- 0:21Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome to Bless This Message True Podcast. I'm here,
- 0:23Speaker 1: here's to say has to do? All right, we're back
- 0:26Speaker 1: and this week we are going to Georgia.
- 0:28Speaker 2: For a creepy, creepy creepy stories to tell me about it.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I will be telling you as you're telling them about it,
- 0:37Speaker 1: because you know nothing until you just show up and
- 0:40Speaker 1: hear and look pretty Okay, Well you're not really doing
- 0:44Speaker 1: that very well.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Either's God, we less that. I can't win the.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Night anyway, So we are what's going on with this dow.
- 0:54Speaker 2: We're in limbo.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we got a lot of We got a lot
- 0:57Speaker 1: going on.
- 0:58Speaker 2: We're going to try arguing more the normal because we're
- 1:01Speaker 2: house hunting again.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yes, we're house hunting. So we are moving, guys. We
- 1:06Speaker 1: are getting out of this this lovely, lovely West Texas, but.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It needs a charming three bedroom home.
- 1:15Speaker 1: It's four bedrooms, four bedroom home, but it's a d
- 1:20Speaker 1: R Horton, so the bedrooms are the size of postage stamps.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And you're literally on top of that, no one's going
- 1:25Speaker 1: to buy this house. If they've heard this. All the
- 1:28Speaker 1: neighbors stuck. Our neighbors right now are quiet.
- 1:30Speaker 2: The neighborhood.
- 1:31Speaker 1: The neighborhood is shit, but the our direct neighbors currently
- 1:35Speaker 1: are quiet. We we have a lot of rentals around us, though,
- 1:38Speaker 1: so it could change at any moment what comes in.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So hopefully when we go to sell this home we
- 1:45Speaker 1: have quiet neighbors too. Are you going to get off
- 1:47Speaker 1: your phone so you can pay attention to what's going on.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I already know what you're saying, because you didn't find
- 1:52Speaker 1: your y'all need Jesus, and you're trying to do it
- 1:53Speaker 1: in the moment. That's what's happened. I run an entire case.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I was taking care of the children.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I was you know, that is so full of shit.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I stayed up late and wrote this. Well, I was
- 2:06Speaker 1: taking care of the No, it was past midnight. Everybody
- 2:09Speaker 1: was asleep. Yeah, so even the baby. The baby has
- 2:15Speaker 1: been a champ. He is. He'll be six weeks old
- 2:18Speaker 1: tomorrow or by the time you guys get this, that'll
- 2:21Speaker 1: be Look, we're only like a day or two behind
- 2:23Speaker 1: this week. You guys should be proud.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Of us, okay, instead of a week behind.
- 2:26Speaker 1: We had intentions of recording this Wednesday night, but by
- 2:30Speaker 1: the time we got everybody down and everything we retired,
- 2:35Speaker 1: so it happens. I've just got to accept that I'm
- 2:38Speaker 1: never gonna I'm not gonna be able to sleep, not
- 2:41Speaker 1: because of the baby, but because of maybe the bigger ones. Well, no,
- 2:48Speaker 1: we can't sleep, it's just that we have It's like
- 2:51Speaker 1: after they go to sleep, we want to relax and
- 2:54Speaker 1: do the things that we want to do, and then
- 2:58Speaker 1: it's like, oh no, we need to record. And then
- 3:00Speaker 1: by the time it's like I'm just tired and everything.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So we but this week we're doing okay.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, if they don't cooperate, then it's just busted night.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah. And we did try. We did do an attempt
- 3:12Speaker 1: at letting them stay up later, and that did not
- 3:15Speaker 1: go well because the five year old becomes tired and
- 3:18Speaker 1: she becomes she gets quite quite the attitude. And there
- 3:22Speaker 1: was two nights in a row we tried this late
- 3:24Speaker 1: this later bedtime to see if we could get them
- 3:28Speaker 1: to go because what happens is they go in their room.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I think we found the sweet spot. I think it's
- 3:32Speaker 1: like eight thirty ish timeframe. It's not too bad, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think that's it. We were trying like nine pm
- 3:38Speaker 1: to get him.
- 3:38Speaker 2: In thirty nine because they did it one time, and
- 3:41Speaker 2: we're like, hey, this is the.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Most they did it one time. We were trying early
- 3:45Speaker 1: bedtimes first, we were trying seven seven thirty. Well, they
- 3:49Speaker 1: just all go. We're talking about the three older ones.
- 3:51Speaker 1: The baby's like a champ. He slept eight hours last night,
- 3:53Speaker 1: like he's he's good. He'll be six weeks on Friday,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and so he's he's doing great. He's not the problem.
- 4:00Speaker 1: The other ones are the problem. So they share a
- 4:02Speaker 1: room currently, which yes, that does cause additional problems because
- 4:07Speaker 1: they're sharing a room, but it also removes the problem
- 4:10Speaker 1: of them being scared and not wanting to sleep in
- 4:11Speaker 1: their room because they're by themselves. So anyways, so we
- 4:14Speaker 1: were trying, we try, We used to do seven thirty
- 4:17Speaker 1: bedtime all the time. But the problem is is we
- 4:19Speaker 1: like them to sleep in late. But you can't have
- 4:21Speaker 1: it both ways. You can't have them go to bed
- 4:24Speaker 1: and sleep late. And when we were talking about sleep late,
- 4:26Speaker 1: they sleep sometimes like till like nine, nine thirty or whatever.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And so we move there, so we for one one
- 4:36Speaker 1: night this however long. So anyways, they go in there
- 4:38Speaker 1: and go to sleep and then they're just like loud
- 4:40Speaker 1: and bouncing off the walls and get each other hyped
- 4:43Speaker 1: up because they're not tired yet. So we try doing
- 4:46Speaker 1: a late bedtime. But the problem is is that the
- 4:49Speaker 1: five year old she gets, she does get sleepy around
- 4:51Speaker 1: nine pm, and then she's just got a terrible attitude
- 4:55Speaker 1: and like back talking and stuff, and she's normally not
- 4:58Speaker 1: like that. But you can just see our eyes were
- 5:00Speaker 1: getting tired or whatever. So now we've moved it back
- 5:02Speaker 1: up to I think eight thirty is the sweet spot.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So by the time we get them in bed, get
- 5:08Speaker 1: the house cleaned up, take care of the baby, then
- 5:12Speaker 1: we're just like tired. But anyways, I'm just rambling. This
- 5:16Speaker 1: is like Shoot the Poo stuff.
- 5:17Speaker 2: This yes, this is uh anyways, I've already I've turned
- 5:21Speaker 2: off the podcast already.
- 5:23Speaker 1: No, everybody's like, you were just talking about moving and
- 5:25Speaker 1: somehow you got off.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, how did you do that?
- 5:28Speaker 1: I don't know. We're moving though, Okay, so we'll talk
- 5:31Speaker 1: about it more on Shoot the Poo or whatever. But
- 5:33Speaker 1: our house hunting and everything like that, but we are
- 5:36Speaker 1: currently in the process of we will be. We're also
- 5:39Speaker 1: going on this road trip, you know, and we would
- 5:43Speaker 1: now have scheduled the road trip had we known we
- 5:46Speaker 1: were moving so fast, we have to be out of
- 5:49Speaker 1: here by July first, so we are on a tight deadline,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and we scheduled an epic.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Road trip with non refundable book.
- 5:59Speaker 1: With non refuneable STUF to save money, and here we are.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So we're just gonna cram it all in. You know,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's fine, Everything will be fine.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Aunt Supposedly we're gonna record on the road.
- 6:08Speaker 1: According to Kara, Yes, I'm oh, that was what I
- 6:10Speaker 1: was gonna say. So we are going to try to
- 6:13Speaker 1: get some episodes out while we're gon. STU found cases
- 6:16Speaker 1: about different places we're gonna be visiting. I think, is
- 6:19Speaker 1: that what you did?
- 6:20Speaker 2: So I ain't done them all, but.
- 6:22Speaker 1: They may not be the longest episodes, but we're gonna
- 6:25Speaker 1: we're gonna try to put something out. So we are
- 6:27Speaker 1: bringing the recording equipment because like when I say we're
- 6:29Speaker 1: gonna go on an epic road trip, we're gonna be
- 6:31Speaker 1: gone for quite some time because I ain't staying in
- 6:34Speaker 1: this West Texas hell hole.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Because you saw something on tech Talk.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yes it so why do your if you're gonna be
- 6:44Speaker 1: on paternity or parental leave or whatever. It was a
- 6:47Speaker 1: guy with this baby. If you're gonna be on parental
- 6:50Speaker 1: leave or praternity leave, you might as well be on
- 6:52Speaker 1: paternity leaving Key West And I was like, bingo, you
- 6:56Speaker 1: know what, You're right, I am easily influenced. I should
- 6:59Speaker 1: really stay on the internet anyway. So speaking of the internet,
- 7:04Speaker 1: we have Patreon. We think everybody who supports us. There
- 7:08Speaker 1: you get the episodes twenty four hours early in ad
- 7:11Speaker 1: free and then that Shoot the Pooh I'm talking about.
- 7:13Speaker 1: If you're new here, we do it. We try to
- 7:15Speaker 1: do it once a week. Since the baby's been here
- 7:17Speaker 1: and everything's like chaos and stuff, we've been every other
- 7:20Speaker 1: weeks right now, but we're gonna we're gonna get one
- 7:23Speaker 1: out this week and we'll talk more about the move
- 7:25Speaker 1: and things like that. And then we have if you
- 7:30Speaker 1: can rate, review, subscribe wherever you get your podcast, and
- 7:33Speaker 1: then we have TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. I share truecrime recommendations,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and I also share what we're having for dinner every night,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and I have started because I was just sharing what
- 7:46Speaker 1: we're having for dinner, but now I've been trying to
- 7:48Speaker 1: add in the actual recipe so you can go follow
- 7:52Speaker 1: that if you need. If you want to see what
- 7:54Speaker 1: we're eating and stuff like that, so which we're getting
- 7:58Speaker 1: creative with the food because we can't buy any more
- 7:59Speaker 1: food because we're going on the road trip and then
- 8:01Speaker 1: we're moving, so we're literally trying to do I'm trying
- 8:03Speaker 1: not to buy any groceries and just come up with
- 8:06Speaker 1: meals with what we have and try to use up
- 8:08Speaker 1: all the stuff in our fridge and then our freezer
- 8:11Speaker 1: and pantry. So that's what's going on there. And oh,
- 8:17Speaker 1: all those are like at Blessed this Mess podcast or
- 8:20Speaker 1: all the names or whatever of the the social media's
- 8:25Speaker 1: and stuff like that. You'd think I'd you'd think I'd
- 8:28Speaker 1: never done this before. I won't you think i'd have
- 8:32Speaker 1: something Because I was going to talk about the books
- 8:35Speaker 1: that I was reading too, Oh, right now i'm reading.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'll just say the one that i'm reading. So I
- 8:40Speaker 1: finished an audiobook today called a Good Lie by A. R.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Tory or something like that. And then my current read
- 8:50Speaker 1: because I'm still working on Frozen River, which I've been
- 8:52Speaker 1: trying to read since January. And then I was reading
- 8:55Speaker 1: that Wild Dark Shore and it's slow as fuck as too,
- 8:58Speaker 1: so I'm gonna have to take that in one chapter.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I don't know, I can't. Some of these people just
- 9:03Speaker 1: dn F STU. Do you know what that means? No,
- 9:07Speaker 1: d n f uh. It means did not finish. And
- 9:11Speaker 1: I have a real hard time doing that. I once
- 9:15Speaker 1: I start reading a book, I'm like, I feel like
- 9:17Speaker 1: I need to finish it or whatever, even if I'm
- 9:18Speaker 1: not enjoying it. But I really feel like I should
- 9:22Speaker 1: should DNF some of these. But Wild Dark Shore, it's
- 9:26Speaker 1: just slow, jesus. I mean, I know it's real popular.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I'm stopp I'm gonna stop looking at these popular books
- 9:32Speaker 1: on tiktoks and things and instagrams and things that I mean,
- 9:36Speaker 1: they're just not for me. And then so right now
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'm reading Nobody Knows You're here. It's a Kindle Unlimited book,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and it's pretty good. It's a it's a mystery thriller.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And then I finished. I finished what was it called?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Stude?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Can you talk why?
- 9:54Speaker 2: I looked as I don't know what it's called. You're
- 9:57Speaker 2: talking about boring ass books that you did not I'm.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Not reading boring. I'm not talking about boring ass books. Just
- 10:01Speaker 1: because you're a dumb ass you can't read, doesn't mean
- 10:04Speaker 1: that oh.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I can read. I can read the writing on the wall.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I don't know how to look up your history on
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't know how to look up your history. So
- 10:16Speaker 1: it was something about a good lie or something like that.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You can look it up. It came as an audiobook
- 10:21Speaker 1: on Kindle unlimited to so that one was really good.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And I finished that all one day because I listen
- 10:25Speaker 1: on like two time speed. Because now if I listen
- 10:29Speaker 1: to them on one time speed, like the regular speed,
- 10:31Speaker 1: they really sound like stroke victims. Like it sounds like
- 10:36Speaker 1: someone like no on one time.
- 10:39Speaker 2: That's what it sounds like.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I know it sounds like to you, but to me
- 10:43Speaker 1: it And if you actually read a book while you're
- 10:45Speaker 1: listening at like two time speed, that's how fast your
- 10:47Speaker 1: brain actually reads that one times is just like here's
- 10:52Speaker 1: the key. If you are listening to the audiobook and
- 10:54Speaker 1: you try to listen to it at a faster pace
- 10:56Speaker 1: and you're like, I can't listen to this, this is
- 10:57Speaker 1: too much. Here's what You do it up at like
- 11:00Speaker 1: two times speed and then listen to it for a
- 11:03Speaker 1: couple of minutes like that, and then drop it down
- 11:06Speaker 1: to one point seven speed and it'll sound you will
- 11:09Speaker 1: understand every single thing. You you got to just trick
- 11:11Speaker 1: your brain. So you just listen to it a little
- 11:13Speaker 1: bit faster for a few minutes, and then you take
- 11:15Speaker 1: it down one notch and it's it's good.
- 11:19Speaker 2: That's the key.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the key. So anyways, all right, well that
- 11:23Speaker 1: was enough nonsense for this episode, So let's go ahead
- 11:28Speaker 1: and get into our case.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Out of Oh, we're still going to do the case
- 11:31Speaker 2: after all that.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Yes, do it. Okay, I should just cut this now
- 11:34Speaker 1: and this will be.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Shoot them, This will be our shoot.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yes. So on the Shoot the Poo too, if we're
- 11:41Speaker 1: gonna be if you want to know where if you
- 11:43Speaker 1: want to watch ahead, we're going to be talking about
- 11:46Speaker 1: that new Netflix documentary Trust Me the False Prophet about
- 11:51Speaker 1: the FLDS church in Colorado City, Arizona and the lady
- 11:57Speaker 1: that like does a documentary and takes down the Michael
- 12:01Speaker 1: Scott of Profits FLDS Profits.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yes, I dipped in and out of that.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a four part series.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I was like, I can't believe this.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so if you want to watch it, that's what
- 12:13Speaker 1: we're going to talk about on Shoot the Pooh this week.
- 12:15Speaker 1: All right, So let's get into this case out of Georgia.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And to write this case, I read an article from
- 12:25Speaker 1: the Atlanta magazine. I believe it's called I think it's
- 12:28Speaker 1: a magazine. It was online, but I think Atlanta is
- 12:31Speaker 1: a magazine as well as.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Well as a city baseball team.
- 12:36Speaker 1: And then I watched an episode of Dead Silent on
- 12:39Speaker 1: Discovery Plus. And I'll put the actual episode in the notes.
- 12:45Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:45Speaker 1: So in nineteen seventy six, doctor Charles Scudder was the
- 12:49Speaker 1: pharmacology professor at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Six h
- 12:55Speaker 1: six five two. Scruff my gruff, chicagoll. What that is?
- 13:03Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about that.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That is embedded in my head for all eternity is
- 13:09Speaker 1: scruff mcgrauff, Chicago, Illinois, six oh six five two. That's
- 13:13Speaker 1: the zip code. Mm hmm. Anyway, so Scuff mcgarff. He
- 13:18Speaker 1: fought crime, yes, yes, okay, Smoky the bear fights forest fire.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Wow.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Okay, Smoky the bear, the bear they're both. Oh no,
- 13:30Speaker 1: one's a dog and one's a bear.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Wow. It's almost like you've been drinking whiskey.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Okay, I wish all right. So he works at Loyal
- 13:41Speaker 1: he's a professor at Loyola. I can't say that Chicago.
- 13:45Speaker 1: He moves to George George, Georgia either Georgia with his partner,
- 13:53Speaker 1: Joseph Odom and they're they're in. They're two English mastives,
- 13:57Speaker 1: those big ass dogs. So Joseph was quite a bit
- 14:04Speaker 1: younger than Charles, I want to say, like twenty years
- 14:07Speaker 1: or so. He had actually come to Charles's home in
- 14:10Speaker 1: Chicago as a housekeeper, and then they became a couple
- 14:13Speaker 1: and had been together for a very long time at
- 14:15Speaker 1: this point. Now, Charles did have a life before meeting Joseph,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and I'm not sure if he came in was the
- 14:21Speaker 1: housekeeper when Charles was leading this other life, because he
- 14:25Speaker 1: did have three children that were grown. So at some
- 14:27Speaker 1: point he must have been married to a woman, you know,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and everything like that. So he had three grown children,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and so this move to Georgia was because he was
- 14:37Speaker 1: ready to start a new chapter. He was tired of teaching.
- 14:42Speaker 1: He just wanted a completely different life and he wanted
- 14:45Speaker 1: to live it how he wanted to live it, and
- 14:47Speaker 1: so moving to forty acres in the Chattahoochee National Forest
- 14:52Speaker 1: was how he was going to accomplish this.
- 14:54Speaker 2: That's a big cultural shock.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Well, I think they just wanted to live. Well, he
- 14:59Speaker 1: was sick of all the students and everything. I think
- 15:01Speaker 1: he just wanted to live. He wanted to live in
- 15:03Speaker 1: the woods, off the grid.
- 15:04Speaker 2: As what was his sounds like these days.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they're sick of their shit. So in northern Georgia,
- 15:10Speaker 1: this is where this Chattahoochee way down yonder by the Chattahoochie.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Never care how much is mast about.
- 15:15Speaker 2: We only have so many listeners as it is.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Okay, uh, Northern Georgia where they plan to build a
- 15:23Speaker 1: like a castle that is off the grid, and they
- 15:25Speaker 1: plan to build it with their own two hands. Now,
- 15:29Speaker 1: Charles decides to name the castle or the castle corpsewood
- 15:34Speaker 1: manor that's corpsewood manors to And this is based off
- 15:38Speaker 1: the fact that there, whenever they went there, there was
- 15:41Speaker 1: like these dead imagine like a bunch of dead trees
- 15:45Speaker 1: just sticking up like eerily in the forest. And so
- 15:48Speaker 1: he was like, it's corpses of wood wood. Corpses corpsewood
- 15:55Speaker 1: is how it's how they named it. And you'll see
- 15:57Speaker 1: he likes like dark things like that. He's into to that.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So they complete the home after several several years and
- 16:06Speaker 1: they're out on the property and then they also and
- 16:08Speaker 1: in this time they build this three story chicken house. Now,
- 16:12Speaker 1: the first floor was built for chickens. The second floor
- 16:15Speaker 1: was something like also built for chickens or whatever. I think.
- 16:19Speaker 1: The first floor was like fee. The second floor was
- 16:21Speaker 1: like for the chickens to climb up in or whatever.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Now the third floor, mind you, there was never any
- 16:27Speaker 1: chickens in this. In this thing, the third floor was
- 16:30Speaker 1: known as the pink room. Now, the pink room was
- 16:33Speaker 1: for sexual pleasures, and they would go in there themselves
- 16:38Speaker 1: as also well as bringing guests up in there that
- 16:42Speaker 1: they got. Because even though they're out in Georgia and
- 16:46Speaker 1: it's the eighties or whatever, you know, they might be
- 16:52Speaker 1: acting cank on yeah, they might be acting like above
- 16:55Speaker 1: it all in church on Sunday, but they're out there
- 16:57Speaker 1: in the pink room. Yes, so uh so anyway, so
- 17:02Speaker 1: it was for them as well as guests that they
- 17:04Speaker 1: would bring out there. So on top of them being
- 17:07Speaker 1: gay and having a pleasure room and living off the grid.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So this is already some you know, especially for that
- 17:13Speaker 1: time frame.
- 17:14Speaker 2: These are this is falla rome.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Like the like, yeah, so this is this is like
- 17:20Speaker 1: a weird like a lot of weird things for these
- 17:21Speaker 1: people that have they've moved out here into this southern
- 17:25Speaker 1: area and they are doing all this strange stuff to them.
- 17:28Speaker 1: So I was on top of all that. Though they
- 17:30Speaker 1: are going to add that Charles was a member of
- 17:32Speaker 1: the Church of Satan and identified as an atheist, which
- 17:37Speaker 1: I believe those are contradictory because.
- 17:42Speaker 2: God or you don't, but that's what he was.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Though he's he's an odd ducks dude, don't Satan. Yes,
- 17:51Speaker 1: I think he mainly just liked the shock. I think
- 17:53Speaker 1: he just liked to shock the fuck out of people's.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Kind of like all that all the eighties, uh, that
- 18:00Speaker 2: metal bands. Yes, he with the imagery.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yes, I think he just liked to shock people. Maybe
- 18:05Speaker 1: he really believed it. I don't know. So he with
- 18:08Speaker 1: his beliefs and Church of Satan and all this stuff.
- 18:11Speaker 1: He decorated the manner and all sorts of Satanic things
- 18:14Speaker 1: like skulls, pentacles, statues. He had this giant pinnacles, pinacles, pentagrams.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You mean pentacles pentacles pentagrams?
- 18:23Speaker 2: You mean did you No?
- 18:24Speaker 1: I thought it said pentacles, That's what it says.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It was probably pentagram Okay, well, I'll look it.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Up when you're reading yours. But I thought pincacles was
- 18:31Speaker 1: a word. I thought. I'm pretty sure pentacles was a word, Stue, pentacles. Pentacles,
- 18:39Speaker 1: meaning a pentacle is a five pointed star, a pentagram. Okay,
- 18:44Speaker 1: so there you go. You're wrong. I knew it was pentacles.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I guess when I was worshiping the devil, we only
- 18:50Speaker 2: had pentagrams. We didn't call him pentacles.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Okay, okay. So anyway, so on top of all this
- 18:56Speaker 1: stuff that he's got going inside the house, uh, he
- 18:59Speaker 1: also remember it's off the grid. So also the light
- 19:02Speaker 1: in the house at night is all candle.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Light things made out of human flesh.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yes, and so he also added a giant, pink gargiryl
- 19:11Speaker 1: gargoyle over the home. So as you can imagine, like
- 19:15Speaker 1: I said, in small town Georgia in the late seventies
- 19:17Speaker 1: and early eighties, this is quite over the top for
- 19:21Speaker 1: this town. So and then we're gonna top all of
- 19:25Speaker 1: these things. They're out here. They're gay, they've got a
- 19:28Speaker 1: huge age difference, they're worshiping Satan, possibly not, we don't know.
- 19:33Speaker 1: They got their sexual room all this stuff. They're also
- 19:37Speaker 1: heavy infrequent drug users, so they would take LSD and
- 19:41Speaker 1: also had their own concoction called tutalou which consisted of alcohol,
- 19:46Speaker 1: paint thinner, and glue that they would huff to get high.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Nice. So just killing brain cells left and right.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yes, there's a lot. There's a lot going on at
- 19:55Speaker 1: this place out in the out in the woods.
- 19:59Speaker 2: In two, a seventeen year old by the name of
- 20:02Speaker 2: Avery Brock was hunting on the Corpsewood property when he
- 20:07Speaker 2: ran into the couple. Avery befriended Charles and Joseph and
- 20:12Speaker 2: even went up to the pink room with them to
- 20:14Speaker 2: participate in drugs and sex. They continued the friendship and
- 20:18Speaker 2: Charles let Avery hunt on the Corpsewood property and there
- 20:23Speaker 2: was no tension between any of them that.
- 20:25Speaker 1: There was some sort of tensions.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I don't think so sexual, There wasn't. They were getting
- 20:30Speaker 2: that released in the pink room and they had become friends.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Avery was living with a man named Tony West who
- 20:38Speaker 2: was around thirty years old. He told him about Charles
- 20:41Speaker 2: and Joseph in the Corpsewood Manor to Avery. Even though
- 20:46Speaker 2: the manor, this Corpse Wood Manor didn't have any electricity
- 20:49Speaker 2: or running water, what it did have, from what he
- 20:53Speaker 2: could tell, was it had some fancy furniture, the statues,
- 20:57Speaker 2: the decorps. It made it seem to him Avery that
- 21:00Speaker 2: Charles and Joseph were sitting on a lot of money.
- 21:03Speaker 2: So he lets Tony know about this, and Tony believes
- 21:06Speaker 2: that Charles and Joseph have a pile of money and
- 21:09Speaker 2: they're probably hiding it somewhere in the manner. So Tony
- 21:13Speaker 2: begins talking to Avery, and they decide that they're going
- 21:16Speaker 2: to rob Charles and Joseph at some point. They're just
- 21:19Speaker 2: gonna put this plan together, go out there and rap
- 21:22Speaker 2: these people.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Well, I mean, what are a seventeen year old and
- 21:26Speaker 1: a thirty year old and backwards Georgia gonna do with
- 21:30Speaker 1: their time? But I don't know, come up with it
- 21:32Speaker 1: that they have a bunch of money, which I guess
- 21:35Speaker 1: it does. Like I guess I would probably if I
- 21:37Speaker 1: was growing up, I would probably assume that they had
- 21:39Speaker 1: a bunch of money too, because people that have a
- 21:41Speaker 1: bunch of money live eccentric lifestyles like this, you know,
- 21:44Speaker 1: it's like this is there and then plus, like said,
- 21:47Speaker 1: he has all these like little statues and the furniture
- 21:50Speaker 1: and all the trappings and everything looked and the fact
- 21:53Speaker 1: that they built this castle themselves or whatever, but realistically
- 21:56Speaker 1: they didn't have any money. They lived in their while
- 22:00Speaker 1: they built this like brick by brick, they did all
- 22:02Speaker 1: this themselves. I mean, he had some money to get
- 22:05Speaker 1: its going, but they had to put in a lot
- 22:07Speaker 1: of their own labor to build this castle.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Everyone smelling that car.
- 22:13Speaker 1: It reminded me of that place we went to in
- 22:15Speaker 1: Colorado where he build it himself.
- 22:18Speaker 2: The Bishop Castle up there in the mountains.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It reminded me of looks like where we got our
- 22:23Speaker 1: five year olds with uh, what's it called altitude sickness.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Well, that's our going theory on that.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yes, yes, we didn't know what was going on, but
- 22:31Speaker 1: we think she was just I don't remember if we
- 22:33Speaker 1: told you guys this story, but we think she was
- 22:35Speaker 1: sensitive to the altitude because we just kept taking her
- 22:38Speaker 1: up and then she like start feeling sick and then
- 22:43Speaker 1: and then I had my whole debacle at the Colorado
- 22:45Speaker 1: Children's Hospital. They can go fuck off and then yeah,
- 22:49Speaker 1: so good. Yeah, they were like, we'd never even hurt
- 22:52Speaker 1: altitude sickness. Oh yeah, I guess that might be like
- 22:55Speaker 1: how are you how are you up in Colorado and
- 22:57Speaker 1: you haven't dealt with anyone with altitude, sickness or even
- 23:01Speaker 1: like check, Like I just came up with these words,
- 23:04Speaker 1: like what I've.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Heard of altitude and sickness. I've never heard him put together.
- 23:08Speaker 1: This is craziness, all right. So on December twelve, that's
- 23:11Speaker 1: not why I don't like them, though, that's a whole
- 23:12Speaker 1: nother story. Anyways. On December twelfth, nineteen eighty two, Avery
- 23:16Speaker 1: is invited to the manor, and this is when he
- 23:18Speaker 1: decides he's going to bring along Tony. And they bring
- 23:21Speaker 1: along Tony and then two more people. Now, the other
- 23:25Speaker 1: two people would be Tony's nephew, Joey West, and an
- 23:28Speaker 1: eighteen year old girl by the name of Teresa Hudgens. Now,
- 23:32Speaker 1: this was a first date for Teresa and Joey. She
- 23:35Speaker 1: was very surprised when Joey shows up a better home
- 23:38Speaker 1: with Avery and Tony as one would be. Yeah, so
- 23:42Speaker 1: Joey tells Teresa that his car broke down and that
- 23:44Speaker 1: they were gonna have to ride along with Tony and
- 23:49Speaker 1: Avery to go on a date.
- 23:52Speaker 2: So no, she no, I'm staying home. I'm watching TV.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta wash my hair.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Okay, Well, she decides to she wanted to see Joey.
- 24:01Speaker 1: So she decides she's gonna get in the car and
- 24:04Speaker 1: they inform her that they are going to go up
- 24:05Speaker 1: to Corpsewood Manor. Now she'd heard of this place, but
- 24:08Speaker 1: wasn't like she'd never been out there. Obviously, she wasn't
- 24:12Speaker 1: real comfortable going, but she liked Joey and they were like,
- 24:16Speaker 1: come on, are you scared? And everythink that, so come
- 24:18Speaker 1: on checking yep. So she goes, and I'm just gonna
- 24:20Speaker 1: tell you Teresa. Teresa survives this, but Teresa has made
- 24:25Speaker 1: her entire life about surviving this night, Like she's she goes,
- 24:32Speaker 1: She goes back to the manor and tell I found
- 24:34Speaker 1: her Facebook profile. She's like, this is her entire personality
- 24:39Speaker 1: is surviving this. You know, like some people like have
- 24:43Speaker 1: something like this happened to him when we get into it,
- 24:45Speaker 1: haven't happened to him? And then they move on with
- 24:46Speaker 1: their life.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Not not she stuck there.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's she's in it. This is her claim
- 24:53Speaker 1: to fame and she will.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Not Yes, she making money off of it.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Least I can't where she wrote a book or somebody
- 25:01Speaker 1: else wrote a book. But she's like people have written
- 25:04Speaker 1: books about this whole night in this incident and everything
- 25:07Speaker 1: like that, and she's been interviewed, she was on the
- 25:09Speaker 1: show that I watched, So I don't know if she's
- 25:12Speaker 1: making money or just like the like the fame of
- 25:16Speaker 1: it all maybe or knowing that she was there at
- 25:20Speaker 1: this whenever this happened.
- 25:23Speaker 2: They arrive at Corpsewood Manor and upon entering the home,
- 25:27Speaker 2: like Kara said, it's very creepy to Teresa and Joey.
- 25:30Speaker 2: There's skulls, satanic items laying around, there's no electricity, all
- 25:35Speaker 2: the candles are burning. Teresa goes in, she meets Charles
- 25:40Speaker 2: and Joseph and they all sit down. They have dinner
- 25:42Speaker 2: together after.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Also in the middle of fucking nowhere. And remember this,
- 25:45Speaker 1: this is like her going out there. This is like creepy, okay,
- 25:48Speaker 1: scary cabin in the woods, but worse because they actually
- 25:52Speaker 1: are just it's not just some creepy cabin. It's like
- 25:55Speaker 1: a creepy cabin with satanic stuff in it.
- 25:59Speaker 2: After dinner, Charles takes Avery, Tony, Teresa, and Joey up
- 26:02Speaker 2: to the pink room. Joseph decides to stay in the
- 26:05Speaker 2: home and clean up after dinner.
- 26:07Speaker 1: This is where I'm at. I'm not going to the
- 26:09Speaker 1: fucking peak group because.
- 26:11Speaker 2: But do they know what the pink room is till
- 26:13Speaker 2: they get there.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Well, I could just imagine. I don't know. I just
- 26:16Speaker 1: it just feels like there's a lot of human.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Stuff in there.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Stuff in there. Oh my god, this would take a shower, just.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Fluid remnants. Yes, it's a sweat and stuff, yes, looms.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And you okay, okay, okay.
- 26:35Speaker 2: While in the pink room, they start huffing this tutulu.
- 26:39Speaker 2: On top of this, they had already been drinking cheap
- 26:41Speaker 2: wine with their dinner. The group is all chatting in
- 26:44Speaker 2: the pink room. Thank god, it's just chatting.
- 26:47Speaker 1: There are like mattresses and stuff. There's like two mattresses in.
- 26:50Speaker 2: There, so it's probably stained with sweat. There's no way
- 26:53Speaker 2: to wash them.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yes, and you're out there no electricity in the Georgia humidity.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You're just revroun clean clean.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Okay. So they're up there chat and Avery's like, hey,
- 27:09Speaker 2: I need to go down. I need to get some
- 27:11Speaker 2: more drugs to hold some more tutuluudulu and he heads out.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Charles didn't think anything of this, and neither did anybody
- 27:20Speaker 2: else in the group. Because Charles and Avery are buddies.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yes, this is not an This does not stand out
- 27:26Speaker 1: to him as like, oh my god, this guy, he's
- 27:28Speaker 1: got to go get some Tutulu. You know, whoever come
- 27:32Speaker 1: up with that name?
- 27:33Speaker 2: I don't know, but probably these guys. Yep.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Now, a few minutes later, Avery shows back up in
- 27:39Speaker 1: the pink Room, but this time he is holding a
- 27:41Speaker 1: rifle that he got out of the back of his truck. Now,
- 27:44Speaker 1: Charles actually made a joke about this, because again they're friends.
- 27:48Speaker 1: He's just like, I mean, who knows, who the fuck knows?
- 27:50Speaker 1: I mean, we're out in the backwoods of Georgia. There's
- 27:53Speaker 1: like guns and all sorts of things. It's just like
- 27:55Speaker 1: a common occurrence or whatever. I watched this. I saw
- 27:59Speaker 1: this TikTok where this girl was like she had a
- 28:02Speaker 1: real thick Southern accent. She's like, now, don't you now,
- 28:04Speaker 1: you city people, don't you be coming out here the
- 28:06Speaker 1: country And then complain about when we're doing us country
- 28:08Speaker 1: people are doing country things like shooting our guns off.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That's we were out here.
- 28:12Speaker 2: First She's like, well, it's true, don't be coming out
- 28:15Speaker 2: here harassing this because.
- 28:17Speaker 1: It's like, you know, people are wanting to get rid
- 28:19Speaker 1: of now. Everybody wants away from like these cities and
- 28:22Speaker 1: they want to move out and live like a simpler lifestyle.
- 28:24Speaker 1: They're like, oh, let's be homesteaders or whatever. Then they
- 28:26Speaker 1: come out there and they complain about all.
- 28:28Speaker 2: The people that say, what's that noise? Is that a gunshot?
- 28:30Speaker 1: Oh?
- 28:30Speaker 2: My god?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Yes?
- 28:33Speaker 1: Anyway, so he Charles is just joking about the gun
- 28:36Speaker 1: or whatever and doesn't think He still doesn't think anything's wrong.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Keep in mind they're high as well now, but soon
- 28:45Speaker 1: there would be no joking because Avery actually lunges towards Charles,
- 28:48Speaker 1: grabs him by the neck and then holds a knife
- 28:51Speaker 1: up to him and begins asking him where is all
- 28:53Speaker 1: the money. Charles explains to Avery, like he's still calm
- 28:57Speaker 1: in all this, probably because he's on drugs. He's like,
- 29:00Speaker 1: there is no money, Like, we don't have any money
- 29:04Speaker 1: in this house, and the little bit of money that
- 29:06Speaker 1: we do, it's actually in a local bank, So like,
- 29:10Speaker 1: I can't give you anything right now, it's closed for high. Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So Avery didn't believe Charles, so he heads out of
- 29:18Speaker 1: the Chicken house and heads into the main home to
- 29:20Speaker 1: talk to Joseph to see if he can confront him
- 29:23Speaker 1: and ask him where the money is. Meanwhile, Charles and
- 29:26Speaker 1: all the others are all just sitting up in the
- 29:27Speaker 1: pink room trying to understand what is going on. Is
- 29:30Speaker 1: he serious, is he really or is this just him
- 29:33Speaker 1: fucking around? And like I said, they're all drinking, they're
- 29:37Speaker 1: all doing drugs. Next thing you know, they hear multiple
- 29:40Speaker 1: gunshots from the home.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Once Tony heard the shots fired, he forced Charles, Joey,
- 29:46Speaker 2: and Theresa down the ladder and into corpsewood manor. Upon
- 29:52Speaker 2: entering the home, they are greeted by Avery. This is
- 29:55Speaker 2: also when they see that Avery has shot Joseph as
- 29:57Speaker 2: well as the two dogs at point blank. Now they're
- 30:02Speaker 2: all dead. Joseph's said, the dogs are dead. Charles sees this.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Jesus what They're dead. Everybody's dead.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I just need people to understand we should.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Have triggered warning. This not about the people dying, but
- 30:18Speaker 1: the two dogs dying.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Third Masters, they should have ate somebody's face off.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Probably should have trained him better. He should well, I mean,
- 30:26Speaker 1: if you just yeah, as soon as the gunny, they
- 30:27Speaker 1: should have lunged. They should have lunged.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Now Charles runs toward his partner, and this is when
- 30:34Speaker 2: Tony he has the.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Gun some yeah, he he took the gun from avers.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Remember Tony's the older one, Tony's the thirty year old.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Now Tony shoots Charles. Charles falls to the floor. This
- 30:46Speaker 2: whole time, Joey and Teresa are like, what the fuck
- 30:48Speaker 2: is going on? So they're trying to figure out how
- 30:50Speaker 2: they're gonna stay alive in the situation because they just
- 30:53Speaker 2: witnessed double homicide plus the dogs. They have no clue.
- 30:59Speaker 2: They didn't have any clue that any of this was
- 31:01Speaker 2: going to happen.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Obviously, Yeah, they weren't part of this. At some point,
- 31:04Speaker 1: Teresa runs out in the woods. Joey runs after her.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Of course, she's also like, is Joey part of Like
- 31:10Speaker 1: she doesn't know who to trust because Joey's related to Tony.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Is Joey part of this? She runs out to the woods.
- 31:16Speaker 1: He comes back at her because they start screaming like
- 31:18Speaker 1: we're going to kill you if you do anything or whatever.
- 31:21Speaker 1: So Joey goes and gets her from the woods. He's like,
- 31:23Speaker 1: you've got to come back in here with me, And
- 31:25Speaker 1: so she had to make the decision, like do I
- 31:28Speaker 1: go along with this? So I keep running through the woods,
- 31:30Speaker 1: but again stir on this forty acre thing out in
- 31:32Speaker 1: the middle of nowhere.
- 31:33Speaker 2: What is she going to do?
- 31:34Speaker 1: Like, she don't even know where she's at, So she
- 31:36Speaker 1: has to make the decision to go back in with
- 31:38Speaker 1: Joey and deal with and hope that they don't shoot her,
- 31:42Speaker 1: or spend the.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Night in the woods and then hope you can find your.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Way out in the morning, yeah, or before they find
- 31:47Speaker 1: you know, before they find her, Yes.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Tony and they every start ransacking the house trying to
- 31:52Speaker 2: find all this cash that they believe is heading there. Now,
- 31:55Speaker 2: after a while, they don't find anything, so they all
- 31:58Speaker 2: load up in Charles's jeep. They forced the two teenagers
- 32:01Speaker 2: into the car with them. They also set the manner
- 32:04Speaker 2: on fire in an attempt to destroy all the evidence.
- 32:07Speaker 1: The only thing they were able to find was this
- 32:10Speaker 1: like gold instrument or something, but they tried to lift
- 32:12Speaker 1: it and it was too heavy, so they just set
- 32:14Speaker 1: to leave it behind. It was like a gold like
- 32:18Speaker 1: I don't know what it was, but I can't remember. No,
- 32:21Speaker 1: it was like something big, like a what's the thing?
- 32:24Speaker 2: A harp?
- 32:25Speaker 1: Or something like that. A golden harp bird.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Actually was a goldener? Was it just gold plated?
- 32:29Speaker 1: It might have just been gold plated. These were not
- 32:31Speaker 1: the smartest people, you know, Tony and Old Avery.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, if you thought it was gold you get that
- 32:36Speaker 2: damn thing in the car. Anyway, they head over to
- 32:39Speaker 2: their home and they tell Joey and Teresa that if
- 32:42Speaker 2: they tell anyone about this, they will kill them too.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Tony and Avery head out and Charles jeep and the
- 32:48Speaker 2: plan is that they're going to flee to Mexico.
- 32:51Speaker 1: You know what, when I'm thinking of Tutulou, I'm thinking
- 32:53Speaker 1: of Tutulou. Motherfuck us. That's all I can think of.
- 32:58Speaker 1: From a hangover fucker.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Anyway, gay boy, I'm gonna have to watch that again.
- 33:12Speaker 1: That's who the one guy makes me from the false prophet.
- 33:15Speaker 1: That was not that guy, but the what's his name
- 33:19Speaker 1: he's won a part of the wolf pack. He's the
- 33:20Speaker 1: brother in law Zach Galifanakis. Yeah, it's whatever his character is.
- 33:25Speaker 1: It's like him plus Michael Scott from the office. If
- 33:27Speaker 1: you could buy like put like a person like that,
- 33:30Speaker 1: And that's who the false prophet guy was that took
- 33:33Speaker 1: over the FLDS and said he was the prophet or whatever.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so we'll talk about.
- 33:37Speaker 1: That later, but anyways, that's the guy. So while Tony
- 33:41Speaker 1: and Avery are on the run, it would take four
- 33:43Speaker 1: days before anyone discovered the bodies of Charles and Joseph. Now,
- 33:47Speaker 1: a friend of the couples came by to fill them
- 33:48Speaker 1: in about they had like a friend or something that
- 33:50Speaker 1: was in the hospital. And because again they're they're off
- 33:53Speaker 1: the grids, there's no phone or anything, so I think
- 33:56Speaker 1: one of their friends was in the hospital or something
- 33:58Speaker 1: was happening. And he said, hey, I'll come back in
- 33:59Speaker 1: a couple days and I'll update you. So here's the
- 34:01Speaker 1: friend coming back. So he walks, he comes in and
- 34:05Speaker 1: sees this like horrific scene. I mean, the bodies have
- 34:08Speaker 1: been out there for four days now, or at least
- 34:11Speaker 1: it was December, so I mean it can still be warm.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Anyways, with no like temperature control or anything in the home.
- 34:20Speaker 1: So he notifies authorities and they enter the home and
- 34:22Speaker 1: find bloodstains on the walls. The whole house has been ransacked,
- 34:25Speaker 1: furnitures turned over, and they were able to recover some
- 34:29Speaker 1: of the bullet casings. So they go ahead and bring
- 34:32Speaker 1: in the Georgia bere of Investigation because they have no
- 34:34Speaker 1: fucking clue in the safe place, because this is like
- 34:36Speaker 1: they come in and there's this place been ransacked. These
- 34:39Speaker 1: guys are dead out here, the two dogs are dead,
- 34:41Speaker 1: blood all over the place, Satanic stuff everywhere out here,
- 34:45Speaker 1: in this creepy ass castle and stuff like that. They're like,
- 34:47Speaker 1: this is a way above.
- 34:48Speaker 2: I don't know where where where are we starting with this, Bob,
- 34:51Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Calling the GBI.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Just don't go in that pancro God, God damn it,
- 34:57Speaker 2: don't go in there.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Don't turn on the black line.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Oh well, police in Georgia are processing the crime scene.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Tony and Avery had been on the run and had
- 35:11Speaker 2: actually murdered somebody else. During this time. They stopped in Vicksburg, Mississippi,
- 35:16Speaker 2: where they wanted to switch out the jeep for another vehicle,
- 35:18Speaker 2: just in case they thought police might be onto them.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Well, they went something more discreet than a so they
- 35:24Speaker 1: were looking specifically for something running the mill.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Yes, this is where they come across a man by
- 35:30Speaker 2: the name of Kirby Phelps. He's twenty six years old.
- 35:33Speaker 2: He's a Navy lieutenant he was sleeping behind the wheel
- 35:36Speaker 2: of his Toyota, and they forced him out of the car.
- 35:39Speaker 2: They lead him into the trees, and when he tried
- 35:41Speaker 2: to run, they shot and killed him. Their planning to
- 35:43Speaker 2: flee to Mexico, however, was not going to happen because
- 35:48Speaker 2: Tony and Avery had a falling out as they were
- 35:50Speaker 2: passing through Texas.
- 35:52Speaker 1: You mean, these two dumbasses, thirty year old and seventeen
- 35:54Speaker 1: year old, that never got any money or anything like
- 35:57Speaker 1: to show for what they did in their brands. You
- 36:01Speaker 1: mean that they didn't get along to go along.
- 36:04Speaker 2: They ain't even gonna have money to buy chick order.
- 36:07Speaker 1: No, you can't. They don't have any money. They accomplish
- 36:10Speaker 1: nothing with all of this but a complete and then
- 36:14Speaker 1: they left two witnesses that know exactly who they were
- 36:17Speaker 1: at the back of the place. They're idiots.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Somehow, somewhere along the way, they abandoned the jeep
- 36:24Speaker 2: in Louisiana. Somewhere Louisiana police run across it. They run
- 36:29Speaker 2: the plates and they find out that it was restored
- 36:31Speaker 2: to somebody in Georgia. Police in Louisiana contact the local
- 36:35Speaker 2: police in Georgia let them know that they made that
- 36:38Speaker 2: they discovered this jeep. Well, while this information is coming in,
- 36:44Speaker 2: Teresa takes it upon herself. She's like, I need to
- 36:47Speaker 2: go forward and tell somebody what the hell happened. So
- 36:50Speaker 2: she does. She goes in, she lets them, lets police
- 36:53Speaker 2: know this happened. This is who you need to be
- 36:55Speaker 2: looking for. So she I guess she had a lot
- 36:58Speaker 2: weighing on her mind and she was ready to be
- 37:00Speaker 2: done with it.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, Stu Welo sound like what happened?
- 37:05Speaker 2: Yes?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Because keep in mind, they've got this crazy ass
- 37:09Speaker 1: like imagine the police. They've got this crazy ass crime
- 37:11Speaker 1: scene and they have zero clue, like we know what
- 37:14Speaker 1: happened because all we just told you guys or whatever,
- 37:16Speaker 1: but they have no clues. They finally get this call
- 37:18Speaker 1: in from Louisiana. They're like, okay, this is our first
- 37:21Speaker 1: piece of evidence, but they still have zero ideal until
- 37:25Speaker 1: Teresa comes in and helps him out. Now, with this information,
- 37:29Speaker 1: they issue and arrest warrants for Tony and Avery. At
- 37:33Speaker 1: this point, Avery calls his mother from a pay phone
- 37:35Speaker 1: because again remember Avery seventeen years old. He lets her
- 37:39Speaker 1: know where he is and she informs him that there
- 37:42Speaker 1: is a warrant out for his arrest. Now, for some reason,
- 37:45Speaker 1: Avery goes and tells a I guess he just wants
- 37:49Speaker 1: he's seventeen, He's got this a lot weighing on him
- 37:52Speaker 1: because remember he was friends with Charles and Joseph before
- 37:56Speaker 1: Tony talked him into Robbingham and stuff like that. And
- 37:59Speaker 1: I mean he knew him them personally, you know, in
- 38:02Speaker 1: a yes, intimately, yes, he knew them. So he goes
- 38:08Speaker 1: and tells this gas station intendant that what he had done.
- 38:11Speaker 1: And I'm guessing it's to get this off his chest.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And I'm guessing he probably wasn't gonna turn didn't want
- 38:17Speaker 1: to turn himself into police, but he figured maybe he
- 38:18Speaker 1: tells somebody. So the gas station attendant contacts police and
- 38:24Speaker 1: they were there very quickly. The local police there came
- 38:27Speaker 1: and picked up Avery. Now Tony was still on the run, however,
- 38:30Speaker 1: would not take long because on Christmas Eve, he he
- 38:33Speaker 1: decided to drive back to the Georgia area into Chattanooga
- 38:41Speaker 1: that where they were from or whatever, and he runs
- 38:44Speaker 1: out of gas. Well he gets just he's just so
- 38:46Speaker 1: tired and defeated from the whole ordeal. He's like, fuck
- 38:48Speaker 1: him out of gas. Everything. He's like, he just goes
- 38:50Speaker 1: up to the police and turns himself in. He's like,
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm tired.
- 38:55Speaker 2: I get sandwich.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Yes, So that's for That's how they ended up being caught.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I mean, it wasn't the Great Escape or anything like that.
- 39:05Speaker 2: No couple of couple of In nineteen eighty three, Avery
- 39:09Speaker 2: does plead guilty to killing Joseph and he sent us
- 39:12Speaker 2: to three consecutive life terms. Tony was charged with killing Charles. However,
- 39:17Speaker 2: he is not going to plead guilty. He claimed that
- 39:21Speaker 2: the only reason that he killed Charles was it was
- 39:24Speaker 2: for revenge for embarrassment suffered by Avery when he allowed
- 39:28Speaker 2: Charles to perform oral sex on him. However, at the trial,
- 39:32Speaker 2: they claimed that Charles had spiked the wine with LSD.
- 39:36Speaker 2: And this is all due to hallucinations.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Basically, Yes, he had two different stories go when he
- 39:43Speaker 1: first story was I was defending Avery, he was humiliated
- 39:48Speaker 1: because he was given oral sex against his will and
- 39:51Speaker 1: stuff like that, which was not true. Avery was a
- 39:53Speaker 1: willing participant in this. And then they changed their story
- 39:57Speaker 1: when they went to actually on to trial and blamed
- 39:59Speaker 1: it on the drug.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Yes, but they can't prove whether the wine was spiked
- 40:05Speaker 2: with or without unless they the other people agree with
- 40:10Speaker 2: this theory that we're drinking the wine. The defense attorney
- 40:15Speaker 2: really leaned into the Satanic panic that was going on
- 40:18Speaker 2: at the time, and so that Charles basically was performing
- 40:21Speaker 2: rituals on them to cause them to do these things
- 40:24Speaker 2: against their will. The jury wasn't buying it, and they
- 40:27Speaker 2: found him guilty and he was sentenced to death. However,
- 40:31Speaker 2: he appealed his case and he was able to plead
- 40:33Speaker 2: guilty in exchange for a life sentence.
- 40:37Speaker 1: You know, I was proud of the dury because I
- 40:38Speaker 1: knew it could depend on who was on that jury
- 40:40Speaker 1: could go different ways. But they interviewed locals that were
- 40:43Speaker 1: in there and they said, actually, you know, because you
- 40:46Speaker 1: would think that people in the South are like, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 1: Bible thumping, even if you're you're out here and you're
- 40:53Speaker 1: gay and you're like the Satan and all the stuff
- 40:55Speaker 1: that they're going to, but actually they really are. They
- 40:58Speaker 1: really are about the freedom and stuff with that. So
- 41:00Speaker 1: whenever they internet, they're like, well, you know, I don't
- 41:02Speaker 1: agree with it, but this is we're free out here.
- 41:04Speaker 1: This is all about. So it's funny because you would
- 41:09Speaker 1: think that possibly. I mean, it can still happen in
- 41:12Speaker 1: some areas down itself, but especially I feel like Georgia
- 41:16Speaker 1: is one of those places kind of like they a
- 41:18Speaker 1: little bit. They can get eccentric out there in the country,
- 41:21Speaker 1: you know, I think like Savannah and stuff like that.
- 41:25Speaker 1: You know, it's a it's a corkkey. Yes, we were
- 41:31Speaker 1: going to hit that on our Are you sweating? I
- 41:34Speaker 1: shouldn't be, Okay, I don't you know what we're doing
- 41:39Speaker 1: when we get this new Okay, when we're out. We
- 41:41Speaker 1: live out here in West Texas and real estate is
- 41:43Speaker 1: like freaking expensive, so you get you got to pay
- 41:46Speaker 1: a whole bunch of money for not a lot where
- 41:49Speaker 1: we're moving. We can get a house with for cheaper,
- 41:55Speaker 1: with more space for all these children's and then we
- 41:58Speaker 1: can also have a off slash podcasting room so I
- 42:02Speaker 1: can stop sitting in a freaking outdoor chair.
- 42:05Speaker 2: There is one house, No, we're not buying.
- 42:08Speaker 1: The still wants this old house that's forty five hundred.
- 42:14Speaker 2: It's a mid century modern with a.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Yes, the stupid bathroom has a Roman column.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Hollywood Regency style.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Terrible. I don't It's old, but not in a charming way.
- 42:27Speaker 1: It's old in a tacky orange carpet type way. No,
- 42:31Speaker 1: it doesn't have orange carpet, but.
- 42:32Speaker 2: That's the vive carpet anywhere.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I know. That's also a problem. I don't want tile
- 42:37Speaker 1: in the bedrooms. Oh there is car No, there is
- 42:40Speaker 1: carpet and looks old. It looks old and dirty.
- 42:43Speaker 2: It might be.
- 42:44Speaker 1: I mean, our children licked the floor. We can't be
- 42:46Speaker 1: having them. We would have to rip out all the
- 42:50Speaker 1: carpet right away and put new carpet down. It's not
- 42:54Speaker 1: all carpet. I'm okay with carpet. Like our house that
- 42:56Speaker 1: we have has carpet, and yes, people were on the
- 42:58Speaker 1: carpet before. Would I prefer not to have carpet. Yes,
- 43:02Speaker 1: However that house looked it looked dirty, which was why
- 43:07Speaker 1: it was pretty. Why the price the price for forty
- 43:10Speaker 1: five hundred square feet was not which you would that was.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Lower than that rose wall paper with that green towel.
- 43:16Speaker 1: How can you go wrong with listen, I'm okay with
- 43:18Speaker 1: quirky stew Okay, I mean I'm not going to do
- 43:20Speaker 1: the pink room, but okay with quirky.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Quirky not kinky.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Yeah, So anyways we are we're on the long drawn
- 43:28Speaker 1: out thing of our house hunting. So this is going
- 43:32Speaker 1: to go really well for us, because it does not
- 43:34Speaker 1: go well when we house hunt. There's a lot of
- 43:36Speaker 1: strife and we have a newborn doesn't and yeah, so
- 43:41Speaker 1: this is a real test of the relationship.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Again. Remember when we're remodeling the bathroom at the last house.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, because student, because Stu is boring as fuck.
- 43:55Speaker 1: He wants everything millennial grays and I'm like, no, I
- 43:59Speaker 1: want things to be colorful, and no, he's always just
- 44:03Speaker 1: worried about resale value. It's like, when am I ever
- 44:05Speaker 1: going to get to just fix up a house how
- 44:06Speaker 1: I want it to look? Yes, this one, we were
- 44:09Speaker 1: not going to do it because we had every intention
- 44:11Speaker 1: as soon as they would let me leave, then I
- 44:13Speaker 1: would we would be moving. So we did this whole
- 44:17Speaker 1: house is just exactly. We didn't even hang anything.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Couple, what did we hang? Hung that stupid plant thing
- 44:25Speaker 2: over there in the kitchen?
- 44:26Speaker 1: Oh, okay, whatever, anyway, so you'll have that to look
- 44:30Speaker 1: forward to listening to us probably bitch and moan at
- 44:32Speaker 1: each other about which house to purchase or whatever. The
- 44:36Speaker 1: good news is is there's quite a few options for
- 44:38Speaker 1: us to look at, so I think we should be
- 44:39Speaker 1: able to find something that's in our price range. And
- 44:42Speaker 1: it again, it is much cheaper out there than it
- 44:45Speaker 1: is here. So we can get a little bit bigger
- 44:46Speaker 1: horror house for you. So I can have a podcasting
- 44:49Speaker 1: room or like an office slash podcast, so I can
- 44:52Speaker 1: stop sitting in these fucking outdoor chairs, although we'll probably
- 44:56Speaker 1: still be sitting in him because we have no furniture
- 44:59Speaker 1: like that.
- 44:59Speaker 2: So anyways, really don't all right?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Do you have your y'all?
- 45:03Speaker 2: Need I do? Okay, I finally found one. It's short,
- 45:06Speaker 2: it's sweet, it's to the point.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Because I want to get to my sleepy time drink
- 45:11Speaker 1: that I have. It's so good. Yes, it's like it
- 45:15Speaker 1: knocks me clean out. So maybe that baby is waking
- 45:18Speaker 1: up at night, but I can't hear check his sock.
- 45:21Speaker 1: He's figured it out. Yes, we got the sack. I
- 45:24Speaker 1: think we were talking about the salt last night.
- 45:26Speaker 2: We had to break down and buy one, yes, because
- 45:29Speaker 2: he was spitting up.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Yes, to choke him down, and we talked him. We
- 45:33Speaker 1: took him to a chiropractor though, and it seems between
- 45:36Speaker 1: that and new bottles, it seems to have fixed the situation. Okay,
- 45:39Speaker 1: we can't go go on. What's your y'all need?
- 45:41Speaker 2: Jesus man arrested for robbing Dollar General store twice in
- 45:48Speaker 2: one day, the same store, the same store.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Well, they wouldn't have seen it coming. They've been like,
- 45:56Speaker 1: we've already been wrong. There's no one it happened again
- 46:00Speaker 1: by the same person.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Absolutely not, absolutely not not even get robbed twice in
- 46:04Speaker 2: the same day by different people. Karma has already come.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it's already. That's You're just You're like, I'm good,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I can I can go buy a lottery ticket now, yeah,
- 46:13Speaker 1: might wins some.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Florida or not Florida Florida. Coming from from wr WDRB
- 46:23Speaker 2: wherever that is. January twenty four, twenty twenty five, Louisville, Kentucky,
- 46:29Speaker 2: A man is behind bars after allegedly robbing a Jeffersonville
- 46:32Speaker 2: retail store twice on Friday afternoon. The Dollar General door
- 46:37Speaker 2: at what did I say?
- 46:39Speaker 1: Dollar General Door Wow store.
- 46:42Speaker 2: At seventeen fifty Allison Lane was robbed two separate times
- 46:45Speaker 2: in the span up four hours, according to Jefferson Police.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Just four hours.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Are probably wasn't even a shift change in there, right
- 46:53Speaker 3: The first robbery happened at about one point thirty pm
- 46:56Speaker 3: when a man reached across the counter and stole cash,
- 46:59Speaker 3: then fled the scene.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Then around five point thirty pm, the same man came back.
- 47:05Speaker 1: The cash hasn't even had a chance to get re
- 47:10Speaker 1: right whatever restocked in there with all the customers.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I mean, how long did it take for the police
- 47:15Speaker 2: to come? They did the police report. He was waiting
- 47:17Speaker 2: around the corner. He's like, all right, good, they're.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Gone, but he already took the money.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Employees immediately recognized him from the previous incident and they
- 47:26Speaker 2: called police. Police said the man, identified as John Towns,
- 47:31Speaker 2: was arrested during the second robbery attempt. When interviewed by police,
- 47:35Speaker 2: town said he was the world's dumbest criminal when he
- 47:39Speaker 2: returned to rob the same store. Towns is charged with
- 47:44Speaker 2: two counts of robbery and is being held at the
- 47:46Speaker 2: Clark County Jail.
- 47:48Speaker 1: The end short and sweet, like you said, okay, all right,
- 47:54Speaker 1: well that is our case for this week. Creepy manner
- 47:58Speaker 1: around in Oh so, yeah, it burnt down, so there
- 48:01Speaker 1: is still the remnants. You can go see it. And
- 48:03Speaker 1: Teresa did go take a picture next to the burnt
- 48:06Speaker 1: down there's just a few bricks like standing up whatever,
- 48:10Speaker 1: and they claim if you steal a brick from there,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you'll be cursed.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yes, I'm not scaling o bricks from there, especially the
- 48:20Speaker 2: pank ron.
- 48:21Speaker 1: And I just want to clarify whenever we say said they,
- 48:24Speaker 1: because when they started the fire whatever, it didn't. It's
- 48:27Speaker 1: like a brick home. It didn't burn down like the
- 48:31Speaker 1: like they thought it would. So that's why when the
- 48:33Speaker 1: police walked in they could still see all the everything
- 48:35Speaker 1: was pretty much still. But if eventually it deteriorated down
- 48:39Speaker 1: until nothing, yes.
- 48:41Speaker 2: The bricks the mortar started falling away.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Yes, anyways, all right, well that is our case for
- 48:46Speaker 1: this week. And I guess we're gonna try to get
- 48:50Speaker 1: to shoot the Pooh out and then we'll see what's happens. Guys,
- 48:53Speaker 1: we're taking the recording or equipment and then we'll just
- 48:57Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see what happened. Can't make any promises though, No,
- 49:04Speaker 1: it's rough with the all these child it's hard doing
- 49:07Speaker 1: it getting it done when we're at home with all
- 49:09Speaker 1: these children. So let's just add in the road. So
- 49:13Speaker 1: all right, well, I guess we will see you next time.
- 49:15Speaker 1: By everyone say Bye Steve, Bye Steve.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Don't you know it's bad to be SUPERSTI shots by nothing.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Elsin's working, and it's pretty learning and sick of this
- 49:35Speaker 2: worthy I can
