- 0:00Speaker 1: And we are on fire today because it is hot outside.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I am your host, Jean Stothard. Peyton Highlock, my producer
- 0:08Speaker 1: is also here. Good morning Peyton, Good morning Jean. And
- 0:10Speaker 1: I'm so glad you're here today. Peyton had his bachelor
- 0:13Speaker 1: party this weekend and I was afraid I might have
- 0:16Speaker 1: to go down to the Department of Corrections and find
- 0:19Speaker 1: you this morning, but you are here.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I had one phone call and it wasn't to you, so.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I can't imagine why unless you needed to get bailed out.
- 0:29Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm glad you're here. I hope you had
- 0:31Speaker 1: a good time. But thank you all for being with
- 0:33Speaker 1: us today. And we want to hear from you. We
- 0:36Speaker 1: want to get your feedback. We want to hear your comments, concerns, questions, complaint, really,
- 0:40Speaker 1: anything goes and we won't back away from anything, whether
- 0:44Speaker 1: it's city, state, national, in the world. And we will
- 0:46Speaker 1: have some great guests too, and you're going to hear
- 0:48Speaker 1: plenty of opinions from me. And by the way, I
- 0:52Speaker 1: know I was listening to Cafe b this morning. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: know there was a bit of a signal problem of
- 0:58Speaker 1: Scott and Lucy going in and out with periods of
- 1:01Speaker 1: five to ten seconds of silence. I hope this is
- 1:04Speaker 1: going to be fixed, but it may happen with us
- 1:06Speaker 1: again this morning. So hopefully they will get that fixed
- 1:09Speaker 1: because we have a lot of important things to talk about.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But it is your chance to speak up and sound off.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You can send your emails to comment at kfab dot
- 1:18Speaker 1: com or you can call us at four two five
- 1:21Speaker 1: to five, eight eleven ten. It was a busy weekend
- 1:25Speaker 1: in Omaha. Scott talked about it this morning, but I
- 1:29Speaker 1: was at the concert Memorial Park concert on Friday night.
- 1:32Speaker 3: It was very good.
- 1:34Speaker 1: You know, I don't have any estimates of the crowd.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I would always get them in the past, but you know,
- 1:40Speaker 1: I would estimate Peyton that we had at least eighty
- 1:43Speaker 1: thousand people.
- 1:44Speaker 2: There really eighty thousand.
- 1:46Speaker 1: There's some of the highest that they've Actually they do counts.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's not easy to do counts, but these are estimates.
- 1:54Speaker 1: But some of the most crowded events that I've attended,
- 1:57Speaker 1: there's been around eighty thousand people, and there was at
- 1:59Speaker 1: least that many. It was a beautiful night, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 1: the weather was really good. I will tell you this,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I am not familiar with Cake. My daughter I was
- 2:09Speaker 1: with my daughter, my husband, her, my son in law,
- 2:12Speaker 1: and my two grandkids. We were all there. My daughter
- 2:15Speaker 1: was very familiar with them. She's forty years old. She
- 2:17Speaker 1: said they were very popular when she was in high school.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But what I don't get, and I want to hear
- 2:23Speaker 1: your feedback to, is why can't entertainers just come on
- 2:27Speaker 1: the stage and entertain. But there had to be the
- 2:30Speaker 1: politics that was brought into this show. And you know,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the lead singer was throwing out T shirts to the
- 2:39Speaker 1: audience that said Democrat on him. He was talking about
- 2:42Speaker 1: what a mess the country is in right now. Oh,
- 2:45Speaker 1: this country is such a mess right now. And I thought,
- 2:48Speaker 1: just thing, just entertain. I just hate when that has
- 2:53Speaker 1: to happen. But it did, and so they sang. I
- 2:57Speaker 1: think people wanted them back on for and on, and
- 3:00Speaker 1: they didn't do that. So Scott Vorhees came out to entertain,
- 3:03Speaker 1: and Scott got booed. I was not part of the booing.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Honestly, Well, did he start singing, because then it might.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Thank Goodness for that.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I know it's afraid he might do that, and dancing
- 3:15Speaker 1: around the stage, but anyway, no, But I mean they
- 3:18Speaker 1: were doing that because they wanted they wanted Cake to
- 3:22Speaker 1: be back on. Smokey was really good. A man for
- 3:26Speaker 1: eighty six years old. Smokey put on a pretty darn
- 3:29Speaker 1: good show and so it was really fun. And then
- 3:32Speaker 1: I went and saw Wicket on Saturday night, Wicked down
- 3:34Speaker 1: at the Orphan.
- 3:35Speaker 2: That was wow. That was really fun. Weekend.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that was really good too.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And I took my grandkids swimming yesterday at Oak Hills
- 3:42Speaker 1: and my god, the pool it was like standing room only.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It was because it was so hot. There was so
- 3:48Speaker 1: many people there.
- 3:49Speaker 3: But you know, I.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Mentioned it was Peyton's bachelor party this weekend.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Love is in the air. Peyton's getting married in August
- 4:00Speaker 3: to Carly.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I am, that's great, very exciting.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And you know, speaking of love in the air, I
- 4:06Speaker 1: got to read something because I had the best communication
- 4:12Speaker 1: director when I ran from mayor in twenty seventeen, well
- 4:16Speaker 1: known in Nebraska politics and Republican politics some time ago,
- 4:21Speaker 1: and his name was David Boomer, and he worked for
- 4:24Speaker 1: me during that campaign and he was just so awesome.
- 4:28Speaker 1: He did such a great job. But he sent me
- 4:30Speaker 1: an email and I wanted to read. I just have
- 4:33Speaker 1: to read it on the air because I love it,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and he said, hi, Mayor Teresa, that's his wife. And
- 4:38Speaker 1: I just celebrated our seventh anniversary on Saturday, and we
- 4:42Speaker 1: were married. It was June thirteenth, twenty nineteen, in the
- 4:45Speaker 1: Nebraska Club in Lincoln. We decided to celebrate with a
- 4:48Speaker 1: nice dinner at Mahogany's, one of our favorite places. Of course,
- 4:51Speaker 1: as the evening progressed, we were going down memory lane
- 4:54Speaker 1: as to how we met, etc. And you came up
- 4:58Speaker 1: and here's why. If you hadn't hired me to be
- 5:01Speaker 1: your campaign press guy in the twenty seventeen reelect, I
- 5:05Speaker 1: would not have been in Omaha. If I wasn't in Omaha,
- 5:08Speaker 1: then Teresa and I would have never met. So in
- 5:11Speaker 1: giving me that really good opportunity in your campaign, it
- 5:14Speaker 1: played a big role in making this wonderful thing happen
- 5:17Speaker 1: for both of us. A very belated thank you from
- 5:20Speaker 1: Teresa and me. You are our matchmaking Mayor just call
- 5:25Speaker 1: me cupid. Well, I know you do that, but you
- 5:28Speaker 1: know what, that's great from Dave and Teresa Boomer. I'm
- 5:30Speaker 1: so glad he sent me that because it was true.
- 5:33Speaker 1: He was living in DC and he came here for
- 5:36Speaker 1: a period of time to work on my campaign. And
- 5:39Speaker 1: because of that he in his Now his wife met,
- 5:45Speaker 1: So I think that is pretty cool that that happened.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So anyway, we've got all sorts of good things to
- 5:52Speaker 1: talk about today. Another thing is my son Max, grandson Max,
- 5:58Speaker 1: the six year old, the world famous Max.
- 6:01Speaker 2: He is so funny. And guess what, he started playing baseball?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Started playing baseball.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yes, he started playing baseball. He played Saturday. So it's
- 6:11Speaker 1: one of those coach pitch type of things. So he
- 6:14Speaker 1: gets up to that and he takes a swing and
- 6:18Speaker 1: he smacks that ball and he hits the ball and
- 6:21Speaker 1: he just stands there.
- 6:22Speaker 3: He didn't understand you had to run base and so
- 6:26Speaker 3: my daughter's yelling.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Run, Max, Run, Max, run, and so he goes, oh okay,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and so he takes off and he runs. He was
- 6:33Speaker 1: pretty good. He hit the ball almost every single time
- 6:35Speaker 1: he was up. But after it was over, my daughter said, Max,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you did real good, but you know what, you got
- 6:41Speaker 1: to run after you hit the ball. And he looked
- 6:43Speaker 1: at her and he goes, Mommy, do not judge me.
- 6:47Speaker 1: This kid is so funny.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I'm telling you. But he's a good boy too. So
- 6:52Speaker 3: lot's going on.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Now, here's what I want to talk about today, Peyton,
- 6:55Speaker 1: because on Saturday's Omaha World Herald there was a page
- 7:00Speaker 1: story on second District candidates on the outline their views
- 7:04Speaker 1: on abortion, and if anything's going to get people talking,
- 7:07Speaker 1: it's going to be the subject of abortion. However, in
- 7:11Speaker 1: my opinion, my humble opinion here who you know, I
- 7:14Speaker 1: worked with the World Herald and all the media a
- 7:17Speaker 1: lot during my twelve years as mayor because it was
- 7:20Speaker 1: so important to me it was important for them to
- 7:22Speaker 1: get an accurate story.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I always felt.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Like the media looked at me as being very media
- 7:28Speaker 1: friendly because I always thought, no matter how busy I
- 7:31Speaker 1: was or what I had going on, if they said
- 7:33Speaker 1: we want to interview the mayor, I'd make it happen
- 7:36Speaker 1: because I figured the story was going to happen with
- 7:38Speaker 1: or without me anyway. So I worked real hard on
- 7:41Speaker 1: working with the media. However, my opinion of this story,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and if you have read it on Saturday's World Herald
- 7:47Speaker 1: was it was it was a bit unfair and it
- 7:50Speaker 1: was quite biased. And I hope this isn't the direction
- 7:55Speaker 1: that we are going to see with this campaign, because
- 7:59Speaker 1: we know this second Congressional District race is always very competitive.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You know, Don Bacon ran five different times or for
- 8:07Speaker 1: ten years. Each time it was by His win was
- 8:11Speaker 1: by one or two percentage points at the at the most.
- 8:15Speaker 1: But when you when you're into newspapers, I think we
- 8:17Speaker 1: all know that a front page story is very important.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It gets a lot of people reading it. But the
- 8:25Speaker 1: important thing is is above the fold or below the fold?
- 8:28Speaker 1: And that's kind of newspaper talk. If you are above
- 8:31Speaker 1: the fold, you would always say, oh, there was an article.
- 8:34Speaker 1: It was about us or me, or the city or whatever.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Above the fold. A picture above the fold. That's primary
- 8:40Speaker 1: or prime spot for you know, for any story, and
- 8:44Speaker 1: that's what people look at and read. So here is
- 8:47Speaker 1: this story, and guess who's above the fold, A great
- 8:49Speaker 1: big picture of Denise Powell. Guess who's below the fold?
- 8:53Speaker 1: A not so attractive picture of brinker Herding. And brinker
- 8:56Speaker 1: Herding is a good looking guy. And so then I
- 8:59Speaker 1: start to read the article and I found it, in
- 9:04Speaker 1: my opinion, unfair, I found it bias, and I hate
- 9:08Speaker 1: to see that in our local newspaper. Now it's talking
- 9:11Speaker 1: about how Powell backs abortion rights, and this is a
- 9:16Speaker 1: topic that can be obviously very controversial, However, going back
- 9:22Speaker 1: to the pictures, if they want an article to be fair,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and they may come back and say, well, we'll do
- 9:28Speaker 1: other articles and put Brinker above the fold. Put them
- 9:30Speaker 1: side by side for crying out loud. That's all you
- 9:32Speaker 1: gotta do. I mean, put both candidates side my side.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You don't need one above the fold or one not
- 9:39Speaker 1: or below the fold. You may not think that's important,
- 9:43Speaker 1: but in media language, it's very important.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Now. The Democrat Party, they do.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Support they officially support abortion as a matter of reproductive
- 9:52Speaker 1: rights and healthcare. They support reproductive freedom. And this is
- 9:58Speaker 1: what Denise Powell was talking a about that she supports
- 10:01Speaker 1: that position. She wants federal funding for abortions, she wants
- 10:06Speaker 1: legal access for abortions. You know what the Democrats actually want.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Their official position is they want to roll back all
- 10:14Speaker 1: restrictions there was.
- 10:15Speaker 3: If you all recall, there was a High.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Amendment that happened way back in nineteen eighty and that
- 10:21Speaker 1: rule banned US federal funds for paying four abortions except
- 10:27Speaker 1: for cases of rape, incests and chance of death of
- 10:30Speaker 1: the mother. That happened back in nineteen eighty. Before the
- 10:34Speaker 1: High Amendment, there was approximately they estimate at least three
- 10:39Speaker 1: hundred thousand abortions annually, and so that made a big difference.
- 10:44Speaker 3: The Democrats want to roll that back.
- 10:48Speaker 1: That they also wanted to restore the protections that was
- 10:52Speaker 1: once afforded by Roe v. Wade, and so they want
- 10:55Speaker 1: the broad access. Now here's what I had an issue
- 11:00Speaker 1: with this article because they're talking about fetal viability and
- 11:05Speaker 1: that's a bit of a nebulous term in my opinion.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And like I said, I am a former nurse. I
- 11:11Speaker 1: do understand healthcare. But they they want they will say
- 11:16Speaker 1: that fetal viability is twenty weeks or even more. Some
- 11:23Speaker 1: they say that they would support even late term abortions
- 11:26Speaker 1: and that could be up to the eighth month, or
- 11:28Speaker 1: even more partial birth abortions. They said that there's liberal
- 11:34Speaker 1: Democrats about ninety three percent support legal abortions paid for
- 11:40Speaker 1: by the federal government. That twenty four weeks. Some will
- 11:45Speaker 1: say twenty three, twenty four weeks is fetal viability. I
- 11:49Speaker 1: think you know that's that's pushing it. There are there
- 11:54Speaker 1: are some many Republicans that tried to get the twelve
- 11:57Speaker 1: weeks as a time that they will not support abortion
- 12:01Speaker 1: after that, and it would still be based on rape,
- 12:05Speaker 1: incest or risk of death to the mother. They did
- 12:09Speaker 1: cover brinker Harding a bit in well. They said he
- 12:14Speaker 1: backs the current plan, and brinker Harding said he agrees
- 12:17Speaker 1: with a vast majority of Nebraska voters who supported a
- 12:20Speaker 1: ballot measure to restrict abortion after the first trimester, with
- 12:25Speaker 1: common sense exceptions for rape, incest, and health of the mother,
- 12:29Speaker 1: a risk of death of the mother. There was a
- 12:32Speaker 1: ballot initiative. They established a twelve week ceiling on abortion,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but it did allow for the state to set stricter limits.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So when you read through this article, they call well,
- 12:45Speaker 1: they do call each other. Powell called Harding out a
- 12:48Speaker 1: step with the voter, and Harding said the same to her.
- 12:53Speaker 1: They did mark in here that when there was a
- 12:57Speaker 1: let's say, Denise Powell brought it out Nebraska family a line.
- 13:00Speaker 1: There was a questionnaire and they ask the Omaha City
- 13:04Speaker 1: Council candidates if they supported legal protection for the life
- 13:09Speaker 1: of every preborn child from the moment of conception unless
- 13:14Speaker 1: there is risk of the mother's life. Harding marked yes,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and then he responded to a reporter's question on Thursday, saying,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I would not support a federal ban on abortion. I
- 13:25Speaker 1: would not support a federal ban on abortion. This is
- 13:29Speaker 1: now a state issue, and I support Nebraska's law as
- 13:31Speaker 1: it currently stands.
- 13:33Speaker 3: And so, you know, I think when.
- 13:35Speaker 1: You talk about a subject like this that isn't emotional
- 13:39Speaker 1: and as important as this. You know, they did bring
- 13:43Speaker 1: up with Governor Pillen how he feels he wants to
- 13:46Speaker 1: enact the Heartbeat Bill to ban abortions once a separate
- 13:50Speaker 1: heartbeat is detected in pregnancy, and this could be as
- 13:54Speaker 1: early as six weeks in pregnancy. And so, once again,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I think that the way it was written, I want
- 14:01Speaker 1: to know if you read this story, what your opinions
- 14:05Speaker 1: are on this. But I do feel like it was
- 14:08Speaker 1: it was quite bias, and I felt like it was unfair.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I have experienced that myself and the time that I
- 14:17Speaker 1: was mayor. I hate seeing something like that happen, and
- 14:22Speaker 1: I want your opinion of the World Herald. You know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: one of the things that they allowed in the original
- 14:30Speaker 1: article is to have Denise Pulse speculate on how she
- 14:34Speaker 1: thinks Brinker would vote on the issue. And I think
- 14:38Speaker 1: that's unfair too, to have your opponents speculate on how
- 14:42Speaker 1: you would vote. And so I read the World Herald
- 14:46Speaker 1: every day. I read it every day for the past
- 14:48Speaker 1: twelve years. But you know, when you even look at
- 14:51Speaker 1: the Public Pulse, most of the Public Pulse letters that
- 14:55Speaker 1: come in that are published are critical of the president,
- 14:58Speaker 1: They're critical of government, pilling their critical of the congressional
- 15:03Speaker 1: district to candidates. They it becomes very much to me
- 15:10Speaker 1: a left leaning.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Newspaper. And I want to hear what you all have
- 15:17Speaker 3: to say.
- 15:18Speaker 2: The phone lines are open four zero two, five, five,
- 15:20Speaker 2: eight eleven ten. Comment at kfab dot com is also
- 15:23Speaker 2: an incredible option and Gene. As we're talking about this
- 15:27Speaker 2: a little bit. One nickname that has come up for
- 15:30Speaker 2: Denise Powell is dark money Denise. Okay, And we got
- 15:33Speaker 2: an email earlier this morning in the email inbox comment
- 15:37Speaker 2: at kfab dot com anything goes for mayor gen Right
- 15:42Speaker 2: And it's a New York Times sorry New York Post
- 15:47Speaker 2: article that says George Soros and son Alex Soros have
- 15:51Speaker 2: funneled staggering one hundred and three million dollars into midterms
- 15:56Speaker 2: so far, on track to shatter their spending record. And
- 16:01Speaker 2: George Soros and his son Alex spent one hundred and
- 16:04Speaker 2: twenty eight million during the last midterms four years ago,
- 16:09Speaker 2: and we still have many months to go.
- 16:11Speaker 1: We do, and you know, I know that she's kind
- 16:14Speaker 1: of breaker will use that term, but breaker didn't you
- 16:17Speaker 1: know that a term didn't originate with Brinker harding either
- 16:20Speaker 1: about dark money, Denise, and we all know that in
- 16:23Speaker 1: that primary, millions and millions of dollars came in from
- 16:27Speaker 1: out of state to support her campaign, and you know
- 16:32Speaker 1: that we all knew.
- 16:33Speaker 3: About and we talked about.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I did ask Denise pull I sent her in her
- 16:37Speaker 1: campaign an email on the tenth of June asking her
- 16:43Speaker 1: to be on this show because anything goes. You know,
- 16:47Speaker 1: we've had Brinker on several times so far, and I felt,
- 16:51Speaker 1: in all fairness we should ask her too. I did
- 16:53Speaker 1: say in the email it would be respectful and fair
- 16:56Speaker 1: and interview, and they just ignored us, didn't even respond
- 17:01Speaker 1: to us. They didn't even give us a no, They
- 17:03Speaker 1: just didn't respond at all. And you know, so I
- 17:05Speaker 1: want to know if she was elected, would she represent
- 17:11Speaker 1: and support the Republicans and the independents in congressional district too,
- 17:16Speaker 1: or is she only going to support you know, the
- 17:19Speaker 1: liberal left in the in the Democrats and the other
- 17:24Speaker 1: thing with getting all of that money from out of state.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You know that that's a big concern because I don't
- 17:31Speaker 1: think we as Nebraska's are we in congressional district too
- 17:36Speaker 1: need people from out of state telling us how to vote.
- 17:39Speaker 1: We know how to vote ourselves. And by putting that
- 17:42Speaker 1: massive amount of money into her campaign. You know, I
- 17:45Speaker 1: didn't hear the end of this, and I'll have to
- 17:48Speaker 1: look this up maybe for tomorrow, but I do recall
- 17:51Speaker 1: Jane Kleb with the Nebraska Democrat Party going over to
- 17:55Speaker 1: some fundraiser in Europe. I believe it was in France that,
- 17:59Speaker 1: you know, to help raise money for the Nebraska Democrat Party.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Or was this for Denise Powell. I mean, do we
- 18:06Speaker 1: really need that coming into Nebraska politics or do we
- 18:10Speaker 1: need people that have been here worked here. You know,
- 18:13Speaker 1: Brinker Harding has been on the city council for many years.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I know Denise keeps on saying by her different commercials
- 18:23Speaker 1: that she had on the air that she has been.
- 18:26Speaker 3: The leader in this area for.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Years with politics and with raising money and with getting
- 18:34Speaker 1: candidates elected. And I've said this many times before I
- 18:38Speaker 1: was out there in the last sixteen years down at
- 18:40Speaker 1: city Hall. I attended about everything I could attend. I
- 18:44Speaker 1: didn't know. I've never heard of her before, and I
- 18:46Speaker 1: knew she ran that nonprofit called or was involved in
- 18:50Speaker 1: the nonprofit called Ready to Run, But I always kind
- 18:54Speaker 1: of scratched my head with that group that they were
- 18:57Speaker 1: teaching people how to run for public office and they
- 19:00Speaker 1: never run for public office, so they never had any
- 19:02Speaker 1: experience themselves. And she will claim, well, I work for
- 19:06Speaker 1: other candidates, Well, good for you, but that's really not
- 19:10Speaker 1: the same as you being the candidate, being out there,
- 19:13Speaker 1: having to answer the questions, having to do debates, having
- 19:17Speaker 1: to knock on all these doors. It's totally different to say, well,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I volunteered for this candidate or that candidate than being
- 19:24Speaker 1: a candidate yourself. So I think the voters need to
- 19:27Speaker 1: know a lot more about the Democrats, Republicans and independents
- 19:32Speaker 1: need to know a lot more about who Denise Powell is.
- 19:35Speaker 1: But if you're not going to interview, and you're not
- 19:37Speaker 1: going to come out in public and be interviewed, this election,
- 19:42Speaker 1: as far as she goes, may be controlled by out
- 19:44Speaker 1: of state wealthy people, and that is not what we
- 19:48Speaker 1: want to see happening in the state of Nebraska, especially
- 19:51Speaker 1: not in congressional district too.
- 19:53Speaker 3: You got to keep all these things in mind.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Never a candidate would never miss an opportunity to be
- 20:00Speaker 1: interviewed by the media, good or bad.
- 20:02Speaker 3: It's it's free advertisement.
- 20:04Speaker 1: For you, you know, and you want to get out there
- 20:07Speaker 1: and be able to be interviewed and say what you
- 20:09Speaker 1: want to say.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Let's get to the phone lines real quick. I have
- 20:11Speaker 2: Ken Ken. Thank you so much for calling your Live
- 20:14Speaker 2: with Jeene Stouth here on eleven ten kfab.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Hey, good morning, thanks for taking my call. Good morning,
- 20:19Speaker 4: and I hope you never get second hearing this, but
- 20:21Speaker 4: you are a class act, my dear, so classy. I
- 20:23Speaker 4: just want you to know that.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Hey. I've had this question for a long time, and yes,
- 20:28Speaker 4: I've asked my girlfriend, my mom, my sister. Some of
- 20:31Speaker 4: them knew they were pregnant right away. They have morning
- 20:33Speaker 4: sickness that didn't feel right. Whatnot? Why on God's greener
- 20:37Speaker 4: does it take some women five six seven, sometimes up
- 20:40Speaker 4: to the point of having the kid, of saying they
- 20:43Speaker 4: didn't know they were pregnant. I mean, aren't there science?
- 20:45Speaker 4: I mean I know everyone is different, yes, but how
- 20:48Speaker 4: can someone make the argument I didn't know I was
- 20:50Speaker 4: pregnant until it popped out. I didn't know I was
- 20:52Speaker 4: pregnant for six months. It seems to me if you
- 20:55Speaker 4: have any sense of responsibility whatsoever, if you have unprotected
- 20:59Speaker 4: sex within if you missed a period or two you
- 21:02Speaker 4: know you're pregnant or know something's wrong, can you explain
- 21:05Speaker 4: to me why and what rationale it takes someone that
- 21:08Speaker 4: wrong to know the pregnant.
- 21:09Speaker 5: God bless you.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Don't hang up and listen, thank you.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I think the bottom line is everybody is different. Every
- 21:14Speaker 1: woman is different, and you know, some have morning sickness.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Some women don't even have periods, and so they don't
- 21:21Speaker 1: even know that they've missed a period. I will tell
- 21:24Speaker 1: you a personal story. When I was in nursing school
- 21:27Speaker 1: in Illinois, one of my rotations was ob GYN and
- 21:32Speaker 1: I remember being in a Saint Louis hospital where we
- 21:36Speaker 1: were doing our OBI rotations, and I remember a very
- 21:41Speaker 1: very young girl going into the delivery room getting ready
- 21:45Speaker 1: to deliver. She was fifteen years old, and she was screaming,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I'm not pregnant, I'm not pregnant, I'm not pregnant. What
- 21:53Speaker 1: do you say? What are you talking about? I'm pregnant,
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm having a baby. Honest to god, she acted like
- 22:00Speaker 1: and I think she was sincere. She had no clue
- 22:03Speaker 1: and we were delivering her baby at the time. So
- 22:06Speaker 1: I think, you know, there's a lot of things that
- 22:09Speaker 1: go into this, and I can't I can't say all
- 22:12Speaker 1: of it. You would think that every single woman would
- 22:15Speaker 1: have an idea that something is changing with her body,
- 22:18Speaker 1: because it definitely does change when you are pregnant. But
- 22:22Speaker 1: I don't know whether it's some women try to ignore it,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you know, and there is and I don't want anybody
- 22:29Speaker 1: saying I'm body slamming or body shaming or anything, but
- 22:32Speaker 1: a lot of women that are obese are very overweight.
- 22:37Speaker 1: A lot of the times, they really don't show a lot.
- 22:41Speaker 1: They don't have a big belly. I mean, it's just
- 22:44Speaker 1: the way it is. It's just how their body is
- 22:47Speaker 1: made up. And so, yes, you would think that most
- 22:50Speaker 1: women would know, but I think every woman is different,
- 22:53Speaker 1: and I think a lot of times it's very young
- 22:56Speaker 1: women that just don't get the signs that they are
- 23:00Speaker 1: pregnant or think that they could be pregnant, or maybe
- 23:03Speaker 1: they're just trying to ignore it. I don't know, but boy,
- 23:06Speaker 1: I tell you I knew I've had two kids.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I knew right away.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I mean, there was all sorts of things that were
- 23:12Speaker 1: signs that I thought, even before I got a test done.
- 23:15Speaker 1: It was like something's going on here, something's a little
- 23:18Speaker 1: bit different here. But that experience that I had, I
- 23:22Speaker 1: will never forget of this woman as we were delivering
- 23:24Speaker 1: her baby, this young woman, very young woman, fifteen year
- 23:27Speaker 1: old teenager, screaming.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I'm not pregnant. What are you doing? I'm not pregnant.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It was just it was unbelievable.
- 23:33Speaker 2: We're going to cut to the phones for a few
- 23:34Speaker 2: minutes for zero two five five, eight, eleven ten. Comment
- 23:38Speaker 2: at kfab dot com. Kevin, thanks for holding on for
- 23:41Speaker 2: us over that break. You are live with Jeane Stuthart
- 23:44Speaker 2: here on eleven ten kfab.
- 23:46Speaker 6: Yeah. Thank you Maryage Stouth and thank you kfab for
- 23:49Speaker 6: getting the truth out about what's happening with our media.
- 23:53Speaker 6: Not only is the Omaha World Herald, but other media
- 23:55Speaker 6: outlets in Omaha to take a leftist and are being
- 23:59Speaker 6: said by left us money. I think City Council and
- 24:03Speaker 6: Breaker Harding would be a great hiresman. And I just
- 24:06Speaker 6: appreciate this show, and I'm glad that we have some
- 24:10Speaker 6: support coming from somebody who understands the political situation not
- 24:16Speaker 6: only in Omaha but in the state of Nebraska in
- 24:19Speaker 6: the United States of America. So thank you, Mayor Stothard.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I'll just plead your comment.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Oh thank thank you, Kevin.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for your call too. I appreciate you saying that.
- 24:29Speaker 1: You know again, I'm going to go back to the
- 24:31Speaker 1: Omaha World Herald and just my opinion how that it
- 24:34Speaker 1: has become a leftist newspaper. I hope they change that. However,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I'm going to give another example, and it has to
- 24:43Speaker 1: do with me. I don't always want this to be
- 24:45Speaker 1: about me, But when when Mary Ewing did his State
- 24:49Speaker 1: of the City address and they did a big front
- 24:52Speaker 1: page article on it and talked about all these accomplishments
- 24:55Speaker 1: and all of these things going on, you know there,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I think they're with maybe two issues that they mentioned
- 25:03Speaker 1: that Mayor Ewing initiated, and that was the fifty million
- 25:08Speaker 1: extra from the Lows years for affordable housing. But every
- 25:13Speaker 1: other issue that they talked about were started by me
- 25:18Speaker 1: in my administration, and they never mentioned that once. They
- 25:22Speaker 1: never challenged him, They never challenged that the mutual of
- 25:26Speaker 1: Omaha Tower. He really has nothing to do with it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: He had nothing to do with the new library at
- 25:31Speaker 1: seventy second and Dodge. I mean I can go on
- 25:33Speaker 1: and on the street car for example. I mean that
- 25:36Speaker 1: was criticized during our campaign bitterly. He was calling it
- 25:40Speaker 1: the folly trolley and the trolley to nowhere, one hundred
- 25:43Speaker 1: percent for it. Now, none of that was really challenged.
- 25:46Speaker 1: The streets out in Elcorn on skyline that he promised,
- 25:49Speaker 1: another promise that he made, and I stood next to
- 25:51Speaker 1: him many times of saying no more potholes, no more sinkholes. Well,
- 25:56Speaker 1: if I'm elected mayor, well you know, I'm not blaming
- 25:59Speaker 1: the mayor for any potholes and sinkholes. But these are
- 26:02Speaker 1: just things that were said over and over. Nobody's challenging that.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Nobody is challenging that, nobody is challenging. How much he's
- 26:09Speaker 1: been out of town on the first three hundred and
- 26:12Speaker 1: sixty five days of his mayoral ship, and they just
- 26:18Speaker 1: crucified me every time I went out of town. So
- 26:21Speaker 1: you know, I beg the question of why these things
- 26:25Speaker 1: are not being challenged, and it's just given them a pass.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Here's another example. Sunday morning Sunday's paper. The front page
- 26:35Speaker 1: article above the fold and below the fold was about
- 26:38Speaker 1: the detainees describing life in Nebraska's ice facility. And if
- 26:43Speaker 1: you read this, they interview one man on the front page.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I think that there are others that they go through,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and it just sounds the way they write it just
- 26:55Speaker 1: absolutely deplorable there. However, I'm aware of others. Peyton is
- 27:02Speaker 1: aware of others that we know that have been sent
- 27:06Speaker 1: there and paint a completely different picture of this facility
- 27:13Speaker 1: that is in McCook. Now why is that, I mean,
- 27:17Speaker 1: why is only the one person interviewed that makes it
- 27:20Speaker 1: sound like it is horrible there? It just doesn't seem
- 27:26Speaker 1: like a very fair article.
- 27:27Speaker 2: No gene, And I'm sure that it's not like staying
- 27:30Speaker 2: in the Hilton Hotel.
- 27:32Speaker 3: They're not getting warm.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Towels and stuff. But here's the thing, and I won't
- 27:37Speaker 2: spend too long on this, but I had a soccer
- 27:39Speaker 2: teammate who couldn't speak any English from Nicaragua and he
- 27:43Speaker 2: got taken to McCook Detention Center probably six weeks ago. Okay,
- 27:49Speaker 2: he went to go pay a fine or pay a
- 27:51Speaker 2: ticket at the courthouse and they picked him up and
- 27:53Speaker 2: they took him, he was given a tablet, he was
- 27:57Speaker 2: able to go outside and play soccer every day. He
- 28:01Speaker 2: was able to have phone calls, he was able to
- 28:05Speaker 2: contact people. He had a court case that was supposed
- 28:07Speaker 2: to be today. But he was able to get his
- 28:11Speaker 2: a visa and his citizenship taken care of because he
- 28:14Speaker 2: was already in the process of it while they picked
- 28:16Speaker 2: him up. And so he was able to go through
- 28:19Speaker 2: these things. He was able to we raise some money
- 28:21Speaker 2: for him, because it can be expensive. That's a lot
- 28:23Speaker 2: of the obstacles for people that are trying to get
- 28:26Speaker 2: citizenship is how much it costs. And now he's back,
- 28:29Speaker 2: he's here again. He came back, he's with his girlfriend,
- 28:32Speaker 2: he's playing soccer again. And his experience was it wasn't enjoyable,
- 28:36Speaker 2: but it was a deplora. He wasn't drinking sewer water
- 28:39Speaker 2: and eating dog.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Food, right, And that's what they say in this article.
- 28:42Speaker 1: They said the food is comparable to dog food. They
- 28:45Speaker 1: said that the water was dirty and smelled like sewer water.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And we're not we're not hearing that from everyone, and
- 28:53Speaker 1: you gave just a very good example of that. So gosh,
- 28:59Speaker 1: I mean, I wish we would just you know. I
- 29:01Speaker 1: used to take the New York Times too, and I
- 29:02Speaker 1: don't anymore because that's so biased. The only one I
- 29:06Speaker 1: really really read to get some good national news is
- 29:09Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal.
- 29:11Speaker 3: But I like their editorials.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I think they have really good editorials in there, and
- 29:14Speaker 1: they allow people to speak, and so I do read that.
- 29:17Speaker 1: But boy, I wish we would have I wish they
- 29:21Speaker 1: would hold people accountable, but they would always give both
- 29:24Speaker 1: sides of the story. My example of when Mary Ewing
- 29:29Speaker 1: gave the State of the City that I just talked about,
- 29:32Speaker 1: they did not mention at all that all of these
- 29:34Speaker 1: things had already been started, you know, and this is
- 29:39Speaker 1: just what happens. Do you know that when the new
- 29:42Speaker 1: library opened, the new library at seventy second in Dodge,
- 29:45Speaker 1: that and not to say it was just me because
- 29:49Speaker 1: so many people were involved in Heritage Foundation was so involved.
- 29:53Speaker 1: That's one hundred and fifty eight million dollar building there
- 29:56Speaker 1: at seventy second in Dodge. The city put in twenty
- 29:59Speaker 1: The rest is private money. This is what's great about Omaha.
- 30:02Speaker 1: We have these great public private partnerships, very generous people
- 30:07Speaker 1: that will put their money into this city owned facility.
- 30:11Speaker 1: And that was already almost done, and the building was
- 30:15Speaker 1: already underway and really almost done. I had been in
- 30:18Speaker 1: there many times when with a hard hat before I
- 30:21Speaker 1: left office. And you know, I wasn't even invited to
- 30:25Speaker 1: that grand opening on a Sunday until a Friday, the
- 30:29Speaker 1: friday night before, two days before. After I called somebody
- 30:33Speaker 1: and said, you know, I was so involved with getting
- 30:36Speaker 1: this going, getting it done, I wasn't even invited during
- 30:40Speaker 1: the ceremony, I went. They invited me at the last minute.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I went, and when they cut the ribbon, it was
- 30:46Speaker 1: all inside. They invited probably thirty people up on the
- 30:50Speaker 1: stage to cut the ribbon. Mayor you and cut the ribbon,
- 30:53Speaker 1: and I was told to remain seated. So this is
- 30:57Speaker 1: how Yeah, I know, media, it was all over that place.
- 31:01Speaker 1: You know, you might you might think somebody would have thought, hmm,
- 31:05Speaker 1: you know, Jean's souther didn't even stand up there and
- 31:07Speaker 1: cut their ribbon. And I know this was her project.
- 31:09Speaker 1: But come on, media, I think we I'm really challenging
- 31:13Speaker 1: you now. I've experienced it. I've worked with you for
- 31:17Speaker 1: many many years. But man, show both sides of the story.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yes, Rich, I see you on the phone lines. We're
- 31:23Speaker 2: gonna be with you in just a moment. Here. Tom
- 31:25Speaker 2: sent to comment at kfab dot com. Geene, where have
- 31:29Speaker 2: you been? We canceled that paper over ten years ago.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Got to pay attention. There's a reason they're failing. And
- 31:34Speaker 2: then Rob sent an email and said, I missed the
- 31:37Speaker 2: World hecke excuse me, the World Herald that was around
- 31:40Speaker 2: for decades. Yes, many years ago. I was speaking and
- 31:44Speaker 2: I said, we all know the World Herald doesn't make mistakes.
- 31:47Speaker 2: That was met with laughter. And at the time they
- 31:49Speaker 2: were top notch and considered a reliable secondary source.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Yes, and I know there are many people though that
- 31:54Speaker 1: still say, well, if it's in the World Herald, it
- 31:56Speaker 1: must be true. But you know, I used to whenever
- 31:59Speaker 1: i'd be before I did the State of the City
- 32:01Speaker 1: and before I presented the budget, we would call down
- 32:05Speaker 1: to the World Herald and I would say, I will
- 32:07Speaker 1: come down and present it to you all first, so
- 32:09Speaker 1: you can ask me questions and we could get a
- 32:12Speaker 1: really good, accurate story. And they took me up on it,
- 32:15Speaker 1: and I would go down there and they would bring
- 32:17Speaker 1: some reporters in, they would bring their editorial staff in,
- 32:19Speaker 1: they would bring their editor in, and I would go
- 32:22Speaker 1: and I would bring some of my team in and
- 32:24Speaker 1: we would go over the entire budget so that they
- 32:27Speaker 1: would really understand it and be able to ask me
- 32:29Speaker 1: questions and just not write a story on the presentation
- 32:32Speaker 1: that you would do in front, you know, in front
- 32:35Speaker 1: of the people in the legislative chamber. And as the
- 32:37Speaker 1: years went on, they said no, thanks, and I wasn't
- 32:41Speaker 1: able to do that anymore. They weren't interested in me
- 32:45Speaker 1: doing that anymore. And I thought that was a really
- 32:48Speaker 1: telling thing.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Going back to the world, Harold, and we're going to
- 32:51Speaker 2: Rich on the phone lines, thank you for hanging on there. Rich.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Sounds like you got a story for us. You're live
- 32:56Speaker 2: with Jean's author.
- 32:58Speaker 7: Well taken off on a different track. Your father called
- 33:04Speaker 7: in and said, how can ladies not know they're pregnant?
- 33:09Speaker 5: I used to work in the years ago on a
- 33:12Speaker 5: retired notice now and uh, we had a lady come in,
- 33:17Speaker 5: a rather heavy set lady, and she was heavy belly.
- 33:20Speaker 7: Pay worked her up and yes, she's pregnant. She was
- 33:24Speaker 7: a labor.
- 33:27Speaker 5: She uh, you know, We're asked her, didn't you know
- 33:31Speaker 5: you were pregnant? Didn't you baby moving or anything?
- 33:36Speaker 7: And then her best ozark accent.
- 33:39Speaker 5: She goes, well, I'm just thought it was one of
- 33:41Speaker 5: them mobile rumors.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Unbelievable. I'm telling you, it's it.
- 33:47Speaker 1: But every I will say this, so every woman is
- 33:52Speaker 1: really different. I have a friend that listens to this
- 33:54Speaker 1: show all the time, and she had quite a few
- 33:58Speaker 1: fertility problems and she had I believe too, babies through fertility,
- 34:06Speaker 1: you know, in vitro. And she was over forty years old.
- 34:11Speaker 1: If you're listening, you know I'm talking about you. She's
- 34:14Speaker 1: over forty And when COVID hit, she had two little
- 34:17Speaker 1: wins at home and COVID hit and she started feeling
- 34:21Speaker 1: really sick because she she couldn't She felt like she
- 34:23Speaker 1: couldn't have a baby on her own and started not
- 34:26Speaker 1: feeling good. She thought she had COVID. That was right
- 34:28Speaker 1: when COVID hit. So she goes to the doctor. And
- 34:31Speaker 1: this is a forty year old, very smart woman goes
- 34:34Speaker 1: to the doctor and says, oh, I feel terrible. I
- 34:37Speaker 1: think I have COVID. So he does all these tests,
- 34:39Speaker 1: comes back he said, you don't have COVID. Oh good,
- 34:42Speaker 1: you're pregnant. And she had never been able to get
- 34:46Speaker 1: pregnant before. And she I mean she was. She knew
- 34:50Speaker 1: she didn't feel good, but she had no idea. And
- 34:53Speaker 1: do you know she was pregnant with twins. Wow, I
- 34:57Speaker 1: know it.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I know with twins.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I mean, you hear these stories all the time about
- 35:03Speaker 1: women that can't get pregnant, go through all this infertility
- 35:06Speaker 1: and then suddenly, whoop, I'm pregnant, and they don't even
- 35:09Speaker 1: suspect it. I mean, they just think they're not feeling good. Eh,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I'm a little nauseatd Maybe I just don't feel good.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Maybe I got a little flu bug. I mean, there's
- 35:17Speaker 1: all sorts of symptoms that you usually have that early
- 35:20Speaker 1: on that you could attribute to something else. You could say,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I'm just not feeling too good. She thought she had COVID,
- 35:26Speaker 1: she had little babies in her.
- 35:28Speaker 2: When, Wow, what are the odds of that?
- 35:31Speaker 3: I know it, I know it.
- 35:32Speaker 1: So And it's funny because she laughed about it because
- 35:35Speaker 1: she was forty two, and to me, forty two is
- 35:38Speaker 1: still pretty young.
- 35:39Speaker 3: My daughter is forty and she's very young to me.
- 35:42Speaker 1: But they called her a geriatric prey lite because it,
- 35:47Speaker 1: I mean, that is quite old for somebody to have
- 35:50Speaker 1: a baby and have twins too.
- 35:53Speaker 2: And Jeane, you got something in the mail a few
- 35:56Speaker 2: days ago that is very very relevant to something that
- 36:00Speaker 2: we talked about on the show.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Yes, there was a caller if you're listening today, that said,
- 36:05Speaker 1: you received a letter for insurance for your water lines
- 36:11Speaker 1: from the city. And you said, this city is replacing
- 36:16Speaker 1: these water lines, and if they are doing it, then
- 36:20Speaker 1: why do we need insurance? And I came back and
- 36:22Speaker 1: I said, you know, I had talked to Mark Doyle,
- 36:24Speaker 1: who's the president of MUD, and it is and I
- 36:28Speaker 1: should have known this in the beginning.
- 36:29Speaker 3: But the city is not replacing those water lines.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's MUD that is doing that, and the city is
- 36:37Speaker 1: not sending out letters about insurance. Because the caller said,
- 36:41Speaker 1: why do I need insurance if I have a new
- 36:43Speaker 1: water line?
- 36:43Speaker 3: Well you don't.
- 36:44Speaker 1: But Mark Doyle told me that they are working with
- 36:47Speaker 1: one company, and it didn't sound like that they were
- 36:49Speaker 1: working in collaboration with them if you were getting this letter. Now,
- 36:53Speaker 1: come to find out, just last week, I get a
- 36:56Speaker 1: letter in the mail and it is from It says
- 36:59Speaker 1: waterline in Information for the homeowners. It has my address
- 37:02Speaker 1: and then it's from American Water Resources of Nebraska. I
- 37:07Speaker 1: sent my letter to Mark Doyle with Mud, and he
- 37:11Speaker 1: said he has no idea who these people are, and
- 37:13Speaker 1: he said they are. Mud is not working with these people.
- 37:17Speaker 1: So the bottom line is, if you get something from
- 37:19Speaker 1: American Water Resources of Nebraska, my recommendation would be to
- 37:23Speaker 1: file it in your trash can because this is not
- 37:27Speaker 1: somebody that Mud is working with.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It is true they say in the very beginning that
- 37:32Speaker 1: you should know that the exterior water surface surface line
- 37:37Speaker 1: that runs from your property into your house on your
- 37:42Speaker 1: property is your responsibility, and it is.
- 37:44Speaker 3: It is so.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I mean, if you had trouble with your water line
- 37:47Speaker 1: on your property, you call a plumber. But what they
- 37:51Speaker 1: are trying to sell you kind of a line here
- 37:55Speaker 1: saying if you pay them to ensure it, then you
- 38:00Speaker 1: are covered. And it talks about different types of materials
- 38:04Speaker 1: used in lines and stuff. I would say, just to
- 38:07Speaker 1: let you know, this is not anybody Mud is working with.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Gene, I'm going to bring this up to you. We
- 38:12Speaker 2: have about two or three minutes here, and this is
- 38:15Speaker 2: a feedback from a listener named Tom and he said,
- 38:18Speaker 2: I listened to your show with Dennis Crawford and I
- 38:21Speaker 2: listed again on the podcast. At no time did he
- 38:24Speaker 2: seem angry and he presented facts and reason, but you
- 38:27Speaker 2: did not challenge him. I believe you took a lot
- 38:30Speaker 2: of heat from your Fox News fed listeners and are
- 38:34Speaker 2: just trying to save face with them and KFAB management.
- 38:38Speaker 2: If you are honest about your constant claims of your
- 38:42Speaker 2: show reflecting all views, you should invite Dennis Crawford back
- 38:46Speaker 2: and abate him if you can. My guess is you
- 38:49Speaker 2: do not want to be challenged by facts.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Well, I would like to say, how do you know
- 38:55Speaker 3: everything that he said was factual? Because I sure didn't.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I say that you know, anything goes and it's your
- 39:03Speaker 1: chance to sound off. Dennis Crawford asked if he could
- 39:05Speaker 1: come on the show, and I said he sure could.
- 39:09Speaker 1: But the reason I didn't challenge him is because I
- 39:12Speaker 1: wasn't sitting here to debate him. I mean, I said
- 39:15Speaker 1: he could come on and say what he wanted to say.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I couldn't come back and challenge the facts, not the facts,
- 39:24Speaker 1: the figures that he was giving out because I didn't
- 39:27Speaker 1: have time to fact check him. But the reason I
- 39:29Speaker 1: didn't challenge him had nothing to do with my Fox
- 39:33Speaker 1: News friends or my KFAB management. It was because I
- 39:38Speaker 1: was allowing him to speak up and sound off. Like
- 39:42Speaker 1: I say at the beginning of every single show, and
- 39:45Speaker 1: I also say at the beginning of every single show
- 39:48Speaker 1: that you're going to hear plenty of opinions from me, and.
- 39:51Speaker 3: So I gave you my opinion.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Afterwards, I still haven't been able to, you know, fact
- 39:57Speaker 1: check all of the figures that Dennis Crawford was talking about.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Did I agree with him? Did I vote for Kamala Harris?
- 40:05Speaker 1: Did I think Obama Barack Obama was one of the
- 40:08Speaker 1: best presidents ever? No, but that's okay, that's my opinion,
- 40:13Speaker 1: that's his opinion, and so I let him sound off.
- 40:16Speaker 1: I don't see any reason to come back and sound
- 40:19Speaker 1: off again. I think that he made it very clear
- 40:21Speaker 1: how he feels, and that's what this show was all about.
- 40:24Speaker 3: But there wasn't anything as far as Fox News or
- 40:27Speaker 3: KFAB management or anything else that made me not challenge him.
- 40:32Speaker 3: I just didn't want to. I didn't want a debate him.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Thank you for the feedback, Tom and Gene. As we're
- 40:36Speaker 2: wrapping up the show here, I guess we have a
- 40:39Speaker 2: really fun guest on Wednesday.
- 40:40Speaker 1: We've got some fun guests lined up and we're going
- 40:42Speaker 1: to have more but Jeff Beels with Grow Omaha is
- 40:45Speaker 1: going to be on the show on this Wednesday with
- 40:48Speaker 1: me and everybody loves Jeff and Trenton on Saturday with the.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Grow Omaha Show.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I always used to tell him I learned more about
- 40:56Speaker 1: Omaha from them than I did from the Planning Department,
- 40:58Speaker 1: even though I loved the Planning Apartment. But Jeff will
- 41:01Speaker 1: be here and we're going to talk about all things Omaha.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And then I last week I had the mayor of
- 41:06Speaker 1: Ralston on, Mayor Don Grosser, And on the eighth of July,
- 41:12Speaker 1: I am going to have Jill Sudak, who is the
- 41:15Speaker 1: new mayor of Council Bluffs, So we're going to talk
- 41:18Speaker 1: about Counsel Bluffs too. But this is it for us
- 41:21Speaker 1: today and I want to thank you for listening and
- 41:24Speaker 1: thank you for being with us. We hope you join
- 41:26Speaker 1: us again tomorrow. I am Jean Stothard and this is
- 41:29Speaker 1: eleven ten Kyfab
