- 1:40Speaker 6: We just got off the plane and we had to
- 1:43Speaker 6: hurry back to make it to talk to the Champ.
- 1:46Speaker 5: The storry to get here as an episode in itself, yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 5: for sure, well worth it.
- 1:50Speaker 6: So if you're a fan of the Sweet Science like
- 1:53Speaker 6: I am, the term champ just can't be thrown around loosely.
- 1:57Speaker 6: There's only one champ at a time. There's a lot
- 1:59Speaker 6: of fighters, a lot of champions. Yeah, but there's only
- 2:02Speaker 6: one champ. Camp is the pounds a pound champ undisputed? Yes, correct,
- 2:10Speaker 6: So we have the champ Terrence crawd for in the building.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Bud just came off the biggest fight of the year,
- 2:22Speaker 6: very impressive fight. I knew you was gonna win, but
- 2:25Speaker 6: I didn't think that it was going to be in
- 2:26Speaker 6: that fashion shot the el Spence. But just I think
- 2:31Speaker 6: you want every single round except for the first one maybe.
- 2:34Speaker 6: And now you're undefeated forty and oh, I believe you
- 2:39Speaker 6: are pound for pound best fighter in the game.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yep.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Uh. You have four.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Belts including the Rainbilt five belts, and you're just at
- 2:50Speaker 6: the top of the world right now. So we're gonna
- 2:52Speaker 6: talk about a variety of different things. But first and foremost,
- 2:55Speaker 6: thank you for joining us. Appreciate it, Appreciate you having me. Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 6: for sure, for sure shamp No we interview Floyd, that's true,
- 3:04Speaker 6: but he's not. I mean, he's retired. This is the champ,
- 3:06Speaker 6: you know.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I'm just saying great, all time, great, active. I want
- 3:13Speaker 3: to get by all.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Of it, not just the biggest fight of the year,
- 3:17Speaker 5: the most dominant fight of the year.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it was crazy. I had it on pay per view.
- 3:22Speaker 3: It was that was like wow, it was just a
- 3:25Speaker 3: different look in you.
- 3:26Speaker 6: We definitely both picked you to win. So let's talk
- 3:28Speaker 6: about this. I want to talk were Gonn talk about
- 3:30Speaker 6: the business? Were going to talk about a variety different things,
- 3:31Speaker 6: but let's start with the obvious. You just came off
- 3:34Speaker 6: that fight. What's the mindset going into that fight? A
- 3:38Speaker 6: lot of people did not pick you to win, said
- 3:41Speaker 6: that you were smaller than him, and you know, nobody,
- 3:44Speaker 6: I ain't seen anybody disrespect you, but a lot of
- 3:46Speaker 6: people just thought that you were not going to be
- 3:49Speaker 6: the winner. And like I said, not only did you win,
- 3:52Speaker 6: but you want an extremely convention fashion. So what's the
- 3:55Speaker 6: mindset of you in training camp leading up to this fight,
- 3:58Speaker 6: knowing that that's going to be the biggest fight of
- 4:00Speaker 6: your career so far.
- 4:02Speaker 7: Well, my mindset is always win at all costs. Make
- 4:06Speaker 7: sure that I'm in one hundred and ten percent shape,
- 4:12Speaker 7: prepared for whatever the opponent brings to the table. Make
- 4:17Speaker 7: sure that I'm at the best of my abilities going
- 4:23Speaker 7: into the fight, so I don't have to worry about
- 4:27Speaker 7: nobody else. A lot of people ask me, you know
- 4:31Speaker 7: what you got to do to win the fight? I
- 4:33Speaker 7: just say, be myself. I always say that because I
- 4:36Speaker 7: obviously feel as if I'm Terrence Crawford. Can nobody beat
- 4:42Speaker 7: me unless I beat myself?
- 4:46Speaker 3: So as I mean, first round, they didn't give to
- 4:48Speaker 3: you second round? Some things change?
- 4:51Speaker 5: Is that the turning point in your mind? Like, all right,
- 4:54Speaker 5: he hit me with something, this is all you has.
- 4:57Speaker 5: It's time to put this work in.
- 4:59Speaker 3: No, I don't.
- 5:00Speaker 7: I don't really think he hit me with nothing telling
- 5:03Speaker 7: in the first round. You know, I think the first
- 5:05Speaker 7: round was more so I fell out round. I don't
- 5:08Speaker 7: think either one of us did anything really in the
- 5:11Speaker 7: first round, So I really didn't understand, you know how
- 5:16Speaker 7: people had me losing it maybe because you know, he
- 5:19Speaker 7: was coming forward a little more and he was pressing
- 5:21Speaker 7: the action a little more, so they just gave it
- 5:24Speaker 7: to him on aggression, you know. But all in all,
- 5:28Speaker 7: neither one of us really was doing too much in
- 5:29Speaker 7: the first round. In the second round, you know, things
- 5:33Speaker 7: start picking up at a little more than there was
- 5:35Speaker 7: in the first round. I got the knockdown and that
- 5:40Speaker 7: changed the fight from from their own.
- 5:43Speaker 6: So I always wondered this as a fighter, right, there
- 5:47Speaker 6: has to be some level of are you ever nervous?
- 5:50Speaker 4: Scared? Doubt?
- 5:52Speaker 6: Like not only can you lose, but you can potentially
- 5:55Speaker 6: get hurt bad, right, So going into the fight, like, mentally,
- 6:01Speaker 6: how is that process for you?
- 6:03Speaker 7: Well, everybody getting nervous. You know when these fighters say
- 6:07Speaker 7: they they don't they lying. You know, everybody getting nervous
- 6:11Speaker 7: because you know that what's at stake.
- 6:13Speaker 4: You know, doubt.
- 6:15Speaker 7: I wouldn't say like it crossed your mind in training
- 6:18Speaker 7: camp and stuff like that, but that's when you know
- 6:21Speaker 7: you got to push it harder in training camp when
- 6:24Speaker 7: you got that doubt in your mind. So going into
- 6:27Speaker 7: the fight, there's no doubt. There's no doubt whatsoever what's
- 6:31Speaker 7: going to happen because I know I put put the
- 6:33Speaker 7: work in. So yeah, I don't worry about those thoughts
- 6:40Speaker 7: going into the fighting.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I mean after you win.
- 6:43Speaker 5: And like when I'm watching this when it gets stopped
- 6:45Speaker 5: in the ninth round, I'm thinking to myself, that was
- 6:49Speaker 5: pretty dominant, right, And I know there's a rematch clause,
- 6:52Speaker 5: But in my head, I'm thinking to myself, are you
- 6:54Speaker 5: looking at like.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I've dominated this fight so much? Like who is my next?
- 6:59Speaker 3: Jow On? Right?
- 7:00Speaker 5: Because I seen there was some talk from the ring
- 7:02Speaker 5: side to Charlo. I saw the look in your eye
- 7:04Speaker 5: and like, yo, I'm that guy, Like what's your mindset?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Right after that? Like I just put him down? Who's next?
- 7:11Speaker 4: No?
- 7:11Speaker 7: My, my, my, mentor was just just what you're seeing.
- 7:16Speaker 4: You know.
- 7:16Speaker 7: I went straight to the next next champion in the
- 7:19Speaker 7: next division, and that was Jamel Charlo. You know, me
- 7:23Speaker 7: moving up, he got all the belts, he got to
- 7:27Speaker 7: see me. And that's how I felt like, all right,
- 7:29Speaker 7: letting him know, put him on notice that you know
- 7:32Speaker 7: I'm coming for him.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I see that. I'm like, first I'm like, who's
- 7:36Speaker 3: he talking to? Then I realized it.
- 7:37Speaker 5: I'm like, all right, automatically, I've done this in your minds,
- 7:40Speaker 5: like you're gonna have to move up and wait right,
- 7:43Speaker 5: because originally he was supposed to fight Alvarez.
- 7:47Speaker 3: That kind of didn't work. So like he's fighting. I
- 7:50Speaker 3: thought it was his twin brothers. No, no, no, that's him.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Okay's fighting. So after he does that, that is that
- 7:55Speaker 3: something you're looking like?
- 7:56Speaker 7: All right, yeah, if he come back in uh when
- 8:01Speaker 7: it's title against Tim Zuo.
- 8:04Speaker 6: So, but the rematch clause is up to spent if
- 8:08Speaker 6: he wants to exercise. So assuming that he's going to
- 8:11Speaker 6: do that, I'm assuming that he would do it. I
- 8:13Speaker 6: don't see why he Wouldn't you think about what weight
- 8:17Speaker 6: you want to find out? Because people let me ask
- 8:19Speaker 6: you this. Some people say he was dehydrated and drained.
- 8:23Speaker 6: That's why it looked so lopsided because he came down
- 8:27Speaker 6: and wait.
- 8:27Speaker 7: Well, you gotta understand my whole career people being giving
- 8:33Speaker 7: excuses for fighters that I've been in the ring with.
- 8:38Speaker 7: You know, a lot of people say, oh, man, you
- 8:40Speaker 7: ain't fighting nobody, or you fighting washed up guys, or
- 8:43Speaker 7: you fighting over the hill champions, or this guy didn't
- 8:48Speaker 7: train properly, or this guy did this and this guy
- 8:53Speaker 7: did that. So if you if you watch my interviews
- 8:58Speaker 7: when talking about a fire with Terrence Craufford and Aero
- 9:02Speaker 7: Spence Junior, you will see that I always said, once
- 9:05Speaker 7: I beat you and I'll make you look ordinary, they're
- 9:07Speaker 7: gonna have an excuse. You know, Spence never came out
- 9:12Speaker 7: with one excuse. He never said anything about nothing. You
- 9:15Speaker 7: just said the better man won. But in they mind,
- 9:19Speaker 7: they just can't understand the fact that I won in
- 9:24Speaker 7: that fashion. So they're like, something has to be wrong
- 9:26Speaker 7: because this guy is not that good.
- 9:30Speaker 4: That's what they think.
- 9:31Speaker 7: But once a fighter getting the ring with me and
- 9:35Speaker 7: it happens over and over and over, then they'll say, oh, well,
- 9:39Speaker 7: this is the reason why he won. Like that, or
- 9:42Speaker 7: this is the reason why you know he lost like that,
- 9:45Speaker 7: not giving me my credit and saying that he knocked
- 9:49Speaker 7: out every Well, the way that was put in front of.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Him now that this fight was highly anticipated was something
- 9:56Speaker 5: that obviously wanted to see for years. The business of
- 9:59Speaker 5: it is that there right because he has the opportunity
- 10:01Speaker 5: to exercise the rematch clause. How did that business work out?
- 10:06Speaker 5: Where like, who's the A side, who's the B side?
- 10:08Speaker 5: Because we've seen that plenty of times where that holds
- 10:11Speaker 5: up a fight and people won't do it because they're like,
- 10:12Speaker 5: I'm not the B side. How did that work between
- 10:15Speaker 5: y'all the negotiations of.
- 10:16Speaker 7: It, Well, I really didn't care the A side or
- 10:18Speaker 7: the B side, you know, I just wanted to fight.
- 10:21Speaker 7: Long as the business behind closed doors was right, then
- 10:25Speaker 7: we had to fight. You know, I didn't really care
- 10:28Speaker 7: if the poster said Spence Crawford Crawford Spence. At the
- 10:32Speaker 7: end of the day, we got to fight. Long as
- 10:35Speaker 7: you know the business is right now, I'm cool with it.
- 10:38Speaker 6: So look, over the last five years, we've been seeing
- 10:41Speaker 6: a lot of these mega fights taking place, right, and
- 10:43Speaker 6: that was a knock on boxing for a long time
- 10:45Speaker 6: that the fights that the public wanted to see were
- 10:48Speaker 6: not taking place. What do you credit that to? I
- 10:52Speaker 6: see you guys kind of thank each other for making
- 10:54Speaker 6: the fight happen. So did you credit that to the
- 10:56Speaker 6: boxes or do you credit that to you know, the
- 10:59Speaker 6: promotional companies? Like what what has moved the sport forward
- 11:03Speaker 6: where now guys are actually really fighting each other?
- 11:05Speaker 7: I credit the fighters, you know, I really believe me
- 11:10Speaker 7: and Spence was a big part of making this fight happen.
- 11:16Speaker 7: You know, if me and him wasn't wouldn't have gotten
- 11:21Speaker 7: on the phone and talked out some issues that we
- 11:25Speaker 7: was having with the lawyers and stuff like that, then
- 11:29Speaker 7: who knows if the fight would to continue, you know. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 7: So I just, I just I'm a firm believer as
- 11:38Speaker 7: the fighters make the fights if they really want them.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Because if I want to fight you and you want
- 11:43Speaker 7: to fight me, you're gonna go to your people's and say, hey, look,
- 11:47Speaker 7: I want to fight him and I don't care about
- 11:49Speaker 7: nothing else. You know, they might be looking at out
- 11:53Speaker 7: for you and say, all right, well, if you're gonna
- 11:55Speaker 7: fight him, we want you to get this or we
- 11:57Speaker 7: want you to get that, and you may be like, no,
- 12:01Speaker 7: we ain't gonna we ain't gonna get over on him.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I'm gonna take this and he gonna take that, and
- 12:05Speaker 7: we're gonna fight.
- 12:07Speaker 4: You know.
- 12:08Speaker 7: So I feel as if a lot of fighters they
- 12:12Speaker 7: hide behind the promotional company or they management company, or
- 12:16Speaker 7: their advisors and things like that, and that's why a
- 12:19Speaker 7: lot of fighters don't get done. Or one's ego is
- 12:23Speaker 7: bigger than the other and instead of coming together, you
- 12:28Speaker 7: want to try to take the biggest pot because you
- 12:30Speaker 7: feel as if you bringing more to the table when
- 12:34Speaker 7: both of y'all bringing a lot to the table, because
- 12:37Speaker 7: both of y'all is stars.
- 12:40Speaker 6: So so that's an excuse when boxes say, like talk
- 12:45Speaker 6: to my promoter on my promoter, that's that they're using
- 12:47Speaker 6: it as an excuse.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, God won't fight with me. A guy
- 12:50Speaker 3: won't fight.
- 12:50Speaker 4: And it happened plenty of times.
- 12:53Speaker 7: You You've seen Tyson Ferry fight Deontay Wilder, You've seen
- 12:57Speaker 7: Lomachinko fight Gary Russell Jr.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I didn't fought to PBC fighters.
- 13:02Speaker 7: But when it when it came to me fighting One
- 13:05Speaker 7: Day champions, that's when it when it got Yeah, guy,
- 13:10Speaker 7: it's just like you know you're not about to come
- 13:14Speaker 7: over here and beat one of our guys and take
- 13:18Speaker 7: take a title back to your promotional company. And we
- 13:22Speaker 7: don't have no ties with you. And it's just like, now,
- 13:26Speaker 7: what do we got to offer? What do you got
- 13:28Speaker 7: to offer to us? So I see, I see the
- 13:31Speaker 7: business side of it. But uh, as a boxing fan,
- 13:36Speaker 7: you want those type of fights. You you call for
- 13:40Speaker 7: those fights, but the businesses get away. I get in,
- 13:43Speaker 7: get in the way of those fights happening.
- 13:46Speaker 5: So as a competitor after the fight, does the business
- 13:51Speaker 5: side kick in? Are you as competitive when you're looking
- 13:54Speaker 5: at the numbers coming back? I know there's some estimates
- 13:56Speaker 5: of over seven hundred thousand peoples you buys.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Are you looking at that saying, all right, we hit
- 14:01Speaker 3: our number?
- 14:02Speaker 5: Like other metrics that you're looking at from the business side,
- 14:04Speaker 5: what did the gate do?
- 14:06Speaker 3: Like? How does that? How does that go?
- 14:08Speaker 7: We were looking at everything, you know, at this point
- 14:13Speaker 7: of my career, we're gonna look at everything, you know.
- 14:17Speaker 7: We're gonna look at the sponsorships, We're gonna look at
- 14:19Speaker 7: the gay we're gonna look at the merchandise. We're gonna
- 14:22Speaker 7: look at everything, you know, because that that all matters
- 14:28Speaker 7: you know, and that's just part of the business.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm thinking to myself, right, because I mean, that's
- 14:35Speaker 5: that's the first thing they'll do, is like this is
- 14:38Speaker 5: the high the most one of the highest anticipated fights.
- 14:41Speaker 3: They're looking at the numbers.
- 14:42Speaker 5: They're saying, oh, wait, well Tank for Garcia and that
- 14:44Speaker 5: did this amount of views and this one did this amount.
- 14:47Speaker 3: They try to compare it.
- 14:48Speaker 5: But in your mind, was there a number that was
- 14:51Speaker 5: like if we hit this, this is successful or did
- 14:53Speaker 5: we underperform?
- 14:54Speaker 3: No?
- 14:54Speaker 4: No, not really.
- 14:55Speaker 7: I wasn't too too worried about that because I knew
- 15:00Speaker 7: uh me and Spence will sell. There wasn't a lot
- 15:05Speaker 7: of uh extraness going on with me and him. I
- 15:10Speaker 7: don't feel I feel like as if it wasn't covered enough,
- 15:15Speaker 7: like a Tank and a Ryan because of it wasn't
- 15:20Speaker 7: any controversy. It wasn't us bad mouthing each other. It
- 15:24Speaker 7: wasn't us disrespecting each other. It wasn't you know, us
- 15:29Speaker 7: pushing each other trying to do anything to you know,
- 15:34Speaker 7: make everybody.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Be like, oh did you see that? Did you see that?
- 15:37Speaker 4: You know? It was yeah, it was it was It
- 15:40Speaker 4: was mutual.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Respect, you know.
- 15:42Speaker 7: And I don't feel like, you know, two grown men
- 15:44Speaker 7: gotta put on a show just to sell a fight.
- 15:47Speaker 7: And I believe that me and him prove that. Well,
- 15:50Speaker 7: what's your relationship with Bob Aron? I don't have no
- 15:53Speaker 7: relationship with him? Like you stop working, you're not on
- 15:57Speaker 7: top rank? No, So why did that relationship end? Well,
- 16:01Speaker 7: you gotta understand, you know, once once a fighter get
- 16:04Speaker 7: to the to the point of where they start understanding
- 16:08Speaker 7: business and they started asking questions and they're not just
- 16:13Speaker 7: taking what you offer them, then things get complicated. And
- 16:17Speaker 7: then at the same time, he couldn't deliver the fights
- 16:21Speaker 7: that I wanted, Not because he couldn't, is because the
- 16:26Speaker 7: relationship that he had with the other promotional company without Haman, Yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 7: with PBC and our Hamen. So you know that was
- 16:36Speaker 7: another factor and just things just didn't work out between us.
- 16:41Speaker 6: So as far as like for a long time it
- 16:44Speaker 6: was it was Bob Baron is al Haimen, right, and
- 16:48Speaker 6: it made things complicated on the business side.
- 16:51Speaker 5: How do I say, where do I invest? Can I

- 17:26Speaker 6: The business model of boxing is like difficult for business
- 17:32Speaker 6: to get done well. Like let's say like a UFC
- 17:34Speaker 6: where everybody's under one umbrella, right boxing, So, but now
- 17:39Speaker 6: a lot of guys are kind of like independent doing
- 17:41Speaker 6: their own things. So the future of boxing, do you
- 17:44Speaker 6: see more people not necessarily having a promoter or kind
- 17:50Speaker 6: of like doing like co promotion because you're independent right now?
- 17:53Speaker 4: Right?
- 17:55Speaker 6: Is that something that you see more in your opinion
- 17:57Speaker 6: that's going to happen more in the future.
- 18:00Speaker 4: I would like it to happen.
- 18:02Speaker 7: But at the same time, you got to understand, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 7: some of these fighters that's growing up in the hood
- 18:11Speaker 7: or in the ghetto and poverty, they don't have no money.
- 18:15Speaker 7: So when a promoter come and see their talent and say, hey, listen,
- 18:20Speaker 7: I'll give you five hundred thousand dollars signing bonus, you know,
- 18:25Speaker 7: to sign with me for five years plus x X
- 18:28Speaker 7: if you become a champion. You know, it's hard to
- 18:32Speaker 7: turn that down, you know, and not not have the
- 18:36Speaker 7: right people around you to guide your career, because it's
- 18:39Speaker 7: hard to do things on your own when you're not
- 18:43Speaker 7: at this level where you're gonna fight at. How you're
- 18:46Speaker 7: gonna get any recognition? What network is you're gonna fight at?
- 18:50Speaker 4: You know, if.
- 18:53Speaker 7: If top rank, PBC, the zone, don't put you on TV,
- 18:59Speaker 7: nobody's going to see you. So now what how are
- 19:02Speaker 7: you going to market yourself?
- 19:04Speaker 4: You stuck?
- 19:05Speaker 7: You stuck in the box where you got all this talent,
- 19:08Speaker 7: but you ain't got nowhere to showcase that. You ain't
- 19:11Speaker 7: got no opportunity to showcase that. And then when you
- 19:14Speaker 7: do get the opportunity, people not really going to be
- 19:17Speaker 7: hipped on you. They might see you, but then now
- 19:20Speaker 7: your numbers is still at ground zero, and now they
- 19:25Speaker 7: use that as a bargaining tool.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Do you think a boxing league can never be, can
- 19:29Speaker 4: never happen?
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 19:31Speaker 7: Of course, if you know a lot of these old
- 19:33Speaker 7: fighters and you know, people that want to clean up
- 19:36Speaker 7: the sport of box and come together and put they
- 19:40Speaker 7: put their knowledge together and think of ways to make
- 19:44Speaker 7: an organization that's fair for all fighters.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Then yeah, it could happen.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Six hundred dollars as an amateur, that's what you will
- 19:54Speaker 3: make in your first fights, right, my first professional professional fights,
- 19:59Speaker 3: so to have where you're at now obviously multi million
- 20:03Speaker 3: dollar flights. He said something important in one of the
- 20:05Speaker 3: individual said, I had to surround myself around.
- 20:07Speaker 5: People who knew about money. I had no idea about money,
- 20:11Speaker 5: I had no idea about financial literacy. Who are those
- 20:14Speaker 5: people that you started surrounding yourself with earlier in your
- 20:16Speaker 5: career and how they're still around?
- 20:18Speaker 7: Of course, So first, first and foremost, I surrounded myself
- 20:22Speaker 7: with a fourth grade teacher. You know, she put me
- 20:27Speaker 7: in contact with a lot of individuals that have a
- 20:30Speaker 7: lot of money, that that's wealthy, that's doing great things
- 20:35Speaker 7: in life. And yeah, from their accountants to the financial
- 20:42Speaker 7: advisors to all that. And you know, I went from
- 20:47Speaker 7: just putting money in the bank and thinking, let me
- 20:51Speaker 7: just save the money to actually making real investments.
- 20:56Speaker 3: So yeah, it started. It started with her yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 5: When I asked the second part about the people still around,
- 21:03Speaker 5: because when I hear you talk, there's a humbleness, but
- 21:06Speaker 5: there's a sense of loyalty.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Like why I watch your fights. We can see the loyalty.
- 21:10Speaker 5: And we watched it when you fought in Omaha, and
- 21:14Speaker 5: a lot of people are looking at it like this,
- 21:15Speaker 5: why is he fighting Omaha? But there's a loyalty to
- 21:18Speaker 5: your hometown. And when I was reading about it, I'm
- 21:21Speaker 5: thinking to myself, is he taking the college athletics game
- 21:26Speaker 5: plan where it's like, you know what, there isn't a
- 21:27Speaker 5: major sports league here. There isn't none of the four
- 21:31Speaker 5: professional leagues in Nebraska, but the college team is here
- 21:34Speaker 5: and it's the biggest thing in the state. If I
- 21:36Speaker 5: can win Nebraska, the people will come out and support.
- 21:39Speaker 5: When you were going through the process of trying to
- 21:41Speaker 5: find waste where to fight, I know there was some
- 21:43Speaker 5: issues with your promotional team. They didn't want you to
- 21:45Speaker 5: do it. What was your mindset saying, I have to
- 21:47Speaker 5: do it here, I have to bring it here. This
- 21:49Speaker 5: is where loyalty lies.
- 21:51Speaker 7: No, that was just something that I always wanted to do,
- 21:55Speaker 7: was give back to my city, you know, because they
- 21:59Speaker 7: always been supportive of me ever since the Nationals, you know,
- 22:02Speaker 7: ever since I was a little kid.
- 22:04Speaker 4: They always supported me to the fullest.
- 22:06Speaker 7: And I just always knew if I brought an event
- 22:10Speaker 7: to Omaha that it would sell out, that they would
- 22:14Speaker 7: come out, they'll support I was fighting, you know, in
- 22:19Speaker 7: Barns in Iowa City, Iowa, with fifty people in it.
- 22:23Speaker 7: I was fighting in ames At, Iowa, you know, with
- 22:28Speaker 7: girls being the main event. It ain't nobody there but
- 22:31Speaker 7: my whole family taking that drive and I got most
- 22:36Speaker 7: of the crowd, you know, So I was coming up.
- 22:40Speaker 7: It was tough, and I was just like, I don't
- 22:43Speaker 7: understand the level of confidence that they got in these people,
- 22:51Speaker 7: making them the headline of the show. But they wouldn't
- 22:55Speaker 7: give me the opportunity to fight. And that wasn't with
- 22:58Speaker 7: Todd Rank. That was with TKO Promotions. So once I
- 23:04Speaker 7: got signed by Todd Rank, I stressed it the fact
- 23:08Speaker 7: that I wanted to fight in Omaha. I told him,
- 23:11Speaker 7: I'm like, listen, I want to I want to fight
- 23:12Speaker 7: in Omaha. I got a big following in Omaha and
- 23:17Speaker 7: I think it would be big.
- 23:19Speaker 4: They really too much didn't believe me.
- 23:22Speaker 7: Bob them said you win the title, we're gonna bring
- 23:27Speaker 7: it back to Omaha. So once I won, they wanted
- 23:31Speaker 7: to take it to Iowa where the casinos it's only
- 23:35Speaker 7: like what ten minutes away, five minutes away.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I'm like, no, I'm not fighting there.
- 23:40Speaker 7: I just had to stand my ground, like listen, it's
- 23:44Speaker 7: Omaha on nothing because ten thousand people, it's going to
- 23:48Speaker 7: be way more than that. And they was looking like,
- 23:52Speaker 7: all right, we're gonna see So once once the fight
- 23:57Speaker 7: got announced with me and Gambol and they seen them
- 24:00Speaker 7: agnitude and the support of the people that came out
- 24:05Speaker 7: the support me and cheer me on. They was like, man,
- 24:09Speaker 7: this is this is crazy, this is incredible. And I'm like,
- 24:12Speaker 7: I told you, well, you you are the illness.
- 24:20Speaker 3: That's a fact.
- 24:23Speaker 5: From Nebraska. Yeah, there's another two from Nebraska. If I'm
- 24:27Speaker 5: at the blow the business, the oracle of the Oracle
- 24:31Speaker 5: of Omaha. Yes, so I'm wondering, as you're sending in
- 24:34Speaker 5: your career boxing, is the oracle watching you?
- 24:37Speaker 3: And of course he is watching.
- 24:39Speaker 4: He likes boxing.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I know, what's the first time he reaches out.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Well, he never reached on you know.
- 24:45Speaker 7: He came to a couple of my fights in Omahall
- 24:49Speaker 7: came backstage, you know, showed support and love. Uh, weren't
- 24:55Speaker 7: always been cool. Like I sit down meet with him.
- 24:59Speaker 7: We're trying it up for hours.
- 25:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 25:02Speaker 3: This is stuff that people pay million dollars to do.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That's a fact and big fact.
- 25:06Speaker 7: And we sitting here just chopping it up about whatever,
- 25:11Speaker 7: you know, And I'm just like, man, this dude, like
- 25:15Speaker 7: one of the most popular dudes on the planet down there,
- 25:19Speaker 7: and he's sitting here chopping it up with me. And
- 25:22Speaker 7: we take a picture and he's like, man, put me
- 25:26Speaker 7: in a headlock. I'm like, huh. I'm like, man, like,
- 25:31Speaker 7: put me in a headlock. I'm like, put me come here,
- 25:34Speaker 7: you know what i mean. Just joking around, you know.
- 25:36Speaker 7: And I was just like, man, this due real life chill.
- 25:39Speaker 7: And I didn't got the got the opportunity to sit
- 25:42Speaker 7: down with him, and you don't have conversation with him
- 25:45Speaker 7: multiple times, And I think that was real dope.
- 25:48Speaker 4: What's anything that you that you might have learned picked
- 25:50Speaker 4: up from him?
- 25:52Speaker 7: Oh man, just a little certain investments, But it was
- 25:55Speaker 7: stuff that I was already invested in, you know. I
- 25:59Speaker 7: was just like, you know, what, what do he think
- 26:04Speaker 7: about this? What do he think about that? And he
- 26:08Speaker 7: gave me his opinion, and his main thing was, you know,
- 26:12Speaker 7: get you a team that you can count on. His
- 26:15Speaker 7: main thing was having a strong team. And he stressed
- 26:22Speaker 7: that he wouldn't been able to accomplish all the things
- 26:26Speaker 7: that he done accomplished if it wasn't for his team,
- 26:31Speaker 7: you know.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And I was like, how can I be a part
- 26:33Speaker 4: of your team on their.
- 26:37Speaker 3: You know what I mean, Charlie, we can get this
- 26:40Speaker 3: thing going.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's cool though.
- 26:42Speaker 6: So I saw a post you talked about how you
- 26:43Speaker 6: spent your first million dollars? Can you talk about that
- 26:46Speaker 6: a little bit?
- 26:47Speaker 4: Yeah? We did.
- 26:48Speaker 7: We did the show, Uh how I spent my first
- 26:52Speaker 7: million dollars? And it was just that, you know, my
- 26:55Speaker 7: first million, most of it I spent on my family
- 27:00Speaker 7: and you know, trying to make sure everybody is it's
- 27:03Speaker 7: said cool.
- 27:05Speaker 4: You know I was. I was the type of person
- 27:11Speaker 4: that I really didn't care too much about shit.
- 27:14Speaker 3: For me.
- 27:15Speaker 7: I cared about my family, my sisters, my mom, my nieces,
- 27:19Speaker 7: my nephew, my kids. How they was. So I used
- 27:23Speaker 7: to always just save my money and they were like, man,
- 27:25Speaker 7: you can't take.
- 27:26Speaker 4: It with you.
- 27:27Speaker 3: And I'm like, yeah, you're right.
- 27:29Speaker 7: So I just started spending, spending, spending, and I'm like,
- 27:33Speaker 7: all right now, like I need to fight.
- 27:37Speaker 4: So then it got to a point where you know,
- 27:40Speaker 4: I got more you know, reasonable.
- 27:44Speaker 7: With my spins and stuff like that, and you know,
- 27:48Speaker 7: sisters houses, sisters cars, cousins cars, nephew cars. You know,
- 27:55Speaker 7: remodeled my mom whole house twice, you know, bought her car.
- 28:00Speaker 7: I bought my grandma car. Then I bought me a house,
- 28:03Speaker 7: you know, me a vehicle and stuff like that. So
- 28:06Speaker 7: I took care of everybody.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 5: One of the other things that was impressive, and again
- 28:10Speaker 5: it speaks to the character is that you started to
- 28:13Speaker 5: be in be academy for you know, people to create
- 28:18Speaker 5: in a gym for the youth of your hometown.
- 28:22Speaker 3: You said that you're independent.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Now from the standpoint of promoting boxing, are you looking
- 28:26Speaker 5: to want to create your own team of fighters?
- 28:31Speaker 3: And is that was that division when you created B
- 28:33Speaker 3: and B.
- 28:34Speaker 7: No, that definitely wasn't the vision. But we definitely got
- 28:39Speaker 7: our own team. It's called B and B Promotions. That's
- 28:43Speaker 7: where me and Bryan I'm TBC Promotions. That's a different entity.
- 28:48Speaker 7: But my thing was I got kicked out of the
- 28:53Speaker 7: gym that I once was at CW Youth Resource Center
- 28:58Speaker 7: because I wouldn't sign a contract to pay them every
- 29:01Speaker 7: month because I was turning pro and I was like,
- 29:05Speaker 7: nobody else was met with the contract. So I was like, man,
- 29:10Speaker 7: I'm not signing nothing, and uh, the owner just basically
- 29:15Speaker 7: said if you don't sign this, you out go.
- 29:17Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, I'm leaving. So basically
- 29:19Speaker 4: I just left.
- 29:20Speaker 7: And I just was like, man, I don't want that
- 29:24Speaker 7: to ever happen to another fighter again. You know, you're
- 29:29Speaker 7: forcing him to do something that you know is against
- 29:33Speaker 7: what he believed in.
- 29:35Speaker 4: And he's been there since he was seven years old.
- 29:37Speaker 7: So basically, y'all trying to, you know, get over on him,
- 29:41Speaker 7: you know, y'all trying to take advantage of him. And
- 29:45Speaker 7: we start going to a different gym, and me and
- 29:48Speaker 7: Bo came up with the idea of and.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Then let's just get our own, Jim, we.
- 29:52Speaker 7: Ain't got to go to nobody else gym, we don't
- 29:54Speaker 7: got to follow nobody else's rules. Let's get our own gym.
- 29:58Speaker 7: And at the time, I think it was twenty twelve,
- 30:02Speaker 7: we found the warehouse that was just full of old
- 30:06Speaker 7: storage stuff. We rented one side out. You know, we
- 30:13Speaker 7: didn't have nothing in it. We was just rented out,
- 30:15Speaker 7: but still using that gym, and like every time I fight,
- 30:19Speaker 7: we'll put a little bit in it. Put a little
- 30:21Speaker 7: bit in it. And then we had, you know, a
- 30:24Speaker 7: couple of friends that was helping out. You know, my
- 30:28Speaker 7: boy Many, he was paying the rent. He was like,
- 30:32Speaker 7: you know what, y'all focus on box. I'm gonna pay
- 30:34Speaker 7: the rent for eight months that y'all ain't got to
- 30:37Speaker 7: worry about it. Then at that time, you know, we
- 30:40Speaker 7: just kept putting money in it. Then we got the ring.
- 30:42Speaker 7: Then we started training there and it wasn't open to
- 30:45Speaker 7: the public and earners.
- 30:47Speaker 5: What's going on, Listen, EYLU is relaunching, revamping, retooling. That's
- 30:52Speaker 5: why we're creating a new educational experience that's more expensive.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Shoty, tell what we got.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Yes twenty twenty three, we got a lot. I'm still
- 31:00Speaker 6: a lot planning for you guys. So you know that

- 31:17Speaker 6: seven local chapters from across the United States, live interactive teaching,

- 33:33Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 33:36Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 33:40Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 33:45Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 33:49Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 33:52Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christine Nohm, the United States
- 33:56Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 34:01Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 34:04Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 34:08Speaker 1: were here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 34:12Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 34:16Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 34:19Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump America's laws,
- 34:28Speaker 1: border and families will.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 34:34Speaker 7: Once we got it to where the bags and everything
- 34:37Speaker 7: was there, then we open it to the public and
- 34:39Speaker 7: I was like, I don't want them to have to
- 34:41Speaker 7: pay nothing. I wanted to be free for everybody to
- 34:46Speaker 7: come in get a workout. They don't got a box.
- 34:50Speaker 7: They can just come for health health as well. They
- 34:54Speaker 7: can come to learn how to defend theyself. They can
- 34:57Speaker 7: come just to hit the bag, let some steam off.
- 35:01Speaker 7: They can come to try the box, which we know
- 35:04Speaker 7: everybody ain't gonna be successful in boxing. A lot of
- 35:07Speaker 7: kids they come in there, want the box, they get
- 35:09Speaker 7: punched and then they leave, But we want to encourage them,
- 35:12Speaker 7: like you don't got a box, but you can still
- 35:14Speaker 7: come and train, you know, still work out.
- 35:17Speaker 4: And we eventually bought.
- 35:20Speaker 7: The other side, made it one big gym and half
- 35:24Speaker 7: the side that we once was on, we made it
- 35:26Speaker 7: a wrestling room.
- 35:28Speaker 4: So yeah, it's free for all the kids and everything.
- 35:31Speaker 4: You still got ties to wrestling, definitely, so my kids wrestling.
- 35:35Speaker 6: Speaking of wrestling on the ww East side, right, this
- 35:39Speaker 6: goes back to boxing.
- 35:41Speaker 4: You a very male manned person.
- 35:43Speaker 6: You said, like the last fight, you didn't have to
- 35:45Speaker 6: do a lot of like antics to try to promote
- 35:49Speaker 6: the fight. But the fighters that have always excelled have
- 35:52Speaker 6: always taken on all to egos. We seen Floyd, he said, like,
- 35:56Speaker 6: you know, when he was pretty boy Floyd, he was
- 35:59Speaker 6: a star when he was when he may whether that's
- 36:01Speaker 6: when he became the icon.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Muhammad Ali.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Everybody knows how loud and voiterous he was, even Mike Tyson,
- 36:07Speaker 6: Mike Tyson wasn't really that loud, but.
- 36:09Speaker 4: He just had a very special orga.
- 36:11Speaker 3: It was crazy. Yeah, he just had to take over.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I mean, you're right, Golden Boys change it.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so this is all right?
- 36:19Speaker 6: So do you ever think about that, like, all right,
- 36:24Speaker 6: maybe I should just do a little bit more add
- 36:26Speaker 6: a little bit more flash or are you just comfortable
- 36:29Speaker 6: just staying in your lane?
- 36:31Speaker 7: Always being comfortable with standing in my line? I never
- 36:34Speaker 7: wanted to be like nobody else, you know what was
- 36:39Speaker 7: meant for me I have. You know, if they couldn't
- 36:44Speaker 7: you know, respect me for being authentic in myself, then
- 36:48Speaker 7: it wasn't meant to be. You know, I never wanted
- 36:51Speaker 7: to put on a show for for ones entertainment. I'm
- 36:57Speaker 7: entertaining in the ring now outside the you know, you're
- 37:01Speaker 7: paying for what I'm doing to these guys in the ring,
- 37:04Speaker 7: not for what I'm saying and hopping up and down
- 37:08Speaker 7: on the stage. You know, when you look at all
- 37:12Speaker 7: those guys that you just name, you know, look at
- 37:16Speaker 7: what comes with what they've done negativity. They got to
- 37:20Speaker 7: have all these security guards around them. They gotta you know,
- 37:23Speaker 7: watch they back because so many people want to do
- 37:27Speaker 7: harmful things to them. Just because of their actions, and
- 37:30Speaker 7: not only that, now they start getting into it with
- 37:34Speaker 7: people outside of the ring because.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Of their character, you know.
- 37:40Speaker 7: So yeah, I never want to be something that I'm
- 37:44Speaker 7: not because you know, what you see is what you get.
- 37:48Speaker 5: You built the gym, I believe you said it was
- 37:52Speaker 5: one hundred thousand inn. But even in that story when
- 37:55Speaker 5: you spent your first million, the most important pieces that
- 37:58Speaker 5: you were buying with real estate, right is that something
- 38:02Speaker 5: and even the renovation part that's something that you know
- 38:04Speaker 5: that's hands on. How evolved are you in terms of
- 38:07Speaker 5: the real estate portfolio, because I'm sure at this point
- 38:10Speaker 5: it is growing. We just talked about, you know, you're
- 38:12Speaker 5: doing a new build, how involved you in that process?
- 38:14Speaker 3: And you enjoy it?
- 38:16Speaker 4: Heavy? Heavy, you know what I mean. Like it's crazy.
- 38:20Speaker 7: I just closed on, you know, a housewipe before this fight,
- 38:26Speaker 7: and I closed on, you know, a big old building,
- 38:31Speaker 7: you know, right in the middle of this. Like I
- 38:35Speaker 7: got probably like over forty houses in Nebraska. In Nebraska,
- 38:42Speaker 7: probably like six seven apartment complexes. You know, I got land,
- 38:49Speaker 7: I got you know, storefronts. So I'm heavy. I'm heavy
- 38:55Speaker 7: in the real estate.
- 38:56Speaker 6: Talk about the land. How lot A lot of people
- 38:59Speaker 6: are interested in real estate right now. But why is
- 39:01Speaker 6: important for you to own land? God ain't making no
- 39:04Speaker 6: more land, you know. So if you can buy some
- 39:08Speaker 6: land that's in in a great area and.
- 39:12Speaker 7: You can you can build on it, you can sell it,
- 39:15Speaker 7: you can rent it, you can do multiple things with it,
- 39:18Speaker 7: you know, or you can just hold on to it
- 39:22Speaker 7: till you figure out what you're gonna do with it,
- 39:25Speaker 7: you know, because the world is constantly shifting, you know,
- 39:30Speaker 7: and it may it may shift from one area to
- 39:34Speaker 7: another area because that area is already you know, to
- 39:39Speaker 7: to flooded, so you know, you got to move elsewhere.
- 39:44Speaker 7: So you know, I got some some real valuable properties, you.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Know that I'm a build on and.
- 39:54Speaker 7: Yeah, and it's gonna accumulate general wealth, generational wealth.
- 39:59Speaker 4: I would say, you know, you got a lot going on.
- 40:02Speaker 6: Do you have somebody like that it's like running those
- 40:04Speaker 6: day to day operations of your real estate portfolio.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 7: Well, I'm a partner with my guy Mark and my
- 40:13Speaker 7: girl she handled all my homes and stuff like that.
- 40:16Speaker 7: And I got people that give me advice on you know,
- 40:22Speaker 7: things to buy that's that's hot, that's not even on the.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Market, you know, And whatnot.
- 40:30Speaker 7: So I got I got a lot of great opportunities
- 40:34Speaker 7: for you know, great business adventures.
- 40:38Speaker 3: When we think Omaha, we think Nebraska.
- 40:42Speaker 5: I wonder from a standpoint of real estate, is there
- 40:44Speaker 5: an agricultural play as well, because we know a lot
- 40:47Speaker 5: of farm land, a lot of resources come from middle
- 40:50Speaker 5: of America. Are you looking at from that standpoint or
- 40:53Speaker 5: are you looking at it from a commercial standpoint where
- 40:56Speaker 5: I can bring additional businesses to add to the appreciation.
- 41:01Speaker 7: All you know, I got, like I said, I got,
- 41:04Speaker 7: I got twenty acres. You know that I'm building on
- 41:07Speaker 7: right now, you know, and I can I can do
- 41:10Speaker 7: all that there.
- 41:11Speaker 4: You know.
- 41:12Speaker 7: I can build a greenhouse out in the back of
- 41:15Speaker 7: my yard. I can put some cows and stuff horses
- 41:19Speaker 7: in the back of my yard.
- 41:20Speaker 4: You know.
- 41:22Speaker 7: That's that's That's not anything that I can't do. I
- 41:27Speaker 7: already have the store fronts and all that. So yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 7: like the sky's the limon. Let's talk about boxing.
- 41:37Speaker 6: If you what all right, if you had to give
- 41:40Speaker 6: advice with some a young fighter coming up right, what path?
- 41:44Speaker 6: Because it's like I think your path you've signed with
- 41:47Speaker 6: a promotional company and then you go independent. That's pretty
- 41:50Speaker 6: common with a lot of boxes, and then it's like
- 41:53Speaker 6: do you just do one off deals? We saw Canelo
- 41:56Speaker 6: he did a major deal with the streaming service. I
- 41:59Speaker 6: don't know ever watching these fights though, but he's getting
- 42:02Speaker 6: paid regardless. There's different strategies, Like what do you think,
- 42:06Speaker 6: like one off deal's the streaming service way, the long
- 42:09Speaker 6: term partnership with a promoter, Like what do you think
- 42:13Speaker 6: is the best way to go about it?
- 42:15Speaker 7: Well, it's hard for you to say that because, like
- 42:17Speaker 7: I said, you know, what part and what part in
- 42:22Speaker 7: their career are we talking? Are we talking when you
- 42:26Speaker 7: first start, or when you become champion or when you.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Like as a champion, Like once you're established already, it's
- 42:33Speaker 6: now you got leverage, right, You don't have leverage when
- 42:35Speaker 6: you first start. So I guess you have to go
- 42:36Speaker 6: with a promoter.
- 42:37Speaker 4: It depends on It depends on how your name is.
- 42:41Speaker 7: Like I said that, that takes to where I was saying,
- 42:44Speaker 7: you can become a champion, but know, nobody really too
- 42:48Speaker 7: much care about who you are. You know, do you
- 42:51Speaker 7: got to name that's been marketed? Do you got a
- 42:56Speaker 7: name that's been pushed because some promoters they'll keep you
- 42:59Speaker 7: on this level where you need them on purpose, you
- 43:03Speaker 7: know what I mean. Yeah, they don't want you to
- 43:05Speaker 7: get to reach that. They don't want you to reach
- 43:07Speaker 7: too high. So you know what I mean, They ain't
- 43:11Speaker 7: gonna do certain things to push you to be this superstar,
- 43:14Speaker 7: because once you become a superstar.
- 43:17Speaker 4: You outgrow the belts, you outgrow in the promotional company.
- 43:20Speaker 7: Your name speaks for yourself, kind of like Floyd Mayweather,
- 43:24Speaker 7: you know, Manny Pak y'all, Oscar delo Oya.
- 43:27Speaker 4: You know, they can do anything in boxing.
- 43:30Speaker 7: When they was boxing and they didn't have to have
- 43:34Speaker 7: a title, they didn't have to be named champion. Those
- 43:38Speaker 7: sanctioned bodies wanted to be a part of them, like
- 43:41Speaker 7: Canelo right now, Canelo don't have to be a champion.
- 43:45Speaker 7: He's made a name for himself and he's earned the
- 43:50Speaker 7: right to do what he's doing right now, and that's
- 43:53Speaker 7: going to get a bag from here, going here, going here,
- 43:56Speaker 7: doing business with him, them them, because he's he's got
- 44:00Speaker 7: a name, and everybody know that if Canelo make a fight,
- 44:06Speaker 7: then the people in Mexico is going to support them,
- 44:10Speaker 7: the people in the United States is going to support them,
- 44:12Speaker 7: and it's going to be a big event.
- 44:14Speaker 5: When when you're I mean now as you're doing this
- 44:16Speaker 5: independently and for people who are not familiar with how
- 44:19Speaker 5: boxes make money, because that's why I rest up. They're
- 44:22Speaker 5: interesting that there was hedge funds that were willing to
- 44:24Speaker 5: put up the purse for you and dispense fight, which
- 44:28Speaker 5: is like, okay, it's a.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Lot of money. So like, how do our boxes getting
- 44:32Speaker 3: the money?
- 44:33Speaker 5: It's the purse, it's maybe percentage of the gate concessions.
- 44:38Speaker 3: How what are the streams of income?
- 44:39Speaker 7: It depends on, It depends, It depends on you know
- 44:43Speaker 7: what I mean. A fighter see in my case, you know,
- 44:46Speaker 7: I get it. I get a percentage of everything that
- 44:49Speaker 7: come in, everything, every penny that come in, I get
- 44:53Speaker 7: a percentage of it. You know, if you sign a guarantee,
- 44:57Speaker 7: then that's all you you get. You know, one thing
- 45:01Speaker 7: about the heads fine that you know, I'm glad, I'm
- 45:06Speaker 7: kind of glad that we didn't you know, sign that,
- 45:12Speaker 7: given that we don't get paid until they make their
- 45:16Speaker 7: money back, you know what I mean. So once they
- 45:20Speaker 7: make their money back, then they get a percentage of
- 45:24Speaker 7: you know what I mean, everything that comes in. So
- 45:29Speaker 7: it kind of take away from the fighters other towards
- 45:33Speaker 7: you know what I mean, us betting on ourselves. We're
- 45:37Speaker 7: just like all right, whatever come in is gonna be us.
- 45:41Speaker 5: But like at this level that the marquee guys, like
- 45:45Speaker 5: the person is the guarantee money that they get win
- 45:47Speaker 5: or lose.
- 45:48Speaker 6: And then if you can, you could get more than
- 45:50Speaker 6: that if the pay per view numbers come back, right.
- 45:53Speaker 4: But you know what I mean, some people don't.
- 45:55Speaker 7: Some people get like probably like eight percent nine percent
- 45:58Speaker 7: of a.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Pay per view fight.
- 46:00Speaker 7: They probably get like I was getting what six eight
- 46:04Speaker 7: percent of the gate, you know what I mean? So
- 46:09Speaker 7: like I said, your promoter, he's getting all that.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So what I'm saying, you're getting six percent, then there's
- 46:15Speaker 3: somebody that's in the ninety four percent.
- 46:17Speaker 7: Yeah, I was getting six percent of the gate. I
- 46:19Speaker 7: was getting eight eight to six percent of the pay
- 46:24Speaker 7: per view shares after meet and meet, like a certain
- 46:30Speaker 7: number that it never never messy.
- 46:33Speaker 3: It's so crazy. Yeah.
- 46:35Speaker 7: So that's what I mean by when I say boxing
- 46:39Speaker 7: is kind of shady, Well they ain't.
- 46:41Speaker 6: Connoshated is so essentially all right, a kid sixteen years
- 46:46Speaker 6: old shows shows very promising career ahead of himself. I'm
- 46:50Speaker 6: a promoter, right, I come in. I give the kid
- 46:52Speaker 6: five hundred thousand dollars. I signed him to an eight
- 46:55Speaker 6: year contract. Never huh never longer no never. You can't
- 47:02Speaker 6: sign nobody for a long five five all right, So
- 47:08Speaker 6: that standard. I signed for a five year contract as
- 47:10Speaker 6: soon as he turns pro and I pay for his training,
- 47:14Speaker 6: I pay for a lot of the promotions, but I'm
- 47:17Speaker 6: receiving the majority of the money I got it.
- 47:19Speaker 4: It's an investment for me because he might not even
- 47:21Speaker 4: work out.
- 47:22Speaker 6: But if he does work out, I'm gonna recoup all
- 47:25Speaker 6: of that money on the back end.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Times tand.
- 47:30Speaker 6: So you really but it's really looking at it like
- 47:32Speaker 6: if I got ten fighters, nine of them probably not
- 47:35Speaker 6: gonna work out. So the one fighter that does work out.
- 47:38Speaker 3: What you're gonna get.
- 47:39Speaker 7: But the thing is like this, you know you're not
- 47:42Speaker 7: gonna You know, you've been around boxing long enough.
- 47:45Speaker 4: So you can tell which one, you know what I mean?
- 47:48Speaker 7: Uh, what fighters bring to the table and what fighters
- 47:53Speaker 7: that you thought was gonna be something that they not,
- 47:57Speaker 7: because it's how you move them.
- 47:59Speaker 4: You know, you you you got all this money invested
- 48:02Speaker 4: in him.
- 48:02Speaker 7: You're not about to get him beat You're not about
- 48:04Speaker 7: to put him in there with some crazy opponent. So
- 48:07Speaker 7: you you constantly room in them step by step, and
- 48:12Speaker 7: if you don't see what you you know what I
- 48:14Speaker 7: mean you want to see in them, then you're gonna
- 48:16Speaker 7: throw them to the wools and you're gonna have your
- 48:19Speaker 7: other fighter knock him off and you still make money.
- 48:22Speaker 7: You're gonna make as much money as you can with him.
- 48:26Speaker 7: You know why, you got him to recoup the money
- 48:28Speaker 7: that you invested in him. And then you're gonna get
- 48:31Speaker 7: him knocked off. And then after that, after you can't
- 48:34Speaker 7: use him, you're gonna you're gonna cut him just like that.
- 48:37Speaker 7: You're gonna say, oh, termination, we don't want you no more.
- 48:41Speaker 7: And I find that kind of messed up as well.
- 48:43Speaker 7: You know that a promotional company can say they can
- 48:47Speaker 7: terminate your contract like this, you know, but you can't
- 48:51Speaker 7: terminate the promotional contract like all right, I don't want
- 48:55Speaker 7: you to promote me no more.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Yeah, So it's always a one way stress.
- 48:58Speaker 5: It's a so like even like the networks, like when
- 49:00Speaker 5: Showtime does a fighter, the HBO does a fight, they're
- 49:02Speaker 5: inside of that ninety four percent as well.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Right, if you're making six percent.
- 49:05Speaker 7: Of you got to understand like when these networks, when
- 49:09Speaker 7: these networks go to a promotional company, they give a
- 49:13Speaker 7: promotional company a budget and they say, okay, well here
- 49:18Speaker 7: this is for you know, this fight these two guys
- 49:22Speaker 7: to fight, you know, and you don't know about that.
- 49:26Speaker 7: It could be ten million dollars, it could be five
- 49:29Speaker 7: million dollars. You know, they give you a million, they
- 49:33Speaker 7: give you a million and a half, and they just
- 49:35Speaker 7: parket the reds because it ain't like you can say, oh,
- 49:38Speaker 7: well what they put put it on the table, or
- 49:41Speaker 7: sometimes you don't know.
- 49:43Speaker 5: In terms of sponsorships, we've seen some fighters have deals
- 49:47Speaker 5: with athletic companies. I wonder how you approach that right
- 49:50Speaker 5: like I've seen I remember when Roy Jones at the
- 49:53Speaker 5: Joining brand that was like, ooh, this is crazy. You
- 49:54Speaker 5: got to join a sneaker and then you know, Floyd
- 49:56Speaker 5: did a quick thing with Reebok.
- 49:58Speaker 3: What's that like for you? In terms of athletic brands
- 50:01Speaker 3: and sponsorships when it comes to to your portfolio.
- 50:04Speaker 7: It's it's very tough nowadays because a lot of those
- 50:09Speaker 7: big Mrquie brands is UH going to other sports like football,
- 50:15Speaker 7: basketball and the other other sports. So when you look
- 50:19Speaker 7: at UH, the Jordan brand. Andre Ward was the last
- 50:24Speaker 7: one to have a Jordan brand, right right, you know
- 50:26Speaker 7: when you look at the under armor, Canelo was the
- 50:31Speaker 7: last one. I had an under armored brand. Reebok Floyd
- 50:35Speaker 7: was the last one.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Nike. I think Nike did something with PA.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Nike did somewhere pack y'all, and that was it.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that was it.
- 50:42Speaker 4: You know.
- 50:42Speaker 7: So you will see a lot of people wearing Nike.
- 50:46Speaker 7: You'll see a lot of people wearing Adidas, and Adidas give.
- 50:49Speaker 4: A little money.
- 50:50Speaker 7: Ever last, give a little money, but not to the
- 50:54Speaker 7: to the level of you know what I mean, what
- 50:56Speaker 7: they was doing back then.
- 50:57Speaker 4: So there's been reports that some fighters, like we just
- 51:01Speaker 4: programmed program weren't paid in full after that bouts. Have
- 51:07Speaker 4: that ever? Has that ever happened to you?
- 51:08Speaker 7: No, I believe he got his money, but I don't.
- 51:12Speaker 7: I don't know nothing about that. I heard about it,
- 51:14Speaker 7: but I don't know.
- 51:16Speaker 6: You've never seen that though, Yeah, okay, like a fighter
- 51:18Speaker 6: actually forough and then still then' it's like that's like
- 51:20Speaker 6: going to a club performing.
- 51:22Speaker 7: Especially if you got to guarantee you supposed to get
- 51:25Speaker 7: paid right after my Why.
- 51:26Speaker 5: Feel comfortable if I owed your money you gotta pay
- 51:31Speaker 5: a boxer.
- 51:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like, this is not it's not gonna end.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Well yeah, definitely, definitely. Well let me can we talk
- 51:39Speaker 4: about black Prime? Yeah, let's go. So did you sign
- 51:44Speaker 4: for ten million dollars for.
- 51:47Speaker 3: All allegedly allegedly?
- 51:51Speaker 6: So what happened? What happened with what happened with that situation?
- 51:53Speaker 6: Because that's not even is it still around or yeah,
- 51:55Speaker 6: it's still around. They still doing fights and all that. Okay,
- 51:59Speaker 6: They reached out to me. They wanted to do business, and.
- 52:04Speaker 7: They was looking for the opportunity to step in on
- 52:08Speaker 7: a on a bigger platform because they was on low,
- 52:11Speaker 7: low platform. And they shot me a number and I
- 52:14Speaker 7: was just like, huh all right, you know, and uh
- 52:19Speaker 7: at that time, I was in negotiations with Arrow last
- 52:24Speaker 7: year and the negotiations was going south. You know, we
- 52:30Speaker 7: wasn't we wasn't really getting anything accomplished. We was just
- 52:34Speaker 7: going back and forth. But I wasn't talking with ear.
- 52:37Speaker 7: I was just talking with his handlers and stuff like that.
- 52:41Speaker 7: And I was just like, look, and this is what
- 52:45Speaker 7: needs to be put on the table for me to fight.
- 52:49Speaker 7: And they basically was like, look, take it or leave it.
- 52:53Speaker 7: You ain't got nowhere else to go. So at that
- 52:56Speaker 7: point of time, I was just like, okay, all right,
- 53:01Speaker 7: see y'all in a minute, you know what I mean.
- 53:03Speaker 7: And I reached back out to be okay prime and
- 53:07Speaker 7: it was like, man, we with it. You know who
- 53:11Speaker 7: you want to fight? I'm like, I don't fight anybody.
- 53:14Speaker 7: So at the time, we picked the highest rating person
- 53:17Speaker 7: available and that was David Avenezian. He was ranked number
- 53:21Speaker 7: six in the division, you know. And we got the
- 53:27Speaker 7: fight done and I got paid, and you know, I
- 53:32Speaker 7: went back to the drawing board and went back to
- 53:34Speaker 7: the table and said, hey, look, you know, is we
- 53:38Speaker 7: gonna get this fight lined up?
- 53:40Speaker 4: Or is we gonna still keep waiting?
- 53:46Speaker 3: So the most important thing to you boxing is your career.
- 53:49Speaker 5: But the most important thing and it's evident every time
- 53:51Speaker 5: I watch the fights, I see that front row, I
- 53:53Speaker 5: see that family and being a father. Talk about that
- 53:56Speaker 5: inside of you know, the stringer was training of preparing
- 54:00Speaker 5: for something that like a prize fight, because even after
- 54:04Speaker 5: the fight, I know, you know, you're still about like
- 54:06Speaker 5: checking your kids schedule, like I gotta be at distract me,
- 54:08Speaker 5: So like talk about that for a little bit.
- 54:10Speaker 7: Man, being a father is one of the greatest things
- 54:14Speaker 7: that ever happened to me.
- 54:16Speaker 4: You know.
- 54:16Speaker 7: I always say being a father saved my life because
- 54:21Speaker 7: I was out on the streets getting shot, doing doing
- 54:24Speaker 7: the most, you know what I mean. And once I
- 54:27Speaker 7: had my first son, like that just changed my whole
- 54:31Speaker 7: way of thinking, you know, uh, because I got to
- 54:34Speaker 7: be here for him.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I didn't want to.
- 54:38Speaker 7: Be that selfish to be still doing the negative stuff
- 54:41Speaker 7: that I was doing and end up in jail or day.
- 54:44Speaker 7: And now you know, he's growing up without a father,
- 54:48Speaker 7: and in this day and age.
- 54:51Speaker 4: It wouldn't have been it wouldn't have been good for him,
- 54:54Speaker 4: you know.
- 54:54Speaker 7: So uh, yeah, I always strive to be there for
- 54:58Speaker 7: my kids and every way, shape or form. Because my
- 55:03Speaker 7: dad left when I was one years old. He was
- 55:05Speaker 7: in the Navy, so he was always out to sea,
- 55:09Speaker 7: he was always He lived in Virginia, so that's two
- 55:12Speaker 7: different states, you know, and we didn't get to see
- 55:16Speaker 7: him as often. So yeah, like he wasn't there for nothing, really,
- 55:22Speaker 7: you know. So I always told myself, I'm gonna be
- 55:27Speaker 7: there for everything my kids do, per days, holidays, everything
- 55:33Speaker 7: in that way, they don't never grow up and say
- 55:37Speaker 7: dad wasn't there, or Dad didn't have time because the boxing,
- 55:41Speaker 7: or Dad this or Dad that. All they're going to say,
- 55:45Speaker 7: Dad was there through through it all. Dad left training
- 55:48Speaker 7: camp to go to our national wrestling matches. Dad left
- 55:52Speaker 7: training camp to go see us perform doing the national tracks,
- 55:59Speaker 7: like just all that stuff that means stuff to him.
- 56:02Speaker 4: You know, I'm going to be there. So what's your walk?
- 56:05Speaker 4: What's your walking weight? Ship one forty seven?
- 56:11Speaker 6: Why everybody asks me that? That's a common question you get.
- 56:15Speaker 4: Yeah, everybody want to know how so I'm skinny man.
- 56:19Speaker 6: We talked about Trillo, but from a financial standpoint. This
- 56:24Speaker 6: is why I asked you this question, because you might
- 56:25Speaker 6: have an advantage as far as the weight is concerned.
- 56:27Speaker 6: But the biggest fight that I think that could be
- 56:30Speaker 6: made is Tank Davis on a catchweight situation. He I
- 56:37Speaker 6: think he said that he felt confident that he would
- 56:40Speaker 6: win that fight. So how you feel about that? How
- 56:46Speaker 6: you feel about that fight? Is it possible? Is it
- 56:49Speaker 6: even possible to catch weight?
- 56:51Speaker 3: Now?
- 56:51Speaker 7: Ain't no Catchway's no catchway? And you come up to
- 56:55Speaker 7: forty seven? Yeah, now entertaining and catchway?
- 57:00Speaker 4: No, I'm not.
- 57:01Speaker 6: He's a champ though, too, undefeated and what cham He's
- 57:04Speaker 6: not champ. You don't have belts. Bet he's not even
- 57:10Speaker 6: a number one.
- 57:10Speaker 4: Come on, man, tell me what bell you know boxing.
- 57:14Speaker 3: I'm talking to a chim You forgot, you forgot.
- 57:17Speaker 4: Devin Haney is under undisputed.
- 57:19Speaker 3: They're still trying to get him a fight.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Who undisputed? One thirty five? Devin Haney isn't. I want
- 57:25Speaker 4: to ask you about Devin Hanes.
- 57:26Speaker 7: Devin Haney got all the belts he did chance nobody
- 57:29Speaker 7: else the chat.
- 57:29Speaker 4: But he's a bigger draw.
- 57:31Speaker 7: Devon is the champ, but tanks the bigger draw. Oh yeah,
- 57:34Speaker 7: definitely tank the bigger draw.
- 57:37Speaker 4: So you're not you're not. You're not catching weight weight.
- 57:39Speaker 4: It's weight classes for a reason. Levels level. Tell him,
- 57:42Speaker 4: come on, I'm gonna come up here with the big boys.
- 57:47Speaker 4: I'll welcome. I just got a few more just pure
- 57:50Speaker 4: boxing questions.
- 57:51Speaker 6: This is something that's always frustrated me speaking at Devin
- 57:54Speaker 6: Haney and shot to him great champion, but a lot
- 57:57Speaker 6: of people felt that he lost that last fight, including me.
- 58:01Speaker 6: I don't know, it's no I just think you lost.
- 58:03Speaker 6: But I don't understand how boxing. You know how you
- 58:05Speaker 6: watch the NBA, you know the score.
- 58:07Speaker 4: You know that.
- 58:07Speaker 6: Why can't boxing have each round the judges post this
- 58:12Speaker 6: score so we know where we're at. No, because you
- 58:15Speaker 6: might have you might not. You might think you're winning
- 58:17Speaker 6: and you're losing. You might think you're losing and you're winning.
- 58:20Speaker 6: So in my brain, why don't you just have it
- 58:23Speaker 6: each score each round and now the fans know who's
- 58:27Speaker 6: winning and the boxes know who's winning as well.
- 58:29Speaker 4: They feel about that, that'd be crazy.
- 58:34Speaker 7: Remind me of the amateurs when they was keeping score
- 58:38Speaker 7: and letting us know round by round the score.
- 58:42Speaker 4: But have you do like that idea? Yeah, it's cool.
- 58:46Speaker 3: I don't.
- 58:46Speaker 4: I don't.
- 58:46Speaker 7: I don't care about none of it, you know, to
- 58:49Speaker 7: be exact, cause I know I'm go in there and
- 58:53Speaker 7: do what I gotta do to make sure that I'm
- 58:56Speaker 7: winning decisively.
- 58:57Speaker 4: Not but like I think a lotle bitch, do you
- 59:00Speaker 4: think Lomach won that fight?
- 59:01Speaker 7: It was a good flight, It was a close it
- 59:02Speaker 7: was a close fight. Close, it was a close fight, Lomach.
- 59:08Speaker 5: I'm looking at that, but I'm thinking to myself, I
- 59:10Speaker 5: don't know if score cards mad to him. I feel
- 59:12Speaker 5: like you're going in there to knock somebody out. At
- 59:15Speaker 5: some point during the fight, there's going to be a
- 59:17Speaker 5: point and it's going to be decisive, and it's like
- 59:19Speaker 5: it's go time and there's another level you.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Can It's got to be frustrating and if you lose
- 59:23Speaker 4: a fight that you think you.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Want that I'm just saying for his like watching him.
- 59:27Speaker 4: It's the only sport that that can happen. That can't
- 59:30Speaker 4: happen in basketball. It can't happen in tennis. You just win.
- 59:33Speaker 4: The person who has the most points win.
- 59:35Speaker 6: Boxing is left to a person making a judgment, and
- 59:41Speaker 6: that that could actually be corrupted.
- 59:45Speaker 7: Yeah, it's definitely the bad and it's being bad and
- 59:54Speaker 7: you gotta do something about it. You know, you never
- 59:58Speaker 7: you never seen a bad a bad judgment get or
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: return either. I don't care how many times you watch
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: the fight and the whole world say this guy got robbed.
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: You never see they get overturned. So I think that
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: that's something that needs to be fixed. I think there
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: should be certain qualifications to allow you to be a judge.
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: I think they should go through certain things that the
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: fighters got to go through every every every time they
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: have the opportunity to rest or judge because they play
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: a big impact to these these fights where you know
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: these fighters is fighting their ass off and to get
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: it tooken away from the judges is heartbreaking.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and so well up times my brother.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: One last question, I gotta I got a half of
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: a statement because I want to know if my good
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: brother and our brother, after you looked at you in
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: your face and told you we're gonna lose, did Charlottage
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: reached out to you.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: I'm going there in the more, but get back.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I want I want to see the look in the face.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: My last question is who's your all time top five
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: pound for pound fighters?
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: Gotta be Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Wore, Sugar Ray Leonard,
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: Terrence Crawford.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Gotta be in the five. You got to be of course,
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: he was one of your favorites.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: Easy, little Rose, I say that's your guy, listen.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: I mean that's gonna be the Haney fight that should be.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Then he's gonna be the next pound for pound number one.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: I can see how he's working with you.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: He has that look, you know, he had that look
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: in his eyes after that AINI fight. That was interesting. Yeah.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: Man, he's so talented. Yeah, he's he's on a right path.
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: Got his head clear. I don't see too many people
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: beating him. I see you know him and Devin, him
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: and Tank being a great fight because they all three
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: of them are talented, all three of them. You know,
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: I'm gonna be fighting for supremacy, but I just think
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: boxing ability, his reflexes and this defense is gonna take
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: them to the next level.
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: Ope, my brother, appreciate you. Thank you for making the
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: fight happen and these fights happen. I think that you're
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: bringing the sport back a lot of other people as well.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: But it's important because boxing has always been, you know,
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: one of these sports that doesn't get enough credit. And
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: I'm glad to see real boxes now like being champion.
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: So appreciate it, and yeah, continue to make history.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Appreciate it.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: We will be at the next five front row guard
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: See love is love.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over

- 1:03:48Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Do what's right, leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
