Latest / The Slippery Slope / Queensland Politicians Stance on Abortion
Transcript
- 0:34Hi, I'm Jay Fallon. Thanks for listening to the
- 0:36Slippery Slope. Well, today is the 25th of
- 0:40October 2024. Tomorrow Queensland votes OK.
- 0:45We're looking at most likely the end of the Labor Party who have
- 0:51ruled, ruled the roost for I think it's been 9 years now and
- 0:57it's probably most likely that the LNP will come into power.
- 1:01However, there's a couple of things.
- 1:03There's one big issue that's that's come about and I got to
- 1:07say I'm extremely disappointed with the way this is gone.
- 1:10Extremely disappointed, Disgusted in the stance that a
- 1:14couple of people have taken, all the lack of a stance, the lack
- 1:17of a backbone that people have taken.
- 1:19Some of these MPs have taken all because they want power.
- 1:24They are more concerned with the votes and more concerned with
- 1:29losing rather than standing for righteousness, rather than
- 1:34standing for any or having any kind of moral, ethical backbone.
- 1:42We've got MPs, we've got people who want to be MPs, who they,
- 1:47they are just standing for nothing.
- 1:50Therefore they will fall for anything.
- 1:53You cannot trust people like this who will just go on the
- 1:58winds of whatever the public opinion may or may not be.
- 2:02They get a little bit of pressure coming about a little
- 2:04bit of questioning from someone. They think, oh, well, this
- 2:06isn't, maybe this isn't the popular view, but you know, so
- 2:11we'll, we'll change your mind depending on what the popular
- 2:15view is at the moment. So I'm talking about the
- 2:17abortion issue, just to be upfront.
- 2:21So, you know, I am against abortion.
- 2:24Don't agree with it at all. As a Christian, I think I don't
- 2:31understand how other Christians, people actually call themselves
- 2:35Christians. I don't understand how you can
- 2:39support abortion. I, I don't, I don't understand
- 2:44it at all. I I've heard the arguments
- 2:46people use these sophist arguments, they twist everything
- 2:51around instead of just, you know, the black and white, hey,
- 2:56it kind of for me, it begins and ends in thou shalt not murder.
- 3:01It's fairly, fairly blatant, fairly basic thou shalt not
- 3:06murder. Thus I shouldn't kill the child
- 3:11that's growing inside. It's it's that that easy.
- 3:16So I really don't understand a Christian who can support
- 3:19abortion or make excuses for it. I understand people have done
- 3:23it. I'm not saying they should be
- 3:25condemned. People, if you're a Christian
- 3:27and you've had an abortion, you know, and you've asked God to
- 3:30forgive you. Oh, OK, I get that it's sin is
- 3:33sin. All have sinned and fallen short
- 3:36of the glory of God. But I don't get it.
- 3:39I don't get how someone can call themselves a Christian, but they
- 3:42agree, they agree with abortion, they think it's perfectly
- 3:46acceptable. I'm sorry, that ruffles a few
- 3:50feathers. But I that's, you know, OK, so
- 3:57let's get on with this. So what's happened?
- 4:00Abortion has apparently become a bit of an issue, bit of a hot
- 4:04button topic. And unfortunately we have MPs,
- 4:08people who want to be MPs, who I think I said just before, it
- 4:15looks like they're just standing for nothing in the end.
- 4:18They're so busy, they're so concerned with gaining power, so
- 4:22concerned with their own career that they flip flop on issues,
- 4:26stand for nothing in the end, they will fall for anything.
- 4:31It's absolutely disgusting. But let's go through a couple of
- 4:34these articles. OK, So what's happened here?
- 4:37Queensland election campaign Premier Stephen Malz demands all
- 4:40MPs candidates reveal abortion stance stance.
- 4:45Now he's, he's done this because he is trying to shape the
- 4:49narrative. That's wow, look at these
- 4:51people, how disgusting of them. How can they not agree with
- 4:55abortion? How can they want to roll back,
- 4:58roll back the legislation that we have the rights of women over
- 5:02their own bodies. Let's all forget, let's ignore
- 5:06the rights of the baby that's growing, you know, the separate
- 5:10DNA, the separate heartbeat, the separate body brain that's
- 5:15growing inside of the woman. Let's forget that.
- 5:19And let's just say a woman's right.
- 5:21That's all it is. How disgusting of these MPs to
- 5:25not want to stand up for a woman's rights.
- 5:27That's that's the narrative that he's going with.
- 5:30He is if you're a Christian, you know, you word of God, you know
- 5:33when it says Isaiah in Isaiah 5 verse 20, I'll bring it up.
- 5:39Actually, I had it there here. Those are those who call evil
- 5:41good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for
- 5:45darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
- 5:47He's just trying to make this excuse.
- 5:49Hey, how disgusting. How can they not agree with what
- 5:52we're doing here? So Labour's launched a major
- 5:55crusade. It comes as pro life LNP
- 5:58candidate Freya Ostapovich, who declared she wanted abortion
- 6:02laws changed, is committed to the party's promise not to amend
- 6:06the rules Opposition Leader David Chris Foley has declared.
- 6:10So it would seem because I'm going to, I'm going to play this
- 6:13audio later on and I'll put it up separately.
- 6:15But she says in this audio, I think it was a bit of an ambush
- 6:18that she doesn't like, she doesn't agree with abortion, she
- 6:21doesn't like this. You know how children who were
- 6:23born alive after undergoing an attempted abortion, they are
- 6:28then now in here in QLD, they're allowed to die on the operating
- 6:33table. Absolutely disgusting.
- 6:35She wants that pulled back. That's what she said, rollback.
- 6:38But now it looks like she might have changed her mind.
- 6:39Standing for nothing, She'll fall for anything you can't
- 6:42trust goes on. While a different LMP leader,
- 6:46Marty Hunt in Nicklin is refusing to reveal if his views
- 6:50on abortion had changed after once being described by a pro
- 6:54life lobby group as one of their best advocates.
- 6:57I would say Marty Hunt in Nicklin, if you don't agree with
- 7:00abortion, stand up and say you don't agree with it.
- 7:04Actually stand for something. Stand up and put it all on the
- 7:09line. Don't be gutless, keep going.
- 7:14Abortion flared up as an election issue last week after
- 7:18Ellen PMPS including Tony Parrott and John Rouse.
- 7:22That's from Gimpy and Scenic. Women in recent weeks voiced
- 7:26anti abortion views and candidate forums.
- 7:29Good on them. Mr Chris Foley has since been
- 7:32asked more than 130 questions on the abortion, including if he
- 7:35will break with convention and deny his party room a conscience
- 7:39vote on matters of life. He has repeatedly asserted there
- 7:43will be no change to Queensland laws.
- 7:45Go on to another article here. This is what's happened with
- 7:48Robbie Casser. OK, he's had a backflip
- 7:52abortion. Casser dumps threat to change
- 7:55law, it says. OK, so the Cassers Australian
- 7:59Party has shelled its bow to force a vote on repealing
- 8:03abortion laws, a stunning about face that will reshape the dying
- 8:07days of the election race. In the latest twist of a saga
- 8:10that's dominated the campaign, party leader Robbie Katter
- 8:15softened his threats. Softened.
- 8:17Well, great, great way to have a backbone there, Katter.
- 8:21I thought you had more. I thought you were from the
- 8:23Bush. I thought you actually stood up
- 8:24for something. Coward softened his threat to
- 8:28repeal the 2018 discrimination decriminalisation, sorry of
- 8:33abortion. In the next term of parliament.
- 8:35He would instead focus on reintroducing a bill scutsled by
- 8:40the government this year that Wood Forest clinicians to care
- 8:44for babies. Imagine wait to care for babies
- 8:47born alive as a result of a failed termination of pregnancy.
- 8:54Could you imagine this? I can't even fathom this,
- 9:00thinking this way of thought. You need to introduce a bill,
- 9:06You need to make it law to force clinicians to care for a baby
- 9:13that's still alive, that's laying there heart beating,
- 9:17breathing air, and you have to make it law for that doctor to
- 9:23care for the baby and not just allow it to die.
- 9:30Where are we in the world where you have to make it law that a
- 9:34doctor would have to do, would has to be forced to do it?
- 9:39How evil are we as a nation, as a state?
- 9:47QLD blows me away. How evil are we?
- 9:57So all Steven Marles is doing here the narrative that he is
- 10:01going with, If you're a Christian, you'll know this
- 10:03first. The narrative that he is going
- 10:05with is Isaiah chapter 5, verse 20.
- 10:09Woes are those who call evil good and good evil, who put
- 10:12lightness for dark and light for darkness, who put bitter for
- 10:14sweet and sweet or bitter. He is saying the narrative that
- 10:17he has decided to go with is that, hey, we've all voted for
- 10:21this. We've all, we've all accepted
- 10:24that terminating the life of an unborn child is perfectly
- 10:29acceptable in this modern society.
- 10:32Therefore, you must all agree, If you don't agree that this
- 10:37thing that was once considered to be heinous and absolutely
- 10:41evil, if you don't agree with this evil, well then you are
- 10:45evil because we all think that it's now good.
- 10:50What was once looked at as being evil is now good.
- 10:54That's what he's saying. And for me, it all ends.
- 10:59It all it begins. I don't want to hear this, you
- 11:02know, these arguments. Actually, I do want to hear it.
- 11:04If you're a Christian and you support abortion, tell me
- 11:07exactly why, how you justify it in your mind.
- 11:11I really have to know because I've heard all the, I think I've
- 11:15heard all of the arguments, the twisting of Scripture, the
- 11:20sophist arguments about it. You know, the wannabe
- 11:23philosophers. For me, it begins and ends with
- 11:27the 10 commandments. You know, in, in that little
- 11:30verse, you know, there's a couple of there's a couple of
- 11:33lines. What does it say?
- 11:364-4 words. If you're looking at the new
- 11:38King James Version, you shall not murder.
- 11:42It kind of begins and ends there.
- 11:44People can twist scripture around and say whatever they
- 11:47want, say whatever they want about the, you know, calling,
- 11:51you know, we, we change the name of the instead of calling it a
- 11:54baby, we call it a foetus. Instead of calling it murder,
- 11:58we, we call it abortion. You know, we, we convince
- 12:04ourselves that it's a woman's right to choose about her own
- 12:07body, completely overlooking the fact that it's separate DNA,
- 12:12separate heartbeat, separate brain, different blood types.
- 12:18It's a separate body growing inside of a female inside of a
- 12:23woman. So we we don't even consider all
- 12:26that. We just say no, no, it's a
- 12:27woman's right to choose and forget about the unborn child.
- 12:32So this is what this is what Steven Miles has done.
- 12:38The evil Steven Miles. I think he is twisting it.
- 12:40He is shaping the narrative that hey, look at these, look at
- 12:43these disgusting people. How can they possibly not agree
- 12:47that we can just terminate, we can end the life of an unborn
- 12:51child if that's what we want to do.
- 12:54If it is, you know, if it doesn't fit our lifestyle, how
- 12:59we want to do things, what we want to do.
- 13:01If it doesn't fit where our vision, if it doesn't fit the
- 13:04vision board that we have up on the fridge of what we want to do
- 13:07with our life in the next 5 years and you know, a baby
- 13:11wasn't on their vision board, well then we can just murder it.
- 13:14It's all good. We can go to the clinician and
- 13:16say, hey, 22 weeks, can you get that sucker?
- 13:20Just suck it out of me. It's it's disgusting.
- 13:25You haven't realised I'm not pro, pro abortion.
- 13:29Here you go. This headline here.
- 13:31Bombshell Chris Foley finally reveals his position.
- 13:35So Miles is questioning the sceptical timing after being
- 13:40asked about his stance on abortion more than 130 times.
- 13:44Don't believe they actually keep telling of that over the course
- 13:46of the campaign. Chris Fully last night revealed
- 13:49he supported a woman's right to choose.
- 13:51A woman's right to choose? What's a gutless answer?
- 13:54Chris Fully? Like I said, you stand for
- 13:57nothing. You'll fall for anything if
- 13:58that's all you want to do is gain power.
- 14:03So Chris Fully revealed he supported a woman's right to
- 14:05choose, with both leaders seeking to convince the room of
- 14:09100 undecided voters why their team would make a better
- 14:12government for Queensland. But the Premier remains
- 14:15unconvinced, saying it was an extraordinary answer that comes
- 14:2072 hours prior to Election Day. I can't think of a single time
- 14:25that a candidate, let alone a leader, three days before an
- 14:28election. This is what Miles is saying
- 14:30changes such a fundamental belief.
- 14:34See the way he's shaping the narrative.
- 14:35As if, as if. If you don't believe in
- 14:38abortion, if you don't believe in a woman's right to choose,
- 14:41let's call it for what it is, If you don't believe in a woman's
- 14:45right to choose to end the life of her unborn child, well, then
- 14:49you are a bad person. That's what he's saying.
- 14:52That's the narrative that he is shaping, goes on to say.
- 14:55What other beliefs would he change because an audition?
- 14:59Because an audience laughed at him, the Premier refused to
- 15:04provide a straight answer over whether he believed Mr Chris
- 15:06Fully's statement. It's up to him really to explain
- 15:09his position and his words to Queensland.
- 15:12So here in Queensland, we can, you can abort a child and this
- 15:17is the same across the board in Australia, I believe up to 22
- 15:22weeks, 22 weeks, you can murder an unborn child, you can end the
- 15:28life of an unborn child. 22 weeks after that you have to get
- 15:32a doctor to consult with another doctor.
- 15:34You have to give the reasons basically and they will consult
- 15:37with each other and decide whether it's good enough,
- 15:40whatever you can. After 22 weeks.
- 15:48What are those who call evil good and good evil?
- 15:55Exodus chapter 2010 commandments, verse 13.
- 15:59You shall not murder. It's not that hard.
- 16:01It's not that hard, people. It's not that hard to
- 16:03understand. But let's look at something
- 16:06else, OK? Remembering this, you can end
- 16:12the life of your unborn child up to 22 weeks.
- 16:16Not even have to consider, not even have to consult with the
- 16:19second doctor. Just go in.
- 16:21That's your right apparently here in QLD.
- 16:26Let's have a look at let's have a look at this.
- 16:28This might be a little hard to stomach for some people, but
- 16:33check this out. Mother shares powerful photos of
- 16:36a baby miscarried at 20 weeks saying he was not clump of
- 16:40cells. This was October 6th, 2017.
- 16:44Can you see that picture there? That was a baby born 20 weeks.
- 16:51So this actually will happen. In 2014, Danika Peters and her
- 16:54husband learned they were expecting their first child.
- 16:55The couple was surprised and lighted.
- 16:58I'll skip down. The joy of the pregnancy was
- 17:00quickly overshadowed with concern when the couple went for
- 17:0320 weeks. So this is 20 weeks, 20 week
- 17:06ultrasound. Peters was told she had already
- 17:09begun labour and her cervix had already dilated.
- 17:13Sadly, there was nothing doctors could do to stop her baby Harley
- 17:17from being born. So she shares the photos.
- 17:22So there's there was nothing that she that she could do.
- 17:26I'll bring up the full article here it is at 20 weeks.
- 17:34So it's talking about this, OK. And she, they've sent, they've
- 17:37put photos of her, of the, the baby born.
- 17:40So on Saturday, March 28th, Peters delivered Harley, who
- 17:43lived for two hours and 20 minutes outside, 2 hours and 20
- 17:46minutes. This is the baby who was born at
- 17:4820 weeks, roughly 20 weeks. OK, so 2 hours and 20 minutes.
- 17:52The baby lived outside of the womb before he passed away.
- 17:56Peters described seeing his perfectly formed face and body.
- 18:01And she treasures the moments her family had with him.
- 18:03He was so perfect in every way. Looked just like his daddy.
- 18:07Every part of him perfectly developed.
- 18:09He lived for two hours and 20 minutes.
- 18:16Wow. This is hard to look at.
- 18:20It's hard to read. Holly Bourne, 20 weeks old.
- 18:32Wow, can you see that If you're looking at this on video?
- 18:34If you if you're not watching this on video, you need to look
- 18:36at this. This is a picture of Harley.
- 18:41Only 20 weeks in the womb, born anyway, only live for two hours.
- 18:48At 20 weeks, preborn children in the womb are fully developed and
- 18:52feel pain. At this stage, babies are active
- 18:55in the womb and they can stretch, kick and suck their
- 18:57thumbs. However, the most prevalent
- 18:59abortion procedure used at this stage is the dilation and
- 19:05evacuation procedure, during which the abortionist dismembers
- 19:11preborn child limb from torso. Former abortionist Doctor
- 19:15Anthony Libertino describes the DNA abortion procedure below.
- 19:20I'm not, I'm not even going through there.
- 19:24Wow. So that was a child. 20 weeks,
- 19:2720 weeks. Look at there you go.
- 19:33I think it's, it's just disgusting, just disgusting that
- 19:36we justify this. We live in a society where we
- 19:40not just justify it. Their politicians shake the
- 19:43narrative as if, as if if you don't support abortion, well
- 19:47then you're the problem. You're an evil person.
- 19:50How antiquated of you that you could not support a woman's
- 19:54right to end the life of a child.
- 19:57Our politicians can't stand up. They are too busy worrying about
- 20:02their own fight for power. Like I said, they stand for
- 20:07nothing and they will fall for anything.
- 20:12It's absolutely disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
- 20:15Look, I don't. I don't agree with LMP, sorry
- 20:20the Labour government at all, but this stands by or lack of
- 20:24the stands by the LMP. Just Phil, you just, you disgust
- 20:28me. That's all I can say.
- 20:34Let me know what you think. I'm Jay Fallon.
- 20:37Sorry for crying. I'm Jay Fallon.
- 20:40Thanks for listening to the Slippery Slope.
- 20:44And Satan isn't
