- Lucas: Ciao Luna, bentornata! Ready for another bite of Italian? Luna: Ciao Lucas! Always. You know, I've been thinking about that episode where we learned body parts for pain at the doctor. Lucas: Oh right, Episode 36! That was useful. But today we're going to do something lighter — just the basic body parts, no pain involved. Luna: Perfect! I want to be able to say 'my head' or 'my hands' without needing a doctor. Lucas: Exactly. And since we already know 'mio' and 'mia' from a previous episode, you can combine them right away. Luna: Oh good, I remember those! Mio and mia. Lucas: So let's start with the head. In Italian, 'head' is 'la testa'. Say it with me: la testa. Luna: La testa. That's pretty straightforward. Lucas: Yes! Now, if you want to say 'my head', you say 'la mia testa'. Try it. Luna: La mia testa. La mia testa. Lucas: Perfect. Let's move to 'hand'. Hand is 'la mano'. Luna: La mano. That sounds feminine, right? Lucas: Exactly, even though it ends in -o. So 'my hand' is 'la mia mano'. Repeat that. Luna: La mia mano. Lucas: Great. Now 'foot' is 'il piede'. Masculine, so 'my foot' is 'il mio piede'. Luna: Il mio piede. That's cute. Lucas: Now let's do 'nose'. 'Nose' is 'il naso'. Luna: Il naso. That's easy. Lucas: And 'eyes' is 'gli occhi'. That's masculine plural. So 'my eyes' is 'i miei occhi'. Luna: Ooh, plural. I miei occhi. So 'miei' is the plural of 'mio'? Lucas: Exactly! You remembered. Luna: I've been practicing. Okay, let me try all of them quickly: la testa, la mano, il piede, il naso, gli occhi. Lucas: Wow, that was perfect. Let me test you with a little dialogue. If I say 'Ho mal di testa', what does that mean? Luna: That's 'I have a headache' from Episode 36! So 'mal di testa'. Lucas: Right. Now let's practice a mini scene. Imagine you're at the doctor and you say: 'Mi fa male la testa.' Try it. Luna: Mi fa male la testa. Oh, that's useful. Lucas: And if your foot hurts: 'Mi fa male il piede.' Say it. Luna: Mi fa male il piede. Good. Lucas: Now for a fun one: 'I have big eyes' would be 'Ho gli occhi grandi'. But we haven't learned 'big' yet. How about just 'I have blue eyes'? That's 'Ho gli occhi azzurri'. Luna: Ho gli occhi azzurri. That's lovely. But I don't have blue eyes. Lucas: That's okay, you can say 'Ho gli occhi marroni' for brown eyes. Marroni. Luna: Marroni. Ho gli occhi marroni. That's me. Lucas: Let's do a quick recap. Repeat after me: la testa, la mano, il piede, il naso, gli occhi. Luna: La testa, la mano, il piede, il naso, gli occhi. Lucas: Now with possessive: la mia testa, la mia mano, il mio piede, il mio naso, i miei occhi. Luna: La mia testa, la mia mano, il mio piede, il mio naso, i miei occhi. I got it! Lucas: Awesome. Now for a little challenge: how would you say 'My hands are cold'? We learned 'freddo' in Episode 38. Luna: Umm... Le mie mani sono fredde? Because 'mani' is feminine plural, so 'le mie'. Lucas: Perfect! You're using the plural possessive correctly. Le mie mani sono fredde. Great job. Luna: Thanks, Lucas! That felt good. Lucas: So today we learned five body parts: testa, mano, piede, naso, occhi. Practice them with 'mio' and 'mia'. You can say 'la mia testa' or 'il mio naso'. And if something hurts, remember 'mi fa male' plus the body part. Luna: Mi fa male la testa... I hope not! But I'll practice anyway. Lucas: That's the spirit! And remember, you can learn more with Fexingo's other episodes. Keep listening, and soon you'll be describing everything in Italian. Luna: Grazie, Lucas! See you next time. Lucas: Ciao ciao! Practice those body parts, and we'll see you in the next episode.
