another job again. Anyway. The other reason I am recording this episode so

soon after the first one is that I got really into it. This is

only the second time that I'm watching Tokio Revengers, so I like don't remember

the beginning very well. I also noticed that I must have started reading the

manga after like the first season, like I must have picked it up after

the first season, because I don't remember it at all. Like I started

reading the manga and I'm reading it alongside the anime now so that I know

what's going on and I know what changes are because there were just a couple

of things that I thought in this episode that were pretty poor jokes, and

I was like, huh, I wonder if they're in the manga, and

they're not. But we'll talk about that later. But anyway, I was

engaged enough that I decided to keep going. And then also, I'm ready

So this episode, episode two is called Resist, So that's a fine title

for an episode. It's nothing really special, but it is also the name

end of last episode, Takamichi had come back from the past. He went

back to the future and he saw nowto and found out that now too is

alive because he told him to be careful. And that's kind of where we

are now. So when the episode starts, it's just a recap, like

we just recapped the last episode. So I just kind of recapped what happened

at the end of the last episode, so we're not going to go through

this. I didn't write notes. I was just like, fuck that.

I know that this is padding, it's not important. When we actually start

the new part of the episode, Takamichi is sitting in what I believe is

an office. It kind of looks like an office, and there's like this

whiteboard in the office that has like all sorts of pictures on it and like

writing and stuff, and it looks like a crazy person might have been working

on a case maybe, or a non crazy person, but it looks like

it's someone trying to connect the dots. And Naoto is also there, but

I didn't notice him until he starts talking and he says, time travel,

I've observed something about your power. You jumped from July fourth, twenty seventeen

to the same date twelve years ago. I believe that's your power, and

Takamichi just kind of stares at him in awe, really, dude, And

then we go to the opening. Yay, so I should point out that

we already know this that he went back exactly twelve years. I'm not sure

Takimichi is sitting at what I believe is Nauto's computer and he's like clicking

on stuff with the mouse. Let me see if I can make the mouse

sound can you hear it? And so he's doing that, and Naloto is

standing behind him, like looking over his shoulder and he's like, there,

that's important. So like Takamichi's like uh, and he clicks on it,

and Nalto's like, also, did you actually read that part? And Takimichi's

like, oh right, and then Nalto's like and then the next part.

And Takimichi is at this point having a hard time staying awake. His eyes

keep kind of closing and his head's starting to droop, and then Naoto like

pulls up his head, like puts his hand on his head and pulls it

back up, and he tells him that he's already passed the point in the

article that he was supposed to be looking at, and then he's like,

yeah, over there, you gotta remember that part too, And then we

see a shot of like a bunch of energy drinks and stuff, and we

have a Takamichi narration that says, for two days, I've been locked in

Nwoto's apartment, I haven't slept a wink, and then he yawns, sorry,

I can't say yawn without yawning. Oh God, and Naloto clears his

throat and he jumps, and Naloto's like, you need to pack as much

information about the Tokyomanji Gang into your head as possible, and Takamichi is thinking

Nwoto's insane. He's trying to kill me. And he sighs and kind of

like falls back in his seat and thinks. Five days ago, on July

first, Tachibana Hinata was involved in a dispute among the members of the Tokyomanji

Gang and died during a festival in the building. A truck drove in,

aiming for some of the stalls, and she was one of the victims.

She was twenty six. We know, I can't even express how many I

and you have said that she's twenty six. Analto says, in that report,

you'll find some of what the Tokyo Manji gang's been up to that hasn't

been reported on. Takamichi is now like looking at an image on the computer

screen and it's partially obscured, but it is a guy lying on the ground,

definitely dead because he's like covered in blood and stuff. Yay Nwatol continues,

that's information that my predecessor risked his life gathering. And Takamichi gasps and

Nalto's like that last photo is actually him. Oh, Takamichi's like what Analto

says. He was investigating undercover when he was discovered and killed. Takamichi gasps.

Analto says, in one of his eye sockets, they found a media

device that fully recorded his murder in place of his gouged out eyeball oh.

I kept requesting transfers until I finally got assigned to his position six months ago.

His death is under wraps because they don't want to cause panic, though

that's only part of the reason the Tokyomanji gang was already under Kisaki Teta's control

before it happened, and Takimichi thinks, Nalto's trying to fill my brain with

all this info about the gang. Penny sighs and then out loud says,

but is all this necessary to save Tachibana. Nalto says, if there's one

problem with your power is that you can only go back to this date twelve

years ago, and Takimichi says, but that's just your observation, and we

have like a little flashback of when he was like hitting Nalto's bullies and stuff.

Anyway, Takimichi says, you're apparently alive right now, so what happened

must be real, But I don't even know how to go back, and

Nalto cuts him off and is like, if we could go back to the

day my sister died and keep her from going to the festival, it might

be possible to save her. But since we can't go back to that exact

date, we want to do everything we can right now. You need to

go back in time immediately to when you were in middle school twelve years ago

and meet a certain someone. Takimichi asks, who Nalto puts his hand on

the whiteboard next to two pictures, and he says, to man has two

leaders. Sano Mantro, who we see in the picture as a blonde like

slightly longer blonde haired guy wearing all black, and he says, and Kisaki

Teta, who in the picture is this really evil looking, smiling guy with

like short blonde hair and glasses. And Takamichi's like yikes. Annanto says,

Sano and Kisaki, if these two had never met, the current Tokyo Manji

gang would never existed, which means that my sister wouldn't have died either.

Takimichi says, I get it if I go back and stop these two from

meeting, I mean, I get it, But how am I supposed to

get to the past again? Good question. Annalto says, you said you

came back when you shook my hand. Takimchi's like, well yeah, and

there's a little flashback of them shaking hands. A Nalto says that might be

the trigger. Takimichi is like looking at his hands and he's like hand shake,

huh. And Nalto says, you've saved me back then, and because

of that, I may have become part of your powers. Okay, what

that doesn't make any sense? And so Takamichi gasps and thinks, I see.

I thought he was a little crazy, but he actually believes I can

time travel. That's why he's so serious. He could still be crazy Takomichi.

And Nalta asks Takamichi, are you ready? And Takimichi thinks, I

want to save Tachibana too, and he's like yeah, and he thinks just

as much as Nalto. Sure, dude, Nalto says Sano and Kisaki met

in August twelve years ago. Find one of them and stay by their side

and stop them from meeting. And Takimichi looks kind of stressed, and he's

like, yeah, I'll give it a shot. How do you stop people

for meeting? Like? Ever that, how does that work? Like assuming

that they're both in the same city, and since I guess they're gonna meet,

like maybe they hang up the same places or they go to the same

school, Like, how do you stop them from ever meeting? Like you

could probably stop them from meeting on one day, but you couldn't just stop

them for all time from meeting that sounds like a really bad plan Nwato,

so Naoto raises his hand towards Takimichi and he says, you're the only one

who can save my sister. Takimichi stares at his hand and then looks at

him with like resolve, and they shake, and things kind of glitch out

and then off like an old TV set, and then a thirteen year old

Takimichi slowly opens his eyes and then they snap open, and some kid is

in front of him with his fist raised, and the kid is like,

let's do this, and Takimichi is standing with his fist raise too, and

there's a crowd of teens around them. Takimichi's like, where did not alto

go? And he looks around and there's like a lot of people watching and

looks like maybe they're on like a school field or something. And there's these

things like almost like bleachers like steps that everyone is sitting on that go up,

but they're made a stone or something. It's like a stadium type area.

And some guy in the audience is like, quit messing around, you

dump shit, and some other guys like hurry up and fight, and a

third guy's like kill him, really, dude, and Takamichi's like, uh

wait, and lots of people are like getting annoyed at like the lack of

action, and they're like saying things. And then some guy's like, kana

gokhi, you little shit. I've got a thousand yen writing on you,

which is six dollars and sixty four cents, by the way, so that's

not very much. And Takamichi is freaking out kind of comically, which kind

of doesn't work here, and I actually went to check the manga to see

if it was like that, and it is, so it's not their fault

that this doesn't work, and so he's like, what what the hell's going

on? Hang on for a second, and he looks at his phone and

he realizes that it's twelve years ago and he's like, no, toll was

right. I don't know how he could have been right, but okay.

So the other guy like starts charging him and Takimichi's like wait, and the

guy just punches him in the face, and then we go to a black

screen and then Takimichi thinks I really did go back in time again, and

he wakes up on the ground and some guy from the gang is like,

hey, Hanagaki's awake, and Takimichi thinks, did I pass out? And

that crazy guy from before is like, don't go down after just one punch,

your dumb ass. We're all betting money here, and another guy is

like, talk about a lay mass match, and Takamichi thinks match and one

of the guys is like, right, Yomasa. And then we see this

guy who's like counting money and he's smoking cigarettes, and Takimichi sits up and

I guess like kind of looks over at the money counting guy and he thinks

that scar on his brow. He's the top delinquent of Shibbu a third middle

school. Okay, so it's the guy we saw in the last episode who

kind of led the other gang, who is Kiyomizu Masataka. So it seems

like people like the other guy called him kio Masa, so it seems like
13:15
they combine his first and last name, which is really strange, but hey,

whatever works for them. So kio Masa puts away the money and he's
13:24
like, if people stop coming to these fight club matches to bet, there's

no point. Takamichi thinks fight club. Oh right, people were betting on
13:33
that fight. Now, I remember these guys were in charge of that and

kill Masa's like, for now, teach that piece of trashal lesson. And

then we cut to one of the guys just stomping on Takamichi as he tries

to protect himself. So he's like kind of on the ground, like he's
13:50
on his stomach with like his legs tucked in under him and his hands protecting
13:56
his head, kind of sort of fetal position. So the guy's stomping on

him, and he's like, hey, quit making a turtle, and he

continues to stomp on him, and he's like, get up, damn it.

So I could teach you a proper lesson, sure, And Takomichi looks

terrified because I don't know why he would not, and he thinks that's right

on their sleeve, and he winces I did whatever they told me to,

and that crazy guy is like, what's up with this stupid turtle? And

the other guy walks up and is like, leave somewhere for me to punch

Red. Okay, the crazy guy's name is Red. Finally, and they

continue to beat up Takamichi while the boss looks at his phone, totally uninterested

in what's happening, and eventually we cut too black. This guy's like kind

of red or everything is kind of red. So I guess it's sunset now,

and Takamichi is sprawled out on the ground and he thinks being forced to
14:56
fight guys we didn't even know, and if we lose, we get our

asses kicked even more. He is passed out here, so I guess this

is narration anyway. His narration continues day after fucking day. It was hell

on earth and that's why I ran away. And he's like slowly getting up

and wincing in pain as he does, and he thinks I abandoned my friends,

even Tachibana, and then out loud, he says, Tachibana, that

crazy guy whose name's Red, is like, do better next time you suck

today, and they all laugh and then they start walking off and they're talking

about getting rahmed and stuff like that, and Takamichi stands and he's like m

and Red turns and it's like, wow, you're persistent. You're actually conscious,

and Takimichi's like, so you guys belong to the Tokyomanji gang. Right,

I'd like to meet up with one of their leaders, either Sano or
15:50
Kisaki. Hey, really, Takamichi, you know that Sano and Kisaki haven't

even met yet, so why would they both be the leaders? Only one

of them is going to be the leader, I would think whatever. They

stare at him in astonishment, maybe because he doesn't know what he's talking about,

or maybe because you're not supposed to ask that, and he continues,

I was wondering if that'd be possible somehow, and there's kind of silence and

he's like, oh, if not, I understand, and that boss guy,

Kiyomasa, he kind of snarls and turns around and he's like, bring

me my bat. Oh I hope he's just going to unwind by playing baseball.

Yeah, So then we cut to Takumichi on the ground with Kyomasa very

casually beating him with a bat, and he's in that same position, so
16:47
only his back and kind of unprotected areas are getting hit, like his stomach
16:49
and his face aren't getting hit, which is probably good. And he is
16:52
just methodically beating the shit out of him, and at one point he like
16:57
manages to kick his arm off his head for a second and Takamichi yelps in

pain. It's not very pleasant to watch if you don't like watching main characters

get beat up. Maybe I do, but that's another story entirely. Also,

during this scene, to kind of bring home how serious this is,

there's no music. There is just the sound of Takamichi crying in pain as

the bat makes contact and the bat itself making contact and he looks totally terrified

and come on, I would be too, And he starts to say that

he's sorry, and he stops and he thinks about all the times he's apologized

to bosses, and I guess just bosses over and over again, and he

clenches his teeth and continues to just take the beating. If I was him,

I would probably try to run away, but he doesn't for some reason.

And you know, the rest of the gang are watching this, and

one of the guys is like, hey, maybe we should stop him soon,

and another guy's like yeah, and they walk towards him, and one

of the guys is like, Kio Masa, dude, stop, you're gonna

kill him. And then we fade out to black, which we've been doing

a lot this episode and now it's night. Takamichi is on the ground,

passed out on his stomach, kind of just covered in blood, just really
18:21
really cut up and a foot that we can't see. The owner of flips

him onto his back and the guy's like, wake the fuck up, Hanagaki.

Takamichi manages to sit up, but is clearly in a lot of pain

doing so, and then we realize that it is Kiyomasa, the boss,

and he is like right next to Takomichi's face and he says, next time

SnO Kun's name comes out of your mouth, you get it right, I'll

kill you, and Takamichi like think screams. He's scary as hell. Oh

this was the part where it was so comedic that I was like, let

me check the manga, and it's not as bad in the manga, but

it's still not a reaction I would think someone would have when they are beat

the fuck up where it's kind of comedic. I thought that that was not

a great choice, but hey whatever. So anyway, Takamichi is still thinking

and he's like, what the hell is his deal? That wasn't even a

conversation. This is impossible. How am I supposed to meet them. He

said he'd kill me if I ever said that name again, I really will

die, which we already yeah, we just heard that, and then he

thinks, is this guy seriously in middle school? I don't know, dude,

Maybe he's been held back for like ten years or something, because he

looks like an adult. Anyway, the gang walks off, leaving Takamichi alone,

and he starts to cry, and then he manages to get to his

feet and run somehow away, and then we cut to him kind of like

limp running down a street in Shibia, I assume, and he almost falls

over like he's having a real hard time, and he thinks make contact with

the head of the Tokyo Manji gang a slave like me, and then out

loud says, I can't I can't do this, Nuto, And then we

cut to him walking slowly and still limping on an overpass with his head down

and like people are passing and they look super concerned for his well being,

and he thinks, I forgot, I'd completely forgotten. Just me, even

in my second life, a failure's still gonna be a failure. This is

very true. He's learned a very valuable lesson anyway, He's like, I

should just go home to the future. Yes, you should go back to

the future. And then he stops walking and he thinks, how do I

get back though? That's right, and he remembers a handshake and he's like,

if I go see Nalto and then he starts walking again. Really just

got beat up one time, dude, I mean terribly, but still so.

Then we cut to Takimichi ringing the doorbell of the Tachibana residence and it's

quiet, like he pauses and he's not hearing anybody come to the door or

anything, and he's like, are they not home? And then he thinks,

as long as I shake hands with Naoto, I can return to the

future. But then he thinks about Naoto saying that he's the only one who

can save he Nata, and he's like, am I running away again?

And at that point he not that walks up like I guess she's just getting

home from somewhere, and she's like Anagaki and Takimiji jumps and he's like,

Tachibano, why are you here? And she's like why this is my house?

And then he's like, oh, right, and hen gets like really

close to him, and she's like, did you get into a fight again.

Takimichi says sorry, and he not, just like you look more beat

up than usual. Are you okay? And Takamichi's like, oh yeah,

I'm totally fine, and he like makes a thumbs up and he not the

sighe She's like, why do boys insist on fighting so much? If only

I were a boy too, And Takamichi's like what and he not the smiles

and she's like, if I was, i'd go and she makes like a

punching motion and she goes, take that and protect you. I know,

karate, So if I was a guy, I'd be super strong, and

Takamichi also makes a punching motion and is like, in that case, I'll

protect you too, Hina, and then he pauses and then they both blush,

and Takimichi thinks I just called her Hina and he is like okay,

and Takamichi's like I was just going with the flow, and he is like

I want you to call me that, and Takimichi smiles, and Nina says,

but I'm gonna be the one who protects you, huh. Takimichi like

what, Andhena says, well, you're such a cry baby. If I

were a guy, i'd definitely be stronger than you. Takamichi's like, hey,

that's not fair. I only cried that one other day. So Hina

just kind of chuckles and it's like, are you sure, And Takamichi's like,

just forget about it already, and she's like no, never gonna forget

about it, and they both laugh. They actually seem like they have a

pretty good rapport, like they'd be good in a relationship. So yeah,

but anyway, Hina says bye bye and goes inside and tells her mom that

she's home. It sounds like and Takamichi starts to walk away and then stops

and looks back at the door, and then we cut to him walking.

He stops and looks back up at the apartment building and he sees that Heina

is on the balcony looking down on him, and she blushes and waves,

and he looks like he's going to cry. And now he's walking down the

street and he thinks, twelve years from now, Hina and I won't be

dating. We hadn't even seen each other in years, and he like stops

in the middle of a crosswalk and he's like, I'm not obligated to save

Hena and he thinks about how she said that she was gonna protect him,

and he's like, but she's and he starts to cry and then out loud

says she's not supposed to die. Well, I guess she is supposed to

die. You would be fucking with the timeline if she is saved. But

that's fine, dude. Now we go to the next day at school maybe,

and Takamichi's in the hallway and Takiya walks up to him and is like,

how'd you lose to a guy like that that wasn't like you at all?

And Takamichi's like, huh oh, oh, you mean the guy from

yesterday? My bad. And they're like walking down the hall and then they

see his other three friends standing there and Akun like has a bruise on his

face and stuff. It makes me really sad, and Akun's like, you

got a minute. So they go into the men's bathroom and Yamihihi is peeing,

but the other ones are They're just gonna talk, and Akun's like,

they're gonna do their little fight club again today. Amakoto says, it's been

every day lately. A Akun's like, today's fighter is gonna be Takuya,

and they're all like what, and Takumichi thinks, Yamamoto, Takuya has always

been pretty frail, if I remember right, this is the fight where he

almost dies and Yamakis She's like, he can't do this, and Makoto's like
25:30
he's not good at fighting at all. And Akun's like tell that to Kyomasa,

well, I mean, can you. I'd love to take his place

if I could. Okay, so far, I like Akun the best out

of all these characters. Good job, Akun. He's like beat up,

and he he would take the spot for his friend who he's worried about.

And Takimichi thinks Akun actually said he tried to take his place. I know

because we just heard that. And Akun's like, it's not like they ever

listened to what we have to say anyway. He looks very clearly distressed,

and Taki is like, thanks Hakun, because it's like I didn't even do

anything. Takia says Takamichi, and he puts his hand like on his chest

like he like fist bumps his chest and he's like, just watch, I'll

get revenge for you when I win. You better treat me to some gyudhon

which I looked up and it is beef rice bowl yay. But they all

look super worried, not about the beef rice bowls but about him getting hurt,

and Makoto is like, shit, anyway, just keep believing you can

win, and Taki is like yeah, I know, and Yamikisi's like,

do your best, Taku, and he goes to put his hand on his

shoulder and Takia stops him and is like, wash your damn hands. And

then they's like, oh, I almost touched you with dirty hands. That's

not in the manga. I didn't particularly like that anyway. In the hallway,

they're walking except for Takamichi, who is just kind of watching them,

and he thinks I thought they were lame, but they're actually insanely cool.

They're not that cool. Takamichi, I had such amazing friends in middle school,

and Taki is like, okay, let's do this, and Makota's like

yeah, and Yamagizi's like, if you tense up too much, you might

in the monkey either, and then a Kun tells Dakimichi to like hurry up

because he's just standing there, and he catches up with them, and they're

just kind of talking and laughing being normal kids for a couple minutes, and

then we go to the fight yay, and that guy Read is there and

he's like, hello everyone. Today's fighters were listed in the text we sent

out. We have Kyojima from Soccer middle school, and this kid named Kyojima

is like yay, and this guy's like yay, my ass and another guy

says, you better not lose, dipshit, and the third guy's like,
