  [SPEAKER_00]: He's up there in age now, 33 years old, just turn 33 in February.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Vikings have made it known that he's either going to be released or they're going to trade him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: report that they put out there that it's it's basically like, you know, if somebody would like to offer us anything, we'll gladly take it, but otherwise we're going to have to release Javan Hargrave.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And to me, looking at Javan Hargrave asking the question, should the Jack Wars have interest in potentially trading for him or,

  [SPEAKER_00]: and earn us, you know, for agency starting with the legal tampering period, teams right now they can't agree to trades, they can't be executed until the start of the league year, which is next Wednesday, March 11th.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so things can be agreed upon right now, but nothing will be official until March 11th.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, you can sign free agents, starting March 9th, you know, sign, it's not really signing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's agreeing to sign and then March 11th is when it actually takes place, but Javan Hargrave, if he were to be released, would not be subject to having to wait if the Vikings went ahead and released him before the start of legal tampering or the league year, whatever

  [SPEAKER_00]: the jags would be able to agree in earned or not in principle to a deal with Javan Hargrave.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Same like Bradley Chub who was released, things wouldn't be official I don't believe until March 11th, but you're going to go ahead and agree and negotiate with these guys and then just make it official, start of the New League year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: skill set, just as a dominant past rush or I mean, from 2019 to 2023, nice five-year run.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, 2024 dealt with some injury in San Francisco and it up with the Vikings in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Vikings season did not go how folks expected it, how folks inside that building expected it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, things are not looking great in Minnesota.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I do think that they could quickly turn things around if they can just figure out the quarterback position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Funny thing is the quarterback they had in 2024, just wanted Super Bowl with Seattle Seahawks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So if the Jack Wars were going to trade for him, why would you be doing that?

  [SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, it's because you need more interior past rush juice.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you add a Javon Hargrave,

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're getting a vet.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're getting somebody who probably wants to go win a ring to end their career in the next few years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a type of player that could play a lot longer.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's still playing at a high enough level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he would clearly be the Jaguar's best interior past Russia right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if you're going to trade for him, that means you have to worry about

  [SPEAKER_00]: the contract, and the Javan Hargrave contract, well, it could be better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Cap number in 2026 is $21.453 million.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Over $21 million, almost $21.5.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so to trade for them, you're going to have to figure something out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like either the Vikings are going to have to eat some of that, or you're going to have to trade for them and immediately rework that contract.

  [SPEAKER_00]: lower that cap number because that's just probably an untenable cap number now if the Vikings end up releasing him then you can work out whatever you want to work out with him and and and you don't have to worry about his prior contract but the advantage of trading for him is you don't have to compete for him on the open market

  [SPEAKER_00]: Definitely not as much as there would have been a couple years ago, but still, I think multiple teams would be interested in adding a Javan Hargrave level interior past Russia where he is at this point in his career, which I still think would be by far the Jaguar's best interior russia, and would help them on past rushing downs in a big way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: not at the peak of his powers anymore, but it's still just better than what the Jaguar's have.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just think, committing to the, I mean, unless you have a, this great plan for a rework contract that makes a lot of sense under the cap rate.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Javan Hargrave, if he's traded for or released, will not impact the compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you're wanting to play that game right now, because you have Devon Lloyd, who is probably, if you let him walk, would probably earn you a,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Third, or fourth round compensatory pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN, if he walks, could potentially earn you a seventh round, compensatory pick, and then you also have two corners who it's possible they could get into that range to earn you a compensatory picking, regnism, and buster round.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the most likely thing is Devon Lloyd with a third round pick, Travis YouTube with a seventh round pick that you would be getting back in 2027 with the Comp pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then Buster Brown and Greg News and I don't think they would probably earn enough of a contract to impact the Comp pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the Jack Wars, they should be playing the Comp pick formula because they're a team that if they want to be aggressive this year, they can be

  [SPEAKER_00]: in your back pocket, a third round pick in 2027 and a seventh round pick from the compensatory picks, that helps you be more aggressive right now, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: To have that draft capital in the future that you're banking on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Javan Hargrave falls in line with that certainly so does Bradley Chubb, but there's other guys as well that you'll be able to sign that will help you certainly that there might not be as much competition

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he would be your best interior past Russia, as I mentioned.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you're adding someone that old, and he's younger than me, so old is relative, we're talking about the NFL here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you just say, we got Jamon Hargryff, we don't need to worry about interior defensive line in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: at least eight guys up front that you can rotate in and then they can just go kick some ass and and not all of them are going to have the same skill sets all that stuff right but jim on hargrabs going to soup up your pass rush a little bit for sure if you go get them so I'd be interested and if you wanted to give up a seventh round pick to eliminate the ability for other teams to get in on it and and then you have this plan for the new contract

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they might upgrade through veterans and the draft, which I think is a smart play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've been advocating for Colleys Campbell since the day he left Jacksonville to come back to Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's still playing in a high level, so there's not just one player, there's not just one player that can come in and get the job done and help you from an interior defensive line standpoint and free agency or trade market, etc.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I've seen with the drawn-hard grave situation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Would like to see him in Teele, not the only option, though.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if that's the direction James Gladstone and Liam going want to go, Anthony Campanile, yeah, I'd buy into that.
