- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20God bless you, friends, family and Christ.
- 0:22Thank you so much for tuning in to World View Matters.
- 0:24God, Dr. Andy Woods, with us, can't wait to get to him.
- 0:27We're talking about judicial tyranny and other things, the power of the fed, which was
- 0:32never intended in this nation.
- 0:34But first, thank you for keeping us going.
- 0:37You troublemakers for the Kingdom of God.
- 0:40Satan is really upset with you.
- 0:42I just want to thank James and Vivian from St. Louis, Missouri for their generous donation,
- 0:48also Tamra.

- 0:53From Bismarck.
- 0:54Thank you, Tamra.
- 0:55Maddie from Bellevue, Wisconsin, Paul from Bristol, Tennessee, Michael, from, I think

- 1:14Thank you guys.
- 1:15God bless you.
- 1:16You keep us going and you, some of you are getting a free copy of Alex Newman's book,
- 1:21some of you are getting a free copy of my book, Assault on the Image of God.
- 1:24So Andy Woods is with us today.
- 1:27Before we get to him, I want to read a scripture and you're going to understand why in just a
- 1:31minute.
- 1:32Ecclesiastes chapter seven says, a good name is better than a good ointment.
- 1:38And the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth.
- 1:42It is better to go to a house of mourning than to a house of feasting because that is
- 1:47the end of every man and the living takes it to heart.
- 1:52And then over in second Corinthians chapter four, 16 through 18, therefore we do not
- 1:57lose heart.
- 1:58But though our outer man is decaying yet our inner man is being renewed day by day for
- 2:03momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond
- 2:09all comparison.
- 2:10While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen for
- 2:15the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- 2:22Pastor Andy Woods, Andy Woods Ministries, welcome to Worldly Matters, good to see you,
- 2:26brother.
- 2:27David, it's always a joy to be with you.
- 2:29Thanks for having me.
- 2:30Yeah, thanks.
- 2:31Before we get into the deep topics and the hard news and the other things we're going
- 2:35to talk about, your dad passed away, right around Memorial Day, I mean, I'm sharing these
- 2:42scriptures.
- 2:43My mom died just June 25th.
- 2:48And they're both with the Lord absent from the body, present with the Lord is what I
- 2:53understand.
- 2:54I wanted you to share your thoughts and encourage those who are, because I've heard
- 2:58from a lot of people who have lost a parent and some people lose children and others.
- 3:04But whatever you'd like to share to encourage our viewers.
- 3:08Well, you know, 2024, I sense was going to be different.
- 3:13I just didn't know, you know, now that I'm halfway through it, how different.
- 3:18I mean, I had a cancer scare that I think was rectified through a procedure I had earlier.
- 3:26This year, and as you mentioned, my father passed away the Sunday before Memorial Day.
- 3:32And I guess what the Lord is showing me through this, it relates perfectly to the verse
- 3:38you just shared.
- 3:39It's better to be in the house of mourning than in the house of feasting.
- 3:44You know, when you have these kind of life-altering things, I mean, the Lord has been impressing
- 3:49upon me that I'm not going to be here forever either.
- 3:53And I better start, I mean, I was serious about the Lord before, but now I'm like really
- 3:59serious.
- 4:00You know, whatever I'm supposed to get done, I need to get it done now, because, you
- 4:05know, this things like this show us, I mean, we read it in the Bible, but these life experiences
- 4:11drive it home.
- 4:13That James 4 verse 14, we're just like myths that appears for a little while, and then
- 4:18it's gone.
- 4:19So now more than ever, what God has impressed upon me is to really push myself into eternal
- 4:25things and whatever He wants me to do, I need to start doing it because I'm not going
- 4:29to be around forever.
- 4:31To hear you say that, brother, and knowing you and your ministry over the years, Satan's
- 4:36in trouble when Andy Woods doubles down, and says, I'm going to get serious.
- 4:43Look out.
- 4:44But you know what, we shouldn't we, since we've been born again and saved, have a sense
- 4:50of urgency, and it's so hard to live with that, just teach us to number our days that
- 4:55we might gain hearts of wisdom, Psalm 90 verse 12, having a sense of urgency, being about
- 5:00the Lord's business.
- 5:01And one of the disheartening things from me, Andy, is to see some Christian friends, and
- 5:06when I mean see, I mean, watch what they post on social media about their great leisure
- 5:11and travels and recent purchases and the things, and I'm thinking, wow, the American church
- 5:17is not sending a very good message to the world about the urgency of the gospel.
- 5:23Go ahead and share your thoughts, and we'll move on.
- 5:26Well, as the saying goes, youth is wasted on the young.
- 5:29I mean, the problem with being young is your body is working relatively fine, and you
- 5:37just have a mindset that, oh yeah, God wants me to do this, but I can postpone it, because
- 5:42I can handle it a year from now, or five years from now.
- 5:45And you think that way when you're young, that you're just going to be around forever.
- 5:50But as you get older and as loved ones start to get taken from you, and for example,
- 5:55I mean, in my case, with cancer, and then my knees are not operating as well as they
- 6:02once did, you just start to figure out that, you know, I'm not young, and I'm not going
- 6:07to be here forever.
- 6:09And so these kind of things create a sense of urgency in you, that you didn't have five
- 6:14to ten years ago, and that's really how 2024 is unfolded to me.
- 6:21Okay, so your dad, my mom, will see him in glory.
- 6:28And that's just part of this life is losing a loved one.
- 6:31If you live any length of time, you're going to lose someone close to you.
- 6:35And hopefully, friends, viewers, they know the Lord, hopefully your friends, family.
- 6:41So let's go on to the topic now, as you said, 2024, I'm not going to speculate.
- 6:47I have no idea what's going to happen with the election in November, with Trump, with
- 6:53whoever's going to take Biden's place.
- 6:54I'm kidding.
- 6:55Well, I kind of, I'm not kidding, but let's go to what the courts are doing.
- 7:01And that's what we wanted to talk about since this, we're, we're right in the verge of
- 7:04celebrating the 4th of July in our independence day tomorrow.
- 7:09And there's a lot going on in our country that is absolutely the opposite of what our
- 7:13founders intended and how they established this nation, even with our documents and
- 7:18the constitution.
- 7:20Let's go to one example of religious freedom here, Andy.
- 7:23And that is Jack Phillips is going through the ringer again.
- 7:26This is the third court case in 12 years that he's got to go back to the court and defend
- 7:32his religious freedom.
- 7:33And we know what he's been put through by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission.
- 7:37And then he did win a case and this goes back to 2012.
- 7:41So basically, just your thoughts on this, Andy, and the left is just going to keep on
- 7:46doing this.
- 7:47They're going to try to make examples of people who they deem intolerant, right, of the
- 7:53LGBTQ or whatever.
- 7:55Yeah, the, the, the punishment is the process.
- 8:00So people shouldn't look at, oh, he succeeded, you know, down the road.
- 8:05That's irrelevant.
- 8:06That's never the goal.
- 8:07So we're going to take this guy and we're going to destroy his name, reputation, likeness,
- 8:14image, livelihood, because he dared to speak up against the same sex community.
- 8:21And you know, I mean, basically what they're doing with this guy is they're using the force
- 8:26of law to coerce him to use his creative abilities in a way that goes against his biblical conscience.
- 8:34I mean, it's like going to a Holocaust survivor and using the force of law to demand that
- 8:39they make a floral arrangement for a Nazi rally.
- 8:42I mean, that's the equivalent of what they're doing to this guy.
- 8:46And you know, it's kind of interesting.
- 8:48I haven't seen them go into a Muslim bakery.
- 8:51I was just thinking that you want to, you want to talk about harshness against homosexuality.
- 8:59I mean, for a homosexual in a Muslim country, you get thrown off a building.
- 9:04But you know, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
- 9:06The enemy is people like us, evangelical, Bible-based Christians, and you know, they're sending
- 9:12it.
- 9:13It's like the mob.
- 9:14They take out a major hit on somebody to say, hey, anybody that goes against us, this
- 9:18is what you can expect.
- 9:20And that's what this mob mentality is doing with this brother in Christ, Jack Phillips.
- 9:25And it's all about promoting an anti-biblical worldview.
- 9:30Yeah.
- 9:31Don't stand in our way.
- 9:32Exactly.
- 9:33And all he did was own a business and operate a business under the guise of the biblical
- 9:38worldview, saying, I believe in God ordained natural marriage between one man and one woman.
- 9:44He didn't say that.
- 9:45But when they came in and tried to get him to make that first cake, the first case for
- 9:49the same sex marriage, he said, no, because he said no.
- 9:54And don't tell me they're on to other bakeries within a couple of miles of there, right?
- 9:58And which most cases, right?
- 10:01But so just for saying no, you have to do it our way, that's, that's tier, that's not
- 10:06tolerant, Andy.
- 10:08Yeah.
- 10:09So the preachers of tolerant hypocrites.
- 10:11Yeah, it's tiering in.
- 10:13And this was Colorado.
- 10:14This was like the Denver area, if I understand it, pretty liberal area.
- 10:19I mean, I think he recommended several others that would accommodate these folks, but
- 10:25they're not, it's like the folks at the lot's house there in Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 10:32I mean, release your two guests, oh, no, take my daughters, oh, because you just suggested
- 10:38something is wrong with us in terms of our sexuality, we're gonna, we're gonna treat
- 10:42you far worse than we were gonna treat your guests.
- 10:46That is essentially what's happening.
- 10:48It's Genesis 19, what's happening to the sky, Phillips, the mere insinuation that something
- 10:54is wrong with their lifestyle, that he wouldn't go along with it, participate in their sin.
- 10:59Their whole agenda is to destroy this man.
- 11:01Yeah.
- 11:02So we were talking about this issue and I pulled out this book off my bookshelf called Judicial
- 11:07Tyranny.
- 11:08It's got a lot of different contributors, Mark Sutherland, James Dobson, Bill Federer,
- 11:17Alan Keys.
- 11:18My goodness, Justice Ray Moore, Rick Scarborough, Phyllis Schlafly, Alan Sears, Matt Staver,
- 11:25and others, but there's a chapter 15 called The Soul of America, written by one of my
- 11:30former guests here, Dr. Rick Scarborough, and he's been a part of Liberty Pastors, which
- 11:34where I met him four years ago, and he said this, and I'll get, let you respond and
- 11:38we'll go on, Andy Woods, he said, I believe the church holds the key to the future in America.
- 11:45Politicians in America will not preserve marriage.
- 11:48Politicians in America will not end abortion.
- 11:50Politicians in America will not reduce crime.
- 11:53Politicians in America will not improve education, will not reverse corruption, will not end
- 11:58immorality, and then he goes on.
- 12:00But the point is, we in the church have not done our job to get the right people, either
- 12:06in office, to do the work locally because we forget, whenever there's a national election
- 12:11in November, we kind of lose sight of the local efforts and races that really do affect
- 12:18your small town or district or county, the local community there, and politics is not
- 12:25the answer.
- 12:26Jesus Christ is the answer.
- 12:27And the church, the church has to get better educated, better informed, and then engage
- 12:33some of these things.
- 12:34Your thoughts, Andy?
- 12:35Well, I'm thinking of Calvin Coolidge, one of our great and forgotten presidents.
- 12:42He made a statement at a Fourth of July celebration about our founders, and he said they got their
- 12:48ideas from listening to the clergy, the colonial clergy.
- 12:54So the pastors were the ones talking about inalienable rights, rights coming from God, you know,
- 13:02and all the founders did is sat and listened to sermons and took those concepts and put
- 13:07them in the form of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.
- 13:12So what you're saying there, I think is completely accurate, that it's not the politicians
- 13:19that are going to say America, it's the clergy creating the conscience through preaching
- 13:25on these issues in the politicians that's going to say America, they called them in the
- 13:30day the black robe regimen, and we don't have that right now.
- 13:38Our churches are gravely sadly self-sensoring on all these issues for a lot of different
- 13:44practical reasons, but until the pulpit is rescued in this area and we get back to the
- 13:50full council of God's word, politicians aren't going to say America, it's the clergy creating
- 13:57the conscience for the politicians that are going to say America.
- 14:01Amen.
- 14:02I'm glad you mentioned the black robe regimen.
- 14:03We just don't have that understanding of American history, early American history and how important
- 14:09it was.
- 14:10Who was informing the people?
- 14:11They didn't have the internet, newspapers, media, they didn't have, I don't know, their
- 14:16local Starbucks to run down to and talk to someone at a coffee shop.
- 14:20Maybe they had a few taverns, but they did it at their churches, small town, country churches
- 14:25and the pastors were really talking about what was going on, you know, fighting for freedom,
- 14:30and then they literally went out and fought for freedom.
- 14:32But I want to quote Thomas Jefferson and before I do that, Isaiah 33, 22 says, for the Lord
- 14:40is our judge, the Lord is our law giver, the Lord is our king, he will save us.
- 14:48And Jefferson once said, and this was, I believe in September 28, 1820 in a letter to William
- 14:54Jarvis, he said, you seem to consider the judges as the ultimate
- 15:00arbiters of all constitutional questions, a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which
- 15:07would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy.
- 15:11Their power is the more dangerous as they are in office for life and not responsible as
- 15:18other functionaries are to the elective control.
- 15:23And quote, so Andy, we know the president's appoint federal judges and we know the Supreme
- 15:29Court nominations come from the president.
- 15:31So your thoughts on Jefferson's take back then in the 1800s?
- 15:37I love that quote every time I hear it read, like you just read it, it literally sends
- 15:43shivers up my spine because that quote is so patient.
- 15:48I mean, this idea that we're going to assign all constitutional matters to a bunch of people
- 15:55that aren't accountable to us via the ballot box, which is what we have in the federal
- 16:01judiciary.
- 16:02I mean, that's, that's frightening and that's not, that's not the design of the founders
- 16:08at all.
- 16:09In fact, when you go back to Federalist number 78, Federalist paper number 78, which was
- 16:15basically written to convince the folks in New York to ratify the Constitution by explaining
- 16:21it written by Madison, Jay and Hamilton, they say there that the federal, the judicial
- 16:30branch of government is the least dangerous branch because they always anticipated that
- 16:35judges would follow the text of the Constitution and not make things up, you know, legislate
- 16:41from the bench as they're adjudicating matters.
- 16:44So what has happened over time is they've turned into sort of a constitutional convention
- 16:50where Roe versus Wade or whatever, they can just rewrite the document and this separation
- 16:56of church and state, whatever issue you want to talk about.
- 16:59All of these evils have come into our culture through the fabric of the judiciary and we,
- 17:05the American people can do virtually nothing about it because we don't vote for jurists.
- 17:12And the Federalist papers also talk about how once you unite, you mentioned Isaiah 3322,
- 17:18the three ways, political power manifests itself, legislatively, executively and judicially.
- 17:27And the only person that should have those offices combined in them is the person of
- 17:32Jesus Christ who doesn't have a sin nature.
- 17:37Until then, we need to keep those branches separate.
- 17:40And the Federalist papers say, once you start to merge those branches, like you're talking
- 17:44about here with the judiciary, once you turn the judiciary into a legislator, that they
- 17:50say is the very definition of tyranny.
- 17:54And that's why we're moving in the direction we're moving in Jefferson in the quote, you
- 17:58gave earlier called it a oligarchy, oligoths in Greek means few, it's ruled by a few.
- 18:06And that's what happens when you have an overactive, legislative, making judiciary that's
- 18:13not accountable to you.
- 18:14We have to take a brief pause with Dr. Andy Woods.
- 18:16By the way, if you want to check out his pastor's point of view that's excellent comes out
- 18:20every Friday, go to his YouTube channel, Andy Woods Bible study, or just look up Andy Woods

- 18:49in the rankings.
- 18:50I guess I understand that works this way, just leave a five-star review.
- 18:54That's a huge blessing to us.
- 18:56And if you know someone who's interested in sponsoring the show, send us an email, world
- 19:00view matters at FPEUSA.org, you can go to our website, I said that really fast, go
- 19:04to our website worldviewmatters.tv back with Andy Woods.
- 19:07So another article I wanted to get your take on, Andy, a Supreme Court tossed a case
- 19:12that would have prevented government from coercing social media to censor people.
- 19:18And you know this is an election year, you know it's happening already.
- 19:22And you know it's going to happen and in a six to three decision, which is sad, including
- 19:28all the liberal leftist judges, as well as Kavanaugh and Barrett, they sided with majority
- 19:34and they tossed this case that would have prevented the government, government collusion
- 19:41with big tech to censor people's speech.
- 19:44And I believe it was Glenn Beck, who said the Supreme Court ruled that practically the
- 19:48government can continue pressuring social media companies to censor Americans.
- 19:53This is an absolute gut punch.
- 19:55Your thoughts, because they're already, they've been censoring us, they already are.
- 19:59And here we go, they tossed this case.
- 20:02Well, it's astounding.
- 20:05I mean, when I first heard of the government telling social media what narrative they
- 20:12could promote and to censor everything else, that's coming as policy by the way.
- 20:18Yeah, I agree with all the conservative commentators said the first amendment just died.
- 20:24And if the Supreme Court's not going to take this one up and defend our constitution, according
- 20:29to its original intent, I don't know if they'll ever do anything good ever again.
- 20:34Because this was a classic opportunity to stand for the first amendment, which they
- 20:39just rejected.
- 20:40The only highlight in that whole thing is reading Alito's dissent, just a couple of words
- 20:50from it.
- 20:51He says, officials who read today's decision together with another case, Bulu, will get
- 20:57the message.
- 20:58If a coercive campaign is carried out with enough sophistication, it may get by.
- 21:05This is not a message that this court should send.
- 21:08So Alito basically is saying there, this is classic censorship.
- 21:13It's just in the skies a little bit.
- 21:15So censorship is okay as long as the government is sort of sneaky and how it does it in terms
- 21:22of not being overt, passing some kind of law, but putting pressure on these big tech companies
- 21:28to censor anything that's outside the government narrative.
- 21:32So as far as I'm concerned, David, unless the government corrects this, the first amendment
- 21:37is not even worth the paper it's written on.
- 21:40Yeah.
- 21:41I mean, this is going to affect us all who are trying to speak the truth and be vocal and
- 21:46that's not always popular and often goes against the left, the Marxists, the government.
- 21:51It's interesting.
- 21:52We've strayed so far, Andy.
- 21:53We've just got five minutes left.
- 21:55But here we're celebrating our independence and our independence seems to look a little
- 21:59different every year, doesn't it?
- 22:01It's like, oh, my goodness, now we feel like, you know, we're backed up against the wall.
- 22:05I want to go back to a quote by Noah Webster, who said the Bible is the chief moral cause
- 22:12of all that is good and the best corrector of all that is evil in human society.
- 22:18The best book for regulating the temporal, secular concerns of men.
- 22:24And I think there's another quote someone said, if men were angels, we wouldn't have
- 22:28to worry about the laws and keeping the Constitution, but men are not.
- 22:32We are not.
- 22:33And another, I think it was Garfield that talked about the Constitution was made for
- 22:37a moral and religious people.
- 22:40And go ahead, your thoughts.
- 22:41I'll let you.
- 22:42You're the guest.
- 22:43Well, yeah, the Fed, what you're quoting there is Federalist number 51.
- 22:47I think it was Madison that said, look, if we were all angels, we wouldn't need limited
- 22:53government.
- 22:54But the great difficulty is that the people running the government have the same sin nature
- 22:59as the rest of us.
- 23:01So we've got to make the government powerful enough to curb the sin, appetites and people,
- 23:07but weak enough so it doesn't run into tyranny because those that run the government have
- 23:12the same sin nature as those being governed.
- 23:15And so that's why our founders with that worldview came up with a beautiful arrangement
- 23:19that we've been talking a little bit about here, you know, the separation of powers.
- 23:25And if that structure ever disappears, we will be into full-fledged tyranny.
- 23:32And so these quotes that you're surfacing from Jefferson, you know, warning about an overactive
- 23:38judiciary, they're patient because those are the struggles that we're facing right now.
- 23:44Because our society, you know, literally hangs in the balance.
- 23:48And the only remedy for it is a biblical understanding.
- 23:52Second Corinthians 3 verse 17 says, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
- 23:57And that's why these leftists hate the Bible.
- 24:00It's kind of funny.
- 24:01First they say the Bible is just fairy tale.
- 24:03Well, if it's just a fairy tale, why are you trying to illegalize it?
- 24:06You don't illegalize Peter Pan.
- 24:09They're very fearful of the Bible because they know that the Bible naturally produces a
- 24:13mindset of liberty, which tyrants hate.
- 24:16Yeah.
- 24:17If it's not effective, it's not true.
- 24:18It's not powerful.
- 24:19Why ban it?
- 24:20And why be so against it?
- 24:22One more quote since you mentioned the separation of powers.
- 24:25And we've got three minutes left, Alexander Hamilton, the Federalist 78.
- 24:29The judiciary is beyond comparison, the weakest of the three departments of power.
- 24:36And the general liberty of the people can never be endangered from that quarter.
- 24:42Well, Andy, again, our founders and those who fought so hard for this country and for
- 24:49the Constitution and for liberty, they would be astounded at what we, the people have
- 24:53allowed today.
- 24:55And I think about that quote, what have you been given, a republic, if you can keep it?
- 25:01What do we have?
- 25:02A republic.
- 25:03Go ahead.
- 25:04Yeah.
- 25:05Well, what he said there, number 78 was assuming, he was just assuming that the judges were
- 25:11going to follow the literal grammatical, historical, contextual method of interpretation,
- 25:17take the founders original vision and apply it to whatever case happened to be before
- 25:23them.
- 25:24Now, that was pre-Darwin, because Darwin came along in 1859 and said, man is ascending,
- 25:33the ascent of man through evolution.
- 25:35Well, if that's true, then we can't be bound by an 18th century Constitution.
- 25:40So it has to evolve with man.
- 25:43And the judges said, we'll be the ones that evolve it.
- 25:46And they circumvented the amendment process, which places the power in the hands of the
- 25:51people.
- 25:52And they became sort of every time they meet, it's like a new constitutional convention.
- 25:57And as we expressed earlier, that's the definition of tyranny, because you're placing the power
- 26:02to change the Constitution in the hands of people that you don't elect or vote for.
- 26:09And that's why all of these terrible cultural issues that we're facing, abortion, all of
- 26:15these things have come into our culture through the fabric of the judiciary.
- 26:20And so these are the things that we need to think about on Independence Day and how we
- 26:23get back to the original vision of the founders.
- 26:26Yes.
- 26:27And just what happened with that horrific case in the early 70s, Roe v. Wade and how
- 26:32that changed everything as far as legalizing abortion and the mentality of people.
- 26:39So Andy, we're fighting for our freedom.
- 26:41I think we haven't fought as hard as we could.
- 26:43I think more people are waking up.
- 26:45How would you encourage the average person before we run out of time?
- 26:47We've just got 30 seconds left.
- 26:49Well, I would encourage him to pray for the government.
- 26:53I would encourage him to read constantly, you know, the stuff that you put out.
- 26:59You always give wonderful sources for people to read.
- 27:02I would encourage him to vote.
- 27:04Amen.
- 27:05The statistics there are terrible.
- 27:07We can't even get the evangelical church out the boat.
- 27:10Yeah.
- 27:11Just think of the power we could wield if we got everybody on the same page to vote.
- 27:15And then the last thing I would encourage people to do is run for office, run for city
- 27:20council, run for some office because that's a divine calling.
- 27:27It's like standing behind a pulpit as a divine calling.
- 27:30So there's a lot of things we can do to get the salt out of the salt shaker so we can
- 27:34be salt and light to the culture.
- 27:36Amen, brother.
- 27:37And by the way, he told me he's working on a new book, friends.
- 27:40I can't wait.
- 27:41One of these times, we'll talk more about it.
- 27:43Andy Woods, God bless you, sir.
- 27:44Thank you so much for all you do.
- 27:45Hey, thanks for having me, David.
- 27:47Joy to be here.
- 27:49Friends, God bless you.
- 27:50And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
