- 0:02Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:06Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan, O'Malley and he
- 0:10Speaker 1: is Trey Trendholm. Trey, what do you have in store
- 0:13Speaker 1: for us today? Oh?
- 0:15Speaker 2: You know, Daniel, some thought provoking questions regarding relationships and such.
- 0:21Speaker 2: But first, Happy.
- 0:22Speaker 3: New Year, Happy New Year to you, Thank you?
- 0:25Speaker 2: How is your How was your New Year's Eve?
- 0:30Speaker 1: We did not make it to midnight, and I'm okay
- 0:33Speaker 1: with that. I am at the age now where that's
- 0:35Speaker 1: totally fine. And it wasn't even played for us to
- 0:38Speaker 1: make it to midnight. Our favorite restaurant had an opening
- 0:41Speaker 1: for two at five point thirty in the afternoon, and
- 0:44Speaker 1: we said that sounds good. So we did that and
- 0:48Speaker 1: we were in bed before ten, so it went very
- 0:52Speaker 1: very well.
- 0:52Speaker 3: How about you?
- 0:56Speaker 2: I made it to midnight, Brandy barely did. I kind
- 1:04Speaker 2: of had a nudge rope awake, but we had a
- 1:09Speaker 2: lovely you know. We went to the Stars game. They
- 1:14Speaker 2: did not did not play well, but it was still fun.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And then I made a big batch of chili and
- 1:22Speaker 2: we were home I probably ten thirty and and thank god,
- 1:29Speaker 2: because then I saw the videos of downtown Dallas. I
- 1:32Speaker 2: had forgotten that people just park on the interstates and
- 1:36Speaker 2: everything to watch the fireworks, which in the videos I saw,
- 1:39Speaker 2: Bravo Dallas, they did it one hell of a fireworks show.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they've really gone balls out.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Well, and the drones that everyone is using now really
- 1:50Speaker 2: makes it all the more impressive.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I had this thought the other day. So there was
- 1:56Speaker 1: this crazy drone show in Las Vegas, coinciding with the
- 2:04Speaker 1: finale of Stranger Things, and I couldn't help but think,
- 2:09Speaker 1: just imagine if you could go back in time with
- 2:13Speaker 1: just the drone show for Stranger Things and put that
- 2:17Speaker 1: in the skies over a small town in the United
- 2:20Speaker 1: States circa nineteen eighty five, get people's reactions, Oh my god,
- 2:26Speaker 1: especially because one of these scenes in the drone show
- 2:31Speaker 1: is sort of that red void portal that's opening up
- 2:35Speaker 1: with Vecna coming through and this is all drones and
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm getting chills just thinking about it. But then I'm
- 2:40Speaker 1: just imagining what that would look like over a typical
- 2:43Speaker 1: Midwest town in nineteen eighty five, with no knowledge of
- 2:47Speaker 1: drones or anything.
- 2:48Speaker 3: People would lose their goddamn minds.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Oh it would be I mean, podium, you know, I
- 2:56Speaker 2: remember when when Reagan, you know, had that Hot Mike episode,
- 3:00Speaker 2: you know, because the presidents used to do a weekly
- 3:03Speaker 2: radio address.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Uh and you know, I forgot.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Exactly what he said a basis said that, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 2: the Soviets are attacking where it wore something like that,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and you know people flipped out. Uh so, yeah, if
- 3:15Speaker 2: you put actual something they could see. Oh and again
- 3:22Speaker 2: hard to imagine for most people that you're going to
- 3:24Speaker 2: a time where there was no internet, you had three
- 3:26Speaker 2: television stations and yeah, people would wig the fuck out.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And and in your homes, your standard homes, you were
- 3:34Speaker 1: lucky if you got a couple of UHF channels.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Forget cable the other I mean, cable was barely a thing,
- 3:44Speaker 2: especially if you're in rural you know, in the country,
- 3:49Speaker 2: your best option. Hell, they didn't get cable most places
- 3:54Speaker 2: till in the two thousands. I mean you either had
- 3:57Speaker 2: you had one of the in the eighties, you had
- 3:59Speaker 2: one of those gig gigantic you know, eight foot satellite
- 4:03Speaker 2: dishes that you needed a doctorate to you know, figure
- 4:08Speaker 2: out how to use because you actually had to know
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know, the different angles and where satellites were and
- 4:14Speaker 2: everything else. Then you know, direct TV came along.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, those are the white monoliths of the country side.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Uh.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And I think you and I know about that all
- 4:23Speaker 1: too well, because while we mainly grew up in the
- 4:27Speaker 1: Dallas area, we both spent a good chunks. We both
- 4:30Speaker 1: spent good chunks of our childhood in rural areas. You Leonard, Texas,
- 4:36Speaker 1: me technically in between two rural towns, so like I
- 4:40Speaker 1: was in between Bartlesville, Oklahoma and no Wada, Oklahoma. So yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: if you showed that in the sky over over, oh
- 4:48Speaker 1: god it no, everyone would have freaked out and it
- 4:54Speaker 1: would have been uh, like I said, it would have.
- 4:56Speaker 1: It definitely would have been pandemonium, which is part of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the reason why I wish I could go back in
- 5:00Speaker 1: time with that drone.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Joke and do it, just to see the havoc that
- 5:02Speaker 3: it would cause.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And by the way, I I have not Have you
- 5:06Speaker 2: seen the final episode of Stranger Things? Oh yeah, okay,
- 5:09Speaker 2: I have not watched it yet, so no spoilers.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Really, Tara Trey hasn't seen the finale yet A Stranger Things,
- 5:18Speaker 1: oh you just got the she just did the face
- 5:22Speaker 1: so well.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Brandy has not watched any of them, so it's oh
- 5:28Speaker 2: uh like she had, like she's never seen an episode
- 5:31Speaker 2: of Stranger Things.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Oh, this is very interesting. Yeah, but that's so.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Are you then going to start over with season one
- 5:42Speaker 1: with with the new girlfriend and watch all of them
- 5:45Speaker 1: culminating into a season five and somehow avoid spoilers in
- 5:50Speaker 1: that time?
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm going to much like you are with Tara. I
- 5:58Speaker 2: am not going to force her to watch any thing.
- 6:01Speaker 2: She's always been open. She's like, I'll give it a shot. So,
- 6:06Speaker 2: after watching the last season up to the final episode,
- 6:11Speaker 2: which I think has been fantastic, I so far one
- 6:16Speaker 2: of the best final seasons of TV. I think I've seen,
- 6:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna, you know, let her. I would like to
- 6:24Speaker 2: go back and actually watch it again because I feel
- 6:27Speaker 2: like there's a lot of stuff I've forgotten from the
- 6:29Speaker 2: first two seasons especially. Yeah, so I'm gonna give it
- 6:33Speaker 2: a shot and see if she's interested. And if she is,
- 6:35Speaker 2: then yeah, we'll watch it. If not, uh, she's uh
- 6:40Speaker 2: you know, and and it's my fault I did this
- 6:43Speaker 2: that this is Uh, I can't even I'll save this
- 6:50Speaker 2: for another show.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Make a note of it. Yeah, but the Treehouse the
- 6:56Speaker 3: Treehouse Show podcast will have amazing you know what from Trade.
- 7:00Speaker 2: We'll save this subject for the regular show because it's
- 7:03Speaker 2: it's something I will I did on on just almost
- 7:07Speaker 2: as a joke, and it's now come back to really
- 7:11Speaker 2: be a pain in my ass.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Kind of like the pegging jokes for me in twenty
- 7:16Speaker 3: twenty five.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You know, this one's almost worse. And I guess there's
- 7:23Speaker 2: a tease for the for the regular show.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Oh, I cannot wait.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You need to catch that show, which will drop on Tuesday.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Be sure to find and follow the Treehouse Show podcast
- 7:34Speaker 1: everywhere you get your podcasts, including Spotify, iHeart, and of
- 7:37Speaker 1: course Apple podcasts. All right, let's jump into the meat
- 7:40Speaker 1: of this show today. What do you got trade?
- 7:42Speaker 2: All right, We're gonna start off with I found a
- 7:45Speaker 2: very interesting question. Would I be the asshole for refusing
- 7:50Speaker 2: to meet my ex fiance who left me at the
- 7:53Speaker 2: altar even though he's dying and says he needs closure.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Four years ago, I was supposed to get married. I
- 8:02Speaker 2: was in my dress ready to walk down the aisle
- 8:04Speaker 2: when my fiance's best man told.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Me he was gone.
- 8:07Speaker 2: He got in the car and left without a word,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and I never heard from him again. I was destroyed.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I went to therapy for years to deal with trust
- 8:16Speaker 2: issues and humiliation. I'd explained everyone why the wedding didn't happen,
- 8:20Speaker 2: Return gifts, cancel vendors, I'll blah blah blah. Finally, FIELD
- 8:25Speaker 2: have an amazing boyfriend who helped me to learn to
- 8:27Speaker 2: trust again. I built a new life, and Jay became
- 8:30Speaker 2: a distant, painful memory I never wanted to revisit. Last week,
- 8:35Speaker 2: a mutual friend gave Jay my number without asking me.
- 8:39Speaker 2: He texted me saying he needs to see me because
- 8:41Speaker 2: he has a lot to explain. I ignored it. Then
- 8:45Speaker 2: he texted again, saying he's been diagnosed with terminal cancer
- 8:47Speaker 2: and he doesn't have much time left. He said he
- 8:51Speaker 2: needs to apologize and get closure before he dies. He
- 8:53Speaker 2: said it would mean everything to him if he could
- 8:56Speaker 2: have one hour. I said no, told him I spent
- 9:00Speaker 2: four years healing from what he did. I didn't know
- 9:03Speaker 2: him anything, so I hope he finds peace, but I
- 9:06Speaker 2: can't be a part of that. Wished him well and
- 9:08Speaker 2: blocked his number. Am I the asshole refusing to meet
- 9:13Speaker 2: with him even though he might die without getting to apologize.
- 9:16Speaker 1: No, this is an important lesson we all need to
- 9:20Speaker 1: learn in our lives, no matter short or long they
- 9:24Speaker 1: might be, there are consequences to your actions. I applaud
- 9:31Speaker 1: if genuine. I applaud his efforts to reconnect, to try
- 9:36Speaker 1: to make good as much as possible on what he
- 9:39Speaker 1: did to her those many years ago.
- 9:41Speaker 3: But I'm hoping that.
- 9:44Speaker 1: He respects her wishes in that scenario because ball's totally
- 9:51Speaker 1: in her court there. He has to live or die
- 9:54Speaker 1: with whatever she decides. And I think it's totally fine
- 9:58Speaker 1: for what he did to her. I think it's totally
- 10:00Speaker 1: fine for her to protect her piece that she has
- 10:02Speaker 1: worked so hard for.
- 10:04Speaker 3: She doesn't owe him anything.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And just because you're dying, that doesn't mean people owe
- 10:09Speaker 1: you something. I'm going to say that again, not just
- 10:13Speaker 1: for the living, but for those who are dead that
- 10:15Speaker 1: are still expecting something in their grave. Just because you're
- 10:20Speaker 1: dying doesn't mean people owe you shit.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I would love to take a counterpoint on this one,
- 10:30Speaker 2: but it's really hard.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I mean, and.
- 10:34Speaker 2: You know, there, I listen, I did some you know,
- 10:38Speaker 2: I've I have learned to make peace with that as
- 10:42Speaker 2: a recovering alcoholic, and I didn't said things that I
- 10:46Speaker 2: deeply regret that they're you know, you can't take back.
- 10:49Speaker 2: And that's just the way it is. Uh. And uh,
- 10:55Speaker 2: you know I would have you know, I would have
- 10:58Speaker 2: loved to have been able to make amends with Russ.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I tried, but you know I and I you know,
- 11:06Speaker 2: as I said, I wrote him a letter and I
- 11:07Speaker 2: made my amends. And I said, well, I don't regret
- 11:13Speaker 2: the overall context of what I said. I regret the
- 11:16Speaker 2: manner in which I said it. It was disrespectful. Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and then.
- 11:21Speaker 1: To be to be fair, that's yeah. And and to
- 11:24Speaker 1: be fair, disrespectful is the language he understood best.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Uh.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, So that's that's why, that's why it cut him
- 11:33Speaker 1: so deeply, if we're being honest. So you did exactly
- 11:38Speaker 1: with your situation. You did exactly what I would recommend
- 11:41Speaker 1: to this dying man as he's trying to make amends
- 11:44Speaker 1: to his ex. She says, no, then, by God, write
- 11:49Speaker 1: a letter, give it to someone third party that can
- 11:53Speaker 1: give it to her at some point if they choose
- 11:55Speaker 1: that way. His feelings are purged onto paper and she
- 12:01Speaker 1: may or may not ever read those words, but at
- 12:03Speaker 1: least he's purged them from his body in some way,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and it may be the only way he gets to it.
- 12:08Speaker 1: The other option is sit down in front of a
- 12:10Speaker 1: microphone and record I'm dying podcasts and see if she
- 12:12Speaker 1: eventually listens to it.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I mean, and it's a it's an excellent lesson of Also,
- 12:23Speaker 2: you think about your actions because there are some things
- 12:27Speaker 2: you cannot take back and try to avoid doing those things.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's especially difficult when you're young. You don't
- 12:34Speaker 1: think about consequences on a large scale. So like when
- 12:41Speaker 1: you're young, you're aware of consequences. You're aware that certain
- 12:44Speaker 1: things you do have you know, it's like the for
- 12:47Speaker 1: every action equal and opposite reaction, right, everything you do
- 12:50Speaker 1: will have some type of consequence. Could be good, could
- 12:53Speaker 1: be bad, don't know. But usually when we're young, when
- 12:56Speaker 1: we consider consequences, it's in a very short timeline. But
- 13:01Speaker 1: the older we get, we start thinking in longer timelines
- 13:05Speaker 1: and bigger pictures when it comes to consequences. So when
- 13:10Speaker 1: you're fifteen, you think, if I cheat on this test,
- 13:13Speaker 1: it would be bad because this might happen tomorrow.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Whereas we being.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Middle aged men, we think back on cheating on a
- 13:23Speaker 1: test when we're fifteen could have implications reaching far beyond
- 13:28Speaker 1: the next day. It may not be if you get
- 13:31Speaker 1: caught detention, and that's bad. It could be a permanent
- 13:35Speaker 1: negative mark on your record that keeps you from getting
- 13:39Speaker 1: into the college you wanted. Yeah, I mean, and that
- 13:43Speaker 1: can completely change, you know, trajectory of your life type
- 13:46Speaker 1: of stuff. That's kind of what I'm getting at. So
- 13:48Speaker 1: when you're young, you make a dumb decision, you're only
- 13:50Speaker 1: thinking about in the moment or the very brief future.
- 13:53Speaker 1: The older you get, you start thinking bigger term and
- 13:56Speaker 1: you start thinking, you know what, maybe I shouldn't cut
- 13:59Speaker 1: this corner here because it could have a major effect
- 14:01Speaker 1: far down the line.
- 14:04Speaker 2: That is very true. I mean, when you're young, you
- 14:07Speaker 2: don't think about at least I didn't really think about
- 14:10Speaker 2: the future. You don't think. Hell, you barely think next day.
- 14:15Speaker 3: You know what.
- 14:15Speaker 1: You're right, Yeah, the consequence thing when you're a kid,
- 14:18Speaker 1: if you even think about it at all, it's very short.
- 14:21Speaker 1: But you're right, I think, for the most part, and
- 14:24Speaker 1: I did the same thing. I didn't think about, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: the total consequences. I was like, man, I'm living in
- 14:29Speaker 1: the moment and I didn't even know what that was
- 14:31Speaker 1: back then.
- 14:34Speaker 2: All right, Well, that leads me to this next question.
- 14:36Speaker 2: And it's kind of spin off but thought provoking. What's
- 14:43Speaker 2: a bitter life lesson you learned from your longest or
- 14:48Speaker 2: from a failed relationship? All right, say it again, what's
- 14:54Speaker 2: a bitter life lesson learned from? Like you're for a
- 14:59Speaker 2: s magnificant relationship that failed?
- 15:05Speaker 3: Oh man, how much time do we have?
- 15:09Speaker 1: I feel like I just got thrown into the middle
- 15:11Speaker 1: of a World War two land mine. Accountability, I think,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I think. I think accountability in any relationship, whether it's
- 15:22Speaker 1: you know, romantic, platonic, business life, whatever, accountability I think
- 15:28Speaker 1: is something that some people take too much of and
- 15:35Speaker 1: then others don't take enough of. So I think accountability
- 15:38Speaker 1: is a big part of it. So like in in
- 15:42Speaker 1: failures of the past, I definitely take my fair share
- 15:46Speaker 1: of accountability on those things. And the good thing about
- 15:49Speaker 1: that is is you try to learn from it. And
- 15:53Speaker 1: then there's the people that don't and they just go
- 15:55Speaker 1: along thinking like ah, you suck. It's like, well, okay,
- 16:00Speaker 1: what about you?
- 16:01Speaker 2: I think the the biggest lesson I think I learned
- 16:06Speaker 2: is just because you love somebody does not mean you
- 16:11Speaker 2: are compatible and you can make it work. Like That's
- 16:15Speaker 2: I think, and I think that's definitely something that comes
- 16:21Speaker 2: with maturing. And I say that because I'm sure there
- 16:27Speaker 2: are a lot of people who learned that early on.
- 16:30Speaker 2: One of the things about alcoholism is, you know, they
- 16:32Speaker 2: say you quit maturing when you start drinking, And I
- 16:35Speaker 2: look back at my life, and you know, there are
- 16:37Speaker 2: a lot of ways when I quit drinking at forty two,
- 16:39Speaker 2: I acted like I was eighteen. But you know that
- 16:45Speaker 2: is Yeah, you can love someone to death, but that
- 16:49Speaker 2: does not mean that you can make it in a relationship,
- 16:52Speaker 2: because you know, you can still be really toxic for
- 16:56Speaker 2: each other.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very true. Uh, And I think I think
- 17:01Speaker 1: that's a big part of it as well. I think
- 17:03Speaker 1: I think I think the first step is just being
- 17:06Speaker 1: able to actually analyze those situations to that degree. That's
- 17:11Speaker 1: a huge step forward, because that's kind of like I
- 17:14Speaker 1: was saying with with mine accountability or the lack thereof.
- 17:17Speaker 1: There are some people that will just chalk it up to, oh,
- 17:20Speaker 1: he's a turd, and they won't stop to ever, you know, look.
- 17:23Speaker 3: In the mirror.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's nothing you can do about that. And
- 17:28Speaker 1: if they're not going to do it, you can't force them.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Well, I look back, it's something my grandfather said, and
- 17:37Speaker 2: he wasn't. Yeah, it's not like he was the first
- 17:40Speaker 2: person to ever say this, but it was. It was
- 17:43Speaker 2: such profound advice, and especially now that you know a healthy,
- 17:48Speaker 2: happy relationship. But he said, if it's if it's hard
- 17:56Speaker 2: in the beginning, is that's the honeymoon phase. If if
- 17:59Speaker 2: it's difficult, then it just gets worse. Yeah, and yeah, that.
- 18:03Speaker 1: That was.
- 18:06Speaker 2: True.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, along those lines.
- 18:11Speaker 1: A good metaphor for that, what your grandfather said is
- 18:16Speaker 1: like a roller coaster, right, and more specifically the big
- 18:20Speaker 1: fun roller coasters of the modern era.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:23Speaker 1: They start out super high, you're on the very top,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and things are good. It's beautiful up there, and you
- 18:33Speaker 1: know the track below is gonna have twists and turns
- 18:36Speaker 1: and ups and downs. But if you look at that
- 18:39Speaker 1: roller coaster, it's it's very rare that those roller coasters
- 18:43Speaker 1: ever go higher than that starting point. M it's all
- 18:47Speaker 1: downhill from there. It has a few you know, ticks
- 18:50Speaker 1: up here, some loops here, and a twist and a
- 18:52Speaker 1: turn and some zero G stuff where you think your
- 18:55Speaker 1: body's about to leave the planet, but then it comes
- 18:59Speaker 1: crashing back down.
- 19:01Speaker 3: And so when you look at it, look at it
- 19:03Speaker 3: like the skyline or.
- 19:04Speaker 1: The profile of a roller coaster. You can always tell
- 19:06Speaker 1: the beginning of it because it's not highest spot. That's
- 19:09Speaker 1: a relationship.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes you get stuck at the top of the
- 19:13Speaker 2: loop and you're just hanging on for dear.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Life and hoping the fire department shows up to rescue you,
- 19:19Speaker 1: typically upside down.
- 19:23Speaker 2: And finally the little bring a little levity to this,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I had. This is one I have never I've heard
- 19:31Speaker 2: some weird things, but I had never heard of this one.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Oh good.
- 19:36Speaker 2: My husband designates a left and right sock like I
- 19:42Speaker 2: don't understand this. After watching his socks, he spends an
- 19:45Speaker 2: hour separating the left and right foot socks and then
- 19:48Speaker 2: matches them together. If one is missing, he gets upset
- 19:53Speaker 2: say he ends up with two left feet. I say
- 19:56Speaker 2: this is weird and no one does this, and that
- 19:59Speaker 2: he should just buy new socks and wear them like
- 20:01Speaker 2: a normal person. He looks at me like I'm crazy.
- 20:05Speaker 2: He swears this has to be done because socks naturally
- 20:07Speaker 2: wear the shape of your foot, so if you mix
- 20:10Speaker 2: them up, you end up with an extra space in
- 20:13Speaker 2: that sock. Does anyone else do this?
- 20:17Speaker 3: I can't believe. I'm going to say this, but I
- 20:23Speaker 3: relate to this man on some level. No, and hang on.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Despite this seeming like a very surface level question, there's
- 20:34Speaker 1: a lot to unpack here. First of all, I kind.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Of do this.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I do not separate left sock, right sock when it
- 20:48Speaker 1: comes out of the laundry. I'll just I'll match the socks.
- 20:50Speaker 1: If it's the same, one they go together, next one same,
- 20:53Speaker 1: they match, go together.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I'm not doing left right.
- 20:57Speaker 1: But when I pull the socks out to then wear them,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I will look at the contour of the sock to
- 21:06Speaker 1: see if one is the left and one is the
- 21:10Speaker 1: right from usage, and if I can, I will put
- 21:14Speaker 1: them on accordingly. I Am not going to spend an
- 21:17Speaker 1: hour matching up left right, left right as it comes
- 21:20Speaker 1: out of the laundry. So I'm like fifty percent of
- 21:23Speaker 1: this guy.
- 21:25Speaker 2: How much analysis do you do? I mean, does it
- 21:30Speaker 2: have to be obvious or do we really lay them
- 21:32Speaker 2: out on like a bed and really look at the
- 21:35Speaker 2: contour of the sock.
- 21:37Speaker 1: So this happened just two days ago, So I'll tell
- 21:39Speaker 1: you exactly what happened. Pulled the socks out. They're in
- 21:43Speaker 1: the bunch right. Then I pulled them out of the bunch.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Then I put them on my thigh and like, okay.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Then I look at the left one first and see
- 21:49Speaker 1: is this the left or the right?
- 21:51Speaker 3: Can I tell?
- 21:52Speaker 1: I couldn't tell, So I was like, okay, I'll put
- 21:54Speaker 1: that one down, let me grab the other one. I
- 21:56Speaker 1: grabbed the other one, and I was like, that's clearly
- 21:58Speaker 1: the right one. So I go back to the left
- 22:02Speaker 1: and I'm looking at it shape and I was like,
- 22:04Speaker 1: you know, this could go either way whatever. I know,
- 22:08Speaker 1: the right one is the right one. This one's just
- 22:10Speaker 1: gonna go on the left, and it is what it is.
- 22:12Speaker 1: That's where it stopped for me. And it took all
- 22:13Speaker 1: of twenty seconds. That's as far as I'll go with that.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So again, I kind of understand where this guy is
- 22:22Speaker 1: coming from. I'm not to that extreme, but I get
- 22:27Speaker 1: it now. I'd like to point this out because I said,
- 22:30Speaker 1: there's a lot under the surface here that you're just
- 22:33Speaker 1: take tinking it as a Oh this is a silly sockman.
- 22:37Speaker 1: If this is the biggest complaint this woman has about
- 22:40Speaker 1: her man, she needs to consider herself lucky.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I have a sad time believing this would be the
- 22:47Speaker 2: biggest complaint. If he's this. If he's this problematic of socks.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Well, this is my thing.
- 22:55Speaker 1: If this is not the biggest problem, then why is
- 22:58Speaker 1: she posting about it online? Post about the serious stuff, right,
- 23:02Speaker 1: If she's posting about it online? To me, this is
- 23:04Speaker 1: the most serious or weirdest thing that she feels like
- 23:07Speaker 1: she has to put up with.
- 23:09Speaker 3: And it's not that bad. It could it be a.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Little weird, sure, but you know what, let the man
- 23:14Speaker 4: be weird about his socks or I tell you what,
- 23:16Speaker 4: do this anytime someone does something that you don't understand
- 23:21Speaker 4: why they do it, and you just start making wild
- 23:23Speaker 4: assumptions or talking about them to your friend group or
- 23:26Speaker 4: your parents, and you.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Know, making fun of them, teasing them, basically ask him why.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Maybe he's got a reason for it in his mind.
- 23:35Speaker 3: It makes sense.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Tara wrote this, didn't she?
- 23:41Speaker 3: She may have. I don't know. Is it signed text?
