- 1:00SPEAKER_08: I think I just found our uh our what we're taking quotes from.
- 1:04SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:04SPEAKER_08: Major pain.
- 1:06SPEAKER_07: My little patch of brussels sprats.
- 1:08SPEAKER_07: Uproot yourself.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Sensitive.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: My daughter uses that now.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: My 12-year-old.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: I showed her Major Pain last year.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: And every once in a while I'll freak out about something.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: She'll be like, Sensitive.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: It's like, oh no, I've created.
- 1:21SPEAKER_07: I read an article about that movie that how many uh Marines love that movie.
- 1:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_07: Just because it's like it's like what real what what you actually what drill instructors and stuff like that actually say.
- 1:35SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: But it's it's amped up to about 10, you know what I mean?
- 1:39SPEAKER_07: Just for comedic value.
- 1:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:41SPEAKER_07: But it it's really the insulting and the you know the the the yeah that that's why I love that movie so much, because I because I could just like see guys that would say stuff like that, you know, from my past.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: That movie is classic.
- 1:55SPEAKER_07: I love that movie so much.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Classic.
- 1:57SPEAKER_07: Um how you doing?
- 1:59SPEAKER_07: Great.
- 1:59SPEAKER_07: I went down a weird rabbit hole today on YouTube.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:04SPEAKER_07: Disney adults.
- 2:05SPEAKER_07: Have you heard of this trend?
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: No.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: There are adults that like Oh, well, I know a few of them.
- 2:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_07: Well, I mean, these these people are like certifiably insane.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: This is this is like you were into Disney as a kid and and it never went away.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: And you're even more into Disney now.
- 2:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, they like spend like thousands of dollars.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Thousands.
- 2:26SPEAKER_07: Thousands of dollars.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:27SPEAKER_07: Some of them.
- 2:28SPEAKER_07: There was one lady, she made her husband move to Orlando so she could go to the park every day.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's just she like buys a pass.
- 2:36SPEAKER_07: So she literally goes every day.
- 2:37SPEAKER_07: She has three kids.
- 2:39SPEAKER_07: One's in school, two are not.
- 2:40SPEAKER_07: So she takes every day, she takes the two younger kids to Disney while the other kid.
- 2:46SPEAKER_07: I would be mad if I was that one kid going to school.
- 2:48SPEAKER_07: He's like, I'd be like, what the frig?
- 2:50SPEAKER_07: I'm in school and you're taking, you know, them to freaking Disney every day.
- 2:54SPEAKER_07: Dude, he's probably over it by now.
- 2:56SPEAKER_07: Probably.
- 2:56SPEAKER_07: He's probably sick of it.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, that's a mental illness.
- 3:00SPEAKER_07: It's a real problem.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: It really is.
- 3:02SPEAKER_07: I just can't believe how expensive it is.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: There I know.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Well, there are there's people around here that I know there's one lady that drives a van that says something about ask me about uh you know, she like books Disney trips for people.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: So she's like a like a Is that a thing now?
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Like um a a liaison between the families and Disney and so she likes works for Mickey, basically.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, basically.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: And you can you can go through her and she'll she'll create your package and and blah blah blah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: And which is I meant I guess it's a job, but she's obviously really into Disney and she's like, how can I how can I, you know, keep doing this and stay in the Disney, you know, one foot and you know.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: So there are people that take it really seriously.
- 3:51SPEAKER_07: Well, there was one I saw one a video of one lady.
- 3:53SPEAKER_07: She, you know, those Disney bands they they send you, and you get like access to things.
- 3:58SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah, I guess so.
- 3:59SPEAKER_14: I guess so, yeah.
- 4:00SPEAKER_07: She took the chip out of one and implanted it, surgically implanted it into her hand.
- 4:05SPEAKER_07: I was like, that's Mark of the Beast, that's Revelation type.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Straight out of the Bible.
- 4:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_07: I was like, what the frick?
- 4:12SPEAKER_07: So basically, Mickey Mouse is the Antichrist.
- 4:16unknown: Yeah.
- 4:17SPEAKER_12: Hey, what are everybody talking about?
- 4:19SPEAKER_12: Hey, it's the end of the world.
- 4:24SPEAKER_07: Man, that's that's that's terrifying.
- 4:28SPEAKER_07: That's more terrifying than any like, you know, like evil, like Satan type person.
- 4:33SPEAKER_12: You imagine, man, be the end times, you know, like here comes the antichrist.
- 4:39SPEAKER_12: You're all gonna die.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: And then Goofy over in the back of the hoop, you'll dead.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: They think Disney is the devil.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Uh, yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_07: Speaking of uh, you know I think we found the uh title of the podcast.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: Disney is the devil.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: No, Mickey is the antichrist.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I don't want a lawsuit.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: I don't want a Disney lawsuit.
- 5:22SPEAKER_07: That'd be funny.
- 5:24SPEAKER_07: That would make Brown Buzz Sprout uh take notice.
- 5:27SPEAKER_07: Yeah, right.
- 5:28SPEAKER_07: Hey! Wait, who are these guys?
- 5:29SPEAKER_12: Who's these guys?
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Why are we getting sued by Disney?
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: Maybe we should listen to these guys.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Um so speaking of roller coaster rides, uh school's out.
- 5:40SPEAKER_13: Yay! Yay.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Yesterday was my final day.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Um we had a I had a finals session at the high school.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: Friday was the final day for elementary.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: Um we had in-service on Monday.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: And so yeah, it's uh officially as of as of today.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: I'm on summer vacation, summer break.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Uh which just means that I need to start on cleaning the basement as soon as possible.
- 6:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's uh because I have a goal.
- 6:13SPEAKER_07: That's the goal for the summer.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: My goal is to get the basement clean.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: This is never gonna happen.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: Get the basement uh cleaned out so that my wife can move her stuff down here by the end of June.
- 6:29unknown: I don't know.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: It won't happen.
- 6:31SPEAKER_07: It's not gonna happen.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: That's that's uh already in the middle of June.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: If I start tomorrow, you know, tomorrow is what, the 17th?
- 6:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Uh if I start tomorrow, of course, you know, Meyer's got a dentist appointment in the afternoon.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: I have a scholarship dinner to go to in the evening.
- 6:51SPEAKER_07: Scholarship dinner for Eli.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: County Federal Scholarship.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Uh Eli, by the way, is uh, as we speak, at a concert.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: His first uh it's hard to it's I shouldn't say this, but he's 18 years old and he's never driven downstate by himself.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: You know, he took my car down to Bangor, um, made it fine, and I don't know why he wouldn't.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: But he's never, you know, the concert traffic is gonna be interesting after the concert.
- 7:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:19SPEAKER_09: It's gonna be interesting.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: You know, um and I think he drove them to the concert in my car.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: So he's gonna have to drive in that mess after that.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Good luck with that.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: But um so yeah, he he drove down by himself and and is fine, everything's you know.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: I think we created a monster because I know he's gonna want to go to do it again.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: But he's gonna get used to it, you know.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: Um what was I saying?
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, so Eli has a scholarship dinner on uh went uh tomorrow night.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: And uh uh Jude's birthday is Thursday.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: So we're having a party for him Thursday night.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: So you and I are playing on Saturday.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Uh uh, you know, so if I start tomorrow and nothing gets in the way, but then all these things are in the way.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: I could probably clean for five, six hours tomorrow.
- 8:13SPEAKER_07: Sure.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: And then, you know see see where that gets me.
- 8:17SPEAKER_07: Um probably Now when you say the whole basement are you when you say the basement, are you saying the whole basement or just this this this portion of the Well no the whole basement because I need to have a place to put all this stuff.
- 8:27SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 8:28SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: So I have to start over there.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Um we took out the stairs, I think you remember that.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: We took out the stairs, so I need to clean up back there and move that bench and just toss a bunch of stuff and make room and and throw stuff out that doesn't that we don't need, you know, things like that.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: But there's a lot of crap over there.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: So I just once I can clear a space, once I can see the floor, um, I'll be happy.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: And I can I can start in here.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: You know, start moving stuff over there and give her uh space down here to uh to have her stuff.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: So we'll see.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't know that it's gonna happen by the end of June, but that is my goal, and it's always good to have goals.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Uh and I will uh I will work away at it.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: She has no faith in me whatsoever.
- 9:20SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Um just because I'm like your typical husband where yeah, yeah, I'll get that done, I'll do that, and it just never happens.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Um that's one thing, you know.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: I'm the type of person, and maybe you're like this um that if I have a big project, well, number one, if I see a big tr project like this, I go down there and I look at it like, where the hell do I start?
- 9:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: You know, and and if I start uh I I don't want to stop.
- 9:49SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: You know, so like I get on a roll, like she'll come to me.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Like yesterday, I was working on um school stuff uh in the bedroom and I'm on the computer and I'm I got like uh my first few weeks of lesson plans for September done.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: My goal for that also is to is to get from September to December done so that I don't have to worry about it.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: Um so I was working on that.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: She's like, You want to go for a walk?
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, I'm I'm on a roll.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: I don't want to walk away from this.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: But right?
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: And so that's the thing about cleaning the basement.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: It's like when I get started, if I can find a place to start, don't bother me.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: Just leave.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: You know, yes, just let me get on a roll.
- 10:34SPEAKER_02: But then of course, you know, I'll work for five hours or whatever, and I won't want to stop, but I have to.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: And then I get the have to find the motivation to get back to it the next day.
- 10:44SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: So it's just, you know, it's just it's a whole thing.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: It's a whole thing.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: But my I think it's a I think it's it's definitely an accomplishable goal to get the basement at least partially cleaned and this this side cleaned out by the end of June.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: I think that's possible.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Uh probable, no.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: But possible, yes.
- 11:04SPEAKER_07: By the time you go back to school, I could see it being done.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: September.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, August August.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: August.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Middle of August.
- 11:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:13SPEAKER_07: I could I could see it if you, you know.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Pick away at it.
- 11:17SPEAKER_07: Pick away at it.
- 11:18SPEAKER_07: It it that it could be done.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:20SPEAKER_07: Easily.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:21SPEAKER_07: I mean, that's two months.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:23SPEAKER_07: So yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: But then I start getting into school mode.
- 11:27SPEAKER_07: We got, you know, well, then we got, you know, gigs and this, that's the other thing.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: So Yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: And well, that's another thing too.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: We do we do have gigs coming up, which I have to play guitar for, like before we play the gig because I don't remember half the stuff.
- 11:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: So I'll have to you know, woodshit that stuff, but I don't know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: It's it's it's a process.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: We'll figure it out and I have good intentions.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: So I want to get her down here.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: I want to get this I want to get this side cleaned out and get her stuff down here.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: And uh maybe we'll have to record the podcast at KMH or something like you said.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: Maybe that that's where we do it.
- 12:06SPEAKER_09: That'd be fun.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't it?
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Um We've done it before.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: We have.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: We have?
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: At KMH?
- 12:12SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're right, we did.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: But I don't what what was it for?
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Was it just because?
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: I think we're interviewing Chris.
- 12:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah, maybe that's what it is.
- 12:21SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: I remember doing that now that you say that.
- 12:23SPEAKER_07: We brought the thing and some mics and it's all doable.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: It was good.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: It was good.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Alright, uh, what else is going on?
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Anything?
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: Uh still riding high on the uh oh here here this is gonna you know not surprise you but depress you.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: So today in our finals period, we had 90 minutes of a final, and I don't give a final in chorus.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: I had probably um seven students show up.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Um because you know, some of them are they're underclassmen and they don't have rides.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: So they have to take the bus or whatever.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: So I had probably seven or so uh students and they're like, what are we gonna do?
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't know.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: What do you want to do?
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: You know, and some of them wanted to do karaoke.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: We did a few karaoke things, and then when that uh ran its course, shall we say, um, I said, Do you want to hear why Mr.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: Moj has been on a musical high for the past week or week and a half?
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sure.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Have you ever heard of the band Rush?
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: Raise your hand if you've heard of the band Rush.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Um one hand goes up almost.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: And she's like Alright, well let me tell you a story.
- 13:44SPEAKER_07: Let me tell you something.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: So I talked about the band and and um how they had the greatest drummer ever, and basically, you know what we talked about on the podcast.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: You know, and and uh uh Annika uh Niles' contribution and and so I played them you know the first part of the the debut concert.
- 14:03SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: And and then I played them Tom Sawyer and they're like, wait.
- 14:06SPEAKER_08: I think I know this song.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: They were uh not paying attention whatsoever.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: They were doing their own thing.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Of course they were.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: So but I enjoyed the concert, so it's nice.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: That's all that matters.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: We only we didn't watch a lot of it, but I just um I un unloaded on them a little bit.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: So yeah, this is why Mr.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: Mojer is just so energized right now, musically.
- 14:29SPEAKER_08: Okay, okay, Mr.
- 14:30SPEAKER_08: Mojer.
- 14:32SPEAKER_08: Whatever you say, man.
- 14:33SPEAKER_08: No tailor swim.
- 14:34SPEAKER_08: Yeah, right.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: You'll suck.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Um okay, so we have a couple of things that we could talk about.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Um we always do the new music releases for the next month, month month coming up.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Get out.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: And uh we do have a list of those.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Some of them we've already talked about, some of them we have only talked about uh briefly.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: Some of them we've heard music from.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: Um the first one we have, uh, and it was very predictable, I guess, but good.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: I mean, if you if you like Deep Purple, Deep Purple's new album is called Splat.
- 15:12SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: And that comes out July 3rd.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: Uh we heard a song on there called Arrogant Boy, and it was very deep purple.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: It was very surprising.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: Very much so.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Um let's see, and we we try and uh we we s we stay away from re-releases, reissues if we can, unless it's like glaring, uh like a a band that we love.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Or live music.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: We we try not to do that as uh either.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Um but most everything else on July 3rd besides Deep Purple is box sets, reissues, and live uh from Grateful Dead, LA Guns, Glenn Hughes, Motorhead, Status Quo, uh Tangerine Dream, um lots of other things.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Uh July 10th, uh Adam Lambert, who is the um I guess the de facto lead singer of Queen.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: He's got a new solo album coming out called Adam.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Didn't say that coming.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: All capital letters.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Adam.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: Like yeah, that's original.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Uh that is coming out July 10th.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: Uh, an expanded edition.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: I will say, I will say this because I don't know that we uh Alice Cooper's latest album, Along Came a Spider, with uh Ozzy Osborne and Slash.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: They're releasing an expanded remastered digital compact disc and two LP reissues.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: Um I think that was his latest album, wasn't it?
- 16:42SPEAKER_07: Didn't that just come out like last year?
- 16:43SPEAKER_07: I thought so.
- 16:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: Um let's see, Doobie Brothers have a reissue coming out.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: Howard Jones box set.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Uh oh, Jack White has a new album called Frozen Charlotte.

- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: Um there's a new album called Unbridled coming out.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Actually, if you like that type of stuff, and I do, I love Survivor and and just melodic rock like that.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: I'm just curious.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Let's see if there's a uh a clip or anything.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: There is an official music video for it.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, there we go.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: So let me just uh preview this because we can.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: Um this is Jim Pedric's group.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: No, it's not.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: Um let's skip that.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's uh Toby Hitchcock.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: Who is actually I think it's the legendary singer in this kind of genre of music.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Um they share leave vocal duties.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: So anyway, Jim Peterick is responsible for like the songwriting of Survivor, which is very melodic rock, you know, straightforward stuff.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: And uh I I think that's actually him singing Vehicle, The Ides of March.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: I think that's his him singing it.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: Anyway, um so Pride of Lions, which is his latest group.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: They've been around for a little while, actually.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Unbridled is the new album that comes out July 10th.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Rolling Stone's new album, Foreign Tongues, also comes out July 10th.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Um, more reissues and box sets.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: Um we listened to this one, right?
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: What'd you do?
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: I was just sitting here.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: That light was destined to fall down.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: I think the book book is what uh what made it fall.
- 21:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but nothing was touched.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: Well, the book was falling.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, was it?
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's what it was.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: Uh we listened to this song, didn't we?
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: In the Stars?
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Did we?
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: Uh Rolling Stone.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: Which was good.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Which we liked, yeah.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: We liked, yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_07: Uh there was another one we didn't care for.
- 21:26SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: July 17th, Foreigners' new album, The Eye of the Storm.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Uh, comes out.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: More reissues, reissues.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Um Tesla Homage.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: That's a reissue.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, no, that's the new one.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: It's well, it says it's the cover album.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Digital Compact Disney and two LP vinyl editions.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Uh when's that?
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: That comes out July 17th.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 21:55SPEAKER_07: I want to get that.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: Um, and the rest of those are reissues or box sets.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: July twenty.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: More reissues.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: Yep, that's it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Um Goo dolls.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: That's a col that's a greatest hits collection, I think.
- 22:14SPEAKER_07: Ooh, Iconic is coming out.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: Yes, I'll get to that in a second.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: July 31st.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: Collective soul.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Touch and go.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: There's a reissue from Chris Caffrey.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: Dead Kennedy's reissue.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: Um more greatest hits.
- 22:34SPEAKER_02: But yes.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Iconic, which is a super group.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Uh Michael Sweet of Striper, Joel Hoekstra, who has played with everybody from Whitesnake to Night Ranger to uh Trans Siberian Orchestra.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Uh Tommy Aldridge, a great drummer, uh most popularly known uh as Whitesnake.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: Skeletor.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: White Whitesnake's drummer.
- 22:58SPEAKER_07: Uh he's been in He-Man times.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: And Marco Mendoza on bass, who's also been in Whitesnake.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: Anyway, they have a band called Iconic.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Uh who was the lead singer?
- 23:10SPEAKER_07: Some something just like Swedish guy or Norwegian guy.
- 23:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, from uh Viking.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: From yeah, from uh Greenland.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Iceland.
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think of the band that he's in.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: The North Pole.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Um He's a Santa.
- 23:25SPEAKER_07: He's in another band.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: Shoot.
- 23:27SPEAKER_07: Well that's on Frontier, I know.
- 23:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it is on Frontiers.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: And it's pretty good.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're pretty good.
- 23:32SPEAKER_07: They're like uh like they're like, like I said, Norwegian metal or something except not as dark.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: He's the lead singer.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Uh Michael Sweet is not the lead singer.
- 23:42SPEAKER_07: No, he's not.
- 23:42SPEAKER_07: I wonder if he does do they they must they they do like, you know, like I mean Michael Sweet, of course, is like one of the greatest one of the great singers.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but he's also a great guitar player.
- 23:52SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so that's his main role in this band.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: But this is Iconic 2.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: I think this is the song is called Iconic.
- 24:06SPEAKER_07: No, it says Cry No More.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: I think this song is called Cry No More.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: That's all I said.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: I love the dual guitar stuff.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's no.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think it's good.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: It's good stuff.
- 25:35SPEAKER_07: Well, the first album was really good.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, it was.
- 25:37SPEAKER_07: I liked it a lot.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: The only thing I didn't like about the first album was every song started the same.
- 25:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: Every song was and it goes into the song.
- 25:46SPEAKER_07: Well, they gotta give Skeletor something.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Um so Frontiers Records, I am I'm thankful for Frontiers Records.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: Uh on the one hand, because Yeah, uh they're keeping this music alive.
- 25:59SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Um just hard meloc melodic rock like this.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Um it's really one of the only places to find it is on Frontiers Records.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: Um what I don't like about it is Eddie Trunk talks about this stuff all the time, and he's but he's right.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: Is a band like this, when you put them together and they make great music, they're not gonna tour.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: No.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: They all have their own things.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: And they're not you won't see this band live.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: Um it's a it's a studio project, and yes, it keeps the music alive and it's great music, but you're never gonna get to see them play it.
- 26:37SPEAKER_14: No.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Um But I'm okay with that.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: You might see Stryper play one song from Iconics album.
- 26:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, sure, yeah.
- 26:42SPEAKER_02: Or you might see, you know, uh Joel Hoxer's band play something from this album here and there.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: But uh and that's the same thing with like Black Swan.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: You know, they they don't do a concert.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: No, they don't play.
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: They it's just a s it's a studio creation.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: They got a new album coming out.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:00SPEAKER_07: Is it this summer?
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 27:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 27:02SPEAKER_07: Well, I unless it's already out.
- 27:03SPEAKER_07: Might be, I don't check it.
- 27:05SPEAKER_07: But uh Frontier Records to me is like half retirement home, half sweatshop.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 27:14SPEAKER_07: Well, you know, it's like all these old rockers don't really have a record deal anywhere else, so they're like, hey, come on in.
- 27:20SPEAKER_07: We'll we'll give you a place to play.
- 27:23SPEAKER_07: Put out these albums, we'll give you five bucks and some jello.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: I d they can't be making a lot of money from like record sales.
- 27:33SPEAKER_07: Because Gen X is the only one that's really buying these out there.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: It's true.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: So uh there are there are young bands on Frontiers Records.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, but you're But you don't hear about them.
- 27:43SPEAKER_07: No, you don't unless it's from we don't want to really don't care about the new bands.
- 27:49SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 27:50SPEAKER_07: We're like, we see we these oh oh it's Tommy Aldridge and it's Joe Olkstar, it's Michael Sweet, you know.
- 27:55SPEAKER_07: We're like, oh yeah, hey, we got this other band.
- 27:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah, who cares?
- 27:58SPEAKER_07: You know, you know, we know what we like.
- 28:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, exactly.
- 28:02SPEAKER_07: I mean, you know, I mean, if they pandered to us, they'll be okay.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: But they do whatever.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: Um that leads me to an idea that Bounce and Bob had.
- 28:11SPEAKER_07: A retirement home slash wet song for old rockers.
- 28:14SPEAKER_07: No.
- 28:14SPEAKER_07: I like it.
- 28:15SPEAKER_07: How about board?
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you about that in a second when we get when we get to uh the Smasher Thr or trash thing.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Uh so anyway, Iconic um comes out July.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: I Iconic 2 comes out July 31st.
- 28:28SPEAKER_07: First, I'm looking forward to that actually.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: Now, if we go uh August and beyond, these are there's no definite date for these, but these are are uh slated for release um this year.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see, anything worth it?
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: Well, it's all worth it, right?
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: It's all worth it.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: No, it's not.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: It's not really.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Is it really?
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: It's not.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Um Anthrax.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, the new anthrax album.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: Cursum Perficio.
- 28:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: Uh Digital CD Black or Purple Zotrope 2 LP vinyl editions.
- 29:02SPEAKER_07: When's that coming out?
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: It's it doesn't have a date.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: It's August.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: But it's August.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: It's coming out this year.
- 29:06SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 29:06SPEAKER_07: I'm looking forward to it.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, we we heard it's for the kids, right?
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we did.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 29:15SPEAKER_07: Good song.
- 29:15SPEAKER_07: Um that's all because the rest of the side.
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: Remember when we went down that rabbit hole, that Danny Spitz rabbit hole, because we saw the lead drill, who the heck's that guy?
- 29:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 29:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Um all right, let's get to this because I've wanted to uh I've been looking forward to this because I wanna I wanna quiz you.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: And I think you're gonna I and I like I said uh before the podcast started, I did preview a few of these, and you're gonna get 80 to 90 percent of them.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: But you have a lot of faith in them.
- 29:43SPEAKER_02: There are a few that uh you will not get.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 29:47SPEAKER_02: Uh this is Ultimate Classic Rock's article, the 40 best drum intros in rock history.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: Which they always make these bold.
- 29:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah, they make these really bold statements, and then you're like, eh.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I and I've seen some of these and I'm like, really rock history?
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: I've never heard of this band.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: And I can I worked in rock radio.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: I consider myself relatively tuned in, uh, except for Especially to classic rock.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, classic rock, yeah.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: Um so what I thought I would do is I would just kind of because they have video clips that go with each one of them, so you're gonna have to either close your eyes or look the other way.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I'll do this, I'll put Yeah, perfect.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Uh okay.
- 30:29SPEAKER_07: There we go.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: And again, some of them, some of them are you're you're gonna get right off the bat.
- 30:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: So number 40 uh is Are these are these ranked CZ Top, Frank Beard.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Wait a second.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: That's so funny.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: What?
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: That's not even the right song.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: What's the song?
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: CZ Top, give me all your loving.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: But they put sharp dress man as the video.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: I wonder if anybody called them out.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: But so so if it was the if it was the right song, ts, do, ts, do, t, boo-da doom, t, right?
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 31:08SPEAKER_02: So you would have recognized that.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: Um That's that's funny that it's the wrong song.
- 31:13SPEAKER_07: I wonder if they're all like that.
- 31:14SPEAKER_07: That'd be funny and all the clips are wrong.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: And I also want you to tell me if you agree.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Would you agree that ZZ Top's Give Me All Your Love in is one of the iconic drum intros?
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's recognizable, but iconic?
- 31:28SPEAKER_07: Not really.
- 31:29SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's just a it's a fill.
- 31:31SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's a fill.
- 31:32SPEAKER_07: And you and it makes you you you hear it and you're like, oh, Z Top.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: So they should change the title of this to uh the 40 best or the 40 most recognizable.
- 31:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah, see that would that would be more drum intros.
- 31:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that would be more better.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: Uh tell me if you get this one.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 31:54SPEAKER_07: Oh, spin doctors.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 31:58SPEAKER_07: Two princes.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:01SPEAKER_07: That's that's actually a really great intro.
- 32:04SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: That's a great intro.
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see if you get this one.
- 32:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, they don't even play the side.
- 32:14SPEAKER_07: That's a that's not the beginning.
- 32:16SPEAKER_07: It's not, hold on.
- 32:17SPEAKER_07: That's weird.
- 32:18SPEAKER_07: I don't even know what the song is, though.
- 32:21SPEAKER_07: Oh, quite right.
- 32:22SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 32:23SPEAKER_07: Oh no, twisted sister.
- 32:24SPEAKER_07: Twisted sister.
- 32:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we're not gonna take it.
- 32:26SPEAKER_07: So would you agree?
- 32:28SPEAKER_07: I I mean it's a I mean it's recognizable, yes.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: So I think that's iconic, not really.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: That should be that should be they should change it.
- 32:36SPEAKER_07: They should change it.
- 32:36SPEAKER_07: I think they're just like to use the word iconic.
- 32:38SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: Now, okay, I'll just play this one.
- 32:41SPEAKER_02: You tell me.
- 32:44SPEAKER_07: Oh, that's uh Tom Petty and the heartbreakers.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: Again, recognizable.
- 32:49SPEAKER_02: Iconic?
- 32:55SPEAKER_07: I don't think iconic.
- 32:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't think so either.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: Recognizable, yes.
- 32:59SPEAKER_07: Yes, definitely.
- 33:01SPEAKER_02: See if you get this one.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, it's a commercial.
- 33:04SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 33:06SPEAKER_02: This is where I think Ultimate Classic Rock kind of goes.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Do you know the song?
- 33:30SPEAKER_07: I don't know the song.
- 33:32SPEAKER_07: Is it um is it deep purple?
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: No.
- 33:35SPEAKER_07: No.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Uh it's from 1976.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: It's Steppenwolf.
- 33:43SPEAKER_07: That's Steppenwolf?
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: Uh from the album Skullduggery.
- 33:48SPEAKER_07: I don't remember that.
- 33:49SPEAKER_07: I've never heard that song.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: Um, and that's the the song, the song as well, Skullduggery.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, Born to Be Wild, Steppenwolf.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: This is kind of like it's a great drum intro.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: That was a great drum intro.
- 34:03SPEAKER_07: But I don't know about iconic.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: Not only not iconic, but not recognizable.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: Unless you're unless you're a huge Steppenwolf fan.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: You'll get this one.
- 34:13SPEAKER_07: Which I'm not.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Steve Miller.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: Now I would call that iconic.
- 34:27SPEAKER_07: That is well, the song is definitely iconic.
- 34:33SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 34:34SPEAKER_07: So I guess by default, that drum intro is.
- 34:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 34:38SPEAKER_07: So, yeah, I'll go there.
- 34:40SPEAKER_07: I'll go there.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, here's one you won't get.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty sure.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: The band is called The Sword.
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: And the song is Arrows in the Dark.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: Never heard of it.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: They are at number 34.
- 35:13SPEAKER_09: Why?
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: Again.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: I have never heard of these people.
- 35:18SPEAKER_02: And it was a great drum intro, but it was Monic.
- 35:20SPEAKER_07: No, I mean, come on.
- 35:21SPEAKER_07: I mean, maybe for them.
- 35:24SPEAKER_07: Maybe.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: Now I like the drum intro.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: But I was never a huge fan of the Pixies.
- 35:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's Pixies.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Bone Machine.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: Uh, what's his name?
- 36:03SPEAKER_07: Uh Frank.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: Frank uh Black.
- 36:04SPEAKER_02: Frank Black, yes.
- 36:06SPEAKER_07: Um he had that he had that spin-off band, Frank Black and the Catholics or something like that.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: Um I actually like Frank Black.
- 36:17SPEAKER_07: He he's really good.
- 36:18SPEAKER_07: He's got an interesting voice.
- 36:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:27SPEAKER_07: Are we in the desert?
- 36:30SPEAKER_07: There's a mic off bicycle.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: I've never seen this video, to be honest.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: On a list like this, I would think that would just sh- sh it would just have a YouTube of the song.
- 36:46SPEAKER_07: Not well, that's what you would think.
- 36:47SPEAKER_02: Not the video.
- 36:48SPEAKER_07: Maybe there's not a maybe there's nothing.
- 36:50SPEAKER_07: Oh no, there is.
- 36:51SPEAKER_07: Oh, there is okay.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: It's kiss.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:19SPEAKER_02: I love it loud.
- 37:20SPEAKER_07: That's what it is, thank you.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: I see, and now I would have got the song, but as far as iconic intros.
- 37:30SPEAKER_07: It's definitely heavy for a kiss song.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and also I think recognizable.
- 37:36SPEAKER_02: I really wish they would use the right title for these.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: Uh here's again, you'll get this.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: Never mind, that was a commercial.
- 37:47SPEAKER_07: Derby commercial.
- 37:53SPEAKER_08: John Megan.
- 37:54SPEAKER_08: John Cougar!
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: Johnny Cougar! Johnny Cougar! John Mellencamp hurts so good.
- 37:58SPEAKER_02: That's some Kenny Arnoff right there.
- 38:00SPEAKER_07: It is.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: There's a quality on that one's not bad.
- 38:04SPEAKER_07: Am I your drummer?
- 38:07SPEAKER_07: I love that story.
- 38:08SPEAKER_07: Which one?
- 38:09SPEAKER_07: When he was doing the when he was uh he was doing that drum fill from Jack and Diane.
- 38:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 38:15SPEAKER_07: They they he was like, he was like, am I your drummer?

- 38:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, guns and roses.
- 38:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:35SPEAKER_02: Now would you call that iconic?
- 38:38SPEAKER_07: Well, I would call the song kind of iconic.
- 38:42SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's one it's one of the more recognizable guns and roses songs.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: I do I do think.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: I think that's a iconic drum.
- 38:50SPEAKER_07: It's a great, it's a great drum intro.
- 38:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: But you know, I just, you know, I can hear the splash guitar.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, one of my favorite GR songs, actually.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: Great song.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: All right, how about this one?
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: This is number 29.
- 39:21SPEAKER_07: Is this Jewish priest?

- 39:39SPEAKER_07: Uh run to the hills.
- 39:41SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 39:42SPEAKER_07: Well, you know, I I I only recognize you because uh Metallica at the end of one of their songs and Garage Days Revisited, yeah.
- 39:52SPEAKER_07: Do a do like an out-of-tune version of that.
- 39:55SPEAKER_07: Oh, really?
- 39:56SPEAKER_07: Like an outro of one of their songs.
- 39:58SPEAKER_12: It's kind of funny.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Uh would you say that's an iconic drum intro?
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, you didn't get it.
- 40:04SPEAKER_07: I didn't get it, but I mean I mean if you're an Iron Iron Maiden fans are built different.
- 40:12SPEAKER_07: Every song to Iron Maiden fans is iconic.
- 40:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:15SPEAKER_07: So I guess if you want to, you know, give a concession to them, then sure.
- 40:20SPEAKER_07: All right.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: But here's one.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 40:53SPEAKER_07: It's King Crenson, isn't it?
- 40:54SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 40:54SPEAKER_07: Oh, it's that a merciful fate.
- 40:56SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 40:56SPEAKER_07: No.

- 41:25SPEAKER_02: Rainbow.
- 41:25SPEAKER_07: Rainbow.
- 41:26SPEAKER_07: Good lord.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: That's Cozy Powell on drums.
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: That was a pretty cool drum intro.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: That was a great intro.
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's that's that's good stuff.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: Definitely, definitely.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, so now this one is just this one is out of left field.
- 41:48SPEAKER_02: It's the band is not out of left field.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: Uh and the drummer certainly is not out of left field, but this song, you'd have to be a fan of the band to know the song.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: And maybe you do.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: I I've never heard this song.
- 41:58SPEAKER_07: We'll see.
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: You recognize the song?
- 42:16SPEAKER_07: No.
- 42:20SPEAKER_07: That sounds like Marley Curl, though.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: It's not.
- 42:23SPEAKER_02: That's funny that you say that when you find out who it is.
- 42:33SPEAKER_07: No.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: It's from in utero.
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: It's Nirvana.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: Sensless apprentice.
- 42:53SPEAKER_02: I don't remember this song at all.
- 42:55SPEAKER_07: No.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: But just go mind the drum intro.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: It's Dave Grohl.
- 43:00SPEAKER_07: Dave Grohl, yeah.
- 43:01SPEAKER_07: Is he on in utero?
- 43:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 43:04SPEAKER_07: He was always the drummer.
- 43:06SPEAKER_02: No, he wasn't.
- 43:08SPEAKER_07: For the albums, yes.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: For the albums, okay.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: Not always.
- 43:11SPEAKER_07: Wasn't there an album that that didn't have him as a drummer?
- 43:14SPEAKER_07: It might have been like one of the early the early, early ones.
- 43:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: But anyway.
- 43:21SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: I can't think of the bleach?
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: Wasn't he on bleach?
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: We have to look that up.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: We have to look that up.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: Um let's see.
- 43:44SPEAKER_02: From 87 to 88, it was Aaron Burkhardt.
- 43:47SPEAKER_02: He was their first true drummer, played their first live shows, but left due to personal and legal issues.
- 43:52SPEAKER_02: Dale Crover, 8890, the drummer for the Melvins.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: He played bass in early Kurt Cobain Project's track, their first 10 songs demo and Briefly stepped in for tours.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: Dave Foster, 1988, recommended by Crover.
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: He played a handful of shows but was let go after legal troubles and a brief stint in jail.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: Chad Channing, 88 to 90, the band's longest tenured drummer before Grohl.
- 44:13SPEAKER_02: He drummed on the majority of the debut album Bleach.
- 44:15SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 44:16SPEAKER_02: And recorded the original drum tracks for the Nevermind song Polly.
- 44:20unknown: Okay.
- 44:21SPEAKER_02: Dan Peters, 1990, the drummer for the band Mud Honey.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: He played exactly one show with Nirvana before they found the permanent replacement to Dave Grohl.
- 44:28SPEAKER_02: So yeah, he's not on Bleach.
- 44:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: I thought there was something, but that is him on that song from In Ural.
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: Number 26.
- 44:43SPEAKER_12: Wipeout!
- 44:45SPEAKER_02: Iconic, yeah?
- 44:46SPEAKER_07: Yes, very iconic.
- 44:47SPEAKER_07: Very iconic.
- 44:48SPEAKER_07: I would give that time.
- 44:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, to this day.
- 44:55SPEAKER_02: I mean.
- 44:56SPEAKER_07: It's really, it's really the benchmark of drummers, you know, to be able to do wipeout.
- 45:00SPEAKER_07: It kind of is.
- 45:01SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 45:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:02SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 45:02SPEAKER_02: No, you're a good drummer, but can you play wipeout?
- 45:04SPEAKER_09: Can you play a wipeout?
- 45:07SPEAKER_02: Um, here's one.
- 45:19SPEAKER_08: What is it?
- 45:46SPEAKER_07: I know the sound.
- 45:48SPEAKER_07: I know you do.
- 45:48SPEAKER_07: I can't think of what it is up.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: Thick peanut butter.
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: Wasn't there a story about peanut butter with this guy?
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: Stage diving.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: Lust for life.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: Diggy pop.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's iggy pop.
- 46:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: Wasn't there a peanut butter story?
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: There is a peanut butter story that I think about.
- 46:16SPEAKER_07: Henry Rollins tells it.
- 46:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's fucking hilarious.
- 46:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 46:18SPEAKER_07: Yes, okay.
- 46:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah.

- 46:41SPEAKER_02: Don't call me.
- 46:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 47:22SPEAKER_02: I mean it's recognizable.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's definitely recognizable.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I we can't go on saying iconic unless it's like really iconic, like yeah.
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: Hold on, this is an ad.
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: Never mind.
- 47:34SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.

- 49:06SPEAKER_02: I don't know if he did that.
- 49:13SPEAKER_02: Quality, sound quality on this one.
- 49:25SPEAKER_02: He wrote the song, sang it, and played it.

- 52:45SPEAKER_07: Are you talking about the cover?
- 52:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 52:47SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm talking about?
- 52:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:49SPEAKER_02: So they're actually moving pictures on the cover, like artwork.
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: And there's a that's one element.
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: And then the family on the side are looking at the pictures in awe.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:05SPEAKER_02: As if they're moving.
- 53:07SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 53:07SPEAKER_02: Moving pictures.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: On the back cover is a film crew.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: So they're filming it.
- 53:13SPEAKER_02: So it's moving pictures.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: And the fourth wall, if you will, is you, the consumer, who are buying the album and taking it with you.
- 53:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:25SPEAKER_02: And they're saying that was all intentional.
- 53:28SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 53:28SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 53:29SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 53:29SPEAKER_07: It's like it's like it's like one of the craziest album covers ever.
- 53:34SPEAKER_02: Had to be a Neil Peart idea.
- 53:36SPEAKER_07: I think it was all three of them.
- 53:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 53:42SPEAKER_07: So that makes sense to me.
- 53:44SPEAKER_07: But I bet Neil and Getty like actually made it happen.
- 53:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 53:47SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 53:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 53:48SPEAKER_07: So.
- 53:49SPEAKER_07: But yeah.
- 53:49SPEAKER_07: I just thought that was really cool.
- 53:50SPEAKER_07: I love I love this song so much.
- 53:53SPEAKER_07: Just because I love that counting, because that's Neil.
- 53:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 53:55SPEAKER_07: Counting that in.
- 53:56SPEAKER_07: You know, it's just it's just nice to hear his voice.
- 53:59SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 54:03SPEAKER_02: What album is this on?
- 54:05SPEAKER_07: Uh maybe it says.
- 54:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, counter counterparts.
- 54:08SPEAKER_07: Counterparts, okay.
- 54:09SPEAKER_07: I was gonna say I almost said Vapor Trails, but I think it's the one before his daughter and his uh his wife died.
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:17SPEAKER_02: So uh here's another odd one.
- 54:21SPEAKER_02: You won't get this either.
- 54:26SPEAKER_02: This is number 18 on their list.
- 54:33SPEAKER_02: And also it says in rock history.
- 54:37SPEAKER_02: I don't know that I I suppose this is Is this a video?
- 54:40SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 55:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't have a clue.
- 55:05SPEAKER_02: It's Paul Simon, the obvious child.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Oh maybe I'm never heard this song.
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: I have heard the song, but I I wouldn't put it on this list for some reason.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: This one I would put on uh as iconic and and recognizable.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 55:23SPEAKER_02: Uh you'll get it like right away if there's no commercial.
- 55:33SPEAKER_07: Don't bring me down.
- 55:34SPEAKER_02: Don't bring me down.
- 55:35SPEAKER_02: DLO.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: I had that distinctive Jeff Lynn production uh going on.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: Uh this one you'll also get uh right off the bat.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: This is a video.
- 55:52SPEAKER_02: Number 16.
- 55:55SPEAKER_02: Oh black crowd.
- 55:57SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 55:59SPEAKER_02: I would put that as iconic.
- 56:01SPEAKER_02: I would too, yeah.
- 56:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:02SPEAKER_02: At this point, I think I would.
- 56:04SPEAKER_02: Uh here's an 80s band.
- 56:08SPEAKER_02: This is Molly Cruel.
- 56:09SPEAKER_02: It is Molly.
- 56:10SPEAKER_02: Shout at the Devil.
- 56:10SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: No, nope.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: It's from the album, Shout of the Devil.
- 56:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, is this too fast for love?
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: Too young to fall in love.
- 56:21SPEAKER_08: Oh, is that?
- 56:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:25SPEAKER_02: Would you say that's iconic?
- 56:29SPEAKER_07: Uh not really, because the song's not really that iconic.
- 56:32SPEAKER_07: No.
- 56:32unknown: No.
- 56:33SPEAKER_07: Now, if it'd been shouted at the devil, that would have been maybe I think that would have been more iconic.
- 56:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, sorry, commercial.
- 56:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, this one, definitely iconic.
- 56:42SPEAKER_02: This next one.

- 57:42SPEAKER_07: Oh, this is a CCR.
- 57:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, but would you call that an iconic drum intro?
- 57:47SPEAKER_02: No.
- 57:48SPEAKER_02: Recognizable.
- 57:49SPEAKER_07: Recognizable, but not iconic.
- 57:51SPEAKER_07: The song is iconic.
- 57:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for sure.

- 58:08SPEAKER_02: We have never played brown sugar.
- 58:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:14SPEAKER_07: I don't know why I said brown sugar.
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, one Rolling Stone song is true.
- 58:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.

- 59:39SPEAKER_02: And when the levee breaks, was it number fourteen?
- 59:41SPEAKER_02: That's dumb.
- 59:43SPEAKER_02: One of the reasons that I question Ultimate Classic World.
- 59:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, every time they come on one of these lists, I'm like, well, something stupid's gonna come up.
- 59:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: Um everybody!
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_13: Billy Squire!

- 1:00:23SPEAKER_02: This is at number five.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_02: And I I would put this in there.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_07: Um Stevie Wonder.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_07: Is it superstition?
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_07: Is he playing the drums?
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_07: Probably.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_07: I guarantee he probably did.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_07: I'm pretty isn't this the album that he played all the instruments?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: Probably.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_07: I mean, why not?
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_07: You're Stevie Wonder.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I would, I would whip put, yeah.

- 1:00:50SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_02: No, it's uh the pretenders.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_02: It is the pretenders, middle of the road.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_02: Would you put that where it is at number four?
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_07: Maybe.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_07: I don't know about number four.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I wouldn't have.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_02: Uh this one, definitely in the top five for me.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_02: And that they have it sitting at number three.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_02: Number two, uh, definitely in the top five for me.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, not this one.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_02: This one is in commercial.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_08: Oh, Toto.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_08: Rosanna! Jeff Forcaro.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_08: The king.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, for sure.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_07: I love I love I love listening to Jeff Forcaro because it sounds on the on the surface, it sounds really easy.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_07: But when you when you actually try to play along to it, you're like, what the?
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah, what is he doing?
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_07: What wizardry is this?
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_02: He should be burned at the stake as a witch.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_02: And I watched that interview with uh uh Annika Niles uh with Rick Beato and J Pokara was her was her idol.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, I get it.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_02: I get it.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_02: She said that she she um was raised in like uh an orchestra, like she played drums in an orchestra, and when she started listening to rock and roll, she was she she dove deep into Toto.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_02: Uh and she so she kind of grew up drumming to Toto.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_02: Which is that makes sense.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_07: Explains a lot about her.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_02: It does.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_02: Alright, so we're at number one.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_02: What do you think the number one drum intro they have is?
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_07: If you have to I I I don't know because I'm not even gonna try to guess where these guys are.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_02: Okay, so so you had said uh when the levy breaks should have been higher, any John Bonham should have been higher.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_02: I would think so.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_02: So now what do you think it is?
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_07: Is it is it Zeppelin?
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_07: It's probably Moby Dick.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_07: No?
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_07: Oh, is it is it uh rock and roll?
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: I was just waiting for this commercial.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_02: I would put that in there.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_07: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_07: I'm uh I'm actually glad that's number one.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, me too.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, me too.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_07: Uh you know what?
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_07: I'm surprised.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_02: What?
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_07: There's no ringo.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_02: What what Ringo intro would you put on there?
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_07: Uh I took it to Red.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_14: Yeah?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_07: That's a great intro.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_07: I'm surprised you didn't make a list.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_07: It's not an intro, but in the original intro.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: There's no Genesis.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_02: That's a solo.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_02: You're right, there's no Genesis.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_07: There's no Genesis at all.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_07: I guess that's it.
- 1:04:15unknown: Yeah.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_07: I bet no four calls, no Ringo.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_07: That's the thing.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_02: We'll we'll think of a lot more, I'm sure.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_07: Oh, I'm sure, you know, you you'll be a little we'll be listening to a song and go, wow, that should have been.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_02: That should have been one of the one of the more recognizable ones or whatever.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_12: Yeah!
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_02: Alright, let's do this.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_02: Let's move.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_02: It's movie time.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's movie time.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_02: Uh I have picked four.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_02: Torky Dorky.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_12: Um I think.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_02: Uh now I I I told you I weeded these out.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: What I thought ones that I thought we had done.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_02: I'm sure there, and actually there are some left in the in the stack that I wasn't sure if we had done.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_02: And I actually as I look through these, we may have done one of these.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_02: But for the most part, these in that stack right there we have done for sure.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_02: Um so you'll have to tell me if uh we've done these.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_02: Uh here's the first one.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_02: A woman wears a suit to meet the queen.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_02: And the hint is they're in space.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_09: Imagine being able to build an app with your cat.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_07: Since when?
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_07: I've never seen a commercial come up on that.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_07: No, neither have I.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_07: Let's just put it back on this one.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_07: Weird.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_02: Um A woman wears a suit to meet the queen.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_02: They're in space.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_02: They're in space.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_02: 1986.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_07: A woman puts on a suit to meet the queen.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_07: Well is it Alien?
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_02: I'll give it to you.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_02: I'll give it to you.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_02: Aliens.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_02: 1986.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_02: Because there is an uh a movie called Alien, right?
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_02: Isn't there?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: Or was this the first one?
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_07: I think that's the first one.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_07: Because the queen is the the the that that really scary one.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_02: Um fruit starts a citywide riot.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_02: Fruit.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_02: Fruit starts a citywide riot.

- 1:06:24SPEAKER_02: 1984.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_02: Some new hires.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_02: Some new hires.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_02: Fix it.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_02: It's a classic movie.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_02: Uh first of a long line of movies.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_02: When I was a kid, we weren't watching allowed to watch them.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_02: Police Academy.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we weren't allowed to watch them because there were boobs.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_12: Police Academy.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_12: It is definitely Police Academy.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_12: I forgot about that.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_02: Let's see.

- 1:07:33SPEAKER_07: Because there's been new remakes of it.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I saw one of the new remakes.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_02: Doesn't one of the new remakes have uh it has Gillian Anderson in it.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_02: But doesn't it also have um is that you know is that Tron?
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 1:07:47SPEAKER_07: The new one, noon one.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_02: Wasn't it uh what's his name there that was in uh the notebook?
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_02: Uh Ryan Gosling?
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_07: Maybe.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I thought he was in one of them.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_07: Could have been.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_02: Anyway, yeah.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_02: I didn't like it then either.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_02: Okay, so here's the one I don't think you'll get.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_02: Maybe we've already done it.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_02: A son asks his teacher to take his single mother out.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_07: I feel like we've done this one.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_02: In exchange for a murder.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_07: Uh throw mama from the table.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_02: It is throw mama from the page.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we've done that one before.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_02: Well, I wasn't sure, so we did it again.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_02: So there we go.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_02: Um that can only mean that it's time for.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, wait.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I've picked one.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_14: Hold on.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_14: Hold on, hold on.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_14: Oh, yes, I did.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_14: Yes, I did.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_14: Oh, you did.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_14: Okay, I did.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_14: Okay, okay.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_14: Okay, okay.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_00: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_00: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_00: Judge Ness Judge Ness.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_00: It's time to play mixtape.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_02: Alrighty rule.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_02: Alright, so we're gonna go to the past first.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_02: We have uh Miss Judgeness and her pick from last week.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_02: I don't remember what it was.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_07: This ought to be interesting because it says under, I'm so sorry for the elevator.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_07: She was not a paid actress, so I don't know what's gonna be up this.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_07: Okay, so you ready?
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_07: Okay, here we go.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, that was a really fun week of picks for mixed tape.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_00: Uh it was difficult.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_00: It was a hard pick, but I had to go with O'Brien's uh drive theme song.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_07: Oh, she must have talked about the elevator, as it was not a picture of Pictrus.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_02: What what was it?
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_08: What was she picked mine, but um what was it?
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_08: I can't remember.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_08: I couldn't hear her because the the the bell went off.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_08: Was something about driving?
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_00: Hey guys, that was a really fun week of picks for mixtape.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_00: Uh it was difficult.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: It was a hard pick, but I had to go with O'Brien's uh drive theme song.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_02: Hardcastle and McCormick.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_02: Drive, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_02: Because I would, yeah.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_02: I didn't know anybody knew that song.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe she didn't know that song.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_02: Maybe she looked it up and just picked it, yeah.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_02: Um anyway.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_02: Alright, so now we're gonna do the present.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_02: And the current question is You just won a ticket to a private show with 50 other people in an intimate and small venue.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_02: What band or song do you want to play first?
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_02: What did Cousin Larry say?
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_02: Mine's lame, by the way.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_08: I'm sure it is.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_08: You don't have to agree with me.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_07: Stupid yeah.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_07: Uh okay, here's what cousin Larry said.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_07: Mixtape! I thought about this one a lot.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_07: There are so many possibilities.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_07: Who wouldn't want to see the Beatles and hear them play in my life?
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_07: Or maybe Strawberry Fields.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_07: I saw ACDC with 200 20,000 of my closest friends.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_07: What about Led Zepp, Metallica, or the Stones?
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_07: Yes, I like them.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_07: But if I could see the classic lineup of Van Halen singing Running with the Devil, that would be amazing.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_07: Honorable mention to the Hollies and Long Cool Woman in a black dress.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_07: I love to dance to that song.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_02: Need a rhyme?
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_02: Man after my own heart.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_02: Van Halen.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_02: I did and I did not pick Van Halen.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_12: What is happening?
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_02: Would you what?
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_02: What do you want to do?
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_07: Oh that was good.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_07: I was I was just thinking of something.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_07: I had I had this memory flashback.
- 1:12:40SPEAKER_07: We were we were doing this war game in Arizona.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_07: And I was driving I was driving the truck.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_07: And I had another guy and a and our platoon sergeant were in the cab with me.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_07: And me and the platoon sergeant were having an argument of who was better, Dave or Sammy.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_07: And I remember, because we were listening to this song.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_07: Somebody somebody hated like a Walkman.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_07: Or like a like a little boombox.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_07: He was playing this, he was playing this talk while we were driving, right?
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_07: And he was like, we were we got this because he was all about Dave and I was all about Sammy, and we were like talking back.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_07: I remember having this great conversation with him about uh after a while he was just like, I'm a sergeant, you shut up.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_07: Of course he was he was just joking, but he but yeah.
- 1:13:30SPEAKER_07: We we just had a great conversation.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_07: I I just had that flashback.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_02: Funny that you say that because Pat Bragdon today was came into my office and he was talking to me about Roth and Hagar, and he kind of leans toward Hagar as well.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_02: And I said the same thing to him that I say to everybody now.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_02: It's such a stupid argument.
- 1:13:49SPEAKER_07: It really is, yeah.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_02: It's really mute.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_02: It's a st it's a stupid argument because they're two totally different bands.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_02: Uh you know, you've got the core of the band is the same, but when Hagar got in there, they became a different band.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_02: I mean, they were playing the music was completely different.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_02: It was, yeah.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_02: Um, so you can't really compare the two.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_02: I like Sammy Hagar's era better.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_02: Because I like singing and melody.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_07: I think I think Dave was a better showman.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_07: Oh, I agree.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_07: Better, better frontman.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_07: I no, no question.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_07: Sammy was definitely better, better.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah.
- 1:14:23SPEAKER_02: Just the music that came in.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_07: It's a moo point.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_07: Like Joey would say.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_07: A moo point, yes.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_07: A moo point?
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_07: Like the peening of a cow.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_07: It doesn't matter.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_02: So classic.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_07: I'd love it.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_08: That show is so well written.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_08: It's so good.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_08: Uh all right.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_08: Uh, what was yours?
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_08: Uh okay, this is very specific.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_07: 50 people.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_07: I want to hear Stevie Ray Vaughn from Austin City Limits doing voodoo child.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_07: Oh wow.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_07: That's that's that's what I want to start with.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, I should have had it right there.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_02: Here we go.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_07: I love I love this.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_02: I must like is this is this is blasphemous to say that I like Stevie Ray's version better than Jimmy's.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, way better.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_02: Way better.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_07: Now, if I'm not mistaken, he's actually using Jimmy's WAP.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_02: I think on this on this.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_07: I think he used I think he went to his parents and they gave him his w uh Jimmy's WAP pedal.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_07: I think that's the one he's using.
- 1:16:29SPEAKER_07: I'm not don't quote me.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_02: No, it's entirely possible.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, geez, man.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_02: Stevie Lavon.
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_02: Holy cow, holy cow.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_02: Love that.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_02: Um, alright.
- 1:16:42SPEAKER_02: So mine, like I said, is kind of lame.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_02: But if I had a room full of 50 people and it was intimate, it's a small setting, right?
- 1:16:52SPEAKER_07: People are gonna have their clothes on, right?
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_07: Yes, yes, they are.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_07: Um just checking.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_02: So this is and this is kind of just way out in left field.
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_02: But there's a song um that I always loved from Sir Paul McCartney.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_02: Uh from his Flowers in the Dirt album that was um kind of an homage to his father.
- 1:17:14SPEAKER_10: Um it's called Put It There.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_02: You heard this song?
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_07: Not even sure I heard this album.
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_07: I probably heard songs from it.
- 1:17:31SPEAKER_10: Give me a hand.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_10: I like to take it.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_10: I wanna show you I'm your friend.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_10: You understand?
- 1:17:44SPEAKER_10: If I can make it clear, so you'll be here.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_10: Put it there.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_10: It'll waste a ton.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_03: That's what a boss said.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_10: I don't care.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_10: It waste a ton.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_03: As long as you and I are here, put it there.
- 1:18:12SPEAKER_03: Long as you and I are here, put it there.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_02: That's about a handshake.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_02: It's you know, it's friendship, and I just I've always loved this song, and it never got uh the recognition it deserved.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_02: I didn't think it's a good song.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_02: Uh so that's mine.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_02: Flowers in the dirt is the album uh Put It There from Sir Paul McCartney.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_02: Uh again, kind of out in left field and kind of lame, but uh and Doug's Steve Ray Vaughn.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_02: Steve Ray Vaughn.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_02: Voodoo Child.
- 1:18:40SPEAKER_02: The Voodoo Child from Austin City Limits.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I believe it was his last time on Autist and Stimulus before he passed away.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_02: Um and then, of course, uh Van Halen's running with the devil.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_02: Yes, cousin Larry.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_02: So three choice good choices.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_02: Good luck, Judge.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_02: Good luck, Judge.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_02: Um alright, so we're gonna take a break.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_02: Oh no, we're not.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_02: We're gonna pick a new uh Did you look at the checklist?
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_02: I didn't, but I didn't have to because it was that was sitting right in front of me.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_08: Noise.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_07: Let's see what fate will give us this week.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_07: I think we've done that one before.
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_02: We're gonna answer some listener mail after the break, too.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_02: Noise!
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_07: Of course it is.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_07: Oh goodness gracious!
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_02: We gotta go through that one apparently and and look at the ones that we've already done.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_07: But we're not gonna remember.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_07: Okay, well this is a little different.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_07: I don't think we've done we may have done something similar to this.
- 1:19:53SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_07: You're excited for your first date with a new love interest.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_07: After waiting nervously at the restaurant for some time, you realize your date stood you up.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_07: What song do you play on the way home?
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_07: I don't think we've done enough.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_07: Cold hard bitch.
- 1:20:11SPEAKER_07: I'm sorry.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_07: She's a bitch! She's a liar.
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_07: What was her name?
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_02: Meredith.
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_02: Meredith uh uh Mer Meredith uh Holy cow, you would ask that.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_02: Meredith?
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_02: Well, she was just like it was like a one-hit wonder.

- 1:20:28SPEAKER_02: One hit wonder, yeah.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_02: Meredith.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_02: What was her name?
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_02: Meredith something.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 1:22:16SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Cousin Larry.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_02: Let's just do this first.
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_01: O'Brien and Doug's wall of two Smasher Trash!
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_02: Thank you for that little uh addendum there.
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_02: No problem.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_02: We have changed uh for those of you that are just tuning in for uh a while.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_07: We have changed And for those of you that just found us on accident, I'm sorry.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_02: It's not the Wall of Tunes What the frick is this podcast yesterday?
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_02: Um we are we are still picking from the Wall of Tunes, but we're we're deciding whether to smash or trash uh the album that I that I choose.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_02: Because I need to weed out uh some of these uh CDs and get rid of them.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_02: Before we do that, I want to read some uh listener mail from Bounce and Bob.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_02: Uh first he says, because we we we kind of looped him in uh on the Smash or Trash thing.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_02: So he listened to the podcast and he said smash.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_02: And and what we're talking about.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_02: Who said uh Bounce and Bob.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_02: So uh the the the CD CD we picked last week was Quiet Riot, Smash Hits.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_02: Uh no, super hits.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_02: Um and it was basically like a Walmart super hits collection.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_02: Um and so he says smash first.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_02: Uh and then he gave me some suggestions for the future.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_02: Uh introduced bands that are lesser known but talented.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_02: Dirt Drifters was one I had never heard of, but when I listened to them, I thought they were exceptional.
- 1:23:37SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_02: That's a good idea.
- 1:23:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_02: Uh have one of the big four, Doug, cousin Larry, her judges, you, offer up a band that only they like to be evaluated by you and Doug.
- 1:23:49SPEAKER_02: That like you did for Jeff Carriani for a couple of the bands recently.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, those are great ideas.
- 1:23:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:23:54SPEAKER_02: I like them.
- 1:23:55SPEAKER_02: I do too.
- 1:23:55SPEAKER_02: Uh then he came back and he said, I misunderstood the question.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_02: I thought Smash was to get rid of the CD.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_02: My vote is trash.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_02: So that is one vote for trash for Quiet Riot's super hits.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:24:10SPEAKER_02: Now, if I look at Kariani, uh first he says, I really get a vote?
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_02: Yay! I vote trash for this one.
- 1:24:22SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited.
- 1:24:25SPEAKER_02: So that's two votes for trash.
- 1:24:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:24:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, do we have a vote from her judges?
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_02: We do.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_07: Uh what did she say?
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_07: As for the wall of tune smasher trash, I have to go with trash.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_07: If you're not a big fan of it, it will just sit and collect dust.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, and you said what was your I said trash too.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_02: I think it's you now.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_02: What did Cousin Larry say?
- 1:24:46SPEAKER_02: Oh no, Cousin Larry said uh smash.
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_07: Oh, did he say smash?
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:24:51SPEAKER_07: He didn't get back to me about it.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I want to make sure that he did.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 1:24:56SPEAKER_02: Um I'm almost positive he said he said to keep it.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_02: He loves Quiet Riot, so he said to keep it.
- 1:25:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_02: Uh but let me let me double check here.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_02: Because it was there it is.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, and he sent me a picture.
- 1:25:12SPEAKER_02: Listening to the podcast, I love Quiet Riot, and I also love Slade.
- 1:25:15SPEAKER_02: I vote to keep Quiet Riot.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_02: And he sent me a picture of uh two cassette tapes, Slade and Quiet Riot next to each other.
- 1:25:21SPEAKER_02: So that's one vote for smash, three votes for trash.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_02: My vote is also trash.
- 1:25:29SPEAKER_02: Dun dun trash.
- 1:25:31SPEAKER_02: We should have some sort of sound effect or something.
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_02: That's it right there.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_02: Do it again.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_12: Dun dun dun trash.
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 1:25:40SPEAKER_02: So Quiet Riot is trashed.
- 1:25:42SPEAKER_02: Now I'm gonna pick another one.
- 1:25:43SPEAKER_02: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_07: Tell them what we're gonna do with it.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_02: Oh yes.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_02: Okay, before before I pick another one.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_02: Um so we have teamed up with our uh um illustrious crew at KMH Music, one of our fine sponsors of this podcast.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_02: And so what we're gonna do is once we once a an album is trashed from our collection, we're gonna turn it over to KMH Music and they're gonna you you can pick it up there at a reasonable price.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_02: I think it's like three dollars.
- 1:26:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, so it's like it's like three, five bucks or something.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so super cheap.
- 1:26:15SPEAKER_02: So if yeah, if you'd like to pick up any of these albums that we trash, um then you go to KMH Music on Main Street and Prescott and uh pick it up for a good a good steal.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_07: So it'll be there this week, I assume?
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_02: I'm assuming.
- 1:26:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I can get it to them.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_02: Uh not that anybody's gonna be listening and saying, Oh, I gotta go to KMH right now and get that.
- 1:26:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_07: Cousin Larry's like, I'm on a flight right now.
- 1:26:39unknown: Alright.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_07: Honey, I gotta go to Maine!
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna pick another one.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_08: Alright, what have I picked, Doug?
- 1:26:51SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 1:26:52SPEAKER_08: I didn't look because I'm getting back to Cousin Larry.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_02: Uh let me see if I have uh I must have this in here.
- 1:27:02SPEAKER_08: Let's see what it is.
- 1:27:03SPEAKER_08: I don't tell you the second.
- 1:27:06SPEAKER_08: I can't see it.
- 1:27:08SPEAKER_02: It is Kenny Loggins Leap of Faith.
- 1:27:13SPEAKER_07: Oh boy.
- 1:27:16SPEAKER_07: That uh I'm honestly just based on the cover alone, trash.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_07: That cover is terrible.
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_07: That's his son.
- 1:27:24SPEAKER_07: I I don't care.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_07: That is just disturbing and gross, and I feel icky.
- 1:27:31unknown: Okay.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_12: That does not help!
- 1:27:43SPEAKER_02: So he got sued or taken to court by Garth Brooks over this song, or the other way around.
- 1:27:52SPEAKER_02: I can't remember.
- 1:27:53SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe it was the other way around.
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_02: Maybe he took Garth to court over this song.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_02: And I wonder if you'll be able to tell why.
- 1:28:34SPEAKER_08: That was an awful long intro.
- 1:28:41SPEAKER_07: It's like it's like music you go to sleep too.
- 1:28:44SPEAKER_08: Oh, here we go.
- 1:28:55SPEAKER_04: Where are the dreams that we won't have?
- 1:29:00SPEAKER_04: This is the time to bring them back.
- 1:29:05SPEAKER_04: What would the project Got on the test?
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_04: Do we all get off?
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_04: It's a whole lot of life.
- 1:29:21SPEAKER_04: Waiting to live with one day we break it.
- 1:29:39SPEAKER_02: And this is why.
- 1:29:41SPEAKER_02: This is why uh either he sued Garth.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_14: We call them cool.
- 1:29:52SPEAKER_14: Those hearts and have no scarf.
- 1:29:54SPEAKER_02: That's not even Garth.
- 1:29:56SPEAKER_02: That's right, I forgot that Garth's music is not on YouTube.
- 1:30:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I was about to say, I've never seen him on.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was a tri- that's a tribute, Garth tribute.
- 1:30:06SPEAKER_02: But anyway, uh that song standing outside the fire.
- 1:30:09SPEAKER_07: I think uh Well, didn't the Kenny Loggins one come out first?
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I I think it was the other way around.
- 1:30:15SPEAKER_02: I think Kenny Loggins sued Garth.
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_02: That would make sense.
- 1:30:18SPEAKER_02: Or tried to sue Garth or something like that.
- 1:30:19SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 1:30:20SPEAKER_02: But it doesn't sound much.
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_02: No, it doesn't.
- 1:30:22SPEAKER_02: It's just a it's just the groove at the beginning.
- 1:30:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:30:24SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it doesn't sound like it at all.
- 1:30:26SPEAKER_02: Uh there's some some great songs on this album.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_02: Um mostly about his kids.
- 1:30:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is kind of a disturbing cover.
- 1:30:35SPEAKER_02: Uh but and I and I I like it because I it was came out in '94.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_02: Um and I was working at uh Channel X radio.
- 1:30:47SPEAKER_02: WCXU.
- 1:30:49SPEAKER_02: And there was it was a CXU was a um kind of a hot AC adult contemporary station.
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_02: We played oldies, but we also played like like pop.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_02: You know, like uh adult contemporary pop.
- 1:31:02SPEAKER_02: Not like you know, like Mariah Caesar.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_02: Well no, we played Mariah Carey too, but you know It was quite a variety.
- 1:31:08SPEAKER_02: There was a variety for sure.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_02: Um and I remember liking a lot of these songs, and so I bought the album.
- 1:31:14SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah.
- 1:31:17SPEAKER_02: Well so so we'll see.
- 1:31:18SPEAKER_02: Uh what what what well should I play some more songs?
- 1:31:21SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:31:22SPEAKER_02: Let me let me play.
- 1:31:24SPEAKER_02: It's pretty mellow, the whole album.
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I was about to say if it's anything like that first song.
- 1:31:32SPEAKER_02: And this is this is also, I think, about one of his divorces.
- 1:31:37SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 1:31:38SPEAKER_02: This is a song called The Real Thing.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_04: And uh no one to think it.
- 1:31:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's yeah, it's it's very you know Although I love the music, it's just I don't know that it's something that I would listen to today, but I could be wrong.
- 1:31:57SPEAKER_12: You've been making the greatest.
- 1:31:59SPEAKER_02: It's not uh it's not bad.
- 1:32:01SPEAKER_02: It's not highway to the danger zone.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_02: Now we gotta cut loose, foot loose.
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_02: Foot loose.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_02: Alright, so are we smashing or trashing?
- 1:32:13SPEAKER_02: So uh we'll wait to hear from everybody.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 1:32:15SPEAKER_02: Um I'm not gonna give my vote now.
- 1:32:17SPEAKER_02: I know what your vote already is.
- 1:32:19SPEAKER_02: But I'm literally just like Kenny Loggins Leap of Faith.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_02: There's some there's a couple upbeat songs, but they're very uh they're very saccharine.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_07: Okay, yeah.
- 1:32:37SPEAKER_02: Syrupy.
- 1:32:37SPEAKER_07: It's not it's not catching me right now.
- 1:32:39SPEAKER_07: So I'm I already know which way I'm going.
- 1:32:42SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:32:42SPEAKER_02: So uh alright, so um we'll wait to hear from the other ones.
- 1:32:47SPEAKER_07: So we're waiting for Cousin Larry, the judge, Thomson Bob, and Chris.
- 1:32:52SPEAKER_02: And Chris.
- 1:32:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Morton.
- 1:32:54SPEAKER_02: Kelly is you know obviously not a listener.
- 1:32:57SPEAKER_07: She is not a listener.
- 1:32:58SPEAKER_07: We've uh smoked you out.
- 1:33:00SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:33:00SPEAKER_07: You're busted.
- 1:33:01SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:33:01SPEAKER_02: She commented on one of her one of our uh posts see I were I I listened because you didn't mention me.
- 1:33:09SPEAKER_02: Well, obviously you didn't because we called we we asked you to be a part of this and busted.
- 1:33:13SPEAKER_02: You're busted.
- 1:33:14SPEAKER_02: You you did not listen, so you're full of crap.
- 1:33:18SPEAKER_02: But we still love you.
- 1:33:19SPEAKER_02: We do.
- 1:33:21SPEAKER_02: All right, uh, that's it.
- 1:33:22SPEAKER_02: That's episode 295.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_02: 295.
- 1:33:26SPEAKER_02: 295.
- 1:33:28SPEAKER_07: Oh, what better than a beehive.
