- 2:22Speaker 2: and what they're talking about, what they're concerned about, what
- 2:26Speaker 2: they're going to be dealing with and addressing here. And
- 2:29Speaker 2: there's a lot of contentious stuff going on. But man,
- 2:33Speaker 2: I hope that you participate. I hope that you can
- 2:36Speaker 2: take a deep breath on it. Today town meeting day

- 3:16Speaker 2: rain is gonna come in, and it's gonna be steady
- 3:21Speaker 2: throughout the day, and the tempts are gonna be going up.
- 3:24Speaker 2: The FOG's gonna kick in the rain's gonna get heavy
- 3:27Speaker 2: at times, and then tomorrow night it is gonna continue
- 3:31Speaker 2: and they're saying do expect some flooding. So we're keeping
- 3:36Speaker 2: an eye on what's happening with the National Weather Service. Hey,
- 3:40Speaker 2: I am so excited to bring Justin Saint Louis on
- 3:42Speaker 2: the air with me. Justin, Good morning, buddy. How the
- 3:44Speaker 2: hell are you, dude, I'm good, I'm so. I was
- 3:50Speaker 2: so thrilled to hear that we've got a motorsports expo
- 3:55Speaker 2: that's coming.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and by last year, for the first year,
- 4:01Speaker 3: I'm at the R.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I missed it. I missed it, man, I totally missed it.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah, well, get on more of the here. It's down
- 4:09Speaker 4: the White River. It'll be well technically in a hard
- 4:13Speaker 4: from the tree the address of the White River production.
- 4:16Speaker 5: But it's going to be at the Connecticut Valley.
- 4:18Speaker 4: On a loption building on Roote fourteen. So yeah, yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 4: if you're if you're in very much. But then I'm
- 4:25Speaker 4: Roote fourteen.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And going, you can all right. This is the twenty eighth,
- 4:30Speaker 2: then twenty ninth. This is the tail end of the month.
- 4:35Speaker 3: On Saturday, Foday evening, I think four to nine of
- 4:38Speaker 3: the hours for the show and then Saturday all day
- 4:41Speaker 3: along all kinds of stuff to see on Saturday.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, what what do we expect?
- 4:47Speaker 4: What?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Please tell me there's going to be dirt bikes there.
- 4:52Speaker 6: I don't know if there's going to be.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I'm sure as a tighters coming there's going to be
- 4:57Speaker 4: something weird brand.
- 5:00Speaker 7: What do you.
- 5:01Speaker 4: People have motorcycles and like Jimmy Hyder's planned, but they
- 5:06Speaker 4: had their bikes well climb all kinds of stuff, cool
- 5:11Speaker 4: looking stuff.
- 5:13Speaker 5: And then there out of Hamshire races you know like
- 5:18Speaker 5: supercross not supercross, don't know, like moto like you know.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Street bikes, rights like undernating among our bikes.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Wow, So that's.
- 5:30Speaker 4: That's that's really cool stuff. But we're gonna boots there
- 5:34Speaker 4: from Speedway in New Hampshire, but also the three tracks
- 5:37Speaker 4: of thunder Road, bear Ridge, Devil's Ball, Airporn Speedway in
- 5:41Speaker 4: New York will be there. Why Mad Motorsports Park see
- 5:45Speaker 4: and the Northeastern Speedway for the kind of our home
- 5:48Speaker 4: we're racing.
- 5:50Speaker 2: So this is your number? What now too? Yeah?
- 5:53Speaker 6: Number two yep, And it's sort of it's something I
- 5:57Speaker 6: thought about doing the two before COVID and just couldn't
- 6:01Speaker 6: put the pieces together.
- 6:02Speaker 4: And then yeah, you know, COVID derail and all that.
- 6:05Speaker 4: But we finally we finally got it together last year
- 6:07Speaker 4: and put it the b o R and it was phenomenal.
- 6:11Speaker 8: And there are some political that happened that I don't
- 6:15Speaker 8: understand fully, but we're not we're not back to the
- 6:18Speaker 8: b o R this year. And yeah, but you know,
- 6:23Speaker 8: we had a massive support from the racing community, not.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Just from from fucking there, but everywhere throughout all of
- 6:30Speaker 4: the wings and uh even up.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Into Canada and over.
- 6:33Speaker 9: New York, with all kinds of people that I hadn't seen,
- 6:37Speaker 9: you know, fifteen twenty thirty years.
- 6:39Speaker 4: It was great to have celebrated sport and get ready
- 6:44Speaker 4: for race.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Where where do we Where do we find you on
- 6:47Speaker 2: the web and on on social media?
- 6:50Speaker 6: Well, we've got a base yea from Motive and we've
- 6:56Speaker 6: also got a website from Motorsports that there's there's a.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Little bit of information right now.
- 7:01Speaker 8: We don't have the full weekend schedule of GET because
- 7:04Speaker 8: that's still getting tweaked together, but it's there as well.
- 7:08Speaker 3: And there's also on that website for the Vermont Bulk
- 7:11Speaker 3: Boards Hall of Fame, which.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Is something new and we're going to be We're going to.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Be announcing our first class of inductees at the FO
- 7:20Speaker 3: on Faturday, twenty ninth, So make sure you get there.
- 7:24Speaker 2: It's going to be a pretty moments.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Casing for for all forms of racing in the month.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Wow, jeez, that's fantastic, man. And if folks want to
- 7:34Speaker 2: get in touch with you, if they want to be
- 7:36Speaker 2: a vendor, if they want to be there in any capacity,
- 7:39Speaker 2: is it is it already to to what's the best
- 7:42Speaker 2: way to get in touch with you?
- 7:43Speaker 4: Well, we're sold out on the face, which is a
- 7:46Speaker 4: good thing.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:47Speaker 8: But yeah, yeah, Well the building is a solid sort
- 7:51Speaker 8: I want to let everybody know.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Unlike last year, there is heat in this building. That's
- 7:57Speaker 4: a big issue last year. Yeah, so you're not going
- 8:00Speaker 4: to be freezing your butt off.
- 8:01Speaker 5: And and this one and twenty five so.
- 8:05Speaker 4: That's a bigger reason why we went down there.
- 8:08Speaker 5: But yeah, like I said, you know, if you want
- 8:10Speaker 5: to get hold of me and ask questions about the
- 8:11Speaker 5: show or or what we did last year.
- 8:14Speaker 9: And previews this year and see Expect Motorsports and our Instagram.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And I'm one of those guys that if you can't
- 8:26Speaker 4: find me on.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So you know enough. Yeah, man, I'm so excited and
- 8:34Speaker 2: so many of our listeners are this morning post and
- 8:37Speaker 2: comments up already, Man, Justin, this is great. This is fantastic.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah great.
- 8:42Speaker 6: And the thing that I'm about for this is this
- 8:48Speaker 6: is kind of the big for the model and that's
- 8:52Speaker 6: something that we put about five work and got a
- 8:56Speaker 6: lot of great people on on.
- 8:57Speaker 5: The organized even have really stepped up and helped this
- 9:01Speaker 5: together and do it right.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And we're we're we're recognizing not just car racing, not
- 9:07Speaker 4: just on the road. It's not just be just doubles.
- 9:10Speaker 4: All that's you know, tractor playing and rally raising and.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Going across some bils and you know, it's because a
- 9:16Speaker 6: lot and I think.
- 9:19Speaker 4: For our first less of inductees is gonna be pretty comprehensive.
- 9:23Speaker 4: And I don't know it's going to be either. We're
- 9:25Speaker 4: still doing.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Really closed to be.
- 9:31Speaker 7: A part of it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Well, thank you for coming on with us, brother, Justin
- 9:34Speaker 2: Saint Louis. Uh the Vermont Motorsports Expo White River Junction
- 9:40Speaker 2: twenty eighth and twenty ninth of this month, and you're
- 9:43Speaker 2: going to be uh seeing a lot more of us
- 9:46Speaker 2: posting up on on our Facebook page. Here links to
- 9:51Speaker 2: the expo, and uh yeah, this is so exciting. It's
- 9:54Speaker 2: so cool to have something like this. We're going to
- 9:57Speaker 2: shift gears right now. We're talking Granite City Blast baseball.
- 10:00Speaker 2: These kids, not these exact ones, but well with the
- 10:04Speaker 2: exception of you, Keegan in the middle, how are you, man?
- 10:08Speaker 2: It's so great to see you and your dad Jordan
- 10:12Speaker 2: right next to you. I'm so happy to see you
- 10:16Speaker 2: guys back in here. And on the very end, we
- 10:19Speaker 2: have another little guy and his name is what now, Kean?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Also Keegan? Wow? All right, so now Keegan on the end,
- 10:32Speaker 2: were you were you here last time in the studio? No,
- 10:35Speaker 2: you weren't. Well, welcome to the podcast. How old are
- 10:38Speaker 2: you buddy? Ten years old? Dad. We have a lot
- 10:46Speaker 2: to get to here. You have some pretty exciting news
- 10:48Speaker 2: to share, please take it away, all right.
- 10:52Speaker 10: Yes, the last time we were here, we were just
- 10:55Speaker 10: starting to kind of undertake this whole thing. We think
- 10:59Speaker 10: could put our initial deposit in to hold our spot
- 11:02Speaker 10: to hopefully make it to Cooper's Town this summer this August,
- 11:05Speaker 10: and had a pretty lofty goal ahead of us for
- 11:09Speaker 10: fundraising and getting money together to make this thing happen.
- 11:13Speaker 10: We were looking at needing to get basically a grand
- 11:18Speaker 10: total of about twenty four thousand dollars to get the
- 11:22Speaker 10: team to Cooper's Town, get the full week, kids in
- 11:26Speaker 10: the dorms, get their meals, all the games. So basically
- 11:29Speaker 10: everything included for this thing to happen for the kids.
- 11:32Speaker 2: That was what we were looking at.
- 11:34Speaker 10: And that final balance was due March first, and happy
- 11:38Speaker 10: to say we put that check in the mail last
- 11:40Speaker 10: week and it was totally fundraised. Everything came from the community,
- 11:46Speaker 10: from the kids work. Awesome, super happy, grateful, incredible.
- 11:53Speaker 2: You know. I got to tell you, yeah, this is amazing.
- 11:56Speaker 2: When you guys told me what the price tag was
- 11:59Speaker 2: on getting to Cooper's Town when I had you on
- 12:03Speaker 2: the air last I was like, oh my god, man,
- 12:06Speaker 2: it was a lot. That's a lot of money for
- 12:09Speaker 2: how many kids on the team.
- 12:10Speaker 10: So we've got thirteen kids and four coaches total. Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 10: so it's a good, good group of us going. And
- 12:18Speaker 10: yeah it's not cheap. So that's all all seventeen of
- 12:21Speaker 10: us to get put up in the dorms for a
- 12:24Speaker 10: week and they feed us, they give us the uniforms,
- 12:27Speaker 10: the equipment, everything for the whole team to make it
- 12:31Speaker 10: there and it's all taken care of and covered now
- 12:34Speaker 10: thanks to hard work from these kiddos and awesome support
- 12:37Speaker 10: from this community.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this money had to be raised in how much time?
- 12:46Speaker 10: Yeah, so we were looking at what five months, maybe
- 12:49Speaker 10: maybe even less. It wasn't a lot of time, and
- 12:53Speaker 10: it was a lot of money. It was a bit
- 12:54Speaker 10: of an undertaking, for sure. It seemed like it was
- 12:58Speaker 10: almost insurmountable when you looked at it from the beginning.
- 13:01Speaker 10: But man, these parents stepped up big time. I mean,
- 13:05Speaker 10: so many of us for these kids to make this
- 13:08Speaker 10: thing happen. They were devoted and committed, and it took
- 13:11Speaker 10: the whole team effort, for sure.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Jake Larvie showed up at my house on an early
- 13:17Speaker 2: Saturday or Sunday morning, I can't remember, but you know,
- 13:21Speaker 2: he looked pretty rough, ja.
- 13:24Speaker 10: Jake took on a lot of the kind of what
- 13:27Speaker 10: we call our chores jobs of the woodstacking, the raft
- 13:30Speaker 10: brieflake laking, leaf raking.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Easy to say, I mean, I think he had a
- 13:35Speaker 2: cup of coffee in his hand, but I mean, you know,
- 13:38Speaker 2: for sure, yeah, but I mean he's just one of
- 13:44Speaker 2: the the parents who have really busted some butt here
- 13:50Speaker 2: and made this happen.
- 13:51Speaker 10: Definitely, there's been there's been a lot of them down
- 13:55Speaker 10: to Christina to share a for really taking on really
- 13:59Speaker 10: a lot of undertaking with running the Facebook, doing a
- 14:02Speaker 10: lot of the coordinating for a lot of these jobs.
- 14:05Speaker 10: Her and Amanda Fortia for the kind of tracking of
- 14:07Speaker 10: the finances. The Layerbees Myers were involved, and so.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Many of them.
- 14:12Speaker 10: The mayor, nos Tyler Bradley, Amanda Gray took on our
- 14:18Speaker 10: Raffle fundraiser that we did, Brooke Berdron for the bingo.
- 14:22Speaker 10: Maybe I could go on and on. I'm sure I'm
- 14:24Speaker 10: leaving people out, but it was you know, all all
- 14:27Speaker 10: thirteen families honestly have contributed and been involved from start
- 14:30Speaker 10: to finish. The Cottons did the cookie dough, and the
- 14:34Speaker 10: Reefs and everybody. I mean, it's been awesome to see
- 14:37Speaker 10: everyone be involved. True team effort for sure.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Let's let's send it all the way down to the
- 14:42Speaker 2: far end of the couch here with little keek in
- 14:46Speaker 2: there on the end. I mean, he's just he's a
- 14:48Speaker 2: little bit little. I mean, he's not that much. But Keken,
- 14:52Speaker 2: you said you're ten years old. Just speaking into that
- 14:56Speaker 2: mic A little bit better, so we closer so we
- 14:58Speaker 2: can hear you. What did you have to do to
- 15:00Speaker 2: raise money? Buddy?
- 15:02Speaker 11: We had to break leaves, stacking wood and it's pretty
- 15:11Speaker 11: much we did like big sales Hot co Coast and yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Now this, uh isn't there?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Uh?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Keegan, isn't there like a silent auction or something that
- 15:23Speaker 2: I was reading about that you guys are gonna do.
- 15:26Speaker 10: We do have some some items for that, some some donations,
- 15:31Speaker 10: donations from different businesses, and we've actually got some signed
- 15:34Speaker 10: memorabilia from the Red Sox, so we're trying to figure
- 15:37Speaker 10: out yeah, player photo that we got mailed from the
- 15:40Speaker 10: Red Sox to gifted from them so that we can
- 15:43Speaker 10: auction off to raise money. So we've got a few
- 15:45Speaker 10: items and we're figuring out details as to how we're
- 15:48Speaker 10: gonna do it, maybe an online you know, silent auction
- 15:51Speaker 10: kind of deal.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Keegan, Uh, what kinds of things were you involved for
- 15:56Speaker 2: some of the fundraising?
- 15:58Speaker 12: Well? I did.
- 15:59Speaker 7: I went to a lot of like the jobs and
- 16:02Speaker 7: stuff and did that.
- 16:04Speaker 2: What did you have to do?
- 16:05Speaker 12: Stack would rake leaves? Bake sales?
- 16:10Speaker 2: Bake sales? Did you do any of the baking for
- 16:13Speaker 2: the bake sales. No, okay, did you did you do
- 16:17Speaker 2: any shoveling, any snow removal?
- 16:22Speaker 12: Did we?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Did you?
- 16:24Speaker 4: No?
- 16:24Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 16:26Speaker 4: No.
- 16:26Speaker 10: We actually surprisingly didn't get a lot of snow shoveling.
- 16:29Speaker 10: But hey, if anyone still has snow to be shoveled,
- 16:31Speaker 10: cleared out, taken away, we're happy to take care of it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Wow. Wow, So you guys had to raise upwards of
- 16:40Speaker 2: well more than twenty thousand dollars. Do you guys have
- 16:46Speaker 2: any idea like that? That's a lot of money.
- 16:49Speaker 12: One hundred dollars is a lot of money in a move.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Well, that's that's I'm glad you're thinking that way, because
- 16:54Speaker 2: that's that's very true. But that's that's an insane amount
- 16:57Speaker 2: of money. If you guys up to your head around this,
- 17:01Speaker 2: do you do you understand that you're you're going to
- 17:03Speaker 2: Cooper's Town?
- 17:04Speaker 7: Not quite yet, it's still kind of like whoa.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure. What do you What do
- 17:11Speaker 2: you think is is gonna happen when you get there? Keegan?
- 17:15Speaker 12: We're gonna play baseball, yes you are.
- 17:18Speaker 2: And you guys can kick some major pot, but what, like,
- 17:21Speaker 2: what what's gonna happen there? I mean, do you have
- 17:23Speaker 2: like a is there like a practice or is it
- 17:26Speaker 2: you're gonna you're gonna start out? Do you know what
- 17:28Speaker 2: the schedule is at all?
- 17:30Speaker 12: I mean we played baseball for a week okay every day.
- 17:35Speaker 10: Yeah, and there's kind of some opening ceremonies so you
- 17:38Speaker 10: guys will get to, you know, meet the other teams there.
- 17:40Speaker 10: They do like a little bit of a parade sort
- 17:43Speaker 10: of thing and and there's a lot of uh socialization
- 17:46Speaker 10: opportunities for the kids, which is cool. So they're coming
- 17:48Speaker 10: from all over the country and they do pin trading,
- 17:50Speaker 10: so each team designs and brings their own pins, and
- 17:53Speaker 10: you're trying to trade with all the other kids and
- 17:55Speaker 10: teams so you can you know, get everybody's pins and
- 17:58Speaker 10: just sets up opportunities for them to meet people and
- 17:59Speaker 10: the Iraq.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It's very cool. Now, Keegan, are you are you? Are
- 18:05Speaker 2: you guys practicing right now?
- 18:10Speaker 12: Not really like.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Are you doing any kind of indoor.
- 18:13Speaker 7: Stuff for our Bury Community Baseball? We're doing uh something,
- 18:19Speaker 7: We're doing a thing at Norwich Uh every Sunday.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yes, beginning at two o'clock. Yes, Lily is doing that too, Yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 2: she's over there.
- 18:31Speaker 11: Uh.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's good to to get your arm moving around and
- 18:36Speaker 2: throw it, throw a baseball or softball around a little bit.
- 18:39Speaker 2: That's that's a good thing. Are you guys nervous at all? No,
- 18:46Speaker 2: you are nervous a little bit. What if What if
- 18:53Speaker 2: you don't do very well? What if you know you
- 18:56Speaker 2: you know, you get out there and things aren't going
- 18:59Speaker 2: well for you? What what are you gonna these.
- 19:02Speaker 7: Kids from way bigger states in order a pretty small state.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Are you gonna be Are you gonna be okay with that?
- 19:11Speaker 12: As long as you.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Just try try your best your best? Right? I remember
- 19:20Speaker 2: when Miles was in here, you guys were telling me
- 19:22Speaker 2: that when you get when you step on the field,
- 19:26Speaker 2: you've become kind of different boys. You support each other
- 19:34Speaker 2: a lot, and you you get your head in the
- 19:36Speaker 2: game big time. Is that right? What position do you
- 19:40Speaker 2: do you play? Keegan? Depends on the day. What do
- 19:47Speaker 2: you what do you like to play? What position do
- 19:49Speaker 2: you like to play?
- 19:50Speaker 12: The most?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Shortstop? Okay? Oh your picture? So so what's the age
- 19:59Speaker 2: very here?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:01Speaker 10: So, well, you guys are the same grade. But Keegan's
- 20:05Speaker 10: almost got a year on Keegan right birthday wise, and
- 20:08Speaker 10: they're actually two of our younger on the team. So
- 20:12Speaker 10: the Cooper's Town roster rules are it's basically twelve U,
- 20:16Speaker 10: but you can be I think May first is a cup.
- 20:20Speaker 10: You could actually be thirteen as long as it's before
- 20:22Speaker 10: May first of this year. So we'll see some kids
- 20:24Speaker 10: that are you know, older than these kids. And the
- 20:27Speaker 10: rules are a little different. It's the the cow ripkind rules.
- 20:31Speaker 10: So the base pass are you know, ten to be longer,
- 20:33Speaker 10: pitching distance is a little longer, So it'll be different
- 20:36Speaker 10: from them, different kind of game.
- 20:37Speaker 2: It'll be a challenge, it will.
- 20:39Speaker 10: Be challenging, and we're trying to prep them as to
- 20:41Speaker 10: like KB here with saying, you know, they just have fun, guys,
- 20:45Speaker 10: enjoy the experience. Obviously we're a competitive team here in
- 20:48Speaker 10: our environment, but we'll see how we stack up with
- 20:50Speaker 10: with other states and have fun.
- 20:53Speaker 2: When when does the season start right here?
- 20:57Speaker 10: Well, so we are doing the the winter training now
- 21:01Speaker 10: for anyone who wants to, and a lot of our
- 21:03Speaker 10: kids who are going to Cooperstown have been at Norwich
- 21:05Speaker 10: the last couple of weeks, so getting some time in
- 21:07Speaker 10: there and then we'll be in mid April. We'll get
- 21:11Speaker 10: up here in the b o R on the turf
- 21:14Speaker 10: and hopefully by early May, we'll be on the fields
- 21:18Speaker 10: if the snow melts and the fields dry out quick enough.
- 21:22Speaker 10: And of course we have our regular season with with
- 21:24Speaker 10: Barry Baseball at that point. But hopefully we can get
- 21:27Speaker 10: our Cooperstown group together maybe on some Sundays and get
- 21:30Speaker 10: some additional practice time so they can kind of see
- 21:33Speaker 10: some of the nuances of the different you know, rules
- 21:36Speaker 10: and things that will be like at Cooperstown and give
- 21:38Speaker 10: them a chance to play together that way.
- 21:40Speaker 2: What teams are you playing in and around Central Vermont?
- 21:45Speaker 12: We play Central Vermont.
- 21:47Speaker 10: Which is a Montpellier Berlin area, Okay, Northfield, Williams, No,
- 21:58Speaker 10: not really mad River mm hmm. And when we go,
- 22:05Speaker 10: you know, all Stars in the summer. Last couple of
- 22:07Speaker 10: years we've sent teams to states and so then we
- 22:10Speaker 10: see some of the Chenna County area teams Essex, Bradleborough,
- 22:16Speaker 10: Champlaine Valley.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Wow. So keek, and how old are you? You're eleven?
- 22:24Speaker 2: All right, So what's the oldest player? You said, thirteen?
- 22:29Speaker 10: Yeah, we won't have any thirteen year olds. We'll have
- 22:33Speaker 10: a lot of twelve year olds.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Okay, So who's uh, who's footing the bill for the
- 22:39Speaker 2: for the bus and and everything. How's that all work out?
- 22:43Speaker 10: Yeah, so it's personal transportation right now. So each family's
- 22:46Speaker 10: kind of packing up the vehicle and bringing their squad out,
- 22:50Speaker 10: which is why, even though we've paid you know what
- 22:53Speaker 10: we owe to Cooper's town, we still have a lot
- 22:55Speaker 10: of expenses expected for families to make it out there,
- 22:58Speaker 10: for gas and lodging. Every family obviously has to stay
- 23:03Speaker 10: somewhere on their own.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So wait a second, this, this twenty four k doesn't
- 23:07Speaker 2: include a four star hotel.
- 23:10Speaker 10: No, unfortunately, not just the kids. The kids and the
- 23:13Speaker 10: coaches are taking care of, but the parents there are
- 23:16Speaker 10: still on their own. So I think some people might
- 23:18Speaker 10: be camping, some are looking for hotels, airbnbs, So that's
- 23:22Speaker 10: you know, a week of expenses for families can be
- 23:25Speaker 10: a lot.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Sure, when is this all happening? In August? Right? That's right? Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 2: the middle of August, we'll be headed out.
- 23:32Speaker 4: For a week.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Seems like a so far away, but it's it's yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 2: it's really not. It's going to be here really soon, yep,
- 23:42Speaker 2: for sure. So how can and I think I may
- 23:46Speaker 2: have asked this this this question last time, but how
- 23:51Speaker 2: can Central Vermont see here? How you guys are doing
- 23:58Speaker 2: in this this huge tournament.
- 24:00Speaker 10: So the awesome part of this is part of the package,
- 24:04Speaker 10: you get a game stream, so they actually will video
- 24:07Speaker 10: and stream all of the games. So follow us on
- 24:11Speaker 10: Facebook and we'll make sure to keep that update as
- 24:13Speaker 10: to where the stream is located, how you access that,
- 24:16Speaker 10: and hopefully anybody who wants to can can actually watch
- 24:19Speaker 10: our games.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Live or hop in the car.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Absolutely come on out and support us.
- 24:24Speaker 2: We love it. That's incredible. What is this, uh, what's
- 24:28Speaker 2: this facility like where you're going to be playing? What
- 24:31Speaker 2: is this like in Cooperstown?
- 24:34Speaker 10: Have you guys seen it? It's pretty awesome. It's I
- 24:36Speaker 10: saw like the dorms, like college dorms sort of thing.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But the fields are incredible.
- 24:44Speaker 10: I mean, these facilities are are massive with I think
- 24:49Speaker 10: I'll say forty fields out there. I mean, they have
- 24:51Speaker 10: so many baseball fields in their state of the art,
- 24:55Speaker 10: top of the line, you know, immaculate baseball fields, probably
- 24:59Speaker 10: the best you guys will have played on today. It's
- 25:02Speaker 10: it's pretty impressive stuff.
- 25:05Speaker 2: So I think what you were you were just kind
- 25:08Speaker 2: of alluding to a minute ago you said it wouldn't
- 25:13Speaker 2: hurt if some more money was raised.
- 25:15Speaker 10: Yeah, absolutely, that's why if you've been following us on Facebook,
- 25:19Speaker 10: we've got our initial goal we set was thirty thousand,
- 25:23Speaker 10: so we actually haven't hit our stated goal even though
- 25:27Speaker 10: we've you know, met what we need to pay Cooperstown.
- 25:31Speaker 10: We're hoping to raise thirty thousand dollars total, and that's
- 25:34Speaker 10: just again to help reimburse families for out of pocket costs.
- 25:40Speaker 10: You know, the team is hoping maybe we can even
- 25:42Speaker 10: get a couple of team bats to bring out there.
- 25:44Speaker 10: You know, of course, everyone who goes out has has
- 25:47Speaker 10: the best of the best, right and actually some of
- 25:49Speaker 10: the so when we played Little League, you can only
- 25:51Speaker 10: use USA approved bats.
- 25:53Speaker 2: You go to.
- 25:54Speaker 10: Cooperstown you can use the U Triple SA bats, which
- 25:57Speaker 10: I've really got a lot more pop, right, I mean
- 26:00Speaker 10: they yeah, the ball comes singing, singing off those bats.
- 26:04Speaker 10: They I think they kind of make it a little
- 26:06Speaker 10: hitter friend. They want they want the kids to hit
- 26:08Speaker 10: the ball around, maybe hit some some balls over the
- 26:11Speaker 10: fence and have fun. So we're hoping we can give
- 26:13Speaker 10: them that opportunity by maybe getting a couple a couple
- 26:16Speaker 10: of nice new bats for him.
- 26:19Speaker 2: What did you say, but you don't know? I mean
- 26:23Speaker 2: I know, I will, I will in your outfields needs
- 26:27Speaker 2: to be they need to know this. They need to
- 26:30Speaker 2: be prepared for some pretty good pop flies here. Right.
- 26:34Speaker 10: Actually, Keith Myers hit a home run in All Stars
- 26:38Speaker 10: this year, right, Yeah, you hit a home.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Run over the fence. Come on, are you serious? That's incredible.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Crowd go wild, a couple of drinks getting spilled.
- 26:53Speaker 12: Maybe that team went wild.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure sure, that's that's really cool. Was that
- 27:00Speaker 2: kind of the the highlight of your career?
- 27:04Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Thus far? Yeah? That oh?
- 27:08Speaker 4: Is it?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Really?
- 27:09Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 27:09Speaker 12: Put the case?
- 27:11Speaker 2: So what's your shirt? Say? What's this district championship all over?
- 27:14Speaker 12: Oh? This was in twenty twenty three? Your own districts?
- 27:18Speaker 2: Were you? Were you part of that?
- 27:21Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 27:22Speaker 2: How old were you? Then? You're the eight?
- 27:24Speaker 12: Eight or nine?
- 27:27Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. Where did that happen? Kegan Bonfield at
- 27:33Speaker 2: the Bondfield. Yeah, that's a historic field up there. That's serious.
- 27:38Speaker 2: I love that field, A nice field. Yeah, you guys
- 27:45Speaker 2: must be really excited and look at this community rallying
- 27:50Speaker 2: behind you, supporting you. You guys to raise this kind
- 27:55Speaker 2: of money, I mean twenty four thousand dollars, that's huge.
- 28:00Speaker 10: It's really impressive. Yeah, we are blown away, incredibly grateful.
- 28:06Speaker 10: And like we said when we we came in here, initially,
- 28:08Speaker 10: you know, we wanted these kids to kind of kind
- 28:11Speaker 10: of work for and earn it, right. We didn't want
- 28:12Speaker 10: to just you know, Yeah, we had the gofund me,
- 28:15Speaker 10: we had some things like that, and some people made
- 28:17Speaker 10: some some generous donations.
- 28:19Speaker 2: But for the most part.
- 28:20Speaker 4: It was work.
- 28:21Speaker 10: I mean these kids were were out there, uh, stacking
- 28:24Speaker 10: wood for hours in the cold, raking leaves. You know
- 28:28Speaker 10: that that sweat equity.
- 28:29Speaker 2: They really earned this thing. The baked sales.
- 28:34Speaker 10: Out there at the hot cocoa stand, I remember that
- 28:37Speaker 10: thing was Yeah, them them working for it. I mean
- 28:39Speaker 10: we we wanted them to to kind of earn it
- 28:42Speaker 10: and you know, makes it makes it a little feel
- 28:45Speaker 10: a little better, right when you do.
- 28:47Speaker 2: It that way. And and some great area businesses like
- 28:50Speaker 2: Tractors Supply supported you guys too. What did you do
- 28:53Speaker 2: over there?
- 28:54Speaker 7: We did a bake sale and Tractors Supply and uh
- 28:58Speaker 7: we saw some cute puppies, which.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Is a good thing. That doesn't hurt. That's great. And
- 29:05Speaker 2: community comes. They see your faces, they know who you
- 29:08Speaker 2: guys are and what you're doing. And you've really made
- 29:12Speaker 2: a name for yourself here. You guys are are we're
- 29:16Speaker 2: already fair to say, very proud and to be honest
- 29:22Speaker 2: with you, speaking on behalf of our community. You guys
- 29:25Speaker 2: have have you know, we're so proud you've already won.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I mean, no matter what happens in Cooperstown, we are
- 29:32Speaker 2: just so proud that Barry from Aunt is getting represented
- 29:37Speaker 2: there and that's really a big deal. Yeah, I'm so
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm surprised that we're not doing you know.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Like.
- 29:49Speaker 2: A big motor coach, like a huge fancy bus. You know, well,
- 29:58Speaker 2: you know, I I is it possible? I don't know.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I mean maybe maybe it is. Maybe there's there's somebody
- 30:07Speaker 2: out there that can uh write a check and say,
- 30:10Speaker 2: let's let's get instead of individual transportation, let's get all
- 30:15Speaker 2: these kids on a big motor coach and get them
- 30:18Speaker 2: off to Cooper's time pulled up in suits. We got
- 30:27Speaker 2: the prey coming up this this summer. You guys, could
- 30:31Speaker 2: you know, maybe be in that that would be cool.
- 30:33Speaker 2: You know, Barry wants to see you, man, We want
- 30:36Speaker 2: to see you guys. Or like I said, we're already
- 30:40Speaker 2: really really proud of you. What what other do we
- 30:44Speaker 2: have any other projects here on the horizon that you
- 30:48Speaker 2: guys are going to be doing. We do.
- 30:50Speaker 10: Yeah, we have a date for a coin drop in
- 30:55Speaker 10: Barry right now. It's tentatively scheduled for April fifth, where
- 31:00Speaker 10: we'll be down here in front of the Dominoes on
- 31:04Speaker 10: on Main Street from nine to two, so hoping people
- 31:09Speaker 10: can can stop by and make some donations.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Then is that a Saturday? It is, yes, Saturday, April fifth.
- 31:19Speaker 10: Okay, we are planning to do a March Madness bracket,
- 31:24Speaker 10: so get some some entries for that and chance to
- 31:28Speaker 10: win some money and support us in the meantime.
- 31:32Speaker 2: All right, this is all going to be I'm assuming
- 31:35Speaker 2: on your your social media. Absolutely.
- 31:38Speaker 10: Yeah, we'll let everyone know when those are happening and where.
- 31:41Speaker 2: All right, So how does that? How does that work?
- 31:44Speaker 2: You do a bracket and if you if you do well.
- 31:48Speaker 10: Yeah, similar to our Super Bowl squares that we did,
- 31:51Speaker 10: we had everybody enter and and then yeah, based on
- 31:55Speaker 10: how well you do, we'll have payouts for you know,
- 31:58Speaker 10: the top so many people.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and then maybe a silent auction.
- 32:06Speaker 10: Yes, we do have some items that we're looking to
- 32:10Speaker 10: do an auction with. We've gotten some some generous donations
- 32:14Speaker 10: from local businesses, some gift.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Cards, some memorabilia.
- 32:18Speaker 10: Actually, the Boston Red Sox did mail us a autographed
- 32:22Speaker 10: player photo, so we've got that to include as an item,
- 32:26Speaker 10: So we'll definitely put something together to get those off too.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Do you have any any any idea when that might be.
- 32:34Speaker 10: Not yet, stay tuned for the exact details on that.
- 32:38Speaker 10: We're kind of putting everything together now, sort of figuring
- 32:40Speaker 10: out the timeline from from here on out.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, we've.
- 32:45Speaker 10: Hit that initial goal. I think we're all kind of
- 32:47Speaker 10: taking a deep breath right now that we've made that
- 32:49Speaker 10: final balance payment and now we've got until August to
- 32:53Speaker 10: kind of plan out the rest of it. So we'll
- 32:57Speaker 10: figure out details on timing and all that, and like said,
- 33:00Speaker 10: follow us on Facebook.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely follow Granted City Blast Faseball on facebooking. You
- 33:09Speaker 2: said two days worth of playing once you get to Cooperstown. Oh,
- 33:14Speaker 2: it's more than that.
- 33:15Speaker 12: A week.
- 33:16Speaker 2: It'll be all week.
- 33:18Speaker 12: So seven games.
- 33:20Speaker 10: I believe it's a minimum of seven games. Yeah, oh, possibly,
- 33:25Speaker 10: it depends. I think they do, you know, like an
- 33:27Speaker 10: initial pool play and then a bracket, single elimination kind
- 33:30Speaker 10: of thing. So depending on how well you do, you
- 33:32Speaker 10: could keep playing. It's no more than a week, but yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 10: you play a lot of games. So hopefully the kid's
- 33:40Speaker 10: arms are loose because we're gonna need them all.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm assuming you're gonna stick around and be
- 33:45Speaker 2: watching everything. Yeah, for sure.
- 33:48Speaker 10: It's a it's an experience. I mean they do festivities
- 33:51Speaker 10: at the end too, to kind of wrap it up
- 33:53Speaker 10: and celebrate all the teams and all the players. So
- 33:56Speaker 10: it's a it's a full week start to finish of
- 33:58Speaker 10: baseball and activities and fun.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Uh. Brian Gallagher was just in here the other day.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Do you know who that is. He's he's the president
- 34:13Speaker 2: and uh CEO of of the Vermont Mountaineers. Oh, yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 2: that's Brian Gallagher. Yeah, he was just in here. And
- 34:25Speaker 2: you know, these guys are just so excited. I mean,
- 34:29Speaker 2: they've got their their youth baseball camp schedule that's been posted.
- 34:34Speaker 2: They've got volunteers that are lined up and ready to
- 34:38Speaker 2: go for the season. Uh, you've been over to the
- 34:41Speaker 2: recreation field in Montpellier to see the Mountaineers. You throughout
- 34:46Speaker 2: the first last season, you did really well. Listen. He
- 34:51Speaker 2: gave me, uh some tickets to to go to the game.
- 34:55Speaker 2: I want to give them to you, So I've got
- 34:57Speaker 2: them right here and I'm gonna hand them to you
- 35:00Speaker 2: guys so that you guys can go. Okay, thanks, Yeah,
- 35:04Speaker 2: You're welcome and just have a blast and enjoy. And
- 35:09Speaker 2: I'm hoping that that Brian's gonna I think it's the
- 35:12Speaker 2: first game, the first local game June sixth, when he
- 35:20Speaker 2: gets area baseball teams together to come to the field,
- 35:26Speaker 2: obviously in uniform, and I think they give you some
- 35:29Speaker 2: kind of recognition and get you out in the field.
- 35:32Speaker 2: You guys gonna be there for that?
- 35:34Speaker 12: Yeah? Probably probably all right.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I hope I plan to be and I hope to
- 35:39Speaker 2: see you guys there. But I'm gonna give you the
- 35:42Speaker 2: tickets that he gave to me, and I know you
- 35:44Speaker 2: guys will go anyways and enjoy, palm back, a few
- 35:49Speaker 2: hot dogs or whatever and watch some great baseball. Have
- 35:54Speaker 2: you been to the Lake Monsters at all? Have you
- 35:56Speaker 2: been out that way?
- 35:58Speaker 12: I haven't. Yeah, we went last season.
- 36:02Speaker 2: What about what about Fenway Park?
- 36:03Speaker 12: Yep? Last season and they're twice?
- 36:07Speaker 2: How was it? Who did they play the.
- 36:09Speaker 11: Angels and they also played the White Sox?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Okay, did well the Red Sox.
- 36:15Speaker 12: Yeah, no, they lost both games.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Okay, they did the.
- 36:18Speaker 7: One that we went to last season. Oh, we were
- 36:21Speaker 7: sitting right by the pest pool and I went to
- 36:23Speaker 7: the tenth inning. Bonald the tenth Raffie hit a double
- 36:28Speaker 7: off defence to win the game.
- 36:29Speaker 12: It's pretty cool.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Wow.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you get to see all that. Yeah, it's crazy,
- 36:35Speaker 2: isn't it. It's totally different when you're when you're sitting
- 36:38Speaker 2: there watching it versus watching it on TV.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 36:43Speaker 12: Yeah, the ball bounced right off my dad's hand. What
- 36:47Speaker 12: foul ball? And it bounced off his hand.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Wow.
- 36:52Speaker 12: Some lady that was on her phone got it.
- 36:55Speaker 4: And she.
- 36:57Speaker 12: That's right in her lap?
- 37:01Speaker 2: Really yeah, and really, I mean shame on her for
- 37:06Speaker 2: being on her phone. She should have been paying attention
- 37:09Speaker 2: to the game. Why do you spend that money going
- 37:11Speaker 2: to the Red Sox to sit down on your phone
- 37:13Speaker 2: watch the game?
- 37:14Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And and and she would get it. Of course
- 37:19Speaker 2: she should have given it to your dad, don't you
- 37:21Speaker 2: think for you? I would have. So anyone that's that's
- 37:31Speaker 2: watching or listening right now that wants to support you
- 37:37Speaker 2: guys in any way, what's the way that they can
- 37:43Speaker 2: do that if you know if they have.
- 37:48Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, first off, like I said before, we
- 37:52Speaker 10: you know, we're willing to work for it. So certainly,
- 37:54Speaker 10: if you have anything that that can be done around
- 37:57Speaker 10: the house, let us know, and the kids.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Would would love to help you out.
- 38:02Speaker 10: Secondly, if you're feeling generous enough and just want to
- 38:05Speaker 10: support us, we still have our you know, our Venmo,
- 38:09Speaker 10: our PayPal, our GoFundMe, everything is still active. Feel free
- 38:13Speaker 10: to look it up on Facebook or send us a
- 38:16Speaker 10: message if you can't find it, and we can send
- 38:18Speaker 10: you the links for those. And I should also mention
- 38:22Speaker 10: we've gotten actually a lot of sponsorships from from businesses
- 38:27Speaker 10: that have just been willing to send some money to
- 38:30Speaker 10: Granite City Blast, And we're putting together a little banner
- 38:34Speaker 10: that's going to list all of our donors and businesses
- 38:37Speaker 10: on there so we can bring it with us to
- 38:38Speaker 10: Cooperstown and kind of have that representation to show that
- 38:41Speaker 10: support of everybody who got us there.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Wow, yes, you can wait. What did you just say, like?
- 38:53Speaker 2: Wave it around? Yeah, Well, don't listen to me. If
