Transcript
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to Reality.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: We've Got Thoughts, and we're here for a jumbo-sized chump episode going over Jeff Lewis and still flipping out.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I'm Susan.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: And I'm Debbie.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And we're here to talk about everything flipping out.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: But we wouldn't be talking about Jeff if we didn't first talk about his big news that happened recently.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And he got his contract extension that he's been working on forever.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: He's been talking a lot on the radio show, Jeff Lewis Live, about his contract that was expiring last Friday on Sirius XM.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And so he did announce on Friday that on Thursday afternoon it was finally they came to an agreement.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: And he talked about the fact that he will now have be on for two more years.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: He did a two-year contract with them.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: And he said that everybody was happy, which um that they were both bruised a little bit.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Which is probably good sometimes when negotiating, right?
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, it just means that they were both winners.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's not one nobody lost in this whole thing.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so they're not walking away with one person.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: One thing that was really funny is he did say that Kean and um Shane both got like 30% raises or something.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I love how he always tells way too much information.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And they um they probably have individual contracts with Sirius also.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: But I love though how he always takes care of his people.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: He really does.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Like you he had to have a role in getting their contracts negotiated as well.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: So I love that about him.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: You know, people give him a hard time and say he's had all these different falling outs with people and everything.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: But I have to say, a lot of the people that he's had falling outs with, I'm not saying that Jeff isn't at fault, but they're also at fault too.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: There's plenty of blame to go around.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Um, and he does have some people that have been with him longer.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: He mentions Jameson and he makes a joke that Jameson is getting an Islands gift card as a bonus.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I would hope that Jameson is doing well at Sirius now, too.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Um, Jameson Scala works for Sirius XM, not for Jeff.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Jeff has joked with him, and I think partly seriously talked about Jameson working directly for Jeff for a long time, and Jameson's always like, no, I'm good.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Last year, Jeff even offered to buy Jameson a car, and Jameson was like, no, he finally went out and bought his own new car.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and so Jameson is now part of the still flipping out, which I'm sure he's obviously getting paid from Bravo to be on there.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: They're all getting paid for that too.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: But so anyway, so that was the big news.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Those of us that love listening to Jeff Lewis on Sirius will still be still be listening to him.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: So we're we're happy about that.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Um, so this episode surrounds itself a lot.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: They talk about Jeff's weight, which is something that if you titled In Thickness and in Health.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Jeff does not have a weight problem, first off.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: But he goes on a diet.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So the whole episode is about Jeff going on a diet.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: I think he goes on and he starts Ozempik, doesn't he?
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: He uh he does talk about going on a Zempik, and um, and that's why they start off in the car that he and Shane are in the car and they talk about a good fat day.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: A fat people day would be pizza.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: They love pizza, he loves eating.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: They always talk about food.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Jeff always has food in some sort of way woven into everything.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: He's been that way since the old flipping out days.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So then it starts off where Reza is on the show and um with um Katie Lowe's, who was in Hunting Wives, and Jeff is saying that he's having thin envy for Reza because Reza has lost so much weight, and Reza has kept his weight off.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: If you don't know, Reza Farahan was from Shaws of Sunset and now the Valley Persian style, and he's a regular chump and good friends with Jeff.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: So that's when Jeff tells us that he had had now started a GLP one.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So he is now on Ozempic.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: He's on a new journey.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're gonna I'm sure we're gonna learn all about every the ins and outs of all of it.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So a big thing about this episode is the condo.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: So I want to talk about the whole thing with the condo.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: So after radio that day, Jeff and Shane go over to the condo because this is Shane's condo that he purchased with Jeff.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: So Shane and his boyfriend Brogan are living there, but Jeff owns this condo half and half with Shane.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: So they go over there, and and Jeff says this is really like an owner-user long-term investment renovation.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: And Jackie Schimmel and Jen Fessler go over there with them.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Two other chumps.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Jackie is a podcaster and and does a bunch of different stuff.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: And then Jen Fessler was on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: So they go over there with them.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And um he and Jay, um, excuse me, Shane says that he and Brogan have been living there for about seven months at the time.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: So what did you think of the condo?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: It doesn't need a lot of work.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: That's what I thought.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, once once they got back there and Brogan was going through things with Shane and he started opening drawers and like was suggesting why don't we just reface the cabinets or something?
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: You could see it was older cabinetry.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: So I can see where maybe Shane wants to do it.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: But Shane also works alongside Jeff when Jeff is doing these major renovations and sees all this beautiful brand new.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: And he, I can't blame him if he wants brand new.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because Jeff's got the contractor there with him, and they're walking through all of this, and they're talking about Shane and Jeff splitting this renovation in half.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: But I'm sitting there looking at this condo, like it's gorgeous.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: It's gorgeous, it's decorated beautifully.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: It's yeah, I it it does not need a lot of work.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: And I think that this is where part of this problem probably blew up.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: I I don't know exactly who started the idea of these renovations, but for Shane and Brogan being in their 20s, living in Southern California, living there.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: It's far nicer than I ever had in my 20s.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Early 20s.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Like I think it does not need anything.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: No.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: So, but they're gonna do this renovation.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: So then it moves into them talking about having to move out because the contractor is saying that the renovation is gonna take like two months.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: So it's bad because at first they literally talk about Shane and Brogan moving in with Jeff at his new house.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: There are so many blurred lines in this working relationship.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: And I I know Jeff and Shane are friends outside of work.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: I in fact, I think Jeff's friends with everybody that he works with.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: There's so many blurred lines.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: So obviously, Jeff's main part of his life is working.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: So he has always had this thing where he's been friends working, but you may not know this part, and everyone might not know.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: So Shane started working for Jeff during COVID.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Like, actually, what happened was Shane worked at Sirius XM in New York.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: This may or may not be news to some of you, the real chumps know this.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: Shane worked at Sirius XM in New York, and Jeff kind of stole him from there to come work with him in California.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: But what happened was literally, as all this was happening and Shane was moving out there was when COVID hit.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: So Shane actually lived with Jeff with Jeff.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: So it's immediately abnormal for him to move in with the So they started out with this living together relationship.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Well then that makes more sense at the beginning.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: That makes more sense.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: So so that's what's you know, that but um but then they start talking about how maybe it would be better if Shane and Brogan move into Fifth Street, which is the house that Jeff is gonna be moving out of.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Out of.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Which I think makes more sense.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Shane and Brogan can still have their life.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Jeff's not intertwined so yeah intricately into their personal life.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Because I do think this is this is hard, and it shows itself on the radio show too, where they talk a lot about this back when it was going on with the condo.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Um so what about then the next scene um Shane and Jeff go meet up with Crystal.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And what do you think of that?
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: They were talking about the product.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Crystal is bringing him.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: This is this has been a thing with them with these opportunities.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: So what do you okay?
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: We're laughing.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: We might as well tell I hear that we have a Hawaii problem.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Okay, I left the doors open the other day because it was cool out and windy, and I didn't know like flies came in.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: So we've been laughing because when we've been sitting here filming at and video, uh, you know, doing the podcast at my house, we're killing flies with this.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: If you're on video, you can see I got this little swatter that kills them.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: But anyway, we digress.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: But if you need the zapper from Amazon, this is it.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Um, so we're just looking at these.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: So we're just swatting up flies.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Awful.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: My husband's gonna kill me.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Um, so Crystal is bringing these opportunities to Jeff, but this one is this Peaches, what was the product called?
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Peaches something?
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: It's um it's like a rear end cleaner.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: It's like a cleaner for after you use the bathroom to cleanse your booty.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: I get yeah, it's it's it's ridiculous.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: So they bring it and then Jeff said they and they're saying they're gonna give them like equity in the company or something, but now how does become an influencer?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so this is part of how Jeff is now an influencer.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Um, but after, besides talking about that product, that he does update Crystal on the Joey.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so now Joey has fully been put on pause from all of the Jeff Lewis stuff, and Crystal says that she feels bad about it.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: She definitely thinks that Joey needs to be put on pause, but she doesn't want to be the culprit.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And but she knows that her situation with Joey is all is only like one of a few, that there's been more situations.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: That's unique.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: I this brings me to Joey.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: I want Joey to succeed.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: I really want to cheer for Joey and to see him do a full 180, come around and bring out new Joey, new and improved Joey.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: I really want to see because I think he does add a lot to it.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: And I think he does at his core have a good heart.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: He just has flown off the rails a little bit.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it was, and it's funny because Jeff on the radio talks about how the Joey situation really front-loaded the season.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: So when it started off the show, it really made a lot of people think like, oh my God, the show is completely about Joey.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: But the thing is now Joey's been put on pause, so going forward, we're really not gonna see Joey.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: But then that's the interesting thing about this show.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: But I think he's gonna weave his way back in.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: And he does.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And that's what I was gonna say that's really interesting about this show that almost makes it even hard to recap, is that for those people that are watching still flipping out, but also listen to the radio show, we all already know what happened.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, because if you're listening on the radio.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: But like you're not really a So I'm only catching the show, which was pre-recorded, and oh.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: But for those of us that listen to the radio, we know that Joey does get back into that he handles the whole situation well and he does get back into the group of chumps.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: But he's on the radio some, but he really still has not been invited to events and things.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Jeff's still taking his time with that.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Um, but Joey does get back into the show.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: But what do you think about that from a show standpoint?
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Like I'd be anxious to see what people like.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Do you think there's two watchers of still flipping out?
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Are there the watchers like me who are avid chumps, who always are caught up on the radio show, and we really know what's going on in the whole chump verse?
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: And then do you think that you could still enjoy the show?
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Do you still what do you think of the show so far after four episodes?
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Like, do you enjoy the show not being a chump?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Yes, I'm enjoying the show.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: I honestly think it would ruin the show to be caught up to speed on the day-to-day life through the radio show.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Because what you're watching, you already know what's happening because you've already listened to it.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: So I think I'm enjoying it because I don't know all the background details.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: So that's why I wonder if the show does get picked up for another season, are we gonna see more non-show stuff?
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Because for example, I didn't know anything about the Malibu um situation that comes up because that's what happens next.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: You know, they went to Malibu to that job for um Jason and Shelly Vargas.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, he was a major league baseball player, and then they find all the problems with the foundation and all of that.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And this is more like old school Jeff Lewis flipping out where you're seeing like his design jobs and things that come up.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: See, and that's what I want to see on this show is the design stuff.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Because I think all the you're getting all the radio drama stuff, but I want to see the design stuff because I think that's what kind of propelled Jeff in the first place is his design and all that.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: And so I want to see the design stuff is what interests me.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: I love that kind of stuff.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So it'll be interesting because I wonder if the show, like I said, if it gets picked up for a second season, does it go back to being more of a doc you follow like it was in the past and and not focused as much on the radio and the things that they're talking about on the radio that we already know about.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the radio is probably fun day-to-day stuff.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: But yes, if he could focus the show on design stuff that they don't talk about on the radio, I think it would be more engaging.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Yes, because I've always said that Jeff Lewis Live, the radio show, to me is basically like a reality show on the air.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: On the radio, which that's why so many people, there was even an article out this week, another article comparing him to Howard Stern, because Howard Stern did that where he created this whole world of all of his characters that people like to listen to, and it was like the things that they and that's really kind of what Jeff has done on um on his radio show.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: So when you go to Malibu, that's the other thing.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: So Tyler, so you meet Tyler on there.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and Tyler, like he said in the show, was Jeff's assistant for like six years.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: So he was on the old flipping out, and he was all Tyler was also on Jeff's Amazon show, um Hollywood house lift.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: So for anybody that he got let go, correct?
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Um Jeff let that's what I understood is that he got Jeff Jeff fired in, but then he brings him back again.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Yes, I think Jeff Jeff fired him maybe back in the flipping out days.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, see, there's so much to keep so you might be right.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: But online people are criticizing Jeff, saying he doesn't have people in his life for a long time.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: But Tyler is back, and also Vanina, who we briefly saw in an earlier episode, was another design assistant who is still working for him.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's almost like he severs ties, but he maintains relationships with the people.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: It's it's interesting.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, it it's gonna be when it comes to Jeff, it's gonna be debated for eternity because he does he does like hardline it with people, like he does get into drama with people.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: It's it in his personality.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: So, in the what did you think when they asked Tyler in the confessionals about the perks of working with Jeff?
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: He's like, What perks?
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: There's no perks.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: He's like, I like Tyler.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, how would you feel?
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: So, okay, you've just been through a recent reno on your house.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: So they find foundation issues in this reno that are gonna cost, and Jeff even says he says, most of my clients can spend money on whatever they want to spend money on, but no one really wants to be stuck paying$35,000 for a foundation issue.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: So, how do you feel like that about that just going through a reno?
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Um, because he called Shelly on the phone and she just handles it.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: She has a few questions and she's like, okay, okay, okay, let's go.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she wanted to know if everything was included in in the price that he was saying, if it was just gonna, if it was also gonna be the um, if it was if it included the pouring of the concrete and the fixing.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: You know, it sucks because when you go through these renovations, it's like Jeff said, this is stuff we found when we opened up the walls.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Like you think you're doing it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: It happens.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: It happened um to a neighbor down the street here who was gonna do more of more of a cosmetic renovation and up and had to do like a full gut renovation.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So I think that that is what happens, and it happens to Jeff a lot because a lot of those California houses, too, you figure they have unstable, you know, with the earthquakes and things there, and the way the I'm sure the codes have changed and things, and they find stuff.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: So um he was pretty lucky that they um that it wasn't that bad.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: And then they're trying to work on the time frame because they're coming back and to stay in the house in what is it, two months?
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because he asks about the date and it's only like 10 weeks from now.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: When she says June 10th, it says it was only 10 weeks from then, and he's like, We're gonna try to do that.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: So But Jeff was right, he's like, I'm the leader on this, I have to stay calm, like I can't get all upset about it.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Like, I have to stay calm for them.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: So it was.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Um, so then they go back and it cracks me up because then they go into the part of the show where they're like, diet day five.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: And Jeff's like, I have nine pounds to go.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: And he's like, That's the mandatory weight, and then anything over that will be the bonus weight.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: He just can't eat, but I'm hungry and I'm nauseous, but I want food.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: So it's going through, but they're still talking about lunch.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: What are they gonna get?
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: And Jeff says that he's the guy who's eating his way through Ozempic.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: But he's still losing weight.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, so then when they went to shop, then he and Shane, we're back to Shane's renovation now.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: So they went to shop for the faucets and stuff.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: And what did you think about what Jeff was picking out or how Jeff was trying to lead Shane, even though they're splitting this?
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Well, how much ownership does Jeff have in the conduct?
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: They are 50-50, they are 50-50.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: I feel like Jeff is the one with the eye, and he's the he's the professional that I would I I don't know.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: I don't blame him.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: He knows what he knows resell, he knows what's gonna look good, he knows what the finished product is all gonna look like.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: Shane may have a visual, but he doesn't have the eye like Jeff has.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: And again, from listening to the radio show, we heard all of this play out on the radio.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: They talked a lot about this drama on the radio, and I feel like part of me thinks Jeff is trying to spend too much money on this condo.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: I don't know the numbers.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: I don't know exactly what they paid for the condo.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know how long they were initially.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Jeff doesn't go cheap though.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I liked the stuff they were picking out.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: I liked that matte black faucet.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: I did one of those matte black faucets in a bar sink in my house with new countertops and stuff.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: I d I did like that.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: But I do worry, I love how Shane's like, can we make it sophisticated and cute on a budget?
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Shane's Shane is I love Shane.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: So I was worried that Jeff was overspending.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Um He probably was.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, look at his his own house that he's renovating that he's taken years to do.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: And he keeps adding and adding, adding, adding, adding.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: So I have a feeling the condo is kind of gonna be a little bit the same way.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: So then it's funny because they go into diet day diet day eight, and Jeff says, and Shane's asking him, Do you want me to give you the GLP one today?
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Because that's the other crazy thing.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Shane gives Jeff all of his shots and stuff.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: He was giving there's so many blurred lines.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: It's so weird.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: If I had a personal assistant, would I have them giving me like my testosterone?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: He was giving Jeff his testosterone shots, his GLP one, he took care of him through his surgeries.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: It is a very personalized relationship.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: It's not just a working relationship.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: So Jeff says no.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: He says he doesn't feel good.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: That was interesting because you hear that a lot of people do have digestive issues and stuff.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: So Jeff's like, I have what did he say?
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: He was nauseous and had acid reflux, but he still had food cravings.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And that's like he said before, he was the person eating himself through.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: So he decides he's not doing it.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: So the next day they're like, Okay, it's no yeah, no diet day.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: So um, okay, then back to the renovation.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: So now we go into the whole situation where Brogan and Shane are there.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: And what do you think of the story of how they met?
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: Did you you probably didn't, again, not being a listener, you probably didn't know all that.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I didn't know all any of that.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: So they met on Tinder, which I thought.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: It was really funny that Shane said we met old school.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: So they're so young that Tinder is old school.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: What do you think of that?
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: What does that make us?
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Did you ever were you I mean dating apps were just starting to come out before I got married?
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Did you ever were you ever on a dating app?
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: I was on a dating app.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: I actually flew to Washington State to hang out with a guy I met on a dating app.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: And obviously that didn't work out.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Obviously didn't work out, but yeah, I was on a dating app for all my roommates and I were on a dating app for a while.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: I have two really good friends that met their spouses on this dating app.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I have some friends here, like around our age, who met their spouses on dating apps, but I think it just was coming out then.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was when dating apps were brand new.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: So it's evolved a lot.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: When I first moved from Florida to North Carolina, I did go on Match.com to meet people, and I was talking to a guy, just talking to him, and then we were going to make a plan, and then I didn't really hear from him, and then he did have the courtesy to write me and just say, like, hey, we were having great conversations, but I did actually go on a date and made a connection with some, which was fine.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: So I never ended up going on any dates from it, but I did talk to some people and then ended up not long after that meeting my husband through work.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: And you met your husband through a friend, right?
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: That's a story for another day.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: So, but I did think that was funny that Shane said that was old school because now we're to the point where Tinder meeting someone on Tinder is old school.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: But they um, but I did think what are you doing, Bandit?
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: But I and I did think it was funny that they went on that date and then they were just friends.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: So they moved in as just roommates.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: That was kind of funny.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, Bandit.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: They moved in as roommates and then Okay, can you go outside and go coding?
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: Maybe Bandit needs to go out.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Um, they went they went on as roommates or moved in as just roommates and then ended up together.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: I love their relationship though.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: I I really the way they're able to sit down and talk through everything, and it is very blurred lines, inappropriate.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: The way Jeff wants to do this, that, and the other, or move in with me and let me do this, or give me my shots.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: It's very different.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I just think Brogan handles it very, very well.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I had to let the dog out.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: We're real here.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: I'm real, we are live.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Then, yeah, I do, I do think they're so cute.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I think they are so cute together.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Oh, so what do you think when he's telling Brogan about the the renovation?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: What did you think about that?
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Brogan's really apprehensive.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: I loved Brogan's comment.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: He says, it's a lot of Jeff, which it is.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, he works with Jeff, he's under the same roof as Jeff.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: It's a lot.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: It's a lot of Jeff.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I do think that it's um, it's not your traditional situation with work.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: They, because they are together, it's like Brogan said, he's working six days a week, 13-hour days.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Here's what I think.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I think that it's gotta be hard for Brogan.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: And just like Brogan said, they go on these vacations and everything.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: And I think that they brogan appreciates it, but it is a little, it does get they're very intertwined.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: It's a little too much.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Because Jeff doesn't say it as much on still flipping out, but on the radio, like Jeff jokes, like I think he was partially serious about wanting to adopt Shane.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: Like, I think at one point Shane's parents didn't think it was a funny joke anymore because he was literally he refers to Shane as his son, and he would refer to Kean, Annie, and Shane as his kids, and and all of that.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: But I do think he's very generous with Shane, and I do think Shane's very young, and I'm pretty sure he he makes pretty good money.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: And then think about it, he's definitely getting paid for being on the radio show, plus being Jeff's assistant, plus the trips and the other things that Jeff does for him.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: Jeff's kind of taking him under his wing.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: And Jeff pays for all that food.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, when you think of what young people spend on food.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Because we know, like, well, I mean, you see what they're eating at Jeff's house when they're eating their their meals for their office meals together.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: It's not an inexpensive meal.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: I have a friend who I was talking to today, her son, who recently graduated from college, has a very good finance job in Texas.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and she was talking about what his credit card bill was, and that she said to him, like, what did you buy?
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: And they started looking, and she said, honestly, it wasn't like he was buying clothes or anything, it was food and a little bit of going out, not excessively, but and it's expensive for these people, so for these young people.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: So Shane's getting a lot there.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: So I think that probably, you know, and now think about it, Shane's on this show, he's a Bravo lebody now from his relationship with Jeff.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Um, so I but I do think it's hard for Brogan.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: So what about when Jeff calls?
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: And obviously Shane is not as far in the conversation with Brogan, and Jeff is saying, Oh, tell him about the surprise.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I want to um, you know, tell Brogan I'm really excited.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: And Jeff's like, call me back when you give him the news.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Shane looks so stressed out.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: So stressed out.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: His red his neck is all red.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: And he even says he goes, I have an ank anxiety condition, like his whole neck breaks out in this red red.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: They talked about it on the radio show this week after the episode came out because yeah, like he is just red, like you can tell he's like all like here he is trying to have this, you know, um serious conversation, and he's so stressed out if Brogan can see.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: And Brogan's not wrong when Brogan says at the end of the day, it's a weird, effed up situation with their dynamic.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: And Brogan is basically saying, like, Shane needs more boundaries, and he feels like it's not a normal boss employee relationship, and that that's Jeff like sinking his teeth.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: And I I I mean I mean in some ways I get where Jeff's coming from because he's has that parental protectiveness over Shane.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: And I mean, think about it.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: He just wants to take him under his wing and take care of him and make sure everything's good, but he it it is a little controlling.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I do believe that Jeff's intentions were good in wanting to do the condo with him because Jeff sees himself in Shane and he wants, you know, to help Shane invest in real estate and have a place, you know, and all of that, but it does get to be a little bit of a weird, a weird situation.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and I but kudos to Shane for saying that first and foremost, he wants Brogan to be happy and they need to make a decision that makes sense financially.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: And I and and um Shane also says this is one of the first times they've not been in agreement about a big life decision.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: That'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: So in the preview, we see that this start this all this whole situation starts to heat up.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Um and I will leave it there, even though the chumps that are listening to this right now know more about it like I do, because again, this is where I'm really interested about how this show plays out because we all already know like what ended up happening.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: But I won't say it.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Don't spoil it.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: I won't spoil it for the people that are like you, Debbie, and are just watching the show and not every day on on the uh on the radio show.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: So do you like it?
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: How are how are you feeling about already knowing and then watching and seeing it play out?
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: I like it because I feel like it's filling in more information for me.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: Like I guess later I could talk about it more later once they show us more, but I already know some of the outcomes of these things, but I'm getting the full I'm getting what I didn't get on the radio.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: The Joey thing and um and all of that.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: And I like Joey.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: I liked Joey even when he was on um, was it the it was maybe it was the real friends of Wii Ho.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: It's probably it's gotta be out there somewhere to watch.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think if it was on E.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: I don't think it was on Bravo, but Joey was on a reality show um with Toddrakal and some other people.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: It was good.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: And then um, and then he's also been on with um on the radio show for a while.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: So there's more to come.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: I like it so far.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: I want to say that they said there's only like eight episodes.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: So we're halfway through, I believe they said eight episodes.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Do you know?
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Did you hear that somewhere?
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Um, so it'll be interesting.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: So the other big thing that's going on this weekend, and I'm sure that all of our Bravo fans know about this, it is Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston, South Carolina.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: You know, they've been doing Bravo Con like every other year, either in New York and Vegas, I think.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: And then two years ago, they did a Bravo Fan Fest.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: Here's my other dog now.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: It's getting close to dinner time.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Um, they did so I am excited that I'm going to Bravo Fan Fest.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Debbie had another very much more important commitment already.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: So she won't be there, but that's fine.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: She'll be there in spirit.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And honestly, all of you guys can be there if you don't already know.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: You are going to be able to watch streaming on Peacock all of the different sessions.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: I'm going Friday night to two tapings of Watch What Happens Live.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And another friend is going with me, and she's gonna come be a guest on the podcast.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: But um then on Saturday is the actual fan fest with the meet and greets and all of that.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: And um, oh my god, I'm laughing.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: These dogs, it's getting close to dinner time.
- 33:14unknown: Hello.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: But um, so sorry if you're listening, you can hear them in the background.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: If you're watching, you see them being obnoxious.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: But anyway, Bravo Fan Fest is gonna be so fun.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: So stream it on Peacock, or you can go back later, watch on Peacock.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: It'll be interesting.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: I'll let you guys know how it went.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: I don't know about these meet and greets.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: I have no idea how many people are gonna be attending or how crowded it's gonna be.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gonna be packed.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: But I am not one to stand in line for too long.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: So we'll have to see.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: I do want to see some people.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: Bronwyn is gonna be there.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: Um, Portia's gonna be there.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Should we take photos with the girlfriend Bronwin's gonna have with her?
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: Do you think she's gonna have to wonder who will you take pictures, please?
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: I will take photos, I will post all over our Instagram.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Not too much FOMO because I'm gonna be with um, I have a son that plays college soccer out in Utah, and I'm going to watch him play.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: So that's more important going to see your son than going to BravoCon.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: But it is gonna be, oh, Captain Sandy, Shannon Bador, um his dog.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Um, and on and on.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: So we'll talk more about that, about Bravo Fan Fest.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: I can't wait.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: And please, if you don't already, follow us on Instagram at reality we've got thoughts.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: And I hope some of you are animal lovers and forgive us for the when the dogs go crazy.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: This is what happens when you work at home.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: So like, subscribe, comment, all that good stuff.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys for all your support, and we'll see you next time.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Bye.
