- 0:37Speaker 2: Welcome to Heartwise. I'm glad everyone join us. This week
- 0:40Speaker 2: we're going to continue our discussion we started at last
- 0:43Speaker 2: time with Brenda Walsh, author of Batter to Bless. She
- 0:48Speaker 2: is a website that's Brenda Walsh dot com and she's
- 0:51Speaker 2: one of the leading ministers for God, and she heals
- 0:55Speaker 2: by helping people change relationships. And we're learning more and
- 0:58Speaker 2: more about our chemistry that you can change your your
- 1:02Speaker 2: body's chemistry, lower your blood pressure, lower your chance of
- 1:04Speaker 2: having a heart attack or stroke, or infections, or developing
- 1:07Speaker 2: a depression, sleeping better at night, keeping the weight off,
- 1:11Speaker 2: all by having relationships, which increases the strength of the
- 1:14Speaker 2: prefrontal cortex, our reasoning abilities, and turns down this stress
- 1:19Speaker 2: part called the limbic system, which makes adrenaline and cortisol
- 1:23Speaker 2: and all these lucatrians and inflammatory mediators and Brenda, could
- 1:27Speaker 2: you just catch those who might not have heard you
- 1:29Speaker 2: last week, catch us up some briefly about some what
- 1:32Speaker 2: you went through, and then we'll start talking about what
- 1:35Speaker 2: where God's taken you.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Now. Sure, last week I was sharing how I was
- 1:41Speaker 3: raised in a Christian home and yet found myself because
- 1:45Speaker 3: of choices, bad choices that I made in a very
- 1:48Speaker 3: violent marriage. And I went from very naive little girl
- 1:53Speaker 3: who was raised and such such wonderful Christian parents that
- 1:56Speaker 3: I was so naive and ended up in this violent
- 1:59Speaker 3: marriage I didn't even know. I had never before this,
- 2:02Speaker 3: I had even shared a tender kiss with a boyfriend. Ever,
- 2:05Speaker 3: I mean, I was that naive and to found myself
- 2:09Speaker 3: in a marriage where I never knew anything but rape.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I had never Every sexual encounter him was rape. It
- 2:15Speaker 3: was not something tender or wonderful. I didn't even know
- 2:18Speaker 3: a woman was supposed to have nice feelings at all.
- 2:22Speaker 3: And so I went from that horrible, violent marriage where
- 2:26Speaker 3: I found myself pleading for my life many times over.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I know that God saved my life. And yet God,
- 2:34Speaker 3: through his miraculous ways, answered my prayers when I pleaded
- 2:38Speaker 3: with him to save me, and save me and save
- 2:40Speaker 3: me and God did. He saved my life. He used
- 2:43Speaker 3: my sister in a very special way to get me
- 2:45Speaker 3: out of that horrible marriage, and he led me into
- 2:51Speaker 3: a different path. And it was a series of really
- 2:54Speaker 3: just learning to trust in Jesus. It was that helps
- 2:59Speaker 3: him my my heart, and it was also helping, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 3: God really speaking to me and sending the right people
- 3:06Speaker 3: in my life to help me learn that positive thinking
- 3:10Speaker 3: makes a huge difference in in healing and what God
- 3:14Speaker 3: can can do if you're willing to turn your life
- 3:18Speaker 3: over to Him. And so I really just am thankful
- 3:22Speaker 3: that to be alive, and thankful that God has given
- 3:25Speaker 3: me a ministry that I can serve him. I can
- 3:29Speaker 3: tell you since my story came out, I've literally heard
- 3:31Speaker 3: My book came out several years ago, and since that happened,
- 3:35Speaker 3: I literally have learned heard from thousands of women around
- 3:38Speaker 3: the world. I can't even tell you how many people
- 3:42Speaker 3: have told me that book has saved their life. There's
- 3:44Speaker 3: not a day go spy that I don't hear from
- 3:46Speaker 3: somebody that has read the book and either told me
- 3:49Speaker 3: that that has saved the life or it's helped them
- 3:52Speaker 3: in their own spiritual walk, or that it's really helped
- 3:56Speaker 3: them make a decision to have a you know, a
- 4:00Speaker 3: better walk with the Lord. And so that's Uh. There's
- 4:03Speaker 3: a lot of power in the healing name of Jesus.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And I can tell you anytime you're tempted to tell
- 4:08Speaker 3: yourself that you're you're this horrible, despicable person, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 3: God wants to remind us that we are daughters of
- 4:15Speaker 3: a king. And He's given me so many opportunities to
- 4:19Speaker 3: help others. And I had found doctor Markham that that
- 4:22Speaker 3: really the best way to help yourself is when you're
- 4:24Speaker 3: really helping others, when you're thinking about others, it always
- 4:28Speaker 3: is such a benefit and a blessing to yourself. I
- 4:32Speaker 3: speak at a lot of police organizations, I speak at
- 4:35Speaker 3: a lot of battered women's shelters, I speak to a
- 4:39Speaker 3: lot of I do a lot of seminars against domestic violence,
- 4:43Speaker 3: and I travel around the world doing that. I was
- 4:46Speaker 3: in Africa not long ago speaking to seven thousand women
- 4:51Speaker 3: and men. Uh, and I can tell you that the
- 4:54Speaker 3: Queen of Zulu was there in the front row and
- 4:58Speaker 3: cried like the baby as I gave testimony, and she said, please,
- 5:01Speaker 3: you must come back and and share your story with
- 5:07Speaker 3: with the people, the women in my country, she said,
- 5:09Speaker 3: because there is so much healing and and just knowing
- 5:12Speaker 3: what God can do. Because the message is if God
- 5:14Speaker 3: can do that for you, he can do that for me.
- 5:16Speaker 3: He can do that for us. And and really and
- 5:19Speaker 3: truly that is so. I have found that God has
- 5:22Speaker 3: led me into so many ways that I never would
- 5:24Speaker 3: have been able to help others. He's He's allowed me
- 5:27Speaker 3: the joy and the privilege of helping somebody else escape
- 5:31Speaker 3: the life of pain.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Brenda, you know right now, there's so many bad
- 5:35Speaker 2: relationships out there, and these bad relationships affect our stress, chemistry,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and these people might have health problems, but if you
- 5:42Speaker 2: look back a step or two, the real problem is
- 5:44Speaker 2: that relationship. And if you can restore some of these
- 5:47Speaker 2: good relationships. But I feel a lot of people they don't.
- 5:50Speaker 2: They don't they don't speak up, and they don't know
- 5:53Speaker 2: where to go.
- 5:53Speaker 3: For help exactly. Well, part of the reason is is that,
- 5:58Speaker 3: you know, the the mind kind of a battered woman
- 6:01Speaker 3: is so beaten down that she is so she feels
- 6:04Speaker 3: like she deserves you know, the I can tell you
- 6:07Speaker 3: that every blow I got, I wasn't you know, I
- 6:09Speaker 3: would I was like, you know, I should have. Maybe
- 6:12Speaker 3: he would scream at me because I took screen beams
- 6:14Speaker 3: and he wanted to tease, and I'd be you know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: every blow he was, you know, kicking me in my
- 6:19Speaker 3: ribs and throwing banging my head against the wall and
- 6:22Speaker 3: you know, smashing my face, and I would be thinking,
- 6:26Speaker 3: why didn't I fix screen beans? I should have known
- 6:28Speaker 3: he wanted to tease, you know. I mean I was
- 6:30Speaker 3: taking that in myself because people don't realize, you know
- 6:34Speaker 3: that if you if you don't consciously think you have
- 6:36Speaker 3: a better place to be or a way to get out,
- 6:39Speaker 3: you you sometimes need an advocate to help you know
- 6:42Speaker 3: that you can. And I, honestly I was. I wasn't
- 6:48Speaker 3: able mentally to walk out of there. It was it
- 6:51Speaker 3: was God using my sister to pick up the pieces
- 6:54Speaker 3: and physically didn't remove me from that bad situation because
- 6:57Speaker 3: I wasn't mentally able to do it. I believed I
- 7:01Speaker 3: deserve the worst. And that's that's where he had brought me.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Because many times women that are so abused, it's because
- 7:09Speaker 3: the man has so much mind control over her that
- 7:11Speaker 3: he is convinced, you know, he controls her.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And despite everything that you're going to it sounds
- 7:16Speaker 2: like you know, you were reaching for God.
- 7:18Speaker 4: He was reaching for you, absolutely.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And you know, God is just so amazing. I have
- 7:25Speaker 3: so much to praise him for, so much to thank
- 7:27Speaker 3: him for when I think to how many times that
- 7:29Speaker 3: I don't even know how many times that you know,
- 7:33Speaker 3: I was taken out to a shooting range and just
- 7:35Speaker 3: shot all around, and just the ringing in your ears
- 7:39Speaker 3: from from the sound of those gun blaps are so
- 7:42Speaker 3: bad that for weeks afterwards, I'd have terrible migraine headaches
- 7:44Speaker 3: and I would have that ringing that would not stop
- 7:47Speaker 3: day or night, you know, just in your ears. And
- 7:50Speaker 3: most people that went through that should not even they
- 7:54Speaker 3: should have tremendous hearing loss. I think you would, you
- 7:56Speaker 3: wouldn't you think? And and yet I after I left,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and I was living with my mom and dad, and
- 8:03Speaker 3: I was having those horrible headaches, and I would having
- 8:06Speaker 3: terrible nightmares. I'd wake up the entire house at night
- 8:09Speaker 3: just screaming because I was having these terrible nightmares. And
- 8:12Speaker 3: I knew, you know, many times I was being raped
- 8:14Speaker 3: in the nightmare, or I was chasing because he was
- 8:17Speaker 3: chasing me, he was going to kill me. You know,
- 8:19Speaker 3: I'd wake up in a total sweat, just sobbing and screaming.
- 8:22Speaker 3: My dad would run in there, and I'd wake up
- 8:24Speaker 3: the whole house. It was every night. And finally, after
- 8:27Speaker 3: about three months of this, my dad came in one night,
- 8:29Speaker 3: and after checking the house to make sure that it
- 8:34Speaker 3: was only a dream, he scooped me up in his
- 8:36Speaker 3: arms and he said, we are going to rebuke the devil.
- 8:39Speaker 3: He says, I am tired of him taking control. And
- 8:42Speaker 3: he lifted me up to our heavenly Father in prayer
- 8:45Speaker 3: and said, Lord, we rebuked the enemy. And he claimed
- 8:49Speaker 3: Bible texts, and he said, I asked that these demons,
- 8:53Speaker 3: these nightmares, he'd taken from her, and that her mind
- 8:56Speaker 3: completely be restored and dedicated to you. And do you
- 8:59Speaker 3: know from that moment on, I've never had another nightmare. Wow,
- 9:03Speaker 3: I've never lost another night's sleep because of it. And
- 9:07Speaker 3: when I went to have my hearing check, which I
- 9:10Speaker 3: was supposed to schedule to go that next week, because
- 9:13Speaker 3: I'd had such bad I could hardly hear anymore, and
- 9:16Speaker 3: my ringing in my ears it had been so bad,
- 9:20Speaker 3: my hearing was perfect. Wow, I had I mean, it
- 9:23Speaker 3: was absolutely perfect and I have never had ringing in
- 9:26Speaker 3: my ears since.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Wow, that's something just to be praiseful. Well, we're about
- 9:29Speaker 2: ready to go to break right now. We've been talking
- 9:31Speaker 2: with Brenda Walsh, who's one of her many books is
- 9:34Speaker 2: Battered to Bless and you can get this book by
- 9:37Speaker 2: going to her website at Brenda Walsh dot com. You
- 9:40Speaker 2: might want to look at all the many other things
- 9:42Speaker 2: she's doing. We're going to talk about that when we
- 9:44Speaker 2: come back from break. She's giving us two prescriptions to
- 9:48Speaker 2: change our chemistry today. If you're one that's out there
- 9:51Speaker 2: that might be in a bad relationship, might not even
- 9:54Speaker 2: know it, might not even admit it. She's given us
- 9:56Speaker 2: two things so far that we'll change your chemistry. One
- 9:59Speaker 2: that relationship with God that can do mighty things. And
- 10:03Speaker 2: the second chemistry change she's given us in serving others.
- 10:07Speaker 2: When serving others, there's something about that that helps our
- 10:10Speaker 2: chemistry doing better. After this break, we're gonna come back
- 10:13Speaker 2: and we're going to learn more from Brenda Walsh and
- 10:15Speaker 2: how she's helping people and how she might be able
- 10:17Speaker 2: to help you out there. If you're going through a
- 10:19Speaker 2: similar situation, stay with us. Our website is Heartwisemistries dot org.
- 10:24Speaker 2: You're listening to Heartwise, We'll be right back.
- 10:43Speaker 1: In his book The Ultimate Prescription, now available from Tendale
- 10:47Speaker 1: House Publishers, cardiologist doctor James Markham writes, I was reading
- 10:52Speaker 1: a recent poll of men who were asked who they
- 10:54Speaker 1: thought was the most influential male in the world today.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Number one on the list was Don Draper, a character
- 11:00Speaker 1: on a television series He's not even a real person.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Number two was Usain Bolton, Olympic athlete who many believe
- 11:06Speaker 1: defines the true spirit of competition, and President Barack Obama
- 11:10Speaker 1: slipped in is number three. This is just another example
- 11:13Speaker 1: of how the media has the power to create an
- 11:15Speaker 1: influential character, market him as an ideal to the world,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and affect the minds of a large segment of the population.
- 11:23Speaker 1: That same media is doing the same thing when it
- 11:26Speaker 1: comes to telling us how to build and maintain optimum health.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Doctor Markham's book The Ultimate Prescription is available from Amazon
- 11:33Speaker 1: dot com and wherever quality books are sold. To learn
- 11:37Speaker 1: more about health from a biblical perspective, visit Heartwiseministries dot org.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'd like to take a moment to invite you to
- 11:45Speaker 1: visit the Heartwise Ministries team on the Internet. Stop by
- 11:48Speaker 1: Heartwiseministries dot org and discover for yourself that optimum health
- 11:52Speaker 1: is not the result of favorable genes, of the right
- 11:55Speaker 1: combination of pharmaceuticals. No, optimum health is the result of
- 11:59Speaker 1: making the right shows each and every moment of each
- 12:02Speaker 1: and every day. If you're like me, you're probably a
- 12:04Speaker 1: little confused about what the media and marketing moguls are
- 12:07Speaker 1: feeding us. There are a lot of potions, pills and
- 12:10Speaker 1: promises out there. Some work, some don't, and some are
- 12:13Speaker 1: downright dangerous. Whom do you believe? Whom do you trust?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Board certified cardiologist Doctor James Markham, founder director of Heartwise Ministries, says,
- 12:21Speaker 1: there is a source of information that can be trusted
- 12:24Speaker 1: and followed. That's the Bible, God's Owner's Manual as he
- 12:29Speaker 1: calls it. For us. All the information you find on
- 12:32Speaker 1: Heartwisemanistries dot org is information backed by biblical truth. It
- 12:36Speaker 1: can be trusted because God can be trusted. So stop by,
- 12:40Speaker 1: won't you? That's Heartwiseministries dot org.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Welcome back to Heartwise. This program's literally heard all over
- 12:54Speaker 2: the world, from the United States to Australia to our
- 12:57Speaker 2: friends in Guam and the Philippines and now going over
- 13:01Speaker 2: to France and the Bahamas, and we want to thank
- 13:04Speaker 2: you for joining in in what we do at Hartwise.
- 13:06Speaker 2: We let people know there's a place for modern medicine.
- 13:09Speaker 2: We also I treat modern medicine as a cardiology, so
- 13:12Speaker 2: I mainly treat symptoms. There's a place and there's a
- 13:15Speaker 2: place for that. There's a place for lifestyle, living healthy.
- 13:18Speaker 2: But at the top of the healing pyramids is that
- 13:21Speaker 2: relationship with God. And that's what Brenda's been talking about today.
- 13:24Speaker 2: We're here with Brenda while she's authored Battered to Blessed,
- 13:29Speaker 2: and she's now no longer battered, she's in the blessed stage. Now.
- 13:33Speaker 2: She has a website that reaches the whole world. That's
- 13:36Speaker 2: Brenda Walsh dot com. We want you to go to
- 13:39Speaker 2: her website. But more than that, there might be someone
- 13:42Speaker 2: out there that's experiencing some of the same problems that
- 13:45Speaker 2: Brenda has.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Well.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I want to tell you that when the mind is
- 13:48Speaker 2: being stressed and battered and hurt from whatever thing, whether
- 13:51Speaker 2: it's be fear or anger or abuse, there's chemical reactions
- 13:55Speaker 2: that could damage your body. So if you're someone out
- 13:58Speaker 2: there that's undergoing these things get help, and Brenda tell
- 14:02Speaker 2: us some of the ways that you've been through the
- 14:04Speaker 2: batter part. Now you're blessing others, you're serving as a
- 14:07Speaker 2: chemical treatment. What are some of the things you're doing
- 14:10Speaker 2: now to help change women's chemistry and reaching out to
- 14:13Speaker 2: the world and letting them know about God's love.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Well, I'm really blessed to be a part of the
- 14:19Speaker 3: Angels Broadcasting Network. I host and produce a program there
- 14:24Speaker 3: that airs every day called Kid's Time, where I'm reaching
- 14:26Speaker 3: out to children and all over the world. And I
- 14:30Speaker 3: also have many opportunities to witness to women. I travel
- 14:35Speaker 3: all over to different countries and I have seminars and
- 14:39Speaker 3: I really talk about escaping domestic violence and helping women
- 14:44Speaker 3: understand that it's not their fault. But no one deserves
- 14:48Speaker 3: to get beaten abused, And you don't even have to
- 14:51Speaker 3: have the severity of you know, some people say, well,
- 14:55Speaker 3: I wasn't abused like you were. You know, every one
- 14:58Speaker 3: of us goes through our own type of everyone's life
- 15:02Speaker 3: is different. We have different amounts of hurts and pains
- 15:05Speaker 3: and uh, our hearts hurt differently. But it doesn't matter
- 15:10Speaker 3: if it's physical abuse or emotional abuse, it's still abuse,
- 15:13Speaker 3: and it's still effect. Sometimes emotional abuse alone is equally
- 15:19Speaker 3: as bad. You know, it's it's uh. You know, anytime
- 15:22Speaker 3: someone convinces you in your mind that you're not worthy
- 15:26Speaker 3: to live, that's pretty serious. And so I have an
- 15:30Speaker 3: opportunity to not just to my books to reach women,
- 15:34Speaker 3: but also to speak and I do women's uh Prairie
- 15:37Speaker 3: treats and women's ministries retreats, and and I literally have
- 15:40Speaker 3: traveled all over the world and had a chance. And
- 15:42Speaker 3: one thing that I then, I know that those through
- 15:46Speaker 3: you know, all nationalities, it doesn't matter. Pain is pain,
- 15:50Speaker 3: doctor Markham, it doesn't matter what nationality you are. Our
- 15:53Speaker 3: heart's all, you know, hurt the same way and uh
- 15:57Speaker 3: and and they also heal the same way. And I
- 16:00Speaker 3: can tell you that it's God's given me a message
- 16:03Speaker 3: of hope because He in these He really and truly.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's just loving them to Jesus to share with them
- 16:10Speaker 3: that they are worthy, to let him know how much
- 16:12Speaker 3: God loves them when they feel like nobody else does.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And it's not in any woman's best interest to stay
- 16:21Speaker 3: in a marriage where she's been physically beaten down. But
- 16:25Speaker 3: you know, I help a lot of women that you know,
- 16:28Speaker 3: feel like they have no one to let them know
- 16:31Speaker 3: and that that they do have someone because God is
- 16:35Speaker 3: never He's a he's a prayer way, and that there
- 16:38Speaker 3: is hope, there is releaef, there is lighteth into the
- 16:42Speaker 3: tunnel when so many women when they're in just the situations,
- 16:46Speaker 3: can't see a light at into the tunnel.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and so many people when they're in a bad situation,
- 16:52Speaker 2: they pick bad coping mechanisms, bad ways to escape, whether
- 16:56Speaker 2: it be drugs or alcohol or bad habits. What are
- 16:59Speaker 2: some ways that you would recommend if of woman or
- 17:03Speaker 2: anyone's in an abusive situation, what are some things that
- 17:06Speaker 2: you can do to help them maybe pull through the situation.
- 17:09Speaker 2: You've talked about serving God, you've talked about that relationship,
- 17:13Speaker 2: you've talked about serving others. But what are some other
- 17:15Speaker 2: coping mechanisms and healthy ways that might help someone that's
- 17:18Speaker 2: listening out there today?
- 17:21Speaker 3: Well, if you're are you speaking somebody that's.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Out of the situation and someone that's someone that's in
- 17:29Speaker 4: that situation wanting to now, Yeah, that's in a bad situation,
- 17:33Speaker 4: they're looking for some way to help themselves.
- 17:35Speaker 2: That they don't know how to cope.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Well, one of the things I do is I asked
- 17:39Speaker 3: them to find someone they trust, whether that's their pastor
- 17:42Speaker 3: whether that's their their neighbor, whether that's a family member
- 17:45Speaker 3: that they trust that they can go to and say, look,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I need help out of the situation. And go to
- 17:51Speaker 3: the person that you know can can be there for you.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And sometimes it is just you know, a pastor or
- 17:58Speaker 3: a pastor's wife, or a name or anyone, a best friend,
- 18:01Speaker 3: somebody that you can actually talk to and say, get
- 18:04Speaker 3: me help. And the other thing when you are so
- 18:08Speaker 3: your world is so dark. I have found this to
- 18:11Speaker 3: be true that music, and you know, singing praises to
- 18:14Speaker 3: God is always a weapon against discouragement. It is very
- 18:18Speaker 3: hard to be depressed when you're listening to uplifting songs
- 18:23Speaker 3: about God. And so I know that there are times
- 18:25Speaker 3: when I was fighting discouragement and that enemy wants to
- 18:28Speaker 3: just rub my past in my face and see all
- 18:31Speaker 3: my failures and remind me what a horrible person I am.
- 18:34Speaker 3: You know, when you put on that music and you
- 18:36Speaker 3: are singing, actually singing praises, doesn't matter if you have
- 18:39Speaker 3: a good voice or not. You just sing right along
- 18:41Speaker 3: those praises to Jesus and it will lift you out
- 18:44Speaker 3: of that. You can't be discouraged when you're singing praises
- 18:47Speaker 3: to Jesus. So that's another way to help reading your
- 18:50Speaker 3: Bible is the way out. Spend time with the Lord
- 18:53Speaker 3: on your knees and don't do all the talking. Be
- 18:55Speaker 3: quiet sometimes and listen. And the more you spend on
- 19:00Speaker 3: time with the Lord, the more you'll know his voice.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I get people saying that to me all the time.
- 19:03Speaker 3: How do I know if God's talking to me? Well,
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'll say it's it's like if you have someone that
- 19:09Speaker 3: calls you once or twice a month, you're not going
- 19:12Speaker 3: to recognize their voice probably, But if you have someone
- 19:14Speaker 3: that calls you every day voice, you're going to say, oh, okay,
- 19:19Speaker 3: I know that, and it's very much yeah exactly. And
- 19:22Speaker 3: so when you the more time you spend with the Lord,
- 19:25Speaker 3: the more you're going to know his voice. And I
- 19:27Speaker 3: have been praying recently too that God would make me
- 19:30Speaker 3: instant to his will, that I not second gets what
- 19:33Speaker 3: he says. And so I've got I've had so many
- 19:35Speaker 3: wonderful opportunities to reach out Minister to somebody just because
- 19:40Speaker 3: I'm willing to listen to that, to that inner voice,
- 19:43Speaker 3: that the Holy Spirit impressing me to reach out to someone.
- 19:46Speaker 3: And the other day I was traveling and sitting next
- 19:49Speaker 3: to somebody and I just felt impressed to to talk
- 19:54Speaker 3: to the woman and I just said, I just wanted
- 19:55Speaker 3: to let you know that how much Jesus loves you.
- 19:59Speaker 3: And I said, you look like you need a friend,
- 20:01Speaker 3: and I wanted to know I'm here for you. And
- 20:02Speaker 3: she just looked up. And when she looked up, her
- 20:05Speaker 3: eyes all black and blue. She was all and it
- 20:07Speaker 3: was and I was like, Hi, she either she's in
- 20:10Speaker 3: a bad accident or a bad relationship. And she poured
- 20:13Speaker 3: her heart up to me. I was able to pray
- 20:15Speaker 3: with her. She was in a terrible relationship and she
- 20:18Speaker 3: had managed to run, but now she was second getting it.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Should she go back? Should she go? And I was
- 20:23Speaker 3: right there, right where God placed me at a time
- 20:26Speaker 3: to help her and give her the courage she needed
- 20:28Speaker 3: to escape that bad situation. And it's amazing you. I
- 20:33Speaker 3: walked out of there, thank Him, Thank you Jeeves for
- 20:35Speaker 3: putting me at the right place at the right time.
- 20:38Speaker 3: And God will do that for all of us. And
- 20:40Speaker 3: when you're reaching out to others and you're helping somebody else,
- 20:43Speaker 3: it's hard to be discourage too. You know, sometimes your
- 20:46Speaker 3: own problems don't seem as bad when you see somebody
- 20:48Speaker 3: else's and they're just knowing that God used you to
- 20:51Speaker 3: help them. It's such a spiritual high.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Brenda, we've got a few minutes left you. What kind
- 20:56Speaker 2: of projects are you working on right now that we
- 20:58Speaker 2: might tell our listeners.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Well, I've written several books. As you know, I'm a
- 21:03Speaker 3: Christian author and speaker, and I've written several books besides
- 21:07Speaker 3: that or to Bless, I've written a book that's kind
- 21:09Speaker 3: of a sequel called Passionate Prayer and really talks about
- 21:13Speaker 3: it's my own personal answer to prayer stories, my own
- 21:16Speaker 3: personal witnessing stories. And i also have a book that
- 21:21Speaker 3: I really encourage people when they pray to pray claiming
- 21:25Speaker 3: Bible promises, and it's a small little book that to
- 21:28Speaker 3: help you to do that. It's called Passionate for Promises.
- 21:31Speaker 3: And I'm currently working on a devotional book that is
- 21:35Speaker 3: different than a lot of other devotional books where its
- 21:37Speaker 3: topic driven instead of you open the page and you
- 21:41Speaker 3: get the devotion whatever is there for the day. You
- 21:43Speaker 3: can look up what you need for that day for
- 21:45Speaker 3: your devotion. So it's topic driven and so I'm busy,
- 21:48Speaker 3: hard at work at that. I just released a series
- 21:50Speaker 3: of bedtime story books for children, a five volume series,
- 21:54Speaker 3: and I'm working on the next five volumes. There'll be
- 21:57Speaker 3: a ten volume set, and they're just a non doctrine
- 22:00Speaker 3: character building stories for children. I really want kids to know.
- 22:03Speaker 3: We can't tell kids enough how much Jesus loves them, right,
- 22:07Speaker 3: and we really want them still his characteristics in them.
- 22:10Speaker 2: You know.
- 22:10Speaker 3: It's teaching our kids to be honest and to be kind,
- 22:13Speaker 3: to be respectful of others, and also, you know, to
- 22:16Speaker 3: help your kids have good self esteem. I think one
- 22:19Speaker 3: of the best gifts we can give our children is
- 22:21Speaker 3: help them have a really healthy self esteem. Absolute, And
- 22:25Speaker 3: I think that's what we could do for each one
- 22:27Speaker 3: of us, you know. And when we lift each other up,
- 22:30Speaker 3: when we affirm each other, when we learn to love
- 22:33Speaker 3: each other more and judge each other less, wouldn't this
- 22:36Speaker 3: world be a better place?
- 22:37Speaker 2: Absolutely? And we're sort of running out of time today.
- 22:40Speaker 2: But at the heart of health is love. And Brenda's
- 22:43Speaker 2: been talking about this. Doctor Walsh the doctor that heals
- 22:47Speaker 2: through helping people change their chemistries by developing relationships, learning
- 22:52Speaker 2: to love, learning to live. She's going to be part
- 22:54Speaker 2: of our ministry at Heartwives Ministries. You'll be able to
- 22:57Speaker 2: go to our website soon. She'll write a segment where
- 23:00Speaker 2: you can connect with her resources. We know she can't
- 23:02Speaker 2: be everywhere, but you can connect with her resources, her
- 23:06Speaker 2: books or other material. When her devotional gets out there,
- 23:09Speaker 2: we'll make sure you can get a hold of that.
- 23:11Speaker 2: You can go to our website if you want questions,
- 23:13Speaker 2: If you have specific things, we'll make sure they get
- 23:15Speaker 2: to her. So Brenda, who has this specific ministry specific talents,
- 23:21Speaker 2: can minister to you. And we want to thank you
- 23:23Speaker 2: Brenda for joining us today on Heartwise. Again. That's Brenda Walsh.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Her website is Brenda Walsh dot com. At the heart
- 23:32Speaker 2: of health is love and Brenda's showing this every day
- 23:34Speaker 2: in her ministry. She's going to be part of what
- 23:36Speaker 2: we're doing at Heartwise, and we want to remember that
- 23:38Speaker 2: there's a place for modern medicine, but that's relationship with
- 23:42Speaker 2: God is where true healing actually curs. Thank you for
- 23:45Speaker 2: joining us on Heartwise today. I'm your host doctor James Barkham,
- 23:49Speaker 2: wishing you all the health in the world.
