- Chris Laker: I think I need a haircut. I'm close. I'll probably wait like another month. I'll wait till it looks stupid. And I'm tying it back all the time. It's just something I noticed while staring at myself and trying not to judge my face. Not gonna talk about my face. My face is fine. I you're fine with it, I guess, right? yesterday beginning the show I was talking about how tired I was. And today I'm also tired. I was out at a hardcore show last night. I guess post hardcore. It was a mix of post hardcore and hardcore. Show me the body, that's more post hardcore than hardcore. But then there was whispers, that's hardcore. And then truck violence, I'd say that's hardcore. And lip critic, I'd say that they are more post hardcore than hardcore. I don't know. They can categorize themselves. I'm not gonna argue with them. And basically a hardcore show. a lot of very aggressive Loud music and people jumping off the stage At least now people don't wear steel toed boots as much as they did when I was starting out going to hardcore shows people would be wearing steel toed boots and you get kicked in the head every once in a while. Now I don't stand where anybody's going to jump on top of me. that's for other people. if somebody's crowd surfing, that's great. I'm more than happy to help them along. I just don't wanna be dove upon and I don't want to be moshed upon. I want to enjoy a show and I want those things to be happening. I wanna be in the proximity of aggression, but I don't wanna take part in it. I enjoy the energy. and I enjoy the music. Show me the body. I'm a big fan. And I didn't know these other bands, but I am now a fan of those bands. Truck violence. if you're into this shit, and you're probably not. Most people are not. So I'm giving you information you don't need. Truck Violence, they're great. Lip Critic, they're a New York band. if you like, Chat Pile. They're kinda like Chat Pile. and Whispers, they're from Bangkok and they're touring the United States as a hardcore band. there's not a lot of money in hardcore music to get over to the United States and then be touring it was a great show. it was the kind of show I thought if I was fifteen and I came to this show, it would change my life. That's entertainment news. show me the body. Was at Fonda Theater last night with opening bands, truck violence, lip critic, and whispers. And that's a tour that's going around. So go see them. I think they're in Arizona tonight, if you're in Arizona. if you like that kind of music, you should go. If you don't like that kind of music, then you know that. You know you know if you like that kind of music. So I'm gonna get to the news now. I had to go get a drink. Cause I woke up and I was like, I'm thirsty, but I'm gonna do the show then I just got so thirsty I had to take a break, get a drink. So I do have a Celsius here. So I have a little shot of caffeine. I know it's probably not good for me to drink Celsius, but I love it. And some things are worth the damage that they might be doing to your internal organs. I would do Celsius commercials for no, I'd like money. I would like money. Might spend some of that money on Celsius, but I would prefer money. I'm not going to do it for free Celsius. I mean send me free Celsius too. The free Celsius should not be considered a part of the compensation. It should just be a nice here you go for loving or drink so much and telling people about it. So here we That's good. That's that's Celsius. I feel good. I'm ready to do a show. I should drink it before I do the show, but I feel like the show is supposed to be me fresh from waking up, not caffeinated. But here I got a little in me. I'm feeling I'm I'm feeling good. Whole new me. I've started the day. I'm gonna get to the news. Thirty-five percent of Cornell undergraduate women reported having been sexually assaulted. Survey. thirty-five percent that number sounds shocking, but then kinda not, 'cause the amount of women who get assaulted is like crazy high in general. So why would it be different at Cornell? College is kind of a bad idea. It's a town of eighteen to twenty-one year olds getting fucked up all the time and they all leave their doors open You just kinda wander around. It's too many of those people in one place. the school should just be the place where you go do school and the dorms should not be dorms. It should be apartments throughout the town and you have to mix in with the town. you get up in the morning go to school like you go to a job you gotta go home and make your own food and shit. You don't have a cafeteria, you don't have RA's looking out for you, whatever. it's like work. I wouldn't want my college experience to be like that. I liked being at college and getting fucked up with everybody. I did have to drop out It was not healthy for me. but I was an alcoholic. That would have happened anywhere. that whole weird time of being in college where it's you're learning but it's also spring break constantly at the same time, it's a weird idea. And it it's not that old. They're not gonna change it. I'm just saying I think it's a bad idea. as somebody who got to enjoy that bad idea for a time. And Cornell's a is a good school, I think. The only good schools, the only really good schools, okay, that I should r have to recognize as being good schools are Harvard, Princeton, Yale. Anything else you act like it's a good school, I don't know. I've had people act like, well, I went to Colgate. I don't fucking know. Is that good? Is that hard to get into? Am I supposed to be impressed by the Colgate? Because I'm I'm just not. I'm only impressed by Harvard, Princeton, Yale. not even impressed. I think you I kinda don't like you because you went to those schools. But I'm also sort of impressed at the same time. But I all I don't like you cause you went there. Cause who the fuck are you? you think you're better than everybody? You went to fucking Harvard. Actually I have friends that went to Harvard and they're cool people. But that's besides the point. Cornell, you're supposed to be a good school. Get your shit together. Man charged with harassment in Philadelphia, cheesesteak assault, police say. They're so proud of those cheesesteaks in Philadelphia. they're good. But there's a reason that only Philadelphia has like that concentration of cheesesteaks. I They're gross kind. It's too much fucking food. you're not supposed to be eating those. but this assault happened at Gino's. There's the two famous cheesesteak places Pats and Gino's. They're across the street from each other, they've been around forever, and everybody in Philadelphia says don't go to either one of those. They're tourist traps. You gotta go to this other spot nobody's heard of. And there's a million cheesesteak places in Philadelphia. Most of them pretty good. this was some influencer. I don't know if he's a famous influencer or not. His thing is food reviews, and if he doesn't like the food, he throws the food at the employees. Brilliant idea. Can't believe I didn't come up with it. If I had, I'd be doing that right now. You'd be watching a video of me throwing food at a food service worker saying, This is shit. And you just have to always find food you don't like and throw it. And even if you like it, throw it Because that's what people are showing up for. How do you not get beat up throwing food at employees at restaurants charged with assault. hopefully he tries this somewhere else and then he gets assaulted a lot. Mass shooting leaves two people dead in Georgia and twelve year old girl dead in Baltimore. So now mass shootings have to share headlines. They don't get their own. You got to combine them. Because one, nobody's showing up for one mass shooting to a headline. two, hmm. And a child was killed. All right. now I'm clicking through. mass shootings and pickleball have really taken this country by storm And both need to stop. an Ebola treatment center was burned down as the death toll in Congo passes four thousand. Ebola. This fucking shit. And there's this situation where people think the aid workers are bringing the Ebola. That's why they burned down the treatment center. They think they're gonna get rid of Ebola if they get rid of the aid workers. And that is not gonna help. it's fucked. That's my journalistic opinion. This situation is pretty fucked up. Prosecutor says two Iranian men scouted a UK synagogue for a chlorine bomb plot. there's a lot of people that are gonna say that's not true. They didn't do that. And people be like, they did do that. I don't know. But the idea of attacking a synagogue is not new and it happens. You know it happens. whether or not these men that they're saying in the UK did this thing, I don't know. But To act like that would never happen, a synagogue being attacked that's disingenuous. Both things can be true that Israel as a country is fucked, committing atrocities, war crimes, genocide, unspeakable things. And people attack synagogues, people attack people for being Jewish. those both things can be true. I'm not s afraid to say free Palestine. I'm also not afraid to say there's anti Semitism. You say both things. there's all sorts of awful things happening at the same time. That is because we're people and people, we're the worst. Father and son smoke shop workers arrested and Mississippi students suspected crantum deaths. I've never found out what crantum is and I don't feel like starting now. it's some gas station drugs. If you're gonna buy gas station drugs, why not go the extra mile and get real drugs? Drugs are around. People sell them. They want to sell you them. It's how they make money. You shouldn't get them at the gas station. if you're gonna buy somebody a birthday cake, are you gonna get that at the gas station? No. You're gonna go to the bakery. You're probably better off inhaling spray paint don't do that either. Don't inhale spray paint. Just go find yourself some marijuana. and don't do that even. at least that is nice and makes you a better person. It's not great for motivation. But it chills ya out Don't you don't need drugs. Get involved in the community. That's what I tell the young people. deliver meals to the elderly. That's a high that you can't get out of a plastic baggy.
