  So talk about this, and we'll kind of recap what we discussed in our first podcast with you.

  Well, you know, I'm very interested in worldview.

  That's what I did when I was at seminary.

  Because I once heard there were people overseas who were coming to Jesus, but they're

  they hadn't changed their worldview.
• 3:38
  It's like literally, they still believed in communicating with the dead.
• 3:41
  You know, they still believed in a lot of other things, but when you really accept Jesus, it changes everything.
• 3:49
  And, uh, I mean, I heard people say, well, I'm a Christian, but I believe in UFOs.
• 3:55
  Uh, and I think the thing is it's, it's a dangerous thing because, um,

  The common narrative today is that these are visitors from another planet or another galaxy.

  Why shouldn't we get to know them?
• 4:11
  Why shouldn't we welcome them?
• 4:13
  And the big picture is that...
• 4:17
  They're not visitors from another planet or another galaxy.
• 4:21
  In fact, they are spiritual supernatural beings, uh, that have been trying to deceive us from the beginning of history.

  Uh, they are demonic or they're fallen angels or whatever you want to call them, but they're evil spirits.

  And, uh,
• 4:37
  You know, I could go through the concept of science.
• 4:39
  Why this affects us as Christians is that we could be deceived.

  I even heard a major pastor say, well, you know, God could have created life on other planets.
• 4:49
  And I agree, God can pretty much do anything he wants almost.

  But that's not what this is.
• 4:57
  This is a deception.
• 4:58
  These are not beings from other planets.

  And even scientifically, you can prove that.
• 5:03
  You can prove it because, number one, Earth is extremely unique.
• 5:09
  It's not just finding a planet with a little bit of water on it.
• 5:13
  There are 14 minimum, highly tuned conditions that life could not exist on Earth if they weren't in place.

  The tilt of the Earth, the rotation of the Earth, the Earth immune system for tides, the...

  asteroid built there's there's a whole number of things that are relevant and uh there as far as we know there is no other planet even though there's billions of other planets that meet those conditions the distance uh you have to travel to the closest star is 4.3 light years away uh that's four years there four years back i just don't see these beings hopping there and back and secondly nothing can travel at the speed of light except light

  And it would take too much energy.

  And even if you could travel one tenth the speed of light, your ship would be torn to shreds by space dust and space debris.

  Space looks like it's empty, but it's not.

  And the other thing is that the odds of life occurring by chance...

  are just incredibly remote.

  I mean, they did a study and it said it was 10 to the 556 power to one for even a simple bacterium to occur by chance.

  And just by comparison, to win the Powerball lottery, you only need 10 to the ninth power to one.

  So, you know, so just by science alone, so something's happening because we're seeing things.

  Well, what is happening?
• 6:44
  Well, yeah.

  It cannot be within our current three-dimensional, one-dimension-of-time universe.

  There's something outside of that.

  There's another dimension.
• 6:56
  And if you start talking about other dimensional beings, is there any record of that?

  In every religion and in every culture, they talk about supernatural beings that are not limited by the same conditions we are.

  As Christians, we call those beings angels.

  And I was going to go a little bit since I went into the other stuff before a little bit more into angels and supernatural beings this time, if that's okay.

  Absolutely.

  Let's come back to that.

  But I want to double back, go back and reinforce something you said at the very beginning, because what you said and even the first couple sentences might catch people a little off guard or maybe have a heart.

  They have a hard time believing it because of all the programming.

  And I want you to speak to this, Derek.

  Ancient Aliens is a show.

  I've never seen it, but apparently it's been running for 20 seasons.

  Tens of millions of people have watched it.

  You've spent 40 years in Hollywood.

  You know how this works.
• 7:56
  How deliberately has the entertainment industry, documentaries, blockbusters, the History Channel, Nat Geo, Discovery, all these other channels –

  They talk about aliens and UFOs in a different way other than the Bible, how the Bible addresses it.

  This shapes what people believe.
• 8:16
  Oh, yeah.
• 8:17
  So people already have formed ideas before they understand the biblical worldview.

  Please speak to that pre-programming and what we are trying to break down here.

  Yeah, well, I mean, as a writer myself and a person who does films, most of the stuff I do aren't documentaries.

  They're just narrative, fun action stories.
• 8:38
  And as a writer, I'm always looking for a new idea.
• 8:42
  And so are the other writers there.
• 8:44
  And so if you say, maybe there's life on other planets, you know, let's explore that as a story.
• 8:50
  And so that's what writers do.
• 8:52
  They don't necessarily sit down, how can we destroy the Christian faith?
• 8:56
  Uh, they're just coming up with, and that's why you'll see some stories that are pretty weird.

  Uh, but they, they obviously, they say they don't want to offend people.
• 9:06
  So they don't go into religion, but then they go into every other religion except Christianity, you know, but, uh, but, but the point is, uh,
• 9:15
  I think most of the time it's inadvertent.
• 9:17
  They're just saying, hey, Marvel Comics, suppose there were superheroes and suppose they were from another dimension and suppose this and suppose that.
• 9:24
  It would just make an interesting story to explore.
• 9:27
  But the recent film by Steven Spielberg and some other films, especially documentaries, are coming to the conclusion that, hey, maybe there's a reality that there is life on other planets.
• 9:38
  And these are very sincere people, I think.
• 9:41
  Uh, they're just, they, they don't know.
• 9:43
  They're not starting with Christian faith.
• 9:45
  And so they're saying, well, uh, suppose there's life on other planets.
• 9:49
  Maybe that's what this is.
• 9:51
  And the problem is they're not exploring the possibility that it's not from other planets, but there's from other dimensions and that they're not other beings like us, but they're spiritual beings that have ill, ill, uh, intent on their hearts.

  And so, um, yeah,

  You know, I don't know that, you know, most people in Hollywood are out to destroy the Christian faith.

  They're just exploring possibilities.
• 10:17
  And people find it interesting to watch.

  The problem is this is playing right into the hand of these spiritual beings who basically, I believe, are fallen angels.

  that they are evil spirits that have been around ever since the Garden of Eden.

  And they would like us to think that they are from another planet, because if they say, well, they're demons, no one's going to listen to that, right?

  But, and in fact, it's interesting that Jacques Vallée, who's secular,

  But one of the scientists who study this subject more than anybody else spoke before the UN and he said, these are not intergalactic and interdimensional and intergalactic and interplanetary beings.

  These are possibly extra dimensional beings.

  They're trying to engineer a belief that.
• 11:09
  that they're from another planet because that's more acceptable to us.
• 11:13
  You know, I think Hollywood, you know, basically is, it's kind of like what it does with the occult and other things.

  It doesn't make it seem as bad as it is.

  You know, it's like literally you're just trying to tell a good story.
• 11:27
  And if you're not a Christian, you just explore anything that's going to sell.
• 11:32
  And the problem is as Christians, we need people.
• 11:34
  Probably the next book I write is going to be being an intelligent consumer of movies and television.

  Because there's – you wouldn't – I mean, I've studied as a writer all the tricks that we as writers use to convince you that we're right and you're not.

  And there's tricks not only in the craft, in the lighting, in the way the camera angles are set up and everything.
• 11:59
  And, you know, basically –

  You need to learn to be an intelligent consumer.
• 12:04
  Let me just give you an example.
• 12:06
  In the recent film by Steven Spielberg.
• 12:08
  Now, Steven, I think, is a believer in extraplanetary beings.
• 12:14
  And what he does in the film, he sets up these space aliens as sympathetic.
• 12:21
  They have been tortured by human beings.
• 12:24
  They picked them up from crashes, and they ran experiments on them, and they tortured them, and so it's like –
• 12:30
  So you have sympathy towards them, right?
• 12:34
  On the other hand, the truth of the matter is I've never seen that.
• 12:38
  What I've seen are hundreds of people who've been experimented on and tortured by these supposedly gray aliens.

  And I would say some things, but I don't know.
• 12:49
  There's a family channel.
• 12:50
  I mean, that's kind of the things that they do are dealing with a sexual nature.
• 12:55
  And they...
• 12:58
  I mean, just for a simple thing, the whole thing with cattle mutilations, it's like you think, well, maybe it's a cult that's doing this, some sort of satanic cult.

  The problem is there's things about the way these cattle are mutilated that it's almost impossible for a human being to do.

  I've seen an interview with two butchers to say that we couldn't even do this as professional butchers and not leave any blood.
• 13:24
  I mean, and literally there's things about cattle mutilations that are just kind of otherworldly.
• 13:30
  It's like the other cattle won't go near them after they've been mutilated.
• 13:34
  Even carrion animals that will eat, you know, dead flesh won't go near them either.
• 13:39
  I mean, so there's something otherworldly about these beings and what they do.
• 13:44
  And they hurt people.
• 13:46
  They take them on their ships or whatever they do just mentally and say, we're not going to hurt you.
• 13:51
  And then they hurt you.
• 13:52
  So they lie.
• 13:53
  And Jesus says, you can test false teachers by their fruits.

  And you look at the fruits of these beings, these gray aliens or evil spirits or mothmen or whatever you want to call it.

  And they're not good.

  They're bad.
• 14:14
  Jesus says, a bad tree can't produce good fruit.

  And these trees do not produce good fruit.

  Well, Derek, let's go back to the biblical history, the world history, and what happened when one-third of the angelic beings rebelled and were cast out of heaven.

  Are these some of the spirits that people are saying are UFOs?
• 14:39
  What is your commentary on that?
• 14:43
  Yeah, I believe that that's what it is.
• 14:45
  I mean, you know, there's certainly not carbon-based life forms like us from another planet.

  So what does that leave you?
• 14:52
  Well, you look at all of world history, and even in the Christian faith and in other religions, they talk about spirits that are not bound by the same conditions that we are.

  Well, in the Bible, it sets it up that these spirits were created before God created us.
• 15:08
  He created a whole species of beings called angels, also called stars, also called sons of God, also called watchers.
• 15:17
  You know, he created these beings who basically are very, very intelligent, very, very powerful.

  Think of that.
• 15:25
  If you're God, you're not going to create losers.
• 15:28
  You're going to create servants who can do everything that you want done.
• 15:33
  On the other hand, when God created us, he calls us sheep.
• 15:38
  And sheep, if you're on the farm, you know it's one of the dumbest animals on the farm.
• 15:42
  He never calls angels sheep.
• 15:45
  But at one point, these angels, some of them, one-third of them, the Bible says,
• 15:50
  literally rebelled against God.
• 15:51
  Their leader was Lucifer or Satan, we call him.
• 15:55
  And he said, you know what?
• 15:57
  I want to become God.
• 15:58
  I don't want to serve God.
• 15:59
  I want to be God.

  And so literally this set up a theological controversy.

  Donald Gray Barnhouse...
• 16:07
  but we all have known pastor at 10th Presbyterian Philadelphia, wrote a book called The Supernatural War.

  And when I read about that, it put everything in place.
• 16:17
  Why is the things that are happening, happening?
• 16:19
  I mean, the Bible tells us, Paul tells us, he gives us a glimpse into eternity when he says, we don't struggle.
• 16:27
  We as humans do not struggle against flesh and blood.
• 16:31
  Our real problem isn't the boss at work or some other relative or somebody else who's suing us.
• 16:37
  Our real problem is, as it says, principalities, powers, world forces of darkness, spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.
• 16:48
  These are spiritual entities, different levels of spiritual entities that are very intelligent and very powerful, that are seeking to deceive us.
• 16:56
  And they work through other people.
• 16:58
  They work through other religions.
• 17:00
  They work through cults.
• 17:02
  I mean, in fact, they're probably the ones who created the cults and the religions in the first place, because their goal is to get everyone to rebel against God and then set up an alternate kingdom other than God's kingdom.

  Yeah.

  And, you know, and so the goal is to divide and conquer, to get the angels to fight against God, to get people to fight against their own families, to get churches to fight against each other, to get nations to fight against each other.

  Yeah.

  Nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom.

  Absolutely.
• 17:33
  We're seeing that played out as part of prophecy, fulfilled prophecy in a way.

  But that's my next question to you.

  I wanted to ask you about that.

  How might the UFO phenomenon be connected to end times prophecy and the rise of a global false religion?

  Do you cover that in your book?

  Yes, I do.

  That's the way.

  Well, to a certain extent, this is speculation, okay?

  I've studied a lot about prophecy, and I know what happens.

  They don't use the word aliens or gray aliens or whatever in the Bible, but they talk a lot about evil spirits.

  And I believe that what we're dealing with here with these space aliens are evil spirits, or they're possibly robots that the evil spirits are using to do their work.

  I mean, look at what we can do with robots today.

  I mean, it's pretty amazing.

  And they've been around thousands of years.

  They know so much more about science and biology and other things.

  I mean, you look at the...

  magicians that confronted Moses.
• 18:38
  Look, they could take a stick, throw it on the ground, and it would writhe around like a snake.

  Well, we can't do that, you know, even as far as we are.

  I think they're very powerful beings, very smart, and they could be using some of these confrontations.

  Gray aliens could be robots.
• 18:57
  I don't know, but I do know the source is the same.

  The source is evil spirits, and the Bible talks a lot about evil spirits.

  There's even one thing where these beings come out of the abyss, and they say, well, maybe they're helicopters, or maybe they're this, or maybe they're that.

  in the book of Revelation.

  And really, almost every good commentator says they're demonic beings.

  And so that there are evil spirits, I think, and you'll see this in other chapters in Revelation, there are evil spirits.

  So, yeah.

  It's entirely possible that these space aliens and crafts and things we're seeing are going to show up.

  It's just not mentioned by name that way.

  But the evil spirits are definitely there all throughout the book of Revelation.

  And so I give some examples in the book about how that might work out.

  But let me put it this way.

  Think about this.

  if an evil spirit is able to be inside a room with no one knowing it, they could be inside the Chinese military thing, listening to all the secrets that are given, and they could use those to create wars.

  I mean, literally, I mean, think about it.

  If you're a fly on the wall in the most secret military base, you know things that no one else in the world knows.

  And they do cause...

  people to war against each other.

  Just read the book of Job, and you find that some of the enemies of Job's children attacked them, but they attacked them on command.

  It's almost like evil spirits were the ones causing these other tribes to attack Job's children.

  So they can do that.

  I believe, chances are, that evil spirits are behind almost every war that's existed in the

  was demonically controlled.

  I believe that's entirely possible.

  And so, as I said, evil spirits.

  So, you know, and the thing that's scary is that these beings are trying to contact our military and get us to make pacts with them.

  The head of intelligence in Canada, former head of intelligence, the former head of intelligence in Israel mentioned...

  That they know about these beings and they're talking to them and these beings want them to join an intergalactic federation.

  Sounds like Star Trek, doesn't it?

  So, you know, so what's scary is if we have people in our government that aren't telling us that are making pacts with these beings, they're making pacts with demons.

  Right.

  You know, why wouldn't they, you know, and it's interesting.

  Hitler was very much involved in the occult.

  He was explored a lot of the different occultic things.

  You know, so I mean, it's scary that they.

  Yes, I believe in the book of Revelation that there will be evil spirits and some of them might be what we call space aliens today, or these gray aliens or something like that.

  So Derek, we're already down to five minutes, and you mentioned UFO spirituality.

  Is that kind of like people worship the idea of aliens or UFOs?

  Is this like a religion to some, and how has this captured the minds of young people today?

  Well, let me go back to just Colossians 2.

  It says, you know, it says, don't give any result to special days and things like that.

  Let no one keep defrauding of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of angels, taking stand on visions he's seen.

  That's right.

  Inflated without cause in his fleshly mind.

  Well, what does that sound like?

  Because holy angels do not accept worship, so these have to be evil angels.
• 22:51
  And people are worshiping them and giving credence to them.

  So this has been around for thousands of years.

  You go back to the ancient Egyptian gods, the ancient Near Eastern gods.

  People were worshiping them and trying to get guidance from them.

  I looked up one other thing for you here.

  One of the major UFO cults or societies is called...

  the Aetherius Society.
• 23:17
  Its founder is a guy called George King.

  Now, George King is a medium.
• 23:23
  Wow.

  Of course.

  And he essentially communicated messages from a supernatural being called Aetherius.

  And all their teachings, and the guy who's taken it over today says basically that's the basis of their UFO cults.

  So you can see that this is, it's very much connected.

  You know, let me get your picture back on the screen here.

  But yeah, it's very much connected.

  And it's interesting to me, there were some people trying to connect with a UFO in the distance.

  They didn't know how to do it.

  And so, you know what they did?

  They pulled out a Ouija board.

  Oh, of course.

  Does that tell you, this is connected to the occult.

  Yes.

  One other major guy is a guy called Greer, I believe it's Stephen Greer, who basically –

  has given probably 10 or 20 documentaries online about reaching UFOs.

  And he says, we can talk to them.
• 24:23
  The way we do it is through transcendental meditation.

  Well, transcendental meditation is a branch of Hinduism.

  You know, and that's Hinduism says there's three hundred and what is it?

  Thirty three million gods.

  Yes.

  You know, well, there aren't 33 million.

  There might be 33 million fallen angels.

  You know, there's one God, you know.

  And it's interesting to me when the Bible talks about angels, it says there were myriads and myriads.

  Well, a myriad in the Roman times was an actual number of 10,000.

  You multiply 10,000 by 10,000, you get 100 million.

  You divide 100 million by one third, and you get 33 million.

  And they say there's 33 million.

  gods, you know, I don't know.

  I think there's a lot more angels than that anyway.

  But the bottom line is this is very closely connected to the occult.

  And they're not going to come in and say, hey, we're from the occult.

  Listen to us.

  You know, that's right.

  I want to make sure that people understand this is spiritual at its core.

  This is a spiritual war.

  We talked about spiritual warfare.

  We don't fully understand it.

  You say in the book 99% of UFO sightings have natural explanations, but there is a spiritual dynamic behind angels and demons.

  We have to understand principalities from the aspect of the Bible from that perspective.

  Well, just understand there's one true God.

  Jesus Christ is the son of God.

  There's only one day to salvation.

  That's through Jesus Christ, not through works.

  Every other religion is wrong.

  I mean, basically, just as if you study, you know, right after the Ephesians 6, 12 passage is the armor of the Christian.

  the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet shod by the gospel.

  I mean, that's our protection.

  The other thing is to remember that Jesus says, if you're confronted directly by Satan or a spirit, just submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

  Because greater is he that's in us than he that's in the world.
