- 1:36Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:39Speaker 1: at Jill's Stadium, and uh boy, we had to come
- 1:42Speaker 1: in and like douse the room. It was on fire
- 1:45Speaker 1: after the catch twenty two.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Everybody, if you think he's going to be a super
- 1:50Speaker 4: Bowl quarterback.
- 1:51Speaker 1: If I if I had a.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Crystal ball, I can tell you that every everybody could
- 1:56Speaker 4: be a super Bowl quarterback? Then they would Who would
- 1:58Speaker 4: ever draft?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Anyway? It's dude, it's she must have had a good week.
- 2:04Speaker 1: It's Evan, myself and Matt and the booth and yes,
- 2:09Speaker 1: catch twenty two. We are following that. And if you
- 2:12Speaker 1: didn't catch it listen to it on the podcast because
- 2:15Speaker 1: I thought it was very entertaining. I thought it was
- 2:18Speaker 1: you know, as much as they were going at each other.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I think it was a good conversation with some good information,
- 2:25Speaker 1: differing opinions. But I loved it. It was a really
- 2:28Speaker 1: good show.
- 2:29Speaker 4: So nice, Yeah, have conviction take the quarterback.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Maybe we'll follow up with that conversation later in the show,
- 2:36Speaker 1: but we've got a lot to talk about. Obviously, it's
- 2:39Speaker 1: Jets weak. And like I said in the roundup, dudes, Snowby,
- 2:44Speaker 1: damned you beat the Jets. I think so, yeah, I
- 2:47Speaker 1: think everybody thinks so I don't know.
- 2:49Speaker 6: I don't know unless unless it's, like you know, the
- 2:51Speaker 6: Patriots turned the ball over six times, which is certainly possible.
- 2:54Speaker 6: The Jets might turn it over seven at the Patriots time, right.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It's who knows what's going to happen in this game.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Jet Jets games are always weird, usually, Paul, and you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: you probably won't back me up here, but I'll say
- 3:06Speaker 1: it anyway, usually no matter what. Now, just for that
- 3:09Speaker 1: in a given season, the two games against the Jets
- 3:12Speaker 1: are different.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Oh, I would wholeheartedly agree with that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm never the same, you know, one game never mirrors
- 3:18Speaker 1: the other.
- 3:19Speaker 6: No, I mean even like that twenty ten season where
- 3:21Speaker 6: like the Jets, what beat them the week two? I
- 3:24Speaker 6: mean I think it was like close to a halftime
- 3:25Speaker 6: and then the Jets is pulled away and then the
- 3:27Speaker 6: Patriots hammered him here, and then like three weeks later
- 3:30Speaker 6: the Jets came back in and eliminated them in the playoffs.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, usually the games are very different.
- 3:34Speaker 3: The sixteen game winning streak featured a reasonable amount of
- 3:38Speaker 3: competitive games in New York in blowouts and not always, but.
- 3:44Speaker 4: The playoff game it was nine, ten, ten, ten that
- 3:49Speaker 4: that was like the most shocking Patriots loss of I
- 3:52Speaker 4: can remember forty nine whatever it was, but because I
- 3:56Speaker 4: remember them destroying them in the regular season and it
- 3:59Speaker 4: was like two different Oh yeah, they're playing different sports.
- 4:01Speaker 4: At that point.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We've got into the playoffs being sure we're gonna win
- 4:04Speaker 1: that first game many times, but I can't remember being
- 4:08Speaker 1: more sure that we're going to beat the Jets, and
- 4:10Speaker 1: then we lost that game.
- 4:12Speaker 6: There was no trepidation though, of just I don't know,
- 4:14Speaker 6: there's something weird about you just beat, you know, a
- 4:16Speaker 6: divisional opponent, and usually they those like you said, those
- 4:19Speaker 6: games are always so like swinging back and forth. I was,
- 4:22Speaker 6: I was definitely a little bit concerned.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And that's just the game.
- 4:24Speaker 6: The way the game unfolded, you knew, it's like, oh man,
- 4:26Speaker 6: this is not he had it down.
- 4:29Speaker 1: He knew what exactly what he needed to do.
- 4:31Speaker 6: They and they execute, and Sanchez played the game of
- 4:34Speaker 6: his life. And I mean that Patriots defense just prayed
- 4:36Speaker 6: on turnovers. They needed turnover so badly to overcome how
- 4:39Speaker 6: bad they were.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And I don't think they neary got a turnover.
- 4:43Speaker 6: I mean I think what was David Harris maybe picked
- 4:45Speaker 6: off Brady and and took it back like first or
- 4:47Speaker 6: second possessions, something.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Like that lazy pass.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah I know what you're saying. Yeah, we're supposed to
- 4:54Speaker 1: be like a screen or yeah yeah yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 6: And a crumpler crumpler drop one too.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 5:01Speaker 6: I got like Paul memory of that game because I
- 5:03Speaker 6: was I was going.
- 5:03Speaker 3: To say to you, I don't I don't want to
- 5:05Speaker 3: see anymore your squinty eyes at me. That was pretty
- 5:08Speaker 3: that the the Aldree crumpler, in which, by the way,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I just realized that's.
- 5:12Speaker 1: A difficult name for me to say.
- 5:15Speaker 3: In the in identifying David Harris as the guy who
- 5:19Speaker 3: intercepted the past.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That's he came to the Patriots for like he did
- 5:22Speaker 1: like was he here? Even he was here here?
- 5:24Speaker 3: Wasn't he did that? He was still thinks he's on
- 5:27Speaker 3: the team. He still refers to him all quite often.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Damien Harris. Now, all right, so we've got the Jets.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We're going to do picks later. We'll find out what
- 5:36Speaker 1: everyone thinks about that and all the other games.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Sounds like sounds like not crazy snow at least the
- 5:42Speaker 6: latest report maybe like three, three to five and nothing crazy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It differs where you live in sar But I've heard
- 5:50Speaker 1: anything from three to ten here. Yeah, yeah, well.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Three to ten those are my favorites.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Those are larger range.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but they also want person I heard this morning
- 6:01Speaker 1: said that it's going to keep snowing, so a total
- 6:04Speaker 1: accumulation could be ten, but it won't feel that way
- 6:08Speaker 1: because it'll take a long time and the roads will
- 6:10Speaker 1: be cleared throughout and so it won't have the impact
- 6:13Speaker 1: of a sudden ten inches.
- 6:15Speaker 6: It'll just be by the end of the game. No
- 6:17Speaker 6: one can leave now, you just can't leave. And maybe
- 6:19Speaker 6: it's for the best. We all just stay here on
- 6:20Speaker 6: Sunday night, you know, camp out.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Usually that's what we do and we're able to get
- 6:24Speaker 7: right out. But if the fans are stuck here too,
- 6:26Speaker 7: you have.
- 6:26Speaker 1: To dig out our cars. Yeah, we're having you know,
- 6:29Speaker 1: elongated postgame show.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Sure, what's the four hour? I mean, Hardy, we're not
- 6:32Speaker 6: gonna let him go. We don't just keep it going
- 6:35Speaker 6: hard in the studio. We should just keep going.
- 6:36Speaker 8: Pa.
- 6:37Speaker 1: We should say tell Hardy that Fred said, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: tell him this in the pregame show. Fred said that
- 6:42Speaker 1: because it's your last post game, he wants to do
- 6:45Speaker 1: four hours.
- 6:46Speaker 3: And if you owe him to potential for it to
- 6:48Speaker 3: be Bill's last game, you know we wanted to do.
- 6:50Speaker 6: How about he's got to make up the hour that
- 6:52Speaker 6: he ditched on Christmas Eve or like, we need to
- 6:54Speaker 6: make that up because I'm not paying you a full rate, right,
- 6:56Speaker 6: you don't give me an extra hour?
- 6:57Speaker 1: Now?
- 6:58Speaker 3: Now, do you want me to wait till you get here?
- 7:00Speaker 1: No, you know, you just say it. I'll try to
- 7:02Speaker 1: watch and get his Okay, oh yeah, you'll be here, Fred,
- 7:05Speaker 1: So because you'll react differently if I'm.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Not say oh yeah, I forgot to tell you like
- 7:09Speaker 3: during the premio.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Right t to be like, no, no, that's what we're doing.
- 7:11Speaker 6: We got to we gotta go longer.
- 7:14Speaker 3: But I'm not gonna be able to carry that through.
- 7:16Speaker 3: He's gonna he's gonna die.
- 7:19Speaker 1: All right, So we got the jets. We also have
- 7:22Speaker 1: to talk about this. Andrew Callahan and I didn't had
- 7:26Speaker 1: a story.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Yeah, they were both on it. They're both on it
- 7:28Speaker 6: the kind of like like Andrew and Karen did last show.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeah, so they credits were credits. They tag teams on
- 7:35Speaker 1: that one. I thought it was a good story. I
- 7:38Speaker 1: thought there was some good information there. What I gleaned
- 7:43Speaker 1: from it was that Bill had enough hand in the
- 7:47Speaker 1: offense to kind of screw things up. And I don't
- 7:50Speaker 1: mean that in a bad way. In other words, he
- 7:53Speaker 1: was kind of involved, but he wasn't involved enough in
- 7:57Speaker 1: that people. It wasn't organized. It was you know, dysfunctional
- 8:02Speaker 1: as a word that a lot of people use, but
- 8:05Speaker 1: it people weren't on the same page when it came
- 8:08Speaker 1: to the offense.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Well, I mean, what I kind of took from it
- 8:11Speaker 6: was that kind of refusal to allow new people to
- 8:15Speaker 6: come into the building, especially with Bill O'Brien.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Well, that's part of it was the biggest issue. That's
- 8:19Speaker 1: where I talk about Bill's involvement, like he he wasn't
- 8:22Speaker 1: willing to just hand it over to Bill O'Brien.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Yeah, And also the mention that that was, you know,
- 8:27Speaker 6: not really an offensive coordinator search done in good faith.
- 8:31Speaker 6: It was more you know, lip service.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And as I sort of opined to the time, again,
- 8:36Speaker 3: this is a report, Yeah, a bunch with a bunch
- 8:39Speaker 3: of anonymous quotes. But I don't think Bill wanted to
- 8:42Speaker 3: move on from Matt Patricia.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I think that that's what Bill wanted to He wanted
- 8:46Speaker 3: to see it through, and I think he felt like
- 8:48Speaker 3: it was working.
- 8:49Speaker 6: Nothing. Nothing that was in there really felt out of
- 8:52Speaker 6: left field to me. It was just kind of details
- 8:54Speaker 6: like you.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Know, stuff and stuff in fact, and you wonder.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Like, is this the first time on major issues when
- 9:02Speaker 1: it came to the team that Bill didn't get his way,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and you wonder if his reaction of not getting his
- 9:09Speaker 1: way was, you know, we'll see what happens, and so
- 9:13Speaker 1: he didn't buy into the ultimate decision.
- 9:15Speaker 3: I love its petty level.
- 9:17Speaker 9: I think the pettiness.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, well I want to you're gonna make
- 9:21Speaker 3: me do all that to the offense.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I want to stop that work. But you
- 9:26Speaker 1: know there's a certain resignation maybe like I know this
- 9:30Speaker 1: isn't gonna work, you know, so I.
- 9:34Speaker 6: Love your next level. I mean like I just feel
- 9:36Speaker 6: like none of it worked. And I mean going back
- 9:37Speaker 6: to Matt Patricia and then wanted to run. I mean,
- 9:39Speaker 6: nothing was working. And I mean really what it had
- 9:41Speaker 6: to have happened, I think was you know, a total
- 9:44Speaker 6: house remake of the offense from you know, not Bill's buddies,
- 9:47Speaker 6: but like the things that that we talk about, like
- 9:49Speaker 6: in twenty twenty, we had to say we don't have
- 9:51Speaker 6: Brady anymore, we need to re establish this offense and
- 9:54Speaker 6: go in a different direction. And sorry, you know Josh,
- 9:57Speaker 6: but I mean that that would have taken huge cohones
- 9:59Speaker 6: to get rid of Josh while he was still here.
- 10:01Speaker 6: But I mean, in hindsight, that's probably the only thing
- 10:03Speaker 6: that could have really made it, made it any, made
- 10:06Speaker 6: any difference, is redoing the offense, because I mean, Troy
- 10:09Speaker 6: Brown doesn't come out looking great into this thing. Adrian
- 10:11Speaker 6: Clem sure doesn't. And these are all things that we've
- 10:13Speaker 6: talked about. There's nothing that we're like Oh my god,
- 10:15Speaker 6: this is groundbreaking. But you know it's like Adrian Clem
- 10:18Speaker 6: yelling at Mac Grow. It's like that's we were We've
- 10:20Speaker 6: been yelling at Mac Grow on the show like that,
- 10:22Speaker 6: you know, not draft the tackle.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I think that that was my my biggest takeaway about
- 10:25Speaker 4: it was the assistant coaching staff and the fact that
- 10:30Speaker 4: it's this like schmorgasbord of like holdovers Adrian Clem, one
- 10:37Speaker 4: Bill O'Brien guy and Will Lawing, Like it doesn't make
- 10:39Speaker 4: any sense, you know when you really think about it
- 10:41Speaker 4: that way. And I don't necessarily think it's like the
- 10:44Speaker 4: offensive system, but there I hate the term brain drain,
- 10:48Speaker 4: but like the brain drain of Ivan Fears and Dante
- 10:51Speaker 4: Scarnekia and all the guys that Josh took to Vegas
- 10:55Speaker 4: with him, like all that that was never replenished, and
- 10:58Speaker 4: instead of giving Bill o Ryan the power to hire
- 11:01Speaker 4: his own guys and to build his own staff on
- 11:04Speaker 4: that side of the ball, they kind of saddled him
- 11:06Speaker 4: with some of these coaches that weren't very good. And
- 11:09Speaker 4: on Adrian Clem. You know now that it's like reported
- 11:12Speaker 4: and out there, it seemed to me like there there
- 11:15Speaker 4: was real issues that weren't just health related going on
- 11:20Speaker 4: with Adrian Clems, and there was a lot of just
- 11:25Speaker 4: tension I think between him and Bill O'Brien and him
- 11:28Speaker 4: in that room and the thing that they had in
- 11:30Speaker 4: there about James Ferrence. Basically, coaching is something that we
- 11:34Speaker 4: have been aware of for a while now as well,
- 11:36Speaker 4: so I can all that I think is is spot on,
- 11:40Speaker 4: and like that the fact that a player has to
- 11:43Speaker 4: essentially coach, and I think David Andrews is kind of
- 11:45Speaker 4: in that boat as well as sort of a guy
- 11:47Speaker 4: that another guy that's player coaching at this point, like
- 11:51Speaker 4: because there they don't have the right guys in place
- 11:53Speaker 4: to run the offensive line is a major indictment on
- 11:57Speaker 4: the head coach.
- 11:58Speaker 6: I would just I would just say, like I kind
- 11:59Speaker 6: of have a little different view of it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Maybe I feel like what Bill.
- 12:02Speaker 6: Was trying to do was re establish the Dante Scarnek.
- 12:05Speaker 6: He was trying to bring in Matt Patricia and let
- 12:07Speaker 6: everybody grow together.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You know.
- 12:08Speaker 6: I think like that's how I kind of viewed it
- 12:10Speaker 6: was that what he was trying to do was put
- 12:12Speaker 6: pieces in place and let them stay here and let
- 12:14Speaker 6: them gain experience and you know, and That's why I
- 12:17Speaker 6: think his refusal to, you know, let Bill O'Brien, I mean,
- 12:19Speaker 6: that's the let Bill O'Brien hire a staff, like, let
- 12:22Speaker 6: him determine who the offensive line coaches, you know, they
- 12:25Speaker 6: it seems like those moves were kind of made independently
- 12:28Speaker 6: and he was just kind of staff.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I think it was, oh, you're not going to do
- 12:31Speaker 1: what I want. Okay, Well we'll see how it works out.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And so he didn't put the energy in to the
- 12:36Speaker 1: offense that he normally would, but you did see the
- 12:40Speaker 1: results on the defense.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I have a couple of questions about it in terms
- 12:44Speaker 3: of so back to you know, and I agree with
- 12:47Speaker 3: Evan and Mike about the big takeaway to me is
- 12:50Speaker 3: about the structure of the assistants and everything. And you know,
- 12:55Speaker 3: it was termed in there some they wouldn't allow Bill
- 12:59Speaker 3: O'Brien to pick and choose his staff. So is that
- 13:04Speaker 3: a Belichick you know, I'm going back to the money,
- 13:07Speaker 3: is that a Belichick? Like Edict's like, no, you're gonna
- 13:10Speaker 3: make do with these guys, because that's part of the
- 13:12Speaker 3: coaching budget thing that we've heard about. Like, I think
- 13:15Speaker 3: there's a lot of different vagaries that are not good.
- 13:18Speaker 3: None of them are good. None of the options, none
- 13:20Speaker 3: of the possibility.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Or assuming Bill just said no, you can't do it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But it could have been a budget thing. It could
- 13:25Speaker 1: have been you can't because we just don't have the budget.
- 13:28Speaker 3: But I'm wondering if that's Bill's but you know, like
- 13:30Speaker 3: that whole report, that Bill, it could be sort of
- 13:33Speaker 3: you know, get Belichick money for the staff, and he
- 13:36Speaker 3: doles it out as he deems fit, you know, which
- 13:40Speaker 3: if that's the case, and that's why, like that's a problem. Yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 3: And the other thing I kind of found. I vacillated
- 13:48Speaker 3: back and forth to wow, Clem has been a disaster
- 13:51Speaker 3: to Clem is a sympathetic figure in the story, Like
- 13:54Speaker 3: he's trying to coach in a different way. He's trying
- 13:57Speaker 3: to sort of modernize the way he's coaching. And then
- 14:00Speaker 3: he leaves the team and they go back to and like,
- 14:03Speaker 3: you know, it's kind of like I was thinking of
- 14:05Speaker 3: like Cam Newton, you know when I when I was
- 14:07Speaker 3: out for they changed.
- 14:08Speaker 1: The whole offense.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Like they go back and they just start teaching it
- 14:11Speaker 3: the old way. You know, Like right, that's not good either,
- 14:14Speaker 3: Like you're undermining your own coaches, even if you think
- 14:16Speaker 3: he's doing it wrong, Like at this point, it's too late.
- 14:20Speaker 3: It's the middle of the season. You can't just change
- 14:22Speaker 3: the way he's doing everything. So I kind of felt,
- 14:26Speaker 3: on one hand, Clem doesn't come across very well in
- 14:30Speaker 3: this story. And on the other hand, I was like, well,
- 14:34Speaker 3: they didn't really seem like they gave him much of
- 14:35Speaker 3: a chance.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Right, And I mean, I mean I was.
- 14:38Speaker 6: I was sympathetic with him when it said he was
- 14:39Speaker 6: yelling at that grow of you know, this is what
- 14:42Speaker 6: you get me.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Well, see, I'm sympathetic for that. Obviously on the surface,
- 14:45Speaker 3: he's right, But is that the way to do it right?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Right now? That's fair. I was a little disappointed though.
- 14:50Speaker 6: I didn't feel like there was much quality insight into
- 14:53Speaker 6: mac and and how the you know, they kind of
- 14:55Speaker 6: offered both sides of it, which is just what you know.
- 14:58Speaker 6: One side said you can't the ball over, another side said,
- 15:01Speaker 6: we don't believe him anymore.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So, well, whether or not you think Max Gonna could
- 15:05Speaker 1: have been good or will be, you know, it was
- 15:07Speaker 1: a bad situation for any quarterback to be in.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was illustrated in the story.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's just why, you know.
- 15:13Speaker 6: I mean, I think it goes back to that question of,
- 15:15Speaker 6: you know, why did the offense get worse this year?
- 15:16Speaker 6: I mean this, this certainly shed some light on it,
- 15:18Speaker 6: but at least from Max point of.
- 15:19Speaker 1: View, bringing Bill O'Brien in, you.
- 15:22Speaker 6: Would have thought that that would have helped him a
- 15:24Speaker 6: little bit, you know, And it's just it doesn't even
- 15:25Speaker 6: seem like it broke any of the bad you know,
- 15:28Speaker 6: vibes from last season.
- 15:29Speaker 3: But I get back to Fred's point, his next level point, like,
- 15:33Speaker 3: is it part of the reason why it didn't work
- 15:36Speaker 3: is because they didn't embrace it? Like I think that
- 15:39Speaker 3: part of the reason Matt Patricia didn't work last year
- 15:41Speaker 3: is because Max Jones didn't embrace it this year. I'm wondering,
- 15:45Speaker 3: did Bill really not want Bill Belichick really not want
- 15:48Speaker 3: to do it this way? And it's kind of doomed
- 15:51Speaker 3: to fail if if if the guy that's most important
- 15:53Speaker 3: in the operation isn't on board with it, like, how
- 15:56Speaker 3: is it gonna work?
- 15:57Speaker 1: And even even you know, Bill O'Brien, everybody probably had
- 16:00Speaker 1: a little bit of to blame here. And the other
- 16:03Speaker 1: thing I took out of this is, you know, whoever
- 16:05Speaker 1: the source was, is that usually you get to spend
- 16:08Speaker 1: more time with your unit, with your position coach. Yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I thought, and O'Brien had more offensive you know, all
- 16:16Speaker 1: offense meetings, and you didn't have all that time with
- 16:19Speaker 1: your position coach. And I thought that was interesting. You know,
- 16:22Speaker 1: that does change.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Things because I think that that's O'Brien's way of saying,
- 16:25Speaker 3: I'm not I can't I don't trust those guys to
- 16:27Speaker 3: do it the right way, so I have to do
- 16:29Speaker 3: it all myself, exactly Mike.
- 16:31Speaker 6: But but but I mean, would it be fair than
- 16:33Speaker 6: Fred to call your your figure out pulse at next
- 16:35Speaker 6: level or whatever it was, you know macro look is
- 16:37Speaker 6: I mean, is that self sabotage? And I mean when
- 16:39Speaker 6: what did he think the result was going to be?
- 16:41Speaker 6: Because it was are and down.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It was apathy. I think I think there was a
- 16:46Speaker 1: certain apathy by Bill toward the offense and it starts
- 16:51Speaker 1: with Bill O'Brien all the way to Jones and and beyond.
- 16:55Speaker 9: But you could say that last year too.
- 16:57Speaker 7: By I mean, I feel like when he put Patricia
- 17:00Speaker 7: in place in it, we started to see it all
- 17:02Speaker 7: kind of failing. We were like, what is his deal
- 17:05Speaker 7: is Is it a stubbornness or is it that like
- 17:07Speaker 7: he is so unwilling to bring anyone new in that's
- 17:10Speaker 7: not in his inner circle that he doesn't trust.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I think that's why he did it. But I do
- 17:14Speaker 1: think he honestly thought it could work. I agreed, I
- 17:18Speaker 1: thought it could work too. I'm not going to be
- 17:19Speaker 1: a fraud.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I think that too. And I think to take it
- 17:22Speaker 3: a step further, I think he still could. I think
- 17:24Speaker 3: he thinks it was it was working. Yeah, it was
- 17:26Speaker 3: getting better and it was going to be fine.
- 17:28Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I think much like after they lost by thirty points,
- 17:31Speaker 3: he's asking if it was a one game, you know, one.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Off as Callahan said in the story, and Paul said
- 17:36Speaker 1: it last year others too, if it was up to Bill,
- 17:40Speaker 1: he would have stuck with him, I wondered, Patricia.
- 17:42Speaker 7: I wonder how it would have played out if the
- 17:44Speaker 7: Callahan story from last year didn't necessarily come out and
- 17:48Speaker 7: expose the Joe Judge stuff and the issues they had
- 17:52Speaker 7: on the offense, and it kind of put the fire
- 17:55Speaker 7: to Craft's feet in the way, like did he feel
- 17:58Speaker 7: the pressure externally so much that he finally had to
- 18:01Speaker 7: step in and be like we have to do something
- 18:03Speaker 7: just that.
- 18:03Speaker 3: That's a really good point because Robert's not in the weeds,
- 18:07Speaker 3: like he's not doing what we're doing every day and
- 18:09Speaker 3: dissecting every play of every game, you know, So that
- 18:13Speaker 3: story comes out and it really illustrates to him, you know,
- 18:16Speaker 3: just how dysfunctional it was.
- 18:18Speaker 1: And it's not to say that Craft read the Storian.
- 18:20Speaker 3: So no, no, no, no, no, no no.
- 18:22Speaker 1: If those things really every single day, if those things
- 18:25Speaker 1: really happened, Kraft knows about it and about it before
- 18:28Speaker 1: the story.
- 18:29Speaker 3: So the story. But what I'm saying is now he's
- 18:32Speaker 3: this story comes out and obviously, you know, I'm going
- 18:34Speaker 3: back to last year. It obviously got a lot of play,
- 18:37Speaker 3: and now Robert's like, what's going on? What is all
- 18:39Speaker 3: this stuff? What does this mean?
- 18:40Speaker 1: What happened?
- 18:41Speaker 3: And he's he's getting the answers from, you know, probably
- 18:44Speaker 3: the guys that are involved.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I was surprised Joe Judge kind of dodged any
- 18:48Speaker 6: any bad stuff too that I was kind of waiting
- 18:50Speaker 6: for that to come.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I'm like, where's the you know, the Joe Judge.
- 18:52Speaker 3: This one, this one didn't have as much meat to
- 18:55Speaker 3: it as the one last year, But I thought they
- 18:57Speaker 3: were both really good. I thought he I mean again,
- 19:00Speaker 3: I know that there's a lot of people that are
- 19:02Speaker 3: traditional and they don't enjoy a anything negative. But more
- 19:07Speaker 3: more importantly, when it's negative and it's tied to an
- 19:10Speaker 3: anonymous source, it tends to get ignored. Well, you know,
- 19:13Speaker 3: the guy didn't have enough guts to put his name
- 19:16Speaker 3: to it, Like, I don't look at it that way.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I take, I take the stuff, you know, every single
- 19:21Speaker 3: thing in that like fact verbatim. Maybe maybe not, but
- 19:27Speaker 3: what you have to do to go through. And this
- 19:29Speaker 3: is the reason why I like to have the name
- 19:31Speaker 3: to it, because now you can attach the name and say, oh,
- 19:33Speaker 3: well that's the way Alex looked at it. Alex, you
- 19:36Speaker 3: know she wanted it to be this way, so obviously
- 19:38Speaker 3: her angle is to accentuate this. That's the only thing
- 19:42Speaker 3: missing is you don't know.
- 19:43Speaker 1: The one thing I do interesting is you know, there's
- 19:45Speaker 1: a lot of stories that have unnamed sources, but usually
- 19:49Speaker 1: the writer doesn't write. They all talked on the you know,
- 19:54Speaker 1: agreement of anonymity fear.
- 19:55Speaker 7: Of Yeah, right, it's like do they need to under
- 19:58Speaker 7: the witness protection Yeah?
- 20:00Speaker 9: Saying that was.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Kind of weird, Like why he felt he had to
- 20:03Speaker 1: write that.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I thought that was weird.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Obviously you're unnamed sorts because you don't want people to
- 20:08Speaker 1: know you say it because but he felt he had to.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I thought that was weird too, And I'm going to
- 20:12Speaker 3: take it a step further and just like back to
- 20:14Speaker 3: the entirety of the twenty twenty three season, the only
- 20:18Speaker 3: storyline is that an indication that whoever's talking isn't sure
- 20:23Speaker 3: what Bill's yeah going to be right right? His status is.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Going to be Yeah, that's fair?
- 20:29Speaker 3: Or do you just look at Bill as one of
- 20:31Speaker 3: those guys I don't. I don't really care if he's
- 20:32Speaker 3: here or not. I don't want to burn that bridge.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Well, also, Bill has tentacles throughout the league.
- 20:37Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, Like, whether he's here or not,
- 20:40Speaker 3: if I'm say Troy Brown, I don't want to say
- 20:42Speaker 3: anything and get him on my bad side.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Trent Brown two were a tough one for him.
- 20:46Speaker 3: With He's the only one that evidently didn't care.
- 20:49Speaker 6: Yeah right right now, and I don't know it's it
- 20:52Speaker 6: might be my.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Best call ever.
- 20:54Speaker 1: We joked.
- 20:54Speaker 6: I joke with Paul coming in, so you know all this.
- 20:56Speaker 6: I think we're both getting a little bit like they
- 20:58Speaker 6: haven't quit. They haven't quit, And I'm like, Brown's kind
- 21:00Speaker 6: of quit, Like the Sun proclaimed best player on offense.
- 21:05Speaker 1: He kind of He's kind of.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Quitclaim the best player on offense.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah, just him. So so that story's out there, and
- 21:13Speaker 1: again that's Boston Herald, Andrew Callahan, Doug Kyde, just a lot,
- 21:18Speaker 1: a lot of anonymous quotes, but just kind of a
- 21:21Speaker 1: look at the offensive dysfunction. And you know, as we
- 21:24Speaker 1: go into the last game of the season, I won't
- 21:26Speaker 1: be surprised if other stories leak out, especially Sunday morning,
- 21:31Speaker 1: you know, prior to the game.
- 21:32Speaker 7: I mean it started before Christmas with the Gerad story,
- 21:35Speaker 7: which to me clearly seems like it was a lot
- 21:38Speaker 7: of assistant offensive coaches were really squirmy right now, and
- 21:43Speaker 7: Girard addressed that stuff yesterday. So the timing of this
- 21:45Speaker 7: one's kind of funny today.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Seem a little shook. And then I I'm not a
- 21:49Speaker 6: big Instagram guy, but I happened to be on Instagram
- 21:51Speaker 6: and he posted like.
- 21:51Speaker 1: This, like reel of someone like a real.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Leader tells you the things that you need to do
- 21:56Speaker 6: to give you and know it was like this, I'm like,
- 21:57Speaker 6: whoa boy, This is very like easy to.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Draw, so it's very easy to talk about that a
- 22:02Speaker 3: little bit too, Like I thought that was a little
- 22:05Speaker 3: different answers.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought I thought it was a little rambling.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I think, you know, what he said made sense.
- 22:13Speaker 3: But I like that he took some accountability for it,
- 22:16Speaker 3: like like it seemed.
- 22:17Speaker 6: Like you really reflected upon it and took it to
- 22:20Speaker 6: I don't say art, but.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I'd rather have my leaders not necessarily.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but when you started dressing anonymous stuff, then you
- 22:27Speaker 1: go down a rabbit hole, right, you.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Know, Well, I I don't.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I mean, I just there's is there something between we're
- 22:33Speaker 3: on to the jets and that two minute dial tribe?
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 22:37Speaker 6: Right, No, that's that's probably That's what I did for response.
- 22:40Speaker 6: I just I don't know between And I just feel
- 22:42Speaker 6: like this article kind of just reframed things from a
- 22:44Speaker 6: different a little bit of a different perspective. It looks
- 22:46Speaker 6: like the same story that we've all kind of considered
- 22:48Speaker 6: and talked about. But I stand here right now completely
- 22:52Speaker 6: unsure of anything anything like.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Where's your gonna end up? Where's what's going to happen
- 22:57Speaker 1: with Bill?
- 22:58Speaker 6: I just I don't I have no clue right now
- 23:00Speaker 6: now if if somebody will be back, if nobody will
- 23:03Speaker 6: be back, I feel like it runs the gamut right now.
- 23:05Speaker 7: And I feel like a lot of defensive players are
- 23:08Speaker 7: super loyal to Drad.
- 23:09Speaker 9: I mean, there was a story that came out.
- 23:10Speaker 7: I forget who wrote it today, but I read in
- 23:12Speaker 7: the clips one of the players saying he won't be
- 23:15Speaker 7: back if Draw's not back here next year.
- 23:17Speaker 9: He wants it to work out, but Drod's his guy.
- 23:20Speaker 7: So it just speaks to the offense versus defense rift
- 23:24Speaker 7: we've kind of felt all year, but now it's was
- 23:26Speaker 7: it even defense versus offense? Or was it just like
- 23:29Speaker 7: the offense individually on an island.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Problem we talked about before the season, what would it
- 23:35Speaker 1: take for Bill Belichick to not be to not continue here?
- 23:40Speaker 1: And those words carefully because.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I say, and you know a lot of the
- 23:45Speaker 3: things that have happened.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Less the record, and it'll be more what's going on
- 23:50Speaker 1: in the locker room? Is he losing? Is the message not?
- 23:52Speaker 3: Is there a division?
- 23:53Speaker 1: Is there a division? Is there squabbling? Is there? And
- 23:56Speaker 1: this is what this story is about. Yeah, squabbles. Yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 1: I wanted more out of Juju too.
- 24:01Speaker 6: I was looking for like some kind of nugget on Juju,
- 24:03Speaker 6: Like he started to walk into the like.
- 24:05Speaker 1: And it didn't work out immediately.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Like Yeah, it's kind of like the way I feel
- 24:09Speaker 3: about like comparing the two stories from last year to
- 24:12Speaker 3: this year, I think there was more like he introduced
- 24:15Speaker 3: a lot of topics and didn't have I'm sure he
- 24:18Speaker 3: didn't get it.
- 24:19Speaker 1: He didn't.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure he didn't leave it out. He
- 24:21Speaker 3: didn't get the level of detail from the sources that
- 24:25Speaker 3: I thought he did last year, Like like Clem yelling
- 24:27Speaker 3: at Mac right right right, It kind of stated as
- 24:30Speaker 3: a fact, And I just.
- 24:31Speaker 6: Think there's a superstory there about the just decision to
- 24:34Speaker 6: let Jakobe go and to swap them for Juju.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And why and did they what was there? Ill coron
- 24:41Speaker 1: wide receiver and the money was the same. It's because
- 24:45Speaker 1: he sided with the quarterback last year.
- 24:47Speaker 6: I mean, and that's what we've you know, that's what
- 24:49Speaker 6: we've kind of speculated or talked about. But I was
- 24:52Speaker 6: thinking we were going to get some kind of insight
- 24:54Speaker 6: into that.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And this is why when you know and listen doesn't
- 24:58Speaker 3: mean I'm right, might turn out the I'm one thousand
- 25:00Speaker 3: percent wrong. But people just keep on saying, well, I
- 25:02Speaker 3: know he can still coach. I know he could still coach.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That's coaching when you can't recognize what's best for the
- 25:07Speaker 3: team might not necessarily be best for you at that
- 25:10Speaker 3: particular moment. And it's you know, everybody just says it's
- 25:15Speaker 3: all x's and o's. Well, yeah, I know, there's nobody
- 25:17Speaker 3: that's better at x's and o's than Bill. But this
- 25:20Speaker 3: is part of coaching. It's not just personnel. It's I
- 25:24Speaker 3: think if you ask Bill Belichick who he thought was
- 25:27Speaker 3: a better player for his team before they made that move,
- 25:30Speaker 3: he would have said Jakobe Myers. Yeah, but yet he's
- 25:34Speaker 3: not here for other reasons. And I don't think that's
- 25:38Speaker 3: a singular example of that. I think there are other
- 25:41Speaker 3: examples like that that I think have become more prevalent
- 25:46Speaker 3: the last couple of years.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, hip point O two.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Like at the end of the article, they do give
- 25:49Speaker 6: Bill like a little credit just in terms. I mean,
- 25:51Speaker 6: one of the source is saying, you know, every week,
- 25:54Speaker 6: he's standing up there telling us what we have to do,
- 25:56Speaker 6: that was the best, you know, and we can't do it,
- 25:58Speaker 6: and what.
- 25:59Speaker 3: We need to do and we just definitely don't do.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And I would love to know who said that, because
- 26:05Speaker 1: you know, I've heard that before. He tells you what
- 26:07Speaker 1: we're gonna what's.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Gonna happen, that's a very common.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I would I would love to know what were those
- 26:12Speaker 1: things that he said we're going to happen that happened. Yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: well the ball, I know.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I think it's about how they're going to play you
- 26:19Speaker 3: in a certain situations. Well, and how we're going to
- 26:22Speaker 3: play them, because they're going to give us this look
- 26:24Speaker 3: and then they just go out and.
- 26:25Speaker 9: It was peppers in the locker room that went on
- 26:27Speaker 9: there just.
- 26:27Speaker 6: Uh you know, go to that O nine doc where
- 26:29Speaker 6: they lost to the Jets and they intercut it of
- 26:31Speaker 6: him being like, we can't let what was that Titan's
- 26:34Speaker 6: named Dustin Keller? Dustin I forget that, we can't let
- 26:38Speaker 6: the tight end at the scene and they cut it
- 26:39Speaker 6: with like tight end up the scene.
- 26:41Speaker 3: You know, I just knew it was like it's it
- 26:43Speaker 3: was like the nine to eleven that was just that's
- 26:47Speaker 3: your sweet spot, like Dustin Keller, I haven't thought of that.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Was that a name?
- 26:50Speaker 4: Yes?
- 26:51Speaker 3: That was tight End out of Purdue.
- 26:54Speaker 6: Uh wow, we found we found that like the collection
- 26:57Speaker 6: of seven games, Keller.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Look, that's they're all just losses. I haven't done right?
- 27:03Speaker 1: All right, Still isn't sound right?
- 27:05Speaker 3: We've got a hurry to find out he played like
- 27:07Speaker 3: ten years.
- 27:08Speaker 1: There's no buys this week.
- 27:10Speaker 3: No buys in nobody playing.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, So let's get to the listeners. Eight five to
- 27:16Speaker 1: five past five hundred is the a stick and hotline
- 27:18Speaker 1: web radio at pitches dot com is the email address.
- 27:21Speaker 1: We'll start with Micah in Delaware. What's up Micah?
- 27:26Speaker 11: Hey, guys, I've been listening to you guys since twenty fifteen. Well,
- 27:30Speaker 11: listen to every show. I don't call in very often,
- 27:32Speaker 11: but this show potentially being the last one where Bill
- 27:36Speaker 11: Belichick is the head coach, I felt like I needed
- 27:38Speaker 11: to get on the record and just say, with all
- 27:42Speaker 11: the success we've had over the past whatever twenty three years,
- 27:46Speaker 11: maybe less than the past three years, you know, I'd
- 27:49Speaker 11: be happy to watch Bill coach as long as he wants.
- 27:54Speaker 11: I don't care about the record. You know, we can
- 27:57Speaker 11: have a season like this every season. He could lean
- 28:00Speaker 11: into it, roll out on his Rascal scooter and create
- 28:03Speaker 11: a Navy offense. Let's be power, I right, you know,
- 28:07Speaker 11: every player for the whole game. And the only thing
- 28:10Speaker 11: I kind of hold against him at this point is
- 28:12Speaker 11: that he didn't extend Tom Brady that same courtesy.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, yeah, okay, no thanks for they called michaeh.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I think can't do that.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I think Tom wanted to leave too. It's not
- 28:31Speaker 1: like Bill said you can't come back now, you just
- 28:33Speaker 1: can't leave it. Yeah, but uh, I think.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Tom wanted to leave, but I think
- 28:37Speaker 3: he wanted to leave because Bill didn't want him back.
- 28:39Speaker 6: Sure, I mean, I I appreciate the sentiment. It's just
- 28:42Speaker 6: it's hard. It would be hard for us to sit
- 28:43Speaker 6: here and take that point of view, and.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I just can't. I can't say, like, I can watch
- 28:48Speaker 3: this season every year and I'd be perfectly happy with that. Well,
- 28:51Speaker 3: the question is just to have him continued.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I think. I think, to Micah's point, if Tom Brady
- 28:56Speaker 1: was just not playing, well, would you be happy that?
- 29:00Speaker 1: And I got I got an email from somebody along
- 29:03Speaker 1: those same lines. They were comparing it to Ah and
- 29:07Speaker 1: I you know, I'm not going to hold up the
- 29:08Speaker 1: show looking for the email, but they compared it to
- 29:10Speaker 1: Red sticking with the Big Three too long.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that was the right move.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and he said that's what this team should have
- 29:16Speaker 1: done with Brady, right. Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 3: But at the same time, I don't think that anybody
- 29:21Speaker 3: would have been clamoring to stick with Brady if he
- 29:25Speaker 3: was playing like this, Like if Brady was playing like
- 29:29Speaker 3: mac Jones did this year, I don't think people would
- 29:31Speaker 3: have said, made me say they can't get rid of him.
- 29:32Speaker 3: They can't alle And obviously Brady would have retired, it
- 29:35Speaker 3: would have been a little bit of a different story.
- 29:37Speaker 3: But yeah, that's the difference is, Yes, Brady had shown
- 29:41Speaker 3: sides of slowing down, but he still went twelve and four.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and here's the email. It's Max and Santa Barbara.
- 29:47Speaker 1: You know I got married just south of Santa O.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Do you know? Max? Yeah? Probably not. He says, I
- 29:51Speaker 1: don't understand, especially Fred and Paul, how you could want
- 29:54Speaker 1: Bill out. Who's going to be a better replacement. I
- 29:57Speaker 1: guess whoever comes in will be done in two years
- 29:59Speaker 1: and all the media will roast Craft for firing Bill.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I know it's a what have you done for me today? World?
- 30:06Speaker 1: But seriously, Bill should stay until he decides to retire.
- 30:09Speaker 1: The youngsters there probably would have ran or out of town.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Red was loyal to the real and original Big Three
- 30:15Speaker 1: until the end. Craft should look at that example. I
- 30:18Speaker 1: don't see anyone that can come into this market and
- 30:21Speaker 1: withstand the media beating they will get. Bill has hit
- 30:24Speaker 1: on plenty of good offensive players in his years, or
- 30:27Speaker 1: have we forgotten? And any quarterback from the University of
- 30:30Speaker 1: Spoiled Children should be avoided. Thanks for this show through
- 30:33Speaker 1: my two decades of listening.
- 30:35Speaker 6: I mean, I think for me, if he could coach
- 30:38Speaker 6: the team in a bubble, I think every like you'd
- 30:41Speaker 6: have a sizeable amount of Patriots Nation being on board
- 30:43Speaker 6: of him being the coach. We've gotten plenty of calls
- 30:45Speaker 6: about just get a GM, but I think this article
- 30:48Speaker 6: illustrates how much that goes into what he does. It's
- 30:51Speaker 6: not just coaching, it's team building, and it's a toxic
- 30:55Speaker 6: environment right now and most you know, nearly every team
- 30:58Speaker 6: in professional sports with this kind of stuff going on,
- 31:00Speaker 6: it's the end, like this is this is it, this
- 31:02Speaker 6: is where they choose to turn it over.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I get it.
- 31:04Speaker 6: Like if he could coach in a bubble and not
- 31:06Speaker 6: have to worry about personnel and managing personalities and hiring
- 31:09Speaker 6: a staff and you know, constructing an offense and all
- 31:12Speaker 6: those different things that have caught up to him.
- 31:15Speaker 1: The mistakes they've compounded, and now he's.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Stuck with a team with no Pro bowlers, which I
- 31:19Speaker 6: hate saying because I don't really care about the Pro Bowl.
- 31:21Speaker 6: But I do think that that says.
- 31:26Speaker 1: If, and it's a big if if Callahan and Kai
- 31:30Speaker 1: are accurate, especially when it comes to the part about
- 31:33Speaker 1: Bill O'Brien and building his staff. If that's accurate, it
- 31:37Speaker 1: really makes it tough to bring Bill back because if
- 31:40Speaker 1: you do, if Craft says, okay, we'll bring in your bag,
- 31:43Speaker 1: that means you have you also have to tell Bill Belichick.
- 31:48Speaker 1: You can tell O'Brien what to do. You know it's
- 31:52Speaker 1: not gonna be you can come back, but you have
- 31:54Speaker 1: to let Bill O'Brien do whatever he wants. That's that well,
- 31:57Speaker 1: and it's not and it's not just offense.
- 31:59Speaker 6: First, it's the front office versus the coaching staff, I mean,
- 32:03Speaker 6: and they're throwing barbs back and forth at each other.
- 32:05Speaker 6: So pretty much every single way that you can have dysfunction, if.
- 32:09Speaker 1: You bring Bill back, In other words, you're endorsing Bill Belichick,
- 32:13Speaker 1: meaning he he you know, he's back to ruling with
- 32:17Speaker 1: an iron fist and whatever he says goes, And so
- 32:19Speaker 1: all these people that are disgruntled now it's worse for them.
- 32:23Speaker 1: So either now Bill Belichick has to clean house and
- 32:27Speaker 1: start over in those areas or get them on board,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and how.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Does he do that, or let Bill O'Brien hire an
- 32:35Speaker 6: entirely new offensive staff.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Well, that's what I mean. But then that's him saying
- 32:40Speaker 1: that I was wrong to not let him do it
- 32:42Speaker 1: this year.
- 32:42Speaker 6: And I don't think that there's anybody who believes that
- 32:46Speaker 6: Robert Kraft cajoling him into doing something is going to
- 32:49Speaker 6: work out favorably for anybody, right.
- 32:51Speaker 1: So again, it's a big if if the information in
- 32:54Speaker 1: the story is accurate. But that's what we're going on
- 32:57Speaker 1: right here, you know.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just going on the performance. And I just
- 33:03Speaker 3: looked it up. The last year of the Big Three.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Now clearly their championship days were behind them, but the
- 33:11Speaker 3: Celtics went fifty one and thirty one the last year
- 33:14Speaker 3: the Big Three was together. That wasn't the question back, no, no, no,
- 33:17Speaker 3: But people wanted them to. They thought they should make
- 33:21Speaker 3: trades because they need to rebuild this team. They let
- 33:24Speaker 3: the Big Three go to the end. That's the point
- 33:26Speaker 3: of this guy. So they were fifty one and thirty one,
- 33:29Speaker 3: They won the division, they won the first round of
- 33:31Speaker 3: the playoffs. They lost in seven in the conference semifinals,
- 33:34Speaker 3: which for Celtics purposes is not great. But so there
- 33:39Speaker 3: is kind of apples to apples.
- 33:40Speaker 1: With the Patriots.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I don't think anybody'd be looking to get rid of
- 33:43Speaker 3: Bill Belichick if the Patriots were losing in the division
- 33:45Speaker 3: round in overtime.
- 33:46Speaker 1: No, that's true.
- 33:48Speaker 3: The Patriots are like twelve games under five hundred over
- 33:50Speaker 3: the last four years.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yeah, But the problem with the Celtics back then people
- 33:55Speaker 1: were thinking obviously about the future, and it took them
- 33:57Speaker 1: a long time to get back after the three.
- 34:00Speaker 3: But my point is this guy is saying they let
- 34:03Speaker 3: Red did the right thing by letting the Big three,
- 34:05Speaker 3: and I agree, but the Big three was still playing
- 34:09Speaker 3: at a good level, not a championship level, but a
- 34:12Speaker 3: good level. This is not good, I know.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But Redhead always preached, like Bill does, a year too
- 34:16Speaker 1: early rather than a year too late.
- 34:18Speaker 3: And it wasn't a year too late.
- 34:20Speaker 1: No, but it was in terms of getting value back
- 34:22Speaker 1: to build for the three.
- 34:23Speaker 3: But they couldn't get value back, just like they couldn't
- 34:25Speaker 3: get value back for Tom Brady.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Well that wasn't the narrative back then.
- 34:29Speaker 3: But you're not going to get anything for thirty something
- 34:32Speaker 3: year old guys that are playing out the string.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I'm just telling you what people were saying.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I know, and this is why I think Red was right.
- 34:38Speaker 3: I'm trying to tell you why I think the emailer
- 34:40Speaker 3: is right for saying they the Celtics let the Big
- 34:43Speaker 3: Three play it out because it wasn't going to turn.
- 34:46Speaker 3: It wasn't like the second time around when you had
- 34:48Speaker 3: the second iteration of the Big Three and Paul Peers
- 34:51Speaker 3: and Kevin Garnett still had something to offer and you
- 34:54Speaker 3: got a good trade with Brooklyn. That was way different.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Like Bird was clearly like O done, which is why
- 35:02Speaker 3: he retired.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Gods Jason Tatum, Angela.
- 35:08Speaker 3: And that's the difference. Like if there was value there
- 35:12Speaker 3: then you could have an argument, but there really was none.
- 35:14Speaker 1: All right, has return?
- 35:21Speaker 2: Has return?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Has returned? All Right?
- 35:30Speaker 4: Evan the penultimate Evan is back. Well this is the
- 35:35Speaker 4: last one, actually not even I was thinking tomorrow I'm
- 35:38Speaker 4: gonna go.
- 35:38Speaker 1: To practice too, but ultimate was pretty good.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Though that's a word. I like, it's a good word.
- 35:44Speaker 4: This is the last time, huh, gonna cherish.
- 35:46Speaker 6: It just it will do a remix or maybe we'll
- 35:48Speaker 6: just revoke that song, give me a song again.
- 35:50Speaker 1: But that's fine.
- 35:51Speaker 4: It's okay, dude. You don't have to cry about it.
- 35:53Speaker 8: Uh.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Trent Brown was the only absence from Patriots practice today.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Myles Bryant returned. But you're missing a practice yesterday due
- 36:02Speaker 4: to illness. Trent Brown listed with an illness but hasn't
- 36:06Speaker 4: been a practice. Has been instagram living himself from a planet,
- 36:09Speaker 4: fitness somewhere or something like that. So I'm just gonna
- 36:14Speaker 4: maybe like l A l A fitness LA. I think
- 36:18Speaker 4: there's one with the hair.
- 36:20Speaker 10: Let me.
- 36:20Speaker 4: I got the picture.
- 36:21Speaker 9: It's the one I go to.
- 36:22Speaker 4: It's on the street Lifetime, lifetime, So there it is, there,
- 36:26Speaker 4: it is.
- 36:27Speaker 6: What is he doing?
- 36:31Speaker 10: So?
- 36:31Speaker 8: What like?
- 36:32Speaker 6: All right, like let's just like like let's play along.
- 36:34Speaker 6: So they don't want him here because he's sick, but
- 36:36Speaker 6: he's just going to go to a planet.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I know.
- 36:37Speaker 6: No, I'm saying, let's just play along, but he's going
- 36:39Speaker 6: to go to a planet.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Everybody.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Yeah, So Trent Brown not not a Patriots practice stretching only,
- 36:47Speaker 4: so it didn't really see much that there is anything
- 36:49Speaker 4: to see at this point. But that's that's what we got.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Okay. And outdoors outdoors pads, no pat no pads, no pads,
- 36:57Speaker 1: so there won't be a padded practices now we're done.
- 37:01Speaker 1: We're done with padded practice. Yeah. And lower field, lower
- 37:06Speaker 1: field going to have smarl. Okay, let's go.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Any any change in the mood are the players?
- 37:16Speaker 6: Is there any scuttle but about Callahan?
- 37:18Speaker 10: Was he ye?
- 37:19Speaker 6: And Doug walking around?
- 37:21Speaker 1: You know, we've got big story. Was there any peacock
- 37:27Speaker 1: feathers to be seen?
- 37:28Speaker 4: I did talk to Doug briefly. Callahan was not there.
- 37:32Speaker 4: I think they probably switch off or something like.
- 37:34Speaker 1: That, probably doing the media rounds right right.
- 37:37Speaker 4: So there's also I guess another report from Josina Anderson
- 37:44Speaker 4: that there's NFC South teams plural that have been doing
- 37:49Speaker 4: their due diligence on Bill Belichick Atlanta.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And trying to figure out if if he's a good
- 37:55Speaker 1: coach or not. What due diligence is.
- 37:57Speaker 3: I'm just telling is he really going to be available
- 38:00Speaker 3: and is he interested in coming to us?
- 38:01Speaker 1: Don't spoil the fun.
- 38:02Speaker 3: But that's the due diligence, right.
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm just telling you, and I want to pull up
- 38:06Speaker 4: the tweets, and I know this isn't practice related, but
- 38:09Speaker 4: obviously that this is what we were talking about at practice.
- 38:14Speaker 4: So someone said that. She also reported somewhere in here
- 38:18Speaker 4: that the feeling recently is that it's a mutual between
- 38:21Speaker 4: the Patriots and Bill Belichick that would like to move on.
- 38:26Speaker 12: I don't know if that was or something else, but
- 38:28Speaker 12: I divorce you.
- 38:32Speaker 4: But yeah, there's definitely some teams starting to get their
- 38:36Speaker 4: ducks in a row from maybe to maybe potentially make
- 38:39Speaker 4: a run at Bill if he is available.
- 38:41Speaker 3: And potentially you could throw New Orleans in there too,
- 38:43Speaker 3: but Atlanta and Carolina obvious. But Atlanta is definitely a
- 38:49Speaker 3: candidate to get rid of Arthur Smith, so like and
- 38:51Speaker 3: New Orleans.
- 38:53Speaker 1: So how long before Carolina does David throw a drink?
- 39:00Speaker 6: He's find three hundred thousand dollars for that. Yeah, it's uh,
- 39:05Speaker 6: would you rather see if if Bill was not here
- 39:07Speaker 6: next year? Would you rather see him not coaching or
- 39:09Speaker 6: would you rather see him.
- 39:10Speaker 1: In the league. Still, I'd rather see him not coaching
- 39:12Speaker 1: me too, enjoying life, come back for the Tom Brady
- 39:16Speaker 1: Day on June twelfth, go into the Pro Football Hall
- 39:20Speaker 1: of Fame, all of that.
- 39:21Speaker 6: Maybe maybe you should just go to Tampa. I mean,
- 39:23Speaker 6: it's like where Patriots legends, you know, to go to retire, except.
- 39:27Speaker 3: If they win, they're not going to make a change
- 39:29Speaker 3: more than I know.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I just wanted it that way, though.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I would like to see him not coach. I mean,
- 39:33Speaker 3: I think in a perfect world, all of Fred's things
- 39:36Speaker 3: happened too. I'm not I'm less concerned with that, but
- 39:39Speaker 3: I don't want to see him coach.
- 39:40Speaker 6: But I can't.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I can't deny.
- 39:41Speaker 6: And this is probably goes back to my same attitude
- 39:43Speaker 6: I had with Brady that everyone hated me for.
- 39:45Speaker 1: It's like, I can't help.
- 39:46Speaker 6: But be a little bit interested to see what he
- 39:47Speaker 6: would do if he came into an organization and you know,
- 39:50Speaker 6: just top to bottom because of another team.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We'll be covering it on this show. We'll be talking about.
- 39:55Speaker 9: Yeah, oh yeah, that's the thing too.
- 39:56Speaker 7: Like you said, I'd like to see him make joy
- 39:59Speaker 7: when he enjoy life, if not coaching, right, I don't know.
- 40:02Speaker 13: So.
- 40:02Speaker 4: Josina also reported now that this is breaking news but
- 40:05Speaker 4: that she's hearing that he's still very much motivated to
- 40:08Speaker 4: pass Don Chula and get the wins record. So retirement
- 40:14Speaker 4: I don't think is according to her at least, is
- 40:16Speaker 4: definitely not.
- 40:17Speaker 3: On either on the board. Yeah, I don't think he's
- 40:20Speaker 3: retiring either. Okay, Now I don't know if he's going
- 40:24Speaker 3: to have a job right away. I don't know what
- 40:25Speaker 3: the all the interest stuff. I'll trust her.
- 40:29Speaker 4: But the only reason why I brought up the retirement
- 40:32Speaker 4: because we were talking about this before practice, and what
- 40:35Speaker 4: if his options on the table are all complete rebuilt
- 40:40Speaker 4: right like it's Carolina Washington. I don't know if I
- 40:45Speaker 4: would count the Chargers as a complete rebuilt because they
- 40:47Speaker 4: have the quarterback, but like projects that are going to
- 40:50Speaker 4: take two three years quarterback, right, and he's seventy two
- 40:56Speaker 4: years old, like, and he's just looking at it from
- 40:58Speaker 4: that standpoint of, Hey, how quickly can I really pass
- 41:02Speaker 4: Shula with one of these teams and be I'm gonna
- 41:05Speaker 4: be seventy six years old before this team is ready
- 41:07Speaker 4: to contend.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Atlanta is a team that I think he probably feels
- 41:10Speaker 3: like he could win with right away. Yeah, they do
- 41:13Speaker 3: not have the answer at quarterback. They have a pretty
- 41:15Speaker 3: good roster. Yeah, now I know that's you know, yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 3: but oh, nothing like you know, burying the lead. But
- 41:22Speaker 3: he probably feels I can get next year's version, as
- 41:26Speaker 3: I said yesterday, of Baker Mayfield and they can win.
- 41:29Speaker 6: It's just an interesting kind of ab study, you know,
- 41:32Speaker 6: of just like for this, how does he go about
- 41:34Speaker 6: replacing the quarterback on another team? Does it correspond to
- 41:37Speaker 6: what we kind of believed of him just needing a
- 41:39Speaker 6: guy who doesn't make turnovers?
- 41:41Speaker 1: Like you know, is that what he pursues again or
- 41:43Speaker 1: is it?
- 41:44Speaker 6: Or maybe he learns from some of the mistakes that
- 41:45Speaker 6: have happened over the last couple of years and he
- 41:47Speaker 6: takes a different route.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Yeah, those things are interesting. It's gonna be fascinating. Forty
- 41:53Speaker 1: eight hours after the game, oh boy.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Yeah, that's why we should all just sleep here because
- 41:57Speaker 6: of the snow.
- 41:58Speaker 3: What's the top call situation?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Tuesday? Tuesday night five, you're going to play top golf?
- 42:05Speaker 1: We got party. Thanks for inviting me.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Oh, it's actually for Mike's brother.
- 42:09Speaker 6: It's for my brother in law who wanted nothing more.
- 42:12Speaker 3: He saw he's out.
- 42:13Speaker 1: He wanted nothing.
- 42:14Speaker 6: Cameo, Yeah, they want he wanted nothing more than a
- 42:16Speaker 6: cameo from Hardy for our family secret Sanna.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 42:20Speaker 9: I didn't see the video, but he told me the story.
- 42:22Speaker 6: Oh, and I have a video of my brother in
- 42:24Speaker 6: law opening So Hardy was like, well, why don't we
- 42:26Speaker 6: just go to top Golf my brother in law Golf's
- 42:29Speaker 6: and so I had the video of course, o'hardy, but
- 42:31Speaker 6: then I took a video of my brother in law
- 42:32Speaker 6: opening it and like, you've never seen anyone more excited,
- 42:35Speaker 6: And like when.
- 42:35Speaker 12: He heard Brillo's gonna be there too, let's go.
- 42:38Speaker 1: He's from Southie, Like yeah, he was so excited.
- 42:42Speaker 3: They love you, not like Hardy. You should have seen
- 42:45Speaker 3: it was like Brady gave him the cameo when he
- 42:47Speaker 3: found out.
- 42:49Speaker 7: It's like a thirteen year old open like Taylor Swift
- 42:51Speaker 7: tickets under the tree.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Wow cameos. You know that'd be funny.
- 42:57Speaker 6: You should do break Ivan bring up.
- 43:02Speaker 4: I think maybe might put this on the airway. Somebody
- 43:04Speaker 4: will help me. Jess is a huge Bruins fan, as
- 43:07Speaker 4: all of you probably have known. I know she she's
- 43:11Speaker 4: a huge huge Ask fan. And should I've been wanting
- 43:17Speaker 4: this pretty on her birthday, they get a cameo from
- 43:20Speaker 4: TUCA for like four years since we started dating, being
- 43:23Speaker 4: like happy bird, Can you just sign up and do it?
- 43:25Speaker 14: Like?
- 43:25Speaker 4: I don't know if he does it, I don't know
- 43:27Speaker 4: if he doesn't.
- 43:27Speaker 9: Feel like he wouldn't be a guy in mind for Sunday.
- 43:30Speaker 3: We'll talk to Hardy about it, because I know fred
- 43:32Speaker 3: Fred Toucher is pretty pretty close with Tuca.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Big Big Jess isn't listening. You might spoil it.
- 43:41Speaker 4: Probably not, That's why I said it.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Okay, John's in South Beach. Hey John, We're jealous.
- 43:49Speaker 15: Everyone.
- 43:50Speaker 3: This is Johnny South.
- 43:52Speaker 15: This is this is In fact, I was going to
- 43:55Speaker 15: call in on UH for the Christmas game, but I
- 43:58Speaker 15: literally fell asleep with phone.
- 44:00Speaker 3: In my hands, so did I only I was on air.
- 44:06Speaker 15: I wasn't gonna call in on this talk wroll show.
- 44:08Speaker 15: This is really quick, UH pop golf with Peepee the
- 44:11Speaker 15: Duce and somebody else and Hardy definitely an auction item
- 44:15Speaker 15: at a future Patriots.
- 44:19Speaker 9: Patriots.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Well, we could even invite Alexa Pano, who's the LPGA
- 44:22Speaker 1: golfer that we sponsored.
- 44:24Speaker 3: And now I'm less interested.
- 44:26Speaker 9: Go ahead, smoked by a nineteen year old.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That's cute.
- 44:30Speaker 3: You hit it to the like he makes you look
- 44:34Speaker 3: bad enough, because Hardy's pretty good, So he makes you
- 44:36Speaker 3: look bad enough a professional.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Yeah, be interesting watching.
- 44:41Speaker 3: I wouldn't feel like Grady, I'd split my pants.
- 44:44Speaker 11: It's good auction item I.
- 44:47Speaker 15: So I would estimate the Patriots need two tackles, a quarterback,
- 44:53Speaker 15: at least one edge rusher and some cornerback death and
- 44:58Speaker 15: at least one wide receivers. So what I'm about to
- 45:01Speaker 15: bring up is kind of not super relevant in that context,
- 45:05Speaker 15: but I'll bring it up anyway. I would personally be
- 45:07Speaker 15: okay with keeping Hunter Henry and Farrell Brown in drafting
- 45:11Speaker 15: his tight ends. What do you guys think about that circumstance?
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be.
- 45:17Speaker 16: Too Yeah, I think that it's not a lot out
- 45:18Speaker 16: there one or both as like a bridge to whoever
- 45:21Speaker 16: they draft, because tight end through the draft hardly ever
- 45:26Speaker 16: produces as a rookie like that.
- 45:27Speaker 4: That's a really difficult position to come in and produce
- 45:30Speaker 4: as a rookie.
- 45:31Speaker 1: You know.
- 45:31Speaker 4: The Matt Laportos are kind of those guys are outliers typically, Sam, Yeah,
- 45:36Speaker 4: I mean Sam, Why did I say Matt? I don't know.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I mean Brown, fan of that guy, great, you know,
- 45:45Speaker 1: Farrell Brown, He's proven to be a good backup tight end.
- 45:48Speaker 6: Would you say about kream Bay I really like or
- 45:53Speaker 6: Crafty he had a really good I mean maybe I'm
- 45:56Speaker 6: just judging off the other You see the game, you
- 45:58Speaker 6: guys probably didn't.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Well, Evan did, but you guys probably didn't watch the
- 46:01Speaker 3: game because evidently you don't.
- 46:03Speaker 6: Well, Paul I saw, we did see him in person
- 46:04Speaker 6: this summer.
- 46:04Speaker 17: That was.
- 46:05Speaker 6: I mean that just going off of that was. I mean,
- 46:07Speaker 6: they're both been sporadic, but they're they're good players. I mean,
- 46:09Speaker 6: you'd love to have that. I thought they were going
- 46:10Speaker 6: to do it last year the Patriots they should have got.
- 46:13Speaker 4: Draft was so that one. I really thought like, if
- 46:16Speaker 4: they're going to take a tight end this draft, it's
- 46:18Speaker 4: going to be Tucker craft. He was recruited by Alabama
- 46:23Speaker 4: when Bill O'Brien was at Alabama on an nil deal
- 46:26Speaker 4: to go from South Dakota State right South Dakota State
- 46:29Speaker 4: and to to Alabama and passed it down, turned it down,
- 46:33Speaker 4: But there was clearly already admiration from Bill O'Brien's side
- 46:36Speaker 4: for the type of player.
- 46:37Speaker 10: That he was.
- 46:38Speaker 3: And now after reading Callahan's story, we know Bill O'Brien
- 46:40Speaker 3: had no saying anything.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Yeah, right, So that that kind of that one. I
- 46:44Speaker 4: thought for sure that if they were going to take
- 46:47Speaker 4: one of the tight ends, which to Douce his point,
- 46:49Speaker 4: they should have done this last year. And you know
- 46:51Speaker 4: that that was a really really deep tight end class.
- 46:53Speaker 4: It was a really good one on Day two in
- 46:56Speaker 4: early day three as well, and they they passed on.
- 46:59Speaker 6: They took Jayden Reed too, who is a guy I loved.
- 47:03Speaker 6: I mean, he's doing really well. I think I saw
- 47:06Speaker 6: too the Ravens. Gosh, I wish I had the tweet,
- 47:08Speaker 6: but it was something like, I think they drafted six
- 47:10Speaker 6: Pro Bowlers.
- 47:11Speaker 1: They've drafted six and that like, to me, it was
- 47:14Speaker 1: just there.
- 47:14Speaker 3: It is like, that's you know, that's why I like,
- 47:16Speaker 3: you know, we've been fixated on the coach situation and
- 47:20Speaker 3: not really talked about the GM stuff as much. And
- 47:24Speaker 3: I know there's been a lot of talk about Adam
- 47:26Speaker 3: Peters and I totally get it and understand why. That's
- 47:30Speaker 3: where I think they need to go is go to
- 47:32Speaker 3: a Baltimore, go to a Philly, go to a San Francis,
- 47:35Speaker 3: go to one of the teams that you feel like
- 47:36Speaker 3: has done a really good job of building a roster
- 47:39Speaker 3: with homegrown players, and is that the guy and I
- 47:41Speaker 3: can't think of his name now, it's Joe Hertzig or
- 47:45Speaker 3: something like that from Baltimore. He's like an assistant GM
- 47:49Speaker 3: SO and a lot of people have said that he's
- 47:51Speaker 3: going to be a you know, a hot commodity in
- 47:54Speaker 3: this hiring cycle, I would find one of these guys
- 47:57Speaker 3: that has a track record of being able to build
- 48:00Speaker 3: through the drafts, comes from a place that does. That's
- 48:05Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. My guy Burganzi from Kansas City.
- 48:08Speaker 4: He's from Everett.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, well that I'm a little I'm a little biased,
- 48:11Speaker 3: but I'm just saying like if he wanted, But also
- 48:14Speaker 3: I also know the family a little bit, so it's
- 48:16Speaker 3: not exactly like I'm unbiased. I went to high school
- 48:20Speaker 3: with his uncle. Okay, people know that, I've said it
- 48:24Speaker 3: on the air.
- 48:24Speaker 4: I want to come here.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Ryan's in Colorado. What's up, Ryan?
- 48:28Speaker 13: Yes, Hey, guys, I was just calling real quick to
- 48:32Speaker 13: see about what you thought on the Patriots trying to
- 48:35Speaker 13: trade Bill Belichick while the Rooney rules in place, doesn't
- 48:39Speaker 13: that seem like kind of impossible nowadays to do that.
- 48:42Speaker 11: I'll take it off here thinks good.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think it is. I think it's a
- 48:47Speaker 3: little bit different. I think, yeah, you know, i'd have
- 48:50Speaker 3: to go back and look at the details of what
- 48:52Speaker 3: Denver just did you know, did they have to you know,
- 48:55Speaker 3: interview people before they made that move? I mean, yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 3: I mean I guess all these things are yeah in play.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Patty's an what's up, Patty?
- 49:09Speaker 18: What's up?
- 49:10Speaker 15: Guys?
- 49:12Speaker 8: That last color just kind of sole my question.
- 49:15Speaker 1: But they're not trading Bill, so it doesn't really matter.
- 49:21Speaker 3: The news breaking news.
- 49:25Speaker 19: I know that Belichick said that he wanted to leave
- 49:27Speaker 19: this team at a good spot. And what's what's all
- 49:30Speaker 19: these reports coming out? I mean, where where do you
- 49:34Speaker 19: think this team stands if he's gone? I know, I
- 49:37Speaker 19: know we're gonna have to like come through all the
- 49:40Speaker 19: all potential coaches and and move on from Bill. But
- 49:44Speaker 19: I mean, to me, it seems like he's kind of
- 49:47Speaker 19: leaving this and exile.
- 49:50Speaker 1: You know. Let's let's look at you know, a long
- 49:52Speaker 1: time ago, and it's it's a good topic, Patty. Let's
- 49:54Speaker 1: look at the last time the Patriots changed coach Pete
- 49:57Speaker 1: Carroll to Bill Belichick. Are the Patriots in a better
- 50:00Speaker 1: but now two thousand and four than they were two
- 50:05Speaker 1: thousand when twenty.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Four, I think they're much worse spot because that I
- 50:11Speaker 4: agree that Tea had well, that team also had I
- 50:14Speaker 4: mean than that, Yeah, I mean I was like eight.
- 50:19Speaker 4: But I'm trying to.
- 50:20Speaker 3: McInnis law Johnson.
- 50:24Speaker 4: Ken because that was like the whole thing, right, was
- 50:27Speaker 4: that a lot of the players in the one team
- 50:29Speaker 4: were actually Parcels players.
- 50:33Speaker 1: To a Super Bowl.
- 50:34Speaker 3: That defense was great that year. We all remember it.
- 50:36Speaker 3: That defense was largely drafted by Parcels, right, So they
- 50:40Speaker 3: don't have been tierry.
- 50:41Speaker 4: I will say, though, like you know, writing Southern first
- 50:43Speaker 4: player for tomorrow on this their the Patriots defense now
- 50:48Speaker 4: has a lot is a lot, has a lot of
- 50:50Speaker 4: pieces like they do, and they they still play really
- 50:54Speaker 4: good defense and not I would say like modern defense.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Like I think that that's one thing that they have
- 51:00Speaker 4: innovated and they have evolved. You know, Duson and I
- 51:03Speaker 4: have been looking at the next gen the dime package
- 51:05Speaker 4: for all season long. You know there they play a
- 51:09Speaker 4: lot of lighter personnel, a lot more now than they
- 51:12Speaker 4: might have done five years ago when they had high
- 51:15Speaker 4: Tower and you know Bentley and Collins and all those
- 51:18Speaker 4: guys playing a ton of snaps. They they've gotten lighter,
- 51:21Speaker 4: they've gotten faster. They they are up on the schemes
- 51:25Speaker 4: and nexs and O's part of it too. So it's
- 51:28Speaker 4: not that defense. But I think that's the defensive side
- 51:31Speaker 4: of the ball now, I don't think is broken by
- 51:33Speaker 4: any means. Like I think that they have their building
- 51:35Speaker 4: towards something on that side.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and you know, offense wasn't great in
- 51:40Speaker 1: two thousand, but they did have Bledsoe. They had Troy Brown,
- 51:43Speaker 1: they had Kevin Fuck you know, they had a decent line,
- 51:46Speaker 1: you know, I.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Mean, and if you really want to take it out,
- 51:49Speaker 3: they had Terry Glenn still too.
- 51:51Speaker 1: That was before.
- 51:54Speaker 3: Two thousand and one was the year right he went
- 51:56Speaker 3: a wall, right, So they had more talent. But now
- 52:00Speaker 3: they also had a tough cap situation in an era
- 52:03Speaker 3: before people make fun of me, in an era where
- 52:06Speaker 3: the cap mattered. It was much different then, and they
- 52:09Speaker 3: had some cap issues with like remember Roucie and Lane.
- 52:14Speaker 3: Ted Johnson was pretty high paid, highly paid, so yeah,
- 52:18Speaker 3: financially there was some constraints. And I think that's what
- 52:21Speaker 3: Bill immediately did, was he sort of stripped the roster
- 52:24Speaker 3: down a little bit, but they had much more talent.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Bruce Armstrong was on that team. I think Ben Coates
- 52:32Speaker 3: was on that team.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so they were.
- 52:34Speaker 3: He might have let go of Ben Coates. That might
- 52:36Speaker 3: have been the year he let Ben Coates.
- 52:37Speaker 1: So I would say that they were in a better
- 52:39Speaker 1: spot in two thousand than they are they will be
- 52:42Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four. Yeah, he went to Baltimore and one.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it might have been. Yeah, so scratch Ben Coats.
- 52:47Speaker 3: But I know Bruce came back for one more year. Now.
- 52:51Speaker 3: They weren't real happy with him that year. I do
- 52:53Speaker 3: remember talking to.
- 52:54Speaker 1: People fat people's too fat.
- 52:56Speaker 3: They didn't felt like they didn't feel like he was.
- 52:59Speaker 3: They brought him back as sort of one of those guys,
- 53:01Speaker 3: you know, like we need a veteran presence, and he
- 53:05Speaker 3: didn't really fill that role very well.
- 53:06Speaker 4: I guess Penn Coates is one patriot from the past
- 53:09Speaker 4: that I wish that I like had more of a
- 53:12Speaker 4: memory of watching him watch like obviously John Hannah, like
- 53:17Speaker 4: those guys like are way past.
- 53:18Speaker 1: He was gronky.
- 53:19Speaker 3: I mean, Coats was very good.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Like I remember him like like vaguely, but not enough
- 53:26Speaker 4: to like tell you what he was great at or
- 53:28Speaker 4: he was and.
- 53:29Speaker 1: He was the security blanket for Bledsoe.
- 53:31Speaker 3: But he made big plays to run after catch.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, his probably slowed down a little bit
- 53:38Speaker 1: and they started calling him for opish. Then he went
- 53:41Speaker 1: over to the Ravens for a little bit. Didn't too
- 53:44Speaker 1: much there.
- 53:46Speaker 6: Just real quick, we saw Lawrence guy, Matthew Slater and
- 53:50Speaker 6: David Andrews at the podium today and I couldn't help
- 53:52Speaker 6: but be like, is this it for these three guys?
- 53:54Speaker 4: Like, I mean, Matthew Slater was on the radio the
- 53:57Speaker 4: other day and basically said it without saying yeah.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, he was saying.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Yeah but bait. I can't remember the exact quote. I'll
- 54:05Speaker 4: get it in a second, but it was.
- 54:06Speaker 17: It was.
- 54:07Speaker 4: You might as well have just said I'm retiring after.
- 54:08Speaker 1: This game, all right, We'll let Pauly uh, we'll be
- 54:11Speaker 1: back right after once he's right.

- 55:05Speaker 21: of the U Halftime Show, joined by Faith. Let's go
- 55:08Speaker 21: and let's start with some trivia like we always do, right,
- 55:11Speaker 21: So we got question one to Mario Douglas now holds
- 55:15Speaker 21: the record for the most receptions and receiving yards by
- 55:18Speaker 21: Patriots rookie receiver under Bill Belichick with blank receptions in
- 55:22Speaker 21: five hundred and forty eight yards.
- 55:24Speaker 1: All right, so how many receptions is yeah? Question two?
- 55:29Speaker 21: If the Patriots win this weekend against the Jets, how
- 55:32Speaker 21: many wins in a row? Will it be a lot?
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yeah? There you go.
- 55:37Speaker 21: And question three, the Patriots blank overall victories over the
- 55:42Speaker 21: Jets are the second most over any single opponent. How
- 55:44Speaker 21: many victories?
- 55:45Speaker 17: Is this?
- 55:46Speaker 9: All right?
- 55:47Speaker 21: So send those answers in the webrado Patriots dot com. Matt,
- 55:49Speaker 21: do we even have any T shirts left? I'm sure
- 55:53Speaker 21: there are, so Okay, Well you're gonna get something, so
- 55:56Speaker 21: send your answers in. But guys, it is playoffs season almost.
- 56:00Speaker 21: We got one more week and usually these week eighteen
- 56:03Speaker 21: games are fun, you know, like the Pats and Chests
- 56:05Speaker 21: don't have anything to play for, so we're gonna see
- 56:07Speaker 21: hopefully some trip plays players.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Players are playing for Jobs's.
- 56:10Speaker 21: What we're hearing for.
- 56:11Speaker 10: Coaches are coaching for jobs. Players are playing for jobs exactly.
- 56:14Speaker 21: But we're gonna we're gonna talk about some NFL playoff
- 56:17Speaker 21: matchups and potential scenarios. So let me rip through what
- 56:21Speaker 21: if things stay as they are, if the playoff start today,
- 56:24Speaker 21: here's what it is, so wild card or sorry. With
- 56:28Speaker 21: the week one bye for playoffs, we got the Ravens
- 56:31Speaker 21: all right, well deserved Lamar.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think you should.
- 56:34Speaker 21: Be the MVP. I think mccaffe should be the MVP.
- 56:36Speaker 21: But that's a different conversation. Quite so for the super
- 56:40Speaker 21: wild card weekend, we got Browns versus the Jags, all right,
- 56:44Speaker 21: that's the five and four seed, Bills versus the Chiefs,
- 56:48Speaker 21: that's the six and three. That'd be a good game.
- 56:50Speaker 21: And Colt Dolphins all right. That's for the AFC NFC
- 56:55Speaker 21: forty nine ers with the week one by Eagles at
- 56:58Speaker 21: Bucks for the fifth and the fourth with the Eagles
- 57:01Speaker 21: being the fifth seed, ye Rams at the Lions, and
- 57:06Speaker 21: that's the six and three, and then we got the
- 57:08Speaker 21: Packers at the Cowboys. All right, So faith, what are
- 57:12Speaker 21: some potential scenarios this weekend? Who's getting knocked out if
- 57:17Speaker 21: things go all right?
- 57:18Speaker 10: So the biggest matchup is Texans Colts because that is
- 57:21Speaker 10: literally win and in if you lose, your going home.
- 57:23Speaker 10: It's basically an early round of the playoffs for both
- 57:27Speaker 10: of those teams. And now that we've got c J.
- 57:29Speaker 10: Stroud actually healthy back playing. I think the Colts certain
- 57:33Speaker 10: I think Minshew and the Colts have quite the task
- 57:36Speaker 10: ahead before they can just lock into the playoffs.
- 57:38Speaker 21: The taxes with Tank Dell, Yeah it was scary. Yes,
- 57:42Speaker 21: that's a separate issue too. Why you're sending your number
- 57:44Speaker 21: one receiver as a full back on the play.
- 57:46Speaker 1: That's how we got hurt.
- 57:47Speaker 10: Yeah, side note, But yeah, it's literally, you know, a
- 57:51Speaker 10: matter of win and in. I always get confused when
- 57:54Speaker 10: it's like, all right, well if you lose, but so
- 57:56Speaker 10: and so wins and someone beats somebody and someone else
- 57:58Speaker 10: beats another team, then you might have a chance. But
- 58:01Speaker 10: as simple as it is, if they win, they're in.
- 58:03Speaker 10: And then of course you've got Pittsburgh. They have a
- 58:08Speaker 10: lot of scenarios that could possibly happen. They're like ties
- 58:11Speaker 10: could be included in it, but they could still get
- 58:15Speaker 10: into which is crazy because I feel like they've struggled
- 58:17Speaker 10: all season really just had a hard time at the
- 58:20Speaker 10: quarterback position. But they could win it in which is crazy.
- 58:25Speaker 21: So then another crazy one and this is the Dolphins
- 58:28Speaker 21: kind of did this to themselves. Is yeah, the Bills
- 58:30Speaker 21: versus Dolphins that's for the two seed, right, yeah, two seed,
- 58:34Speaker 21: And I mean if Buffalo, Buffalo has been hot recently,
- 58:38Speaker 21: them getting home field advantage for the first couple of rounds,
- 58:41Speaker 21: first couple of games is scary.
- 58:43Speaker 10: Well, you know, if they win, you know, they obviously
- 58:45Speaker 10: clinched the AFC East. Yeah, but if they lose, they
- 58:48Speaker 10: could not make the playoffs, which which is like.
- 58:50Speaker 21: I would I would love that, Sorry, I would, I
- 58:53Speaker 21: would love that. All right, what's some NFC stuff we
- 58:57Speaker 21: got going on?
- 58:58Speaker 10: All right, some NFC stuff. We've got Saints Falcons, which
- 59:02Speaker 10: is interesting because right now there's two teams sitting at
- 59:05Speaker 10: eight and eight, which is the Bucks and the Saints.
- 59:08Speaker 10: That situation is interesting because you know, honestly, up until
- 59:12Speaker 10: New Year's Eve, the Saints had the upper hand in that,
- 59:15Speaker 10: but then they lost.
- 59:16Speaker 3: To the Bucks.
- 59:16Speaker 10: So now it's split between the two of them. They're
- 59:19Speaker 10: both eight and eight. The Saints are playing the Falcons,
- 59:22Speaker 10: which technically speaking they should win, but who knows any
- 59:25Speaker 10: given Sunday, right, and then you've got the Bucks playing
- 59:27Speaker 10: the Panthers, which again the Bucks should win, but I
- 59:31Speaker 10: don't know so, and.
- 59:32Speaker 21: Then you also got throwing draft position for all of
- 59:34Speaker 21: this too, yea, which is crazy fun. Oh no, So
- 59:38Speaker 21: let's let's let's before we go in, let's say who
- 59:40Speaker 21: do not want to see get in aside from the Bills,
- 59:42Speaker 21: because like we nobody want to see the Bills get in,
- 59:44Speaker 21: Like like, for example, I don't want the Falcons to
- 59:46Speaker 21: get in there, like if they win, they clinched the
- 59:48Speaker 21: NFC South with the win plus the Tampa lost, but
- 59:50Speaker 21: like I don't want to see Desmond Ritter get stanked
- 59:53Speaker 21: like I've seen.
- 59:54Speaker 1: That all year.
- 59:55Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, no, Falcons, I don't want in. It's tough
- 1:00:00Speaker 10: with It's tough with the with the Jags too, like
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: obviously they've pulled things together here toward the end, like
- 1:00:07Speaker 10: they had a rough patch for a while. But I
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: don't know, nine and seven, I don't really see them
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: putting up that good of a fight squeezing in. I
- 1:00:14Speaker 10: mean that the same record as the Falcons, and like
- 1:00:17Speaker 10: Trevor Lawrence has been injured, he's been pushing through it.
- 1:00:20Speaker 10: I don't know if that's going to be the best.
- 1:00:22Speaker 21: So so before we wrap up, I guess we'll do
- 1:00:24Speaker 21: Super Bowl picks a different time. Let's wait for the
- 1:00:26Speaker 21: playoffs for this, Okay, for this one. Let's say, pick
- 1:00:30Speaker 21: pick any team that you want to make a run,
- 1:00:32Speaker 21: like an under underdog run or like a dream, a
- 1:00:35Speaker 21: dream super Bowl matchup.
- 1:00:36Speaker 10: I mean, I feel like a dream. And I think
- 1:00:38Speaker 10: we were talking about this earlier was Lions Browns Could
- 1:00:41Speaker 10: you imagine?
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: In Vegas? Could you like?
- 1:00:43Speaker 21: And it's also the Browns with Flacco just.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: The o, which is hilarious.
- 1:00:47Speaker 21: He's been he's been chucking the rock. So I yeah,
- 1:00:50Speaker 21: I want the I want the lines.
- 1:00:51Speaker 10: But technically speaking, I've heard a lot of talk about
- 1:00:53Speaker 10: the whole like super Bowl colors and the logos being
- 1:00:57Speaker 10: the match up.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: The script.
- 1:00:58Speaker 10: So I think it's gonna be forty nine ers, right,
- 1:01:00Speaker 10: purple and red.
- 1:01:01Speaker 21: We want that.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I've seen that already. I don't want that. I don't
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: want that.
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: I mean, I want Lamar to get it rid.
- 1:01:07Speaker 21: But I think the Lions their time.
- 1:01:09Speaker 10: So wait question for you, how early do you think
- 1:01:11Speaker 10: the Cowboys are out of the playoffs?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Where are they are right now? Their home?
- 1:01:16Speaker 10: But if they lose, don't they I'm not sure exactly
- 1:01:20Speaker 10: where their home field advantage.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I think I think it depends.
- 1:01:22Speaker 21: I think it really depends if they get home field advantage,
- 1:01:24Speaker 21: if they get field for the first round, then they'll they'll.
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: Lose in the whenever they're away, I think, yeah.
- 1:01:30Speaker 21: Yeah, But that being said, if they somehow are away
- 1:01:32Speaker 21: for the first round, that might.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: Be the We'll wait for Steven and yeah, he's gonna
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: be so exciting, but.
- 1:01:38Speaker 21: Faith, thank you, we're gonna we're gonna keep running this
- 1:01:41Speaker 21: throughout the off season. So I don't know if anybody
- 1:01:43Speaker 21: rode in the mat, but if they do, Matt, let
- 1:01:44Speaker 21: me know what they want to talk about. And let's
- 1:01:46Speaker 21: get back to the show.
- 1:01:50Speaker 22: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, replacements
- 1:01:55Speaker 22: were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 1:01:58Speaker 22: everybody could focus on the prof opening night FedEx where
- 1:02:02Speaker 22: now it's next for residential delivery.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Only and now great moments in.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: History.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: My point was like Alex is just saying that you
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: can't You couldn't imagine to an eight and either could have.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: That's I couldn't have either, because I thought that at
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: the very worst, they would just be.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: To think I'm really I am negative and I don't
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: ever think of that.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: But I don't I don't think you don't hurt that.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: But but you said seven wins was their ceiling, right, Yeah,
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: And I don't necessarily disagree with that. They're not going
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: to get to seven wins.
- 1:02:35Speaker 14: But when if everything fell into in other words, if
- 1:02:38Speaker 14: they stayed healthy, everything fell in place. But but everybody
- 1:02:41Speaker 14: was perfect close, the other teams got hurt. You didn't like,
- 1:02:44Speaker 14: maybe you could win seven games. That's how I felt
- 1:02:47Speaker 14: about this team.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: I don't, but I don't necessarily disagree with that. If
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: they're two and eight, Paul, like there, I thought the
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: win four games, that's going to be a lot.
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: I didn't think the offense could get worse than.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: I didn't think that I would. I would, That's the
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: whole side on that. I didn't think the offense could
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: be worse.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Than it was.
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: And my question is just I think we all kind
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: of agreed that, like six, I feel like we said
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: a lot.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Six six wins.
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: Feels like the floor for this team. Like he's too
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: good a coach to not get them six wins. Why
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: aren't we the six wins this year?
- 1:03:14Speaker 17: You know?
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I would have said, it's like, see I would.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: I know you think I'm probably lying, but I'm not
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: either for it because I think there's some teams that
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: they could be just like the last couple of games
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: they played, they could have won.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: That would be a big news.
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: Dake.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: That's another great moment from.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: All right back here? What's that? That music usually says
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: that there's something coming? No, I missed it?
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: What yeah? He did? Was it good?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Was it funny?
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: I didn't listen, but he did tell us that it
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: was going on?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: All right, what happened to?
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: He's embarrassed to eat it on camera.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: He wants only Paul again.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I get that, all right? So continuing our discussion, eight
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: five five patch five hundred is the ag.
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: You just throw out the last bite like that? What's
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: wrong with you?
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Web radio at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: We're gonna do picks a little later, so we gotta hurry.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: But people are emailing and people are calling and they
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: want to be involved. This is a this is heady
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: times for the Patriots. I mean, you know what going
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: on here?
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: I mean, what could happen Tuesday Show? Between now and
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: Tuesday show, A lot.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Everything happened or nothing.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: Our lives could be either drastically different on Monday or
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: the absolute same.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Well, I was like, who my life isn't drastically different
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I mean, whatever Patriots are work, it'll be drastically Well
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: maybe you're right, you're not wrong, Bill Belichick is. It's
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Robert Craft has announced that Bill Belichick is returning. His
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: first action is to blow up the content of there
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: you go.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: He's gonna he's gonna take over hosting duties of.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: PATRIOTSKWA than I thought, what was that thing back in
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: the day when they thought that, Like, like I for
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: a second there, I was like, Fred, people are gonna
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: think that you're like reporting something right now over there?
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: And then.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: We had trivia during the halftime show. And here are
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: the questions, Paul. The Mario Douglas now holds the record
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: for the most receptions and receiving yards by a rookie
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: receiver under Bill Belichick. How many receptions does he have?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: That's correct?
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: Sorry, I mean, like that's not fair.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Bryan, look at this. Brian Bailett's is the winner. Paul,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: you can't answer this. But who had the record for
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: rookie receptions as a Patriot prior.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: Wide receiver or wide receiver Aaron Dobson.
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: Patriots are under under belichicker over, can I mistaken?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: You're out?
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: You're out on you guess one who who?
- 1:05:52Speaker 10: I know?
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: You know it Belichicker.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Just in general, it was not under Bill Belichick.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Oh oh, in jail a rookie record for receptions, not
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: under Bellichi, not.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Under Bell anyone in Patriots franchise.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Then I don't necessarily know the Terry Glenn.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Terry Glenn is correct.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: The one under Belichick is Dion Branch.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: That's what I was thinking of.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Branch.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: Dobson had the yards record before tomorrow.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: If the Patriots win this weekend, how many wins in
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: a row will it be against the Jets? Sixteen sixteen, sixteenth.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Colin Mayo got that. And finally, the Patriots overall victories
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: against the Jets are the second most over any single opponent.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: How many wins do they have over the Jets?
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: One hundred and sixty seven seventy two.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Paul's close. Anyone to want to price prices right that eighty.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: Three, one eighty two.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: No, seventy four. Tyler and Houston got that only two off,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: So yeah, you were close.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: I don't like the one the price. I don't like
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: the ones you can just p raf. You know, you
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: just look at up a prof Football reference and then
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: you well.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: The Patriots have been around for how many years sixty
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: five at this point, sixty sixty four, right, and so
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: you figure one a year that's gets to the sixty
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: four and then some years they got to So you know,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: did the math that seems low? Then for the Jets,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Oh maybe you know, well a lot of ye they
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: swept the Jets.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Probably we're pretty good against the Patriots, like in thet.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I gotcha all right, back to the calls on the
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Ace ticket hut line. We can go to Dan in
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: New Jersey. What's up Dan?
- 1:07:30Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:07:30Speaker 18: Hi everyone. I'm hoping I can get used take on
- 1:07:34Speaker 18: something I saw on on Sports Fi Mike this morning.
- 1:07:39Speaker 18: So Evan Devin Cohen said his solutions is potential power
- 1:07:43Speaker 18: sharing arrangement where Bill you know, keeps the coaching rains,
- 1:07:48Speaker 18: but I guess maybe relinquishes some of the GM duties.
- 1:07:52Speaker 18: And he brought up three names from from the past.
- 1:07:55Speaker 18: Some of these guys maybe not be available because they're
- 1:07:58Speaker 18: in a contract or maybe the game has passed them by,
- 1:08:01Speaker 18: but the names were Scott Pioli and uh Tom Demetrov,
- 1:08:07Speaker 18: And I just wondered, if you know of the three,
- 1:08:10Speaker 18: are there any of them that you could be working
- 1:08:14Speaker 18: for and specifically you know, being able to develop a
- 1:08:19Speaker 18: high powered offense and also to be able to kind
- 1:08:22Speaker 18: of challenge Bill over personnel to Well, that's you.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Know, all three of them have history with Bill. Yeah.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: The question is if they come in, would they have
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: equal power with Bill? Would Bill acquiesced to them? Sometimes?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: Well, Nick Cassari is not going anywhere. No, he's building Houston. Right,
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: that one's off the tables.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: But the theory here was the GM would be above Bill, right, Yeah.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Scott Pioli hasn't been in it in ten years?
- 1:08:48Speaker 10: Right?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Thanks?
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: Dan Thomas Dimitrov isn't.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: I'm not not for me, but like yes, like that,
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: the same thank for him though he hasn't been for
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: a couple of less time than him. And again in Atlanta, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: but he was.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: He was the GM of the Falcons when they went
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: to the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Well Puli was there,
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: Oh okay, with them, they were together. I guess maybe
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: it's where my head is that at.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: But I don't.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I'm with you a larger point. I just don't see
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: someone who came into the league under Bill now being
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: above Bill and Bill being able to acquiesce to that.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: I think the biggest problem too on top of that
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: is just like you're still giving the players two Bill
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: to coach, right, So like if you draft now, some
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: people go to the extreme and say, like if you
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: draft Marvin Harrison Junior and he fumbles and Bill's going
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: to bench him for the rest of the year. I
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: don't think he's going to.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Do that, not the rest of the year, but the
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: rest of the game.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: But in terms of like style and play in how
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: they play, and the type of player and the mold
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: like all that stuff is, it's still all gonna just
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: if he's not a two hundred and fifty pound linebacker,
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: is Bill going to play him? Or is he going
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: to move him to safety? Like you know, it's gonna
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: be the same thing.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Yep. Like I said, you know, if the Callahan information
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: is correct, if Bill comes back, either he's gonna have
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: to have done something we doubt he's going to do,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: which is give up more control, or a lot of
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: people are going to be unhappy. Yeah you know. Oh man,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: So let's go to Bill in DC. What's up? Bill?
- 1:10:21Speaker 17: So, Fred I want to respectfully disagree with you on
- 1:10:25Speaker 17: your idea about like going up with all your draft
- 1:10:28Speaker 17: capital to get the guy.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Uh oh in terms of quarterback. Okay, yeah, and.
- 1:10:34Speaker 17: I get why you're saying it, right Like you're thinking,
- 1:10:37Speaker 17: you know, here's someone you're convinced is a good choice,
- 1:10:40Speaker 17: and you're optimizing for that future, right, Like this kid's
- 1:10:44Speaker 17: going to be nice as a chance he'll be a
- 1:10:46Speaker 17: franchise quarterback, so it's worth spending a lot of draft
- 1:10:49Speaker 17: capital to get that person. My concern is that sometimes
- 1:10:54Speaker 17: the less lately future happens, and then in that case,
- 1:10:57Speaker 17: you've made a disastrous decision that has catastrophic consequences, like
- 1:11:01Speaker 17: Evan keeps pointing back to Carolina. So given the uncertainty
- 1:11:06Speaker 17: about drafting and draftical quarterbacks, I would rather see a
- 1:11:10Speaker 17: robust decision that works.
- 1:11:12Speaker 18: Kind of no matter what happens. Like most of the futures.
- 1:11:15Speaker 17: I'd like to see the pacers to good scouting, make
- 1:11:18Speaker 17: their best choices with the draft capital, except it's going
- 1:11:21Speaker 17: to be a hit the misses, and then over time
- 1:11:23Speaker 17: do what you guys have always said as a problem
- 1:11:26Speaker 17: to here, build up their roster, do that draft careful
- 1:11:28Speaker 17: the overtime over.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, but that's what Fred wants to do too well.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: No, I get what he's saying. Not my point. If
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: you know, particularly to the quarterback, if you believe he's
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: the guy, then do what you have to do to
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: get him. Yeah, because he's not going to be there
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: next year.
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: You wouldn't make this argument for another position either. No,
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: I mean this is just as much, not as much.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: No, not as much.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: And I'm somewhere in between the two philosophies.
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: But I just.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: I think that there's notion that quarterback is just so
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: much different in terms of you can't do it for quarterback.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: It's just too risky and like it didn't hurt the
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: forty nine ers, right, No, But my point is, yeah,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: my point is a little different than that. It's just that,
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: like to Fred's idea of targeting a guy and moving
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: up to get him.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: If you have to. No, But like I'm also saying, reaching,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: So you guys were talking about Penix. If let's say
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: the Patriots had number three, I don't care what the
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: rest of the league thinks where he should be draft.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: If I believe that Penix is my guy, I'll take
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: him at three. I don't want to take the risk
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: of losing him because I believe in him.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: I just watched team after team after team reach on
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: the quarterback and it happens every single year, and it
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: always back.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: And I saw a year after, but it doesn't always
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: back right then it's bad, Like obviously what happens San
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Francisco is back, Like you don't want to invest, you
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: don't want to invest extra picks. It was not bad
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: when Kansas City did it and they targeted Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: But did it at a different part of the draft,
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: right like ten, Yeah, but that's a different party.
- 1:13:13Speaker 14: Get they get up a first and a third to
- 1:13:15Speaker 14: switch spots with you, you're going like five to one,
- 1:13:18Speaker 14: it's going to be a much different You've got to
- 1:13:20Speaker 14: fly over going Zamboni.
- 1:13:22Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: But but to me, it's not about the what you
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: give up, it's about do you hit.
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: Like That's where I agree with Fred, Like if you miss,
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: I don't care if I don't give up, Like if
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: I miss, I miss, and not like San Francisco I missed.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Like it hurts even when you're San Francisco. It hurts
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: to to make a trade for the number three pick
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: and miss. It's it's not good, I think, But like
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: you have to have strength in your conviction the same way,
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: but the same way that the caller is talking about.
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: I want to just do it by trusting the safe
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: way of scouting and drafting and developing. Yes, that's what
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: That's what Fred's doing, right, He's scouting, drafting and developing
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: the guy that he target. And I'm trusting my scouts,
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: like you can't trust them that it could be wrong.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: That's why, Like, I don't think Devon's wrong like that.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: That's why I'm in the middle here. But I just
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: think you're doing the same thing, only you're increasing the
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: risk by trading chicks. Like it's still reliant on you
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: getting it right.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: I feel like you almost need a personal connection with
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: that court, like you have to have above and beyond information,
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: not just like we just love his tape that much.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: It's almost like to do that. You're like, it's the psychological,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: it's the medicals, it's knowing his group of friends, it's
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: knowing his coaching staff, it's blood type. Yeah, the Patriots
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: in a few instances, I think.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Off the rails know what that means.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: But the air.
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: I think the biggest thing, though, is like the one
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: thing draft draft philosophy that the Patriots. A here too
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: that I actually agree with is the is teering players, Like,
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: if you really feel that Caleb Williams is so far
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: and above the rest of this class, then I can
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: maybe get on board with what Fred is saying. The
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: problem that I have is is what's the difference at
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: the end of the day between Drake may, Michael Pennix,
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: Jayden Daniels.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: So this is this is this is different.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I agree with him. If the way you are, then
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I agree. But if my staff says that we have
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: a chance to get Caleb Williams, he is far and
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: above everybody else, we have the shot. Take the shot,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Take the shot. As Eminem says, I just think that
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: you have one at the end of the only have
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: one shot.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: I think at the end of the day, it's it's.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: Falling in love with a player like that so much reference.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: His name is Matt And in the middle of the
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: sentiment was.
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: Right, you only get one shot. Do not miss this time?
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Right? Don't mis spaghetti.
- 1:16:05Speaker 12: That I was about to just spit it all out
- 1:16:10Speaker 12: of us right now, like word for word.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: I'm sure he could do it.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Nervous.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: Sorry, that's okay. I just think that the worst thing
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: that teams do is fall in love with the prospect.
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: It's the worst thing to do when it's it has
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: to be this guy. We can't if we don't come
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: out of the draft with Caleb Williams, the whole off
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: seasons of failure and I but.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Your but you're yeah, but your philosophy of tears I
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: would wholeheardly agree with. And I think there probably is
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: some truth to that in this this particular group of quarterbacks.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: You could probably pull a lot of guys around the
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: NFL with these four guys and maybe get some different answers.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: So that's fine. I don't think that you would have
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: pulled a lot of guys and gotten different answers with
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: like Andrew Luck, Okay, And I think that's what we're
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: talking about.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Like I don't, I don't.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I probably don't think he is. And though I like
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: him more than everybody else, I don't really think that
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: he is in that category. But that's the difference if
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: you if you just tear it up, then absolutely you
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: don't do the fred thing. Like if I'm if I'm
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: gonna be happy with Drake may or Jayden Daniels, I
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: don't need to do you know a bold movie before it.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: But if I only think one of those guys is
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: going to be a good player and I really need
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: that player, I just think I have to.
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Look at it to like, so I take the first
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: two picks in the draft. For example, you could have
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: you know, Jaden Daniels and the left tackle from Washington fought, Now,
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: who's gonna be a pretty good player people think, Or
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: you could have Joe All and Michael Pennix at the
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: top of the second round, right, and you have to
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: look at, like, which which bucket would you rather?
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: If you're willing to do that, then obviously you don't
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: think that the quarterback is that good or that much better.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: And I would just argue that I think that that's
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: that's generally largely a Patriots philosophy that has not done
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: them well.
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: But I also think there's context, like the rest of
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: the league might get medical reports on Penix that he
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: is his knees are ticking time bomb, and that's why
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: he doesn't end up going in the first round, but
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: at the top of the second round, that's going to
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: be worth the risk. Like it just like we were
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: talking about Gronk, you know, yesterday, But that's not worth
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: the risk in the top ten, right.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: But I would say, and this is funny, Fred and
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: I used to argue about this at the time, like,
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: I think the Gronk pick at the time, and this
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: is not revisions history, because Andy was on the show
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: at the time and Andy that it's probably the singular
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: prospect that he loved the most. Yeah, that's true, but
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: he loved them, and we were all on board with
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: the Gronk pick. We thought it was a great pick.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: I don't think picking Gronk in the second round in
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: twenty twenty four would be a great pick for this team.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: I don't think that kind of a risk would be
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: a great pick, YEA. Like that's the difference in where
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: they were and the status that Bill had then as.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Opposed to take those risks those positions.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: I just think that a big part And I said
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: this to Barth as we were arguing it with each other.
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: Per usual, a big part of the job when it
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: comes to the draft is knowing the board and knowing
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: how the rest of the league values a player. And
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: the reason why the Patriots are in this position partially
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: is because they took Cole Strange a full round before
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: the rest of the league thought that he should be drafted.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: So if you let's take Jade and Daniels, Michael Pennocks, whoever,
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: if the Patriots take that player fifth overall, and the
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: rest of the league was like, I don't know, our
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: doctors checked out Michael Pennix and like we didn't have
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: him in the first round because his knee is gonna
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: blow in three years, then that was a mistake. You
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: overdrafted the player. And I feel the same way if
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: if the league looks at Jayden Daniels and finds flaws
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: in his game or whoever, you just you can't reaching
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: on players is how you get into it.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: It's funny though, you know, for many, many years people
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: just were just furious at Belichick and the Patriots for
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: constantly trading down. And now it seems this year everyone's
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: like open to that idea, because.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: Really, I mean, I have actually said it, but I
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: don't think a lot of people are.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I'm hearing like an openness.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: It depends on where you fall. I think it a
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: lot depends on Sunday, Like this.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Whole idea of trade down, get a tackle, and then
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: maybe you can trade back up and still get a quarterback,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: I mean, if you end up at four or five, though,
- 1:20:39Speaker 6: you might just have to take the tackle if you
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: really want to tackle. But I mean, I'm open to it,
- 1:20:43Speaker 6: but I totally understand people who are like, hell no, I.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Think like people look at it and they say, oh,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: trade down, so you get four, trade down to like eight,
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: and you get a tackle. Okay, maybe you feel better
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: about taking one of the tackles at eight than you
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: do four, And then you can get a quarterback. The
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: other pick isn't coming till the second round. Right, You're
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: not getting like another first round pick, right, you're switching
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: spots and you're getting like maybe a future one maybe
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: depending on how far the team has to come, or
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: more likely a second rounder that well that's two, right,
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: and then yeah, but then you package them together, right, No,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: I know, but where are you getting the quarterbacks? They're
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: all going to be gone?
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: Maybe maybe unless you just want the scraps, like again,
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: you can get J. J. McCarthy.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: It comes out.
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: I'm not convinced, and I'm not convinced that all four
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: quarterbacks are going to be gone that quickly. I think
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: that Pennix's medicals are a big question mark. Yeah, And
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: I think if they're not Daniels as a passer, is
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: is it going to be a question mark to a
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: lot of people in the league.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: But I see this is weird. If they're not, then
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: I have less interest in them, do you know what
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: I mean? Like if these guys aren't all like top
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: fifteen players according to the whole league, right, but then
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: I'm not as interested.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: But they'll be.
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: They won't be top fifteen players because of like context though, right,
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: like Obe, because Pennix is into injuries, or because some teams.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: Don't want to definitely in Penix the situation, I would say, yes.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: They don't want to adapt their entire offense to fit
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: somebody like Jayden Daniels. Like there's a reason why Lamar
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: Jackson went thirty second overall, right, And I'm not convinced
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: five years later that the same guy is going to
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: go at any higher than Lamar did not yet, Like,
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: I just think that there's still a lot of that
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: old school thinking around the league, that guys like that
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: we're gonna have to tailor it and he's run first,
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: and he's better with his legs and he is with
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: his arm, and like we're gonna have to adapt everything,
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: and like, I don't think that every team is going
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: to be willing to do that.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: All right, a couple more calls and then we'll get
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: to picks. We'll go to Fidel and Tampa. What's up, Fiddel?
- 1:22:45Speaker 23: Hey, how are you guys doing good?
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:22:48Speaker 11: Good?
- 1:22:48Speaker 23: I've been a huge fan of called numerous times. I'm
- 1:22:51Speaker 23: actually Fiddel from Cyprus. Back when you guys had that
- 1:22:54Speaker 23: board while the people we still got it.
- 1:22:57Speaker 11: There you go.
- 1:22:58Speaker 23: I had a quick twenty or and then my point
- 1:23:02Speaker 23: trying to find a new filter for my fridge, and
- 1:23:06Speaker 23: as I'm walking past the washer and dryer, I just
- 1:23:08Speaker 23: hear that one of the guys go, yeah, you gotta go,
- 1:23:10Speaker 23: speed Queen.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: They're there, you go, you go.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Now you know where I was this weekend?
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: Yeah you had to buy another one because yeah, they
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: used all.
- 1:23:18Speaker 11: Those commercials laundry mass.
- 1:23:22Speaker 23: I was almost something around crying.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go? Did you get so? You didn't
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: you don't have a speed queen at home?
- 1:23:28Speaker 23: I take it, no, I don't have it.
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Well, you wouldn't be going out to look for a
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: new one if you haven't.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: You set up a filter for his fridge which by
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: the way, I have issues with that. I got filtered
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: from my fridge. Yeah that's a scam. Oh yeah, oh yeah,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: they have like automatic reorder like this scam. Anyway, what
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: are we talking about?
- 1:23:47Speaker 9: Fridge filters checked out?
- 1:23:50Speaker 23: I've been like holding my a lot with everything Bill's done,
- 1:23:53Speaker 23: But I honestly think you should go because even if
- 1:23:57Speaker 23: you draft the best quarterback of itailable Bills, what maybe
- 1:24:02Speaker 23: two more years? Right, and that's the whole new coaching
- 1:24:05Speaker 23: turnover then yep, And then the whole point with drafting
- 1:24:09Speaker 23: of Michael Pennock that he may be great, but he's
- 1:24:12Speaker 23: injuries in two three years get him out of the league,
- 1:24:14Speaker 23: or drafting uh an ok QB Like, look at the Vikings.
- 1:24:19Speaker 23: They have like the best offense with jettas Justin Jefferson
- 1:24:24Speaker 23: and Mario Addison, and they have Kirk Cousins and they
- 1:24:27Speaker 23: have not any further next to the divisional round. So
- 1:24:31Speaker 23: you may have the best offense defense, that's the far
- 1:24:33Speaker 23: quarterback is not going to get you over the hump.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he could definitely be the deterrent.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: To be fair, Kirk Cousins and.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Thanks, did you know he tore his achilles?
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Right? Yeah? But you know, this isn't the first year
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: he's been the first year.
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: He had that offense. Yeah, yeah, well yeah, I mean
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: I should say the defense, but be slow. I don't like,
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: I don't know how far Minnesota would have gone. But
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: like Minnesota is not like the gold standard for offense
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: in the league because they have Justin Jefferson's the best receiver. Like,
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: there's a lot more that goes into that.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Michelle's in South Carolina. Hey, Michelle, Hey, guys, how
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: are you good?
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Doing great? Michelle?
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: I thought you only call when Hardy was here.
- 1:25:16Speaker 24: No for me now, oh oh, I'm following you guys.
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: Now, no, thanks Michelle.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: You guys.
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: She can't get up early and talk to Hardy. She
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: can't get up and talk to Hardy early.
- 1:25:27Speaker 24: I've got to set my alarm.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I like to sleep for Nooname listen.
- 1:25:34Speaker 24: So we're talking about Bill. I was like on the
- 1:25:36Speaker 24: fence sixty forty. He was saying, Now, it's a little
- 1:25:41Speaker 24: bit low up. But I can't imagine him leaving him
- 1:25:44Speaker 24: and not having a job. That's just to me, is beyond.
- 1:25:49Speaker 24: I have to imagine he's talking to somebody.
- 1:25:52Speaker 12: Yeah, I agree, leave it.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:25:54Speaker 24: So we're going to get a quatter back and it's
- 1:25:58Speaker 24: gonna be what it talks to quarterback top.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: Five maybe, I mean they'll have that pick.
- 1:26:04Speaker 24: But I don't know if the Bridge him, I mean,
- 1:26:08Speaker 24: he's not going to be staty. I wouldn't imagine why not,
- 1:26:12Speaker 24: So who are we gonna get for the Bridge quarter back?
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Hopefully high first?
- 1:26:19Speaker 24: Chicago is not going to get rid of Field.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: No, I don't know about that.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think they're gonna get rid of me.
- 1:26:27Speaker 4: I don't necessarily know that that the rookie won't be
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: ready to start right away, well, whether he's ready or not,
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: like why, I mean, I wouldn't they had Cam Newton before.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: They're gonna have somebody and they let Max start right away.
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: Bailey's happy, Billy?
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Do you think it built?
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: That's what I would say, Michelle.
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: But I mean, but it's not like you're not trying
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: to win like necessarily right, Like I know that sounds crazy,
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: but what are we doing here? But you're not like
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: you're not If I'm you're paying Jacoby Brissett is gonna
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: make probably some'll backup quarterback money next year, like maybe
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: I don't know, eight to ten million, something like.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: That if you're bringing him in with a chance to start, yes,
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: I would say ten million, right.
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: So is that the best in the best interest or like,
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: if the guy's not ready and Bailey Zappy starts for
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: the first month of the season, you know you're you're
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: building something for the next ten years, not for the
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: next eight weeks of the season, you know.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: So all right, thanks show, appreciate one more call and
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: then we're gonna get to picks. Eldred, what's up, Eldred?
- 1:27:31Speaker 8: Hey, ladies, gentlemen, how y'all doing all right? Three to
- 1:27:35Speaker 8: one d P one hundred percent. But uh, like I
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: said before, I heard y'all earlier. And if that report
- 1:27:43Speaker 8: is true about Bill O'Brien and Bill and all it
- 1:27:46Speaker 8: by the office stuff, and if I dude, you telling
- 1:27:49Speaker 8: about well he did, let him come back and do
- 1:27:51Speaker 8: it again, are you or do you really want that again?
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Sorry? Say that again?
- 1:27:56Speaker 23: Come back?
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Bring back who what you said?
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: Bring back Bills. Let Bill do the draft and everything
- 1:28:02Speaker 8: and instead of hand of the keys over to somebody else.
- 1:28:07Speaker 6: Yeah, no, that's what I That's what I definitely want Bill,
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: not to get to keep somebody else.
- 1:28:13Speaker 8: Get Bill out of the buildings.
- 1:28:14Speaker 15: You know time pass.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Yeah, what did that?
- 1:28:16Speaker 8: Reports and everything through alter?
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: What do you disagree with me on?
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: What do we do?
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: What about him?
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:28:23Speaker 8: Okay, okay, you keep saying you keep doing up injuries. Okay,
- 1:28:27Speaker 8: like that, like you said you have today, Well that
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: one year with Washington, just like mac Jones one year
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: in Alabama? Do it not? Four years?
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Did?
- 1:28:38Speaker 11: Yes?
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: You did and you did?
- 1:28:40Speaker 8: You know, kind of compare it, play it back.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: I could play it backsight, play it back, you can
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: play it on YouTube.
- 1:28:45Speaker 8: But he did he did with Indiana. He got hurt
- 1:28:48Speaker 8: in I understand he got her and he could run,
- 1:28:50Speaker 8: but he got hurt. The Indiana became to Washington, and then,
- 1:28:53Speaker 8: like I said, he shows a whole lot better.
- 1:28:56Speaker 11: He got the receiver.
- 1:28:57Speaker 8: Yeah, you got a line. Then you said, putt.
- 1:29:00Speaker 11: He be the same.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: It won't be the sign.
- 1:29:03Speaker 8: It won't be the sign.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: Okay, your son catch twenty two, I assumed. Okay, So
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: what I said about the MACT thing with with Penix
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: is elder. I think you could admit to this too.
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: Like we have to learn from why mac Jones failed,
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: And one of the big reasons why mac Jones failed,
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: it turns out, is that the Alabama supporting cast made
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: him look better than he is. So with Penix, I
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: agree that the eye test tells me that he's a
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: more talented player than Mac Jones was in college. But
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: you still have to put some thought into the fact
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: that he's throwing to three top one hundred wide receivers
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: behind one of the best offensive lines in college football.
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: So how much better is he talent wise that that
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: bridges that gap? Like is it good enough? And the
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: injuries you have to talk about the injuries. The guy
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: had four seasons injuries.
- 1:29:58Speaker 8: But in Indiana.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: And he was still top Yeah, you're throwing, ye, he'll running.
- 1:30:04Speaker 18: So like I said, you may you made my case
- 1:30:07Speaker 18: for me.
- 1:30:08Speaker 8: You keep saying you can't do can't you have a
- 1:30:11Speaker 8: port bet to do it on his own? We can
- 1:30:12Speaker 8: eat some help, but getting you. On the other hand,
- 1:30:14Speaker 8: you keep saying DC lift he back behind him, were
- 1:30:17Speaker 8: left talent. We have proof that it can't be done
- 1:30:19Speaker 8: in New England. Look at Zappy, look at Matt.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: He is not going to have his talent. The talent
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: gap that he has right now at Washington compared to
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: his level of competition is not going to be the
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: same in the NFL. Regardless of how good of a
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: team they put around him.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Thanks, Aldred's gonna happen.
- 1:30:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: I like when when Eldred brings in, I would just
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: say one, one minor thing, like I think we were
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: sort of just saying, yeah, the injuries are are legit. Well,
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: he keeps saying how in Indiana he ran, he's town
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: his a cl twice. Since then, he doesn't run anymore.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Like that's not like just circumstantial, Like he's not a
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: runner anymore. He ran a little bit in the Sugar Bowl,
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: but he did he made some plays off platform that were,
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: you know, kind of impressive. I wonder if like that's
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: in his back pocket only in a championship type game
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: situation because of the injuries. They don't want him to
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: get hurt, so they're protecting him. I just don't when
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: a guy attempts to run. In six seasons of play,
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: the most times I think was thirty five. I looked
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: up yesterday. He's not a runner.
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: Yeah, No, he's not a runner. He's more of like
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: like I said yesterday, he's more of like a to
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: like move off your spot and throw it.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: And that's fine if he if he can throw the
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: ball the way he did on Monday, Like I don't
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: need him to run around and be a dual threat.
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: All right, good show, good, appreciate the emails, appreciate the
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: call the callers. But now it is that time of
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: the week. Bub bub Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys all did well. Mike, Alex, and Evan
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: all twelve and four. I was eleven and five and
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: Fred was ten and si. So it was a good
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: week for everybody except.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: With the spread.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: It was Mike, Alex and Paul at nine and seven,
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: Fred at eight and eight and Evan seven and nine.
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: How did it? How is I so good? Straight up?
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: But so bad?
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Because it's because you.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: Just you just picked the favorites every week without anything
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: if you don't even watch, no, I have no idea
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: watch them tape it actual. So Alex has extended the
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: lead by a game one sixty four and ninety two,
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: followed by Paul at won sixty and ninety six, Mike
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: one fifty seven and ninety nine, uh, Evan one fifty
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: five and one oh one, and Fred one fifty three
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: and one o three. With the spread just the blowout
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: Paul one thirty four one, eleven and eleven. Alex won
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: twenty four one, twenty one and eleven. Good job you're
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: now making money? Tell yeah, uh, let's see not actually no,
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: last week was only one game over, so actually she wasn't.
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: Three games over will get you. That'll get you some money. Yeah,
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: the vigor, but the yes, let's see, got it right?
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: Fred one eighteen one, twenty seven and eleven, Evan one
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: seventeen one, twenty eight and eleven and Mike one thirteen
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: one thirty two in eleven.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: Eight first your last four I got soon coming to
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: get you.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: I think on Tuesday we were talking about the Lions game,
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: and you know, now that betting is legal, you know,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: the league will need to be more transparent. It's a
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: bigger deal now. And somebody one of our listeners from
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: Australia emailed me and said, you know, in Australia betting
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: has been legal for a long time and we have
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: uh you know, Australian rules football and rugby and the
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: rest suck there too, and life goes on like it didn't,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: you know, with bad calls, like people haven't sued these
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: leagues and everything, so they're saying that you can still
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: have bad calls and it'll be fine, even though that
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: will get gambling his legal crazy like us.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: I just don't Yeah, I don't think. I think that's
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: way overblown. That's part of it, Like the fact that
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: bet betting is legal now, yeah, because I think if.
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: Parents because people are losing money.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: But if you wanted to be in a referees pocket,
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: like legalizing gambling didn't change.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: No, But I think the point now is when it
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: was illegal, there was no recourse, like you're not going
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: to sue the league because you're doing no.
- 1:34:21Speaker 10: No, no.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: I get.
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: I get that people are going to be up and
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: our I get that people are more upset about it.
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: I just don't think it changed like people think it's
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: changed the importance of these the outcome. Why because fans
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: are upset, don't bet, Like that's the risk that you run.
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: And when I say, like it being fixed, yeah, that's
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: part of being that's part of the risk.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: But there is that chance, like if if it became
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: out I was out there that there was more than
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: just a little fixing of games. Now that it's legal,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: there could be a class action suit against the NFL
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: on the behalf of gamblers, and they could sue the.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: League, right, But what I'm saying is what was stopping
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: people that were gambling legally in Las Vegas from doing that?
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: That's right, it was.
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: So I just and I'm not saying it's not an
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: issue because because I do think it's it's bigger, it's
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: more mainstream, really, But I'm whatever that.
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: Leagues have their hand in the pot when people were
- 1:35:16Speaker 7: going and gambling in Vegas or was it Caesar and
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: MGM and stuff like, leagues have a little.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: More Boston College and the NBA.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: And I know, but Alex's point is now that the
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: leagues are all in bed with the casinos, is that
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: keep it from happening?
- 1:35:35Speaker 10: No?
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: Does it make it worse?
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, like it's like, what it
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: only takes one person to get really mad to start
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: a whole chain reaction. But I just think that life,
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: like you said, life moves on, Like is anybody really
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: going to remember the Lions Cowboys game and how it ended.
- 1:35:50Speaker 7: To the guy that bet his child's college fund.
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: And by the way, that guy, if he won that one,
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: he was last lost the next.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: Because that's how it works.
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: All right. So there's a lot just up front there's
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: a lot of key personnel on all teams not playing.
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: I don't have them all committed to memory. Mike and
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: I were talking about this a little this morning, so
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: just to the point where I couldn't even and if
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: you guys want to go on DraftKings now and see
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: like as of like eleven forty, DraftKings did not even
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: have the lines up. So I got these out of
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: the globe today so that the numbers may be a
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: little bit different, but whatever, coast, So go ahead, Fred, all.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: Right, So we have two games on Saturday. The first
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: one starts at four thirty. It's on ESPN, ABC, ESPN plus,
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: ESPN Deportes. The nine and seven Steelers are at the
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: thirteen and three.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Ravens No Lamar, Jacks, no Lamar. Yes, a lot of
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: Ravens not playing in this game. Steelers are favored on
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: the road by four by four.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: Uh real quick.
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: I just I gamed out my picks today and if
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: my picks go the Patriots sent up with the fourth
- 1:37:03Speaker 6: overall pick, I'm taking Pittsburgh.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: I lay the points.
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: Wait, you already did this ahead of the time.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I kind of just was gaming it out.
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Pittsburgh, and you allaying the points cheating.
- 1:37:14Speaker 9: You just came prepared.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: I wouldn't.
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: I wouldn't know how to do what.
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: He there's a there's like a simulator thing. So he
- 1:37:20Speaker 6: just picked the games and then it tells you.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, it's very easy. So you just picked every game.
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's what we're doing.
- 1:37:26Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the Steelers as well with the spread.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Gotta hurry you, Evan Ravens. Ravens, Okay, I'm going to hurry.
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: I'm going to take Pittsburgh to win the game, but
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: I will take the points.
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with Paul. I'm gonna split it up. Ravens lose,
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: but they cover. Uh eight fifteen on ESPN, ABC, ESPN plus,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: ESPN Deportes nine and seven Texans at the nine and
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: seven Colts.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: Okay, this game will be played legit because this game
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: is uh, the winner gets a playoff spot. Houston is
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: favored by one.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going flip since.
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it might not be like I said. I went
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: to the globes.
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: I have Houston minus one and a half, so but
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: the same.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: Okay, that's close.
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: I will take Houston minus one on the road and
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: they get in right, and this is for the title.
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: Houston with the win. The winner of this game is
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: guaranteed a wild card and could win the division if
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: Jacksonville loses.
- 1:38:25Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm riding with Houston as well.
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll take the better quarterback. I'm gonna take Houston too.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm gonna take Houston too.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: I'm going with the Colts. Colts have been a game
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: team this year. They're at home. I will go with
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: the Colts to pull this one out. Uh Sunday at one,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: the eight and eight Buccaneers are at the two and
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: fourteen drinking your face Panthers.
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: Nice great apology by Away for that one. I regret it,
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: Tampa bay By. I regret not allowing the NFL security
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: to handle it because I think was part of his
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: phraseology perfect no regrets, no regirts. I will take It's
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: sorry Tampa by four and a half.
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: And do we know with Tampa sitting guys or no,
- 1:39:20Speaker 6: Tampa needs to win and then I will take Tampa.
- 1:39:22Speaker 6: I believe I will lay the points that may not.
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: Be right, Tampa, Tampa, Tampa, Tampa.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: I think Tampa needs to win. I am Tampa Tampa.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: Also me to Tampa Tampa one o'clock on CBS. The
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: eleven and five Browns are at the eight and eight Bengals.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: Okay, so this one you get some funny stuff. Cleveland
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: is starting Jeff Driscoll quarterback. Sounds like a gym teacher
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: who has not really missed.
- 1:39:46Speaker 9: I have a good friend from college. His dad is
- 1:39:48Speaker 9: Jeff Driscoll.
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: I think everybody knows what is that conventional spelling for Driscolls,
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: not like this guy with the R.
- 1:39:59Speaker 9: The normal way?
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: So can't Cincinnati is favored by seven, so obviously they're eliminated. Yes,
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: obviously the line is, you know, taking into consideration that
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: Cleveland's not playing nobody.
- 1:40:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take Cincinnati. But that's a lot of points
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: in a weird game. So I'll take the points.
- 1:40:16Speaker 9: Will I same thing as News?
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: All right, fine, I'll do the same thing.
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Cincinnati both ways. I don't think
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: Cleveland's going to be into the sky.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I will take the points defensive depth. Sunday at one
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: on Fox seven and nine Vikings or at the eleven
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: and five pissed off.
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: Lions Detroit by three and a half. I don't know
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: the situation with personnel in this one. Minnesota is not eliminated,
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: and Detroit I don't think can move their spot.
- 1:40:51Speaker 6: Yeah, that makes it weird for me. That's I'm gonna
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: take Detroit and I will lay the points.
- 1:40:56Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm gonna take Detroit at pissed off Detroit at home.
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take Detroit. I just think the Vikings
- 1:41:03Speaker 4: kind of stink.
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's back to Nick Mullens by the way.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great.
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: So three and a half. I'm gonna take Minnesota to
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: win the game, but I will take Detroit to cover.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I will take Detroit both ways. Sunday at one, these
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: seven and nine Falcons are at the eight and eight Saints.
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: No Leans by three, and I believe New Orleans can
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: win the division with a win and a Tampa loss.
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take New Orleans at home, all o
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: the points please.
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I guess I'll do the same. I did
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: not put any thought.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: So this is going to complete my own. This is
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: going to complete my oh and seventeen season picking the
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: Falcons game. I will take New Orleans.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: Are you actually seventeen?
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: I can't imagine I've won any games with them.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: I have no idea. What's gonna be the new line.
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: They're vikings.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Everybody has one.
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: Yep. I'm gonna go with the Saints as well. One
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: o'clock see nine and seven Jaguars at the five and
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: eleven Titans.
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: Gays need this game.
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: Yeah they do. Uh, Jags by five and a.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: Half, and Lawrence looks like he's gonna play.
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: Don't know that.
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Jacksonville.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: They pull out the win.
- 1:42:17Speaker 9: Jaguars, Jaguars.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: I'm kind of tempted to take the Titans me too,
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: the Jabs. Just that Jaguars always choking these types of spots, right,
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: But I'm gonna take the the Jags. You know, I'll
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: take the Titans to cover field goal game.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. I'll take the
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: Jags to win, but I'll take the.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: Points me too.
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: I think gets fired.
- 1:42:39Speaker 21: I don't know.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: I think it's funny. How absolutely not, Like so many
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: people think vrabels like they have one more win than
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: the Patriots.
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he might, he might leave, he might force his
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: way out, but he ain't getting fired, all right, I'd
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: be really surprised.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock we
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: go to four to twenty five. There're a No four
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: or five games this week.
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: All No four or five games, Fred, No four or
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: five games.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: It's tough.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: That means it's a delayed start to red zone.
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: Paul. Yeah, the eight and eight Seahawks and the snow
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: The eight and eight Seahawks are at the four and
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: twelve Cardinals.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: That's way down my list here, Seattle by two and
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: a half. This game should be played reasonably straight up.
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: Right, and man, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna change it up.
- 1:43:25Speaker 6: I had seeah, I'm gonna go with Arizona though, oh Arizona,
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: maybe that'll get Patriots up to three.
- 1:43:32Speaker 9: I'm just gonna go with the Sharps. I'll take Seattle.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: I'm taking Arizona. I think that they're a little frisky Cardinals.
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: I'll take Seattle, but I could definitely see uh the
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: fisky factor.
- 1:43:47Speaker 10: Kyl.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: Full slate of four to twenty five games, by the way,
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: can you pick them? I'm gonna go with the Seahawks.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Both players all right, four twenty five, seven and nine
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: bare at the eight to eight Packers.
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: Okay, I know no one on the panel knows anything
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: that's going on with Chicago based on yesterday's show, green
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: Bay by three. Interesting you weren't here.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: Interesting spot.
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: And I know Chicago has been playing a little frisky,
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: but I'm gonna go green Bay at home. The Lambeau Leap,
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: they pull out a win, green Bay, Green Bay.
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: I'm gonna go green Bay at home as well. I
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: like how Jordan loves playing. I think he's been playing
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: pretty well second.
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: Half, played really well last week. I will take Chicago
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: to keep their late season momentum.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: Paul, you are correct. This is your upset lock of
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: the week. Bears win. Justin Fields has a good game
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: and the intrigue surrounding his future increases four to twenty five.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: The ten and six Chiefs are at the five and
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: eleven Chargers.
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: Okay, this is one with Kansas City playing. Blaine Gabbert
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: I believe, yeah, that's true. So the Chargers are favored
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: by three and a halfsticks.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Blaine GABBERTA, I'm going to take the Chargers.
- 1:45:09Speaker 6: I just feel like they've been they've been already kind
- 1:45:11Speaker 6: of in this mode and they'll be at home and
- 1:45:13Speaker 6: they're just yeah, I got them.
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: I guess whatever funny I was thinking the same exact
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: thing as I was typing that in.
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they kin used to pay.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: They've already been playing out the strength, right.
- 1:45:24Speaker 9: Yeah, I'll take the Chargers, but maybe field goal game.
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: Take the hook.
- 1:45:30Speaker 6: She's getting cockyed, She's taking hooks and stuff.
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: She's I'm gonna do the same thing as Alex.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: She's probably like a pro gambler. We don't even realize that.
- 1:45:40Speaker 9: I wish I was allowed now that I know, I'm
- 1:45:42Speaker 9: so good at it, I am just going.
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: To take Kansas City both ways. I don't know.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: Again, Paul, You're correct, Kansas City wins, and the next
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: day Patriots fans say that Mahomes is a system quarterback.
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: I think we should keep track of how many times
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: Fred says like, Paul's correct, and then how many times
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: you guys are actually I like.
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: The Mahomes shot though, is good.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: Eight and eight Broncos are at the seven and nine.
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: Raiders, Raiders by two and a half.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: This game of the season. Nothing. I'm gonna take the
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Raiders in Vegas. Lay the points.
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: You don't take stam A lot of a lot of
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: gotta keep Antonio Pierce talk should be music to Patriots fans.
- 1:46:27Speaker 9: Eers Raiders Raiders.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I like the Raiders both ways too. I think
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: they are playing for the coach a little bit. I
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: think they like.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: Absolutely they're trying to keep his job. Anytime you let
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: the players make that choice, good news for the opponents.
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: I will take the Raiders as well.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: What was the number?
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: Two and a half?
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: Raiders are favorite? Yes, I'm gonna take the Broncos.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: Just looking for a little juice because as as Hardy
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: likes to say, the action is the juice.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: As I said, a lot of four to twenty five games,
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: the eleven and five. What that means, Mike, A lot,
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: a lot of so many games and you're gonna be
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: a lot the more reason to have a four hour
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: post game are at the five and eleven Giants.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: Of the floundering Eagles are favored by five.
- 1:47:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I think the Eagles will pull this one out,
- 1:47:17Speaker 6: but I'm gonna take the points for the Giants. I
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: think it'll be it'll be a slog, probably in similar
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: conditions to what's here.
- 1:47:24Speaker 9: Eagles both ways.
- 1:47:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I like the Eagles both ways. But the Nick
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: Sirianni thing in Philly, I think is really interesting that
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: that that fall from Grace could be rapid. That that
- 1:47:35Speaker 4: could be rapid.
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: Maybe took everybody a year or so to catch up
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: to the offense, and now that the defense is sort
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: of falling apart. I am going to take Philly to win,
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: but I'll take the points because I just don't like
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: the way the Eagles are playing.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to take the Eagles both ways, just
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: because they need to turn things around going into the playoffs.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: Four five, I find I'm taking a lot of road games.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: Nine and seven Rams are at the twelve and four
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: forty nine ers.
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: That's the playoff bound Rams. For those of you keeping
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: track at home, I know you guys don't.
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: And who owns this series?
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: Somebody owns the Niners own the series, however, not in
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: the playoffs. Nobody is playing in this game for either somebody.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: No Stafford, uh, no party.
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: No McCaffrey, will be no drop off at quarterback, no McCaffrey.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: Uh Niners are favored by four day.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Rams.
- 1:48:31Speaker 6: I think they're they're they're there's B squad will be
- 1:48:34Speaker 6: a little bit more frisky, and yeah.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: Go for the upset, if you can call it that.
- 1:48:40Speaker 9: I kind of want to take that too. But I'm
- 1:48:41Speaker 9: gonna I'm just gonna stick with the forty nine ers.
- 1:48:43Speaker 9: I'll give you the Rams the points, though.
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: I'm going to forty nine Ers. No dropoff quarterback for them.
- 1:48:49Speaker 4: I'm gonna take San Francisco, commit to the bit and
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: not gonna take them to win cover the spread.
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: Yeah, i think they'll be a huge drop off, but
- 1:48:56Speaker 3: I'll still take the Niners because nobody's playing for the
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: Rams either.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: Yeah, forty nine ers win this game.
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: Who's playing a quarterback for the forty nine ers on
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: the same Sam Donald drop This is Sam Donald against
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: Carson Wentz. I'm confident on that.
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: No drop off.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: Four the eleven and five Cowboys.
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: How about them Cowboys?
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: A right now? Four and twelve commanders.
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: Dallas by thirteen Commanders are actively tanking this game. Just
- 1:49:21Speaker 4: keep that in mind.
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: Well, when you say it like that, I'll take Dallas,
- 1:49:26Speaker 6: but I'm gonna take the points for Washington because I
- 1:49:28Speaker 6: wonder about conditions.
- 1:49:31Speaker 9: Oh yeah, it's in Washington. Cowboys Cowboys.
- 1:49:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm taking the Cowboys both ways. The Commanders are
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: starting Sam Howell, who is objectively worse than Jacoby Brissett.
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: And there's also a report out of Washington that most
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: of their veterans are probably not even going to play
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: in this game. They are legitimately tanking this game.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: That's there's a definition of how to tank, and they're
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: doing it. You trade your good players at the trade deadline,
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: and you go out there and play hard, shoot your
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: best shot, but you ain't gonna win any games. And
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: by the way, your boy was gonna start and he
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: pulled his hamstring. That's on percent. That's why he didn't
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: start last week. Well, he pulled his hamstring and practice
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: on Thursday. Yes, I agree. I'll take Dallas both ways.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: The snow helps that for a team that's tanking, they
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: might not even get out of the locker room.
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Cowboys both ways as well.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: And our final game on very sure at eight twenty
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: is the ten and six Bills at the eleven and
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: five Dolphins. Game of the week, Game of the week.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: It is the game of the week. I just missed
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: a bunny. I feel like Luke Cornett Bills by three.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: I didn't understand.
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: Why did you just lose like that?
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: He's one of the worst NBA players basketball play. Yeah,
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: I like that other guy. By the way, that I
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: think he should play more Quita.
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, case.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: So I'm not just taking a shot at the guys
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: on the bench. I think I think in particular.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: Game play, little poor Man's Rob Williams with Queita.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: Okay, I'll take your word for it.
- 1:51:06Speaker 6: I'm gonna go Buffalo.
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: I'm only seven minutes for the last two games.
- 1:51:10Speaker 4: That's why I did it.
- 1:51:10Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with Buffalo in this one. I think,
- 1:51:13Speaker 6: you know, I don't think they're you know, the team
- 1:51:16Speaker 6: that they've been, But I just I like Josh Allen
- 1:51:18Speaker 6: in this game, and I'm going to take the Buffalo.
- 1:51:21Speaker 6: Josh Allen's over Miami, Tuas and Bank.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: Everybody's hurt on fire.
- 1:51:27Speaker 9: Yeah, he's unsettled right now. Buffalo Buffalo.
- 1:51:32Speaker 4: It's not funny.
- 1:51:34Speaker 6: It's like some kid playing with match.
- 1:51:35Speaker 9: Kid was playing with a lighter.
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: Be careful kids in the house, apparently. Well, it's fair.
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Buffalo in this game. I just think
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: that I don't know if Miami is ready for this
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: spot yet, and I think the Bills are and I
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: like the Bills in this game, and I like Josh
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: Allen to flex on him a little bit.
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. I I do think Miami is ready
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: for it. Unfortunately, none of the players I think are
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: ready for it will be playing in this game. So,
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: and I know Buffalo's banged up to the shoulder with Alan,
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: but I'm gonna takey I'm with you, guys, I'm gonna
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: take Buffalo.
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Buffalo as well, Buffalo all around. Interesting
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: All right? Now we go back to one o'clock and
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: the six and ten Jets head to Gillette to take
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: on the four and twelve Patriots.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Patriots are favored by one and a half.
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: Ha haha.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: Boy, that means they're underdogs by two and a half.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: Not according to you boys.
- 1:52:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I will take the Patriots to win. I just
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: I think it'll be a slog and points will be
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: at a premium. I think turnovers are what kind of
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: decide it and probably will set up the majority of
- 1:52:45Speaker 6: the points. I'm gonna say Patriots sixteen to six.
- 1:52:52Speaker 7: I was also similar score, but Patriots sixteen to nine.
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: Oh, so I'm gonna go bold. Ye, I'm gonna go
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: very different from all of you. I have the Patriots
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: twenty seven to nothing in this game against the Jets.
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: I think that one team is playing for their coach
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: and playing for each other, and I think one team
- 1:53:11Speaker 4: doesn't give an f and the team that cares is
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: the Patriots. I think that they have a lot of
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: guys that this could be their last games in the NFL,
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: David Andrews, Matthew Slater, Lawrence Guy potentially, and maybe Bill's
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: last game coaching. And I think that they put together
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: one more ass, you know, kicking, I said, so, I realized.
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: That I did like the emphasis on the clean word,
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: but kicking, kicking of the of.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: The Jets punched their asses.
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: To send Bill off potentially.
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: So I will be taking the Patriots both ways as well,
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: twenty to nine. But I'm just curious twenty seven nothing,
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: what would that require for a turnover margin in the game. Well,
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: so the game I'm going to say plus five.
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: The game that I kind of going off of is
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: that Detroit game last year where it was right, it
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: was twenty seven to nothing, but Bailey's appias.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: Yeah, like plus five and turnovers that tracks, yeah, yeah,
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: a lot of down town six, six failed fourth downs
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: and a fumble return for a touchdown in that game, Yeah, exactly.
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: It might have been It might have been an interception
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: returned for a touchdown too, dugger fumble fumble was uh
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: was dugger.
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: I just think that there's one offense that's worse than
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: the league right now on the Patriots, and it's the Jets.
- 1:54:27Speaker 3: Yeah, especially with uh Simeon.
- 1:54:30Speaker 4: And I think that those guys are playing. Whether it's
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: for nobody turns the ball over like the New York Jets,
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: I don't know, but the defense planet's butt off.
- 1:54:37Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: The reason I went, oh, when uh deuce and Alex scores.
- 1:54:42Speaker 3: You also have the Patriots going sixteen.
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they still might under a little bit. Sixteen nothing
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: nothing Patriots at hat tip to the sixteen and oh streak.
- 1:54:53Speaker 17: I like it.
- 1:54:53Speaker 11: I like it.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: So Patriots win. You guys got the pitch and shutouts.
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: I don't think it's crazy.
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: So Homer dot com all on the four and twelve.
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: I know, right, that's right. We believe in the Jets
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: snowby damned Hatriots managed sixteen points and what could be
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: an historic game we'll see.
- 1:55:13Speaker 6: I mean, I like, do you remember these games though,
- 1:55:15Speaker 6: Like I don't know. I just these games like that
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: that's the last game, But I feel like it'll quickly
- 1:55:20Speaker 6: be forgotten and we'll remember the good times.
- 1:55:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it laugh when you want to cry.
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: But you also have you know, the draft pick in
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: this game too, you know. And there's a lot of
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: angles I feel like to this game that are per game.
- 1:55:34Speaker 4: That really means nothing, right right, It kind of means
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: it's a lot in the same time.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: All right. So pregame ten forty five, possibly a last
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: show by Hardy. So I mean this is a historic day,
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: I know, you know, it really is big. Then the
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: postgame show four hour extrama extravaganza not really uh, and
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: then we'll be back Tuesday. But we go into our
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: off season schedule of Tuesday and Thursday. We did get
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: some emails pleading that we keep it three days a week.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: Don't forget. Catch twenty two will be every week during
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: the off season as West Crew. So that's your third
