- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. Oh, he's right on cue.
- 0:31Look at that. OK, so today we're talking about
- 0:35brain chatter, mind chatter, The voice in your head, the little
- 0:39tiny voices that constantly just keep talking.
- 0:43Now, why is this important? Well, because we all have it.
- 0:47We can't get away from it. For some of us, it's very
- 0:49intense. And for others it's, you know,
- 0:50not so much. And people will often ask, you
- 0:53know, is it, is this something that you just developed?
- 0:56Is it? Are you born with it?
- 0:57Is it always there? It's there.
- 0:58It's it's just how we communicate with the different
- 1:01parts of ourselves. Like I, I tend to think that,
- 1:04you know, when we talk about you have your body, your mind and
- 1:07your soul, this is all true. And it it has been described for
- 1:12eons for that way that way for a reason, because it is, that is
- 1:17exactly what's happening. And sometimes it does feel like
- 1:19it's the committee in your head. As you know, I talk about it in
- 1:22the terms of the bus and it's all the emotions and they all
- 1:25have things to share. But it is very real and it has
- 1:28absolute control over what's going on.
- 1:32So you have to know and really recognize is the chatter for
- 1:36your greater good or is it for your demise?
- 1:39What is it doing to you? And it's so constant that if you
- 1:42don't know it, it it could be eroding everything that you're
- 1:45working on or it could be adding to the the greatness that you're
- 1:49looking for. So without having that compass,
- 1:53just so to speak, of really checking in and saying, did I
- 1:56spend more time in my head today going for the greater good or
- 2:00did I spend more time tearing myself down?
- 2:03Very important question. And 9 out of 10 people, when I
- 2:07ask that, when they I first start working with them and even
- 2:10when I've been working with them for a long time.
- 2:12And when I check in and I'm like, OK, where are you with the
- 2:14chatter? They'll go, oh man, I probably
- 2:17should check in on that because it's not something that we're
- 2:20taught to do regularly. We're just not taught to check
- 2:23on that piece of ourselves and just be on it.
- 2:26But we should be because it makes a tremendous difference
- 2:30when you are actually on it and you're paying attention to it.
- 2:33If you can think of it as a, it's kind of like a using a
- 2:38bathroom scale. That's probably the easiest way
- 2:40if you're someone that likes to weigh yourself all the time and
- 2:43know where you are on the process.
- 2:45Now, I will admit I am that person.
- 2:47I never used to be. But when I really worked on my
- 2:52body, really worked on my weight, really worked on getting
- 2:54healthy, the scale became a tool.
- 2:57Not a torture, but a tool. And to help me recognize, OK, I
- 3:01haven't been moving enough, or I need to burn more calories or I
- 3:05need to do more physical exercise because clearly I need
- 3:09to pay attention to this when it goes up.
- 3:10And I know there's a range when my body feels its best.
- 3:14So this is the same thing with the mind chatter.
- 3:16If you're not measuring it and you're not sitting there and
- 3:19asking yourself these critical questions, you can't control it.
- 3:23You can't understand what it's doing to you.
- 3:26So first and foremost, that can be a moment to moment thing.
- 3:30It can be over the course of a day, it can be based on your
- 3:33emotions and how you feel throughout the day and everyone
- 3:35has their own unique way of monitoring it.
- 3:38But for me, it's completely based in monitoring the
- 3:41emotions, because I know that chatter is dictated and and is
- 3:46constantly dictating. It's the symbiotic relationship
- 3:49between those emotions, the upheaval, the problems,
- 3:52everything that's happening. It's either arguing for the
- 3:56greater good or it's arguing for my demise, one or the other.
- 4:00There's really no in between in my head.
- 4:03So I have to make sure that it's constantly working on the
- 4:06greater good. And the way I check in is as
- 4:08soon as I start to feel any part of what I call the darker
- 4:13feelings, irritation, frustration, just even a little
- 4:17bit. Like that's my sound.
- 4:19Like when I start to recognize myself going because I'm
- 4:22aggravated. I know I have to check in on
- 4:26that now. Funny story, that can happen in
- 4:29my house in a heartbeat based on the quality of cleaning in the
- 4:32kitchen because I can't stand a dirty kitchen sink.
- 4:36It's just a thing with me. I know it's just a thing.
- 4:40Can't stand it. Absolutely hate it.
- 4:42I even squeegee as my cousin will laugh when she listens to
- 4:45this. I squeegee out my sink because I
- 4:48don't like the water in it. Now, some people could say
- 4:50that's insane. What are you doing?
- 4:52Well, maybe it is, but it's just the way I like the sink and I
- 4:55don't. I don't have a problem going in
- 4:58and doing it all the time. I just like it clean.
- 5:00But when I see somebody else who leaves a pile of something in
- 5:04there, I can easily feel myself go.
- 5:07And then I have to recognize that's one of those emotions
- 5:10that chatter is not serving me. Am I going to let that continue
- 5:15for the day? Because that will erode anything
- 5:18good that I have been doing. So if you're going to get
- 5:21irritated, do it consciously. If you're going to get
- 5:24frustrated, do it consciously because that's where the windows
- 5:28of opportunity are for shift and change.
- 5:31So just work on that piece, Check out where those little
- 5:34things start and also follow the great ones too.
- 5:36And see. OK, well what makes me feel
- 5:38really wonderful? Like I know I can literally walk
- 5:41into a coffee shop and smell coffee and feel amazingly good.
- 5:46Why is that? Because I spent so much time in
- 5:48coffee shops with my dad and he was my anchor always.
- 5:52I always felt great when I was with my dad, so I don't have him
- 5:56passed away many years ago. And that still to this day will
- 6:00make me feel good. So I know if I'm really
- 6:03frustrated with something and I want to shift, go to a coffee
- 6:06shop, You'll feel good right away.
- 6:08Know these things about yourself, my friends, and I
- 6:10promise you, you will be able to navigate this with much more
- 6:14purpose and on point. All right, my friends, I'll see
- 6:17you tomorrow. Bye.
