- 0:11The thing is though, now that you say that, I can't see it.
- 0:13You're absolutely right. After we're claiming, let's
- 0:15let's talk about that first. Because I was going to go in a
- 0:17totally. Different direction.
- 0:19You can make as much money as you need and work your way
- 0:22towards any ship in the game. They they were trying to cash in
- 0:26off of that nostalgia and that height.
- 0:34That is some old nostalgic music because it's been so long since
- 0:40we've been on air. Welcome to Open Comms Radio,
- 0:44your Star Citizen call in show. I'm Jar Jar and I have a very
- 0:49special guest this evening. My usual Co host Tav couldn't
- 0:53make it. He may not be back for a few
- 0:56weeks here, but in his place this week, Cosmic Hobo.
- 1:02Howdy. Howdy dude, Co host and open
- 1:05Comms Radio. How you been doing this week?
- 1:08How you been doing in Star Citizen?
- 1:10Oh boy that's that's a loaded question for a number of reasons
- 1:14and well we'll stick in the stars this and even that's a
- 1:16tough one. I I couldn't log on for the past
- 1:20three days like to live that is for whatever reason PTU is fine.
- 1:25I got on I played through the new Onyx facility with with
- 1:31broccoli Rob and Murphy Jack. We ran through those.
- 1:34It's it's amazing and I'm so glad they didn't just spoil it.
- 1:39See, I do didn't just spoil it during the days inside star
- 1:43season. It's worth doing either on your
- 1:46own or just in a duo or a small squad.
- 1:50It's it's very entertaining. It's the level design is
- 1:56amazing. Where we had comparisons to and
- 1:59I know this is probably a little overstated, but just the
- 2:04themeology is similar to Half Life.
- 2:07The the style, the themes, the appearance and it's a quality
- 2:14like a lot. They were clearly playing either
- 2:17Half Life. I've heard Tarkov suggested as
- 2:20well. Apparently there is a lab level
- 2:23in Tarkov. I, I, I never played Tarkov so I
- 2:26can't really, I don't know. But abiotic factor, which is
- 2:33kind of very much half life inspired, like they wear that
- 2:37very much on their sleeve. Maybe some?
- 2:39What was that abiotic? Abiotic factor.
- 2:43Abiotic factor? What is that?
- 2:45What do you mean? It's.
- 2:48Is that game you're referencing? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:50It's, it's how to there's it's a survival game base building, but
- 2:56it takes place inside of the scientific facility that's kind
- 2:59of collapsing and experiencing A catastrophe, like multiple
- 3:07catastrophe. And part of the part of the game
- 3:10is kind of figuring out what those catastrophes are with a
- 3:12side of base building and survival.
- 3:15So it takes a lot of the linear but open world it it's linear in
- 3:22the sense that you're stuck within this giant lab facility,
- 3:27but it's still open world in that there's a hub area that you
- 3:30can go to different wings to find out other pieces of the
- 3:34mystery. And this new Onyx facility,
- 3:38without spoiling too much, is similar in that aspect.
- 3:42There's there's no base building yet.
- 3:43That's we're not we're not going to see that in Star says in for
- 3:48a while. I think we'll possibly see a
- 3:53super buggy, super stripped down limited version of base building
- 3:56by end of the year. But this is the Onyx facilities
- 3:59are a whole new thing for Star Citizen.
- 4:03And honestly, if this is the kind of level design and
- 4:09storytelling we're going to see in Squadron 42, I have re.
- 4:14It has rekindled my hope for Squadron 42.
- 4:19OK, OK, that's good. That's, that's actually good
- 4:23news because I needed a lot of hope because I my, my, my most
- 4:30recent Star Citizen experience was painful.
- 4:35Yeah. Awful.
- 4:37Yeah. So.
- 4:38Oh yeah, three days. I couldn't log into the game.
- 4:40It just would not. I would sit in the login screen
- 4:44and they would eventually time out and eventually started
- 4:48giving me the error that I needed to type in to the issue
- 4:50cancel and then went oh it's probably your VPN.
- 4:54I'm like why did it even let me into the game if this is a VPN
- 4:58problem right? Did you Did you 30K?
- 5:02Yeah, no, it was a, it was a new number, like it was like 4175 or
- 5:10something. You see it was, yeah, yeah,
- 5:13yeah, it was 4000, No 40,000 or 41,000 and 70, that very
- 5:22specific error code. OK, OK.
- 5:24Well, I-30 KD, which actually wasn't my worst experience.
- 5:27I did 30K did pop right back in. But two or three days ago I had
- 5:37I had started the delivery mission, the large delivery
- 5:40mission and I picked everything up and I had AI, had AI had a
- 5:43time of it. I was doing other things and
- 5:47then other people kept coming down.
- 5:49So I was like helping people with their cargo, but I didn't
- 5:51care. I have like three runs left.
- 5:56Anyway, I take it all. I I pack it, I fly back, fly
- 6:02into my hanger, get in my Atlas, get out, Hanger disappears.
- 6:07Oh fuck. Oh yeah, Oh yeah, and guess who
- 6:11was not wearing his helmet? Oh no.
- 6:14So I and I'm, I'm, I'm in an Atlas so I can't like put my
- 6:19helmet on or whatever. Can.
- 6:21I choke as I haven't back in sense.
- 6:23I don't know if my C2 I had AC2. I don't know if it still has the
- 6:26cargo in it. I'm assuming it doesn't.
- 6:28I'm assuming I'm going to have to claim everything.
- 6:31Yeah, you probably will. Unfortunately, yeah.
- 6:35Yeah. So however, before that you were
- 6:38with me dude, we did the worm again.
- 6:40Yeah. Worms looking Worms looking
- 6:44pretty interesting. They've I it looks like they've
- 6:48added some movement to the worm. Yeah, it's terrifying now.
- 6:51Before it was just kind of a big cool set piece.
- 6:54You set off in the distance and kind of shot at and wasted large
- 6:58amounts of Amo, and then we're just like, hey, it's Deadpool
- 7:02and your biggest threat was either the little worms or
- 7:05players. Usually players.
- 7:08But now, now it's scary. The the worm moves around the
- 7:13map so it doesn't just stay in one location and it has a move
- 7:19it gave like a body slam. Dude, it's I think it's got two,
- 7:23it's got body slam. I think it like just it does
- 7:25what that says body slam slams down, but then there's another
- 7:29one where like it gets low and then it stretches out as like
- 7:33kind of like a snake coming out of a hole and like charges.
- 7:38Yeah. Yeah, I've been hit by all of
- 7:41it. It did glitch through the
- 7:42facility a few times, but usually when it glitched through
- 7:46the facility, it was just visual.
- 7:50It didn't like harm. We did have one person who got
- 7:52harmed by the radiation. The radiation it spits goes
- 7:57through the walls and you can still get irradiated.
- 7:59I don't know if that's on purpose or not.
- 8:00I'm assuming that's. Really shouldn't be.
- 8:03It's probably a bug. They they probably had it all
- 8:05the animation. Then the design team was just
- 8:08like you did what now it's like and now it does all these things
- 8:13that they did not originally plan.
- 8:15Well, someone planned at some point, but then they didn't
- 8:18implement the the safeguards to keep it from, well, I, I
- 8:24remember being exactly just directly next to the shuttle.
- 8:28So once you got off the shuttle, you'd look to your right and
- 8:32there would be this giant worm, and if you didn't move
- 8:34immediately, you would die. Yeah, really.
- 8:38Should sit right there. That's a bad spot for it to be.
- 8:42I mean, I liked when you're coming in with the shuttle and
- 8:44this is the fuck the worm right there.
- 8:47Yeah, it. I like the visual of that.
- 8:49The visual is great, but then you realize, like, is the
- 8:52shuttle flying through? Oh, the shuttle's flying like
- 8:54through it. It doesn't really do that, but
- 8:59it should have like an exclusion zone where it only like pops up
- 9:02on the Earth and ground a little further away.
- 9:07Well, you did mention the design team and Speaking of the design
- 9:12team. Oh yes.
- 9:14You you chose this week's question.
- 9:16Yeah, You introduce. It's all yours, buddy.
- 9:19All right. So I'm sure we're all aware of
- 9:22the new ship coming out in 4.3 and so tonight's question is
- 9:28what's up with that fin thingy? Hi could you pull up the picture
- 9:34of a of it so I can get? I didn't answer did.
- 9:37You not ask, I'll do it. I'll do it in post.
- 9:40I'll do it in. Post OK, so so if you're if
- 9:43you're listening slash watching this after take a look at your
- 9:46screen, that should be the wolf and you see that on the bottom
- 9:51and you might see a few more depending on what picture is
- 9:55chosen. That's the fin thingy.
- 9:57Why is there a fin thingy like? They even have fins.
- 10:01Fins and. Then and then they brought they
- 10:03they, they pointed it out during the during, during the inside or
- 10:08the preview for it. It's just like you're, you're
- 10:12calling attention to this for a reason.
- 10:14And I get it, but it's like it's a very interesting decision.
- 10:21They did say elsewhere on Spectrum later on that they're
- 10:25looking to see how to manually retract it in the future.
- 10:29So it's they're going to maybe add a button on the dash that
- 10:32allows you to retract it hopefully soon TM because
- 10:38otherwise it looks great in my opinion.
- 10:40Like I like the design, but that thing just why?
- 10:45I mean, well, I don't. Maybe people really like it.
- 10:50I have not. Heard an Internet?
- 10:51Like it yet? Look man, if it if this could
- 10:53also swim, then that fin I'd kind of like I'd get it.
- 10:57I guess, yeah, I mean it, I can see it later on when we have the
- 11:03new, it's going to come up the new flight model.
- 11:08That's it. It it could play a role in that
- 11:11with y'all, but for now it's just like.
- 11:15OK, why? Well, you never know.
- 11:18Maybe CI GS thinking ahead, maybe they're 3 or 4 steps ahead
- 11:21of us. Yeah, sometimes I doubt.
- 11:24Well, OK, I frequently doubt that, but maybe.
- 11:28Well, Speaking of someone who is both ahead of the curve and
- 11:32frequently doubts many things, our first guest this week is our
- 11:36oldest guest of all time. We're going to pull mom up here.
- 11:40This is Wicket. You know him, you love him.
- 11:42Wicked. Welcome to open Comms Radio.
- 11:46What's up with that Finn thingy, Citizens Susan?
- 11:53Wicked. I don't even remember how many
- 11:58times I've called him but. I knew it, dude.
- 12:00I knew it. I was weird.
- 12:03I was like yes, no idea. It's like 24.
- 12:05I felt it caller. Long time something like that.
- 12:08Long time bullshit. Finally.
- 12:11Yes, anyway. Great.
- 12:13So I was thinking of, you know, I saw the question in the in in
- 12:17the discord, the Finn. Yeah.
- 12:20What's with the Finn thingy? And the first thing that came to
- 12:23mind was last week's title. You put on the upload to YouTube
- 12:31from the live show of open comms and you called it the CIG
- 12:35Rudderless. And that is the answer to the
- 12:37question. No, not anymore.
- 12:38They put one on a ship so see how she is no longer rather.
- 12:43We've got our answer, folks. Thanks for coming.
- 12:46Have a great night everyone. The other thought I had was
- 12:53when, when, when you're part, when you're a ship that's part
- 12:59of such a diverse universe, you have to have some way to
- 13:04navigate through all the sloppy bullshit.
- 13:06So they threw a fin on it. So it could stay the course, it
- 13:11could say the course right to the bank and wouldn't lose its
- 13:15way. Well, it's not, it's not
- 13:20overpriced. I don't even know how much it
- 13:23is. I saw them, they posted it
- 13:25today. It's OK.
- 13:27It's 100 bucks $90.00 war bond which kind of is in line does.
- 13:31It have a quantum drive. Yes, yeah.
- 13:36That's the first Kruger ship with a quantum drive.
- 13:40It's the first Kruger ship. Technically it wasn't snubs.
- 13:44Well, are isn't that a ship too? Aren't the the Maryland and the
- 13:48Archimedes ships? Tomato.
- 13:51Tomato. They're ships, they just.
- 13:53Sure. You know, they're kind of like
- 13:55the Fury. They don't have a quantum drive.
- 13:56They have to be transported. That's true.
- 13:59I mean, we have ships in the real world.
- 14:02They don't have quantum drives and we still call them ships,
- 14:04so. Exactly.
- 14:06Well, anyway, I mean, it seems kind of pointless, that whole
- 14:10thing, because any kind of control surfaces have absolutely
- 14:15no effect in the current game. So whether it's a, you know, if
- 14:19it's just a flying square, it shouldn't matter because it has
- 14:23no effect. I guess it's, you know, it's a
- 14:26design choice. It's a choice.
- 14:29Who knows what it means. I could imagine something like
- 14:34that would be cool if it was big enough to where it allows you to
- 14:37go down like fly map of the Earth, you know, if if you know
- 14:43what I mean by that, where the fin could stick down in the
- 14:45water and it keeps you at just above the waves, you know, and
- 14:49flying super close to the to to the ocean on a ocean planet or
- 14:54something. That would be cool, kind of.
- 14:58Yeah, because like, what's a spaceship need with a?
- 15:00Yeah. There's I mean there's all kinds
- 15:02of things you could think about, you know, there's that, that
- 15:06that could be cool. It reminds me also some, some
- 15:11kind of anime thing I once saw years and years ago that had
- 15:15something like that, like a, it had like a, a ventricle fin like
- 15:20that below the the hull of the ship, but I and it kind of stuck
- 15:25in the ground. Somehow it has to I I forgot
- 15:27what it did exactly. It just something that popped in
- 15:29my mind when I first saw the ship.
- 15:33I know most folks are comparing it to the swordfish from Cowboy
- 15:37Bebop. Maybe that's what it was.
- 15:38I don't know. Maybe that's where.
- 15:40I saw the swordfish. Which one's that?
- 15:43What the Spikes Ship and Cowboy Bebop the.
- 15:45Main OK, Yeah, yeah, It's called the Swordfish.
- 15:48Yeah, Swordfish 2 technically. That's what I was thinking in my
- 15:51brain. And they have a red one too.
- 15:53And his Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:56And also that the name of that one is a reference to Porco
- 16:00Rosso. So yeah, like it because it's
- 16:05the, it's like the Rosso. So like the red but it's the
- 16:09main character in Porco Rosso had a red aircraft as well, just
- 16:14like that. See, they're, they're creative,
- 16:18they're, they're putting things in there.
- 16:19They're letting us know they're fans too.
- 16:22But Oh yeah, they've done so many stars.
- 16:23Like the same things we like. Oh yeah, if you saw this week's.
- 16:28Yeah, this new ship it has, it has bespoke size 4 Gatling.
- 16:33All right, here it goes. I mean, this tiny ass ship has
- 16:38these huge guns, you know, they're ballistic, They're going
- 16:42to run out of ammo. So that's the Achilles heel.
- 16:44But you know, that's crazy. They have a lot of ammo for
- 16:48Ballistics. They they really upped the ammo
- 16:50counts like over 4000 for those I think.
- 16:53Wow. Oh did they size 40?
- 16:55That's kind of worth it. Yeah, still ballistic.
- 16:59Yeah, but size 4. Yeah, I think my Zeus has size
- 17:05fours on the nose, so I wouldn't say it's that big.
- 17:10Yeah, but look how big the Zeus is comparatively.
- 17:14Yeah, yeah, it's true. But this, you know, so I was
- 17:20comparing this more to the Arrow because it's a light fighter and
- 17:24I haven't heard anyone compare it to the Arrow yet.
- 17:27But when they advertised it, it's sounds like it's very
- 17:31flimsy, the ship itself. So if, if, if it could be taken
- 17:37down easily, I'm not opposed to it having strong guns.
- 17:42Yeah, because you're not going to be in the air very long
- 17:44anyway. Just someone has to have a good
- 17:45luck on you and bada Bing bada boom.
- 17:49It's a glass cannon, Speedy glass cannon.
- 17:54Well, we really won't know what it does and how well it does
- 17:58until it's kind of like release in the in the wider game sphere
- 18:02and you know, it has to survive or thrive in multiple different
- 18:08environments. Who knows, it may be the next
- 18:10meta ship or maybe just, you know, $100 paperweight.
- 18:17Well, I, I love it. I love the look of it.
- 18:20I love that pulp. I mean, you know me, I like the
- 18:23Freelancer. I like those.
- 18:25Like, I like rounded ships and sleek ships and ships that look
- 18:29like they're kind of 3D printed in one piece.
- 18:31Like I love that. And this, this kind of hits all
- 18:33that. I almost, I'm considering
- 18:35putting this into my fleet. I don't have a fighter.
- 18:37I've been wanting a fighter I would I would have to melt my
- 18:40pulse, my Atlas and then I'd probably be able to get this.
- 18:49So is it worth a pulse in an Atlas?
- 18:52Maybe fly in a game first That's.
- 18:54What I'm thinking that's. What I'm thinking?
- 18:57And it's not the only ship in the on the horizon.
- 19:03We have, I heard somewhere 6 known ships coming before the
- 19:07end of the year. Yeah, that tracks.
- 19:11That's roughly what the the monthly update said.
- 19:15I'd have to pull it up to get the specifics, but.
- 19:19I heard of. Those are the Apollo anyway.
- 19:21Iron Glad probably won't make it till next year.
- 19:27Oh, you don't think so? Yeah.
- 19:29No, I don't think it's going to be this year.
- 19:31I think they're going to push it big for whatever Drake Khan is
- 19:35doing next year for Invictus, their Invictus alternative,
- 19:39which is Drake Khan because they weren't invited.
- 19:42And then they came back this year because the ID didn't want
- 19:46to put effort into making a whole other convention, which,
- 19:50yeah, that's fair. Well, looking at the, looking at
- 19:55the funding we're in August 2025.
- 20:00We're we're, we're already where we were in November of 2024.
- 20:07Yeah, they're they're good. They have no need to.
- 20:12And yet they still will pump out some popular ships like the
- 20:16Apollo is probably coming this year.
- 20:20Perseus, that'll be a big seller.
- 20:24Apollo Perseus. And if they do both Apollo's,
- 20:27that's three right there. I think they're going to do both
- 20:29at the same time. Where there's two Apollos.
- 20:31Yeah, there's the Apollo Medevac.
- 20:37I can't remember the exact naming.
- 20:40It's the the slightly heavier armored Apollo.
- 20:44It is the Apollo Triage and the Apollo Medevac.
- 20:46And the Medevac is a kind of heavier armored, slower with
- 20:50better missiles. Very interesting, but it's
- 20:56they're both medical ships. Yes.
- 21:00Why wouldn't you get the more heavily armored 1?
- 21:02I mean, it's got to be a lot slower.
- 21:05It's we don't know yet, but it probably will be slower.
- 21:09Yeah. I mean price is another thing
- 21:12like the Apollo triage is cheaper than the Apollo meta
- 21:16pack not by much. It's like 25 bucks I think so
- 21:20that's. Well, any talk?
- 21:21Of relative any. Talk of armor is irrelevant
- 21:24right now because we don't even know what that means.
- 21:29This is true. This is true.
- 21:32Well, Wicket, is there anything else you want to say before I
- 21:34pull our next guest? No, I'm sure I'll I'll come up
- 21:38with some other condescending comment.
- 21:42Bring them up. All right, all right.
- 21:44Well, this next guest, you know him, you love him.
- 21:47He's got a swanky old voice. Lord Anubis, welcome to Opencoms
- 21:52radio, your Star Citizen call in show.
- 21:54Lord Anubis, what's up with that fin thingy?
- 21:59It's a keel fin. Oh yeah, but why?
- 22:04Because it's supposed to look like a sailboat.
- 22:07Supposed to look like a boat. That's what the dev said.
- 22:11Supposed to look like a boat. The dinghy.
- 22:16Yeah, they they, they wanted to. They wanted to space boat and.
- 22:23Space boats to some extent. Little, quite literally at
- 22:26times. It also needed a fence so it
- 22:29doesn't get blown over in the space water.
- 22:33True, the flight model is underwater, but it's not space,
- 22:38so makes sense. I remember when that was literal
- 22:42like back in the day, and I'm talking back early portal, pre
- 22:46portal us, our days when the engine was literally just space
- 22:52but water or water but space like they did.
- 22:56The code was still there for treating it as water.
- 22:59So when you would run out of cold oxygen, you would actually
- 23:03drown instead of like, you know, running out of oxygen and space
- 23:08like one would. Yeah, how interesting.
- 23:11Yeah. That's great.
- 23:13That's not a thing I think they would like need to do in a game,
- 23:16but I guess like, I don't know, I guess if they had it, Yeah,
- 23:22yeah, yeah, they had it. So they just implemented it like
- 23:24a shortcut, Sig told me. They never take shortcuts well.
- 23:33Well, I mean, it's 12 years and it's not even their engine
- 23:38still. It it's it is now Star engine is
- 23:43far more their engine than it used to be.
- 23:46Yeah, but they took a shortcut. Yeah, I knew.
- 23:50But let's get back on this, because I brought this up last
- 23:52week and I thought it was really funny.
- 23:54You said if Star Citizen were a submarine game, the submarine
- 23:59game play would be perfect. Oh yeah, I mean, let's just do,
- 24:05let's just do a a thing. Let's just lobby them to make
- 24:08its feequest DSV the game. It wouldn't take too much time
- 24:14and. People that get that reference
- 24:16are very happy right now. Yeah, I don't get it.
- 24:21It's. I know you like I know Sequest.
- 24:25What did you say? Sequest DMV.
- 24:27What'd you say, DSV? DSV that.
- 24:31Was the name of the show. An Adult Swim?
- 24:36No. Not that. 10 That's the one I C
- 24:40lab C Lab, 2020. Yeah, C lab's way different, no?
- 24:45I do think it was change change the reference to C lab so people
- 24:48understand it. Yeah.
- 24:53So as you asked me to repeat, to change this for people to hear,
- 24:57the second time it it, it, it, it just converted over to C Lab
- 25:022020. Oh, that, That'd be such a good
- 25:05game. Dude, did that break a clip?
- 25:08Yeah, that worked. Good job, we'll edit that in
- 25:12later. Yeah, well, they have this new
- 25:16Kruger ship that you're right, man.
- 25:18It looks like it could be on the ocean.
- 25:22Don Davis. Yeah.
- 25:26I'm part of the Wikipedia page. It's cool, you know, it's cool.
- 25:31I mean, The thing is, is that I don't know.
- 25:39I mean, like I, I'm not into light fighters in the game
- 25:44because they don't make much of an effect.
- 25:46They're great for fighting each other.
- 25:47But but nowadays when you've got interests and everything like
- 25:50that, there's really nothing you can do with a light fighter.
- 25:54I mean, most people are just armored up.
- 25:59That's true. I mean, even even if you had 20
- 26:01light fighter against an interest, that's just 20 targets
- 26:04for the people in the interest. Yeah, and I mean, there's such a
- 26:11power disparity that, you know, I mean, I, I barely find any
- 26:17reason to use my F7A. A lot of times I go into combat
- 26:21and it's just, you know, if it's anything larger than a, anything
- 26:25larger than like let's say A600I, it's hard.
- 26:32Yeah, yeah, I mean the most fun I ever had in in a combat ship
- 26:36is like in the Hurricane. I just that's just one of my
- 26:39favorites and they they do have the little missions.
- 26:41I mean they have all the missions take and the bounties
- 26:43you can take. So it's not like in terms of a
- 26:46PVE though, there's still a great use for these ships.
- 26:49Like you can take your your Kruger wolf out and start doing
- 26:53bounties, you know. So it's really just in like the
- 26:56PvP sphere that you know, you have that kind of pay to win
- 27:01level level. Still, we're all someone has to
- 27:03do is roll up in the in their Idris or Polaris and everyone
- 27:09else in the smaller ships is just is just pretty much done.
- 27:13Yeah, and, and they do need to, I mean, we've got a lot of PvP
- 27:18in the game, but you know, one of the things about, you know,
- 27:21player bounties is that, yeah, you don't know what to bring and
- 27:27they're just going to jump around anyways.
- 27:30And so they need something that's light and fast, which a
- 27:33good light fighter would be, would be great for, you know, so
- 27:38you can actually get in and actually bite them.
- 27:40But nowadays, you know, if they're up armor then you're
- 27:43moving in something slow too and they just jump away.
- 27:47I think a lot of that's where precision targeting was supposed
- 27:52to play a role. But since so many ships lack
- 27:56full components passes that there's no real point in
- 28:01precision targeting anything because, you know, and I hit it
- 28:04probably anyway and it doesn't exist.
- 28:09So they want to like shoot on these big ships.
- 28:12They want you to shoot these components.
- 28:13Like those that aren't aware is that chips have should have
- 28:18physicalized components and a small ship should in theory do
- 28:22better at homing in on say the power plane or the shield
- 28:26generator on a ship that it's attacking.
- 28:29Then if you're just like a Terry gunner and you're at the will of
- 28:33the pilot, pointing you at the right thing at the right time.
- 28:37Yeah, but not all these ships have these components.
- 28:40Or. Right.
- 28:42So like, you know, we have 6 new ships coming up.
- 28:45I think it's supposedly this year.
- 28:50I'd like to see them do some gold passes or, or bring a lot
- 28:53of these other ships up to snuff.
- 28:55Because if, if they're going to keep releasing ships that, for
- 28:58example, have these bespoke ballistic cannons on them, then
- 29:05I want to see like the gameplay that like why you releasing all
- 29:09these ballistic ships if you know, it's not really the meta
- 29:13right now? Or if you, if you know, like
- 29:16people don't want that because it's just not useful.
- 29:19So if you have a new flight model, engineering or whatever
- 29:24that you have coming into the game and then you release it and
- 29:28only three ships, it only applies to three or four ships
- 29:31that you just released. Well, then people are going to
- 29:34be a little upset about that because I'm going to be coming
- 29:36around in my ship that I bought 10 years ago.
- 29:40It's interesting. It's interesting that you say
- 29:43release. And that got me.
- 29:46Thinking that got me thinking, well, you know, the cure for all
- 29:52this, right, is to do the gold pass, do system componentry.
- 29:57So, you know, like, like Hobo was saying that precision
- 30:03targeting has a use, you know, you're trying to disable
- 30:06components and you know, maybe eventually armor will come into
- 30:11play and whatever. But you know, there's no money
- 30:16in a cure. There's only money in the
- 30:19treatment. And of course, I'm going to go
- 30:21back to they have no incentive to fix the old game, the old
- 30:27ships. Like what's the incentive to fix
- 30:30the Atlas? Self respect.
- 30:33The the the the the Avenger Titan you.
- 30:36Know that's reputation. That's a ship that's been around
- 30:39forever. So it got me thinking, you know,
- 30:42we have all these Mark ones, Mark twos.
- 30:45Oh boy. Eventually we're going to have
- 30:47the Avenger Titan Mark 2 and that'll be a new ship and we'll
- 30:51have to resell that and that'll have the gold standard and the
- 30:54old ship would just be retired. No, that's not at all what they
- 30:59said they're going to do. No, they've explicitly said
- 31:04that's not how they're going to do Mark Twos.
- 31:08Well, when they did the what? Happened with all those Hornets.
- 31:11You know they had the Hornet Mark 2.
- 31:13Because Chris Roberts 10 years ago wanted to have the concept
- 31:17of a classic car version of the ship and they already had the
- 31:21new model for the Hornet for squash and 42, so they're easy.
- 31:28Oh OK, well don't be upset when it happens.
- 31:35I got to say, I got to say you're both very convincing on
- 31:37that because I mean, you did. They did do it with the Hornet
- 31:40right now, did you? You got a free upgrade though,
- 31:42if you already had the mark one, right?
- 31:44Nope. No.
- 31:48Damn. Well, there's no money in a
- 31:52cure, man. There's only money in treatment.
- 31:54Well, not necessarily. I mean, you know, what they can
- 31:58do is when they when they make a let's say a Titan Mark 2, they
- 32:04they they build off the original one.
- 32:06They could do the gold pass at that point in order to, in order
- 32:09to justify the time spent on it while modifying it to now make a
- 32:14mark too with the same features, the same gold pass, maybe some
- 32:18up armoured, you know, stuff and some some more guns.
- 32:22But you know, if it's built off the same frame, they should be
- 32:25able to still do it and achieve both at the same time.
- 32:30Because I do think that there should be progression in designs
- 32:36because. Feed Peter without Robin, Paul.
- 32:42Yeah, but still there's. That there's still some new
- 32:47money coming in. Yeah, I I think that that would
- 32:51be a perfectly viable way to do it.
- 32:53Well, and then the Mark Wines would be like, you know, they'd
- 32:56be like vintage. They'd actually be pretty cool
- 32:57in that in that respect if they got the upgrade and if they get
- 33:00the same love. And then people with the mark
- 33:02ones would be a lot of people who maybe don't want to upgrade
- 33:05it. Maybe the combat ship, you're
- 33:07like, oh, I need to have the meta.
- 33:09But if if I'm getting an upgraded, you know, exploration
- 33:13ship or whatever, maybe that vintage one is there.
- 33:15Why would you fly the ship that's less good than the new
- 33:19mark? Want mark 2?
- 33:21Well, the difference from the mark one and two Hornets isn't
- 33:24that significant, so. But it's the mark 2 is better
- 33:28than the mark one, right? Yeah, but the, you know.
- 33:34Who would know? With the current balance like,
- 33:37but that's working off the current balance and.
- 33:40Well, that's. Never something to work off of.
- 33:43But like my car? That's all we have to work off
- 33:45of for right now. That's also fair.
- 33:47All things being equal, that's the only thing we can work off.
- 33:50Of it's like a few percentage points at best.
- 33:53Like it's so small. But it's still better, right?
- 33:57Yes, but at the same time, my 2019 is better than my 2001 car.
- 34:03I mean, you're going to have refreshes and I think that's
- 34:05going to be expected. And I think that they should do
- 34:07that more because, yes, why isn't there a new model all the
- 34:12time? Like so with cars, it's every
- 34:14three years, usually they do a refresh on the model and then
- 34:18every six years they'll do a whole new model, you know, So
- 34:24it, it, it makes sense to do those incremental things.
- 34:27I think it's a good way for people to just, it'll have more
- 34:31variety, justify the the thing, boost the sales, you know?
- 34:37Think it's just another another way to rationalize getting
- 34:43people to spend more money. Yeah.
- 34:45Well, 100%, yeah. Well, Speaking of someone who's
- 34:50spent a little bit of money in the game, we have a we do have
- 34:52another guest waiting for. This guy's a whale.
- 34:55This guy's a this guy will and he'll he'll tell us.
- 34:57He knows I can. I bet.
- 34:59I kind of don't want to let him in because I I picture him like
- 35:01festering in his seat, keep listening to her screaming at a
- 35:05screen. So I kind of want to keep him in
- 35:07there. But maybe, maybe hobo, you want
- 35:09to introduce this next fellow? Sure thing.
- 35:13Well, he's he's our glorious leader who has LED us into
- 35:17battle many times and is very bad at parking ships.
- 35:23Is Murphy, Jack? Hello everybody.
- 35:27Welcome to open comms radio. What's up with that fin thingy?
- 35:33Yeah, that thing like, I think it's cool.
- 35:35I like how it looks until it flips over and I was like, what
- 35:42it kind of looks. It reminds me of like a dolphin.
- 35:46And if they keep that fin down there, it's like.
- 35:50It's a very happy doll. Yeah, like it's like it's hard
- 35:54to Unsee, but it's cool. I like the direction they went
- 35:57with it. It's different and it's follows
- 36:01with their, you know, their snubs.
- 36:03I like it. I'm interested to see what
- 36:06variants they come out with, but.
- 36:09Racing should be easy. I know, right?
- 36:12That'll be, I think, those. Guns are gonna need 2 fins.
- 36:15Yes, it's add more fins. Think like that with the
- 36:19Peregrine, right? Yeah, it'd be cool to see those
- 36:22two and the 350R right? I guess I'm 50, but interesting
- 36:30to say the least. But as far as like I heard the
- 36:33the Hornet talk, we know like we have people that have the F7A
- 36:39Mark one, right? And it's, and Xenoverse, who I
- 36:43haven't seen in a while, but I know he has the one.
- 36:45And he like specifically would fly that in PvP just for the
- 36:50sake of the cool factor. And it was good and he was
- 36:54really good with it. And as far as the meta, the
- 36:59meta's obviously constantly changing.
- 37:02But yeah, the Mark 2F7A, especially with well, not so
- 37:07much now, but especially in the other four point O patches where
- 37:12you could put the Super Hornet turret on it and get an
- 37:14additional 8 size 1 missiles. The guy was it's hard to beat,
- 37:18but that you know that in lore and everything that is the, you
- 37:24know, the fighter, right? So it made sense.
- 37:29And I don't know how I, I, I kind of was a little like Mark
- 37:361, Mark 2. Is this going to be a
- 37:38continuation or is it going to be, you know, is this just a one
- 37:42off? Because this was already
- 37:43established in the lore, right? I mean, we've been seeing the
- 37:47F7A Mark 2 at IE since what, 2940?
- 37:52It was a 49 I think. Well, and back then it was a
- 37:56reward. It was a.
- 37:59Reward for completing 42, right? No, no, not that old.
- 38:04What? God.
- 38:05That's for the F7 was no. Well, you know, there's a lot of
- 38:09ships. I'm getting confused.
- 38:10I'm sorry. No no, no no, as in that was
- 38:12never dated ever. People that that's an old wives
- 38:16tale is the idea that CIG would give you a a some full ship or
- 38:21whatever for finishing Squadron 42?
- 38:23That was. That was, that's, that's no,
- 38:26that's never. I've been propagandized by the
- 38:29community. Is that the same ship they said
- 38:31they'd never sell? No, that's no.
- 38:35That's also been taken out of context, but.
- 38:39But didn't they say they would never sell that chip?
- 38:41It was a reward. The F8C.
- 38:44Yeah, F87-F8C. Yeah, F8.
- 38:47C They never both took it. All right, well, that's it for
- 38:56the show today. There, there's a lot about the
- 38:59word access to that people ran away with that Chris, Chris
- 39:03Roberts said at one point. And it's been taken horribly out
- 39:08of context ever since. Well, if we've if we've learned
- 39:11anything that don't put too much weight on what Chris Roberts
- 39:14says, especially when he's in front of hundreds of people.
- 39:18Yeah, he's had a problem with that.
- 39:20Yeah. But he also said he wanted a
- 39:23classic car ship and 10 years later, here we are with the
- 39:27classic car ship. So that happened.
- 39:31That's true. I didn't like it, trust me, and
- 39:34as much as I am pointing out that it was kind of a one off
- 39:38it, I hated it. I thought it was stupid.
- 39:40I thought it should have been a flat out offer, an upgrade for
- 39:44free for owners of the One Mark 1 Excetera, but it's just it
- 39:50happens and people like them are too.
- 39:53Like I've heard a lot of like if Schweet was here, he could tell
- 39:57us how much he loves his Hornets.
- 39:59He is horny for Hornets. He buys all the Hornets.
- 40:03He buys all the Hornets. It's like the one should be
- 40:05always buys. I mean, the F7A is what I always
- 40:07fly. I mean by the side, I just, I
- 40:10always liked it. Seeing it at the show, it was
- 40:13always just like, man, that thing is, it's great.
- 40:16It's really cool. And if I mean, I I do believe
- 40:20eventually, well, I hope they can figure out a balance with
- 40:25everything, but I do think maybe even this patch the F7A is going
- 40:29to get dethroned. Well, the light fighter love,
- 40:35you know, you go up one-on-one against the light fighter with
- 40:41somebody that knows what they're doing.
- 40:42I mean, you're, you can't, you can't do much in F7A.
- 40:47Well, we were just talking about how useless they are.
- 40:51Which Which light fighters? Light fighters, because we have
- 40:54the Idris, you have the big ship, so you come if you're PvP
- 40:57and if you're in the verse in the PU, you you come across a a
- 41:01light fighter. But if you're in a big ship, who
- 41:04cares? Yeah, I mean there is that
- 41:08right, But in a in a group setting?
- 41:12Yeah, yeah. But that actors, we've taken
- 41:15down Polar Eye before. With light fighters.
- 41:20A mixture of craft. Well, with auroras.
- 41:25Well, yeah, but that. Hey, talk about a special ship.
- 41:28Can't you can't get an Aurora anymore?
- 41:31That I think is getting a mark 2 for the reasons previously
- 41:35stated about designs involved. I will that that is an
- 41:39exceptional say is. I think we'll get a mark 2 for
- 41:42the Aurora because it's such an old ass design.
- 41:45What's a fin? Do you think we'll get a mark a
- 41:48Mark 2 Aurora with Squadron 42 and Star Citizen combo packet?
- 41:55It'll be a reward when you complete the Squadron 42.
- 41:58Right. Yeah, that that's what they
- 42:00were. People were saying all.
- 42:05Right, all right, all right, all right.
- 42:06We can't beat. They will probably try and give
- 42:10us a pre-order date and we know how CID is with dates and at
- 42:13that point then they could sell a Squadron 42 again.
- 42:18What's what's an Aurora Mark 2 going to be?
- 42:22Down on more wings, more, more Dorito.
- 42:26Couple fins. Some more fins I I genuinely
- 42:32don't know. Will that make the mark one more
- 42:35valuable in anyone's eyes? It's an Aurora, yeah.
- 42:42There's not a lot of people out there that absolutely adore
- 42:45Auroras so. But I fly a lot.
- 42:47I have one. It it's not a bad ship.
- 42:51It, it's kind of it, it's it's kind of cool.
- 42:56I think it was my, my first ship or no, I had a Mustang when I
- 43:00first pledged. I mean, it was, it was, it was,
- 43:04I think what was really cool about it for the time was that
- 43:08you can get into it and then go to the seat instead of, you
- 43:13know, just hopping into the cockpit.
- 43:14And you know, for a lot of games, that was stuff that was
- 43:17rare. Right.
- 43:19Yeah, it was a big deal. There was a time in 322 the Ln
- 43:23was like actually very good at fighting.
- 43:26He was super. Nimble.
- 43:28Yeah. It's pretty small, so like like
- 43:32it's not a bad ship. I won't say that.
- 43:34I just feel like the design is so old that I would not be
- 43:37surprised if they do a mark 2. Kind of like a classic, huh?
- 43:42Yeah, like a classic car. Thanks, Chris.
- 43:50I mean. Thank you, Chris Roberts.
- 43:53The more variety the better, because it only makes them.
- 43:56You know, this is not a small, it's not supposed to be a small
- 43:59Galaxy. You know, it's supposed to be
- 44:02lived in spacefaring civilizations that have been
- 44:06around for hundreds of years somehow turned an entire planet
- 44:10into a ecumenopolis in a random boring system.
- 44:19You know, I mean, these these are these are things where you
- 44:21should see more variety. There should be a lot more
- 44:23variety. And I don't mind them selling
- 44:25ships because they got to pay these guys.
- 44:27They got to keep going even even after one point O comes out.
- 44:30They're going to have to keep selling ships.
- 44:34But that's fine. Oh, you think you think they're
- 44:37not going to move to skins, you think they're just because this
- 44:39is something they have said and don't you know, I've heard them
- 44:43when they're not going to sell ships after one point O.
- 44:47It wouldn't make any sense for them not to sell ship.
- 44:52Wow. Is anyone standing firm on this
- 44:54or is everyone just rolled over? No, I don't know.
- 44:57Make a subscription, but everybody's against it me when I
- 45:00say. Chris is against it too.
- 45:02He has come out very strongly against making it a subscription
- 45:05only. Yeah, I don't need a
- 45:06subscription to play my game. I mean look at like
- 45:09collectibles, skins. You know.
- 45:12Skinned armors, skinned guns, whatever.
- 45:16Like there is a lot they could do.
- 45:17There's, there's the people are going to soak that up.
- 45:21Face building stuff that's going to get.
- 45:22Yeah, look at that. Like furniture, right?
- 45:25Yeah. I mean realistically.
- 45:29Pets. Can we talk about little?
- 45:31Pets. You know, maybe that's coming.
- 45:34Cats get a move. Flat cats.
- 45:36What would your pets do though? I mean they just follow you
- 45:38around. Probably do a lot.
- 45:42Well, I think if if they're going to do something like skins
- 45:46or pets or anything, I think they should, they should they're
- 45:50going to do that. They shouldn't do it in in A2
- 45:53fold way to to keep monetization coming in and make it kind of
- 45:57Fair. Make it in such a way where you
- 46:00don't just buy the skin and you have you buy like the blueprint,
- 46:04but you still have to make it gamify it and you still have to
- 46:06make it a game. You still have to have the
- 46:08resources. You still have to build the
- 46:10thing and then you can apply it. You know, that way people that
- 46:15don't want to buy it, they can still maybe find the skin by,
- 46:20you know, it's a drop or it's a loot box or, you know, they,
- 46:23they, they go exploring and find, find it.
- 46:26And, you know, maybe it has a limited amount of times that can
- 46:30be crafted or applied or whatever.
- 46:32You know, whereas maybe if you buy this do do do a purchase of
- 46:36something like that and you build it in game, it's more of a
- 46:39permanent thing. Yeah.
- 46:41It's just just kind of spitballing.
- 46:44So wicked, can I buy your blueprint or can I trade
- 46:46blueprints with you? I'm sure you could like, let's
- 46:49say, you know, like we have no idea how they're going to
- 46:52implement crafting. But if, if the blueprint
- 46:56blueprint system has worked in many different kinds of games
- 46:59and it's something that that could be traded, you know, yeah,
- 47:04something that can be discovered.
- 47:06It could be a drop, it could be a discovery, or it could some
- 47:09some things could be crafted, you know, and then there's
- 47:12higher end things that you know, some of some of the blueprint
- 47:16crafting type systems in some games, they have research and
- 47:19development where you can spend time to make the blueprint
- 47:24better than it was or combine multiple blueprints or comply,
- 47:29combine variations of blueprints to make a a better end result.
- 47:34I mean, there's, you know, Sky's the limit.
- 47:36If if they, they could really, really invest some time and
- 47:39effort into flushing and design, flushing it out and designing
- 47:43something that they can bring into in into an MMO type
- 47:47setting. That whole crafting the and then
- 47:51that crafting goes into base building.
- 47:53You know, if they just have it to where, oh, you just flopped
- 47:57down a module and you throw the resources into it to build it.
- 48:00I mean, that's going to be boring.
- 48:04And this game needs to last 10 years at least, you know.
- 48:09And for a game like that, you look at Star Trek Online, their
- 48:14model is they sell ship, and those ships have traits or
- 48:18special equipment that you can put on other things.
- 48:21But it's the way they've stayed afloat for going on 15 years.
- 48:26And Star Citizen have to last at least that long to make any of
- 48:30this worth it. And so, you know, I mean, in the
- 48:34modern world, your game survived by selling things.
- 48:38And there's not necessarily anything wrong with that as long
- 48:41as it doesn't create a power imbalance, you know, then it
- 48:45then it's fine if it's cosmetic stuff, if it's just, hey, this
- 48:48looks cool. It's fine if you're selling
- 48:50ships, but you can also get those shipped in game through
- 48:53maybe extraordinary measures, but that that's fine.
- 49:00All right. Well, I do want to move the the
- 49:02next part of this conversation over to things coming up, things
- 49:08we know, things we see things, things that maybe some of us
- 49:14have played. So I know a couple of you, at
- 49:18least two of you here have played the Onyx facilities.
- 49:21Hobo mentioned it earlier. I don't want any spoilers, OK.
- 49:28But Murphy, Jack Hobo, Anubis, did you play the Onyx
- 49:32facilities? I have not yet.
- 49:35All right, so Murphy, Jack and Hobo can give us a little one
- 49:38sentence what to expect and how you like it.
- 49:45If you want to go. First, well, well, First off, I
- 49:51could do like one word amazing and like it is, if this
- 50:01continues this level of environmental, just the
- 50:07building, the whole the feeling, the sound, all that like like
- 50:11they nailed it. They absolutely nailed this.
- 50:15It's the first time ever I played this and I felt like I
- 50:21got immersed in wanting to know what the fuck is going on here.
- 50:25Like story wise, like I, you know you when we go do the worm,
- 50:31you see the little the little recording devices and you listen
- 50:35to them. You're like, OK, yeah.
- 50:36You kind of half listen a little bit, and then you listen and
- 50:39it's like, oh, Doctor Yora da da da.
- 50:42Yeah, you kind of get it. Here you're like, I got to find
- 50:45that. I got to What the Hell's going
- 50:47on in this room? What the hell is that?
- 50:49What is that? How?
- 50:49Would they do that? What is that?
- 50:51Yeah. And then you're like, you're
- 50:54looking around, you're like, look at that guy.
- 50:55It's like, it's crazy. Well, it's really interesting.
- 51:00A question for you, is it on the same level or better than the
- 51:04Dune MSQ that we played? It's on that level.
- 51:08It's it is. I think it's not, it's not as
- 51:12big as that obviously, but as a as a singular location.
- 51:17So like pick a singular location in Dune.
- 51:19It's on that level 100%. Oh, that's cool then, because
- 51:22that was very well done. So look man, I liked the
- 51:26resource Dr. conceptually, I thought they, you know, they did
- 51:29really, really good with that, but the bugs ruined it.
- 51:33What are the chances of bugs ruining this experience for for
- 51:38me when I pop in there? 72%.
- 51:44I from looking to. That ISC today, it's probably
- 51:47pretty high. Well, the I mean before just
- 51:52quick hobo, I'll just say like it can ruin your mission.
- 51:57Maybe if the mission bugs out. But like if you go there your
- 52:03first time going there and your mission bugs out, you're not
- 52:04going to be you're not going to be angry.
- 52:06You're going to be like, holy shit.
- 52:08Because just as a in a sandbox way, this is really well done.
- 52:11Like so is. I don't get it.
- 52:12Is it a sandbox? Is it a what?
- 52:14Is this because they reclassified it from a Co-op
- 52:19zone to a sandbox? They shifted that away.
- 52:22They shifted the Co-op zone stuff away that this is a
- 52:24different thing. OK, so it's it's a different
- 52:27thing. So it is a sandbox activity.
- 52:29Can multiple people show up there?
- 52:30They have nothing to do with each other.
- 52:33Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That's something that is going
- 52:40to need work there. There there is high potential of
- 52:43being grief, but a good thing is that there's 120 of these and
- 52:50you also you have to have the mission to get in right.
- 52:53You can't you can't just fly there and and go in without the
- 52:55mission right. Or am I thinking of this wrong
- 52:57You're. Right, you're right.
- 52:59Somebody can sit outside and just snipe you when you come
- 53:02back out or snipe you on the way.
- 53:03In well, it's a hanger and it's I believe it's a personal
- 53:06hanger. So if somebody yeah, because I
- 53:09got attacked by a gladius and they couldn't come in because if
- 53:12they came in they would get stowed.
- 53:15So it's. It's soft instanced as I've
- 53:20called it, because it's not real instancing.
- 53:22It's not. Can somebody fly, fly their
- 53:25ship, you know, ram you? I mean same as that A at a city.
- 53:33Yeah. So is this bunkers 2 point?
- 53:35OI hope. So.
- 53:39OK. Because it's like it's an
- 53:41instance hanger too, by the way. So like, it's not, it's the kind
- 53:44of like Wiccolo, you go there, you get your own hanger.
- 53:47And are the stories the same or do they?
- 53:50Are they dynamic? Do they change?
- 53:54Oh, it's, it's just a set emissions.
- 53:56So it's like 12345. I think we've done, I don't know
- 53:59what we got up to six or seven. But it's the same.
- 54:02I'll give away the whole bag. Now it's a story.
- 54:06This is a story. So it's.
- 54:08It's not, I think. I think when Nubus is getting it
- 54:10is replayability. Yeah, I'm all the first time,
- 54:15but am I going to be able to play this two dozen times and
- 54:19still feel, you know, good about it?
- 54:22I think so they're they're the, the replayability is logically
- 54:28inserted into the world without spoiling anything, It's hey, go
- 54:33back and check on this and logically, OK, it would make
- 54:37sense that maybe something had changed and they want new data,
- 54:41so you got to go back. But I will I'll say too, though,
- 54:45I mean, once you complete it and once you're done with it, I
- 54:49mean, that's a there's no, I don't think there's a big reason
- 54:54to go back, but it's going to take a while to get to that
- 54:56point. It's just the same as in Dune.
- 54:58Same or any, I'd argue to say any MSQ quest or thing, right?
- 55:04Once you go there, you do the story all right.
- 55:07But The thing is, is this has they can build on this, I think
- 55:11too. This can get, you know, like the
- 55:13worm going and collecting resources, right?
- 55:16This this has that potential too.
- 55:18So. What either that, that's kind of
- 55:20the the thing that it's been so far is that they have these
- 55:23wonderful things and these wonderful experiences that you
- 55:27try once and then you did it and then you move on to the next
- 55:30one. It's an amusement park style MMO
- 55:33and I'm, I'm hoping that they do take some sort of generative AI
- 55:40to implement new stories into the game.
- 55:43Because if they can't do it themselves, then at least have
- 55:46something that can make something randomized and
- 55:50personal and depending upon your own, you know, unique set of
- 55:58abilities, skills, and and reputations.
- 56:03You know, in order to be able to use places like these and
- 56:06breathe new life in. I don't know Numis, that may be
- 56:10your your unpopular hot take. I have many.
- 56:14Thoughts on? That but.
- 56:16AI took my job Anubis. AI gave me way there's There's
- 56:24no way an AI could replicate what they did with these
- 56:27missions. No, but, but I mean, again, it's
- 56:32one of those things where you do have, you know, the
- 56:36replayability factor, generating new missions and new stories
- 56:44that that can keep people coming back while keeping it dynamic
- 56:48maybe. Oh no, Zeno threat invaded this
- 56:50place. You know, like you could just
- 56:52spawn different NPCS in there, things like that, You know, I
- 56:56mean like just make it so random and so crazy that it's not like
- 57:02the last thing. It's a whole different story,
- 57:05you know, but it can generate them on the fly, which, yeah,
- 57:09you know, I know it, it does kind of suck.
- 57:11But they but it's only for these types of missions that just
- 57:14repeat and repeat and repeat the main missions, the main stories
- 57:17that are written, you know, they still have their relevance.
- 57:21But every time I go into a bunker, I kind of want, you
- 57:24know, I kind of want something to think about.
- 57:28I just want more missions. I want the missions back that we
- 57:32had before before we start getting into something like that
- 57:36or even approaching something like that, like we need to get
- 57:39what we already had back. Yeah, Oh, it looks like.
- 57:44Maybe more voices? Yeah, I don't want to cut you
- 57:47off their noob, but we do have a guest.
- 57:48We have a new guest, a fresh, fresh meat, so to speak.
- 57:53So we're going to we're going to pull up this new guest here for
- 57:56the end of the show. This guy, what a what a
- 58:01gentleman. Wild card.
- 58:04Welcome to Open Comms Radio, your Star Citizen call in show.
- 58:09Well, thank you so much. Thanks for stopping by.
- 58:12Finn thingy. Say it again, Oboe.
- 58:17What's with that Finn thingy? That's for you, wild card.
- 58:23That's for you. OK, I'm not sure I understand
- 58:28the reference, I'm sorry. It's the ship deck.
- 58:32Oh oh. Really, that's what did it.
- 58:34I'll tell you if you OK. Yeah, kind of guess this is
- 58:37going. To be well, you know, if you put
- 58:39it in terms I can understand then.
- 58:40Absolutely. Fair enough.
- 58:41Fair enough. So what's with it?
- 58:47What are your thoughts about the the ship deck?
- 58:52Well, I really don't have much in the way of those kind of
- 58:57thoughts. I did pick the ship up because
- 59:00it looks interesting and, you know, a sucker, but.
- 59:05Have you flown it? I have not, not yet, no.
- 59:11It was just looking at it and you know, I have the Merlin
- 59:15that's attached to my Connie and I've flown that and, you know,
- 59:19races and different things. And it was a lot of fun.
- 59:22So I had, based on what I saw on the infomercials, I thought that
- 59:27this would be nice and nimble and probably something to play
- 59:30with and, you know, shiny new toys.
- 59:33It's really hard for me to resist.
- 59:36Understandable. But you guys were talking about
- 59:39bunkers earlier and that kind of piqued my interest.
- 59:43All right. And as usual, I like, I
- 59:46apparently come into the tail end of things when you guys are
- 59:48just about wrapping up. But you know, but I, what I
- 59:51found to be interesting in the, in the, in the PTU was that the
- 59:56regular, the regular bunkers have changed like I do a lot of,
- 59:59a lot of Hurston bunkers and they had added rooms and they
- 1:00:05changed things. So there was a little, it was
- 1:00:09different. And then the the layer of
- 1:00:11difficulty was increased dramatically by the sheer amount
- 1:00:15of security forces that were there.
- 1:00:17Like, I mean, at this point you probably don't even have to go
- 1:00:20to the bunker to defend it because they can defend
- 1:00:22ourselves. But the the real challenge is
- 1:00:24going to be not shooting one of the good guys while you're
- 1:00:26there. Yeah.
- 1:00:29You know, I mean, and that it's been it's like a crazy amount.
- 1:00:34Right. If if I shoot a good guy, what
- 1:00:37happens? Is there a?
- 1:00:39Penalty. Yes.
- 1:00:41Well, no, not necessarily because when I've been in some
- 1:00:46of them when they're bugged, you know what I mean?
- 1:00:47Like they all the elevators are occupied by good guys and you
- 1:00:50can go in and and take one, take a good guy down and tracked him
- 1:00:54out of the elevator. So the mission actually goes off
- 1:00:57instead of, you know, just have to abandon it and go to the next
- 1:01:00one. And even if you shoot one of the
- 1:01:03good guys, if you don't kill him, you know, you'll get a, you
- 1:01:07get a crime stat, one or two, depending on how severely you
- 1:01:10injured them. But if you kill them, then
- 1:01:12three, yeah, you're going to jail.
- 1:01:14The whole bunker is going to kill you.
- 1:01:16But I mean are. They really good guys if they're
- 1:01:19hurt them. Well, you know, you pick your
- 1:01:23bunker, it doesn't matter. They all act the same.
- 1:01:26You know, I'm not going to get into the fascist comments and
- 1:01:33the other, the other thing is the yeah, you're going to get,
- 1:01:41I've been in a bunker with a crime stat too, where I had
- 1:01:44injured people in the bunker and the guards didn't shoot at me.
- 1:01:48So I think it's at this juncture, it's only homicide
- 1:01:51that they're going to shoot you for.
- 1:01:53Yeah, crime stats been wonky in live too.
- 1:01:56I've been, I've been like having crime stats on and off and like
- 1:01:59I haven't been clearing them and I don't know, it's, it's been
- 1:02:02kind of weird. I mean, we had the system down.
- 1:02:05What the hell happened? Server.
- 1:02:08Server. I picked him up.
- 1:02:10I picked him. I picked him up randomly, you
- 1:02:13know, just I was in a bunker. I left the bunker, no incidents.
- 1:02:17And all of a sudden, crime's dead too.
- 1:02:21Yeah, yeah, I, I mean, I've had similar experiences.
- 1:02:26With all. That OK so Onyx facilities sound
- 1:02:30pretty pretty pretty cool. I'm actually really looking
- 1:02:35forward to them. 4.3 it looks like is going to drop soon.
- 1:02:41Probably tomorrow. To be tonight, but I believe
- 1:02:45elevators are causing seizures because of course they would.
- 1:02:48Pro don't say elevator. I'm sorry, elevator.
- 1:02:54See what else? And the wolf currently breaks
- 1:02:59reality when you're flying away with it.
- 1:03:03Because yeah, of course it would.
- 1:03:06What do you mean breaks reality? You are still tied to it when
- 1:03:11you leave it, so when you store it, it streams out nothing and
- 1:03:17everything. Yeah, OK.
- 1:03:18I can't deal with that. OK so sorry 4.3 it just come.
- 1:03:25Bends existence or what? What?
- 1:03:27Yeah, something like that, from what I've gathered.
- 1:03:30Did you become a God? No, I think it just like breaks
- 1:03:36servers and breaks you and. We're breaking.
- 1:03:39The skin, you can't go quantum, you can't go that fast with a
- 1:03:42fin sticking out your bottom. Scientifically, physics wise,
- 1:03:46Einstein knew this. Oppenheimer knew this, he said.
- 1:03:50No fins. No.
- 1:03:53No fins on ships. Dicks.
- 1:03:57That's pretty good. That's a pretty good Einstein.
- 1:03:59Yeah. Yeah, I it's Einstein.
- 1:04:04OK, so which means one stone. I don't know.
- 1:04:07Anyway, 4.3 is coming out. We know what's in it.
- 1:04:13We have 4.4 and then 4.5 for the.
- 1:04:17It looks like for the rest of the year we may only get I maybe
- 1:04:21two or three more patches this year, right?
- 1:04:24Because they said they were going to do 10 and I don't think
- 1:04:27they've missed a month yet. Have they missed a month this
- 1:04:29year? I feel like I Invictus was a
- 1:04:32little off, but otherwise no. So we may only get two more
- 1:04:38patches this year. If they said they were going to
- 1:04:40do 10 and they've already done 8 have we had it's has been 8
- 1:04:44patches this would be the 8th. Wow.
- 1:04:48Correct me if I'm wrong, Wiki. You know how to count things.
- 1:04:50You tell me. I don't know.
- 1:04:51Earlier, he didn't seem to know how to count.
- 1:04:53OK, So very quickly we're going to go around, I'll go around to
- 1:05:00each of each one of you. What are what do we think we're
- 1:05:04going to get one of these next two patches by the end of the
- 1:05:09year? What are we looking forward to?
- 1:05:11Hobo your Co host, I'll start with you.
- 1:05:14All right. So I think we will see outside
- 1:05:18of the normal patch cycle, a very broken, very buggy, very
- 1:05:21stripped down base building build.
- 1:05:27You think they're going to base building before engineering?
- 1:05:31Engineering. Yeah, because, because.
- 1:05:37And if this is the cynical part, they can sell base building
- 1:05:39stuff. There it is, there it is.
- 1:05:44Wild. OK, Well, I think that we will
- 1:05:49see engineering. And the reason I think that is
- 1:05:51because if you've been following the the game formerly known as
- 1:05:57jump ship, that's now called space jump, they have the
- 1:06:01rudimentaries of engineering in that game, you know,
- 1:06:05extinguishing fires and changing fuses and that sort of thing,
- 1:06:08components. And I think that, you know, much
- 1:06:12like we see the Valicar appear when Dune arrives, you know, in
- 1:06:19order to keep themselves relevant, I think that Sig will
- 1:06:21probably be pushing engineering before the end of the year.
- 1:06:27I like that. I like your reasoning.
- 1:06:29Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:06:33Murphy, Jack. Murphy, Jack, what do you think?
- 1:06:35We're going to see these next couple of patches before the end
- 1:06:38of the year. 3 letters, one word, Nix.
- 1:06:43Hell yeah, baby. Oh, you're one of those, huh?
- 1:06:46I'm one of those I heard that really hope, I hope with nerf, I
- 1:06:51hope we get it. I don't see why we wouldn't.
- 1:06:55I mean, I, I, well, we're not going to get into the spoilers,
- 1:07:00but. Oh, OK, OK, so.
- 1:07:03This makes sense. OK all.
- 1:07:05Right, it would be a good conclusion to the story.
- 1:07:10That's awesome. I see you all right, you get,
- 1:07:12Oh, that's too much already. That there's a story and they
- 1:07:16could have a conclusion. Clever, Very, very clever.
- 1:07:23Lord Anubis, baby, what are you going to see this year?
- 1:07:29World War Three just before the last week of the year.
- 1:07:33Well, wait, hold on. Talking about Star Citizens
- 1:07:36still. Oh.
- 1:07:38Yeah, I know all. Right.
- 1:07:40We haven't had eugenics. Work yet?
- 1:07:43Yeah, yeah. So I guess it'd be till next
- 1:07:47year. We're still on track with that
- 1:07:48timeline I have. Education though, don't know if
- 1:07:52that's going to happen. Yeah, I don't think so.
- 1:07:56But it can't be 100% correct. Yeah, I, I, I do think a
- 1:08:02rudimentary base building, you know, something like you could
- 1:08:06put a HAB down, you know, we could see that, a test build,
- 1:08:14but honestly, you know, not really seeing too much other
- 1:08:20than that. I mean, I think they're really
- 1:08:22going to be concentrating on like weather and visuals rather
- 1:08:25than gameplay. That's the saddest take I think
- 1:08:30we've gotten. I love snow.
- 1:08:32Yeah, yeah, Snow too. I'm happy it's coming in, don't
- 1:08:36get me wrong. But you know.
- 1:08:39Yeah, you know, we need, we need bases in crafting before we need
- 1:08:43snow. To reach his own with that.
- 1:08:47I I don't agree with Snow, but in the game, yeah.
- 1:08:52Oh, like in, in, Yeah, in real life, I'm not a fan of snow.
- 1:08:56I love looking at it a little bit.
- 1:08:58Someone who lives in LA, what is snow?
- 1:09:03Over there you call it Cocainia. Cocainia.
- 1:09:07Cocainia a little different. Yeah, OK, so they had.
- 1:09:11I've been to LA. You guys got a lot of mirrors, a
- 1:09:13lot of mirrors in that city. Let me tell you, Wicket, next
- 1:09:18couple patches, what do you think you're going to?
- 1:09:21See Vault tears, controversy and a lot of explaining and you
- 1:09:34know, more or less, more of the same what we've seen all year
- 1:09:38and every other year that we've been doing this.
- 1:09:42I'm not too hopeful for the rest of the year, to be quite honest
- 1:09:45with you. Wow.
- 1:09:47Do you think coming in you play, if you play these, this new
- 1:09:50content that Murphy jacking and Hobart talking about, do you
- 1:09:53think it'll turn you around? Think you'll turn that frown
- 1:09:55upside down if you really enjoy it?
- 1:09:59Doubtful, but I don't know man. It's just, I just have no, my
- 1:10:06enthusiasm for, for SC has just kind of the, the balloon, the,
- 1:10:11the, the, the air's gone out of the balloon.
- 1:10:13Man, they'd really have to, you know, they'd really have to
- 1:10:19bring something really awesome and new and, and something
- 1:10:23really attractive to me and my gaming experience that I'd want
- 1:10:27to take part in to, to get me to be excited and to get back into
- 1:10:32it. I mean, the only thing I do for
- 1:10:34these, these, these joysticks anymore is dust them.
- 1:10:38That's about it. Well, dust in your joystick is
- 1:10:42doesn't mean what I think you it.
- 1:10:45It means that too. It means that as well.
- 1:10:50But yeah, I mean, you know, I was super, super hopeful, but
- 1:10:54everything I've seen so far, it's it's, it's just been 1 long
- 1:10:59disappointment after another. I mean, I'm, I, I hate to be a
- 1:11:02Debbie Downer, but I'm, I'm just not.
- 1:11:05I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just not seeing it.
- 1:11:07I'm hopeful for things to be better, but I'm just not seeing
- 1:11:11the results. But the Sonics facilities
- 1:11:14though, man, those things are amazing.
- 1:11:17They are. Once the game goes live after a
- 1:11:20couple of days, I'll get into it and see.
- 1:11:24All right. And who?
- 1:11:24Who here has finished their resource drive about?
- 1:11:28Halfway. Down a little over halfway, I.
- 1:11:31Haven't even started, don't even care.
- 1:11:34Hurston. Interesting.
- 1:11:36Hurston. I I haven't finished it either,
- 1:11:39but I was pretty pissed off about the the IS well ISC or
- 1:11:43whatever, the gaslighting about the elevators.
- 1:11:47Jared's apology episode. Yeah, total.
- 1:11:52Oh for, you know, like one in 1000 people.
- 1:11:54Like, shut up, dude. One in 1000 people.
- 1:11:59Oh so rare we couldn't really track it.
- 1:12:01Shut up. You know what he said.
- 1:12:05It is what he said. They turned it out and they
- 1:12:09they, they framed it as they minimized it and it said it
- 1:12:13looked like it was so rare. That's.
- 1:12:15What he heard. It acted like it was so rare
- 1:12:20that, you know, they, they, they couldn't have really seen this
- 1:12:23coming. Yeah, but people were saying it
- 1:12:26was going to happen on the PTU and, and cargo elevators have
- 1:12:28always been an issue. You know, and that's the thing.
- 1:12:31It's like it's always been an issue to base an entire event on
- 1:12:38cargo elevators and then act like, well, we didn't know they
- 1:12:41were going to break. And, and, and we just, we need
- 1:12:44that much more data because it's so rare.
- 1:12:46We haven't really seen it. Come on, come on.
- 1:12:49They they knew. Yeah, they knew.
- 1:12:53There's no way they didn't know. They just didn't really care.
- 1:12:56Yeah, and I think, I think that's what hurts the most.
- 1:12:59Yeah. I know I don't think we watched
- 1:13:02the same episode but OK. It is very dude.
- 1:13:05So I, I, and thank you everyone. Yesterday we didn't record the
- 1:13:09show. I had LASIK surgery.
- 1:13:12And if you want to talk about lies when you have that surgery
- 1:13:17and they tell you, Oh yeah, you'll be fine.
- 1:13:19Like 4 to 5 hours after it, you'll be able to like go on, go
- 1:13:22on your computer and stuff. Total lies.
- 1:13:26First of all, I'm a vampire. Can't any light was so damaging.
- 1:13:30But second of all, my eyes were completely swollen shut and I
- 1:13:34was just crying the whole the whole time afterward.
- 1:13:37Now I'm now I'm fine. But they really played down the
- 1:13:41Yeah, the Speaking of playing down, it really played down the
- 1:13:45the symptoms. Dude, I can see things.
- 1:13:49Yeah, it's wild. Dude.
- 1:13:51All I had to do was swipe my credit card and let someone beam
- 1:13:55into my eye. He blasted my eye.
- 1:13:59I mean if you want to talk about sci-fi dude, this experience.
- 1:14:02First of all, every tool in these in this place I went to
- 1:14:07looked like it was a 1950s version of the future.
- 1:14:15There were, there were rings of red light that I like had to
- 1:14:19stare into. There were small little
- 1:14:21computers that made little like like noises and stuff.
- 1:14:26And they're like follow the light and everything looked like
- 1:14:31like tricolour, like everything I'm looking at was like, you
- 1:14:34know, when they first had like colour TV's and stuff and they
- 1:14:37were like tricolour TV. And they had like the old
- 1:14:41footage or those those old maybe in like the Bond movies how you
- 1:14:44have those multi colored like circles pan across the screen
- 1:14:49like everything looked like that.
- 1:14:51And then you go into a room and he shoots a laser into your eye.
- 1:14:55He. Just walks up his hair.
- 1:14:58Look. And of course my my doctor was
- 1:15:01Eastern European as well. We have a lot we.
- 1:15:05Can do a lot. We can do a lot.
- 1:15:07That's this is cool. Yes.
- 1:15:09It's like, do you have any questions?
- 1:15:12Any laser company? Yeah, that worked.
- 1:15:16Really. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:18Just the Roadrunner and Wally Coyote did the Sir.
- 1:15:21It is. It is, yeah.
- 1:15:25So if you, if you do ever get that, the and the five hours
- 1:15:28after it are actually going to be pretty painful.
- 1:15:31They play that down, so you just try to knock yourself out, but
- 1:15:35they say like, don't rub your eyes, don't touch your eyes,
- 1:15:37don't rub your eyes. And then they give you eye
- 1:15:39drops. The eye drops make your eyes
- 1:15:42itch like crazy. So it's a little sadistic.
- 1:15:46Did you? Get like a You think they just
- 1:15:48did that just to do it you? Had the cone of shame.
- 1:15:54I have. I have these these terrible
- 1:15:57sunglasses on all the time. I'm wearing them right now.
- 1:15:59It's night time. Oh, you wear sunglasses at
- 1:16:02night, huh? I'm just.
- 1:16:03Picturing you in a dog cone of shame.
- 1:16:06Yeah, yeah, yeah. That would be kind of funny, but
- 1:16:08I had a friend of mine who had that Slavic surgery and he had
- 1:16:12he ever since he's had it, he's had migraines consistently.
- 1:16:17Yeah. Oh wow.
- 1:16:18Never had them before. Dude don't do this to me.
- 1:16:21I hope not. I haven't had any migraines yet,
- 1:16:24so. Well they also have the new
- 1:16:27thing busy and ICL where where they basically they take a
- 1:16:32contact lens and like sew it to your eye.
- 1:16:35What? Dad has that.
- 1:16:40Think about that one. Yeah, when it's new.
- 1:16:42They slice off like your the the top of your eye and they sew a
- 1:16:47new lens on top my. My dad did that like 20 years
- 1:16:51ago though. Yeah, well, yeah, it's been
- 1:16:52around forever. But when then when you look at
- 1:16:56somebody who has that, they have this, this twinkle in their eye
- 1:16:59all the time. They're a twinkle on their.
- 1:17:07Eye just just thinking of a twinkle, like like good, like an
- 1:17:09old Disney movie, you know? Literally the the light will
- 1:17:13reflect off of their eye in a certain.
- 1:17:15It looks like a twinkle. Man my mom had it too before she
- 1:17:18passed and it was weird but I mean it helps their vision.
- 1:17:23It's for cataracts. Yeah, hum the Disney.
- 1:17:28Song but the copyright bots will kill us.
- 1:17:34There's copyright bots. Twitch.
- 1:17:38Oh man. Oh yeah, we get, I get
- 1:17:43copyrights every time I put a like a trailer in.
- 1:17:47Like the last episode I put the Superman trailer in.
- 1:17:50In a world right? It's OK, but it's a trailer so
- 1:17:53you can use. It imitate trailers.
- 1:17:57One man gets a copyright strike. Have have have any of you guys
- 1:18:02watched the the new alien Earth? Yes.
- 1:18:06Yes, OK, I watched the first episode, which was excellent.
- 1:18:13It was pretty good. And it's I'm like, oh God, not
- 1:18:19again. It's it's after that it's no
- 1:18:23good in my mind. I don't know.
- 1:18:24If you I don't know what you're talking.
- 1:18:27It's it's kind of dumb. It's.
- 1:18:32Derivative all. No, no.
- 1:18:36No, it's it's, it's a prequel to the Alien franchise.
- 1:18:40Oof. All right, hold up, hold up.
- 1:18:44Can I just say I don't need any more prequel?
- 1:18:46Thank you for anything. An alien, none of that shit
- 1:18:52really even matters cause like the movies skip hundreds of
- 1:18:55years between them. So it really doesn't matter.
- 1:18:58But the, the core of like alien is that grab for power, you
- 1:19:06know, that corporate grab for power.
- 1:19:07And then there is they they actually introduced that in a
- 1:19:11new and interesting way that isn't repeated, you know, like,
- 1:19:15like it, it, it, it, it, it it's kind of cool, you know, and you
- 1:19:21know, obviously in the story you see this in the trailer is that,
- 1:19:25you know, you get this kid and they put her into A to an adult
- 1:19:30body and that. Go into spoilers now.
- 1:19:34That isn't really a spoiler, but it's in the trailer.
- 1:19:36But I mean, it's, it's one of those things that that
- 1:19:39introduces an interesting element to it that I actually
- 1:19:42really like. They nailed the damn aesthetic.
- 1:19:46Like it looks, it looks like the, you know, the 70s or it
- 1:19:51looks like 1980 when you know, I mean, it looks good.
- 1:19:55It looks, it looks like alien. And, and I, and I think that
- 1:20:00they've, they've introduced some interesting things to it that
- 1:20:05that is fresh and, and it, and it can go in a lot of, in a lot
- 1:20:10of ways, but I think that for the 1st 2 episodes that it, it,
- 1:20:14it's really good. All right, sounds good to me.
- 1:20:19So what we're going to do is we're coming up on the end of
- 1:20:21the show here. Wild Card.
- 1:20:22I don't know if you know that at the end of every episode, we
- 1:20:25just go around and I ask everyone if they have something
- 1:20:28that they'd like to say to Chris Roberts, CIG or the people on
- 1:20:32the Internet. And so Wild, you are our our
- 1:20:36last guest. We're going to go backwards this
- 1:20:38time. So, Wild Card, is there anything
- 1:20:40you want to say to CIG Chris Roberts with people on the
- 1:20:43Internet? Yeah, a long time fan, been
- 1:20:46playing Chris Roberts game since Wing Commander 1 and I have
- 1:20:50haven't missed a single one. And I know that you know the I'm
- 1:20:57greatly looking forward to Square and 42 and I've been
- 1:21:01enjoying spending time with you guys in Star Cities.
- 1:21:09Thank you. Very good, very good.
- 1:21:13Who do we have here? We're going backwards.
- 1:21:15I think it was Murphy Jack. Murphy, Jack, Anything you want
- 1:21:17to say to CIG, Chris Roberts or the people on?
- 1:21:21Internet is the keep working on this story.
- 1:21:25You got something here for sure. Neat.
- 1:21:31All right, Lord Anubis, anything you want to say to CIG, Chris
- 1:21:36Roberts or the people on the Internet?
- 1:21:38Yes, First to CIG. You knew the thing about the
- 1:21:43elevators. Come on, stop.
- 1:21:47Just just just work on this, you know, listen to people, to Chris
- 1:21:51Roberts. Yeah, keep selling chips.
- 1:21:54That's fine. Just give us something to care
- 1:21:56about in the game that is ours, that we can build upon, that we
- 1:21:59can care about and that we can trade with.
- 1:22:02And that's really what's going to keep this game going for the
- 1:22:07next 10 years and fellowships, that's fine.
- 1:22:11Just make them available in Game 2.
- 1:22:12That's it. And for the people on the
- 1:22:14Internet, well, there's there's like one person that's not us
- 1:22:20listening. So I.
- 1:22:23Could be that bad. I'll I'll I'll have you know we
- 1:22:25have a handful of listeners. We have a solid handful of
- 1:22:32regular listeners now, so you, you're, you're.
- 1:22:37One hand, one hand. You're popular if you if you.
- 1:22:42It's a good handful though, that one.
- 1:22:43It's a good handful, yeah. It's got enough in it, yeah.
- 1:22:47Yeah, I better pull them. All right, wicked, anything you
- 1:22:51want to see to CIG, Chris Roberts or the people on your
- 1:22:53net? Sandy, Chris, Sandy.
- 1:22:59Hold em. Hold em to account.
- 1:23:00Hold Chris Roberts to account. And both of you work really,
- 1:23:04really hard to prove me wrong. I dare you.
- 1:23:10Love it, love it, love it. All right, Cosmic Hoba, you are
- 1:23:13the Co host. I think before we end the show,
- 1:23:15we forgot about our special announcement.
- 1:23:16We're supposed to do it in the beginning of the episode.
- 1:23:19Oh yeah, so Open Comms is going to have an in person live show
- 1:23:26at the upcoming DC Bar Citizen live stream for Citizen Citizen
- 1:23:32Con Direct. Awesome.
- 1:23:36The plan so far I believe is a pre show and a post show,
- 1:23:41although you're going to be competing with Jared probably
- 1:23:43for time for that pre show. Oh is Jared also doing a pre
- 1:23:48show? Maybe.
- 1:23:50I I, I Yeah, I know it's a maybe yeah.
- 1:23:55I spoke to Tyler about Oh yeah, CI GS coming too.
- 1:23:59That was that hardware. And I was speaking to Tyler
- 1:24:03about it and asked him about a pre show and he didn't he wasn't
- 1:24:06quite sure yet if Jared and he I mean there's a high chance that
- 1:24:11Jared just going to vamp for like 30 minutes ahead of time.
- 1:24:14So he. Finished the new ship.
- 1:24:18He's just going to probably hurt himself and trip and fall again.
- 1:24:22And he's going to get some very subdued, laid back dev to
- 1:24:24explain the art behind the ship and how it's revolutionary and
- 1:24:28how it's an inspiration. Maybe Jonas Jonas.
- 1:24:35Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:38Yeah, we'll get we'll get Jonas on on next episode next week.
- 1:24:42So Oprah comms are back to the the weekly episodes Cosmic.
- 1:24:48You did it buddy. Yeah, that, that, that was here.
- 1:24:52Thank you for Co hosting today. Hopefully we'll have TAEV back
- 1:24:56sooner rather than later. I don't know exactly when it's
- 1:24:58coming back and unlike CIGI am not going to promise a time I'm
- 1:25:03not certain of so. But we'll be back next week.
- 1:25:06We're going to keep it going weekly here on Open Comms Radio
- 1:25:11Cosmic Hobo. Thank you for Co hosting today.
- 1:25:13Why don't you play us out? Oh, trying to think of any
- 1:25:18copyrighted. Songs.
