- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more Marks alone. I'm seventeen w alarm. Well, it's
- 0:05Speaker 1: turned to one of the great economists in the world,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Steve Moore, and he runs the committee to Unleash Prosperity
- 0:11Speaker 1: dot com. And every day they put out the best
- 0:13Speaker 1: daily news and analysis briefing. You can get it free.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It'll come right to your email. Just go to Unleash
- 0:19Speaker 1: Prosperity dot com. Hey, make sure you get his book,
- 0:22Speaker 1: The Trump Economic Miracle. What a book it is. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: he's with us now, Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, I'm doing really well. I think the economy
- 0:31Speaker 2: is doing really well. I think America's doing really well.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And and uh, you know, I love Trump's speech the
- 0:36Speaker 2: other night about how well the economy is doing, because
- 0:38Speaker 2: it is it happens to be doing really well in
- 0:41Speaker 2: terms of wages, in terms of job opportunities, in terms
- 0:44Speaker 2: of four when k plans. It's all looking very positive
- 0:48Speaker 2: to me.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know. I got the New York Times
- 0:50Speaker 1: right here says we're in the worst affordability crisis ever
- 0:53Speaker 1: in history.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Though.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Uh but the their focus groups came up with this
- 0:57Speaker 1: word affordability. They've what do you do about the fat
- 1:00Speaker 1: they're just drilling this into people's heads and people are
- 1:02Speaker 1: falling for it.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Well they are, I mean, and by the way, there's
- 1:06Speaker 2: a difference between an increase in prices and an increase
- 1:11Speaker 2: in inflation. So what's happened is, you know, prices are
- 1:14Speaker 2: still rising by about two and a half percent, but
- 1:16Speaker 2: that's down from like five and six percent increases and
- 1:19Speaker 2: prices under Biden. In fact, as you know, the ninety
- 1:24Speaker 2: percent of the inflation that people are complaining about and
- 1:27Speaker 2: the higher prices happened.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Under who Joe Biden?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, So why is it that people are so
- 1:34Speaker 2: obsessed with hump on this now? Look, the things that
- 1:38Speaker 2: are really rising in prices right now are beef prices,
- 1:41Speaker 2: and you know, people are angry when they buy a
- 1:43Speaker 2: stake at the grocery store. The other thing that's going
- 1:45Speaker 2: through the roof, by the way, is healthcare costs. We
- 1:48Speaker 2: just got our healthcare statement for twenty six and our
- 1:52Speaker 2: insurance premiums are you ready to are going up twelve percent,
- 1:55Speaker 2: So you know what is going on. I thought fifteen
- 1:58Speaker 2: years ago we passed the Affordable Care Act. Well, yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 2: not so affordable to me.
- 2:05Speaker 1: But you've been writing about this in the hotline. Yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 1: the whole thing needs to be totally busted up. And
- 2:11Speaker 1: when the government gets involved, nothing works right. But like
- 2:14Speaker 1: a simple test, a cat scan or something, it's one
- 2:16Speaker 1: hundred dollars, but the insurance rate is twelve hundred dollars
- 2:18Speaker 1: or eight thousand. Yeah, you got to stop all this.
- 2:22Speaker 2: How do we do you need? Well, one thing. One
- 2:24Speaker 2: thing we need is healthcare price transparency, so everyone knows.
- 2:28Speaker 2: You know, have you noticed we as Americans we always
- 2:31Speaker 2: ask you know, you've taken you know, you've got a book,
- 2:34Speaker 2: an airline flight, you ask how much it's gonna cost.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You go to the grocery store, how much is that
- 2:37Speaker 2: ice cream gonna cost? Everything that we buy a restaurant,
- 2:40Speaker 2: everything we asked, see how much is it gonna cost?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Except for one thing, healthcare. You know, when you go
- 2:46Speaker 2: to the doctor at the hospital. We never asked what
- 2:48Speaker 2: things cost. And that's one of the reasons prices are
- 2:51Speaker 2: completely out of control. I mean, my old friend Phil
- 2:53Speaker 2: Graham used to say, if we paid for groceries the
- 2:56Speaker 2: way we pay for healthcare, he said, I'd eat steak
- 2:58Speaker 2: and lobster and drink champagne every night.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so there's no way to do this though it
- 3:04Speaker 1: get government completely out of healthcare, is there? It can't happen.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Well, you know we could do if we had. You
- 3:10Speaker 2: could not pick a dumber way to pay for healthcare
- 3:12Speaker 2: right now than what we have right now. And incidentally,
- 3:15Speaker 2: under the Democratic plan that you can have an income
- 3:18Speaker 2: over half a million dollars and the Democrats want you
- 3:22Speaker 2: to get subsidies from the taxpayer for millionaires. Practically, I mean,
- 3:26Speaker 2: it does not make any sense. By the way, there
- 3:29Speaker 2: are twenty one states that have refused Trump's demand to
- 3:33Speaker 2: tell us make sure that the people are signing up
- 3:35Speaker 2: for medicaid and all these Obmamacare subsidies. Are going to
- 3:38Speaker 2: make sure that they actually have legitimate Social Security numbers
- 3:40Speaker 2: and they're eligible to the programs. Twenty one states, including
- 3:43Speaker 2: New York and New Jersey, have refused to comply.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, now they'll be Democrats yelling, well, what's the Republican
- 3:48Speaker 1: plan on healthcare? What is the Republican plan?
- 3:52Speaker 2: I have two words answer ready, Yeah, free enterprise, free markets. Well,
- 3:58Speaker 2: let's pay healthcare now. People should have catastrophic insurance for
- 4:02Speaker 2: you know, if you have you know, if you get
- 4:03Speaker 2: cancer god forbid, or have a terrible accident and you
- 4:06Speaker 2: have hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical expenses. You
- 4:09Speaker 2: want to make sure you're covered for that. But why
- 4:11Speaker 2: do we need you know, healthcare coverage, re active visits
- 4:14Speaker 2: and all these other things that are routine expenditures. So
- 4:17Speaker 2: that would make that would put the patient back in
- 4:19Speaker 2: the equation. And incidentally, you know I have an item
- 4:22Speaker 2: in the hotline today, mark that the in Canada now
- 4:27Speaker 2: they have seven, eight, nine, ten, twelve, fifteen, in some
- 4:31Speaker 2: cases twenty six weeks delay and waiting lines to get
- 4:35Speaker 2: any kind of medical procedure. But free. Oh do you
- 4:40Speaker 2: remember that? You remember the famous scene in the movie
- 4:43Speaker 2: Beetle Juice where the beetle Juice is in the waiting
- 4:45Speaker 2: room and they're serving number number three and he looks
- 4:49Speaker 2: at his number and he's like nine hundred thousand. That's
- 4:53Speaker 2: that help. There's just some folks. It's free if you
- 4:55Speaker 2: can get it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, so the FED, you're slight yesterday. This is
- 5:01Speaker 1: the most useless FED ever. Will this get fixed? Well,
- 5:04Speaker 1: we got a new FED chairman, will Ark. Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Well it's gonna be one. Yeah, yep, we're going to
- 5:08Speaker 2: get one of the two. Kevin's either Kevin Hassett or
- 5:13Speaker 2: Kevin worsh You know both of them. I know both
- 5:17Speaker 2: of them. I think they with both be excellent, excellent choices.
- 5:19Speaker 2: They would restore the value of the dollar. They would
- 5:22Speaker 2: make sure that interest rates are as low as they
- 5:24Speaker 2: possibly can be. And so I bite both of those picks.
- 5:28Speaker 2: And as long as we get rid of Jerome Powell,
- 5:31Speaker 2: I'll be very happy.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Will he'll be replaced as chairman? Will he step down
- 5:35Speaker 1: from the Fed like he's supposed to?
- 5:37Speaker 2: I hope. So he's the guy who let prices go
- 5:40Speaker 2: up by twenty percent over the last four years. He's
- 5:42Speaker 2: a total failure. He's got to go. And we got
- 5:45Speaker 2: to get somebody in there who defends the dollar, restores
- 5:48Speaker 2: us to price stability, and gets the inflation rate back
- 5:51Speaker 2: down to two percent or below.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I got a run, Mark, But I hope you have
- 5:54Speaker 2: a great, great day. And my god, I got.
- 5:56Speaker 1: To do some Christmas shopping, all right, get me something nice?
- 5:59Speaker 1: You want my size?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, exactly, Yeah, take care.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Well, at least he showed up. He had to run,
- 6:09Speaker 1: but at least he showed up. That's pretty good. So
- 6:14Speaker 1: it's enough Christmas? How much long ago Christmas. What's the
- 6:17Speaker 1: day today? Let me see, it's eleventh. That's thirteen more
- 6:21Speaker 1: days of this two weeks. I can't take it. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: don't feel good. Yeah, it's overeating. It's these Christmas parties.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You just eat like crazy.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:32Speaker 1: The good thing is today I'm walking around the whole
- 6:35Speaker 1: sixth floor here. There's no buffets anywhere, thank god. Today.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yesterday there were these buffets in front of Elvis Durant's
- 6:43Speaker 1: studio that was the most incredible buffet Italian this and
- 6:47Speaker 1: and then down there by Jim Kurr studio buffet of
- 6:51Speaker 1: these incredible cakes and pastries. This went on for miles.
- 6:55Speaker 1: That's in the morning. Then in the afternoon, who's that
- 6:57Speaker 1: buffet yesterday? At lunch here that big another Italian? Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 1: whatever that was called. And then from that I leave,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and then I go to all these Christmas parties. You know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: they've got a lot of afternoon Christmas parties. That's a
- 7:09Speaker 1: big thing now, afternoon Christmas parties. That're one of those.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And then night the last Christmas party was Pea Pack,
- 7:16Speaker 1: which is one of the most prestigious, finest private banks
- 7:20Speaker 1: in America. You hear them on w O R Pa
- 7:25Speaker 1: pack Private Doug Kennedy the chairman. What a great party
- 7:29Speaker 1: that was. But the food was amazing. Now I can't
- 7:34Speaker 1: even move today, So it's got to stop. It's got
- 7:38Speaker 1: to stop these Christmas parties and then next week it
- 7:40Speaker 1: gets any work much worse. There's like three four of
- 7:43Speaker 1: them a day. It's too much. It's too much. You've
- 7:46Speaker 1: got to come up with something besides food and parties.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Hold the Christmas party at a gym, no food, just
- 7:53Speaker 1: gatorade or something like that. It's tough to deal with.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Hey ya, coming up, You got to Buck and Clay
- 7:58Speaker 1: at noon today with a great show. Then you got
- 8:01Speaker 1: the most listened to radio show in America. Sean Hannity
- 8:04Speaker 1: at three, Jesse Kelly at six. Hey, Jimmy Fayla does
- 8:07Speaker 1: a great show here every night at nine o'clock. In fact,
- 8:10Speaker 1: he'll be with us. He'll be our guest here in
- 8:13Speaker 1: the next hour on seven ten Woor
