- 0:55Speaker 2: There's a lot of stuff going on actually, like the release.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Like so far, the.
- 0:59Speaker 5: Reviews have been pretty stellar.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Everybody seems to be loving the new direction, if you
- 1:04Speaker 2: can call it a new direction.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so tell me from your previous stuff.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Sorry once more, you saying music's taken.
- 1:15Speaker 1: How do you define that different from your previous stuff.
- 1:20Speaker 5: I mean the lineup is pretty fresh.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I mean ditinue guitar players obviously make it a little
- 1:25Speaker 2: bit different.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Also on my voice.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Of course, this is going to be the first album
- 1:29Speaker 2: that I am doing all the vocals and the lyrics
- 1:32Speaker 2: and stuff. So yeah, and we're also having a bunch
- 1:36Speaker 2: of live stuff coming up. If you want me to
- 1:38Speaker 2: talk about.
- 1:39Speaker 1: That, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 2: We we have something big to announce in September, which
- 1:44Speaker 2: I'm not allowed to talk about yet because it's nothing finalized.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Yeah. We're also heading.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Out on an eleven day eleven show tour with a
- 1:52Speaker 2: Alston violenter in November in Europe. In December, we're heading
- 1:56Speaker 2: over to Spain for four or five shows. Bus you
- 1:59Speaker 2: correct me if I'm saying stupid stuff. Yeah, And then
- 2:03Speaker 2: we're hitting some summer festivals. We're going to Obscene Extreme,
- 2:06Speaker 2: headlining the Friday of the festival and also partisan the
- 2:12Speaker 2: anniversary edition of the Party San festival in Germany.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It's a lot, it's a lot.
- 2:17Speaker 4: We're basically, we're planning. We're planning a lot basically for
- 2:20Speaker 4: the record. Also because it's we see this as a
- 2:25Speaker 4: news start for sure to line up and everything so previous.
- 2:30Speaker 3: How many of the previous members are in the band still?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Is it just you sound?
- 2:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's now. I'm actually pretty well pretty fresh.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I joined in twenty twenty one after the unfortunate passing
- 2:43Speaker 2: of s Van. But the two oldest Remillion members is
- 2:47Speaker 2: our bass player Manu.
- 2:48Speaker 5: He's been in the band. Bashi how long like thirteen
- 2:51Speaker 5: years now?
- 2:51Speaker 4: Fourteen he started twenty eleven.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Yeah, so fifteen years now.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And Bashi obviously, who's been doing just before I was
- 3:01Speaker 2: even born, which he started playing drums seven years before
- 3:08Speaker 2: my date.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Of birth, So that's right.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I founded a band in nineteen eighty seven with
- 3:15Speaker 4: another guy. It was not in the band anymore, Okay.
- 3:19Speaker 1: And you just said that was seven years before you
- 3:20Speaker 1: were born.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Well, the found the foundation of the band in nineteen
- 3:25Speaker 2: eighty seven is two years before I was born. And
- 3:27Speaker 2: he started playing drums in nineteen eighty two, which was
- 3:30Speaker 2: like seven years. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even planned
- 3:32Speaker 2: back then.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so we don't we don't talk about h no,
- 3:37Speaker 4: no exists.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's sportless, it's it's all fluid.
- 3:41Speaker 3: In the well of broken rolling metal, I'd say, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: it's fair fair game, you know, guess guess the age
- 3:46Speaker 3: and you'll never know. Indeed, So you guys have been
- 3:50Speaker 3: doing it for a little while and the new lineup,
- 3:54Speaker 3: new album, and lots of touring. So what can the
- 3:57Speaker 3: fans expect to see the sales on there, the new
- 4:01Speaker 3: album that you're taking to the road.
- 4:03Speaker 1: It sounds pretty good. I have gave the list and
- 4:04Speaker 1: it was pretty nice.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Thank you very much. I mean what they what the
- 4:10Speaker 5: fans could expect.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It's the same thing that they could expect in the
- 4:12Speaker 2: last five six years. I mean it's the same flash
- 4:14Speaker 2: cry energy, just with a new twist, new songwriting, new vocals.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and giving it So you're gonna be giving
- 4:21Speaker 3: some old the old fans that are the fans, the
- 4:23Speaker 3: old favorites, or just sticking to.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 4:25Speaker 2: We play old stuff on every single show, everything from
- 4:29Speaker 2: our very first record in ninety two to like Made
- 4:32Speaker 2: of Flesh in two thousand and four.
- 4:34Speaker 5: So it's a it's a pretty spread out catalog of music.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Nice, nice, And so what was the main drive for
- 4:40Speaker 3: this new album? What was the focus that you drew
- 4:43Speaker 3: from to bring it all.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Together being pissed off.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Just in the world in general.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I mean, I mean I could only speak for myself personally,
- 4:54Speaker 2: but I think in generally.
- 4:56Speaker 5: We were like in the band, we are all.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Kind of fans of old school and the old way
- 5:02Speaker 2: of music, you know, on the chance that makes me
- 5:06Speaker 2: sound like a fucking boomer. But the point was not
- 5:10Speaker 2: to use any you know, like modern production techniques like
- 5:12Speaker 2: enhanced drums, like triggers, all that chinhormous studio production layers
- 5:18Speaker 2: and stuff. I just wanted to make something really organic
- 5:20Speaker 2: that was going to resonate with the old fans and
- 5:22Speaker 2: also the new ones if they come along and listen
- 5:25Speaker 2: to you know what we're doing now in twenty twenty six. Yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 2: and personally from my end, Yeah, at the time, I
- 5:32Speaker 2: didn't even realize that. I just realized that then when
- 5:34Speaker 2: the interview started coming on and I started talking about
- 5:37Speaker 2: the lyrics, I was apparently kind of obsessed with the
- 5:39Speaker 2: definition of war and like the doom worshiping that was
- 5:42Speaker 2: going on in the media, So that's kind of visible
- 5:44Speaker 2: in the lyrics.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a pretty wild tile recently. So when
- 5:49Speaker 3: did you start writing those lyrics? For most day songs. It was.
- 5:54Speaker 5: It was a gradual process over the last four to
- 5:56Speaker 5: five years.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I mean we started writing the first new songs for
- 5:59Speaker 2: the album in twenty two and the lineup has already
- 6:01Speaker 2: settled in and we played some live shows together, with
- 6:03Speaker 2: quite a lot of live shows together. And yeah, so
- 6:07Speaker 2: the guys started throwing around, you know, musical ideas, and
- 6:11Speaker 2: as soon as they had a bass or a demo
- 6:13Speaker 2: or something, I just hopped on and started doing demos
- 6:15Speaker 2: and lyrics and like, you know, feeling out like how
- 6:17Speaker 2: this whole thing is going to work nice.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's how you sort of send a brain together,
- 6:22Speaker 3: is that you've got some you know, a bit of
- 6:24Speaker 3: a sample and then you put lyrics to what or
- 6:26Speaker 3: do you you just write lyrics like without any music
- 6:29Speaker 3: or that's not how it comes together.
- 6:33Speaker 5: For me. It's kind of different.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Like I always have like two or three little notepads
- 6:37Speaker 2: with me, even when I'm traveling under road blah blah blah.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And sometimes you know, there's just a phrase or something
- 6:43Speaker 2: that you're thinking about that seems important, so you always
- 6:45Speaker 2: just kind of write it down. So there's that, like
- 6:48Speaker 2: I have a bunch of notebooks together with like phrases
- 6:50Speaker 2: and like metaphors and stuff that I would love to
- 6:52Speaker 2: use like blah blah blah. And then on the other side,
- 6:55Speaker 2: there's also you know, when you're listening to the music,
- 6:58Speaker 2: bless you, inspiration always comes a little bit easier, like yeah,
- 7:04Speaker 2: when you're you're feeling out the song, like you know,
- 7:06Speaker 2: like the concept is a little bit of more melancholic song,
- 7:09Speaker 2: is it more aggressive or you know, stuff like that,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and then you just kind of pair your own ideas
- 7:13Speaker 2: with whatever you have.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, no, for sure.
- 7:16Speaker 3: For shure, I know often it happens with the friends
- 7:19Speaker 3: of mine who are also musicians and you know, goodfriend
- 7:22Speaker 3: who's that it does rap and I love that because
- 7:25Speaker 3: it's rap and metal, two kavorite things.
- 7:27Speaker 5: And we've just been i mean ever since run DMC
- 7:30Speaker 5: came along.
- 7:31Speaker 2: REP and Rock would been kind of like, uh, this
- 7:33Speaker 2: a genuous marriage.
- 7:34Speaker 5: I would say, I know.
- 7:35Speaker 3: It's pretty special. I absolutely embrace that all the way.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But yeah, we've just been in conversation. I'll say something
- 7:42Speaker 1: random and you'll be like, that's a good lyrics in
- 7:44Speaker 1: a song and I'm like, oh so people who are
- 7:46Speaker 1: that way mind, And it's always interesting and that the
- 7:48Speaker 1: good fun I've got many notes of my notes type
- 7:51Speaker 1: on my phone with the lyrics for an out thrown
- 7:53Speaker 1: around here and there and yeah you look back and
- 7:55Speaker 1: go forgot about that one.
- 7:57Speaker 5: But yeah that could work.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah it does.
- 8:01Speaker 5: It's you.
- 8:01Speaker 3: But honestly, some of the places and spaces that I've
- 8:06Speaker 3: and people that I've got lyrics from, and you never think,
- 8:08Speaker 3: but it's quite.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It's quite.
- 8:12Speaker 5: It's an interesting process.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Always absolutely absolutely be self questioned what about for how
- 8:18Speaker 3: you you know the music yourself?
- 8:21Speaker 1: Like obviously you've been part of that.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I contribute sometimes here and there with some roofs. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 4: and some of them are taken the others or not,
- 8:35Speaker 4: you know, so I'm collecting stuff basically.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 4: And on this record, I wrote one one song together
- 8:41Speaker 4: I mean mainly was written by by Boris and of France,
- 8:45Speaker 4: but I did one of the the melodies of the riffs,
- 8:49Speaker 4: and I wrote the instrumental which is on the record.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I mean that's only like a minute, but any.
- 9:00Speaker 2: In a minute, yeah, but everybody, like yeah, during the
- 9:09Speaker 2: writing process, everybody and this record actually contributed to everything.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Like there is no specific you know, lines.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Like I always I was very ridiculous about kicking this
- 9:18Speaker 2: guy's ass, Like the drums need to be tighter, the
- 9:20Speaker 2: blesbies needs to be louder. Yeah, and then return and
- 9:26Speaker 2: they make my life hell when I was trying to
- 9:27Speaker 2: finalize the lyrics, so.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Circle, it all comes around in the end of it.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Always it's like being in a bad marriage for four
- 9:36Speaker 3: or five different other people. Really, isn't it being avant? No,
- 9:42Speaker 3: that's good And so obviously you guys will do work
- 9:44Speaker 3: well together, and which is particularly important when you're touring
- 9:48Speaker 3: because that can get imagine, you know, in tends a time,
- 9:51Speaker 3: you know you know on the same page.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Or able to deal with each other.
- 9:55Speaker 3: What are you some of your most memorable moments on
- 9:57Speaker 3: the road from touring that you have with the band here.
- 10:01Speaker 5: From the past couple of years.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I can only say since what happened since twenty twenty one,
- 10:06Speaker 2: Like there's two or three very particular highlights that I have.
- 10:09Speaker 2: There's a festival in Slovenia and the most freaking beautiful
- 10:12Speaker 2: part of the world, and it's like a national reserve,
- 10:16Speaker 2: like a national nature reserve. It's called Metal Days and
- 10:19Speaker 2: we got to play the big stage on the last
- 10:22Speaker 2: edition of that particular festival. Then obviously when this question
- 10:28Speaker 2: comes around, I have to mention seventy K in Miami
- 10:31Speaker 2: because that was absolutely surreal. Yeah, and the other thing
- 10:37Speaker 2: was playing Summer Breeze, Okay.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Nice, just the experienced the bail on stage of just
- 10:42Speaker 3: the festivals themselves.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean these are pretty large, like you know,
- 10:46Speaker 2: legendary festivals in your Freez and metal days both have
- 10:49Speaker 2: been going for like decades now, and it's always fun
- 10:52Speaker 2: to experience something new, and the crowds are always different,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and like, yeah, everybody says like the European festival season
- 10:59Speaker 2: is like kind of the pinnic of touring, and I.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Think, yeah, they do say that that's kind of huge
- 11:03Speaker 3: over there, massive festivals and and you get.
- 11:07Speaker 5: A quite number of i mean only Ermany and the
- 11:10Speaker 5: Czech Republic next to each other.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Like they have Partisan, they have Summer Breeze, they have
- 11:14Speaker 2: Fuck and they have Healthfest and Friends, they have brutal Assaults.
- 11:17Speaker 2: They've seen extreme Fiko Party, Weird and Stinky Fest. There's
- 11:22Speaker 2: there's so many grind core stuff going on, Like I
- 11:24Speaker 2: firmly feel like we're definitely extreme music.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, definitely sends in grandom culture in European countries.
- 11:33Speaker 3: It's very much, Brice, which is awesome for yourselves and
- 11:36Speaker 3: you know, many.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Others, all the post communists hate just coming out in
- 11:40Speaker 2: the form of I get it, I get it.
- 11:43Speaker 1: You know, it's yeah, it's it's weird, isn't it.
- 11:47Speaker 3: But you see and actually it was at a gig year,
- 11:50Speaker 3: you know, you see the young men and really get
- 11:53Speaker 3: into it, like throw around punches in its light, I
- 11:56Speaker 3: kind of get it.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Away, just getting it out of the system and like,
- 11:59Speaker 1: rather than yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It's it's like us, it's it's like it's it's either
- 12:05Speaker 2: that for.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Like people like us, or we become serial killers.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah exactly.
- 12:10Speaker 3: It's like taking out here and giggle like you straight,
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm like, and I'm like, I'm happy with the.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Metal, yeah exactly.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah. We have a lot of festivals in Australia going on.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we do, we have some a lot. That's the
- 12:25Speaker 1: whole metal scene.
- 12:25Speaker 3: It's really starting to pick up, and like, you know,
- 12:28Speaker 3: rather than export ourselves, we're keeping our bands at home,
- 12:31Speaker 3: which is kind of nice to see. And there we've
- 12:34Speaker 3: got I definitely figured out summer festivals at home.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, you guys have a lot of stuff to
- 12:39Speaker 2: be proud of, Like even a CDC is from their
- 12:41Speaker 2: airborne freaking Parkway Drive became absolutely gigantic in the last
- 12:45Speaker 2: couple of years.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, there's a few, there's there's a few of them,
- 12:49Speaker 3: and yeah, we're definitely, definitely are proud for sure.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And then at the moment, you know, all the bands
- 12:54Speaker 1: from My Misspent you they're all doing anniversary tours.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that content it actually is missing. You know, we
- 13:02Speaker 4: never played there.
- 13:03Speaker 5: I never played there with Yeah, yes, I say yes.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I mean we've been closed when we did the tour
- 13:10Speaker 4: in Asia, okay, yeah, yeah, we never made it too.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah do you have lines onder or is it see?
- 13:18Speaker 1: How are you say?
- 13:19Speaker 4: How?
- 13:20Speaker 2: It's not a matter of flas I don't really think
- 13:21Speaker 2: we have any context down there or any book engagencies
- 13:24Speaker 2: to think it's like, you know, worth it to fly
- 13:27Speaker 2: us out, I don't know, twenty seven something hours.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Australia do get expensive. That's that's the Yeah.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's also like you know, and the costs of
- 13:38Speaker 2: touring are just getting more extreme and extreme by every
- 13:40Speaker 2: single fucking And it always depends on if there's a
- 13:44Speaker 2: benefactor or a book eng agencies who likes us enough,
- 13:47Speaker 2: you know, to pay for.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And some of the frestival runs too.
- 13:52Speaker 3: There are always going to get on with your bands
- 13:54Speaker 3: as well, but then it's good to to know that
- 13:58Speaker 3: you've got.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Someone that supports that than having to you know, it's
- 14:02Speaker 1: bands having to counsel.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And let's just put it this way, Australian fans fully
- 14:06Speaker 2: start bucking our book eng agency.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, the boys give them some love and love their way.
- 14:14Speaker 1: You never know.
- 14:15Speaker 4: If my record is is accepted well in there by
- 14:19Speaker 4: the fence and everything, maybe then stuff is changing.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Absolutely absolutely some we went that the scene is becoming
- 14:27Speaker 3: more and more well known here. A lot of artists,
- 14:29Speaker 3: you know, in the European countries, they say they've got
- 14:31Speaker 3: such a big following of in down Under, which is
- 14:33Speaker 3: always really encouraging to hear.
- 14:35Speaker 4: And I'm honest, I have I have no idea about
- 14:38Speaker 4: how with Australia, you know, Yeah, no idea really, So
- 14:43Speaker 4: I don't know the scene there and I think I
- 14:45Speaker 4: don't know any death metal bands from there.
- 14:49Speaker 5: A few.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Destroyer sixty six is from there. Yes, yes, that's the
- 14:54Speaker 4: only I.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Have a favorite, a favorite band from New Zealand that
- 14:58Speaker 2: I have been listening to a very long time. I'm
- 15:00Speaker 2: ulcer reed, Okay, yes, yes, yeah, those guys are absolutely insane.
- 15:06Speaker 3: We've definitely got a strong metal scene down here. So
- 15:10Speaker 3: just jump from the jump on the socials and the
- 15:13Speaker 3: true review I call it. That's always good when you
- 15:15Speaker 3: jump on your channel and you can see where he
- 15:17Speaker 3: starts and but your listeners are from always quine of interesting.
- 15:20Speaker 3: This is all good stuff like that, but also it
- 15:22Speaker 3: doesn't pay too much mind to you know, put too
- 15:24Speaker 3: much focus on it as well. But no, I definitely
- 15:27Speaker 3: you definitely have a stronger fan base down here. So
- 15:31Speaker 3: hopefully we'll see you on festil run or headline tour
- 15:35Speaker 3: in the near future with a new album helping.
- 15:38Speaker 5: I'm very open to fly into Australia. I would love
- 15:40Speaker 5: to see the country.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's bait of flat here. It's a bit
- 15:43Speaker 3: of us in winter time. It's getting cold now, so so.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, hold on, what does cold constitute in your university?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Okay? Anything below twenty five degree celsias and I'm like.
- 15:58Speaker 5: In the winter we have around minus twenty two.
- 16:01Speaker 1: The gold I hate it so bad.
- 16:03Speaker 3: My father went to Japan early in February snowboarding and
- 16:07Speaker 3: I'm like, he's just so gone. Ah, you just couldn't
- 16:11Speaker 3: handle me bringing about the cold time.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Hate it. It's not good, So I enjoy that.
