- 0:00people who don't believe in magic are easier to control.
- 0:03Can we flip that paradigm, which I feel
- 0:05you are part of that flip, where we choose love over logic, we choose magic over mind,
- 0:10we choose resonance over rationality, resonance over rationality.
- 0:14Oh, I love this.
- 0:15Okay, so it's
- 0:25you are a magical soul mystical divine stepping into a more deep and intimate relationship with
- 0:33the unseen world and as you step deeper and deeper into your spirituality one of the wounds that can
- 0:39come up that is ancient that is linked to colonialism it is linked to patriarchy it is
- 0:44linked to capitalism and these systems of power dominance and control it is linked to anti-blackness
- 0:50it is linked to homophobia transphobia all of these things where systems don't want to acknowledge
- 0:57the sacredness of beings especially the sacredness of women the sacredness of black people the
- 1:03sacredness of brown people asian people indigenous peoples the sacredness of queer people the
- 1:08sacredness of trans people like the sacredness of fat people all of these people who have this
- 1:18power to be subversive to the powers that be that want to control and dominate and indeed do
- 1:24so as you step further and further into your spirituality something that you can come up
- 1:29against is downplaying or dimming your spiritual gifts and light out of fear and this fear is so
- 1:36valid because it has a historical context we know that with colonialism one of the first forms of
- 1:43oppression of subjugation that the colonizers did to us was to remove and to destroy or try to
- 1:50destroy our spiritual practices our spiritual sacred objects our spiritual forms of divination
- 1:56across the world from south africa what is now south africa namibia nigeria mexico indonesia
- 2:04Malaysia, Australia, what is now these things, you know all of these Brazil and then what is now the
- 2:10United States of America, Europe because there was also the oppression of women in these systems and
- 2:16so it's very important for us to understand the systemic context that makes us feel like it's not
- 2:22safe to be seen as a spiritual person in this world that this form of persecution where there
- 2:30was the persecution of women in terms of the labeling of witchcraft and the conflation that
- 2:35that is something evil or wrong versus a sacred and ancient practice across all systems of being
- 2:41we've had people who have a special connection to the divine to the unseen to plants to the trees
- 2:48to the earth so this is a really sacred way of relating to reality that you have come here to
- 2:55embody and in your process I just felt called to share this message with you so that we can really
- 3:02root our understanding in a deeper history that I feel like you already know but it's just sometimes
- 3:07fun to listen to so I think it's important to tie our understanding to this to a greater context
- 3:12so that when we do step into our mysticism our magic and allow ourselves to be seen in the way
- 3:18that we see the world because I feel like you've been stepping into more and more forms of openness
- 3:23to different forms of spiritual practice, understanding.
- 3:27You are opening up so many different portals in your heart and your consciousness
- 3:31as to what you see this reality as.
- 3:33You're opening yourself up to many different forms of faith,
- 3:37forms of relating to what we cannot see, relating to the unmanifest world,
- 3:41which we know is tied to the manifest world.
- 3:43And this is why I also think it's really important to understand this.
- 3:45Why would you try to control people's relationship to spirituality?
- 3:48because spirituality governs our relationship to what does not yet exist.
- 3:54So if you can control people's relationship to what does not yet exist,
- 3:57you can control what they then are able to manifest.
- 4:00So I think it's very important to tie what we're experiencing
- 4:02to a deeper and greater context
- 4:04so that we can also feel ourselves as part of this lineage of people who have resisted
- 4:09because we all have ancestors who have resisted the forcefulness,
- 4:14the dominance of these systems
- 4:17and who have said, we're still going to practice our traditions.
- 4:20We're still going to speak our languages.
- 4:22We're still going to resist and reclaim our magic and step into our magic.
- 4:28And so when we allow ourselves to connect the fact that we don't want to be seen as too woo-woo,
- 4:35you know, where does that come from?
- 4:36Even that language and the way it's used to demean,
- 4:39it's this idea that what is quote-unquote rational or logical,
- 4:42what is quote-unquote scientifically proven or backed,
- 4:47is more legitimate which is the colonial paradigm it's so tied to the paradigm of trying to control
- 4:55how we see experience validate or invalidate reality and we know that the beginnings of
- 5:03science are all tied to different forms of colonialism and anti-blackness we also know
- 5:08that science has been extremely not favorable in its origins to women to queer people to people
- 5:14who are not who are not the dominant norm and then what these systems have also done is repress
- 5:20this quality within the collective spirit this quality that seeks more magic and we can see this
- 5:27in the way that children are treated the way that children are conditioned out of their imagination
- 5:33the way that the society conditions children to fit into boxes rules rankings systems and this
- 5:41is where capitalism also comes in because of course if we don't believe in magic if we don't
- 5:46believe and make believe we're easier to control because where they create doors where systems
- 5:53create doors they want us to see a door but if we believe in magic we'll see a portal so people who
- 5:59don't believe in magic are easier to control because they have separated themselves from the
- 6:06mystical within them they've separated themselves from the inexplainable aspect of reality and
- 6:11therefore they become more like a machine because a machine cannot have faith a machine cannot
- 6:16believe in what it isn't told to believe you input something into the system and that's exactly what
- 6:21the system takes as real so the more that we are removed from this mystical magical understanding
- 6:28the more we are more like machines and the more we are easier to control and to control ourselves
- 6:33the less we listen to intuition because we don't view that as a legitimate form of knowledge the
- 6:38less we listen to our cyclicality the less we listen to signs signals conversation with the
- 6:44divine the less we believe our lives get to feel magical because to believe in magic is to believe
- 6:50life gets to be magical but how can they oppress you if you think life could be magical because
- 6:55then you're going to be like but then why am i being oppressed and you're going to rebel
- 6:59so they need us not to believe in magic by they because i don't want to be like a conspiracy
- 7:03theorist i literally mean the systems of power dominance and control such as white supremacy
- 7:08colonialism capitalism and so on and such forth patriarchy cis hetero patriarchy and so on and so
- 7:14forth so there is a beautiful rebellion i feel that i observe in the collective spirit where we
- 7:22are reaching for a return to spirituality where we are reaching for something beyond
- 7:32logic rationality something beyond right and wrong something beyond
- 7:41something that feels soulless and towards something that feels soulful
- 7:45and even on tiktok or on social media in conversations with people i feel like a lot
- 7:51of the conversations that i observe or that i'm having is people seeing themselves become
- 7:56have these spiritual awakenings we also have these tools to share information so there was a time when
- 8:02a lot of the spiritual wisdom was gatekept and now there's a little bit more sharing of
- 8:11breakthroughs people are sharing near-death experiences and what they've seen people are
- 8:15sharing first-hand experiences of you know experiencing past lives people are sharing
- 8:23the wisdom that they're receiving from different practices and these shares these and these stories
- 8:28have always existed it's just that now we have some tools that do help us democratize the
- 8:33information and so while information used to be passed you know mouth to mouth information used
- 8:39to be passed through oral tradition we're sort of forming a sort of digital oral tradition which I
- 8:45think is really sacred and beautiful so something that i think is very important is to
- 8:55ask yourself in this collective rising we feel like there's the rising of the feminine
- 9:01there's the rising of queerness and people rejecting forms of heteronormativity okay
- 9:09there's the rising of there's a rising of a desire to be in touch with topics like purpose
- 9:16topics like meaning and i know that of course in the global context this is a huge privilege to
- 9:21even be thinking about this and i'm so i'm not supposing i'm not pretending like this is just
- 9:27everyone's reality as they're shifting to purpose absolutely not but we do feel you can feel like
- 9:32when you go on social media when i mean we can feel that something is shifting in the consciousness
- 9:37It's not only now, it's been happening, but I feel like we can see it in what people are reaching for.
- 9:43We see this rise of tarot readings on social media and channeling and this beautiful reclamation of our spiritual roots.
- 9:53But I know that in that process, there can be a lot of fear.
- 9:57A lot of the people that I work with will have the fear of being seen as spiritual, the fear of being seen in their spirituality.
- 10:04the fear of speaking just how quote-unquote spiritual they are and when we feel that
- 10:10can we ask ourselves if the collective really is rising towards more love towards more healing
- 10:19towards more mysticism more magic what do what role do i want to play in that rising
- 10:28something that colonialism aims to do is remove your capacity to see certain groups of people as
- 10:35sacred this is also what patriarchy does this is what all these systems do so what colonialism does
- 10:41is say okay these colonizers first of all colonialism is a spiritual and economic and
- 10:49political and all these things but it is also a spiritual
- 11:00my brain said disorder because isn't it funny they call like a lot of different forms of mental
- 11:05health disorders but they never call wanting to dominate oppress pillage destroy people a disorder
- 11:12imagine that so there was a spiritual dis-ease in the colonizer before they even got to
- 11:19the continent of Africa what we call it now before they even got to those places I used to believe
- 11:26colonialism like started you know in for example in South Africa they always teach you in 1652
- 11:34that's when Jan van Riebeck quote-unquote discovered but like colonized South Africa
- 11:39the Dutch colonialism okay but really there was something in that man before he even got here
- 11:47that was not okay because when they got to these lands they didn't see sacredness they didn't see
- 11:55something worth protecting they didn't see beings worth revering and learning from and understanding
- 12:02they saw an opportunity that opportunity that they saw was in their spirit to see before they
- 12:08even got here so colonialism didn't start for example in south africa in 1652 it started in
- 12:13the spirit of the colonizer before they even came something was wrong in them something was not right
- 12:22and we are all now living the after effects of that oh my word i'm so afraid i'm not recording
- 12:27the after effects of that not rightness so we i think it's important to ask what was in the spirit
- 12:36of these people such that they were able to inflict such catastrophe and continue to do so
- 12:43on human beings because it's the same thing that was in their spirit that was also in their spirit
- 12:47to oppress their own women to oppress people who looked like them as well because that's also a
- 12:52part of the story the witchcraft the witch trials the witch hunts it's not as though the women in
- 13:00that society were revered and protected either so the way that they treated black people brown
- 13:07people indigenous people asian people that was in them and i think we need to understand that
- 13:14at a spiritual level they were in spiritual crisis because why would you do that to another being
- 13:19why would you do that to a human being but even the way that they treat animals we know that a lot
- 13:23of indigenous systems animals are treated with a sense of reverence and when there is sacrifice
- 13:32and slaughtering and so forth which i don't i just don't believe animals are there for our
- 13:37consumption but like i don't believe actually wait but i i just for i mean for me i believe
- 13:43in the freedom and liberation of all beings and so i believe that animals should be free of all
- 13:50suffering inflicted upon them um unnecessarily like if a being doesn't have to suffer i believe
- 13:55that they shouldn't but i do see a huge difference in how different indigenous peoples practice
- 14:03these forms of ritual versus how the colonizer and how capitalism like factory farming you know
- 14:09what i mean so i digress so if the issue is spiritual then the solution is spiritual
- 14:17so i think we can all observe that what we need is a spiritual revolution
- 14:23as well as i'm not saying only i'm not only saying this we're very
- 14:26multidisciplinary thinkers here but i feel like the root starts in the spirit
- 14:33and you are part of our return to that but what why did i say this this is fun because i'm allowing
- 14:40myself to embody a different energy of speaking which i haven't done in a long time and i'm proud
- 14:46of myself for giving myself the space to do both so this feels like a return to an aspect of my
- 14:53podcast that i haven't been in in some time so that feels nice that feels nice um so why okay
- 15:04so the so so colonialism seeks to repress and so when we allow ourselves to be seen
- 15:12in our full expression that's such a beautiful act of rebellion of being the opposite of what
- 15:19was in that colonial spirit of being generous of being part of a lineage that came before us
- 15:24of people who've done the same we know that there's been a huge role across the diaspora of
- 15:30black orators speakers
- 15:36whether they be storytellers whether they be priests medicine people shaman sangomas people
- 15:44who are spiritual leaders and some of them now some of the black artists now exist in the christian
- 15:52church systems and communities and these are very important community leaders and community speakers
- 16:00And we know that when they serve the light, they're extremely powerful in a good way.
- 16:04And of course, when they serve the darkness, when spiritual faith leaders are exploitative, extractive of their communities, making them pay for things or making them, you know, manipulating their spiritual power or their spiritual institutional power to exploit the community, obviously that's terrible.
- 16:21But it's like the same gift can be used for such light as well, where we know so many civil rights leaders and then freedom fighters and many different forms of liberators were part of these systems where people would gather and these beautiful sermons would be given.
- 16:37So we have a history.
- 16:39As you step into more and more of your expression of your spirituality, know that there are people who are longing to see you embody that and to see you step into a space that they feel nervous or reluctant to do so themselves.
- 16:56The spiritual revolution needs spiritual leaders and a leader doesn't have to look like how we traditionally think that it had to look like.
- 17:05so if what is required for us to heal the world also really includes a spiritual kind of healing
- 17:14then us sharing that with the world is part of how we recreate the world that we recreate the
- 17:20world in the image in the reflection of what we want to see in the world i want to see people
- 17:25be allowed to be as divinely colorfully mystical as they want to be to be divining with forces
- 17:34and spirits and ancestors to live a magical existence.
- 17:43When I think of what is the most divine,
- 17:46utopic possibility for all of us,
- 17:48it does involve spiritual freedom.
- 17:51It involves creative freedom,
- 17:52the freedom to create whatever we want,
- 17:54to have the resources and the time,
- 17:56the shared space and community to create whatever we want.
- 18:00It's to feel nourished at every level.
- 18:02so we feel nourished literally that everyone has abundant food because we live on an abundant planet
- 18:09so we all have the nourishment that we need not just some of us and then it's nourishment of the
- 18:15spirit that we are given beauty everyone deserves access to beauty and we know this because the
- 18:22earth told us so because the earth is so beautiful in a way that in and of itself doesn't discriminate
- 18:28but now with what's it called the uh with you know the way that the capitalist system has unfolded
- 18:35with capitalism and white supremacy and all these systems beauty is then um sequestered
- 18:42who gets to access everyday beauty nourishment of the spirit through music and through art everyone
- 18:49deserves access to those things so that deserving that everyone deserves that's a commentary on
- 18:58sacredness that humans people life is sacred and should be treated as such so the more we reclaim
- 19:05that the more we embody that the more we speak to that there's going to be a beautiful ripple effect
- 19:14that's how i feel like we create heaven on earth because what heaven did as a concept is delay
- 19:22when we could be living that now.
- 19:24We could create that now for all of us.
- 19:28And I feel like you're part of that creation.
- 19:32We're living in a time of what they call artificial intelligence,
- 19:35which we know is also colonialism because it's not artificial.
- 19:38Who were the gig workers training those models,
- 19:43moderating and having to see horrendous things
- 19:46in order for the model to understand?
- 19:50African people.
- 19:51African workers.
- 19:52It extremely follows the colonial roots of value creation and value exploitation.
- 20:00People in Kenya, that was a huge nation of where the data centers are.
- 20:05I think also Uganda, but I could be incorrect.
- 20:08Underpaid.
- 20:10Contract work, so very, very precarious.
- 20:14Very extreme standards in terms of their output standards,
- 20:19treated like machines, treated like cogs in a machine,
- 20:22not treated as sacred,
- 20:24versus the CEOs in Silicon Valley,
- 20:28the board members,
- 20:30the faces of AI like Sam Altman, for example.
- 20:34And so what is that?
- 20:36But a colonial relationship.
- 20:38And then we know their raw ingredients.
- 20:40Where do they come from?
- 20:41We know what's happening in the Congo, free Congo.
- 20:45We know that the materials required
- 20:49come from the African continent, to my knowledge, maybe also other continents,
- 20:55but who's benefiting from those raw materials?
- 20:59It's an extractive relationship.
- 21:01And then we also
- 21:01know that colonialism involves destroying the earth, the sacredness of the earth.
- 21:06And we also
- 21:06know that patriarchy, often women are people who, women and queer people and non-binary people are
- 21:13the people who are often shepherds and stewards of a sort of divine relationship with earth
- 21:21now there are also incredible men who do the same so it's not it's of course they're incredible
- 21:25shamans and they're incredible men in the world who are stewards of the earth as well so we know
- 21:33that this is all tied to colonialism it's all tied to it and what i was saying was ai obviously is
- 21:40destroying also the earth not only in terms of the extraction but then the data centers
- 21:45the pollution involved and then also coloniality in the sense that where these data centers are
- 21:53are often in black and brown poor communities in the u.s i think all the data centers are in the
- 21:58u.s i may be wrong but i know that it is tied to anti-blackness it is tied to classism the anti-poor
- 22:07world that we live in the systems that are designed to exploit and not see as sacred
- 22:17the very people who the whole system is built on exploiting so just many layered beliefs but
- 22:26just know that your spirituality deserves to be seen deserves to be witnessed and there is a
- 22:34beautiful rebellion and you allowing it to be.
- 22:37My voice is feeling tired so I'm going to stop
- 22:40there.
- 22:40I just hope this finds who it was meant to find and may you give yourself permission to just
- 22:46show up.
- 22:48I'm telling my future self who's going to edit this, it's divine as it is.
- 22:53Don't ask
- 22:54yourself what's the point because that reduces your art.
- 22:56It's like what is the point of a tree?
- 23:02it's beyond a point again it's that colonial framing it's that logic reduction it's putting
- 23:09mind over magic it's putting rigidity and rules over resonance it's putting logic over love
- 23:20so can we flip that paradigm which i feel you are part of that flip where we choose love over logic
- 23:25we choose magic over mind we choose resonance over rigidity over rationality resonance over
- 23:33rationality oh i love this okay so it's love over logic it's magic over mind and it's resonance
- 23:42over rationality so this is what i felt called to express today
- 23:47and made move through you in a way that maybe i couldn't have even seen
- 23:52I'm sending so much love to you
- 23:54I'm sending light
- 23:55I'm sending belief
- 23:56I'm sending reverence
- 23:59I'm sending a return to the sacredness of life
- 24:02Which requires since we are the form of life
- 24:05We were given permission to know most intimately
- 24:09When we find the sacredness within ourselves
- 24:11That is how we come to know the sacredness of life itself
- 24:16You are longed for
- 24:18You are prayed for
- 24:21You are divinely connected and fortified.
- 24:25You are manifested.
- 24:28People are calling you in just as you are.
- 24:32And your spirituality is a sacred, beautiful, worthy, divine, ancient part of you.
- 24:40An ancient part of you.
- 24:42We are all descendants of the stars and the people who worshipped spirits and saw the world around us as alive.
- 24:57And may we return.
- 24:58I feel like we're in a great collective return.
- 25:01And we need you.
- 25:02Okay?
