- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back, America. We're here with our friend, Congressman Mike Lawler.
- 0:05Speaker 1: And I want to thank you for coming. You're also
- 0:09Speaker 1: on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Congressman, here's my question
- 0:13Speaker 1: to you. You're in a tough district. You know, it
- 0:17Speaker 1: leans Democrat, but you've got a lot of blue-collar workers,
- 0:20Speaker 1: cops and firefighters, thank goodness. And you also have a
- 0:24Speaker 1: bird's-eye view of what takes place in the city. I mean,
- 0:27Speaker 1: in the city with Mondami. You famously, with Mike Johnson,
- 0:32Speaker 1: the speaker, confronted basically the rioters at Columbia and so
- 0:36Speaker 1: forth very bravely. So here's my question to you. As
- 0:39Speaker 1: you're watching all this and it affects your district and
- 0:41Speaker 1: the people in your district, how do you think they
- 0:45Speaker 1: feel about a Hassan Piker with the 25th anniversary of
- 0:48Speaker 1: 9-11 coming and this guy says we deserved it? Or
- 0:53Speaker 1: the other outrageous things he says and but. It'd be
- 0:56Speaker 1: one thing if he was a podcaster out there by himself,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but he is literally embraced by the Democrats and the
- 1:02Speaker 1: Democrat Party. They're trying to play games and step back
- 1:05Speaker 1: a little bit, but he is them. What do you
- 1:08Speaker 1: think the people in your district think about this?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Well, Mark, in my district, 50 percent of households have
- 1:14Speaker 2: a cop, a firefighter, a veteran living in the household.
- 1:18Speaker 2: And obviously, with the 25th anniversary of 9-11, my district,
- 1:24Speaker 2: my community, my constituents were deeply impacted by what happened
- 1:28Speaker 2: that day. And we are still losing people to 9-11
- 1:32Speaker 2: health-related illnesses. And the fact that you have someone who
- 1:36Speaker 2: is becoming in many respects, a spokesperson for the Democratic
- 1:40Speaker 2: Party in Hassan Piker saying that America deserved 9-11 or
- 1:46Speaker 2: that if you support Israel as a Jew in America,
- 1:50Speaker 2: you should expect some type of violence against you. I mean,
- 1:55Speaker 2: this guy is absolutely insane. And yet, that's what's at stake, Mark.
- 2:00Speaker 2: This is about common sense versus crazy, common sense versus communism.
- 2:07Speaker 2: The fact is that the Democratic Party is quickly being
- 2:12Speaker 2: taken over by these radical socialists. Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck
- 2:16Speaker 2: Schumer are useless. They don't have a backbone. They don't
- 2:19Speaker 2: stand for anything. If I asked you what is it
- 2:22Speaker 2: that they're running on other than I hate Trump, they
- 2:25Speaker 2: don't have a platform. They don't have policies that they're
- 2:27Speaker 2: advocating for. If I asked you what is Zoran Mamdani, AOC,
- 2:32Speaker 2: and Bernie Sanders and the DSA advocating for, you could
- 2:35Speaker 2: rattle off 10 things easily. Defund the police. Abolish ICE.
- 2:39Speaker 2: increased taxes by trillions of dollars, a government takeover of
- 2:44Speaker 2: our health care system, sanctuary state policies. These are the
- 2:48Speaker 2: things that they're advocating for. And by the way, Mark,
- 2:51Speaker 2: my opponent, Kate Conley, who says she's a moderate, she
- 2:55Speaker 2: supports a government takeover of health care. She supports Kathy
- 2:58Speaker 2: Hochul's disastrous new sanctuary state law that prohibits local law
- 3:02Speaker 2: enforcement from turning over criminal illegal aliens to the federal government.
- 3:08Speaker 2: She supports increasing taxes by $ 4 trillion. So, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: the fact is, these are the policies that they are
- 3:15Speaker 2: running on. The DSA platform is the mainstream of the
- 3:19Speaker 2: Democratic Party today. And there's only a handful of Democrats
- 3:22Speaker 2: pushing back. Josh Gottheimer, one of my closest friends in Congress,
- 3:27Speaker 2: has been the loudest voice pushing back against this insanity movement.
- 3:30Speaker 2: within the Democratic Party, and especially around Hassan Piker. Josh
- 3:35Speaker 2: and I introduced a resolution together condemning him, and I
- 3:39Speaker 2: hope Congress will take it up. This lunatic has no
- 3:42Speaker 2: place in our politics.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Josh has stepped up, very impressively so, and a
- 3:47Speaker 1: handful of other Democrats, Moskowitz and Fetterman and so forth,
- 3:51Speaker 1: but very few. Richie Torres is another one who has
- 3:55Speaker 1: spoken up. I mean, remarkable. He comes from a very
- 3:58Speaker 1: tough district from my perspective. But all that said, you're right.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The leadership of the Democrat Party, all they keep talking
- 4:05Speaker 1: about is a big tent. Since when do you have
- 4:07Speaker 1: a big tent? A big tent for Islamists who are
- 4:11Speaker 1: talking about we deserve 9-11. Since when do you have?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. Let's talk about Medicare for all.
- 4:18Speaker 1: would eliminate private health care. So all these cops and
- 4:21Speaker 1: firefighters you have in your district, they would lose the
- 4:25Speaker 1: health care that their unions have negotiated for, as would
- 4:29Speaker 1: everybody else. Private health care is off the table. Those
- 4:32Speaker 1: negotiated agreements are off the table. Illegal aliens will be
- 4:35Speaker 1: taking Medicare the way the Democrats have pushed for them
- 4:38Speaker 1: to be in Medicaid. It will break the back of Medicare.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So I want to pursue that with you. The Democrats
- 4:44Speaker 1: think they're onto a hot issue, Medicare for all. Doesn't
- 4:47Speaker 1: it really mean Medicare for none and the destruction of
- 4:50Speaker 1: our health care system, much like Obamacare? We'll be right back.
