- 0:00Reminder, top of the RT you caught and Butler for the excel Michaelsphinoway Norman
- 0:04on McCall tip off. Probably twenty of quarter to nine guys are number one
- 0:10in the country. I'm sure you've watched them once or twice. What are
- 0:14your thoughts on Dan's team. I mean, you know, they get these
- 0:16little injuries here and there. They lose Donovan for a few games, they
- 0:19lose Castle for a few games. I think Alex Caravan's playing tonight. I
- 0:23haven't seen anything on Twitter from the writers that would indicate he's playing, but
- 0:27it seems like he might. But this team just is. They get after
- 0:31it. They find ways to win, and they're unselfish. That's the great
- 0:34thing about watching the guys. Yeah, and they defend well, yeah,
- 0:39they play great defense. I think it's great the way the Big East men's
- 0:48basketball is played because they just play, you know, they play really,
- 0:55they play really hard. They compete, you know, Dan, it's pretty
- 1:00hard on the guys, and they respond like most good players do. And
- 1:08I'm not surprised that they that they are where they are. Their coaching staff
- 1:15does an unbelievable job, but working with these guys individually and as a group,
- 1:19and and they're they you know, once you win, you know,
- 1:26you have this expectation of winning. You feel like you can handle any situation
- 1:34that comes up and it doesn't matter who's missing. You just plug another guy
- 1:38in and you know, it's it's it's really fun to see them do what
- 1:47they're doing, uh, even though they probably don't get the same level of
- 1:52respect that you know, some of these other teams around the country. Everybody's
- 1:57all got god about everybody else. But you do see people at the national
- 2:00level being, oh, God, guy over Yukon because I don't think they
- 2:04want to be because I don't know why. You know, like it's like
- 2:09they're the defending national championships. Why aren't you like, oh, jumping up
- 2:14and down at the fact that they're number one in the country and they're probably
- 2:16going to be the number one, number one seed if it was Duke or
- 2:21Kansas or North Carolina or Kentucky. That's all you be talking about all year
- 2:24long, all over the TV. Oh my god, this guy's this,
- 2:29this guy's that, this guy's this, this guy's that, Oh, this
- 2:31guy's We beat the shit out of all those teams. So I don't think
- 2:37we are getting enough respect. And I think Danny loves that. Oh,
- 2:39I agree. There they have a scenario two where they could do something like
- 2:45your team has done forever. Now, granted, the tournament's different. You
- 2:47get two games at home and then you go somewhere like Bridge Porter or Albany.
- 2:51This year Albany, but they have a chance they don't have to get
- 2:53if they go to the final four. There's a scenario where they play in
- 2:57Brooklyn in Boston. There you go. That doesn't happen very often on the
- 3:01men's side. But that's why you play the regular season, right, these
- 3:08crazy basketball people that think you should play and god knows where. Why they
- 3:15don't say, why does football not play at home? Well, because they
- 3:21were fifteen to one, so they play at home. Why does baseball get
- 3:25home field advantage? Well, because they want like more games than you tea
- 3:30you did. Why did they say that in basketball? You know you have
- 3:36to go play there? Why says who? We earned the right to play
- 3:42close to home by how we played during the regular season. So don't tell
- 3:47me, you know, whether it's our guys or whether it's us. Oh,
- 3:52you always got to play in Albany or Bridgeport. Yeah, we did.
- 3:55You want me to tell you where Tennessee played all their NCAA tournament games.
- 4:00You don't want me to tell you. You want me to tell you
- 4:03where UCLA man played all their ncats one of the games you don't want to
- 4:08know. Okay. So the object is you win a bunch of games during
- 4:14the regular season, and then you get to play as close to home as
- 4:17possible. So Brooklyn is hosting, So the guys are going to go to
- 4:24Brooklyn if they deserve it, and then they're going to Boston if they deserve
- 4:27it. Well, if those two places weren't hosting, they wouldn't go there
- 4:30with the right, right, So we go to Albany. Why because Albany's
- 4:34hosting, and if we deserve it, we deserve to go to Oh you
- 4:38go to Bridgeport? Yeah, because we're number one in the country. We're
- 4:41number one, number one, So we go to the closest place. Yeah,
- 4:45like when we used to when we had to go to Lincoln, Nebraska.
- 4:46I remember, yes, Well, the other choices were right, we
- 4:50had to go Lincoln to break Yeah, the other choices were Maryland, if
- 4:54I remember, right, in South Bend, and we had to go to
- 4:57Dayton how many times? I like, Dayton at museum is amazing. I'm
- 5:00just saying we went to Trenton. Yeah, we went in Philly, Greensboro,
- 5:05yep, Greensboro two thousand and eight, right, went to Trenton one
- 5:09year. You go wherever you go, wherever they tell you. These are
- 5:13the people that have the regionals, and if you win enough games, you
- 5:17get to go there. So don't bitch and moan that you get to go
- 5:20there if you're the number one seed. Right by the way, if you've
- 5:24never been to Dayton, you love airplanes? The Air Force Museum is phenomenal.
- 5:30It is really good. And they have a separate hangar where they have
- 5:32Jfkazl air Force one and some test aircraft. Yeah, it's it's spectacular.
- 5:38You ever been there? You know why? Yeah? You know why?
- 5:41They have the first four you know the other teams. You know they have
- 5:46sixty four teams, right, and then they have four more, right,
- 5:48and they always have those planes in Dayton. The men, yes, yes,
- 5:53because it's unbelievable facility like during the Atlantic ten h but Dayton, I
- 5:58mean it is spectac accularly beautiful and they fill the place. Oh, I
- 6:01wish we had something like that on campus, but you know, we're Connecticut
- 6:06Lanta, steady habits. We're not going to have that Campu's not bad,
- 6:11No, it's not bad. That's like you know, I love Sophie Laurrenn.
- 6:17She's not bad, but she's ninety, so sometimes you know it's time
- 6:24for something younger. I'm not talking about like me personally. I'm just talking
- 6:30all right, we'll get to back back to basketball in just a minute.
- 6:33It's the women's basketball coaches shops that if I Wills Fargo Bank. See,
- 6:36that's why the live shows are the best. Back on Learfield in just a
- 6:41minute. Stay with us
