- 0:00If you could turn in your Bible with me to 2
- 0:02Corinthians chapter 13, I want to share something
- 0:05I never saw before until this week. And it's
- 0:14actually kind of part two to what I brought last
- 0:18week. I believe that God is a God of restoration.
- 0:23Everybody say restoration. And I'm reading from
- 0:27the New International Version this morning, 2
- 0:30Corinthians 13. And I want to read verse 11.
- 0:35It says, finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice.
- 0:42We've been doing that this morning, right? And
- 0:47then it says this, strive for full restoration.
- 0:53Isn't that good? Strive for full restoration.
- 1:00I think the New King James says something like,
- 1:02be complete. Be complete. Strive for full restoration.
- 1:12That's our text, but I want to read the rest.
- 1:15Encourage one another. Be of one mind. Live in
- 1:17peace. And the God of love and peace will be
- 1:22with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
- 1:27We're going to practice that right now. Dale,
- 1:40will you stand right now? No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:47It's deep in here this morning. All God's people
- 1:52here send their greetings. May the grace of the
- 1:54Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the
- 1:58fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- 2:02Father, we thank you for your word today. We
- 2:06ask God that it will be real in our hearts and
- 2:11that you would set people on a path today of
- 2:17restoration. There is a Japanese art form. It's
- 2:25called Kintsugi. Kintsugi. Anybody ever heard
- 2:29of that? Some of you have. Kintsugi is when they
- 2:34take broken pottery and they repair the cracks
- 2:39with liquid gold. And the process makes the cracked
- 2:46vessel stronger than it was before. And way more
- 2:52valuable than it was before. This is the process
- 2:59of restoration. Kintsugi. A noted artist, Lord
- 3:13Landseer, tells a story about how he stayed in
- 3:19a guest room. And there was a pitcher of soda
- 3:23water that was accidentally spilled on the decorated
- 3:27wall. And it left an unsightly stain. But while
- 3:35he was staying there and when the family left,
- 3:38he took out his charcoal, whatever you call them.
- 3:52and begin to stroke that stain. And when it was
- 3:58done, it was a beautiful waterfall bordered by
- 4:06trees and wildlife. And that began a trend in
- 4:13that room of whoever would stay there would put
- 4:17their art on that wall. That is restoration.
- 4:24If an artist can turn a stain into a masterful
- 4:31work of art, and if a Japanese process can make
- 4:36a broken piece of pottery worthy of a museum,
- 4:42then how much more can the blood of Calvary Bring
- 4:51restoration to a life and make something broken,
- 4:58beautiful, and glorious. I feel like I can just
- 5:06stop preaching right now and give the altar call.
- 5:17Okay, somebody go kiss that man. Yes. Yes. Greet
- 5:26one another with a holy kiss. Yeah! I feel the
- 5:42Lord in this house. And I want to say too, Brother
- 5:49Tom, I want to thank you for all the work that
- 5:52you put into this lawn this summer. And just
- 5:55when I drive up, it looks great. Thank you. Thank
- 5:59you. And others as well, but Tom has kind of
- 6:03taken up the mantle. And it has been amazing.
- 6:10Why does God need to restore us? Adam. The first
- 6:18human had a perfect eternal body, lived in a
- 6:24perfect world, had perfect fellowship with God,
- 6:29had a perfect spouse like I do. Hallelujah. And
- 6:42when he fell into sin, He paid an incredible
- 6:47price. It cost him everything. And do you know
- 6:56what he needed? Restoration. He suddenly became
- 7:03totally aware of right and wrong and evil. He
- 7:07lost the glory that God covered him with. He
- 7:11knew the shame of nakedness. He traded immortality
- 7:16for aging and death. He needed restoration because
- 7:21of everything that he had lost. And we see, if
- 7:26you read in Genesis, you see that God killed
- 7:29an animal, created clothing for him, and covered
- 7:33him because he's a God of restoration. Humanity
- 7:39now needs to be restored. Every single one of
- 7:43us. needs restoration. Many wandering through
- 7:50life just think that this is all there is. But
- 7:53when you are restored into right relationship
- 7:57with your creator, then you realize that your
- 8:01eyes are opened and you go, whoa, there's way
- 8:06more to this than crawling around this planet
- 8:09just taking care of my family and making money.
- 8:14God wants to restore you into right relationship
- 8:18with Him. And so, the Father did not mess around
- 8:26with the fragility of humanity. The Father, from
- 8:35the beginning, planned to send His Son to the
- 8:40cross. Four or five thousand years after Adam
- 8:47fell, Jesus went to the cross. The veil of the
- 8:55curtain was torn in two so that you and I could
- 9:00be restored into right relationship with the
- 9:03Father. Restoration. Restoration. What is it?
- 9:11What does the verse say? Strive for full restoration.
- 9:19I love that. The English Standard Version says,
- 9:24aim for restoration. The Voice Bible, which is
- 9:31a newer translation, says this, repair whatever
- 9:36is broken. My wife is going to apply this verse
- 9:46to our house. It's not going to be good for me.
- 9:55I want to just walk through a couple of characters
- 9:59in the Old Testament that needed restoration.
- 10:05Joseph. Joseph, the favorite of his father. but
- 10:11hated by his brothers. His wicked brothers lied
- 10:17to their father about his death and sold him
- 10:21into slavery. And as a slave, he was falsely
- 10:27accused of adultery and thrown into an Egyptian
- 10:32prison for years. But through it all, Joseph
- 10:42served those around him. He continued to operate
- 10:46with integrity. And he was faithful for years.
- 10:52Not just a day or two. But for years, he was
- 10:58faithful to what God had called him to. Whatever
- 11:03God had called him to. Nobody saw. Nobody remembered.
- 11:10People forgot him. They forgot him over and over
- 11:14and over and over again. But there was one that
- 11:18did not forget Joseph. And Joseph needed one
- 11:24thing. He needed restoration. And he had lost
- 11:30everything. But God saw Joseph, and God did not
- 11:37forget Joseph. And I want you to know right now,
- 11:42in your situation, that nobody else might see,
- 11:47but God sees. And God will restore you. I love
- 11:53what Peter said in 1 Peter chapter 5. He said,
- 11:58and the God of all grace who called you to eternal
- 12:02glory in Christ after you have suffered a little
- 12:06while will himself restore you and make you strong,
- 12:12firm, and steadfast. Hallelujah. That went into
- 12:17a couple of you. I want to read it again. And
- 12:19the God of all grace, who called you to eternal
- 12:24glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little
- 12:29while, will himself restore you and make you
- 12:34strong. Isn't that Joseph's story? And Joseph,
- 12:39if you don't know Joseph's story, you need to
- 12:41read about it. He became a slave and he became
- 12:45a, it was in an Egyptian prison, which is not
- 12:50like, you know, our prisons here, even the ones
- 12:53not well taken care of are posh compared to the
- 12:57Egyptian prisons. And there he was in the Egyptian
- 13:01prison serving faithfully. And God exalted him
- 13:07to be the number two ruler of Egypt. I think
- 13:14that's restoration, don't you? That's restoration.
- 13:18And Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 to strive
- 13:24for full. Restoration. Strive for full restoration.
- 13:32Let's go to another one. Job. How many of you
- 13:37like Job? In my devotional time, I'm in the middle
- 13:42of Job right now. And I find myself strangely
- 13:47relating with him in my surfacy kind of ways.
- 13:53His obviously, the depth of his suffering. I've
- 13:58never met anybody that could match. But Job went
- 14:03through his trial, not because of his sin, but
- 14:05because of his righteousness. He was striving
- 14:08to live for God. And the enemy came and accused
- 14:12him before God. Or he was talking with God. And
- 14:17God said, have you considered my servant Job?
- 14:23And Job... went through trial like none other.
- 14:32He lost everything that he had spent his lifetime
- 14:37building. He lost all of his animals, which was
- 14:42the representation of wealth in that day. He
- 14:46lost everything. His children, all of them, died.
- 14:55In one day. His wealth taken from him. In one
- 15:01day. I get thrown off when I have car trouble.
- 15:17Job lost everything. And even so, listen to what
- 15:28he said. Naked I came from my mother's womb and
- 15:31naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord
- 15:35has taken away. May the name of the Lord be praised.
- 15:40At the end of the day, he had lost his children.
- 15:45And he had lost everything that he owned. And
- 15:50he rose up in worship and said, God is worthy.
- 15:55of my praise. Wow! And so part two happened of
- 16:02his suffering and the enemy was allowed to touch
- 16:05the health of Job. And he sat on a heap for seven
- 16:12days, did not say a word. And then began to dialogue
- 16:17with his friends about his suffering. His own
- 16:21wife comes to him and says, if you'll just curse
- 16:24God, you'll die. And Job needs something in this
- 16:33moment. He needs restoration. I want to read
- 16:43to you the end of the story. The Lord blessed
- 16:47the latter part of Job's life more than the former
- 16:50part. He had 14 ,000 sheep, 6 ,000 camels, 1
- 16:55,000 yoke of oxen, and 1 ,000 donkeys. And he
- 17:01also had seven sons and three daughters. The
- 17:03first daughter he named Jemima, the second Keziah,
- 17:07and the third Karen Hapuch. Whatever that means.
- 17:13I guess I could find out. Nowhere in all the
- 17:16land were there found women as beautiful as Job's
- 17:20daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance
- 17:23along with their brothers. After this, Job lived
- 17:27140 years. He saw his children and their children
- 17:31to the fourth generation, and so Job died an
- 17:35old man and full of years. Isn't that amazing?
- 17:44That's restoration. Here's a third character.
- 17:48I'm trying to move through these quickly. Naomi.
- 17:54Naomi followed her husband during a drought to
- 17:59the land of Moab so that they could survive,
- 18:02where her two sons married two Moabite women.
- 18:09And while in the land of Moab, her husband passed
- 18:12away, her first son passed away, and her second
- 18:16son passed away, her first daughter -in -law
- 18:19went back to her father's household. Ruth clung
- 18:25to her. But in the end, she came back to Bethlehem
- 18:32with nothing. And she said this, Don't call me
- 18:40Naomi. This is the only person in the Bible that
- 18:45gave themselves a new name. That gave themselves
- 18:48a new name. Several God gave a new name to. But
- 18:53Naomi renamed herself. You know what she renamed
- 18:57herself? Mary. Mara. Bitter. That's what it means,
- 19:08bitter. Bitter. And she said this, I went away
- 19:14full to Moab, but the Lord has brought me back
- 19:18empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted
- 19:23me. The Almighty has brought misfortune upon
- 19:28me. Wow. You know what Naomi needed? Restoration.
- 19:41She needed restoration. And I thank God that
- 19:46the story does not end there. Amen? Because God
- 19:51used her Moabite daughter -in -law, Ruth, through
- 19:56a series of miracles and a kinsman redeemer that
- 20:01reflects who Jesus is in the New Testament. to
- 20:05position Naomi to be the great -grandmother of
- 20:11King David. The story is breathtaking. The power
- 20:23of God on full display. And she, even more importantly,
- 20:32was in the lineage, of the Messiah. And there
- 20:38would come another Mary that would give birth
- 20:42to a son that would redeem the world. Hallelujah.
- 20:48She needed restoration. Now let me quickly share
- 20:52some thoughts about restoration from these three
- 20:55stories. Number one, being fully restored does
- 20:59not mean that you quit suffering loss. Job still
- 21:05lost all of his first batch of children. You
- 21:11think he didn't miss them? Do you think that
- 21:15they were replaced? Naomi still lost her husband
- 21:23and her sons. These were the loves of her life.
- 21:33But as she embraced restoration, as she embraced
- 21:40it, God began to work in her a new thing. God
- 21:46worked in Job a new season. Number two, full
- 21:51restoration does not mean going back to the life
- 21:55that we once had. A lot of times when people
- 21:59say, Lord, restore me, what they're really praying
- 22:02is, God, give me the life I used to have. But
- 22:06God's got a different plan in the restoration.
- 22:10And he's not going to do the same thing that
- 22:13he did before in your life. Your life is not
- 22:16on a loop of repeat. God is going to do a new
- 22:20thing. Hallelujah. in your loss, is working in
- 22:35your life in ways that you cannot even see. Joseph,
- 22:43I know you want to go home and be with your dad
- 22:48and your brother Benjamin, but hang in there,
- 22:52son. I need you to stay faithful in that prison.
- 22:58For one more year. I need somebody. That can
- 23:05lead. The nation. Of Egypt. I know you've lost
- 23:12a lot Naomi. And I know you blame me. Right now.
- 23:18For what you're going through. But Naomi somehow
- 23:23keep. Trusting me. Because in a couple of generations,
- 23:31there's a shepherd boy that has to come forth.
- 23:42He's going to be a king. Full restoration embraces
- 23:56The purposes of God that are operating in the
- 24:01background that you cannot see. You do not see
- 24:12it, but God is at work. It means saying, God,
- 24:18this thing called the kingdom, it is bigger than
- 24:23my life. the ones pulling the strings, God. You're
- 24:31the one pulling the strings. And I don't see
- 24:34it right now, and I don't know it right now,
- 24:37but I trust you. Hallelujah. I trust you. Now
- 24:45these first three illustrations were illustrations
- 24:49where people did not cause their own mess. Joseph
- 24:55was sold into slavery by his brothers. Naomi
- 24:59was the product of just tragic tragedy all around
- 25:05her. A famine in the land and sickness coming
- 25:10to her household. I want to talk about one now
- 25:14that caused his own downfall. Samson. Samson
- 25:24lost everything because of his own personal compromise.
- 25:31He was full of lust and disobedience to God's
- 25:36Spirit. He was unfaithful to God's calling. And
- 25:43the Spirit of God ended up leaving him because
- 25:47he refused integrity. He was selfish and sinful.
- 25:56And his life ended up in a Philistine prison
- 26:00with his eyes gouged out. And it was his own
- 26:06fault. I want to tell you that you might be living,
- 26:23In the fruit of your own failure. But even then,
- 26:31can I tell you that God is a restorer. Listen
- 26:37to what the Bible says about Samson. Y 'all,
- 26:41if you read the story of Samson, you realize
- 26:43that his hair was significant. He had taken a
- 26:47Nazarite vow, which means he would never cut
- 26:50his hair. And when his hair was cut, that was
- 26:55the last straw of disobedience. The Spirit of
- 26:58God left him. But listen to this in Judges 16
- 27:02.22. But the hair on his head began to grow again
- 27:10after it had been shaved. Can I tell you that
- 27:17it's not hair that God was concerned about? But
- 27:21Samson's heart changed and he repented. And I
- 27:28want to read the story. The rulers of the Philistines
- 27:31assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon,
- 27:35their God, and to celebrate saying, our God has
- 27:38delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hands.
- 27:43And when the people saw him, they praised their
- 27:46God, saying, Our God has delivered our enemy
- 27:48into our hands, the one who laid waste our land
- 27:52and multiplied our slain. And while they were
- 27:56drunk, in high spirits they shouted, Bring out
- 28:01Samson to entertain us. So they called Samson
- 28:05out of the prison and he performed for them.
- 28:08And when they stood him among the pillars, Samson
- 28:11said to the servant who held his hand, put me
- 28:15where I can feel the pillars that support the
- 28:19temple so that I might lean against them. And
- 28:24the temple was crowded with men and women. All
- 28:27the rulers of the Philistines were there. And
- 28:30on the roof were about 3 ,000 men and women watching
- 28:34Samson perform. And Samson prayed to the Lord,
- 28:38Sovereign Lord, remember me, please God. Strengthen
- 28:43me just once more. And let me with one blow get
- 28:49revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes. And
- 28:54Samson reached down toward the two central pillars
- 28:58on which the temple stood and bracing himself
- 29:00against them, his right hand on the one and his
- 29:03left hand on the other. Samson said, let me die
- 29:07with the Philistines. And he pushed with all
- 29:10his might and down came the temple on the rulers
- 29:13and the people in it. Thus he killed many more
- 29:16Philistines when he died than when he lived.
- 29:22That, friends, is restoration. Sometimes sin
- 29:31disqualifies you from what you used to have.
- 29:39And can I just put a word in here, especially
- 29:43sexual sin. Read a verse from Corinthians. Flee
- 29:52from sexual immorality. All other sins a person
- 29:57commits are outside the body, but whoever sins
- 30:01sexually sins against their own body. You are
- 30:08stealing your own future, your own destiny, when
- 30:15you live in sexual immorality of any type. There
- 30:21isn't one type worse than the other. You are
- 30:23sinning against your own life. And there are
- 30:28some things that you will disqualify yourself
- 30:33from if you continue down that path. I've seen
- 30:40preachers that are disqualified from the pulpit
- 30:45because of the way that they have lived. Does
- 30:51this mean God cannot forgive them? No, it does
- 30:53not. But they disqualify themselves from calling
- 30:57and from things that God wanted them to do and
- 31:00wanted them to be because they sin against their
- 31:04own life and limit, limit. This is why God wants
- 31:10you to walk in purity and wholeness. But can
- 31:15I tell you that although God might not be able
- 31:20to give you back certain things. He can restore
- 31:26you to the kingdom. He can find a place for you.
- 31:39This word restore is the word It's the Greek
- 31:47word. I'm looking for it. I got off my notes
- 31:57a long time ago. It is the Greek word. Katartizo.
- 32:16Remember when Jesus came up to the disciples,
- 32:19they weren't disciples yet. Peter and his brother
- 32:22were there working on the nets. And you know
- 32:28what they were doing? They were catartizoing
- 32:30the nets. They were mending the nets. That's
- 32:39the same word. Catartizo. And in Galatians chapter
- 32:476, Galatians chapter 6 and verse 1, we see this
- 32:56word again, catartizo. Brethren, if a man is
- 33:03overtaken in any trespass, say any trespass,
- 33:08any trespass. had an open book right now and
- 33:17you could see all the sins that have ever been
- 33:21committed that are represented in this room,
- 33:23our minds might be blown at what we read. Nobody
- 33:33in here wants that to be exposed to everybody
- 33:38else. And yet the church has a reputation of
- 33:46condemning people. And God wants us to quit condemning
- 33:52people. Because there is no trespass that is
- 33:57bigger than the cross. Hallelujah. There is no
- 34:01sin that you've committed that the cross cannot
- 34:06overcome. that the blood of the Lamb cannot be
- 34:10applied to and see your life changed forever.
- 34:14Hallelujah. And this says in Galatians chapter
- 34:196, Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass,
- 34:24you who are spiritual, restore such a one in
- 34:33a spirit of gentleness. Considering yourself
- 34:39lest you also be tempted. Catartizo. Mend the
- 34:46nets. Repair that which is broken. Restore. In
- 35:00Joel chapter 1. In verse 2. It says, hear this
- 35:11you elders and give ear all you inhabitants of
- 35:16the land. Has anything like this happened in
- 35:19your days? Or even the days of your father? Tell
- 35:26your children about it. Let your children tell
- 35:28their children and their children another generation.
- 35:34What the chewing locust left the swarming locust
- 35:39has eaten. What the swarming locust left, the
- 35:45crawling locust has eaten. And what the crawling
- 35:49locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.
- 35:57Joel is describing the stages that a locust goes
- 36:02through in its metamorphosis. And it's devouring
- 36:07nature. And when it finally gets to be fully
- 36:12mature, it wipes out everything in the land.
- 36:17These were in Joel's days the armies of the Lord
- 36:23that came to judge the house. And we used to
- 36:28sing that song about it. Blow the trumpet in
- 36:30Zion, Zion. And we used to sing. Basically, it's
- 36:36saying judgment is on the house. Judgment is
- 36:40on the house. The locusts have taken everything.
- 36:44We didn't understand that song. And some of you
- 36:51can relate. You have been lambasted from every
- 36:58direction. These locusts. Stealing and taking.
- 37:08And what Israel needed was restoration. So Joel
- 37:20calls them to repentance. He calls them, you
- 37:25can read the different verses. Awake you drunkards
- 37:30and weep. Verse 9, lament. Be ashamed, you farmers.
- 37:36Wail, you vinedressers. Verse 13, gird yourselves
- 37:40and lament. 14, consecrate a fast. Call a sacred
- 37:45assembly. He's calling the house of Israel to
- 37:50repent. And then he prays, Lord, to you I cry
- 37:54out. And then in chapter 2, that's when it says,
- 38:01blow the trumpet in Zion. Sound an alarm on my
- 38:05holy mountain. Let the inhabitants of the land
- 38:09tremble. He's calling them to repentance. There's
- 38:19way more to that prophecy than what I have time
- 38:22to divulge this morning. But restoration happens
- 38:29in chapter 2, verse 25. It says this, So I will
- 38:39restore to you the years that the swarming locust
- 38:44has eaten. Now he goes backwards. He starts with
- 38:50the mature locust and goes backwards. Because
- 38:54he's describing full restoration. I will restore
- 39:00to you the years that the swarming locust has
- 39:03eaten. The crawling locust. The consuming locust.
- 39:07And the chewing locust. My great army. Which
- 39:12I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty. And
- 39:19be satisfied. And praise the name of the Lord
- 39:23your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.
- 39:27And my people shall never be put to shame. And
- 39:32then you shall know that I am in the midst of
- 39:36Israel. I am the Lord your God, and there is
- 39:40no other. My people shall never be put to shame.
- 39:47Hallelujah. Now we like the next part of that
- 39:51prophecy because he says, and it shall come to
- 39:54pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit
- 39:57on all flesh. Talking about the baptism of the
- 40:01Holy Spirit in Joel chapter 2. But what does
- 40:05it talk about first? Full restoration. Hallelujah.
- 40:12Hallelujah. What the enemy has stolen. What the
- 40:17enemy has stolen, God is going to restore in
- 40:24the name of Jesus. You have sickness in your
- 40:29body. What do you need? Restoration. You have
- 40:33depression that you can't get out of. What do
- 40:36you need? Restoration. You have loss that you
- 40:40don't know how you're going to get to the other
- 40:42side of. What do you need? Restoration. Well,
- 40:45God is in this place and he is a restorer. He
- 40:50is one that builds back. He's the one that leads
- 40:54forward in Jesus' name. He's the one that makes
- 40:57sense. Hallelujah. He's the one that reveals.
- 41:01He is the one that positions people right where
- 41:06they need to be. So what should I do, pastor?
- 41:14First of all, you should trust God with your
- 41:19life and with the circumstances that you don't
- 41:25understand. His purposes that you can't see are
- 41:31at work. Trust God. Number two, stay faithful
- 41:39in the midst of your trial. Don't give in or
- 41:45give up even through the years. Even through
- 41:51the years. My mom prayed for her son, my brother,
- 41:58to come to Christ for 35 years. I am thankful
- 42:03that she did not quit. Amen? You stay faithful
- 42:12and do not give up. Number three, repent of any
- 42:17known sin. The Holy Spirit will make plain. where
- 42:24you are falling short, repent of any known sin
- 42:30and get right with God. And number four, and
- 42:35I'm going to close with this scripture. Number
- 42:37four is a wonderful passage. Stay near the master.
- 42:41Go with me to Luke chapter six. Turn there quickly.
- 42:45Luke chapter six and verse 40. This is a powerful
- 42:53passage of Scripture. And we see here again,
- 43:07catartizo, catartizo, Luke 640. A disciple is
- 43:18not above his teacher. But everyone who is perfectly
- 43:23trained. Everybody say perfectly trained. Guess
- 43:30what word that is? Catartizo. Mended. Molded.
- 43:40Restored. When you are perfectly restored. Wow.
- 43:47Everyone who is perfectly trained. will be like
- 43:52his teacher. Wow. Anybody out there want to be
- 44:00like Jesus? Anybody out there want to look like
- 44:04the master? Any students and disciples out there
- 44:07trying to grow up into the image of the son,
- 44:11Jesus Christ? Stay near the master. Keep learning.
- 44:18God is perfecting you. When you are perfectly
- 44:21trained, when catartizo happens in your life,
- 44:26you will look like the master. Hallelujah. Jesus
- 44:29will be evident in your life. His image will
- 44:33be stamped on your heart. When the father looks
- 44:36at you, he will see the reflection of his son.
- 44:40Hallelujah. That's what we're after. That is
- 44:45restoration. God, you take my broken life. You
- 44:52take my broken life. And you take me through
- 45:03a process that is better than Kintsugi. You put
- 45:18me back together better than I was because of
- 45:22the blood of the Lamb. Naomi, at the end of her
- 45:28life, when she could see the hand of God, when
- 45:34she watched what happened with Ruth and Boaz,
- 45:37no, she wouldn't want to go through it again.
- 45:41No, she wouldn't wish any of that on even her
- 45:45enemies. But she was thanking God for his perfect
- 45:49plan happening in her life. Joseph, he wouldn't
- 45:57want to go through all that again. He wouldn't
- 46:00want anybody to go through that again. But he
- 46:05told his brothers. At the end, they were afraid
- 46:08he was going to kill him. And he said it was
- 46:11God's plan to save life and not destroy it. God
- 46:16did this, not you. Hallelujah. Oh, praise the
- 46:22Lord. God did it. Job, at the end of his life,
- 46:32was thanking God for his faithfulness, his goodness,
- 46:38reflecting the righteousness of God back to him.
- 46:47Even Samson, thankful for restoration. This morning,
- 46:54God wants to restore your life. This morning,
- 47:03you are seeing areas of your life that you're
- 47:08going, wow, I didn't know, God, that you were
- 47:11working in that area. exercising your divine
- 47:18plan in that area. And this morning, you need
- 47:25to declare emphatically, God, I trust you. Let's
- 47:34pray. Lord, you are here. In this place. You're
- 47:56speaking to hearts. Your word. Lord, you're working.
- 48:17In fact, it's like you're pouring oil over people
- 48:21right now. You're illuminating things by your
- 48:30Spirit. Lord, I just break right now the voice
- 48:45of the enemy that would condemn, that would say
- 48:55there's no hope, that would say you're always
- 48:59going to be where you are. We break the lies
- 49:05of the enemy now in Jesus' name. Dreams that
- 49:18have died. Lord, I speak life into those dreams.
- 49:37Somebody here that's ready to just give up and
- 49:41throw in the towel. But God is coming alongside
- 49:45of you this morning saying, you're not alone.
- 49:51I am walking with you. And if this word this
- 50:00morning spoke to a very specific situation in
- 50:05your life where you need to stand up and you
- 50:09need to say, God, I trust you. I want to invite
- 50:12you to do that right now. To just stand up and
- 50:17just say, God, I trust you. Come on. Come on.
- 50:25Come on. Come on. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
- 50:37Now this command in 1 Corinthians 13, strive
- 50:41for full restoration. It is a command to your
- 50:45own life to not settle for second best or to
- 50:50just go, oh, I guess this is the way that it's
- 50:53always going to be. And what that does is it
- 50:57steals your faith from believing God for more.
- 51:02It steals from you. And so you in your own life.
- 51:09need to strive not for partial restoration, but
- 51:13for full restoration in the name of Jesus. But
- 51:19it is also a command for us to help others, that
- 51:27we are contending for your life, that we are
- 51:31believing with you and for you to be fully restored
- 51:35in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah. And so it
- 51:41is a command for you to participate in the restoration
- 51:46of others in the body of Christ. And so those
- 51:52of you standing right now, we are about to stand
- 51:57with you in a moment. And we're going to contend
- 52:01with you. We're going to strive for full restoration.
- 52:09In Jesus' mighty name. I'm going to pray first
- 52:15for all those standing. And then after I'm done
- 52:19praying, I want to invite you to stand with somebody
- 52:23that's standing. And I want to invite you to
- 52:27pray with them in Jesus' mighty name. Father,
- 52:31we come before you. And these that are standing
- 52:35that have responded to this word are looking
- 52:38at a situation in their life that they don't
- 52:41like. They're looking at a situation in their
- 52:45life that's possibly uncomfortable or maybe very
- 52:47uncomfortable. And they're looking at that situation
- 52:51that is stealing from them. And Lord, they are
- 52:56lifting up their eyes to you. And they are saying,
- 53:00Father, I, trust you. And God, as you are working
- 53:09undoubtedly behind the scenes in ways that we
- 53:12cannot see, I am asking that a great trust will
- 53:17be imparted, God, to every person standing right
- 53:20now in Jesus' name. A great trust in you in the
- 53:24name of the Lord. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
- 53:31God, we're not above the possibility that we
- 53:36could have contributed to this situation. And
- 53:42we ask your Holy Spirit, we invite your Holy
- 53:45Spirit to bring conviction and reveal things
- 53:49in our lives that we need to repent of. Reveal
- 53:56those things, Holy Spirit, that we might walk
- 54:00rightly. with you. Wash and cleanse in Jesus'
- 54:07name. And help us, God, to believe you through
- 54:13to the end. Whether it's a moment, whether it's
- 54:18a day or a decade, God, help us to continue to
- 54:24believe in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
- 54:35Oh, we give you praise, God. Oh, we give you
- 54:39praise, God. We magnify your name, Jesus. We
- 54:44magnify your name, Jesus. We bless your name.
- 54:50Hallelujah. I want to invite everybody to just
- 54:52stand right now and just go to one that's standing.
- 54:58And I just want you, as a brother or sister,
- 55:01you don't have to pray anything phenomenal. You
- 55:03just stand with them and pray as the Lord leads
- 55:06you. And stand with these that are contending
- 55:10for full restoration in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah.
- 55:17Don't let anybody stand alone right now. We are
- 55:21in this together in Jesus' name. We thank you,
- 55:25Father. We thank you, Father. We thank you, Father.
- 55:30We give you glory, God. We give you glory, God.
- 55:34We magnify your name. We magnify your name. Hallelujah,
- 55:40hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah.
