- 0:14Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:18Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:22Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, Raz Sharma and Jerry called well, today is day,
- 0:30Speaker 1: August eighth, twenty twenty five. I still have a little
- 0:33Speaker 1: bit of that chest congestion, which just makes me the
- 0:36Speaker 1: right amount of respe to sing Friday, very sexy, Yeah,
- 0:42Speaker 1: channeling my inner Miley Cyrus fred Day. Actually that sounded
- 0:47Speaker 1: like Ricky Rocket or something.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Else, the drummer from Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I realized as I said it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I sound like the one armed drummer from Boys.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It's one order drummer from def Leppard.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Sorry, all cross stuff, I'm on, I'm on med leave me,
- 1:05Speaker 1: alumpe Who did I sound like? Just then? Uh?
- 1:13Speaker 2: If you're gonna go like.
- 1:17Speaker 1: What what?
- 1:23Speaker 4: Jerry might want to catch that one.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yep, that's fair, tree, that's fair.
- 1:31Speaker 2: What did I sound like? Crap?
- 1:33Speaker 3: That's I would go a little Sebastian bach I could
- 1:37Speaker 3: I could hear that?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah, in my head it sounded pretty cool like.
- 1:41Speaker 2: For yeah, yeah, that's a little Sebastian Baki. I like it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: There could be a little bit Cinderella. Oh yeah, finally,
- 1:51Speaker 1: not only my pretty pretty princess. But I'm a second
- 1:54Speaker 1: tier eighties band.
- 1:58Speaker 2: They were a great bands, Deerella.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I'm not saying they weren't, but compared to other eighties greats,
- 2:04Speaker 1: they were second tier. I mean, they're not Motley Crue,
- 2:06Speaker 1: they weren't poisoning, they weren't deaf leffard they were they.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Weren't trying to be right. So there was a late
- 2:11Speaker 2: seven name was Cinderella.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I don't think you get more eighties than that.
- 2:15Speaker 3: No, No, they were late seventies. So listen to Gypsy
- 2:17Speaker 3: wrote that'll that'll yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Late seventies, early eighties, so they.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Had to do that for the record label.
- 2:22Speaker 3: They had to start putting up power ballads and stuff
- 2:25Speaker 3: like that to just keep up with the times. But
- 2:27Speaker 3: they were never trying to be hair metal, all right.
- 2:32Speaker 5: They faked it really well, tease the hair and everything,
- 2:38Speaker 5: and for that check you would do.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Look the whole. Maybe they're the reason fake it till
- 2:44Speaker 1: you make it holds up, because they did and it did,
- 2:49Speaker 1: all right. So today is you know what day it is,
- 2:59Speaker 1: Idaho already searching for a dead body, found something way worse.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Someone's discarded sex doll. Okay, yeah, because I know you're thinking, well,
- 3:12Speaker 1: if you're looking for a dead body, what could be
- 3:14Speaker 1: worse that you found somebody's discarded sex doll? Yeah, exactly
- 3:20Speaker 1: searching the Blackfoot River. A three hour search for what
- 3:25Speaker 1: initially appeared to be a body in the Blackfoot River
- 3:28Speaker 1: ended up being a life sized silicone female companion doll.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Hmmm.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I you know, big props to the East Idaho News
- 3:41Speaker 1: for dancing around so cleverly. What that thing is a
- 3:46Speaker 1: companion doll?
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you can take it on the plane. It's a
- 3:52Speaker 2: service doll. Literally, it's all right.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I got papers for it. You can imagine the leash service.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Doll cabbage like a cabbage match doll like. It's got papers, papers,
- 4:10Speaker 2: wearing a vest.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We cannot put this in the overhead ben It is forbidden.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It all stored. It all started last Thursday morning around
- 4:19Speaker 1: nine thirty a m. Cariboo County Sheriff Adam Maybe said
- 4:25Speaker 1: someone had reported seeing a body in the river around
- 4:28Speaker 1: about sixteen miles northeast of Soda Springs. The Blackfoot River
- 4:33Speaker 1: flows from the Diamond Creek area and connects to the
- 4:36Speaker 1: Blackfoot Reservoir. Deputies flew drones along a stretch of the river.
- 4:39Speaker 1: During the search, a team went in the water around
- 4:42Speaker 1: twelve thirty in the afternoon. Once the alleged body was found,
- 4:46Speaker 1: Sheriff Maybe says, when my team went in and pulled
- 4:48Speaker 1: it out of the water, that's when they realized it
- 4:51Speaker 1: was just a life size companion doll, which I imagined
- 4:56Speaker 1: those guys immediately dropped and go put it back, put it.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Back, and there's somebody who's really sweating a DNA test.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Hard.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Also, what a great name for us.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Sheriff Maybe, Yeah, maybe Sheriff Maybe Sheriff did he do it?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Uh?
- 5:22Speaker 1: Maybe says the doll had been in the water for
- 5:25Speaker 1: quite a while by the time they found it. It's
- 5:27Speaker 1: unclear who it belonged to or how it got there.
- 5:29Speaker 1: The search crew took pictures of the doll, but maybe
- 5:32Speaker 1: didn't have any on hand. First of all, nicely played.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Second of all, yes they do. He may not that
- 5:44Speaker 1: they do, despite investing time and resources into something that
- 5:49Speaker 1: ended up not being an actual emergency. Sheriff Maybe says
- 5:52Speaker 1: he'd rather go all out and make sure we did
- 5:55Speaker 1: everything properly at a scene than to rush in and
- 5:57Speaker 1: do something and find out we should have done something
- 5:59Speaker 1: more or this whole story has generated a lot of
- 6:02Speaker 1: jokes and stories and really interesting Facebook comments. Sheriff maybe
- 6:06Speaker 1: goes on to say, I was hoping it to blow
- 6:08Speaker 1: over and no one would ever hear about it. But
- 6:11Speaker 1: I can also see that it's an interesting.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Story, but it blew up.
- 6:20Speaker 5: May not be an emergency to you, but it's probably
- 6:22Speaker 5: an emergency to somebody.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Blew up.
- 6:40Speaker 6: You're listening to the Treehouse.

- 6:54Speaker 8: You're in the Treehouse.
- 6:56Speaker 9: Visit us online a Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It is proven that the Treehouse Show makes everything better.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I lived it earlier this week when I went out
- 7:08Speaker 1: to get in my car and in my driveway discovered
- 7:10Speaker 1: at a flat tire. So I did what anyone should do.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I looked up online just to make sure I knew
- 7:18Speaker 1: exactly how to use the tire jack I'd never used
- 7:20Speaker 1: on my twenty eighteen JEP Grand Cherokee, and I turn
- 7:22Speaker 1: on The Treehouse Show to get me through the boring
- 7:25Speaker 1: and tedious function of changing the flat tire into the
- 7:29Speaker 1: spear tire. You can do that too, whenever you're doing
- 7:33Speaker 1: something you don't want to do anywhere you don't want
- 7:35Speaker 1: to be. The treehouse can be there, laughing you through
- 7:39Speaker 1: it all. So do that today. We appreciate it, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: you can share it with a friend. Trey had that
- 7:44Speaker 1: great suggestion as well, share the show with a friend.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That way you both can do things together not so miserably.
- 7:51Speaker 1: That's why we're here.
- 7:53Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:54Speaker 1: The new season of The Golden Bachelor doesn't start until September,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but the old dude is already in hot water. Mel
- 8:04Speaker 1: Owens mel Owens, the next Golden Bachelor, has already apologized
- 8:10Speaker 1: to the women on his season for saying he didn't
- 8:13Speaker 1: want to date anyone over sixty He is sixty six.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And did anyone have the Golden Bachelor being agist on
- 8:26Speaker 1: their twenty twenty five bingo card I did not.
- 8:31Speaker 4: That doesn't surprise me. But to say no, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 4: maybe don't say it out loud, but yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Like maybe say it to the producers in the interview portion,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but don't say it to all the women.
- 8:47Speaker 2: No.
- 8:48Speaker 3: It's also like, who are the women like coming onto
- 8:52Speaker 3: the show? Like, yeah, beggars can't be choosers up it
- 8:55Speaker 3: say his name is mel Is that what he said?
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Well, and is interesting though when you think about it,
- 9:03Speaker 1: because maybe his justification is, Look, I may be the
- 9:07Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor, but that doesn't mean I'm looking for a
- 9:11Speaker 1: Golden Bachelorette. Maybe he's wanting something silver or whatever fancy
- 9:22Speaker 1: material would be for a twenty five year old.
- 9:25Speaker 2: That's that's platinum.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yeah, so he may be a Golden Bachelor, but he
- 9:31Speaker 1: may prefer silver or platinum.
- 9:33Speaker 2: He's gonna get something gold plated, is what he's gonna get.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Would be an interesting test though. On the first night
- 9:44Speaker 1: of action on The Golden Bachelor, he just holds up
- 9:48Speaker 1: a chrome plated tailor trailer hitch and said, all right,
- 9:52Speaker 1: who can make this disappear?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Is that show like sponsored by cialis like what it
- 10:00Speaker 3: has to be?
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'm I'm sure the uh, I'm sure the pharmaceutical companies
- 10:05Speaker 1: were drooling at the ad buys on The Golden Bachelor. Now,
- 10:10Speaker 1: keep in mind The Bachelor, the Bachelorette, all those shows
- 10:14Speaker 1: were something that my wife and I watched for many years,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and then we watched i think the season after Chris
- 10:23Speaker 1: Harrison the host got canceled, and we just didn't like
- 10:26Speaker 1: it as much. We didn't, you know, the new hosting
- 10:28Speaker 1: thing was kind of part of it, but the rest
- 10:31Speaker 1: of the show is just kind of like maybe just
- 10:33Speaker 1: maybe we finally started feeling too old for some of
- 10:35Speaker 1: the cast members, We're like, Okay, this is again kind
- 10:37Speaker 1: of ridiculous, so we stopped watching, and so that means
- 10:39Speaker 1: we never We haven't seen any of the Golden Bachelor
- 10:42Speaker 1: episodes either, but I'm not watching that.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Is there a Golden Bachelorette? Is there is that happening
- 10:52Speaker 2: as well?
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't know if they did that, because I know
- 10:55Speaker 1: they did Golden Bachelor season one. So the way the
- 10:58Speaker 1: Bachelor worked and has worked for a year is you
- 11:00Speaker 1: had the very first Bachelor and then one of the
- 11:04Speaker 1: runner ups or whatever in the Bachelor season of the
- 11:07Speaker 1: single woman would then go on to be the Bachelorette, right,
- 11:10Speaker 1: And that was the formula. They would just bounce back
- 11:12Speaker 1: and forth and that's how they would get the next
- 11:15Speaker 1: Bachelor or Bachelorette. Was something that was rejected, although although
- 11:20Speaker 1: lasted really long in the previous season, I don't think
- 11:23Speaker 1: they did a Golden Bachelorette.
- 11:25Speaker 5: The Golden Bachelorette had its first season last year. The
- 11:29Speaker 5: Golden Bachelorette.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Was Joan Vassos.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Joan Vosses. Yes, oh, Okay, Well, they did a poor
- 11:37Speaker 1: job of marketing here because I'd never heard of it.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But then again, I wasn't exactly keeping my ear to
- 11:44Speaker 1: the ground about Golden Bachelor news. But when he stands
- 11:48Speaker 1: in front of the women on night one and says,
- 11:50Speaker 1: all right, anyone over sixty gtfo, I guess he's.
- 11:55Speaker 4: A former NFL player, And oh, okay, but the age
- 12:00Speaker 4: range for the Golden Bachelor was like sixty to seventy five,
- 12:03Speaker 4: and evidently he said he wants forty five to sixty,
- 12:07Speaker 4: so gotcha?
- 12:09Speaker 3: Ok all right, yeah, Mel, No, no wants somebody forty
- 12:14Speaker 3: five years old?
- 12:14Speaker 1: Mel wants a milf.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Well, listen, there is something there is it is hard
- 12:22Speaker 4: to wrap your mind around when you were like, when
- 12:24Speaker 4: I say, yeah, I'm dating something someone fifty years old,
- 12:27Speaker 4: it's hard to wrap your mind around that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I know, because if you were to tell me that
- 12:30Speaker 1: one day, Trey, like you call me up and say, hey, Dan,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I got great news. I'm dating someone really really great.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I think she's so special. Oh really, what's your name?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Oh it's blah blah blah. And how old is she?
- 12:39Speaker 1: Oh she's fifty, eh, Trey. But then I realized Trey's
- 12:44Speaker 1: fifty one now, and that's right there with you, And
- 12:46Speaker 1: fifty one is only, you know, five six years older
- 12:49Speaker 1: than me, So I'm with you. It's hard to wrap
- 12:52Speaker 1: our brains around that because for so many years we
- 12:54Speaker 1: were used to thinking a certain age was old. And
- 12:58Speaker 1: while many of us feel it, sometimes times we don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: look it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I don't think any of us look our age.
- 13:06Speaker 3: No, but the Golden Bachelor should just be lucky to
- 13:13Speaker 3: get a girl that but that just survives by the end,
- 13:16Speaker 3: that just stays alive.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Whoever doesn't die by the end of the show wins.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Or apparently kills him.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I mean that that's a bold thing to throw out
- 13:30Speaker 1: there early on in the competitions, like, yeah, maybe the
- 13:32Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor, but I don't want a Golden Bachelorette anyone
- 13:35Speaker 1: over sixty no, thank you?
- 13:37Speaker 3: Wow, Okay, I mean I like his style, I like
- 13:39Speaker 3: what he's trying to do, but I don't I don't
- 13:41Speaker 3: know that's gonna work for this show.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Well, let's be honest. Clearly ABC knew this, but look,
- 13:49Speaker 4: I mean you just google it right now. Every article
- 13:52Speaker 4: you come up with is about this controversy. So they're
- 13:56Speaker 4: getting their money's worth out of.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It, for sure. Advertising them.
- 14:01Speaker 1: On the flip side, you've got a lot of women
- 14:03Speaker 1: in Generation Z saying that they're that they're only wanting
- 14:06Speaker 1: the six six six men. You guys familiar with that
- 14:12Speaker 1: the devil, right, Well, that's all some people would argue.
- 14:17Speaker 1: That's the female side of that equation. So there's the
- 14:20Speaker 1: younger generation of women. Many of them are trying to
- 14:22Speaker 1: raise the bar on what they see as long term
- 14:26Speaker 1: relationship suitability and whatever the standards are. Like, it's like,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you have to meet this minimum requirement in order to
- 14:35Speaker 1: date me, and some Gen Z women are saying you
- 14:37Speaker 1: have to be at least six feet tall, have a
- 14:42Speaker 1: have a six pack, and make six figures a year. Oh,
- 14:47Speaker 1: clearly they have not done the ven diagram of those
- 14:49Speaker 1: three things, because that leaves a very tiny window.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Since we tall, I'll bring a forty and I might
- 14:59Speaker 3: make fifty gre you and I.
- 15:04Speaker 4: You know the problem though, and I've seen some of
- 15:07Speaker 4: these videos, is some of the chicks that are saying
- 15:11Speaker 4: that they haven't seen a gym in five years.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But she knows her worth.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Yeah, she did her weight in the trough.
- 15:23Speaker 2: They don't live on Planet Fitness.

- 16:12Speaker 1: of the videos there, and keep in mind there may
- 16:14Speaker 1: be some interesting and fun surprises coming on our YouTube channel.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Just a little heads up there, So do that. Go
- 16:23Speaker 1: check us out on YouTube the tree House Show. All right,
- 16:28Speaker 1: they say to fly the friendly skies, right, Well, those
- 16:31Speaker 1: guys aren't always friendly. We've learned that over recent years.
- 16:36Speaker 1: But Spirit Airlines, which is an airline that I have
- 16:39Speaker 1: used frequently in my air travels. It's one that Trey
- 16:43Speaker 1: has used a couple of times and is going to
- 16:46Speaker 1: be using again. Raja figured, have you flown Spirit Airlines?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Okay, Jerry, have you been on a Spirit flight?
- 16:54Speaker 2: No?
- 16:54Speaker 1: But you're aware? Oh yeah, yeah, we're all aware. So
- 17:00Speaker 1: Spirit Airlines has been going through bankruptcy since twenty twenty
- 17:03Speaker 1: four because shocker, they don't make a lot of money.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Keeping in mind, the airline industry is a horrible business
- 17:10Speaker 1: to be in. It takes an astronomical amount of money
- 17:14Speaker 1: to get in the airline industry, and the margins are
- 17:19Speaker 1: razor thin, so when airlines come and go, it's really
- 17:25Speaker 1: not that big of a surprise. However, when you're going
- 17:29Speaker 1: through bankruptcy, you assume the company is trying to turn
- 17:33Speaker 1: things around. Spirit Airlines seems to be taking a different
- 17:37Speaker 1: approach because, as part of their bankruptcy proceedings since two
- 17:41Speaker 1: thousand and four, Spirit Airlines has decided to cut and
- 17:45Speaker 1: fire two hundred and seventy pilots, leaving thousands of US
- 17:51Speaker 1: passengers in suspense. You know, usually you don't fire the
- 17:57Speaker 1: guys flying the planes when you're fin bankruptcy. But Spirit
- 18:01Speaker 1: does things, you know, differently than everybody else.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Well, Collin's make a lot of money, so.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I don't think they've made that much at Spirit, are there.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I mean they're not hurting. I mean they're making more
- 18:16Speaker 1: than anybody else on the plane, but I don't think
- 18:18Speaker 1: they make as much as say, you know, a Delta pilot.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I mean the unions there. You're probably right as far
- 18:28Speaker 4: as like the high end, but I mean they're making
- 18:30Speaker 4: six figures. Oh and I'm sure Spirit is cutting their
- 18:34Speaker 4: routes at some point, so they have to shed pilots.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Well you hope. I mean this is Spirit Airlines. They
- 18:41Speaker 1: do things differently. For all we know at Spirited Airlines,
- 18:44Speaker 1: their way to get around bankruptcy might be, you know,
- 18:48Speaker 1: we're going to fire two hundred and seventy pilots as
- 18:51Speaker 1: part of the new Fly Yourself their feature from Spirit Airlines.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I think we stumbled upon a real you know, money
- 19:01Speaker 4: maker for them, which is, yeah, the slap somebody fee.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you're right. There's something to be said for that.
- 19:13Speaker 1: The whack of passenger. Yeah, I would I would love
- 19:17Speaker 1: to do that mm hm. And it really would be
- 19:21Speaker 1: like that scene out of Airplane, just all of us
- 19:23Speaker 1: lined up. One of the most important decisions announced in
- 19:29Speaker 1: Spirits bankruptcy was is starting November first, two hundred and
- 19:35Speaker 1: seventy pilots will be fired. It's part of a broader
- 19:38Speaker 1: strategy to cut costs and adjust its staff to a
- 19:41Speaker 1: new flight schedule, which is much smaller than in previous years.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So Yeah, what they're basically doing is they're just kind
- 19:48Speaker 1: of contracting their overall business model and I they're just
- 19:54Speaker 1: getting smaller. That's the way they're going to do it.
- 19:56Speaker 5: So does that mean fewer flights or fewer people doing
- 19:59Speaker 5: is many flights? Fewer flights?
- 20:03Speaker 1: Basically, they're basically just going to cut a bunch of flights,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and uh, in doing so, they'll be able to eliminate
- 20:10Speaker 1: a number of pilots. In addition to that, they'll be
- 20:12Speaker 1: eliminating I'm sure you know other parts of the flight crew.
- 20:16Speaker 4: You're you're pretty regulated as far as flight crews go
- 20:18Speaker 4: as far as numbers.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Maybe that's the new upgrade. That's the new big seat.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Is the pilot seat. But you still get the drink
- 20:33Speaker 1: package that comes with the big front seat.

- 21:46Speaker 1: I repeat, this next story is not real, but hear
- 21:50Speaker 1: me out. Three senior residents at a Marblefalls, Texas retirement home.
- 21:55Speaker 1: We're caught running an underground fight club behind the utility
- 22:02Speaker 1: shed like in the recreation yard, steering understaffed hours. Again,
- 22:12Speaker 1: this story is not real. However, I think it could
- 22:17Speaker 1: be real one day when people our age start filling
- 22:20Speaker 1: up these nursing homes and we get bored looking for
- 22:23Speaker 1: something to do. Change my mind.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Well, the first rule of club flight club.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Is to not tell anybody about fight club and they'll
- 22:32Speaker 3: just forget anyway.
- 22:33Speaker 1: So actually, I think the first rule of senior citizen
- 22:37Speaker 1: of nursing home fight club could be it doesn't matter
- 22:40Speaker 1: if you tell anyone about it, because they'll forget.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I would pay so much money to see that and.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Even if they tell people, like if they tell the grandkids.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I was.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I was.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I was fighting Tray from six a A knocked out
- 22:54Speaker 1: my teeth, which isn't as bad as it sounds because
- 22:57Speaker 1: they was kind of loose anyway, and I was running
- 22:59Speaker 1: low on Polo Dent. They're gonna think Grandpa's gone crazy
- 23:03Speaker 1: and not think much of it.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the first rule of that fight club
- 23:07Speaker 4: is don't break a hip.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Is there is? I think I think Nursing Home Fight
- 23:14Speaker 1: Club is not going to be an mm A thing.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I think they want to keep it upright. They don't
- 23:18Speaker 1: want you going to the ground because right.
- 23:20Speaker 3: But this is a perfect opportunity for our listeners to
- 23:24Speaker 3: donate for our new movie, which is Nursing Home Fight Club.
- 23:28Speaker 3: That's what we're gonna do this movie. I think that'll
- 23:32Speaker 3: be brilliant.
- 23:34Speaker 1: And honestly, I'm only about fifteen twenty minutes into the
- 23:37Speaker 1: Happy Gilmour sequel, and I can tell you right now,
- 23:41Speaker 1: just based on premise alone, Nursing Home Fight Club will
- 23:44Speaker 1: be way better.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yes, then, I can't believe watching that movie.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Oh I can.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Look, it goes back to what I was telling
- 23:56Speaker 1: you guys. The other day. I'm seriously considering a shift
- 23:59Speaker 1: in career, or at least a side hustle where I
- 24:02Speaker 1: review movies. And it's called something along the lines of
- 24:06Speaker 1: don't waste your time. I'll do it for you. I'll
- 24:08Speaker 1: let you know if a movie is worth your time
- 24:10Speaker 1: by wasting mine.
- 24:14Speaker 4: It's sad. I'll just tell you that.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Happy Gilmour too. Yes, I've already gotten the initial sad part. Yeah, yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 1: it was sad.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 4: No, it's just sad.
- 24:25Speaker 2: And I'm not.
- 24:28Speaker 1: The inciting incident in the film. No, so it actually
- 24:38Speaker 1: does start on a sad note. But you mean the
- 24:42Speaker 1: whole film.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I mean just the reviews alone are so bad.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I don't know why you would watch it, you know.
- 24:51Speaker 4: I I I watched it, and I thought maybe I
- 24:55Speaker 4: knew the reviews were bad, but I thought maybe some
- 24:57Speaker 4: of the cameos and nostalgic moments would make it Okay.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Yeah I was wrong.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So you've seen the whole thing. Yes, good for you. See,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I'm going to finish it. I'll finish it later on today.
- 25:09Speaker 4: And you'll and you'll hate yourself.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm twenty minutes in it. I already hate myself. But
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna finish it because I'm one of those weirdos
- 25:17Speaker 1: that feels the need to complete things even if I
- 25:20Speaker 1: don't like it. It's like, well, you know, at least
- 25:22Speaker 1: let me watch it. Maybe I'll get something out of
- 25:23Speaker 1: it somehow, some way, if nothing else, it gives me
- 25:26Speaker 1: something to talk about on the show, which clearly it does.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And ros you said something earlier and I was just
- 25:34Speaker 1: gonna mention it.
- 25:35Speaker 2: And now.
- 25:38Speaker 4: I do think because evidently Carl Weathers was supposed to
- 25:41Speaker 4: be a big part of it, of the movie, and
- 25:43Speaker 4: obviously he died right before they started shooting, I think
- 25:47Speaker 4: he might have helped.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Having to tell them.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Yeah, he read the script and was like, I'm out
- 25:57Speaker 4: the script.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I didn't think about that. Maybe that's what it was.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Maybe it was that, like he was fine, he was healthy,
- 26:05Speaker 1: he was looking forward to the Mandalorian movie. He couldn't wait.
- 26:09Speaker 1: And then he got the script for Happy Gilmour Too
- 26:11Speaker 1: and was like, oh, hell no, this can't be my
- 26:15Speaker 1: last film.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Hey really, Netflix pays you how much?
- 26:24Speaker 2: And scene.
- 26:28Speaker 4: I mean, I'll give Adam saying to the credit, I
- 26:30Speaker 4: mean he is trafficked off basically one character for thirty years.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, And I like that he puts all
- 26:40Speaker 3: of his buddies in his films like they're all getting
- 26:42Speaker 3: a payday.
- 26:43Speaker 1: There was. And again I'm only like twenty minutes into
- 26:47Speaker 1: Happy Gilmore too. And you mentioned his friend Zentner in it.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Steve Bushimi already had a very lasting impression on me
- 26:53Speaker 1: in this film, just based on his first scene. That
- 26:57Speaker 1: was quality.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Right there, he's entertaining. John Daly is entertaining.
- 27:03Speaker 1: He's really good so far.
- 27:05Speaker 4: That's and there you go.
- 27:11Speaker 1: They should put that on the poster outside the theater.
- 27:14Speaker 1: It's like Happy Gilmour too. There you go.

- 27:40Speaker 6: You're listening to the Treehouse.

- 27:47Speaker 1: Jesus, it sounds like a snot factory inside the Treehouse
- 27:50Speaker 1: right now. If you like the Treehouse show, then you
- 27:53Speaker 1: will love us on social media. Give us a follow
- 27:56Speaker 1: today at Treehouse on Air is our handle across all
- 27:59Speaker 1: social media platforms. That's at Treehouse on Air. Give us
- 28:03Speaker 1: a follow today. Speaking of today, today is Fred Day,
- 28:11Speaker 1: August eighth, twenty twenty five. That's the wrong button. Hang on,
- 28:15Speaker 1: let's celebrate with some birthdays. I'll be goddamned. So you
- 28:30Speaker 1: know how we started the show with me saying I
- 28:32Speaker 1: sounded like an eighties front man by singing Fred Day,
- 28:36Speaker 1: and I said Ricky Rocket for some reason, even though
- 28:38Speaker 1: that's stupid because he's not even the lead singer. He's
- 28:40Speaker 1: the drummer. Ricky Rocket is sixty five today.
- 28:45Speaker 8: Wow.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Okay, another great example of birthdays coming into play unexpectedly
- 28:52Speaker 1: because I do not preread the birthdays before the show.
- 28:57Speaker 1: I just pull them up right before we do the
- 28:59Speaker 1: segment and go through them. I had no idea it
- 29:01Speaker 1: was going to be Ricky Rocket's birthday today, and I
- 29:03Speaker 1: just happened to name him earlier.
- 29:05Speaker 8: Dude, that one's weird.
- 29:07Speaker 1: That's very weird. I could really good if I could
- 29:10Speaker 1: just do that with lotto numbers. Oh no, no kidding,
- 29:14Speaker 1: all right? Today is uh Fred eight man. I feel
- 29:18Speaker 1: like I sound like six twenty two, nineteen fourteen eighty
- 29:22Speaker 1: three and the powerball is four. Okay, someone Jerry write
- 29:28Speaker 1: those down and send them to me. I'll try those
- 29:29Speaker 1: this weekend. Got true fingers crossed. Ricky Rocket poisons drummer
- 29:34Speaker 1: is sixty five today Jesus an actually good singer Sean
- 29:39Speaker 1: Mendez is twenty seven. This next birth I'm sorry, Sean
- 29:42Speaker 1: Mendez is twenty eight. This next person I think is
- 29:45Speaker 1: a singer. The song they're best known for is I
- 29:51Speaker 1: Like Me Better. Love is thirty two today. Lauv luv.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Anyone know who love is?
- 30:00Speaker 8: Not a clue.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I think it's a guy based on his Instagram well,
- 30:11Speaker 1: happy birthday, law for being thirty two. Roger Federer, Swiss
- 30:18Speaker 1: tennis stud is forty five today. Not only is he
- 30:22Speaker 1: a fantastic tennis player, one of the best ever, but
- 30:26Speaker 1: it's also really smart because he's one of those guys
- 30:28Speaker 1: that turned a brand deal into major money, because he's
- 30:32Speaker 1: one of the guys responsible for the On Running brand.
- 30:36Speaker 1: The on Running brand, I believe if I have this correct,
- 30:38Speaker 1: is a Swiss shoe manufacturer and they were running shoes
- 30:42Speaker 1: and everything, but they teamed up with Roger Federer for
- 30:45Speaker 1: an endorsement campaign. And Roger Federer is one of those
- 30:48Speaker 1: athletes says like, look, I'm super rich, I don't necessarily
- 30:50Speaker 1: need your money, So I tell you what, I'll take
- 30:52Speaker 1: some money, but in lieu of massive amounts of cash,
- 30:57Speaker 1: give me a piece of the company, so they did so.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Roger Federer probably now makes more money from the on
- 31:05Speaker 1: running brand than he does actual tennis. And there's a
- 31:10Speaker 1: lesson in there. If you can do this, this is
- 31:12Speaker 1: a great blueprint on how to be successful. Take whatever
- 31:15Speaker 1: it is you're doing, and if you can find a
- 31:17Speaker 1: way for you, whatever your day job is, to fund
- 31:20Speaker 1: another thing, do that thing. It's kind of like diversifying yourself.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't know how I would do that as a comic.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Podcast along with all the rest of the comics of
- 31:37Speaker 1: the world, TV showing basic cable. Grey's right, it's pretty
- 31:43Speaker 1: much you have you're a comic podcast. Yeah, but it's
- 31:47Speaker 1: like your buddy Bert Kreischer did, And lots of celebrities
- 31:49Speaker 1: have done this. They'll take money that they've made in
- 31:52Speaker 1: their career of choice, like Bert Kreischer doing it with
- 31:55Speaker 1: stand up comedy. And then what did he do? He
- 31:57Speaker 1: then started up his own tequila brand, didn't he vodka Vodka?
- 32:02Speaker 1: He started up his own liquor brand. George Clooney did
- 32:04Speaker 1: this with Cindy Crawford's husband, Randy Gerber, which is still
- 32:07Speaker 1: a weird name. Took all the movie money dumped it
- 32:11Speaker 1: into tequila. Now they made more money on tequila than
- 32:13Speaker 1: they did on movies. Oh yeah, the Rock is doing
- 32:16Speaker 1: it left and right with various things. He's taking all
- 32:19Speaker 1: his movie money and investing it in other things, making
- 32:22Speaker 1: tons of money on that.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Teremania, I think this is tequila, mm hmm.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And that's a very good tequila. And on top of that,
- 32:29Speaker 1: he's also in deep with under Armour. He's been one
- 32:32Speaker 1: of the main reasons why under Armour is an actual
- 32:35Speaker 1: player in the shoe game.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Oh okay, because.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Before that it really it was just there. But thanks
- 32:44Speaker 1: to the success of under Armour, Nike has been sweating
- 32:46Speaker 1: for years and they've been losing market cap like crazy.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Look at me sounded like a no business. Trey's looking
- 32:53Speaker 1: at me like a vulcan with the eyebrow up.
- 32:58Speaker 4: I don't think under arms will been making Nike sweat.
- 33:02Speaker 8: I think they.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I think they.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you go look other birthdays today it's a boy
- 33:09Speaker 1: band slew here.
- 33:11Speaker 2: J C.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Chase from Endzync is fifty wow. Drew Lache from ninety
- 33:16Speaker 1: eight Degrees is also fifty ow. So the boy banders
- 33:21Speaker 1: are getting their ARP cards today and not to be
- 33:27Speaker 1: left in the lurch. Creed's front man, Scott stap Is
- 33:31Speaker 1: fifty three. I imagine he welcomed his art card with
- 33:37Speaker 1: arms wide open.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I had an Uber driver the other day that was
- 33:43Speaker 3: playing Creed in the car and I couldn't really figure
- 33:45Speaker 3: out why.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I go, gee, do you like Creed?
- 33:48Speaker 3: He goes huge fan, That's all I play in this car,
- 33:52Speaker 3: and I was like, oh, okay, thank god, this right
- 33:54Speaker 3: is short, much like much like their career.
- 33:59Speaker 1: There's no way he was serious about that.
- 34:05Speaker 2: He named off the songs that he loves.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Well, what I mean is there's no way. He only
- 34:12Speaker 1: plays Creed in that car.
- 34:13Speaker 3: That's all that played in that car. And he said it,
- 34:16Speaker 3: He's like, this is on I just keep on this
- 34:18Speaker 3: on repeat. And I was like, first of all, I've
- 34:21Speaker 3: never heard anybody out loud ever say I'm a Creed fan.
- 34:27Speaker 1: I am. But of the movies, yes, Creed movies, very
- 34:32Speaker 1: very good, Creed band.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I'm like Creed Apollo.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Okay, No, that was his jam and that's all that played.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I was like, please God, let this ride in. Yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Oh man, I've gotten into some questionable ride shairs, and
- 34:51Speaker 1: with the Uber and the lift, I don't think I've
- 34:55Speaker 1: gotten into one that's been that dramatic, or that ho
- 35:00Speaker 1: on a particular band and only that band gets played
- 35:04Speaker 1: in the car. I've been stuck in a sealed car
- 35:07Speaker 1: with no air conditioning going from Carrollton to Dallas for
- 35:13Speaker 1: love Field early in the morning, stuck listening to something
- 35:16Speaker 1: at like four point thirty in the morning on NPR
- 35:20Speaker 1: that was rough. Yeah, I might have welcomed Creed at
- 35:24Speaker 1: that point.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Katie and I had an interesting uber ride on our
- 35:29Speaker 5: first date, going from North Dallas out to Billy Bobbs
- 35:35Speaker 5: to see Willie Nelson. Guy pulls up and we get
- 35:39Speaker 5: in the car and we're driving along, you know, and
- 35:40Speaker 5: we're looking at each other, and you know, there's canoodling
- 35:43Speaker 5: and all that, and then all of a sudden, the
- 35:45Speaker 5: guy in the front seat says, all right, folks, are
- 35:48Speaker 5: actually I hear like this beeping sound. And he says,
- 35:51Speaker 5: all right, folks, you're going to hear a blowing sound
- 35:56Speaker 5: for just a few moments.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Do not be alarmed.
- 35:59Speaker 5: The guy reached is over pulls out the tube. Okay,
- 36:06Speaker 5: everything's fine, don't be alerted.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Your your uber driver was a drunk and he had.
- 36:12Speaker 5: The the the un mounted under the dashboard and At
- 36:15Speaker 5: first we looked at each other like okay, but then
- 36:18Speaker 5: we realized, if he's got to be sober to make
- 36:20Speaker 5: that thing work, we're in the safest uber mhmm.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Yeah, then we want in my respect.
- 36:26Speaker 3: When my Uber driver told me how Creed, I had
- 36:28Speaker 3: to look look at him to make sure it wasn't
- 36:30Speaker 3: Scott Staff.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Scott's staff would be left.
- 36:45Speaker 8: You're in the Treehouse.

- 37:27Speaker 1: the Treehouse on Air dot com. Have so Yes, Scott
- 37:54Speaker 1: Stap is fifty three today. Scott Stap frontman of Creed,
- 38:00Speaker 1: is fifty three today. And No, as far as I know,
- 38:05Speaker 1: I don't think he's taken to Uber driving, or as
- 38:08Speaker 1: Trey very accurately pointed out, if Scott's Staff was going
- 38:13Speaker 1: to be a ride share driver, it would obviously be
- 38:15Speaker 1: with Lyft.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Yeah, their other hit was higher and now it's hire e.
- 38:24Speaker 1: That's right, because Raj, you were saying you couldn't think
- 38:27Speaker 1: of another song of theirs.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, the arms wide open thing, like that's the only
- 38:32Speaker 2: song I know. Yeah, because he would always bring his kid.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Out with him and singing the song and then in
- 38:37Speaker 3: my head just being the comic, I just imagine like
- 38:40Speaker 3: trying to do that twenty years later and he's still
- 38:42Speaker 3: got his kid in his arm.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Hey man, you gotta make that money. It's either that
- 38:46Speaker 1: or go or go back to driving.
- 38:47Speaker 2: The lyft or his bicycle that he was on.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Look, at a certain point, people get you know. You know,
- 38:59Speaker 1: careers can be cyclical, especially when it's in the entertainment field,
- 39:02Speaker 1: whether it's movies, television, you're in a band, you're a singer, radio,
- 39:09Speaker 1: those things can can go up and down the blink
- 39:12Speaker 1: of an eye.
- 39:13Speaker 4: And and and normally I feel sorry for people, but
- 39:16Speaker 4: he You will seldom find anyone who says anything but
- 39:19Speaker 4: he is an a hole. Yeah, So you know that's
- 39:22Speaker 4: like when I was doing production work for iHeart and
- 39:25Speaker 4: I had to cut a promo because he was doing
- 39:28Speaker 4: a record signing at Walmart and rock Wall. I found
- 39:32Speaker 4: it just incredibly entertaining.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Was that was that during his break?
- 39:42Speaker 1: And you're right, I mean, it's it's one of those
- 39:44Speaker 1: things like if you like the guy that was seen
- 39:48Speaker 1: at Trader Joe's who used to be on The Cosby Show,
- 39:51Speaker 1: and people said, oh my god, how's sad for him?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. It's like, man, the man's making a living,
- 39:55Speaker 1: leave him alone. But there was no rumor about him
- 40:00Speaker 1: being a giant a hole, so there's immediate sympathy. It's like, ah,
- 40:04Speaker 1: that sucks. He was on a really successful television show.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Nothing really else happened, so he's just got a normal
- 40:08Speaker 1: job like everybody else. Scott's staff, on the other hand,
- 40:11Speaker 1: as a giant a hole, and the fact that he
- 40:15Speaker 1: had to do a record signing at the Walmart and
- 40:17Speaker 1: rock Wall makes a lot of us go good.
- 40:22Speaker 2: That makes me so happy.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Yeah, because it really does. It really does matter if
- 40:26Speaker 1: you're a giant jerk. If you're a giant jerk, we
- 40:29Speaker 1: love to see you fall.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yes, because you should at that.
- 40:35Speaker 3: I mean, like, here's the thing you signed up for,
- 40:37Speaker 3: the gig, you got, the gig, you made the money,
- 40:40Speaker 3: be cool about it, right, right, Like if you start
- 40:45Speaker 3: being an a hole about things like that's when I
- 40:47Speaker 3: see when I see you at a Walmart and rock Wall,
- 40:51Speaker 3: that's I'm like, I'm buying this album to give it
- 40:57Speaker 3: to return it to see what Walmart's return policy is.
- 41:04Speaker 1: That's actually an interesting Uh, that's an interesting idea. Like
- 41:08Speaker 1: if you had gone to Scott Stap's record signing at
- 41:10Speaker 1: the Walmart and Rock Wall he signed like you buy
- 41:13Speaker 1: the thing, then he signs it. Then if you try
- 41:15Speaker 1: to immediately return it to Walmart, can you get more
