- 1:22Speaker 1: it's too bad. But what did you expect to a
- 1:26Speaker 1: podcast call twenty five whistle line wheel. I will coming
- 1:32Speaker 1: to you from the bus on the way to the
- 1:33Speaker 1: super Bowl where we are in Mobile, Alabama, about the
- 1:37Speaker 1: head of New Orleans. And first we've had an incident
- 1:40Speaker 1: with a drunk person. We didn't know who I didn't
- 1:45Speaker 1: know who it was. He was looking at our window.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And we'll get to the super Bowl and sports in
- 1:49Speaker 1: a little bit and we'll have a lot of cool
- 1:50Speaker 1: guests on this episode. But this guy was looking in
- 1:53Speaker 1: the window from the front of the bus. Now, after
- 1:55Speaker 1: the show, our bus was parked behind the venue. So
- 1:58Speaker 1: we'll come. We get in the bus and like family stop,
- 2:01Speaker 1: Matt's family stops by, kick Off, Kevin's family stops by.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Rod brings people sist food and so there's a lot
- 2:12Speaker 1: of people going to now and some guys looking in
- 2:14Speaker 1: the window from the front of the bus, making direct
- 2:16Speaker 1: eye contact with me, and he's going and I don't
- 2:19Speaker 1: know what he's doing the window, yeah, on the front
- 2:22Speaker 1: of the bus, right, and so it's ah, and so
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'm like Eddie, and Eddie sees him and we all
- 2:27Speaker 1: look at each other and make eye contact. But I
- 2:29Speaker 1: don't know what he wants. And he looks absolutely trashed,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and it's a dude, and so Kevin goes, I'll handle it,
- 2:35Speaker 1: so kick off. Kevin walks outside and Kevin, what did
- 2:40Speaker 1: What did you say to the guy?
- 2:42Speaker 4: I just said, hey, what's up, man?
- 2:43Speaker 1: What do you want?
- 2:44Speaker 4: He's like, can I get a picture with Bobby and Eddie?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Obviously trash?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, he like Bobby Eddie And you didn't.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Know that we had actually made eye contact with him, No,
- 2:55Speaker 1: And so what did you say to him?
- 2:57Speaker 5: So?
- 2:57Speaker 4: I said, oh, they can't, man, they're already in their bunks. Man,
- 2:59Speaker 4: they're on the bed, they're fast asleep.
- 3:01Speaker 3: We're like five seconds earlier.
- 3:04Speaker 1: We're looking right at him. So we didn't tell you
- 3:08Speaker 1: to say that was hilarious. But how did he react
- 3:10Speaker 1: to that?
- 3:10Speaker 5: Oh?
- 3:11Speaker 4: Okay, it's still drunk, cool man, Yeah, all right, cool.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Well they did a great job tonight.
- 3:17Speaker 1: That's nice. That's nice guy. That's nice. As that guy
- 3:19Speaker 1: we would have taken a picture where nobody left because
- 3:21Speaker 1: he thought were asleep, although we were just looking at him.
- 3:23Speaker 1: A question for Matt still being a person that lives
- 3:28Speaker 1: on the road a lot, how do people meet artists?
- 3:33Speaker 1: What's the what's the key to like meeting your favorite artists,
- 3:36Speaker 1: like getting a picture or something, because obviously you can't
- 3:38Speaker 1: do it during the show you're on stage.
- 3:40Speaker 6: No, I mean there's I think probably the most successful
- 3:44Speaker 6: people are I'm telling this, but yeah, the most successful
- 3:51Speaker 6: people show up hours and hours before the venue and
- 3:55Speaker 6: like when the bus pulls up, uh, and they'll be
- 3:57Speaker 6: out there with the pictures that they want to sign.
- 4:00Speaker 4: They want you to sign.
- 4:01Speaker 6: That works sometimes they know sometimes they know the hotel,
- 4:06Speaker 6: which is not ideal. That's tough, and that's the nice
- 4:09Speaker 6: that you're glad that you don't have one and you're
- 4:10Speaker 6: just on the road, you know. But but yeah, I
- 4:12Speaker 6: mean you got to give it to some of them.
- 4:14Speaker 6: They put the work in, you know, you almost admire
- 4:17Speaker 6: it in some ways. In most ways it's harmless most
- 4:19Speaker 6: of the time. Sometimes it's less harmless.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But there were people outside waiting and they had books
- 4:25Speaker 1: and I went and signed them. But they were out
- 4:26Speaker 1: there for like an hour and a half or so.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I didn't know that out there the whole time, but
- 4:29Speaker 1: they just kind of out lasted everybody, and you know what,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you gotta tip your hat and we went out and
- 4:33Speaker 1: hung out with them, and you know, sign the bucks
- 4:35Speaker 1: and you're like the caring wait for an hour and
- 4:36Speaker 1: a half, Like it's it's an attrition, right, can they
- 4:39Speaker 1: last as everybody else is going home?
- 4:41Speaker 6: And most of the like most of the time when
- 4:45Speaker 6: we get on the bus, I mean it's kind of
- 4:48Speaker 6: the night is over, you know, like we are getting
- 4:50Speaker 6: in the bump, we're getting ready to go to leave.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Most of the time.
- 4:53Speaker 6: Sometimes when you only have between Mobile and New Orleans
- 4:57Speaker 6: for a bus ride, you're not leaving, so you're up
- 5:00Speaker 6: and like it's not a big deal. So it's a
- 5:01Speaker 6: lot of just timing, you know. It's not trying to
- 5:04Speaker 6: like not holler at people. But you also earlier late.
- 5:07Speaker 6: I think, get there really early or stay really late.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Early late or front row and be a child.
- 5:13Speaker 1: But is late like young, like a literal child, like
- 5:15Speaker 1: not like an idiot, like a young child.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that does help.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, if young kid wants to like hi, young kid,
- 5:22Speaker 1: you always saying is the whole late thing though?
- 5:26Speaker 7: Is it kind of like if you were leaving your
- 5:28Speaker 7: job and your boss is like, hey, one more thing
- 5:30Speaker 7: before you.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Leave, or is it would you rather do late or early?
- 5:34Speaker 6: It just it just so dependent on the night, Like
- 5:37Speaker 6: I never mind doing it, but it's like tonight, right,
- 5:41Speaker 6: So the three of us had a meet and greet
- 5:44Speaker 6: of one hundred people before, you know, we had like
- 5:47Speaker 6: a forty five minute you know, meet and greet before.
- 5:49Speaker 6: And part of the thing too is like a lot
- 5:51Speaker 6: of these radio stations or the venue or whatever or
- 5:54Speaker 6: the promoter is selling access to you with the meet
- 5:58Speaker 6: and greet. So it's like part of it is understood
- 6:01Speaker 6: that you're like a little less available than than than
- 6:04Speaker 6: you would be.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Not because you want to be, because it kind of
- 6:06Speaker 1: the the unspoken contract is if they're gonna sell the
- 6:11Speaker 1: ability to meet you, you, they don't want you to
- 6:14Speaker 1: give the full ability to everybody else for free.
- 6:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 6: And also, you know, like today was different because we
- 6:19Speaker 6: got here. It wasn't that long a drive like we
- 6:20Speaker 6: had time today. It wasn't a full band set up.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Like the day, we had a lot of gaps in
- 6:25Speaker 6: the day. We met a lot of people at coffee
- 6:27Speaker 6: shops and whatever, working out, come down, hang out. That's
- 6:30Speaker 6: totally different. But a lot of days you don't have it,
- 6:32Speaker 6: so we end up carving time out to meet people,
- 6:35Speaker 6: which is like meet and greets, call up when when
- 6:38Speaker 6: you say what's up to Bobby and Eddie and and
- 6:40Speaker 6: uh win it on the radio.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But yeah, we were walking up from the gym and
- 6:44Speaker 1: there were a bunch of people. I don't know why
- 6:45Speaker 1: they were here so early. Maybe they heard MAT's podcast
- 6:47Speaker 1: already in the future. Yeah, yeah, there were They were
- 6:50Speaker 1: already here and they were waiting two hours before.
- 6:51Speaker 4: So we stopped out with there's a lot of bus.
- 6:54Speaker 4: There's a lot of bus. There's there's a lot of noise.
- 6:57Speaker 4: The streets are talking, the streets won't shut up.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Dang dude.
- 7:01Speaker 7: You know what I found out for real though, Like
- 7:03Speaker 7: what's crazy is these NBA teams they all stay at
- 7:06Speaker 7: the same hotel. And I've heard from multiple people that like,
- 7:09Speaker 7: if you were gonna go to a Memphis Grizzlies game,
- 7:11Speaker 7: this is where the visiting team always stays.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I'm like, that just doesn't seem safe.
- 7:15Speaker 4: In that city. There's one place to still.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Emphis is a bad Oh yeah, you're telling everyone that's.
- 7:22Speaker 9: The only hotel.
- 7:23Speaker 1: When we went to Indianapolis went and did too much
- 7:26Speaker 1: access with the Pacers, we were at the hotel and
- 7:29Speaker 1: the Celtics were staying there. But that's the hotel right
- 7:31Speaker 1: across from the venue and a lot of people knew.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So when they again you have to get there and wait.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But you know, the big, nice hotel across from the
- 7:38Speaker 1: venues where all the teams are, people like, yeah, we
- 7:41Speaker 1: got them to sign all this stuff.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Yeah, so and they figure out pretty quickly that it's
- 7:44Speaker 6: like the nicest hotel, the closest in town.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Do you ever use a fake name at a hotel?
- 7:48Speaker 4: I ain't that. I'm not to that.
- 7:51Speaker 3: So just ask for Matt Stell in the front.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah, just go ask for me.
- 7:55Speaker 1: The bus is uh is moving. The bus is moving there,
- 7:59Speaker 1: they're pulling it in. So again, we're pretty excited about
- 8:03Speaker 1: the Super Bowl trip and a lot of cool guests
- 8:05Speaker 1: coming up in a few minutes. So Matt is part
- 8:09Speaker 1: of the story that you have not known. And this
- 8:10Speaker 1: has kind of sucked. I knew it was gonna suck
- 8:12Speaker 1: for somebody, and it just so happens it sucks for Kevin.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I had four tickets. There's five of us. But I
- 8:22Speaker 1: said this way early, before I knew who was gonna
- 8:24Speaker 1: lose every game. I don't know Kevin was gonna one
- 8:27Speaker 1: person was.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Nice and can we be honest if we're looking at
- 8:30Speaker 6: everybody that had a chance to win something, Kevin would
- 8:34Speaker 6: have been a first round draft pick.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Thanks man.
- 8:36Speaker 6: You know, like if your size, if it's Tale of
- 8:38Speaker 6: the Tape the Measurables, and you're looking at that boy,
- 8:40Speaker 6: you're not thinking he's losing it much.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And there were reasons people didn't want Read to go
- 8:44Speaker 1: because Red's moving in two months, like literally leaving the show.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I'm moving.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Reed doesn't watch football.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And we can here's about nothing about sports, but Reads
- 8:52Speaker 1: like I still want to go, so Read one.
- 8:55Speaker 6: There's only one way to settle this, and it's it's
- 8:58Speaker 6: through physical, mental challenging competition.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Child Games, which we played Connect for and Eddie beat
- 9:06Speaker 1: I beat Kevin and they los. Mike beat Red, so
- 9:10Speaker 1: loser's bracket. They played Operation and Read beat Kevin, but
- 9:15Speaker 1: it was two out of three. So then we played
- 9:17Speaker 1: bop it and read crushed. Kevin got.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Okay, I'm sorry cut this part out of the podcast.
- 9:25Speaker 4: I don't know what bop it is?
- 9:27Speaker 1: What that game or it's like bop it, pull it?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Why would we cut it out of the podcast though?
- 9:31Speaker 4: You think me you explaining it, it might be boring.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I'm it's a it's a contraption. You hold under the
- 9:37Speaker 1: and bop it. So you hit it, pull it.
- 9:40Speaker 6: Wait a minute, when you did seven, what do you
- 9:42Speaker 6: mean you did seventy seven in a row.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It's on Instagram, like you gotta consecutively.
- 9:46Speaker 8: When it's like bop it, you gotta.
- 9:47Speaker 4: You gotta hit it in the middle. When it's like twisted,
- 9:49Speaker 4: you got to twist one.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Side and pull it, and it goes faster and fast,
- 9:51Speaker 1: it gets faster.
- 9:52Speaker 4: That sounds like an unreal number.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It is it is And he almost dropped it to
- 9:56Speaker 1: and Kevin did drop it. It did not didn't get
- 10:00Speaker 1: to drop it.
- 10:00Speaker 10: After like after I knew I got more than Kevin,
- 10:04Speaker 10: it just kind of started flowing.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Out of Oh yeah, you got in a flow state,
- 10:07Speaker 4: that's what it was.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Okay, So I was looking and here's the thing. I
- 10:13Speaker 1: don't have any extra tickets as far as like, it
- 10:16Speaker 1: was never a trick, and I had to let them
- 10:18Speaker 1: know this is not some magic thing where it's like,
- 10:20Speaker 1: oh god, everybody promise. I said, well, you're you're already going, I.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Know, but I think, wait, wait, ed you promise?
- 10:29Speaker 1: I literally I said it over and over again because
- 10:32Speaker 1: I didn't want them to think, oprah, you get a car,
- 10:34Speaker 1: you get a car was going to happen. So I
- 10:37Speaker 1: got on one of these apps and I was looking
- 10:40Speaker 1: at how much the cheap the cheap, cheapest tickets are
- 10:43Speaker 1: like three thousand dollars right.
- 10:44Speaker 3: They're on sale.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Now I know they're only clearous wreck.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So I want to give Kevin one more chance.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Oh gosh, we got to drive the bus.
- 10:57Speaker 9: Crazy text.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So we have nobody touched anything. We have this King Cake.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 11:03Speaker 1: So we went to the grocery store and bought King Cake.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I'm not sure exactly the tradition of King cake, except
- 11:10Speaker 1: there's a baby in the cake. Do you know why?
- 11:12Speaker 6: It's Marty gral cake. And we're in Mobile, which is
- 11:15Speaker 6: the home. They will tell you everyone for Mobile will
- 11:17Speaker 6: tell you it is the absolute first ever Marty Girl
- 11:21Speaker 6: is where Marty Girl started.
- 11:22Speaker 3: But what's the story, Like, what's the whole tradition?
- 11:24Speaker 1: I just get this.
- 11:27Speaker 4: If you get the baby and the king cake is
- 11:28Speaker 4: like good luck.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So Read, if you'll grab a couple of plates, We're
- 11:31Speaker 1: gonna let Kevin pick a slice. And if he's got
- 11:36Speaker 1: the baby, my gosh, but he has to have the
- 11:38Speaker 1: baby though. If he's got the baby, I will buy
- 11:40Speaker 1: you a ticket. Whoa, but the slice. Look, we need
- 11:44Speaker 1: to talk about the slice here. The slice has got
- 11:47Speaker 1: to be one of the colors.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Okay, So if we're looking here, there's probably gonna be six.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Read's gonna video this. Okay, got it. So this
- 11:57Speaker 1: is on this cake, there's six. That's not a color.
- 12:04Speaker 1: That's that color, not the white, the white and purple
- 12:06Speaker 1: is like a miss spot.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, just so everyone knows, I don't see color.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I'm color blind. Two you both are coloredling, So I
- 12:19Speaker 1: don't know which part of the cake the baby is.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I swear I did not put it in. What happened
- 12:25Speaker 1: was at someone during our show come and put the
- 12:27Speaker 1: baby in from the bottom.
- 12:28Speaker 4: So somebody's handled that cake.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yes, So Kevin, you get to pick any color. Okay,
- 12:35Speaker 1: We're then gonna slice it. Now you can go with
- 12:38Speaker 1: which color covers more ground, because that's that's a strategy,
- 12:41Speaker 1: because summer bigger. You don't get both the purples, though,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you'll get one purple.
- 12:46Speaker 4: So you have to choose P one, P two y one?
- 12:49Speaker 4: Why two?
- 12:50Speaker 1: And we're gonna cut it and put it on a plate.
- 12:52Speaker 1: We're all gonna have a piece here, and we'll see
- 12:53Speaker 1: what you get though, because we'll all eat our cake
- 12:55Speaker 1: and see who gets the baby.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Only chance.
- 12:59Speaker 11: No, it was amazing.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I've got to pay three thousand dollars for you. He's like,
- 13:03Speaker 1: it's messed up.
- 13:04Speaker 6: I really hope he gets this. And he just sits
- 13:06Speaker 6: next to some absolute dumb dumbs himself.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Hey, that's that's what are you doing? You sitting with us? Okay, So, Kevin,
- 13:15Speaker 1: which section of the king cake do you want? Where
- 13:17Speaker 1: you hope the baby is?
- 13:19Speaker 4: Who hold it? Hold on? Hold on?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Rod's purple from from the sea.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Stab where you want?
- 13:26Speaker 1: All right, but a gentle stab. Okay, here we go.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I don't probe, don't hit the baby, just just yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: we don't want you. We just want you to touch
- 13:34Speaker 1: it and we'll cut it. You'll turn your back and
- 13:35Speaker 1: we'll cut it because we're all gonna get a piece, good, hard, right, Rod.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I think the purple might be the biggest spot, but
- 13:41Speaker 1: the purple is the biggest. This purple is the biggest,
- 13:44Speaker 1: pretty solid.
- 13:45Speaker 4: And I love green, okay green, Saint Patrick's sake, irish,
- 13:54Speaker 4: you know. And I've been looking at that green and
- 13:56Speaker 4: I'm going green, okay, big green.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Ready, don't stick all the way do the babies in there,
- 13:59Speaker 1: But you're going with that color. I don't want to kill. Okay,
- 14:02Speaker 1: hold it. So we're gonna cut the cake. We're gonna
- 14:04Speaker 1: break and we're gonna come back. Everybody's gonna have a piece.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But we'll cut that first, and then we will have
- 14:12Speaker 1: don't stab it, don'tn't go into it yet, don't go
- 14:13Speaker 1: to you yet.
- 14:14Speaker 9: Wait wait wait wait wait, and.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Then we will all eat it live and see who's
- 14:18Speaker 1: got the baby. Okay, every ready, good, yeah, okay, okay,
- 14:27Speaker 1: So we all have a piece of cake. Rods already
- 14:29Speaker 1: looking in his We all tried to not look, and
- 14:31Speaker 1: Rod looked at the entire time. Kevin, pick pick your
- 14:34Speaker 1: person to go into their cake. It can be you
- 14:37Speaker 1: just to see or.
- 14:38Speaker 4: You go no, No, I'm gonna go with the guy
- 14:42Speaker 4: who took me off. First, I'm gonna go with Eddie.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Eddie. Now, if the baby's in in in the cake,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you it's not, he doesn't win.
- 14:47Speaker 3: So how how do you want to do this?
- 14:48Speaker 11: Do you want to start eating?
- 14:49Speaker 1: Or do you want to just open it just to
- 14:50Speaker 1: take the fork and see what's up?
- 14:51Speaker 11: Buddy?
- 14:52Speaker 3: Uh dude, I will tell you I have a huge piece.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Well it's a purple it's a purple piece. I'm gonna
- 14:57Speaker 3: open it.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Okay, I don't see see no baby, no baby, no baby, nobody.
- 15:04Speaker 4: We're so live, We're still live, twenty percent chance still live.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Rod really wants okay.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I don't. Honestly, I'm gonna pick a Rod because I
- 15:12Speaker 4: just want like a child like waves going more than another.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Go ahead, Rod, I want to introduce a wrinkle. You
- 15:22Speaker 4: can trade pieces with anyone from now on twenty.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It's fine when it's not your money.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, you can tell somebody like sports game.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Want one and four chance, Mike's in it too. Mike's
- 15:35Speaker 1: in it too. Don't look at it. Okay, you can
- 15:39Speaker 1: always go to yours.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I know, but that's I just want to Bobby ego.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Okay, let's see.
- 15:46Speaker 4: No baby, no baby, no baby, no baby, no baby,
- 15:48Speaker 4: no baby.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Hey, the first level, there's no two levels. There's no baby,
- 15:51Speaker 1: there's no.
- 15:51Speaker 4: There's no baby. There's a big ass baby.
- 15:53Speaker 1: No, no baby.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Thirty three percent.
- 15:58Speaker 1: One and three baby chance. So what call he? So
- 16:04Speaker 1: Map's got a green that.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Matt, that's what?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Oh yellow?
- 16:09Speaker 4: They both they both got it. So we got a
- 16:11Speaker 4: yell okay, yellow Matt? How about it?
- 16:13Speaker 5: Man?
- 16:14Speaker 1: If man has the Baily reason, just do you want to.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Trade with me? Nope, you want to trade people.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 16:19Speaker 4: The baby in there?
- 16:22Speaker 1: No baby, Oh my god, we're the freaking cake fifty fifty.
- 16:32Speaker 9: I'm gonna laugh loud.
- 16:33Speaker 1: If Mike, I'm gonna laugh out loud. Mike open the cake.
- 16:36Speaker 4: If this Mikey has open the cake.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Baby no.
- 16:40Speaker 9: Hello, No, oh my god, showed the baby down.
- 16:52Speaker 3: No, Mike had the baby.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Well, everybody enjoyed their cake, literally the last person. And
- 16:59Speaker 1: you gonna swa this crazy the episode and we got
- 17:02Speaker 1: some really cool guests coming up. All right, thank you guys.
- 17:06Speaker 1: We are in New Orleans. We're in a place called
- 17:09Speaker 1: Radio Row. Back in the day, radio row was literally
- 17:11Speaker 1: like a hallway and a bunch of radio stations would
- 17:13Speaker 1: be set up. Now it is far more sophisticated, as
- 17:15Speaker 1: there are full sets right next to us. Jerome Bettis
- 17:18Speaker 1: is taking pictures on a set. I don't know if
- 17:21Speaker 1: that's Ed Reed. Edward has a gray beard now, which
- 17:24Speaker 1: is always kind of weird.
- 17:26Speaker 4: To Charles, who it is?
- 17:27Speaker 3: Wow?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Oh it sure is. Why are why are people getting old?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Like four unbelievable happens? How are athletes getting old? So
- 17:36Speaker 1: here's the thing. We're gonna have Reggie Bushes stopping by today.
- 17:41Speaker 1: We think we think a lot of people are stopping by,
- 17:44Speaker 1: but walking in. Let's just walk through the list of
- 17:46Speaker 1: folks that we saw.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Can we start with like one of the goats, Joe Montana.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You didn't see him, well, I think I had to
- 17:55Speaker 1: point him out to you. He was standing like right
- 17:57Speaker 1: beside us, and he was doing sitting in a chair
- 17:59Speaker 1: like doing a talk, and he was just like there,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and I was like Eddie, Joe Montana, And at first
- 18:03Speaker 1: I think it was it feels like a joke because
- 18:06Speaker 1: you're like Joe Montana, Mickey Mouse like, yes, uh so
- 18:11Speaker 1: we saw just walking in Joe Montana, George Kittle, George Kittle,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm looking. I get maybe Ed Reid's doing that show
- 18:19Speaker 1: because Edreid is now still sitting over there, so edwid
- 18:22Speaker 1: could be doing a show next to us, not just
- 18:24Speaker 1: a guest. But this is the area where all the
- 18:28Speaker 1: like stars stop by, which is pretty cool.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Right behind us, we have a Cam Newton podcast. I
- 18:33Speaker 3: guess his show is down there.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Is he over there yet? You'll know by his hat?
- 18:35Speaker 5: Cam?
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw Cam Heyward walking through. I also saw
- 18:40Speaker 1: Champ Bailey just walking with a day pass on right
- 18:42Speaker 1: behind us, like we're walking through and chant. So the
- 18:45Speaker 1: point is this is a crazy situation. I don't want
- 18:47Speaker 1: to give you if we just do all backstory, that's boring. Uh,
- 18:50Speaker 1: But here's what we're going to do before we start today.
- 18:52Speaker 1: We've and I don't it's just not going to be
- 18:57Speaker 1: you know, the two hands, the All State hand that's
- 19:00Speaker 1: just there for you. Yes, so just I don't want
- 19:03Speaker 1: to be the All State hands. But I do want
- 19:05Speaker 1: to give Kevin another opportunity to win a super Bowl ticket.
- 19:10Speaker 11: He's filming right now too.
- 19:12Speaker 1: They keep coming to go on because we failed many times.
- 19:15Speaker 1: He's lost every game and Rida sitting at the table
- 19:18Speaker 1: read has a super Bowl ticket to what Mike, who
- 19:23Speaker 1: is running audio as the producer, wh's got a super
- 19:26Speaker 1: Bowl ticket? We did the King Cake. Kevin didn't win that, Like,
- 19:31Speaker 1: he was so close. I feel like I've given him one, two, five,
- 19:36Speaker 1: four opportunities.
- 19:38Speaker 3: For King Cake was the fourth opportunity where I'm willing.
- 19:40Speaker 1: To fork out thousands of dollars, but you have to win.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm just not going to be those hands.
- 19:45Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So of course it's fair. It's more than me.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 19:49Speaker 1: What we're going to do here is there will be
- 19:51Speaker 1: a scavenger hunt. Again, not an easy one. So as
- 19:57Speaker 1: part of the scavenger hunt, there'll be three things that
- 20:01Speaker 1: you will have to obtain over the next I would
- 20:06Speaker 1: say two and a half hours. But the problem is
- 20:10Speaker 1: you can't like bring there's Max Crosby walking in front
- 20:12Speaker 1: of us to all the chains.
- 20:13Speaker 11: He's a monster.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The first thing, the first thing is to rip the
- 20:17Speaker 1: chain off of Max Crosby and bring us.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Dude, look at that chain on it.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Not only that he's got to be six sixd.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I mean everyone around him is at least two feet
- 20:29Speaker 3: taller than him.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Okay, not taller, but they're also small. Women.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Got to stop staring you.
- 20:36Speaker 1: No, he's in front of us okay, here's here's okay,
- 20:40Speaker 1: here are the rules again. It can't be while something
- 20:45Speaker 1: is being interrupted, okay. So we can't be in the
- 20:47Speaker 1: middle of an interview and all of a sudden you
- 20:49Speaker 1: show up with Joe Namath is still he does diabetes
- 20:53Speaker 1: commercial or something. So the number one thing is you
- 20:57Speaker 1: have to bring somebody to us to interview that we
- 21:02Speaker 1: recognize immediately that you do not have to explain who
- 21:04Speaker 1: it is.
- 21:05Speaker 11: Okay.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Do you want to make it Hall of Fame level or.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I think we just know who it is. For example,
- 21:10Speaker 1: if it were like not Read, because Read doesn't know
- 21:14Speaker 1: who anybody is, I's gonna ask does have to know
- 21:16Speaker 1: who it is? Eddie and I have to know who
- 21:17Speaker 1: they are, and we if we interviewed them for even five, six,
- 21:20Speaker 1: seven minutes and we finished, but Eddie's like, I didn't
- 21:22Speaker 1: know who that was, it doesn't count.
- 21:23Speaker 11: Okay.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So if I just know Eddie doesn't it doesn't count.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So it has to be somebody that we recognize in
- 21:29Speaker 1: the sports world. It can't be like somebody that works
- 21:31Speaker 1: at iHeart with us and we know you guys know
- 21:33Speaker 1: Mike d.
- 21:34Speaker 11: So you know overtime Meghan.
- 21:36Speaker 1: That's numbers your microphone is so quiet, is it?
- 21:39Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 21:40Speaker 4: Maybe what are you what were you saying overtime, Megan
- 21:43Speaker 4: the streamer, No, you don't know her.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I saw her, so that one you would know his
- 21:48Speaker 1: microphone so quiet it is? Or does he talk a
- 21:50Speaker 1: little bit very delicately? Uh so, oh yeah, turn me
- 21:55Speaker 1: back up, bro. How about now you're turning me down?
- 21:57Speaker 1: Now that's headphones? Oh never mind said okay, Uh, we
- 22:01Speaker 1: will thank you read for your contribution to the course.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So number one is somebody we recognize at least for
- 22:09Speaker 1: five minutes of an interview. Number two is we need
- 22:13Speaker 1: a ball of some sort signed by somebody of prominence football, right,
- 22:23Speaker 1: doesn't matter if it could be a you find a
- 22:25Speaker 1: softball here, a soccer ball, and you get someone of
- 22:27Speaker 1: prominence to sign it.
- 22:29Speaker 3: All good?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Okay. That's number two, okay, And number three is I
- 22:34Speaker 1: don't like come up with number three yet, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: like my jersey swap idea, No, because I don't want him.
- 22:38Speaker 1: We'll get kicked out because Kevin's taking off.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, like swap jerseys it.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Number three is get a video from somebody that's known saying, hey, everybody,
- 22:51Speaker 1: you should uh listen to the twenty five Whistles podcast
- 22:54Speaker 1: solid that we can post. Those are your three things
- 22:59Speaker 1: and as of now, I'm gonna start the clock. Oh
- 23:01Speaker 1: we have seth Rawlins could do now. Yes, honestly, Kevin,
- 23:08Speaker 1: this is pretty good. I mean that's awesome, good stuff,
- 23:10Speaker 1: like you could do all those things. Minute, We're gonna
- 23:14Speaker 1: shut down for a second because seth Rawlins about to
- 23:16Speaker 1: come by and I'm big w W guy, So I
- 23:20Speaker 1: just watched Roll Rumble. I'm gonna just let you roll
- 23:22Speaker 1: on oute. So okay, cool, speak out. You are now
- 23:26Speaker 1: on the clock. But you also can't leave your job
- 23:28Speaker 1: and your duties for a long time.
- 23:29Speaker 4: That's the hard part.
- 23:30Speaker 1: That's the hard part, because if we're like, where's Kevin
- 23:32Speaker 1: and you're not here, then you lose seven.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Just keep an eye out. People are walking back and
- 23:37Speaker 3: forth right here, dude.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Have you see so I know. The first thing I
- 23:40Speaker 4: need to do is find a football and I'm gonna
- 23:42Speaker 4: go from there, find the ball and sharp the ball
- 23:46Speaker 4: and a shark.
- 23:47Speaker 1: There may even be like a store here, I don't know. Possibly, Okay,
- 23:50Speaker 1: good luck, thank you, and thank you for the opportunity,
- 23:53Speaker 1: the fifth opportunity, the fifth opportunity.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, he's really trying to get you there.
- 23:58Speaker 4: See you guys in two and half hours from New Or.
- 24:00Speaker 1: This is twenty five whistles back in a second with
- 24:03Speaker 1: I don't know somebody will continue this going take a break.

- 25:27Speaker 1: First, is Reggie Bush, Heisman Trophy winner, got it giving
- 25:31Speaker 1: back to him last year after fourteen years of it
- 25:35Speaker 1: being taken away. Super Bowl champion with the Saints in
- 25:38Speaker 1: the Saints Hall of Fame, two time National champion, second
- 25:41Speaker 1: overall pick. NFL stats over five thousand yards rushing, thirty
- 25:45Speaker 1: six touchdowns, four hundred and seventy seven receptions, eighteen receiving touchdowns.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Hits a whole bunch. Here he is. I'll tell he
- 25:52Speaker 1: look good too, like fit young. I wish I looked
- 25:56Speaker 1: like that in a hoodie, right, like you look good?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Here is Reggie Bush? All right, we got Reggie Bush.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We got five questions with Reggie. By the way, it
- 26:05Speaker 1: feels like like camaraderie.
- 26:08Speaker 11: Yeah, absolutely, exactly what it is.
- 26:09Speaker 1: A lot of time. You've seen a lot of people.
- 26:11Speaker 1: You haven't seen it a long time, but like you're
- 26:12Speaker 1: friends with but maybe you haven't kept as close because
- 26:15Speaker 1: life kind of gets in a way.
- 26:16Speaker 12: Well, I mean Roman, Me and Roman played together, we
- 26:18Speaker 12: won a Super Bowl together, so and you know, seeing
- 26:21Speaker 12: him obviously is great.
- 26:22Speaker 11: And I was just telling him I text him the
- 26:23Speaker 11: other day. He didn't text me back.
- 26:25Speaker 1: They changed, Like any of my any of my friends
- 26:27Speaker 1: that are famous, They go, I changed my number. I
- 26:29Speaker 1: forgot to give you the new one. Then I'm like
- 26:31Speaker 1: equally as insulted because I'm like, well, you give me
- 26:33Speaker 1: the new exactly. Okay. So question one, do you ever
- 26:38Speaker 1: get out? Do you ever run and time yourself now
- 26:40Speaker 1: to see if you still have it?
- 26:41Speaker 5: No?
- 26:42Speaker 11: I run, but I don't run and time myself. But
- 26:44Speaker 11: I do run a lot though. I stay in shape.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Man.
- 26:48Speaker 12: I actually run on a treadmill probably four or five
- 26:50Speaker 12: times a week, running sprints, you know, running uphills, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 12: just doing different things to keep my legs moving because
- 26:59Speaker 12: you know, if you don't use it, you're gonna lose it.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I did a fort nine in South Carolina. I'm just letting.
- 27:06Speaker 4: At my age now not that like now did it
- 27:08Speaker 4: for not?
- 27:09Speaker 1: I I know, fourth three, but you know four nine
- 27:12Speaker 1: for me being kind of goofy, I felt pretty good.
- 27:14Speaker 7: Reggie, you want a Super Bowl When after it's all over,
- 27:19Speaker 7: do you go back and watch the game and get
- 27:20Speaker 7: to see commercial get to have that super Bowl experience?
- 27:24Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 27:24Speaker 12: I mean, I'm a huge fan of football, right, Football
- 27:27Speaker 12: is it has been a part of my life since
- 27:29Speaker 12: I was a very young boy, and it always will
- 27:33Speaker 12: be a part.
- 27:33Speaker 11: Of my life in some way, shape or form.
- 27:34Speaker 12: And so you know, for me, you know, the Super
- 27:37Speaker 12: bowls is everything you know and to be able to
- 27:40Speaker 12: you know, watch it or to have played in it,
- 27:44Speaker 12: It's just an amazing event that happens every year.
- 27:47Speaker 11: It's almost like a.
- 27:48Speaker 12: Holiday now, you know. They they it's just amazing. And
- 27:52Speaker 12: I love the game and I love everything about it.
- 27:54Speaker 12: And this, to me as well, is also what makes
- 27:57Speaker 12: super Bowl so special, is just being able to have
- 28:00Speaker 12: much other people here from different walks of life to come.
- 28:04Speaker 11: In here and take part in the festivities.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So I do another show with your former teammate Matt Castle. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 1: and like that's my dude, And I was like, dude,
- 28:12Speaker 1: you for shore Castle. I was like, you're for sure
- 28:13Speaker 1: what a transfer? He never started, like he never which
- 28:16Speaker 1: is wild. And I was like, the portal existed, now,
- 28:19Speaker 1: you'd have been out and He's like, yeah, I'd have
- 28:20Speaker 1: been out because I never got to play. Your thoughts
- 28:22Speaker 1: on the portal and had it existed back when you played,
- 28:26Speaker 1: what do you think that had have been?
- 28:26Speaker 11: Like, I think it would have.
- 28:29Speaker 5: You know.
- 28:29Speaker 12: One, I love seeing the transfer portal because when I
- 28:34Speaker 12: was playing, we didn't have those opportunities and if you
- 28:37Speaker 12: wanted to transfer somewhere, you had to sit out a
- 28:39Speaker 12: whole year, So you had to sit out a whole
- 28:41Speaker 12: year of your career, which is you know, for football,
- 28:45Speaker 12: you can't afford to miss years, like you need to
- 28:47Speaker 12: play every year and get better and better every year.
- 28:49Speaker 11: And so you know, guys didn't have the opportunities.
- 28:52Speaker 12: And so I love seeing the transferportal now because you're
- 28:54Speaker 12: putting more power back into the player's hands and allowing
- 28:57Speaker 12: them to have more decision make over their careers and
- 29:01Speaker 12: what they want to do and where they want to go.
- 29:03Speaker 11: And we've seen some great stories play out because of it.
- 29:06Speaker 12: Joe Burrow is a benefit, it's a benefactor of the
- 29:09Speaker 12: transferporter Dylan Gabriel.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Dylan Gabriel, But what about every Okay, if you were
- 29:14Speaker 1: they said, Reggie, you're about to be the czar of
- 29:16Speaker 1: college football, would you allow them to transfer four? Four times?
- 29:20Speaker 5: Like?
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yeah, should?
- 29:22Speaker 12: I don't think it should be four times, you know,
- 29:25Speaker 12: I think it should. There should be definitely a limit,
- 29:27Speaker 12: maybe three times, because four is a lot. And we
- 29:30Speaker 12: also want to we want to encourage players, you know,
- 29:35Speaker 12: to seek out competition, right, don't be afraid of competition.
- 29:38Speaker 12: Don't be afraid to compete. If there's a guy there,
- 29:40Speaker 12: maybe in your position, he may be starting. That's okay,
- 29:44Speaker 12: because we've seen a ton of stories of guys. For example,
- 29:48Speaker 12: Jalen Hurts got benched in the championship game and we've
- 29:51Speaker 12: seen how his career has played out. Right, And so
- 29:53Speaker 12: one of the things for me, and and again this
- 29:56Speaker 12: is because we didn't have transfer portal, but my era,
- 29:59Speaker 12: we belie leave then working through competition and seeking out competition.
- 30:04Speaker 12: Especially on our team at USC, we were all about competition.
- 30:08Speaker 12: We we were great friends off the field, but we
- 30:11Speaker 12: tried to kill each other in practice. Like that's that
- 30:14Speaker 12: for us, that was friendly competition, right, That's how you competed,
- 30:17Speaker 12: and that's how we made each other better.
- 30:21Speaker 7: Reggie, Bobby and I two idiots. Do you think that
- 30:25Speaker 7: we could get on the field?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Pat it up?
- 30:28Speaker 7: Fourth and one, fourth and one. Nope, right there, because
- 30:32Speaker 7: I got friends that live four nine.
- 30:36Speaker 11: You know who else? Running for fort nine? Them de
- 30:39Speaker 11: tackles another. Actually they run a four to six that's.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Not for to one on the goal line though there's
- 30:44Speaker 1: a difference difference.
- 30:46Speaker 12: But here's the thing you which So what you're forgetting
- 30:48Speaker 12: and not thinking about is the defensive line. Their first
- 30:53Speaker 12: three steps are the most explosive three steps you have
- 30:57Speaker 12: ever witnessed them coming off the ball and punching a
- 31:00Speaker 12: lineman into his chest is like the force of a
- 31:04Speaker 12: silver backed guerrilla Like it's you can't even imagine how
- 31:07Speaker 12: hard these guys are coming off the line and punching
- 31:09Speaker 12: lineman in the chest and having to move these three
- 31:12Speaker 12: hundred pounds six five sixty seven guys backwards.
- 31:15Speaker 11: And so yeah, you can try, but you're gonna run
- 31:18Speaker 11: into a brick wall.
- 31:20Speaker 12: Ten chances, one chance, and you can get your head
- 31:23Speaker 12: knocked off ten times in a row.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Final question, as far as football itself, what is your
- 31:30Speaker 1: favorite piece of memorabilia that you kept from your career
- 31:33Speaker 1: that you still have.
- 31:34Speaker 11: Oh wow, man, that's that's such a good such a
- 31:38Speaker 11: good question.
- 31:39Speaker 12: And I'm gonna go back to the to the trophy
- 31:42Speaker 12: that I recently just received back, my Heisman Trophy.
- 31:45Speaker 11: You know, to me, that was the pinnacle of my
- 31:48Speaker 11: college career.
- 31:49Speaker 12: That was you know me, that was confirmation that everything
- 31:52Speaker 12: I did on the football field, you know, was was
- 31:55Speaker 12: you know, there was substance behind it, right Like the
- 31:58Speaker 12: things that I did on the field, people resonated with it.
- 32:01Speaker 12: You know, I inspired a generation of athletes to want
- 32:04Speaker 12: to play, you know, like me and rock the number five,
- 32:08Speaker 12: you know, guys like Jayden Daniels, Christian McCaffrey in College
- 32:11Speaker 12: War number five because of me. And you know, that's
- 32:13Speaker 12: what it's about. For me, That's what it's about. Is
- 32:15Speaker 12: is is leaving you know, just just leaving a legacy
- 32:20Speaker 12: right for these guys to follow. And so for me,
- 32:22Speaker 12: the Heisman Trophy, you know, that was everything, you know,
- 32:25Speaker 12: being able to win that and the showcase you know
- 32:28Speaker 12: that I could that I was the best player in
- 32:30Speaker 12: college football and still to today to day, one of
- 32:32Speaker 12: the greatest college football players to ever played.
- 32:34Speaker 5: The game.
- 32:35Speaker 12: You know, that one meant the world to me, and
- 32:37Speaker 12: to be able to get it back and to now
- 32:40Speaker 12: be able to show my kids that trophy is everything
- 32:42Speaker 12: to me because my kids weren't there when I got
- 32:44Speaker 12: it the first time, but they were there.
- 32:46Speaker 11: My wife was there with me when I got the
- 32:47Speaker 11: second time.
- 32:48Speaker 1: We love tostitos. What do you do with tellstedoes?
- 32:50Speaker 11: Man? So we we issued a nationwide stop the clock challenge.
- 32:54Speaker 11: You had to stop the clock at.
- 32:55Speaker 12: Five point nine seconds to enter in this opportunity to
- 32:58Speaker 12: be the person who hits the button to release the
- 33:00Speaker 12: confetti at the end of the super Bowl's cool?
- 33:03Speaker 11: Yeah, and so it was awesome.
- 33:06Speaker 12: You know, one way you could practice stopping the clock
- 33:08Speaker 12: at five point nine seconds is maybe on your iPad
- 33:10Speaker 12: or your iPhone. And we selected a winner and she's
- 33:14Speaker 12: here now she gets a chance to hit that that
- 33:16Speaker 12: confetti button at the end, and it's awesome, man. So
- 33:19Speaker 12: you know, chips and dips are part of Super Bowl, right,
- 33:21Speaker 12: that's the go to meal for me, I'm sure for
- 33:24Speaker 12: everybody when you're watching the super Bowl. So that's that's
- 33:27Speaker 12: that's what I'm doing here with with the tostitos, and man,
- 33:29Speaker 12: excited about it, but.
- 33:30Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Awesome to watch your entire career. I'm
- 33:34Speaker 1: read A four nine. That's all I want to say. Ready,
- 33:37Speaker 1: appreciate you. Next up is Greg Olsen, who you know
- 33:43Speaker 1: lost that number one spot in the booth to Tom Brady.
- 33:47Speaker 1: But I think now we see that Greg Olsen is
- 33:50Speaker 1: actually the best. Oh yeah, he I mean to me,
- 33:53Speaker 1: he is the best. Well, I don't think we knew
- 33:55Speaker 1: he was the best until someone else came along. Correct,
- 33:58Speaker 1: and Brady's gotten a lot better. I think Greg since
- 34:00Speaker 1: the best now is number one a plus.
- 34:02Speaker 3: And what I like about talking to him is he
- 34:05Speaker 3: he talks exactly the same way he talks in the booth.
- 34:08Speaker 3: There's no difference. Same dude, same he just I feel
- 34:11Speaker 3: like he just says whatever he feels.
- 34:12Speaker 1: He played fourteen seasons in the NFL, thirty first overall
- 34:15Speaker 1: picked by the Bears in two thousand and seven, played
- 34:17Speaker 1: for the Bears, Panther Seahawks, two times second team All Pro,
- 34:21Speaker 1: three time Pro Bowler, and he does coaches kids football teams,
- 34:26Speaker 1: which I knew, so I kind of started him with that.
- 34:29Speaker 1: And he's huge, pretty big dude for sure. Here he
- 34:31Speaker 1: is Greg Olsen. Here with Greg Olsen. Greg question, what
- 34:36Speaker 1: and you spent your whole life playing football, being lead
- 34:38Speaker 1: of football, but like working with coaching kids, how has
- 34:42Speaker 1: that changed how you feel about your coaches when you
- 34:46Speaker 1: were younger.
- 34:47Speaker 8: Well, it's a great question, you know.
- 34:49Speaker 13: I think anybody who's ever coached young kids, if you
- 34:52Speaker 13: can coach young kids, you can coach anybody. I actually
- 34:55Speaker 13: think it makes you a better coach because you have
- 34:58Speaker 13: to really think the and really give a lot of
- 35:01Speaker 13: intent to Okay that what I take for granted, the
- 35:04Speaker 13: way I would talk football and the way I would
- 35:06Speaker 13: coach football if I was playing with my peers would
- 35:09Speaker 13: be is very different than how I need to communicate
- 35:11Speaker 13: that same coaching point to a fourteen year old thirteen
- 35:13Speaker 13: year old kid. So I actually think it makes you
- 35:16Speaker 13: kind of look back and say, Okay, what is a
- 35:17Speaker 13: better way of doing this? What does they make a
- 35:19Speaker 13: more clear way of communicating this technique or this alignment
- 35:23Speaker 13: or this formation or whatever we're trying to implement, And
- 35:26Speaker 13: it actually ends up making you do it a lot
- 35:28Speaker 13: more effectively. It makes you actually doing it a lot
- 35:30Speaker 13: more efficiently versus just hey, this is how we've always
- 35:32Speaker 13: done it. Well, is there a better way of doing
- 35:34Speaker 13: it because the way we've always done it doesn't work
- 35:37Speaker 13: for seventh graders, right. We need to make sure we
- 35:39Speaker 13: do it in a way that's that's easy for them
- 35:41Speaker 13: to absorb and to grab. So I think there's no
- 35:44Speaker 13: greater impact on these young kids than their young you know,
- 35:47Speaker 13: than than their coaches at the young level.
- 35:49Speaker 8: I love doing it.
- 35:50Speaker 13: I coach a season of each of my kids in
- 35:52Speaker 13: different sports, girls, basketball, baseball, football, whatever the sport is.
- 35:56Speaker 8: I love being around the kids. I love coaching them.
- 35:58Speaker 13: I love trying to influenced them, and it goes well
- 36:02Speaker 13: beyond just teaching them the sport. I think there's so
- 36:04Speaker 13: many other lessons that we've all taken from our playing
- 36:06Speaker 13: days as young kids that we carry with us forever.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I wonder if it's like as a parent, you go, man,
- 36:12Speaker 1: I really appreciate my parents more now that i've done.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Are you having that experience now that you're in that level,
- 36:18Speaker 1: You're like, dang, I don't really understand what's going on
- 36:19Speaker 1: with our coaches back then.
- 36:20Speaker 13: Yeah, I didn't realize how how many sleepless nights my
- 36:23Speaker 13: youth football coach was having because I didn't know, Because
- 36:25Speaker 13: I didn't know where to hell to line up. Yeah,
- 36:28Speaker 13: I think I think it's a very good, you know,
- 36:30Speaker 13: kind of comparison where until you have kids, you don't
- 36:32Speaker 13: realize how hard you made the life of your own parents,
- 36:34Speaker 13: and it's kind of like God's way of like passing
- 36:36Speaker 13: it forward, you know. And the same thing with coaching.
- 36:38Speaker 13: You know, until you coach and until you kind of
- 36:41Speaker 13: feel it, then you don't really have an appreciation for
- 36:43Speaker 13: just how hard the other side is. Right your whole
- 36:45Speaker 13: time as a player, you're thinking, well, I've got all
- 36:48Speaker 13: the answers, like why do I Well, all of a sudden,
- 36:50Speaker 13: now you put yourself on the other side of that coin,
- 36:52Speaker 13: You're like, Okay, I get it. Now it's not quite
- 36:54Speaker 13: as easy as I always thought it was when I
- 36:56Speaker 13: was on the other side of that conversation. So, yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 13: I have a lot of appreciation for all my youth coaches.
- 37:01Speaker 13: My dad was my high school football coach. So I
- 37:04Speaker 13: look back on those memories with a lot of fondness
- 37:06Speaker 13: and gratitude, and now try to pay it forward to
- 37:09Speaker 13: the to the kids that we're trying to impact.
- 37:11Speaker 7: Greg, you were so good on the field, You're awesome
- 37:14Speaker 7: on TV. What do you suck at though, Like, what
- 37:17Speaker 7: do you just.
- 37:18Speaker 13: Suck at golf for a terrible golfer. I'm bad at directions. Yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 13: I suck at a lot. I mean there's there's plenty
- 37:28Speaker 13: of things.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Can you cook Nope, Okay, we're getting them. We got
- 37:32Speaker 1: all that.
- 37:32Speaker 13: I mean, we can do this for the whole show.
- 37:34Speaker 13: We can do this for the whole broadcast. There's a
- 37:37Speaker 13: lot of things that I suck at.
- 37:38Speaker 1: When you decided to get into media and take your
- 37:41Speaker 1: career in that direction, did you do the things where
- 37:43Speaker 1: you get in a room and do fake games or
- 37:45Speaker 1: old games and call them? Like, what was the introduction?
- 37:48Speaker 1: Because again, I like Eddie, I think you're the greatest
- 37:51Speaker 1: at what you do. I think you're a number one
- 37:52Speaker 1: right now. How did that start for you? What was
- 37:56Speaker 1: entry level?
- 37:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 37:57Speaker 8: So the entry level for me was actually pretty fascinating.
- 38:00Speaker 13: So back in twenty fifteen, Fox had me come out
- 38:03Speaker 13: to their studios and we just did a dry audition game.
- 38:06Speaker 13: Just come out, call a game set of monitors in
- 38:09Speaker 13: a studio the game had happened whatever the previous year,
- 38:12Speaker 13: and actually called it with Kevin Burkhardt, who ended up
- 38:14Speaker 13: being my partner years later. But just called like the
- 38:17Speaker 13: first half of that game, and then I did a
- 38:19Speaker 13: similar thing with ESPN. I went up to Bristol and
- 38:22Speaker 13: called the mock game as just an audition. Never aired
- 38:25Speaker 13: none of that, and then from there Fox, you know
- 38:28Speaker 13: through again with Fox. In twenty seventeen, on my bye week,
- 38:31Speaker 13: they asked me to join a three man booth with
- 38:34Speaker 13: Kevin Burkhart and Charles Davis. So I got to jump
- 38:36Speaker 13: in on their booth and be the third kind of
- 38:38Speaker 13: the third wheel and call live game. So that was
- 38:41Speaker 13: my first ever real broadcast in a stadium, live action
- 38:45Speaker 13: on national television. So that kind of got me the
- 38:47Speaker 13: taste for it and said, okay, you know, I kind
- 38:49Speaker 13: of like this, like I think I can do this.
- 38:51Speaker 13: And then from there I did it again in twenty nineteen,
- 38:55Speaker 13: that time in a two man booth, and then in
- 38:56Speaker 13: twenty twenty I called the first five weeks of the XFL,
- 39:00Speaker 13: so I was able to kind of slowly build and
- 39:02Speaker 13: slowly lean into that. And then obviously in twenty twenty one,
- 39:07Speaker 13: you know started my first season with a full time
- 39:09Speaker 13: slate of games on Fox.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Would you practice at home? Are you a studious guy
- 39:14Speaker 1: with broadcasting as you were when you played, So there's
- 39:18Speaker 1: no playbook for this, but would you like watch games
- 39:21Speaker 1: and turn it down and like let me try let
- 39:23Speaker 1: me try this at home, or you know.
- 39:25Speaker 13: My creative process is more, you know, having a lot
- 39:28Speaker 13: of cool open conversations, talking through storyline ideas with people
- 39:32Speaker 13: that I trust, people that I know that know the game,
- 39:35Speaker 13: and you can kind of bounce off ideas. And my
- 39:37Speaker 13: rule is like, hey, I'd rather flush out a really
- 39:39Speaker 13: bad idea at dinner or the night before the game,
- 39:42Speaker 13: with our production.
- 39:43Speaker 8: Meetings with our crew.
- 39:44Speaker 13: I'd rather really flush out a really bad idea that
- 39:47Speaker 13: in my head goes, oh my god, I'm so glad.
- 39:49Speaker 13: I'm not going to say that tomorrow on air, you know.
- 39:51Speaker 13: But that's that's part of my creative process. I think
- 39:53Speaker 13: everybody has their different style. I'm a talker, I'm a thinker.
- 39:57Speaker 13: I kind of flushed my ideas out in real time
- 39:59Speaker 13: as I kind of test them on different test groups.
- 40:02Speaker 13: So that's that's my process. I'm not actually sitting there
- 40:05Speaker 13: like mock calling games or dry calling games. I do
- 40:08Speaker 13: think through, Okay, how do I want to come onto
- 40:10Speaker 13: the air? All right, let's map that out. Hey, how
- 40:12Speaker 13: do we want to present Jalen hurts tomorrow. Okay, let's
- 40:14Speaker 13: map that out, and you know, Patrick Mahomes and so
- 40:17Speaker 13: on and so on. So I try to think through
- 40:19Speaker 13: those scenarios. But then once the game starts, you want
- 40:23Speaker 13: it to sound a little spontaneous, right, You want it
- 40:26Speaker 13: to stay. You don't want it to sound like it's
- 40:27Speaker 13: been predetermined. What you were going to say four days.
- 40:30Speaker 7: Ago, Greg, I brought my arm roll. Yeah, my kids,
- 40:34Speaker 7: just being an idiot. What's the dumbest way you've injured yourself?
- 40:37Speaker 7: Not game related and not nothing like that, just the
- 40:40Speaker 7: dumbest way.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 40:41Speaker 13: So it was so I was still playing. It was
- 40:44Speaker 13: like fresh into an off season. This was probably like
- 40:46Speaker 13: twenty eighteen nineteen, fresh into an off season, and my
- 40:51Speaker 13: wife asked me to change the printer. Inc it's pretty standard,
- 40:55Speaker 13: you know, it's a pretty standard home chore, right for
- 40:57Speaker 13: a guy. Well, again, it adds to my I'm not
- 41:00Speaker 13: very good at things. So I couldn't figure out exactly
- 41:02Speaker 13: where it was the cartridge. Long story short, there was
- 41:04Speaker 13: an open cupboard in our pantry above the printer or
- 41:07Speaker 13: like the you know, the office or whatever. And when
- 41:11Speaker 13: I stood up from changing the printer, I caught the
- 41:13Speaker 13: side of the cupboard. I had to call our team
- 41:16Speaker 13: orthopedic doctor who like repaired my foot, he repaired my
- 41:20Speaker 13: shoulder like he was like our team orthopedic, but he
- 41:23Speaker 13: lived down the street. For me, I had to call
- 41:25Speaker 13: him at like ten o'clock at night, go over to
- 41:27Speaker 13: his house. His wife had some nursing background or whatever,
- 41:31Speaker 13: and in their kitchen they're in like nice clothes. It's
- 41:34Speaker 13: the weekend, and he is stapling my head as I'm
- 41:37Speaker 13: gushing blood, towels everything. I mean, I had a huge gash,
- 41:41Speaker 13: so I split my head open. Changing computer inc.
- 41:46Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 41:46Speaker 3: That's really good.
- 41:47Speaker 13: That's the first one that comes to mind. I'm sure
- 41:49Speaker 13: there's a thousand other ones.
- 41:50Speaker 1: A final question as far as how do you game
- 41:53Speaker 1: plan against bags, like what do you do well?
- 41:58Speaker 13: I think that's that's a very good question. I don't
- 42:01Speaker 13: know if there's like a concrete answer. I think it
- 42:04Speaker 13: all starts with just you know, you try to get
- 42:06Speaker 13: a feel for like, all, right, what's his flavor? Right,
- 42:08Speaker 13: what's and it's not Okay, what's he gonna do on the.
- 42:10Speaker 8: First play of the game. You have an idea of
- 42:13Speaker 8: what their trends are gonna be.
- 42:14Speaker 13: They're not gonna completely reinvent themselves in two weeks, but
- 42:18Speaker 13: you have to anticipate the critical moments, and that's where
- 42:21Speaker 13: the Chiefs have set themselves apart from everybody else. It's
- 42:24Speaker 13: all right, what do you think Spags is gonna do
- 42:25Speaker 13: on the in the low red zone When we're on
- 42:28Speaker 13: borderline field goal range and it's third and five, He's
- 42:31Speaker 13: gonna have a dialed up pressure to exploit my protection twofold.
- 42:34Speaker 13: He wants to force fourth down and he wants to
- 42:36Speaker 13: knock me out a field goal range. So you've got
- 42:38Speaker 13: to be prepared. You've got to have the right call
- 42:40Speaker 13: for that moment. All right, end of game scenario, We've
- 42:43Speaker 13: got to pick up a first down to maintain possession,
- 42:46Speaker 13: so we don't give the ball back to Mahomes in
- 42:48Speaker 13: a two minute drive. He's gonna have something dialed up
- 42:51Speaker 13: for that situation. So it's really about less. You're gonna
- 42:54Speaker 13: know their coverage tendencies. You're gonna know their fronts, you're
- 42:56Speaker 13: gonna know their basic blitzes, but you're not gonna prepare
- 43:00Speaker 13: for every coverage. You're not gonna prepare for every five
- 43:02Speaker 13: man pressure, six man pressure. There's gonna be surprises. So
- 43:06Speaker 13: you've got to make sure your scheme is built that
- 43:08Speaker 13: you can handle the vast majority of anything that's unscouted,
- 43:12Speaker 13: and then you have to put a ton of time
- 43:14Speaker 13: into the gotta have it critical moments where I can't
- 43:17Speaker 13: get sacked on third and five at the twenty five
- 43:19Speaker 13: yard line and have to Now I'm in a weird
- 43:21Speaker 13: field goal situ like you can't let them. And that's
- 43:24Speaker 13: where spags and that's where Andy Reid and this Chiefs
- 43:27Speaker 13: team has made such that's where they've made their has
- 43:30Speaker 13: they win the critical plays that are weighted heavily than
- 43:33Speaker 13: just your average normal play throughout the course.
- 43:35Speaker 8: Of the game.
- 43:36Speaker 1: We're a DraftKings show. That's our that's our sponsor. You're
- 43:40Speaker 1: here with DraftKings. What's going on with DraftKings? Like, as
- 43:44Speaker 1: far as you know, they have a lot of stuff
- 43:46Speaker 1: going on, Like with you, they're doing the touchdown the
- 43:51Speaker 1: bet match, right.
- 43:51Speaker 8: Yep, the bet match.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 13: So I've gotten to work with DraftKings now for about
- 43:54Speaker 13: the last year, you know, I was. I was part
- 43:56Speaker 13: of their kind of big announcement and launch in North
- 43:58Speaker 13: Carolina where I live. When when they league Lize Sports betting,
- 44:02Speaker 13: and obviously now with the Super Bowl, this is like
- 44:04Speaker 13: their super Bowl, you know, like this is their their

- 44:23Speaker 13: you know, you're rooting for a lot of points, not
- 44:25Speaker 13: a lot of points, you're not necessarily always just rooting
- 44:27Speaker 13: for who's gonna win, but all the other fun little
- 44:30Speaker 13: angles that are going on throughout the course of the game.
- 44:32Speaker 13: So it's a it's a lot of fun. It's a

- 46:03Speaker 1: Hall of Fame twenty nineteen twenty fourth overall pick in
- 46:06Speaker 1: two thousand and two by the Ravens. Played for the Ravens.
- 46:10Speaker 1: You know, I don't remember Texans or Jets Ed Reid.
- 46:13Speaker 3: That was early, No, it was late late.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's like Wizards, Jordan Raptors, elajah Wan So
- 46:22Speaker 1: I don't remember that Arizona Ma Smith, but a lot
- 46:25Speaker 1: of Ravens. He was awesome, Super Bowl champion, NFL Defensive
- 46:28Speaker 1: Player of the Year, college Football Hall of Fame, five
- 46:31Speaker 1: times First team All Pro, NFL two thousands All Decade Team,
- 46:36Speaker 1: and a unanimous All American at the University of Miami
- 46:39Speaker 1: in two thousand and one. I mean, he's got so
- 46:41Speaker 1: many records. Most career interception return yards, longest interception return
- 46:45Speaker 1: one hundred and seven yards, like you probably think about
- 46:48Speaker 1: taking a knee and go nah, Tied for most career
- 46:52Speaker 1: postseason interceptions. Yeah, he's a dude for sure. Here he
- 46:56Speaker 1: is Ed Reid ed big fan first of all, as
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't feel like I have to say but I
- 47:02Speaker 1: and I don't say it to everybody. Uh so big fan. Secondly,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I've had like dumb injuries like I did Dance with
- 47:09Speaker 1: the Stars. I hurt my shoulder. I wake up, it hurts,
- 47:12Speaker 1: But I didn't hit people all the time. What hurts
- 47:14Speaker 1: most when you wake up in the winter or just generally.
- 47:18Speaker 8: Man, that is so funny. It's random things.
- 47:22Speaker 14: And it's funny because when you're having a conversation, when
- 47:25Speaker 14: you have it's funny because when you're having a conversation
- 47:27Speaker 14: about things that hurt, stuff start hurting.
- 47:31Speaker 1: It's like when someone it's just you, like, scratch it.
- 47:33Speaker 1: When you talk about it, things hurt.
- 47:35Speaker 14: So it's my back back at the moment. But yeah, man,
- 47:39Speaker 14: it's just certain things. Honestly, Man, it takes turns.
- 47:42Speaker 5: You know.
- 47:43Speaker 14: One minute is the ankle, you know, one minute is
- 47:46Speaker 14: the hip because I had hip surgeries, you know, and
- 47:49Speaker 14: it's always my nerve and pitchment, Like I got nerve
- 47:52Speaker 14: and pitchment that I never had surgery on, you know,
- 47:54Speaker 14: So that's always tight. You know, the neck is the
- 47:57Speaker 14: first thing to always go because it's sleep pillows and stuff.
- 48:01Speaker 14: I'm still trying to find that ultimate bed man.
- 48:04Speaker 5: You do.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Like like at our house because I've heard a lot
- 48:08Speaker 1: doing stupid stuff, we have like a red light therapy bed,
- 48:11Speaker 1: like red light therapy and it's also infrared. Right, we
- 48:14Speaker 1: lay in that like the Kardashian's got us on. We
- 48:16Speaker 1: got to get one too. You ever do stuff like that?
- 48:18Speaker 8: That was doing that in my career before all that
- 48:20Speaker 8: stuff came out.
- 48:21Speaker 1: So you're at it before it was a thing.
- 48:22Speaker 14: Yeah, I was ahead of the game, man, a bunch
- 48:24Speaker 14: of all this stuff people doing, like the ivy's and
- 48:27Speaker 14: the nutrition, Like I was way ahead of the game man.
- 48:30Speaker 8: Thank god to Ray and.
- 48:33Speaker 14: Willis McGahee, you know, and Papa's son, you know, Lauren
- 48:39Speaker 14: Hill's dad.
- 48:42Speaker 8: And Rohan Marley and now doctor Clayton Gibson.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Well, now everybody's spending my take care of their body.
- 48:48Speaker 1: But you were doing that because that was so important
- 48:49Speaker 1: back then.
- 48:50Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean it's just I mean I'm still doing now,
- 48:52Speaker 14: like right, you're investing yourself man, you know, I mean
- 48:55Speaker 14: that's the biggest thing, you know, as a coach, I
- 48:57Speaker 14: was doing it. You know, you're investing yourself, like any
- 49:00Speaker 14: good CEO knows that. Like, you're going to invest in
- 49:03Speaker 14: yourself first, you know, so sixty to one hundred thousand
- 49:07Speaker 14: dollars a year, you know that means something to me
- 49:10Speaker 14: going into my body versus going by, you know, five
- 49:14Speaker 14: thousand dollars, ten thousand dollars watching rings and something for
- 49:18Speaker 14: your some rims on your car that you don't need
- 49:20Speaker 14: just to go to work. Like that's the type of ignorance.
- 49:22Speaker 14: I was around guys that had the rims on the car.
- 49:26Speaker 14: See me with the supplements. Won't buy the supplements, but
- 49:29Speaker 14: they buy the car. I'm like, bro, you know what
- 49:31Speaker 14: I want to win?
- 49:32Speaker 8: I don't care. Come on, man, they knew I had
- 49:35Speaker 8: the goods and let me getting some of that cool.
- 49:38Speaker 8: Hey man, you know you can buy this right. I
- 49:40Speaker 8: got no money for that, you do. Like that's the
- 49:44Speaker 8: type of stuff you deal with, you know what I'm saying.
- 49:46Speaker 1: But that's say.
- 49:50Speaker 8: But yeah, man, like it was, it was so many things,
- 49:52Speaker 8: But you gotta invest in yourself.
- 49:54Speaker 7: Ed the feuds on the field, you know, it's all
- 49:57Speaker 7: part of the game, right, But how many of those
- 50:00Speaker 7: of them how many, That's what I'm question. How many
- 50:02Speaker 7: of those feuds carried on past the game and then
- 50:05Speaker 7: maybe the next time you saw them again.
- 50:07Speaker 8: Well, it won't carry on.
- 50:08Speaker 14: It never carried on past the game as much, maybe
- 50:11Speaker 14: to an interview. If I'm talking about a guy like
- 50:14Speaker 14: me and Hines had a thing. Everybody know, but it
- 50:16Speaker 14: wasn't it wasn't personal to the point where we're fighting
- 50:20Speaker 14: off the field, you know, for one of them, man
- 50:22Speaker 14: grown ass man for two. I ain't got time for that,
- 50:25Speaker 14: you know, I ain't got time. I ain't got time
- 50:26Speaker 14: for it unless I have to do what I have
- 50:28Speaker 14: to do, you know. And on the football field, of course,
- 50:30Speaker 14: you you know, you pissed off the hot pesstivity when gods.
- 50:34Speaker 8: Are doing certain things, yeah, you know.
- 50:36Speaker 14: And then you know, I could get into a fight,
- 50:39Speaker 14: But why get into a fight When I got weapons
- 50:41Speaker 14: on me. I could just hit you really hard, you know,
- 50:44Speaker 14: within the game, and and and you know, and I
- 50:49Speaker 14: just I got knew that, like I knew I was
- 50:52Speaker 14: wearing weapons, you know, Like I knew I could literally
- 50:56Speaker 14: go at him and do what he was doing to him,
- 50:59Speaker 14: and he could feel it. But I didn't want to
- 51:01Speaker 14: play the game like that. I could not bring myself
- 51:04Speaker 14: to play the game that way, you know. It just
- 51:07Speaker 14: it just wasn't in me to play the game, you know,
- 51:11Speaker 14: with the ill will and try to hurt somebody on
- 51:13Speaker 14: the other side the field, you know. And I just
- 51:16Speaker 14: couldn't do that, man, you know so, but I knew
- 51:19Speaker 14: it would catch up with him and it did.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Compare the competitive energy of playing and coaching.
- 51:26Speaker 14: That's a tough one, boy, because you want you want
- 51:29Speaker 14: your guys to perform, and that you're on that edge
- 51:32Speaker 14: of like how you used to do it, And I
- 51:35Speaker 14: tell myself to tell guys.
- 51:36Speaker 8: For a long time, and you can't gotta do that.
- 51:37Speaker 8: You gotta pull back, you know. So it's it's a
- 51:40Speaker 8: little different man.
- 51:41Speaker 5: You know.
- 51:42Speaker 14: Playing obviously, you're putting that work in and you have
- 51:45Speaker 14: more on the line because you're on that field, you're
- 51:47Speaker 14: in between those lines. The focus is totally different. Coaching.
- 51:53Speaker 8: You just you gotta put the put people in the place.
- 51:57Speaker 14: To be successful and root for him and encourage you
- 52:00Speaker 14: and beat that positive mindset that they need when they
- 52:04Speaker 14: go through something. It's like therapy, you know, you that
- 52:07Speaker 14: therapist as a coach. As a player, you're sitting on
- 52:10Speaker 14: the couch. You know, you're that guy on the couch
- 52:13Speaker 14: and kind of need that calmness and stillness you as
- 52:16Speaker 14: you go. Excuse me, everybody, don't use that. You know,
- 52:20Speaker 14: some people just want the music and loud stuff going on.
- 52:24Speaker 14: But you know, it's a difference between good and great.
- 52:27Speaker 1: My final question, what's your favorite thing that you kept,
- 52:30Speaker 1: like your own memorabil yet that you have from your career?
- 52:34Speaker 8: Man, special thing? That's that's funny that I got a
- 52:38Speaker 8: lot of stuff, dude.
- 52:40Speaker 1: You get to keep one that like it's me God,
- 52:42Speaker 1: I'm going to allow you to keep on taking everything
- 52:45Speaker 1: else if you say you can take.
- 52:50Speaker 8: Oh man, I take my helmet. I take my helmet.
- 52:56Speaker 8: I got my helmet. I have a super Bowl helmet.
- 52:58Speaker 1: The super Bowl helmet.
- 53:00Speaker 11: After that, No, I took it.
- 53:03Speaker 8: I took the You see how they got this here
- 53:06Speaker 8: hanging up this banner? Yeah, we win out take that banner.
- 53:09Speaker 8: If I'm Patrick Mahone, it's like I hate that in
- 53:11Speaker 8: my houspital here.
- 53:12Speaker 1: If you were him, you would make that up. What
- 53:14Speaker 1: are you doing direct?
- 53:15Speaker 8: You have a Ravens banner?
- 53:16Speaker 1: You do have the banner.
- 53:17Speaker 8: I took the super Bowl banner out of the locker room.
- 53:20Speaker 3: But you took it down.
- 53:21Speaker 1: How did you get it down?
- 53:22Speaker 14: I was the last personal leave the locker, Me and Hawball,
- 53:25Speaker 14: the last two people on the bus, him and it,
- 53:28Speaker 14: he and his daughter and myself with the last two
- 53:31Speaker 14: people to leave the stadium as a Ravens And I'm
- 53:36Speaker 14: in the state. I'm getting dressed because it's all kinds
- 53:38Speaker 14: of stuff. I'm getting dressed, and I look up, like,
- 53:41Speaker 14: you know, just gonna do this, Just man, give me
- 53:44Speaker 14: that banner folded up. It's in my garage.
- 53:48Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 53:49Speaker 8: Guys pull up to my house be like when they working,
- 53:51Speaker 8: We're like, oh, yeah, I get it.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Look at.
- 53:55Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 53:56Speaker 1: Direct TV?
- 53:57Speaker 3: Oh?
- 53:58Speaker 5: Man?
- 53:59Speaker 14: Direct TV? He has a my Sports package. We had
- 54:01Speaker 14: the my Sports package on direct tv dot com. It's
- 54:05Speaker 14: all across the nations on NFL Network, Fox, ESPN, you know,
- 54:09Speaker 14: and that's where you want to go get your sports.
- 54:11Speaker 14: So everybody's everywhere for everybody, MySports dot com, direct TV,
- 54:16Speaker 14: and like I've been saying, Man, for kids who are training,
- 54:19Speaker 14: go watch it.
- 54:20Speaker 8: Direct TV is where you can watch it, man, you know,
- 54:22Speaker 8: go watch it emulator. That's what we did.
- 54:24Speaker 1: We appreciate you, big fan brother, doing crazy stuff around
- 54:28Speaker 1: the house. We're gonna drive out. We'll know where he
- 54:30Speaker 1: lives because the banners hanging out. And finally, you know,
- 54:35Speaker 1: I just watched The Royal Rumble talked about that a
- 54:37Speaker 1: lot in the last episode. Yes, you did, big wrestling guy,
- 54:40Speaker 1: you know.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Wait, so how excited were you when you found out
- 54:44Speaker 3: we're going to get this guy?
- 54:45Speaker 1: Well, I've been following Seth Rollins for the last couple
- 54:49Speaker 1: of years. He wasn't in my generation when I was
- 54:51Speaker 1: really watching, but he has been uh very much so well,
- 54:57Speaker 1: he was in the Royal Rumbo. He's in the last
- 54:59Speaker 1: like six or seven. But him and seaham Punk hate
- 55:01Speaker 1: each other and so that's been all over tik talk,
- 55:04Speaker 1: and so let's.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Talk to him.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Seth freaking Rollins. He beat brock Lesner twice. He's the
- 55:12Speaker 1: only human ever to hold the ww Championship and the
- 55:15Speaker 1: United States Championship simultaneously. That's until I get it. And
- 55:20Speaker 1: he had on some really cool that I couldn't pull
- 55:23Speaker 1: off glasses.
- 55:23Speaker 11: What were they?
- 55:24Speaker 3: Gucci?
- 55:24Speaker 1: I don't know where they were, Big Prada. Maybe I'm
- 55:26Speaker 1: not even sure it was him. They were so big
- 55:27Speaker 1: it could have been anybody behind those glasses. Follow set
- 55:31Speaker 1: on Twitter at WWE Rollins here he is superstar Seth Rollins.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Seth's a lot of questions for you.
- 55:39Speaker 8: Great.
- 55:40Speaker 1: First of all, you grew up in Iowa.
- 55:41Speaker 15: That's right, Davenport, Iowa born and raised.
- 55:43Speaker 1: So done a bunch of stand up through Iowa. And
- 55:47Speaker 1: I go to the town where they make the crunchberries.
- 55:49Speaker 15: Where do they make the crunch berries?
- 55:50Speaker 1: They have a whole crunchberry factory in Iowa. I thought
- 55:52Speaker 1: you would tell me. Really, it's a captain crunch it's
- 55:54Speaker 1: either Iowa City.
- 55:55Speaker 15: Or it is Cedar Rafts.
- 55:57Speaker 1: That's it, Cedar raft the whole town. So I was like,
- 55:59Speaker 1: crunch it's the greatest, the smell of.
- 56:01Speaker 16: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, that is right, yes, cedar rapids.
- 56:03Speaker 16: I didn't know they made crunchberries there. I knew there
- 56:05Speaker 16: was like a factory of whatever.
- 56:08Speaker 1: You gotta go back. It's Crunchberry's central.
- 56:10Speaker 15: Oh that's amazing.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Like where's home now?
- 56:11Speaker 5: Then?
- 56:12Speaker 1: But what state does it?
- 56:13Speaker 5: So?
- 56:14Speaker 16: Still Iowa still got a place in Iowa, but La
- 56:17Speaker 16: as well, Los Angeles.
- 56:18Speaker 1: You don't smell like crunchberries in La.
- 56:19Speaker 17: No, it smells like ashes. Yes, yeah, you're right, it's
- 56:22Speaker 17: like a fire pit. Unfortunately, I watched the rumble. Did
- 56:27Speaker 17: you enjoy all five Here's the two things I liked. One,
- 56:31Speaker 17: I don't have to pay for it right like I
- 56:33Speaker 17: just had Peacock, he got Boom Pop it on go
- 56:35Speaker 17: in between Peacock and Netflix.
- 56:36Speaker 1: It's opening it up to people who maybe didn't feel
- 56:40Speaker 1: like either they wanted to try to find it or
- 56:43Speaker 1: pay for you know, a preferred a pay per view.
- 56:47Speaker 16: Yeah yeah, yeah, and drop fifty bucks for a pay
- 56:48Speaker 16: per view or eighty now I guess.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so it is all five hours of it. Thought
- 56:53Speaker 1: it was fantastic. What I came out thinking was and
- 56:56Speaker 1: I have a bunch of friends that played pro ball.
- 56:58Speaker 1: They hurt after every game? Yes, sir, aside from what
- 57:03Speaker 1: we're seeing after basically every match, is it? I send
- 57:08Speaker 1: it up cold? Are you hurt? Not injured? But are
- 57:11Speaker 1: you hurt after every match?
- 57:13Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 57:13Speaker 16: Falling down is not fun. Falling down is painful. And
- 57:16Speaker 16: the older I get, the longer I do it, you
- 57:19Speaker 16: don't get used to it. There is probably a period
- 57:21Speaker 16: in my late twenties where I could wrestle every single
- 57:25Speaker 16: night and I would be like brand new the next day.
- 57:28Speaker 16: That those days have come and gone. Now after every match,
- 57:32Speaker 16: it takes me longer to get out of my gear.
- 57:34Speaker 16: I have to ice things. I have to take a
- 57:37Speaker 16: nice hot shower and make sure that I hit all
- 57:39Speaker 16: the good spots so that I can lay down in
- 57:41Speaker 16: bed comfortably.
- 57:43Speaker 11: It is, yeah, it is.
- 57:44Speaker 15: It is very difficult to to move once you've stiffened
- 57:48Speaker 15: up after a little while.
- 57:50Speaker 1: And is there like an injury report like in football,
- 57:53Speaker 1: Like do you have to go to them and be like,
- 57:54Speaker 1: I've kind of busted up my elbow, especially maybe early?
- 57:57Speaker 1: You don't even want them to know you're injured, because
- 57:59Speaker 1: so where does that process turned from. I don't really
- 58:01Speaker 1: want them to know because I want to keep working too.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I need to let them know because I am now valuable.
- 58:07Speaker 16: So I think as our medical system has developed over
- 58:11Speaker 16: the years, there was always like a stigma about saying
- 58:15Speaker 16: you were hurt. You know, you had to be a
- 58:16Speaker 16: tough guy in wrestling, right, you just tough it out
- 58:19Speaker 16: whatever it was. It's a little bit different these days.
- 58:22Speaker 16: I think the culture has changed to the point where
- 58:25Speaker 16: we've learned that medical is there to help us to
- 58:28Speaker 16: work with us, so they're not trying to.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Like, you know, if you have a bruised elbow.
- 58:33Speaker 16: They're not gonna be like, okay, ghost, you got to
- 58:35Speaker 16: sit out, But they're saying, let's take a look at it.
- 58:38Speaker 16: Let's let's make sure that it's not an injury, that
- 58:40Speaker 16: it is just something that we can work through. And
- 58:43Speaker 16: and for me, you know, I've been with WW for
- 58:45Speaker 16: old twelve years something like that now maybe a little longer,
- 58:49Speaker 16: and you know, there's an equity there, a relationship that
- 58:52Speaker 16: I built up with our medical team, so they understand
- 58:54Speaker 16: my body, they understand my complaints, they understand what you know. Okay,
- 58:57Speaker 16: if it's your neck, let's look at at it. If
- 59:00Speaker 16: it's you know, your your hips or something, okay, well
- 59:02Speaker 16: we can work through that. They know where I'm at.
- 59:05Speaker 16: So it's just a matter of trusting the team that
- 59:07Speaker 16: you've got in place and understanding your body. They understand
- 59:11Speaker 16: your physical you know, health and where it's supposed to be,
- 59:13Speaker 16: what your homeostasis is, and then you just got to
- 59:16Speaker 16: go from there. But yeah, it's it's trust, man, And
- 59:18Speaker 16: we're at a good place I think with where we're
- 59:20Speaker 16: at and what we've learned over the years.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Final two questions. We've been on the road, we've been
- 59:25Speaker 1: doing a couple of shows before we came to the
- 59:26Speaker 1: super Bowl, and so we find gyms. Yeah, we have
- 59:29Speaker 1: to we play like a twenty dollars day pass to
- 59:30Speaker 1: go yes, some What is that process for you? Is
- 59:35Speaker 1: it pretty much lined up? Or sometimes you have to
- 59:36Speaker 1: go on like a scavenger hunt somewhere just to get
- 59:38Speaker 1: a workout of it.
- 59:39Speaker 16: Now I'm always scavenger man, but I've been traveling for
- 59:41Speaker 16: so long that I've got like these gyms built into
- 59:43Speaker 16: my rolodecks. I am the avid crossfitter for years, and
- 59:47Speaker 16: so CrossFit gyms are cool because you just meet the owner,
- 59:50Speaker 16: you know what I mean. They're not like box gyms,
- 59:52Speaker 16: where like you just have to pay a day pass
- 59:54Speaker 16: and find like a Planet Fitness or a you know what,
- 59:56Speaker 16: Crunch Fitness or whatever.
- 59:58Speaker 15: CrossFit gyms, you meet the owner, you.
- 1:00:00Speaker 16: The relationship, and then every time you go back into town,
- 1:00:02Speaker 16: you just say, hey, man, like coming through, got a
- 1:00:04Speaker 16: show mind if I come in and get a little
- 1:00:06Speaker 16: pump on or you know, get a sweat in or
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: whatever it is. And they're they're very cool about opening
- 1:00:10Speaker 16: their doors.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: All right, Final question for you, whenever you started to
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: be somebody known in pop culture, more so than a
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: wrestler early on, because you've you've definitely hit that phase
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: of people know you now that just aren't die hard wrestling. Yes, yeah,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: do you start to have other folks that maybe I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: don't know, weren't your friend to high school, and all
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: of a sudden they're like, hey, remember me, Can I
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: get some tickets? Like what part of your career did
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: that happen where it's like, hey, we were buds back
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: in I can I come to the show?
- 1:00:39Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I mean that started.
- 1:00:40Speaker 15: You know, it didn't happen all at once.
- 1:00:41Speaker 16: It's like a kind of progressive thing that's happened over
- 1:00:44Speaker 16: over the course of the last twelve years.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:00:46Speaker 16: You get people little by little who start to ask questions,
- 1:00:50Speaker 16: and I'm pretty cool with it, like, you know, if
- 1:00:53Speaker 16: I can help somebody out, I will. But sometimes it
- 1:00:56Speaker 16: gets a little crazy, you know, like you start asking
- 1:00:58Speaker 16: for me to send stuff to your you know, your
- 1:01:01Speaker 16: friends kids or something like that. I'm like, bro, we
- 1:01:03Speaker 16: had like two conversations back in two thousand and two,
- 1:01:08Speaker 16: like I know your name and picture kind of because
- 1:01:10Speaker 16: you look exactly like you did when you graduated, But
- 1:01:13Speaker 16: come on, like, pump the brakes.
- 1:01:15Speaker 15: A little bit be realistic.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Elimination Chamber is exciting.
- 1:01:18Speaker 16: I'm pump, that's gonna be big. I hope I can
- 1:01:20Speaker 16: get myself in there. I still got to qualify for it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 16: I'm not even in the chamber yet. Punk's in the chamber.
- 1:01:25Speaker 16: Scene as in the chamber, yeah scene, you just said
- 1:01:27Speaker 16: I'm in, and the press conference is like, I'm in.
- 1:01:29Speaker 15: I'm just doing it.
- 1:01:30Speaker 16: Yeah, He's like, I'm not qualifying, I'm John Cena, and
- 1:01:32Speaker 16: I go, Okay, I guess that makes sense, you know.
- 1:01:35Speaker 16: Uh so I still got to qualify. I still got
- 1:01:37Speaker 16: a match coming up in a couple weeks against Finn Balor.
- 1:01:39Speaker 16: I gotta win and get in, and I gotta win
- 1:01:41Speaker 16: that match. But it is exciting. Where at skydomee which
- 1:01:43Speaker 16: is just dope skidnes Yeah yeah, Rogers Center, I think
- 1:01:47Speaker 16: it's what it's called.
- 1:01:48Speaker 15: Tickets on sale now, but that's gonna be a good time.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:01:50Speaker 15: That's gonna be John Cena's last elimination Champer Martin Luisers.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Draw Elimination Chamber of March first, Rogers Center and Toronto.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Tickets available. It's Ticketmaster dot CA. That's Canada, Yes, that
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: is Canada.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, not California.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Y yeah, really a big fan. Really appreciate it. Thank you,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: thanks for stopping by, and we'll be looking you're you're in,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Bobby said, I just declared it. He's a press conference.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I just declared it, and this press coment I have
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: the player to your Thanks for.
- 1:02:16Speaker 15: The appreciate you man, Thank you guys.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: You ran into old riverboat Ron Riberta.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: He was sitting there waiting to go on some show
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: or whatever in one of those little stages by ours.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: He didn't do that, do you remember me?
- 1:02:27Speaker 14: No?
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: I didn't, but I did look, and I'm like, should
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: I go up to him and say? Because he was
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: all by himself, just sitting there, no one around him,
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: no handlers. So I just said, you know what, we're
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: gonna work walking away, so why don't I just just
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: stop by and just say hi real quick and introduce myself.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: So I did.
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: I said, hey, coach, I'm Eddie, you know from the
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: Bobby Bones Show and we, uh, we talked to you
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: in zoom when he's like.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, no chance you remember.
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: For the record, I don't think he remember, but he did,
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah. And then so he
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: he just said, what's the how's it going you guys
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: here or whatever? And uh, yeah, we're going to the
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: super Bowl. And he looks at my arms, like what
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: you do to your arm? And I told him I
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: was h roller skating with the kids, and he goes, oh,
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: you're doing something like a roller hockey. It's like, no, coach,
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: I was at the roller skating drink and I fell
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: and I broke my arm raising your six year old
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: racing my kid, and he laughed. And then I told
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: him congratulations on his new job because he just got
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: that job with cal and uh, did you get at
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: at University of California.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Yeah, he's like a football assistant coach.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, got it, got it, got it?
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: And he had his cow polo on. He just like
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: got announced yesterday a couple of days ago, and he
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: already rocking the cow gear.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Just missed it. I was too busy rocking people's faces
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: office doing these shows on the roads.
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: Honestly, I wouldn't have known unless Vin Kevin tell me.
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: But anyway, decided to say hi, and I'm glad I did.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: It was cool. Every time we've met him, well, we
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: met him in Pebble beach and he was super nice,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: so nice. And now on the show he was super nice.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: And you're right he probably had no idea.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: No, probably he had no idea. He had no idea
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: who I was. But he acted like we've known each
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: other for years.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: It was awesome.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: That's pretty cool. We do need to go over Kevin
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Scavenger Hunt because that's been a couple hours. So the
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: three things were one, get a video promoting twenty five
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: whistles from.
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: A player that's well known, yeah or ex player, just yeah,
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: somebody there.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Two was get something signed a ball and.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: He signed by somebody that is known.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: And then three is get us an interview that we
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: know who it is whenever they walk up and we
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: see them, which that's pretty vague.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: But the rule was, though, if you and I knew
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: who this person was, accounted correct, like when they walked out.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yes, okay, so let's go first the video the video.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: Okay, So who do you have want me to show
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: you the video or tell you?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Well, just play it on the microphone. Oh okay, I
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: turn the ballume played on the microphone. Okay, okay, ok
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: see who we can guess who'll find it.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Took a lot of video.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: He does say like, hey, I'm so inside.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, yeah you're ready, yep.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: With Andrew Whitworth.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: Quinn so advanced Andrew Whitworth.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Listen to twenty five whistles wherever you're at.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: There you go, you heard it? What do we think?
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: We've had him on the show. We've had him one
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: had him on the show.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: You know what.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I know who it is.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: I'll give that one a pass.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I mean he's on TV. Yeah, we passed.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: He sounds really passionate though. He's like, yeah, that counts
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: check one.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Good job, Kevin, Thanks Mike.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Would you give it that one a check?
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: Kevin?
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: How how did you get it?
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: He was just walking by. I was like, hey, man, Andrew,
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: what's up?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Do a big way?
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Doing it a little bit? But I was like, hey,
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: you know, I'm Bobby Bones. You we've been on our
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: show before. Yeah, yeah, you wouldn't know.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Everyone knows the difference.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: And and I just told him, sir up. I was like,
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: I'm trying to get a super Bowl ticket. Man, I'm
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: on a scavenger hunt right now. Would you just do
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: this quick video for men?
- 1:05:45Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: If you know that?
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: He thought for a second, you were gonna ask him
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: for a super Bowl ticket?
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Probably probably, Okay, so check one of three. All right, okay,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: so do you I don't see a ball with you?
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: Oh, I got it, don't worry.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Okay, Oh you got a ball.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: So he's reaching down under the desk.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: I wonder where he got the ball from.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: It is a green Oh, it's a football. It's a
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: green super Bowl football.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: Can I tell you the story how we got it?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yes? Don't say who it is. I'm not well, we
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: recognize the autograph by looking at it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Oh, we will.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Okay, is it Andrew Whitworth.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: No, it is not Andrew Whitworth.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: No.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: So I mean I went on a hunt for this football.
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: No.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: I was asking around. People had the mess props. I
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: was like, hey, can I can I take that football?
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: Can of bite off of you? Everybody say no? And
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: they had some boost set up where it was Bounty
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: the company Bounty Yeah, throw in. They had like people
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: throwing stuff through a circle football and they had a
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: bunch of footballs. I was like, hey, guys, just got
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: any extra ones. They're like no. And then I told him, man,
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: if I get this and I'm going to the Super Bowl,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: and they're like, oh, oh yeah, we got you. And
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: they ran into the back and they got me a
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: football and that's what we got, a little like foam.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Football pushy yeah, and it is autographed by someone. It
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: is autographed and tell us a story about without telling
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: us who it is, Like, how did you go to
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: the person to get the autograph?
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: I was just walking and they were walking towards me,
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: and I was like, hey, what's up man. I was
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: like kind of the same thing with Andrew. I was like, yo,
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: you know, I work for Bob Bones, like you know
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: who he is all about. And he's like, oh yeah yeah.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, well, hey, super Bowl
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: ticket on the line? Will you sign this? Matt, I
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: got a super Bowl ticket on the line, He's like
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: And then he signed it and he's like, where's Bobby. Yeah,
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: and he went over to say what's up, but you're
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: already doing the podcast. He's like, I'll come back later.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: He never came back, though, Do I okay?
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I like the game? Do I know him?
- 1:07:26Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:07:27Speaker 16: You know?
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I feel like day if you know it, don't I don't.
- 1:07:33Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: I don't know it. I have a guess.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Do I know him?
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Or do I fake no, no, you know, oh you know?
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: No?
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: So okay, So is it an athlete it doesn't happen? Yeah, okay, yeah, okay,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: what I know?
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: I don't.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: Can I give you a hint.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: We're gonna walk to this for a second. Not yet,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: not yet yet.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Is it a quarterback? No, okay, it's not who I
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: say so, but it.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Is a football player former? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yah
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: yeah yeah. So it wasn't you do not like Chuck
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Nobela walking around? No, okay, nobody even getting coach the
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: baseball player for like the Twins nineties.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Definitely not.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Okay, So if I know him, he would have had
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: to have been either a razorback Quinn growing or a
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: someone that lives in Nashville.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: Not anymore?
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: Not anymore?
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Do you know who is Mike?
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: I mean, you've said you've met Eddie George, but you
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: don't know him.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Don't I know him? He doesn't know me? Big difference, right, right?
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: That was like George you know exactly.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: He did at one point live in Nashville though.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Okay, So was he a Titan at one time? Yes,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Kevin Klute's brother, good point. Okay, so Tennessee Titan. Who
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: would have been there, Okay. Was he working as an
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: analyst type person like hosting something or was he there
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: as a player being interviewed?
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: He was making his rene being interviewed. Yeah, he doesn't
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: have his own show or anything.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: But so it must have been a player for the
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Titans offensive defense defense.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Now, don't say, oh, do you share the first name?
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: No?
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Why did you have to think Kevin? I know he's like,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I don't let me think about that.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: But what's when they were good?
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Kevin Baird?
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Okay, so on the defensive line, it wouldn't be anybody
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: because I don't know Jeffrey Simmons defensive back. One time,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: like one time I went through Courtland Courtland, Courtland Sutton's house,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Courtland Finnigan. Thank you. I'm thinking of the receiver again next.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: Yes, course.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: I don't think you guys are going to be very
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: upset that you're not getting this read.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: Do you know what?
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Did you see it? Though? I am I gonna feel stupid, man,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: I have no clue he played for the Titans, and
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I don't know we know him. I don't think I
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: know a Titans player.
- 1:10:06Speaker 10: One more hint, Yeah, yes, he's been in our studio before. Okay, okay,
- 1:10:16Speaker 10: uh the old studio.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Is he a safety?
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:10:21Speaker 11: Who do we have in there?
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: Gosh?
- 1:10:24Speaker 11: What's his name?
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: When you're ready for one more hint?
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Let me know what is his first name? Start with
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: just a letter?
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: What's his first last name?
- 1:10:31Speaker 13: Ryan?
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: With it starts with first name, starts with L.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Not Logan Ryan?
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: Is it?
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:10:38Speaker 11: Logan was there.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: He came up and say what up?
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Yeah he did, he tried to. But you guys are
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: doing the podcast.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Played for the Titans.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's where he picked off Tom Brady's last ball
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: a Patriot?
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Wow, wow, wow?
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I don't I think if I'm as a Patriot only
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: yeah he was. Okay, okay, we got a Logan Ryan
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: signed balls two time ship ball camp too.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Okay, now you have two balls him.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I'm not somebody else. Oh man, I'm sad I missed him.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, he really wanted to say, what's up
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: to you?
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I think if it was a Patriot?
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: Oh that's fair, I mean yeah, that's fair. Wow.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: But okay.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: And then the final one was get an interview with
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: someone that's there. When they walk up, we know who
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: they are, and we actually have the interview. We do
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: and what do you want to say? First, Because we
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: haven't talked about.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: This, I will say that as soon as the person
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: walked up, I knew who it was. I knew who
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: It wasn't obvious, but I looked at his face a
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: little bit. He was huge, so obviously he was like
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: alignment of some sort.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: And then I realized who it was. The closer you got,
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: I had no idea who it was.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: No way, are you serious?
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: No way listen to me ask him questions.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: I thought you were just going along with it because
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: you didn't want to say anythingboy his name.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Or I was like you were you were doing vague questions?
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: Dude, I did never it was.
- 1:12:00Speaker 11: Oh no, I think later I.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Put it together. Was he a steeler?
- 1:12:06Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: He is a steeler defensive lineman, right, yeah? Yeah, I
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: mean he's an animal.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: Is it.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: I wasn't even worried about you. I was worried about Eddie.
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: Is it?
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: Cam?
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: You're going come on?
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: I mean if he if he doesn't get the name Kevin,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: I don't know when Cam Cam, No, I want to
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: name everybody Sutton for some reason. Cam, It's like Cam Cam,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: I should just know this as a football fan. I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: thought he might have been a wrestler too. I'll be
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: honest with you.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I mean, he's that big.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: He's a monster.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Cam.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Also, I'm having a little brain follow I mean, Kevin
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: if he doesn't get this.
- 1:12:53Speaker 8: But I didn't.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: You didn't know who it was.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: I didn't know who was I knew it was a
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: player of some sort, Cam Chin, Cam Chance, I don't
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: know what's the name.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: You're close Heyward?
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Cam? Oh yeah, I know.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know who it was.
- 1:13:15Speaker 11: Now do we go back?
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Does he still have a chance though he has? We
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: have tomorrow. We'll be there tomorrow.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: The ball counts.
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: The ball does count. What do you think about the You.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Know that Andrew Wiworth counts, even though Andrew was forced
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: into submission and he's been on the show before.
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Logan's strategy Tomorrow he gets.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Ron to come by.
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: Dang.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know who that was. Dang.
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Also, I'm very tired.
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: Meaning that was at the very very end.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Let's play the interview. So this is I'm assuming defensive tackle. Okay,
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: here we go, Cam Hayward. Uh, this is but by
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: the way, he's a monster, and this is no way
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: disrespect but football players. They wear helmets all the time,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: so it's hard to see their freaking faces. That's a
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: good point, especially a defensive lineman. It's not like he's
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: doing pert plus commercials. Okay, here's the interview, So I
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: got this feels like super For someone who is as
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: well known as you are, it's got to be like
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: stimulus overload. It's one hundred different in it, right, I use,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: it's just holy crap.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: One thing to the Yeah, I am a little beat
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: going off of Pro Bowl and Super Bowl. This is yeah.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Do you feel like you told the same story eight
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: times and you don't even? Because if I do, like
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: a press tour for like a TV show, and I'm
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: like bouncing to all the channels, I don't even. Sometimes
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I told the same story in the same story, because
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: I don't know if I've told the same story.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: I don't get a lot of the same questions. Everybody's
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: been pretty fresh and come up with their own questions.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Oh that's good, dad, So you know it keeps me
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: moving physically. How you feeling feeling good?
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: Feeling good? I was pretty sick the last couple of
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: weeks of the season, so finally bounce it.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Back what's the key. I'm not you, and I know
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: we're built the same. I know you look at me
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: and you think we're built the same. I'm gonna I'm
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: gonna give you one. I'm gonna give you one athletic
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: story and now, but give me your version of it.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: I did a show, a little dance dancing with the stars,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: and I hurt my shoulder real bad, end up winning it.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: I'm champion, don't worry, Yeah, massive champion about that line.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: But I had to get shot every week. I got
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: shot out, oh every week, sorry to hear that. Yeah,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: because I had to stay in the game. Yeah, Like,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: what what is that constant nagging injury for you that
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: you can't you have to take care of all the time?
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Nothing?
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: Right now? Last year, uh, dealing with I tore my
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: groin at the beginning of the year the first game.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: I came back week seven or eight, and I was
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: already running with one leg, so my mechanics were messed up.
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: It was just all over the place.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Is there ever a time we look across the line
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: and go like, hey, let's just both keept playing pick up?
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Sometimes to be like, hey, will you not run as much?
- 1:15:54Speaker 11: Guy?
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Guard me? I'm like, let's just chill for a second. No,
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: it doesn't really.
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: Work that way.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know if it did.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: Everybody's pretty much like I'm either gonna kill you or
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: you're gonna kill me.
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I don't like that. That's why I don't play. That
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: is exactly the reason why I'm not in right now.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we really appreciate you stopping by. Yeah you're massive,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: that's awesome.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: When did you realize you were like bigger than everyone?
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:16:17Speaker 11: Yeah, probably where I was born.
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: I've always been pretty big.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Came out that size.
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: Bro, you know, I equate myself. Have you ever seen
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: the movie Jack with Robin Williams? Yes, I was like
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: that growing up.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Thank you, stay healthy, you got some time. Appreciate that,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and hey, thanks for coming by.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: Seriously, that was awesome, Thank you for having me.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Okay, there it was. I was being very vague because
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I did not know.
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: Who it was.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: I didn't realize I didn't think I thought you knew
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: who it was. No, because if I knew it was,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: I'd have been like, hey, caim awards.
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: Here, Hey how I thought you didn't want to give.
- 1:16:49Speaker 8: It up for Eddie?
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: No?
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: No, no, I knew.
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: I knew his face as soon as he was walking out,
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: and I was still trying to piece it together. Then
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: as the interview happened, I knew who we were talking to, but.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: It wasn't figured out during the interview. It was when
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: they walk up. You have to know who they are.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough. That's tough. He's pretty vague. Even though
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: he's a great player.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: It's a position that isn't seen.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Right, you're right, so I think you could have done better.
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: Well, yeah, but we're run out of time.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: We have we have another day tomorrow.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: Oh okay, what's up?
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: But the problem is we're not gonna have an update
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: tomorrow on the podcast.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: We can throw one up, can we throw up a little?
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: We can? We can try it.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: We can maybe or we can put it on yeah
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Bobby on Sport. Okay, So as of right now, you
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: got two out of three. Okay, do you feel okay
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: about that?
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you're one step closer.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: Okay, they're two steps close. So I just have to
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: get one person tomorrow to come on that. You guys
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: know right away?
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Yes? Oh, like we should know right away, guys, when
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: they're walking.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Up, we should be excited that we've never had them
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: on our show. That should also be a rule now
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: because that's we're seeing the people he got. They were
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: all on our show. Hey, this is lunch box. He
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: flies the man.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: Hey, there's no rules.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: So I'm going to do it.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Okay, like like Joe Montana do that'd be cool?
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, alright cool, Okay, So going down.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: I didn't see Joe Burrow walking around.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I never saw Joe Burrow. I just right next week
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: to keep going, Hey, you know who's over there?
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: Who?
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: Joey?
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: What do you call Joe bizil Oh Joe.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Okay, So we're gonna end today's episode. Kevin is one
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: step away from getting a super Bowl ticket and maybe
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: they were even cheaper tomorrow.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: That'd be nice. Yeah, the closer we get the two
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: where they.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Get But do you feel a little better today than
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: you did yesterday?
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: Okay, yes, that was I mean yeah, I'm trying to
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: scale him on, like the hardest thing to get. I
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: mean football was the hardest thing.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was kind of that. That was
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: kind of the cheapest, the sellout one, right, Like he
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: goes to a friend who I text with a lot
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: and it's like, hey, sign Logan Ry.
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: You want to have somebody else sign tomorrow.
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: You know why we didn't guess Logan Ryan because we
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: thought that was way too easy.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: We thought that's like Eddie signing.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: I told you he was a friend.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but oh, do you want to add another suit?
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: I can add somebody tomorrow if you want.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Yeah, add another signature. Okay, but we can never have
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: met them, and they need to be they need to
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: be famous. Okay, okay, so you're one and a half
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: checks in. Okay, all right, that's it.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: Good job man, Hey, you got it up.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: He got us as Andrew please listen to Is that
