• 2:44
Speaker 4: Welcome to the show.
• 2:45
Speaker 5: Good morning, thanks for having.
• 2:46
Speaker 4: Me, Thank you for being here. So tell us you've
• 2:50
Speaker 4: been I've been here in the past talking about talk
• 2:53
Speaker 4: about it a little bit more so.
• 2:54
Speaker 3: No, I was here in November to talk about our
• 2:56
  Speaker 3: fortieth anniversary festival.
• 2:58
Speaker 5: Right, yeah, we had over at park Place.
• 2:59
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it was the one time thing. You're right, okay, sorry, no.
• 3:01
  Speaker 5: And it's it's fine.
• 3:02
Speaker 3: You know, we have an ongoing you know, every year
• 3:04
Speaker 3: around Cinema as well that we operate. And what we
• 3:06
Speaker 3: have coming up next weeknd is our annual Oscar party fund.
• 3:10
Speaker 4: Right, Okay, it's just a fundraiser. Okay, So what exactly
• 3:13
Speaker 4: is going to go on here?
• 3:14
Speaker 3: So starting at six o'clock, you know, you can show
• 3:17
Speaker 3: up at Taylor Books over there in the cafe. We'll
• 3:19
Speaker 3: have a big screen set up to watch the Oscars
• 3:21
Speaker 3: and the Red Carpet before that, and I we'll have
• 3:24
Speaker 3: some music and some food and you know, just hang
• 3:26
Speaker 3: out and watch the Oscars all together and you know,
• 3:29
  Speaker 3: celebrate movies.
• 3:30
Speaker 4: And it's no coincidence it's being held on Oscar night, right, correct,
• 3:34
Speaker 4: That's that's a good time to have it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 3:36
Speaker 4: So have you done things in the past?
• 3:38
Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, we usually do this every year.
• 3:40
Speaker 6: Okay, it's how many year?
• 3:41
Speaker 4: How many years? Approximately?
• 3:42
  Speaker 3: Oh golly, I don't I don't know. I've only been
• 3:45
Speaker 3: involved since like twenty seven.
• 3:46
  Speaker 7: Kay.
• 3:46
Speaker 4: We're the films in black and white.
• 3:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if they ever were for some
• 3:51
Speaker 3: of them were you know, Schindler's listen ninety three, that
• 3:53
Speaker 3: was pretty recent, Black and point one. Yeah, and there's
• 3:55
Speaker 3: probably a couple this year nominated. Yeah, certain cutting.
• 3:58
Speaker 4: Now have you actually seen all the films that are nominated?
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: I have.
• 4:01
Speaker 3: I think this is the first year I've seen all
• 4:03
Speaker 3: the Best Picture nominees before they were even announced. You know,
• 4:05
Speaker 3: some years have to catch up when you don't well.
• 4:08
Speaker 4: And what happens is and I'm not is obviously the
• 4:11
Speaker 4: big movie gay like you are. But what what happens
• 4:13
Speaker 4: frequently is that you know, some of these movies aren't
• 4:16
Speaker 4: available in your local theater sometimes and you got to
• 4:18
Speaker 4: kind of go, you got to go travel to see
• 4:20
  Speaker 4: them somewhere.
• 4:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, Rigo and Nitro is actually playing all
• 4:24
  Speaker 3: ten Best.
• 4:24
Speaker 5: Picture of Autists this week.
• 4:25
  Speaker 4: That's cool.
• 4:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you've missed some and you want to
• 4:27
Speaker 3: see them in the theater, you know that there are
• 4:29
Speaker 3: a couple of them that, like, we've been the only
• 4:31
Speaker 3: ones to show in the Charleston area, and there's a
• 4:34
Speaker 3: couple that never showed here during their regular runs.
• 4:37
Speaker 4: So okay, now, what of the Best Picture nominees, what
• 4:39
  Speaker 4: was your favorite?
• 4:40
  Speaker 8: Uh?
• 4:41
Speaker 3: My favorite is probably still a Hamnet, but you know,
• 4:43
Speaker 3: maybe Cinema Value or Bagonia as well, but I think
• 4:47
Speaker 3: probably one Battle after another or Sinners is gonna win.
• 4:50
  Speaker 4: I I've heard a lot of chatter around Centers. I
• 4:53
Speaker 4: haven't seen any of the movies I do. I plan
• 4:56
Speaker 4: to see Centers. That's one I do want to see.
• 4:58
Speaker 4: I've heard a lot of chatter about it, and you said,
• 5:00
Speaker 4: you saw, what did you think of it? No, it's
• 5:01
  Speaker 4: really good.
• 5:02
Speaker 3: I'm not the horror fan, so it's not necessarily one
• 5:05
Speaker 3: that I would pick personally. But there's a lot to
• 5:08
Speaker 3: like about it. So, I mean, it is really well made,
• 5:10
Speaker 3: really well produced, a lot of great music, a lot
• 5:12
Speaker 3: of great music in it.
• 5:13
Speaker 4: It is interesting to me because you know, entertainment Delford
• 5:17
Speaker 4: has changed so much with streaming, you know, especially television shows.
• 5:22
Speaker 4: If you look at when the Emmys come out, you
• 5:24
Speaker 4: know a lot of times you may look at them,
• 5:26
Speaker 4: people may look at them and say, well, where do
• 5:29
Speaker 4: I even find this shows? It's not the three networks
• 5:32
Speaker 4: anymore or four networks. You know, it's on streaming. It's
• 5:34
  Speaker 4: on this.
• 5:34
Speaker 3: Service that service well, and three of the Best Picture
• 5:37
Speaker 3: nominees Frankenstein, F one and Train Dreams, where you know
• 5:41
Speaker 3: streaming releases that only had, you know, the minimum theatrical
• 5:45
Speaker 3: runs that they needed to.
• 5:47
Speaker 4: Qualify for the autumn, the minimum that they have to Oh, I.
• 5:49
Speaker 3: Don't know, it's not very much, but that like Frankenstein
• 5:52
Speaker 3: played and the closest it played was in Athens for
• 5:55
Speaker 3: like a week, So.
• 5:56
  Speaker 4: Athens, Ohio.
• 5:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, yeah, it's college town. I figure it would
• 6:00
Speaker 5: play up there, right, yeah. And then F one was
• 6:04
Speaker 5: straight to Apple and Train Dreams straight and.
• 6:05
  Speaker 4: That it's amazing how much it's changed. I mean, I
• 6:09
Speaker 4: talk a lot about how much the music industry has
• 6:11
Speaker 4: changes because I've been doing this for thirty eight years almost,
• 6:14
Speaker 4: and I remember, you know, the Billboard Hot one hundred
• 6:17
Speaker 4: and Casey Caseum and radio and records, and that's all
• 6:20
Speaker 4: changed now because it's everything's based on not even based
• 6:23
Speaker 4: on sales as much as it is downloads. And now
• 6:25
Speaker 4: we're seeing the same thing with movies and television. I
• 6:27
Speaker 4: think music, you know, it comes out to streaming probably first,
• 6:30
  Speaker 4: right yeah, yeah.
• 6:31
Speaker 5: And then you go see the artists, you know, live.
• 6:34
Speaker 4: Yeah, and you just don't go buy CDs anymore.
• 6:37
Speaker 3: Yeah, And then you know, I still believe that going
• 6:42
Speaker 3: to the movies is like as a different experience than
• 6:44
  Speaker 3: watching it at.
• 6:45
Speaker 4: Home, you know, one of the films that we had
• 6:49
Speaker 4: a text about the show to the show about this
• 6:51
  Speaker 4: not long ago.
• 6:52
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 6:52
  Speaker 4: I'm a big Elvis fan. I always. I grew up
• 6:55
Speaker 4: in a house of Elvis everything, Elvis everything. And I
• 6:58
Speaker 4: saw the picture a couple of years ago that they
• 7:00
Speaker 4: did with Tom Hanks playing Colonel you know, Tom Parker.
• 7:03
Speaker 4: And the same guy who did that, Boz Luhrman, has
• 7:06
Speaker 4: done this Elvis concert film now. And I was talking
• 7:09
Speaker 4: to a friend of mine the other day that went
• 7:11
Speaker 4: to see it. He was the only person in the theater,
• 7:13
Speaker 4: he said, so I could sing along with it. But
• 7:15
Speaker 4: that's a kind of movie I think that you would really,
• 7:18
Speaker 4: I mean what I've been told about it. You really
• 7:20
Speaker 4: need to see it in a theater.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, I have not seen that one, but yeah, I
• 7:23
Speaker 3: know somebody who went to see it and they really
• 7:25
Speaker 3: enjoyed it. But like I went to see in January
• 7:27
Speaker 3: all three Lord of the Rings films in cinemas again
• 7:31
Speaker 3: and that was quite an audience there for that those
• 7:33
  Speaker 3: three nights.
• 7:34
Speaker 4: So again we're talking with Delfrid Chafin about this big
• 7:36
Speaker 4: Oscar party that they're going to have their fundraiser and
• 7:39
Speaker 4: talk about when you raise funds where they go for
• 7:43
  Speaker 4: the festival.
• 7:44
Speaker 3: So well, last year was actually yeah, so last year
• 7:47
Speaker 3: you know again prettyone who doesn't know. We have a
• 7:49
Speaker 3: small thirty seat theater underneath Taylor Books and last year
• 7:53
Speaker 3: we kicked off a fundraiser at our Oscar party to
• 7:56
Speaker 3: replace the seats in there. So we finally got that
• 7:59
Speaker 3: aunt of money raised, and then it took you know
• 8:03
Speaker 3: what nine months for the seats to actually be manufactured
• 8:05
Speaker 3: and shipped here. So we actually finally got those installed
• 8:08
Speaker 3: in January. So that's you know, just the money, the
• 8:13
Speaker 3: money we raise goes to continue our operations. You know,
• 8:16
Speaker 3: it allows us to play movies here that don't get
• 8:19
Speaker 3: shown here very often.
• 8:20
Speaker 5: Like I said, we.
• 8:22
Speaker 3: As of this weekend we have played all five best
• 8:24
Speaker 3: international feature films, the only place in Charleston show all
• 8:28
Speaker 3: those and you know, just all the money we raise
• 8:31
Speaker 3: goes to you know, back into our facilities and allows
• 8:33
Speaker 3: us to keep throwing what we do.
• 8:35
Speaker 4: Talking to a Delf Chafing against nine to sixteen of

  Speaker 6: Next.
• 9:00
Speaker 3: So it's at Oscar at the Taylor Books in the cafe.
• 9:02
Speaker 3: It starts We're going to open the doors about six.
• 9:05
Speaker 3: The oscars start at seven. We have food coming from
• 9:08
Speaker 3: bricks and barrels and then some desserts coming from MIA's Panaderia,
• 9:13
Speaker 3: which I'm sure I'm not sure I pronounced that correct.
• 9:16
Speaker 3: But you know it's gonna be some great food and
• 9:18
Speaker 3: just some great time watching the movies.
• 9:20
Speaker 4: And where do you people get tickets? Do they need
• 9:22
Speaker 4: to get him in advance?

Speaker 4: All right, And starts at six six o'clock. The doors
• 9:30
Speaker 4: will open at six, right, and the in the oscars,
• 9:33
Speaker 4: Conan is Conan O'Brien is hosting again. What do you
• 9:35
Speaker 4: think of Conan as a host.
• 9:36
  Speaker 3: He's a pretty funny guy. I don't have strong opinions
• 9:39
Speaker 3: on the host either way.
• 9:40
Speaker 4: So yeah, well I think sometimes we which you have
• 9:43
Speaker 4: a lot of award shows, is you have the host
• 9:45
Speaker 4: that tries to take over the show. And one of
• 9:47
Speaker 4: the things I like about Conan is that he knows
• 9:50
  Speaker 4: the role.
• 9:50
Speaker 5: You know, he can.
• 9:51
Speaker 4: He can do his little funnies here and there, but
• 9:53
Speaker 4: primarily it's about the pictures.
• 9:54
Speaker 3: He was in one of the films this year that
• 9:56
Speaker 3: was you know, he was in If I head legs,
• 9:59
Speaker 3: I'd Kick You, which burn is nominated for US.
• 10:01
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, good stuff, Delfred, I appreciate you being

• 12:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, honestly, I he wasn't paid attention. That's fine, that's fine.
• 12:47
Speaker 4: Apparently a lot of people were. I've only been to
• 12:49
Speaker 4: the movies like one time in the last ten years. Really,
• 12:52
Speaker 4: what did you see?
• 12:53
Speaker 13: And it was that one? It was it was on
• 12:55
Speaker 13: Christmas Day. We went out in the evening and watched
• 12:58
Speaker 13: whatever that movie was, and I think it maybe he
• 13:01
Speaker 13: was nominated for something. But honestly, I just don't watch. Yeah,
• 13:05
Speaker 13: I don't have the attention span. I wish I did. Uh.
• 13:10
Speaker 4: Now, I'll watch the classics. I mean, oh yeah, anytime
• 13:13
Speaker 4: I'm flipping, I mean, my wife knows. You know, what's
• 13:16
Speaker 4: gonna happen when Caddy Shack is on, you know, the
• 13:18
Speaker 4: cinema greats Caddy Shack.
• 13:21
Speaker 13: I'm trying to smoking a bandit of course, oh kid, Yeah,
• 13:25
Speaker 13: for me, it is always dumb and Dumber. Dumb and
• 13:28
  Speaker 13: Dumber's on. I'm watching. Yeah, I don't care. Godfather, well,
• 13:32
Speaker 13: oh yeah, one and two, yeah, number three, play three.
• 13:36
Speaker 13: So those are the ones that I always anytime a
• 13:39
Speaker 13: Christmas story is on. I watched I'm anything to do
• 13:43
Speaker 13: with the Mob. I'm good, good Fellows, Uh a casino,
• 13:47
Speaker 13: any of those? Uh you mentioned Godfather. I'm a big
• 13:51
Speaker 13: fan of Wall Street because oh greed, greed is good
• 13:54
Speaker 13: in and of itself is good. Gordon Gekko.
• 13:57
Speaker 4: This concludes, Uh, film time with school neighbor. All right,
• 14:02
Speaker 4: A couple of things I want to talk to you about.
• 14:03
Speaker 4: Ben You the Commission put out a release last week
• 14:06
Speaker 4: opposing Mountaineer gas rate hike requestions about that.
• 14:12
Speaker 13: Well, people have rate height fatigue, you know, in Kannawll County,
• 14:15
Speaker 13: and that's it's honest, all over the state of West Virginia.
• 14:17
Speaker 13: But we are seeing it time and time again. It
• 14:19
Speaker 13: doesn't matter you pick your favorite utility. They're coming into
• 14:21
Speaker 13: the Public Service Commission and they're always asking for rate increases.
• 14:26
  Speaker 13: Uh Mountaineer Gas.
• 14:27
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 14:27
Speaker 13: I think it was about I forget what percentage points,
• 14:30
Speaker 13: but it was you know, millions and millions of dollars.
• 14:32
Speaker 5: It's going to be hung on the.
• 14:33
Speaker 13: Back of everyone in West Virginia, but also in Kanall
• 14:38
Speaker 13: County that they're gonna it's going to increase the monthly bill.
• 14:41
Speaker 13: And right now everything is going up. Uh, cost of
• 14:44
Speaker 13: goods are going up. We're watching, you know, the news
• 14:46
Speaker 13: of gas are going up. Everything's going up. And so
• 14:49
Speaker 13: typically the game that they play, and it's not just
• 14:51
Speaker 13: Mountaineer gas, it's all utilities. They will come in and
• 14:53
Speaker 13: OI ask for multiples of what they actually need, knowing
• 14:57
Speaker 13: that the Public Service Commission and by the way, that's
• 15:00
Speaker 13: not the Kanawak County Commission. People get that public Service
• 15:04
Speaker 13: Commissions because you guys are elected, you're actually elected, and
• 15:08
Speaker 13: they will ask for multiples of what they actually need,
• 15:11
Speaker 13: understanding that the Public Service Commission is not going to
• 15:13
Speaker 13: get them everything. But then they walk out with maybe
• 15:17
Speaker 13: half of what they requested it and so they actually
• 15:19
Speaker 13: are satisfied with what they received. So the problem is
• 15:23
Speaker 13: that this is going on over and over and over
• 15:26
Speaker 13: and people's utility bills have doubled and tripled and quadrupled.
• 15:31
Speaker 13: I got my electric bill the other day and I
• 15:32
Speaker 13: was shocked how high it was. I couldn't believe it.
• 15:35
Speaker 13: Like I went back through the history of the last
• 15:37
Speaker 13: few years of paying my electric It had never been
• 15:39
Speaker 13: that high, and that's what we're seeing. You know, Western
• 15:41
Speaker 13: India has you know, the highest utilities in the nation,
• 15:44
Speaker 13: and just rate increase after rate increase. It's not sustainable.
• 15:48
Speaker 13: People can't pay it. People can't make the decision, oh,
• 15:51
Speaker 13: I'm not going to have my medicine this month because
• 15:53
Speaker 13: I have to pay my gas bill and my electric bill.
• 15:56
  Speaker 13: And that's that's what they're facing. It's just not sustainable.
• 15:59
Speaker 13: So we're we're opposing it. We have over the last
• 16:02
Speaker 13: few years, you know, even before I was on a commission.
• 16:06
Speaker 13: We'll go up to the Public Service Commission and testify
• 16:09
Speaker 13: because we get a lot of the complaints. You know,
• 16:11
Speaker 13: kind of where the commission I say that the county
• 16:14
Speaker 13: commissions and municipality is kind of where the rubber meets
• 16:17
Speaker 13: the road. That's where people go and they make their complaints,
• 16:20
Speaker 13: even if it's a bigger issue, a state issue. You know,
• 16:23
Speaker 13: if there's a pothole in a state road, well, guess what,
• 16:26
Speaker 13: the county doesn't maintain any roads, thankfully, but you know,
• 16:30
Speaker 13: we will get that and we will pass it on
• 16:31
Speaker 13: to the appropriate body. But the same thing with utility
• 16:35
Speaker 13: rate hikes, people are sick of it and something has
• 16:38
Speaker 13: to be done. There has to be more torm, There
• 16:39
Speaker 13: has to be some public service commission could be elected.
• 16:43
Speaker 13: You think they should be, you know, I don't know.
• 16:45
Speaker 13: I think it would if anyone would ever serve a
• 16:49
  Speaker 13: second term, that.
• 16:50
Speaker 4: Would be amazing, term limited to themselves.
• 16:53
Speaker 13: I think it would be term limited. I'm not sure
• 16:55
Speaker 13: that that's the answer, but because then it would never
• 17:00
Speaker 13: approve a rate increase. And then sometimes honestly, it's required,
• 17:05
Speaker 13: like you just have to have the maintenance, you know,
• 17:08
Speaker 13: particularly you talking about the power coming of vegetation maintenance.
• 17:10
Speaker 13: You've got trees coming down and limbs coming down and
• 17:13
Speaker 13: knocking poles and lines out. I understand. And their costs
• 17:18
Speaker 13: go up too. But when you see, you know, ce
• 17:21
Speaker 13: Is or Sehos are taking on forty fifty sixty million
• 17:23
Speaker 13: a year and then they're coming and asking for more
• 17:26
Speaker 13: money from RED, it's a it's tough to swallow. So
• 17:31
Speaker 13: I see points on both sides of it. And thankfully
• 17:34
Speaker 13: I'm not in the legislature and have to make that call.
• 17:37
Speaker 4: Are you good to take a phone call? Speaking of call? Sure,
• 17:38
Speaker 4: somebody absolutely, somebody had a question for you. Let's go
• 17:41
Speaker 4: to Bob and Charleston. You're on with Benzelingko. Go ahead.
• 17:45
Speaker 8: Well, my question was about Iran blocking the straits of
• 17:51
Speaker 8: horror moves. I'm puzzled by that is. The reason they
• 17:54
Speaker 8: can block that is because they consider that their territorial
• 17:59
Speaker 8: waters and nobody would be allowed in it without their permission.
• 18:03
Speaker 13: Yeah, and you know, I heard that Hoppy Kirchible was
• 18:06
Speaker 13: going to do a segment today on the Iran issue,
• 18:09
Speaker 13: and he'll probably talk about that. My understanding is that's
• 18:12
Speaker 13: exactly why they do it, but that's kind of out
• 18:15
Speaker 13: of the purview of the count County Commission, you know,
• 18:17
Speaker 13: talking about escalating things even further. I mean, it's already
• 18:20
Speaker 13: seemingly as bad as he can get over there, but
• 18:23
Speaker 13: you know, blocking that and we'll make it escalate even further.
• 18:28
  Speaker 8: Thank you?
• 18:28
Speaker 6: All right? All right?
• 18:30
Speaker 4: Anything new on the Sports Center?
• 18:33
Speaker 13: Yeah, so, I think there's still negotiations between the city
• 18:35
Speaker 13: and the whole group to try to determine whether or
• 18:38
Speaker 13: not part or all of them all will be gifted
• 18:41
Speaker 13: donated to the city. If that happens, then we will
• 18:45
Speaker 13: reconfigure the design to make it a one level, which
• 18:49
Speaker 13: will save money and we'll be able to kind of
• 18:52
Speaker 13: probably make it bigger than we would have in the beginning,
• 18:55
Speaker 13: but I think that's kind of what we're waiting on now.
• 18:57
Speaker 13: So we receive the federally Directed Spending Center Capitol, thank
• 19:06
Speaker 13: you so much. That was seven million dollars. That kind
• 19:08
Speaker 13: of put us over where we needed to be on
• 19:10
Speaker 13: the funding side, and now we're just waiting to see
• 19:12
Speaker 13: kind of what it's going to look like. If the
• 19:15
Speaker 13: whole group donates them all and then it'll be one level,
• 19:18
Speaker 13: it'll be larger. If they don't, then it'll be multi
• 19:23
Speaker 13: levels like we had in an initial drawing.
• 19:25
Speaker 4: Let's talk about jail bills. Jail bills, the commissioner are
• 19:29
Speaker 4: something that every county, all fifty five county commission's battle
• 19:33
Speaker 4: with and trying to get them under control.
• 19:36
Speaker 13: It's one of the county's biggest expenses. Is you know,
• 19:41
Speaker 13: we got hit with the increase in the jail bill
• 19:43
Speaker 13: increase in PA, so we're kind of upside down on
• 19:46
Speaker 13: our budget to the tune of about seven hundred grand.
• 19:48
Speaker 13: I think we've cut back on that. We got some
• 19:50
Speaker 13: more final numbers on the revenue side last week, so
• 19:53
Speaker 13: we're probably looking at closer to six hundred grand, and
• 19:56
Speaker 13: we'll be able to we'll be able to fix that.
• 19:59
Speaker 13: There'll be cuts just to make that happen. But the
• 20:02
Speaker 13: jail bill is our biggest expense. It's about five million
• 20:07
Speaker 13: dollars a year. You think that through, that's four hundred
• 20:10
Speaker 13: thousand dollars a month is what we're paying. So when
• 20:13
Speaker 13: someone is arrested the gun front or a magistrate and
• 20:15
Speaker 13: then they're kind of held awaiting trial, that adds to
• 20:21
Speaker 13: the county. It's I think it's sixty seven dollars and
• 20:24
Speaker 13: twenty three cents per day per inmate, and that adds
• 20:30
Speaker 13: up to about four hundred thousand a month. And so
• 20:33
Speaker 13: that's not sustainable because it's not going down. It just
• 20:35
Speaker 13: continues to rise. And so two years from now it
• 20:38
Speaker 13: could be six million or seven million a year. When
• 20:42
Speaker 13: we do that, we can't have money for other things
• 20:44
Speaker 13: like pay raises to employees or critical funding ems funny,
• 20:49
Speaker 13: those types of things. So we have to make some decisions.
• 20:52
Speaker 13: One of the things that we had proposed, and this
• 20:53
Speaker 13: was not quite frankly, it was not my idea. It
• 20:56
Speaker 13: was the Center for Budget and Policy came out with
• 21:00
Speaker 13: a paper in the fall of twenty twenty four and
• 21:05
Speaker 13: it was written by Sarah Whittaker and it had a
• 21:10
Speaker 13: lot of good ideas for counties to reduce your jail bill.
• 21:12
Speaker 4: So we took that.
• 21:14
Speaker 13: I took that one weekend and just started tinkering with
• 21:17
Speaker 13: it to modify it to what would that look like
• 21:19
Speaker 13: in Conaw County. And so we came up with a
• 21:23
Speaker 13: task force that's going to be funded with opio money.
• 21:25
Speaker 13: It will help with opio reduction but also with decreasing
• 21:28
Speaker 13: the jail bill costs. The goal is to have essentially
• 21:31
Speaker 13: four people that will review daily incarcerations to make recommendations
• 21:36
Speaker 13: as to whether or not this if it's whether this
• 21:40
Speaker 13: person should be in jail or lease less you know,
• 21:48
Speaker 13: lesser options like home confinement or some of the other
• 21:52
Speaker 13: things that we can do there to reduce So basically
• 21:55
Speaker 13: they get out. If it's a non violent crime, they
• 21:59
Speaker 13: would be. They would not be incarcerated awaiting trial. Only
• 22:02
Speaker 13: after trial would they be if they're convicted. And so
• 22:05
Speaker 13: the goal is to you know, keep people safe because
• 22:09
Speaker 13: we're dealing with most of those like petty crimes or
• 22:12
Speaker 13: like minor drug offenses, those types of things. Nothing nothing harsh,
• 22:15
Speaker 13: no felonies, nothing like that that will not be affected
• 22:18
Speaker 13: by this, basically to save the county money, to get
• 22:21
Speaker 13: people out, to get them into the you know, job programs,
• 22:25
Speaker 13: and home confinement if necessary.
• 22:28
Speaker 4: Talking to, you know, with Kannak County Commissioned President of
• 22:30
Speaker 4: Ben Slango, Texas, David Commissioner Selango. If we have the coal,
• 22:34
Speaker 4: why don't we have the high why do we have
• 22:35
Speaker 4: the highest electricity cost? If we have the water? Are
• 22:38
Speaker 4: water rates so high? He say, it's because we're so
• 22:40
Speaker 4: hilly in transmission lines and water lines are so difficult
• 22:42
Speaker 4: to maintain, and are politicians need to figure out a
• 22:45
Speaker 4: way to make the electric and water companies figure out
• 22:47
Speaker 4: how to spread the wealth so we don't shoulder the burden.
• 22:49
Speaker 4: It's the same electricity, it's the same water.
• 22:52
Speaker 13: Well, you know, I agree. I think a lot of
• 22:54
Speaker 13: it is infrastructure. I think we have very old infrastructure.
• 22:58
Speaker 13: We have very old water lines, which we see time
• 23:00
Speaker 13: and time again. We have a lot of the utility
• 23:03
Speaker 13: lines were run forever ago and they're failing and there's
• 23:08
Speaker 13: there's simply not enough money to go in and fix
• 23:10
Speaker 13: it all at once. And you know, I've watched that
• 23:12
Speaker 13: report on McDowell County and it's it's heartbreaking what's going
• 23:15
Speaker 13: on in McDowell County that we can't somehow come up
• 23:18
Speaker 13: with a way to help them. And but you're seeing
• 23:22
Speaker 13: that not just to mcdowll. You're seeing it elsewhere and
• 23:24
Speaker 13: it's a shame. But it is because of our archaic
• 23:27
Speaker 13: and infrastructure and it just has not was not maintained
• 23:30
  Speaker 13: over the years.
• 23:31
Speaker 4: Texas. The PSC is what happens when the regulatory capture.
• 23:34
Speaker 4: With regulatory capture, Republicans and utilties have dominance over the
• 23:37
Speaker 4: actions of the PSC, no independence. It's so bad. The
• 23:40
Speaker 4: PSC chair, who's effectively chief judge of rate increases requests,
• 23:43
Speaker 4: says she would never vote to close a coal fired
• 23:46
Speaker 4: power plant. Well, if a magistrate judge said that in
• 23:48
Speaker 4: rent cases, they'd never vote to a victor tenant, would
• 23:51
Speaker 4: we be concerned about bias?
• 23:52
Speaker 13: Well, if a magister said that in court, then he
• 23:56
Speaker 13: would have or she would have jiic problems if you're
• 23:59
Speaker 13: not allowed to project which way you're going to rule
• 24:01
Speaker 13: from the judiciary. But and this is not a democratic
• 24:05
Speaker 13: or republican issue. You know that whoever texted in is
• 24:08
Speaker 13: kind of focusing on the way it is now. This
• 24:10
Speaker 13: has been going on for a while This is not
• 24:12
Speaker 13: It's not like the rate increase has just started in
• 24:15
Speaker 13: the last few years. This has been going on for
• 24:17
Speaker 13: quite some time, and so we're at a point where,
• 24:19
Speaker 13: quite frankly, it just can't go up anymore. I mean,
• 24:21
Speaker 13: people can't pay any more. You know, it's not like,
• 24:24
Speaker 13: you know, income is going through the roof here in
• 24:26
  Speaker 13: West Virginia.
• 24:28
  Speaker 5: It's not.
• 24:29
Speaker 13: You know, things are somewhat stagnant, and so we've got
• 24:31
Speaker 13: to make sure that we're not raising people's utilities to
• 24:35
Speaker 13: where it's just not affordable.
• 24:37
Speaker 4: Before we let you go, I want to get your
• 24:40
Speaker 4: opinion on something You've been keeping a close eye on
• 24:42
Speaker 4: a bill of the legislature and you can come on
• 24:44
Speaker 4: Metro News Midday. You've come on this show to talk
• 24:46
Speaker 4: about it as well as it pertains to sentencing murder
• 24:49
Speaker 4: cases things like that. So we'll close up with that.
• 24:51
Speaker 13: Well, again, this one is not a political issue. This
• 24:53
Speaker 13: was a personal issue, and West Virginia had had been
• 24:57
Speaker 13: lagging behind in its mandatory sentencing for first degree murder.
• 25:01
Speaker 13: And I know your next guest is Danny Jones, but
• 25:04
Speaker 13: you know, thirty years ago there was a young man
• 25:07
Speaker 13: working at Danny Jones's restaurant. It happened to be Terra's
• 25:10
Speaker 13: old my wife's older brother, and he was murdered, and
• 25:14
Speaker 13: so Danny stood alongside us since that time, and we've
• 25:19
Speaker 13: shown up at parole hearing after parole hearing to try
• 25:22
Speaker 13: to keep the murderer who was convicted of premeditated intentional
• 25:26
Speaker 13: first degree murder, to try to keep him in prison.
• 25:28
Speaker 13: It was shocking to us to realize that even back then,
• 25:32
Speaker 13: if you were sentenced to first deary murder with mercy,
• 25:34
Speaker 13: you could actually come up for parole after only ten years.
• 25:38
Speaker 13: So the legislature fixed that made it fifteen years. Now
• 25:41
Speaker 13: a lot of people have to go through this if
• 25:43
Speaker 13: there's no chance that the person's going to get out,
• 25:46
Speaker 13: yet they still have to appear every one to three
• 25:48
Speaker 13: years for these parole hearings, and it is absolutely heartbreaking
• 25:51
Speaker 13: and gut wrenching to these families to have to live
• 25:54
Speaker 13: it over and over again. So on the House side
• 25:56
Speaker 13: they proposed a bill it's called Todd's Law that was
• 25:59
Speaker 13: named after my brother in law, Todd Farley, and then
• 26:02
Speaker 13: also on the Senate side SB one thirty seven, the
• 26:06
Speaker 13: Senate passed Senate Bill one thirty seven. It went over
• 26:08
Speaker 13: the House. It's the House bill which made some revisions.
• 26:11
Speaker 13: They added Todd's Law into SB one thirty seven. It's
• 26:14
Speaker 13: on third reading today and what that means is if
• 26:17
Speaker 13: it gets through the final vote, then it will go
• 26:19
Speaker 13: back to the Senate just for approval, and then it'll
• 26:22
Speaker 13: be on the governor's desk. This is something that is needed.
• 26:26
Speaker 13: You know, I've caught some grief over this because I
• 26:29
Speaker 13: was kind of pushing it, but it's something that West
• 26:32
Speaker 13: Virginia needs. We need to be in alignment with the
• 26:35
Speaker 13: other states. West Virginia was and Ohio were had the
• 26:40
Speaker 13: lowest sentencing in the United States for someone convicted of
• 26:44
Speaker 13: first degree murder with mercy. That's an intentional, premeditated killing,
• 26:47
Speaker 13: and they could get out after fifteen years. In fact,
• 26:50
Speaker 13: it has happened, you know. I went through the records,
• 26:52
Speaker 13: and it's happened. Where someone will intentionally kill somebody and
• 26:55
Speaker 13: they get out after fifteen years. It's shocking to me
• 26:59
Speaker 13: primarily that doesn't happen, but it has, and so we've
• 27:01
Speaker 13: got to fix that. It shouldn't be, you know, some

Speaker 13: discretionary thing just because they were a good a good
• 27:06
Speaker 13: boy for a few years in prison that somehow the
• 27:08
Speaker 13: pro board's gonna let him out. You actually have to
• 27:10
Speaker 13: be you have to pay for that crime. That is
• 27:13
Speaker 13: the ultimate crime when you kill somebody and to get
• 27:15
Speaker 13: out in fifteen years is insulting to the families. It's
• 27:18
Speaker 13: insulting to the victims. Thankfully, the legislature's addressing that. I
• 27:23
Speaker 13: certainly commend him for it.
• 27:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, and again, I think sometimes the families are the
• 27:28
Speaker 4: ones that really really suffering this. And you've talked about
• 27:31
Speaker 4: your personal story with your wife and having to go
• 27:33
Speaker 4: through this, and you know, and Danny, who's coming up next,
• 27:36
Speaker 4: he was there with us. I mean, he showed up
• 27:38
Speaker 4: at these parole hearings with us. It happened in his restaurant.
• 27:41
Speaker 4: You know, it affected Terra's family since she was sixteen
• 27:45
Speaker 4: years old. Every time this happens, I mean, is it
• 27:48
Speaker 4: is turmoil. It also affected Danny's business. Keep in mind
• 27:52
Speaker 4: that he had one of the most successful barbecue businesses
• 27:55
Speaker 4: in the valley and after this murder, people wouldn't go
• 27:58
Speaker 4: in the building and it actually closed. It was called
• 28:00
Speaker 4: Annie's rib house' it's was in Nitro. But it affected
• 28:03
  Speaker 4: him too.
• 28:04
Speaker 13: It affected everybody, you know, the employees that were there,
• 28:07
Speaker 13: that witnessed it, Yeah, were affected. Some of them had PTSD,
• 28:10
Speaker 13: had to go to counseling for years. It was a
• 28:14
Speaker 13: it was a significant life changing event. And the fact
• 28:18
Speaker 13: that this person could get out after ten or fifteen
• 28:20
Speaker 13: years is appalling. It should that should never be the law.
• 28:23
Speaker 13: You shouldn't have to There are property crimes, there are
• 28:26
Speaker 13: crimes against animals where you would spend more time in
• 28:29
Speaker 13: prison than if you killed somebody. And it's it's shocking
• 28:33
Speaker 13: to me that that wasn't addressed before. But quite frankly, uh,
• 28:37
Speaker 13: it wasn't onnybody's radar, but it is now. And as
• 28:39
Speaker 13: soon as the legislature, you know, saw what was going
• 28:43
Speaker 13: on and realized that we were kind of lagging behind
• 28:45
Speaker 13: the other states, they took action. And I commend him
• 28:47
  Speaker 13: for it.

• 32:15
Speaker 4: Danny Jones. How you doing, my friend?
• 32:17
Speaker 6: I'm doing fine, thank you.
• 32:19
Speaker 4: So I want to hear real quickly how my day started.
• 32:22
Speaker 4: All right, So I've been very open about when you've
• 32:25
Speaker 4: been a very good friend to me going through this
• 32:27
Speaker 4: prostate cancer stuff. So today six forty five, This morning,
• 32:32
Speaker 4: I'm at c AMC in Tays Valley to get a
• 32:37
Speaker 4: looprin injection basically to kill testosterone. All right. Now, when
• 32:42
Speaker 4: I told Chris Lawrence that, he got a big laugh
• 32:44
Speaker 4: out of that by saying, well, what you know getting
• 32:46
Speaker 4: that Chris style, what you mean you had testosterone? So
• 32:49
Speaker 4: basically they had to you know, and right now I
• 32:52
Speaker 4: have no ill effects whatsoever. They tell me, did you
• 32:55
Speaker 4: have to go through anything that with your prostate cancer?
• 32:57
Speaker 4: Now I haven't removed okay, All right, well I'm doing
• 33:00
Speaker 4: the radiation. It was worth well. I went to it
• 33:03
Speaker 4: was really bad. You told me, they talked you not
• 33:06
Speaker 4: to do it. You told me not to do the removal,
• 33:09
Speaker 4: and uh, I'm not.
• 33:10
Speaker 6: Uh and I did it for one reason. Yeah, because
• 33:13
Speaker 6: those two boys, Yeah right, I had them late in
• 33:16
Speaker 6: life and I wanted to make sure I stayed alive.
• 33:20
Speaker 6: And I'm seventy five. Yeah, and I'm still kicking yeah and.
• 33:24
Speaker 4: So h So, basically what they got to do is
• 33:27
Speaker 4: they got to kill my testosterone. Uh So, you know,
• 33:31
Speaker 4: they said I could have hot flashes and things of
• 33:34
  Speaker 4: that nature.
• 33:35
Speaker 6: So well, when you're when you're married, it goes away
• 33:37
Speaker 6: in it, you know.
• 33:39
Speaker 4: I mean, look, I've I look at it like this.
• 33:42
Speaker 4: I'm fifty five years old. I've had very little health issues.
• 33:46
Speaker 4: I had my appendix removed, I had a tonsil ectomy,
• 33:48
Speaker 4: never had a broken bone, probably because I didn't have
• 33:51
Speaker 4: any testosterone. Uh but uh so, you know, eventually it hits.
• 33:55
Speaker 4: And you know, I had a shoulder injury a couple
• 33:58
Speaker 4: a couple of years agohead of under go physical therapy
• 34:01
Speaker 4: for got that straightened out. And now I got this.
• 34:04
Speaker 4: So it's all good, no symptoms. I'm gonna kick it.
• 34:06
Speaker 4: I'm feeling good. But I appreciate your friendship and your
• 34:09
Speaker 4: guidance on the earthing. You're one of the first people
• 34:11
Speaker 4: I reached out to and I said, Danny, guess what,
• 34:13
  Speaker 4: I got it.
• 34:14
Speaker 6: And if you live long enough, if you live to
• 34:19
Speaker 6: be eighty five, two out of three people, Yeah, have
• 34:22
Speaker 6: two out of three.
• 34:23
Speaker 4: And it's amazing to me since I started talking about Danny,
• 34:26
Speaker 4: the number of people that have reached out to me
• 34:28
Speaker 4: and said, oh I went through that ten years ago.
• 34:30
Speaker 4: Oh I went through it. I'm going through it now.
• 34:32
Speaker 4: Oh my dad just went through this, or my uncle
• 34:34
Speaker 4: went through it or whatever. So you know, we got this.
• 34:36
Speaker 4: Did you want to follow up a little bit on
• 34:38
Speaker 4: what what the what Ben Selango is doing?
• 34:41
Speaker 6: The murderer was named Glendale Women. No, it's then Dale Guthrie.
• 34:50
Speaker 6: The victim was Todd Todd Farley, Judge Slango's brother. He
• 35:02
Speaker 6: had another brother named Tracy, and Tracy was there that
• 35:07
Speaker 6: night too, and Todd said that he flipped a towel
• 35:16
Speaker 6: at him or something, so he wanted to kill him.
• 35:20
Speaker 6: But Guthrie didn't look the same when he walked in
• 35:24
Speaker 6: there that night. He usually spoke to me and everything
• 35:28
Speaker 6: and hey, you doing He didn't do any of that.
• 35:30
Speaker 6: I thought, this is weird, but Tracy told me when
• 35:35
Speaker 6: Todd was laying back there in the floor, you know
• 35:39
Speaker 6: gush and blood. He said, Danny, I think I should
• 35:43
Speaker 6: have told you this. But three days ago Dale came
• 35:46
Speaker 6: up to me and asked me if I ever wondered
• 35:49
Speaker 6: what it'd feel like to kill somebody. He looked at
• 35:53
Speaker 6: it like, well, good looking woman, he won't to see
• 35:57
Speaker 6: what it felt like. That's that That's exactly what happened,
• 36:02
Speaker 6: and he should never get out of jail. Yeah, because
• 36:05
Speaker 6: it might come after me.
• 36:07
  Speaker 4: I didn't, and I didn't realize until Ben Commissioner Silangu
• 36:11
Speaker 4: just told the story on it. He's been on the
• 36:12
Speaker 4: air several times talking about it about his But I
• 36:14
Speaker 4: didn't know. I knew it happened at your restaurant there
• 36:17
Speaker 4: at Nitro, but I didn't realize that. Ben said you
• 36:19
Speaker 4: had gone to the parole hearings with him.
• 36:22
  Speaker 6: I'll tell you another. I've been to a few. I'll
• 36:25
Speaker 6: tell you another story. Judge Nap knew the mother and
• 36:31
Speaker 6: Judge Nap federal judge called me, said, Danny, have you
• 36:38
Speaker 6: called miss Farley? I said no. He said why. I said,
• 36:45
Speaker 6: I don't know what to say. He said, well, I
• 36:47
Speaker 6: listened to you on that radio every morning. You certainly
• 36:50
Speaker 6: have plenty to say there. You better think of something
• 36:53
Speaker 6: the same, you better pick up that phone and collar
• 36:55
Speaker 6: and that's what I did. So it was it was
• 37:00
Speaker 6: it was real sad uh that day. I had twenty
• 37:03
Speaker 6: seven employees when we reopened at eleven.
• 37:08
Speaker 4: Eventually you close the restaurant and no.
• 37:12
Speaker 6: I kept the restaurant open, but I had to go
• 37:14
  Speaker 6: back to work.
• 37:15
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 37:15
Speaker 6: Right, I had to work the line because we we
• 37:20
Speaker 6: we lost half our business and then we picked it up.
• 37:24
Speaker 6: We started picking it up and but out of side.
• 37:29
Speaker 6: Then I was coming back downtown. Yeah, and I really
• 37:37
Speaker 6: like Nitro I had. I had a good life down
• 37:40
Speaker 6: there until then. Yeah.
• 37:43
Speaker 4: So the big the big news internationally Danny and know
• 37:46
Speaker 4: we talked about it last week, and the fighting continues
• 37:49
Speaker 4: to escalate and Iran and in that general region. What
• 37:52
Speaker 4: do you what do you do? What's your take? What
• 37:54
Speaker 4: are you looking at?
• 37:55
  Speaker 9: Well?
• 37:55
  Speaker 4: I supported I know that, but I mean I didn't
• 37:57
Speaker 4: know if there's anything in particular.
• 37:58
Speaker 6: That I think that we need to be prepared to sacrifice.
• 38:04
Speaker 6: I bought a one way ticket because I'm going to
• 38:09
Speaker 6: take a car out west and leave it and I'm
• 38:12
Speaker 6: going to fly back. That's in April. Flying back on
• 38:17
Speaker 6: the coach seat cost fifteen hundred. I used to be
• 38:22
Speaker 6: able to fly first class around trip for fifteen hundred.
• 38:26
  Speaker 6: So that's what you're that's what you're looking at. That's
• 38:28
  Speaker 6: what you're looking at now. And I'm I'm I'm urging
• 38:33
Speaker 6: people to be patient and be prepared to sacrifice. Iran
• 38:40
Speaker 6: declared war on US forty seven years ago. This is
• 38:43
Speaker 6: not this is not new. Trump just had to be
• 38:46
Speaker 6: the one that put it forward. But I have another
• 38:49
Speaker 6: proposal to make what's the name of the British Prize
• 38:54
Speaker 6: Stormer of of Great Britain something like that's something like
• 39:01
Speaker 6: his name, I can't think of his name. He would
• 39:05
Speaker 6: not let us use his airstrip to launch our airplanes
• 39:10
Speaker 6: from Okay, it's one of our NATO partners. So I've
• 39:18
Speaker 6: been thinking a lot about this, and I think.
• 39:23
Speaker 4: That star rate is starmer here.
• 39:24
  Speaker 6: I think it's time that I support Ukraine. But Ukraine's
• 39:29
Speaker 6: in Europe, and I think President Trump ought to call
• 39:34
Speaker 6: NATO have a meeting that says, you know what, We're
• 39:37
Speaker 6: gonna let you all take care of Ukraine from now on,
• 39:41
Speaker 6: and if you need any F sixteens, we'll be glad
• 39:45
Speaker 6: to sell them to you. We're going to take care
• 39:47
Speaker 6: of iron, because that's more dangerous to us.
• 39:52
Speaker 4: It's war or the conflict, whatever you want to call it.
• 39:54
Speaker 4: In Ron has costing the country a billion dollars a day.
• 39:57
Speaker 6: That doesn't surprise me. That doesn't surprise me. And we
• 40:03
Speaker 6: have to do this, and there are a lot of
• 40:07
Speaker 6: people don't agree with it on both sides. You know,
• 40:10
Speaker 6: you've got the America first, the mega crowd and the
• 40:15
Speaker 6: left there against anything Trump's four.
• 40:18
  Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
• 40:20
  Speaker 9: But I.
• 40:25
Speaker 6: Lived through nineteen seventy nine. I was twenty nine years
• 40:29
Speaker 6: old and four hundred and forty four days, and I
• 40:35
Speaker 6: think Carter blew it on a couple of ways. The
• 40:37
Speaker 6: first thing, he should have saved the Shaw. The second thing,
• 40:43
Speaker 6: we should have gone in.
• 40:46
Speaker 4: They attempted that rescue. No, no, no, no, no, I'm
• 40:49
Speaker 4: just saying I remember.
• 40:51
  Speaker 7: No.
• 40:51
Speaker 4: I mean my point was, no, I know, there're two
• 40:53
Speaker 4: different things. But we attempted that rescue and it turned
• 40:55
Speaker 4: out very badly, which is one of the things I think.
• 40:59
Speaker 4: And again, you were twenty nine years old. I was
• 41:02
Speaker 4: nine years old, but I remember watching it on television
• 41:07
Speaker 4: because you know, as a kid he did in nineteen
• 41:09
Speaker 4: seventy you didn't have as many channels. You know, it's
• 41:11
Speaker 4: what you had. But I remember watching and I remember
• 41:13
Speaker 4: that a lot of the American sentiment at that time
• 41:18
Speaker 4: really and Jimmy Carter, despite the fact he probably was
• 41:23
Speaker 4: one of the best people to ever be president, one
• 41:26
Speaker 4: of the best people. Okay, you're rolling your eyes, that's okay,
• 41:29
Speaker 4: But it was a it was a horrible president. Yeah,
• 41:32
Speaker 4: and uh, and that's one I think a lot of
• 41:36
Speaker 4: the sentiment, the economy sunk Carter. But I think this
• 41:41
  Speaker 4: did too.
• 41:42
Speaker 6: Those bombs that that Trump dropped on the first nuclear
• 41:50
Speaker 6: we shouldn't. We shouldn't have dropped a bunch of those
• 41:52
Speaker 6: bombs when they did that. You can't let somebody the
• 41:58
Speaker 6: Nazis didn't do that. They didn't take over empathies. Nobody
• 42:02
Speaker 6: ever takes over an empathy. It's but we allowed. And
• 42:08
Speaker 6: the great thing about it was one of the people
• 42:12
Speaker 6: that was killed was one of the people that was
• 42:18
Speaker 6: took that empathy captive, and that was Akmadenajaw And he
• 42:22
Speaker 6: got killed with the forty And I'm very grateful.
• 42:29
Speaker 4: Think about for his perspective. I mean, this is a
• 42:32
Speaker 4: guy who spent fifty years in a war in a
• 42:36
Speaker 4: sense against America. You know and and he ends up,
• 42:40
Speaker 4: you know, dying in this in the conflict.
• 42:42
Speaker 6: They killed their own people. They killed they Bonnie Sawder
• 42:46
Speaker 6: had a sneak out on a plane. He was the
• 42:48
Speaker 6: president of Iran Goats. Padet was their spokesman here. They
• 42:54
Speaker 6: murdered him. They hung him.
• 42:55
Speaker 4: And I've seen the he's very well spoken. The I'm
• 43:00
Speaker 4: not saying I agree with him. He just very well
• 43:01
Speaker 4: spoken of the and I forget the title of the
• 43:04
Speaker 4: Iran in Foreign Ministry he was. He's made it on
• 43:06
Speaker 4: several shows. He was on Meet the Press. I think
• 43:08
Speaker 4: yesterday very respectful when he speaks. But he said and
• 43:10
Speaker 4: I even remarked to my wife about this, because he
• 43:12
Speaker 4: even said on the show yesterday about how Americans were
• 43:18
Speaker 4: killing their people and we're not, and he said made
• 43:20
Speaker 4: some statement. I'm very much paraphrasing here, Danny made some
• 43:22
Speaker 4: statement like, you know, we're not the ones that are
• 43:25
Speaker 4: killing our people. They are. And I'm thinking, no, you've
• 43:29
Speaker 4: been killing a whole heck of a lot of your
• 43:30
Speaker 4: people for a number of years.
• 43:32
Speaker 6: They make it up, they killed we don't even know,
• 43:36
Speaker 6: somewhere between twenty and forty thousand. When you control the media,
• 43:42
Speaker 6: I mean they shut down the internet. And you know
• 43:47
Speaker 6: what what, the Iranian people needs a second amendment. We
• 43:52
Speaker 6: need to somehow the idea or the massade need to
• 43:57
Speaker 6: get these people guns thing to themselves. Because the people
• 44:02
Speaker 6: with the guns and they're dressed like undressed, they go
• 44:06
Speaker 6: out and just shoot people out in the street. It's
• 44:10
Speaker 6: a terrible bunch of people. And October seventh, uh in Borut, Beirut,
• 44:18
Speaker 6: when all those marines got killed. That was Iran. Iran
• 44:23
Speaker 6: is the terrorists all over. And you had John Kerry
• 44:29
Speaker 6: thinks he pulled some kind of a weapons deal with him.
• 44:33
  Speaker 6: It's it's it's ridiculous. It's uh, it's like that that
• 44:40
Speaker 6: Prime Minister from Great Britain that said he had the Uh.
• 44:44
Speaker 6: I have my hand of a paper from a Chancellor Hitler. Oh,
• 44:49
Speaker 6: I can't think of his name. What's his name? Yeah,
• 44:54
  Speaker 6: and he's he's they're like Chamberlain.
• 44:58
Speaker 4: One of the things that I thought was really, and
• 45:00
Speaker 4: we've got to do this good or break. There was
• 45:02
Speaker 4: a big protest in New York City over the weekend
• 45:05
Speaker 4: protesting the Iranian war. And I heard a clip I
• 45:09
Speaker 4: was listening to the news yesterday morning on the radio,
• 45:12
Speaker 4: and I listened and I heard a clip from one
• 45:14
Speaker 4: of the students that said, one of the young people
• 45:17
  Speaker 4: I should sag. I'm presuming you're a student who said
• 45:19
Speaker 4: something to the effect of Iran doesn't have nuclear capabilities.
• 45:23
Speaker 4: They signed in agreement saying they don't have them. Oh well, okay,
• 45:28
Speaker 4: long as yeah, yeah, they signed it over sure, sure,
• 45:32

Speaker 4: Iran against US in Israel because they were given to

Speaker 4: them by the title band, who had then gifted them,
• 48:33
Speaker 4: who would gifted them by Joe Biden's despicable withdrawal from Afghanistan.
• 48:39
  Speaker 6: Well that's possible. I can't say. I thought, where's this going?
• 48:45
Speaker 6: I want to say something. I am not an America first,
• 48:48
Speaker 6: I'm an internationalist. So but when I talk about Ukraine,
• 48:53
Speaker 6: I'm for Ukraine. But let the European tendle that they
• 48:58
Speaker 6: won't help us in a ran.
• 49:00
Speaker 4: Of course, we lost a soldier who was from Logan
• 49:04
Speaker 4: County last week in the war because he volunteered to
• 49:08
Speaker 4: fight for Ukraine and he was killed last week.
• 49:11
Speaker 6: See, there's the problem we have here is and we're
• 49:14
Speaker 6: not going to do it. You need ground troops.
• 49:19
Speaker 4: You don't think ground troops go in at some point
• 49:21
  Speaker 4: with US?
• 49:21
Speaker 6: Yeah? No, okay, won't happen.
• 49:24
Speaker 4: Texas Americans led an attack of US capital. But this
• 49:27
Speaker 4: was a beautiful thing and all of them were political
• 49:29
Speaker 4: prisoners and hostages. Am I right, Danny? Or do your
• 49:31
Speaker 4: ethics apply only to killings that you like, I think
• 49:34
Speaker 4: you were pretty clear, like I was about January sixth,
• 49:37
Speaker 4: You and I were on the same page there.
• 49:39
Speaker 6: I think that's somebody I was on the side of
• 49:42
  Speaker 6: the list. Cheney.
• 49:43
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 49:44
Speaker 6: And in her book, by the way, Mark Wayne Mowins,
• 49:48
Speaker 6: the guy just got appointed to he was in charge
• 49:53
Speaker 6: on the house. He was a member of the House
• 49:55
Speaker 6: then and he put himself in charge of the women.
• 50:00
Speaker 6: And he told Liuz Cheney, he says, see that door
• 50:02
Speaker 6: right there, go through the door, take you know, take
• 50:06
Speaker 6: them with you. She said, got it. So the women,
• 50:11
Speaker 6: you know, to try to to try to get away
• 50:14
Speaker 6: from because they were just about to break in the
• 50:16
Speaker 6: in the front door of the and that's when they
• 50:18
  Speaker 6: shot Ashley Babbitt.
• 50:20
Speaker 4: Zeck says, I think it's funny American history with Iran
• 50:23
Speaker 4: only goes back to nineteen seventy nine. At events after
• 50:25
  Speaker 4: that before nothing.
• 50:28
Speaker 6: Well, in nineteen fifty three they had Mozedic and we
• 50:34
Speaker 6: the British and US, we helped overthrow him. He was
• 50:45
Speaker 6: he had some views that he first singing nationalized the oil,
• 50:51
Speaker 6: which costs our country a lot of money. But the
• 50:56
Speaker 6: second thing was we were in the middle of the
• 50:59
Speaker 6: Cold War and he had some pretty warm relationships with
• 51:03
Speaker 6: the Red Bear, so he I'm not sure, but then
• 51:09
Speaker 6: we put the Shaw back in charge. So do you
• 51:12
Speaker 6: want to if you want to look at something we
• 51:15
Speaker 6: we own that maybe we shouldn't have done, or wasn't
• 51:18
Speaker 6: the right thing to do, or wasn't the moral thing
• 51:20
Speaker 6: to do, that wouldn't have been it.

• 51:54
Speaker 12: He says this legislation in the court case in West Virginia,
• 51:57
Speaker 12: we shouldn't have done it. So we'll talk to him
