- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, good friend.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: This is a Vangelist Mike McCurrier listening to the Bible Trek echoes a radio broadcast.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Did you know that Jesus Christ dealt with rejection as well?
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: See, it's not just you, it's not just me.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, in our present day it feels like the world can be against us.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: In the turmoil, in the tumultuousness of life, it feels like there's no one on our side, but thankfully,
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus Christ is always in our corner, but realize in the Bible Jesus Christ when he was in human form on earth, he dealt with rejection as well, and Dr. Paul Levine is going to continue a message he's been preaching on Monday and Tuesday of this week, it's titled The Demand of Discipleship.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you'll listen in in just a moment here.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: before we go any further though.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've got to tell you about a brand new gospel track we are offering at bibletracksink.org.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's our website associated with our ministry bibletracks and corporate it.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: The web address one more time is bibletracksink.org.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Now let me tell you about this gospel track.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's titled Freedom.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: in forgiveness.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And a good friend of mine wrote this gospel track as a salvation testimony.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Now, his testimony is absolutely incredibly powerful, and I think it just might be a help to you.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: If you yourself have struggled with addiction, you struggle with the chains of sin, you struggle with divorce, sloth, envy, jealousy, temptation, abuse, you name it.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think this
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: The front cover, I say this often, but it truly is.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's striking.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Great design.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like for you to visit our website bibletracksink.org.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's listen to Dr. Paul Levine tell us about Jesus himself dealing with rejection.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Listen now.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: here were young folks down all across the in front of the building and as we were singing and as other young folks were coming forward dedicated the lives of God all of a sudden the mother of one of these girls came down the aisle walked over the the daughter put her arms her under and they started to weep on each other's shoulder
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's a daughter giving her life to God.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: Here's a mother saying, honey, I'm glad you're doing this.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: This is fine.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going pray for you.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to scrape up all the money I can and help you get their colleagues.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to back you.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to do everything I can.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it means.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: They were starting to cry.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: So on the stands of the stop, I said, hey, folks, isn't that wonderful look here?
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't said anything about any parents coming down there to stand with their children, but I said, in the fine, I'm so glad for this mother who's come here to stand with her daughter, and I said, I'll thank God for that, and I just, my praise God for this beautiful sight, mother and daughter, weeping on each other's shoulders, but that time I fell to tap on my shoulders.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: And all I look around there was the pastor, the pastor said, Brother Paul,
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: Her mother doesn't even care enough about her to be here tonight.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now, some of you may have mothers like that.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now, not run down your mothers, I'm just saying that if you are rejected in your service for God, and you don't get the backing and the help and the tears and the prayers and the encouragement from your mother or your dad or your brothers or your sisters, you are going to suffer the very same thing that the Lord Jesus suffered, the same thing.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: And the pastor said that that's not the girl's mother, but he said that dear lady knows that this girl doesn't have a mother who cares that much about her, so she just come to be her mother.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: Boy, that smell of that crowd, and many of you see the parents come.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't have to ask anybody to come.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: They just came from everywhere, and all across that building.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: We're mothers and dads and sons and daughters, crying on each other's shoulders, and rejoicing together in the lives we're being dedicated to God.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: Down people, I know that some of you, when you get home, will get there.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: Call water through all over the professions that you've made.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: You go home all the time, I guess what?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: I dedicated my life to God.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: You did what?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, oh, oh, we got a little angel living here now.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: God, a preacher living here now.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: Don't tell them what your brothers and sisters and others will say about you.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: But that's what the Lord suffered.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: And He says, now, I'm going to Jerusalem, and I'm going to suffer many things.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to be hated by this world, and I'm going to be rejected by the very ones that ought to have received me.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: I remember a brother and a sister in a little town in Illinois.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: Service.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: was over one night and the he's too a brother and sister came to me can we talk to you and I said yes so we split the one side and they started to cry and they said why are you crying and they said it's our parents oh I said what's the matter with your parents well are making us dance making you what they said we're making us they're making us dance these were high school kids i said what do you mean they're making you dance well they got dancing in our school
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: We're Christians.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: We don't make a Christian order of dancing.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: I said, hello, you've been saved.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: Well, about a year.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, you've only been saved a year, and you've already known enough about it.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: You don't believe you ought to dance.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, we ought to.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to dance.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: But our parents are making us dance.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Our mother and dad have said, you've got to engage in the dancing program down there at the school.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: You see, in their spiritual work, we've got they were rejected by their parents.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm not trying to turn you against your parents.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: You love your parents, you obey your parents, you honor your parents.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: But when your parents take a dim view of your living for God, don't get bitter against them.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: But if it squeezes the tears out of your face,
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: And it makes you fall on your knees before God until Lord.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: I wish my mother and dead, we're like this, I wish they could understand, then pray for them and love them.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: But remember that's the same thing that the Lord Jesus suffered.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: He suffered that.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you may have to suffer that.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: So don't let it shake yet too bad.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: One of these weeks, we're going to have some young people here.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I can remember when their mother were saved and some means we had in Michigan.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: They were Jewish.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: Two Jewish girls.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: This church had a ball team, and they had a game with some other church, and I'm easy to start on Tuesday night, and they wrote me a letter, or called me up, I was in Michigan, and they called me, and I said, Paul, you get down here on Monday, in time, and you can play on our ball team.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I've been there before, and so I brought him back, and I said, we're calling him back, and I said, well, that's nice of you.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: But I got to pray about that.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what I really want to play or not.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll pray about it and see it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I didn't take long to pray about that, brother.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: I knew I wanted to play ball with him, so I got to on Monday.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I play ball with him.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: And there were two Jewish girls there.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: And the young people that church said to me,
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: They said, now those two Jewish girls said they'd be in church tomorrow night.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: They'll be there.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: You can be there tomorrow night, brother Paul.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: They're on the same.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Never heard the gospel.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: They've never been anywhere except the Jewish synagogue.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be there tomorrow night.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: Paul said that's wonderful.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I said, how do you know they're going to be there tomorrow night?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of young people say, well, we'll be there, but they never show up.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: He says, those girls will show up.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: If they tell you they're going to be there, they'll be there.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: And boy, they were the next night.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: There were the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and all day Sunday.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: They came every night and they listened and listened and they never heard.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: The gospel before.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: And all the salvation sermons I preached that week and I preached the same sermon but used different texts.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: They used all testament texts because they used don't believe the new testament so I just preached all the Old Testament and they sat down and they listened and they listened and they listened and the young folks prayed for them or how they prayed.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: And so, Sunday morning came and one of these girls, the younger one, came to me and said, I got to talk to you, I said, all right.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: So during the Sunday school lesson time, women, the pastor study there, and the first question was, are you a rabbi?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: She couldn't figure out how I could be a rabbi because they didn't have my collar roll backwards.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Are you a rabbi?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: I said, no, I'm not a rabbi, I'm a priest.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: You are pleased?"
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: She said, and I said, yes, I'm a priest.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: She said, you don't look like a priest.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: Then I had to explain that, oh, Christians are priests.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're a priest too.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: You folks are, if you're saying you're a priest, which means you can come directly to God yourself.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to have any of men to help you.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to come through any other man to get to God.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's what that means.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: And so we talked.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, our name was Rachel.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, now Rachel, what you should do now is to receive the Savior.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: You've been hearing about all week.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, when you do, don't be surprised what might happen at home.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I said, I don't know if some Jewish families were, I have read that when a member of the family gets saved, they have a mock funeral for that person, and they tell them to get out, and they say, as far as that person is concerned, that person is dead, dead, and they have nothing more to do with it.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so, that evening, the order one, Toby, the mother of the youngsters that will be here one of these weeks of summer, they've been here in the last two, three summers.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: She came to me, saying thing, she said, I never heard this before, but she says, I believe it.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Then I understand it.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: I know what you're saying.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: The Jesus is the man and the Father would meet her.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: You don't want the Father to do what the Father would do.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: He told her and go the other way.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: So he wouldn't even have to meet his own daughter.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: Some of you have the wonderful love of your parents and all, how you ought to say God for it, and how you ought to obey them, and how you ought to honor them.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: Toby went to Washington, D.C., worked for the FBI, went to Bible's college out there.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, she fell in love with one of those bell players, came back and married him, asked me to marry them.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: But I couldn't, I was way up in northern Michigan, I couldn't marry them, get back up there for the meeting.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: They got married on a Saturday night, and I said to the people where we were in meetings in northern Michigan.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: I said, wouldn't be a bit surprise to see this young couple here in the meetings tomorrow.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: at one of the churches for their Sunday school are the next morning there they were setting out there in the parking lot waiting to go to Sunday school and go to church today they're working full time at Pensacola Christian College and serving God and they accepted Christ
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Some of you have an excepted Christ yet.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: You're afraid of what some body's going to think about it.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: The gang back home, or some of your relatives, these girls knew that they might be thrown out of the house.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: And they all are one lies told or leave and never come back.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: But I say God, they have worth it.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: To receive Jesus Christ and get saved anyhow.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: They suffered what the Lord Jesus suffered.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: His own brothers wouldn't believe in Him.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you go home after having been saved and dedicated your life to God and in some of your relatives don't understand and make it hard on you, don't get mad at them, don't argue with them, don't fight with them, love them and pray for them and be the best Christian you can be in front of them.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: But if they persecute you, remember that's what the Lord said, I'm going out the sufferer.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, he meant suffer.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: When he said suffer, he meant suffer.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: He suffered the hate of the world.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: He suffered the rejection of his friends and loved ones.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: And then suffered something else.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: He said, I'm going to block me, slain.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: So he suffered death.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Lord, tell me, he said, you mean to tell me that if I follow the Lord, I'm going to follow him to die.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, a lot of people have 800 and some people
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: And if 800 and some people could power Jim Jones to death and give Jim Jones everything that had in their allegiance and their money, leave their friends and leave their homes, leave everything.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: We ought to be able to do the same thing for Jesus Christ.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: What a great preacher God allowed Dr. Paul Levine to be.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: I can see why he is so sorely missed.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now his last point does raise an interesting thought in my mind.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: What am I?
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: What are we willing to give our all to?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: It should be Jesus Christ.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: We should be willing to live as disciples for Him.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you are.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be listening tomorrow as Dr. Paul Minces.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: No words.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: He gets blunt, but we need to hear it.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: God bless.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening.
