John 11:17 So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Jesus waited two days before beginning the trip to Bethany (vs. 6), and apparently it took two days to travel to Bethany. For Lazarus to be in the tomb 4 days means that he died the day Jesus heard that he was sick. Mary and Martha must have sent word two days before he died because we assume it also took them two days of travel. That’s six days of waiting for Mary and Martha to hear from Jesus. How long have we waited to hear from Jesus when we’ve been desperate for His presence and comfort in our storm?…
