- 0:00What do you get up to on the weekend Tony?
- 0:24I'm not going to lie, I don't want to talk about it.
- 0:27No, I've completely had enough.
- 0:29Oh, you're just talking straight to football.
- 0:31You're not talking about anything exciting that you might have done.
- 0:34Tony does that, doesn't he?
- 0:35But do you know what?
- 0:36You're talking straight to football.
- 0:37Yeah, but well, the boxing was crap.
- 0:41I didn't go well.
- 0:44And then on top of that, it's just a football.
- 0:46Just ruined me whole weekend.
- 0:48Yeah, me son didn't really play a game.
- 0:51He played the training game.
- 0:52They haven't.
- 0:53I'm a brilliant.
- 0:54Yeah, Paul got some well these days.
- 0:55But it's a training game and they don't really mean anything.
- 0:59So, you know, as he knows about that, when it comes to football, you know, he's turned up
- 1:03and training and I'm watching training every day.
- 1:04He's still trying to impress.
- 1:05He's still trying to make sure that he doesn't come away from any game.
- 1:08I know.
- 1:09Playing bad.
- 1:10So, playing well is still a training game.
- 1:12No, it's still a good thing.
- 1:13And it is still positive.
- 1:14You can only try and be the best you can be all the time.
- 1:17Every time you cross the white line zone, in any aspect of your life, when you're doing something,
- 1:21always be the best you can be.
- 1:23So, that is still a positive.
- 1:25Obviously, I understand.
- 1:26I understand the boxing and the football didn't go well enough.
- 1:33Definitely.
- 1:34I'm just sick of football.
- 1:35Disappointing money.
- 1:36I've had enough.
- 1:37I've had enough.
- 1:38Come on, I'm going to give you a moment now just to vent.
- 1:41I can see it.
- 1:42It's built up and you go on off you go.
- 1:45I'm just angry and fed up.
- 1:47I just can't believe they just done that.
- 1:49I can't believe it.
- 1:50How do you do what you've done to Manchester City?
- 1:54The best football team in the league.
- 1:56I don't care what anyone's opinion is.
- 1:58What you say, Manchester City played the best football in the league.
- 2:02When they're in full flow, they're unstoppable.
- 2:04And we went toe to toe with them and with three on up.
- 2:08And then we go against Sunderland who are playing absolutely dreadful.
- 2:14Not in any kind of form.
- 2:16And they come to our place and bounces.
- 2:18I need to take it.
- 2:21I just need to breathe.
- 2:22Because I'm angry even now.
- 2:24I went there.
- 2:25Went there with so much hope.
- 2:27And so much.
- 2:29I couldn't have a beautiful form manager.
- 2:32I couldn't have a coach because I would strangle people.
- 2:37I really would.
- 2:38What was the problem then?
- 2:39What was the problem?
- 2:40Because we've been in the coffee shop before Leon.
- 2:42And I'm asking him for him to give me just explain it.
- 2:45Please, because he's a player, like I said, I don't get it.
- 2:48So I will always ask you.
- 2:50You'll be the first person I'll ask when it comes to football.
- 2:52Him or Neil.
- 2:53And I just...
- 2:55Why Leon?
- 2:57How?
- 2:58How?
- 2:59There's no just definitive answer.
- 3:02Come on.
- 3:03Don't bail him out.
- 3:04No, I'm saying there's no definitive answer.
- 3:06Because I don't even think we got to really see a tactical setup.
- 3:10I don't think we got to see how we were sort of closing down
- 3:13and making any sense.
- 3:14Because we just kept giving the ball away.
- 3:16I've never seen so many misplaced passes and lacking of concentration
- 3:20and looking one way and kicking it the other by accident
- 3:23and heel passing them when you're not meaning to fall and over the ball.
- 3:27You notice it.
- 3:29There will be every single game there'll be passes given away.
- 3:32And every single game there'll be one player probably at minimum.
- 3:36That doesn't particularly play as well as he can.
- 3:39There were up to his usual standards.
- 3:41But in a team that can be sort of covered and you can...
- 3:45Damn, I'm not playing well today but I'll let me socks off
- 3:48and you can get covered within a team.
- 3:50When I think all 11 of them can't put a pass together
- 3:54and they're looking at each other and they want the world to swallow them up.
- 3:57That was across the board.
- 3:59I mean, when you're going to then games, in fact every game,
- 4:02but in them games you always want your best players to be playing really well.
- 4:06And that was probably the worst I've seen other than the Diplay.
- 4:10Arguably as bad as I've seen, Jews be whole play.
- 4:13But in product and decision making and in the crucial moments.
- 4:18And there you best players.
- 4:20And I get the feeling boys was considered and making changes
- 4:23and maybe even bringing them off until we conceded that second goal.
- 4:26And then now you need your best players on the pitch.
- 4:29Because they might still provide a moment of magic
- 4:32and it just didn't seem to be the case.
- 4:35People coming off the bench and not improving the team at all.
- 4:39Everything just seemed to go wrong.
- 4:41I know even when it was 1 mil.
- 4:43We were lucky to be 1 mil.
- 4:45I didn't think we deserved to be 1 mil up.
- 4:48But I thought, you know when you go 1 mil up,
- 4:51like I said before, when it comes to football,
- 4:54it's just an opinion that I've got.
- 4:56But at 1 mil, you don't deserve to be 1 mil up.
- 4:58You just go, do you know what lads?
- 5:00That's just bad down the edges.
- 5:02And just just drag something out of this
- 5:04because we ain't playing well.
- 5:06I mean, I just...
- 5:09I can't grasp how do you just fall apart?
- 5:13No, you're right.
- 5:15And you get in there 1 mil up a half time
- 5:17and you're looking around and go, well, we can't be anywhere.
- 5:20You think, let's knuckle down.
- 5:22Let's tell you what, we're obviously not playing well.
- 5:24So let's play in there half.
- 5:26Let's play the ball forward.
- 5:27Let's try and make sure that if we make mistakes
- 5:29it's at the top end of the pitch.
- 5:31That was the key thing.
- 5:33You can't then afford to make mistakes
- 5:35and give goals away.
- 5:37And that ball that came, Jacob Brown's really,
- 5:39I mean, it only just managed to get himself back on the pitch.
- 5:42But that was a really poor touch in a big moment.
- 5:45In our half, when we were exposed,
- 5:48when you're not playing well,
- 5:50you can't afford to do that.
- 5:52You've got to make mistakes at the top end of the pitch.
- 5:54And from that moment,
- 5:56you just felt we were never going to be able to recover.
- 5:58They were actually playing well.
- 5:59They were on the front foot.
- 6:01We couldn't get out of it.
- 6:02We had nobody that was able to get on the ball
- 6:04and sort of make things happen
- 6:05because everyone was given the ball away.
- 6:07So we were never going to recover from a crucial mistake.
- 6:10And I think we ended up making a couple more mistakes
- 6:12for the next few goals as well.
- 6:13So I just felt out of that.
- 6:15I remember speaking to the kids
- 6:17and a couple of other people.
- 6:19And I said,
- 6:20if we get the second year,
- 6:22you're only speaking to your own kids.
- 6:24Yeah.
- 6:25I'm a couple of other people who was around us.
- 6:28We're just rounding up kids.
- 6:30No, no, no.
- 6:31It's not that kind of party, Leon.
- 6:33Please stop at us.
- 6:35We're going to end up on a bad show.
- 6:37Don't do it.
- 6:38I feel bad enough as it is.
- 6:40So I'm speaking to the kids
- 6:41and a couple of other people.
- 6:42And I just thought,
- 6:44if we get the second goal,
- 6:45they'd use it down.
- 6:46I said, but I'll tell you something.
- 6:48If these get a goal,
- 6:49we're in a wilder show,
- 6:50because no one's had more points
- 6:52from being behind the games
- 6:54in the Premier League this season
- 6:55and so on.
- 6:56They've had more points
- 6:57and anyone from behind
- 6:58from coming from behind
- 6:59and I just thought,
- 7:00this is not good.
- 7:02And that goal went in
- 7:03and I just thought,
- 7:04the lads' edge went,
- 7:05I thought,
- 7:06they just looked so.
- 7:08I don't want to say no,
- 7:10because they were all still asking
- 7:12and wanting the ball.
- 7:13But what they would do with the ball
- 7:14just wasn't good enough.
- 7:15Yeah.
- 7:17I mean, we've,
- 7:19we've been a mixed bag at home
- 7:20really this season.
- 7:21And we've been,
- 7:22a couple of games
- 7:23where we've been
- 7:24really good,
- 7:25a couple of games
- 7:26where we've not really competed.
- 7:27It's, again,
- 7:28first season in our new stadium.
- 7:30Are we expecting
- 7:31to win every single week?
- 7:32No.
- 7:33We probably are, you know.
- 7:34Have you been honest with yourself?
- 7:35We go the game every single week.
- 7:37Yeah.
- 7:38And we probably think we're going to win.
- 7:39Or we expect to win every single week.
- 7:40I didn't.
- 7:41No, I just come on.
- 7:42Maybe not against City.
- 7:43Maybe not against Arsenal.
- 7:44We don't.
- 7:45Arsenal City.
- 7:46You're hoping in the dark.
- 7:47All the other games, I think,
- 7:48if we're honest with ourselves
- 7:49as a group of authorities,
- 7:50we go the game,
- 7:51we're going to win today.
- 7:52Yeah.
- 7:53But how do you go on from that City game?
- 7:54Against the best side,
- 7:55the best football team.
- 7:56You know,
- 7:57you're fighting with them
- 7:58to the nail.
- 7:59And every player is chasing everything,
- 8:00running everything
- 8:01and then plays quality on the ball.
- 8:02How'd you go from that
- 8:03to a week later, that?
- 8:05As a team, how'd you have that?
- 8:07That's my footballs.
- 8:09That's my footballs incredibly good.
- 8:11No, but as a team.
- 8:12So you've been a player.
- 8:14So football and quality,
- 8:15just my opinion is about,
- 8:17so everybody can play to a certain standard.
- 8:19They've got their own certain standards.
- 8:21So the top players will be outstanding
- 8:24or can get to certain levels better than the others.
- 8:27And then you'll have other players
- 8:29that can have a brilliant day
- 8:32and you'll think on that one day
- 8:33they can be good as anyone.
- 8:35Anyone.
- 8:36But the best players can do that every single week.
- 8:39Yeah.
- 8:40The other players can reach that standard on occasion
- 8:43but can't manage to do it every single week.
- 8:45Now, again, city on the, on the Monday.
- 8:47Yeah, to, uh, to a certain extent,
- 8:49most of our players were playing to a high level.
- 8:52But we can't consistently do that.
- 8:56And we can ask them to do it,
- 8:58but it's not expectant that players
- 9:01that we're able to get
- 9:03ready to perform at that level every single week.
- 9:06And as I said before,
- 9:08if you can have five or six
- 9:10that are playing OK and playing well,
- 9:12you can get through a game and you can mask it.
- 9:14And I can't tell you the amount of games
- 9:16where I might, or might not,
- 9:18I'm sorry, let's say I didn't play well,
- 9:20but it's all right,
- 9:21because P9 and Bains were playing really well there.
- 9:23And our tattoo and kale was gone.
- 9:25And you didn't notice that I wasn't playing well,
- 9:27but a lot of episodes may have not
- 9:28still wasn't playing very well.
- 9:29I might not have played well on that day.
- 9:31But then the next week,
- 9:32one of the other guys might have an off day
- 9:34and I might have a good day.
- 9:35And it's fine because there's enough of you as
- 9:37playing well on the team.
- 9:38And that's the thing I would say.
- 9:40Everybody in the team.
- 9:42Every person in that team
- 9:43would probably be able to turn around and say,
- 9:45I wasn't a big bad thing.
- 9:47I think this was a big thing.
- 9:49I'm OK.
- 9:50Missing him was a big thing.
- 9:51But then,
- 9:52I'll tell you what,
- 9:53I think what's massive,
- 9:55since he's come back from the African combinations,
- 9:57element and dives tied,
- 9:59because he's been absolutely amazing all season.
- 10:03And since he's came back from there,
- 10:05there's something wrong with the final product.
- 10:07And I think the final product comes down to
- 10:09your decision making
- 10:11and decision making gets affected through tightness.
- 10:14I think the absence of Jack as well,
- 10:16though, makes a difference within the eye,
- 10:17that Jack'll pull two players over
- 10:19and gives him a bit more space.
- 10:21Just a little bit.
- 10:22Jack sort of slept over there with the assistant
- 10:23this season.
- 10:24He hasn't been playing for a long time.
- 10:25I'm good.
- 10:26But three months.
- 10:27I've been boy.
- 10:28And then the fouls he creates us
- 10:29and he gets us,
- 10:30he's such a pivotal part.
- 10:31I was so much open,
- 10:32Dibbling was going to come in, you know.
- 10:34And you know when Jack,
- 10:35if the injury,
- 10:36I was just thinking,
- 10:37sonnage,
- 10:38this is his chance.
- 10:39Go and grab that shit and go,
- 10:40this is what I'm about.
- 10:42And it just doesn't work.
- 10:43I don't know why,
- 10:44but it's obviously the manager does believe
- 10:45in him and thinks there's a player in there,
- 10:46but what is it?
- 10:48Well, we just have to hope he's,
- 10:50he's a slow bearer.
- 10:51It's not well documented,
- 10:53but it's been made quite public
- 10:56and obvious that he's a shine reserve.
- 10:59I'm glad that he has character.
- 11:00That's just everybody's different.
- 11:01He's a more reserved character.
- 11:02He's going to find a move away from home.
- 11:06Tough remembered.
- 11:07He's like 19, 20 maybe.
- 11:09He's still a baby.
- 11:10I can't imagine your kid moving away
- 11:12from home across the country
- 11:13and being asked
- 11:16to a huge demands on his shoulders
- 11:18and expectation
- 11:19and you know,
- 11:20it's quality.
- 11:21But he hasn't been put on his shoulders
- 11:22really well because he hasn't started
- 11:23the empty game.
- 11:24And he hasn't been said,
- 11:25you've got to do this.
- 11:26I'm more wanting to see him go.
- 11:28Give me the chance.
- 11:29I'm more wanting to see him get on a pitch and go.
- 11:31Give me the ball.
- 11:32I just don't see players who are like
- 11:35I said this before,
- 11:36I said that Thiago plays for Brentford.
- 11:38He wants the ball.
- 11:39He's coming running out of the forwards
- 11:41and going, give me a,
- 11:42give me that.
- 11:43He's had a great season,
- 11:44but he's not played well every week.
- 11:45Last three weeks.
- 11:46No, no, no.
- 11:47Pretty average.
- 11:48I know, because I've got,
- 11:49let me find this elite team.
- 11:50It's not got me any actual points.
- 11:51It's been doing me.
- 11:52I did.
- 11:53I don't always see players these days
- 11:54like give me the ball.
- 11:55I want what I know.
- 11:56Can you just be always done with all season.
- 11:57Give me the ball.
- 11:58James Garner's done with all season.
- 11:59Man, Jack was getting the ball.
- 12:02Jack was getting the ball.
- 12:03Getting the two of players.
- 12:04And he was telling players,
- 12:05you're going to get where you go that way.
- 12:06Literally, while he had the ball at his feet,
- 12:08he's telling players where to go,
- 12:09as decoys or where he can go create space.
- 12:11I'm just not seeing enough from players
- 12:14and individuals who are quality.
- 12:15Look, this is always,
- 12:16this is always overemphasised
- 12:19on the back of a defeat.
- 12:21Let alone a really poor,
- 12:23disappointing defeat,
- 12:24which it was.
- 12:25So it's obviously,
- 12:26it's everything becomes even more massive.
- 12:29I think at most of the season,
- 12:30everyone else wanted the world.
- 12:31Again, city,
- 12:32everybody seemed to want the ball.
- 12:33Everyone was depressed.
- 12:34Everyone said to do this.
- 12:35Even though they were playing pretty poorly,
- 12:39amongst people still wanted the ball on Sunday,
- 12:42they just kept giving it away.
- 12:43That was the issue.
- 12:44When they got turned,
- 12:45they were quick enough in the feet to get the ball out.
- 12:47Sunderland played pretty well.
- 12:49Sunderland.
- 12:50That's exactly what I'm saying.
- 12:51We're good.
- 12:52Sacka was dictating in the middle
- 12:54of the pitch there,
- 12:55to the players as well.
- 12:56No.
- 12:57Robbie up front.
- 12:58Up front.
- 12:59Wow.
- 13:00He bullied Sacka by the way.
- 13:01By the way, yeah.
- 13:02Yeah.
- 13:03He did see the goal.
- 13:04Yeah. Good technically.
- 13:05Bounce some people physically off the ball,
- 13:07likes to run over the top.
- 13:08As the old drug moves in the sense of,
- 13:11can physically bully anyone
- 13:13when he wants to,
- 13:14but then if someone pushes him from behind,
- 13:16he's the weakest man on the pitch.
- 13:17Yeah.
- 13:18He's a special.
- 13:19He's got a little bit of all of that.
- 13:20He's strong.
- 13:21He's quick.
- 13:22He can move.
- 13:23So, yeah.
- 13:24He did do well.
- 13:25I think Michael Keen's been brilliant all season.
- 13:26Yes.
- 13:27I think we've got an abundance.
- 13:29I think we've got some good sense.
- 13:30That half is not the problem.
- 13:32It's obviously someone saying right back or whatever.
- 13:35Left back or whatever you want to think.
- 13:37I think Michael's being okay this season.
- 13:39Yeah.
- 13:40So he's been, he's been very good.
- 13:42So if you're looking to strengthen,
- 13:44you're hoping that we keep everybody in our team,
- 13:46which isn't always a given,
- 13:47but you hope we keep everyone in the team.
- 13:49And then we're looking at maybe both fullbacks,
- 13:53striker, maybe another goal score
- 13:56and actual wide man who's going to get you a 15-20 a season.
- 14:01Maybe something along the lines,
- 14:02but central midfield, we've got quite a few.
- 14:05Interesting.
- 14:06If we keep the last we do.
- 14:07If we keep all the jack.
- 14:09Yeah.
- 14:10I just think you need, you need a goal score.
- 14:13And you know what?
- 14:14I hate saying that because I fear
- 14:15for the legs to be in our body and battle.
- 14:17So especially it's been really good at certain times of season.
- 14:20And he's got his vital goals.
- 14:21Yeah.
- 14:22Same at the end or barrier times.
- 14:23But you need that constant threat.
- 14:25You need someone who, when he walks on the pitch,
- 14:27the other center asks,
- 14:28oh, this is a problem this.
- 14:30Yeah.
- 14:31And he's actually got goals.
- 14:32And in words,
- 14:33it's our forwards.
- 14:34I've got to get double figures.
- 14:35Yeah.
- 14:36And I think we will,
- 14:37we'll look at this though.
- 14:38Right?
- 14:39If we'd signed one center forward at the start of this season
- 14:43and they'd played,
- 14:46let's just say over 30 games,
- 14:4830 to 34 games,
- 14:50because I mean,
- 14:51they can't play every game in the season,
- 14:52but you can't always ask games I haven't told you.
- 14:54But let's say they play 34 games,
- 14:56and they got us 17 goals in a season.
- 14:59What would you be saying?
- 15:00Wow.
- 15:01If an Evan 4 comes in and get more than 15 goals,
- 15:05well, have it now in the top six?
- 15:07Well, Beto and Barry have rotated consistently all seasons.
- 15:11So if you pretend that they are one starting number nine,
- 15:14between them, they've got 17 goals.
- 15:15I know, but they're not.
- 15:16Oh, they don't know.
- 15:17But they have asked us.
- 15:18Let's just say that was what our strikers got 17 goals.
- 15:21Yeah, but that's two.
- 15:22It's not one.
- 15:23We've got 17 goals from that position this season.
- 15:26I know.
- 15:27I get your point.
- 15:28So now you actually need goals from elsewhere.
- 15:29Choose bills.
- 15:30Got eight brilliantly.
- 15:31Now we need it.
- 15:32You need to entire you got, I think nine last year.
- 15:34I don't think he's anywhere near that this year.
- 15:36I'm not sure we've got.
- 15:38We haven't got any goals from other side.
- 15:40So you do generally need.
- 15:43Got all over the pitch.
- 15:44Each center half score.
- 15:45Which they do.
- 15:46Yeah, they scored a couple of seasons, I think.
- 15:48They're Michael Keen's definitely scored a couple.
- 15:51But we have got goals from our center forward position.
- 15:54I know, but it's not as you need.
- 15:56You need.
- 15:57We need the talisman.
- 15:58Move it forward.
- 15:59We want a center forward that.
- 16:01A great sharp type.
- 16:03You know, for us, because that's the physical one,
- 16:06the one that wants to fight that is as physical as Beto and Barry.
- 16:10But it's got a really good first touch intelligence,
- 16:12bringer people into play.
- 16:13Anytime a cross goes in, you think you can come on.
- 16:15Here he is getting on the end of a big cross book and run.
- 16:18You want an all round center forward that.
- 16:21You know, we can all get excited about because Beto and Barry.
- 16:25I think I've done an okay job between them all season, but.
- 16:31There are certain levels that they'll get to.
- 16:33You know what I mean?
- 16:34And we want better.
- 16:35But the guy I've just described is either not out there anymore.
- 16:39Or costs 100 million.
- 16:41Even Tiago is not quite the player I've just described.
- 16:45Have we found someone else?
- 16:47Is it going to say we wanted him this summer?
- 16:49What are you looking at?
- 16:5060, 70 million to try and bring him away.
- 16:52If he scored 20 goals this year,
- 16:54then it's £100 million.
- 16:56Without a shadow.
- 16:57I've said, we are having Tony and R.T.
- 16:59I don't care who says what.
- 17:01I haven't Tony Stark, but every week.
- 17:02Everton and top six now.
- 17:04Because them draws attending to wins.
- 17:07Some of them losses attended to draws.
- 17:09It's quite simple.
- 17:10I don't know if he's the player.
- 17:12I don't know if he's the player.
- 17:13I mean, Brent forgot Beto.
- 17:14I don't even Tony remember.
- 17:15I know.
- 17:16But when the other mate, he was a monster.
- 17:18He was a goal machine.
- 17:19I mean, he's the best penalty.
- 17:20He's the best penalty.
- 17:21I think I've ever seen.
- 17:22Yeah.
- 17:23Although who's that?
- 17:24Just Ralph Jimenez has just become the official best penalty
- 17:27ticket by stats because he's never missed a penalty.
- 17:31So he's literally.
- 17:32He's took over 12 and he's the only one.
- 17:34Tony took like.
- 17:35Yeah.
- 17:3635 and miss one.
- 17:37Like like like Tisci did.
- 17:38Tisci did.
- 17:39Tisci did.
- 17:40He's a good one.
- 17:41But Ralph Jimenez at the minute on like 40 and a something.
- 17:45And I haven't missed one.
- 17:46So talking ever and still.
- 17:48We're talking full.
- 17:50But we obviously do need a right back.
- 17:52Shameless is leaving, which we'll get to in a second.
- 17:55Can't keep asking Jacob Brown to play there.
- 17:57Left back.
- 17:58Michael Enko.
- 17:59As new.
- 18:00Do you think anything about.
- 18:01About.
- 18:02Are we giving him a chance?
- 18:03Are we giving Diblin?
- 18:04Diblin has a new country over the summer.
- 18:06Just get physical.
- 18:07Grow physically and I'm ready for the team.
- 18:10There's potential two players that.
- 18:12Yes, we obviously bought into the team.
- 18:14But we haven't had.
- 18:15We haven't had.
- 18:16There's no one.
- 18:17We bought.
- 18:18I think we paid 10 million.
- 18:19We played 10 million.
- 18:20Okay.
- 18:21So you're putting a baby.
- 18:22And you're buying for the future.
- 18:23Which I don't necessarily like at a club like ours.
- 18:26I understand it because it works.
- 18:27A born with it.
- 18:28I think.
- 18:29I think you have to have times nowadays because of the price
- 18:31that.
- 18:32That you.
- 18:33That you have to pay.
- 18:34We waited.
- 18:35Let's just say another year.
- 18:36Need.
- 18:37I don't know the other.
- 18:38And we wanted to buy him.
- 18:39He'd be 28.
- 18:40There's obviously potentially.
- 18:41You don't go to buy him, you know, for nothing.
- 18:42So there's obviously potential there.
- 18:43But did you see him walking around the pitch at the end of the game?
- 18:45I felt sorry for him.
- 18:46He was.
- 18:47Just felt like he was on his own.
- 18:48And he had no family.
- 18:49Which you don't when you.
- 18:5019 living away from home.
- 18:51But he wasn't walking around with any of the other teammates.
- 18:54He was just walking around with like a bit.
- 18:56Looking.
- 18:57I just look very sad.
- 18:58Yeah.
- 18:59I think the latter.
- 19:00I think the lads were all flat after the game.
- 19:02Oh, definitely.
- 19:03And Sunday and everyone's had enough.
- 19:04And I feel ashamed because, you know, ideally you want to send off that decretion and go
- 19:10out of let's go.
- 19:11They're the ones you want for them.
- 19:12But ultimately.
- 19:13They've got to be performing better.
- 19:15And the books.
- 19:16And I'm certainly saying it.
- 19:18But I'll say again.
- 19:19The book stops at the place.
- 19:20I hear some of the people talking about them.
- 19:22All honesty.
- 19:23No, the book does stop with the manager.
- 19:25There's no doubt about it.
- 19:26You can't.
- 19:27We'd both like to love David Moise.
- 19:29We can't pretend the book doesn't start with the manager.
- 19:31It does.
- 19:32No, it does.
- 19:33But the performance on the pitch is the players.
- 19:34He picks it to him.
- 19:35And that team was more than good enough.
- 19:36If we were beat Sunday.
- 19:37If we were.
- 19:38If we were doing certain things and we got completely don't tactically then yet.
- 19:42100%.
- 19:43We'd be turning.
- 19:44But players couldn't robust together.
- 19:45That makes it.
- 19:46That makes it more difficult.
- 19:48But.
- 19:49Were you disappointed?
- 19:50Were you disappointed?
- 19:52The amount of people in the stadium.
- 19:53Yeah.
- 19:55That's what it was for shade mrs uh and then i was disappointed when.
- 20:12Four shames for most and then secondly i was disappointed for.
- 20:16Fams coming out.
- 20:17I'm monitoring.
- 20:18And thinking,
- 20:19Howz you possibly have a god.
- 20:20The manager after what we've just done again.
- 20:21out, but ultimately frustrated though, I understand the frustration, not necessarily, I'd not
- 20:26say and I agree with it, I don't, but I understand the frustration because of the word hope.
- 20:32So if we hope, yep, that's what I mean. So if we'd have been 14th-ish or season, not
- 20:38quite involved in the relegations all but never quite getting forward and we ended up
- 20:42with an 11th with one game to go, everyone to go, wow, that was, you know, we're quite
- 20:47happy because of the run we went on in the middle of the season and because we were in a real
- 20:52good position to get into Europe, that weird hope came. And it's still possible now because
- 20:57we've just gone six, but we've gone six games now without a win in the crucial moment
- 21:01of the season. There's the frustration every single week we're trying to keep this hope
- 21:06and yesterday, Sunday was basically hope disappearing because one game to go away at Spurs,
- 21:13we are in the lead. We need all the results to forward us. Yeah, and realistically, we're
- 21:18not going to get into Europe now. So that's where all the frustration came because that was
- 21:24the last of our hope. And if we'd have gone back to the start of the season and said, you've
- 21:29finished 11th at the end of the season, everyone would have gone, yes, put your hope killed,
- 21:32hope killed, yeah, put yourself in one of them players shoes and that was you on the pitch
- 21:36on Sunday and you've got to gather with you when he was with you. Yeah, what's he doing,
- 21:41making that impression? And what is he, is he, is he using him on the, and he's a woman?
- 21:46No, not, not after that. And just because of the situation we're in now being, it's one
- 21:51game to go. It would have been just a bit, it would have been anger, it probably been anger
- 21:56at half time. I'd have been going and telling him, I've got a tight tummy, get me off and all
- 22:00that in the moments. Now I wouldn't really. You were a warrior, you were fighting till the end,
- 22:05don't do that. But would he have, would he have gone, would he have been, he must be furious?
- 22:11Yeah, but I, I'm obviously not in the dressing room anymore, no, but you know him, but, yeah,
- 22:16put your, I don't, yeah, you've done, you haven't, I've done this for years now. Okay. So the reason
- 22:21I'm sort of not quite saying, he would have been different to ask where the players, then he
- 22:27probably has to be to this where the players. So I'm telling you, yeah, he would have gone in,
- 22:31I've been madder as a half time and shouted and tried to get a reaction out of his,
- 22:34you've been, I'm not sure, I'm not sure you can do that with this squad, but I think it's
- 22:38still more an arm around them and a coaxing. Come on, of course, please, come on.
- 22:42But show me your shamelessest last game. Say, come on, lads, is this last game?
- 22:44Come on, no, it would have been, it would have been shameless to stand in their right,
- 22:50rant and rage in everyone. I'm pretty sure, telling people to just, you've been in this,
- 22:54you've been in this exact position. We're fighting for your two games to go. What did he scream
- 22:58and shout at you? Because I know it's a different set of plays, older lads who can take it on board.
- 23:03These days, they need Molly Cudland, they need fucking a massage, a e-girl masseuse, a manager can't
- 23:09just be a manager. Molly Cudland. Molly Cudland. Molly Cudland. It is still in it. There's no way
- 23:14it was Molly Cudland all used. I've seen, I knew all used, he would ballact him and he'd demand
- 23:19the best on them. I get it, it's kids running kids, but as he must, well, you with the
- 23:24in in this position, I'm trying to think of what, yeah, usually in this position. It's a couple of
- 23:27games to go, y'all depends on the life. Loads at times? Exactly, so tell me what he said.
- 23:33Mate, just 10 minutes ago, I couldn't remember which mate you were talking about last week.
- 23:38I can't remember, it is exactly where it's from. You know when you've been, you know when you've
- 23:42been born. On the, yeah, quite regular, to be honest. All there was some sort of bug, and he liked
- 23:48coming in the dressing room and either seeing us arguing or him having an argument with someone
- 23:52else and getting on any, you know, any walk out the dressing room would be quite pleased with,
- 23:56with what happened in there, because it might ride all those up. I just don't know if that's
- 24:01happening with, with this squad of players at the moment, but it's all about trying to find
- 24:06a way of focusing the team. Maybe, I mean, this is the first time for a long time that we've been
- 24:12in any position to achieve something successful at the end of the year. Maybe him and the players,
- 24:18I've actually learned a bit about themselves this season. Maybe Moe's has done well and will
- 24:23remember exactly what he did to get us into the position, but now we'll look back and go, well maybe
- 24:28at that point, I did need to, and I don't know what's happened in the dressing room, but maybe he'll
- 24:31look back and go at that point, I probably should have gone for them, been a bit angry with them in
- 24:36that point, or maybe I should have done this different, or maybe there was, sort of, on that,
- 24:40because no doubt that in this crucial moment, I mean, the draw to Brentford wasn't the end of the
- 24:45world, to use me whole probably had a good chance to put us ahead before he eventually equalised
- 24:51later, but that felt, I think that felt like a good point if I'm being completely honest, the way
- 24:56at Brentford, the way they were going, losing the Derby was a, was a big one, should have done better
- 25:01in that, we should have been two, three, nilup after 25 minutes, and we're not putting them
- 25:06opportunities away, lose late stupidly, obviously drop points against City, drop points against Palace,
- 25:13these are all, there was another one in Chelsea, Chelsea was the last win we got, three, nil,
- 25:20so I just think that we've let a lot of points slip away in their moments, and you look at
- 25:26that the performances weren't particularly bad in there, we've not been done in any of them,
- 25:30do you think we're ready for your,
- 25:32yeah, and I know that's going to seem strange, I'm going to say it and I think probably
- 25:42said yourself a couple of months back, no, I don't think we're ready for your, but it'd be best
- 25:45another season, it's too big a jump, but we're a, well, a well-known name around World Football,
- 25:54we just probably need the world of football to realise we're back on the up,
- 25:59getting in European football, may do that, then you get players in, because I actually think look,
- 26:04if you're looking at your squad, if you're going to handle European football, you need two players
- 26:08in every position, so if you think about the squad we've got now, we've got four centre halves,
- 26:13really, we'd need at least two right backs, we could potentially have two left backs in
- 26:17if I was going to use kicking on, you've got, you've got enough centre midfielders, you've got enough
- 26:21wide men, we'd probably need an extra striker and maybe another number ten, so we'd need
- 26:26four, four players at the most, yeah, squad wise, I'm not talking about quality wise or what
- 26:32noise likes in his team or what the manager wants and where he sees the improvement coming in,
- 26:37but just actual players, we'd need three, maybe, it just breaks my heart when I see,
- 26:42so they're not as far away from having a squad as you think, breaks me out when I see
- 26:45English football is running Europe, the Champions League final is Arsenal, the Europa League final
- 26:51is Villa, and the conference league is Palace, we have a question for you, we can put you in
- 26:58the event and find we're just swathed where to be a Palace fan, I don't think we're in the FA Cup
- 27:02last year, they are a European final, they're a bit a little bit lower than us, would you not swathed
- 27:05for us? Would I swathed for you? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not to be a Palace fan.
- 27:09No, thank you, we're best of Palace, that's what I'm saying, yeah, I have a Palace fan.
- 27:14You mean like in terms of Palace of Wath's 14th at the minute, but then we're in the FA Cup last
- 27:19season. That's a little bit lower than the league. Yeah, of course, we did that league.
- 27:22Exactly, so why can't we obtain them? I know, we just want to win something, I'm sick of it,
- 27:28we poor kids and I'm witness nothing. I feel like you're blaming me personally, yeah, I can
- 27:32feel you're looking at me and I'm not prepared to turn, I'm not going to, I'm not looking back at
- 27:37them, I'm going to spend a great time with them. Tell me when you stop staring at me. You've
- 27:40got us to Europe, he's been brilliant, you know, he's played X amounting in, but it's not,
- 27:44it's the point of, you're right when you say you got us. No, it was, it was always the other 10
- 27:48people around me. Better than Palace, I don't care what they say, yeah, Palace fans say what
- 27:52you want, but we're better than you with a bigger club than you, why are we in, you know, we should
- 27:57be in Europe now, we should be, we should be going into this last game, going Europe secured,
- 28:01lads. You're right, but it's the hope to kill you and maybe we weren't ready. Look, this time
- 28:05last year we were, when boys came in, we were fighting relegation and we have been for the last
- 28:10few years. So look, in the last what, 18 months, we've got new owners, we've got a new stadium,
- 28:17we've got a new manager, we've now got, I would suggest we've signed some real exciting players,
- 28:25Grealist Jews, we all in particular to take us forward, other players around them, the corners
- 28:29and that have, I've really stepped up. So actually, if we can, if we can take a step back,
- 28:35which I know it's not easy to do in the moment because of the hope, but we've made great strides
- 28:40in the last 18 months as a club, we made great strides. So in another 18 months, if we can be
- 28:46patient, which again, it's never easy. In another 18 months, if we made the strides that we are,
- 28:52we'll absolutely be in, in Europe. We'll absolutely have made our new stadium a difficult place
- 28:58for every team to come and you get back to what we generally do, if the 19 games will win 12,
- 29:05rather than, you know, we'll lose for three or four maybe and draw the others, you do the maths
- 29:12on that. So we'll be in a great position for it. If we make the strides, we have to appreciate
- 29:18how far we've come and football is not, not an easy game in terms of all the moving parts of it
- 29:25on the pitch, all the moving parts off the pitch, getting sponsorships, getting the lounges
- 29:30working, understanding that where the revenue is coming from, everything that brings up a football
- 29:34team. I think that's not easy. These owners epitomised that. These owners are a proper business,
- 29:40when they know what they're doing from that side of the things. I think the most important thing
- 29:43now for the Freaklands is back David Moise. He brought him in. He's done a fantastic job from
- 29:50the position he got us in last year in a relegation fight to getting us up the table to mid-table this
- 29:55season, fighting for Yorah and he's the goal we've added. We've done this, we've done that.
- 30:01He does a favour. Let him have a goal. Let him pick the rewards. Let the manager identify the
- 30:06targets that he wants and go and get them because that's all we're missing now. It's the final
- 30:12touches to make Evan a top-8 team again. I think once you get into that top-8, you don't know
- 30:19what can happen. Once you're in and amongst that top-8, you're right around them. Two wins can get
- 30:23you into the top five and that's what you're seeing this season. This has been, in my opinion,
- 30:28one of the most exciting seasons in the Premier League history. You can go up and you can go down,
- 30:34from the title race as being just so good to watch every team slipping. They're all slipping
- 30:40at different times and against weaker teams. Anyone can beat anyone we've seen. I just think
- 30:46now is the time, if ever, for Evan to really strike while he ends up back to the manager and
- 30:52go and get the people he actually wants because I think it's on the manager then. I think
- 31:00managers live and die by the decisions that they make in the transfer market. He live and die
- 31:05by his silence and David Moise is reigning Evan the first time. He don't relate with them.
- 31:12He knows what makes him never to play, doesn't he? Exactly. He knows what he knows. He knows
- 31:16a style of play he wants. Now I'm not saying a director of a bus shouldn't because he will do
- 31:19and any of you know his job, of course he does, but no one knows his job if he's in David Moise
- 31:27and I just feel back and 100%. How do you think the club move forward without Shamus now in terms
- 31:33of what he's brought over the last 17 years? I think it's quite simple that Taki steps up and I think
- 31:43Taki's been brilliant by the way. I think he's a leader. I see him amongst the lads. He's a voice
- 31:49he's respected heavily, but Shamus going is a big thing. It's just the whole
- 31:56presence he has around the club. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not going to, that's
- 32:02irreplaceable, but there's a number that's other staff leaving that we've seen that come out.
- 32:06Call me. Yeah, you know, just there's other lads and it was that game in Eminable.
- 32:11They just, do you call them loot tenants at the club? I was ironed up to that.
- 32:19He was never a generally little shit.
- 32:24They're just, the people who get the club and did that link between the fans and it's
- 32:32hard to explain, but Shamus, you're from the city, you're living the city, you're amongst
- 32:37the lads. I think that lads who come in definitely brought into everything, didn't he?
- 32:41Yes, he literally brought into the culture, to the club, to living in Liverpool, to be in
- 32:48the city, to everything that the club could give him. He took it and made it part of his life as
- 32:57well. I mean, again, I can't talk highly enough of Shamus. I would have liked that to have been
- 33:03a full stadium for him to do his lap of wandering. I could see it in his face, the disappointment.
- 33:08But I also know I was well, because I was so quite just being on the bench, looking at him.
- 33:13He was more upset about the result. I could tell he was more, he wouldn't have been bothered
- 33:18if he didn't get on. He wanted to have it to win his last game. And he was in his face, he seemed
- 33:23as upset about that. Yeah, then anything else, then anything else. So his lap of honor was
- 33:29was what it was. We all stayed. We family on the other side all stayed to wish him all the best.
- 33:35But we also stayed for Jimmy Coleman to come out and have his little, of his little moment with
- 33:40this staff on the pitch's daughter. And his wife would behind us, Jodie and Donna screaming.
- 33:48And then wishing their dad all the best, which was brilliant. But yeah, I wanted to stay in
- 33:53and clap Jimmy, because he's been a huge pal. He's been, he's, he could be as, or has been
- 33:59as influential behind the scenes at times as shameless. In terms of, you know,
- 34:04remind of people of what the club is and keeping the culture together and keeping the history
- 34:09present, if you know what I mean. And and all of that. And he'll have a huge, I'm out of respect.
- 34:14From the staff, from the ladies and staffs, or another one who's, it's just, I don't know, it's just
- 34:20still. And I understand time is when it's just having your loot, big characters like that. But
- 34:25Shameless, I mean, I'm in the first time I'm in Shameless, I'm in the first coming up around the
- 34:29lads. And he's a, he's a footballer. It's like he, he's, he feels so privileged. He can't believe it.
- 34:37He comes, he comes in. He's like, he can't believe it. He's an easier professional footballer. And
- 34:41he has that, and you, you feel that from him every day that he's there. And it's just mad.
- 34:46Like, I think for someone like Shameless, coming from Slaggle, he understands what it was like.
- 34:51And I don't think that's ever left as mad. About sufferers at a different place. You know,
- 34:56things, little things like you to keep being ready. I think he feels like he should be doing that.
- 35:01It's just, it's how he comes across. And now, I don't want to use the word humble because I just
- 35:06believe everyone should be that no one's special. He should, he's got a kick in a ball. But he's
- 35:10just, he reminds you so much. I mean, him sitting next to me, similar. We were talking before
- 35:16about things that I've, I've got my mind sticks would say in things. And remember the first time
- 35:22being a Finch Farm, I'm going in. And I had a Gillette shower bag. And it was one of them Christmas
- 35:26specials that you get. And the, and I walked in the gesture and I was getting the ice bath
- 35:30and I put my shower bag there and I was walking. And obviously I've got the night flip flop.
- 35:34The wall got these fancy flip flops on and the wall got these like, I never, super remember, I get to
- 35:39that. I've got the wall got these super, he's super wash bags. And I'm talking like these are
- 35:44a grander piece. These wash bags, some of them at times. And I just thought, wow, this, the way
- 35:50you were the standard that the roller only as he was bringing his stuff in in a plastic bag.
- 35:54You know, I've, I've, I've, I've related to who he reminds you of with a plastic bag. But
- 35:58any scouts who's listening to this, you all know, carries the stuff in a plastic bag and walks
- 36:02down. That was Leon. He's that way. He's not with us. He's gone now, but it doesn't matter. He
- 36:08walked down on the plastic bag. Leon's blew it up now. He's all known with his big pips.
- 36:13But as I said, you got yours. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you, you offered to buy me a bag outside
- 36:20just before we came because we, he doesn't even bring the memorabilia in and I bring them in
- 36:25and in a carrier bag, Tony suggested he go out and buy me a bag. I said, you know, he's already
- 36:30bought yet talking wash bags. So I used to bring my, I think my arm was like a similar to yours.
- 36:36I didn't actually have a carrier bag. I was just funny for Tony willing. So,
- 36:40but I've, at some point, yeah, AJ and the Johnson went, oh, you can't keep bringing your stuff
- 36:45in that bag. Yeah. I'm going to get you a school bag. AJ brought,
- 36:50AJ bought me a wallet. Not new to me. Baris me and I was like, oh, okay, cheers. Thanks,
- 36:57me. Thanks for, and honestly, I've still got it today. Good luck. It's never broke. It was made
- 37:03out of good stuff. It still does the exact same job. Well, anyway, it's not a taking special.
- 37:07It's that only a real one. Nope. So what else is up in this week anyway? Yeah. That's a good
- 37:11long rant on everything. Yeah. Let's have a little look to the weekend. Come on, you got the
- 37:15relegation bottle. You got the, who's going to win the league? I think it's all from Pepsi now.
- 37:19So he's a, he's leaving city. Oh, yeah. Where'd he was? Yeah. When was that? This morning. I was
- 37:23waking up last night, actually. I was, oh, that is so sad. It is. It's not good. You need
- 37:31the best manager. You know, if this area to stay in the Premier League, where's he going to go?
- 37:35Glad to see you've been right up doing his own work before. Some of us were waking till very,
- 37:43very late. I mean, I got back. I was in London. You're still doing that with show called The Wheel.
- 37:47I got back and I was that tired when I picked up a baby from wrestling and then just went home
- 37:52and went to bed. I was in bed for like half an hour. I'm glad you had a nice time while the
- 37:55Wheel survived. You did the wheel. Well, that's not talking about it. Mark and Ty, you as usual.
- 38:03I think people, I'm letting people take the piss too much lately, you know, because if Michael
- 38:08Mark and Ty can have a problem with me and you're constantly having a problem with these little
- 38:10people. I don't have too many pops at me. I'm letting it go. I'm letting it go. I'm letting it go.
- 38:16I'm going to have to start young people. What I'm really about again. And if I fucking let these
- 38:19others go, I'll be on top of it. So you better start picking us up when you don't fucking
- 38:24size. You'll think, you'll swing over the top about that. You worry. I'm not going to catch you
- 38:28fucking head. I'm actually, you know, I'll catch something. But I just, I just, I'm, yeah, I'm basically,
- 38:34I can't believe I've got the oldest. Yes. So, there's bad looks like he's going to go. I mean,
- 38:40where's he going? And he hasn't announced where he's going yet. He's just going to retire and
- 38:44they're talking on the size of relief city and they're talking. Enzo Morescar is going to be
- 38:49cities. How can you have aired that? If you haven't heard, I've not, I've heard that he was
- 38:55always in replacement for Pep anyway. I've heard that before. I mean, fair, let's start with this
- 39:01fair play to Pep Guardiola. I mean, he's not just been a manager. He was one trophy. He's changed.
- 39:08He's been a manager and a person that has left a proper imprint on football in terms of
- 39:14everyone wants to try and set up like Pep. Everyone wants to try and be Pep Guardiola. He's left
- 39:21a change again. He's left a mark in the same way. His, his mentor was Yoan Kruth. He's always
- 39:30said. And he's left the biggest influencers as Kruth did by making that Kruth turn up. You know,
- 39:36he's not just one title everywhere. He's gone. He's literally changed the face of football within
- 39:41that country and with the way teams play it and false nines and playing up in the back goalkeepers
- 39:48have got to be good on the ball and all these different aspects of football that have now
- 39:53spread throughout throughout all the league. Everybody league two and league one and championship
- 39:58national league teams all want to play out in the back of the way like Pep and you're like,
- 40:03change the identity of our ball in this country. Yeah, we're single and I'm sick of everyone
- 40:08going into Pep's shoulder. No, no, no, no one's signing to play like Pep. He's playing the way he
- 40:12wants to play and people are seeing how successful you can be playing that way, but it doesn't mean
- 40:16that you can't. I mean, Arteta doesn't play like Pep and his, and now people are blaming the
- 40:21culture. He plays a variation. He plays a variation so you can see that he's worked with Pep and
- 40:26you can see the wide men and set positions and running that, but in a very positive way to
- 40:32Mikkel, he's also made, he's also been influenced by Ars and Venger and David Moise and you can see
- 40:39he's bringing all that to his game, which is Pep's never, which is what you take, you take
- 40:43the best things that you've learned and you mash them together with your own principles and
- 40:48vert up Mikkel, he's done that. I've never seen Pep as negative as Mikkel.
- 40:52Not as team set up like that. I've never, listen, I'm not going to knock Arsenal because they're
- 40:57brilliant side and Mikkel's done an amazing job, but there's been times this season when they've
- 41:01set up to scored just three kicks. They haven't even gone for the game in some games. Yeah, it might
- 41:06not be pleasing on the eye and people are saying, oh, and I'm not on our side winners to title to be
- 41:10won by teams doing that, but I'm giving credit to Mikkel. Because it's finding a way.
- 41:15Brilliant? It's because you've just said that you don't want, you've just said that it's not
- 41:20Pep Guardiola. I thought everybody can choose to do it. Mikkel has chose to do a different one.
- 41:24Definitely. I'm not giving him credit. I'm actually giving him credit because all
- 41:29of me cop-like mates absolutely despise Mikkel. Besides knowing that he's a boss fellow which he is,
- 41:35he's a great lad, but it's brilliant what he's done because he's changed every, he's not going,
- 41:40I'm just playing Pep's way. I'm going to do things my way and I'm going to show that I can be Pep
- 41:44in different ways. Yeah, he's doing it so far this season. So they might end up having to bring
- 41:48some sort of new legislation in with regards to corners and defending and when the whistle goes and
- 41:53stuff like that because they're pushing boundaries now. Yeah. You might say that's pushing boundaries
- 41:57in a negative way, but it's finding loop holes to score and I mean you don't follow the NFL,
- 42:03I follow the NFL and Philadelphia Eagles did this push push which nobody could stop it and they're
- 42:09not sure if it's illegal and now they were trying to bring in rules because we're not sure we can
- 42:13allow this to go but they're not doing anything wrong officially but we can't, we can't manage to
- 42:18referee that bit of the game properly and that's basically where else are they've pushed boundaries
- 42:22to get an advantage and they do it better than everyone else. It's not always enjoyable to watch.
- 42:29I don't care what they want to do, I mean like I said what Pep Guardiola has done in this country
- 42:35is phenomenal and I'm not going to lie, I don't think you'll see a rain like it again in our
- 42:40lifetime, I don't think you'll see the league, did you win four times in a row? I don't think you'll
- 42:44see that done again in our lifetime, no one's going to win the league four times on the bounce
- 42:48in my opinion. It was the first time, it was three times in a row was the one that united for us.
- 42:54I would expect something from the three times in a row but City the broke boundaries that
- 42:57changed football in this country now forever but I think it's good when you see managed it like
- 43:04the best thing for me is David Moise isn't trying to play the Pep Guardiola team. We've got
- 43:09an identity to our team now under David Moise but I feel we're revolving door with the managers
- 43:13over the last decade. I've seen managers try and play like Pep and you haven't got the person
- 43:19now, it sticks out like it's just it isn't good. So do you think where do City go from here,
- 43:25do they sustain the run at the top with the new manager who will try and... No he's from the
- 43:31Pep Guardiola school, that's why. We're as good, he worked under him didn't he at City and that's
- 43:35one of the reasons they'll probably try and bring him in, they'll show me the job I think to keep
- 43:40the same. Do you think they'll stay the same because I think City's hierarchy have got to get this
- 43:46right in terms of Liverpool are having a difficult season now, yes they won the title last season
- 43:51but in my opinion because Liverpool had Jürgen Klopp as their manager was playing this all action
- 43:57football and all of this all running round all intense and heavy metal there you go. Salas just
- 44:05come up and said this week hasn't he and criticised another little shot. Yeah, no problem in my eyes,
- 44:12well done. No fair play. No, I wouldn't agree to that. He's entitled to me. Of course he is,
- 44:16but I agree to have a player. But in my opinion, although Liverpool won the title last year and I've
- 44:21talked about the similarities to Roberto Martinez in our time but the Liverpool hierarchy just
- 44:28went and got on a slot because he was probably one of the best reputation and managers around.
- 44:32But his actual style of football that he likes to play is nothing like Jürgen Klopp's. So
- 44:39what would Liverpool's hierarchy be expected because he's not going to morph his football into
- 44:45Jürgen Klopp's, he's going to change his football into what it is now. So Liverpool fans,
- 44:49and now you've seen it, shouldn't be surprised that Liverpool play like this now because this is our
- 44:53Arla Slots team's play, that's our team's play. So is this Arla Slots fault? Is this the
- 45:00Liverpool's hierarchy's fault for change? They didn't find it at the time when they should have
- 45:04the numbers, found who, there's the most similar manager out there to Jürgen Klopp and tried to
- 45:09bring him to the football club. And who would you say that is a glass net? Is it the other
- 45:12thing? Is it any older? They're the ones who play similar to Klopp maybe? Because it's a tag
- 45:16and football. I just think the top and bottom of it is, when you talk about Liverpool,
- 45:20their mother's two fellas have got to be called football. They brought in slot, they knew that
- 45:24they will have known everything about the mother's two fellas and Andrews and whatever the other name
- 45:29is. I don't have to look at their eye, actually. I'm only joking. I'm the same, but
- 45:34them two fellas in charge of Liverpool, they chose slot. Because then they, the owners of Liverpool
- 45:39football club, let's be brutally honest here, the all not many different franchises, not many
- 45:43different clubs that you really think they know everything about football, the higher people to do a
- 45:48job, they're interested in the economics and the money side of football, the business side of
- 45:53football, the higher people to do jobs. So the book stops with the two most important people of
- 45:58the club and that in my opinion is that Edwards and Andrew, whatever the names are, them two fellas.
- 46:02So they are as culpable as anybody else that club for slots. Now, every Liverpool fan is
- 46:07winched at this football, even when they won the league last season, by the way, it's going to say,
- 46:10don't forget, you did win the league and then there's a couple of changes at first. But they were
- 46:14winching now, they won the league, but their style of football, it's not what these, this generation
- 46:19of Liverpool fans have been used to watch. But do you want to get to see? Do you want to play in
- 46:22this football? They're all winching now because a variation of this football, because they were
- 46:27still, they were still mentally playing this heavy metal football to start with last season. It was
- 46:32just that what on a slot was bringing in every time you go forward, you don't have to keep doing
- 46:37this heavy metal football, especially if you're one or two now, look, get up there and then just
- 46:41keep the ball near to the box, wear them down. Whereas they now get to the edge of the box and
- 46:45keep the ball and don't have a shot or don't make calls, don't lose the shoot from the edge of the
- 46:49box. Gakpo has 20 shots again. One thing I'll say about slot is if he does stay, which I'm a bit
- 46:55reluctant to say if he does already does and all the back in him and all the sounds say that he's
- 46:59staying, if he does stay, if he gets off to a bad start in the first five games, he'll be gone.
- 47:04Oh yeah, definitely. First five games, he'll have five games to show. I've got as far as say 10,
- 47:08but yeah, I agree with that. I think the time on now, the fans have already made the decision on him.
- 47:13And then as for Meresco going in at City, I think you'll really be respected enough in terms of,
- 47:20he won't have the power. That's what I mean is. No one's going to have the powerpepper. No,
- 47:23I think he's more powerful. Especially because stones and Bernardo Silver are going
- 47:29and they will have been in the same way, James. They're huge influences on the dressing room.
- 47:33So you lose the manager and you lose your big sort of influences and you've got a younger
- 47:39manager. He's not young, but in his in his 10 years done less than he's done. Chelsea,
- 47:44he said he failed the Chelsea, although he won the club world cup. Is he going to be, is he going
- 47:49to have the same? So I think he's the one that Chelsea, I think he's the one that Chelsea,
- 47:53I just think he stepped. He challenged the hierarchy. Once you challenge that hierarchy
- 48:00and a football club, if you don't have the power of a Pep Guardiola or only Micheal and Pep Guardiola
- 48:06are the only two managers in the league that can question the hierarchy of their club and get away
- 48:10with it. Everyone else is up. Everyone else is on senderux. You cannot question the hierarchy of
- 48:15your club. Any other manager, I don't get who it is. The not possible. Only Pep and I only
- 48:20Pep and Micheal can get away with that. And I think when Mariska goes in there, he's going to find
- 48:25out and I'll tell you right now, I think the most important player that Mariska has to win over
- 48:30and the player that can win it all and change it all for him is full folding. I think if he gets
- 48:35full folding on side, that boys the difference from Manchester City because when that boy is on the
- 48:41ball, he has every single thing you can imagine. He's got a bit of a nod or silver in him,
- 48:45he's got a bit of dabbid silver in him, he's got a bit of Kevin De Bruyne in him. If you can put
- 48:48that kid as that's my man, that's the boy I'm placing all my trust in you, City or Rain again.
- 48:54You could do. And then they can talk to the hierarchy. Well, I can't say.
- 49:01When you're from Skenn, you can get away with these words. But when you're a scout set and a
- 49:06punchy one at that, the hierarchy, it's a struggle. I'm not going to lie. It's a struggle.
- 49:21And I think you've actually think you made a good point there with Phil Fowell. You get people
- 49:25like that on side. You've given a long-term contract. Congratulations to Pep and City, that will
- 49:30be well done to them. I don't think you're going to win the title. I think I'm not even sure they
- 49:38get a result against Bournemouth. So when by the time this comes out, generally Thursdays,
- 49:43isn't it? No. City might have lost against Bournemouth, so it might be done. But I think City
- 49:48will win the next two games, especially in our peps, come on and set that. You think so? Yeah,
- 49:52I so I don't know what to do. We've also got Crystal Palace away. That's the last game.
- 49:59So do play the 37 now. Palace might be a heads on the final.
- 50:02The Palace of Final. The Europa Final and the Wednesday after it. Is this the Sunday's it?
- 50:07That's the Wednesday game. Oh, that's not good. So you'd think Palace of Rest and Players and
- 50:13I think it's wrong. The way the cup finals have all been brought forward. I know that's
- 50:16happening with the World Cup and stuff, but I'm not going to lie. I don't like it. International
- 50:21football comes second. I don't care. I'm not going to say it. Look, the Europa Final in the conference
- 50:28final exactly the same time that they always are. I know, but the other finals have to be
- 50:32brought forward. The FA Cup was brought was decided to be a week before the end of the season,
- 50:37but at least this year they didn't play any games the same time. The FA Cup was the most
- 50:42prestigious cup in World Football. I think it's the oldest. It's the most prestigious. The most
- 50:47prestigious cup competition in World Football. I don't know people say the Champions League, but
- 50:51it hasn't been going anywhere near as long as the FA Cup and we should treat it like the
- 50:56diamond that it is. We don't. And bringing it forward to the piece for the World Cup. No,
- 51:00no. You're dancing to Arjun. We're the most powerful league in the world. I have a span.
- 51:06I have a span and goal. Listen, no, we're sticking to our guns here. This is the most important
- 51:11cup in the world. So you know, just have a bit of backbone. FA. It's a heavy that on it.
- 51:18No, are you great? I think it makes it less exciting.
- 51:21I'm sure we talked about this before in terms of it should be at the end. It should be our last
- 51:28showcase piece of the season and if someone gets into the Champions League final after that
- 51:33brilliant, we could watch that as well, but the FA Cup should be. Should be our last one. But I
- 51:39think I don't know if it was anything to do with the World Cup. I don't know if it's anything
- 51:42to do with it because the next season's first game of the season is at least a week later
- 51:48than normal because of, I presume, because of the World Cup. So we always have to think that
- 51:52that comes into it a little bit. Now, going back to the original question to do Arsenal win
- 51:57a palace then? You'd have to say so. We'll say they limped over the line against Bernal.
- 52:02Yeah, they look nervous. It wasn't quite as easy as you expect. It was going to be fours
- 52:08and fives. Everybody was thinking it was going to be a big celebration. Do you?
- 52:13Or at least if there were still level on points, the Arsenal were looking at
- 52:18thing and this is our chance to go and get five goals and give put the title back around it.
- 52:22I've brought that to a city down the right place. They won't want to know.
- 52:25City down the right place. City will win them one down a half time. I haven't seen the team
- 52:29better, but I'm looking forward to it. I've held their hands in the scene. Not first off,
- 52:34that's the best I've seen the team play. But the second half is quite apparent. Peps,
- 52:38come in and say, listen, this could go down to gold if it's going to get us more goals.
- 52:41I think our gap has gone in and our half time gone. Do you know what, that's losing one now?
- 52:45Just have a goal. Stop shooting a shot and by them going for the throat and then for us
- 52:50just having a little go back, the whole game opened up. We see more than unfolded, but I think
- 52:54for Arsenal, they got over the line. Yeah, they're nervous. You'd have to say go into palace
- 52:58against what you've just said to Arsenal. You'd have to say Arsenal should be able to get
- 53:06over the line. You'd have to say. And again, as I said, I'm not sure city win.
- 53:11I just think Bournemouth, when they're going for the champ Bournemouth, we're getting the
- 53:14Champions League this year. Congratulations to them. I've done a brilliant job. Could be
- 53:19him for manager of the year. You've got, if you get all of potential, you've got Keith Andrews
- 53:26who's took them from the Champions League. People thought it was getting relegated to actually
- 53:29get in the Champions League for Bournemouth. You and I, Emory, qualified for the Champions League
- 53:32and an Europa League final. Sondor and manager coming up and doing what he's done.
- 53:36Regis Lebris, who, when I was talking on the show during the Monday of the first week,
- 53:41if they came up into the Premier League, I called him Roger Lebris.
- 53:45To his face. No, down the camera live. He's like, we can hear from Roger Lebris.
- 53:52Please tell me, you tell me, correct the job. No. Oh, you know what? So that didn't go that well.
- 53:59Regis Lebris. So yeah, he's done a brilliant job and I'll set it. I think about
- 54:03I'll set the wins the league. I think, I think it is. I think because it's the first time they've
- 54:08won it in 22 years. I think if they won, I think if they've won. And what he looked done with regards
- 54:12to wrestling away from maybe not Liverpool this season, but City and I think he's done a great job,
- 54:16regardless of what anyone does. I do. I think Michael, I think Michael's done an amazing job.
- 54:21Fairflation. There's a few up for it though this year. Well, I do think, I think if, if
- 54:26Eddie Ola gets champions, I think there's no, there's no good, I think without a shadow, that
- 54:32that as an achievement is bigger than anything else. That goes, that could potentially go down
- 54:38to sixth, but that means so as the villa have to win the Europa League and finish.
- 54:45It's really well and finish fifth in the league. If they, if they win the Europa League and
- 54:50finish fourth, it's really well. It looks like they're going to finish in the top four, but if
- 54:54they win the Europa League and finish in the top four, of course, Liverpool and then five. Then
- 54:58Champions League places only goes down to five teams. If they win the Europa League and finish fifth,
- 55:03then we can get number six team. That's why we don't win the Europa League last year,
- 55:07but we've got in. Yeah, which is amazing. In through that position in top five,
- 55:12still got it through the league. So it was, yeah, it's complicated, but yeah, that's still not
- 55:18completely out of it. Are we? Because that isn't officially numbers wise. It can still get you
- 55:23in your potentially if that's what I've said. That's what happens if you win the Europa. So we
- 55:30should win the conference. We should. So it would go tonight if, if Villa go as I just said,
- 55:37in fifth, which means Champions League goes down to six, then you get two, then you get two
- 55:42Europa League slots and a conference slot. So that gets you down to ninth. I'm not sure what
- 55:48the effect of Palace win in the conference does. You've got to go in Europa. Yeah,
- 55:53so I don't know if that gives us an extra Europa League position. So that would make three,
- 55:57or it would still just take one of the two. I'm not exactly sure. I'm pretty sure the top nine
- 56:02get you into your. And we've still got a chance of finishing night. We're 11th right now. We need
- 56:07a few results to go our way. We do that all we know. And we'd have to beat Spurs. Yeah, but I think
- 56:12Spurs are safe now. Mm-hmm. Hey, that's done. You know, we've been up with that belief. Think
- 56:17behind you. There's a sign just behind Sony for those who aren't watching it that says believe.
- 56:20Mm-hmm. I've never really knew what that was, but I've just watched Ted Lasso this week. Yeah.
- 56:25I've watched it. Ted Lasso. Yeah. Believe so. I've never really known, but just up to the
- 56:33episode with the show. Ted Lasso was a TV program about an American family knows it's
- 56:41for poor cultures. Yeah, but then he comes over to do an English team called Richmond. Oh wow.
- 56:45Who play at Palaces ground? That's their home ground. And that's part one of the episodes he
- 56:50makes this sign about trying to go his team to believe. And that's that's what that sign is.
- 56:54So I've stared at that. Yeah, it's just, yeah, it's just they got me there. I've stared at that for
- 56:56a while now. I'll use plug. I never knew what it was. I'll use plug and things again. You know,
- 57:00just Ted Lasso will never know. Yeah, so if I can get any Ted Lasso merchandise. Well, yeah,
- 57:06I've got a person, so go on back, Spurs. I mean, don't know how we got to leave. But yeah,
- 57:10it is Spurs West. You think Spurs are safe. Yeah, I think West. I'm gone. I don't even know
- 57:16West. I've got last game. Sorry, and I don't know. But I know West. I've got leads. Spurs are
- 57:20lead to safe. So West, I would have to beat leads. And we'd have to beat Spurs. Imagine, you know
- 57:25what? I'm not going to lie. I think we can depend on how that could happen. But, but Spurs play
- 57:32Chelsea tonight. As we're talking so that could actually. Spurs are safe. Spurs beat Chelsea to
- 57:39one more away. At Chelsea. I think OK. And where to Chelsea in the league?
- 57:46Four fifths. I think in the minutes six. No, they're there. Chelsea six or seven. They need
- 57:49them. They really need a win. Oh, OK. But Chelsea haven't been playing great. But Alonzo has
- 57:55just become Chelsea's new manager, hasn't he? Yeah, but he's not in yet. Is he?
- 57:58No, but there's this feel of he'll be watching us now and we're going to have to play well.
- 58:02And they also want to just have an effect of us. Yeah, of course. It should do.
- 58:07Would it is one point? Would he come in the dressing room, do you think?
- 58:09And have a little pop. I don't think so. I don't think yet. Would he have been at the
- 58:13training ground if he's agreed to be the manager? Yeah, I don't know. Well, actually, don't know
- 58:17whether the red when he picked when he starts his actual role, whether he's in there. He's also
- 58:21another one, any, you know, our lovely pool, my kids are scouting on that. No, he's not.
- 58:28No, he's not. He's also a Pep Guardiola man as well. Haven't worked with him at Real Madrid.
- 58:33He's all about the influence of Pep again. I just, I'm, you know, uh,
- 58:36I'll still cop out. He's going, you know, he's our man and he's, uh, he's pal.
- 58:40No, he's not. He's not bothered. That's twice. He's knocked you back now. He's laughing at you.
- 58:44It is, don't we? That's always to be out politely honest here. I'm sick of the big loving
- 58:47forum. You've got Steven Gerrard sitting there who's probably the one of the greatest,
- 58:52if not the greatest legend you clubs ever had. And I was in on your stuff. I was in a part of
- 58:56I was in a part of the conversation. Well, he couldn't be up until very recently because of his
- 59:01contract with in Saudi. He said he couldn't manage here. I've been in here until a certain date.
- 59:07So he's work of the TV. So that's fine. But I think he, well, he's taught, they were talking about
- 59:12barely. It's like the connection with barely. I picked up a phone and gone, Steven Gerrard.
- 59:17Do you want to come in please? I'm probably worried about him having too much influence
- 59:21within the squad. I'll just come in and I'll come in and see that. Imagine now bringing,
- 59:25Steven Gerrard in and then the fans are going, like, things aren't going well. Let's just say it
- 59:30was 10 games in next season and then they're going right out you going, Steven Z. And I'm ready
- 59:34to take the rub. Johnny, people like all the slot will be like, I don't know if I want him,
- 59:38I don't know if I want him that close. Yeah, Johnny, I think it in there. Yeah. So you know,
- 59:42it's only better. I just think he's a good fit. He's only you starting to like a long zone now
- 59:48then because he keeps turning them down. I think it's hilarious. I'm just, because all of it,
- 59:52I've got quite this. He's coming. He's going to be amazing what he don't like because not
- 59:55I mean, yeah, great. He's coming. No, he's not. No, he's not. He's not coming.
- 1:00:00I know the full fans are old now for Lewis and Ricky. Wow. Now that would be, I don't want to see
- 1:00:04that. No, I don't want to see that. What he's created a PSG and there's the frightening part.
- 1:00:10He lost possibly, he let go of PSG's best ever player and he's talked him to another level.
- 1:00:16Well, that's, have you seen some of his, some of the videos on him talking to the likes of
- 1:00:20them, and talking to people in the dressing room and showing, showing the character he is and
- 1:00:25talking, properly talking down to these people in terms of, I don't care who you are. I'm the manager,
- 1:00:32my way, the highway respect. You see that influence on on the team. I know he's saying that
- 1:00:37they all have to run and they all have to be involved in every victory. And you can see that
- 1:00:42on his team. That's true. That's true. Yeah. That people can still be a manager.
- 1:00:46Did we, what was our bet on that? You had PSG and I had buy a Munich. What was, did we,
- 1:00:51we don't know what any cash did we? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know,
- 1:00:56so you're going to keep saying that. No, no, no, no. You put, you know, I kind of do.
- 1:01:01Why did you pick, why would you pick buying by the way? Because you picked PSG and I said,
- 1:01:05I'll take buy it. No, you picked buying first. I said PSG. Okay. Okay. I'll watch it back. But
- 1:01:11we're all in agreement though. Arsenal going to win the league. Rest down, but relegated.
- 1:01:14I'm not on the Arsenal. You know, I need, I'm not on the, I just need to see PSG probably
- 1:01:21pick Arsenal, but I'm not surprised if Arsenal do win, but I didn't know any of it. I think
- 1:01:26I think the leagues up the grabs and I think that that final, I think I have no idea, but that
- 1:01:33final because I don't think anyone can defend when they purely set out to defend as well as Arsenal.
- 1:01:39Last year, Arsenal, PSG in the group stages, two in the Arsenal, because I was at the Emirates
- 1:01:45doing the commentary for that one. And PSG would miles off the pace. And Arsenal were very good.
- 1:01:51I couldn't believe Arsenal, sorry, I couldn't believe PSG went on to become the team they did
- 1:01:55by the end of last season, because they were easily the best team in the country in the world
- 1:01:58or certainly in Europe. And I think that happened again. This year they started really slowly,
- 1:02:03but getting up to the business and now they are starting to pick. Is that down to fitness and
- 1:02:08peaking at the right time? You just show off and it comes in because the PSG IC in that club
- 1:02:12will cup where there wasn't a club will cup where they weren't the same PSGFC in the Champions League.
- 1:02:19Even at the start of the Champions League groups. They were losing games.
- 1:02:22They weren't, they weren't the finished start of the club, but then you look at City,
- 1:02:28Real Madrid definitely by a minute to a lot of extent. In the top European competitions,
- 1:02:35they always seem to get better and better as they go along. Arsenal won every game pretty much,
- 1:02:40they won the group and they've done brilliant to get to the final, but the likes of PSG just
- 1:02:45seem to time they're on to be the first to win it. Do you want me to tell Arsenal to win it?
- 1:02:51I want to say my one Arsenal to win it. I mean, my cup, I mean, we're three of a minority,
- 1:02:57by the way. Everyone has to hear it. I think Arsenal are now possibly the most hated club in the
- 1:03:03world and it's down to their fan bases. I mean, I want them to win. I just always want the best
- 1:03:11team to win. Whoever deserves to win should win. I hate seeing teams like I can't say either team
- 1:03:16doesn't deserve to win though. I hate when teams don't well to get there. I hate teams like,
- 1:03:20you know, when, and this is not like this, but when athletes come and get there far,
- 1:03:25then semi-only does what he does. If I have frustrated me and I know he's because he's just
- 1:03:30it's a horrible way to win things. At least you and people are kind of linking him,
- 1:03:34semi-only, like Mick Lottet at the times. And I don't, I don't think that's what Arsenal are.
- 1:03:38I think Arsenal are the right time to hear. I've gone for it and I'm pressed to.
- 1:03:42But I also do see the side of the sport where there is games where they've gone into
- 1:03:46against City of Colbert. I've just gone, you know what we're coming to, shut up,
- 1:03:49shut, and we'll have a goal in three kicks. So I think that shows great face,
- 1:03:53tells you as a manager. And I've never, I haven't really seen that from an athletic side. I've seen
- 1:03:58that a lot more from Arsenal's perspective this season. It's not just defense and whatever I
- 1:04:03be because defense can't just do what they've done. It can't get to a challenge they can't
- 1:04:07get. It's where they are in the lead position. They do score goals. They are a threat from all over
- 1:04:10the park. And I think Liverpool fans, especially I've just got it in for Arsenal. And I think it's
- 1:04:17because they see what they was a little bit in them because Liverpool are the great defense
- 1:04:23when they were winning the league a couple of years ago. Liverpool were great on the on the attack
- 1:04:27and doing what they were doing. And they just don't like it. Liverpool were getting corners,
- 1:04:31left right intense and scoring them. You know, it was happening. It's just that now that it's
- 1:04:35happening against you. You don't like it. And you throw it all back in everyone's face.
- 1:04:39And must also say that thing, you know, was a foul.
- 1:04:43I'm right. And I don't care how many screen shots people want to get up.
- 1:04:47Yeah, I know. It's not. That's a foul. He's got a hold of his arm and his arms across his throat.
- 1:04:52It's definitely a foul. But there was loads going on in the box though. Everybody was
- 1:04:57fouling everybody. There was people hooking and grabbing and sort of selling and all. So it's
- 1:05:00what's the answers that are? What do you do? Do you punish someone? I think you
- 1:05:06I think you've got to something's got to be done. I think they can't carry on like that when
- 1:05:11you've got the likes of you're a player. What's the big thing? Just in that moment,
- 1:05:14you've got the likes of it. And this is across the whole of football of them,
- 1:05:18the little fellas trussards. McAllister does it. And they are just grabbing hold
- 1:05:22and trying to stop being the fellas doing it. It is a foul. How would you police that?
- 1:05:28You're the player. But no, they're silver against Merlin Roller, our place. And then they come
- 1:05:33out and said it should have been a penalty. So thanks very much for thanks very much for that
- 1:05:38for the honesty. They've got to they've got to try and do. I don't exactly know. There's been
- 1:05:42there's been a few different sort of thing. The guy won the guy down in can. The extra lines
- 1:05:49went on matter of the day didn't he and said he would not have anybody in the six yard box.
- 1:05:53I'm not quite sure what that solves. It won't get people round the keeper, but you'll still get
- 1:05:57people tussling. He grabbed that in the six yard box until the current corners took. That's the
- 1:06:02really he said he'd come up with, but I don't think that stops. No, that's ridiculous. He did
- 1:06:07said it on matter of day. I just don't know if that stops grappling everywhere. I just think
- 1:06:10that it doesn't stop. I think it wants the ball goes something along the lines or once the ball is
- 1:06:13placed in the little quadrants at the court of like, although the whistle's not been blown,
- 1:06:18it's live. So everyone knows as soon as you tussle and you grab then it could be a foul.
- 1:06:23Interesting. It's quite often people try and do the grappling until the corner comes in and then
- 1:06:28they'll let go because we've got to remember football's a physical game. It's always been an old way
- 1:06:33I play this. No, no, it's not a times of change, but you've still got to remember. You know,
- 1:06:38that can't evade the loss. It is still a physical game. This is a non-contact sport. This is a
- 1:06:45contact sport and you've got to allow people to have a little bit of a push in the show. I get
- 1:06:49there's variations on them, pushes and shoves and pulls, whatever have you. But the things that you
- 1:06:56can see when you can have an all of a keepers arm and pulling it down, then you've got your arm
- 1:07:00across the road. It's as clear as day. I don't care. And everyone's got their own agendas,
- 1:07:04which they want to follow and go. It's a foul. Look at these other six stills where Arsenal are
- 1:07:08getting away with it. It doesn't matter. Obviously, well, the mistakes are made then.
- 1:07:12They've not made the mistake this time because that's a foul. So it is what it is. What about then,
- 1:07:17we're talking about it. We haven't even touched on the Scottish one. The decision to have a
- 1:07:23ham ball against what do you think about that? You're the player. I don't think it was clear and
- 1:07:32obvious. So I don't think the VAR should have got involved. The last concept, for the long
- 1:07:38throwings come in for anyone who hasn't seen it. That goes up to head it. He's tussling with
- 1:07:43with the Celtic sort of fellow who goes down holding his head so he didn't know it was an elbow
- 1:07:46at first, but it wasn't. People just claiming for everything. Then he goes to head it and his hand
- 1:07:51is really close to where the ball is. I just don't think from the contact and the way the ball
- 1:07:59goes miles away, it's not even if it hits his hand, it's a majority head. It's not clear and
- 1:08:08clear and obvious. I can't tell. It may have, it is and it may not have. I can't take it that far away.
- 1:08:13You look at the man United decision that they got the goal against La Poole Césco where it
- 1:08:18probably brushed off his fingers on its way in. But in the first two minutes of looking at it,
- 1:08:23I couldn't conclusively say. You're saying probably we still don't know if that even such
- 1:08:27is on. No, it looks like it did. More likely than not. More likely than not and it probably did.
- 1:08:34But is there enough video evidence to conclusively say? I think it probably did. I don't know if
- 1:08:41it's completely conclusive. And that's the way I feel about the Celtic one. I don't. I don't
- 1:08:47can hand the ballable on the goals that far out. That's what I'm saying. But it may have
- 1:08:51touched his hand a little bit as he said, isn't it? A little bit. But he's headed it. But he's
- 1:08:55headed it and it's not influenced anything. And that's decided that their title. I know.
- 1:09:00That's decided their title. That is an incredible. Just a coincidence. It's Celtic who
- 1:09:05got that decision. Because it let me tell you if that was hard, it would have got the same
- 1:09:08decision. And that's the big shout. You know what I mean? You've just, you've just
- 1:09:12been at a bit of pivotal history in the Scottish league there. 66 years, I think it's been
- 1:09:17since the last 60 odd since they won it. But also 40 years since a non-old firm tier at one
- 1:09:24that's just frightening. And that was nearly it. Was that Alex Ferguson with Aberdeen who won it last?
- 1:09:28Yeah, probably a 80s. Well, he went to United in 86. So I must have been 84.
- 1:09:35On a margin. You know, 84 because they won the cup. I think they won the European.
- 1:09:40I'm sure he won the European cup. That is what an achievement Alex Ferguson done there.
- 1:09:44People don't even talk about that. Won the Scottish league and then won the European cup.
- 1:09:48Oh, my lord. And he's the last person to win the league outside of Celtic and Rangers.
- 1:09:55Could you imagine what he'd done if he was Celtic or Rangers manager?
- 1:09:59He brought Scottish football could be a different thing now. But he goes to you and I think
- 1:10:03I think all city and Liverpool fans wish he were the gun and been
- 1:10:06just shows you how great Alex Ferguson was way ahead of his time.
- 1:10:14And I think that's the reason why probably he's the greatest manager ever. Better than Pepp.
- 1:10:20Pepp's right on everyone's different managers. But at different managers in style wise,
- 1:10:25I'd love to see them better against you after an absolute absolute league.
- 1:10:30He's got to be talked about up there with them. What he's done with PSG, the way they play,
- 1:10:34the speed and the place to play. I mean, he's just a legend.
- 1:10:41I'm not Lewis Henry. He is the big part. You've seen that face game of PSG and buying
- 1:10:46once again, he's just showed you. He can use a completely different set of tactics
- 1:10:50and I can show games off as well. Because everyone was, I watched that second leg.
- 1:10:53I didn't catch all the first leg, but I've seen the second leg and I was like,
- 1:10:56I can't wait to see this again. I just thought, the more I was watching, I just thought,
- 1:10:59you're a genius. You can just go, I'm not having this. I didn't watch the first leg,
- 1:11:03but I watched the second leg. I can't wait to see this again. I've not watched the first leg.
- 1:11:07I've watched it to the face. I've obviously seen all the highlights, but
- 1:11:11someone was once again awake in us. You know, some of us have got to put... That was awake for me.
- 1:11:15Of course it was. One fantastic job. But someone was after a look at people punching other people
- 1:11:20in the face and that's where, but I thought in that second, I just thought, wow, you've gone to
- 1:11:26buying and just gone, we're going to shut you down and we're going to hit you on the break
- 1:11:29when we feel like and we've got the personnel and players to do whatever we want to do
- 1:11:33when we want to do it. I just think when they come up against Arsenal, if Mikhail sets out and
- 1:11:38goes, listen, we can't concede nor go on for anything for the first 70 minutes. When you get your
- 1:11:42chance at them on the break, they're one side, they can't hold you back because them say,
- 1:11:46my only worry is who plays right back because everything else picks itself at Arsenal.
- 1:11:50I think the team's actually done, but that right back position, I think the audience
- 1:11:54must get it out. They're hoping Tim is back for us, we've said before. I don't think anyone wants
- 1:12:00their first game back to be, you know, I haven't been out for, what, because he can't have done any
- 1:12:05fit this way. I've been out for six weeks minimum, your first game is back up against Cavalier
- 1:12:11and Ben Ballet coming over that as well. That's tough, but they'll try and get him out there,
- 1:12:15if they can. Who's going to win the ball and door this year? I think it's all on the Champions League
- 1:12:18final. You've got the World Cup. I know the World Cup is the combo. You can't just win,
- 1:12:24you can't stop a great World Cup and win it. I know where you're saying Messi did. I know where you're
- 1:12:28saying Messi. You can't, but that's because it's Messi. That's probably on us, brutally. I mean,
- 1:12:31did he deserve to win the ball and door that year? That's all we just put out. I'm as big as
- 1:12:35fan, war and I come, we're legend, but that was the year Harland won every trophy. And you know
- 1:12:41where you deserve the ball and door that year. But this year, I think it'll be one, I don't think
- 1:12:46the World Cup will decide the ball and door. I think it could be, I think it's a little for grabs.
- 1:12:50I think if Harry Kane would have been in the Champions League and won the Champions League and
- 1:12:53the League, I think it should have been him, possibly because he's out now. I think that tits him a
- 1:12:58little bit. Well, that's the right position now, isn't he? He could win the League, he could win
- 1:13:01the Champions League and then have England win the World Cup. Does that not throw him in the mix?
- 1:13:04It doesn't actually, but he couldn't even win the football rightist play of the year,
- 1:13:08Bruno Fernandez won that. Yeah. So I think that's, I think that's, I think,
- 1:13:12the best player in your league. I'm not saying he isn't the best player in his league,
- 1:13:15but he wasn't picked by the, by the press and, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's, that's a nice,
- 1:13:21more important to Arsenal than Bruno Fernandez is to United. Oh, that's a good question.
- 1:13:26No, it's because that's what I do.
- 1:13:30Who's more important? At the minute, Declan Rice is hugely important for us,
- 1:13:38because he's driving them forward to being able to compete for leagues and compete for,
- 1:13:42for trophies. Bruno Fernandez is everything positive about, not ever the positive.
- 1:13:49But Bruno Fernandez is the centerpiece of my night, taking him out of my United,
- 1:13:52and I'm not even sure where they finished. Yeah, I agree, yeah. Whereas you could probably take
- 1:13:56Declan Rice out and they'll be, they'll be, they'll be competing near the top of the league,
- 1:14:00but they won't be where they are. You can do what Declan Rice can do. Do you not think it's
- 1:14:05a question? I haven't got a clue. Do you think that, I think, I think he's, I, I love that,
- 1:14:11I'm at kit for United. I think he's brilliant. Yeah. And I think he needs to be given more of a chance.
- 1:14:16Yeah, but Bruno's the leader of that team. Yeah, sure.
- 1:14:19And he's done well, but he's had, he has had a really good season with what's that Michael
- 1:14:23Catequan could be given. But only eight in, um, open play. Sorry, thank you.
- 1:14:28Only eight of those assists were an open play. Oh, that was Michael Catequan. That doesn't matter.
- 1:14:32It doesn't, it does matter, but it, it's on set pieces. He gets, he's, Roy, the role was in,
- 1:14:37he gets to take absolutely three kicks, Corn, but on top of all that, I'll go to Michael
- 1:14:43Catequan. Brilliant. Mike Michael as well. Yeah, I don't know, but I think he's done a great job.
- 1:14:48He's done a brilliant job, yeah. I mean, they come out and said he's the manager now. Yeah.
- 1:14:51They've done the big, two year contract with the years extension, maybe. That's not much, is it?
- 1:14:56It's all right in modern, modern terms, two years, two years with the years.
- 1:15:00They went, he went, expect and certainly kept on. I don't think was he, so. No, it's got them
- 1:15:04champions of the football. Yeah, so the big test is for him about, that's what they're all saying.
- 1:15:08You've been the right to now have two games a week. I think he needs, I think he needs back,
- 1:15:12and this is the question because they put him in today, back him, like follow him, give him
- 1:15:18money to spend, considering they weren't even sure if they want him to be the manager at first,
- 1:15:22because with two games a week, that squad needs a lot of of this.
- 1:15:25Miles Rushwoods come out and said that he's trying to lie in the sand, he doesn't want to go back.
- 1:15:29Is he? Yeah, he's come out and said he wants to stay a Barcelona.
- 1:15:32I mean, I'm playing really. I mean, Barcelona sounds like a nice place, he's looks there.
- 1:15:38Is he, though, because he's not starting every week? Well, he's just good, the wind are against
- 1:15:41them. I think, yeah, he's got some protocols, and the lifestyle must be great up there, yeah.
- 1:15:46No one's hassling them up there and what a what a player he is. I just meant living on the beach
- 1:15:51and sunshine and all that. Yeah. Well, we spoke a lot about managers today, we'll finish on this,
- 1:15:56two shows, got a couple of decisions to make for Friday, who gets in the England squad.
- 1:16:00What I'm going to ask you is, who would be your surprise player that makes the squad,
- 1:16:05and who would be maybe a surprise in mission? So you don't have to pick the whole squad,
- 1:16:08somebody who's a surprise who gets in, somebody who's a surprise who doesn't make it.
- 1:16:14I think the surprise to get in will be charter brand twits.
- 1:16:17Yeah, because he's injured.
- 1:16:19That'd be a huge surprise. I know that, but you know, I add them and he had them
- 1:16:22penciled in the squad. So you would put them in? No, I'm not, so I'm just saying he'd be the
- 1:16:26surprise, because he was penciled in, but I didn't think he was ever going to be your surprise,
- 1:16:30who gets in. So why don't you think it's been great this season, who not everybody else?
- 1:16:34Jimmy Garner's every day. Jimmy Garner's been brilliance.
- 1:16:37Yeah, but I'm not class and it was a surprise. I think he should be in anyway,
- 1:16:42and I think he's got a really good chance of being in. I really do, because I think he's
- 1:16:47quite similar to Elliot Anderson. He's quite similar to Elliot Anderson. Whereas
- 1:16:53you've got Coby Maynu and Adam Boat, and he'll probably compete in as well to be in there.
- 1:16:58Connogalligan maybe. I think Garner's for the role that he'd need to play in,
- 1:17:03not sent him to fieldplay. So I think Garner's probably as close to being a proper
- 1:17:09just swap for Elliot Anderson than anyone. So I think he's got a real good, good opportunity.
- 1:17:14The reason you've got to say Jimmy Garner, and I'll tell you this right now, is the versatility,
- 1:17:18that boy can play anywhere. He can do a job for you anywhere, so he can cover the right back.
- 1:17:23He can cover on the right side of the midfield. He can play central midfield. He can do a job for
- 1:17:27you anywhere, and that's why he has to go to World Cup. Because we don't have a player that will
- 1:17:31just go into all of them different positions. I mean, at times for the season 11, he's played
- 1:17:35right back, left back, sentiment, right wing, left wing. There's not another player who's played
- 1:17:40so many positions for England, sorry for Devon, or their club team. So that for me, it's a must.
- 1:17:48I think he will be a surprise for people outside of Devon.
- 1:17:52Right, yeah. No, you're probably right, actually. He played those two warm-up games, didn't he?
- 1:17:57I don't know. So he did well. He showed two cool spots. So maybe for those people outside,
- 1:18:03he was a surprise us who's like a shock. Is that Arsenal kid would be taking him or be a risky?
- 1:18:08Look, he looks. Don't. Yeah, back, down the night on that you can take him. He's not even playing
- 1:18:14regularly for Arsenal. He is in the squads and that, but he's not ready for a World Cup. You're not
- 1:18:19using him in that way. A mission was to do a World Cup years ago, and then he just
- 1:18:25highlighted it. Just put a lot of highlights on his game that probably put unnecessary pressure on him.
- 1:18:31To be honest, which only he could tell you whether that affected is
- 1:18:36a little more later, you think is he definitely going on and he might not all the one
- 1:18:40players just on the verge of it. You think I'll look at it left backs and probably going back a year.
- 1:18:45Miles Lewis Skelly was maybe first choice left back and now I don't think he goes.
- 1:18:50That's it. He get this. I think oh, Riley goes and maybe there's a whole Riley goes as left
- 1:18:55back. He got liberal mental. Oh, surprise. It's a tough one. He's battling him a hundred percent
- 1:19:01because he's back playing. Yeah. I think he is. Yeah. Maybe he'll be in there.
- 1:19:04No, he's got to be in there, but if he's in there, no, no, no, no, no, no, you've got to take him.
- 1:19:10I don't care what anyone is. He's the one who came to mind when he first asked the question
- 1:19:13because no, he's a must. No, he's a must. I would take him in terms of it's not been his best
- 1:19:1718 months. Now, he's called Palmer. He's another one who's called Palmer. Yeah,
- 1:19:21both of them are so and I think because both of them have out of a little bit of form,
- 1:19:27both of them are similar. I think he probably only takes one of them. Really? You think he leaves
- 1:19:32co-parmidol? Well, neither of them are in this first 11. Really? I don't think either of them are
- 1:19:37in our first 11 at the moment. You're not having one of them as a 10. I don't know if he's
- 1:19:41battling him. He plays it, don't he? Or Morgan Rogers or even Morgan Gibbs White might be the
- 1:19:47the inclusion he scored 14. So go ahead and say he could be around there as well. As he goes in there,
- 1:19:52so I don't think you've got to take him forwarded. I'd you've got to take them just for the size of
- 1:19:57the players and the magnitude of the what they can do. We try and play in them and stuff,
- 1:20:00mate. So I think you probably just take one of them. I think all of them gets left on the same
- 1:20:05way. That's a brave call. That means you leave one of them. That's we've got some brilliant players.
- 1:20:10Well, you look at that. That's a brave decision. Is what I always try and say,
- 1:20:14I just want us to go into the tournament and obviously the press get around this as well.
- 1:20:19It's going to be the first 11 and the first game and then we seem to be like, well, that must
- 1:20:24be our strongest 11. We have to play that 11 every single game now and I'm more of the opinion
- 1:20:29that we've got 26 pretty impressive players. If we went in the first game, Bellingham number 10,
- 1:20:36we went in the second game, Morgan Rogers number 10. I'd be all right with that top.
- 1:20:41And then you're making a freshness and a rotate. So I think the only one that really plays
- 1:20:45every game is Harry Kane. I think he can because of his style. But then you have to have people
- 1:20:49running beyond him like they do it by a minute. They have a leech say and they have Lewis D.
- 1:20:54as running, making the pitch long. We've got to do that. But the rest of the team, I would semi-rotate.
- 1:21:00I don't think by a sack of raster play on that right off that right every single time. We've got
- 1:21:05enough players that it's not a gamble if... So you just said the only person who you think has
- 1:21:10to start every game is Kane. You believe that? I think Bellingham is the exact same. I think that
- 1:21:14the first two nights she... The first name on the team sheet is Bellingham and Kane, the first two.
- 1:21:19After that, that's right. I love the race, such as they had the Bellingham. Sorry, Jordan.
- 1:21:23Jordan, you're sparing your team. You're going to get to the 11 players, you know? No, no.
- 1:21:28Well, if I was to remind you, I think it's the absolute they've got to play. Pickford,
- 1:21:34Gay, Bellingham, Kane, I think the rest of the grabs. Yeah, I would go, go, go, keep it.
- 1:21:41That's your spine. Two centre-arts, whichever you decide. Two centre-arts, then. No, I'm talking
- 1:21:46about that because you can't have it mixed in my... I think two centre-arts stay in the
- 1:21:51centre, it's always that. Right now, Gays won. Gays just a must-gay in probably Conzer,
- 1:21:58because they don't make stones, it's done enough to be sort of fit enough to be around there.
- 1:22:02But if you look at Gays, you're looking Gays and Conzer. Do you think Conzer has a different race
- 1:22:09in the middle as an actual footballer? No. Was a defender? Conzer's played all season long,
- 1:22:14he's at the peak of his powers, he's quick, he's dynamic. I know, I get that, but it's the
- 1:22:20best way of us. Stone's he has, but he's not really been fit, nobody's been played, he's not sharp,
- 1:22:27and he's not, he's not sharp, he's just on the cup. Did he, did something you got to go on in the
- 1:22:32cup finally? He's not played any real. Look at, I'll take him, and I'm good, and I love them.
- 1:22:39I'd take Harry McGuire over Conzer, and I'm Harry McGuire starting.
- 1:22:42A big statement. I don't think McGuire makes a squad. Don't you? No, I think that's a surprise,
- 1:22:47Amish. You don't think Harry McGuire makes a squad off of the season? There's all the people
- 1:22:50who think they say it. No, I say, because... No, I say that because Thomas Tuchuk came out
- 1:22:55after he played in one of the last friendlies and said, they said, like, what do you think about
- 1:22:59McGuire? And he said, well, I've learnt nothing new, I know exactly what he does,
- 1:23:02I know exactly what he's capable of. You've got back. And he's down. And he's got that
- 1:23:06cheeseless pass. You're made to Thomas Tuchuk. I'm with regards to Stoffice. He's down the
- 1:23:12peck in order. There are some centre-offs ahead of him. So, unless his injuries, I don't think he
- 1:23:16makes it. Wow. But Tuchuk and I have goalkeeper, I probably have Conzer and Conzer in the
- 1:23:20half, Declan Rice and Harry Kane. I forgot about Bechland Rice. He's a monster off. Right through
- 1:23:25the middle. Other than that. I mean, and even if there was a game... If we had a game...
- 1:23:32And I might leave Declan out for that just to say, I don't need you playing because it's
- 1:23:38going to be... It's going to be... Put Jimmy, put Jimmy in and say, the demands are physically
- 1:23:43going to be a hot, it's going to be a really tough thing. I hate a plane in the heat.
- 1:23:49I'd rather it was mad as 10 than 20 degrees because my body will manage that better.
- 1:23:55Do you just not run as much as you just look to get a giver, get a giver? Where did you,
- 1:23:59you're not... You don't fancy taking photos out of that heat. Yeah, you just suddenly get in.
- 1:24:03You know what it's like if you're in an holiday and you go over the walk and you're like,
- 1:24:07you feel like one of your kids goes, Dad, come run over and play this, you're like,
- 1:24:13that's too hot. You might make a person on the beach with your kid and then you're like,
- 1:24:16well, I can't run here. You just feel physically exhausted more than you usually would.
- 1:24:22So, it's not easy to see it have to play the game better and I just think we use our squad
- 1:24:26and we've got great players. So, yeah, I like Morgan Rodgers in there, you're like,
- 1:24:30Kai Sakki, you're like, but I'm happy to start. Are you starting Morgan Rodgers overfold
- 1:24:35no call? I would. I think in the minute Morgan Rodgers has been... I might take, as I said,
- 1:24:42I might take Morgan. He's scored 14 goals. He's been brilliant as well, but I'm not picking
- 1:24:45him overfold, not or call. I just don't think they can do the same thing as them two boys can.
- 1:24:50Okay, let's contain a game on its head in one move. When was the last time I either of them
- 1:24:55did that? I know, but I'm just saying they can. If it's long as they're fit,
- 1:24:58which he can only pick their place. So, we tried that in the last two tournaments,
- 1:25:02and we never really tried it on the same team. I just feel you've got to take them two boys,
- 1:25:08turn a game on its head and as good as the seasons, Gibbs White has had as Morgan Rodgers out,
- 1:25:13I just don't think they're as good as their mother to call Palmer when he's on it, eat on it.
- 1:25:20Who's your backup striker then? You've taken Erie Kane.
- 1:25:23I don't know how I call it, though. You think Erie Kane, yeah?
- 1:25:26I take them. All he walkins. All he walkins is being good this season.
- 1:25:30Well, at times, I should say. He has not a great season.
- 1:25:33He's been good at the back end. Yeah, he's come good when he needs it too,
- 1:25:36basically, but I think that I'm going to call it, being the standout guys in seconds here.
- 1:25:41In seconds here is everyone's seconds here from Erie Kane.
- 1:25:45There is somewhere else. Is Erie Kane the most important player in the team?
- 1:25:48I think he is. Yeah.
- 1:25:50If Erie Kane is not fired, we don't stand the chance.
- 1:25:53Yeah, this season he's been phenomenal.
- 1:25:56It's good to think for this. I think the importance is
- 1:26:01getting not just him firing. We have to have the balance right around him
- 1:26:06because he likes to drop into this. He's basically like a hybrid old-school set of four
- 1:26:10down a false line. Yeah, he needs to drop into. He needs, we need the balance.
- 1:26:15In previous tournament, we've gone with Erie Kane and then we've gone with
- 1:26:18Vodum, one side, and Sakka did a side-up. All want to come short and Bellingham,
- 1:26:21he wants to play in the hole. So we've had everybody on the pitch,
- 1:26:24you've all wanted to come short and no one stretching the pitch.
- 1:26:27I think that it's best if someone runs beyond that gives him the chance to come short
- 1:26:31and then he plays the past himself. We've just got to get balance.
- 1:26:34I'm looking forward to the tournament. I think Bakaio Sakka's pace component, Kane,
- 1:26:39gives you another threat. I think gives you another dynamic on the pitch
- 1:26:43because I don't think any of them are as quick as Bakaio Sakka and I don't think there's
- 1:26:48many that are as direct as clever as Foden and Cole are. It's a different dynamic with Bakaio Sakka.
- 1:26:56It's like what Stalin used to give us basically. He's direct. He's yet he wants to beat
- 1:27:01it in a 1v1, whereas the other two are clever. Foden and Cole are clever and they can do
- 1:27:08that certain things. Yeah, I just don't think there's room for bugs for them. That's all.
- 1:27:11And we'll find out very soon.
