- 1:32Speaker 2: And make prayer a priority in your life. Our goal
- 1:36Speaker 2: for today's meditative prayer is healing relationships. Take a moment
- 1:42Speaker 2: right now just to unwind. Look for maybe an enjoyable place,
- 1:49Speaker 2: a position that will allow you to relax. Now, focus
- 1:58Speaker 2: on your time with God. Allow your mind to drift
- 2:05Speaker 2: towards the throne of the Lord and be filled with
- 2:09Speaker 2: his word. Today we'll be meditating on Proverbs 17 verse
- 2:16Speaker 2: 9 from the King James Version. He that covereth the
- 2:20Speaker 2: transgression seeketh love, but he that repeateth the matter separateth
- 2:25Speaker 2: very friends. Now let your worship rise up to God. God,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I praise you because your love never fails. And it
- 2:40Speaker 2: covers all my sins, my transgressions. I adore you because
- 2:47Speaker 2: you are good. You're kind. And your mercies endure forever.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I praise you for your endless grace. I worship you
- 2:57Speaker 2: because you're great. There's no one else.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Like you, God.
- 3:06Speaker 2: You know, being perfect is impossible. No one can be perfect.
- 3:13Speaker 2: No one can be the perfect friend, the perfect partner,
- 3:17Speaker 2: the perfect person. As we ourselves cannot be perfect, we
- 3:21Speaker 2: cannot expect perfection from others. Even the Bible, even the
- 3:26Speaker 2: people who you are closest to, will sometimes hurt you.
- 3:35Speaker 2: The Bible teaches us that all have sinned and fallen
- 3:39Speaker 2: short of the glory of God. I want you to
- 3:41Speaker 2: take a couple of moments and think of relationships that
- 3:44Speaker 2: you're struggling with. Relationships that need to be restored and repaired.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Now pray to God and confess to Him those areas
- 3:59Speaker 2: of weakness, of sin, of brokenness. Share with the Holy
- 4:08Speaker 2: Spirit your sorrow and suffering, your pain. Confess to God
- 4:17Speaker 2: your imperfections. God is not expecting absolute perfection from you,
- 4:25Speaker 2: but He wants you to live a life free in
- 4:30Speaker 2: the power of His Spirit. Open yourself to God's love
- 4:36Speaker 2: and pour out all that is weighing heavy on your heart. Now,
- 4:42Speaker 2: consider all the times God's love covered your sins and
- 4:48Speaker 2: thank Him for it. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord,
- 4:55Speaker 2: for forgiving all that bad stuff, all the wrong choices,
- 5:04Speaker 2: the decisions that were made. And thank God for choosing
- 5:10Speaker 2: to love you instead of holding your mistakes against you.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Thank Him for forgiving you of your past sins and transgressions.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Thank the Holy Spirit for having loved you in spite
- 5:27Speaker 2: of all the times you quenched the Spirit. Give thanks
- 5:33Speaker 2: to God Because through his own love, he grants us
- 5:37Speaker 2: the power to love others. And I hope you'll never forget,
- 5:42Speaker 2: God is present and he's listening to you. Come before
- 5:49Speaker 2: him and ask him for the strength to choose love
- 5:54Speaker 2: over grudges. Ask God to help you to let go
- 5:59Speaker 2: of the hurt from the past deeds that were done
- 6:03Speaker 2: against you. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to
- 6:09Speaker 2: love others the way Jesus loved you. Choose in this
- 6:15Speaker 2: moment to reach out to God. Ask Him for the
- 6:19Speaker 2: ability to choose love over hurt. To have a love
- 6:24Speaker 2: so great it will overcome all transgressions committed against you.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And remember, love overcomes a mountain of offenses. To cover
- 6:39Speaker 2: a transgression does not mean to pretend it didn't happen.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And while boundaries might still be necessary, choose to let
- 6:50Speaker 2: go of the hurt and to love the person instead.
- 6:55Speaker 2: To allow love to be greater. Instead of bringing up
- 7:01Speaker 2: past offenses and mentioning the wrong done to you, choose
- 7:08Speaker 2: to love the person as God gives you the strength
- 7:13Speaker 2: and the grace to do it. Choose to allow love
- 7:18Speaker 2: to be greater than the hurt. God has already given
- 7:23Speaker 2: you the ability to repair and mend your broken relationships
- 7:29Speaker 2: by leaning on His love for you. I hope you'll
- 7:35Speaker 2: seek to love others as Jesus loves you. Thanks for
- 7:41Speaker 2: completing today's meditative prayer on Pray.com. By incorporating this healthy
- 7:47Speaker 2: habit into your daily practice, you're making prayer a priority
- 7:51Speaker 2: and strengthening your walk with God. I'm Dr. Tim Clinton,
- 7:55Speaker 2: President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and we
- 7:59Speaker 2: love being a part of your life. Okay.
