- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I got it.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We'll talk college basketball. And also Michael Chandler, mma fighter. Yes,
- 0:39Speaker 2: we just finished the interview with him five minutes ago.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That was awesome. Dude, so cool to me. I mean,
- 0:44Speaker 1: he would kill you. I've only met like a handful
- 0:47Speaker 1: of UFC fighters and they're just unbelievable people because yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: they will murder you in one punch, but also it
- 0:53Speaker 1: so calm.
- 0:53Speaker 2: He's so calm, so well thought out, like and I
- 0:56Speaker 2: mentioned it to him one of our mutual friends, Michael
- 0:59Speaker 2: Chanler of myself was like, he's really smart, Like, don't
- 1:02Speaker 2: think some fighters coming in.
- 1:03Speaker 1: There was like, oh must fight you think that? Well?
- 1:07Speaker 2: You think that possibly he hasn't had to focus on
- 1:09Speaker 2: a certain part of his life because he's been so
- 1:10Speaker 2: good at another. Therefore, why would he you only focus
- 1:13Speaker 2: on the part you're being celebrated.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Like I have four kids, and there are two where
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm like, you need to go to school, like you're
- 1:20Speaker 1: you're not gonna be an athlete, and they are the
- 1:21Speaker 1: other two like you don't need to study. Dude, you're good,
- 1:23Speaker 1: You're going to be an athlete.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I don't know that i'd tell you that. So yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 2: And I just DMed him that's it. Because he lives
- 1:32Speaker 2: in town. I was like, hey, we come up because
- 1:34Speaker 2: he's doing something with Covenant. There was a shooting here
- 1:36Speaker 2: about a year ago and he was selling these hats
- 1:39Speaker 2: and donating the proceeds and I was like, hey, come up,
- 1:42Speaker 2: and he's like, yeah, no problem, And I guess he
- 1:43Speaker 2: leaves for camp a couple of days. It's the last day.
- 1:46Speaker 2: So we got very fortunate. But I never sat with
- 1:49Speaker 2: an MMA fighter before.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's pretty awesome.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It's crazy to think that I could just jump up
- 1:53Speaker 3: and just kill you.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but he won't. But he won't because he's a
- 1:56Speaker 1: very peaceful man.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Unless the rattlesnakes tail gets stepped on right right, then
- 2:01Speaker 2: that snake wills straight. So that's coming up just a
- 2:03Speaker 2: little bit. But now let's go to the tittle Tattle.
- 2:08Speaker 2: His name ever The Tittle Tattle.
- 2:11Speaker 4: With weekend one in the books, which team impressing most
- 2:17Speaker 4: over the weekend?
- 2:18Speaker 2: It was a weird weekend where there weren't that many Cinderelli's.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I like a few.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I like a few more than there were. It's kind
- 2:23Speaker 2: of boring. A lot of blowouts. Yeah, Purdue always, at
- 2:28Speaker 2: least in recent memory, they've always kind of craft the
- 2:30Speaker 2: bed and it's here comes Purdue one or two seed,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and next thing, you know, auty five thousand. But they
- 2:36Speaker 2: won both games combined an average of thirty three points.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, they're murdered and I don't trust.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Them still, but it's been a really cool look for
- 2:47Speaker 2: them because they have dominated in the way they're supposed
- 2:50Speaker 2: to dominate.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Duke has played well.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, shockingly, they've won by about thirty points a game. Clemson,
- 2:57Speaker 2: a six seed, beats New Mexico. Okay, they should have
- 2:59Speaker 2: won that, but then they beat Baylor.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Was crazy.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It's a great game.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Arizona's been really good. They won both their games about
- 3:05Speaker 2: twenty or so.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's who I have winning it at all. But I
- 3:07Speaker 1: don't know. I'm not convinced enough. I know, I think
- 3:11Speaker 1: I think that their matchups have been pretty good, Like
- 3:13Speaker 1: they handle their business and they're fine. They're a fine team.
- 3:16Speaker 1: But dude, Purdue is so good. And not only is
- 3:18Speaker 1: it all in the seven foot four dude likes Zach Edie.
- 3:22Speaker 1: They have shooters, so I mean with that, I think
- 3:24Speaker 1: they're dominant. And then Yukon is just so dominant.
- 3:26Speaker 2: The crazy thing about this tournament is you just survive.
- 3:30Speaker 2: It's almost like wipe away what's happened in the past,
- 3:33Speaker 2: let's go again. Like I think Houston can still win
- 3:35Speaker 2: it all, even after they struggle with Texas A and
- 3:36Speaker 2: M like they did so close. Man, I think Houston
- 3:38Speaker 2: is good again. Matchups mean so much who they're playing,
- 3:41Speaker 2: how they play. But if you just survive, it's almost
- 3:44Speaker 2: like you're starting over, and if you're really good, you're
- 3:46Speaker 2: really good again. It doesn't it's not based on what
- 3:48Speaker 2: happened last game. If so, then Houston would lose Thursday.
- 3:52Speaker 2: The playoffs that Texas A and M game, TAXA A
- 3:56Speaker 2: and M is so many free throws.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I think I could have shot.
- 3:59Speaker 2: As well as they did. And I don't remember the
- 4:00Speaker 2: exact step, but it was like twenty five of forty
- 4:03Speaker 2: two or something at one point when the game was
- 4:05Speaker 2: an overtime and they were missing him in overtime two. Yes,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I was beside myself, going, I can choose twenty five
- 4:11Speaker 2: or forty two?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Could we though? And then bad passes too, go ahead
- 4:17Speaker 1: three pointers? Yes, bad shot shot.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I forget sometimes that these kids are seventeen eighties, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 4: and then you see these free throw seventeen Kevin, but yeah, okay, eighteen,
- 4:27Speaker 4: nineteen twenty maybe twenty one, right, and you're like, you
- 4:29Speaker 4: know what, Yeah, that's pretty tough on that stage, Like
- 4:32Speaker 4: that's tough.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Well, some of those dudes don't look twenty one.
- 4:35Speaker 2: They don't. And that's what's confusing, is that like a
- 4:38Speaker 2: Jeni Brew from Auburn, Right, Yeah, man, I won't talk
- 4:41Speaker 2: about Auburn losing yet, but I'll talk about how we
- 4:44Speaker 2: would be with him working out with him and he
- 4:48Speaker 2: is a seven foot tall dude. Yeah, man, Like it's
- 4:52Speaker 2: like you just worship this person who could crush you.
- 4:56Speaker 2: But then when he talks like, yes, sir he's a kid.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and you remember, oh yeah, inside of this
- 5:02Speaker 2: humongous frame, this athlete, there's still a kid in there,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and they're affected by a lot of different things. But
- 5:09Speaker 2: I couldn't believe they miss so many free twenty nine.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Of forty five.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That's a terrible man has so many crazy it's what
- 5:14Speaker 2: lost in the game. Yeah, all right, next up?
- 5:15Speaker 4: All right, After losing to Oakland in the first round,
- 5:18Speaker 4: do you think Kentucky needs to move on from Cali Perry?
- 5:21Speaker 2: No, I don't unless they have somebody ready to go.
- 5:24Speaker 2: The worst thing they could do is go, We're going
- 5:26Speaker 2: to buy them out for thirty three million bucks. Remember
- 5:28Speaker 2: we signed that lifetime contract, which is basically, if they
- 5:31Speaker 2: want them out, they got to pay a humongous buyout,
- 5:33Speaker 2: which is thirty three million dollars. Hey, they've sucked. You
- 5:36Speaker 2: talk about a Purdue type situation. They're one of four
- 5:39Speaker 2: in their past five and CAA tournament games. It's been bad.
- 5:43Speaker 2: He's had great recruiting classes every year. It's been this
- 5:46Speaker 2: is the best recruiting class if he's going to do it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: But the one and done is starting to not be
- 5:51Speaker 2: near as effective because kids are staying a little longer
- 5:54Speaker 2: because they can make an I own money. Therefore, that's
- 5:56Speaker 2: why Oakland be them. They had twenty eight year olds.
- 5:58Speaker 2: They had a thirty five year old worked at the
- 6:00Speaker 2: bar playing on the Oakland team. You know those are men.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I mean they literally up against twenty.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Four year olds.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And so Harball did this at Michigan where he restructured
- 6:09Speaker 2: his contract when it wasn't going well for him. He
- 6:11Speaker 2: had a massive buyout and I think they probably wanted
- 6:14Speaker 2: to move on from Harball. But what he did is
- 6:16Speaker 2: he restructured it and said, Okay, we'll take the buyout
- 6:18Speaker 2: down to I'll just give a number five bucks and
- 6:21Speaker 2: give me another two years. And they did, and then
- 6:23Speaker 2: he won. I think they could do that with Calipari,
- 6:25Speaker 2: give him another year or two, but only on the
- 6:29Speaker 2: agreement that they would take his thirty three million dollar
- 6:32Speaker 2: buyout down. Otherwise you're gonna pay that, then go pay
- 6:35Speaker 2: a new coach, and then who're gonna get to come coach.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm sure the possibilities are endless, but the possibilities they
- 6:42Speaker 2: would want maybe two or.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Three people, and are they going to get them?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Probably not unless they're offering another fifteen million dollars it
- 6:53Speaker 2: doesn't seem like right now is the time. I think
- 6:55Speaker 2: you give them another year or two, one more, at
- 6:58Speaker 2: least one more if he restructure, you just want to
- 6:59Speaker 2: pay thirty three million dollars. That's the money, that's real money,
- 7:02Speaker 2: right next up.
- 7:03Speaker 4: All right, after being the first team to clinch a
- 7:05Speaker 4: playoff spot, are you taking the Celtics or the field?
- 7:07Speaker 4: If they started today?
- 7:08Speaker 2: I would still take the field. I still think that
- 7:10Speaker 2: Denver wins it again. Jokicch is the greatest because he's
- 7:19Speaker 2: not the best. I don't think he's the best at anything.
- 7:22Speaker 2: He's not the best post player, he's not the greatest passer,
- 7:24Speaker 2: he's not the best shooter. Jokicchen, though, is like so
- 7:28Speaker 2: top three in every skill for a guy that looks
- 7:31Speaker 2: like he should be playing reckball, that he can take
- 7:34Speaker 2: a game and turn it into whatever he needs it
- 7:36Speaker 2: to be, depending on who they're playing. There are certain
- 7:39Speaker 2: games second half he won't take any shots. He'll like
- 7:41Speaker 2: no shots because he knows he doesn't need to, because
- 7:43Speaker 2: he just wants to win, and we've seen they can
- 7:47Speaker 2: do it, Yo, Kitchen. Denver is still to me, the dude.
- 7:51Speaker 2: The thing about Boston that scares me honestly is you know,
- 7:55Speaker 2: Tatum be fine, not really an injury history to worry about,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but you know who's got injury.
- 7:59Speaker 5: History or.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Every time he goes up for a rebound.
- 8:03Speaker 5: I would.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And if porzingis is healthy, god, they're awesome. But when
- 8:11Speaker 2: he's not and he's not a lot, they are still
- 8:16Speaker 2: they're really good. I still would go Denver.
- 8:20Speaker 3: So not even the field, just Denver.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Well, they're part of the field. I would take the field.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Do you ask me Field? I still think Denver's my pick,
- 8:28Speaker 2: but Denver they would have to play Denver till the
- 8:29Speaker 2: very end, you know, in the finals if so.
- 8:32Speaker 3: But on the East, like if they played the Heat again, I.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Mean the Heat. I think the Heat stronger this year
- 8:38Speaker 2: they were last year, but I still think that I
- 8:41Speaker 2: think they're better than the Heat.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Who would Kevin take?
- 8:43Speaker 2: Come on, well, he's asking from a biased.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Perspective, what the Heat is the only team I don't
- 8:47Speaker 4: want to play because the Heat, for whatever reason, beat
- 8:50Speaker 4: every team that should beat them hypothetically.
- 8:53Speaker 2: So I guess the only thing that would concern me
- 8:56Speaker 2: a bit one They're up so far that what are
- 8:58Speaker 2: they eleven games or whatever? The eleven games up? Yeah,
- 9:02Speaker 2: you cannot play Porzingis as much. That doesn't matter if
- 9:05Speaker 2: you're playing one minute, he can get hurt.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Of that one minute.
- 9:08Speaker 2: But the problem then becomes and you see this a
- 9:11Speaker 2: lot in baseball, not in football, because it's a one
- 9:13Speaker 2: game situation where rust really does if you want to
- 9:16Speaker 2: be primed.
- 9:16Speaker 1: At the right time, yeah, I wish they started today.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, like you want to be primed. You want to
- 9:21Speaker 2: be really playing your best ball when the playoffs start,
- 9:24Speaker 2: and if you're up ten, twelve, fifteen, twenty games, you've
- 9:27Speaker 2: kind of.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Pulled back a little bit.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And then it's that coaches decision, because this happens a
- 9:31Speaker 2: bit too within the NFL if a team doesn't have
- 9:33Speaker 2: to play their final week or two games, right, and
- 9:36Speaker 2: then it's like, is it rest or? Is it a rust?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Oh? Do you just make that?
- 9:41Speaker 2: No?
- 9:41Speaker 1: No, I didn't make that up, But that's what that takes.
- 9:43Speaker 2: It sounds good rest or rust, and I think Boston's
- 9:46Speaker 2: gonna have to deal with that, But with their injury history,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I think they're the team you'd want to have to
- 9:51Speaker 2: get the option to rest. But I still overall, I
- 9:53Speaker 2: would take the field, and I would take Denver all
- 9:56Speaker 2: right next to NFL.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Here with the Titans trading for Lagarious Need over the weekend,
- 10:00Speaker 4: are they quietly having one of the best off seasons?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Hey? Pretty cool, just from locally speaking, the fact that
- 10:07Speaker 2: they got Calvin Ridley, the fact and let's go DraftKings.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Calvin Ridley, you just set up.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Buddy promo code, let's talk, let's go Tony Pollard. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: that's fun if you're a Cowboys fan. Yeah, it's cool
- 10:25Speaker 2: to happen right down the road. Lugerius Need. They traded
- 10:28Speaker 2: him for what the third rounder? I guess I can't say.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He probably just needed a little bit of relief financially
- 10:35Speaker 2: because he's really good. Really to try for just the
- 10:37Speaker 2: third rounder and no other contract.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Who's their coach?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Who?
- 10:41Speaker 1: The Titans?
- 10:41Speaker 2: The Bengals, Right, that's who came down, right he? I mean,
- 10:46Speaker 2: he's so.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Like they've made so many moves. I forgot about that one,
- 10:49Speaker 1: you know, I remember.
- 10:49Speaker 2: From flying in having the press conference, but he was
- 10:51Speaker 2: so like not a big personality that I just remember
- 10:54Speaker 2: it was the Bengals OC.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, Brian Callahan, there you go. Looks like he's
- 10:58Speaker 6: twelve they added. Just looking at other teams that have
- 11:04Speaker 6: had good off seasons. The Bears added Keenan Allen, which
- 11:07Speaker 6: was surprising but cool.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I mean they're sitting Kayleb Williams up.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, Justin Field is like, what the heck?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Guys the Falcons out of Kirk Cousins, which is cool,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and they have all those weapons.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And then the Jets, because Aaron Rodgers demanded has that,
- 11:22Speaker 2: they've had a three offensive linemen and he needs them.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So that'll be an interesting watch to see if the
- 11:29Speaker 2: Jets do anything this year. I did win an Aaron
- 11:31Speaker 2: Rodgers signed helmet Jets.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Jets.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I've really stopped. I say stopped. Read Gummy back.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I stopped for a while, stop for like a week
- 11:41Speaker 2: and reads like, hey man, let's do a break.
- 11:43Speaker 1: What are you hanging out? Read You're gonna stop being
- 11:45Speaker 1: that bad influencer.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Big time bad influence influence too?
- 11:48Speaker 1: What did I do?
- 11:48Speaker 7: You left your laptop the airport?
- 11:51Speaker 2: That's true because we're just sitting in the car. I
- 11:55Speaker 2: didn't mean like what am I gonna do or send
- 11:57Speaker 2: in the car for two hours? And so I'm like, yes,
- 11:58Speaker 2: want to do a break, And next thing you know,
- 11:59Speaker 2: I'm all for eighteen hour.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Sounds like the atticts make an excuse.
- 12:06Speaker 2: But had you not lost your life?
- 12:07Speaker 1: You love me in the court for two hours, Man,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I had to do it. I get one helmet. I
- 12:12Speaker 1: should coming today.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It's pretty cool that the Jets Aaron Rodgers helmet.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Is it like the typical Jets helmet or is it
- 12:18Speaker 1: weird like some of the other ones.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It's authentic, that's why it's cool. Like this, that one
- 12:22Speaker 2: is awesome. So this is the cream Sickle. It's a
- 12:26Speaker 2: Rendez barber display replica helmet. The difference is you can't
- 12:30Speaker 2: wear this and run into somebody.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll hurt, it'll hurt.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah. So like this one goes for like four hundred
- 12:37Speaker 2: bucks a line. If it were authentic, probably seven hundred
- 12:42Speaker 2: because I guess you could wipe the play.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't know. It's so funny to see that logo
- 12:47Speaker 1: of just reminds me of the terrible Tampa Bay Buccaneer years.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And then you know the original New England Patriots logo.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It just reminds me of just terrible years.
- 12:56Speaker 3: But man, that logo is sweet.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It is cool looking.
- 12:58Speaker 3: That one's cool too.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I hated it when it was their logo. Once it
- 13:03Speaker 2: went away and it was the retro. Now I love
- 13:05Speaker 2: it again. The past, I mean, the Buccaneer Bucks, the Patriots.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I hated the Patriots old logo too. Oh I like
- 13:11Speaker 2: that logo until it went away and then it came back.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Maybe it's because they were terrible.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they were. They weren't a threat ever, so it's like,
- 13:17Speaker 1: that's cute. I like that.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah, o dorm dudes got me. Man. We took them
- 13:23Speaker 2: with us to our private show the second time on Friday.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it was awesome.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's awesome. They're the best. They're they're awesome, and they're
- 13:32Speaker 2: literally college, Like zach'son college and he's like an expert
- 13:36Speaker 2: in memorabilia and he's created this business which is more
- 13:40Speaker 2: than just a TikTok page. It's he is so dialed
- 13:44Speaker 2: into that and I have no idea. I didn't know him.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I just came across the page and then I was like, hey,
- 13:48Speaker 2: come down, I got some questions. You know, I'm launching
- 13:50Speaker 2: I'm not launching anything. We're launching our eBay page. I
- 13:52Speaker 2: guess to sell a lot of this stuff back and
- 13:53Speaker 2: then any profit we get, we're gonna split with Saint Jude.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And so.
- 13:58Speaker 2: They came with us and I can probably call him
- 14:00Speaker 2: right he's he just texted me right.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Now are they streaming?
- 14:10Speaker 2: Hey, we're uh, we're recording the podcast right this second.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So don't say anything that we get you put in jail,
- 14:15Speaker 2: all right.
- 14:16Speaker 7: I don't want to go to jail.
- 14:17Speaker 2: What did you think about the trip we went on
- 14:19Speaker 2: on Friday?
- 14:20Speaker 7: I thought the trip was awesome.
- 14:22Speaker 5: It was a trip of a lifetime.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I wouldn't go that far. But he's got a young
- 14:27Speaker 2: life though, he's got he's like those kids on the
- 14:28Speaker 2: idol and they would say, i'veen waiting my whole life
- 14:30Speaker 2: for this, and I'm like, you're fourteen. But so we
- 14:33Speaker 2: went down and they, you know, watched the show and
- 14:36Speaker 2: I told them I had stopped basically doing breaks, and
- 14:39Speaker 2: then we were waiting on Eddie. Eddie lost his computer
- 14:41Speaker 2: at the airport and I kind of got back in
- 14:42Speaker 2: the game. But I've yet to hit a Tom Brady,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and so I'm back. I'm back on track. I'm trying
- 14:47Speaker 2: to get that bread.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Until you get that Brady.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I don't know if until because man, that's been a
- 14:51Speaker 2: lot of money chasing that Brady.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Con that feeling again, Dude.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I don't I don't even need it. I could have
- 14:57Speaker 2: bought eight Brady helmets at this point do it, but
- 14:59Speaker 2: I haven't. But yeah, No, we were talking about dorm
- 15:03Speaker 2: dudes and how you've really built something super cool there
- 15:05Speaker 2: and uh, you know, just you guys are except for
- 15:08Speaker 2: your buddy, you know, you take or leave him. But
- 15:11Speaker 2: other than I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm totally kidding.
- 15:14Speaker 2: But yeah, that's always wanted to see how what you
- 15:16Speaker 2: thought about the trip on on sat Friday night.
- 15:18Speaker 8: Oh yeah, it was an awesome time and and Shane
- 15:21Speaker 8: and I loved get to see the show as well.
- 15:23Speaker 5: I mean, uh, that was.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Something I didn't even know you did.
- 15:26Speaker 7: To be honest, I didn't know you did stand up.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It was really funny a week and we loved it.
- 15:29Speaker 1: So you laughing, it's just money. You didn't know that
- 15:32Speaker 1: that's what you did.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Shaney was that athlete, Shane the kicker. Yeah, the
- 15:36Speaker 2: guy you just quit. Yeah football crazy. Look at these
- 15:40Speaker 2: guys and.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Then and then he wants to quit school too.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Now they're like, we want we're killing it all right, Zach.
- 15:45Speaker 2: We'll let you get back to work, which I'm gonna
- 15:47Speaker 2: We're gonna check in with Zach later this week because
- 15:49Speaker 2: I hit him up about a certain product. I was like,
- 15:51Speaker 2: what's this thing about? And so he's gonna come on,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and he is a memorabilia expert, so I was like,
- 15:57Speaker 2: give me the like the lowdown on this before I
- 15:59Speaker 2: invest my mind in it. But I've never heard of it.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I've never heard of this thing even existing until now.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And I need to stop putting my money in memorabilia
- 16:07Speaker 2: or I need to put all of it in it
- 16:08Speaker 2: and just commit one of them too. Yes, all right,
- 16:10Speaker 2: Zach talked to you later, dude.
- 16:12Speaker 1: All right, I appreciate the kill off. I see, buddy. Yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 1: good kids.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Do you want to know what the thing is? So
- 16:19Speaker 2: it's called what that's what I do. It's called a
- 16:22Speaker 2: TOPS transcendent and they don't come out. They come out
- 16:24Speaker 2: later this week. One box is twenty thousand dollars.
- 16:27Speaker 1: What a pack of cards? A box of cards?
- 16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, oh boy. And I asked Zach to me the
- 16:33Speaker 2: details on it, because he doesn't do this, he's not
- 16:35Speaker 2: breaking these. He just as his passion. He works with
- 16:40Speaker 2: a lot of people inside the memorabilia business, distributors, et cetera.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And so the reason I saw is because in the
- 16:47Speaker 2: news that talked about how these Top Transcended had a
- 16:49Speaker 2: One of the cards was the Beatles, all for of
- 16:51Speaker 2: them autographed. They took four different autographs into the Beatles
- 16:54Speaker 2: cards worth a whole bunch. But they have people over
- 16:56Speaker 2: the years like Nelson Mandela, they have Aaron Burr, or
- 17:00Speaker 2: they have Alexander Hamilton. Really yes, and so I want
- 17:06Speaker 2: to talk to him about it, maybe on Friday's show.
- 17:09Speaker 1: There'sday Friday Show.
- 17:13Speaker 5: You want?
- 17:13Speaker 7: You want to buy it?
- 17:14Speaker 2: I do?
- 17:14Speaker 7: I know, yeah, I do want it.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Pretty wild in me this world that unless you're in it,
- 17:18Speaker 4: you just don't have it.
- 17:19Speaker 3: You don't even think about it.
- 17:20Speaker 2: That's why I'm so intrigued by it in general.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Why did you find out about this?
- 17:24Speaker 2: I follow an account and have for years that's a
- 17:29Speaker 2: memorabilia account.
- 17:31Speaker 1: And they just started talking about it and they were like.
- 17:32Speaker 2: The new set of Tops Transcendents coming out for twenty
- 17:34Speaker 2: twenty three, and like every.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Card is signed. Every Okay, are you reading about it?
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm looking at some of this historic autograph box.
- 17:43Speaker 2: In every box there's a historic autograph as well.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Okay, that's interesting, Yeah, historic autograph.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But it's like the biggest ball players all signed cards,
- 17:53Speaker 2: and I think some of them, you know, there are
- 17:54Speaker 2: cards and they're worth way more than twenty thousand dollars,
- 17:57Speaker 2: but some of them there aren't. But Tops Trends sendence sets.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Wow, man, if I got.
- 18:04Speaker 2: One of those, we'd break it here on the show.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Here's a twenty twenty two Tops Transcendent Collection baseball box.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's what that's what I saw for how
- 18:16Speaker 1: much of a twenty twenty two five hundred and five
- 18:19Speaker 1: to fifty? That's all right, I don't know. That's the
- 18:21Speaker 1: other one coming out twenty it's twenty thousand. Yeah, this
- 18:22Speaker 1: is five point fifty. Gonna buy it? No, buy now
- 18:25Speaker 1: for five point fifty?
- 18:26Speaker 2: No, no, no, but twenty twenty three.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So when you say autographs like Aaron Burr signed.
- 18:31Speaker 2: The thing, they'd found that they took an Aaron burn signature,
- 18:34Speaker 2: Aaron Burr signature from something and put it in a card.
- 18:37Speaker 1: His real signatures on that card. Yeah, that is unheard of.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I've never heard of such a thing. That's crazy.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I'm trying to find twenty twenty three Times Transcendent, trying
- 18:48Speaker 2: to find that. He'll gets all the details later, but yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 2: that's it. You want to hear a little bit about it.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Here we go twenty gold framed autographs. The twenty twenty
- 18:59Speaker 2: three is are rook showcase autographs, patch autographs. I'm trying
- 19:04Speaker 2: to relic books, la la la, there are Okay, here's
- 19:11Speaker 2: the one about the Beatles. Every box also has a
- 19:14Speaker 2: cut signature. There are dual and quad cut signatures, including
- 19:18Speaker 2: with all four members of the Beatles that are larger.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Do you see the picture. It's like all of them.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And then there are four autographs.
- 19:23Speaker 1: That's crazy, dude, Like, forget Tom Brady. George Washington's autograph
- 19:27Speaker 1: would be amazing to have. I wonder if you could
- 19:30Speaker 1: even find that though, Like that'd be like so awesome
- 19:34Speaker 1: to have.
- 19:35Speaker 2: George Washington.
- 19:37Speaker 9: I see someone like George Washington's DNA yeah hair, Yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 9: for sale, George.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I don't want that.
- 19:44Speaker 2: George Washington autographed on eBay twenty seven thousand dollars. George
- 19:49Speaker 2: Washington authentic cut signature twenty seven thousand dollars. George Washington
- 19:53Speaker 2: frame cut signature nineteen thousand dollars.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, rip that from U A. And who kept that?
- 19:59Speaker 2: It could be from any document. He's not whatsoever as president.
- 20:02Speaker 1: That's crazy, and that means that's somebody who's like, hey, uh,
- 20:05Speaker 1: that's George's here. Let's keep that and then sell it
- 20:10Speaker 1: like one hundred thousands years later.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Listen to this. Here's a card. Oh, I may have
- 20:14Speaker 2: to buy this. It's unbelievable. Listen. Listen to this. George
- 20:19Speaker 2: Washington handwritten word removed from an autographed signed letter. Just
- 20:23Speaker 2: a word.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and the word is penis. No, it's not so
- 20:26Speaker 1: he wrote penis.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, they have all these presidents. I've never
- 20:30Speaker 2: seen this before. Okay, it says offer for the first
- 20:33Speaker 2: time ever, a handwritten word from George Washington encapsulated by
- 20:36Speaker 2: PSA DNA, produced with limited time thirty seven encapsulated cards.
- 20:39Speaker 2: The handwritten word is carefully removed from the remnants of
- 20:41Speaker 2: a letter Washington wrote as president. You will not receive
- 20:44Speaker 2: a copy of the letter from Washington. The fourth image
- 20:47Speaker 2: shown is purely to illustrate where the words came from.
- 20:49Speaker 2: You will only receive the PSA encapsulated word. The The
- 20:55Speaker 2: word was removed from a handwritten letter Washington wrote to
- 20:57Speaker 2: his nephew on February tenth, seventeen ninety six.

- 21:02Speaker 2: I'm buying this right now, guys, pretty legit. You're gonna

- 21:14Speaker 2: Five hundred fifty bucks. We were gonna get.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You then hey, cancel it, Mike Hanseler. Let's see if
- 21:21Speaker 1: he goes through thanke you a cake.

- 21:32Speaker 1: Is it authenticated?
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a James Madison hand written word for two undred
- 21:35Speaker 2: fifteen dollars. He's not his famous Andrew Jackson handwritten word.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Do you wonder what the word is?
- 21:41Speaker 5: Much?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Let's have it one?
- 21:43Speaker 2: Five Thomas Edison hand written words.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Okay, now we're talking. Is it a light bulb?
- 21:48Speaker 2: Thomas tom electricity?
- 21:51Speaker 1: If he wrote the word lightdown, dude, that'd be amazing.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Alexander Hamilton hand written word, two hundred and fifty bucks,
- 21:58Speaker 2: Aaron Boa, George Wall who knew this was the market,
- 22:04Speaker 2: but I just bought one. I wrote, I got the
- 22:06Speaker 2: word the and when George Washington, where are you going
- 22:08Speaker 2: to put that?
- 22:09Speaker 7: Dude?
- 22:09Speaker 2: Who knows. I don't even know. I don't know.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm an idiot.
- 22:12Speaker 10: I have.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I take it out, I play with it just written. Okay,
- 22:19Speaker 2: that's cool. That's a tittle tittle close out out there,
- 22:21Speaker 2: you go the tittle town up. I can't believe I
- 22:29Speaker 2: just bought a handwritten word from George Washington.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't either. You can't. I can't believe that.
- 22:35Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I can't believe they exist. Twenty five whistles presented by
- 22:39Speaker 2: Draft Kings sports book and official sports betting partner of
- 22:41Speaker 2: the NFL. Download the DraftKings app used to code Bobby
- 22:43Speaker 2: Sports to get in on the action. Uh, the Unders
- 22:47Speaker 2: didn't do me so good, I'll be honest. They scored
- 22:48Speaker 2: a little more points this time.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Then they didn't have jitters.
- 22:51Speaker 2: No jitters, I guess went in and started shooting. One
- 22:54Speaker 2: listener said, can I get twenty five bucks back that
- 22:57Speaker 2: I spent on that parlay? And so I said, what's
- 22:58Speaker 2: your venmo? And everyone responded with how it works? I know,
- 23:01Speaker 2: but I was gonna send him the money. I'm not
- 23:03Speaker 2: seeing anybody else the money though.
- 23:04Speaker 3: From this.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 23:04Speaker 3: I put fifty on it.
- 23:05Speaker 2: You did?
- 23:06Speaker 1: He wants his money back.

- 23:19Speaker 2: called one hundred gambler in New York called eight seven
- 23:21Speaker 2: seven eight hope and wire text ope and y four
- 23:23Speaker 2: six seven three six nine.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Okay, I got a couple of things here.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Are baking a cake bracket. Mike had Texas Texas one,
- 23:38Speaker 2: Kevin had Arizona Arizona one, Eddie had Marquette Marquette one.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Now I had Kentucky. They lost ours round. I was like, well,
- 23:45Speaker 2: I'm baking a cake for everybody. Yep, thank god. Auburn
- 23:47Speaker 2: lost Reed's team, so we both lost. And what I
- 23:51Speaker 2: said was we would do something in order to have
- 23:53Speaker 2: a tie breaker, So like what sports trivia? I don't know.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I really can't make the game because I'm in it right,
- 24:01Speaker 2: So that or read, we could just do you bake
- 24:06Speaker 2: one of us, make two of them at cake one.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Bake one.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Nah.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Now it's funny if one person is to make four cakes.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I agree, but I am not in the game. So
- 24:16Speaker 2: what I'll do is, well, whatever it is, I'll Mike
- 24:19Speaker 2: is the executive producer of this show. I'll let Mike
- 24:22Speaker 2: come up with whatever it is. We will do it
- 24:25Speaker 2: on the show later this week. Let's do it, and
- 24:30Speaker 2: then the loser WI have to bake all the cakes?
- 24:31Speaker 7: All right, can you bake?
- 24:34Speaker 5: Read?
- 24:35Speaker 8: No, it's it's gonna be a horrible cake. I'm telling
- 24:37Speaker 8: you right now, four cakes.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Four You should really try, though, Oh I will, Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 2: you'll do your best.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I will.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 2: The Patriots are still open to the number three pick.
- 24:47Speaker 2: How does that make you feel, Kevin, because I would
- 24:49Speaker 2: be annoyed by.
- 24:49Speaker 3: That for trading it.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so open to anybody. Come in, you want it,
- 24:52Speaker 2: come get it.
- 24:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I think it's a mind game for them putting it
- 24:55Speaker 4: out publicly, just letting everybody know, Hey, if you got enough,
- 24:57Speaker 4: then come get it.
- 24:58Speaker 3: But if not, we're gonna stick here.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I wouldn't even want them to be like, come and
- 25:02Speaker 2: get it.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but they need so much. Unless it's Caleb Williams,
- 25:09Speaker 4: I'm open to it.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Who's gonna play quarterback for them? Jacobette, Kobe my guy
- 25:15Speaker 2: to Kobe, then you're not trying to win next time.
- 25:17Speaker 4: No, no, no matter what, We're not trying to win
- 25:19Speaker 4: next year. Even if we drafted Caleb Williams, we still
- 25:22Speaker 4: have Kendrick Bourne has a number one receiver, Hunter Henry
- 25:27Speaker 4: you know, is a tight end. Yeah, I know, like
- 25:29Speaker 4: a real exactly, That's what I'm saying. So it's just
- 25:31Speaker 4: like we need so much. If we trade it down,
- 25:33Speaker 4: if we can get two first rounders, yeah, if we
- 25:36Speaker 4: can get it, for sure, get two first rounders. If
- 25:37Speaker 4: we can get like a Marvin Harrison junior or a Neighbors,
- 25:41Speaker 4: and whether it's a left tackle or quarterback.
- 25:43Speaker 2: You're trading down to one spot maybe because that Marvin
- 25:46Speaker 2: Harrison just gonna go four, Yeah, Arizona. So if you
- 25:49Speaker 2: trade down to four, that one, they're trading up for
- 25:51Speaker 2: one spot and you didn't really want to court. I
- 25:53Speaker 2: don't think you really get them, Mark. I don't really
- 25:55Speaker 2: think you have the option to get a Marvin Harrison
- 25:56Speaker 2: junior if you trade that three.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Even well, Neighbors everyone saying he might even higher now
- 26:00Speaker 4: or yeah, Roman do today, he's just too the offensive linement,
- 26:05Speaker 4: it's really deep.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, lots of tackles, lots of them.
- 26:07Speaker 2: There them. There are like twelve tackles in this draft
- 26:09Speaker 2: that could go before the fourth round or so.
- 26:12Speaker 4: So if you can get like say, wide receiver and
- 26:15Speaker 4: a left tackle, second round draft, Phoenix Penix something.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Like Phoenix, not Poenix, something like that, you just say,
- 26:22Speaker 1: like to say, like a penis. I'm just say.
- 26:24Speaker 4: I'm just saying, and see what happens, enroll with Ja
- 26:27Speaker 4: Kobe and have a young guy. But I do if
- 26:30Speaker 4: they drafted a quarterback, I'd be happy with that too.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It's just not exciting if your team doesn't have a
- 26:34Speaker 2: quarterback that they that they there's hope tied too.
- 26:37Speaker 1: But how are the team like, how does the team
- 26:39Speaker 1: feel just going into a season being like, well, we're
- 26:41Speaker 1: not gonna win this one, but yeah, all right, we
- 26:42Speaker 1: got seventeen weeks ahead of us, let's go.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I think they're just trying to get their money. And
- 26:46Speaker 2: you perform tough man and bro, you know, you get
- 26:50Speaker 2: your analysis and get a bigger contract. So what's up?
- 26:53Speaker 1: They never see Little Giants or whatever that movie is, Like,
- 26:56Speaker 1: there's always a chance I probably did.
- 26:58Speaker 4: I just don't want a quarterback to go in there
- 27:00Speaker 4: and failed in two years and then his whole career.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I hear what you're saying. I think it's a fan
- 27:06Speaker 2: base though. It's like you want to have some great
- 27:09Speaker 2: hope because Mac Jones was that great hope for a while. Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 2: and then once it was there's just no real reason
- 27:16Speaker 2: to You're just hoping they invest properly for the future.
- 27:20Speaker 2: How boring is that for a one k?
- 27:22Speaker 4: Right?
- 27:22Speaker 2: You want your freaking favorite team to be a mutual fund? Okay, okay,
- 27:29Speaker 2: there's that. What else, Otani? The betting things getting a
- 27:34Speaker 2: little weirder.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it started weird.
- 27:36Speaker 9: I'm telling him, it did start weird where it's like
- 27:39Speaker 9: out of your bank translator needed, Like, I'm just telling
- 27:44Speaker 9: you bones that if you needed money to gamble, I
- 27:47Speaker 9: would give you money to gamble.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't pay the gambling.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I'm not even fighting, but yes, I agree.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't pay the gambling straight from my pocket and
- 27:55Speaker 1: be like, oh, it's for Bobby.
- 27:56Speaker 2: And some of those stories about where the line was
- 27:59Speaker 2: was like over under seven and Tani was pitching and
- 28:01Speaker 2: there was a bookie from his hometown that had set
- 28:03Speaker 2: the had bet a million.
- 28:05Speaker 1: It just seemed not a good look, but but hey,
- 28:08Speaker 1: shout out to the interpreter, though, like taking one for
- 28:11Speaker 1: the team if this is the case.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Not a hard one to take if you're offer millions
- 28:15Speaker 2: of dollars. I'm involved for ten million dollars. Yeah, I
- 28:22Speaker 2: did it all. It was all me, nobody else but me.
- 28:26Speaker 2: That this thing will probably get uglier before it gets better.
- 28:29Speaker 3: And this season is just beginning.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's not going to pitch it all this
- 28:34Speaker 2: year because of a surgery. He's only going to play
- 28:39Speaker 2: outfield or that's it.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Oh but he's gonna play.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but he's not gonna.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Pitch at all.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Like, no, none. The l s U women's basketball coach
- 28:47Speaker 2: threaten the lawsuit against the Washington.
- 28:49Speaker 7: Was very strange.
- 28:50Speaker 2: It was weird. She was like, this guy's been hounding me.
- 28:52Speaker 2: But then he said questions to me. Had to answer him,
- 28:53Speaker 2: but he's been asking me. She's weird and she didn't
- 28:56Speaker 2: read the article.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It's just not out.
- 28:57Speaker 2: The article's not out.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Right, so why what are you out yet? She's wild.
- 29:03Speaker 1: She's not likable at all. She's not likable at all.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I like how she dresses, though.
- 29:08Speaker 2: No you don't. You just like that you can tell
- 29:09Speaker 2: who she is when she's on the court. Yeah, Yeah,
- 29:11Speaker 2: she's not likable at all. LSU women's head basketball coach
- 29:15Speaker 2: is accusing The Washington Post of pursuing a hit piece
- 29:17Speaker 2: about her for two years. Said she received the deadline
- 29:20Speaker 2: to answer questions, which was just before tip off of
- 29:22Speaker 2: a tournament game last week. So I guess we're the
- 29:25Speaker 2: bit of a contradictory statement there is they've been pursuing
- 29:29Speaker 2: a piece about her for the last two years, and
- 29:32Speaker 2: they've requested many times to talk with her, which she hasn't,
- 29:35Speaker 2: at least from what I read, said yes to. So
- 29:39Speaker 2: there's always been an article in the works and they're like,
- 29:42Speaker 2: we're going ahead with it, and she's like, well, they
- 29:45Speaker 2: gave me no time to answer questions. It sounds like
- 29:47Speaker 2: they gave me two years to answer questions, but a
- 29:52Speaker 2: personal editorial no factual information at all here. She just
- 29:55Speaker 2: seems shady. You don't wear clothes like that. You high,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you're hiding something the feathers, You're hiding something deep down
- 30:04Speaker 2: that you're taking all the attention away from that by
- 30:07Speaker 2: going look at how crazy I address. I see anything
- 30:12Speaker 2: else that I want to mention before we get over,
- 30:14Speaker 2: I'm gonna talk about draft Kings. But then we'll come
- 30:16Speaker 2: back and we will our interview. It's gonna be awesome.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I think you're really gonna enjoy it, especially if you
- 30:21Speaker 2: love MMA. But for me, I don't know a whole
- 30:23Speaker 2: lot about MMA. But even I thought it was super cool.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It was really cool.
- 30:26Speaker 2: The thrilling excitement of the tournament is here.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Who's gonna want it all? I'll still go Arizona, but
- 30:34Speaker 1: I don't know just because I have them.
- 30:36Speaker 2: My full future is on Yukon that I bet before
- 30:38Speaker 2: the season started, so that would be good. But I mean, man,
- 30:42Speaker 2: looks real good. I do, and I'm just being lured
- 30:44Speaker 2: into the Purdue trail. I'm being lowered.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm not falling that one.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I wanted to pick Tennessee and the Old the old
- 30:52Speaker 2: game we played, and I walked off of it because
- 30:54Speaker 2: I wanted to be a good guy Kentucky.

- 31:51Speaker 1: How do you want to set the interview up? Uh? Yeah, man,
- 31:53Speaker 1: Michael Chandler, this dude is a bad a like. This
- 31:56Speaker 1: dude is awesome. He's been only been in the UFC
- 31:59Speaker 1: for about three years now. He fought a lot, like
- 32:02Speaker 1: with the bellator and all that, but he fights my
- 32:06Speaker 1: Connor McGregor coming up, and he talks about all his
- 32:08Speaker 1: training and what he does to train, and a lot
- 32:11Speaker 1: of inside stuff about UFC. You see him do a
- 32:13Speaker 1: lot of stuff in the octagon, but he goes into
- 32:15Speaker 1: detail and like, oh what does this mean? Does anything hurt?
- 32:17Speaker 1: Stuff like that. You're gonna love this interview?
- 32:19Speaker 2: All right, well, no need to play it now.
- 32:20Speaker 5: I gave all that I know here.
- 32:22Speaker 1: He is Michael Chandler.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Hey, so I saw on your Instagram the hats and
- 32:27Speaker 2: you're raising money for the victims of the Covenant shooting.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Why is that important to you? And you have one
- 32:32Speaker 2: of the hats here too? I do this is this.
- 32:34Speaker 5: Is for you?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Oh thanks, I appreciate that. Of course, this is what
- 32:37Speaker 2: I saw when you posted it. So tell me about this,
- 32:39Speaker 2: why it's important to you, and how you got involved
- 32:41Speaker 2: in this.
- 32:42Speaker 10: So I went to the benefit concert that was last year.
- 32:46Speaker 10: Morgan Wallen donated his time and Jason Alden need to
- 32:49Speaker 10: Breathe and I was there and I got to introduce
- 32:52Speaker 10: Morgan and was able to say a couple of words,
- 32:54Speaker 10: and they gave me a hat that said Covenant on it.
- 32:57Speaker 10: And I have a great relationship with Melon Hats, in
- 32:59Speaker 10: my opinion, the best hats on the.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Plane and Beanies. They do awesome beanies too.
- 33:03Speaker 10: Yeah, and they just came out with some really cool
- 33:05Speaker 10: winter hats. They got a bunch of different ones, the
- 33:06Speaker 10: best hat company on the planet. And I said, hey, guys,
- 33:08Speaker 10: there's something bigger here. You know, I'm wearing this hat.
- 33:11Speaker 10: I felt like I was one of the only ones
- 33:13Speaker 10: who had this kind of best kept secret of if
- 33:16Speaker 10: you remember back to that time and the way Nashville
- 33:19Speaker 10: has stood up for each other and stood by each other,
- 33:23Speaker 10: it really is special. And you see signs all over town,
- 33:26Speaker 10: and I thought, hey, there's there's something.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Bigger that we can do here. So now we you know,
- 33:30Speaker 5: we launched a.
- 33:31Speaker 10: Website, Covenant Hats dot com, and now they're for sale
- 33:34Speaker 10: on Melon dot com as well, and all the proceeds
- 33:37Speaker 10: go toward the Covenant Fund, which is for ongoing resource
- 33:40Speaker 10: for those affected by the tragedy.
- 33:42Speaker 2: We'll also put this in the notes to the show
- 33:44Speaker 2: too on the podcast, so I have to just scroll
- 33:45Speaker 2: down to the notes and we'll have the link so
- 33:47Speaker 2: people can can definitely find the hats. It's you know what,
- 33:49Speaker 2: they make great hats. Yeah yeah, so yeah, that's awesome
- 33:52Speaker 2: that that you do. That Why nash Why do you
- 33:55Speaker 2: love in Nashville?
- 33:56Speaker 5: You know, it's uh.
- 33:58Speaker 10: I can't describe it in the other way than it
- 33:59Speaker 10: was just a god thing, you know. We were I
- 34:02Speaker 10: wanted to I had this big dream of starting a gym.
- 34:04Speaker 10: I did start a gym here called Training Camp. We
- 34:07Speaker 10: have since merged with Nashville MMA, the longest standing MMA
- 34:10Speaker 10: gym in town. I was training in California, living in California,
- 34:14Speaker 10: but then I switched teams and started training in Florida
- 34:17Speaker 10: with a team.
- 34:17Speaker 5: My wife was working in the.
- 34:19Speaker 10: Er in California, so over an eight week period there
- 34:21Speaker 10: was no way we're gonna be able to see each other.
- 34:22Speaker 10: So we knew we wanted to move back closer to
- 34:24Speaker 10: the Midwest South where we were from. She's from Missouri,
- 34:27Speaker 10: I'm from Missouri, and we had some friends here, had
- 34:30Speaker 10: gone to a couple of award shows and just loved
- 34:32Speaker 10: the city. Every single conversation we ever had with the locals,
- 34:35Speaker 10: it just seemed like such a great place to raise
- 34:37Speaker 10: a family. And now eight years in we have two
- 34:40Speaker 10: boys and we are living the dream here in Nashville.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Eight years was about when I started to feel like
- 34:44Speaker 2: this was home. Yeah, it took a while. Yeah, it's
- 34:47Speaker 2: always like Austin, Austin, I'm from Arkansas. But then like
- 34:50Speaker 2: seven eight years it'd be like what home started to
- 34:53Speaker 2: feel like Nashville. Yeah, how long for you until this
- 34:55Speaker 2: started to feel like like like were you just.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Kind of it's kind of relax.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 10: Honestly, for me it was it was pretty quick because
- 35:02Speaker 10: I had been I started my career, started fighting fifteen
- 35:05Speaker 10: years ago. I moved to Las Vegas, lived in Las Vegas,
- 35:07Speaker 10: never felt like home. Lived in San Diego after that
- 35:09Speaker 10: for a couple of years, never really felt like home
- 35:11Speaker 10: being from Missouri. And as soon as we moved back
- 35:14Speaker 10: here after we you know, we built a house and
- 35:16Speaker 10: we really started hanging out with more friends, getting involved
- 35:18Speaker 10: in the community.
- 35:20Speaker 5: For me, it was it was honestly.
- 35:21Speaker 2: The first two years really I was.
- 35:22Speaker 10: I was I was like, hey, this is where we
- 35:24Speaker 10: planted our roots. You know, my family chose Saint Louis
- 35:27Speaker 10: for us, or that's where I was born, but this
- 35:29Speaker 10: is this, this is the city that I chose, and
- 35:30Speaker 10: me and my wife are planting roots here and we'll
- 35:32Speaker 10: be here for the long haul.
- 35:34Speaker 2: We have a mutual friend, a very close mutual friend,
- 35:36Speaker 2: the Smiers, Abbey Smers I called.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I was talking with her yesterday.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I said, hey, I don't know Michael Chandler, but I
- 35:43Speaker 2: know you friends with him and his wife. And she
- 35:45Speaker 2: was like, he's really smart. That was that was what
- 35:48Speaker 2: she was. She was like, don't think he's like an
- 35:51Speaker 2: athlete coming in and you got.
- 35:53Speaker 1: To be like, yeah, I mean, no offense, but I
- 35:55Speaker 1: wouldn't think he's smart like UFC fighters. I just feel like, man,
- 35:58Speaker 1: you're like you what you do? You got to be
- 36:00Speaker 1: a little not right in that.
- 36:01Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I punch people in the face,
- 36:04Speaker 10: get punched in the face for aving. But yeah, I
- 36:07Speaker 10: know honestly, I always, I always I like hand to
- 36:11Speaker 10: hand combat, wrestling for fifteen years and now fighting. You know,
- 36:15Speaker 10: I've been doing hand to hand combat longer than I
- 36:17Speaker 10: have not been doing hand to hand combat.
- 36:19Speaker 5: It's what I was built for, what I was created for.
- 36:22Speaker 10: But you know, I love business outside of fighting, my
- 36:25Speaker 10: father and a husband and all these different things, and
- 36:27Speaker 10: fighting is just my shiny object that gets.
- 36:29Speaker 5: People to look and say, hey, look at what's that
- 36:31Speaker 5: guy doing?
- 36:32Speaker 10: Yeah, and they can kind of peel back the layers,
- 36:33Speaker 10: you know, and then you got people like Abby saying
- 36:35Speaker 10: I'm smart.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I just take it so cool that the first thing
- 36:38Speaker 2: she said about you, she was like, hey, well she
- 36:40Speaker 2: said she loves you and your wife, and she was like,
- 36:42Speaker 2: he's really smart. Meaning we do a lot of you know,
- 36:45Speaker 2: we have a pretty massive sports show, and we talked
- 36:46Speaker 2: to a lot of athletes and a lot of them
- 36:48Speaker 2: aren't known because they didn't have to focus on their
- 36:51Speaker 2: intelligence like they'd been an athlete and they've been celebrated
- 36:53Speaker 2: as an athlete, so why would they go and work
- 36:55Speaker 2: hard in other areas? But she just talked about, you know,
- 36:58Speaker 2: really the kind of person that you were. Obviously you're
- 37:01Speaker 2: putting your heart and your effort into these hats and
- 37:03Speaker 2: way more than that here in this town. Also, are
- 37:06Speaker 2: you going to train? Do you leave to train pretty soon?
- 37:09Speaker 10: Actually, this is my last week in Nashville before I
- 37:11Speaker 10: had to head to Florida. So my team is down
- 37:13Speaker 10: in Florida, South Florida, Deerfield Beach and all of April,
- 37:17Speaker 10: May and June. I'll be down there getting.
- 37:19Speaker 2: After it is it to remove all home distractions. Is
- 37:22Speaker 2: that why you or could you train here? Well?
- 37:24Speaker 10: I could train here, and I do train a little
- 37:26Speaker 10: bit here with my team here in Nashville in May,
- 37:28Speaker 10: but no, it just kind of worked out like that.
- 37:31Speaker 5: My wife is a career woman.
- 37:32Speaker 10: She loves she loves working. She's in Memphis, Tennessee right
- 37:35Speaker 10: now training. She's a national trainer for Allergan. So she
- 37:38Speaker 10: loves what she does. And rule number one is don't
- 37:40Speaker 10: take away anything from her, right you know. So, happy wife,
- 37:43Speaker 10: happy life, and she loves what she does. So we
- 37:46Speaker 10: never really felt called to move to Florida and live
- 37:49Speaker 10: in Florida. We wanted to plant our roots here and
- 37:52Speaker 10: it is. There's definitely some some pros and cons of it.
- 37:55Speaker 10: It is zero distractions. I am like a caveman spartan,
- 37:59Speaker 10: you know, go to the gym, to the grocery store,
- 38:00Speaker 10: go to bodywork, go to back to the gym. Just
- 38:03Speaker 10: kind of this little quick triangle. I do Groundhog's Day
- 38:06Speaker 10: every day, no distractions. I miss the heck out of
- 38:08Speaker 10: my son's My youngest is now two years old, so
- 38:11Speaker 10: this is gonna be the first time that Daddy's gonna
- 38:13Speaker 10: be gone and he's really gonna probably it's probably gonna
- 38:15Speaker 10: affect him a little bit. And it's the conundrum of
- 38:17Speaker 10: a man, right just knowing you're doing what you're called
- 38:20Speaker 10: to do, but also knowing that it's painful, or you
- 38:23Speaker 10: knowing that it's it's a sacrifice and it's but luckily
- 38:25Speaker 10: it's for a short period of time.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Friends that have played or play in the NBA, and
- 38:29Speaker 2: they talk about their version of their camp and the
- 38:32Speaker 2: off season. They'll do like skills training in the morning,
- 38:35Speaker 2: they'll get up a bunch of shots at night, a
- 38:38Speaker 2: bit of the same thing that there's like a twelve hour,
- 38:40Speaker 2: fourteen hour commitment to them getting better because they're not
- 38:43Speaker 2: playing games, they're preparing for the season to come.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Is it a bit like that when you're at camp?
- 38:47Speaker 2: Are you focusing on training for a specific fight one
- 38:52Speaker 2: part of the day, second part of the day you're
- 38:54Speaker 2: just trying to get better physically, as in like cardio
- 38:56Speaker 2: or lyfting? Like, how does camp work? It's different than
- 38:58Speaker 2: just here, Yeah, so it's more just the time.
- 39:01Speaker 10: There's there's that changing of the guard where it's I'm
- 39:03Speaker 10: out out of training camp and then I go into
- 39:05Speaker 10: one hundred percent sole focus everything I eat, how I
- 39:09Speaker 10: sleep how I train. But yeah, it's two workouts, maybe
- 39:12Speaker 10: three workouts a day, two or three days a week
- 39:14Speaker 10: just to get the extra cardio. And most of the
- 39:16Speaker 10: time I'm cutting a lot of weight, you know, I'm
- 39:17Speaker 10: wake it weigh in one eighty five, one ninety getting
- 39:19Speaker 10: down to one fifty five fight. Yeah, so it's that's
- 39:22Speaker 10: the that's the worst part about mixed martial arts. So
- 39:25Speaker 10: this fight will hopefully be at one seventy or one
- 39:27Speaker 10: eighty five. But yeah, it's it's training twice a day,
- 39:31Speaker 10: all team a team training in the morning where you're
- 39:34Speaker 10: with all of our different guys. We got thirty to
- 39:36Speaker 10: fifty guys in a in a training room at one time,
- 39:39Speaker 10: five or six coaches, and then at night it's more
- 39:41Speaker 10: one on one skills training that we do. And then
- 39:44Speaker 10: middle of the day, I got my little garage down
- 39:46Speaker 10: to my house in Pompino's, got a bike and bike
- 39:48Speaker 10: in there, and it's like ninety five degrees and I
- 39:50Speaker 10: just get after it for forty five minutes, me with.
- 39:52Speaker 5: My own thoughts.
- 39:53Speaker 2: So hot cycling, yeah, I mean it's hot anything, it's.
- 39:57Speaker 10: Just hot, biproper or it's hot because of where we live,
- 40:00Speaker 10: where I am down in Florida.
- 40:01Speaker 5: It's just a geez hot little uh, and I have
- 40:03Speaker 5: my song.
- 40:04Speaker 10: I'll usually crank my sawn up to one open the
- 40:06Speaker 10: door and then it gets even hotter in there.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Another sports analogy so that I can understand it.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Uh.
- 40:10Speaker 2: If let's say you playing a quarterback, who is a
- 40:13Speaker 2: running quarterback? You on the when you practice squad, you
- 40:16Speaker 2: have a guy trying to emulate that quarterback. When you're
- 40:19Speaker 2: training for a fight, do you ever have anyone study
- 40:22Speaker 2: or do you find a fighter that fights like who
- 40:24Speaker 2: you're about to fight so you can somewhat get yourself
- 40:27Speaker 2: in the mode for that kind of whatever, you know,
- 40:30Speaker 2: whatever it is.
- 40:30Speaker 10: Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what it is. You know,
- 40:33Speaker 10: fighting Connor McGregor. He's a South Paul. He's got kind
- 40:35Speaker 10: of that wide bouncing back and forth karate stance traditionally,
- 40:39Speaker 10: so we'll find guys who can kind of emulate that.
- 40:41Speaker 5: Definitely all South pause.
- 40:43Speaker 10: But for the most part, I you know, I honestly
- 40:45Speaker 10: spend about eighty five to ninety percent of my time
- 40:48Speaker 10: focusing on me. What can I do to better myself,
- 40:51Speaker 10: to put myself in the best situation possible, to be
- 40:54Speaker 10: the most dangerous on fight night, and then there's ten
- 40:56Speaker 10: percent or so where we're really looking for certain tendencies, idiosyncrasies,
- 41:02Speaker 10: little habits that he has and openings that we see
- 41:04Speaker 10: and certain things to look out for, but not too much,
- 41:07Speaker 10: because then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy of Okay,
- 41:09Speaker 10: make sure this doesn't happen, and then lo and behold
- 41:11Speaker 10: it will end up happening.
- 41:12Speaker 1: So do you have a self scout yourself.
- 41:15Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm my own worst critic. But as I've gotten
- 41:19Speaker 10: older and longer in the tooth and the sport, I've
- 41:22Speaker 10: also shown myself a lot more grace.
- 41:23Speaker 5: You know.
- 41:24Speaker 10: I never thought I would be in the position that
- 41:26Speaker 10: I'm in top five in the world fighting Connor the
- 41:29Speaker 10: Ultimate Fighter this past summer, you know.
- 41:30Speaker 5: So it's obviously working out for me.
- 41:33Speaker 10: And anything can be accomplished with a window of opportunity
- 41:38Speaker 10: and extreme discipline. And as long as I do things
- 41:41Speaker 10: right and I'm right where I need to be on
- 41:43Speaker 10: fight night, the winds and losses will take care of themselves.
- 41:46Speaker 5: It's kind of how I always look at it.
- 41:48Speaker 2: And the weird business that I'm in, just in the
- 41:50Speaker 2: different parts of media, I will and I have paid
- 41:53Speaker 2: people before to tell me how they would beat me. Yeah,
- 41:56Speaker 2: I will pay somebody to go. I need you to
- 41:58Speaker 2: listen to everything that I'm doing. If you were launching
- 42:00Speaker 2: something up against me, I need you just to tell
- 42:02Speaker 2: me how you would take me down. Find the places
- 42:05Speaker 2: where I'm vulnerable. I'm going to pay you to find
- 42:06Speaker 2: my vulnerabilities. Does your team know what maybe your strengths
- 42:12Speaker 2: aren't and then try to lift those within you by going,
- 42:16Speaker 2: let's listen from me whatever it is, and keep challenging
- 42:19Speaker 2: you on that.
- 42:20Speaker 10: Yeah, there's definitely a couple areas, and each fight is different.
- 42:24Speaker 10: You know, last fight, I thought another great striker, but
- 42:27Speaker 10: he was in another South Paul fight before that, it
- 42:29Speaker 10: was an orthodox guy, more of a wrestler. So yeah,
- 42:33Speaker 10: there's little areas where we look at it and say, hey,
- 42:36Speaker 10: these are the one or two areas that we need
- 42:38Speaker 10: to get you better at. Things you need to be
- 42:39Speaker 10: thinking about for the next twelve weeks. But nothing breeds
- 42:42Speaker 10: success like success and focusing on my positive attributes, the
- 42:48Speaker 10: things that I do well, the attributes that I do
- 42:50Speaker 10: bring to the cage that are usually successful. We focus
- 42:54Speaker 10: a lot on that as well. But there are little
- 42:56Speaker 10: things that I know I need to work on little
- 42:58Speaker 10: little areas where I know I can get better or
- 43:00Speaker 10: where I'm deficient at, and we'll work on that for
- 43:02Speaker 10: the next twelve weeks.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I've never been punching the face, so I tried not
- 43:06Speaker 2: to be punching the face. I don't want to ever
- 43:07Speaker 2: be punched in the face. I mean, that's kind of
- 43:09Speaker 2: a goal of mine in life. When did it start
- 43:12Speaker 2: to not hurt as bad?
- 43:14Speaker 5: Honestly, unfortunately, it never hurts.
- 43:17Speaker 10: I've only felt pain once or twice in the actual octagon.
- 43:21Speaker 10: I threw a kick and kicked a guy in the
- 43:23Speaker 10: hip and it really kind of bent up my bones
- 43:27Speaker 10: and tenons and stuff in my foot. That was the
- 43:29Speaker 10: only time I actually felt pain in a fight, unfortunately.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Adrenaline is a heck of a drug.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Man.
- 43:33Speaker 10: You know, you're out there and as soon as that
- 43:35Speaker 10: adrenaline starts flowing, you feel the impact, but you don't
- 43:38Speaker 10: feel any pain. You know, you might even hear that
- 43:41Speaker 10: kind of it makes like a oof. It makes a
- 43:43Speaker 10: little noise when your skin breaks open and you and
- 43:46Speaker 10: you feel, okay, that's not sweat, that's obviously, but or
- 43:48Speaker 10: you you know, start getting blood in your eye, but yeah, unfortunately,
- 43:52Speaker 10: I wish it did hurt a little bit, because then
- 43:54Speaker 10: maybe I would be a little bit more apprehensive and
- 43:56Speaker 10: not have my foot on the gas at all times,
- 43:58Speaker 10: leading with my face.
- 43:59Speaker 5: But I do, and yeah, I don't. I enjoy it if.
- 44:03Speaker 2: You get pistol whipped once and I didn't feel that
- 44:05Speaker 2: because I think the adrenaline because I had a gun
- 44:06Speaker 2: to my head, and so when they pistolhip, I didn't
- 44:08Speaker 2: feel it. So I guess maybe this I wasn't trying
- 44:10Speaker 2: to win a match. I just wanted to get out
- 44:11Speaker 2: of there. But until later, and then it was like,
- 44:14Speaker 2: oh god, yeah, So I'm imagining after a fight, it
- 44:17Speaker 2: does it set in. Maybe you didn't feel it then,
- 44:19Speaker 2: but now you're feeling all the little spots where.
- 44:21Speaker 1: You get hit or kicked.
- 44:21Speaker 10: One thousand percent, that's exactly what happens. You know, the
- 44:24Speaker 10: you get your hand raised or you don't. You do
- 44:26Speaker 10: the post fight speech, the post fight conference, you know,
- 44:29Speaker 10: that's it's it's about five ten minutes after you get
- 44:32Speaker 10: out of the octagon. You start walking and you start
- 44:34Speaker 10: limping a little bit, start feeling all the different areas
- 44:37Speaker 10: go you know, pee blood, maybe you know that's happening
- 44:39Speaker 10: to me.
- 44:39Speaker 5: A couple of times.
- 44:40Speaker 10: That's when the face even continues to swell, swell, swell,
- 44:44Speaker 10: because I've had twenty five minute fights. I've had twenty
- 44:46Speaker 10: five second fights, you know, I've had very quick fights.
- 44:48Speaker 10: But you're in there, especially for fifteen to twenty five
- 44:51Speaker 10: minutes that the swelling doesn't quite take hold until you
- 44:55Speaker 10: get out and you know, a couple a couple of
- 44:57Speaker 10: minutes later, and then you start feeling.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Where do you like to be only emotionally right before
- 45:01Speaker 2: a fight?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Is that?
- 45:02Speaker 2: Do you want to be extremely hyped or do you
- 45:05Speaker 2: want to get hyped but then get calm? So you're
- 45:07Speaker 2: thinking it with the extreme extremely rational.
- 45:10Speaker 10: It's a great question, actually, I you know, it sounds crazy.
- 45:14Speaker 10: You know, we're talking about this tough guy who fights
- 45:16Speaker 10: in a cage. But the best place that I can
- 45:18Speaker 10: possibly be right before I go out there is tears
- 45:22Speaker 10: in my eyes, almost completely completely overwhelmed with gratitude for
- 45:27Speaker 10: the position that I'm in, the platform, I have my wife,
- 45:30Speaker 10: my son's and.
- 45:31Speaker 5: Just this this feeling of.
- 45:33Speaker 10: Overwhelming joy, right and then you then you walk out,
- 45:38Speaker 10: then you can start to get into the zone a
- 45:39Speaker 10: little bit, you know, you you you shake hands with
- 45:42Speaker 10: that gratitude and then you walk out there and then uh,
- 45:46Speaker 10: then the cage door closes, and then then the fight
- 45:48Speaker 10: really starts whenever you kind of take that that first exchange,
- 45:51Speaker 10: whether you get your hands on him, he gets his
- 45:53Speaker 10: hands on you, he punches you, you get punched, or
- 45:56Speaker 10: you punch him, and then then it's kind of then
- 45:57Speaker 10: it kind of goes into reactionary responding of your training
- 46:01Speaker 10: taken over. But I know there's been a couple different
- 46:04Speaker 10: times in my life where whether it's a song I'm
- 46:06Speaker 10: listening to or whether it's the visualization that I'm doing,
- 46:09Speaker 10: where there's this overwhelming sense of gratitude because this is
- 46:13Speaker 10: what I'm doing is so much bigger than just the
- 46:15Speaker 10: x's and o's in my opinion. And when I'm knowing
- 46:19Speaker 10: what I'm called to do and I'm doing what I'm
- 46:22Speaker 10: called to do, and I know who I am and
- 46:24Speaker 10: whose I am and why I do it, that's when
- 46:26Speaker 10: that's when a man could.
- 46:27Speaker 5: Be really really powerful.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like the two kinds of people I
- 46:33Speaker 2: know that perform like you do, which you build up
- 46:36Speaker 2: and then it's time to go. It's either people that
- 46:39Speaker 2: are so at peace with themselves or they freaking want
- 46:42Speaker 2: to rip somebody's head off. But there's not a lot
- 46:43Speaker 2: in the middle. It's one of the two. Are you
- 46:47Speaker 2: ever is the anger ever real going into a match
- 46:49Speaker 2: though where somebody's because again there's a lot of theatrics involved.
- 46:53Speaker 2: But is it ever real where it's kind of hard
- 46:55Speaker 2: to get yourself at peace because they've maybe gone over
- 46:57Speaker 2: the line.
- 46:58Speaker 10: Yeah, there actually has been in my career that that
- 47:01Speaker 10: has happened, and I have not enjoyed it, and I
- 47:03Speaker 10: have not performed to the best of my abilities. It's
- 47:06Speaker 10: there's going to be a build up. I mean, obviously
- 47:07Speaker 10: you talk about Connor McGregor. He is the best, the
- 47:10Speaker 10: best promoter, the best on the microphone, better than me.
- 47:13Speaker 10: I'm willing to admit that, right so, I know I'm
- 47:15Speaker 10: going into hostile enemy territory when there's a microphone, a
- 47:18Speaker 10: press conference, in all these different war of words. But
- 47:22Speaker 10: you kind of just compartmentalize that and say, this is
- 47:25Speaker 10: us talking on a microphone right now. As soon as
- 47:26Speaker 10: it's over, it's over, I go back to training or
- 47:28Speaker 10: go back to whatever we got to do, because it
- 47:30Speaker 10: has hindered me in the past, and I haven't enjoyed it,
- 47:33Speaker 10: and I haven't fought within myself because I truly you know,
- 47:35Speaker 10: it sounds crazy because if you watch the way that
- 47:37Speaker 10: I fight, it looks like I want to absolutely murder somebody, right,
- 47:40Speaker 10: But I'm not really looking at it like I'm trying
- 47:43Speaker 10: to hurt the person. It's just it's x's and o's
- 47:46Speaker 10: and there's a job to be done, and there's an
- 47:48Speaker 10: arm and two there's two arms and two legs, and
- 47:50Speaker 10: I'm not even looking at the person like it's a person,
- 47:52Speaker 10: a human, a soul. I'm just looking at it like
- 47:54Speaker 10: it's flesh and flesh and bones. And I'm out there
- 47:57Speaker 10: and I have a job to do with no malice
- 47:59Speaker 10: in my heart, but with a crazy, crazy willingness and
- 48:04Speaker 10: want to inflict bodily arm.
- 48:06Speaker 2: At the press conference when it can be you versus
- 48:09Speaker 2: your opponent coming up for any two people, when that
- 48:13Speaker 2: that fight happened at the press conference, when teams are
- 48:15Speaker 2: Is that ever real?
- 48:17Speaker 10: You don't see it a lot in mixed martial arts,
- 48:18Speaker 10: you know, you see it a little bit more in boxing.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Sure, you know.
- 48:21Speaker 10: The the craziest thing is fights can be canceled and
- 48:25Speaker 10: money and money can change hands because of fines and
- 48:28Speaker 10: all kinds of stuff, and it's just it's not a
- 48:31Speaker 10: good thing, you know. Dana White always says, he's like,
- 48:33Speaker 10: you guys think I want this, like crazy animosity, Dudes
- 48:36Speaker 10: throwing stuff at each other and mother after each other,
- 48:38Speaker 10: hit each other with microphones, Like we don't want that. Ever,
- 48:40Speaker 10: you know, fights can be canceled because once you're under
- 48:43Speaker 10: the jurisdiction of a boxing commission right where like we'll
- 48:47Speaker 10: be fighting under the Nevada State Athletic Commission. They can
- 48:50Speaker 10: choose to pull the fight. They can choose to cancel
- 48:52Speaker 10: the fight. They can choose to find a fighter. They
- 48:54Speaker 10: can choose to kick you out, and now you have
- 48:56Speaker 10: to find a new opponent. But you know, there's a
- 49:00Speaker 10: certain amount of war of words that can sometimes turn
- 49:03Speaker 10: into a little bit too uh, you know, personal, and
- 49:06Speaker 10: then guys lose their lose their minds a little bit.
- 49:09Speaker 10: I try to stay a little bit even Keel number one,
- 49:12Speaker 10: because of my you know, my testimony, my platform and
- 49:14Speaker 10: the way my crowd of witnesses that I have right
- 49:17Speaker 10: but you know, also because it's just I try to
- 49:20Speaker 10: be a professional Eddie.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I'm a fan, like I love UFC. I
- 49:25Speaker 1: watch it every Saturday. And when you knock someone out, uh,
- 49:30Speaker 1: and they start fencing, you know, they do the whole
- 49:33Speaker 1: I mean, they're gone and their hands start curling. It's
- 49:36Speaker 1: like it's called a fencing position. I guess is when
- 49:39Speaker 1: they kind of do that.
- 49:40Speaker 5: Is that what's that?
- 49:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 49:41Speaker 5: I don't know. I just know that's what happens when
- 49:42Speaker 5: they get the first time I saw freaky.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really freaky. Does it freak you out? Does
- 49:47Speaker 1: it make you worry for them? Or are you just
- 49:49Speaker 1: kind of like it's all right, they'll pick their legs up,
- 49:50Speaker 1: they'll get oxygen to the head and they'll be fine.
- 49:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 10: You know, I think I have seen it so many
- 49:55Speaker 10: times that you kind of get a little bit desensitized
- 49:57Speaker 10: to it, you know, and it can look it could
- 50:00Speaker 10: look bad in a lot of people's eyes too, you know.
- 50:02Speaker 10: I'd take myself back to two fights ago. I had
- 50:04Speaker 10: kicked Tony Ferguson and he was out for dang near
- 50:07Speaker 10: two minutes, you know, and and the body is just
- 50:09Speaker 10: convulsing and trying to breathe on its own subconsciously, and
- 50:14Speaker 10: luckily he went down in a fashion that I knew
- 50:17Speaker 10: he was out. I went to go throw one more
- 50:19Speaker 10: and I held myself back, but you know, I'm doing
- 50:22Speaker 10: backflips and celebration. And you know, one thing that a
- 50:24Speaker 10: lot of people that don't know is they're like, well,
- 50:26Speaker 10: why didn't you go over and help him out. It's
- 50:28Speaker 10: like they actually won't let you get close to a
- 50:30Speaker 10: really the lifeless body there because of you know, I mean,
- 50:34Speaker 10: things could happen if there was a lot of animosity.
- 50:36Speaker 10: I could go over and kick them while he's down,
- 50:38Speaker 10: spit on them, do all kinds of you know, crazy stuff.
- 50:40Speaker 10: So they actually pull you away, so I know, you
- 50:43Speaker 10: can't go engage the body laying there. But yeah, it's
- 50:47Speaker 10: pretty It's a it really comes full circle when you
- 50:50Speaker 10: see that kind of stuff and really realize the you know,
- 50:53Speaker 10: the the risk that we are taking, and you know,
- 50:56Speaker 10: not just the embarrassment of it, but the lifelong harm
- 50:59Speaker 10: of what could be happening.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Whenever there's a fight and you know, somebody gets kicked
- 51:03Speaker 1: in the nuts a couple of times or whatever, they
- 51:05Speaker 1: got to stop the fight because of I poke. Yeah,
- 51:07Speaker 1: there's always disappointment in that. I'm both fighters, right, but
- 51:10Speaker 1: the opponent that poked the eyes always just like God, Like, oh, like,
- 51:14Speaker 1: why did it happen to end that way? What's that
- 51:16Speaker 1: feeling when they do have to stop a fight because
- 51:18Speaker 1: it's something stupid like that.
- 51:18Speaker 10: Yeah, it's unfortunate, you know, because we do we do
- 51:20Speaker 10: fight in those four ounce gloves where the fingers are
- 51:22Speaker 10: out and you know, obviously we have a cup on.
- 51:24Speaker 5: But you get kicked in the cup, it still hurts.
- 51:27Speaker 5: You know.
- 51:27Speaker 10: I had a fight where I I kind of messed
- 51:30Speaker 10: up a nerve in my foot and I was rolling
- 51:31Speaker 10: my ankle and the graf had to call it. I
- 51:33Speaker 10: was still willing to fight. I said, you know, cut
- 51:35Speaker 10: it off and keep going right, you know. So, But
- 51:37Speaker 10: it's it is always tough. It's tough for the fans.
- 51:40Speaker 10: It's tough for the people who bought tickets. It's tough,
- 51:42Speaker 10: especially if it happens in a big fight.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Do you get paid still if you have if it
- 51:46Speaker 1: gets a no contest?
- 51:48Speaker 10: Yeah, usually, I don't really know how that works. You know,
- 51:50Speaker 10: a lot of times guys have a show money. You
- 51:52Speaker 10: get paid to show up and then you get paid
- 51:54Speaker 10: if you win, or you have guaranteed money no matter what.
- 51:58Speaker 10: But yeah, it's all depending on your contract.
- 52:01Speaker 1: I got a stupid question. I've just always thought this though,
- 52:03Speaker 1: whenever you're grappling, could you tickle the dude?
- 52:06Speaker 5: You could? You definitely could.
- 52:09Speaker 10: I mean, it's definitely within the unified rules of mixed
- 52:11Speaker 10: martial arts.
- 52:12Speaker 5: I think you can't.
- 52:12Speaker 10: You know, you can't eye goud, you can't fish hook,
- 52:15Speaker 10: you can't poke them in the eyes.
- 52:16Speaker 5: But I think tickling is legal, but especially if you
- 52:21Speaker 5: make the noise that it probably makes Sports Center top ten.
- 52:24Speaker 10: But also but also I don't think it would have
- 52:26Speaker 10: much effect because just like getting punched in the face,
- 52:29Speaker 10: you probably don't feel tickling with your adrenaline being that
- 52:32Speaker 10: high either. But maybe I'll try try, I'll come on,
- 52:36Speaker 10: come back on the show. Like I just check out
- 52:37Speaker 10: this linel look right there?
- 52:40Speaker 2: Did Your adrenaline can't be pumping as high when you
- 52:43Speaker 2: when you're training, when you're sparring, right if you can
- 52:45Speaker 2: have well sparing, that's got freaking hurt.
- 52:46Speaker 10: Yeah, that's but usually we're wearing bigger gloves, so we're
- 52:49Speaker 10: usually sparring in sixteen ounce gloves.
- 52:52Speaker 5: You know, headgear.
- 52:54Speaker 10: A lot of times I'll be wearing headgear this entire
- 52:55Speaker 10: training camp, just because the fear of getting cut, whether
- 52:58Speaker 10: it's an accidental invert and headbutt, elbow knee. I mean,
- 53:02Speaker 10: God did not create our bodies to like be crashing
- 53:05Speaker 10: up against each other bone on bone and head skull
- 53:08Speaker 10: on skull. But yeah, you feel a lot more in
- 53:11Speaker 10: training than you do in the actual fight itself.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Do you ever on fight night, if I'm gonna go
- 53:15Speaker 2: do stand up or something? Their nights, I just don't
- 53:17Speaker 2: feel good. Yeah, Like you know, I just don't feel good.
- 53:19Speaker 2: And I gotta go perform and have a theater full
- 53:21Speaker 2: of people that have paid good money and waited to
- 53:23Speaker 2: come to the show, and I gotta go, And do
- 53:24Speaker 2: you ever just not feel good?
- 53:26Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the unfortunate part.
- 53:27Speaker 10: I mean, imagine right now I'm sitting here at the
- 53:29Speaker 10: end of March, and I'm gonna start training for twelve
- 53:31Speaker 10: weeks April one through the end of June, and just
- 53:34Speaker 10: hoping that that night everything is clicking, body is feeling good.
- 53:38Speaker 10: Heaven forbid, I might get a sick a stomach bug
- 53:40Speaker 10: twenty four hours before, forty hours before, which happens, you know,
- 53:45Speaker 10: any kind of infection or whatever, any kind of ailment
- 53:47Speaker 10: that could happen, or Yeah, you're just not feeling it.
- 53:49Speaker 10: I mean, you're just you're pumped up, You're good to go.
- 53:51Speaker 10: You might get a really good workout in that morning.
- 53:53Speaker 10: I'd like to get a good shakeout where I'm just
- 53:55Speaker 10: hitting pads and feeling dangerous that morning, and then you
- 53:59Speaker 10: might show up to arena and be like, hmm, just
- 54:01Speaker 10: not feeling it, you know, And which is unfortunate because
- 54:04Speaker 10: if we would have fucked twenty four hours or five
- 54:07Speaker 10: days later or whatever. And that's why it's such a
- 54:10Speaker 10: and we only get so many opportunities to perform, you know,
- 54:12Speaker 10: you think about basketball, or you think about one of
- 54:14Speaker 10: these other sports where you might have forty games or
- 54:16Speaker 10: fifty games in a season, and we only get two
- 54:19Speaker 10: or three opportunities. You know, I didn't fight at all
- 54:21Speaker 10: last year. I'm fighting probably twice this year, you know,
- 54:25Speaker 10: June and then November or something. I get those two
- 54:27Speaker 10: opportunities thirty minutes probably, or twenty five minutes plus fifteen
- 54:31Speaker 10: minutes or twenty five and twenty five upwards of possibly
- 54:34Speaker 10: fifty minutes at the most that I get those two opportunities,
- 54:37Speaker 10: and hopefully you're feeling and everything's clicking.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Like the Olympics. You trained for four years, and then
- 54:41Speaker 2: it's like, all right, time to run your race.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Yeah, this is it exactly.
- 54:45Speaker 5: I mean think about that.
- 54:46Speaker 10: Yeah, about you're getting on the starting block or whatever
- 54:48Speaker 10: and you're like, I just not feeling it.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a earache.
- 54:52Speaker 1: You gotta go. We have earache all day.
- 54:54Speaker 10: Well that and that has happened too, I mean, you
- 54:56Speaker 10: know we and it happens in all sports, right, you know,
- 54:58Speaker 10: you show up on game or fight night or whatever,
- 55:01Speaker 10: and nobody's one hundred percent, especially in the sport of
- 55:04Speaker 10: mixed martial arts, no matter what. We've taken some kind
- 55:06Speaker 10: of damage to the leg, to the limbs, you know,
- 55:08Speaker 10: your head, your face, or you're just not feeling it.
- 55:11Speaker 5: Maybe you had a bad weight cut and you just
- 55:13Speaker 5: you know, that's why.
- 55:13Speaker 10: You really when you really like me, I'll be thirty
- 55:16Speaker 10: eight next month, I've been doing it for fifteen years,
- 55:19Speaker 10: you really start to feel a sense of gratitude, like, man,
- 55:22Speaker 10: how has this gone so well so many times for
- 55:25Speaker 10: so long with this huge platform. You really just get
- 55:28Speaker 10: that gratitude because it I've been around so many guys
- 55:31Speaker 10: who've been so promising at that twenty two to twenty
- 55:34Speaker 10: five year old, you know, and then.
- 55:35Speaker 5: All of a sudden, they just kind of fizzle out.
- 55:37Speaker 10: Things don't go well, or contract disputes or tough luck,
- 55:40Speaker 10: tough knockout, bad you know, bad loss that just kind
- 55:43Speaker 10: of derails the career.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Final three questions, Let's just talk about the fight. How
- 55:47Speaker 2: you feeling about this McGregor fight.
- 55:49Speaker 5: I feel great.
- 55:50Speaker 10: You know, this has been, uh, it's been about a
- 55:52Speaker 10: year in the making, you know, he and I. He
- 55:54Speaker 10: and I signed to do the Ultimate Fighter reality show
- 55:57Speaker 10: last year. That was in February, right, so it's been
- 55:59Speaker 10: about thirteen months and then it's been kind of a
- 56:02Speaker 10: build up where were supposed to fight after the fight
- 56:04Speaker 10: or after the show aired, and now we're a couple
- 56:07Speaker 10: of months.
- 56:07Speaker 5: After that, obviously. But I feel great about it. I
- 56:10Speaker 5: do feel good. You know.
- 56:11Speaker 10: I feel I'm thirty seven, but I feel like I'm
- 56:13Speaker 10: twenty five years old still. I think I have all
- 56:15Speaker 10: the skills, all the abilities. I think I'm the more
- 56:17Speaker 10: dangerous man. I think I'm the more dedicated, discipline and
- 56:19Speaker 10: dominant man. And I believe it's gonna be my greatest
- 56:22Speaker 10: moment of opportunity, biggest platform and brightest lights, and I'm
- 56:25Speaker 10: going to go out there and do exactly what I
- 56:26Speaker 10: need to do and finish.
- 56:27Speaker 5: Them in the first two rounds.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Do you ever fight a lot? The final two questions,
- 56:30Speaker 2: you ever fight somebody you really like and you're like,
- 56:33Speaker 2: I really like this dude, and I got.
- 56:34Speaker 1: To pummel them.
- 56:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, honestly, there's a ton of respect.
- 56:37Speaker 10: I don't really dislike anybody that I have fought, or.
- 56:42Speaker 5: As of recent there's been a couple guys.
- 56:44Speaker 10: But you know, all the guys on my weight class,
- 56:46Speaker 10: especially the guys that you have fought or you watch
- 56:48Speaker 10: them fight them, and watching some of these guys fight
- 56:49Speaker 10: for the last ten years, I mean, I know the
- 56:52Speaker 10: lifestyle that they have to live, I know the sacrifices
- 56:54Speaker 10: they have to make. I know how tough they have
- 56:56Speaker 10: to be and how skilled they are. So how do
- 56:57Speaker 10: you not have a ton of respect for them?
- 56:58Speaker 5: You know?
- 57:00Speaker 10: And Justin Gatchee Fight of the Year twenty twenty one,
- 57:02Speaker 10: crazy crazy fight in Madison Square Garden. Yet he and
- 57:07Speaker 10: I feel like one of those deals where we didn't
- 57:08Speaker 10: have to compete against each other, we'd probably be friends outside, right,
- 57:11Speaker 10: So it's you know, and we probably will.
- 57:13Speaker 5: Be when we laid the gloves down.
- 57:15Speaker 10: But yeah, I mean, it's I have a ton of
- 57:18Speaker 10: respect for everybody that I fight.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Final question then Eddie's bonus question. But your platform that
- 57:23Speaker 2: you've like, you've been successful. Therefore you've been able to
- 57:27Speaker 2: take that success and shine lights on other things. How
- 57:31Speaker 2: important has that been to you to actually have the
- 57:35Speaker 2: other parts of your life, the other fulfilling parts, to
- 57:37Speaker 2: be able to lift them up as well.
- 57:39Speaker 5: It's been It's been an absolute blessing.
- 57:41Speaker 10: I mean, it's just like I said, it's that shiny
- 57:44Speaker 10: object thing, you know, fighting in a cage in front
- 57:45Speaker 10: of millions of people, that's my shiny object that gets
- 57:48Speaker 10: people to look right. And then with the platform, I've
- 57:50Speaker 10: been able to make a big impact, whether it's with
- 57:52Speaker 10: you know, Covenant raising money for a tragedy that happened
- 57:55Speaker 10: in my in my town that.
- 57:57Speaker 5: I live in.
- 57:57Speaker 10: Right, that's a platform I'm able to use. Having my
- 58:00Speaker 10: life and my sons and having a platform of being
- 58:02Speaker 10: a father and being a husband and shining light on
- 58:05Speaker 10: that stuff.
- 58:05Speaker 5: That.
- 58:05Speaker 10: Yeah, the belts is cool, right, the belts and the
- 58:07Speaker 10: money and the lights and being a professional athlete. That
- 58:09Speaker 10: is so cool and I'm so fortunate to be able
- 58:12Speaker 10: to do it. But it's gonna only last so long,
- 58:15Speaker 10: and the belts will tarnish and the awards will go
- 58:18Speaker 10: away and all that stuff. But the man that I am,
- 58:20Speaker 10: the man that I have tried to become and continue
- 58:22Speaker 10: to become, and the other businesses I've been able to
- 58:26Speaker 10: do two things these days is I said I started out,
- 58:30Speaker 10: I wanted to be a guy who made people change
- 58:32Speaker 10: the perception of what a mixed martial artist is, where
- 58:34Speaker 10: they leave and interact and say, oh, that guy is
- 58:37Speaker 10: a little bit more to this, that or the other
- 58:39Speaker 10: than I thought he would be, being a guy who
- 58:41Speaker 10: fights in a cage.
- 58:42Speaker 5: And then you know, these days.
- 58:44Speaker 10: I'm more of a businessman and an entrepreneur who just
- 58:46Speaker 10: so happens to fight a couple times a year.
- 58:48Speaker 5: So it all just kind of coincides.
- 58:50Speaker 10: And I'm living a dream and I'm living a life
- 58:52Speaker 10: that I never thought would be possible, coming from a
- 58:54Speaker 10: small town and rural Missouri, and here I am on
- 58:58Speaker 10: this big platform and enjoin every second of it.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Any final bonus question, Yeah, fin final bonus questions. When
- 59:03Speaker 1: you're in the corner and coach is talking to you, like,
- 59:06Speaker 1: are you actually listening to that?
- 59:08Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 59:09Speaker 10: Is the best that I can you know, by the
- 59:11Speaker 10: time you walk back, you've already lost ten seconds. And
- 59:13Speaker 10: then by the time they get out five seconds before
- 59:16Speaker 10: the round, you know, you got about forty five seconds
- 59:18Speaker 10: and it could.
- 59:19Speaker 5: Have been a very easy round.
- 59:20Speaker 10: You might be hi, just you knowing phenomenal because everything
- 59:23Speaker 10: is doing well, or you might be like, yo, dude,
- 59:25Speaker 10: I don't even know what I'm looking at right now
- 59:27Speaker 10: because I just got my bell rung twenty seconds ago
- 59:29Speaker 10: and I'm stumbling back to the corner right You know,
- 59:33Speaker 10: more than anything, it's it's capturing your breath, taking a
- 59:36Speaker 10: hold of your breath, trying to lower your lower your
- 59:38Speaker 10: heart rate because it's going one thousand miles an hour.
- 59:41Speaker 5: And for me, I don't like to be over coached.
- 59:43Speaker 5: You know, there's just two or three little cues.
- 59:45Speaker 10: If there's two or three little cues, and the and
- 59:48Speaker 10: the familiarity of my coach's voice, My coach, Henry Hooft,
- 59:52Speaker 10: who's my head coach. He's like my rock out there
- 59:54Speaker 10: that just kind of brings me back to that neutral
- 59:58Speaker 10: and doesn't over coach me. He knows what to say
- 1:00:00Speaker 10: and uh, just quick little cues that it's like all right, yeah,
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: I don't need to worry about twenty five things. Let's
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: what are these two things I need to focus on
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: going into this next round that's gonna keep me in
- 1:00:09Speaker 10: that dangerous moment that I need to be in.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: I needed to play golf with me then his coach,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: So twenty five things, it's actually destroying me and just
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: be like, hey man, two things. So uh you guys,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: you can go to do your friends call you. Mikero
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: and Michael are your close friends. Michael, Mikey calls you.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: Make either.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: I just want to be too formal and be like
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: mister Michael Chandler. But you can go over to Michael
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Chandler Mma, which is is Twitter's instagram, or you can go.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: See that one is Mike Chandler. M A see that.
- 1:00:35Speaker 10: That's where That's where it throws things off my seeing
- 1:00:37Speaker 10: my Instagram is Mike Chandler Mma. But it was the
- 1:00:40Speaker 10: only one that was available. Michael Chandler at Michael Chandler
- 1:00:42Speaker 10: is a youth pastor in Carolina.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: Years ago. I tried to buy it from him, but
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: he wouldn't give it up.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: I've tried to the dude that has at Bobby Bones
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: would not give it up either. It didn't use it.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: He's a youth best.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Hey, I'm gonna send I'm gonna send Covenant Hats dot com. Really,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: you guys go check it out. I was gonna say.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: You can also see the link. You can go to
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Michael's page and see the link as well. I appreciate
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: what you do outside of what you do, I mean,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: and that's actually why you're here. I was like, oh,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: this is really cool. Will you come up? You so
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: graciously said yes, And I'm rooting for you, and my
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: friends speak very highly of you as a person. That's
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: the most important thing to me. So I really appreciate
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: the time. And we do a show where we travel
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: to like NBA teams and NFL teams, collegiate teams, and
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: they train us in different things. When you're back, we
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: should go to his gym and let go and shoot
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: an episode.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Would you do that with us?
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll go right down.
- 1:01:31Speaker 10: Yeah, Nashville, and we may We got twenty thousand square
- 1:01:33Speaker 10: foot of mats and.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: This maybe something I regret to ask about.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it ends with you and me. Sparring bones.
- 1:01:40Speaker 10: Yeah, see here go headgear and mouthpiece. Though, Okay, did
- 1:01:44Speaker 10: you do did you ever do the rumble on the
- 1:01:46Speaker 10: road or did you just go visit.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: My right eye doesn't work? Okay, So I've always I've
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: always been told don't because I wanted, and I own
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: a few boxing gyms in town, and I've always been
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: told don't even mess around with that cause if you
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: get hit and the good eye, you're done.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's like I haven't, but I'd still do
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: it to beat up Eddie.
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: Left hook.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Dang it. Hey, good luck and really great to meet
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: you and hopefully we'll see on the other side.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: Got to thank you guys for having me. I appreciate
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: it all right, Boom, I don't know.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I told you you're gonna love that interview. Well that's
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: a good question though, right, Like I've wondered that for years.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I did like that question.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Just don't understand why you wouldn't tickle someone if their
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: rolling on top of you.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Probably because it's hard to tackle someone and they're flexed. Like,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: if you can tickle me and I'm flexed and let
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: me see.
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: I'd be down so quick.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: You would read.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Yeah, very good.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: As the interview, Reid goes, Hey, man, where's the best
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: place to punch someone in the face?
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Why did you ask that. Read sound like that, man,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Yes you do.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Man, I don't sound like that.
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: I'm serious.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we should launch our eBay in the next couple
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: of days. Read now battle it out for the cake
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: bacon on the show later this week. Don't know what
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: that's going to be yet, but I think that's it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Anybody have any closing remarks?
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: No?
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: No, you think he walks into places and just like
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: I could be No everybody up in here.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: No, he doesn't.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I think when he was younger, probably like.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Cauld, I think about that.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: I'm like, dang im, iine me able to like just know,
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: like if anything went down, you would survive.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: So I think when he was younger, probably I would
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: say there was a time in my life when I
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: started to have some success and started to make some money,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: when I would walk into a gas station and I
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: could buy anything in here. And I was serious because
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I couldn't a gas station. I can have anything I
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: want in this whole place. That was I don't think
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: about that anymore. I'm mature.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I go to Target.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: I mean, I could probably buy anything in a gas station.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: What's the most expensive. I'd have a gas station a
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: gas drug. But to me.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I was like, that's not the point. I was like,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: ibut anything in this game?
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, no, all the lottery tickets. You
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: can't do that.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: That's why didn't they buy all of them. I'm not
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: also gonna buy all the gas station.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Oh well, now I'm just saying, what's the most two
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: scratches here? Yeah, speaking of let's start scratching fifty bucks?
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Is that a Florida These are Florida ones?
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Do you want to do it right now? No?
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: Okay, that's funny.
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: What is what?
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: I don't know. I don't know why I said that,
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: to be honest.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: That's funny. Yeah, yeah, thank you all. See later this week, Reid.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Good to have you bag, buddy.
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: Hey swam, I did have the cops called on me
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: this weekend, okay on you. Yeah.
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: I paid for this guy's this old guy's meal at
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: this restaurant. He was handicapped and he couldn't go in,
- 1:04:38Speaker 8: so I paid for his meal. And then I see
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: him like two hours later, walking around the mall at
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: going into New Balance, So I go up to him.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: No way, yeah, I swear you went up to him.
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: Yeah, I was just gonna ask to see if he
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: remembered me, and why did.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Your flowers or buy him his mill or what?
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: No, No, he was just like he was acting on
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: like he was like, I'm handicapped. I can't go in
- 1:04:58Speaker 8: and pay for this meal or whatever. And so I
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: go in there and I pay for his meal and
- 1:05:01Speaker 8: he doesn't pay him back. I was like, okay, whatever,
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: And okay, so you weren't paying it originally got it to.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Buy it for him, you were paying it and then
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: he would pay you back.
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: Yeah, got it?
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: Did he know that? Maybe not?
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: Okay, go ahead, But but I just thought it was
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: weird that he, you know, said he was handicapped, but
- 1:05:19Speaker 8: then he's walking around the mall.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Because this toy might be so good that we may
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: just want to hold it. Yeah, because I don't want
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: to react to it.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: But we're halfway in, dude, I.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Know it's like the greatest season two thriller ever.
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: I can hold it.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Well, I know you know how it goes. You can
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: hold it.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Let's finish it.
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: Go ahead, okay.
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: So anyway, my dad is with me, and so I
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: tell my dad that, and he was like, you should
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: just like go up to him and just see if
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: he remembers you.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Or whatever.
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: So I go up to him, I'm like, hey, you
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: remember me, and he just gets so weird and sketchy
- 1:05:50Speaker 8: and it just goes nope, nope, nope, and just starts
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: running away.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: And that was the time frame. Well when did you
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: pay for the meal? And when'd you see him again?
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: At around ten o'clock in the morning?
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: And I saw him at like four point thirty okay,
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: and yeah, and he just started acting really freaking weird
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: and his uh son in law was there and they
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: just they started calling the cops and there and they're like,
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: these guys like talk about me and my dad are
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: trying to trying to scam money out of my father
- 1:06:15Speaker 8: in law needs to say. I hope I had the
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: right guy, because if I didn't, Oh no, I told
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: my dad beforehand, the odds that wasn't the right honestly
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: in your head, honestly I told my dad.
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: I was like, I don't know, I'm like eighty five
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: percent sure.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: What was he wearing the same clothes?
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: No, he was wearing difficultes.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Oh, I wasn't even the same guy.
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: Why would he act so weird because you think I'm
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: trying also.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Handicap then that's why I was the same guy.
- 1:06:49Speaker 8: So there he called the cops and they're like I
