- 0:25Speaker 2: two on this six game homestand still with plenty of
- 0:29Speaker 2: points the Krack and need to stay in the playoff
- 0:32Speaker 2: mix coming off a victory over the New Jersey Devils.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Nonetheless, plenty of folks.
- 0:37Speaker 2: In this town in a pretty good mood, and I
- 0:39Speaker 2: think you might know why here From Sunday appropriately Ian
- 0:43Speaker 2: Forness will be joining us here in just a bit
- 0:47Speaker 2: on some cracking Seahawks crossover, Matty Beniers's growth, Joey to
- 0:51Speaker 2: court as well, how big was the game he had
- 0:54Speaker 2: on Sunday, Plus a look here for the Kraken and
- 0:56Speaker 2: what they got to get after here with the Capitals
- 0:58Speaker 2: coming into ten after an absolute barn burner of a game,
- 1:03Speaker 2: though they lost six to five in overtime last Saturday
- 1:06Speaker 2: to Edmonton, the Kraken getting a well deserved day off
- 1:10Speaker 2: after they beat New Jersey Sunday, which set the table
- 1:14Speaker 2: for an unforgettable sports day in the Emerald City, the Seahawks,
- 1:18Speaker 2: of course, capping off the day with an NFC Championship
- 1:21Speaker 2: victory over the Los Angeles Rams on their way.
- 1:24Speaker 3: To the Super Bowl.
- 1:26Speaker 2: So certainly the mood is pretty sky high right now
- 1:29Speaker 2: in this town. Before we get to Ian, here's the
- 1:32Speaker 2: look back of what you may have missed from Sunday,
- 1:35Speaker 2: with the Kraken again trying to climb out of the
- 1:37Speaker 2: first period deficit with a bit of a spark on
- 1:40Speaker 2: the physical side.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Knocked it down, Devil's try to clearing a big hit
- 1:45Speaker 4: on the airside.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Lindren on Poli.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Now it's gonna be Mercer and Lingern in a fight
- 1:50Speaker 4: against an airboard of the neutral zone.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Dawson Mercer pickned against the Lords. Brian Lingern two strong.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Right hands to the side of the head of Mercer.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Dawson Mercer trying to get his head answered Lyndren wrestles
- 2:01Speaker 4: him against the penalty boxed door and now the line's
- 2:05Speaker 4: been get in there to break up the fight.
- 2:07Speaker 3: But it was Ryan Lingern, a quick one to two.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Combo that got Mercer off his game a little bit, and.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Then Lingerd just wrestled him against the boards. Now Lingering shoots,
- 2:20Speaker 3: that's a lot of the net. Evans keeps it on side.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Lack your evidence, center point turns.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Fires, rolls in stars a point shot from Riker. Evans
- 2:37Speaker 4: hits some sticks in front. It trickles in five hole.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Par rat bar circle. Everybody gets it back.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Baniers starts, My goodness, Maddy Vaniers takes the pass. He
- 2:55Speaker 4: goes wide from the left circle to the near side
- 2:59Speaker 4: and he quits a.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Backhand by Mark Strump.
- 3:02Speaker 4: The cracket take a two on lead, twelve fifty six
- 3:06Speaker 4: to go on the third.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Might even hears with a big smile in his face
- 3:10Speaker 5: as he goes to the bench. It was Jordan every
- 3:12Speaker 5: the captain who feeds into him on his forehead in
- 3:14Speaker 5: the slot. He goes forehead, backhead, right under the bar.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Two one cracks off one here by the cracket, long.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Shot a backhand and thrown off. Oh my goodness, nice goal.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Markley cat on the back side.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Tanner Steven said, with the.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Pass from below the right circle sends it through the
- 3:36Speaker 4: gold mouth Catton on the back door taps it home.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It's a two doll cracket lead, a far sign for racetoor.
- 3:43Speaker 4: The puck Jordan Everly picks up the disc walks it
- 3:47Speaker 4: start short it Everly, we'll seal it for Seattle one
- 3:58Speaker 4: twelve to play the it's.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Up four two cracket lead.
- 4:03Speaker 5: A fairly easy clear that comes around the offensive end
- 4:06Speaker 5: of the ice for the Devils that Dougie Hamilton just
- 4:08Speaker 5: doesn't handle coming off the boards. Everly's applaing pressure, but
- 4:12Speaker 5: not enough for him to necessarily not stop. Dot Pucket
- 4:15Speaker 5: squirts by and abering down that left side, takes the
- 4:18Speaker 5: time and snaps it into an empty den.
- 4:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Coming out of all of that, the Krack and have
- 4:24Speaker 2: a chance to make it a three and two home
- 4:26Speaker 2: stand in their second and final matchup with the Washington Capitals.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Only time the Caps will visit Climate Pledgerina for this
- 4:34Speaker 2: regular season. The Mayor joins us Ian Furness aka Mayor
- 4:39Speaker 2: of Maple Valley aka your host one to three pm
- 4:42Speaker 2: ninety three three kJ RFM aka TV Desk Coast as
- 4:45Speaker 2: well for the crack at Hockey Network. He's busy anyway,
- 4:49Speaker 2: but now kind to join us here for kracking this
- 4:52Speaker 2: morning and Mayor, I'm not sure I ever saw a
- 4:55Speaker 2: building on Sunday that was maybe the largest amount of
- 4:59Speaker 2: fas I've seen split into wearing NHL and NFL gear combined.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Like that game on Sunday, how about you?
- 5:08Speaker 6: That was fun. It was a great atmosphere, and you know,
- 5:11Speaker 6: the Seahawks chant at times they climate played to arena
- 5:13Speaker 6: were fun, and you know, they were treated to a
- 5:16Speaker 6: really entertaining hockey game as well, And of course that's
- 5:19Speaker 6: that preceedon would end up being a very entertaining NFL
- 5:21Speaker 6: football game later on that day, So good day.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I mean, the Olympic break kind of comes the right time, right,
- 5:26Speaker 2: I mean, the NHL takes a breather, and then the
- 5:28Speaker 2: Super Bowl and coming, and I mean, hey, Mike McDonald
- 5:31Speaker 2: could be days away from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and
- 5:35Speaker 2: we're right back out of it again. Not until later on
- 5:38Speaker 2: next month.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Right, yeah, exactly, the NFL will have about a month
- 5:42Speaker 6: off like the NHL. It feels like before they start
- 5:44Speaker 6: talking about NFL Draft, we've got a big, a big
- 5:51Speaker 6: football game to That big football game comes after the
- 5:53Speaker 6: Olympic break starts for the craft and so a Big
- 5:55Speaker 6: five games coming up to them.
- 5:56Speaker 2: What a treat here for people living in this town
- 5:58Speaker 2: for a long long time. I know that that for you,
- 6:00Speaker 2: for Softy, for Dick Fane, for my dad even who
- 6:03Speaker 2: was a Federal Way High grad class of seventy one.
- 6:06Speaker 2: They've seen a lot of hard times here and this
- 6:09Speaker 2: is fun stuff, not just for the Super Bowl run,
- 6:11Speaker 2: but the baseball team doing well now, the NHL becoming
- 6:13Speaker 2: a reality here. Certainly it's all encompassing here for this.
- 6:18Speaker 2: If I can kind of marry the two sports, he
- 6:20Speaker 2: and to be kind of begin things. There's the expired
- 6:23Speaker 2: Sam Darnold narrative that's in the past. He can't get
- 6:27Speaker 2: it done. He's a QB. Now, that's one went away
- 6:30Speaker 2: from a ring. If there's a player on the crack
- 6:32Speaker 2: end for this season who's on the path to maybe
- 6:35Speaker 2: busting a narrative the most right now to you, who
- 6:38Speaker 2: is it?
- 6:39Speaker 6: Probably Matt Eveniers, right, I mean just in terms of
- 6:42Speaker 6: the progression up I mean, I guess you could say
- 6:45Speaker 6: Shane right, but he's not. He's not making that same
- 6:50Speaker 6: trajectory upwards like Maddie is. I would say Maddy Vaniers
- 6:54Speaker 6: would be the Sam Darnold comparison to the difference obviously
- 6:57Speaker 6: being that you know, Maddy's been here for all three
- 7:01Speaker 6: hundred games of his career as opposed to Darnold, who
- 7:04Speaker 6: was drafted by the Jets and took the tour from
- 7:07Speaker 6: the Jets to the Panthers to the forty nine ers,
- 7:10Speaker 6: to the Vikings to the Seahawks. But I would probably say,
- 7:13Speaker 6: you know, that would be it. You know, I mean,
- 7:15Speaker 6: there's a lot of people that have doubted Maddie, and
- 7:18Speaker 6: you know, the production, frankly hasn't always been there offensively,
- 7:21Speaker 6: But if you just watched the games, you see how
- 7:23Speaker 6: much he does at both ends of the ice and
- 7:25Speaker 6: understand that he's making quite an impact. And now all
- 7:28Speaker 6: of a sudden, the offensive numbers are coming and we're
- 7:31Speaker 6: starting to see, you know, why he was the number
- 7:33Speaker 6: two overall pick and all those things. So I would
- 7:36Speaker 6: go with Maddy ben here and I'll.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Say this, and I'll let you kind of add on
- 7:39Speaker 2: to this if you need to, but I go back
- 7:42Speaker 2: to not just the play that he made on Sunday.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I mean, my goodness, that backhander was delicious to look
- 7:49Speaker 2: at over and over and over. But since this team
- 7:53Speaker 2: took off about mid December. He's got sixteen points now
- 7:57Speaker 2: in eighteen games. Overall for this regular season, he's on
- 8:01Speaker 2: pace to hitting fifty four points, which would be only
- 8:04Speaker 2: three point shy of his career high back when he
- 8:06Speaker 2: won the Calder Trophy three years ago. Then when you
- 8:10Speaker 2: add into the fact that he's supposed to play a
- 8:12Speaker 2: two hundred foot game, I remember watching back. I know,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I know that you called this game on the TV
- 8:17Speaker 2: side when the Penguins were here Ian but at times
- 8:20Speaker 2: when he was matched up with Sidney Crosby, he was
- 8:23Speaker 2: in his jersey.
- 8:24Speaker 3: But if you can.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Find a way to get plays like he made against
- 8:28Speaker 2: New Jersey, consistent defensive zone presence as well, And I
- 8:33Speaker 2: want to be careful here. You are getting into what
- 8:37Speaker 2: is consistently numbers wise Patrice Burgron territory, which was his
- 8:42Speaker 2: guy growing up in Boston. And this is I think
- 8:46Speaker 2: one possibility here to look at where he develops into
- 8:49Speaker 2: a great number two center on a Stanley Cup contending team.
- 8:53Speaker 2: This team still has a long ways to go of
- 8:55Speaker 2: getting there, but we are seeing incredible strides here from
- 8:58Speaker 2: Matty Benier's this season as far as what he can.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Be right and and the thing that is reality is
- 9:04Speaker 6: he's you're the number one center for the cracking right now.
- 9:07Speaker 6: So you know, I would say, why limit him to
- 9:10Speaker 6: being a two? I think he could be one. I
- 9:13Speaker 6: also think he can be you know, pretty close, if
- 9:16Speaker 6: not a point per game guy at some point too.
- 9:19Speaker 6: You know, he's still fairly he's still young, you know.
- 9:22Speaker 6: And even though it feels I mean because he was
- 9:24Speaker 6: the first draft pick in twenty twenty one, and you know,
- 9:27Speaker 6: it's and now he's in his fourths full season h
- 9:31Speaker 6: and he's been around for a while, I think we
- 9:33Speaker 6: kind of think of him as being you know, old
- 9:34Speaker 6: man Veneers, and that's not the case. He's still a
- 9:37Speaker 6: young guy. And I think with Maddie that it's it's
- 9:42Speaker 6: realistic to think he could put up more points and
- 9:45Speaker 6: closer to a point per game. You know, we're seeing
- 9:47Speaker 6: that pace this month for him, you know, And and
- 9:50Speaker 6: he's kind of come into his own. He does have
- 9:52Speaker 6: more responsibilities. There's a lot of high end players in
- 9:54Speaker 6: this league. They have those same responsibilities and they get
- 9:56Speaker 6: it done. I I would never want to put him
- 9:59Speaker 6: in to you know, pigeonhole him in and say this
- 10:01Speaker 6: is who you are, right, I think there's still room
- 10:04Speaker 6: for growth, and I think we're seeing that growth every game.
- 10:06Speaker 3: How big was Sunday's game? Ian From the Joey to
- 10:09Speaker 3: Cored's side of things, Oh.
- 10:11Speaker 6: I think, like, you know, it's Gruby's played so well
- 10:15Speaker 6: that Joey's not been at the same level at least
- 10:19Speaker 6: a consistency that he was last season. We'll see flashes
- 10:23Speaker 6: of brilliance, but maybe not that same consistency. And you know,
- 10:28Speaker 6: this team has to have e leite goal canding. It
- 10:31Speaker 6: just does the way. It's the way they're structured. Until
- 10:34Speaker 6: they go out and find elite goal scorers or point producers.
- 10:37Speaker 6: They they need to be great inside their own the
- 10:39Speaker 6: end and great in goal. And uh, you know, I
- 10:42Speaker 6: think that's that Philip Brubauer has fulfilled that. I mean,
- 10:45Speaker 6: he's already our passed you know, if you just wanting
- 10:47Speaker 6: to look at point totals that he got for this
- 10:49Speaker 6: team last you know, last year, he's already surpassed that
- 10:53Speaker 6: Gruby's been and all of his numbers screen you know,
- 10:56Speaker 6: comparable to his you know, to the year. He is
- 10:58Speaker 6: continuing to the business stuff. So I think Joey needs,
- 11:03Speaker 6: you know, Joey needs to kind of step it up.
- 11:04Speaker 6: And I think on Sunday against New Jersey he did.
- 11:06Speaker 6: He was great in that game. I made some incredible saves.
- 11:10Speaker 6: I thought, you know that they're the one save he
- 11:13Speaker 6: made in the second period on the doorstep, just to
- 11:17Speaker 6: saw the strength of you know, he worked as a
- 11:20Speaker 6: workout then and he saw that come to fruition with
- 11:23Speaker 6: you know, by holding the post and getting the leg down.
- 11:25Speaker 6: The puck almost crossed it, didn't. I just I loved it.
- 11:29Speaker 6: I love to see him bounce back and you know,
- 11:31Speaker 6: such an emotional guy. He kind of gave you that
- 11:33Speaker 6: lift too. So yeah, I think it was big for
- 11:34Speaker 6: him on Sunday.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I mean the only question we had left unanswered from
- 11:38Speaker 2: Sunday was could he get an empty NND goal? And
- 11:41Speaker 2: I think as of right now it's not a matter
- 11:43Speaker 2: of if, but when right, Yeah, he tried.
- 11:46Speaker 6: He gave it a go, didn't he, And yeah, it's
- 11:50Speaker 6: gonna happen. I think Johnny said on the TV side
- 11:52Speaker 6: is right, It's it's gonna happen. It's going to happen.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I fully remember, usually you know, thirty seconds to have
- 12:00Speaker 2: been left, unless it's like a tight one goal game
- 12:02Speaker 2: or it's tied. I mean, I've got a short walk
- 12:05Speaker 2: back to my set to get ready. You know, we're
- 12:07Speaker 2: not We're not going on immediately, you know, I think
- 12:09Speaker 2: in the same vein is what TV does.
- 12:11Speaker 3: But I set back down.
- 12:13Speaker 2: All of a sudden, I see the crowd get up,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but I hear I f it's this call, and here's
- 12:16Speaker 2: the cord lobbyg into the yet end. I go, oh, no,
- 12:19Speaker 2: am I about to miss this thing?
- 12:21Speaker 6: Yeah? No, you yeah, be careful. I mean, I don't
- 12:24Speaker 6: you know, he tried. I think he thought about it too.
- 12:27Speaker 6: Of it was still a one goal game. Yeah, and
- 12:30Speaker 6: but yeah, I think when it's a two goal game,
- 12:32Speaker 6: it sounds like he's kind of got a little bit
- 12:34Speaker 6: of a green light to go for it. So I mean,
- 12:36Speaker 6: it's gonna happen. It'll be awesome when it does. And
- 12:40Speaker 6: I can't wait him. He's got plenty of assists now,
- 12:42Speaker 6: he just needs to add that goal.
- 12:44Speaker 3: We've talked about.
- 12:44Speaker 2: The first period starts to eat and it feels like
- 12:46Speaker 2: for the last you know, a week, week and a half,
- 12:48Speaker 2: that nausea here and I mean granted the crack and
- 12:50Speaker 2: come out of the the New Jersey game down one
- 12:53Speaker 2: nothing Dougie Hamilton power play goal kracking. Though we're tied
- 12:58Speaker 2: in shots nine to nine with New Jersey, they find
- 13:01Speaker 2: a way to get things back even before they got
- 13:03Speaker 2: three unanswered goals, beginning with Ryker Evans' second period.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Goal as well.
- 13:07Speaker 2: But at least from I think from from Sunday, the
- 13:10Speaker 2: early start time, and from what they wanted to do
- 13:13Speaker 2: to set their game plan in place. Where did you
- 13:15Speaker 2: take that first period and measuring up as far as
- 13:17Speaker 2: what they need to do consistently.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Yeah, that was good too. About that is, yeah, you sail,
- 13:22Speaker 6: we had one nothing. You know, first of all, that
- 13:25Speaker 6: wasn't a penalty on Seattle. It shouldn't have been a
- 13:27Speaker 6: penalty on Seattle. Wasn't sane Wright stick the devil's player
- 13:30Speaker 6: sticks on the bad call and that call that they
- 13:34Speaker 6: discussed and still made the call, which is kind of disappointing.
- 13:37Speaker 6: But and then you get and you just you knew
- 13:39Speaker 6: it was going to happen right.
- 13:40Speaker 3: When it late.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, the fun's gonna be in the back
- 13:44Speaker 6: of the end. The penalty killed to that point was good.
- 13:46Speaker 6: They score and there we are again, another first period
- 13:50Speaker 6: goal and twelve straight first periods with the goal aloud.
- 13:52Speaker 6: Uh And however, many times you've been trailing after one
- 13:55Speaker 6: and all those things, so that's all kind of But
- 13:58Speaker 6: yet they were resilient. They got all back and you know,
- 14:01Speaker 6: the Banker gets the goal. And why did you get
- 14:03Speaker 6: that goal? Well, because traffic gets front of the net.
- 14:06Speaker 6: Mark Strom had two guys in Winterton, and a lot
- 14:10Speaker 6: is in front of the net. That front present squeak through,
- 14:12Speaker 6: goes in, goes off the new Jersey player. But to
- 14:16Speaker 6: get March from Steve and if not for the fact
- 14:18Speaker 6: that there's trafficking, so you get kind of that greasy
- 14:20Speaker 6: one there, and then obviously he crank it up in
- 14:22Speaker 6: the period three mad he gets the goal and then
- 14:24Speaker 6: Berkeley finds I mean the Berkeley goal off just a
- 14:28Speaker 6: sick pass by Chandler Stevenson. Yeah, and you're you're off
- 14:32Speaker 6: the races three to one, you hold on and get
- 14:33Speaker 6: the four two win. It was it was just good
- 14:35Speaker 6: all the way around. But yeah, I thought the fact
- 14:37Speaker 6: they battled back from being down because they had a
- 14:40Speaker 6: good start to that game with his two jersey you know,
- 14:42Speaker 6: they were far better early than they have been lately. Early,
- 14:45Speaker 6: and you know, obviously Lane's message finally got through and
- 14:48Speaker 6: then they find themselves down one nothing after twenty minutes.
- 14:52Speaker 6: So to see them come back like that, I thought
- 14:53Speaker 6: was really a good sign.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And then I think part of the turnaround and it
- 14:58Speaker 2: was maybe a slow burn. W how this kind of
- 15:01Speaker 2: helped things unfold. But it only took about roughly three
- 15:05Speaker 2: and a half minutes after Dougie Hamilton's power play goal
- 15:09Speaker 2: for Ryan Lenngren to come in and absolutely blow the
- 15:13Speaker 2: doors off of Andre Palatte and then he and dossa
- 15:16Speaker 2: mercer dropped the gloves.
- 15:18Speaker 6: Yeah, donsa mercer dropped the gloves first, luckily, so we
- 15:20Speaker 6: get the you know the two five and ten. Yeah,
- 15:24Speaker 6: but you know, lingern setting its own. I listened very easily,
- 15:27Speaker 6: could have been lingering, but I loved it. You know,
- 15:31Speaker 6: I love the fact that you take the body, be physical.
- 15:34Speaker 6: That's who he is. Ryan Linger has been just a
- 15:35Speaker 6: solid player for this team all year. Like he's you
- 15:38Speaker 6: just just meet and potatoes. You know you're gonna get
- 15:40Speaker 6: from this guy. It's just he's been fun to watch,
- 15:43Speaker 6: has that physical presence, you know, block that does whatever
- 15:45Speaker 6: it takes. But I know that was a good sign.
- 15:48Speaker 6: You know, a little response there, and you know, Mercer
- 15:50Speaker 6: decided to take matters in his own hands. It's not
- 15:52Speaker 6: normally his game, but good for him to jump in there,
- 15:54Speaker 6: and you know, and then Seattle obviously kept things going
- 15:57Speaker 6: from there.
- 15:57Speaker 2: And this is something that we weren't talking about a
- 15:59Speaker 2: year or go, two years ago, three years ago, Ian
- 16:02Speaker 2: about physicality, about responses here, and I mean the game
- 16:05Speaker 2: has certainly changed now with guys like Ryan Lindgren in
- 16:08Speaker 2: this lineup. So let's talk about this one coming up
- 16:11Speaker 2: here for tonight Washington Capitals. They come in and I
- 16:14Speaker 2: guess who knows if it will be Alex Ovechkin's last
- 16:17Speaker 2: time inside climbing Pledge Arena. He's in the contract year
- 16:21Speaker 2: right now. Cabs have lost five of their last six games.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I mean, different ballgame, I think compared to October when
- 16:27Speaker 2: the Kraken were down three to nothing, it was early.
- 16:30Speaker 2: It was chaotic, sloppy hockey for that month. There was
- 16:33Speaker 2: a team trying to figure some things out. And I
- 16:36Speaker 2: think to me, Ian, this is a game where if
- 16:38Speaker 2: the krack and can survive again period one and stay
- 16:41Speaker 2: out of the box, because you know who's lurking in
- 16:43Speaker 2: the power play, they're going to be in good shape.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I mean, this Caps team can play, but they're having
- 16:48Speaker 2: their ups and downs. They gave Edmonton a strong run
- 16:51Speaker 2: before bouch charda McDavid went off. But the Caps as
- 16:54Speaker 2: of right now six most minor penalties in the NHL
- 16:57Speaker 2: this season. Ian there is opportunity.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Yeah, that was an interesting game that they had. I mean,
- 17:01Speaker 6: by the way, they've also been in Seattle since, you know,
- 17:04Speaker 6: late Saturday night they flew down or I guess early
- 17:06Speaker 6: Sunday morning they got you know, the Seattle They they
- 17:09Speaker 6: left Edmonton and came right to Seattle. So they've been
- 17:11Speaker 6: sitting around waiting for a couple of days here. But
- 17:16Speaker 6: it was an interesting game against Edmonton. I mean, Evan
- 17:19Speaker 6: Bouchard has a six point night, he has a hat trick. Yeah,
- 17:22Speaker 6: you know, it went crazy. You know, mcgavid decided he's
- 17:26Speaker 6: going to tie the goal, tie the game up, because
- 17:27Speaker 6: he's McDavid and that's what he does. But I thought
- 17:31Speaker 6: Washington carried that game. For a chunk of what I saw,
- 17:34Speaker 6: I watched the last two period. I thought Washington kind
- 17:36Speaker 6: of carried it and and and probably deserved a much
- 17:39Speaker 6: better fate. You know, Ryan's brother Charlie was good and
- 17:42Speaker 6: goal good good and goal. I mean, it's weird to
- 17:44Speaker 6: say that. When he get you look at the final numbers,
- 17:46Speaker 6: he's like, man, no, he was good, like he was
- 17:49Speaker 6: really good. I assume they go back to Logan Thompson tonight,
- 17:54Speaker 6: you know, an Olympian in goals. So that's no easy cast.
- 17:58Speaker 6: I just I thought Washington might have been hopped to
- 18:01Speaker 6: bottom if they weren't the better team. They were certainly.
- 18:03Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, they went overtime, so that's an obvious statement,
- 18:06Speaker 6: but they were certainly even with those guys. It'll be
- 18:08Speaker 6: a tough PLF tonight. I guess you know what, God,
- 18:12Speaker 6: I'm gonn, I'm gonna regret this later. Don't don't don't
- 18:14Speaker 6: save this or clip me on of it. I didn't
- 18:17Speaker 6: notice An, you know, I didn't, So that's scary because
- 18:23Speaker 6: we all know what he can do. But I I
- 18:25Speaker 6: there were some other guys that were really, really good
- 18:28Speaker 6: that game for the Capital, So it'll be tough. It'll
- 18:31Speaker 6: be tough one that I'm for sure.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Well, just forget about the last ten seconds of what
- 18:34Speaker 2: you said. Okay, sound goods like that like the audio
- 18:38Speaker 2: version of Men in Black with the wand also you
- 18:41Speaker 2: know what.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I mean, Yeah, thank you, thank you, appreciate it.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Mayor, You're awesome. Have a good show, all right, Mayor,
- 18:49Speaker 2: thank you very much. Appreciate shit Ian for neess once
- 18:52Speaker 2: again from the crack at Hockey Network pregame and a
- 18:54Speaker 2: mission and postgame showed desk. Also, you can hear him
- 18:57Speaker 2: one to three week days on ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Great to have the in finess along with us here
- 19:03Speaker 2: for a few minutes. Well, the focus of this evening's
- 19:06Speaker 2: game for the Kraken is trying to break out of
- 19:08Speaker 2: the three way tie right now clogging up the second
- 19:11Speaker 2: wildcard spot in the Western Conference. The Kraken, tied with
- 19:14Speaker 2: the Kings and Sharks, have fifty five points record of
- 19:18Speaker 2: twenty three nineteen and nine and facing a Capitol's team
- 19:22Speaker 2: that is five points right back of the wildcard cut line.
- 19:25Speaker 2: But it's kind of an illusion because the Capitols just
- 19:28Speaker 2: two points back of third place in the Metro Division
- 19:31Speaker 2: that held by the Islanders, and of course top three
- 19:34Speaker 2: teams in each division are guaranteed a playoff spot, so
- 19:38Speaker 2: the Capitals, despite with just three wins in the last
- 19:40Speaker 2: ten games, are still very much in the mix of
- 19:44Speaker 2: this here. Heading into this game of the record of
- 19:46Speaker 2: twenty five, twenty one, and seven.
- 19:49Speaker 3: The Kracking had a day off here to rest their bodies.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Of course, they're playing seventeen games this month, so nothing
- 19:54Speaker 2: new as far as the injury side of things, But
- 19:57Speaker 2: the Capitols as well going through a bit of a
- 19:59Speaker 2: bump of their own as far as the injury bug.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Defenseman Rasmus san Dean, Matt Roy Deppan Chisholm, and Ford
- 20:05Speaker 2: Tom Wilson reportedly all did not skate in a Monday
- 20:09Speaker 2: practice at Climbate Pledgerina Spencer Carberry punting on any specifics
- 20:14Speaker 2: with their injuries, More news potentially could be coming tomorrow
- 20:18Speaker 2: during the morning skate period. The Capitals, though getting for
- 20:21Speaker 2: Pierre Lout du Blah back out of a non contact jersey.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Du Bois was last seen in game action on Halloween,
- 20:27Speaker 2: suffering an injury against the New York Islanders. He underwent
- 20:31Speaker 2: surgery in early November and the Capitals expect him to
- 20:34Speaker 2: not be available until after the Olympic break. Nonetheless, the
- 20:38Speaker 2: Kraken trying to avenge a loss in their previous matchup
- 20:42Speaker 2: with Washington that was way back on October twenty one,
- 20:46Speaker 2: when the Kraken fell for one of the capitals in
- 20:48Speaker 2: the district, the only goal in that game to Jaden Schwartz.
- 20:52Speaker 2: The Krack and now trying to end a four game
- 20:55Speaker 2: winless skid against Washington.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Schwartz.
- 20:57Speaker 2: By the way Leeds, the Kraken was seventeen points in
- 21:01Speaker 2: just nineteen games against the Capitols alex olvech Gould no surprise,
- 21:06Speaker 2: bit a handful against them, just like virtually any other
- 21:08Speaker 2: team twelve points and nine had to have games against
- 21:12Speaker 2: the Kraken.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Looking forward to having you once again.
- 21:14Speaker 2: We're on air six thirty for your pregame show, served
