- 0:02My wallet is sobbing. I can hear it.
- 0:04I can hear it in the hall now. It is breaking down crying.
- 0:08It turns out that Attila the arrogant so and so he's got a
- 0:12fake hammer. Oh.
- 0:13A fake? Yeah.
- 0:15Whoa. As I say, Dick.
- 0:17Welcome to episode 112 of the Allegiance podcast, back after
- 0:22Easter. So how's it been boys?
- 0:24How's the Easter bin? Busy time?
- 0:27Quiet time with family. Mine was was mixed so very very
- 0:31busy Friday setting up a new fish tank that was 7 hours of my
- 0:36life I won't get back but. Yeah, fish tank now.
- 0:40Yeah, the new fish tank looks amazing, a little bit loud with
- 0:43the the pump on the the the filter.
- 0:47So I'm trying all sorts of different things.
- 0:49Just quieten that down a bit. Not unbearably loud or anything,
- 0:51but louder than you'd ideally have it.
- 0:53There's a low background hum, so to.
- 0:55Clarify this is not relevant to the podcast because it's in
- 0:58different room. Yes, absolutely.
- 1:00Yeah, This is not like this is not a waffle.
- 1:02This is not me bringing it. I didn't bring this up.
- 1:04Right. Yes.
- 1:05Oh, Jesus. Yeah, you'd be furious.
- 1:09To be honest, that's the kind of the low hum is kind of easy
- 1:12stuff to get rid of. Actually, it's the.
- 1:16It's the random noises that are the worst anyway.
- 1:19Yes, that was that was that was an extremely busy day.
- 1:22Only lost 1 fish in the transfer there, so one out of 13.
- 1:25So I'll take that as good news, all the shrimps.
- 1:27Wasn't the wasn't the problem Fish?
- 1:29No. It wasn't the problem, Fish.
- 1:30She's doing much better now. Her fins begin to regrow and
- 1:32everything it's she's doing really well.
- 1:34Well, at least you did the right thing by that.
- 1:37Exactly. Yes, Yeah.
- 1:39And then we had fat that we did nothing on Saturday, pretty much
- 1:41just recovering from that day. Yeah.
- 1:45And the Sunday we had family over to my brother and
- 1:47sister-in-law and nephews. That was that was good fun,
- 1:49kids. Then Easter egg and Easter egg
- 1:51hunt. Oh, yeah.
- 1:53Even though they're 1213 and 16 now, they're still like, can we
- 1:56do it? They're like, yeah, it's
- 1:57chocolate. Let's go for it.
- 1:59Yeah, exactly. Mine beg.
- 2:01Mine beg to do 1 as well. So I'd say, well, OK, you know
- 2:05it's me. Yes.
- 2:06OK, good. Yeah.
- 2:09And then did nothing on the Monday because it's bank holiday
- 2:12here obviously as well. So good.
- 2:15Nice. Make sure you're busy and quiet.
- 2:17So it's good, Yeah, the weather's gone bad here again.
- 2:19That's the only problem. It's getting used to nice
- 2:22weather and now it's going a bit rainy and.
- 2:24It was lovely here on Sunday, we were sat outside in the garden
- 2:27all day and then it's chucked it down most of the time since
- 2:30then. Yeah, same.
- 2:32Here and Mal WrestleMania how did the.
- 2:34Teacher spent, spent the like mornings up until lunchtime in
- 2:38bed, then hung out with my mate, went for a few beers, wander
- 2:42around, get a bit of exercise and then stayed up till 4:00 AM.
- 2:46Hit to watch WrestleMania. Oh, it was kind of a oh, it was
- 2:50a live thing, was it, wasn't it? Yeah, on Netflix now.
- 2:54Even though it was on Netflix, it was live OK?
- 2:56Yeah, it was good. Overall, I felt it was good.
- 2:59There was some disappointing bits.
- 3:02I think the main event on night one was much better than the
- 3:04main event on Night 2, but yeah, yeah.
- 3:07All good. So is there any surprise,
- 3:10surprise victors or? A few, yeah.
- 3:14Yeah. Well, the the the second main
- 3:17event was the was John Cena versus Cody Rhodes, and I don't
- 3:20know if it was a surprise, but it was.
- 3:22I wasn't expecting it. Would John Cena one?
- 3:26Yeah. To become the the most, you
- 3:29know, he's won the most titles, 17 titles.
- 3:32The winningest, as they say in the.
- 3:33Winningest. That's the one.
- 3:35The winningest? And Rich just steam going out
- 3:38his ears here. Was it Rick Flair he passed in
- 3:43the most? Titles, That's it.
- 3:44You must have been level with Rick Flair and then this one
- 3:47took him past Ric Flair to stand alone as the the winningest type
- 3:51champion in WWE. It's a good storyline.
- 3:55So yeah, we'll see where. It goes, yeah, More exciting
- 3:59John Cena news, for me anyway, is that the new series of
- 4:02Peacemaker comes out later and the first series that was
- 4:06amazing. So I'm really looking forward
- 4:07to. That yeah, I can't wait for
- 4:09that. Cool, I watched the 1st 2
- 4:12episodes now of Last of Us season 2.
- 4:15My good. All right, is it good?
- 4:17I still don't watch the first series because my good lady wife
- 4:19was hummed in hard about whether she wanted to watch or not has
- 4:22now finally decided no. So that's my thing to start
- 4:25watching. Yeah, it started off slow.
- 4:28Like the first half of the first episode was fairly what it was a
- 4:30little bit establishing because there's a bit of a time jump and
- 4:34from the first season. But yeah, it got down to
- 4:38business and Episode 2, I was certainly behind the couch for
- 4:43half of it. Oh wow.
- 4:45So yeah, if that's episode 2, I don't know what the rest of it's
- 4:50going to be. So anybody that watches your
- 4:53show, if John gets paler and paler, of course the next few
- 4:55weeks, he's just getting more and more terrified.
- 4:57Especially as the weather's getting better than that, that's
- 4:59that's really bad. What did you do with your
- 5:03weekend besides? Me, I played, I played golf
- 5:07twice and I'm back on the golf train.
- 5:09My shoulder is kind of cleared up a little bit.
- 5:12So got out on Saturday and Monday, so that was pretty
- 5:17sweet. And Sunday we had, what should
- 5:21we do Sunday? Oh, we had some people over
- 5:24relations over after lunch for a bit of cake and stuff, so that
- 5:31was cool. Yeah.
- 5:32And Oh no, we went to the neighbors.
- 5:34Sorry. Yeah, we went to the neighbors.
- 5:35It's my best brother's birthday. That was it.
- 5:37Yeah. Couldn't remember, even though
- 5:39I'm not drinking, I couldn't remember.
- 5:40So that that that was just getting old.
- 5:46Now we had we had some nice pudding stuff with with our meal
- 5:48on the Sunday. So Kerry did banoffee pie, just
- 5:51gorgeous. And Holly all by herself made
- 5:54some brownies, some gabries, mini egg brownies which are
- 5:58absolutely amazing. But I swear to God, she
- 6:01begrudges me every mouthful. It's like, it's like, can I have
- 6:04some brownie Holly? And then she'll come in and just
- 6:07glare at me because I'm eating something.
- 6:08It's like you need to share the food you make.
- 6:10Yeah. The joy of baking is to share,
- 6:14just to bake for yourself. Yeah, she's like, you better not
- 6:16eat the middle bit. I was like, no, no, I'll just
- 6:18take stuff around the edges. That's fine.
- 6:20Don't you know? Don't worry.
- 6:21Yeah, you know, you can even have one of the mini eggs on top
- 6:25of whatever, you know, if you really want it.
- 6:30Yeah. What have you been doing all
- 6:31your life? Sharing, you know, with her?
- 6:34Exactly, I said, I said, well I won't share where I make then
- 6:36it, she responded, well you're so rubbish.
- 6:38She's like, whoa, absolutely. What?
- 6:42That's my money. My money.
- 6:44'S not good. That's fighting talk.
- 6:45Here we go. Yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll call your
- 6:49bluff on that. Actually, Speaking of fish tanks
- 6:53that I finally got this guy out to paint from Brian C.
- 6:56Ah, awesome. So I was an hour, at least an
- 7:02hour or two over the weekend trying to fit parts together to,
- 7:07to make a custom with him, you know, making sure they fit and
- 7:11to do a little bit of drumming of the holes just for the arms.
- 7:15Because I've learned from past experience that if you just jump
- 7:18into painting and then the stuff doesn't fit and everything isn't
- 7:22kind of, you haven't got your parts picked out for the, you
- 7:25know, the names and all that kind of stuff just gets messy.
- 7:28So. It has an unnecessary level of
- 7:30stress. I've had a few things painted,
- 7:32probably 10 now over the past three few 3 or 4 years that I've
- 7:36been gone to put on the body and it's not fit and I've had to
- 7:39then Dremel out the neck hole in the head.
- 7:43And this is a painted head that's costing money going
- 7:44please don't break and luckily touch wood.
- 7:46Nothing has broken. But yeah, it's nervous.
- 7:48Oh yeah. That's a nightmare.
- 7:49I mean, even if you paint it yourself and then you have to
- 7:53risk breaking it, it's like, OK, I'd be, I'd be sad if I broke
- 7:57that piece, of course, because it's it's hard to get and it's I
- 8:00only have one of them. But at least I wouldn't have put
- 8:03two or three or four hours into painting it if I broke it at
- 8:06this point, you know, and I could just move on.
- 8:08But yeah, so that should be a fun one to do.
- 8:11And when over the next week or two, and I'll obviously show it
- 8:17on here when it's done. It's not crap.
- 8:21It won't be in. Which case I'd be like I never
- 8:23got around to it. Something else?
- 8:26I painted it. It was incredible.
- 8:28Then I dropped it on the floor and stood on it by accident.
- 8:31So. While I was taking the picture,
- 8:33yeah. So annoyed.
- 8:38Yeah. So that's the crack in here.
- 8:40So I wanted to have a couple of little shout outs here to the
- 8:43start. So Andy Spinks is the first one.
- 8:45He got us all our ATL 25 from Thailand to at cost push plus
- 8:52shipping. So and very nice of Andy to do
- 8:55that for us and. Yeah.
- 8:56Thank you so much, Andy. Offered so and and he sent a
- 9:00vendor badge with my one which is pretty cool.
- 9:03I feel like a bit of a fraud, but but at the same time cool to
- 9:08have. And I cracked him open there
- 9:10during the week and just top because I'm sure there's been
- 9:15reviews of this guy, but I hadn't seen a picture of the way
- 9:17it's laid out in the Trace and it's really, it's really
- 9:20impressive. Really nice figure.
- 9:22Yeah, yeah. Really well done Paint apps,
- 9:25really excellent. So yeah, you can be looking
- 9:28forward to that. I believe yours is probably with
- 9:30Rich right now. Mal is it?
- 9:32Yes, he has informed me before we came on air that on air,
- 9:36listen to me. Well, 312, I think you can.
- 9:42You can pretend that you're on air in.
- 9:44A free production meeting that's.
- 9:45It he told me that his pack, his package has arrived it.
- 9:51Has and it's big. It's a.
- 9:52Big package. It's a big package.
- 9:56That's all your best shadow planes going on, Yeah.
- 9:59Well, you know, he's coming to see me on Monday.
- 10:01He's got to impress me with his package.
- 10:03Exactly. Yeah, so Andy, bless him, sent
- 10:06them to to Brett Slodart, who very generously and sent him
- 10:09over to me with a box full of big bad toy store goodies.
- 10:12So that arrived not that long ago.
- 10:14So strangely enough for me, they're still in the box, but
- 10:17they will be out-of-the-box and I will bring one up to
- 10:19Birmingham when I see Mal on Monday so he can have his got.
- 10:21Goodies for you as well. There you go.
- 10:23There you go, looking good. Looks that good.
- 10:27The camo paint app just looks so so good.
- 10:31Yeah. It's one of those you don't
- 10:33really. Have even the little, the little
- 10:35colour on the top of the boot that's just that just brings it
- 10:39all together so nicely. So yeah, there he is.
- 10:43He's looking, he looks like his own thing, but also little.
- 10:47Not to roadblock, would we say? Yeah, I do so.
- 10:50Yes, and. It'll be cool if they do a
- 10:54couple more of these over the years and maybe, you know,
- 10:58different colour schemes, use different heads, you know,
- 11:01different builds slightly. That'd be really cool.
- 11:05A little side collection without being a kind of a thing like,
- 11:09you know. It's a really good one.
- 11:11Be some some light blue and dark blue camo colours and maybe a
- 11:15figure with a balaclava typeface covering that could maybe be
- 11:20used as a shockwave homage for GI Joe.
- 11:22So just just dropping it in the conversation then?
- 11:24Or we could get something like the Storm Shadow white, digital
- 11:29white and grey digital one that they did in GI Joe.
- 11:32Do you remember that one? That's not my storm shadow
- 11:35though, without being one of those people.
- 11:38Is there any? Is there any sort of skeleton or
- 11:40zombie type figures in GI Joe? No, no.
- 11:45Absolutely. That you could, but it's not.
- 11:49But you could do. A kind of a military skelly
- 11:51slash zombie dude. Definitely why not?
- 11:53It could be its own thing. So that's uh, that's him at this
- 11:58little custom I did recently. So it's a final picture I took
- 12:01of it. So and do you know who that head
- 12:04comes from? I need to look it up.
- 12:05I just haven't had time to research.
- 12:07I know I got an allegiance con. I do John, I told you this in
- 12:10last week's episode as well. It's UMM from walking customs
- 12:13designed by Max Customs. There you go.
- 12:16So it's a wolf king head, a dwarf, and I do remember that
- 12:19now this acts as well. I got that allegiance.
- 12:23Can't. Not sure who that comes from.
- 12:26Possibly Anthony. He'll tell me.
- 12:29Yeah, I'm not sure about that one.
- 12:30Yeah, it looks great. Anyway, I did the little gem.
- 12:33I did a little thing like a gem, so it looks cool.
- 12:37And yeah, even though it looks like Kevin Dwarf, it's all
- 12:42painted itself and the do band Cape, and I actually painted a
- 12:46little bit, I did a little bit of darker dry brushing on it to
- 12:49make it look a little bit more worn.
- 12:52So in a little bit more less 1 tone, that seems to work, yeah.
- 12:56That looks really good job. Yeah, so happy with that guy.
- 12:59Happy to have a dwarf on board for Legions con.
- 13:02Why not? Yeah, I got some.
- 13:05I got some dwarfs view as well, haven't I?
- 13:06Now that's umm, I bought some of Ralph's dwarfs.
- 13:10That's right. Yeah, I got there as well.
- 13:13And I'm just waiting for the package from Mark Calvo, which
- 13:17seems to be kind of in the in the ether tracking updated for a
- 13:22week or two so. I'm sure they're right.
- 13:26It's probably and then it's. Easter delay, you know.
- 13:28Yeah. And then as soon as I get the
- 13:31box from David with the kind of beam stuff in for you, I'll
- 13:34package all that and the figures on that I've got for you post
- 13:36that across. So awesome.
- 13:38Awesome. And then in slightly more
- 13:41worrying news, we have wolf sighting confirmed in northern
- 13:45Luxembourg and Luxembourg small. So even though I'm in eastern
- 13:49Luxembourg, northern looks is not that far away.
- 13:50Yeah, well, they do wander as well, so.
- 13:54So you guys don't have wolves believe in UK?
- 13:57We don't. There's been there's been a long
- 13:59running thing to try and get them reintroduced, but it
- 14:02doesn't seem to be going anywhere anywhere at the moment.
- 14:05But I read the article. Apparently they they kind of
- 14:08keep to themselves. You're told not to really
- 14:10approach them. And if they approach you, just
- 14:13stay calm. Yeah, there you go.
- 14:17But yeah. And then I was wondering if
- 14:20maybe there was this guy they saw the.
- 14:23Same size. The nice Grace guys there.
- 14:30When we were over in California many, many years ago, Speaking
- 14:33of animals, there was, there was a sign, we're in Yosemite and
- 14:37they've got lots of bears in Yosemite.
- 14:38And there's big signs saying if you see a bear, you know, don't
- 14:41run, just stand there, make yourself big, make a loud noise,
- 14:45but you know, don't go towards it, don't run away, you know,
- 14:47don't engage with it sort of thing.
- 14:48It's like that makes sense. I, I can follow that advice.
- 14:51And then about 300 yards on the road, there's a sign about
- 14:55mountain lions. And it was like, if you see a
- 14:57Mountain Lion, you will need to fight back.
- 15:00Standing still and trying not to do anything won't be any good in
- 15:02that stage. It's like, wow, OK, different
- 15:05advice. OK, so saying Kerry was like
- 15:06right, Mountain Lion attacks as we need to fight it.
- 15:12What do you just need to be the fastest runner?
- 15:15I'm faster than Kerry. That's a good point, actually.
- 15:17So I would have been OK. Yeah.
- 15:19Controversial. Controversial.
- 15:23That's not what you want to be doing.
- 15:24She she fights dirty though, she'd like kick me over or
- 15:27something like that and they get past me so.
- 15:30You push it, you're big, you're big, you keep them occupied,
- 15:34you're tall, right? And then something happened last
- 15:39week. So we didn't even, we speculated
- 15:41on Figure Obscura coming in a couple of weeks time and it
- 15:47might be back on the store again.
- 15:48But yeah, we got the little e-mail on Friday.
- 15:51And because it was Easter and holiday time and all that, I'd
- 15:54kind of lost the run of the day. So I actually thought it was
- 15:56already Saturday almost in my head.
- 15:58And then I saw this e-mail and it was like, that's a bit late.
- 16:01Notice it was the Friday. So let's go over to that.
- 16:27I was desperately resisting the urge to just jump out of my seat
- 16:30and burst into Bollywood dances like no, don't do it, don't do
- 16:33it. Yeah, so we got this on the
- 16:39Friday and 19th of April. There are no obstacles.
- 16:44The next you're Obscura. And for me at least, it was
- 16:49pretty quickly apparent that this was going to be Ganesha
- 16:56because loads of people were guessing it from the just a bit
- 17:00of art and the Hindu symbols kind of within the art that
- 17:07subsequently people kind of were showing us similar to stuff
- 17:12that's in the in the kind of culture for Ganesha.
- 17:18So yeah, so there was other guests as well.
- 17:21What did we have guys? Anyone else?
- 17:24And we guess there was something.
- 17:26The Monkey King maybe? No, Was it?
- 17:28RA was one that was meant, yeah. RA was.
- 17:31Very popular, yeah, from the Egyptian, which would make sense
- 17:36for what we got with the gods of ancient Egypt.
- 17:41But yet so having never really known anything about Ganesha at
- 17:46all and wouldn't have been able to tell you much about it at
- 17:50all, we've got this so pretty incredible figure.
- 17:58Seriously here? Amazing looking figure.
- 18:00Absolutely amazing. And mine is arriving already
- 18:04tomorrow. Seems like they shipped the all
- 18:07insurance out pretty rapid now. Yours is also.
- 18:11Yeah, and it's in Stansted as we speak.
- 18:15So maybe, maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday.
- 18:19Three days. Four days after ordering, it's
- 18:22already. Playing Kenya.
- 18:24Across the Atlantic. That's incredible.
- 18:26Umm Rich, you didn't order and all in SO.
- 18:29No, I bought, I bought 2 of the normal ones, so I guess that'll
- 18:32be shipping notice for that. We can add some by the next
- 18:34couple of weeks. Yeah, so Ganesha is one of the
- 18:39most recognizable deities in the Hindu pantheon.
- 18:42The elephant headed Ganesha with a name that joins the word Ghana
- 18:47meaning group, and Isha meaning Lord or master.
- 18:52Ganesha is often referred to as the Lord of hosts, the Lord of
- 18:55people, a fitting moniker for this beloved deity who is the
- 19:00next entry into the ranks of Figure Obscura.
- 19:05So I think it's pretty cool that they go for, they go this way.
- 19:12They don't just go for a kind of, you know, stuff that was IP
- 19:15and is now out of IP or whatever.
- 19:17They go for stuff that probably it wouldn't be, it wouldn't be
- 19:21possible to put an IP on this almost, you know, like the same
- 19:26with the gods of ancient Egypt. It's kind of something from, you
- 19:30know, it's a bit like, I suppose the Bible.
- 19:32You can't really copyright the Bible.
- 19:35It's just is what it is. So we can be looking through all
- 19:40our lists of non IP but non public domain stuff and we're
- 19:45going to have to start casting the net wider when we do
- 19:47predictions, Sir. Well, I found out a very
- 19:49exciting one is public domain this week, and I know I
- 19:54hurriedly messaged you apparently Pinocchio's public
- 19:57domain, so that'd be cool if we got him at some point.
- 20:01That'd be awesome. Do we want to get to Petal as
- 20:04well then or? Yeah, yeah.
- 20:06Anything, Yeah, anything from that'd be cool.
- 20:09Pinocchio as a kind of a smaller puppet or.
- 20:13The thing is when you come with your mini cricket though, he
- 20:14probably wouldn't, would he? That's probably IP.
- 20:17Protected. Is that what you'd want or?
- 20:22Yeah, just take cricket with him.
- 20:23Just go. Yeah, just coincidentally, he's
- 20:25holding a little cricket. No reason.
- 20:27Yeah, yeah. Name to be TBC.
- 20:31Exactly, Yeah. So this was the all in,
- 20:33obviously the figure, the pain and the mug mug looks cool.
- 20:37It's a it's a proper coffee slash team mug.
- 20:40So I love those prefer those to the kind of tin ones.
- 20:43The tin ones I don't really use for anything.
- 20:46They're just more decoration or maybe paint water, but I
- 20:51probably wouldn't use them for that.
- 20:53But I don't like drinking out of them.
- 20:55So these are much more preferable.
- 21:01Yeah, fat body, rich. We happy with that.
- 21:03You're going to have heard of stomping elephants.
- 21:05That's a bit rude. He's been harsh, I.
- 21:07Mean, yeah, but there we go. Wow.
- 21:09I painted one for you last year so.
- 21:12You did, Yeah. No, I've commissioned a couple
- 21:13of fat torsos as well. So yeah, this is great.
- 21:16I think the community have been crying out for a dad bod, hasn't
- 21:19it, for quite some time now. So it's it's great that we've
- 21:21got it this way. And then, yeah, you know the.
- 21:24I mean it's brute scale, isn't it?
- 21:26So it should scale OK with one point zeros as well?
- 21:29To a degree, Yeah. So yeah, roll on the, roll on
- 21:32the fatter pig warriors, etcetera.
- 21:36Just saying. Yeah, that would be great,
- 21:38wouldn't it? But this is definitely open the
- 21:41door for that and they can revisit Monkey King with Pigsie
- 21:44at some point. Might be a year or two down the
- 21:48line though at this stage then if they were, if they've
- 21:50released this one now. I think so, yeah.
- 21:52I mean just intrigued whether take a slightly off topic
- 21:55whether they'll do four this year so maybe drop a Gods of
- 22:00Egypt in as well as the normal Halloween and Christmas one.
- 22:04Maybe a single, because this is a single, yeah.
- 22:07It's a single. Figure yeah, I mean, that is
- 22:10perhaps the thing we should also mention isn't it, is that
- 22:13they've dropped this earlier than they usually do.
- 22:17Yes, they're going to have another release of it for those
- 22:21people who couldn't afford it just following the Dragon Fund
- 22:27fundraiser. I nearly called it.
- 22:30Yeah, crowdfund, but that still leaves May open for who knows.
- 22:37A lot. Yeah.
- 22:38Yeah. There could be other shenanigans
- 22:40in May. Definitely.
- 22:44Yeah. So beautiful packaging, as
- 22:45usual. This one is a kind of in a, what
- 22:48do they call it? A, But it's a kind of weird box.
- 22:52It's almost like a square, but a tube.
- 22:55Yes, one used the term obelisk. I'm not sure if that's.
- 22:57Obelisk. OK.
- 22:58Yeah, I think it is symmetrical though.
- 23:00It's not like doesn't narrow into at the top.
- 23:03But yeah, it's kind of different dimension to what we're used to.
- 23:09Beautiful art from Nate here. Really incredible.
- 23:15The different kind of. Some of this was done by that
- 23:20new chap who's joined the studio and doing some of the art.
- 23:23I can't remember which bits now. Yeah.
- 23:24I think it might be the inside cover here of the inside cover,
- 23:29the of the flap, Yeah. Is it Chris?
- 23:31Somebody, I think they said. Something like that, isn't it?
- 23:35Yes, talented dudes, they have worked in there.
- 23:37Absolutely. Really talented.
- 23:40Yeah. So this is all the stuff you
- 23:42get. So let's see here.
- 23:44What? So it's a brute scale, which is
- 23:47great because it means it's compatible with one point O, as
- 23:50opposed to Ogre scale was to think when we saw the teaser
- 23:53first and we were thinking of this Ganesha type of an elephant
- 23:58or whatever, that maybe Ogre scale might come into it.
- 24:02But I'm glad they went for this scale because it's more
- 24:06compatible with more parts and also probably slightly cheaper
- 24:12in the end as well. Yeah.
- 24:13And I think, I think because figure Obscura is one of those
- 24:16lines where people just, you know, a lot of people just
- 24:19collect that. So to all of a sudden have a
- 24:22much bigger scale figure when you're not used to it.
- 24:24If you're not mythic collecting or cosmic collecting, then it
- 24:27makes much more sense to keep it pretty much in line.
- 24:31I think so, yeah. And it's still bigger than.
- 24:33Oh yeah, like he's a big delighted Princess.
- 24:35Or monkey King or whatever. Yeah, so 99.9 and a quarter
- 24:43inches tall when the crown is on him.
- 24:46So there you go. The accessories include a bowl
- 24:51of Madoka, which is this kind of food stuff here, this little
- 24:55triangular food stuff. It's a dessert, a para shoe,
- 24:59which is the axe. These are all new scopes, I
- 25:03guess it's incredible all the new scopes they put into this a
- 25:06Pasha, a bounty of fruit, apples, bananas and grapes.
- 25:10So if you ever needed apples, bananas or grapes for the
- 25:14customer, for your display, there you go, his mouse slash
- 25:19rash companion. So you can, it's not
- 25:23specifically a mouse or a rat, it could be either.
- 25:26And lots of assorted jewellery and adornments that can be
- 25:29placed in various different ways on the figure.
- 25:33So we saw them around the wrists, around the bottom of the
- 25:36legs. But yeah, so we get the fully
- 25:40bear arms on the brute scale figure here.
- 25:45Taranog was maybe the last one we got that on, but he's in
- 25:49green. So you get this little seat
- 25:52because he's often pictured on the seat.
- 25:54So removable crown and back piece of dormant 2 swappable
- 26:01trunks. I mean, some people were maybe
- 26:07like, oh, I don't like the the articulation caught in the
- 26:10trunk, but it doesn't bother me at all.
- 26:12These are figures after all. And then that you have two
- 26:17different options is just amazing.
- 26:20So it's pre posed and it's bendy so.
- 26:23Can we, can we also mention the articulated ears?
- 26:25I love that fact. When you're getting articulated,
- 26:28yes, the ears. Are on a ball, aren't they?
- 26:31Yeah, they can do all sorts of cool poses with them.
- 26:35So 8 total hands, 4 arms. So to allow a variety of poses
- 26:40and expressions and the arms here, why do we get two
- 26:46different arms? Do we know?
- 26:48It's just the ones that plugged into his back.
- 26:50Plug in the back, yeah. Oh, yes, of course he does.
- 26:52The four. Yeah.
- 26:53The. Sorry, he has the the forearm
- 26:56pose. Yeah.
- 26:59And a fully illustrated booklet with five stories about Ganesha.
- 27:02So that's cool. So you can learn upon Ganesha.
- 27:05Maybe we can have a look at them down the line.
- 27:08And isn't it one of the hands is another one of the cool ones,
- 27:10isn't it, where it's got a little peg on so you can sit,
- 27:12you can properly hold the bowl of fruit or whatever?
- 27:15Yes, but it does, Yeah. You see at the bottom right here
- 27:18in the in this main picture. Yeah.
- 27:21So we take a look at them there yet.
- 27:23So you see all the arms there. So I could have flicked on to
- 27:27the next picture and I wouldn't have had to make a tit out of
- 27:29myself. Yeah, I'd love to paint on the
- 27:34trunk. It's great.
- 27:36Everything about it's so so. Good and the soft goods, of
- 27:38course, the these traditional pants that they're.
- 27:44So good, aren't they, those pants?
- 27:46Yeah, they're really great. Yeah, really great.
- 27:51Yeah. So you see, you can hold the
- 27:53bowl as you see. As you said, they're rich.
- 27:55It's cool. I don't know how I'll be
- 27:58displaying them. Yeah, that looks really cool
- 28:03around the back as well there with the this kind of piece
- 28:08behind the crown. And of course, we have a
- 28:10beautiful picture from Trevor, an environment shop where he has
- 28:15the he has the rat on his of the mouse.
- 28:18I'm going to say mouse because it's an elephant is the mouse on
- 28:22the palm of his hand And their friends apparently in the in the
- 28:27stories. So that's pretty cool because of
- 28:30course, traditionally my elephants are scared of mice, so
- 28:34a bit like how a lot of humans are scared of spiders even
- 28:37though they're much bigger than you know.
- 28:43So what's the plan with this one now then?
- 28:45Is it the same one in box 1 to display?
- 28:48Yeah, my usual one in box 111 displayed and I did, I did get
- 28:52an A third one to have a bit of a play around with in terms of
- 28:57parts and if they could be used elsewhere and that sort of
- 29:00thing. But yeah, like I've got myself
- 29:05in the hole. But I do like having the one
- 29:07mint in box, so yeah. You have to stay three figures a
- 29:12year them out. You know, you know true.
- 29:16But I mean if you ever get into a hole, you can always those
- 29:19will sell pretty easy box it's probably.
- 29:21Worth a bit of money at that point, isn't it?
- 29:22Really. Yeah, Rich.
- 29:25Then how many? So I've got 2, so one I'll
- 29:28display in my on my finger obscure shelf.
- 29:32I love the fact you can do crossed legs.
- 29:33So I might go down that route, maybe cross leg sitting on his
- 29:36little, his little stool. And then one I'll use more as
- 29:40like a elephant warrior sort of thing in mythics.
- 29:44I might stick with the head that comes with it.
- 29:46Or I might there's I send you guys pictures.
- 29:48There's there's about four or five different third party
- 29:52sculpts of elephant heads. That's right.
- 29:55And one of them's got like a like an armoured helmet really,
- 29:59but it's a bit thinner, but you know, like a decorative armoured
- 30:02piece across the top. So that one would work really
- 30:05well with this. I might just get that and get
- 30:06one of those painted up. Very good.
- 30:09Yeah, yeah, it's it seems like the torso, it really only works
- 30:14with this belt. In terms of the look from the
- 30:19video review I saw from Dorklar, which you should, I'm sure
- 30:22you've checked out, but I know if you're, if you watch our
- 30:24show. So that's maybe the only thing
- 30:28with regards to the reusability of the parts.
- 30:30But at the same time, sometimes they have to sacrifice, uh, it
- 30:35thinks for the look of a particular figure, you know,
- 30:38yeah, I'm sure they'd like it to be more reusable, but they can
- 30:41of course do a different belt. See they have the luxury of
- 30:45being able to just sculpt a new belt and and do it for if
- 30:48they're doing a a different figure with a big torso like
- 30:51this that. Well, I mean, that's, that's,
- 30:53that's what'll happen eventually, isn't it?
- 30:55This will get reused initially or or they'll reuse part of it
- 30:59with with a new belt that they'll then sculpt and then
- 31:03there's another belt. It's what they've done with
- 31:04everything that they go along. They.
- 31:07Or the good other elephant warrior.
- 31:09Oh, cool. Or they could have a couple of
- 31:11versions of the torso already done, so one with a, you know,
- 31:14without the forearm so that the backs filled in and just the
- 31:17waist and there's a slight differently so it works with
- 31:19different belts. It's not just.
- 31:20I wouldn't be something that works with this.
- 31:24And I've seen that I've but there's been a few people sort
- 31:26of complaining about and, and you know, don't like mentions it
- 31:30that because of that stomach and the way it is, it's that
- 31:35articulation points, maybe not the same as it is normally, but
- 31:39in my head I'm like, he's a big fat guy.
- 31:42I mean, speaking as not a big fat guy, but a little bit of a
- 31:45fat guy. I don't move as well as some of
- 31:47these thinner trimmer people, you know, So I the bigger
- 31:53someone is, the less they are going to be able to move.
- 31:55Across his legs. So that's, yeah, that's the
- 31:58point. Over a few of us here, I'm sure.
- 32:01Exactly. And again, that the casual
- 32:03collector who probably makes up a big part of the market for the
- 32:06figure obscure. They're not going to worry about
- 32:09articulation, they just want a cool looking ganache figure,
- 32:12which is what they get here. Exactly.
- 32:15Definitely, Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:17So pretty, pretty cool. Brave of them to put it out so
- 32:22quickly after bathe here. But at the same time their
- 32:25business. So they have to keep, they have
- 32:27to keep on trucking, you know. Yeah, I think in the past they
- 32:30might have held off, but now they're just like, no, you know,
- 32:32at the end of the day, we are a business.
- 32:34But it's I think the difference here is as well.
- 32:37It's an in stock thing. So you you pay like if you have
- 32:41to pay for the dragon and wait with this, you're you're getting
- 32:45it within a week or two. Yeah, for maybe for you, Rich,
- 32:48but yeah, so. Curse me for bad mouthing
- 32:53Barbarians. It's it's I'm copping on the
- 32:55ship in on especially. What it's all about.
- 32:58Who in the shipping department? Yeah, they all like Barbarians
- 33:00in the shipping department. So you're you're snooker there.
- 33:07Yeah. So I got the all in and I think
- 33:09that's that's what I'm going to stick with for customs.
- 33:15I think I have too much going on and then to also try and you
- 33:20know, it's not as I once I saw it wasn't as easy a reuse with
- 33:24the torso. I was like, OK, I can, I can
- 33:28wait on this guy and see even if I get my first one and then I
- 33:33see that I could use it for certain things, I can always try
- 33:37and get one in the second drop. Like I also guarantee in the
- 33:40road to Legions can't be but going to start doing amazing
- 33:43things with this bug. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:45Turn them into fat who goes, oh, you know, whatever sort of
- 33:48thing. So that'll give you inspiration
- 33:50and they should fingers crossed off some of these for sale
- 33:52allegiance con so. Yeah, yeah, they usually have a
- 33:56few, not not like a huge amount, but they usually have a few of
- 33:59the figure obscuras from the so usually not that hard to get as
- 34:04maybe the first one or two were once they went out of stock.
- 34:10So yeah, Anton Moore and Ganesha or just happy we have them.
- 34:16Great figure, happy we have him and he's got articulated ears
- 34:19which is absolutely insane. And and I was.
- 34:22Watching door Claire's review and I kept saying to my wife, I
- 34:23was just like, he's got articulated ears.
- 34:25She's like, I know, stop saying that, but it's articulated ears
- 34:29so. Good.
- 34:32But yeah, it's exciting what it means potentially moving forward
- 34:36as well in in mythics and cosmics doesn't isn't it so?
- 34:41Definitely, yeah, yeah. And see what we get next.
- 34:44But yeah, just to see the amount of work.
- 34:47I mean they always do. But this is even bigger
- 34:51departure than we say. The gods evaded to Egypt.
- 34:54There was a load of new parts and that, but they were still
- 34:58the the 1.0 kind of using a lot of the parts for this.
- 35:02This is when they do a new torso, full new torso, like this
- 35:07kind of new style. It is a big thing, so exciting,
- 35:14right? And well, to to round out the
- 35:16show this week, we're going to, as we said last week, talk about
- 35:21the lore from it's been introduced, the two new
- 35:29factions, the sect of a Resius. So got that one, I think
- 35:36borderline right and of course the order of bait here for the
- 35:40Dragons. So we can have a little look
- 35:45through these and then maybe talk about what we think's
- 35:49happening or what might happen or what's missing, what what's
- 35:53to come. So now do you want to read us
- 35:57the? Sector Oresius, One of a number
- 36:00of sub factions that formed under the heretical Order of the
- 36:03Five Pillars. This faction was still survives
- 36:06in mythos today, with members hidden in the shadows where they
- 36:09carry on the teachings of their ancient religion, the Order of
- 36:13Baathir. Unwaveringly loyal to the great
- 36:16green dragon Baathir that Order bears, his name is comprised of
- 36:21a military force whose origins stretch back to the earliest
- 36:24days of mythos. The Order of Baathir.
- 36:27Then we have the three new figures from the Beater
- 36:32campaign, The Dragon, of course, Beater's Fury and Sir Vinegar
- 36:40So. Yeah, it doesn't sort of, it
- 36:42reads like they don't maybe fit in with the good guy, bad guy
- 36:46situation that we've got so much at the moment.
- 36:48Although Bayer theory kind of hints is the is the more noble
- 36:54the more good of the two, doesn't it?
- 36:56With what's been said? Yeah, but they they seem to be
- 37:00protectors of, you know, you've got this five pillar thing that
- 37:04we'll talk to talk about with be it there.
- 37:07They seem to be protectors of the whole realm of mythos, you
- 37:13know, whether it be against what they perceive as good and bad,
- 37:17not necessarily what we think is good and bad within what we have
- 37:23already, you know, So, you know, they might see Zylonas flock as
- 37:28bad because they're doing something that they, you know,
- 37:32don't agree with. Yeah.
- 37:35Being too hippyish, they're like whoa, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 37:38no. These guys are the rich of
- 37:42metals and they and the sect of Oresius such as Aria the
- 37:52Talamber and then Arzak who is in circle Epoxis right now that
- 37:59we knew and Rhaegar who was of course factionless up until now.
- 38:07So interesting here. Obviously Aria we got with the
- 38:11reign of the beasts pre-order recently Gcon and then the other
- 38:17two are existing figures. Arzak more recently in Poxis but
- 38:23seems to have switched allegiance and Rhaegar has found
- 38:26a home. So yeah, very interesting.
- 38:32Yeah, Arzak's right old turncoat, isn't he?
- 38:34Because he started off with the Convocation of Basilia, didn't
- 38:38he? And then he swapped to the
- 38:39circle Epoxis and now it turns out actually he's part of the
- 38:42sector with Eresius. I'd say Arzak is in Arzak's
- 38:45faction. Well.
- 38:47Perhaps he was finding information and gathering
- 38:50information for Orezius. Maybe.
- 38:54Yeah, yeah, maybe. The return of Orezius.
- 38:58Let's let's read through the BIOS then, Mal, starting with
- 39:01Sir Bengar, the old one here. Yeah, Sir Bengar, the Order of
- 39:08Baathe is a military force charged with protecting the
- 39:11resting place of the Pillar of the West and also furthering his
- 39:15commands during his long slumbers as a champion of
- 39:19Baathir. Sir Benigar is an important
- 39:21member of the Order that bears his name and one of the great
- 39:25Green Dragons most ardently devoted soldiers.
- 39:31Cool. And then if we go to Baathir's
- 39:33Fury. I really like this this bio for
- 39:37Baathir's Fury. Baath is Fury, elite soldiers
- 39:43sworn to the mighty pillar of the West.
- 39:45The unit known as Baath is Fury are the shock troops of this
- 39:49order. Fighting under the command of
- 39:51the Bengal. The Furies wear silver battle
- 39:54masks under their helmets. These masks bear the likeness of
- 39:58heroes who have fallen in the course of their military
- 40:01service. By donning the faces of the
- 40:03remembered, the Furies believe that even in death.
- 40:07Soldiers are able to continue to serve in the order of bait
- 40:11there. That's pretty cool, yeah.
- 40:15Yeah, I really. Like the the parts reused as
- 40:19well. So I always like when BIOS do
- 40:22that and and then to get a full picture here we have bait here.
- 40:28Pretty hard to read on the screen here, but yeah, I've got.
- 40:32It. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:36One of the ancient Dragons known as the Five Pillars of the First
- 40:39World, the green dragon that makes it home in the deep
- 40:43forests of the West is called by many names.
- 40:45Beathe the Green, the Pillar of the West, and the Warden of the
- 40:49Wood, being a few of these monikers.
- 40:53Beathe was first of the pillars to emerge in the modern age of
- 40:56mythos. This mighty dragon looked out
- 40:59upon the landscape that was both familiar and strange to him.
- 41:03In the middle of the great sea, an area where no land should
- 41:06have existed, a new continent now lay flying high above these
- 41:11uncharted lands. Baathir looked down and saw a
- 41:14golden tower rising high into the sky, it's sides adorned with
- 41:19the likeness of mighty beasts. Strange beings gathered around
- 41:23the towers base, pointing to the skies with fascination in their
- 41:27eyes. As Baathir circled high above
- 41:29the tower, the pillar of the West could sense the threat
- 41:33before him. This land and its people did not
- 41:36belong. They were intruders in the world
- 41:40he had known for so long, and their presence had to be dealt
- 41:43with. Flying back towards his den,
- 41:46Baathin knew what he had to do. He could not remember the last
- 41:50time all 5 pillars woke at the same time, but he also could not
- 41:54remember a threat as dire as what he saw before him.
- 41:57Now he must raise his order and awaken the other pillars.
- 42:02Together they decide what must be done to save the world of
- 42:05Mythos. So what do we think, Rich?
- 42:08I mean, the the part that we knew as mythos or that continent
- 42:12before that seems to be news to bear there.
- 42:14So that's that's interesting. Very interesting.
- 42:17Yeah, it's, you know, he's going for a nice little fly bit of a
- 42:20Seaview and then he's like, what?
- 42:22What is that? Yeah, so how long has he been
- 42:26asleep would be the question. Yes, because you presuming that
- 42:31Mythos, the continent that we've know as Mythos, must been around
- 42:34for at least a couple of 1000 years.
- 42:36Yeah, so he's been asleep for a long time.
- 42:40Yeah, you'll have to get the old arthritis meds out.
- 42:44Put them going that'll. Be why the Giants sound like
- 42:48they do. Yeah, so.
- 42:52Let's hope for the kings and the mountains sake he doesn't have
- 42:54the same dislike A dwarfs as Smaug did in in Hobbit.
- 42:58Otherwise, yeah, they're in trouble.
- 43:00And do you guys remember what Jeremy said at Tcon about the
- 43:03five pillars? Yes, he said.
- 43:05They were all Dragons, didn't he?
- 43:07Yes, I have it here, just in case we missed it.
- 43:11So the question was, are the five pillars of mythos all
- 43:14Dragons? Yes, they are, but not
- 43:19necessarily all exactly this. So there you go, about 4
- 43:27minutes, 31 or 4 hours, 31 minutes into the G gun stream.
- 43:33So at the very end of it, yes, someone asked that question and
- 43:38so Jeremy said so. I don't know.
- 43:40There was people speculating that they weren't all Dragons at
- 43:44some point I saw in the Cabal, but that seems to clearly state
- 43:48that they are. He mentioned this on his show
- 43:53and he didn't backtrack necessarily, but he wasn't as
- 43:57committal about all 5 being Dragons so I think we'll see.
- 44:03Yeah, but they could. I I think they're all type of
- 44:05creatures though, so. Oh yeah, yeah, I think that.
- 44:09Creatures, they're all. Reusing some of the dragon
- 44:12parts, I think is is it's the message really, You know, we
- 44:17might get a different head, might get, you know, slightly
- 44:21different tale or something like this, but they're all this type
- 44:26of creature, so. See I I think they might do a
- 44:31big one like this one more and then the other three be smaller
- 44:34stuff. Yeah, that would be.
- 44:36It could be super, could be super powerful stuff, but just
- 44:38not on the scale. Yes, because apartment analysis.
- 44:41If you've got 5 Dragons this big, very few people have got
- 44:44room to display that. Yeah, can confirm.
- 44:47Yeah, yeah, I think most people don't have room to display one.
- 44:52I was going to say, you know if Marvel or Disney can wreck con
- 44:57stuff, 4 horsemen can wreck con as well.
- 45:02Yeah, exactly. So where do you think this this
- 45:06puts us in in like for the next wave, what would you see is
- 45:10coming like the next mythics wave related to this?
- 45:14Richard, do you have any? You know what I'm going to
- 45:18launch into Shark Man. Lizard Man.
- 45:21How does it relate to this then? Is it just because of the the
- 45:24other land masses in sea that we've seen?
- 45:27Yeah, so, so I was thinking, I mean, Jeremy obviously gave the
- 45:29hint about prepare to set sail. Well, we're presuming it's a
- 45:33hint prepare to set sail next year.
- 45:37So it could be a case of that. The inhabitants mythos take to
- 45:40their ships and go further afield than they have done
- 45:42before. So maybe they meet new races
- 45:44that way, or maybe you know, some of the races now that both
- 45:49has seen mythos, some of the other races come over a little
- 45:51bit maybe. So, you know, either way, it
- 45:53gives the sort of C element. But the same chance, an
- 45:56opportunity to introduce new characters and and new races.
- 46:00I mean, that's one of the things that's excited me the most.
- 46:02You know, yes, it's a bigger map and I cannot wait to see how
- 46:06they're going to wreck on it all into the the idea of mythos
- 46:09being just the one continent. And now it's not I, I can't wait
- 46:12to see how they do that. But yeah, it's now, you know,
- 46:16now there's new races and new types of characters, so.
- 46:20A new man, your thoughts on it? I don't think we'll really get
- 46:26much more about the five pillars until the the G Con wave in in
- 46:33November. I think.
- 46:38Yeah, I think it's more likely as well we might get another
- 46:41member of, you know, like Erasius is Sect or something
- 46:46like that. You know, I think you'll be
- 46:47more, but I think it's going to be one of those stories and
- 46:51things that grows over time a bit, you know, rather than just
- 46:56get a whole load of stuff at once.
- 46:59I mean they could use a sect of Erasius as as the the way,
- 47:02couldn't they? So somebody from that contacts
- 47:06their contacts as it were on one of the other continents and then
- 47:09all of a sudden they come out because of that.
- 47:11So, you know, there's that weigh in as well.
- 47:14And do you think an interesting thing to do would be to we'd say
- 47:18in this in the middle waves? So there's there's going to be
- 47:22probably another mythics wave between now and G Con, you know,
- 47:25like there was last year with ashes about Bendor.
- 47:28Do you think that this might be a way for you could get
- 47:32different character types into this new part of the story?
- 47:37So, you know, whether it's these factions are introducing other
- 47:39factions, but you know, you got dwarves, you got goblins, you
- 47:43got orcs, you've got demons, you've got skeletons, etcetera.
- 47:48And they're the existing ones. So you can get a couple of those
- 47:51sprinkled into these new factions, you know.
- 47:54Oh. I think, yeah, I think that's
- 47:55relevant to that initially, yeah.
- 47:58Possibility. And then one or two of what
- 48:00Richard says, maybe, you know, new character types.
- 48:03I mean, we've got the snake men. We're probably a head sculpt
- 48:07away from like a lizard for example.
- 48:12It feels like if we get, to me anyway, if we're going to get
- 48:19new continent people, it seems focus on this woodland continent
- 48:25that Baath is from would probably be the way to go
- 48:28initially. Although we have also got a
- 48:30rezi, A raisius, but we don't know.
- 48:33So much. Yeah, here we possibly.
- 48:37Possibly for horsemen treatment. You know my love of treatment.
- 48:39Yeah, yeah, yeah. What else around Dragons could
- 48:45you, could you think of, you know, in terms of gnomes?
- 48:52Gnomes. Gnomes and fungi, people, the
- 48:58workhorses behind the Dragon's success.
- 49:00No, but I mean we got the night. We've got the kind of Knights of
- 49:02the Beaters, Fury and the Serve Vinegar and that's a good.
- 49:07Point yeah, it's a warrior yeah group this one.
- 49:11So perhaps Bayotheers group will very much be like Etherons
- 49:17group, you know, more Unite beta.
- 49:20Tears Barbarian now. It doesn't doesn't read like
- 49:25that does it to if if Bath is fury is the is the generally the
- 49:29army, It feels more like it'll be you know.
- 49:33Valerians will be richest fury. And we, we don't seem to be
- 49:37getting like dragon riders as such.
- 49:41So, you know, we're not going to get a bunch like the Dick
- 49:44Targaryens in, in Game of Thrones, whatever.
- 49:46We're not going to get that type of a character as such.
- 49:52I think that's a good thing. Well, yeah, I mean, it's
- 49:56different. It's for sure.
- 49:58I feel like a rare erasius. I'll get it right eventually,
- 50:01so. You're reading the BIOS next.
- 50:07It's going to be a tough one. I was going to say I think
- 50:12that's going to be the way we get and and one of the other
- 50:16continents. But it could well be the one
- 50:18where Erasius is the fifth pillar of which is another
- 50:21dragon. We know it's another dragon.
- 50:23The face is a dragon face. It's probably a little worm like
- 50:27dragon, you know, the Asian Chinese style dragon that I feel
- 50:36like is where we're going to get the Asian armor coming in and we
- 50:39might get a few more barbaric type characters.
- 50:42Could we get some that look a bit samurais?
- 50:45We've already got a couple where they're starting to look a bit
- 50:49like that. Rich is Rich is wanting to shout
- 50:53at you there. I'm very excited by that
- 50:55prospect. Do you know me anything?
- 50:57No. Barbarians are fine.
- 51:00Yeah, I mean, you know, because there's somebody wrong.
- 51:02I mean, yeah, it's different. I'm sort of Barbarians is one
- 51:05thing. That samurai they're, you know,
- 51:08yeah. But yeah, the whole line took a
- 51:10swerve towards the Middle East and the Far East.
- 51:13I personally would be overjoyed because there's so many cool
- 51:16armour types and that sort of stuff.
- 51:19Yeah, I mean, that's what they can definitely do with with, you
- 51:22know, visiting certain places in the map.
- 51:23I think one of the most interesting things about a new
- 51:28wave coming might be that we get a more detail on a particular
- 51:33section of that now exploded map that we've seen of mythos.
- 51:37So you get to see place names and, you know, areas within, say
- 51:44the eastern part of the map. I mean, Baiter is West, so he's
- 51:47pillar of the West, so. I've got a question for you
- 51:52guys. So it says with Sabinegar that
- 51:58you know, they're charged with Pop, one of the things is
- 52:00protecting him in his slumber and that sort of stuff, which
- 52:03suggests they're on this other continent.
- 52:05However, the face sculpt is human, and if humans were
- 52:08created by Celine and Helios, then.
- 52:12Were they? Well, that was the that was the
- 52:15suggestion in their BIOS. So if that was the case, then
- 52:19how are they on the other continent?
- 52:22Well, I mean, it's not the same way that Zeus created humans
- 52:27over here and whoever created human and our God created humans
- 52:33over here. And is that not just?
- 52:36Some other entity sort of thing that might have done OK?
- 52:39Yeah, that would work with me. In in the Celine and Helios
- 52:44thing is, they they fell deeply in love and together they
- 52:48created many children which would first populate the earth.
- 52:52So I mean, how did they come to be?
- 52:57You know, it's like, it's OK, they're gods and goddesses, but
- 53:03you know, maybe they weren't the only ones.
- 53:06Such, yeah, all the pillars, they, they spread out a bit more
- 53:11initially, and then the two of them sort of focused in a bit
- 53:14more on the continent that we've known as Mythos.
- 53:17So that's why Helios made these bad guys appear there.
- 53:21Do we know where where Bater's story originally fits in on the
- 53:27on the lower you know, when did Bater come into existence?
- 53:31We. Haven't got that yet.
- 53:32Before, we haven't got that. So that might be important.
- 53:35Suggests before the time of the be great beast doesn't.
- 53:39It yeah, does suggest that. So I think that there'll be a
- 53:48little bit of reckoning to do there then with that possibly.
- 53:52But I don't think people are. I mean, I think it's only a
- 53:56small majority of the collectors that are clued into the the
- 54:00story up to now really deeply and the people that are not
- 54:06really well. And then there's the casual
- 54:09people that I suppose we were before starting the podcast that
- 54:16kind of, you know, take bits from it that are cool.
- 54:19And, uh, I guess now we're kind of get, we're more deeply into
- 54:24it. So we're, we're interested to
- 54:26see where it goes. But, uh, I think that my thing
- 54:30about the lore is to see what maybe it's going to bring us in
- 54:34terms of character types is, is very interesting.
- 54:38And then if we get a full rounded story, uh, that like you
- 54:41can read in the form of a book or, you know, or one particular
- 54:47story that kind of makes a good, you know, a good fictional
- 54:51account or something that that's what's interests me.
- 54:54You know, something you could make like a movie out of or you
- 54:57could make, you know, a cartoon out of, rather than just lots of
- 55:03historical stuff that patches together, you know, which is
- 55:06kind of what it is now. Yeah, I mean, if there are
- 55:09humans on the other continents, that's what I mean.
- 55:11I'm adamant in my keep keep because mere human free thing.
- 55:15But with mythos, I'll allow it. Maybe that might be the thing,
- 55:22Rich. Yeah, that's where you get all
- 55:23these. You know, maybe Sir Benigar is
- 55:26actually a fish. Maybe that's.
- 55:31Nobody's given him a blood test or DNA test.
- 55:34Yeah, the bonus head is just to throw people off.
- 55:36It's actually just the mannequin head.
- 55:37Yeah, yeah. What?
- 55:39What if it's a lizard underneath that head?
- 55:41Rich, you never know. I'd be very happy.
- 55:44Like Cobra Commander, you know? Yeah.
- 55:47Or V Australians. The land, the land of V, isn't
- 55:49it? It's.
- 55:50Just like for example, yeah. I love it.
- 55:55So anything more in this part or do we want to click on to move
- 56:00on the next bit? Yeah.
- 56:03Talk about Mythos's biggest turncoat.
- 56:08Yeah, Arzak, right? Arzak Once a young wizard rising
- 56:17through the ranks of the Convocation of Basilia, Arzak is
- 56:20as devious and as cruel source for a bent on promulgating the
- 56:26word of Poxus. Unsatisfied with the ancient
- 56:29approved texts of Egbendor that his fellow acolytes were
- 56:32studying, Arzacus constantly thirsting for more more
- 56:36knowledge, more spells, and more power.
- 56:40His pursuits led him away from the Kingdom of Ophidian and the
- 56:43Tower of Basilia and into the chaos of the Nethergate, where
- 56:47he gathered the members of the Circle of Poxus.
- 56:50When one convening was all that it took for Arzak to find his
- 56:54new home amongst like minded sorcerers searching for insight
- 56:58into the sinister power so. Yeah.
- 57:04So he is definitely out for himself, no?
- 57:08Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 57:12Oh, as do. Oh, is he is he like maybe sort
- 57:15of immortal and he's been around since, you know, he's been
- 57:19around since before a Resius went into high because it sounds
- 57:23like the pillars went into hibernation almost doesn't it,
- 57:26for whatever reason. But it sounds like their
- 57:29teachings and their the cults have been in the background and
- 57:34even made it to mythos it whilst everything's been going on.
- 57:38So is he immortal? Maybe and and he's he was
- 57:42finding ways to bring a Resius back, perhaps or.
- 57:48That'd be, I mean, who do you meet through the Nether gate?
- 57:51I mean, I guess you could meet beings from different time
- 57:54periods as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah, potentially.
- 57:58We all assume demons, but there's other things in there as
- 58:01well. I think that's a good point.
- 58:03Now about him, you know, living for so long, I mean, you would
- 58:06get bored just kind of flogging the same kind of belief system
- 58:12that maybe over time you would move along, move away, you know,
- 58:19did you imagine supporting the same football team for 1000
- 58:23years? Well, I do.
- 58:26I do feel like the what the bio we're reading there is what he's
- 58:29doing now and being part of the sector.
- 58:34Orezius is an older thing that's happened, or or perhaps as the
- 58:39five Pillars. Yeah, he moves over.
- 58:42I don't know. Maybe he'll get a little
- 58:43addendum to his bio. Maybe in the next week.
- 58:47Maybe we'll get an updated Arzak figure in the future.
- 58:53Wave like a version 2 What they do?
- 58:56Within the younger. Version, Yeah.
- 59:00Yeah. Well, I mean, it's very hard to
- 59:04tell. I mean, he does, OK.
- 59:06He does have the bags around the eyes there.
- 59:08But I mean, it's very hard to tell.
- 59:10He's definitely older, but yeah, that these type of ways are.
- 59:14Sending to be older. Yeah, that's true.
- 59:17Yeah, it could be. Like that thing in Game of
- 59:19Thrones that they never went anywhere with, where the the
- 59:21Grand Meister was clearly a lot more sprightly than he appeared.
- 59:24Yes, that's right. Yeah.
- 59:28And maybe that's what's delaying that last book and or is it even
- 59:34the last book he's on or is. No, I think there's two left,
- 59:36isn't there? I think.
- 59:38Come on man. Yeah, I read like I did read the
- 59:42first couple as well after I started watching it, but then I
- 59:47decided not to continue reading them until he'd finished it
- 59:51because that was like what, 8 years ago?
- 59:53I thought by now I'd have I'd have got to read them, but still
- 59:58gone anyway. So yeah, I remember people.
- 1:00:03There's been a couple of people we've had as guests on the show
- 1:00:05where we talk about favorite characters and stuff like that,
- 1:00:08and a lot of people like the ones that switch sides or switch
- 1:00:13factions. It seems to be a very
- 1:00:15interesting character trope, and of course, it does give more
- 1:00:22intrigue and more interesting storylines for a particular
- 1:00:25character when they do that. So yeah, Arzak is now one of
- 1:00:29those, and he's a cool figure. I mean, Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:32I really, I think of those Proxus Wizards, he's the
- 1:00:37coolest. I mean, Zende is cool.
- 1:00:40He's a 1.0, but he's this kind of archetypal evil wizard, you
- 1:00:48know, perfect mythic, mythic version of it.
- 1:00:51Yeah. Sickly without screaming head
- 1:00:53sculpt as well. We can do all sorts of cool
- 1:00:55poses with that. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:00:58Yeah, Aria, the talent vendor. So this is 1.
- 1:01:04I definitely need a reminder on bio wise.
- 1:01:10Aria, the Talon Bearer I keep losing.
- 1:01:17Sorry, I'm losing my active. During the First Age of Mythos,
- 1:01:21the Order of the Five Pillars was a cult whose belief were
- 1:01:24considered deeply heretical, daring to question the story of
- 1:01:28the realm's creation. These cultists worshipped
- 1:01:31ancient creatures of immense proportions who they believe had
- 1:01:34existed in mythos for untold ages.
- 1:01:37Members of these cults and the familias that manifested an
- 1:01:41extension of their faith were driven from the Kingdom.
- 1:01:44Shortly after the First Great War, a scholar who initially
- 1:01:48fought beside Basilia, Arya, the Talam Bearer, broke from the
- 1:01:53convocation to found the Sector Erasius, where she chronicled
- 1:01:57the evidence that formed the basis of the cultist's beliefs.
- 1:02:01Whilst those writings were all destroyed, evidence suggests
- 1:02:05that they were actually saved by members of a Fidian and remain
- 1:02:09hidden within the vaults of the kingdom's Great Library.
- 1:02:14OK. So another turncoat.
- 1:02:16Yeah. Yeah, another curt turncoat, So.
- 1:02:21Also, as I say, some questions answered there about the
- 1:02:24timelines and where these cults fit in then.
- 1:02:28So the Dragons were before the age of the great beasts.
- 1:02:31However, the cults and that heard tell of these great beasts
- 1:02:36that existed before times. So kind of like dinosaurs I
- 1:02:41guess. And yeah, so rich, that kind of
- 1:02:47answers your. It does, yeah.
- 1:02:49Be somewhat a little bit. Do the people on the other
- 1:02:56islands actually believe in Saline and Helios?
- 1:03:00But you know, didn't know that mythos existed and vice versa.
- 1:03:06Oh. Yes, and it says, doesn't it,
- 1:03:07about the mean? Yeah, about the mean driven away
- 1:03:10so that, you know, nicely populates humans elsewhere.
- 1:03:15Yeah, I like that. Yeah, but that's, this is
- 1:03:19interesting where, you know, we'd say the part of mythos we
- 1:03:23know is not aware of the other parts of mythos and they're not
- 1:03:27aware of it as such. And of course they have
- 1:03:30different, different belief systems.
- 1:03:32You know what you might call a religious or whatever, you know,
- 1:03:35if you know, that could be a type of a.
- 1:03:37So they are going to almost have conflicting histories or beliefs
- 1:03:43about how things came about and how things work.
- 1:03:47So I guess that that gives him lots of scope to go in different
- 1:03:51directions for for these type of characters.
- 1:03:58I've got to say as well, the further we get away from the
- 1:04:01fact that she was part of the wave she was part of, she's such
- 1:04:05a cool looking figure. She kind of got shadowed by
- 1:04:08everything else in that wave, didn't she at the time.
- 1:04:11But she's very cool. Yeah, she's one.
- 1:04:15You're glad he got an all in and she'll be in it and it'll be one
- 1:04:21of those that'll be taken outgoing.
- 1:04:23Oh, cool. Yeah.
- 1:04:25You know, I might devoted her if I could only get two or three.
- 1:04:29But I'm so glad that I was able to get the wave.
- 1:04:31And then you have her. Yeah.
- 1:04:38So she's the. She's the founder of the sect,
- 1:04:42so obviously pretty powerful character.
- 1:04:46Probably going to be a lot more story around her in the future.
- 1:04:50Do we think she's still alive? Because it talks about her
- 1:04:55founding everything at the start, doesn't it?
- 1:04:57So is she long gone? Oh, interesting.
- 1:05:00But again, you see a bit like Arzak, who I get the feeling has
- 1:05:05been around a lot longer than it's, you know, I think he could
- 1:05:10easily have been around the same sort of time as her.
- 1:05:13So how old is she under that mask?
- 1:05:17This is true big. Craggy head like where is Zach?
- 1:05:23So is this going to be like, you know, the Mandalorian ship
- 1:05:26situation with Tasro pulse? You know where they destroy it
- 1:05:29in the series and it's dead and then you and then you get the,
- 1:05:34you get the $500 ship delivered to your house two years later, I
- 1:05:39mean. We're getting skeletons,
- 1:05:41strictly speaking. But they're perfect because
- 1:05:47they're, they can be then undead, you know?
- 1:05:49But yeah. She's she's great.
- 1:05:55Something a. Little Dragon.
- 1:05:58Because you guys called her Aria a couple of times and I was
- 1:06:01like, Sheila's rare. So I went on to the the
- 1:06:05pronunciation list on the website and she's not there yet.
- 1:06:09Annoyingly, however, Arizac is, and according to them it's
- 1:06:13Arizac. Even though it's with an A, it's
- 1:06:17pronounced Arizac. OK, so she might.
- 1:06:21Let's restart this episode. But according to this, Arathea
- 1:06:26is also Erethea as well. They're wrong, aren't they?
- 1:06:30Let's put it OK. Yeah, I don't.
- 1:06:33Want to put her husband writing Writing with Rich's wrong
- 1:06:37reading of the pronunciations? Yes, even though it starts ER,
- 1:06:41it's actually pronounced a hang on.
- 1:06:49Error there. Yeah, maybe that's maybe that is
- 1:06:52how it is. It could be at just our accents
- 1:06:57emphasize the E part of it more than the American accent maybe
- 1:07:03yeah. So this this stuff in the in in
- 1:07:06the vaults, the great library, Is that the stuff the tray is
- 1:07:10looking through now? I wouldn't be surprised, yes.
- 1:07:16Not deliberately, but just try and see what you can find.
- 1:07:18Isn't he any? Yeah, he's just trying to Oh my
- 1:07:20God. Yeah.
- 1:07:22Which is is probably where and and this is where the is she
- 1:07:26still alive thing could come in because maybe we're hearing
- 1:07:29about her through him reading about the history stuff within
- 1:07:34these vaults rather than this her being, you know, a factor in
- 1:07:39the current timeline. Or she's trapped in a book.
- 1:07:44So not like, not like a really tall book, but her accents.
- 1:07:47Whoever is trapped in a book, he opens it, she comes back.
- 1:07:52This is This is the plot line. This is the plot line from Harry
- 1:07:55Potter. I've not seen any of the Harry
- 1:07:57Potter. Stuff.
- 1:07:58So it's one of the horror Brooks was early on in the film.
- 1:08:01The door is not a huge spoiler. So, yeah, though, but you make a
- 1:08:07good point there, because that could mean we might see her in
- 1:08:10if we get an equivalent of an ashes of egg bend OR wave this
- 1:08:13year, which would be quite cool for them to carry that after the
- 1:08:18initial, oh, this is what they're doing now.
- 1:08:19It would actually be quite cool to carry that on.
- 1:08:24We might see more of you know, you know, the cults via those
- 1:08:31stories. So earlier that I.
- 1:08:34Or even heard just popping up in different BIOS.
- 1:08:37Yeah, would be interesting reference to it.
- 1:08:39Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
- 1:08:41She was involved. So that that wave is pushed back
- 1:08:44a little bit. It was supposed to come within
- 1:08:46the 12 months. I mean, they had hoped to, shall
- 1:08:49we say. And now it's AQ 3.
- 1:08:51So it's not hugely back in the queue, but maybe a little bit
- 1:08:56later than we expected, but I think still within 18 months is,
- 1:09:00is probably all right. Yeah.
- 1:09:02There's a lot of yeah, I mean, the factory are cranking through
- 1:09:05it now, aren't they? Yeah, we got 2 cosmic waves
- 1:09:07coming up now. So now we're going to, you're
- 1:09:10going to have to, we're going to have to whip out the cosmic lore
- 1:09:13at some point when these waves start coming.
- 1:09:16Yeah, soon, soon, soon, soon. And.
- 1:09:20Right. We need the comic to come out,
- 1:09:22guys. Jeremy.
- 1:09:23Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, we should get Joe
- 1:09:27Sutra on to see. Maybe we should grill him about
- 1:09:29it. Ray Gore, then finally all.
- 1:09:35Right, I will say before I start, one of my favorite
- 1:09:38characters in the line. Yeah, Ray figure I picked up
- 1:09:42last year. Yeah.
- 1:09:43Courtesy of Mr. Jones. And say, having sold three of
- 1:09:46them in the past, I do like him, but not enough to keep him.
- 1:09:50He would like him for the money. Well, I spent, yeah, I spent
- 1:09:55some more fortune on him to get him because I like him so much,
- 1:09:59right Ragor? From all across the world,
- 1:10:03warriors were gathered either voluntarily or sometimes by
- 1:10:06force to test their mettle within the walls of the
- 1:10:09Mercurian Colosseum. One such combatant arrived from
- 1:10:13far away with the knowledge of battle never before seen in the
- 1:10:17lands of Mythos. His speed, precision and hand to
- 1:10:21hang combat techniques were unmatched, and his enemies were
- 1:10:25quickly dispatched with ferocious flurry of fists and
- 1:10:28feet. Whether is with his hands alone,
- 1:10:32with any weapon he was supplied, Regor instilled the fear of the
- 1:10:36power of his namesake, the dragon, into its opponents.
- 1:10:43There you go. So land far away could
- 1:10:47definitely be a reference to him coming from somewhere that's not
- 1:10:53within the shores of the mythos we know.
- 1:10:57So yeah, I think this bio obviously was written a long
- 1:11:03time ago, so. Probably a bit of Brett Connie
- 1:11:06needed with that one. Possibly, but I, I, yeah.
- 1:11:09So I'm sure they had kind of an outline of the whole story.
- 1:11:14It's, you know, maybe not within detail.
- 1:11:17So I think they and they've. Already said, aren't they that
- 1:11:20Zende came from outside of Mythos?
- 1:11:22So, you know, there's examples already.
- 1:11:25So they can fitness in his Luna, yeah.
- 1:11:26I just meant more that his name is the dragon Ragor.
- 1:11:30He's a dragon. So which is I know he's a
- 1:11:33reference more to a figure that he's a tribute to someone that
- 1:11:38now there are Dragons with names.
- 1:11:43Yeah, so maybe one of the Dragons will be called Ragor as
- 1:11:47well. And.
- 1:11:48That'd be. Pretty bad.
- 1:11:50That would be pretty cool. What colour?
- 1:11:53I suppose red. The red dragon maybe?
- 1:11:58Yeah. So nice for Ragor to have a
- 1:12:00home. He was previously in the House
- 1:12:02of the Noble Bear. So.
- 1:12:06Nice room to get out of that. Slightly sad to see him go, but
- 1:12:12the Sector Erasius is shaping up to be a cool faction so.
- 1:12:21Sure is. Yeah, it's.
- 1:12:22Got some great figures in it so far hasn't it?
- 1:12:25Yeah, and I'm sure more to come. So there we go.
- 1:12:31I'm excited anyway for the next mythic wave, whatever it may be,
- 1:12:35even just to see what it is. Hopefully no more centaurs.
- 1:12:40Yeah, I, I, I'm still different to you guys.
- 1:12:43I don't think we'll get immediate wave.
- 1:12:45I think we'll change the next big one.
- 1:12:47I think we'll have legacies and possibly an extra figure,
- 1:12:49obscure etcetera. I.
- 1:12:51Think you could be but. I I don't think we're going to
- 1:12:53get another wave, or if we do, it'll be tiny.
- 1:12:56And that point is like, is it worth it?
- 1:12:59Well, you know, they they didn't extend the dragon because they
- 1:13:02said that they had a very well put together timeline.
- 1:13:05So, you know, they did a reveal of Dish Con last year and we
- 1:13:11said that's in May this year. And they dropped the figure
- 1:13:19obscure earlier because that would have been, if they did the
- 1:13:23figure obscure, it would have been this.
- 1:13:27Yeah, maybe there's something been announced at Ishkhan that
- 1:13:31we don't know about yet. But there would be lots of, you
- 1:13:34know, there will be enough Mythics fans at Ishkhan to have
- 1:13:38a, you know, a live stream like they did the last time and all
- 1:13:41that. So, yeah, sounds good.
- 1:13:44And we'd see they have lots of people working for them now.
- 1:13:48Eric Miller does a lot of painting of them.
- 1:13:50He's doing projects for them. So goodness knows what Eric is
- 1:13:54painting right now that we will see in the future, for example.
- 1:13:59Yeah. So it's all happening.
- 1:14:02The dragon was successful. So that gives them scope as well
- 1:14:05to, you know, do more stuff not to put the brakes on or, you
- 1:14:10know, economy is going down the tank.
- 1:14:14So that's maybe not great, but we'll have to see how that pans
- 1:14:18out. You know, maybe people will take
- 1:14:20less holidays but still buy stuff, you know, could go like
- 1:14:24that. Exactly.
- 1:14:26What do you think? Yeah, although the the dollar
- 1:14:31exchange rate for us has improved for sure we.
- 1:14:37Just yeah, quite a bit. Yeah, we could.
- 1:14:40We can definitely suck up some of the tariffs on our side just
- 1:14:46through the currency. And yeah, so that's the crack
- 1:14:50anyway. Anything more guys?
- 1:14:54Nothing from me. No, no, no, nothing from me.
- 1:14:57What are we going to do next week?
- 1:14:59Who knows? You gonna ask us the part of the
- 1:15:01excitement we keep ourselves guessing, never mind the
- 1:15:04listeners. Sounds good, I'm looking forward
- 1:15:09to it anyway.
