- 0:01Hello.
- 0:01Hello.
- 0:02Today we are talking Reality Transurfing and pendulums.
- 0:07Pendulums are simply a thought structure that everyone thinks and it only wants your energy.
- 0:14And we're gonna talk about how pendulums sense the energy of your potential and make other people behave in such a way that gets to you.
- 0:24And in sports, this happens often, we talk about.
- 0:29Favorite sports teams and even how to enjoy the game when things don't go your way.
- 0:38You're listening to the Stop the Mind Screw podcast.
- 0:41I'm your host, Kathie Owen.
- 0:42I have been a certified fitness trainer and certified life coach since 2002.
- 0:48On this channel, we talk about fitness, having a growth mindset, habits, and even some Reality Transurfing.
- 0:55It's Tuesday, so we are talking Transurfing on Tuesday.
- 1:01Today.
- 1:01We're talking a quote from the book, and actually we talked about this quote last week, but today we're going to apply this quote to sports.
- 1:11Here's the quote.
- 1:12The people that get in your way are not pendulums so much as they are their puppets.
- 1:19Pendulums, sense the energy of your potential and make other people behave in such a way that will get to you.
- 1:26As a result.
- 1:28You get irritated and the harlequine even higher.
- 1:33The pendulums makes it swing and receives the energy of your irritation.
- 1:39Vadim Zeland from the book Reality Transurfing.
- 1:44On October 11th, 2022, I experienced what was probably the best moment of Astros baseball history in all of my 50 plus years of watching the game.
- 1:59I grew up a huge Astros fan.
- 2:01My father has a PhD in math and is actually a very brilliant man.
- 2:06Me, on the other hand, I'm smart, but math skills I think they skipped a generation.
- 2:14To bond with my dad.
- 2:15I watched sports and went fishing with him.
- 2:18I have two brothers who played baseball and know the sport very well, and I have two sons who also love the game.
- 2:26Baseball is my sport and I love the Houston Astros.
- 2:31However, I also understand the pendulum and actually feel empathy for those who end up on the other end of the spectrum, as in losing.
- 2:41That is everyone except for, well, let me think about that.
- 2:46The Yankees.
- 2:47Yeah.
- 2:49The Astros have actually always been a losing team.
- 2:53Maybe not for the last 10 years, but they have in the last 50 before that.
- 2:59And in fact, the first time they made it to the World Series was in 2005 and they lost.
- 3:06Every game they played in the World Series, they didn't even win one game.
- 3:11Talk about disappointment.
- 3:13That dang pendulum.
- 3:17So the Astros are currently in the playoffs of 2022 and in game one versus the Seattle Mariners, we struggled.
- 3:25You never see Justin Verlander struggle the way he did in this game, and we were behind the entire game.
- 3:33Something I've grown accustomed to.
- 3:37But I was watching the game.
- 3:38I was actually reading a book and sitting on the couch thinking, Yeah, they're not gonna win this game.
- 3:44We came to the bottom of the ninth.
- 3:46We were the home team.
- 3:47There were two outs and we were down by two runs.
- 3:51There were two runners on base, and the go ahead run comes to the plate and it's Yordan.
- 3:57Alvarez, we call him the big man.
- 4:01I figured there was no way they would pitch to him that would be ignorant because the man can hit a ball out of the strike zone out of the park.
- 4:12But I kept the game on just in case.
- 4:16First pitch Ball one.
- 4:18Yep.
- 4:19They're gonna walk him.
- 4:20I thought smart move on the Mariners part, but the next pitch that came, it was a little outside and one of Alvarez's favorite pitches and he smacked the ball out of the park.
- 4:36Way up in right field in the upper deck.
- 4:41I really could not believe my eyes.
- 4:43I heard the ball get hit.
- 4:45I wasn't looking at the TV because I was, the pendulum had gotten my energy, but then I couldn't believe it.
- 4:54I, I was screaming so loud that I scared my dog.
- 4:59I have watched that play that hit a hundred times now, and it never gets old for me.
- 5:08My boys were actually at the game and they said the atmosphere was insane.
- 5:13The pendulum went wild.
- 5:15Dopamine was in high gear, and that could be the very thing that takes us all the way to the World Series and further.
- 5:26But this is not a sports commentary by any means, but in a huge fact, a lesson okay, we gotta mention Jose Altuve and sports psychology.
- 5:39I really think Jose Altuve understands pendulums and he can teach us a great lesson on how not to become reactive and irritated, so the pendulum does not get your energy.
- 5:53What happened to the Astros in 2018 and 2019 could have been devastating.
- 5:59Instead, the team has turned the situation around and used the pendulum sway to their advantage.
- 6:06The Astros were caught in a cheating scandal where they were stealing signs and supposedly giving signals to one another so they could get hits, but there's something that the novice fan does not understand here.
- 6:21Stealing signs to identify which pitch is coming next has gone on since the beginning of baseball.
- 6:28It is actually a strategy used in baseball, and all teams have done it and did it at this time.
- 6:38The Astros were an easy scapegoat.
- 6:41Their fan base is small compared to the Yankees, Dodgers, and the Red Sox, and so is their pocketbook.
- 6:49Identifying pitches that are coming your way is one thing.
- 6:52Hitting them is another.
- 6:55You still need to make a split second decision on when to swing and how to swing the bat in order to hit the ball.
- 7:05But that is where habit comes into play.
- 7:08Professional athletes of Altuve caliber practice in their minds and are in the habit of how, when, and where to hit the ball.
- 7:18The cheating scandal happened in 2017 today, now five years later, the Astros have the best record in the American League and are in the playoffs.
- 7:29As of recording this, Episode.
- 7:31As you know, we are in the playoffs in round one.
- 7:37And we still don't know the outcome.
- 7:39But I can tell you one thing for sure, Altuve knows how to handle the pendulum with class.
- 7:46He may have learned it, but he does know.
- 7:50Jose Altuve, Yuli Guillo and Alex Brigman are the only batters left from the 2017 team.
- 7:57And when they come up to bat at any of our huge rivals like the Angels or the Yankees Stadium, they are booed incessantly like.
- 8:08It's awful I can't even imagine how they feel or how they've come to handle it, But Jose Altuve appears to do better when he is booed.
- 8:21It's actually quite funny.
- 8:22What he has done is conquered the pendulum, or he has made the pendulum sway in a different direction away from him.
- 8:33We could all learn from his attitude and.
- 8:38You know, enjoy the game.
- 8:40Don't get caught in the pendulum sway.
- 8:43Now, as a fan of the team, I have to take a different stance on the pendulum.
- 8:48I was listening to the Storytelling Lab podcast with Rain Bennett, episode 106.
- 8:54Titled, Cultivating Leadership Skills with Jerry Sandusky, and I'll have a link to the episode in the show notes and the description that I listen to.
- 9:05And Jerry Sandusky is the son of famous NFL coach John Sandusky.
- 9:12By the way, this is not the same.
- 9:14Jerry Sandusky as the Penn State coach, as they are not even related.
- 9:22But in this episode, Jerry Sandusky talks about enjoying the game rather than getting caught up in the drama of the game.
- 9:30He talks about how most fans spend the entire game waiting for the outcome, and then they decide how they're gonna feel.
- 9:38This is being caught in the pendulum's sway..
- 9:43As Vadim states in today's quote, the pendulum makes it swing and receives the energy of your irritation.
- 9:52Jerry proposes a great idea.
- 9:55Enjoy the game as a spectator of it all.
- 9:58Don't get caught up in the drama of the pendulum.
- 10:02Instead, sit down and observe remaining neutral.
- 10:08This is not to say you cannot enjoy your team's win.
- 10:11Guess what?
- 10:12You actually enjoy it more.
- 10:14You quit making it about you because it's not about you.
- 10:18It is about the experience.
- 10:22Do you need help with this?
- 10:24I created a download to help you understand the pendulums in your life.
- 10:28Not all pendulums are destructive.
- 10:30Identify where you spend your energy so you can be released of the pendulum's Prod.
- 10:37I e quit giving the pendulum the energy of your irritation.
- 10:42You can download yours today at www.kathieowen.com/reality-transurfing I hope to see you there.
- 10:54In conclusion, this whole episode applies to life.
- 10:58How can you imply the enjoyment of things instead of giving into the pendulum pendulum, sense the energy of your potential and make other people behave in such a way to get to you.
- 11:10As a result, you get irritated and the harlequin jumps even higher I'm definitely gonna give this a try as the Astros make their way through the playoffs, and I'll let you know how that goes.
- 11:26All right, that's my episode for today.
- 11:29If you know someone who can benefit from this, please share it with them, and until next time, I'll see you next time.
- 11:35Peace out and namaste.
