- 0:50Speaker 3: that you get in the kiosk in the middle of
- 0:52Speaker 3: the mall right, you know, it's like all that's what
- 0:54Speaker 3: it is.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It's like not vanilla. It's like weird vanilla. Yes, Nia,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's just nilla. Yeah, it's Nila.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Wayferst rub it on a skid, That's what it is.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Okay, got it all right?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Dirty little secret if you've got one eight three three
- 1:07Speaker 3: seven eight seven one o two nine, whatever your secret
- 1:09Speaker 3: may be, and you have a wild one.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I've never told anybody this, not even my best friend.
- 1:15Speaker 1: When I was in my twenties, I worked in a
- 1:17Speaker 1: nursing home. You know how like if you're a teacher,
- 1:20Speaker 1: or if you're any kind of healthcare work or anything
- 1:21Speaker 1: like that, there's some people that you just connect with
- 1:23Speaker 1: and you don't know why you just do.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Well, there was this one lady. I'm gonna call her
- 1:27Speaker 1: Miss Lucy. She was ninety three, and she had dementia
- 1:31Speaker 1: and everything that could go wrong with her poor little
- 1:33Speaker 1: body was going wrong with her, poor little body. And yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 1: I mean she was ninety three. She was doing her best. Yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: of course, and she hated everybody in the world.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I'd hate everybody at ninety three too. Well, you do
- 1:45Speaker 3: sound nice. So she hated everybody but you.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah, So she trusted me. I don't know why she
- 1:50Speaker 1: talked to me. She trusted me. She felt comfortable with me.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I think from things that she said, it could be
- 1:57Speaker 1: because I reminded of her daughter. Her daughter had passed
- 2:00Speaker 1: away about ten years earlier. So whenever I had some time,
- 2:04Speaker 1: I would go in and sit with her and let
- 2:05Speaker 1: her talk. And sometimes she would say things that it's like, okay,
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's not miss Lucy, that's the dementia. But sometimes she
- 2:13Speaker 1: would say things. Most of the time, honestly, until at
- 2:15Speaker 1: the very end, she was sharp as attack. So one
- 2:17Speaker 1: night she started talking about her husband and started talking
- 2:20Speaker 1: about how he had been Like, no, she didn't say abusive,
- 2:23Speaker 1: because when you're ninety three, you don't use that language,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but she said that he would beat her.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Oh, oh god.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And there was she had no options because you know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: back then, you couldn't get a divorce because your husband
- 2:35Speaker 1: be because that was his job was to make sure
- 2:36Speaker 1: that he was being a man.
- 2:37Speaker 2: That's awful.
- 2:39Speaker 3: So she tells you this, which is her righteous and yeah, okay,
- 2:43Speaker 3: And I'm just.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Talking to her and just sympathizing with her and telling her,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know, how brave she was and everything. And then
- 2:49Speaker 1: she looks at me and she goes, you know, he
- 2:50Speaker 1: died and that's what finally set me free. And she goes,
- 2:53Speaker 1: the crazy thing is nobody knows I'm the one who
- 2:55Speaker 1: killed him.
- 2:56Speaker 2: What whoah? She said that out what.
- 3:03Speaker 1: She said those words to me more than once.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yep, Oh my.
- 3:06Speaker 3: God, what did you say?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Well? I looked at her for a minute because I'm like, okay,
- 3:11Speaker 1: is this a dimension talking? She sounds like she's making sense.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I looked at her, and let me tell you something.
- 3:15Speaker 1: She was there, miss that was miss Lucy talking.
- 3:17Speaker 3: That was not the dimension, no way, So you could
- 3:21Speaker 3: because I do know. You mean, if you've ever dealt
- 3:24Speaker 3: with somebody who has unfortunately that you know that disease,
- 3:27Speaker 3: you know when they're kind of there and when they're
- 3:30Speaker 3: not there.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So you could.
- 3:31Speaker 3: You knew her well enough that like, this wasn't something
- 3:33Speaker 3: she was just you felt like it wasn't something she
- 3:34Speaker 3: was making up.
- 3:36Speaker 1: To me. Wow, And I was just I was just
- 3:40Speaker 1: joking around with her. Was like, oh, miss Lucy, you
- 3:41Speaker 1: would never do something like that. You're such a nice lady.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And she looked at me dead in the eye. She goes.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Everybody thought he died of a heart attack. Let's just
- 3:48Speaker 1: say I might have helped him along.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh that gave me the chills, Like I'm just like, yeah,
- 3:54Speaker 2: what do you do?
- 3:56Speaker 3: What do you even do and say when when that happens,
- 3:59Speaker 3: and something like what, I don't know what I would do?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Well, I mean, and in the moment after that, I
- 4:04Speaker 1: was just like, oh, miss Lucy, and I just kind
- 4:06Speaker 1: of blew it off and just kind of blew past it. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I started thinking about it. I'm like, do I
- 4:10Speaker 1: need to call the police. She's ninety three, She's not
- 4:13Speaker 1: got that much time by the time they even took
- 4:14Speaker 1: her to court. If they can even prove.
- 4:16Speaker 3: It, let the woman alone, right, So you never told anybody,
- 4:22Speaker 3: You just kept going and just that was it.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Didn't even tell my mama.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Nope, no way, Oh my god. So yeah, I mean,
- 4:33Speaker 3: what a confession she makes. You're making this confession of us.
- 4:37Speaker 3: She made that confession to you. That's something you don't forget.
- 4:40Speaker 1: No, Nope, I will never forget it till the day I.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll never spoke about it again.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Or she would mention it every now and then and
- 4:48Speaker 1: I would just kind of try to blow past it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And then towards the end, she just unfortunately wasn't making
- 4:52Speaker 1: any sense. So it just it kind of died its own.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I was going to say, so she obviously passed away
- 4:56Speaker 3: I mean, I don't want to say obviously, but I
- 4:58Speaker 3: mean she's ninety three, so it's been.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and this was when I was in my twenties
- 5:01Speaker 1: and I am definitely not in my twenties.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Okay, So she passes.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I mean I wonder if that was kind of her
- 5:08Speaker 3: way of maybe just getting it off her chest before
- 5:11Speaker 3: she passed, if she wanted to tell somebody that secret. Brighten,
- 5:14Speaker 3: you were the person.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I I don't know if it
- 5:18Speaker 1: made things easier for her. Yeah, maybe you're right, man.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Well, the police are on my other line right now.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I wouldn't doubt it though.
- 5:28Speaker 1: A long time ago. So good luck with that.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and obviously we're going to keep it anonymous.
- 5:33Speaker 3: But hey, thank you for your confession. And that's this
- 5:38Speaker 3: is up there with one of the wildest ones we've had.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I feel a lot better. Thank you.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Good at least we are. And I know Miss Lucy's
- 5:47Speaker 3: looking down and go, don't you snitch?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Don't you snitch? I don't know, or looking up. Yeah,
