- 0:00Speaker 1: No hold passes required. Join us on the recess bell.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Because the cool kids don't need permission.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's time for recess on 90.3 WHPC.
- 0:11Speaker 1: If you take.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Your love away from.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Me, I'll go crazy.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I'll go crazy. If you take your love away, crazy, crazy, please.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Stay with me forever, forever.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Baby, don't say.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You're the way that I know that I know that
- 0:59Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:25Speaker 1: For the New York Knicks. I'm telling you, I'm not well, right?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Y'all know this. That's how I agree. No, everyone knows
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm not a mentally healthy person. I'm insane. Yeah, in
- 1:41Speaker 1: my own head. Private conversations in my own head. The voices, right?
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm not well. So when I'm watching the Knicks in
- 1:47Speaker 1: their preseason game, not even at the Garden, at a
- 1:50Speaker 1: preseason game on my TV.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Yeah, Cat!
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, bully them boys down low! There we go, Jalen!
- 2:00Speaker 5: Knicks in 26!
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm not, people are looking at me in my own
- 2:06Speaker 1: house like, what's wrong with you? Like, they know it's
- 2:10Speaker 1: not even no big stakes right now. But that's how
- 2:13Speaker 1: hyped up I am. This is the year. If they
- 2:15Speaker 1: don't get it done this year, I don't know. Celtics
- 2:17Speaker 1: is out. Tatum's hurt. Pacers are out. No more devil magic.
- 2:23Speaker 1: No more devil magic from the Pacers. The East is clear.
- 2:29Speaker 5: The Knicks have a wide open lane.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yo, Corey. Who are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What
- 2:51Speaker 1: they call that? What the kids call that? An aura gamble?
- 2:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: That was a crazy aura gamble. I just felt it.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I called my shot. Nixon 26. The East was open
- 3:05Speaker 1: and I just felt it. I stamped it. I made
- 3:10Speaker 1: the guarantee. Josh, ever since you.
- 3:13Speaker 6: Ever since then, I'm starting to question something like this.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Did we get in a leery? Did we sacrifice everything else?
- 3:24Speaker 1: I knew you was going to go there. That's exactly
- 3:25Speaker 1: where we're going to go, Corey. So put a bookmark
- 3:28Speaker 1: in that. Welcome to our number two of the Recess
- 3:31Speaker 1: Bell on air. We are here. Blessed to be here
- 3:35Speaker 1: on the voice of Nassau Community College. 90.3 WHPC. It
- 3:39Speaker 1: is your host, Joshua Imahi. You're 36. No, I'm 29.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm joined by Corey David and Nikki Marie, the wonderful
- 3:48Speaker 1: Nikki Marie joining us in studio for the first time
- 3:51Speaker 1: in a long time.
- 3:52Speaker 4: We back, baby.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, we did.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Some of us.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God. We did it. Yes, we did it.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We did.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Some of us are back.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry Eric, Melanie, and Leigh wanted to be fake.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Now welcome me back to the program.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I was so excited.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, we about to throw it down
- 4:14Speaker 2: and have a good old party.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That's why we slander in Gen Z when they're not here.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Talking about them behind their back.
- 4:25Speaker 4: That's you. I'm not getting involved.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I'm not getting involved.
- 4:31Speaker 3: No.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Never. Never. Once again, Joshua Imahi joined by Corey Dave
- 4:38Speaker 1: and Nikki Marie. And we talked about, of course, the
- 4:41Speaker 1: theme of the show, Gen Z. As part of our
- 4:44Speaker 1: Suicide Prevention Awareness Month campaign throughout the month of September,
- 4:48Speaker 1: The Recess Bell has posted three articles to TheRecessBell.com discussing
- 4:54Speaker 1: suicide prevention. The first one covered support systems. The second
- 4:59Speaker 1: one covered neurodivergent masking, autistic masking, ADHD masking. You know,
- 5:04Speaker 1: putting on a performance to hide your symptoms from the
- 5:07Speaker 1: public so you don't get bullied. Sorry. And then there
- 5:11Speaker 1: was the last one, the final one that we posted
- 5:14Speaker 1: yesterday on TheRecessBell.com titled Gen Z and the Loneliness Epidemic.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And during our number one, we discussed that was a
- 5:22Speaker 1: great conversation, by the way, on Gen Z. Give ourselves
- 5:25Speaker 1: a round of applause and pat ourselves on the back. Woo! Outstanding.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah. We love us some us over here on TRB, man.
- 5:34Speaker 1: You know, in case you missed it. Yeah, you can
- 5:38Speaker 1: just head over to the Recess Bell podcast feed where
- 5:41Speaker 1: if you get your podcast, we post every show, every
- 5:44Speaker 1: hour of every show, every week to the podcast feed.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So there ain't no excuse. All right. Check it out.
- 5:50Speaker 1: After you're done listening to us, though. Of course. Yes.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Just wanted to reemphasize that. But yeah, yo, Gen Z
- 5:57Speaker 1: from growing up in the most single family households by
- 6:01Speaker 1: a generation ever, really. Growing up in the most digital
- 6:06Speaker 1: social media era ever. Growing up with the accessibility of
- 6:09Speaker 1: gambling and Instagram. And Instagram, I think, just settled a
- 6:14Speaker 1: class action lawsuit on the peddling. How do I want
- 6:19Speaker 1: to say this? Unhealthy habits in their app to the youth.
- 6:26Speaker 1: like body image body dysmorphia food uh yeah so they
- 6:30Speaker 1: had all that they were kind of feeding into that
- 6:32Speaker 1: and yeah i think they just settled a big class
- 6:34Speaker 1: action lawsuit like millions of dollars on that so yeah
- 6:38Speaker 1: they're a lot of a lot of poor cards that
- 6:41Speaker 1: gen z was dope gen z millennial gen x boomers
- 6:46Speaker 1: gen alpha even all sitting at the poker table you
- 6:49Speaker 1: pick up your hand this is a this is a
- 6:51Speaker 1: trash hand yo like these hands we got dealt but
- 6:55Speaker 1: then like cory said and nikki said the beauty is
- 6:58Speaker 1: in the eye of the beholder right it's like when
- 7:00Speaker 1: you're playing spades and you pick up your deck and
- 7:02Speaker 1: it's like at first glance it's like i don't know
- 7:06Speaker 1: but you look at it a little more and you
- 7:08Speaker 1: see how the everyone else's cards play out it's like
- 7:11Speaker 1: wait a minute i can make something shake with this
- 7:12Speaker 1: hold up wait a minute and then before you know
- 7:14Speaker 1: it you and your partner won that hand i don't.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Think cory knows how to play spades oh.
- 7:20Speaker 1: No we're doing this uh Corey, have you learned how
- 7:25Speaker 1: to play spades yet? I have not. There's still time.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Guess what? You know what I'm going to do?
- 7:31Speaker 6: I'm going to take a lesson out of the Gen
- 7:32Speaker 6: Z book and I'm going to just YouTube it. And
- 7:38Speaker 6: I got to make sure I find certain content creators
- 7:41Speaker 6: who will give me the game in only the way
- 7:46Speaker 6: that I know certain people.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Would give me the game. Yes.
- 7:49Speaker 6: Yes. Because you just can't type in how to play
- 7:53Speaker 6: spades and just take anybody's tutorial.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's true. You got to go to the
- 7:57Speaker 1: right people.
- 7:57Speaker 5: That's true.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 7:59Speaker 1: They're going to have you looking crazy at the table post-hookout.
- 8:03Speaker 1: They're going to be looking crazy like, who taught you
- 8:04Speaker 1: how to play? Yeah, you don't want that. You got
- 8:08Speaker 1: to make sure you definitely find the right. That's what
- 8:11Speaker 1: I love about this generation. The content creation. I think
- 8:16Speaker 1: we all have a favorite content creator. You know, as
- 8:20Speaker 1: the recess belt is the network for creatives. Let's low
- 8:23Speaker 1: key real quick before we move on to the NFL
- 8:25Speaker 1: because we got to talk about football.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Oh, of course.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Before you do that, I want to shout out our
- 8:30Speaker 1: favorite like say we go home tonight. We tire. We like, yo,
- 8:37Speaker 1: let me just eat dinner to YouTube real quick. Cause
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's another thing with Gen Z screen addictions. We can't
- 8:44Speaker 1: do anything without turning on YouTube or TV or something. Yeah. So, uh, what, what,
- 8:50Speaker 1: what content creator are you putting on the, uh, the YouTube?
- 8:55Speaker 4: I'm more of on Instagram.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So, like, it has to be, like, does it have to,
- 9:00Speaker 1: could it be just a, oh, well. Anything.
- 9:03Speaker 6: For me, I follow, like, I watch, like, mostly a
- 9:06Speaker 6: lot of this group called Self Made. It's this group
- 9:10Speaker 6: of guys who talk about wrestling and stuff like that. And,
- 9:14Speaker 6: you know, they talk about it in the funniest way.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Only certain people know how to do it. And I
- 9:22Speaker 6: also follow this page on YouTube called Showroom LA. It
- 9:25Speaker 6: just talks about fashion and, like, clothes and stuff.
- 9:29Speaker 4: That was a twist for me. I didn't think you
- 9:31Speaker 4: were going that way.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But at the end of the night, I really like
- 9:37Speaker 2: to just laugh, and so I like to follow Tony
- 9:41Speaker 2: Baker because he– between the animals and just his sense
- 9:48Speaker 2: of humor. And sometimes he also has a positive message
- 9:51Speaker 2: with each one of these videos.
- 9:53Speaker 6: So question, if you follow Tony Baker, then I'll assume
- 9:55Speaker 6: that you watch Kevin on stage.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I do sometimes.
- 10:02Speaker 2: But it's so crazy how they just became like these
- 10:06Speaker 2: popular overnight sensations. And I mean, they've been doing their
- 10:10Speaker 2: thing for a while, but their content on Instagram really
- 10:15Speaker 2: put them out there. I could say the same thing
- 10:17Speaker 2: about Jess Hilarious. She actually, you know, was posting stuff.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Shout out Jess Hilarious. Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 2: She was posting stuff and I had the pleasure of
- 10:26Speaker 2: meeting her a couple months ago. But yeah, I do
- 10:31Speaker 2: enjoy a laugh before I go to bed.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Now, I had to hold back a giggle while you
- 10:39Speaker 1: were saying that. I wasn't laughing at you. I just
- 10:41Speaker 1: thought of my creator of choice.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Uh-oh.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Corey knows him well, because I like the dark humor.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Does the name start with a T?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yup.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Does it end with a S?
- 10:52Speaker 6: Yup.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Is it Trey Rags? Shout out my boy Trey Rags, bro.
- 11:05Speaker 5: What?
- 11:06Speaker 1: I knew it. I knew it. Yo, I'm sorry. So, Nikki,
- 11:09Speaker 1: let me just describe this guy to you, man. So
- 11:11Speaker 1: he does like the same way like Drewski does skits.
- 11:14Speaker 1: He does skits, but like in his own way. I'll
- 11:18Speaker 1: put it in this way. He's Drewski, but Drewski didn't
- 11:23Speaker 1: have corporate sponsors. He's evil Drewski. He's evil Drewski. His
- 11:29Speaker 1: humor is so funny.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Like, I am not going to lie. There's one joke
- 11:37Speaker 6: that he made about a certain time period where, you know,
- 11:40Speaker 6: black and brown people weren't in the best of situations
- 11:43Speaker 6: that I was like, dog, I can't believe you made
- 11:46Speaker 6: a joke about that.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And it would be funny. That's the thing. Like, I
- 11:51Speaker 1: like the type of humor where, like, the person through
- 11:54Speaker 1: the screen says what I'm thinking but can't say out loud.
- 11:56Speaker 6: Did you see the one where he was, like, on
- 11:58Speaker 6: the toilet and it was, like, robbers robbing the house?
- 12:03Speaker 1: And it's just like, what were you doing?
- 12:07Speaker 4: What were you doing?
- 12:08Speaker 6: And it's like, he's on the toilet. He's like, you know, like,
- 12:11Speaker 6: this kid, his kid and his wife are getting kidnapped.
- 12:13Speaker 6: He's like, when I get off this toilet, it's like, man,
- 12:17Speaker 6: shut up with your.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Corey, when I tell you that's actually one of my
- 12:21Speaker 1: greatest fears in life. Like I had a nightmare about
- 12:23Speaker 1: that once. Like I'm just on the toilet and then
- 12:28Speaker 1: somebody just breaks in. It's like, oh, now?
- 12:31Speaker 3: Now?
- 12:31Speaker 1: Really? You had to go now? Now, now? You can't
- 12:35Speaker 1: come back in 10 minutes? Now, now? Crazy. But yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 1: this is Trey Rags right here. This is one of
- 12:41Speaker 1: my favorite drops of all time. Oh, man.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Yo, you remember that running bit of that was like,
- 12:48Speaker 6: you know, it was like he went like the red
- 12:50Speaker 6: shirt and had to just come out of nowhere and
- 12:52Speaker 6: just hit somebody.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yep.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yep. Oh, man. See, his humor is like the Recess
- 13:01Speaker 1: Bell's humor. Like we're going to touch whatever topic we
- 13:03Speaker 1: want and we don't care what you got to say
- 13:04Speaker 1: about it because you're going to laugh regardless. like it's
- 13:09Speaker 1: funny i like people be like oh you know the
- 13:11Speaker 1: recess bell i haven't heard this directly so i'm just
- 13:13Speaker 1: you know making things up that's what i do i'm
- 13:16Speaker 1: a liar liar liar pants on fire yeah that's me
- 13:22Speaker 1: um yeah so i'll be like you know uh or
- 13:24Speaker 1: i'll hear things like oh the recess bell be talking
- 13:26Speaker 1: about this that and they'll be they be talking about
- 13:27Speaker 1: politics they don't know what they're talking about and i'm
- 13:29Speaker 1: just like did you laugh though right If you laughed,
- 13:35Speaker 1: then we did our job. All right? Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 6: I want to have a... One day I'm going to
- 13:39Speaker 6: have like a subject that I want to bring up.
- 13:41Speaker 6: Because I want to do a case study on somebody.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Mr.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Beast?
- 13:45Speaker 1: A case study on somebody?
- 13:47Speaker 6: Yes.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Who do you want to do?
- 13:48Speaker 6: Who do you want to investigate on our program? I
- 13:50Speaker 6: want to do a case study on... On Brittany Griner.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Oh. Do you know why? Because... Do I want to
- 13:59Speaker 1: know why? No, no, no. She's the only.
- 14:01Speaker 6: She's one of the few people that I can say...
- 14:04Speaker 6: that a woman a woman who has gone through a
- 14:09Speaker 6: male's experience like like from like I'm talking about from
- 14:13Speaker 6: baby mama drama to now her ex-wife is trying to
- 14:16Speaker 6: get child I mean financial support.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm like I got I want to see what you
- 14:22Speaker 1: I want to see.
- 14:23Speaker 6: Like like her perspective how she like how she deals
- 14:26Speaker 6: with this because it's like she's one of the few
- 14:28Speaker 6: people who I can honestly.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Say has gone through things that a male has gone
- 14:32Speaker 1: through in.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Life been to prison yo had it and then had
- 14:37Speaker 6: had somebody who held you down right and then you left.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Them she really sped around the male experience i will
- 14:47Speaker 1: agree with.
- 14:47Speaker 4: That had to be a reason.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Just saying that's uh it's always a reason that's right
- 14:54Speaker 6: there's always a reason time out time out the only
- 14:56Speaker 6: you know you know you know it'll be like.
- 14:58Speaker 4: The full circle moment If they got back together.
- 15:01Speaker 1: No, no, no. What's that Kanye West line?
- 15:03Speaker 6: When she get home, he leave for what?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Oh.
- 15:10Speaker 6: We find out that Brittany Griner likes snow.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I ain't going for it. She completed the cycle. She
- 15:19Speaker 1: completed the cycle.
- 15:20Speaker 4: And then you really know.
- 15:23Speaker 1: As I always say, every Wednesday on TRB is White
- 15:26Speaker 1: Girl Wednesday. Can I get an amen?
- 15:30Speaker 6: No.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:32Speaker 1: No, it's like, nah, we, we love white. This is
- 15:35Speaker 1: a white woman friendly show. You feel me? We.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Shout out to BG.
- 15:40Speaker 1: One of the best WNBA players of all time. All time.
- 15:43Speaker 4: With a knee injury right now.
- 15:45Speaker 6: Huh?
- 15:46Speaker 4: With a knee injury.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Well, I think she's transitioning into coaching.
- 15:51Speaker 4: It seems like everybody has some.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Transitioning into what? Coaching. Sorry. You know what that was, Corey? What? Oh, man.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I tapped into my tray rags real fast. I didn't
- 16:03Speaker 1: mean to do that. That's my fault.
- 16:04Speaker 6: No, she's transitioning to coaching most likely.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Okay, transitioning into coaching. Sure. Cool. Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 6: I think right now she's working in the scouting department
- 16:17Speaker 6: for the Connecticut Sun. And I think low-key she's like
- 16:23Speaker 6: what Bill Russell was back in the day.
- 16:24Speaker 1: She's a player coach right now.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Like she's a coach she's she's a player like technically
- 16:31Speaker 6: on the active role well she's more of a coach
- 16:33Speaker 6: now she's not.
- 16:35Speaker 1: As i will say cory um you said scouting department
- 16:41Speaker 1: with the wmba with the way the wmba be moving
- 16:45Speaker 1: we have to make sure that don't mean.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Nothing else well we know who's the elite scout you
- 16:49Speaker 6: know who's the elite scout uh scouter.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And um The WNBA. Shout out to Melissa Smith.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Like all these players dating players. The WNBA is so
- 16:58Speaker 1: fascinating because that is the only professional sports league where
- 17:02Speaker 1: that happens. Yo, tell them all. Tell them all. Teammates
- 17:04Speaker 1: dating teammates. Players dating rival team players.
- 17:08Speaker 6: Yo, Josh, tell me why Deja Kelly, she just got
- 17:12Speaker 6: put onto a developmental contract for the Dallas Wings. And
- 17:18Speaker 6: they said, yo, AZ, you better watch your girl. everybody
- 17:23Speaker 6: kept saying miss miss sneaky link just joined the team.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It's really a crazy reality over there like imagine like
- 17:32Speaker 1: and i love it i don't know and i love
- 17:34Speaker 1: it i love it i love all of it imagine
- 17:37Speaker 1: like in the nfl imagine like jackson dart and geno
- 17:40Speaker 1: smith dating like that's just the wmba is the only
- 17:44Speaker 1: league where that.
- 17:44Speaker 6: Happens wait what why you said why you say two
- 17:47Speaker 6: rival teams why you say two rival teams Why didn't
- 17:50Speaker 6: you say teammates?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Why didn't you say teammates?
- 17:52Speaker 4: And you said they're dating.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like that's what they do in the WNBA.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So imagine other sports doing that, like LeBron James dating,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I don't know, Jalen Brown. Like, yeah, they're on the
- 18:02Speaker 1: same team. Let's get together. The WNBA is the only
- 18:06Speaker 1: league where that happens, at least outwardly.
- 18:08Speaker 6: I just want to point out, I said ew, but
- 18:10Speaker 6: I was talking about the fact that you were saying
- 18:12Speaker 6: that to about two different teams.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yeah no yeah no we know we know you're an
- 18:19Speaker 1: ally bro you.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Don't gotta prove it to me brother i'm not trying
- 18:23Speaker 6: to get canceled out here i want to prove that
- 18:25Speaker 6: i'm an ally yeah we all we all trying to
- 18:28Speaker 6: get jobs out here so we got no total line
- 18:30Speaker 6: yes but we just went through so much that i
- 18:36Speaker 6: was like what was our starting point.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Yeah, let's shift to... Okay, so first hour was the
- 18:45Speaker 1: Gen Z hour, right? In terms of tonight. This hour
- 18:49Speaker 1: is the sports hour. No sports report tonight. Check the
- 18:55Speaker 1: podcast feed for that. Maybe I'll post something for y'all.
- 18:57Speaker 1: A little something something for y'all. But... Yes. Super producer Nikki.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Drop the beat.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Drop it.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Ah!
- 19:05Speaker 3: Ah!
- 19:18Speaker 1: Absolutely. Let's get it.
- 19:22Speaker 6: I wish I could do the drop like how Eric
- 19:25Speaker 6: be doing it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It's a football Wednesday. Let's go around the NFL week
- 19:35Speaker 1: number two. What a week. You know what's funny? And
- 19:39Speaker 1: we mentioned it during the start of the show. NFL
- 19:41Speaker 1: is truly a week-to-week league. So many teams that were
- 19:44Speaker 1: riding high week one got humbled week two and then
- 19:47Speaker 1: vice versa, right? Teams that had a great win week
- 19:49Speaker 1: one week two, you know, just disappointment. Or the other
- 19:54Speaker 1: way around, like, you know, tough loss week one, great
- 19:57Speaker 1: win week two. You won! Right?
- 20:00Speaker 5: Let's start.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Mickey's New York Jets. I think.
- 20:08Speaker 4: They called him SmackDown. Don't talk smack.
- 20:12Speaker 1: What happened to the Jets, Nikki? Now, if you look
- 20:15Speaker 1: at the stats, Corey, because me and Corey are the
- 20:17Speaker 1: stats people, right? Yeah, you do that. If you look
- 20:19Speaker 1: at the stats, the Jets outpassed the Packers. They outgained
- 20:26Speaker 1: the Packers. They outrushed the Packers. They had more average
- 20:30Speaker 1: yards per play than the Packers. They had more first
- 20:32Speaker 1: downs than the Packers. They had less penalties than the Packers.
- 20:36Speaker 1: They ran 22 more plays than the Packers. But they
- 20:40Speaker 1: lost to the Packers. Damn!
- 20:44Speaker 4: That's because the Packers were packing.
- 20:48Speaker 2: The Packers were packing and Geno Smith was sacking.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yo! Okay, Bars. Okay, I didn't know where you was
- 20:57Speaker 1: going with that. That was Bars. I can't hear you.
- 21:00Speaker 1: It was Bars. Yeah, very tough loss. Jets lose to
- 21:06Speaker 1: the Packers 20-17 in overtime. So the Jets' first loss
- 21:10Speaker 1: of the season. Great win week one, but came crashing down.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Questionable coaching decisions by Aaron Glenn.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Yeah, everybody's saying, yo, the Jets should have easily won
- 21:20Speaker 6: this game. All they had to do was run the ball.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Really? Yeah, pretty much. It was theirs.
- 21:26Speaker 4: I turned away for a second, and then boom. Packers
- 21:30Speaker 4: was at 20. I'm like, wait, hold up.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I wanted to walk through the TV and be like,
- 21:36Speaker 1: I know Brees Hall didn't have the best game stats wise,
- 21:38Speaker 1: but hi, Aaron Glenn. This is Brees Hall. He's on
- 21:43Speaker 1: your football team. Would you like to use him? Use
- 21:47Speaker 1: him more creative? Creatively? Like, what are we doing?
- 21:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:51Speaker 1: You know, he can run the ball and catch the ball, right?
- 21:53Speaker 1: He actually led the Jets in passing yards or receiving
- 21:56Speaker 1: yards this game. But yeah. And then the short yardage.
- 22:01Speaker 1: First off, The Jets and short yardage, you got this
- 22:04Speaker 1: big kid, Braylon Allen. He scored a touchdown on Sunday,
- 22:06Speaker 1: but he's a big dude, like six foot four. What
- 22:09Speaker 1: are we talking, like 250, Corey? Like big guy. He
- 22:14Speaker 1: had that one touchdown. He got stuffed on like three
- 22:16Speaker 1: short yardage situations. I'm like, so you that big for nothing? Pause. Like,
- 22:21Speaker 1: what's going on? It's crazy.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Some people are saying that the coach should have actually
- 22:29Speaker 2: called the timeout.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Before overtime yeah i'm not sure.
- 22:34Speaker 1: What happened was you're absolutely right nikki so what happened
- 22:36Speaker 1: was the jets they stopped the packers on third down
- 22:40Speaker 1: and the clock was about 50 seconds the jets could
- 22:42Speaker 1: have taken a timeout to stop the clock at around
- 22:45Speaker 1: 45 seconds and get the ball punted to them from
- 22:48Speaker 1: midfield now it's still unlikely they would have came away
- 22:51Speaker 1: with points it was a rainy day you would have
- 22:53Speaker 1: to pass your way down the field but at least
- 22:55Speaker 1: give your team the opportunity to try right instead of
- 22:58Speaker 1: just oh we're going to tuck our tails and go
- 23:00Speaker 1: to overtime. Like I didn't like that. Like so many
- 23:03Speaker 1: teams in the NFL, like they play to, they don't
- 23:07Speaker 1: play to win. They play not to lose. And I
- 23:10Speaker 1: feel like that always backfires. And unfortunately we saw it
- 23:13Speaker 1: with the Jets on Sunday. Very tough loss. Speaking of
- 23:18Speaker 1: tough losses in more ways than one, you know, when
- 23:21Speaker 1: I say the NFL is a week to week league
- 23:24Speaker 1: morale wise, The New York Giants are the case study
- 23:29Speaker 1: for that. Why are we going to do this? I'm sorry, bro. Listen, man. Now,
- 23:38Speaker 1: the Giants had a phenomenal win in week one Sunday
- 23:42Speaker 1: night football. Everybody was glued to their TV to watch
- 23:46Speaker 1: them out physical outplay the Dallas Cowboys. Right. America's team.
- 23:51Speaker 1: What a performance. Jackson Dart, three touchdowns really burst onto
- 23:55Speaker 1: the scene like household name. If you perform, if you perform,
- 23:58Speaker 1: excuse me, on Sunday night football, you stamped like you
- 24:01Speaker 1: a primetime player. So the Giants had another primetime game
- 24:05Speaker 1: against the Super Bowl favorite in the Los Angeles Rams.
- 24:09Speaker 6: And.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I'm locked into this game. I'm like, oh, Giants-Rams is
- 24:13Speaker 1: going to be a great game. I actually picked the
- 24:15Speaker 1: New York Giants to win.
- 24:17Speaker 6: Wow.
- 24:18Speaker 1: On Monday night.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Look at you.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And then it all came crashing down. Like the first
- 24:22Speaker 1: drive of the game, right from the outset, Jackson Dart
- 24:25Speaker 1: got high load on a hit. Both tackles, Andrew Thomas
- 24:29Speaker 1: and Jermaine Illumina allowed pressure. Jackson Dart dropped back deep
- 24:32Speaker 1: in the pocket. The pressure got to him, got hit high,
- 24:35Speaker 1: got hit low. And the low hit was a disastrous
- 24:38Speaker 1: one because he got his knee messed up. It was
- 24:42Speaker 1: thought that he had a sprained MCL, Corey. And that's
- 24:46Speaker 1: what we kind of led into. We left the game,
- 24:48Speaker 1: the Giants losing 28 to 6. We left the game.
- 24:53Speaker 1: talking about oh you know tough loss but jackson dart
- 24:55Speaker 1: should be back i mean it wasn't the worst case
- 24:57Speaker 1: scenario whenever you talk about a knee injury like knee
- 25:00Speaker 1: ligaments you're like yeah oh you're thinking the worst but
- 25:05Speaker 1: it looked good like jackson dart was standing on the
- 25:07Speaker 1: sideline all good like i'm gonna be back talking to
- 25:10Speaker 1: i mean i was reading lips like i'm gonna be
- 25:12Speaker 1: back no worries then comes the mri today yeah New
- 25:20Speaker 1: York Giants quarterback Jackson Dart's knee injury is, after further imaging,
- 25:27Speaker 1: it appears to be more serious than it was originally
- 25:30Speaker 1: looking like. And he may be out for the season.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 1: What do you mean by that? Yeah, the season. Out
- 25:38Speaker 1: for the season. Damn. Yeah. Now, Corey, I really hate
- 25:41Speaker 1: that I had to take you down.
- 25:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:44Speaker 1: That trauma.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Corey's not doing well. He's not done.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah. What's the morale like from the Giants? The high
- 25:51Speaker 1: of week one, that win, that great win versus Dallas
- 25:54Speaker 1: to not even losing the game uncompetitively last night, but
- 25:57Speaker 1: losing not even Jackson Dart. Malik neighbors got hurt. Andrew
- 26:01Speaker 1: Thomas got hurt. Brian got hurt. A lot of injuries
- 26:04Speaker 1: on Monday night.
- 26:05Speaker 6: It sucks because like, you know, I thought we had
- 26:08Speaker 6: a solid team this year. I thought we had a
- 26:10Speaker 6: real solid team. We brought Odell back for this, for this.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Well, what about, what about the quarterback now? Winston? He
- 26:19Speaker 4: ain't any good?
- 26:20Speaker 1: No.
- 26:21Speaker 6: You know, he's a good guy to have in the
- 26:24Speaker 6: locker room. Somebody to lift his spirits. He's never meant
- 26:28Speaker 6: to start. He's that guy that's like a hype man
- 26:31Speaker 6: on the bench. We just give him money to be
- 26:33Speaker 6: a hype man.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he's the mascot.
- 26:35Speaker 6: Yes, he's never supposed to actually get in the game.
- 26:39Speaker 6: And then you got people who are like, yo. Now,
- 26:43Speaker 6: you know, Josh, you know what team I like. You
- 26:46Speaker 6: know who I, like, root for to want to succeed
- 26:48Speaker 6: as a quarterback sometimes, right?
- 26:49Speaker 1: Who would that be, Corey? Lamar Jackson, right? So, I
- 26:55Speaker 1: know Harbaugh very well. Mm-hmm.
- 26:58Speaker 6: Why does this curse of injuries follow this man like
- 27:03Speaker 6: a plague? Last year, half the Ravens were injured. This year,
- 27:07Speaker 6: everybody's getting injured on the Giants.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Like, come on, dog. I don't want to— I don't
- 27:13Speaker 1: want to recklessly speculate, Corey, but I mean, everyone talked
- 27:16Speaker 1: about the Giants, especially after their week one win. Like, oh,
- 27:19Speaker 1: they ran such a physical training camp. They were ready
- 27:21Speaker 1: for the challenge. I mean, I don't know. I don't
- 27:23Speaker 1: know how these things work physically wise, but. You know,
- 27:27Speaker 1: maybe there's a tie. Maybe there isn't.
- 27:28Speaker 6: But I mean, Zay Flowers said something to that correlation
- 27:32Speaker 6: in a podcast in the offseason. You know, they felt
- 27:36Speaker 6: that their body was breaking now because they will be
- 27:39Speaker 6: running things that you're only supposed to be running in
- 27:42Speaker 6: the offseason, midseason.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But I digress. um what we said earlier too much
- 27:48Speaker 1: of anything ain't good yeah but.
- 27:51Speaker 6: Now now we gotta either now it's like we can't
- 27:53Speaker 6: even punt the season for like an arch man because
- 27:56Speaker 6: jackson dart is still gonna come back but then we
- 27:58Speaker 6: don't even know if we still have faith in him
- 27:59Speaker 6: because this is like multiple years injured already and then
- 28:03Speaker 6: you gotta figure that as bad as we might be
- 28:06Speaker 6: atlanta might be.
- 28:08Speaker 1: As Oh, let's go. Corey, you read my mind.
- 28:12Speaker 6: I'm like, you got so many bad teams.
- 28:18Speaker 1: It's not fair.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Too bad the Giants don't have Russell Wilson anymore.
- 28:23Speaker 6: Well, we might need him. Hey, how much would it
- 28:27Speaker 6: be to get you out that.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Booth, my boy? Yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 6: As Mike Tyson would say, sign the contract, big boy.
- 28:33Speaker 6: Try to sign the contract.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Call up russell wilson tell him to cut cut cut
- 28:38Speaker 1: off that yee-yee-ass haircut he got on nfr on cbs
- 28:41Speaker 1: i think but he look you're having too much.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Nah he's good and he got baby number five with
- 28:45Speaker 2: sierra nah he's good.
- 28:48Speaker 6: And then you got you got people saying we need
- 28:50Speaker 6: to trade for nine down there in minnesota you got
- 28:55Speaker 6: people who's saying that we should go get either anthony
- 28:57Speaker 6: we should go get anthony richardson The one that don't
- 29:01Speaker 6: make the sense to me is some people are like,
- 29:03Speaker 6: we need to go get Shador. I'm like, leave Shador
- 29:05Speaker 6: in Cleveland with what he got going on.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Let's give Jameis Winston one more week under those circumstances
- 29:12Speaker 1: because none of the quarterbacks Corey listed are any good.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Somebody pointed out to me, yesterday was the best chance
- 29:18Speaker 6: of a Jameis Winston win because the only way you
- 29:22Speaker 6: know that the best shot Jameis Winston has as a
- 29:25Speaker 6: chance of winning a game for you is when people
- 29:27Speaker 6: know he's not going to be playing.
- 29:30Speaker 1: When they know he isn't going.
- 29:31Speaker 6: To be playing, it's that much worse. So at least
- 29:35Speaker 6: you had the surprise element yesterday.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And even that didn't... work.
- 29:40Speaker 6: That pick in the end zone when he was trying
- 29:42Speaker 6: to pass to Malenika Labors.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Oh, my God. It was atrocious. We'll see how the
- 29:47Speaker 1: Giants do next week. They welcome back an old friend, Corey.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Brian Dable, offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. They are 0-2.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Tough boss. Versus the Philadelphia Eagles. They're coming to MetLife
- 29:58Speaker 1: on Sunday.
- 29:59Speaker 6: I'm trying to remember. I'm trying to think. I want
- 30:01Speaker 6: to say something, but I don't know if I can say.
- 30:03Speaker 1: It on air.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Uh-oh.
- 30:05Speaker 6: Well, if you have to think about it. Can I
- 30:08Speaker 6: say that word that starts with an A? Ass. Okay.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Okay, yeah. I just wanted to know.
- 30:13Speaker 6: Yes, it's going to be a battle of ass versus ass, basically. Oh,
- 30:17Speaker 6: ass versus booty.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Booty cheeks.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Because both teams are horrible. Both teams are horrible.
- 30:24Speaker 6: But I think if the Titans can't beat the Giants
- 30:28Speaker 6: in the state that they currently are in, then, yeah,
- 30:30Speaker 6: I don't have no hope for you. But the thing
- 30:32Speaker 6: about it is our defense was actually producing a little bit.
- 30:36Speaker 6: And it's just like, after a while, you can't keep
- 30:39Speaker 6: that going on when the offense keep giving the ball back. Eventually,
- 30:44Speaker 6: they can't do it for that long. Because we had
- 30:46Speaker 6: forced two turnovers. We had a shot. And if Jackson
- 30:49Speaker 6: would have been playing, we would have won.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 30:52Speaker 1: And I've seen people like this.
- 30:53Speaker 6: I've seen people like, everything that a certain person touches
- 30:57Speaker 6: or endorses.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Goes to hell, basically.
- 31:02Speaker 6: And you know who.
- 31:03Speaker 1: That person is. Oh, man. We're getting political. Yo, notice
- 31:09Speaker 1: that Jackson Dark get injured.
- 31:13Speaker 6: A certain Philadelphia Eagles running back ain't been the same since.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the Oval Office meetings. No. Yeah, he almost ruined
- 31:24Speaker 1: it for the Knicks. Like, no, stay away from sports.
- 31:27Speaker 1: You know, we just talked about the Giants and Jets.
- 31:32Speaker 1: So there's a conspiracy going around with the Knicks winning
- 31:36Speaker 1: the finals, right? First championship in 53 years and all that.
- 31:41Speaker 1: There's a conspiracy on New York sports Twitter that the
- 31:44Speaker 1: Knicks sacrificed all the other teams to professional sports teams
- 31:49Speaker 1: to win the championship and that everyone's cursed the Jets
- 31:52Speaker 1: Giants Mets obviously the Yankees might miss Aaron Judge for
- 31:57Speaker 1: the playoffs all of us now like the Knicks might
- 32:00Speaker 1: have sacrificed Liberty have been very inconsistent like the Knicks
- 32:03Speaker 1: might have just sacrificed everybody.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Else but if you asked me would you do it
- 32:07Speaker 6: all over again if you knew what was gonna happen Yes.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I would still do it over again. Would I do
- 32:12Speaker 1: it over again? Yes, I would.
- 32:15Speaker 6: That playoff running championship was everything to me.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Would you rather, for the next five years, right, Corey,
- 32:23Speaker 1: would you have one more Knicks championship and no Giants
- 32:26Speaker 1: playoff appearances or... Two giant Super Bowls and no playoff
- 32:32Speaker 1: finishes for the Knicks.
- 32:33Speaker 6: Give me more Knicks championships because I've lived through two
- 32:40Speaker 6: Super Bowl championships. That's more than Dallas Cowboys fans can say.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Talking about Eric when his back is turned when he's
- 32:53Speaker 1: not in the room.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Backstabber.
- 32:58Speaker 1: We'll get to the Cowboys in a moment, but Corey
- 33:01Speaker 1: did bring up the Atlanta Falcons. Oh, that's a horrible situation.
- 33:07Speaker 6: Stinky smelly. Cam Newton little brother was on, I forgot,
- 33:12Speaker 6: was on Twitter.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I've seen the video.
- 33:13Speaker 6: He was like, hey, do y'all need his number? Do
- 33:16Speaker 6: y'all need his number? I got his number. Because this
- 33:20Speaker 6: is bad. Bryce Young is the owner of the Atlanta Falcons.
- 33:24Speaker 6: I'm going to update his Wikipedia page so it says that.
- 33:26Speaker 1: No worries. I'm going to make sure it says that
- 33:29Speaker 1: for sure.
- 33:29Speaker 2: That reminds me of that video that I had asked
- 33:33Speaker 2: Corey if the Atlanta Falcons ever won a Super Bowl.
- 33:37Speaker 4: And he was kind of stuck.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah. You know they ain't win no Super Bowl. Stop it.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Stop it. It ain't never going to happen either. They
- 33:44Speaker 1: was up 28-3. If you can't win when you're up 28-3,
- 33:49Speaker 1: it's never going to happen for you. It's just not.
- 33:52Speaker 1: It's over.
- 33:52Speaker 4: That's right.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Falcons lost 34-3 to the Carolina Panthers. Bryce Young, 287
- 33:58Speaker 1: yards passing, three touchdowns. Cooper Rush. Booty sucks. That's what
- 34:07Speaker 1: I call him. 10 of 17, 86 yards, two picks.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Wasting B. John Robinson, wasting Drake London, wasting Kyle Pitts,
- 34:14Speaker 1: just wasted talent on the Atlanta Falcons. And guess who
- 34:17Speaker 1: loves every part of it? Your boy. Because my New
- 34:22Speaker 1: Orleans Saints went to Baltimore, like Corey said, and took
- 34:26Speaker 1: down the one of the AFC favorites, the Baltimore Ravens.
- 34:33Speaker 1: This was fascinating. Y'all was not supposed to win that game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 1: So the Saints won 24-17. They again, for the second
- 34:41Speaker 1: straight week, stormed back with a huge fourth quarter, outscoring
- 34:45Speaker 1: the Ravens in this one. 15-0. 15 to zip in
- 34:50Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. Tyler Shuck turned it on late. 252 yards,
- 34:53Speaker 1: one touchdown passing, one touchdown rushing. He had the go-ahead
- 34:57Speaker 1: rush touchdown from one yard out. Controversial, but he also
- 35:00Speaker 1: got his face mask ripped off and his neck snapped sideways.
- 35:03Speaker 1: So maybe the refs... They didn't call it. They didn't
- 35:06Speaker 1: call it. Did the ball break the plane? No, it
- 35:08Speaker 1: did not. No, it did not. Now we're about to argue. No,
- 35:12Speaker 1: it did not. It did not. It did not. See,
- 35:15Speaker 1: the refs are always cheating for these Saints.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Well, the Saints did win one Super Bowl. The Falcons
- 35:22Speaker 2: have not.
- 35:22Speaker 1: They didn't. They've been cheating for them ever since. Corey
- 35:26Speaker 1: just said the most disgusting comment. I'm not even going
- 35:29Speaker 1: to dignify that.
- 35:30Speaker 6: Every time the Saints should lose, the refs are always
- 35:33Speaker 6: saving them.
- 35:36Speaker 1: You about to make me raise my voice, dog. This
- 35:40Speaker 1: is rage bait. He's trying to rage bait me, Nikki.
- 35:42Speaker 4: That's what he's trying to do. I see it in
- 35:45Speaker 4: his eyes. He's coming for you.
- 35:48Speaker 1: It's not going to work. I don't know what you're
- 35:50Speaker 1: talking about. I'm just keeping it honest.
- 35:52Speaker 6: Like, dog, you know that the Ravens should.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Have won that game. Should have, would have, could have,
- 35:58Speaker 1: but they ain't. Oh, you just shucking and jiving. You
- 36:01Speaker 1: know what? Yes. Yes, Corey.
- 36:03Speaker 6: I'm shucking and jiving. Yeah, you know, can I just
- 36:08Speaker 6: say something? You know what the sad part is? Not
- 36:10Speaker 6: the sad part. You somehow lucked into having the best
- 36:15Speaker 6: quarterback from that draft.
- 36:17Speaker 1: When everybody clowned him. Everybody clowned him.
- 36:20Speaker 6: They said, Cam Ward, Shador, all these guys were better.
- 36:24Speaker 6: And it turned out that Tyler Shook would be the
- 36:26Speaker 6: guy who was the best quarterback. Yep.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Who getting shucked tonight. Y'all getting shucked tonight.
- 36:32Speaker 6: Yo, I ain't going to hold you. You know that
- 36:35Speaker 6: post you had in the chat? You did all right, boy.
- 36:39Speaker 6: You did all right. I was going to steal that
- 36:43Speaker 6: and put Jackson Dart face on it when we beat
- 36:46Speaker 6: the Rams yesterday.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And I was like, I couldn't do it. I couldn't
- 36:49Speaker 1: do it. I was like, he got injured. I was like, nah, don't.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Pat on the back. You white, white boy. I ain't
- 36:57Speaker 1: gonna lie.
- 36:57Speaker 6: And then one of the dudes who I be talking
- 36:59Speaker 6: to is the Saints fans, like another kid. Yo, tell
- 37:03Speaker 6: me why he go. They all glow in the fact,
- 37:06Speaker 6: like I was talking to somebody who's a Philadelphia.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Eagles fan and somebody else who's a Saints fan. I
- 37:12Speaker 1: was like, watch. Watch what's going to happen. This is
- 37:15Speaker 1: karma going to come around. Alave. Your bobblehead. Mr. Bobblehead.
- 37:22Speaker 6: All this is going to come around. Oh, I want
- 37:25Speaker 6: to be safe. I want to be safe.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Yo, that's nasty. Yo, Corey's over here clowning NFL players
- 37:32Speaker 1: that want to protect themselves from CTE. Concussions. That's so nasty.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Why are you making fun of that?
- 37:38Speaker 4: You're so mean. They're so mean.
- 37:42Speaker 1: They don't want to be 40 years older than Crip
- 37:44Speaker 1: with CTE just being mad at the world. They don't
- 37:47Speaker 1: want to be like that, so they got to wear
- 37:49Speaker 1: the extra protection. Exactly. What's wrong with extra protection? Perception
- 37:54Speaker 1: is important.
- 37:54Speaker 6: If he wanted to wear extra protection, why he ain't
- 37:57Speaker 6: wear his socks week one? Why he ain't wear his
- 37:59Speaker 6: socks fully up like he's supposed to?
- 38:01Speaker 1: Bottom leg. He did not. Corey's going in gender mode.
- 38:04Speaker 1: He wore ankle socks.
- 38:06Speaker 6: Yes.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Oh, man. By the way, there's nothing wrong with ankle socks.
- 38:11Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with ankle socks, bro. I'll say that.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Why are you running back trying to steal people's names
- 38:15Speaker 6: as well? His name is Trevor. His name is Etienne.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Why are you trying to change it to Etienne? Before
- 38:25Speaker 6: Corey goes any further, let's move on. Other scores around
- 38:29Speaker 6: the NFL. The Bengals defeated the Texans 20-6. Bengals 2-0.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Texans 0-2. The Eagles defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-20. Such
- 38:39Speaker 6: performance from Jalen Hurts.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Go ahead. Touchdown with a few seconds left. The Browns
- 38:44Speaker 1: have defeated the Buccaneers. Oh, I'm sorry. The Cleveland Browns
- 38:50Speaker 1: defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Deshaun Watson got his first
- 38:54Speaker 1: win of the season. So a shout out to Nasty Man.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Nasty Man.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Duck if you buck.
- 39:00Speaker 1: The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears 9-3. So both teams...
- 39:05Speaker 1: had big scoring outputs in week one in wins. And
- 39:09Speaker 1: then the Vikings and Brian Flores' defense shut down Caleb
- 39:12Speaker 1: Williams and the Bears. Corey, what do you make of
- 39:15Speaker 1: Caleb Williams catching a lot of slander for how he reacted? So, Nicky,
- 39:18Speaker 1: what happened was Caleb Williams was about to run for
- 39:21Speaker 1: a touchdown, but he goes down and grabs his leg.
- 39:24Speaker 1: He's writhing in pain. And like we just said with
- 39:26Speaker 1: Jackson Dart, when a player goes down and writhes in
- 39:29Speaker 1: pain and doesn't get up, up you're thinking the worst
- 39:31Speaker 1: right especially if it's your quarterback so he's in tears
- 39:34Speaker 1: they had to cart him off and he gives like
- 39:37Speaker 1: an emotional thumbs up to the crowd like i'm.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Gonna be okay like one of those weak ones.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Right yeah like i'm gonna be good and then we
- 39:44Speaker 1: find out he just had a little hamstring strain he
- 39:47Speaker 1: might play on sunday and everyone's like you soft ass
- 39:51Speaker 1: what's wrong crying over a hamstring strain meanwhile jackson dart
- 39:56Speaker 1: tearing ligaments in his knee he's standing on the sideline
- 39:58Speaker 1: the entire entire second half oh cory what did you
- 40:01Speaker 1: make of all that oh caleb williams catching jokes because
- 40:04Speaker 1: of how he overreacted to his hamstring strain.
- 40:06Speaker 6: And they said, I ain't going to hold you. I
- 40:08Speaker 6: thought Sun tore something crazy. I was like, yo, the
- 40:11Speaker 6: name's like, yeah, it's a great one.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Week to week. Like, nah, though. Nah, though. Nah, though.
- 40:17Speaker 1: You can't do that. You can't do that.
- 40:19Speaker 6: And then it's just like, he, you, like, at this,
- 40:23Speaker 6: you know, the next time he mess up something, I'll, like,
- 40:25Speaker 6: tear something or do something.
- 40:27Speaker 1: You know he got to walk off the field, right?
- 40:28Speaker 6: Because he used that one moment where you getting carted
- 40:32Speaker 6: off and you do the, You do the Michael Jackson wave.
- 40:36Speaker 1: He used his one moment.
- 40:38Speaker 2: But you act like that's something new. Who does that
- 40:41Speaker 2: a lot? Townes, LeBron James. It's like minor injuries and they're.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Like, oh my God.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but nah, nah, nah. They don't get cardio. Cat
- 40:50Speaker 1: is the worst with that. Cat will sprain his bum
- 40:53Speaker 1: and he's like, yo, chill out.
- 40:56Speaker 4: He's like, yo, I hit my index finger. I'm out
- 40:58Speaker 4: for the season.
- 40:58Speaker 6: Well, the thing about Cat is once he ruined, once
- 41:02Speaker 6: he messed up something, once he injured something on his body,
- 41:04Speaker 6: he started looking weird and started moving weird on the court. So, yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 6: he got a reason. Caleb, he got carded off. You
- 41:12Speaker 6: only get carded off if you tell your ace it.
- 41:14Speaker 6: Not even Jackson Dark got carded off. I'm like, his
- 41:18Speaker 6: injury is way worse. I'm like, you know, he has.
- 41:21Speaker 1: To walk off with his own power and act like
- 41:24Speaker 1: nothing happened.
- 41:24Speaker 6: You know when they pan over to the camera and
- 41:27Speaker 6: the guy's walking to the locker room with the helmet.
- 41:29Speaker 1: And stuff like that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's exactly how
- 41:31Speaker 1: you gotta do it.
- 41:32Speaker 6: I don't care if it's torn ACL, ligaments off the,
- 41:35Speaker 6: that's what you gotta do because you wasted your one moment.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I don't want to say Caleb Williams was faking it
- 41:40Speaker 1: by any means. Maybe he just has a low pain tolerance.
- 41:43Speaker 1: But it's funny. I compare it to like women, like
- 41:47Speaker 1: say you're on a date and you're like you know
- 41:49Speaker 1: what i'm gonna get the cookies up on the first
- 41:51Speaker 1: date and then you get it and it's kind of
- 41:53Speaker 1: it's kind of ass kind of trash but nikki you
- 41:55Speaker 1: gotta like fake it gotta fake.
- 41:56Speaker 4: It right fake it fake it till you make it.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Yeah put on the performance i love how you're using
- 42:01Speaker 2: me to say oh you gotta fake it well i'm not.
- 42:06Speaker 1: No i don't do that i'm just you know i'm
- 42:08Speaker 1: just saying.
- 42:09Speaker 4: You know nikki you gotta fake it you're the one
- 42:11Speaker 4: you know.
- 42:11Speaker 1: The woman in the room But now you say you
- 42:15Speaker 1: put on this whole performance, all the moans and stuff. Oh,
- 42:17Speaker 1: my God.
- 42:17Speaker 4: See, I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.
- 42:21Speaker 1: And say he comes back and comes with something better.
- 42:25Speaker 1: you like cory just said you got to go over
- 42:27Speaker 1: the top like now you just gotta oh all this
- 42:30Speaker 1: stuff like you gotta go you gotta sell it.
- 42:33Speaker 6: Curl your toes yeah yeah yeah because once you overreact
- 42:37Speaker 6: the first time now.
- 42:38Speaker 1: You gotta it's levels to it now so yeah caleb
- 42:41Speaker 1: williams gotta like i don't know what he's gonna do.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Next you sound like you're very experienced with that job
- 42:46Speaker 4: can i just.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Say something though you know when you said that theory
- 42:49Speaker 6: you know that theory of him faking it I might
- 42:52Speaker 6: want to go with that theory because of the fact
- 42:54Speaker 6: that they were losing to the Vikings who are supposed
- 42:58Speaker 6: to be horrible.
- 43:00Speaker 1: And so I was like, you know, you ever heard the.
- 43:03Speaker 6: I don't want to sound wrong when I say this,
- 43:07Speaker 6: but you ever heard the theory of Jamaicans in track?
- 43:12Speaker 1: Explain.
- 43:13Speaker 6: So there was always this theory that.
- 43:17Speaker 6: When, like, say you losing or something like that. So, like,
- 43:20Speaker 6: we used to have, like, a bunch of Jamaicans on
- 43:22Speaker 6: our track team, right? And when they was losing, all
- 43:26Speaker 6: of a sudden, they got a hammy problem, a cramp,
- 43:28Speaker 6: or something like that, and they can't finish the race.
- 43:31Speaker 6: And it was always like, yo, when they losing, hey,
- 43:33Speaker 6: fake an entry, so it don't seem that bad. When
- 43:36Speaker 6: they winning, though, I'm healthy. Because literally, they just fake
- 43:39Speaker 6: a hammy one race, and then next race, they're going
- 43:41Speaker 6: to win it. They're like, what happened to your hammy?
- 43:43Speaker 3: And we.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Cause we literally had a, we had a quarterback. Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's like in basketball where you blow a layup, you
- 43:52Speaker 1: miss a layup and you're like, Ooh, exactly. Exactly. Embarrassment.
- 43:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Caleb Williams. I don't know. I feel better. The Patriots
- 44:03Speaker 1: defeated the Steelers 20-3. Our old friend Aaron Rodgers, Nick,
- 44:07Speaker 1: he got absolutely destroyed on one play where he fumbled.
- 44:11Speaker 1: And then they got picked up by the Steelers.
- 44:13Speaker 6: You mean it went all the way back until the
- 44:16Speaker 6: Pittsburgh Steelers end zone, basically?
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yup. And it was a fourth and I believe, I
- 44:21Speaker 1: have it here in my notes, it was a fourth
- 44:23Speaker 1: and 43.
- 44:23Speaker 5: Damn.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not picking that one up, dawg. It's a
- 44:31Speaker 1: big win for the Patriots. So, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Moving on. I can't even begin to talk about the
- 44:38Speaker 1: Los Angeles Chargers, Corey. They're done. Oh, yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 6: I never want to see Justin Herbert and the word
- 44:43Speaker 6: foot and ball in the same subject ever again. Because
- 44:47Speaker 6: the man is talking. I'm trying to remember this whole
- 44:52Speaker 6: thing from memory.
- 44:55Speaker 1: The man can't play? He has small hands. He doesn't
- 44:59Speaker 1: have a drop-back step that he can memorize. He's got
- 45:05Speaker 1: bad feet. He can't really move. Yeah, it's not looking
- 45:09Speaker 1: good for the Chargers. Both losses to the Raiders and
- 45:12Speaker 1: the Cardinals by the same score, 26-14. They're 0-2, and
- 45:16Speaker 1: it doesn't get any better. They have to go up
- 45:18Speaker 1: to Buffalo and play Josh Allen in Week 3. We
- 45:21Speaker 1: about to start calling him Kwame Herbert. I mean, he
- 45:26Speaker 1: already has one of the greatest nicknames on Twitter. The hypothetical.
- 45:32Speaker 1: He's the hypothetical, bro. Mr. What if? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 1: We talked about Gen Z and our number one untapped potential.
- 45:41Speaker 1: If this, if that.
- 45:43Speaker 6: What my god damn Olarski said, but he plays it
- 45:46Speaker 6: how it should be.
- 45:47Speaker 1: He plays it for the competition how it should be played. What,
- 45:49Speaker 1: like ass? The worst. That was all-time nasty by Dan Olasky.
- 45:56Speaker 1: You know how sometimes white people talk in code? Mm-hmm.
- 46:00Speaker 1: That's what that was. You know, Jalen Hurts? Meh. But
- 46:04Speaker 1: Justin Herbert?
- 46:05Speaker 6: That's what it's supposed to look like. Somebody actually called
- 46:07Speaker 6: him out on ESPN today. Somebody actually called him out
- 46:11Speaker 6: on ESPN.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yo like that was crazy so yeah justin herbert in
- 46:15Speaker 1: charge is not in a bad or in a bad
- 46:17Speaker 1: way not in a good way at all the broncos
- 46:19Speaker 1: defeated the jaguars 20 to 13 the dallas cowboys defeated
- 46:22Speaker 1: the commanders 37 to 20 left hand up.
- 46:27Speaker 6: No no no not left hand uh oh left elbow
- 46:31Speaker 6: down uh Oh, I got it.
- 46:35Speaker 1: I got it. Left leg up. Who are we? The command.
- 46:40Speaker 1: What do you mean, brother? Corey's in rare form tonight, bro.
- 46:47Speaker 1: My mama said my arm's going to be okay. Yo, stop, please.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Feel better, Jayden. At least he wasn't like, you know,
- 46:57Speaker 1: he didn't have to get carted off. I don't think.
- 47:01Speaker 6: You know, his bones seem fragile. It's almost like he
- 47:03Speaker 6: didn't get a lot of milk when he was growing up,
- 47:05Speaker 6: when he was a baby or something. Yeah, he has
- 47:07Speaker 6: very frail limbs, like arms and legs. You got to
- 47:11Speaker 6: add some muscle so that doesn't happen. And that wasn't
- 47:13Speaker 6: even a crazy play. His elbow just fell. It hit
- 47:15Speaker 6: the ground, and it just dislocates that easy.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I was like, yo. Don't worry, though. He's all right.
- 47:20Speaker 6: As long as he got the loving arms of his mother,
- 47:23Speaker 6: he will be okay.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, he is what we call, Corey, a
- 47:27Speaker 1: Gen Z mama's boy.
- 47:30Speaker 6: Yeah. Yo, did you see that little shot that the
- 47:33Speaker 6: commentary took? It said his wife and his, I mean,
- 47:36Speaker 6: his mother. That was crazy.
- 47:39Speaker 1: That was crazy. I was like, they stabbing a knife
- 47:42Speaker 1: in his back right now. Yeah.
- 47:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Nikki, uh, Jayden Daniels' mom is very much the, uh,
- 47:48Speaker 1: my son is my king. My son is my king.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I forgot what it's called. Epit, uh, Epitius? Epitius? Something
- 47:58Speaker 1: like that. Mm-hmm. No, it's a Greek.
- 48:02Speaker 6: It's a not a Greek. It's an old story. Like
- 48:06Speaker 6: what's it's one of Shakespeare's story.
- 48:11Speaker 1: You know, Corey, we're looking to that. Oh, man. Just
- 48:16Speaker 1: to wrap up the NFL talk, the Niners defeated the
- 48:18Speaker 1: terrible Dolphins 35 to 13. Niners 2-0. Seattle Seahawks defeated
- 48:23Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals 31-7. Jackson Smith in Jigba. Huge performance.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Might be back-to-back offensive player of the year at this point.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Another three touchdowns for JSN.
- 48:32Speaker 6: And can you believe some people in fantasy want to
- 48:34Speaker 6: trade this guy?
- 48:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Eric. What's wrong with you? Again, not here to
- 48:41Speaker 1: defend themselves. And the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Indianapolis
- 48:45Speaker 1: Colts 33-32. patrick mahomes back question mark question mark three
- 48:50Speaker 1: touchdowns for pat mahomes in primetime big win for the
- 48:53Speaker 1: chiefs kenneth walker leads the nfl entire nfl in total
- 48:57Speaker 1: yards their uh off-season acquisition uh defending super bowl mvp
- 49:02Speaker 1: with seattle.
- 49:03Speaker 6: So josh cool question what do you think it was
- 49:05Speaker 6: do you think it was a cat a dog or chicken.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Was that the chief sacrifice to get back on top?
- 49:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:13Speaker 1: No, actually, it might have been a human.
- 49:16Speaker 4: I think it was a Travis Kelsey.
- 49:18Speaker 1: No. No, because even.
- 49:21Speaker 6: No, he did some devil magic because even he's back
- 49:24Speaker 6: to old form.
- 49:25Speaker 4: Allegedly.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Travis Kelsey been looking... Yeah, he looked washed last year.
- 49:29Speaker 1: He's moving around. No, he got the wig of dance
- 49:32Speaker 1: moves again. I'm like, oh, wow. Even he's back. I'm like,
- 49:36Speaker 1: something ain't right here. It's not supposed to be like this.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Taylor Swift was like, that's my husband.
- 49:43Speaker 1: She was pointing to the ring. I'm like, yo, how
- 49:47Speaker 1: is he?
- 49:47Speaker 6: He had over 100 yards. I expected him never to
- 49:50Speaker 6: have a 100-yard game ever again.
- 49:52Speaker 2: He got a lot to prove with this Ponzi scheme.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Travis Kelsey. I'm new to this. What is
- 49:59Speaker 1: this Ponzi scheme? Oh, we're going to have to explain
- 50:02Speaker 1: that one off here, Corey. We don't want to snitch.
- 50:05Speaker 1: That'll do it for around the NFL brought to you
- 50:07Speaker 1: by the recess bell, man. Listen, a lot of fun
- 50:10Speaker 1: in the studio tonight with Nikki Marie. And listen, happy
- 50:16Speaker 1: to have Nikki Marie back in studio. It was a
- 50:19Speaker 1: great time. Sorry about your jets, but you know, they, uh,
- 50:22Speaker 1: tough game next week.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Got to go ahead and win that. I have faith
- 50:26Speaker 1: in them.
- 50:27Speaker 4: I have faith.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I have faith, but you know what? I don't have
- 50:31Speaker 2: faith in right now. My ability to win in my leagues.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you're 0-2 in the TRB invitation. What?
- 50:39Speaker 4: Why do you have to say that on air?
- 50:42Speaker 1: What? That'll be the note we leave off the show, Nikki.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Listen, I'm good with my other league. I just, I
- 50:53Speaker 2: blame you. You asked me last minute.
- 50:56Speaker 4: I blame you.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Hashtag blame Joshua. It's all good. I'm used to it.
- 51:00Speaker 1: On behalf of Corey David, on behalf of Nikki Marie,
- 51:02Speaker 1: this is Joshua Imahi signing off tonight's episode, September 23rd,
