- 0:03I'm gonna do my best Mark Levin impersonation welcoming Justin Haskins to the show.
- 0:09Hi Justin, Hi President, Sorry, sorry about all that. Oh okay.
- 0:15The headline europe is held bent on forcing US companies to go woke,
- 0:21and it has a new law to do just that, channeling my Mark Levin
- 0:25gout. Okay. So this is truly one of the most remarkable stories of
- 0:36the decade in the European Union. They have been working on a law for
- 0:42three years now, and that law would fundamentally give the European Union the ability
- 0:51to establish social credit scores ESG scores for companies that exist both within the European
- 0:59Union, in large companies in the European Union, as well as companies outside
- 1:03of the European Union, like American companies that do business in the European Union
- 1:08a certain amount of business. So we're tucking large companies. But it goes
- 1:12much much further than that. In addition to creating these woke social justice anti
- 1:21climate change, you know, pro environmentalist ESG scores for large businesses inside the
- 1:26European Union and outside, it also requires these businesses to enforce those social credit
- 1:34scoring metrics. Those woke policies on all of the businesses, or not all
- 1:40of the businesses, but many of the businesses in their supply chains, regardless
- 1:45of where they exist. So, for example, Ford is a big business,
- 1:51really big business, does a lot of business in the European Union.
- 1:53They're going to be required under this law to submit to an ESG social credits
- 2:00scoring system in the European Union. But they're also going to be required to
- 2:04impose those social credit scores on a bunch of their businesses, many of the
- 2:09businesses in their supply chain in America and elsewhere. So if you're a transportation
- 2:15company that does business in America with Ford, or a rubber manufacturer that does
- 2:22business in America with Ford, you're in Ohio or Pennsylvania or something, you're
- 2:27also going to have to comply with this because Ford is going to force you
- 2:30to comply with it, because Ford is being required by the European Union to
- 2:35comply with it. And if they don't force it on you, the rubber
- 2:38manufacturer or the transportation company, or the radio systems creator or the mechanic or
- 2:45whatever, then they get penalized massive, massive fines in the European Union,
- 2:52and they may lose access to doing business in Europe altogether, and so they're
- 2:57forcing this crazy system essentially on the entire world. I don't know how they're
- 3:02going to be able to pull this off. I think it's going to lead
- 3:06to selective enforcement, with the goal being to transform the economies and societies that
- 3:12the European Union wants to transform. And when you start playing the game of
- 3:16how this all works, almost every large company, many of the medium sized
- 3:21companies, and many many, many small companies would all be drawn into this
- 3:24in one form or another. So we're talking about the transformation of our economy
- 3:29and society with this law, which by the way, doesn't it's in effect
- 3:35now, but it's not going to Actually it's going to be written in national
- 3:38laws throughout the European Union over the next two years. So we have a
- 3:43two year period here to stop it from affecting America. But once we hit
- 3:49twenty twenty seven, it's all over. How does one stop it? That's
- 3:58the multi trillion dollar question. I mean, I mean here domestically, you
- 4:03and I have talked about this at nauseum. Individual states are stepping up like
- 4:10Florida, but this just causes that to become meaningless. Yeah. Essentially,
- 4:15what we need is we need a couple things. The biggest thing that we
- 4:21need is a president and a Congress that's willing to go to the European Union
- 4:27and say you're not going to do this to us, You're going to change
- 4:30the rule, We're not doing this with you. And America actually has a
- 4:34lot of leverage in the relationship because Europe needs us far more than we need
- 4:40Europe. It's not even remotely close. They need us for energy, they
- 4:43need us for all sorts of different things, they need our money to fight
- 4:45wars. They need us way more than we need them, and so that's
- 4:49a huge component in this. If they don't do that, then there may
- 4:56not be any way to stop the full force of it. But states probably
- 5:00can step up to the plate and make things difficult for the corporations that are
- 5:03trying to impose this in their state. But that's going to be a really
- 5:09hard task for states to do that on their own without help from the federal
- 5:13government. Ooh, you weren't kidding when you said this is the story of
- 5:18the decade. This is the back doorway of the Great Reset, This is
- 5:26the culmination of the Great Rate. This is the height of when they talked
- 5:30about during the Great Reset period in twenty twenty and they first launched it,
- 5:33and they talked about fundamentally transforming societies, rewriting social contracts, pushing the reset
- 5:40button on capitalism. This is what they had in mind. They cooked this
- 5:44up years ago, and it's taken them years to get through the legislative process.
- 5:47It almost died in the European Union. And at the very last minute
- 5:51in this session, most recent session, they got it through the door.
- 5:56And the reason they pushed it through it the last second was because they knew
- 6:00they were going to have a really bad the far left, a really bad
- 6:02election season in the European Union, and they did. They did just a
- 6:06couple just a few weeks after this happened. The far Left lost a ton
- 6:11of seats in their European Parliament votes, and so they got it through just
- 6:15in time. And yes, it's to me, this is the great this
- 6:20is the culmination, the peak of the Great Reset, and if we don't
- 6:24stop it, American sovereignty is effectively dead. He's Justin Haskins with the Heartland
- 6:31Institute, and we're talking about the corporate sustainability due diligence directive man justin if
- 6:44ever there was wording in a law that is intentionally ambiguous, ambiguous, rather,
- 6:51this is it. But that's intentional, right, Yeah, they made
- 6:56this thing incredibly, incredibly complicated. If you want to look up the text
- 7:01of it, it's cs D D D very rolls right off the tongue,
- 7:06that acronym. And then even when you look it up, if you try
- 7:11to read it, it is very complicated. It's over one hundred pages long,
- 7:15which doesn't sound that long by American standards. But then when you start
- 7:19piecing in all of the different references to other laws, there are dozens and
- 7:24dozens and dozens of times in the bill while they'll say or in the law
- 7:28will they'll say things like, you know, see this international covenant on X,
- 7:33Y and Z, and see this other international covenant, and then see
- 7:38this other regulation and this EU rule that we passed, and this guidance document,
- 7:43and we use the definitions in this other document. And so really it's
- 7:46referring to dozens of other laws that also apply to corporations. Is incredibly complicated,
- 7:51but they do it on purpose so that regular people couldn't figure it out
- 7:56unless somebody some nerd you know, spent years to figure out what's in this
- 8:01laws so that they can convey it to other people. And thankfully for you
- 8:03that learns me there you go. Yeah, yeah. So now we're uncovering
- 8:09this piece by piece. It's a process. We're finding new things every single
- 8:13day buried in this thing. But the one thing that we know for certain
- 8:16already is that if it is allowed to continue on and American companies submit to
- 8:22this, it will completely transform our society. We will all be beholden to
- 8:26the overlords in the European Union, and American sovereignty will be completely dead.
- 8:33Whether you're on the left or the right, that should scare you in essence,
- 8:37no matter what they call it or word it, it is the imposition
- 8:41of ESG scoring and monitoring, etc. That we've talked about a lot.
- 8:50That's what this really is, right. It imposes social credit scoring on companies
- 8:58who then impose it on other companies, which then transforms society. And it's
- 9:03everything from land and water use and protecting and reversing biodiversity. That's one of
- 9:11the requirements. I don't even know how you do that. If you're a
- 9:13company reversing biodiversity, I guess planting trees or something like that. Climate change,
- 9:20numerous climate change initiatives, the end of the use of fossil fuels,
- 9:24and the vast majority of the economy. All of that stuff is in at
- 9:28plus mandatory living wages, protecting labor unions, all sorts of vague statements about
- 9:37social justice and intersectionality, and all kinds of other things. The list goes
- 9:41on and on and on. It is essentially, though, a license for
- 9:45Europe to decide how our economy works, not just our economy, but basically
- 9:50every economy that operates even slightly in the European Union. All right, let's
- 9:54do a lightning round here. You mentioned the elections in Europe, how the
- 10:01extremists lost a bunch of ground. However, does that mean that there's any
- 10:07chance of a new European Union Congress or whatever they call it Parliament reversing this.
- 10:13No, there's no chance that they'll reverse it, because although they did
- 10:18lose many seats the far left, the Green Party and others in the European
- 10:22Union, the more moderate types, the conservative leaning people, did not gain
- 10:28enough seats to actually take control of the body, so they could have stopped
- 10:33it. They had enough votes. Probably, they would have enough votes to
- 10:35stop a future version of this, probably, but they don't have the votes
- 10:39to reverse it. Are there any countries that are resistant to this that are
- 10:46members of the EU? There were factions within some of the larger countries,
- 10:52namely Germany, that were pretty resistant to this, But for the most part,
- 10:58the largest, most powerful entries, including many of the leaders in Germany
- 11:01that was a weird situation there are supportive of this, So I don't see
- 11:07them reversing it. The United Kingdom, I'll remind you, which would probably
- 11:11be one of the most skeptical of this thing, isn't in the European Union
- 11:15anymore, right, they don't actually have a say in any of this.
- 11:16Okay. Lastly, best as you can tell is this development on the radar
- 11:24of perhaps Donald Trump and at least equally importantly members of Congress. So I
- 11:31know for a fact that there are certain very high level members of Congress,
- 11:35US senators, etc. That have that have seen this within the past week
- 11:41or two, because we've made sure that they've seen it, and I don't
- 11:45mean just blindly sending them an email or something like. We know that they've
- 11:50seen it, but to our knowledge almost no one knows anything about this,
- 11:56so there's very few people talking about it right now. There's almost no one
- 12:01on our side covering this. There is no think tanks other than the one
- 12:03that I work for, the Heartland Institute, that's done any work on this
- 12:07at all. But we have a policy paper that's in development specifically for lawmakers
- 12:13so that they know what's going on. That'll be done very very soon this
- 12:16week or next. We're going to spend that out to every state lawmaker in
- 12:20the country and hopefully a lot of the federal ones. And we're working on
- 12:22getting meetings with high level members of Congress to discuss this, so they're going
- 12:28to find out about it soon. But do I think them or Donald Trump
- 12:31know about this now, No, I don't. God bless you for what
- 12:33you're doing, Justin, and thank you so much for being our friend here
- 12:37on the program and keep having us at least as best as we can be
- 12:41informed. Thank you, Prestin, appreciate it. Justin Haskins with us this
- 12:46morning on the Morning Show with Preston Scott twenty eight minutes after the hour,
- 12:50still got some money talk and the big stories next
