  months ago, several months ago, and she was like, no, we

  would announce it if we had anything last And now they're announcing it. Yeah.

  So we'll get into each one of their announcements because they're worded very differently

  from each other. Okay, So Olivia's is kind of long and annoying.

  She says. Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways. I

  have ambivalent memories of us being eighteen years old, innocently dreaming of forever.

  But the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live

  in. And at eighteen I didn't know who I was or what kind of

  life I wanted to create for myself. Seven years later, I've already begun

  my journey of questioning, deconstructing, and rebuilding, and I know that is

  does mean that they've made up and that they're connected. I hope so too,

  because I think Micah is a great influence on Ethan and vice versa.

  But then I think somebody wrote in and asked whether Ethan had cheated on Olivia,

  because I guess there are rumors that he did, and Micah said,

  m actually, if that were going to happen, it would have been the

  other way around, or something to that effect, implying that not necessarily that

  Olivia had an affair, but that if one of them was going to have

  an affair, it was going to be Olivia. Oh, because she's a

  She's a selfish asshole. So I thought that was interesting. He was trying

  to be very careful. He talked a little bit about Ken Palmer and Kim,

  and he did doesn't necessarily feel good about it, and he doesn't know

  how to feel. His worried about his dad, and I think Kim is

  getting some grief from her kids. I hope so. Certainly it's starting in

  this season, but I think it's continuing. I don't think they're happy with

  their choices, and why should they be happy with their choices. She's such

  a she really can't take it with this lady. She's the worst. Uh.

  She only cares about getting her box eight and she doesn't care about her

  moving on, Let's get into the episode. All right. We actually had

  the opportunity to watch this together. Yes, really great, so we are

  reviewing it right after we watch it fresh. This again is season five,

  episode eleven of Welcome to the Platform, entitled so Foul and Fair a day

  blah blah blah, God but blah blah blah blah blah. Okay, I

  don't understand what that has to do with anything that we're watching, but whatever,

  whatever. So we start off this episode in Victoria, Minnesota, with

  Ethan and Olivia going ice fishing. Yeah, and Ethan's kind of talking about
• 11:15
  how dates are good and dates are important, but that they're not necessarily going
• 11:20
  to do much to in terms of the healing of their relationship. But I
• 11:24
  guess it's fun so we're gonna go ice fishing. I mean, it seems
• 11:28
  like he's trying, like maybe this was Olivia's idea, who knows, to
• 11:31
  try and get some happy moments. I bet they're fighting a lot. I
• 11:35
  think they're fighting a lot for sure. And she even says that she needs
• 11:39
  time to step away from the hard conversations and from the work of this relationship
• 11:46
  and do something that's intentionally fun. Otherwise that's all she does is sit there
• 11:50
  and bitch at poor Ethan. No wonder he's checking out and going to his
• 11:54
  happy place in the fourth dimension. Yeah, for real, it doesn't have

  to be here listening to her gas on over and over about how toxic his

  family is. But that, to her is work in a marriage. And

  But I think to her, she thinks she's trying so hard in this

  the camera every single time, And I'm actually a little worried for Ethan when

  the camera turns off, Like what kind of life is he living in that

  cold Minnesota apartment with Olivia with her stankas face, And every time she's on

  camera it is an opportunity to bring up the Plaths every freaking time, how

  she's no longer getting along with them, and how they've been attacking them,

  and how they keep interjecting themselves into their relationship. Well, it doesn't really

  seem that way. It seems like you guys moved away. You made sure

  to isolate Ethan from his family. He hasn't talked to them for months,

  and you're still bitching about it. So it didn't fix the problem. So

  yeah, Ethan's getting disillusioned. Of course, yet you want to go down
• 13:07
  to Caro with him right to see the little kids because you're fine with them.
• 13:11
  We have to talk about this. So as they are ice fishing,
• 13:16
  he brings up wanting to go down to Caro to pick up one of his
• 13:20
  vehicles. He has three vehicles there. He wants to bring him back to
• 13:22
  Minnesota so he can work on them, because that's his passion. Of course,
• 13:26
  and his pleasure, and she's like, well, I want to go
• 13:28
  with you, and if I go with you, maybe we'll be able to
• 13:31
  see the three littles, Mercy, Amber and Cassia. And Ethan's like,
• 13:37
  hmm, I don't really know if that's the right decision, because you know,
• 13:41
  there's drama and I can just go and come back and maybe next time
• 13:48
  you can come. But she's pretty forcefully trying to insert herself into his road
• 13:52
  trip, and he says, no, I think it'd be great what if
• 13:54
  we could see the kids? And I'm wondering to myself, SLF, why

  does this bitch even want to see these right? Well, because they're little

  and they're impressionable. No, but she hasn't had any contact with any of

  the family by her design, by her design, for I guess years at

  this point, and now all of a sudden she wants to see the littles.

  To me, it's like, you're just looking for opportunities to recavoc in

  this family. Yeah, well, I mean she was trying to have a

  little bit of a relationship with them in season four though, right, Like,

  wasn't she seeing them? I guess? But like that's it, that's

  all she cares about. She does run up to be here and they would

  hug her and that was sweet, But like, how do you get around

  that? Like, so you want to go see the kids, the little

  kids, but in order for you to do that and for you to feel

  safe to do that, Barry can't be around Micah, and Mariah can't be

  around Kim can't be around, so it's just the little kids. So again,

  you're isolating Ethan from seeing the rest of his family. But you're also
• 14:52
  going to make Ethan co ordinate that and talk to his father, Barry and
• 14:58
  say, like, we would like to have access to your little kids so
• 15:01
  that we can come in. And Barry's immediately going to do what he's always
• 15:03
  done and think, well, Olivia's going to come in and start to be
• 15:05
  negative and start to influence my kids in the wrong way. And I'm sorry,
• 15:09
  but Barry has a point, Yes, why would he want that?
• 15:11
  But Ethan's gonna have to be the middle man, and he's just like,
• 15:15
  can I just go to Georgia for real? Get my fucking car. It'd

  be so much easy back, that would be so awesome if you could just

  let me have this and maybe I'll see my family. Yeah, maybe I

  can make some inroads to have some talks again with some of these people,

  start repairing this relationship. He's not going to do a lot of heavy lifting

  because it's Ethan plaf of course. He just wants to make the barest of

  connections again. And she's like, yeah, no, I want to go.

  Yeah, I want to go. And so it's going to make it

  harder for you to reconcile with the rest of your family, like it's all

  by design. And then we get too later, which we'll talk about later.

  She's going to be mad about it if he wants to go by himself.

  after that sake met, we head on over to Thomasville, Georgia with Kim,

  enterrs sit down and then Mariah soon joins them, and she kind of launches

  right into the conversation, telling her daughters that she's dating the handsome and charming
