- 1:44Speaker 4: for me yesterday. Now don't get too comfortable there, TV girl,
- 1:47Speaker 4: I'm back. And to the person on social media who
- 1:50Speaker 4: said they thought she should have the show full time,
- 1:54Speaker 4: I don't disagree. I don't disagree with you, but I'm
- 1:56Speaker 4: under contract and I kind of like it here. They
- 1:58Speaker 4: gave me a desk and an office, so I kind
- 2:01Speaker 4: of like I'm kidding. Coming up a little bit later on,
- 2:03Speaker 4: I want to talk about an event happening tomorrow in
- 2:06Speaker 4: Saint Albans. It's Dementia Friendly Day. What is it. We'll
- 2:10Speaker 4: get into that a little bit later on. And it's
- 2:13Speaker 4: really kind of cool because instead of being just an event,
- 2:16Speaker 4: it's actually a bunch of businesses coming together in Saint
- 2:20Speaker 4: Albans bringing attention to dementia and related issues. We'll get
- 2:24Speaker 4: into that. Plus we are going to put be putting
- 2:27Speaker 4: the spotlight on one of our good advertisers here, PoCA
- 2:30Speaker 4: Valley Bank. They got some big news to share and
- 2:34Speaker 4: the big event happening in Charleston today Downtown Charleston, a
- 2:37Speaker 4: major shot in the art of downtown Charleston from PoCA
- 2:39Speaker 4: Valley Bank. Talk to Kevin Jennings about that coming up
- 2:42Speaker 4: a little bit later on. TJ. Meadows will stop by,
- 2:45Speaker 4: not at the Capital, he and Wilson are not today.
- 2:47Speaker 4: He will actually be here doing a talk line from here,
- 2:50Speaker 4: so we'll talk to him about some things in the legislature.
- 2:52Speaker 4: And a question was posted on social media and it
- 2:57Speaker 4: wasn't directly toward me, but it was on a friend's
- 3:00Speaker 4: Facebook page about why it is that some of the
- 3:04Speaker 4: more ridiculous aspects of the legislature that are thrown out there,
- 3:09Speaker 4: things that have absolutely no chance in the world of passing.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Why do they get so much coverage again speaking about
- 3:17Speaker 4: things that have no chance whatsoever of passage. Well, I'm
- 3:22Speaker 4: going to weigh in on that and I'm going to
- 3:23Speaker 4: bring TJ. Meadows into talk about that as well. Plus
- 3:26Speaker 4: I told just a loaded up show. You know, with
- 3:28Speaker 4: everything going on in southern West Virginia with the cleanup
- 3:32Speaker 4: after the floods in places like Mingo County, McDowell County,
- 3:35Speaker 4: everybody's trying to help them out. They took a major
- 3:37Speaker 4: setback in the cleanup when that area got We got
- 3:40Speaker 4: snow here in Charleston obviously the last couple of days,
- 3:42Speaker 4: but they got a lot more than we did. So
- 3:43Speaker 4: when you're trying to clean up a flood situation, areas
- 3:46Speaker 4: like Welch and a lot of the communities in Mingo
- 3:50Speaker 4: County as well, adding six to eight inches of snow
- 3:53Speaker 4: on top of it is really not conducive to flood cleanup.
- 3:56Speaker 4: But we, like a lot of other groups, we meaning
- 3:58Speaker 4: the Radio Ranch here folks, we are going to be
- 4:01Speaker 4: doing a big event next Wednesday to kind of help
- 4:03Speaker 4: them out. We're teaming up with the folks at Union
- 4:05Speaker 4: Mission and the Charleston dirty words, one of the sponsors
- 4:07Speaker 4: of this show to make that happen. I'll get into
- 4:10Speaker 4: all the details on that. Plus your phone calls and
- 4:13Speaker 4: text are welcome to Bigley Pickli Wiggly hotline three zero
- 4:15Speaker 4: four three four five fifty eight fifty eight and Tony
- 4:18Speaker 4: the Taylor text three zero four nine three five five
- 4:21Speaker 4: zero zero eight. Now, normally at this time this is
- 4:24Speaker 4: when we would talk to our good friend Hannah Gardner
- 4:26Speaker 4: from the Cannaal Charleston Humaine Association. Poor Hannah is feeling
- 4:29Speaker 4: under the weather, no matter of fact. She texted me
- 4:31Speaker 4: about five minutes before the show started this morning and
- 4:34Speaker 4: said she had this stomach. I'm going to get into
- 4:37Speaker 4: all the details, but she's got the stomach thing that's
- 4:40Speaker 4: going around a lot of people have it. So she
- 4:42Speaker 4: is not on the show today, so we do apologize
- 4:47Speaker 4: for that. However, as always, I have got our pet
- 4:50Speaker 4: of the week and you can go over to my
- 4:54Speaker 4: social media page, Dave Allen Radio and also you can
- 4:57Speaker 4: check me out on x It's at Dave A seven
- 5:00Speaker 4: to see the picture of Judge Judy. Judge Judy three
- 5:05Speaker 4: years old. She's a female that is the name Judge
- 5:09Speaker 4: Judy three year old female. She is already fixed, microchip, vaccinated,
- 5:16Speaker 4: ready to go. She is housebroken. They say that she
- 5:20Speaker 4: seems to be cat friendly and dog friendly. Seems to
- 5:25Speaker 4: also be kid friendly, very calm and very laid back,
- 5:30Speaker 4: and knows various commands. Sits lay stand, make me a
- 5:34Speaker 4: grilled cheese sandwich. And I don't know what all the
- 5:36Speaker 4: commands are, but apparently she's very good at that. I
- 5:40Speaker 4: mean this from and Hannah and I were texting back
- 5:42Speaker 4: and forth about the dog last night. This looks like
- 5:44Speaker 4: it would be and I know I say this every week,
- 5:46Speaker 4: but this truly would be the perfect dog for a family.
- 5:50Speaker 4: A little bit shy at first, Hannah tells me, but
- 5:53Speaker 4: just an absolutely beautiful, beautiful dog. See the picture over
- 5:56Speaker 4: on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook or at Dave A
- 5:59Speaker 4: seven on X Let's try to get a home for Judge.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Judy a beautiful, beautiful dog. Now, as far as things
- 6:07Speaker 4: going on at the animal shelter, one thing that I
- 6:11Speaker 4: thought was really interesting is I was looking at through
- 6:13Speaker 4: social media yesterday they were at one point yesterday or
- 6:17Speaker 4: maybe the day before that, they were looking to find
- 6:21Speaker 4: a driver because they needed someone to transport or pick
- 6:25Speaker 4: up I'm not sure which it was. I think it
- 6:26Speaker 4: was transport an animal from Charleston down to North Carolina.
- 6:30Speaker 4: And I'm always with the shelter. I'm always trying to
- 6:32Speaker 4: tell you folks, way that ways that you can get involved.
- 6:35Speaker 4: If you're an animal lover, and you know, you know
- 6:37Speaker 4: I am, most of us in the building here are
- 6:40Speaker 4: as well. You can't always adopt every animal. We know that,
- 6:45Speaker 4: you know there's limitations. I like, I like, you would
- 6:48Speaker 4: like to adopt them all, but sometimes you can't. But
- 6:51Speaker 4: there are other ways you can get involved. You can
- 6:53Speaker 4: agree to foster or in this particular case, sometimes they
- 6:56Speaker 4: have animals that are that they have up for a
- 6:59Speaker 4: dot option that are adopted in other states. It's happened plenty,
- 7:03Speaker 4: and they need a volunteer to pick up a dog, cat,
- 7:07Speaker 4: whatever here and drive it to other places, much like
- 7:10Speaker 4: this situation. I guess it was in North Carolina, So
- 7:13Speaker 4: that would be a way that you could help out
- 7:16Speaker 4: if you wanted to help out. The Canal christ Neumane
- 7:18Speaker 4: Association is by doing that is, by just helping to
- 7:23Speaker 4: go different places and to transport these animals now also
- 7:29Speaker 4: tuxes and tails. That's the biggest event they do several
- 7:32Speaker 4: events throughout the year. Tuxes and Tails is going to
- 7:34Speaker 4: be coming up real soon with the Canal Chris's Newmane Association,
- 7:38Speaker 4: and there's information about that available on their Facebook page.
- 7:41Speaker 4: And as we speak, Hannah is sending me some information
- 7:43Speaker 4: to throw out here to you. The numbers are still
- 7:48Speaker 4: extremely high. They're looking at it about three hundred is
- 7:51Speaker 4: what they have right now, and so they are really
- 7:55Speaker 4: really pushing for fosters and adopters right now. So if
- 7:59Speaker 4: you could foster, even if you can't a let's say,
- 8:01Speaker 4: I know you can't adopt them all, but if you
- 8:03Speaker 4: can help them out by being a foster, they certainly
- 8:05Speaker 4: would appreciate that. And also they are in need of
- 8:10Speaker 4: linens and cleaning supplies right now. Those cleaning supplies because
- 8:14Speaker 4: of the flood, the flood damage down in southern West
- 8:18Speaker 4: Virginia might be kind of hard to come by right now,
- 8:19Speaker 4: but those are the things that they are asking for
- 8:21Speaker 4: people to donate right now. They need linens of all
- 8:23Speaker 4: types and they also need cleaning supplies. So that again
- 8:27Speaker 4: is another great way for you to help out our
- 8:30Speaker 4: friends at the Canal Charleston you main association, but Dave
- 8:32Speaker 4: out on showing five a d livee presented in part
- 8:34Speaker 4: by your hometown baseball team, the Charleston dirty Birds, and

- 9:04Speaker 4: All right, let's review our pet of the week, and
- 9:07Speaker 4: again the pictures posted over on my social media. It's
- 9:09Speaker 4: Dave Allen Radio or at Dave a seventy on X,
- 9:12Speaker 4: the artist formerly known as Twitter. It's Judge Judy and
- 9:16Speaker 4: unfortunately I didn't get to ask Hannah how they came
- 9:18Speaker 4: up with that name, but it's Judge. Judy is the
- 9:21Speaker 4: dog we're looking to find a home for today. Three
- 9:23Speaker 4: years old female Spade, micro chipped and vaccinated, already housebroken.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Seems to be both cat and kid friendly, but it
- 9:30Speaker 4: is always especially with kids. They advise caution, but seems
- 9:33Speaker 4: to be very cat and kid friendly. Walks well on
- 9:38Speaker 4: the leash, little shy at first until until she gets
- 9:41Speaker 4: to know you. An absolutely beautiful dog, very calm, very
- 9:44Speaker 4: laid back, knows various commands as well. So go get
- 9:47Speaker 4: Judge Judy again. Judge Judy's picture available on my Facebook

- 15:15Speaker 10: I'm VP of Marketing and hr all.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Right, so what is the big news here?
- 15:20Speaker 10: Well, we've got an exciting day tomorrow. We are breaking
- 15:24Speaker 10: ground tomorrow. Tomorrow.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Oh tomorrow. I thought it was today, It's tomorrow, said tomorrow. Well,
- 15:30Speaker 4: that's what you get for not reading the press releases
- 15:32Speaker 4: that Sean Meyer sins, I actually thought it was today.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I apologize. I said it was today. It's tomorrow.
- 15:37Speaker 10: Yeah, it'll be tomorrow. But we're breaking ground on our
- 15:41Speaker 10: ninth branch Poka Valley Bank. You know, we started in
- 15:44Speaker 10: nineteen oh eight in Little Rome County and we had
- 15:48Speaker 10: a branch there at Walton and a branch in Spencer,
- 15:52Speaker 10: and then in nineteen eighty seven we started coming into
- 15:55Speaker 10: Canall County. We started at Clintonnon and then we opened
- 15:59Speaker 10: out View and in Cisonville and uh not too long
- 16:03Speaker 10: ago Kanall City, but This branch will be right across
- 16:07Speaker 10: from the Old Town centermall or at the Town Center
- 16:10Speaker 10: Mall at the Old Series Automotive lot. And we're excited
- 16:14Speaker 10: to bring new services to the Charleston market.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Now, you guys, as you said, you know, you're kind
- 16:19Speaker 4: of all over the place from your humble beginnings, if
- 16:21Speaker 4: you will, in Rome County. What made you choose that spot,
- 16:25Speaker 4: that particular spot.
- 16:26Speaker 10: Well, we've had a lot of interest from business customers
- 16:30Speaker 10: in Charleston for us to have a branch in Charleston.
- 16:34Speaker 10: That lot, you know, was on the market for a
- 16:36Speaker 10: little bit of time, and we looked at it and
- 16:39Speaker 10: decided that that would be a good convenient location. Plenty
- 16:42Speaker 10: of room there, we have a nice parking lot, and
- 16:46Speaker 10: it's just gonna be nice to be on the corner there.
- 16:49Speaker 4: It's gonna be hard to describe it on radio, but
- 16:51Speaker 4: what I mean, give us as best you can a
- 16:53Speaker 4: visual what's it gonna look like? And I know you'll
- 16:55Speaker 4: have all of the renderings and everything more than likely
- 16:57Speaker 4: there tomorrow. And it is tomorrow, not today, it's tomorrow.
- 17:01Speaker 4: But what's it gonna look like?
- 17:02Speaker 10: Uh, it's going to be a modern facility. Uh, it's
- 17:06Speaker 10: not gonna look like our standard branches uh more modern.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Uh.
- 17:12Speaker 10: It's gonna be two stories. I believe there's it's it's
- 17:18Speaker 10: I think with everything going on with TC Energy and
- 17:21Speaker 10: the convention Center and then our new brand's coming in,
- 17:24Speaker 10: I think that whole corner is just gonna look new
- 17:26Speaker 10: and and different. But we will be a modern style bank.
- 17:30Speaker 4: And I love the fact again that, uh, it is
- 17:33Speaker 4: an investment and you know in in that area, as
- 17:36Speaker 4: you mentioned TC Energy coming in and uh and the
- 17:40Speaker 4: things going on at the Coloseum and convention Center. I mean,
- 17:42Speaker 4: it's just it's amazing to me. And I've talked the listeners. Know,
- 17:46Speaker 4: I've talked about this about everything that's going on at
- 17:48Speaker 4: the Cottleseum and Convention Center many times. At the same time,
- 17:51Speaker 4: you know, a couple of weeks ago, we had we
- 17:54Speaker 4: had the Reds Caravan going on at the same time
- 17:56Speaker 4: as the Hunting and Fishing show and at the same
- 17:57Speaker 4: time as a major you know, a list tree music
- 18:00Speaker 4: performer was in town as well. So it's kind of
- 18:04Speaker 4: I mean, you guys, probably I know you've talked about
- 18:06Speaker 4: this facility, probably could have built it anywhere, but you
- 18:09Speaker 4: chose that particular location. Yes, yes, we did, and that's
- 18:13Speaker 4: pretty good. That's awesome. Actually, I appreciate you doing that.
- 18:16Speaker 4: I know the people Charles do as well. A quick
- 18:18Speaker 4: note here, older adults should protect themselves agains severe respiratory disease.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Talk to your doctor about flu COVID nineteen at RSV
- 18:24Speaker 4: Vaccines risk Less do More. It started at vaccines dot gov,
- 18:28Speaker 4: paid for by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Talk about the history of Poke Value. You're talking about
- 18:34Speaker 4: your humble beginnings there in Rome County. I'm going to
- 18:37Speaker 4: go ahead and go out and play captain obvious here.
- 18:40Speaker 4: The banking industry has changed a little bit since those
- 18:43Speaker 4: humble beginnings. But the banking industry, though Kevin, has changed
- 18:45Speaker 4: a lot in the last ten to fifteen years as well.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Let's talk about those beginnings and how we got to
- 18:50Speaker 4: where we are now.
- 18:51Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 10: Well, in the early nineteen hundreds, there was an oil
- 18:54Speaker 10: and gas boom in Run County and you.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Were not there.
- 18:57Speaker 10: I wasn't there.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I want to point that out.
- 18:59Speaker 10: Yeah, I I cannot take credit for anything back then,
- 19:03Speaker 10: but you know, so we open the first branch was
- 19:07Speaker 10: open there to try to take care of those customers.
- 19:10Speaker 10: We are community banks, So we're very big and supporting
- 19:13Speaker 10: every community that we're in. So, you know, we've looked
- 19:17Speaker 10: at just different ways to expand and to grow, to
- 19:22Speaker 10: try to keep up any industry, and we think we've
- 19:25Speaker 10: done a good job taking care of people. You know,
- 19:29Speaker 10: most of our customers we know by name. I don't
- 19:33Speaker 10: know every customer's name, but the folks in our branches
- 19:36Speaker 10: when you come in, they get to know your name,
- 19:39Speaker 10: so you know, we try to put personal service along
- 19:43Speaker 10: with having all the financial products that everyone needs. One
- 19:47Speaker 10: thing that's also exciting about tomorrow, we're actually going to
- 19:51Speaker 10: start going by a new brand, if you would. We're
- 19:54Speaker 10: dropping Bank from our name and just going by PoCA Valley.
- 20:00Speaker 10: And the reason for that is we're beyond banking. We
- 20:02Speaker 10: have more than just a bank. We also offer financial
- 20:05Speaker 10: and wealth management. We also have a bookkeeping an accounting
- 20:09Speaker 10: firm called Hazing Company. They're a subsidiary of PoCA Valley
- 20:13Speaker 10: Bank Shares. Uh. So we're trying to get the message
- 20:17Speaker 10: out that not only do we do banking, but we
- 20:20Speaker 10: also have other services as well.
- 20:23Speaker 4: That's kind of interesting and there's a lot of businesses
- 20:26Speaker 4: that are choosing choosing to take that route. I mean,
- 20:29Speaker 4: look at our company. You know, for years we were
- 20:30Speaker 4: West Virginia Radio Corporation, and then somebody a couple of
- 20:33Speaker 4: years ago said, well, radio is not all we do.
- 20:36Speaker 4: You know, we do digital, we do video whatever. So
- 20:39Speaker 4: thus we kept the wv r C West Virginia Radio Corporation,
- 20:42Speaker 4: but it's WVRC Media. Yes. And because more and more
- 20:46Speaker 4: businesses are doing more and more stuff these days. Now,
- 20:49Speaker 4: you know, people probably for a while are still going
- 20:51Speaker 4: to call a PoCA Valley bank, right, oh yeah, and
- 20:53Speaker 4: that's fine. You know I go turn them away with
- 20:55Speaker 4: no no, We'll you know, we'll.
- 20:56Speaker 10: Still be a bank. Uh, but we just offer the
- 20:59Speaker 10: others services. And we we don't feel like we've done
- 21:02Speaker 10: a good job making the public aware of everything that
- 21:06Speaker 10: we do offer.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Okay, it's more than just a bank. I've got a
- 21:09Speaker 4: I've got a very very quick solution for that. Okay,
- 21:12Speaker 4: advertising it's been more money now, I'm kidding. You guys
- 21:15Speaker 4: are a great sponsor of ours and uh, and we
- 21:18Speaker 4: appreciate everything that that you do for us. And I
- 21:20Speaker 4: like the fact that you mentioned the word the keyword
- 21:22Speaker 4: being community bank, because so off you know, in the
- 21:25Speaker 4: world of banking I'm not a banking expert by any
- 21:27Speaker 4: stretch of the imagination, but they just keep getting bigger
- 21:31Speaker 4: and bigger and bigger, and you guys are offering more
- 21:34Speaker 4: and more services. But you're kind of keeping that, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 4: that West Virginia feel to you, to to what you do. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 4: that's very important to us.
- 21:44Speaker 10: And you know, uh, most of you that go to
- 21:47Speaker 10: community events, you'll probably see a PoCA Valley Bank employee there.
- 21:51Speaker 10: We get out into ball games. I mean, we just
- 21:54Speaker 10: go different places. Uh, you know, we're just part of
- 21:57Speaker 10: the community. So, you know, we feel it's very important
- 22:03Speaker 10: for us to stay active in the community.
- 22:06Speaker 4: How many approximately, you don't have to give you the
- 22:08Speaker 4: exact number, but how many people in the area do
- 22:11Speaker 4: you employ?
- 22:12Speaker 10: We have total and our footprint is Rown County, Kanaal County,
- 22:16Speaker 10: Putnam County, but we employ one hundred and twenty eight.
- 22:20Speaker 4: And twenty eight people. Yes, I love that stuff. I mean,
- 22:22Speaker 4: I love that you're a great employer here as well.
- 22:24Speaker 4: All right, let's kind of recap because I know you've
- 22:25Speaker 4: got a busy day getting ready and again I errred
- 22:28Speaker 4: in saying that things were today, they're actually tomorrow. So
- 22:31Speaker 4: give us the timeline for everything Tomorrow again.
- 22:33Speaker 10: At three o'clock we're going to meet over at the
- 22:37Speaker 10: lot and again that's two hundred Chourrier Street, and we'll
- 22:41Speaker 10: break ground there and we'll reveal the rendering of the
- 22:45Speaker 10: building along with our new brand of Poker Valley, the logo,
- 22:51Speaker 10: everything will be displayed tomorrow and then after the groundbreaking
- 22:56Speaker 10: ceremony there, which we don't anticipate to take very long,
- 23:01Speaker 10: then we'll move over to one thirty five Summer Street.
- 23:04Speaker 10: We also have an office there, and we'll have a
- 23:07Speaker 10: little reception, just meet and greet and talk to folks,
- 23:11Speaker 10: and then probably about five.
- 23:12Speaker 4: O'clock send you it up, sends you on your way, Yeah,
- 23:15Speaker 4: and then we'll look forward to this getting underway if
- 23:18Speaker 4: the snow ever melts and the winter ever goes away.
- 23:21Speaker 4: And again your timeline again for people to maybe just
- 23:23Speaker 4: be joining us. When when do we hope of hope
- 23:25Speaker 4: fingers crossed this thing maybe open.
- 23:26Speaker 10: Well, it'll be twenty twenty six, okay, hope spring, but
- 23:30Speaker 10: that is a hope.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Well, and sometimes you're dealing with things that are out
- 23:32Speaker 4: of your control, you know, supply issues in the weather
- 23:34Speaker 4: and so on and so forth. Kevin I appreciate you
- 23:36Speaker 4: being here, and I, like others, will try to get
- 23:39Speaker 4: used to the new name, which you'll officially kick it tomorrow.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Poka Valley. Yeah, you're not going away from banking. You're
- 23:45Speaker 4: just doing a lot of other stuff too, as you
- 23:47Speaker 4: have been for sometimes. So it's Polka Valley. I appreciate
- 23:50Speaker 4: you being here, Thanks a lot, and we'll see you
- 23:53Speaker 4: tomorrow and we'll have you on several times between now
- 23:55Speaker 4: and then. And it's a great addition to the area
- 23:58Speaker 4: of the downtown Charleston area. I appreciate you you guys

- 27:36Speaker 4: address this thing too. As someone on social media pointed out,
- 27:39Speaker 4: is why is it that the the and to somebody
- 27:43Speaker 4: it's important, I guess, But why is it that the
- 27:45Speaker 4: more the more silly or controversial things you kind of
- 27:49Speaker 4: put those things together get talked about more than anything else,
- 27:53Speaker 4: and the actual work, the actual work doesn't get discussed
- 27:58Speaker 4: as much that the stuff that they're doing. I want
- 28:01Speaker 4: to talk about that with DJ plus a big day
- 28:03Speaker 4: over there as well coming up tomorrow in St Albans.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Several businesses are getting involved with this and it's this
- 28:10Speaker 4: is actually in more than a one day movement. As
- 28:12Speaker 4: best I understand, it's been going on in St Albans
- 28:15Speaker 4: sometimes kind of a dementia friendly thing. Chris Brayley is
- 28:18Speaker 4: with This is Morning, Kristal. What what group do you represent?
- 28:21Speaker 3: Dementia Friendly Saint Albans.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Okay, all right, and I appreciate you being here. Tell
- 28:26Speaker 4: us about the group.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so, Minsia Friendly Saint Albans. We're part of Friends
- 28:31Speaker 3: of Hansford nonprofit, just a group of volunteers to committee
- 28:36Speaker 3: and it's all about making and helping our city and
- 28:39Speaker 3: Saint Albans be dementia friendly, and what that means is
- 28:44Speaker 3: we go out, we will train willing businesses on dementia,
- 28:49Speaker 3: the ten warning signs, things that you know, the resources
- 28:55Speaker 3: that are in the community to help people with dementia,
- 28:58Speaker 3: know how to communicate with someone with dementia.
- 29:01Speaker 4: So we'll do that.
- 29:02Speaker 3: We will do seminars, We'll have panels of experts come
- 29:06Speaker 3: out to Hansford Senior Center for the community and discuss
- 29:10Speaker 3: dementia topics. We have a support group for caregivers right
- 29:15Speaker 3: there at Hansford Senior Center that our group runs. Also,
- 29:20Speaker 3: I would like to mention that Hansford Senior Center has
- 29:23Speaker 3: started back up their adult day program there. So our
- 29:26Speaker 3: whole group is all about just making the city dementia
- 29:31Speaker 3: friendly easy for caregivers that are taking care of their
- 29:34Speaker 3: loved ones that have dementia, to be involved in the community,
- 29:37Speaker 3: to come out, to go to restaurants, to just be
- 29:41Speaker 3: able to be there and communicate and be a part
- 29:43Speaker 3: of our community.
- 29:45Speaker 2: You know.
- 29:45Speaker 4: One of the I guess more interesting things to me
- 29:49Speaker 4: about dementia has always been that there are so many
- 29:51Speaker 4: different levels of it yea, and not everyone on the
- 29:57Speaker 4: surface from it in the same way. Just like any
- 30:01Speaker 4: other disability or illness or whatever it is that you
- 30:04Speaker 4: want to want to call it, because we've all and
- 30:07Speaker 4: we've all had people in our families or maybe friends
- 30:09Speaker 4: and neighbors or loved ones or whatever people go to
- 30:11Speaker 4: church with or whatever that you know, sometimes they're fine,
- 30:15Speaker 4: and sometimes they're not necessarily fine, and sometimes they have episodes.
- 30:18Speaker 4: And sometimes the episodes happen from the best I understand
- 30:22Speaker 4: when they're not in the confines of their own home maybe,
- 30:27Speaker 4: and like you said in Saint All, buts there any
- 30:29Speaker 4: any town for that matter, when they're out in a
- 30:32Speaker 4: restaurant or they're out in a store, that happens more
- 30:34Speaker 4: often than you would think it does.
- 30:36Speaker 3: And it's really about you know, if I mean imagine,
- 30:40Speaker 3: you know, if a waiter in a restaurant or a waitress,
- 30:43Speaker 3: if they can recognize that the person they're waiting on,
- 30:46Speaker 3: you know, may have dementia, that they're not weird or not,
- 30:49Speaker 3: you know, it's not they're not on drugs, that this
- 30:52Speaker 3: is a disease, and know how to communicate with them,
- 30:56Speaker 3: know how to help them feel at ease, and and
- 31:01Speaker 3: and be able to welcome them the back. That takes
- 31:05Speaker 3: a lot of pressure off the individual with dementia, the caregiver.
- 31:09Speaker 3: What we find is that the caregivers a lot of
- 31:13Speaker 3: times are apprehensive to come out of the home, right
- 31:17Speaker 3: to come into the community and and and be a
- 31:20Speaker 3: part of the community. So we we really try to
- 31:23Speaker 3: take that stigma away. That's really the main goal is
- 31:27Speaker 3: to take that stigma away and welcome those and to
- 31:31Speaker 3: help keep them in the community and out of long
- 31:34Speaker 3: term care.
- 31:34Speaker 4: And I love the fact that you pointed that out
- 31:36Speaker 4: about you know, if somebody is diagnosed with dementia or
- 31:40Speaker 4: some related situation or condition like that, is it's not
- 31:44Speaker 4: fair to them to have to be or or their
- 31:47Speaker 4: caregivers that might have to be locked up all the time,
- 31:49Speaker 4: whether it's in their home or in a facility or whatever.
- 31:51Speaker 4: They still have They still deserve the right to go
- 31:54Speaker 4: to a store, They deserve the right to go out
- 31:57Speaker 4: to dinner and think things like that.
- 31:58Speaker 3: And it's important and it's healthy.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Yeah, any physician will tell you that. You know that
- 32:03Speaker 4: setting at home, locked away or sitting in front of
- 32:05Speaker 4: a television or whatever is not I mean, they need
- 32:08Speaker 4: to try to to I would think, engage in activities
- 32:12Speaker 4: just like they did before as best as best they can.
- 32:14Speaker 4: What's the reception been like from these businesses in Saint
- 32:17Speaker 4: Albans Because I've talked about this with people on the
- 32:19Speaker 4: show in the past, have had Mayor James on and
- 32:21Speaker 4: different people from Saint Albans in the past that have
- 32:23Speaker 4: talked about that Saint Albans is one of those cities
- 32:26Speaker 4: that has really been at the forefront of this. I
- 32:28Speaker 4: know I've had Delegate and City Council of Walt Hall
- 32:32Speaker 4: on the show has talked about this numerous times as well.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Saint Albans is a city in our in the Kanaw
- 32:37Speaker 4: Valley here that is really gone in my opinion, above
- 32:40Speaker 4: and beyond have been on the forefront of this movement.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Oh absolutely, you mentioned you know, Mayor James and of
- 32:48Speaker 3: course Delegate Walt Hall. They're a huge part of what
- 32:51Speaker 3: we're doing as Saint Albans and Walt's a part of
- 32:54Speaker 3: our committee. He has been from the very beginning huge
- 32:57Speaker 3: advocate for us. And so yeah, it's just it's it's
- 33:02Speaker 3: so important you have to have and as I talk
- 33:05Speaker 3: to other people that are looking at maybe starting, you know,
- 33:09Speaker 3: their community to be dimension friendly, you really have to
- 33:11Speaker 3: have the support of your your local government. You know,
- 33:14Speaker 3: your city council members, your mayor, local businesses you have.
- 33:18Speaker 3: They have to want to be a part of that.
- 33:20Speaker 3: And as you form a committee, you need to have
- 33:23Speaker 3: kind of a cross section of everybody to be a
- 33:26Speaker 3: part of that. And of course you have to have
- 33:28Speaker 3: a passion for it. And Saint Albans does I really
- 33:31Speaker 3: complement the city council and the business leaders, you know,
- 33:36Speaker 3: the local small businesses, and that's the heartbeat of a community.
- 33:40Speaker 3: And they all are stepping up and being a part
- 33:42Speaker 3: of this.
- 33:43Speaker 4: And I'm looking and I've got some information posted about it.
- 33:46Speaker 4: I actually have the poster posted on my social media
- 33:49Speaker 4: and I'm looking at some of these businesses, places like
- 33:51Speaker 4: in Stitches, uh and I want to leave anybody out.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Village Sampler, Vintage Vibes, bammis one of my favorite places, Shuckers.
- 33:58Speaker 4: And if there's a place I like as well as Shuckers,
- 34:00Speaker 4: it might be the cafe.
- 34:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:02Speaker 4: So now now I'm gonna get hungry, you know about this,
- 34:05Speaker 4: But the tap the Kenali Terrace, I ga Mendez pro
- 34:09Speaker 4: auto detail of my buddy Joey there from my hometown.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Big shout out to Joey Mendez. They're a big buddy
- 34:16Speaker 4: of mine. So these businesses have stepped up to the
- 34:20Speaker 4: plate and they said, hey, we want to be part
- 34:22Speaker 4: of the of the solution here and we want to
- 34:24Speaker 4: be able to learn as much as we as much
- 34:26Speaker 4: as we can.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, And you know, and that's in Dementia
- 34:31Speaker 3: Friendly Day, you know that started. Mayor Scott James did
- 34:35Speaker 3: the proclamation in twenty twenty two that every February twenty
- 34:39Speaker 3: second in Saint Aubums is Dementia Friendly Day and it's
- 34:41Speaker 3: about bringing awareness to dementia, Alzheimer's disease, other forms of dementia.
- 34:46Speaker 3: And and our committee went out to these local businesses
- 34:51Speaker 3: and started this this kind of movement with on Dementia
- 34:56Speaker 3: Friendly Day where they'll if you go out tomorrow, you know,
- 35:00Speaker 3: and partake in these businesses you know that you mentioned
- 35:03Speaker 3: in others, then they will donate twenty two percent of
- 35:06Speaker 3: their profits to Dimension Friendly Saint Albans and we can
- 35:09Speaker 3: continue the initiative that we've started many years ago.
- 35:13Speaker 4: And here's the thing tomorrow. I mean, this has been
- 35:15Speaker 4: a horrible, horrible winner. The last couple of days have
- 35:18Speaker 4: been bad. Snow's starting to melt, they say, temperature is
- 35:21Speaker 4: going to be weren't, believe it or not, in the
- 35:23Speaker 4: thirties today and then the forties tomorrow. The snow is
- 35:25Speaker 4: going to start to melt away these businesses. I'm gonna
- 35:28Speaker 4: get a little plug in, you know, for the mister
- 35:30Speaker 4: Chamber of Commerce here, I'm going to get a little
- 35:32Speaker 4: plug in for these businesses. These businesses, not only in
- 35:35Speaker 4: Saint Albans, but in other areas have had one heck
- 35:37Speaker 4: of a bad winner too, and they've had to close,
- 35:39Speaker 4: and they've had employees that were not able to come
- 35:42Speaker 4: in and things of that nature, and their customers aren't
- 35:45Speaker 4: able to get there. It's more important now than ever
- 35:48Speaker 4: that we support these local businesses with this winter that
- 35:51Speaker 4: we've had. And I'm sure if you talk to any
- 35:53Speaker 4: of them, they're going to say, our profits are down,
- 35:55Speaker 4: our sales margins now, we need help. This would be
- 35:58Speaker 4: a great way tomorrow, with this event going on in St. Albans,
- 36:01Speaker 4: for you to go to some of these restaurants, to
- 36:04Speaker 4: go to some of these other establishments and and and
- 36:07Speaker 4: help them out, you know, put a little money in
- 36:10Speaker 4: their taill and they're going to in turn, as you said,
- 36:12Speaker 4: take twenty two percent and give it back to dimension
- 36:15Speaker 4: friendly Saint Albans, right.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And you know, as I mentioned, it's
- 36:20Speaker 3: a it's a great little cross section of different types
- 36:23Speaker 3: of business. You mentioned restaurants, you know, the cafes, another tap,
- 36:28Speaker 3: you know. But we've got new businesses that are coming
- 36:30Speaker 3: on board. Vintage vibes, you know on Main Street, headliners, barbershop,
- 36:38Speaker 3: the kind of the IgA.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Is a part of this.
- 36:41Speaker 3: They were a new member coming on Colonial Interiors, you know,
- 36:45Speaker 3: so village sampler Flowers.
- 36:47Speaker 4: I'm old Maine.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I mean you can go have a meal, you can
- 36:50Speaker 3: go down Main Street and partake and make it a day.
- 36:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 36:54Speaker 3: I know myself and my family are going to be
- 36:56Speaker 3: out there tomorrow and partaking in that and just make
- 36:59Speaker 3: it a funest of day and get out of the house.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Find yeah. Right, and it's gonna be there's actually that
- 37:04Speaker 4: giant yellow ball up in this guy, don't be alarmed.
- 37:08Speaker 4: It's the sun. It's gonna be out to You couldn't
- 37:10Speaker 4: ask for a better day for it tomorrow. So hey, Chris,
- 37:13Speaker 4: it's been a great having you on the program. We
- 37:15Speaker 4: can you have like a website or Facebook page or
- 37:17Speaker 4: something where people could maybe learn more about your organization
- 37:19Speaker 4: as a whole.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Dimentia Friendly Saint Albums Facebook page. If you go there,
- 37:24Speaker 3: there's all sorts of information and we're always looking for
- 37:27Speaker 3: new members for Dimension Faly Saint Aubams to be a
- 37:29Speaker 3: part of our committee. We meet the second Monday every
- 37:33Speaker 3: month at Hansford Senior Center.
- 37:34Speaker 4: And I think it would also be maybe relevant for
- 37:38Speaker 4: some of our other communities maybe to come to Saint
- 37:40Speaker 4: Albans or come to one of your meetings. So if
- 37:42Speaker 4: you one of the I know we have a lot
- 37:44Speaker 4: of governmental types and mayors and council people from other
- 37:47Speaker 4: other communities in Kenawha County, Putnam County and the surrounding
- 37:50Speaker 4: areas that listen to this show, get in touch with
- 37:53Speaker 4: Chris and these folks come down to Saint Albans tomorrow
- 37:55Speaker 4: and see how it is that they do it, and
- 37:57Speaker 4: maybe you can you can get in part of this
- 37:59Speaker 4: for your community as well. Chris Brayley, I appreciate you
- 38:02Speaker 4: being here, man, Good luck, God bless you everything you're doing.

- 41:36Speaker 4: seven am to six pm to collect items for flood
- 41:39Speaker 4: victims in southern West Virginia. Now we've got information posted
- 41:42Speaker 4: about it on all of our social media sites of
- 41:44Speaker 4: all the stations here. We're teaming up with the Union
- 41:46Speaker 4: Mission and the Charleston Dirty Birds to make this happen.
- 41:49Speaker 4: We are putting together what we are calling floodbuckets with
- 41:53Speaker 4: all sorts of supplies in them and also hygiene kits
- 41:57Speaker 4: as well. Now, again, if you go to any of
- 41:59Speaker 4: our stations social media, you'll see exactly what it is
- 42:02Speaker 4: that we are looking for. We will accept cash donations
- 42:05Speaker 4: as well, and we're working with Union Mission to get

- 42:13Speaker 4: now and next Wednesday. And you know the way these
- 42:15Speaker 4: drive by things work now, I mean we pretty much
- 42:18Speaker 4: want by them. The snow will be off the parking

- 42:38Speaker 4: the Charleston Dirty Birds will be here so you can
- 42:40Speaker 4: help us out and help us help them with this event.
- 42:43Speaker 4: And is happening Wednesday, And I've already looked ahead. Weather
- 42:47Speaker 4: looks great. We're going to be up in probably mid
- 42:49Speaker 4: to upper fifties by that time, so weather won't be
- 42:52Speaker 4: an issue. It's next Wednesday, seven am till six pm

- 43:57Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 43:57Speaker 4: I talked to some folks down there. Actually saw it
- 43:59Speaker 4: on social media, I should say, so you know, I
- 44:03Speaker 4: can't speak for the Logan County PSD. I'm kind of
- 44:06Speaker 4: far removed from that area, but do hope that they
- 44:09Speaker 4: get things taken care of really soon there, Texas Dave.
- 44:12Speaker 4: WVRC media has many hosts, including yourself, who claimed the

- 44:24Speaker 4: cash Battel is ahead of the FBI and started or
- 44:27Speaker 4: stated rather that he's going after media who said the
- 44:30Speaker 4: twenty twenty to twenty election wasn't stolen. If put too
- 44:32Speaker 4: many twenties in there, I think twenty twenty election wasn't stolen.
- 44:35Speaker 4: How does it feel to have the FBI possibly come

- 44:43Speaker 4: I'm not going to give it on the air, but
- 44:44Speaker 4: it's easy to find. Come get me. Dek says, a
- 44:48Speaker 4: lot of people in twenty sixteen thought Trump getting elected
- 44:51Speaker 4: was silly and not serious. Now Here we are with
- 44:55Speaker 4: a fractured trust in healthcare, inflation, a violent attack on
- 44:58Speaker 4: the Capitol, Russian appeasement allies, and an unelected billionaire taking
- 45:02Speaker 4: a chainsaw to the government. Even the silly and non

- 45:20Speaker 4: Meadows. How you doing, man?
- 45:21Speaker 14: I'm good. I'm concerned about you. I came in. I
- 45:25Speaker 14: wanted to check on your state of mind. I know
- 45:29Speaker 14: you and Wilson were going at each other's pretty hard
- 45:32Speaker 14: earlier this week.
- 45:33Speaker 4: No, we weren't. It's just day. I mean we started
- 45:35Speaker 4: last Friday and I think it continued this week. Dave
- 45:37Speaker 4: and I have a I love hate relationship. He loves me,
- 45:41Speaker 4: I hate him. Uh No, I'm kidding. Wilson and I
- 45:44Speaker 4: are good friends. As I said, all the Marshall people
- 45:45Speaker 4: have to stick together anyway in this company.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Uh.
- 45:48Speaker 4: But now Wilson and I we we bring out the
- 45:51Speaker 4: fisticuffs in each other. But uh but it's all in
- 45:53Speaker 4: good fun. The good thing.
- 45:54Speaker 14: I'm there to moderate. Yeah, keep you know everything on
- 45:56Speaker 14: the up and up.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, we're uh, we're good well and are good.
- 46:00Speaker 4: We had to poke the barrel, that's all right, it's
- 46:02Speaker 4: all right.
- 46:04Speaker 14: So I'm gonna u.
- 46:05Speaker 4: First of all, give me a preview of what you're
- 46:07Speaker 4: you're here today, You're not at the Capitol, but I
- 46:08Speaker 4: know you and mister Wilson will be watching closely what's
- 46:11Speaker 4: going on at the capitol. Brad mclahanny is there too,
- 46:13Speaker 4: of course.
- 46:14Speaker 14: So what what's big on the agenda today at the Capitol?
- 46:18Speaker 14: So Cenate Bill for sixty is going to be on
- 46:20Speaker 14: third reading in the Senate. That is the bill that
- 46:23Speaker 14: allows for religious and philosophical vaccine exemptions. They held that
- 46:28Speaker 14: bill over a couple of days. It would have went
- 46:30Speaker 14: the third reading earlier this week. Tom Takouba, local physician
- 46:34Speaker 14: and senator here in the Kanal Valley, wants to speak
- 46:37Speaker 14: against the bill. He thinks vaccine exemptions are a bad idea.
- 46:42Speaker 14: He'll talk about that. He's been fairly bold and committee
- 46:45Speaker 14: in terms of amendments, so he'll speak on the floor today.
- 46:47Speaker 14: But the reality is they've that bill is going to pass.
- 46:49Speaker 14: It's going to sail through. I think it's going to
- 46:51Speaker 14: pass the House. It's going to pass, you know, the
- 46:52Speaker 14: governor is going to sign it and it will become law.
- 46:55Speaker 14: I think it'll end up in court.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Now we're Yeah, it's definitely going to end up in court,
- 46:58Speaker 4: which is probably going to be tossed. What do you
- 46:59Speaker 4: think it'll be tosting court?
- 47:01Speaker 14: I think it is extremely I'm not a lawyer. I
- 47:03Speaker 14: think it has numerous constitutional problems.
- 47:05Speaker 4: I would agree with that as well. So legislature, do
- 47:07Speaker 4: what you gotta do. It's going to be tossing court
- 47:09Speaker 4: more than likely, more than likely. But maybe you know,
- 47:11Speaker 4: as TJ said, we're certainly not attorneys. We don't even
- 47:14Speaker 4: play them on the TV or radio, so we don't
- 47:15Speaker 4: know whether it'll pass or not. You've been kind of
- 47:18Speaker 4: vocal about this. I have all right, be vocal a
- 47:21Speaker 4: little bit more. Go ahead.
- 47:22Speaker 14: Anytime the government tells a private or parochial school what
- 47:27Speaker 14: to do, it's overreach. In my opinion, this has been
- 47:32Speaker 14: compared to well, they let us tell them to have
- 47:34Speaker 14: sprinkler systems, or we tell them they have to have
- 47:38Speaker 14: lunch ladies who have health cards. That is completely apples
- 47:42Speaker 14: and oranges to me. What's next? Are we going to
- 47:45Speaker 14: tell a parochial school that they can't teach creation?
- 47:50Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean what's next? I mean parochial schools or
- 47:53Speaker 4: private schools are businesses. Their businesses their businesses in the market.
- 47:57Speaker 4: You pay for your kids to go there, so so
- 47:59Speaker 4: it's a business.
- 47:59Speaker 14: And look, if enough parents do not like the fact
- 48:03Speaker 14: that a parochial school will not allow exemptions, you know
- 48:06Speaker 14: what will happen. They won't send their children there, They'll
- 48:09Speaker 14: lose tuition dollars. That school will succeed or fail on
- 48:13Speaker 14: its policies with the face of the market. That's the
- 48:16Speaker 14: way this should be decided. So I have huge problems
- 48:20Speaker 14: with telling a private or parochial school what to do.
- 48:22Speaker 14: I also think it's a bad idea for the public schools.
- 48:24Speaker 14: You can I have two commentaries at wv metronews dot com.
- 48:27Speaker 14: Folks can read them decide for themselves. I don't get
- 48:30Speaker 14: a vote, but I do think it is extremely in
- 48:34Speaker 14: poor judgment to tell a private or parochial school what they.
- 48:36Speaker 4: Will or won't do. Tex says the quality of this
- 48:38Speaker 4: legislative session as a result of being forty ninth to
- 48:41Speaker 4: fiftieth in education for many decades. I guess you can't
- 48:44Speaker 4: expect much from people who hate New York but think
- 48:46Speaker 4: a New Yorker is their savior, says a Texter. All right,
- 48:50Speaker 4: so I brought this up a little bit earlier TJ.
- 48:52Speaker 4: And it was something I saw on social media from
- 48:54Speaker 4: a very good friend of mine who posted it all.
- 48:57Speaker 4: And I know he's probably listening to the show, because
- 48:58Speaker 4: he listens every day to Strength, the one friend I have.
- 49:03Speaker 4: And you know, he was talking about the and I'm
- 49:05Speaker 4: very much paraphrasing here about some of these more silly
- 49:09Speaker 4: things like we could go the spruce knob thing that
- 49:12Speaker 4: wasn't going to go anywhere, and so on and so
- 49:13Speaker 4: forth getting attention and a lot of folks And he
- 49:18Speaker 4: wasn't pointing out the media, but he's said a lot
- 49:19Speaker 4: of people not focusing on the work that the legislature
- 49:23Speaker 4: does meant a lot of it, you know, bipartisan Kaylee
- 49:26Speaker 4: Jung and I talk about that a lot on the show.
- 49:27Speaker 4: That never gets the attention. I get that. But at
- 49:30Speaker 4: the same time, when you pick up your timeline on
- 49:33Speaker 4: your social media and your ex or your Facebook or whatever,
- 49:36Speaker 4: and every other person is talking about this, I went
- 49:41Speaker 4: along last week and I'm kind of, you know, contradicting myself.
- 49:43Speaker 4: I kind of went along the last week and said, look,
- 49:45Speaker 4: we just do need to ignore this stupid crap that
- 49:47Speaker 4: a lot of these legislators are putting out there like
- 49:49Speaker 4: they did last week. However, to play the other side
- 49:53Speaker 4: of the card when it's what on your timeline every
- 49:56Speaker 4: other person. The two big stories on social media so
- 50:00Speaker 4: far in the new year have been the spruce Knob
- 50:02Speaker 4: thing last week and the halftime show on a Super Bowl.
- 50:07Speaker 4: So where are you? I'm talking about things like this.
- 50:10Speaker 14: So our job is to do two things. Inform and
- 50:13Speaker 14: entertain something like the spruce Knob built, that's entertainment. Frankly
- 50:17Speaker 14: to me, it's okay to talk about that. Our other
- 50:20Speaker 14: job is to inform. To your point, ninety five percent
- 50:22Speaker 14: of what goes through the legislature will pass fine. It's
- 50:25Speaker 14: appropriations for roads, et cetera, et cetera. But that other
- 50:29Speaker 14: five to ten percent that is divisive. We want to
- 50:32Speaker 14: inform the public so that they can be aware of
- 50:35Speaker 14: what their government representatives are talking about. They can pick
- 50:38Speaker 14: up the phone, draft an email, go up to the
- 50:42Speaker 14: legislature and actually lobby because these are issues that will
- 50:46Speaker 14: affect you your family. Back to the school thing that
- 50:50Speaker 14: came out of nowhere. It happened really quick. On the
- 50:52Speaker 14: private parochial things. A lot of parents in schools have
- 50:55Speaker 14: come up to me and said, Hey, I didn't know
- 50:57Speaker 14: they were talking about that for my kids private Christian school.
- 51:00Speaker 14: I'm glad you brought it up. That's our job to
- 51:02Speaker 14: inform and entertain, and we do the best we can do.
- 51:04Speaker 14: We always get it right. No, but it's a mixture
- 51:06Speaker 14: of two. And to your point, look, this is radio,
- 51:08Speaker 14: the entertainment side. We want to talk about what is
- 51:11Speaker 14: buzzing out there. And people, for whatever reason, picked up
- 51:14Speaker 14: on this and it was a stunt. It's a bunch
- 51:16Speaker 14: of back seaters for the most part, few key people
- 51:19Speaker 14: put their name on it.
- 51:20Speaker 4: Well what about Okay, we had the one and we're
- 51:22Speaker 4: running short on time here. One that's kind of came
- 51:25Speaker 4: back up again, and that is the abortion thing, and
- 51:27Speaker 4: that is the exemptions. You know, the one Deley get
- 51:31Speaker 4: pulled it and had threats against his family, he says,
- 51:34Speaker 4: And I don't have any reason to doubt him, and
- 51:35Speaker 4: that's totally wrong in my opinion, no matter what your
- 51:37Speaker 4: what your thought is. But now another group of legislators
- 51:41Speaker 4: put their name on there saying that they may bring
- 51:42Speaker 4: this up again. Is that right in the house? Okay,
- 51:45Speaker 4: So where is that going? This is the exemption. This
- 51:47Speaker 4: is basically doing away with the exceptions of rape and
- 51:51Speaker 4: incests in the In the abortion situation, I forget what
- 51:54Speaker 4: committee it was assigned to.
- 51:55Speaker 14: I'll have to go back and look. But again, huge issue,
- 51:58Speaker 14: very important. If you're the person that fail this issue,
- 52:00Speaker 14: or if you're a woman that faces this issue, people
- 52:03Speaker 14: want to know about it. So even if it's going nowhere,
- 52:05Speaker 14: the fact that it's being brought up, could it be
- 52:08Speaker 14: brought up again and again, we want to inform and
- 52:11Speaker 14: we want to educate. We're not trying to steer the debate.
- 52:14Speaker 14: People can decide from there, all right.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Texas TJ. Thank you for being the voice of reason.
- 52:19Speaker 4: I love how you can text from the other side. Man,
- 52:21Speaker 4: that's really really cool. Thanks honey, I appreciate it. That's
- 52:23Speaker 4: my wife. I appreciate that. All right, we gotta go.
