Transcript
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: welcome back to the show, Caitlyn Anthony.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad you're here.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Caitlyn is a graduate of IGC, a great friend of mine, and I purposely brought her on because there's this massive influx I have seen of people leaving the world of like health, fitness, gyms, and coming into coaching.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: And Caitlyn is case in point.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: She is someone who has built a massive coaching business, but
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: started kind of in a completely other lane.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: So Caitlin give a way better introduction to his I'm so happy to be here as, you know, any time I'm asked to be in the IGC world, you know, I'm like all in all hands on DAC, let's go.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so, yeah, I mean, hi, everybody.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Caitlin.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: I am, as Liv said, IGC grad.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also an ICF accredited coach, and I run the beam life, which stands for be everything and more.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I am a business coach for female entrepreneurs, mostly in the service base world, who are really looking to hit that first.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: 10k month and not only just hit it one time, but then have that like really juicy recurring revenue where ultimately your business is kind of running on autopilot and you're really able to
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: be a mom and dive into your life and do all the things that we do.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm really passionate about that.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, other things about me is I'm a mom.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also queer and I also love fashion and all things pink.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: boring beige embodied.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: But somewhere you make boring beige looks chic.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: So we're here.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's just yeah with a pop.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: You belong in LA.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I've got to say.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not fancy enough.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: But okay, Caitlin's journey goes from, so she's been a fashion stylist, she's been in the fitness world, owned a gym, but how do you go from gym to full-time coaching business?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's the first question, but I have other details that the people want to know about.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you get a divorce.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm just joking.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's the truth.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: I had a list for all great things this evening.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really long check one done that opens in a completely new portal and it's like the permission slip to do whatever the hell you want.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just immediately picture like a butterfly.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, breaking here we go.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's time to fly.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and in in seriousness, I did own the gym with my acts.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: And so going through that divorce period, I kind of had to make a decision and I was like, do I want to continue into the fitness world or do I want to look at something else?
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: And at that time, I had really only known fashion or fitness.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I went and kind of like did some side jobs with the friend of mine who had a gym a little bit like, you know, 20 miles outside of where I lived.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: And a couple of the clients there were like, have you ever really thought
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: And at the time I had also started, yeah, and at the time, I mean, it makes sense once you know you, but I didn't realize that's how it started.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I had had the podcast and I was kind of like talking about my divorce journey.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_02]: I was like doing these group fitness classes.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: And at the time, like, I feel like some people still feel like like this, but really truly life coaches have way more respect on the name than they did then.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of like something I felt was cheesy.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm being honest,
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I was also doing some work for a book publishing company and I met Katie and I just thought it was so wild that we were like working on her book and that's when I really started being like, okay, I really like this girl, she's cool.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm reading her book about her life coaching company.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody asked me if I would be a life coach.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and I've been coaching people forever, whether it's through their style or their health.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Read a minute.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love fitness.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love coaching.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what am I doing?
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, enter IGC and, you know, it's been an amazing journey ever since.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're kind of like the quintessential story of like a woman who's like, has, has, has, has, like, multi-passionate entrepreneurial.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: That was it to bring all of these areas of your life.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think about you and I even look at you like you're so fashionable.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: You're so like creative energy.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: You're great at speaking so you have this podcast.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're, I think the fitness world really lends itself at two, the coaching world because, and even think about like Katie starting her.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: whole glow which was a spray tanning company and then she found that she was always talking to people about what's going on on the inside.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like the same, it kind of like, coaching is a way to like tie a bow on all of your interests and make them come together in a service that people will actually pay for.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: of 1,000% and it's actually the thing that creates the transformation and not was the link that I was seeing.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, oh, you can teach someone all day long about health and fitness, but if they're sabotaging themselves with their beliefs or their self-esteem or the people they go and hang out with when they leave the gym, none of the things you taught them matters,
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: from that internal place, and it seems like we all know that, but really, it takes someone to get in there and do the work with you and not what I found.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, this is what I'm passionate about, because once you unlock that, and someone, people will really become like unstoppable.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen some of the most incredible things happen.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, me a little bit more about.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: So you went from gym to I know you were doing some personal training after the gym clothes, right?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: What is the actual pathway from like gym owner to full-time coaching business?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: multi-six fake year earning world traveling like how long did that actually take?
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, break it down for people because I think totally it's just like a quick jump and you go from one thing to the next and to God be the glory if you have that kind of income or savings but I know yes most people's reality.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I even say like people who have big followings and all of that stuff, that's a really good perk to have, but it doesn't guarantee that overnight success either.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: It is definitely like consistency, finding your lane.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: And so if I think about this like, you know, at the time of this recording, where at the end of 2025, I've been going out this since the I started my podcast in November of
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: I graduated in spring of 2021 from IGC.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: So it's been, you know, like, I kind of took the time classes.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, in the COVID, like so we were at the end of COVID when I not at the end of COVID, but like we had already like in that mode.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I was like working underground because God forbid somebody do any training during a COVID.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I was doing a lot of like underground behind the scenes job working for a, so I had side jobs is what I'm basically trying to say and I think that's the other thing is a lot of people coming into coaching, maybe you have a part time or full time job.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: and it's like keep that.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: It was those side jobs that allowed me to really like open the pathway and just be a little bit crazy with my dreams because I was like okay I'm not putting on this pressure on myself to completely replace my income and I really feel like looking back that was one of the smartest things I did was
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: let that be a little safety net for me of like I know this is income that's going to come in while I go and build and create these other things.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: And so I started like how we tell most people in IGC to start, which is one on one coaching and I feel like a lot of people want to skip that
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: But really, it was the one on one client I had that helped me figure out exactly who I wanted to coach, how I wanted to coach, develop my methodology a little bit, figure out how I could make this community kind of click and work and I think you can make a lot more mistakes and one on one, if I'm being honest and I mean mistakes like you're learning, you're actively practicing something, you're trying on new things with people.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: versus like when you're doing that in a one-on-one setting versus in a big group setting it's so much more relaxed and you're able to, you know, kind of do these different try these different things.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I really started with one-on-one and then as that developed as my podcast started to grow, I really started to get into social media and like leverage that as a tool visibility is really important and
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think that that was one of the, you know, looking back again, finding my lane, figuring out, I want to work with entrepreneurs, how do I talk to entrepreneurs, what is it that they need and developing programs based on what is the demand that I'm seeing right now.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, that started to grow into a membership group coaching program, and I also do international retreat.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, don't ever be coming, but yeah, I love coaching so much as such a transferable skill that you literally do anything ways that just like make you happy like even think like you having your podcast like some people love this.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: They love to chat.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: They love to see content, but what do you actually sell it?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: You need a certain you need an offer still to make money from it.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: 1000% a thousand a thousand, but people like I'm just going to start a podcast and like,
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so people are going to listen and it's like, for what?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: What are you putting all this energy into?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: Where are you going to send them?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and like, yes, you can wait around to get monetized through ads, but why?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Why, like, you are the thing.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_02]: Make the ad for you.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I'm 100% on board with that and and also being a mom's like you said creating a life and a business on things that you're passionate about.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean for me with my daughter having the needs that she does it's important for me to have flexibility and for me to create opportunities that I can be flexible that I can be available in the afternoon and I feel like.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: we hear that a lot in like a promise from a lot of different industries and I really feel like coaching is actually something if you continue and follow through with, you can create those realities and you can create that for yourself.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I loved travel and I was like, how can I figure out a way?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: to bring women together because I don't want to travel alone.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: I want to travel with you why like, see the world.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Have fun and like get paid doing it.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: How can I make this work?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I was like, well, I'm going to create an international retreat.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like, why wouldn't I do that?
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, we've been to Costa Rica.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: This Slovenia will be the fourth.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: So we've been to Costa Rica, Bali, Greece.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: We did a business retreat in Joshua trees.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: So technically, this is like the fifth
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so fun.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: So fun.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I have a very intrusive question to ask, which is such thing.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: I knew you'd be gay.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: You want to break down the numbers, because we, yeah, just a nap on here all the time about like you can slap life's coach on your bio, but it doesn't always warrant the paycheck.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you actually get trained, you actually get credentialed like you have, you can confidently charge higher rates.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I think yes, because you can technically charge whatever you want, whoever you are does not matter, but just because you put the cost on your website doesn't mean you're going to be able to get on the call with someone or in person with someone and they're going to pay you that amount.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's the energy shift that I think being trained certified credentialed has.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: So tell us, like, what are you charging for your packages?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, how is this different than the world you came from?
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I have three tiers on how you can work with me.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: I have my highest, which is one on one.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I always am like, anybody that I coach with who's wanting to like expand their offer suite.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: Proximity is where you can really charge.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: So it's when someone's like getting into your world they have your one-on-one attention.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: So my highest package is one, two, two, two a month, and that's for two calls a month.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that includes, you know, like boxer access and whatnot, but a lot of the group has just over $1200 a month for one client.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: One per client.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: Per client.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then my group coaching is $850 a month.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: And there's easily anywhere between five and ten women that'll join those group containers.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: So that is another 8 to 10,000, depending on how many people you have joining.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then I do have my like what I call my entry level membership, which is 99 a month.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: And that is where we just meet as a community.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, I always say that's not me coaching.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's more facilitating really good community and conversation.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that's how I like distinguish.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's facilitating conversation and really giving these women opportunity to be like, hey, oh, wow.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually dealing with that, too, or how can I support you?
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a lovely environment, but also two calls them up.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: So low lift, I do not do any weekly calls with any single one of my clients as like that was something that was a hard boundary for me where I was like, okay, I don't need that much time with someone.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I really wanna call in women who are wanting to
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: take responsibility for the dreams they say they want and they just want guidance.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: They don't need someone to do it for them.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: They're wanting the support and yeah, it's so how does that compare to the gym ownership?
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I mean, I feel like Rick and Mark Mortimer, it like service base work for Homer, just so different in terms of expenses.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: So when people are like, oh my god.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was $1,000 to start a business.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, my best friend is still paying like a $600,000 loan.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, for a store.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I, a thousand percent like when we opened the gym, it was like, you have to buy equipment.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: You have to put triple, I mean,
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: like amount rent rent yeah rent insurance a security deposits all of things plus we have like a staff so like so much overhead versus like i rent an office for five hundred and sixty dollars a month and you don't even need that I only do that because I love that I miss why because I could have it look like this it's a hot pink like like what does it look like you're looking for anywhere.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I get dressed up and I come to my office and it's my place.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: I can leave a pile of paper on the desk and it's going to be here when I come back tomorrow.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I can be moved.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, many fridge microwave.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: We have champagne.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're ready to go.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Hello.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Anytime.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, when are you coming here to do the podcast?
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'll do that.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: I will do that.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: So you can go from like extensive overhead brick and mortar to a coaching business.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you tell me because my feelings aren't really valid, but I'm sure they are, but yes, tell me.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: What do you feel, because I remember when you had first graduated and you were still taking personal training clients, yes, and yeah, so why did you, like,
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: complete with personal training or finished personal training to do strictly coaching.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, it's curious.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I wanted to leave the world of fitness for a long time, but like I was saying that was bringing an income.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: And there was that initial fear like, I'm cutting this off.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I also felt bad.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I had to work with these women for a long time.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I actually really love these people.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't want to say goodbye to them.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: And there was like this whole, it was a lot of fear around money, just like,
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: cutting off an income stream like that seems absolutely crazy.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: Why would someone do that?
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what do people feel about leaving their nine to five?
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Business.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like at some point.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a trust.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: At some point.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: And that was what I started to look at.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: And like the biggest thing for me is I thought about what amount of money does my business need to be bringing in for me to say goodbye to these fitness clients.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: And you live in like one of the most expensive things when I tell people like how much you make them like, but then you forget I live in Los Angeles.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: So let's let's make that reality.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I like nice things and I never apologize for that.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, it's okay because I know I really appreciate that about you too because I know you're part and I know how much you're such an amazing person, you're such an inspiration, you're such a great mom.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: You don't not need to get a Chanel bag or you you're still allowed to love nice things and be a good person.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: We are still Yeah, especially as women and men don't do this men are never Jizing for the new G wagon in the driveway or the new midlife now or whatever it is.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: Women have this weird thing where we're like, oh, I don't own people to like judge me if I like nice things.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, to rewrite this connection between like money being the root of all evil.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: And we've said this and I do see so many times.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's money in the hands of women who know what to do with it.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Good women with money is the thing and good humans with money, I'll say, because I also know some good men with money.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: I have a couple of gals that, you know, do contracted work for me.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, Michael is to help you get more, like, help, she helps do, like, graphics, she helps with my content and social media stuff.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: She does some like copywriting for me.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, Michael, because I know Caitlin, if you're making more money, I'm going to make more money.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, yes, Queen.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, because I love being generous.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, you're one of the most generous people I know.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, yes, I love treating people.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: I love spending money.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: I love making money.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we, like, yes, I could go on it.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I could have a whole lot of tasks about how much I want to love money.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: You're more of who you are.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, business with an evil heart or an evil plan or a summer or like a thief or whatever.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that intentions you have money is just going to magnify that, but we haven't meant to this with pure vision heart purpose and it doesn't mean you're perfect.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean you're like no, or no, do you go.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: It just means that you're a good human and the hardest part is getting the good humans to want to make money like I know.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know because it's like so many of our like I want to do it to to get into coaching to like help people and so of course we all want to help people Of course most everybody wants to help you but but also like
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you want to like have some freedom and some fun and flexibility and like be able to pay for nice things and have like that I don't give a shit money like why why would you not want that and it's okay to say you want that and and so anyway like I said I could create a whole podcast around stop demonizing people who say they want to make money because
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: it really keeps women quiet and small and it's unnecessary because there's enough money for everybody.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't enough money for everybody and it's interesting to see who's available for that belief.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because I wasn't available for that belief for a long time until my principal when I was public school teacher said to me, like, your pockets are not deep enough to have
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, mmmm, that is, man, gross.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: I guess, just about that for what though, because she was right.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, ultimately.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: We live in a capitalistic society.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, whether we look it or not.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess I've just gotten to the point where I'm like, well, then if somebody's going to make money, let it be the good humans,
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: 1000% because I mean we're going to do really good things with it exactly and the world's going to have a lot more pink items.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's all I'm going to say and you can paint this world.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: Last time I was on your podcast, I did wear pink and I was like, this is on brand for you, but I guess like wall colors over here.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: But to bring things on home, I need to know so people are listening to this because they're coming from the world of health fitness gyms, even fashion, like, what would be your advice to them if they know they want to do something else and maybe coachings on their radar, but they haven't really figured out how to make it like legit.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I would say first of all, like go back to the last, not even the last, okay, nine and last by people, the last three people that you have enjoyed working with.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: And think about when they came to you, what they said their problem was, like, what did they pay you for, ultimately?
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I think understanding like how you've, and then what has been their transformation, like with the time being, especially in the health and fitness world, like they think they're coming to you to lose weight.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what they're going to pay you for.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: They're paying you for the thing that's like, I'm going to help you lose 10 pounds in 30 days or whatever the hell.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: But when someone actually does the thing, like does the program, it actually is never about the weight.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's about maybe they have a better sex life.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they start making more money because they were able to ask for the reason they're job.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they become a more patient parent.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they get off medication, right?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's all these side things that happen.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: because of the thing that they said they wanted.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, I think a lot for me, I had to do with that work and I realized I was already coaching.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then really understanding how to position coaching.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what is it line?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what is it that, and like, for example, I've now transitioned into business coaching.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: For me, my clients, much like anyone coming into coaches wants to make money.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's ultimately their goal.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: They want to get paid.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: They want to leave their jobs.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: They want to have a business that they can have, you know, pay their bills, whatever it is.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately, that's the last thing we're doing, but it's the outcome.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if I were to tell you, you're going to be your most confident self and be a better parent and be able to have freedom and all of this stuff, it's like, that's not something someone's going to pay you for.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: So I think recognizing your strengths,
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: I did not tell Caitlyn to say this, so if you have listened to our before, there have been a million episodes where I have said that, like you have got to give people an entry point that they are willing to ask these for.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what you're saying.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Lows in person.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: How can you find the problem that people are willing to pay to have solved while knowing that there's so much more depth.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, the duration beyond this, but you need that entry point for people.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we will to say like I need her or I need that service.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: 100% you have to have that entry point and why I say that like when you ask you what I would tell them to do, that's what it ultimately comes back to because they can go a lot of he will say.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: overthink this.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: They make it more complicated than it needs to be.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're in health and fitness, specifically, or in styling or really any industry where you have dealt with people, even if you're like a manager at a trader joes.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you're coaching already.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: And you are going to be good at this.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: You just have to figure out within Taggerty.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_02]: What is the entry point?
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: Can you coach that person on, you know, through that thing?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: And you'll be on your way.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's,
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's I appreciate that you just simplified it so much because we know like of course there's more to it.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's more things that we can break down.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure If other videos all in here that can help you.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the reality is the more that we complicate things, the longer it takes and we know that Delay is the true enemy of wealth.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, in your best interest to really tune in and say how do I most want to help people
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: What is that one thing that people will come to me for and that I people either have paid me for or will pay me for and you can't start there like you had said now you're doing business coaching but it didn't start at that place now.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I forgot to say the other thing is be willing to be scrappy and like you don't need the fancy so we're like, I need a website.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: I just got a fancy website six years later.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see that.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: I need to go see the fancy website.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: I have never had a fancy website.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: I literally hate when it's making $10,000 a month without a website.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so last June I just hit my highest month at 35K.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I mean, and I just got a fancy website.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's okay, like you're going to make it without a fancy website, but people are spending too much energy on the wrong things and it's like you don't need all the perfect like client management systems and the course portals and like use Google Drive.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: Use Google Drive use the telegram app like those are all free and it's also probably way more than your client needs like you need a zoom account that's it.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: and you can get started.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: Truly.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's really much about coaching being different.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like also just being different from any other business is like
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have a bunch of overhead.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: You need a communication line, whether it's phone or Zoom, or, I mean, there's tons of them now.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Google Drive and an email, and like maybe some social media.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: What you need more is to be crystal clear on a problem that people are willing to pay to have solved.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: And the confidence to say, yes, I charge $10,000 for this six month package, or $10,000.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: whatever it is.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like I was recording an episode earlier and my first package was $1500.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: But guess what?
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: I made like $1500 a month after taxes as a public school teacher.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: So like, yes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: Unless.
- 27:34[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: Same like my first package was like my I remember like what I used to charge per call.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was like a hundred and seventy five dollars a call.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: And so I didn't start at one to two to a month, like that was not a starting price for me.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like again, the more you invest in your education, the more you invest in your experience, the more people you coach, like you become better at what you do and you are allowed to charge for that.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: And some people are like, that's too expensive.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, that's okay.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's okay.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: So you've been full-time coaching for what?
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like two years now?
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Full-time, yeah, two years.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm coaching.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: So what other job can you have where your or business can you have where you within two years are hitting 35K months?
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: And don't work full time.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know you work a lot.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to downplay that.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you and yes, I will be texting like the was random times like, but I love to work.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: But we never have to work.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I tell people like, yes, always be working, but I never have to miss anything.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I can never.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing on my calendar that.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: cannot be changed or skip now.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I can travel.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: I can, I mean, literally, even when I was in Europe, it's like, I can take a phone call.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: I can don't you also find that like, you like working?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I love what I love.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: I love what I, if somebody, it's so funny.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, on the weekends, my daughter goes to her dad's people, like, what are you going to do with your free time?
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I'm going to go to my office and work for 48 hours.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like on an erupted and not to me.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: is like dream land.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I do, I love it.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love what I do and I don't have to do that.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like, but I genuinely love to create.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: I like to get into it.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I love to get excited about it, be in my little world that I've created here.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I mean, so again, you have to, I never will tell anybody that you're going to work two hours a week and like blow up this thing or work
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where that exists, but not here.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: But also, I always also like to preface that with, I have really big goals.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: I want to bring in a very large income.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: If my goal was to bring in an extra $1 to $2,000 a month, I probably could work two to three hours a week.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you know, so I for sure.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're the amount, especially at the beginning, the amount you put in and see them out, you get out, yeah, you scale like you put a little bit less and then to can get more out, but I think you're absolutely right, but I also think that.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: people starting with the belief that they can get four clients a month, for example, paying that, yes, I'm paying you $600 a month, I can't for example.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is life changing money for some people.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, will allow them to, you know, hold their kids out of daycare or
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: you know, be home more or whatever, like I hate to even scoff at that like transition phase money because I know for me I had I was like I have to make $3,000 a month to quit my teaching job because that was yes it made and at the time I was like I have to have health insurance like yeah you know all this
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm like, I need to hit this.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because it seems so silly to have that as a goal now.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: But like, you just have to have, you have to have an exit plan like a goal that ends for you and your lifestyle.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: And once you're out, like Caitlin was saying, like, once you solidify your 101 client base, you have that baseline income to shut down any other income streams,
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now you can create your retreats and Greece and yes, because you have the spaciousness of your schedule and you don't have to worry.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: And your nervous system is safe.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: Your nervous clients are on a contract for the next six months.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: Provincial.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're trying to create under extreme financial direction.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Is that true?
- 31:37[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's why I'm here like I'm going to quit my job in the first month.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, okay, do you have a trust?
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: Because like, why would you do that?
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: Or I didn't.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I, I did take out a loan.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: That was enough for me to loan.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, new months, but that's just because in my mind, when I started business over 10, 11, 12 years ago at this point, I lose track and I don't want to age myself because my new Botox does not make me look that old.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Every, like, I was just kind of like told that if you're starting a business, you take out a loan to like get started.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: So like, that was a normalized for me.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so I read, unless you have a trust or you're willing to take a risk on yourself financially, then you need like, I'm with you.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: I do not recommend just quitting with no backup plan.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: Not back up to the same backup source of income or like we had someone today who's like,
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're, they're babysitting.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're on rover.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing Instacart.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I would still rather do that than be my public school teaching job.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a boy.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I, I've never had a nine to five.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't even know what that's like.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Literally never.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so I'm working for this.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I was like, I could never imagine working for anyone but myself.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's, that's, I could just, well, unemployable.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's scary.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I, yeah, not imagine.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: Since I was a young girl, though, I hated when people told me what to do.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I didn't imagine to be a joke with my friends and I'm like, okay, I want to get married.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: I want to have a husband.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: What if he told me what to do?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would have to have so much respect for him to actually take it seriously?
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I literally cannot imagine a world.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: I do not ever want any kind of like restriction like that.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: And even in my marriage now.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's why it works a while.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like neither one of us tell each other what to do because now it would just be that would be no good for either ways.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're going to tell you what to do now.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: What to do now is go to the show notes and follow Caitlin for a lot of things.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: She like she mentioned there's all different like price points to be able to chat with her coach with her work with her as well.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're thinking about making some type of transition from.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: anywhere to coaching.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: My number one recommendation is to first take our niche quiz, which is innergocircle.com slash niche.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you get delivered a template for you to create your first offer.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: So like Caitlyn was talking about simple, simple first offer, one on one coaching, whatever it may be your one offer.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Once you can get that going, it's going to open up all the doors for
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yeah, this is.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I always say I'm a real person like DM me, sure, she has me.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go to your aunt's questions.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, go on the international retreat if you want to be surrounded by people.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that are doing things different than maybe what you grew up around or what you surround yourself with now that is priceless and what it could appear right on.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, a hundred percent is a hundred percent of right off.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: You're coaching business and then you write off this trip.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're coaching business in Slovenia with, yeah, yes.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: Why would you not do that?
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: You have to do that.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's in Richmond, it's continuing education.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was just listening to the business trip.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Expensive?
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have it.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everything.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a ride off.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, right.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know that.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: I am not an accountant.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: Don't take my hand.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: Wait.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: But thank you for being here.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: OK, let me thank you for sharing this video.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you're advised to say hope that it helps any of our listeners.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll obviously do this again.
