- 0:01Dot com Welcome to the Daily Quote, a podcast designed to
- 0:06kick start your day in a positive way.
- 0:08I'm your host, Andrew Mcgibbon for September 23rd.
- 0:11Today is National Energized Day, a holiday dedicated to tapping
- 0:16into your inner energy and discovering the power that
- 0:18already exists within you. Unlike holidays that focus on
- 0:23external celebrations, National Energized Day encourages us to
- 0:27turn inward and reconnect with our own source of motivation,
- 0:30creativity, and strength. The word energize combines inner
- 0:36with energize, suggesting that the most sustainable and
- 0:40powerful energy doesn't come from outside sources like
- 0:43caffeine, external validation, or temporary motivators.
- 0:48Instead, it comes from cultivating and accessing the
- 0:52wellspring of energy that exists within each of us.
- 0:55Although I have to say, a good cup of coffee doesn't hurt.
- 0:59This holiday reminds us that we all have an internal battery
- 1:03that can be recharged through self reflection, purposeful
- 1:06action and aligning our daily activities with our deeper
- 1:09values and passions. It's about finding that sweet
- 1:13spot where effort doesn't feel draining because it's connected
- 1:16to something meaningful. Today's quote comes from
- 1:20motivational speaker Jim Rohn, who said you have two choices.
- 1:26You can make a living or you can design A life.
- 1:31Rhone's observation captures the essence of what National
- 1:34Energized Day is all about. When we're just making a living,
- 1:39we're running on external energy, paychecks, deadlines,
- 1:42other people's expectations. This kind of energy is finite
- 1:46and often leaves us feeling depleted of when we design A
- 1:50life. We make conscious choices about
- 1:54how we spend our time and energy based on our values and vision.
- 1:58We tap into something much more powerful.
- 2:01We access our inner energy, the kind that renews itself, because
- 2:05it's connected to purpose. Think about the difference
- 2:08between doing something because you have to versus doing
- 2:11something because it aligns with who you are and what you want to
- 2:15create in the world. The second scenario doesn't just
- 2:18use less energy, it actually generates energy.
- 2:22That's the power of being energized.
- 2:26Rone understood that life isn't about having the perfect
- 2:29conditions or unlimited resources.
- 2:32It's about making intentional choices that connect your daily
- 2:35actions with your deeper sense of purpose and meaning.
- 2:39So as you go about your day, consider Rone's wisdom about
- 2:43designing versus just making a living.
- 2:46What areas of your life would benefit from more intentional
- 2:50design? Where are you running on
- 2:53external energy when you could be tapping into your inner
- 2:56source? Maybe it's finding ways to
- 2:59incorporate more of what energizes you into your work
- 3:02day. Maybe it's saying no to
- 3:05commitments that drain you so you can say yes to opportunities
- 3:09that align with your values. Maybe it's simply taking 5
- 3:12minutes to reconnect with why you're doing what you're doing.
- 3:17National Energize Day reminds us that we have more control over
- 3:21our energy levels than we think. The key is making choices that
- 3:26feed our inner fire rather than just responding to outside
- 3:30demands. That's going to do it for today.
- 3:34I'm Andrew McGivern, signing off for now, but I'd be Bach
- 3:40tomorrow. Same pod time, same pod
- 3:47stationed with another daily quote.
