- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumps. After ten yard line. Second to day free
- 0:09Speaker 1: wide receivers now in motion, has Puppas left or right,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Julius Jones a single setback Matt pump Fecks looking at
- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Pumpas and
- 0:26Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What up?
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is hog Talgs Preview Edition Week four. I am
- 0:36Speaker 1: Michael Bumps along with Nasa Choby. The Hawks are going
- 0:40Speaker 1: to Florida, going out to m Ia to play the Dolphins.
- 0:43Speaker 1: But before we get into them, let's check out this
- 0:45Speaker 1: injury update. Thanks bump Well. Head coach p Carroll step
- 0:48Speaker 1: to the podium is he does each and every week
- 0:50Speaker 1: and gave a bunch of injury updates on our long
- 0:52Speaker 1: list of injuries, starting up first with Jamal Adams, who
- 0:55Speaker 1: left Sunday's game with a groin injury. Yeah, he's pretty sure.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Just talk to him a little while ago. He's pretty
- 1:00Speaker 1: sore right now, and we just keep going day to
- 1:03Speaker 1: day and see what happens. He's massive treatments, you know,
- 1:06Speaker 1: to try to accelerate the return and all that he's doing.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Like some of our guys do. I wouldn't you know.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I wouldn't put anything past him that he couldn't pull off.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So at this point he's working really hard at it
- 1:16Speaker 1: and we'll see what happens. We don't know enough to
- 1:18Speaker 1: tell you about the weekend at this time. On the
- 1:20Speaker 1: positive side, Chris Carson, Ethan Postic and Damian Lewis definitely
- 1:24Speaker 1: seem to be on the up and up. All three
- 1:26Speaker 1: of those guys who are out to walk through today,
- 1:28Speaker 1: they're all out there and participated in the full walk through.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Chris has really sounding positive. Um, Damien looked pretty good
- 1:35Speaker 1: and Postic was all right. So might get a real
- 1:38Speaker 1: good turn from those three guys. And finally special Teams
- 1:40Speaker 1: captain and heart and soul of this football team Nico Thorpe,
- 1:43Speaker 1: who missed Sunday's game with the Groyn Injuri. He's hoping
- 1:46Speaker 1: you get to go this week. Nico's trying to play
- 1:48Speaker 1: this week. He's gonna try to go for it. We'll
- 1:50Speaker 1: see how how he's doing. We gotta buy as much
- 1:52Speaker 1: time as possible with the growing thing, and so we'll
- 1:55Speaker 1: see how he goes. All right, bump before we get
- 1:57Speaker 1: going into this show, I'd be remissed if I didn't. Man,
- 2:00Speaker 1: don't forget every Thursday night at seven pm, it's Hawks
- 2:03Speaker 1: Live on seven ten ESPN Seattle that my boy, Michael
- 2:07Speaker 1: Bumpus and Paul Moyer prepare you for every game with
- 2:09Speaker 1: their insight analysis, player interviews in a behind the scenes
- 2:12Speaker 1: look at the next Seahawks opponent, the Miami Dolphins. Let's
- 2:16Speaker 1: get into it. Who's who's stats? Who was next? I
- 2:24Speaker 1: will tell you who was next, m Ia. That Miami Dolphins.
- 2:28Speaker 1: They're one and two. They lost to the Pagris and
- 2:31Speaker 1: the Bills, and they beat the Jags, so that's not
- 2:33Speaker 1: saying much. They got their first win of the season
- 2:36Speaker 1: on Thursday Night Football AF their color rush Jersey's on
- 2:39Speaker 1: thirty one to thirteen. Fitzpatrick is over there, Davonte, A
- 2:44Speaker 1: team we should beat, though, right it's not safe to
- 2:46Speaker 1: say next. I mean looking at them, they're one and two.
- 2:49Speaker 1: They've had losses to the Patriots and the Bills. They
- 2:51Speaker 1: beat the Jags last week on Thursday Night football. Just
- 2:55Speaker 1: looking at it, you look at the Seahawks, they match
- 2:56Speaker 1: them up on paper. This is definitely a game I
- 2:58Speaker 1: think the Seahawks should be favorite in and should handle Miami.
- 3:01Speaker 1: They got off the night last week, beat a Jacksonville
- 3:03Speaker 1: team that's been struggling. They played the Bills, who've been
- 3:06Speaker 1: playing pretty well. They lost to them and dropped one
- 3:08Speaker 1: of the Patriots. So honestly, I definitely think this is
- 3:10Speaker 1: a game that they should definitely take a game they
- 3:13Speaker 1: should take all you Dubbers, you dogs, you Huskies out asking.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's out there. He's playing decent football. He's rushed for
- 3:21Speaker 1: forty yards forty six and sixty six last week. In
- 3:24Speaker 1: the past game he has about ninety yards. So if
- 3:26Speaker 1: there's I wouldn't say these Husky guys are gonna cheer
- 3:29Speaker 1: for the Dolphins. But you guys have a guy that
- 3:32Speaker 1: you can root for out there in Miles Gasking. This
- 3:37Speaker 1: football team isn't the best in any category, and they're
- 3:41Speaker 1: not the worst in any category. They're kind of the
- 3:44Speaker 1: bottom half of everything, right. They're good enough to where
- 3:47Speaker 1: if you sleep on them, they could beat you. But
- 3:50Speaker 1: they shouldn't beat you. When you just look at the numbers.
- 3:52Speaker 1: A total offensive Hawks ranked ninth, they're ranked twenty six.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Pass offense Hawks are ranked fifth. They're ranked twenty fifth.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So that means this defense is gonna be able to
- 4:02Speaker 1: handle this pass offense. We're gonna see it all turn around.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I got to remind the people they played the Falcons. Okay,
- 4:08Speaker 1: they played the Patriots. Julie Ellman didn't expect that performance,
- 4:11Speaker 1: but he did have a great performance. And then last
- 4:14Speaker 1: week they played Dak Presscott and the Cowboys dack through
- 4:16Speaker 1: for a bunch of yards. Last year, it's got some ballers.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So maybe this is the week that they get the
- 4:21Speaker 1: past game under control. This has to be the week.
- 4:23Speaker 1: This absolutely, without question, has to be the week the Dolphins,
- 4:26Speaker 1: like you said, they are a pretty middle of the
- 4:28Speaker 1: road football team. They don't have any receivers that are
- 4:30Speaker 1: gonna impress you crazily like we've seen in the Falcons.
- 4:34Speaker 1: There's no Julio running through. There's no Cam Ridley, there's
- 4:36Speaker 1: no Gallop, there's none of those kind of guys that
- 4:39Speaker 1: are coming out. There's no Edelman. So I think this
- 4:40Speaker 1: is a game that the Seahawks pass defense really should
- 4:43Speaker 1: get off this chnide because unfortunately, when you look at
- 4:45Speaker 1: the Seahawks and the Dolphins put together, when you get
- 4:47Speaker 1: into defensive categories, Seahawks are a thirty second dead last
- 4:50Speaker 1: and total defense pass defense dead last at thirty second
- 4:53Speaker 1: as well, given up four hundred thirty yards per game.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I think these numbers, I'm not gonna try to put
- 4:59Speaker 1: a Seahawks been on it. They're not good, right, But
- 5:02Speaker 1: I think these numbers are gonna get right starting this week.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And I think that's gonna be a trend as we
- 5:05Speaker 1: move forward, as they kind of get some things figured
- 5:07Speaker 1: out defensively, all right, I think they will. If they don't,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I will panic. I will panic if they don't this week,
- 5:12Speaker 1: all right, But I think they will. This is the
- 5:14Speaker 1: week to do it. But now let's get to know
- 5:16Speaker 1: these Mammi Dolphins. Let's talk about their history a little bit.
- 5:19Speaker 1: No your history, so know your history. The Seahawks and
- 5:24Speaker 1: the Dolphins all time, Miami leads a series eight to four,
- 5:28Speaker 1: the last meeting the Seahawks one twelve ten in the
- 5:31Speaker 1: season opener back in twenty sixteen, with this last second
- 5:35Speaker 1: touchdown to Doug Baldwin from the two no game, Christin Michael,
- 5:41Speaker 1: playfake the low? Are you passing it back down? Touch
- 5:45Speaker 1: that seahof funny by the pissed off Pisa flag in
- 5:49Speaker 1: the end zone. Let's see there's no Now that was
- 5:59Speaker 1: a great moment, Steve Rabel really just iconic voice. But
- 6:04Speaker 1: you know what was special about that game? Now's the show?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Well we're special. It was your very first game as
- 6:10Speaker 1: executive producer for the Seattle Seahawks. Now you're at ninety.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You're not a young buck anymore. You got a young face,
- 6:15Speaker 1: but you're not a young buck anymore. Hey, you know
- 6:17Speaker 1: time is flying by man. I can't believe twenty sixteen
- 6:20Speaker 1: was my first season, was my first regular season game
- 6:22Speaker 1: of Century Link. It was kind of a typical Seahawks fashion.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We started slow, came out big at the end. But
- 6:28Speaker 1: now I'm honestly just blessed to be as round as
- 6:30Speaker 1: long as I am, I have no plans on going anywhere.
- 6:32Speaker 1: As long as my key cards keeps working, I will
- 6:34Speaker 1: continue to come to the vback every single day. So
- 6:37Speaker 1: it's been a blast going on in my ninetieth game,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and it's happy to hang out with you and the
- 6:40Speaker 1: guys every weekend. Now bump. So last time the Seahawks
- 6:45Speaker 1: from Miami, they lost twenty four to twenty one in
- 6:47Speaker 1: November twenty twelve. I remember that game pretty vividly. I
- 6:50Speaker 1: think Earl Thomas had they I think Bruce Irvin had
- 6:54Speaker 1: a rough in the passer call late and Earl Thomas
- 6:56Speaker 1: had a penalty. They come back and they beat us
- 6:58Speaker 1: after that game. Consequently see one on a Run went
- 7:01Speaker 1: onto the playoffs. But Seahawks haven't had a lot of
- 7:04Speaker 1: success in Miami over history. Our last win there was
- 7:07Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety six. But one of the most important
- 7:11Speaker 1: wins in Seahawks history we talked about no owner history,
- 7:14Speaker 1: was when they won in the Orange Bowl in the
- 7:17Speaker 1: nineteen eighty three Divisional playoffs. It is all over. The
- 7:21Speaker 1: Seahawks are heading for the American Football Conference Championship Game
- 7:25Speaker 1: next week. Chuck Knox at the Orange Bowl with Reggie
- 7:29Speaker 1: McKenzie hoisting Chuck on his shoulder. Story and along with
- 7:34Speaker 1: Paul Johns, are given Chuck Knox a ride towards the
- 7:37Speaker 1: dressing room. The Seahawks are beating the Dolphins here in
- 7:40Speaker 1: the Orange Bowl, and our final score of this afternoon,
- 7:43Speaker 1: Seattle twenty seven, the Miami Dolphins twenty. Now, the Dolphins
- 7:50Speaker 1: were no joke in the eighties. That was a franchise.
- 7:53Speaker 1: There was a franchise in the eighties. So for the
- 7:56Speaker 1: Seahawks to go down there chuck knogs getting hoisted off
- 7:59Speaker 1: the field, that's good stuff. Let's get some of that
- 8:01Speaker 1: eighty three vibe going down to MA this weekend and
- 8:05Speaker 1: not make some history, but just do what we think
- 8:08Speaker 1: the Hawks are able to. Do. So now we talked
- 8:10Speaker 1: about the Seattle Seahawks. We talked to our excuse me,
- 8:12Speaker 1: the Miami Dolphins in their history with the Seahawks. Now
- 8:16Speaker 1: let's talk about this NFC West what's the word and
- 8:23Speaker 1: the Seahawks or the NFC West champs again, what's the
- 8:26Speaker 1: word in the West? On HOWK talk? I'm sorry? Or
- 8:31Speaker 1: what's the word in the West? I'll tell you what
- 8:32Speaker 1: the word is. The Hawks are three and oh they're
- 8:35Speaker 1: leading this division, the toughest division in football. The Hawks
- 8:37Speaker 1: are at the top of it. The Arizona Cardinals were
- 8:39Speaker 1: tune one, the Rams are two and one. San Francisco
- 8:42Speaker 1: forty nine ers are tun one, but we expect them
- 8:44Speaker 1: to take a nice little dip. They got lucky. The
- 8:48Speaker 1: forty nine ers I should say got lucky these last
- 8:50Speaker 1: couple of weeks because they're playing football in New York,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and New York football is garbage right now, so that
- 8:56Speaker 1: two and one could be a bit to see me.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah no, and it's I mean, it's like, guess there's
- 9:00Speaker 1: a credit to them through battling through all the injuries
- 9:02Speaker 1: that they've had. They're obviously not the only team in
- 9:04Speaker 1: the NFL that struggled with injuries. Obviously the Seattle Seahawks
- 9:07Speaker 1: have been decimated by injuries so far, but the Niners,
- 9:10Speaker 1: their schedule is gonna get a lot tougher as it
- 9:11Speaker 1: keeps going. So I would be really surprised if they
- 9:14Speaker 1: can kind of continue to ride this wave, especially as
- 9:17Speaker 1: so many guys have been hurt. Garoppolo might be coming
- 9:19Speaker 1: back sooner and then later, but it'll be definitely interesting
- 9:22Speaker 1: to see if they can stay above water. They're fighting,
- 9:25Speaker 1: they're fighting to stay afloat. I mean, that's what you
- 9:27Speaker 1: do in the NFL. So many injuries this year, and
- 9:30Speaker 1: they probably have been hit the worst. So like last week,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you said, you don't really feel for him, but you
- 9:37Speaker 1: understand that this is something that football teams go through. Now,
- 9:40Speaker 1: the rams Man they lost a heartbreaker. There's a PI
- 9:44Speaker 1: late in the game. First off, let's describe the PI.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So this is the way I saw, and you let
- 9:48Speaker 1: me know what you said. I see a receiver who
- 9:51Speaker 1: fires off the football. To me, it's it's hard for
- 9:54Speaker 1: the DV to tell if he's running a route or
- 9:56Speaker 1: if he's blocking. Right that receiver is going to block him,
- 9:59Speaker 1: that dB can engage. dB. Receiver comes off the line,
- 10:03Speaker 1: doesn't move, the defender goes right at him at the
- 10:05Speaker 1: top of his route. dB grabs him, thinking he's blocking.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He lets go. The ball flies over the receiver's head.
- 10:12Speaker 1: So technically it is a pass in affairs because the
- 10:16Speaker 1: ball was in the air and the dB had hands
- 10:18Speaker 1: on him. But in reality, I'm kind of like, that's
- 10:21Speaker 1: tough for the dB to see that he's supposed to
- 10:23Speaker 1: see the man and the ball in the air. And
- 10:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's we said it before. It's tough to
- 10:27Speaker 1: play dB as a dB man. He got hosts man,
- 10:31Speaker 1: it's it's just so so difficult. Like you said, he
- 10:33Speaker 1: came off the ball and ran right at him because
- 10:35Speaker 1: at some point, like you're entitled to that space too, right,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I understand he kind of because he thinks he might
- 10:40Speaker 1: be blocking him, so he kind of gets his hands
- 10:42Speaker 1: on him. But I think that's such a bang bang
- 10:43Speaker 1: play and the ball sales over his head. I think
- 10:45Speaker 1: they got host on that call. Again, it's the NFL,
- 10:48Speaker 1: so you can't leave it to the officials bump. You
- 10:51Speaker 1: can't leave it in their hands. So I don't feel bad.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And then also, I mean they were they were done early.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I thought that game was over when we were doing
- 10:59Speaker 1: our pregame show. I mean they were down twenty to
- 11:00Speaker 1: three in the third quarter. I thought they were gonna
- 11:02Speaker 1: get boat race. But they went on this sort of
- 11:04Speaker 1: twenty nine nine answered took the lead. Unfortunately, couldn't get
- 11:07Speaker 1: it done. Couldn't get it done. And Aaron Donald this
- 11:10Speaker 1: continues to be one of those guys, I mean, goodness,
- 11:14Speaker 1: Grace six tackles, two sacks, three tackle for losses and
- 11:17Speaker 1: qbit is. Now, there was one play where he man
- 11:20Speaker 1: handled two guys at one time. He was a center
- 11:22Speaker 1: in a guard. He just big boydom, get out my way,
- 11:25Speaker 1: got to the quarterback. It might have been one of
- 11:27Speaker 1: the most dominant plays I've seen in sports since when
- 11:30Speaker 1: Shack that used to get the ball in the paint
- 11:32Speaker 1: drop step and just yam on. Dudes like this guy
- 11:35Speaker 1: is a different I want to see what his daddy
- 11:37Speaker 1: and his mom look like. Like, who made this animal?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Who's out there this wrecking stuff? This is a specimen man.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I mean the things he does to other grown men
- 11:44Speaker 1: who also get paid a lot of money to play
- 11:47Speaker 1: this game, it's unbelievable. In another play, he did that
- 11:49Speaker 1: same thing. He just takes the guard, puts him on
- 11:52Speaker 1: his back, and then literally with one arm, grabs Josh
- 11:56Speaker 1: Allen and just tosses him to the ground like he
- 11:58Speaker 1: was a child. Like get out the club, You're done.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I mean, Aaron Donald is a problem. And that is
- 12:04Speaker 1: one dude that when the Seahawks play the Rams that
- 12:06Speaker 1: she will be scared of and have to account for.
- 12:09Speaker 1: You gotta double that man on every single snap, every
- 12:12Speaker 1: single stamp, every snap, double leff. So now let's let's
- 12:15Speaker 1: talk about the Cardinals. Now, Kyler Murray is having a
- 12:18Speaker 1: decent year. He struggled a bit last game twenty three
- 12:20Speaker 1: for thirty five two seventy five with two touchdowns but
- 12:23Speaker 1: three interceptions. What are your now, I look at Kyler
- 12:29Speaker 1: Murray play and I'm like, this is one of the
- 12:31Speaker 1: most exciting players in the NFL. He's not a one
- 12:34Speaker 1: trick pony. He can throw the football. He's one of
- 12:38Speaker 1: the leading rushers in the league right out of the
- 12:40Speaker 1: quarterback position. But you're gonna get days like this out
- 12:43Speaker 1: of a second year guy who kind of relies on
- 12:46Speaker 1: his feet to make plays. Not a horrible game, but
- 12:49Speaker 1: not a great game by Kyler Murray No, And it's
- 12:51Speaker 1: I mean, this is a second year that's I think
- 12:54Speaker 1: that's his twentieth regular season the NFL game, So I mean,
- 12:57Speaker 1: you're gonna have games like that. Like you said, I'm
- 13:00Speaker 1: not gonna call him a gunslinger, but he has that
- 13:02Speaker 1: ability to make play. So he's gonna get outside the
- 13:04Speaker 1: pocket and he's gonna try to force things in. He's
- 13:06Speaker 1: gonna try to make plays. And I think if there
- 13:08Speaker 1: wasn't knocking Kyler, sometimes it's okay to not make the
- 13:11Speaker 1: big play. Sometimes it's okay to throw the ball at
- 13:13Speaker 1: a bound. Sometimes okay to go down, sometimes okay to
- 13:16Speaker 1: play for another down. And he's gonna learn that he's, still,
- 13:18Speaker 1: like you said, incredibly explosive and good football player. He's
- 13:22Speaker 1: gonna have a couple more of those games throughout the year.
- 13:24Speaker 1: But then he's also gonna have a lot more of
- 13:25Speaker 1: those wow games, so it'll be interesting to watch his progress.
- 13:28Speaker 1: So the season goes on gift and a curse of
- 13:31Speaker 1: being so explosive. Could you imagine in high school he
- 13:34Speaker 1: never lost the game, went to college, can do whatever
- 13:36Speaker 1: he wants on a football field. This is probably the
- 13:39Speaker 1: first time to worm. He can do almost everything he wants.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But there are times where it's just gonna happen. But
- 13:43Speaker 1: like you said, he'll get through that. So now we
- 13:46Speaker 1: gotta look at these matchups. We gotta man him up.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Who are looking at? Is this man up on Hawk Talk?
- 14:00Speaker 1: Man up bump? All right, So obviously we know the
- 14:03Speaker 1: main matchup is the quarterback, and that's Ryan Fitzpatrick. Some
- 14:07Speaker 1: calum fits magic against this Seahawks defense. Okay, Now, Ryan Fitzpatrick,
- 14:13Speaker 1: he's the kind of guy that is gonna put up yards.
- 14:15Speaker 1: He's gonna put up numbers. Hes gonna throw the ball
- 14:16Speaker 1: a lot this year sixty nine for ninety seven, six
- 14:19Speaker 1: hundred and seventy nine yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions, And
- 14:24Speaker 1: I said it at the end. He's gonna put up
- 14:25Speaker 1: a lot of yards, but he's also gonna turn the
- 14:27Speaker 1: ball over. He's gonna turn it over one hundred and
- 14:30Speaker 1: sixty four interceptions. And I've watched him on film this
- 14:34Speaker 1: year and when you get pressure on him, he's not
- 14:37Speaker 1: afraid to step in and throw the football and get smacked.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But because of that, he's gonna take a lot of chances.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And Nasa Choby, you talk about this defense and they're
- 14:46Speaker 1: not getting after the quarterback and the defensive lime all
- 14:49Speaker 1: these concerns you have. But the Hawks have eighteen knockdowns,
- 14:54Speaker 1: eighteen QB knockdowns, so they're getting there. They're just not
- 14:57Speaker 1: quite finishing the play. I think that's like top three
- 14:59Speaker 1: in the NFL. If they can put pressure on Fitzpatrick
- 15:02Speaker 1: early and force him to turn the ball over like
- 15:05Speaker 1: we know he does, that's gonna be a nice start
- 15:09Speaker 1: or and I start to really changing the perception of
- 15:12Speaker 1: this defense absolutely, and it's about everyone getting confidence. I
- 15:15Speaker 1: think if the defensive line can finish some of those plays,
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's like at the end of the game where Dak
- 15:20Speaker 1: Ryan Yogat's interception, but Dak's gotta go down right there,
- 15:22Speaker 1: the game should be over right there because you had
- 15:24Speaker 1: him did to write. So if that can start there,
- 15:26Speaker 1: we saw Shaquille Griffin an interception last week, so I'm
- 15:29Speaker 1: kind of hoping that he continues to do that and
- 15:30Speaker 1: they just need to take the ball away. The one
- 15:32Speaker 1: thing I will say about Ryan Fitzpatrick is he as
- 15:35Speaker 1: old as he is, he's still somewhat elusive, man. I mean,
- 15:38Speaker 1: he had a couple of scrambles last week. He had
- 15:41Speaker 1: a design quarterback run. He had a little QB draw
- 15:43Speaker 1: to empty for a touchdown against the jack So like,
- 15:46Speaker 1: he can still scramble and make plays. I mean, you
- 15:48Speaker 1: want to get him in those situations where he throws
- 15:50Speaker 1: us the ball. But he's still more elusive than one
- 15:52Speaker 1: would think. And honestly, when I look at him post game,
- 15:57Speaker 1: I think Miami quarterback. He has the yeas the button
- 16:00Speaker 1: nubs with the with the tackle me chess hair out
- 16:03Speaker 1: like he he is Miami, absolutely, But we're gonna count
- 16:07Speaker 1: him and turn the ball over. All Right, we talked
- 16:08Speaker 1: about one quarterback. Let's talk about probably the hottest quarterback
- 16:12Speaker 1: in the NFL, Russell Wilson versus the Dolphins defense. Now,
- 16:16Speaker 1: when Russell has a clean pocket um, he has the
- 16:19Speaker 1: highest completion rate eighty five percent. Golf is at eighty
- 16:23Speaker 1: that Prescott is at eighty percent, and last week we
- 16:26Speaker 1: saw him work for most of the most of the
- 16:29Speaker 1: game a clean pocket. This offensive line is doing better
- 16:31Speaker 1: than I think anyone thought they would do in pass protection.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Let's not forget um five touchdowns back to back games.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Brady Breeze, far Montana and Manning combined have two. This
- 16:44Speaker 1: man has done it in back to back weeks. It's
- 16:47Speaker 1: it's crazy. I mean that stat honestly, like just to
- 16:49Speaker 1: when I look at this piece of paper. We talked
- 16:51Speaker 1: to us a little bit on the preview podcast, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: to have to throw for five touchdowns, no picks, and
- 16:55Speaker 1: when your leader team on a game winning drives and
- 16:58Speaker 1: Russell willsons in that three times in his career. All
- 17:00Speaker 1: those guys you mentioned, Brady Breeze, far Bantana, Manning, Hall
- 17:03Speaker 1: of Famers, they've only inn that twice combined. So that
- 17:05Speaker 1: just couldn't have shows you the level that Russell Wilson's
- 17:08Speaker 1: playing at. He's at another level. Russell SATs through three
- 17:12Speaker 1: games seventy nine for one on three, that is seventy
- 17:14Speaker 1: six percent. He's completing nine hundred twenty five passing yards,
- 17:18Speaker 1: fourteen touchdowns, one pick. That honestly is the most least
- 17:22Speaker 1: lucky scenario you can ever think of. Greg Olson on
- 17:25Speaker 1: an easy out which he's ran thousands of times, hits
- 17:28Speaker 1: him right in his hands, bobbles it, pick six. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: almost want to erase that from that. You can't, you know,
- 17:34Speaker 1: one hundred thirty nine pass rating, ninety one rushing rushing yards.
- 17:38Speaker 1: The Dolphins are allowing two hundred and sixty seven pass
- 17:41Speaker 1: yards per game, So you're saying Russell is going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: do his thing this week. Honestly, like I would be
- 17:49Speaker 1: surprised if the stat line did not read Russell Wilson,
- 17:52Speaker 1: you know, twenty five for twenty nine, three hundred twenty
- 17:56Speaker 1: five yards and four touchdowns. If I saw anything less
- 17:58Speaker 1: than that, I'd be surprised. And the only reason that
- 18:01Speaker 1: might not happen is if our running game really gets
- 18:03Speaker 1: going and we get out ahead early and we're just
- 18:06Speaker 1: kind of grinding down the clock. But I expect Russell
- 18:08Speaker 1: Wilson to continue to keep doing what he's been doing
- 18:10Speaker 1: all year. Miami has a twenty fifth ranked passing defense,
- 18:15Speaker 1: the twenty fifth ranked rushing defense. Everybody should be able
- 18:19Speaker 1: to eat another matchup Miles Gaskins verse Seattle Seahawks front seven.
- 18:24Speaker 1: He has thirty eight carries for one hundred and fifty
- 18:25Speaker 1: two fifteen receptions for ninety one yards. U dub legend.
- 18:29Speaker 1: He went to O Day. I believe right, private school
- 18:32Speaker 1: up here, went to O Day. So he's Seattle through
- 18:34Speaker 1: and through. He's gonna have fans there. His ticket request
- 18:36Speaker 1: is gonna be crazy. All sorry, Now we're in Miami.
- 18:39Speaker 1: What dom I talk about? Now? I meant, I mean
- 18:41Speaker 1: he's gonna have to pay for him and there's only
- 18:44Speaker 1: like twenty thousand people down there, so he's gonna really
- 18:47Speaker 1: maybe only for mom and dad. That's probably about it.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Mom and dad. Okay, that's about it. Mom and Dad's
- 18:52Speaker 1: getting But this is a good football player. He's not
- 18:54Speaker 1: a horrible football player. He's a good football player. I
- 18:57Speaker 1: think he's like top twenty five when it comes to
- 18:59Speaker 1: number in the league right now. But he's just not
- 19:02Speaker 1: a guy that you're like, hey, if we don't shut
- 19:04Speaker 1: this guy down, it's just not gonna happen for us.
- 19:07Speaker 1: And they don't have many guys like that. I feel no.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I mean, like you said, I love Miles Gascon. He's
- 19:11Speaker 1: a UTB legend. Ran for over a thousand yards four
- 19:14Speaker 1: years in a row obviously great to this region. But
- 19:17Speaker 1: you're right, he's a solid running back, but he's not
- 19:19Speaker 1: the league's best. He's not an Ezekiel Elliott type guy. Now,
- 19:23Speaker 1: the last couple of games, the Miami Dolphins last week
- 19:27Speaker 1: against Jackson with the rand the ball thirty thirty six
- 19:29Speaker 1: times and through it twenty Now, that's just not going
- 19:32Speaker 1: to happen this week against the Seahawks. The Seahawks are
- 19:34Speaker 1: the number two ranked rushing defense in the league. They're
- 19:37Speaker 1: not gonna be able to run the ball as much
- 19:38Speaker 1: as they did. They came out in a lot of
- 19:40Speaker 1: heavy personnel groups, two tight ends, twelve sometimes twenty two personnel,
- 19:44Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. Against the Bills, they ran
- 19:47Speaker 1: at twenty two times through a forty seven. And that's
- 19:49Speaker 1: what I'm expecting to see. Lots of empty personnel, lots
- 19:52Speaker 1: of eleven ten personnel grouping, so I expect them to
- 19:55Speaker 1: be throwing the ball a lot more. But that doesn't
- 19:57Speaker 1: mean Miles Gascon isn't going to be involved in the game.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Like you said, you have twenty two k's last week.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I still think they're trying to mix him up. But
- 20:04Speaker 1: he's a guy that if he does go off. That's
- 20:06Speaker 1: a huge problem. It's gonna be a huge problem. You
- 20:09Speaker 1: mentioned that the Hawks have the second ranked rush defense
- 20:12Speaker 1: in the league, only allowing sixty six yards per game.
- 20:14Speaker 1: He rushed for sixty six. If you're watching Seahawk film,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you have to throw the football right. Throwing the football
- 20:21Speaker 1: has to be a major part of your game plan,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and for the Dolphins, a major part of their game plant.
- 20:25Speaker 1: When it comes to throwing the football, it's mighty sticking
- 20:27Speaker 1: twelve or sep since one hundred and seventy five yards
- 20:30Speaker 1: and two touchdowns. He's a team's leading past catcher, but
- 20:33Speaker 1: he's probably not the best receiver on that team. Is
- 20:36Speaker 1: Devonte Parker coming off his first thousand yards season. But
- 20:40Speaker 1: it's nice when you have a one two combo. I
- 20:42Speaker 1: guess this isn't a combo that scares me. It's not
- 20:45Speaker 1: Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. It's not a Mark Cooper
- 20:49Speaker 1: and Michael Gallup. It's not even Julian Edelman in whoever
- 20:54Speaker 1: Cam has over has over there with him. So this
- 20:57Speaker 1: is a receiving corps and tight end group. I guess
- 21:00Speaker 1: that they should be able to handle. And if these
- 21:03Speaker 1: guys go off, this weekend. As if just Sicky and
- 21:07Speaker 1: Davante go off, I'm not I'm not a panicking right now.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I'm a big concerned I'm a big concerned right now.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But if these guys go off, I might just hit
- 21:16Speaker 1: the panning button on this past defense. Yeah. No, it'll
- 21:20Speaker 1: be really disappointing. I mean, like you said, it's not
- 21:22Speaker 1: the same cobre of offensive players in terms of explosion,
- 21:25Speaker 1: in terms of skill set, in terms of all that.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So they need to be they need to come right
- 21:29Speaker 1: this weekend. Um the tight ends though, like you said,
- 21:32Speaker 1: um Gaseki is their leading receiver and maybe not their
- 21:34Speaker 1: best receiver. He's their leading receiver in terms of yardage.
- 21:37Speaker 1: But if they want to run the ball, they're gonna
- 21:39Speaker 1: mix in a lot of tight ends, a lot of motion,
- 21:40Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. So Seahawks defense, Sehawks linebackers, they
- 21:43Speaker 1: got to be just disciplined, get stuff done. Don't cover
- 21:46Speaker 1: grass when you were when we're dropping in his zone,
- 21:48Speaker 1: find somebody lock up and we should try to shut
- 21:50Speaker 1: him down. You know, as Ray Roberts would say, this
- 21:53Speaker 1: is the get right game, Yes, sir, right baby, get
- 21:56Speaker 1: these thing going. Now. There are some things they have
- 21:58Speaker 1: to do to win this ball game. Path victory. Let's
- 22:00Speaker 1: get it. After forty five waits for the snaff, Michael
- 22:05Speaker 1: Vickton puts it down. That kick is away. If that
- 22:08Speaker 1: kick good, it's good. It's a pass to victory. I'm
- 22:14Speaker 1: hawk talk, all right. There are some things that this
- 22:17Speaker 1: team needs to do to win this ball game. First,
- 22:20Speaker 1: it is create turnovers. Especially when Ryan fits Magic is
- 22:24Speaker 1: trying to sprinkle magic on this game. You have to
- 22:27Speaker 1: get after him, make him be uncomfortable, force him into
- 22:30Speaker 1: those throws that he wants to make. He wants to
- 22:32Speaker 1: Brett fave this thing. He wants to throw it from
- 22:35Speaker 1: the hip. He wants to have different arm angles. He
- 22:36Speaker 1: wants to look left and throw right. He's gonna do
- 22:39Speaker 1: whatever it takes this. This man's what eight or nineteen.
- 22:41Speaker 1: He ain't worried about nothing, ain't worry about nothing. I'm
- 22:43Speaker 1: just gonna I'm just gonna play some ball. Make him
- 22:45Speaker 1: turn the ball over. He wants to put up a
- 22:46Speaker 1: bust of yards. He's gonna throw the pill a ton
- 22:48Speaker 1: of times. He's gonna, like you said, try to squeeze
- 22:50Speaker 1: it into small windows. Here's my thing, pass to victory.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I don't want to see why Ryan Fitzpatrick in his
- 22:55Speaker 1: Miami shirt, you know, with a button down to his chest.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I don't want to see that with some cool glasses on,
- 23:00Speaker 1: because that means they won the game. So I don't.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I don't want to see any of that force him
- 23:04Speaker 1: into turnovers. If you were just supposed to get pressure
- 23:06Speaker 1: on him on the quarterback, you he will throw you
- 23:08Speaker 1: the ball. Make him do that. Yes, he will. Another
- 23:11Speaker 1: path to victory. Everybody can't throw for four hundred. Okay,
- 23:14Speaker 1: let's just let's let's cut it. The streak down. Fitzpatrick
- 23:18Speaker 1: can't do it. He throws for four hundred, they might
- 23:21Speaker 1: be in this ball game. Yeah, if he throws for
- 23:23Speaker 1: four hundred, they might be in this ball game. Let's
- 23:25Speaker 1: stop that streak. Sunday me too, And honestly, what is
- 23:29Speaker 1: it we're I know we're nine and o, but let's
- 23:31Speaker 1: just retire it at nine and O. Let's put the
- 23:33Speaker 1: banner und Let's retire. Let's just never see those numbers
- 23:36Speaker 1: ever again. Okay, it's over done. It's a rap. Doune
- 23:40Speaker 1: day d Line needs to answer the call. Bensmeyoa has
- 23:43Speaker 1: shown that he can make some plays. Alon Robinson his
- 23:46Speaker 1: first start are first time, getting playing time this year,
- 23:49Speaker 1: sack two tackles for losses. Haven't heard much of from
- 23:52Speaker 1: Puna yet, you know, but granted he's an in terror lineman.
- 23:55Speaker 1: He's not gonna get much. Levy takes on double teams.
- 23:58Speaker 1: This D line just needs to step it up. And
- 24:01Speaker 1: this should be the week to step it up. By
- 24:03Speaker 1: team and offensive line that you should have dominated absolutely.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And I want to hear I want to hear LJ.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Collier's name called on a bunch. He's been making plays
- 24:10Speaker 1: a lot recently. I want to hear Jay Reid's name.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I want to hear bens In Mayoa's name. I want
- 24:14Speaker 1: to hear all those guys names. I want to see
- 24:15Speaker 1: them finished plays. Like you said, we're getting the pressure.
- 24:18Speaker 1: We're starting to get some QB hits, pressures and knockdowns.
- 24:21Speaker 1: We need sacks. We need to get there, get him
- 24:23Speaker 1: down forced turnovers, just like jay Ree did when he
- 24:26Speaker 1: came across with Dak and Mayo recover the fumble. We
- 24:29Speaker 1: need to see more of that. So when I was
- 24:32Speaker 1: in high school, Ken Norton actually coached my rival high school, Hamilton,
- 24:37Speaker 1: and we play him every year and we smack him
- 24:40Speaker 1: every year. This needs to be Culver City versus Hamilton
- 24:43Speaker 1: HAWKSY did come out and just impose their will do
- 24:47Speaker 1: what the heck they're supposed to do at all positions.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Another pack of victory. Russell Wilson is the MVP of
- 24:53Speaker 1: the NFL do three games, needs to continue to play
- 24:56Speaker 1: like that five touchdowns. I feel like he doesn't need
- 24:59Speaker 1: to throw five, three, maybe four, you know, but let's
- 25:03Speaker 1: not rely on him too heavily and get other guys going,
- 25:08Speaker 1: like Carlos Hide, who's gonna have an opportunity to get
- 25:10Speaker 1: a start this week. Yeah no, I mean it'll be
- 25:13Speaker 1: great for us those for five, six, seven touchdowns again,
- 25:15Speaker 1: but let's spread the wealth out, right, Let's get the
- 25:17Speaker 1: running game going, Let's get the receivers going, let's get
- 25:19Speaker 1: everyone going. We don't know what Chris Carson status is
- 25:21Speaker 1: gonna be. We're gonna figure that out, probably be closer
- 25:23Speaker 1: to the game time decision. But let's spread the wealth
- 25:25Speaker 1: out and let's help Russell out a little bit. Yep.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Last path to victory. DK and Tyler just keep doing
- 25:31Speaker 1: your thing, man, both are on track for a thousand yards.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I set it on the Danny and Gallant Show this morning.
- 25:38Speaker 1: As of today Week four, they are the best duo
- 25:42Speaker 1: in the NFL. Dk is third in yards, Tyler Lockett
- 25:45Speaker 1: is tied for receptions. Dk is averaging twenty four yards
- 25:48Speaker 1: of reception. Tyler Lockett is twenty four for twenty nine
- 25:53Speaker 1: when targeted. I look at this duo as of now.
- 25:56Speaker 1: We'll see how the season ends, but as of now,
- 26:00Speaker 1: let's due on NFL, no question about it. I mean,
- 26:02Speaker 1: these guys they're not getting the love they deserve nationally.
- 26:05Speaker 1: But if they keep doing it one by one every
- 26:07Speaker 1: single week, they're gonna let everybody know. Both of them
- 26:09Speaker 1: gonna mean the Pro Bowl because the luckily for us,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I don't think we'll be able to play in that
- 26:13Speaker 1: Pro Bowl. That's a pipe dream way down the road.
- 26:16Speaker 1: But they keep doing what they're doing, they're gonna get
- 26:17Speaker 1: the recognition that they deserve nationally and it's gonna be great. Remember, guys,
- 26:21Speaker 1: you can find complete Seahawks coverage on seven ten ESPN Seattle,
- 26:24Speaker 1: through the seven ten ESPN Seattle app or seven ten
- 26:26Speaker 1: sports dot Com seventeen ESPN Seattle, The Voice of Seattle Sports.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Our pregame show gets going this weekend, right and early
- 26:33Speaker 1: at seven am, seven am. They're going down to Florida.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I'm Michael bumpas he's National Shelby. This is the Hot
- 26:41Speaker 1: Tark Preview Week four. Hopefully we have some good news
- 26:44Speaker 1: for you guys next week. Have a go one
