Step into Virginia’s rich Black history this Thursday, July 16th, 6–8 PM, at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center, where “A Compromised Freedom: 250 Years of Black Life in Virginia” brings to life the legacy of John Mitchell Jr. and Maggie L. Walker—trailblazers in journalism, civil rights, and community leadership. The evening features dynamic storytelling, a reception with refreshments, and family-friendly take-home activities.
