- 0:24Chaos is guaranteed. Awesome.
- 0:28Sweet deal. All right, well, we're here with
- 0:31the goat daddy ropers roping. Roping.
- 0:34Roping. Roping.
- 0:35Yes Sir. Yes, Sir.
- 0:36I can man introduce you guys yourselves.
- 0:40So my name is Luis, one of the Co founders of GoDaddy roping.
- 0:45And then I'm Pablo. I'm one of the other Co founders
- 0:47of GoDaddy roping and. These are brothers.
- 0:50No. No.
- 0:51The brothers stayed home. Yeah.
- 0:54How did the brother get out of getting up early?
- 0:56You had two mics. Oh, gotcha, 2X1.
- 1:00So we had another mic we'd have had, we'd have had the three of
- 1:02you. Gotcha.
- 1:03And you know what? There's a total of 4 founders.
- 1:05Oh, is there? Yeah, yeah, 44 owners, but.
- 1:09You know, 3 founders, 4 owners. OK.
- 1:12So somebody invested in it then? Yes.
- 1:14Very how cool have you guys known each other for it's?
- 1:18About high schools. Oh yeah.
- 1:19Where'd you guys go? Long story, we've technically
- 1:23known each other since we were like probably 7 or 8, OK, but we
- 1:27didn't get close until the year right before high.
- 1:29School gotcha, Yeah. Where'd you guys go to high
- 1:31school? We went to Saint Mary's Catholic
- 1:34High School my first year, he graduated from there, and then I
- 1:37ended up graduating out of Desert Heights, OK.
- 1:40Cool. So both local boys grew up here.
- 1:42Yeah. You know what down in Phoenix
- 1:44and, and we, our families would see each other at church.
- 1:46We'd say hi and what, but we were just never friends.
- 1:50We'd see each other at photo family events and stuff like
- 1:53that. Birthday parties, parties and
- 1:55and we just wouldn't talk to each other but.
- 1:57We'd hang out for that one or two hours and then deuces.
- 2:00And now you're business partners.
- 2:01Yeah, yeah. That's cool.
- 2:02And we call each other like probably 30 times a day.
- 2:05Yeah, well, that's. Just seeing what you guys are
- 2:07wearing or? What?
- 2:08Pretty much, yeah. But dude, since since we're
- 2:13always like, since we're young freshman year, I mean, we always
- 2:16wanted to do something. We always wanted to do some
- 2:18business, put something together.
- 2:20And we're, I mean, starting high school freshman year, dude, we,
- 2:25we started a little landscaping gig, OK, still around our
- 2:28neighborhood. We'd be pulling a long trailer
- 2:31with a quad. Nice.
- 2:32Yeah, we're talking like 15 foot trailer with the quad, a little
- 2:36250. Quad and we'd go knock every
- 2:38house in the in the area. You know, we always thought we
- 2:40were going to be business owners at someday.
- 2:42And so I mean we're still trying to do that today.
- 2:45We're still trying to. Still trying to do the landscape
- 2:47thing too. No, no, no, no.
- 2:48OK, Just try to the entrepreneurship, right?
- 2:51That's very cool. Guys fall into the goat rope and
- 2:53what, what, what was that? Oh, that's a fun story, huh?
- 2:56Yeah. He went out to ride at a
- 3:00Roadrunner on a Thursday practice match to get him a
- 3:02little bowl. And, you know, our parents
- 3:05taught us our whole lives, be respectful, say thank you.
- 3:08So we went up to Jeff, the previous owner from the
- 3:12Roadrunner, and we were like, hey, like, thanks for allowing
- 3:14us to come out. Like, thanks for putting this
- 3:16kind of stuff on. And so we just sat there and
- 3:18talked with him for hours after the after the event.
- 3:21And, and we, we honestly give a lot of tribute to our, our
- 3:25family being so much like, oh, like, make sure you should give
- 3:29thanks. Make sure you say thank you, be
- 3:30respectful. Yeah.
- 3:31That's a lot of the the cowboy culture.
- 3:33You know for sure, really. Admire that but at the same time
- 3:37when we when we did that when we went out to ride me and my
- 3:40brother rode went over to go say thank you to Jeff.
- 3:43I bought him a beer. I'm not even old enough but at.
- 3:46His own bar. Told told the bartender.
- 3:49You know, hey, can you, you know, purchase a beer for that?
- 3:51He's like, you want to buy a beer for the owner?
- 3:53I was like, yeah, just wait on my tab, you know what I mean?
- 3:55And we got to talk to him because of that.
- 3:58Yeah, that's cool. And we're sitting down talking
- 4:00with him about it and he's just telling us about what was going
- 4:03on, what they used to have. And and they said something
- 4:06about this goat rope. And I was like, what the hell is
- 4:08that? Never heard about it ever.
- 4:12And you know what? We'd never really held that a
- 4:15proper rope in our hands until we started putting on the goat
- 4:19ropings. So we had like, no clue, no
- 4:22idea. We we went into a basic
- 4:25basically blind. OK, but we started or we're out
- 4:30there with Jeff. We got a couple ideas.
- 4:32I was over there talking to Jeff about.
- 4:34He's like, there's about 250 teams out here on this day.
- 4:37I'm just looking at Pablo. I'm like, what the heck.
- 4:40I was like, dude, that's money right there.
- 4:42And he told us they're like $25 a side is what they paid.
- 4:45We found that that was alive, but they only charged $5 a side.
- 4:51So we're just, we're making numbers up in our head.
- 4:54I look over at him. He's grinning ear to ear where
- 4:57he's got goats on Craigslist on his phone.
- 4:59Craigslist was up, Facebook was up, everything.
- 5:02Dude, that's awesome man. Shit, a lot of people are just
- 5:04giving goats away. Yeah, I mean, we gave 2 away.
- 5:08Oh yeah, give. A couple more, we'll take them.
- 5:10Yeah. Well, what's what's like really
- 5:12cool is, you know, you guys had this entrepreneurial spirit at a
- 5:16young age, you know, and I mean, I remember tons of times hanging
- 5:20out with my buddies and talking about like, oh man, like what if
- 5:23we did this and this and this? But then, you know, you wake up
- 5:26the next morning and you just go through life.
- 5:28But you guys actually talked about it, you know, and then you
- 5:32guys put your plan into reality. You know what I mean?
- 5:35I think that's freaking bad ass too.
- 5:38Well, nobody understands the fear of entrepreneurship.
- 5:40There's no guarantees when you go start something that it's
- 5:43going to work, right? I mean, so you guys took a shot
- 5:46not only on yourselves, but on each other, right?
- 5:48You had to trust each other to, to start this thing and, and
- 5:50really build, you know, not that there's not a concept there
- 5:53because they are obviously we're saying there's 250 teams here
- 5:55locally, but to, to not only start something, but to do it
- 5:59and do it well, you know what I mean?
- 6:00I mean, every time we go, you guys have a packed house, right?
- 6:04So it's cool to see, you know, young entrepreneurs really
- 6:08taking the bull by the horns, you know, per SE, and then
- 6:11building something. So you guys didn't have any
- 6:13goats at the at the beginning, right?
- 6:15But we had to. Get anything bigger than the
- 6:17chicken by then, yeah. Really.
- 6:19Yeah. Where the hell do you store all
- 6:21these goats? Dude, it's the funniest story.
- 6:26So we, we like saved up some money to get panels.
- 6:29We saved up some money to get the goats and we're just mapping
- 6:33it all out, you know, probably like a month after I'd gone a
- 6:35ride and we finally saved up the money for it.
- 6:38Just like some fun money is what we called it.
- 6:41So we just saved up that fun money and we did the jankiest
- 6:45thing, man. I mean, we, we didn't, we never
- 6:49seen a goat almost in real life. We've never seen a goat in real
- 6:52life. I was thinking of bringing them
- 6:54back in a van. Oh shit, thanks be to God we did
- 6:59it and I was just like hey dad do you mind if I borrow a
- 7:01trailer? We had this the same trailer we
- 7:04used for for landscaping. I ended up taking that trailer.
- 7:07It's got maybe like 4 foot high walls.
- 7:09I don't think so, but I'm pretty sure I was like 2 foot outside.
- 7:12Walls. It was just big enough to keep
- 7:14them in. No, not big enough to keep them
- 7:17in. That's the issue.
- 7:18So we, we drove all the way down to Camp Verde for, for this, we
- 7:22went in his truck. But we, you know, we, we pulled,
- 7:25we pulled that little trailer. Well, we got there, man.
- 7:28I was. I was terrified.
- 7:29Yeah, I bet. There wasn't.
- 7:31I'd never seen a goat that big in my life.
- 7:33OK. So I was there like you guys
- 7:36were like. Roping.
- 7:37You guys were getting Rams. Well, that's all we get.
- 7:40No. Oh, I was thinking like a like
- 7:42a, like a sheep ram, like a mountain.
- 7:44The mountain goat? No.
- 7:45Those are huge no? You know what they're like.
- 7:48Yeah, wait, so a RAM is what? Male.
- 7:52Oh, really? Sheep?
- 7:53Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:53Oh, OK, well, I guess I learned something.
- 7:56I didn't know that. Ignore me, I'm stupid.
- 7:59What? It is a sheep.
- 8:01It's a male. Yeah, it's a male shot of goats.
- 8:03Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 8:04A Ram's a. A male sheep, Yeah.
- 8:06Oh, or like a male. So the mountain goats are the
- 8:09are Rams. Those are sheep, but yeah.
- 8:11Just. I think so.
- 8:13Oh, I. Don't know man, I'm a goat guy.
- 8:15They're going. To have to go.
- 8:17I'm a goat. Focus on goats.
- 8:20I'm I'm like really? Confused.
- 8:21We'll, we'll have the producer look it up.
- 8:22What we're what we're talking. I know that a Ram is a truck
- 8:25though. Yeah, there's a few of them
- 8:28outside right now, yeah. No, but we we've never held a
- 8:35go, bro. We've never held a go and we had
- 8:40probably a very fast crash course on how to raise goats and
- 8:45then immediately went to hog tying them because the guy was
- 8:47like, they're going to jump out on the I-17.
- 8:50Oh shit. So unless you want to go chase a
- 8:52goat on the I-17, you're hog tying them on the way.
- 8:54Down. Yeah, yeah.
- 8:56We brought a rope. We bought a like a kid rope.
- 9:00We're like, Oh yeah, we're going to get it easy, dude.
- 9:03No, no. They're in the smallest pen and
- 9:06I tell you, we had the hardest time getting those goats.
- 9:10Yeah, the hardest time, especially when you just.
- 9:12You're not raised like that, right?
- 9:14We had the hardest time trying to grab those and it took
- 9:17everything in me to go and like not be scared.
- 9:20I won't even lie to. You you should have seen us
- 9:22getting the two pigs out of here.
- 9:25It took four of us to get those suckers into a trailer.
- 9:28It was like, you don't realize that a pig is pure muscle until
- 9:32you try to wrestle a pig. And that's, I mean, 'cause when
- 9:35we got them, they were, what, 5060 lbs?
- 9:37Oh yeah, and they were like over 200 lbs when they left.
- 9:41Like getting them out of here, it took, it took four of us guys
- 9:43to get them in a trailer. Yeah.
- 9:44Yeah. So a ram is an adult male sheep.
- 9:48However, a. Mountain boat is not that.
- 9:51It's a Big Horn, sheep. Big Horn, OK, not a mountain.
- 10:03Boat. Yeah, see, I knew that.
- 10:04I just went to Barrizona. Oh, there you go.
- 10:06Yeah, that's where you go get educated.
- 10:08On the difference, it goes all from your car bro.
- 10:10Drive through education right there.
- 10:13So how long has GoDaddy roping been going on?
- 10:17Oh, our first event was November of 2024.
- 10:20OK. Yeah.
- 10:21So just over a year. Very cool.
- 10:23I think that's when we ran into you guys.
- 10:24Was it like one of your first events out at Dylan's right?
- 10:28I think you guys ran into us in June, right at our June.
- 10:30Was it June? Yeah, I thought it was cold.
- 10:33No, I can't remember. I just remember.
- 10:36I just remembered convincing you guys to give me a Kubota hat.
- 10:39The. What?
- 10:40Oh, you called it. And that was the June rodeo.
- 10:43Yeah, yeah. That's.
- 10:44Right. OK.
- 10:44Yeah, that's when you guys saw Cohen at our rodeo.
- 10:47You played the intermission. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:50Yep, yeah. That's how I.
- 10:51Mean I started that was that started.
- 10:53Right when we started. Yeah, that's awesome, man.
- 10:59And how old are you guys? 20. 20 damn Dang.
- 11:03Dude. That's awesome.
- 11:04And then his brother's 1919. Yeah.
- 11:06Very cool. That's awesome.
- 11:08Well, what I like about you guys is you guys let my son work with
- 11:12you guys. You know you guys put him to
- 11:14work, man. He's our best paid employee.
- 11:16Yeah, dude. Straight up, he's free 99, yeah.
- 11:19Well, the well, the last rodeo, you know, he goes out there and
- 11:22like, you know, bucks on the bull or whatever.
- 11:25And then, you know, we go to the tables.
- 11:28We're just chilling. I'm like, alright, it's time to
- 11:30go and I know Drakes already over there with with with them
- 11:34working or doing something right And I go back there and then
- 11:38Louise is back there pulling goats and Drakes back there like
- 11:41closing and open up the gates and he's just sweating that I'm.
- 11:44Like those kids are. Those kids are.
- 11:46I know, and I'm like hell yeah dude.
- 11:48Good for you, Drake, you know, so I appreciate you guys for.
- 11:52Yeah, no doubt. No, we appreciate you for
- 11:54letting them do. Yeah.
- 11:56Well, it's good. It's good for all of them to
- 11:57learn it too, right? They don't need to just go out,
- 11:59throw a rope. They need to learn how to work
- 12:01these events and help out and stuff like that.
- 12:03Because you never know, Drake may be the next right generation
- 12:06of this or whatever. So it's cool to see you guys
- 12:08kind of hand that down, especially at such a young age,
- 12:11right? You have the ability to
- 12:12influence the next generation of this stuff going back to like
- 12:15what you're talking about the cowboy way or the cowboy
- 12:17lifestyle is, you know, handing it down and showing the next
- 12:21generation so. Did you guys ever see yourselves
- 12:25in this western culture? Not even in the slightest.
- 12:28Really. You didn't.
- 12:29So you didn't grow up like this? No, I grew up in the middle of
- 12:32the city. OK.
- 12:33Yeah. And the closest thing to a farm
- 12:36I got was the deer farm up in Williams.
- 12:38I was the closest thing I ever really got to a farm.
- 12:40Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:42So back to the interesting thing.
- 12:44Where are you guys storing all these damn goats?
- 12:48His his pops has a little, a little bit of property over in,
- 12:53I guess like what, Northeast, Yeah, Phoenix, yeah.
- 12:57I was really hoping you were going to tell me it was like a,
- 12:59you know, small community, small backyard.
- 13:01There was 100 goats that. Would have made for a good
- 13:03story. Yeah, for sure.
- 13:05Right. HOA is pissed off.
- 13:06Yeah. Downtown Phoenix.
- 13:08Yeah, right. We got taken out.
- 13:10We got a house up in Anthem and it's in there in the backyard.
- 13:13I wouldn't be surprised because you guys said you guys went to
- 13:15Saint Mary's. Yeah.
- 13:19That's funny, but I mean, going back to that story where we are
- 13:23coming back from Camp Verde, we had four goats.
- 13:27We bought 4 goats for the first time and then we hog tied them
- 13:31on the way back and we put a tarp over them.
- 13:32I'm not going to lie to you because we were like, this is
- 13:34the jankiest, most Hispanic thing I've I've ever seen and
- 13:38I've. Ever done?
- 13:40So I'm just, I'm not doing this. I'm not doing this and I'm not
- 13:42letting other people see it. And so we're driving back and
- 13:47man, we stopped at at a Circle K and and I called my dad.
- 13:51I'm like, hey Dad, like there's just going to be a surprise for
- 13:53you when we get. Home also he had no idea they
- 13:55were coming. We hadn't even know that more
- 13:58we. Had a Yeah, we had a chicken
- 14:00coop that we just threw them in and rose hell with it.
- 14:04So it was, it was great. And while we were there at that
- 14:08gas station, man, we sat down to eat outside and you just hear
- 14:11the goats. Yeah, and people were looking
- 14:14around like, what the heck, because we had them covered too.
- 14:17And we were just cracking up. We were just laughing there,
- 14:20sitting at a, at a Sonic right next to and.
- 14:24But once we got home, we threw them in there and dude, it was,
- 14:31it was crazy. It was really interesting how
- 14:33how we ended up going into that. But like you said, we like he
- 14:36said, we never really grew up this way.
- 14:38Yeah. We didn't grow up like this at
- 14:39all. I mean, I, I took horse lessons
- 14:41as a kid, you know, just learning how to ride and
- 14:44whatnot, just because my parents at some point had a liking to
- 14:46it. But it wasn't like we grew up,
- 14:50you know, on a farm, on a ranch, whatever it was.
- 14:52But, you know, we always, we always did.
- 14:55I, I always liked the lifestyle. I always liked the bulls.
- 14:58I was always intrigued by riding bulls, by riding Bronx, by all
- 15:01the rodeo stuff. We always went to a couple
- 15:03different events and well, eventually got into it, I guess
- 15:10you could say. She started with four.
- 15:11How many goats do you guys have now?
- 15:14Right now we have about 14 goats.
- 15:17OK, so not all of them run. There's a so we have one one
- 15:21female who's about to She's about a.
- 15:24She's about to pop. Oh, OK, so she's pregnant.
- 15:26Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so she's just sitting at the
- 15:29house right now. And then the rest of them get
- 15:31taken out to our ropings and we have to alternate between.
- 15:36You have to have a couple because we started with four one
- 15:39time and like 100, maybe like 70 teams showed up.
- 15:42I don't know what we're thinking, but only about three
- 15:44of them ran. So.
- 15:46So we ran them to death quite like it was bad.
- 15:50But we eventually had to expand, get more, and we're doing good
- 15:53now. You gotta swap them every now
- 15:55and then, but yeah. Have you guys thought about
- 15:57using them for weed control? Have you seen that stuff?
- 15:59Like you can charge people for that dude.
- 16:01Yeah, I saw that. And they like.
- 16:03Well, good job. I saw a video the other day
- 16:05where the, like, there it was like a sloped backyard and the
- 16:09weeds were, like 3 feet high. Yeah.
- 16:11They brought in 100 goats and within six hours it was bare.
- 16:14Gone. Yeah, yeah, hey, it looks like
- 16:19that's what I was saying. I was like goat daddy roping
- 16:21slash goat daddy landscaping, right.
- 16:23Like, you know, especially. Now, man.
- 16:25You grow them, we chew them. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 16:28So grow away too. Yeah, that's all there.
- 16:31But I mean, shit as much, especially after the rains that
- 16:34we just had. I'll let, I'll figure out a way
- 16:36to tie them suckers out in the back and let them just go nuts
- 16:39with all of the rain that we had.
- 16:41It grew like crazy out here. I guarantee you'd grab a bunch,
- 16:44a bunch of people out here, be like, shit, let them loose on
- 16:46our property, you know? But so what's, what do you guys
- 16:51got going on now? What's coming up?
- 16:54We, we took a huge step from goat ropings to bull ridings.
- 16:59So up coming up right now and 31st and 30th of January, we got
- 17:03a full rodeo we're putting on. Awesome.
- 17:05Yeah, the great and glory. Great and glory, Wickenburg
- 17:08Rodeo. Yes, Sir, very.
- 17:09Cool. We're excited, we're stoked.
- 17:12Took a lot of planning though about, you know, it was a huge
- 17:16step for us. We were like, dude, how do we do
- 17:18this? You know, because even the one
- 17:19in June was a huge step and we didn't do much for it.
- 17:21I basically called Lacey and said, hey, what do we got to do?
- 17:24And she gave me a checklist and I did it, but there was no
- 17:27checklist for this one. The checklist still grows on
- 17:29this. What what?
- 17:30What was the so like the first one?
- 17:32What would the checklist look like?
- 17:35Pay her and bring entertainment. Yeah, you say what?
- 17:38Pay her and bring entertainment. OK, 'cause you guys piggybacked
- 17:40on the four O 6, right? No, no, Four O 6 wasn't supposed
- 17:44to do anything that weekend. OK.
- 17:46We had an A rodeo plan originally in May Plans fell
- 17:50through and I was working with Susie from Dillon's and, you
- 17:55know, just talking to her. She was, she's been our mentor
- 17:58since probably the beginning, you know, and I was like, hey, I
- 18:01was like, you know, this just happened to us.
- 18:03Like, you know, crap. Like we're, we were down on our
- 18:05luck a little bit. We lost a little bit of money.
- 18:07And she looks at her calendar, looks at me with the grin, looks
- 18:09back at her calendar and goes, what if you put one on here?
- 18:13And I'm like, what do you mean? What does that look like?
- 18:15She's like, call Lacey, have her tell you what to do, get
- 18:19entertainment and let's get it on.
- 18:21I was like, OK, give me a date. She gave me a date June 7th.
- 18:25And then I called Lacey. I was like, Lacey was like, I
- 18:27want to put this on. What are your thoughts?
- 18:28She was like, you might not get writers.
- 18:31It's summer. She's like, but let's try it
- 18:32out. And I was like, OK, I was like,
- 18:34let's see what? Let's see what entries look
- 18:35like. So we started and then we're
- 18:37like, what do we call it? I have no clue.
- 18:38I'm the least creative person you will ever meet.
- 18:41And Lacey goes, let's call it Buckney in the summer.
- 18:43I was like, sweet. I love that.
- 18:45Yeah. First week of the 1st week of
- 18:47the official summer month. Let's do it right.
- 18:50And we had a huge success. We had all the stands full.
- 18:54We had a good amount of writers, you know, we brought Colton out
- 18:57to sing. It was it was amazing.
- 18:59We loved it yeah. You know, goat roping to follow
- 19:02probably one of our top four biggest nights on So we loved
- 19:05it. We had a lot of fun this year
- 19:06that. Was fun that that did work out
- 19:08pretty well because because we signed Drake up for that and it
- 19:14was nice because I feel like during that time it didn't get
- 19:17hot. Like it was like a perfect, you
- 19:20know, the weather was great. The time was great.
- 19:24So I think you guys got lucky on that one.
- 19:26Oh yeah, well we put that thing together in three weeks.
- 19:29It was 3 weeks time from the second.
- 19:31I called Lacey the day after I spoke with Susie to the daily
- 19:35event. That's cool.
- 19:37Yeah. And we, we hadn't been at
- 19:39Dylan's for very long either, and we started going there maybe
- 19:42in January. They're really good people.
- 19:44I mean, they just had a ton. And that rodeo there, it wasn't
- 19:47necessarily for us to make like a, you know, we weren't looking
- 19:51to make so much as, you know, money on it, but rather just to
- 19:54get our name out there. Yeah.
- 19:55Just to get into the industry just to you know, we, we always
- 19:59call it goat roping or gateway drug there.
- 20:01You go, well, it's kind of cool 'cause you guys started just
- 20:04like behind the stands, right where you guys are, and now
- 20:07you're actually in the bucking. Arena no with with Dylan's,
- 20:12we've always been in the Bucking Arena.
- 20:15We just were not great on time management, so we never made it
- 20:17back into the Bucking Arena after Lacey.
- 20:20Gotcha, 'cause I thought when Colton was roping, they were you
- 20:24guys were behind the stands where the camel is now, right?
- 20:27Yes, Yeah. But now you guys are doing you,
- 20:31you guys are actually setting up in the bucking arena.
- 20:34Well, for that night specifically because of the heat
- 20:36that we were thinking we were going to have a lot of heat.
- 20:39We started the event late, Gotcha.
- 20:41And with Lacey starting at 7, there was no time to start the
- 20:45goat roping afterwards and have her get all her animals out.
- 20:47Safe. I see.
- 20:48OK, that makes sense. Very cool.
- 20:52So great. And glory.
- 20:53What's what? What kind of a rodeo is a full
- 20:55rodeo? What events are you guys going
- 20:57to have? How many riders?
- 20:59What? Do you expect going on, It's a
- 21:00full rodeo. It's half open, half Junior in
- 21:02Afar. So working with Lacey, we love
- 21:04her. She was like, hey, do you want
- 21:06to get Junior in Afar out here? And I was like, absolutely,
- 21:09yeah. So we have Junior in Afar for
- 21:11our three main bucking events. Bull riding, bareback, saddle
- 21:13bar, OK everything else is open. We got team roping, breakaway
- 21:18barrel racing, calf roping, ranch, bronc, saddle bronc,
- 21:23bareback and bull riding and then mutton busting for the
- 21:26kids. Very cool.
- 21:27Then all stock is provided from 4:06.
- 21:30All 406, Yep. Well, all rough stocks provided
- 21:33by 406. Yeah, OK Jack Fisher will be
- 21:34providing all of our time stock. OK.
- 21:39Very cool. Damn dude.
- 21:40I think we're going to provide you 3 riders.
- 21:43Awesome. Yeah, I think Mimi's Drake.
- 21:45And Mimi Drake. And then this one.
- 21:47Oh yeah. Why not?
- 21:50You couldn't. Do it.
- 21:53What? Tomorrow goes yeah, that's.
- 21:56How tomorrow goes? What are you competing?
- 21:58In she barrel races. Oh really?
- 21:59Yeah, well her her barrel horse just got adjusted by the Cairo
- 22:03yesterday. So we're we're going to see how
- 22:05she does tomorrow. But she had herself a rodeo a
- 22:08couple weeks ago out at at the horns and hooves.
- 22:13So we're we're looking forward to seeing how she does tomorrow.
- 22:15She's been great since we've changed farriers and we've, you
- 22:19know, fixed her feet and done all kinds of stuff.
- 22:21But yeah, so I'm trying to convince her to ride in it.
- 22:24I was like, why not? We're going to be out there.
- 22:27Why not ride in it so? I got to take a piss.
- 22:30We're going to take a break, all righty.
- 22:34We'd like to take a moment and thank our sponsors for all of

- 24:36Shane's pee break is done. I'm done.
- 24:38So we can. Feel better we we can resume.
- 24:41I feel relieved. You can always expect something
- 24:44random from Shane. I think like personally, I can
- 24:49relate to you guys as far as, you know, not growing up in this
- 24:54lifestyle, you know, and then just like within like the last
- 24:59three years, kind of get getting into it, you know, and it's it's
- 25:05definitely an adventure, you know, and I love it.
- 25:09I mean, I love being able to go to the rodeos and watching my
- 25:12son ride and then, you know, I have a horse as well and getting
- 25:16to ride her and, but it's awesome.
- 25:20I like it. A lot of work it is.
- 25:22Yeah. It's funny.
- 25:23We always hear you live our dream life.
- 25:25And I'm like, be careful what you ask for.
- 25:27Yeah. The dream life is very, very
- 25:29busy. There are no sleeping in.
- 25:31And there is no. I don't feel good today.
- 25:33Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 25:36Yeah, what's so you're so you're doing grit and glory coming up.
- 25:40You got a full rodeo going. Is the plan moving forward to
- 25:43create your own series? Is that kind of the direction
- 25:46that we're going in? We'd like to, yeah, I think our
- 25:51next one. So our next rodeo after this
- 25:53one's in April, That one is a junior NFR finals.
- 25:57Oh wow. But that one we're putting on
- 26:00more as like a Christian event. So it's not very cool subjected
- 26:03more towards rodeo only we we got a little bit more going on
- 26:07that day. But I think long term we'd like
- 26:11to get into eventually hosting like PRCA events, PBR, you know,
- 26:14get a little bit bigger and be able to put on these more
- 26:17bigger, better events and just grow with it.
- 26:20Yeah, that was always a plan. Is to grow a full rodeo so.
- 26:24Yeah, we, we wanted to be rodeo producers.
- 26:26OK, I mean a little bit before we even heard of goat roping,
- 26:30but we knew that goat roping was or could be a weigh in.
- 26:34Yeah. So, So what do you guys need to
- 26:36get it to that next level? A crap ton of money.
- 26:40OK, So what? What's a crap ton?
- 26:45I mean, like for this event alone, we're upwards of like 25,
- 26:49almost 30 grand in spending, OK, you know, just on this one.
- 26:52And it's a simple 2 day event. You know, we didn't realize how
- 26:58fast it all adds up until it added up.
- 27:00Sure. You know, when we, when we were
- 27:02first thinking numbers, we were like 1520 low end.
- 27:04You know, we're like, that's manageable.
- 27:06We got like what, seven months to pay this off?
- 27:09Not manageable. That 15 grew straight to 30 real
- 27:11quick. Yeah, you know.
- 27:13Well, there's unexpected expenses, right?
- 27:15Things that you don't really plan for.
- 27:17Plus it's your first big one. Now that you've done it, you'll
- 27:19have a basis of design. Now you can go and.
- 27:22Build on that. We always, you know, we knew
- 27:23that first one was going to be extremely rough, you know, but
- 27:26it's that learning curve we have, you know, we have to learn
- 27:29how to do it. I mean, the same way with the
- 27:30goat roping. We learned how to go through
- 27:32that the first times we were wrangling the goats moving in
- 27:35because we we hand load them. OK, when we hand load them, I
- 27:38mean man, it takes a toll on your body for that night, at
- 27:41least until your muscles get used.
- 27:43It used to take us like, what, 2 1/2 hours to get through our
- 27:46original 40 runs? Yeah.
- 27:48Now in 2 1/2 hours we can knock out 220 runs.
- 27:50Yeah. Oh wow.
- 27:51You know, we used to have to have a team of 5-6 people and
- 27:54now we can run a roping with three.
- 27:56Yeah. You know, we've learned how to
- 27:58simplify, how to make things easier, how to condense the jobs
- 28:02down. You know, we it just got better
- 28:05over time. And that's what we're expecting,
- 28:07hopefully with the rodeo, we know it's going to be a learning
- 28:09curve there as well. But you know, the thing we need
- 28:12and the thing that we've noticed that makes the biggest
- 28:14difference, it's, it's about who you know, it's not about, it's
- 28:18not about anything else really. You know, you know, the right
- 28:20people, you make the right connections.
- 28:22Well, you'll be. You'll be set.
- 28:24So that's why I was asking like, you know, you guys have a fourth
- 28:27investor now, right. So is that is that person just
- 28:29bringing capital or are they bringing strategic planning or
- 28:32what are they doing? So originally it was just
- 28:34capital, OK? And the reason I say originally
- 28:37is he just took a step back. So the 4th investor is Daniel.
- 28:41He used to be our announcer, OK? He's actually the gentleman that
- 28:43you guys met that you convinced him of giving you a Kubota hat.
- 28:46Gotcha. OK so he started with us since
- 28:49event one, OK, But when he started I called him up one day
- 28:52and I was like yo you're stupid. You say stupid shit, can you do
- 28:57it on a mic for me? 'Cause.
- 28:59I've grown a lot personally. You, if you would have told me a
- 29:02year and a year and a half ago that I was going to be on a mic
- 29:04singing into it. No, Yeah, I was singing my heart
- 29:07out last night announcing for our event.
- 29:08So bad. Oh, shut.
- 29:10Up where was last night's event at Roadrunner?
- 29:13Oh cool. Yeah, don't listen to him.
- 29:14You know how? Many times I turned around, I'm
- 29:16just looking at this guy. I'm like, shut your mouth, dude.
- 29:19Beautiful, bro. It was, it was, it was
- 29:21electronic issues. OK.
- 29:22I didn't have it, tuned it. Was just people just try to
- 29:25rope. You can just hear him.
- 29:26He's like singing like. Yeah.
- 29:28Show them how. Show them how do it do it, Yeah.
- 29:31Wait, you're actually singing? Yeah.
- 29:33Singing. Singing into the mic.
- 29:35Wow. And then there's like people try
- 29:37to rope. I'm like, this guy's probably
- 29:38distracted. They're trying to be a second.
- 29:43So you get obviously you're getting far more comfortable
- 29:45behind the mic, right. So you're doing more announcing
- 29:47now that he's not doing it. Yeah, OK.
- 29:49Yeah, very cool. It it was a that was a huge
- 29:52learning curve. Yeah.
- 29:54So what kind of help are you guys looking for for the rodeo
- 29:56coming up at Grit and Glory? Vendors is our biggest part.
- 30:00Vendors, we just want to pack the house, you know, make sure
- 30:02that whoever gets to attend can just be able to shop, be able to
- 30:06enjoy food. You know, we got drinks coming
- 30:08out. We're working with Crescent
- 30:10Crown to be able to provide the beverages.
- 30:12You know, we're, we're ready for it.
- 30:14She got food trucks and stuff like that coming out.
- 30:16And then another thing is just like having enough riders for
- 30:19everything, we, you know, we want to make sure.
- 30:21I'm sure we will. But you know, as time gets
- 30:25closer, you know, I talk to people, talk to bull riders,
- 30:27talk to bronc riders and they're just like, oh, we just want to
- 30:30make sure we're going to be an able body by the time we get
- 30:33there. So we haven't seen too many sign
- 30:34ups. So we're, you know, of course
- 30:37there's like things going through our head like, oh, is
- 30:39there going to be enough? Oh, is there, you know, but we
- 30:42hear from just about everybody that they're gonna go.
- 30:44We'll see if people go. Through SO is registration open
- 30:46now? Yes, registration will be open
- 30:49up until the day before. Yeah, OK.
- 30:51How many bull riders you got in there right now?
- 30:54In the open, I think we're only at 2:00.
- 30:57Trev, sign up, buddy. You'll probably win this one.
- 31:01I mean, he wins up at the Buffalo Chip and stuff anyway,
- 31:03so I love that. Yeah, he was on one of our first
- 31:06guests. Awesome.
- 31:08But yeah, we have a little more on the time to vent side right
- 31:11now for the open. I just got confirmation this
- 31:14morning that we do have I think 22 confirmed junior and far
- 31:17riders though. Oh, cool.
- 31:18Yeah, so that'll be pretty fun as well.
- 31:20They they ride their hearts out, man.
- 31:21Yeah. Yeah, we went to one of their
- 31:23events. It was, it was awesome.
- 31:25It was normally seeing those kids.
- 31:27It's Burl, man. It's crazy.
- 31:28Yeah. Yeah, we're signing Drake up for
- 31:30it, too. Awesome for the.
- 31:31I'm waiting for it, bro. Huh.
- 31:33I'm waiting. Yeah.
- 31:34See that name pop up? I'll.
- 31:35I'll let you know. See it?
- 31:36Yeah. Drake will be in there.
- 31:38Mimi's will be in there. Yeah, probably.
- 31:39Help you too. Happy work.
- 31:41Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:43He's going to pay down her and then he'll actually work.
- 31:45Yeah. Afterwards.
- 31:46Are you guys going to be like running the shoots in the in the
- 31:48back too or? Lacey handles all that.
- 31:50Lacey care of that, yeah, which eventually we want to learn how
- 31:53to do all that good stuff. We want to get our own stock at
- 31:55some point, but one step at a time.
- 31:58Right. Yeah.
- 31:59Yeah, yeah. I think like end goal like 30
- 32:01years in the future is US putting everything like, yeah,
- 32:04me having to make calls just for advertising and vendors.
- 32:07Yeah, You know, we have all the sound, we have all the stock,
- 32:10all the equipment, like that's that's dream and goal, you know.
- 32:15But yeah, 'cause Shane and I had talked at one point like it'd be
- 32:18cool to be a, a stock contractor, like get our own set
- 32:20of stock and like, kind of like what Lacy does, but.
- 32:24Or even like putting on like we would, we'd even thrown around
- 32:27like putting on a rodeo too. But we just.
- 32:30Don't we don't know what to do? Yeah, we don't own goats or
- 32:32anything. Yeah, and goats is the first
- 32:35step, brother. Yeah.
- 32:36Just go go buy some goats and get Verde.
- 32:38Yeah, well, no, and that's why I was asking like what are you
- 32:42guys looking for for future partners, because it might be
- 32:44something that you know worth having a conversation about
- 32:47instead of start from scratch. Maybe we just figure out how how
- 32:50to blow what you have up existing I'm.
- 32:53I mean, I'm excited to be able for you guys to let us go out
- 32:56there and, you know, do the, yeah, recorded podcasts.
- 33:00And we have plans on walking around, talking to people,
- 33:04talking to vendors, talking to fans, you know what I'm saying?
- 33:07So yeah. Yeah.
- 33:09So we'll definitely be out there spending some time.
- 33:11I know, like on our side, you know, there's been writers
- 33:14that's, you know, reached out to me like, hey, you know, what's
- 33:18this rodeo? And I'm telling them, hey, sign
- 33:20up and if you do, you let me know personally.
- 33:22So that way, you know, when we're recording, we could get
- 33:26you on and we can, you know, interview you about your ride.
- 33:28You know what I'm saying? So I'm excited to add that.
- 33:32Just it's just going to be a different part of a rodeo,
- 33:35right? I don't see much podcasts.
- 33:38Yeah, recording an episode at a rodeo.
- 33:40At a rodeo, which is. Or a lot of engagement with the
- 33:43crowd, right, where we can go up and spend time with the crowd.
- 33:45Ask him, hey, what do you like? What would you like to see
- 33:47differently? Like, I know the girls want to
- 33:49ask, like, some random questions.
- 33:51Like, what makes you the least cowboy out here?
- 33:53Yeah. Things like that.
- 33:55I got a lot. I got a lot of.
- 33:57Them what's that? Said I got a lot of them.
- 33:59A lot of things that make you at least cowboy, yeah.
- 34:01Oh, yeah. Oh, I gotta be a cowboy first.
- 34:03I'm not. Yeah, I don't.
- 34:04Really. You rode your horse all the way
- 34:06over here last night and then rode it home.
- 34:07Yeah, I'm a horse rider. Oh, OK, Whatever you say, Shane.
- 34:13That's funny. What?
- 34:17Who who's your guys's like role models like your 'cause you
- 34:21know, you talked about your family and that's how you guys
- 34:23grew up. Is there is there any like role
- 34:25models that kind of you guys look after or?
- 34:30Yeah, I got a couple uncles of mine, bless their souls, man.
- 34:35They taught me how to work, you know, they and I got 1 uncle in
- 34:39specific. That man, he's got no education,
- 34:43but you put him to do something and he will sit there and you're
- 34:46like, dude, he's just stupid. He's sitting there like, what
- 34:47the hell is he doing? He'll sit there 5 minutes later,
- 34:50he's like, I know what to do. He'll disappear for like an hour
- 34:52and come back with all the tools he needs and fix it.
- 34:55You know, that's how I basically look at everything now.
- 34:57I'm like, OK, let's take a step back.
- 35:00What do I got to do? You know, this rodeo, we, we
- 35:02took a step back. I was like, yeah, let's what do
- 35:04we need? You know, we made a checklist.
- 35:05We're like, OK, we need, we need the vendors, we need arena, we
- 35:08need our contractor. Our contractor was a given.
- 35:11You know, Laci's my first call. I didn't pick a date until she
- 35:13told me. These are the weekends you can
- 35:15do it on, you know, And then from there I went and found the
- 35:18arena, you know, So we basically took a step back, saw everything
- 35:22that we needed and we're like, cool, let's go at it.
- 35:25You know, it wasn't everything, but having 75% of it done and
- 35:29known about ahead of time, we probably did not cut ourselves
- 35:33as short as we would have if we just went into it right away.
- 35:37Yeah, it'll be cool because now you'll understand what it takes
- 35:39to put one of these things together.
- 35:41So like the next one, it'll it's just going to continually get
- 35:43better, right. And the more you guys build your
- 35:45own brand inside the rodeo scene, now the riders are going
- 35:48to start looking for those events.
- 35:49Yeah, very cool. Now relationships outside of
- 35:53Dylan's and four O 6. Obviously you guys were just at
- 35:55the Roadrunner. So what other locations are you
- 35:58guys hosting events at? We also do Hanson's every once
- 36:01in a while. The Cave Creek scene seems to
- 36:03have been a little slow recently, so we have it just
- 36:06because our schedule's been kind of packed right now.
- 36:09But last season, Hanson's was a big one for us as well.
- 36:13And this, this season, I mean, we try to fit in more, but we
- 36:17already had about 85 scheduled ropings for just.
- 36:20This season, yeah. Wow.
- 36:22So from maybe around August or so till probably the around
- 36:28June, we had about 85 scheduled ropings and we're still counting
- 36:32but. How far out are you guys
- 36:34scheduled? So we have everything up until
- 36:37May? Pretty much, Yeah.
- 36:38OK, OK. June is a huge what if.
- 36:42Yeah, just because it all depends on the Ropers.
- 36:45That year. You know, if it, if we have a
- 36:47June like last year, we'll probably rope all through it,
- 36:50you know, or yeah, 2525. And this year we did.
- 36:53We did great in June. We're probably one of the few
- 36:56rodeo companies that did do great in June.
- 37:00It was our probably second biggest average.
- 37:02And then, yeah, that one. Was good.
- 37:05July hit tanked after. Yeah, it's too.
- 37:08Hot yeah, after 4th of July we were like, yeah, we're not doing
- 37:10that next year. So I I think July and August are
- 37:14probably our hardest months and everything came back in
- 37:16September. Yeah.
- 37:17Now, is this all you guys? Is this your guys''s full time
- 37:20job? Is GOAT open?
- 37:21Or God no. No, I'd be broke dude.
- 37:24I'd be living in a cardboard house.
- 37:25What do you guys, what do you guys actually do for for?
- 37:28Work. So I I do a little bit of
- 37:31everything really, but sell houses mainly, yeah.
- 37:34Oh, you're in real estate too? Well, wholesaling.
- 37:36So yeah, OK, so make some money there.
- 37:38And that, that's what keeps me afloat because I'll tell you,
- 37:41there's no, there's not really money.
- 37:42And go roping. Money's not money at all.
- 37:45Our I think our ropers make more money than we do on a night.
- 37:47You, yeah, you got it. You got to love it.
- 37:49You. Yeah, it's.
- 37:50About building a reputation right and branding.
- 37:52Yeah. And so we, we really have to
- 37:54look at that bigger picture because there was at some point
- 37:57where it was just, he wasn't able to come out there all the
- 37:59time. And it was just me, my brother
- 38:02and our buddy Daniel. Man, it gets so tough.
- 38:04It gets so tough. We're out there.
- 38:06And I was, I was loading up the trailer one day and some, you
- 38:09know, some older fellow passes by.
- 38:11He's like, you really love this, huh?
- 38:12He's like, I don't think you make much money.
- 38:13And I was like, oh, Gee, thanks, bud.
- 38:16But but you know, I sat back and I was like, man, that's, that's
- 38:19so true. Like we really have to like it
- 38:22'cause there's not too much money in it, in the GOAT roping
- 38:26at least. And it takes a lot of effort,
- 38:28believe it or not, but hopefully, you know, hopefully
- 38:32we can turn put it on some rodeos into, into something
- 38:36good. We want to get into maybe doing
- 38:38some actual team ropings, hosting some team ropings, still
- 38:42trying to figure that out. But we got to get into that
- 38:46scene and kind of heard about it first because we know they're
- 38:48low particular about the way they they do things, and
- 38:51rightfully so. Yeah.
- 38:53But me personally do some wholesaling contractor work and
- 38:58then. I'm a service advisor.
- 39:01For who? It's called 3A Automotive.
- 39:03OK, So I started as a mechanic, OK, Work slowed down.
- 39:08Tried running my own business for a while.
- 39:11I'm not a marketing guy, so that slowed down.
- 39:14And I just got started with 3A Automotive.
- 39:17Great company. I think I'm going to love it
- 39:19there. Very cool.
- 39:19Yeah, Yeah. So I spent 20 years in the car
- 39:22business before. Oh nice.
- 39:23Before getting my prison release so but yeah I, so I spent, I
- 39:29mean service advisor director, but yeah it's but I worked at
- 39:35big dealerships so it was 8090 hour work weeks and I didn't
- 39:40spend a whole lot of time with my wife and kids so I got out of
- 39:42it but. Dang so you so you just sell
- 39:45houses? Like what does that sell?
- 39:47Houses wholesale? Wholesale.
- 39:49Wholesale houses. What you do is let's say you
- 39:53have this pillow here, right? Ioffer you maybe $5 for the
- 39:57pillow. You say, yes, I think it's kind
- 39:58of ugly and I want to resell, maybe reshape it and sell it
- 40:00again. So just selling it to an
- 40:02investor. I'll tell the investor, hey,
- 40:04I'll you know, if you buy it off of me for I'll give it to you
- 40:08for $7.00, he'll go and sell it for 10.
- 40:12OK, so I'm just the middle man. You're just flipping houses.
- 40:14Just the middle man on a flip. So you're not Even so you're not
- 40:17doing any of the rework on the House.
- 40:19You're selling to investor that's going to do all the work.
- 40:21You don't need any any licensing for that either.
- 40:24Gotcha. It's quite nice.
- 40:26So, so you're buying people that are either ready to go into
- 40:29foreclosure or something like that and then flipping those.
- 40:34I don't do much of the foreclosure.
- 40:35OK, feel a little bad for sure, You know, don't want to
- 40:39necessarily be reaching out that way.
- 40:41But, you know, if some people can make some money when they're
- 40:44getting foreclosed, I'll help them out in a sense of, hey,
- 40:47your house is getting foreclosed.
- 40:49You know, if you want to still make some cash, we can work
- 40:51something. You know, depending on how much
- 40:53they own the house, maybe we can get you some money, by the way,
- 40:55you know, just for good. Start up on another house.
- 40:58Sure. How'd you get into that?
- 41:02So I was, I probably studied it for about a year and what was
- 41:07it? High school?
- 41:08I, I saw it online and I was like, I just can't be real.
- 41:11Looked into it a little bit and I mean, sure enough, I'd, I'd,
- 41:16you know, like everybody, you know, trying to do some
- 41:18research, trying to look at YouTube videos, buying courses
- 41:20and whatnot. Then the first this, I got
- 41:23really extremely lucky and it gave me a lot of drive for it.
- 41:27I put out a deal one day and on the first day I'd started
- 41:32marketing it actually, I sold the house.
- 41:35That was really interesting and I got really into that.
- 41:39And then just I noticed that a lot of people weren't doing
- 41:42mailers like mailing out stuff. And you don't necessarily have
- 41:45to do that yourself. You could pay companies these
- 41:46days to go ahead and, you know, send out cards for you.
- 41:51So I send out some of these cards that look like checks and,
- 41:54you know, basically show people what, what their house could go
- 41:58for and how much they could receive for it.
- 42:00And I'll just work that online and I get leads that way.
- 42:04And then once that comes in, they'll go in and sell.
- 42:07So that's who keeps texting us. They want to buy a house.
- 42:11I don't, I don't, I don't call people, I don't call people and
- 42:13I'm proud of that cause golly man, those are annoying.
- 42:16I tried to deposit one of them checks before in my bank account
- 42:19didn't work out but not working. Dude, that's dude, that's so
- 42:24cool man. I mean, that's very intriguing
- 42:27'cause you're only 20 years old, you know, and like just hearing
- 42:33going on YouTube, you know, teaching yourself, like, what?
- 42:36Do you like a Gen. Z, Right.
- 42:37You guys are Gen. Z's or something?
- 42:40What is it? Yeah, Gen.
- 42:41Z's Z. Right, we're a little uneducated
- 42:44to that, but. I know me too, but I mean like
- 42:47seeing like young, young men, like coming up and just hustling
- 42:51dude, you know, I mean, I feel like being like a older guy, 39,
- 43:01but. Older, yeah.
- 43:05Older than them, I'm a little, you know, right.
- 43:07And like seeing like the young, like the youngins seeing these
- 43:10youngins come on up here, you know, and everything, you know,
- 43:13just out there hustling, you know, but like, dude, I think
- 43:17that's freaking awesome because I know at 20, at 19 in, in like
- 43:21high school, I wasn't thinking of like, man, I wonder if I
- 43:24could flip a house, you know what I'm saying?
- 43:26Like, I wasn't thinking of that shit, you know?
- 43:28I was just, I think I was in the military and not even thinking
- 43:33of my future or anything like that, you know?
- 43:36But that's awesome, dude. We couldn't even get him to
- 43:37brush his teeth at 20. No, actually, let me tell you a
- 43:41story. So.
- 43:43I need that open up something. I was in like 7th grade or
- 43:46something, right? And I'm driving and my mom,
- 43:50you're driving. No, no, I was driving or I was
- 43:52riding in a car with my mom that was driving.
- 43:55But we're like driving, right? And well, my mom was driving and
- 44:01I'm like talking to her. And my mom will tell you that
- 44:04this never happened, but I remember this clearest day I'm
- 44:06talking to her and she looked at him and she goes, did you brush
- 44:09your teeth? And I'm like, yeah, she goes,
- 44:11your breast stinks. And after that I was like, and
- 44:15I'm like, damn, it does stink, you know?
- 44:17And after that, dude, like I brush my teeth every freaking
- 44:21day, no matter where I am. I.
- 44:23Would hope at least what? And, and my tongue and my
- 44:25tongue, you know, I mean, sometimes, you know, sometimes I
- 44:29miss a day. This is how the podcast got
- 44:31started is that he's like, dude, we should do a podcast.
- 44:34And I'm like, why not? We'll just record us
- 44:35bullshitting all the time. And how long have you guys known
- 44:38each other? So there's a funny story.
- 44:41Who? Me and Nate.
- 44:42Yeah, so this is the cousin that I didn't believe existed, right?
- 44:45So Sam and I have been together 11 years and she's always like,
- 44:50I have a really cool part of my family.
- 44:51And I was like, no, no you don't.
- 44:57And she's like, no really, you're really going to like him?
- 44:58I was like, so for years I was like, these people don't
- 45:01actually exist, right? And kind of background to how we
- 45:05even all got together was Sam and I lived in surprise.
- 45:08I took a promotion in Texas. So my office was based out of
- 45:12Texas for almost 2 years. Well, they wanted me to move
- 45:14there. So he sold everything.
- 45:17And then we ended up running into them up at Dillon's, and
- 45:21Sam was like, oh, this is a lot of fun.
- 45:22These are the cousins that I always wanted you to meet.
- 45:24And I was like, yeah, I don't know yet, Right?
- 45:26And then we all got to hanging out and having a good time.
- 45:29And then sure as shit, we end up buying their exact same house
- 45:31out here. And then she's like, I want to
- 45:33live the ranch life. So I was like, OK, well.
- 45:35Like Nate was not like he would just call me every day, every
- 45:39day. Like Jane, what are you doing?
- 45:41I'm like, Nate, calm down, bud. Like.
- 45:44He remembers the story way differently than it actually
- 45:47had. I'm.
- 45:47Trying to do laundry right now man, you know.
- 45:50You're trying to do laundry. Trying.
- 45:51To watch Natalie do laundry. Right now, OK Is Jane and I are
- 45:58second? Yeah.
- 45:58Yeah, yeah. Oh, wow.
- 46:00Yeah. So this is the baby is 6.
- 46:02Yeah. So like there's 21 years between
- 46:04me and my oldest. Sister.
- 46:07Yeah. Wow.
- 46:08Yeah, and it's a big family, too.
- 46:11Huge family, yeah. So how?
- 46:13Many siblings does your mom and my grandma have?
- 46:16Gosh, there was like 8 or 9, OK 8 or 9 or something like.
- 46:23That yeah, yeah. Big white Midwestern family.
- 46:30Nice. Yeah, he just looks the part.
- 46:32Yeah. Yeah, well, my doesn't like
- 46:33spicy food. Well, my dad's Mexican.
- 46:36Yeah, right. And even on his side, we have a
- 46:39big family, too. Like the same thing with my
- 46:42grandma. But yeah, my mom's white.
- 46:49Yeah. Do do you guys speak Spanish?
- 46:51Yeah. You do?
- 46:52Yeah. Lucky.
- 46:54Ohh, you don't. You don't know Spanish?
- 46:55I don't know Spanish guy. This dude doesn't like Mexican
- 46:58food. And I worked at and I worked at
- 47:00Home Depot. Wow, I know.
- 47:01OK, but the inside of the outside?
- 47:03The in the paint department. He didn't get it.
- 47:07He didn't. Ohhh yeah, yeah.
- 47:12Yeah, you gotta give him time to process I.
- 47:14Told you I was half white dude, so obviously it's in the on the
- 47:18inside you. Guys don't remember dial up.
- 47:20You don't remember dial up Internet, but that's Chain's
- 47:22brain you. Have no no.
- 47:26Well, sometimes if I'm making he's.
- 47:29He's trying to. See, like if I'm making fun of
- 47:30you, though, if I'm making fun of you, I'm like, I'm like high
- 47:33speed right there. But if you're making fun of him.
- 47:35It takes 7 minutes to process it.
- 47:37Well, I don't. I don't really know you that
- 47:39well yet. Yeah.
- 47:40So I don't know. Somebody said something just.
- 47:42Yeah, yeah, just say that. But I get it.
- 47:43I'm not with you. I'm not with you.
- 47:46Yeah. So I worked at the paint
- 47:47department. Nice.
- 47:49They they put you, they put you there because you didn't know
- 47:51any Spanish. They just hand you the samples
- 47:53and you're just like, hey. Dude, I'll be like I was.
- 47:56I was like fixing shelves and stuff and yeah, somebody come up
- 48:00to me. Hey, right.
- 48:03And I would try to sound as wide as I could to let them know that
- 48:07I did not speak Spanish. So I'm like, hey dude, what's up
- 48:11bro? No Espanol.
- 48:13Let me get somebody for you, you know.
- 48:16Can I get some of that? Pico de Gallo de Gallo.
- 48:21We were actually when, when I was in the Navy, when I was in
- 48:24the Navy, we went on this humanitarian deployment in to
- 48:28like Peru, right? And so they speak Spanish down
- 48:34there. I was with my 2 white buddies,
- 48:37right? They're from San Diego, blonde
- 48:40haired, blue eyes, as white as you could be, right?
- 48:43Surfers, right? Good looking handsome young men.
- 48:47And I'm and I'm there with them, right?
- 48:50And we go to this bar and the bartender looks right at me and
- 48:53goes right. And I'm like, and I point to my
- 48:58buddy Bracket. Now, mind you, he's trying to go
- 49:01into the Border Patrol, so he knows Spanish.
- 49:03And then I point to him and like, he just starts going off
- 49:07like, you know, and then she, like, what the Hell's going on
- 49:12here? Your, your your white friend.
- 49:14Yeah. Knows Spanish.
- 49:15Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 49:17Yeah. Like, fluently.
- 49:18Well, you don't. I don't know.
- 49:21So the White's no excuse, huh? So the white part's no excuse
- 49:24then? I mean, it could be.
- 49:27But you were halfway there, and I was.
- 49:29You were still under. Yeah, yeah.
- 49:30But see, like, I didn't, I didn't grow up in the in the
- 49:32Hispanic culture, right? Because that the Hispanic
- 49:36culture for me was in California and we lived here in Arizona,
- 49:40you know, and we just, I just hung out with my mom's family,
- 49:43you know? But I mean, don't get me wrong
- 49:45way I could hang, you know? What I.
- 49:46Mean I can move my hips like hey, you know what I mean so.
- 49:51He can jam to some Banda, but Oh yeah, he just can't speak any of
- 49:54it. Yeah, he just.
- 49:55Can't. I don't know what they're
- 49:55saying. Yeah.
- 49:58I don't think anyone does that. I can't say.
- 50:00When you're that's true, when you did that little invitation
- 50:03of like what they come up to you and say, that's probably the
- 50:05most accurate. Oh dude, like I can invitation.
- 50:08I could probably act like I sound Spanish like if I or yeah,
- 50:13speak Spanish like. Yeah.
- 50:14So there was another funny story when I was in Indiana.
- 50:19OK, I was working in this it like rednecks everywhere, right?
- 50:24And I'm like the only colored that's in my shop and all, all
- 50:31the all the lineman and everybody we'd be like, hey, you
- 50:34know, try to act like you can speak Spanish to these people
- 50:36or, you know, just do something like that, right?
- 50:38And I'm like, no, no, no. But we were on the storm call
- 50:41one time and we just got done working.
- 50:44We put up some wire and I go in this backyard to start cleaning
- 50:47up all the mess. And this like white lady comes
- 50:50out and she's like, she's pointing to like this phone.
- 50:54Like there's like a phone cable that fell on her yard.
- 50:58She's like, hey, what is this? And she's like looking at me and
- 51:01like all the lineman are behind me and I'm like, oh, I don't
- 51:05know, No, no English, no English and.
- 51:10That's the only part he knows. Yeah.
- 51:12And then my, my buddy Zach, he's he's a a lineman and he's
- 51:16standing right there. He's trying not to laugh, right.
- 51:19And like, I don't know. And then like, everybody else is
- 51:22back there just crying, laughing, right?
- 51:24They're like, and they had no idea I was going to do that.
- 51:27But yeah, I don't speak Spanish. So we say all that just to say I
- 51:34don't speak Spanish. Oh shit.
- 51:38But it's hilarious. So yeah.
- 51:39But I'm always down to learn. Duolingo to learn what?
- 51:42Duolingo. Duolingo.
- 51:43That doesn't work. That doesn't work, but it's
- 51:45probably better than whatever you got right now.
- 51:47Right. Well, he damn near learned how
- 51:48to speak Chinese when we were in Vegas.
- 51:50Oh nice, when we were in the Tesla.
- 51:53How was how? How was that?
- 51:56What? Learning how to speak.
- 51:57Chinese. It's it this dude will talk to
- 52:00anybody about anything, right? And I'm not I'm not playing.
- 52:04So we get we call an Uber and it's a Tesla and we're like, oh,
- 52:09none of us have ridden in a Tesla yet.
- 52:11So he gets in and starts touching shit, right and starts
- 52:14playing around the front. So he looks over and the guy is
- 52:17maps is in Chinese Mandarin or Mandarin, whatever.
- 52:21So he starts asking all kinds of questions by the time we get
- 52:24there, like, he's got a full background on like, he's like,
- 52:28what's our, what's your favorite Chinese food here?
- 52:29And he's like, you guys don't have Chinese food here.
- 52:32Yeah. So it, it was just really funny.
- 52:34But it doesn't matter What Car we're in.
- 52:36He's talking to the driver and getting a full breakdown on
- 52:39their lifestyle before you get to wherever you're going.
- 52:42Some of that is curiosity and some of that is like security
- 52:47reasons, right? Like if they are trying to do
- 52:49something I'm distracting them from their mission.
- 52:53Is that that military background?
- 52:54No, no, no. No, no, it's just got that.
- 53:00The floral survival instinct. Yeah, yeah.
- 53:02You always want to have somebody in the front, right?
- 53:04And then somebody sitting in the back behind them, right?
- 53:08Because you don't know. You want to Chuck them out with
- 53:10their seat belt? You could.
- 53:12You could there. You go, you know.
- 53:14You. Always you, Always you.
- 53:16Always got to be ready. You always got.
- 53:17To be ready. Dude, there was there was one
- 53:19time we went to Vegas and I was with my sister-in-law and her
- 53:24son who went to Circus Circus. We went to go get a taxi.
- 53:27We were trying to get a taxi. This guy just pulls up.
- 53:30I mean, dumb ass us. We didn't like, oh, where's your
- 53:32credentials? He goes, hey, where are you
- 53:34going? And I was like, we're going to
- 53:36the Venetian and he's like, all right, you know, 20 bucks.
- 53:40I'm like, all right, we jump in there and like by the time we
- 53:42get out, was he doing a taxi? No, he wasn't.
- 53:45We did that. Yeah.
- 53:48Yeah. Really.
- 53:48Yeah. Same thing and he.
- 53:50Was like. Where you guys want to go and?
- 53:51They just like looked at. Each other.
- 53:53He's like, all right, all right, he goes.
- 53:54It's going to take two hours to. Get.
- 53:59Neighbor, I'll do it. For 20 wow, given this van.
- 54:02And I'm like, it's Vegas. Yeah, immediately.
- 54:04Like I. Get on my own maps.
- 54:06Yeah, like map out. Where we were going to make sure
- 54:11he was. Actually taking his revenue.
- 54:13Yeah, yeah. So, I mean, I had my suspicions
- 54:16with that guy, right? So I sat in the back behind him
- 54:21because. He was behind the guy.
- 54:23Yeah, you were the guy behind the guy.
- 54:24Exactly. He was ready to choke him out
- 54:26with the seat. Belt I had to get that little
- 54:27you. Know what I mean?
- 54:29Or in your guys case little right?
- 54:35Am I right though? I've never lived that life, but
- 54:40yeah, I've heard about. It No, you guys don't whistle,
- 54:43No. No, I mean I whistle, but not
- 54:45that way. You.
- 54:46Know. So how do we so back to kind of
- 54:49why you guys are here to talk about great glory.
- 54:51This Shane goes down this rabbit hole of how he doesn't speak
- 54:55Spanish, doesn't like spicy food.
- 54:58What? What else is really UN Mexican
- 55:00about you? Who me?
- 55:01Yeah, everything. No, not everything I look it.
- 55:07No, I'm just I can dance. So how what, what can we do to
- 55:12help you guys with the grit and glory?
- 55:15And how do people get signed up? Signed up for.
- 55:19So whether they want to be a vendor or they want to ride what
- 55:23whatever it may be that you guys need support with.
- 55:25Awesome. So vendors is a text or an
- 55:28e-mail to me and then I can, you know, send a contract, stuff
- 55:32like that. Super easy.
- 55:35Wickenburg's special with the requirements, but I mean none of
- 55:38it is out of control for yeah, a regular vendor.
- 55:41Yeah, OK. And if and if you they just
- 55:43reach out to us, even on Instagram, we can get their
- 55:46contact information from there. So we'll get your Instagram
- 55:48handles. We'll post that on the on.
- 55:50The honestly, if anyone reaches out on Instagram, I can handle
- 55:52it all through there, OK? Also too, we have their link on
- 55:55our BIOS right? Yes.
- 55:57To sign up for tickets and sign up for.
- 55:58Tickets. Thank you.
- 55:59Thank you. Yep.
- 56:00Yep. OK.
- 56:01And there's that promo code for you guys.
- 56:03Yep. Yeah, for 10% off.
- 56:05Yeah, I don't, I don't remember it, but.
- 56:07Particularly. It's rad.
- 56:08It's rad. Cast rad Cast Yeah.
- 56:10Yep. So use rad cast to sign up to
- 56:13register, yeah. I just know it works all right.
- 56:15Forgetful fella. Right.
- 56:17Very cool. I like to, I like to go down
- 56:19there. I like to go go there and check
- 56:21it out the yeah. The whole the arena, Yeah, yeah.
- 56:24It's a nice arena, yeah. We got to go check it out.
- 56:26Maybe we could do like a little video, maybe like a week or two
- 56:29before. Yeah, we can do that.
- 56:30Go out there and yeah, record that.
- 56:32Yeah, let's do it. Yeah.
- 56:33Go make like a little video. Hold on real quick.
- 56:36You did say that you rode, right?
- 56:37Were you? Were you?
- 56:38Were you riding? Bulls or so I always had that
- 56:41like I was saying, I had that curiosity and I was like, dude,
- 56:43let's just do it for the dad lore, like I I want to get on.
- 56:46So I got, I got on three times. No, yeah, 3 * 3 times this last.
- 56:54So that first time I went a super nervous man, but I had a
- 56:57buddy who had helped me out the whole way.
- 56:58He had all the gear and all that good stuff.
- 57:00So went out to Roadrunner just on a random Thursday.
- 57:05And then I was so nervous. But it's the funniest ride, too.
- 57:08I couldn't. You know how you got to keep
- 57:10your front arm? You know, your free arm, it's
- 57:12kind of stiff, you know, nice moving, you know, helping
- 57:15control your balance. Dude mine was just flopping up
- 57:18and down. I'll send you the video, you can
- 57:19cut it in. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 57:22He spent the whole 8 seconds slapping the bull.
- 57:24Not, not. 8 seconds slap, not slapping, but it's just jingling
- 57:28up there. It's just, yeah, yeah.
- 57:33So I had to go back and get my redemption the second time
- 57:36around. So I got the ride, but then it
- 57:39was funny and it was, it wasn't a, it wasn't a crazy.
- 57:41You got a ride in your own event.
- 57:43You know what I was thinking about it, but probably not.
- 57:46Why? Probably not well.
- 57:49Do it for the lower man. I know, I know, but imagine I
- 57:52have to work the rodeo and I'm just all broken off to the side.
- 57:56But imagine. But imagine.
- 57:58Imagine if you rode out. One and one you're on a vet,
- 58:03nobody will think it's rigged. Nobody will, your bull goes.
- 58:07Out. He's going to be on that bull
- 58:08that just walks out, get goes 8, gets a score of 50 and still
- 58:12wins because nobody. Else rides, nobody else plays.
- 58:16That'll be funny. I know we've been.
- 58:18I always try to rope when we're out there, go roping.
- 58:20This guy's always like, no, what if you win, dude, I can't catch
- 58:23for Rudd. I very easily learned that not
- 58:26to care because none of us are going to win.
- 58:27Yeah. There's, there's some guys who
- 58:29are real good out there. Oh.
- 58:30Yeah, Oh yeah, Some of these kids, yeah, some of these kids
- 58:33when they're walking into Dillons and they're just like
- 58:36throwing on dummies and stuff, I'm like, damn.
- 58:37Dude, we've had, we've had under a second.
- 58:41For our really. Time Yeah, 0.75 seconds.
- 58:45Wow. For a catch a clean, catch the
- 58:49head and the heels. That's crazy.
- 58:50Yeah, that was out at Roadrunner, but some guys off
- 58:53the Reds came and snatched up that that winning.
- 58:55We're used to that shit. They're going out to get dinner.
- 58:59You laugh. I'm being serious.
- 59:00Yeah. Yeah.
- 59:01That's crazy. Man, some some people drive out
- 59:04pretty far to come and rope with us.
- 59:05We had one guy last night drive out five hours.
- 59:08Wow, his entire family, dude and.
- 59:10He puts on goat ropings on the rise.
- 59:12Really. Yeah.
- 59:13He just wanted to compete and not have the stress of putting
- 59:15on an event. He said that they got snowed out
- 59:18pretty much for the season. Yeah.
- 59:21Have you guys ever thought of going up north?
- 59:23Like going to like Williams Rodeo maybe?
- 59:26Or we thought about the William Knight's Rodeo a little bit.
- 59:28They just don't have the what's it called?
- 59:32The demographic, The demographic for it.
- 59:35Oh, OK. Or the everyone that goes there
- 59:38is either a passerby just right in through the 60s.
- 59:40I saw that there was a rodeo or not to see the 40 or the
- 59:45contestants themselves. And I don't, I don't think they
- 59:48do roping events up there right now.
- 59:50They buck bulls. They buck Bronx.
- 59:52No, not right now, but during. During the summer they do,
- 59:54Summer they do. Yeah, did.
- 59:56They yeah, the William Knights Radio, they did everything out
- 59:58there. Oh, that's right.
- 59:59They did. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:00:01Which it might be worth it for us to go check it out during the
- 1:00:03summer, Yeah, but for sure, maybe during around the season,
- 1:00:08you know, we have a good amount of people down here.
- 1:00:11Yeah. Wickenburg and at Cave Creek.
- 1:00:13And then we do private events, too.
- 1:00:15We've had a couple, like nonprofits reach out to us and
- 1:00:17they'll be like, hey, you know, mutton busting doesn't draw a
- 1:00:20crowd as much as you guys do. You can come out and do it over
- 1:00:22here. That's cool, you know.
- 1:00:25That's awesome, yeah. Like we did 1:00 we we partnered
- 1:00:29up with the nonprofit and basically we split our proceeds
- 1:00:31half and half with them. We did a buckle series.
- 1:00:34They they paid for our time to come out and they paid for the
- 1:00:36buckles. And then everything that was
- 1:00:38made there, we split 5050 with them back to the nonprofit.
- 1:00:41Yeah. That's very cool.
- 1:00:42Like that? Yeah.
- 1:00:44For sure. Where, where can where can
- 1:00:47people reach out? GoDaddy roping GoDaddy.
- 1:00:51Roping, that's what. Instagram, GoDaddy roping.
- 1:00:53Yeah, Instagram, Facebook. Pretty sure that's our TikTok.
- 1:00:55Too. That's our TikTok.
- 1:00:57And the nice thing about having a funky name like that is that
- 1:01:00nobody's username is GoDaddy roping.
- 1:01:02Yeah, we have that GoDaddy roping all put together.
- 1:01:05Everything for everything. Our website, everything.
- 1:01:07It's just GoDaddy roping. All together and the events
- 1:01:11January 30th January 31st event starts at 5 right that's the
- 1:01:15plan right now come check us out rad cast will be out there you
- 1:01:19know helping out So what else you want everybody to know about
- 1:01:24for the the rodeo anything else we can do I.
- 1:01:28Think that's pretty much it. Show up, show.
- 1:01:30Up. Everybody better be there.
- 1:01:31We'll have to show up, show out. Trev, I'm calling you out.
- 1:01:34You better come win this one. Awesome.
