Transcript
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, this is a low-red Zendross show with me Simon Clancy, and as always, my special guest, our Krabs of A to Zsport, how are you, my friend?
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great, get to be back in the saddle, and it's the month of April, and we're rolling along.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: We're less than three weeks away.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll get straight into position groups in a second.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: But there was a big pro day this week, can't jamad McCoy, around a 43, 740, 38 inch vertical, 10, 7 broad jump hasn't done anything athletically that we've seen in over a year in 50 months, pretty much.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: Where had you feel about the workout?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Tick a lot of boxes, what's your take on the McCoy workout for 10 to see this week?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the numbers are exactly what you would want them to be for a guy who kind of held out until the buzzer to get his work out in and with the time away on task.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's a really talented player.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: You go back.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: You watch the 24 tape and all the skills are super evident there for him and then the testing out being confirmed on how explosive he is and what is his is athletic profile looks like on the heels of what was a long-term injury.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: He'd just be one that would be hard for me if I was a team early in the draft, but you're looking for disqualifiers.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: And while there's other players that are in that first and second bucket, your top 10 grades and your first round grades,
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have a hard time seeing him winning tie breakers against other players in that bucket just because of the risk and then, you know, just all of this past year, the medical question is still something of a medical question.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, maybe he sees all the doctors and they, they rubber stamp it and we're good to go, right?
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: just for me on the outside looking in, if all things are equal, he's going to have a hard time winning ties against similarly graded players because of the journey that he's been on, but it's nice to see that we came all the way back and we've done what we needed to do to showcase that we're still the explosive athlete we were in 24.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it will get to the corner group in a minute, actually, as in the round, but it's interesting because delaying is kind of the guy, it seems, and then obviously the question marks about McCoy, but then we had the avion to real situation this week with him and his workout and pulling his hamstring and not being able to work out having not been able to run on the combine.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: which then float some more questions and then you've got the kind of the two guys in hood and C. Say, but both obviously very young and feels like there's a bit of confusion maybe around who and where the next handful is for the for the next pure corner.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, this class in general is, and it's deep too.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think that helps because you kind of have like these question marks or young guys or medical flags with everything beyond the lane.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty comfortable with both Colton hood and brain and CSA, especially if you get them in the right kind of scheme that's tailored to where I think their strengths are as players.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: But you
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: How many corners do I have here in top 100?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, my corners.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: I got 17 top on her corners, right?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if I'm picking in the first round, it's the Jermama Coithing, but now on a larger scale for this entire first and second tier of corners in this year's classes, it's like, I'm gonna feel really good unless I don't pick again until the fourth round, yeah.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: That there's gonna be somebody that I'm comfortable with trying to move forward with and develop, even if they're sealing in floor isn't necessarily equal to what some of these the guys are that are in this early conversation.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we, and we kicked off our prospect kind of groupings in terms of positions.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: Last time out with with Court of Acts running back, I was going to keep an order, but actually given that we're on cornerbacks, we may as well stay.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: In this field where are you then in terms of your top five, where did you land in terms of your order?
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: I know you've finished your top 50 this week.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: What's your cornerbacks stacking in terms of how you're looking at it?
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the way that I have them stacked and I don't do any adjustments for medical or off-field or anything like that is just strictly off of the profile on tape and how translatable their skill sets are usually guys that are not individual scheme specific grade more favorably.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think so the guys that you're going to hear at the top, I think ultimately have a little bit more flexibility to play in different kinds of schemes and different kinds of approaches and philosophies to how you do coverage.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: CB-1 for me.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I do a Brandon C. Say South Carolina as my CB-2, just in front of Jermon McCoy, Tennessee as CB-3, and then I have Avion Terrell and Colton Hood to round out the top five and both Terrell and Hood have late one slash early two grades for me.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: interesting.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: We've got slightly different.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I've got delaying as well, and I've got my coyote too.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: I've got food at three.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: I've got seasat four, and then Chris Johnson at five.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm slightly different to you in the the injury stuff plays in a little bit, because I love Devon Moore, a Florida, but obviously there's some significant historical injury stuff there.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: In a Jordan Tyson, he type way in terms of end disease and stuff, end disease and stuff, you know, and we just look at the way he moves and the fluidity and, you know, if the injury's weren't there, you're like, this kid's just, just moves differently, but I think weighing that in, that's kind of where I, where I finish.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm intrigued by who I think he's really interesting, interesting player.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: And Johnson's not a guy that people talk about.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: What's your take on, where do you end up with the guy like Chris Johnson in terms of invisibility?
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I have a firm too, so I like him.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's 55th on my board overall.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: So just outside the top 50 for me as far as players was phenomenal this past season.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think that it was really reliable, but you do look at the level of competition and acknowledge, and maybe some growing pains there.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's really sturdy.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know, like I look at some of the other guys and delaying with the coverage instincts and some of the ball skills.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: And C.C.A.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: with how physical I think that he is and McCoy with some of the twitchiness with his size and torel with the transitional quickness that he has
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't have that singular trait for Chris that I felt like really jumped down.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, here's his hallmark physical ability.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's just a really sturdy, high football IQ player that just so happened to play at San Diego State.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe you got a little bit more in the way.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: No, I just, I like the way I played Rana, I just thought he's one of the better run group ending corners and I suppose I hold over a bit from his special teams.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Staff, he's a really good gunner.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: Um,
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, yeah, I mean, I think what you say, I think he's, I think he's pretty savvy.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Carl, I like the savvyness and the sort of, you know, how he works as a technician.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: I just think technically that's, that's really intriguing to me.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, the ability to come in from day one and be a significant contributor on specialties, not just to be thrown out.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was back with teens and mid to you know having had 19 special teams snaps in five years I got you know this is a kid just you know a thousand snaps pretty much on special teams is like okay Even if things don't go well at corner you're gonna get a significant dribbler while he builds his way into the Into the lineup what what about your um what about a kind of sleep a guy because it is a deep plastic corner where did you end up on on with a sleeper?
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I I really like Jaden Kennedy from Oregon.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's one that stands out to me.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then I I was really surprised to find out that has a guy in masses was 179 because he made he plays.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Some scrappy football like he is in your face and I really like the way that he plays at six foot one he's got some length 179 is kind of punching up above your weight class a little bit with the style of play so maybe he's
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: cap the little bit in that regard when you projected to the NFL, but I thought mass has had a great year this past year.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then it Ephesians Priceok from Washington is another big, but no questions about the size on this guy at 6338 and 196.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the heaviest corner.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Second heaviest corner that I have in my top 100.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: So he's.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's got length.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's got size.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: So those guys are guys that you typically see in the mock drafts going like in the simulators and like they three middle of day three.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you told me price.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: And masses were both top 125 players like pushing for day two, maybe day two, but early on day three, like I think that's the right spot for for those guys.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, how did anybody complete passes against Washington with Christchurch on one side of 603, 3196 and then to Cario Davis and the other side of Super 37 on 94.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's funny.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked about this beforehand in terms of matching up and marrying our payguards.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: I also picked as a KMS.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I saw him last year and I thought he was a, you know, a really
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: a really good player, some FIU, obviously no Williams at Cal last year in terms of the scheme and you know, how are you parlayed?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: Next one, how do you have Cal into what he did with the cheese being a third rounder?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was similarly shocked at the weight because he just doesn't look or play like that guy, he's long and lean, he's sticky, I think you've hit some pretty clean, he can mirror a match, he's tough as well.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: For a guy that's like one something you know, you're like, where's this toughness coming from?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: I also thought it was interesting that you mentioned one of the kind of the nickel guys in terms of because I think it's a really good nickel group, you know, if you look at rail probably we'll play inside, but Ponds who ran the great 40 this week and you know we know that the season here I don't know he's tiny.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: trading stokes is a guy that's absolutely love and you know, is he going to play corners, he's going to play safety, where's he going to play, you know, 943 career snaps at corner, 503 is a safety 464, those in the box, paid a lot more safety last year, but the ball skills are outstanding for a guy like.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: for a guy like Stooch, obviously you mentioned Kennedy, Chandler, Rivers at Duke.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's a good player, Kion takes Scott, who's just, you know, I know Alpha's listening, is, you know, loves himself a bit of Miami, and then you go down to like guys like Sierra, right?
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: Nebraska, who I was really intrigued with as well.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's a really good overall, the depth I think in this corner class is really strong.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would agree that yeah, and it's like you said there's I've got a couple of guys that you mentioned I have in the safety bucket where you could even stack more like
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: but you you love the way that he plays around and that that's I'll give this group a lot of credit.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a lot of guys that have a great demeanor in run support.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the position in this year's class.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a nice breath of fresh air from some of these guys that
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: or maybe a little too passive or even either to kind of stick their nose in it.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't have a lot of guys that really jumped off the screen at me and it's like, man, he's a great cover guy, but I hope they don't run to his side because if it gets outside, it's going to be a train wreck.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: It was a nice, nice breath of fresh air for me.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like, it goes like, it's been ocean and, you know,
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he is a physical player, every, I know, and who he's not a corner.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: Have you speaking of guys that don't like to play the run?
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Have you seen, have you done a lot of Genesis Smith?
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: He is allergic to contacts.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: What a contrast between him and Stooks in the same second year.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I mean, there's a specific play and I can't I'm trying to think where it is.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to just try to find his bring up his uh, the thing that I've done for him.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I was uh, well, that's the game now.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's against Hawaii.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the near side hashes a screen.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: He diagnosed as it comes down here on 20 yards full.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: full-speed, and should absolutely level the guy.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: And he slows his feet, slows it up, and literally just like, I can't push his ear, but it's like, what are you doing?
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: Then there's a game against case day where every Johnson comes out of the pocket, it's crumbling.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: Again, he comes in like a lap, so it bissar.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: And they just run straight past him, go hand out, sort of touches him, and then just go straight past him.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: I've never seen a player less interested in physical contact than Genesis Smith.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I actually had to come back and do them again because I was like watching both those guys like simultaneously and I was like, I don't know if Stooks is just ruin my perspective right now.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: So let me just watch one and come back and finish another one.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Because I had that same experience of just oil and vinegar with
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely well.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: One other guy that we haven't mentioned, who I'm a really big fan of, I don't know where you ended up with him is as Julian Neil, of Arkansas, who I really liked, ran a 454, to me could be a safety convert potentially, but I just think he's efficient as a mover, maybe not explosive as a mover, but the games I watched him in, I just thought he looked really, really good, just a really solid
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: Guy who breaks down quickly, he's got short area movement.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: He can jump in the hip pocket.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: I was a big fan of his tape.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I, I wish maybe the conversions for turnovers were a little bit more consistent.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: We got we're over 32 and a half on the arm length.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: We're 203 as a corner.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: We hit what 90th percentile on both the vertin abroad for that linear explosiveness.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's fast enough with a fort now.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: If he gets if he's going to let guys run clean through the contact window and he's going to have to flip and carry.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's where he'll he'll get tested, but that's where the length comes in is so important for him.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a great profile guy for playing either kind of that cover three half turn all for he doesn't have to speed turn or open his hips and flip and carry guys in space or live at the line of scrimmage and let him really disrupt the timing of routes.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great example of what kind of I alluded to at the top, where you could tell me he ends up being a better player than a number of the players that I have ranked in front of him.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: I just think his pathway to success is more narrow.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why his grade comes in a little bit lower, but he's 95th on my...
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: I do have a third grade.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was interesting that Justin McCornus was sick.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was interesting.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: And this speaks to the dull things, the team that we both follow, but speaks to a wider...
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: issue about players and especially about corners that New Head Coach Jeff Haffley was asked about what he likes about corners and he talks very openly about that kind of three tier system in terms of what you're able to do at the line of Scrimmage in terms of your physicality, what you're able to do down the field and then that kind of middle section of Kenny Flipheets, Kenny Turner run all of those sorts of things and he's looking for guys, you know.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: the derail revises as he mentioned who got all three, but can I find a guy that's got two of those three things?
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: And then if I can find a guy that's got one, maybe we can work with that and obviously if I can't find a guy that's got any of those, then we're not gonna pick them, but I just thought it was interesting to see that that's how,
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: that a well-regarded defensive coordinator to turn head coach is thinking about corner play and what's specifically, because we don't often around this time when we get that kind of specificity of what specific teams, what specific coach they're looking for in individual positional prospects.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously that the guys that can do all three of those things to have at least point are scarce.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: So now you can at least start looking at a position room.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if you see commonalities between the traits that they share, you can kind of build an understanding of how they're going to build their coverages.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it really is interesting where kind of this too high evolution that we've seen.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody wants to live in too high all the time and they want to take the vertical pressure off.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: The trickled down effect is there's more stress and pressure on safety's and linebackers and there's almost less pressure on corners because of vertical support that exists so often.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, there's been a couple of teams in Green Bay was one of them.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: Last year, you looked at their their everybody rumors that dolphins corner back depth chart conversation in July last year, but you looked at what Green Bay had and it was on Nate Hobbes.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: They paid handsomely, but
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it was Kishan Nixon and Carrington.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Alan, I ain't in there.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's the corner room.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, I don't, I don't know.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: But they had a bunch of dudes at safety in the name.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's at high at linebacker.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: And they found guys that could do the one or two of the three of the things that Hathley's talking about, they helped build out their past defense.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's very interesting.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Right, let's look into what I just see.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: But then because that's where we're going to kick off with first.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you end up with your top five in this group?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: uh... messy it's a lot of a group that right yes i i actually feel bad just leaving it five okay i i i like it i have two definitive first round grades and again the disclaimer is there's no adjustment for medical question marks because i do have Jordan Tyson is the the top rate of wider seever a stop
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: 24 tapes hard for me to forget.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was really good.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what I draft Jordan Tyson before two guys that I have in the same bucket, if I put the context in my brain of, I have first wrong grades on at least guys, right?
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: And it's Carnal Tate and McCuy Lemon are the other two guys that I do have first wrong grades on.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: So it goes Tyson Tate Lemon.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm a team that's picking and I decide I want to win a wider seaver,
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: the medical tag that gets put on his card but doesn't reduce his grade is probably heavy enough for me to say I'll take the guy that I have a half point graded lower and feel better about the medical risk that comes with it.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: Does that make sense?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: I know that's like a draft room conversation, but I know for a lot of if you're a casual draft fan or you're not kind of in the weeds on how some of these draft conversations happen, it's just like, oh, well, who's the highest rank guy on your board just take that guy, right?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: But like, that's why I put him into the tears.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I could say, hey, this is what this guy has on film, but a laundry list of collar bones and all the C. L's in your knee and an eight month hamstring issue for me.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of hard to just blow over and overload.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I do have Jordan Tyson, one based on the film, but with a medical flag that would disqualify him from being the first receiver that I drafted out if I was picking the top 15.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: are not data how estate, Macaylam and USC.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have Omar Cooper in the end of in case you can say, don't text in it.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's interesting.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: Because I, for me, lemon is my number one guy.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: I've got lemon tape.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Concepts your Tyson, but factoring in the, the, um, medical, I mean, there are things with Tyson that,
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: I find so fascinating and actually I run a chaos talk to Alphabet this last night, but there are when he gets the ball in his hands He reminds me of a bigger Jamar Chase just in terms of what he does in terms of twirling around to make a play to turn up feel quickly to turn into a running back Reverse and feel those sorts of things just I'm not saying he is Jamar Chase for people going oh, he's not It's what he does when he gets the ball in his hands and how he just looks to become a runner the the releases the diamond releases the
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the sharp cuts for a guy that's six, two, two, or three, you know, it's really compelling stuff at times, like you say, the 24 tape is super compelling.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: The jumps, the heavy steps, and, you know, all of this stuff, I find fascinating.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's just hard to get away from, you know, back to back to back, see Alan, and you get your ears.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, an ACLM seal, PCL2, can happen to anyone, right?
- 20:44[SPEAKER_02]: The shoulder can happen to anyone.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: The hamstring is the thing that concerns me in the, like you just said, it's been an eight month deal, you know, that that's a problem and you know, I always worry about muscle injuries, car about how, you know, when you go into the NFL and the workload is heavier, those sorts of things don't generally get better, but look, we'll.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: busier plays out, but he's at, you know, to me he's a really good player.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: But I've got a great him down just because of the, because of the injuries.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love Levin.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: I just find his game is just so compelling.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so interesting in terms of what he does.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, look
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like, because we live in this kind of time now where, you know, good route runners players who understand coverage and leverage and have to get open consistently are almost more variable than ever before.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, high football IQ really matters.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: Would you split routes a distribute from all over, being able to recover edges, so how much zone and post snap changes and all of those things.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: the ability to block all of these things.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: I just think are more important those kind of size speed points that we often, you know, you go back and look at the guy, we get so fascinated with the 40 at the con mine.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: Go back and look at the guys for the fastest players at receiver in in con mine history.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: None of them are, you know, I mean, what did Jackson Smith and Jinguera
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, nobody's running in the four twos, you know, lemon ran out of four, four, six at the USC Pro Day.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: But all of those things I've just talked about in terms of the kind of the blocking, the route running.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: The ball in his hands turning into a running back, the kind of the dog mindset of a guy that never takes a rep off those of things I value in terms of walk.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I get that, you know, he's a hair under six foot and one nice too.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: He just doesn't look like it or play like it.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm a big fan.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: Where do you, you had concepts the own there?
- 22:41[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you end up with him in terms of his playstyle?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Because I find him as a really intriguing and compelling guy.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think when you foil the NC State usage, especially as a freshman to Texas A&M and kind of a different ways they found ways to get the ball into his hands.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a lot of meat on the bone there for somebody
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: functional quarterback play to maybe, I'm sorry, I got pulled my hair out.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: It took me a while to grow it back.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: I was I was a while and then I grew back and it was a great comeback story and then I almost lost the whole thing watching text in and out.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's here.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: Concepts you on I think is a better he's going to get type cast as a speed guy and I don't think that's fair because I I really good route running ability and I get there some inconsistencies as far as drops and being too eager to get his eyes up field and Convert into being that runner that you talked about and he's going to get type cast as a speed guy, but realistically he's
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: five one one five and one ninety six right he's not small place this isn't Xavier words because well I see you know I'm still a fake guy this isn't this is not you know even Jalen Wattell who went early you know is that that comparison and he's got 15 pounds and two inches on Jalen Wattell
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and I think the water at Alabama is a good comparison for what I think when I look at conceptual on versus what I think the mature version of him can be when he gets into the league where I think he can be.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: 110 target guy who runs really good routes and has the explosive element to his game.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: And when you first bring him in, maybe you're keen to let him do special team stuff and work returns while he's the less high volume player in your passing game.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's got a lot of room to grow.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: And that was that was for me, a big part of him getting up into that.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: late one early to buck it with with Omar Cooper.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now I acknowledge you want the production to be better.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's some stuff over the middle of the field that you wish he was a little bit more confident and just focusing on the ball in the middle of the field.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: I like him too, I think he's a really good player.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Coached obviously by Hullman Wiggins, who was Alabama's wide receiver coach between 2019 and 2023, who put Devontus Smith, Jamison Williams, Henry Ruggs, Jerry Judy, John Mechley, and of course Jalen Moodle.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the NFL, I think they're showing because you know some more of the manufactured touches that were there in the sea staring act I watched NC State take where he's taking the ball on sweeps out of the backyard, you know, it was a you know, it's very different to what he was doing I actually think the nuance of his route running is so and people just don't talk about it the way he temposes routes in terms of speed and timing and
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: You watch some of those one-on-one's against Mansour Delaying against LSU and there's a very specific route where he runs from the right slots and there's a kind of a crosser in front of him and he slows, he slows, he slows, and he slows Delaying into thinking that he's not really going and then he just explodes and Delaying is like three or four steps behind and obviously Marcel Rieske.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: The ball goes nowhere near him, but yeah, it's just, he's, he's not just a run down the field, nine routes, vertical plane, the whole time.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: He can do stuff on the horizontal plane, but it's just the way that he runs his routes.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: The very few gather steps Carl in terms of, you know, when he's kind of back for the ball and just, you know, yes, he can do all the vertical stuff, the stacking and that sort of thing.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then he's going to help you like saying that in the return game straight off the bat.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Some, it's interesting.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you, what should, who just, I mean, we could probably pick ten sleepers quite frankly.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm just looking at that, the slot guys, and I, you know, Cyrus Allen, Louis Bond, Eli Hyden, right.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I could just throw names out of slots that I just think are really interesting players.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: But where did you give us a couple of sleepers that you like at this position?
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: Skylar Bell ends up being one of the more productive receivers from this class as a whole in the right situation.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I would believe you.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: I love the way moves.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: I love the way and drops were a big thing with him before this past year.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: He really cut down on him and it was a big part of his growth.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: But man, like there's a run after catch element there, there's a attack the football willing to elevate when we need to elevate.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's a run after catch element to him and just not really talked about at all.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think he's a super
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: high floor player now, maybe the, the unforesterial drive you a little bit nuts and we play that you can, so I get that there's a level of competition conversation to have there about his route running versus when he gets to the NFL level, but he just struck me as a really well rounded player that.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's explosive too like he's got some great numbers with his athletic profile that's that shows this is not just Oh, I'm picking on Who's on the schedule like he's a twitched up guy so I don't know why he's not More frequently in that Midday two conversation, but you think about the success stories that we see on day two Why does he receiving the every single year if you told me Skylar bells kind of got next in that regard
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100 run catches last year.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: So to me, he should run the billetnik off.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love them, but I just thought Bill was just so, we're so good.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: And what I thought from 24 to 25, I just thought some of the new ones, again, of the route running, just looked a little better.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that,
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the ankle flex, the, there was just moments, I thought of like dominance, and I know we're talking about, you know, it's you can, it's not, you know, it's not the SEC, but I just think he fluid is around running.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: He never stops his feet.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: The hips are smooth.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: The ankle flex, as I said, he uses his head and his shoulders, and it, you know, really well to just separate and to look one way and move his body, the other way, just to, to get a DB to open his hips.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think,
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: You can also run a full routry and for me, when you go to the NFL level, that onboarding is going to be significantly easier because he's got a full grasp of what he's supposed to be doing.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: The tempo control is there, maxed four, four, four, you're the con mine, six foot, 185, played under an NFL head coach, Jim Mora Jr., I know who'd be 24 when the season starts, but yeah, I am.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's flying right under the radar.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a really solid sort of mid to late second day pick and we just I think we'll turn out to be a really big value pick in that in that area.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, my big fan of here is who else did anybody else that you like?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's such a deep class.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you mentioned the slide types.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: I like Kevin Coleman from Missouri.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, pretty interesting kind of what they did with him to get him the ball in his hands.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he's,
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: kind of got that slot free release, jitter buggy, you know, can make some things happen run after catch.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: The size profile is not that of a perimeter receiver, and I think that's for me, he's he's going to be like a late for early five is is where I've got him graded, but.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: 510, 179, but he's he's got the ability to kind of create and they didn't really push the ball with him a ton.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_00]: They asked him to do a lot of lift to get yards and he's somebody that I think
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: As long as you've got somebody who has a gravitational pull in your wide receiver room, like somebody that's that is going to be the the primary focal point, like don't put them in with a bunch of two's and three's and expect them to really seize a large chunk.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he can be a guy that takes advantage of
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was the 20-21 Missouri player of the year.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you know this to have, how many return touchdowns do you have in his prep career?
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: Do you know?
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'll guess something crazy and say more than I can count on two hands.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 16.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: Three.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: Which is wild.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: And again, talk about onboarding guy that can just step right in, pay some special teams.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: 81.8% contested catch situations wins for him last season, which I thought for a guy that's five, ten, five, one, two, one, seven, eight, nine is, you know, it's pretty decent.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: Former trumpeter in the in the high school march in round, I really like him.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's a, he grew up playing with Luther Burden in high school and in, in kind of little league and all the way through the system.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Lots of come back, lots of slants, lots of digs, but strong hands, crispening out his brakes.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like him a lot.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_02]: I am my sleeper guy, or one of my sleepers is Josh Cameron with Bayley.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: who I had just every time I watched him, I was just like, there's nobody is talking about his kid, like nobody.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I just thought, wow, he's just like physically, he's built a bit like Debra Samuel, he's big, he's mega thick in the in the lower half, but I just love how he goes about his business, he's fast, he's physical, he can block, he's
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: like a football addict, he was obsessed with being a running back, played running back for me, that's why he was number 34, he's never chosen his, he's never changed his numbers, but I just, yeah, I just, I really, you know, not particularly well recruited, but the things that he can do, I think in terms of being a coming in and being a, you know, prototype, zed, he's a bit high-cut,
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: but that the release packages are, you know, I was watching the thinking, like, okay, size, tick, speed, tick, clearly you can't, you know, you're not gonna be able to get off the lap.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, actually, wow, okay, it's diamond releases and all sorts of, okay, routes must be, no, actually crisp routes and patience and tempo and, okay, it's hands must be, no, these got really good hands as well.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what is it that I'm not seeing that, like other people,
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: What am I seeing that other people aren't, you know, it must be a terrible kid off the field.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, he's not.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's, you know, he's an incredibly high character kid.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: He was a finalist for the Buzzworth trophy is the best walk on in.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: In college football, it's like, wow, I would absolutely take this kid at the back end of day two, early day three, just because of what he, to me, he's like, he's like a faster John Jennings or he could be that kind of faster John Jennings, so yeah, I am, you know, I'm big fan of camera at 614 220 that's a big human being that you can do a lot of things with.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder for some, if there's not just that Bailer PTSD, yeah, I think about Antoine Goodley, who was at Bailer a decade ago, right?
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: And he was another one, he was like 5, 11, 2, 25.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: had a crazy season with Art Briles in 2013 where he caught like, average 19 yards catch had like 15 touchdowns, that's easier.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: So like, and he got a ton of gas from draft nicks.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: The year that he came out.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it obviously didn't happen and like it's that like don't scout the helmet trope where I saw a lot of the same things that you did with Josh and yet here I see a lot of like fringe draftable greats for Josh Cameron and I just I didn't see that level of concern.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: with now what's the they have their protee yet that we have numbers for him because I don't even get in test.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: So the maybe that was what everybody's hold up was on but
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: I even went back and watched the some of the boysy state tape and was like, no, it's still, it's still the same as a week ago.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let me pull up some of the results whilst we're talking.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: It was just like, you know, I mean, even the coaches there were like, this dude is like a Frisbee catching dog.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: He just like does
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: just kiss everything.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: And while you're looking for that, so you're right, I asked so you're Robinson about having a couple of catch point guys to throw the ball to with the combine and you should have seen the smile that popped on his face when I was like, what's the comfort level like knowing when you've got guys with the length?
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: like Josh Cameron and how long he is and trig at tight end, because Cameron at 6-1 has 33 and 1-8th since arms like that and that shows up when it's when we're crowded and he like man it is it's such a great feeling to know that if I put it in the zip code you know it's they're going to make a play on the football for me and and I think you know maybe he's not the
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: most twitch-up separator, but a guy that has that kind of length gives himself a as good a chance as anyone should have to sustain 16 contestic catches in one drop, which is what he had in 2020.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I can't get the, I'm going to the details.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: Other than Michael
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a deal, it's not a deal.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a mum could jump higher on that and she's nearly 80, so yeah, okay.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: The other guy.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: No, he didn't get no work out.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's in a cap injury.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: So he's working out, he's put scheduled work out on the 15th.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, okay, cool, that's good.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: Be interesting to see what numbers he run.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I'm not big for him.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then the other guy, I mean, again, you can go right down the list, whether that's down your sub-convits or, you know, Jilliel Farouk or, you know, Jamie Michael Sturdevand is, you know, I mean, this is a guy that ran a 10, 30, 700 meters and there's a two-time state champion, you know, there's a lot of different chocolates in this, this wide receiver box.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: We, again, after now, we're talking about this the other day, Lewis Bond at Boston College, like a guy that nobody talks about vis-à-vis here as achievements and his output, you know, he lacks great size that was he 510197 isn't explosive, isn't twitchy, doesn't have the athletic measurements, all the speed when you run a 455, it's pro-day, all he ever does is get open.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: and move the sticks.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the BC all-time receptions leader with 213 career catches, his contested catch rate last year was second only behind Carnell Tates in the draft class at 83% or something ridiculous.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: His catch rate over expected was 13.88% last year and the
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: For comparison, when the Cuba Cup one offensive player of the year, CR-OE was 7.2%.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, 2.7% career drop rate, which, again, is outstanding and is catches each year of increase from 1 to 5 for 52 to 67 to 88.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, this is a guy that knows, you know,
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: knows how to feel the ball in his hands recruited by Jeff Haffley.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think this is a guy, you know, the lend up being that kind of who's the guy, can you art a month field, the guy that's right, he's going to be kind of third down, he knows exactly where this, I mean, his nickname is literary sticks because he's always getting to them and past them apparently.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: He just strikes me as a guy who'll just be a, you know, a really reliable sort of third down, fourth down,
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: Goal line he kind of you know a guy that can just get open because that's what he does He just gets open and open and open the whole time just a really interesting player to watch So yeah, I mean did you watch Bond we did you have an opinion on I don't have his final Evaldon yet.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's I got like six receivers left and he he's one that's still on the to be determined Is something to enjoy when you're sitting down in a cold not having the next
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: New days, right?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: I want to tell you about mould core environmental South Florida's trusted mould inspection expense.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: If your whole office smells musty or you're worried about what might be hiding behind the walls, mould core gives you real answers, no scare tactics, and no guesswork with over 15 years of experience.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: They are fully licensed and insured, serving everywhere from the keys to Tallahassee because the only thing that should be growing in South Florida is pay off hopes.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: But mould testing, you can trust core mould core environmental at 9.54, 7.09, 2.9, 9.8, that's 9.54.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: $7.09, $2.09, $9.08, an elf who should be wearing a Pittsburgh helmet, but I think he's probably taking it off, he's going to pay some more bills for us, elf.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: And we're back from brain.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: Before we get out of here, one more position to do this week tight ends, which is, again, kind of a, we talked about running that last week, not being a particularly compelling group.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like this is a particularly compelling group either.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you end up with what's your top five on the tight end position?
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I, I kind of begged to differ with the Titans, okay, I did, I did 20 and all of them got draftable grades.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, okay.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: How many of them got top 100 grades?
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's a little bit of a different story.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: So let me put the filter on my all positions list for just Titans.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up with I'll give you the six guys that got top 100 greats.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: Kenyans City, Oregon, first round grade, 14th rank player overall.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: I really like the receiving profile for Eli Stowers.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's not for everybody.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's not going to be for every scheme, but the explosiveness, the catch radius, the big slot receiving profile.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think about if he were to land with like a Sean Payton at Joker role in their offense, I love that, right?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: To kind of be like what Evan and Grim was supposed to be when they sign him.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Roush is my third item.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_00]: Love her.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: Traditional Y in line player.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: I've got a third round grade there.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: So we ran out of first and second round grades from two players, right?
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: So that kind of defines the class for me.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oscar Delb.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: is my fourth tight end, as kind of always been inconsistent with the production, but you see the flashes when he gets the ball on his hands.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: You see the flashes of the athletic profile, they get a good enough player to play with his hand in line.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good enough player to reduce down and be kind of the big slot who's going to help catch you edges when you run
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: I've maxed Claire from Ohio State as tight and five and then I have dialing Bentley from Utah is my first fourth round grade and hundredth player overall.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: interesting.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: Insights week one, I have dealt with too.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: I really like that.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: The reason I like him is that I just think, you know, the formula number one, I end in the in the country in terms of high school kids, and he came in essentially just behind blockbours, but the Georgia coach and size spoke to somebody at Georgia.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: a year ago, and they were like, you know, we just had to get dealt on the field because you know, he was just a good player.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: I fundamentally sound athlete, and so they just essentially not convert him, but just sort of had him blocking the whole time because, you know, those tackles, especially, you know, you just replacing one year tackle who's then going to the NFL, who's going to be replaced, you know, he comes on road free, you know, whether it was hilarious memes or whoever.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: And so just having a hellout in line, and it was almost like he just became guilty by association in terms of the association being blocking.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_02]: And the athletic profile just wasn't really ever, I just think it was just untapped.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: Carla just think that actually, you know, when he gets the
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: The way runs, I think there's just so much more in terms of an upside that you can go to that we just haven't seen.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's got flexors, ankles to change direction quickly.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's got enough juice to beat man coverage.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think he and stack his defender.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think, yes, it's a working progress because we haven't really seen it, but I just think that when
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: given the opportunity to do it, he didn't let anybody down at all and because he does what he does so well, which then allows an offensive corner to essentially just stay in 11 or 12 personnel most of the time.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: The stuff that he does well never ends up on the on the stat sheet, but you know, he turns up at the can't run at the conmime because of the the hairline fracture that they discover.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: It runs a 449 anyway, three weeks later.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: Discovered the entire season with that hairline
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was really annoying.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I like him.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think his game is, I just think it's an upside there that's, that's, I'm tapped that I really like.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: Then I ran out.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: Can I jump in real quick on that?
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's a thought that I have, and it's, it's a dangerous need to invoke here.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I'm not saying that he is going to be the next version of this player, but the profile as a college prospect, almost reminds you in some ways a George Kittle.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: right where like George Kittle and what he was at Iowa is obviously not the player that he became as a receiving player with the San Francisco 49ers, but like the athleticism is there.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of was forced out of necessity with the offense that he played in to have to major in blocking.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then they get him in a situation where we're going to run a bunch of play action boot game and get up under center and you're going to draw a bunch of heavy matchups where you're going to get matched against linebackers and safeties in coverage and you're going to get a chance to get runaways and beat those guys and really shine with the ball like I can see that being the pathway for the leap to happen and I'm not saying the leap is going to go where George went.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: But as you're talking through that perspective from Georgia, it's like, yeah, that's how Georgia kid will get drafted in the fifth round, right?
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I would expect help goes comfortably before that based on how both of us haven't rated.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: And the reason that George didn't, you know, wasn't the George kit or we know is because guess what he was having spent most of his time doing exactly what dealt was, which was being a blocker in that run first scheming.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: I've cooked for rents.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm a big fan.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's just like I said, untap potential there.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: I've got Raosh next.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: I loved, I just thought in some of scouting, I was just watching him and I was like, this kid is, it's
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: is really good, like, you know, just a really good player can do exactly what you want to, kind of Tyler, he'd be type it athletically, you know, I think he's physically in the run, going just a reliable, why I had seven drops of season actually, but like just watching the tape from 24 in the summer, just seeing him leak out underneath and making catches and picking up, yeah, being able to turn that field, picking up your arms and then just, you know,
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: smashing people in the wrong game.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: I just thought, you know, just really enthusiasm as a blocker.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: We really, really enthusiasm as a stalk blocker.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and the hands I thought in 24, not quite so good in 25, but yeah, really enjoyed his taste.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: Star Wars next.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then Marlin Klein,
- 46:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's a guy I like and maybe maybe it's the European thing, grew up obviously over here, he's German from colour and played for the Clone Crocodiles and then went over to Georgia, not speaking English, but I think he's, you know, this is a guy that sat behind AJ Barnard and Colston Loveland to cover as a full-time starter in 25.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I just thought the strategy made would just, you know, when I some physically has the tools run a 46, he's got 66 to 50, yet it's all still a working progress, but just, you know, if I'm looking for a guy who's gonna just develop and play into a particular position because he's got the kind of the base standards that I'm looking for, then I thought actually,
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, as a guy that can work up to the second level, as a guy that can latch and turn its base, that can play a little bit of why, yeah, there's some tech e-quibbles and stuff, but I just thought the upside was nice and mine inclined.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, what about a sleeper, car, where did you pull up for this?
- 47:20[SPEAKER_02]: Because there's a lot of kind of guys who could be wise, maybe, but there's a lot of guys you're never going to bring into the formation that you're going to keep the tax for the time with that.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: So Justin Jolie or an RJ Maryland or guys like that, that two very distinctive, already three actually because the guys that don't fit between either of those two stalls.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: Where would you, who did you find as a guy in the mid-late rounds that you really liked?
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was just getting ready to ask what, what archetype of Titan would you like a sleeper?
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's, um, I really liked Matthew Hiddner from SMU.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Transfer from Michigan and very low production profile before this year.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_00]: I see the athleticism, I see the way in which he can feel space as a guy that really didn't have a big time receiving profile before this year.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was really impressive to watch him and how comfortable he was kind of addressing the ball.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: don't really have them in that conversation.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: But for me, if you're going on day three or five, seven, 37 inch vert at six, four, two, fifty, seven, or two, if you want to excuse me, kind of a late breakout, but transfered to SMU, kind of gets out of the Michigan offense, where it's kind of the same thing, where run first style offense, line large.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's a guy would take a flyer on to be my F, tight end, down the road, and try to develop.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: I really like this game.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a, yeah.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: Look at that.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_02]: Jaren Kannack, you know, converted linebacker who, you know, just some of the work that he did in the run game.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was actually, you know, this is a guy that could end up being a fallback, for example.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: He read 10, 3, 700, he is in the high in high school, which is, in say, I actually liked them.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: There's the kind of the blocking guys that the kid at Will Cosmaric at a high estate and they bulk share it.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm always looking for that Jackson Horse type and Bulkacher kind of is like the guy that really surprised me when I was watching about the the shrine film was was bow a sharp of that issue.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was excellent in one of one drills.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he sat up his routes really effectively.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he separated with, you know, your quick feet and a little bit short area burst and I thought that linebackers and safeties certainly in in Frisco kind of struggled to matches twitch and that salesmanship as well.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: at the top of the route, some contested catches that I thought were excellent and, you know, he was tracking back and working back to the ball on under the throwing targets down the field and, and actually look better than I remember in, you know, in past blocking as well.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: I go back to the year before in terms of Mason Taylor and again, using that word onboarding, just the
- 50:06[SPEAKER_02]: the NFL system and the scheme and the personnel groupings that LSU find themselves in naturally, which certainly helped tailor, you know, even though it was a young kid, to be able to assimilate perhaps quicker than some, when you look at sharp coming through that same system as well.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: And again, you're looking potentially for guys that can contribute on special teams and just not wet themselves down their own travel leg when they first get out there and I kind of feel like sharp might be one of those guys.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: The LSU conglomerate was pretty ticked off of Brian Kelly that it was like, man, this is just another underutilized player based off of what he's physically capable of being so that's the other part of this too right is is you know for some of these guys it's it's the scheme that they're in but for other ones you start to see a trend of.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: So they're only asked to play within a certain box where maybe we ask you to do past game stuff, but it's very one-dimensional and it's very simplistic.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he's got a chance to be one of those guys that can maybe break free and shake loose and be a productive.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_00]: Almost like a Grand Calcuttaera type player.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what I could foresee being a favorable role for him that they keep
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, interesting guy, right, that's it for this week.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for listening.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for watching.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_02]: You can catch Carla A to Z sports or at Carcraft's on Twitter, you can catch me on my sub stack, which I've done nothing on because I'm trying to face this draft book, which will be out in the next two weeks, probably.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: If I don't kill myself first, and I'm out as I can't see on Twitter, don't forget, I'm all caught environmental 954709 to double at 98.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: We will be back next week.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: We'll break that more prospects in the meantime.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_02]: Have a good week.
