- 0:57Speaker 1: your personal success. I don't think we talk about out
- 1:00Speaker 1: personal accomplishments, personal success, personal things that you've done in
- 1:05Speaker 1: your life, that you have achieved that you don't give
- 1:07Speaker 1: yourself enough credit for. Now, before I get into that,
- 1:11Speaker 1: a little bit about me, I'm gonna certify recovery.

- 1:24Speaker 1: but this also is a personal healing and accomplishment and

- 1:58Speaker 1: one at gmail dot com. A s AJ dot M
- 2:01Speaker 1: A r I A M A zero one at gmail
- 2:04Speaker 1: dot com. Now, today's topic, it's gonna be about personal
- 2:09Speaker 1: healing and recovery when it comes to your achievements.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Now, I just saw a.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Retired pro football player aka far As playing for the NFL.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Because I have to make sure I distinguish because I
- 2:25Speaker 1: know it's football and soccer, and in it's football when
- 2:28Speaker 1: it comes to the NFL. So I have to make
- 2:30Speaker 1: sure I distinguish that his name is Chris Johnson. He
- 2:35Speaker 1: just found out that he has als. It is to
- 2:38Speaker 1: the point where he only can communicate through his eyes
- 2:44Speaker 1: through a machine where it communicates where he can speak.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Now, why is this important?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Because after all the accolades that he has done in
- 2:54Speaker 1: the NFL, and now, mind you, he has achieved a
- 2:57Speaker 1: lot in the NFL, but the damage that has been
- 3:01Speaker 1: done to him because of it is what we need
- 3:04Speaker 1: to talk about.
- 3:05Speaker 2: This is a part of healing and recovery that is
- 3:07Speaker 2: not talked about.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And that is the damage that you've done to yourself
- 3:11Speaker 1: to become successful. Because even though yes, the road is hard,
- 3:17Speaker 1: but the aftermath of what happens after you've become successful,
- 3:24Speaker 1: after you make a lot of money and you're an athlete,
- 3:28Speaker 1: the damage that is done to your body that later
- 3:31Speaker 1: on down the line you are going to pay foe
- 3:34Speaker 1: makes you ask yourself is it worth it? Because I
- 3:42Speaker 1: worry every day I see a football, basketball player, or
- 3:45Speaker 1: anybody in sports. I worry about, especially wrestlers and football
- 3:51Speaker 1: players in particular, and even guys that play NASCAR baseball players,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I worry about them every day. And even you know,
- 4:00Speaker 1: these men make millions of dollars, the injuries that they sustain,
- 4:05Speaker 1: the damage that goes to their bodies when they retire
- 4:10Speaker 1: is insane.
- 4:11Speaker 2: So to see Chris Johnson going.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Through als, to see so many players have to do
- 4:20Speaker 1: with MS and PTSD. It's just not a military they
- 4:25Speaker 1: made money, but the PTS that come from being in war,
- 4:31Speaker 1: the mental health issues that come within going to war
- 4:35Speaker 1: and being in the military. That's the aftermath of when
- 4:41Speaker 1: you're doing something.
- 4:42Speaker 2: When it comes to physical and.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Being successful, even when it comes to being in the
- 4:48Speaker 1: music industry, even when it comes to you even work
- 4:52Speaker 1: at a really matter four job, you have no idea
- 4:56Speaker 1: the mental health challenges that you go in that you
- 4:59Speaker 1: have a deal with the physical that you have to
- 5:02Speaker 1: deal with. You have a lot of men and women
- 5:04Speaker 1: that are out there doing construction. You got men that
- 5:08Speaker 1: are you know, mechanics and they're you know, ingesting all
- 5:13Speaker 1: of these fumes and all these different things. And then
- 5:17Speaker 1: later on down the line, when you get older and
- 5:19Speaker 1: you get like about forty years old, you start to
- 5:23Speaker 1: notice your body.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Doesn't feel the same some people is when they're younger.
- 5:29Speaker 1: People act like young kids don't get cancer at a
- 5:33Speaker 1: young age because they do.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I want people to understand that success. Don't get me wrong.
- 5:41Speaker 1: If you can be able to make money and be
- 5:44Speaker 1: able to take care of your body to where you're
- 5:48Speaker 1: able to be healthy, then I think that's important.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But here's the thing about healing and recovery.
- 5:57Speaker 1: When it comes to the same thing and business the
- 6:01Speaker 1: same way, you have to build a business the same way,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you gotta build yourself.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And if you don't build yourself, then it don't matter.
- 6:09Speaker 1: If you don't understand that you have to protect you
- 6:14Speaker 1: when you become successful, that you have to make sure
- 6:18Speaker 1: that you are taking care of yourself.
- 6:21Speaker 2: This society does not let you rest. This society does.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Not let you just d I have come to the
- 6:28Speaker 1: realization that alcohol, for example, every time somebody celebrates, the
- 6:34Speaker 1: first thing they want to do is pick up my call.
- 6:36Speaker 1: That's the first thing they want to do, and they
- 6:38Speaker 1: want to celebrate. And I'm not talking about wine, I'm
- 6:42Speaker 1: talking about liquor. Liquor is not good for you because
- 6:47Speaker 1: it messes up your liver and you continue to do it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Now the same way that you start off with a
- 6:55Speaker 1: plan when it comes to building a business.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So so for example, I use me.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm doing travel agency right now, and I'm also still
- 7:05Speaker 1: doing my coaching, and I'm still doing my jewelry business.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But I lost my father, so I've been grieving, and
- 7:13Speaker 1: I have to tell you there's no time living and grieving.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Okay, there just isn't.
- 7:18Speaker 1: But I'm still trying to figure things out. Ever since
- 7:22Speaker 1: I passed away. I'm trying to figure out what my
- 7:24Speaker 1: next move is gonna be. How am I gonna get
- 7:27Speaker 1: till you make him proud? I want to build something
- 7:30Speaker 1: before I pass away. So today when I woke up,
- 7:34Speaker 1: when I started last night, I started feeling really bad
- 7:38Speaker 1: last night and it was late and I really couldn't sleep,
- 7:42Speaker 1: and I drifted off and I had that fear that
- 7:45Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna wake up. Sometimes that happens every once
- 7:48Speaker 1: in a while with me. And that was because a
- 7:50Speaker 1: medication that was given to me in twenty seventeen that
- 7:52Speaker 1: almost killed me. I ain't been the same since, but
- 7:57Speaker 1: I'm still here. I'm talking to y'all now. But when
- 8:01Speaker 1: I think about my dad passing away, and I'm thinking
- 8:05Speaker 1: about what he left behind, and I'm thinking about the debt.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Collectors that are calling wanting us to pay his bills.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm thinking about the fact of the house and the
- 8:18Speaker 1: fact that we don't get his Social Security because we're
- 8:22Speaker 1: not under the age seventeen. They changed it so you
- 8:26Speaker 1: don't get their solid security if anything happens to them,
- 8:30Speaker 1: So that money pretty much is just sitting there.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So for them to say they ain't got no money.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Considering the fact that adult children cannot get their parents'
- 8:40Speaker 1: Social Security, my dad retiring and paying taxes on his retirement,
- 8:47Speaker 1: paying tax on the house to be paid for. We
- 8:51Speaker 1: can't get access to the house because we don't have
- 8:53Speaker 1: our name on anything. The will we doesn't have will,
- 8:58Speaker 1: doesn't have a testament, and doesn't have trust.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I have learned so much.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Since my father passed away that makes me question everything.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And we do not talk about this, and it's time.
- 9:15Speaker 2: That we did.
- 9:17Speaker 1: My whole world as I know it has not been
- 9:23Speaker 1: the same since he passed. I asked myself now cause
- 9:28Speaker 1: I lost this christ Partner, tell the story. I lost
- 9:31Speaker 1: my job January ninth of this year. My father passed
- 9:37Speaker 1: away February twelfth. I had to pack my whole entire
- 9:41Speaker 1: life up from Florida to move back here in North Carolina.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Kay had to move back here with no job. I
- 9:47Speaker 1: have put applications in, nobody's hired me. So let me
- 9:51Speaker 1: compare Florida to New York to North Carolina. In Florida,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I was getting you know, people wanted me to come
- 9:59Speaker 1: to interviews, couldn't drive came back here. I have not
- 10:03Speaker 1: gotten one person that has asked me to come in
- 10:06Speaker 1: because the reason why that I have found out is
- 10:10Speaker 1: because I have.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Too much experience.
- 10:12Speaker 1: They're now gonna pay me twenty four dollars an hour.
- 10:14Speaker 1: My last job was twenty four dollars an hour. Why
- 10:17Speaker 1: would I want to go back to eighteen dollars an hour. See,
- 10:20Speaker 1: that's the thing. They want you to lower yourself, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: men make it seem like they want to build you
- 10:25Speaker 1: up for some reason. People claim they want you to uplift,
- 10:30Speaker 1: people claim they want you to do better. But then
- 10:33Speaker 1: when you come from someplace where you've been making really
- 10:36Speaker 1: good money and then they tell you we have to
- 10:40Speaker 1: put you in an entry left position.
- 10:42Speaker 2: After you've been doing this job.
- 10:44Speaker 1: For ten years, ten plus years, and you want me
- 10:49Speaker 1: to work eighteen dollars an hour. I worked twenty four
- 10:54Speaker 1: dollars an hour, Now you want me to work eighteen.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm out of on TikTok made a valid point, they said,
- 11:04Speaker 1: do these people really want us to really upgrade? Because
- 11:09Speaker 1: what I'm seeing now, I think the real reason that
- 11:11Speaker 1: they want the older generation to not retire is so
- 11:16Speaker 1: basically essentially, for the rest of your life, you're gonna
- 11:19Speaker 1: be making the same type of money.
- 11:21Speaker 2: It's no longer about getting a raise.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Matter of fact, when is the last time some of
- 11:26Speaker 1: y'all at your jobs have heard about getting a raise?
- 11:30Speaker 1: When's the last time that you've heard about you being
- 11:33Speaker 1: able to move up in a company? Now they're making
- 11:36Speaker 1: it so people are doing two or three different jobs
- 11:39Speaker 1: and getting paid for one.
- 11:43Speaker 2: So really.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Seeing this, I'm just like blown. And then the fact
- 11:53Speaker 1: that you know, my dad, I think he knew he
- 11:56Speaker 1: was dying. I think he knew, but I really do
- 12:00Speaker 1: want his medical records to find out what exactly he.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Had so that way it won't happen to me.
- 12:06Speaker 1: What's crazy was my dad was going to the doctor
- 12:08Speaker 1: he has swelling in his legs, diabetes, and we think
- 12:11Speaker 1: he was going through dementia and had a heart monitor
- 12:17Speaker 1: on him far as a pacemaker. So, like I said,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know, I'm questioning everything, So I put.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Everything on hold.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Why because I'm trying to figure out what direction do
- 12:31Speaker 1: I want to go?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Do I want to work for a regular ninety five
- 12:33Speaker 2: job or do I want to build something that is
- 12:35Speaker 2: of my own?
- 12:37Speaker 1: And if I do, how am I gonna be able
- 12:39Speaker 1: to do that and be able to make it? So?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Because I'm in my fifties at this point, how long
- 12:46Speaker 1: am I gonna be able to enjoy the success before
- 12:49Speaker 1: I die? My son is autistic, So it's who's gonna
- 12:52Speaker 1: take it over when I leave? Some of us have
- 12:56Speaker 1: children to get disabilities, and we're thinking of ourselves who
- 12:59Speaker 1: go to take carry these businesses when we leave?
- 13:03Speaker 2: What happens to them? So it's one of them things.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I'm just sitting there, like I wish in my twenties
- 13:10Speaker 1: I would have just worked a job long enough to
- 13:13Speaker 1: build a business. That's what I'm thinking right now. And
- 13:19Speaker 1: I know for some of y'all in your fifties you
- 13:20Speaker 1: thinking the same thing. You thinking, Oh my god, when
- 13:27Speaker 1: I retire, will there be any retirement?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Am I gonna have to tax my retirement?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Am I gonna even if I am, I even gonna
- 13:35Speaker 1: make it to sixty five. I saw somebody on social
- 13:40Speaker 1: media talking about women's weight and women's bodies and talking
- 13:44Speaker 1: about the fact that women are told to be a
- 13:47Speaker 1: certain size, so on and so forth, but men are
- 13:49Speaker 1: not told that. I learned that weight does play a
- 13:54Speaker 1: part of your health and wellness, but not the way
- 13:57Speaker 1: you might think. Wait makes you feel heavy and it
- 14:04Speaker 1: slows you down, but it doesn't mean that you're healthy
- 14:08Speaker 1: because you're smaller, cause there are a lot of people
- 14:11Speaker 1: that have health issues that are smaller, so one don't
- 14:14Speaker 1: have nothing to do with the other. It's really about
- 14:17Speaker 1: whether you take care of yourself, eat, eat right, and
- 14:21Speaker 1: be healthy determines whether you're gonna be healthy or not.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So now that I'm.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Really sitting down and really thinking about it, since going
- 14:30Speaker 1: through this stuff with my father is just really shocking.
- 14:34Speaker 1: My dad worked for almost fifty something years just to
- 14:39Speaker 1: have his retirement text, just to go through a bunch
- 14:43Speaker 1: of medical issues from being in the military for twenty
- 14:46Speaker 1: two years, just to go to military doctors where they
- 14:51Speaker 1: weren't exactly treating him for some of the issues that
- 14:54Speaker 1: he had.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I saw my father slow down. I saw my father to.
- 14:59Speaker 1: The point that he could barely get out of bed,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and if he did, he had a hard time walking
- 15:04Speaker 1: up and down the steps. My dad slept a lot
- 15:07Speaker 1: before he died, so to see him go from this
- 15:12Speaker 1: man that was able to fix everything to a man
- 15:17Speaker 1: that sometimes would forget things, just like my grandmother seeing
- 15:20Speaker 1: her go through Alzheimer's, seeing my aunt go through Alzheimer's.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I'm just sitting here like blown. Is this what our
- 15:26Speaker 2: lives gonna look like? For years, my generation of Generation X.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Was told that at sixty five, we were gonna be
- 15:34Speaker 1: able to retire. Sixty five would be at to travel,
- 15:37Speaker 1: see the world, be able to retire, enjoy our homes.
- 15:41Speaker 1: But yet people are told to sell their businesses, sell
- 15:44Speaker 1: their homes.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And was even more crazier. When these people sell their.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Companies, they're still working for the company is if they're
- 15:51Speaker 1: an employee.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I'm just blown by all of this, I really am.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'm blown by so many truths that my dad passing
- 16:02Speaker 1: away is really really really sitting here telling me Because
- 16:06Speaker 1: I remember when I moved back and I put the
- 16:09Speaker 1: electric bill, you know, the gas doing my name, and
- 16:12Speaker 1: I remember they tried to put a bill of my
- 16:14Speaker 1: dad's in my name.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I said, I ain't been here since twenty twenty two.
- 16:18Speaker 2: How are you gonna make me pay a bill that's
- 16:20Speaker 2: not mine?
- 16:23Speaker 1: So then the next thing, you know, you know, I
- 16:26Speaker 1: had to send all this stuff my least, all this
- 16:28Speaker 1: stuff showing that I've been living in Florida since twenty
- 16:31Speaker 1: twenty two.
- 16:33Speaker 2: They took it off.
- 16:35Speaker 1: But still, how can you put somebody else's bills on you?
- 16:41Speaker 1: How in the world is it y'all putting bills on
- 16:44Speaker 1: a family that has nothing to do with his bills.
- 16:48Speaker 2: This is why in a trust.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I'm putting in a trust that if anything happens to me,
- 16:54Speaker 1: my son or anybody else is not responsible for my bills.
- 17:00Speaker 2: And that's gonna be in writing. So that way, if bill.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Collect this called my son talking about your mother owes
- 17:06Speaker 1: all this money, they got something. My sister and them
- 17:09Speaker 1: got something in writing saying no, no, he doesn't. She
- 17:13Speaker 1: basically put in writing, he's not responsible. I Am not
- 17:18Speaker 1: gonna let my child be responsible for something that he
- 17:20Speaker 1: has nothing to do with. They're not only that, in
- 17:23Speaker 1: the state of North Carolina, you have to get a
- 17:26Speaker 1: real estate lawyer, which is something I gotta call about tomorrow.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So it's a lot. But I talk about this because
- 17:38Speaker 1: when you lose a parent or you lose a spouse,
- 17:43Speaker 1: when I tell you the stuff that come with that,
- 17:47Speaker 1: it changes everything for you.
- 17:51Speaker 2: It changes everything.
- 17:54Speaker 1: It changes every single solitary way that you move. It
- 17:58Speaker 1: changes you as far as your health and way, It
- 18:00Speaker 1: changes you as far as your spirituality. It changes you
- 18:03Speaker 1: when it come to financial it changes everything.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Your relationships.
- 18:09Speaker 1: The stuff that you will not put up with that
- 18:12Speaker 1: you would have put up with before that person passed away,
- 18:15Speaker 1: you won't.
- 18:18Speaker 2: The way you are.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Gonna be about getting your stuff together, putting things in order,
- 18:22Speaker 1: getting your affairs in order. Oh absolutely, because we gotta
- 18:27Speaker 1: do that for my mom, we have to get her
- 18:31Speaker 1: affairs in order. So I'm just saying, none of this matters.
- 18:42Speaker 2: To me.
- 18:43Speaker 1: It's not about doing something to make somebody else money.
- 18:50Speaker 1: It's not about anymore about me working eight hours a
- 18:52Speaker 1: day to make somebody else money, to barely survive, to
- 18:59Speaker 1: spend eight hours day in a job. Then when I
- 19:02Speaker 1: want to get up and travel, I can't because if
- 19:06Speaker 1: I don't, I'm gonna lose my job. And if I
- 19:09Speaker 1: lose my job, then I can't pay my bills. I'm
- 19:15Speaker 1: thinking along the line of I'm tied of rejection. I
- 19:21Speaker 1: put applications in they.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Don't hire me.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I now know why. Now I don't care if they
- 19:29Speaker 1: hire me or not. And now here I am on
- 19:34Speaker 1: a podcast that I'm deciding that I'm going to build.
- 19:41Speaker 1: It took my father passing away for me to come
- 19:45Speaker 1: to that conclusion. Is any of it worth it? No?
- 19:52Speaker 1: So I made the executive decision to take anything that
- 19:56Speaker 1: he's given me, and I'm gonna build something with it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Point blame, period. I'm gonna build something with it. That
- 20:04Speaker 1: is what I'm choosing to do now. Mind you, if
- 20:10Speaker 1: I hire anybody, I want them to build something for themselves.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I don't want them to work for me the rest
- 20:17Speaker 1: of their lots. I want them to work with me.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I want to build them.
- 20:23Speaker 2: But talk.
- 20:23Speaker 1: When Tianna Taylor got on there with the Icon Award
- 20:26Speaker 1: on BT Awards, she said, I'm not about trying to
- 20:29Speaker 1: leave anybody behind. I'm not trying to have nobody's that's
- 20:33Speaker 1: beneath me. I want to see people build. I want
- 20:37Speaker 1: people to build into what they truly want to be,
- 20:41Speaker 1: not what they're expected, not just to survive. But doing
- 20:45Speaker 1: what they love, doing what they're passionate about.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It's just like.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I got an email today about somebody saying, and I'm
- 20:55Speaker 1: not gonna say the person was, that they didn't think
- 20:58Speaker 1: they were re a good fit when it come to
- 20:59Speaker 1: the podcast.
- 21:01Speaker 2: I said, Okay, cool, I'm not mad about it. I'm
- 21:04Speaker 2: not upset about it.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Why because in the end, like I said in the
- 21:10Speaker 1: end of it, when these podcasts blow up, and the
- 21:15Speaker 1: same people that rejected me are the same ones laid
- 21:18Speaker 1: on down the line that are going to me on
- 21:21Speaker 1: the podcast. And what people don't know is I have
- 21:24Speaker 1: the pre conversations and I post them. I do post them,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and when I post them, I post them as as
- 21:31Speaker 1: it is because I want people to see my process
- 21:36Speaker 1: of how I go about having conversations with my audience,
- 21:41Speaker 1: I mean, the person I'm gonna be doing a conversation with.
- 21:44Speaker 2: But it ends up turning into a podcast.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Ironically, every conversation I had turned into a podcast, and
- 21:52Speaker 1: it wasn't because it was instructed. It wasn't because somebody
- 21:56Speaker 1: was there to direct it. It just naturally turned into that.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It isn't about a bunch of questions because these people
- 22:03Speaker 1: are the ones that know more about themselves and more
- 22:06Speaker 1: about their businesses than I do. My thing is I
- 22:09Speaker 1: let them tell it. Sometimes they ask They answered all
- 22:15Speaker 1: the questions that I was gonna ask. So I liked
- 22:18Speaker 1: the Conversation podcast because every question that I would have
- 22:23Speaker 1: asked is what I put into the conversation. Except I
- 22:28Speaker 1: don't ask questions. The only time I ask questions is
- 22:31Speaker 1: if there's something that I may not know about or
- 22:34Speaker 1: that type of thing. So instead, I use examples instead,
- 22:39Speaker 1: so I might say, well, okay, well in this example,
- 22:44Speaker 1: this is what I'm dealing with when it comes to seos.
- 22:49Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, It's about them educating me.
- 22:54Speaker 1: So the first conversation is about them, their journeys, how
- 22:58Speaker 1: they got to where they at, and then it's about
- 23:01Speaker 1: what they do because I want to know what got
- 23:04Speaker 1: you there. I want to know if this is something
- 23:07Speaker 1: you're doing for money, or is this something you're doing
- 23:10Speaker 1: because you.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Genuinely want to help people. See, my thing is, I'm
- 23:14Speaker 2: about solutions.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I'm not about temporary get which get rich quick schemes.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'm about solutions because I'm tired of seeing people constantly
- 23:26Speaker 1: going down the rabbit hole, constantly being scathed, constantly trying
- 23:30Speaker 1: to find their way out of it.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Just to be thrown back in it.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Not because they want to go down the rabbit hole,
- 23:37Speaker 1: because they got thrown down the rabbit hole. It's like
- 23:41Speaker 1: there are so many people trying so hard just to
- 23:44Speaker 1: be happy, and every time they meet somebody think that
- 23:48Speaker 1: that person's gonna make them happy. People are tired of
- 23:52Speaker 1: lowering themselves to build people up that just end up
- 23:55Speaker 1: leaving them for somebody else.
- 23:56Speaker 2: People are tired.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So when I created this podcast, it is about minding
- 24:03Speaker 1: your own business.
- 24:05Speaker 2: You can assist.
- 24:06Speaker 1: People, you can teach people, you can guide people, and
- 24:10Speaker 1: if you choose till.
- 24:11Speaker 2: You can lead 'em. But you can't make him drink.
- 24:15Speaker 1: You can't control somebody's freedomle choice and free will. So
- 24:19Speaker 1: let me tell you how today my life is today.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Right now I have. I went on Margaritaville in January,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I went to Myrtle Beach in May.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm in October, I'm.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Going to Celestial far As Cruise Line and Greece for
- 24:36Speaker 1: fourteen days. I'll be at the Chris Brown and Usher
- 24:40Speaker 1: concert in December, and I'll be on Margeriteville in January.
- 24:45Speaker 2: In January That's how my life is right now. I
- 24:50Speaker 2: get up when I want to.
- 24:53Speaker 1: If I want to just lay around, I can, and
- 24:56Speaker 1: then I get up and I do what I need
- 24:58Speaker 1: to do today. I don't feel good day, so I'm
- 25:02Speaker 1: just doing my podcast today.
- 25:05Speaker 2: But that's where I want to be.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I want when I wake up, I can do a webinar.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I can do a podcast, one on one coaching, travel agency,
- 25:19Speaker 1: create products, box stuff.
- 25:23Speaker 2: And then enjoy the rest of my day. That's what
- 25:25Speaker 2: I want to do.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I don't want to have to get up seven thirty
- 25:29Speaker 1: every morning, work forty hours a week doing something. I
- 25:32Speaker 1: hate being in office with a bunch of people, having
- 25:34Speaker 1: somebody all up up under me, and then go home
- 25:38Speaker 1: and barely have time for my child. I want to
- 25:42Speaker 1: be able to rearrange my closet. I want to be
- 25:46Speaker 1: able to let go of the ode and bring in
- 25:49Speaker 1: something new. I want to be able when I want
- 25:53Speaker 1: to get up and go to the beach, I can
- 25:54Speaker 1: just get up and go to the beach when I
- 25:55Speaker 1: feel like it. I want to be able to get
- 25:59Speaker 1: on plane when I feel like I want to be
- 26:01Speaker 1: able to if somebody called me about doing some type
- 26:03Speaker 1: of motivation speaking event, I want to be able to
- 26:05Speaker 1: get up and go and do it. Would I have
- 26:07Speaker 1: to worry about getting PTO only having forty hours eighty
- 26:12Speaker 1: hours of PTO time. I want to be able to
- 26:17Speaker 1: work where I know I'm getting paid no matter what,
- 26:21Speaker 1: instead of working for these staffing jobs where I get
- 26:25Speaker 1: no PTO, no sick leave, none of that. I want
- 26:31Speaker 1: to be able to make money where I have residual
- 26:36Speaker 1: income and I'm able to live freely.
- 26:41Speaker 2: I want to be able to help others to do
- 26:42Speaker 2: the same.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I want to be able to help others to be
- 26:46Speaker 1: a part of not owning their own business. But our
- 26:49Speaker 1: business is still work together, meaning I find out what
- 26:53Speaker 1: they're good at, help them create a business in it,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and we still work together.
- 26:59Speaker 2: So then the longer works.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Looking for me, they're now working with me because not
- 27:03Speaker 1: only am I helping their business, they're also helping mine.
- 27:06Speaker 2: We work together. I want multiple strings income.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I became a travel agent because I said, why am
- 27:14Speaker 1: I sitting around paying for trips when I can get
- 27:16Speaker 1: paid for the trips that I go on? Why Why
- 27:20Speaker 1: would I not be a travel agent when I can
- 27:22Speaker 1: play group trips and get paid for it?
- 27:25Speaker 2: Why not? So I incorporated that in my business.
- 27:30Speaker 1: A lot of people don't even think to become a
- 27:31Speaker 1: travel agent just so that would be good for your business.
- 27:35Speaker 2: But that's just me.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So again, thinking about it from that perspective made me
- 27:43Speaker 1: decide I want something of my own. But not only that.
- 27:48Speaker 1: You know, I'm still working on sleep. I'm still working
- 27:53Speaker 1: on not being on social media as much. I'm working
- 27:55Speaker 1: on it. But today it was just a bad day.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I was gonna get up and I was gonna do
- 27:59Speaker 1: my train today I just felt horrible, and I said,
- 28:02Speaker 1: you know what, instead of me doing that, let me
- 28:03Speaker 1: play catch up on all my podcasts and let me
- 28:06Speaker 1: actually do a podcast for each one of them. I
- 28:10Speaker 1: want to build this podcast. I want to want to
- 28:12Speaker 1: build all ten of my podcasts to be successful. I
- 28:15Speaker 1: want to be able to get them syndicated. I want
- 28:18Speaker 1: to be able to bring guests on here that have
- 28:22Speaker 1: been through financial troubles and have persevered. Now in no
- 28:27Speaker 1: way shape from fashion am my saying that you shouldn't
- 28:30Speaker 1: work for somebody, cause some people are meant to just
- 28:33Speaker 1: be workers.
- 28:34Speaker 2: But there are other people.
- 28:35Speaker 1: That have dreams and I'm never gonna say give up
- 28:39Speaker 1: your dream, but they don't.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Let nobody take over your dream.
- 28:44Speaker 1: You can build your dream on your own, but don't
- 28:48Speaker 1: sell your company to someone and you're.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Still gonna be working.
- 28:51Speaker 1: If you're gonna sell the company, sell the company completely,
- 28:54Speaker 1: show them everything that they need to do, and then leave.
- 28:58Speaker 2: But the fact that you're still working for.
- 29:00Speaker 1: The company that you sold, uh uh. And make sure
- 29:05Speaker 1: if you do that that you have another company that's thriving.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Just bad. But me personally, I would not sell my company.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Me personally, I would just have something where they actually
- 29:16Speaker 1: contribute to my channel. They contribute to my business, but
- 29:21Speaker 1: I would never sell it. No, because I want to
- 29:25Speaker 1: be a Jones. I want to be the Rockefellers of
- 29:28Speaker 1: Rock Childs. Can't do that if I sell my business,
- 29:33Speaker 1: Because you know how hard it is to build another business.
- 29:35Speaker 1: It's not as eisy you might think. If I went
- 29:38Speaker 1: through all of that to build a successful business, I'm
- 29:40Speaker 1: not selling it. But what I am gonna do is
- 29:43Speaker 1: either have them to invest or we partner, meaning I
- 29:49Speaker 1: have a distribution. I have everything that I need from
- 29:53Speaker 1: each person that I do business with. But it doesn't
- 29:57Speaker 1: mean I have to give up controlling interest. So I understand,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I get it. These journeys are not easy.
- 30:08Speaker 2: They're not.
- 30:10Speaker 1: But watching my father since he retired, never go on vacation.
- 30:17Speaker 2: My dad still had to work. Even though he was
- 30:20Speaker 2: retired from the military.
- 30:22Speaker 1: He still worked for thirty years, So fifty something years
- 30:27Speaker 1: my father worked and after that he ain't been on
- 30:32Speaker 1: a vacation since. I don't even know how many people,
- 30:37Speaker 1: in all honesty worked until they died.
- 30:41Speaker 2: There was a woman that died at work.
- 30:45Speaker 1: She was just going to take a vacation after fourteen
- 30:47Speaker 1: years and passed away. There are people that get on
- 30:53Speaker 1: their road every day and don't get enough sleep. There
- 30:57Speaker 1: are people that own their phones all the time and
- 31:00Speaker 1: cannot focus and cannot concentrate. For all that time you
- 31:04Speaker 1: sitting on the phone, you could be building a business.
- 31:07Speaker 1: For all the time that you sitting there on social media,
- 31:09Speaker 1: struggling worry about somebody else, you could be building something
- 31:11Speaker 1: for yourself. Y'all waiting around for somebody to love you,
- 31:15Speaker 1: to care about you for what Why? At the end
- 31:20Speaker 1: of the day, life is short, and we don't have
- 31:25Speaker 1: time to sit around here and wait. We ain't got
- 31:28Speaker 1: time to lower ourselves to build other people up.
- 31:32Speaker 2: There's no point in that. Just be happy. That's it.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Be happy.
- 31:38Speaker 1: For yourself. You don't have to lower somebody. I mean,
- 31:42Speaker 1: you don't have to lower yourself to build somebody up.
- 31:45Speaker 1: And anybody asks you to give up your career, your
- 31:47Speaker 1: safety net, give up everything that you worked hard for
- 31:51Speaker 1: just to be with them, the answer is no, because
- 31:53Speaker 1: I'm not doing it. I am not going to lower
- 31:56Speaker 1: myself to be with you. My whole thing is I
- 31:59Speaker 1: am equal to you.
- 32:01Speaker 2: If not, you're beneath me. I don't care what you
- 32:05Speaker 2: look like. I don't care what you have.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Some people you may think got money, they got somebody
- 32:12Speaker 1: that's managing everything. They have somebody that's running everything, but
- 32:17Speaker 1: it's not their business. The other person is ripping the
- 32:21Speaker 1: benefits off the other person's talent, the other person's what
- 32:26Speaker 1: they're capable of, and then all of a sudden something happen.
- 32:29Speaker 2: They get rid of it. So now we ain't doing that.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Like I said, I'm at peace with everything. I really am.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I'm at peace with it all.
- 32:43Speaker 1: But going through this with my father has given me
- 32:47Speaker 1: so much of a perspective when it comes to possessions,
- 32:53Speaker 1: understanding that when you leave this earth, not a bit
- 32:55Speaker 1: more of your bills, not a bit more of debt,
- 32:58Speaker 1: not a bit more of these proper, but he's not
- 33:00Speaker 1: a bit more of any of this is gonna matter.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Why because your kids, nine times out of ten gonna
- 33:05Speaker 2: sell it.
- 33:07Speaker 1: So I'm thinking to myself, I thank god I don't
- 33:10Speaker 1: have a house. Then I have to leave for my
- 33:13Speaker 1: son to have to manage. I thank god that I'm
- 33:17Speaker 1: leaving him enough money to be able to be okay,
- 33:22Speaker 1: because he's autistic, so he'll be with somebody anyway, because
- 33:28Speaker 1: he's not at that place where he's gonna be able
- 33:30Speaker 1: to pay.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Bills on his own.
- 33:34Speaker 1: My whole thing is we're gonna keep the house. We're
- 33:37Speaker 1: not gonna sell it because we're going.
- 33:40Speaker 2: To keep it.
- 33:41Speaker 1: If the kids need it, all they gotta do is
- 33:43Speaker 1: pay the taxes on it. If me and muscles to
- 33:45Speaker 1: make sure that we have money set aside since they
- 33:48Speaker 1: can't pay the taxes. If they can't, then they can
- 33:51Speaker 1: sell it. And that's but nobody can sell it because
- 33:53Speaker 1: the house ain't.
- 33:53Speaker 2: In our names.
- 33:55Speaker 1: So I just want people to understand that you're not
- 33:58Speaker 1: supposed to stay stacked the rest of your life, but
- 34:01Speaker 1: that's what society wants you to do. They want you
- 34:04Speaker 1: to stay stagnant in some areas, but wants you to
- 34:08Speaker 1: grow in others as long as it benefits them. Now,
- 34:11Speaker 1: mind you not airyness owner things like this, because they don't.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Some business owners are very appreciative of their employees and
- 34:18Speaker 1: they take good care of their employees, as they should.
- 34:24Speaker 1: But the fact that y'all think that people is supposed
- 34:27Speaker 1: to work to their sixty five years old doing what
- 34:30Speaker 1: they're expected, and the reason you don't want to raise
- 34:34Speaker 1: minimum wage is because you don't want people to build
- 34:38Speaker 1: their own business and brand y'all want to keep people
- 34:40Speaker 1: in debt. The crazy part is Republicans will sit here
- 34:43Speaker 1: saying it right to your face. So many people are
- 34:48Speaker 1: not even thinking about their best interests. Let's talk about
- 34:51Speaker 1: Oklahoma for a minute. Oklahoma had a chance to raise
- 34:56Speaker 1: their employment rates to twelve thousan an hour and then
- 35:01Speaker 1: eventually fifteen. Do you know there were more people that
- 35:06Speaker 1: rejected it than accepted it, So now they're right back
- 35:09Speaker 1: to seven twenty five.
- 35:13Speaker 2: How is that possible.
- 35:16Speaker 1: That you had a chance to make to push it
- 35:18Speaker 1: to fifteen and you rejected it. That's why I said,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I don't I don't understand certain people, and I never
- 35:26Speaker 1: will and I don't even try at this point because
- 35:30Speaker 1: they're just too far gone. You went against your best
- 35:34Speaker 1: interests because you don't want minorities to have something. Citizen
- 35:41Speaker 1: I'm saying, I don't really like to talk about stuff
- 35:43Speaker 1: like this, but this is just the same one I'm
- 35:45Speaker 1: talking about. I'm not a person that's about color, race, nothing.
- 35:49Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I do not
- 35:51Speaker 1: understand the way you think. Sometimes, so racism, discriminating diversity
- 35:56Speaker 1: and division is more important than equality.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It's more than important than you getting fifteen dollars an hour.
- 36:04Speaker 1: So because minorities get to have the same thing, you
- 36:08Speaker 1: don't want to get past minim wage, so you'd rather
- 36:13Speaker 1: keep things of seven twenty five just so another race
- 36:15Speaker 1: of people couldn't get it, then for everybody to get it.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I don't understand the logic.
- 36:21Speaker 1: So, like I said, at the end of the day,
- 36:23Speaker 1: this is why I say I have to tune out
- 36:25Speaker 1: some days. This is why I say I have to
- 36:28Speaker 1: walk away from certain things sometimes God just do because
- 36:31Speaker 1: I just came to this point. See, I didn't want
- 36:34Speaker 1: to stay on here for too long. But still I've
- 36:37Speaker 1: learned a lot through losing my father. I really have,
- 36:41Speaker 1: and I'm really, really glad that I'm learning these things
- 36:44Speaker 1: because it changes everything as far as my perception of life,
- 36:50Speaker 1: my perception of society, my perception of working, family relationships,
- 36:56Speaker 1: all of it.
- 36:58Speaker 2: And it makes me question is it worse? It makes
- 37:01Speaker 2: me question.
- 37:04Speaker 1: That should I, when I was younger, not really rush
- 37:08Speaker 1: to work, just work a part time jobs, stayed home
- 37:12Speaker 1: my parents, travel see the world.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Should I have just.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Work part time, stayed home, have a moment, up the bills,
- 37:23Speaker 1: build a business, build a brand, and then quit when
- 37:26Speaker 1: I started making twenty thousand dollars a month?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Should that been what I was supposed to do? Should
- 37:34Speaker 2: I have done.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Some traveling and seen the world and not rush to
- 37:38Speaker 1: go to work knowing that I'm at home with my parents.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Should I have not rushed to get married have kids.
- 37:47Speaker 2: At twenty two?
- 37:50Speaker 1: It makes you question everything. So I am questioning everything,
- 37:59Speaker 1: all of it. It makes me wonder was it was
- 38:03Speaker 1: it worth it? And based on what I'm learning. No,
- 38:09Speaker 1: So now I'm doing things differently. Now I'm working for me.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Now I'm building myself. Now I'm doing this podcast. Now
- 38:18Speaker 1: I'm doing coaching. Now I'm building a jewelry business and
- 38:21Speaker 1: travel agency business. That's what I'm doing. I am building
- 38:26Speaker 1: something and putting my money into me, not into a
- 38:31Speaker 1: department store.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I go.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I'm I got almost everything that I need. I'm not
- 38:36Speaker 1: gonna buy nothing for a while, and I'm gonna.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Put my money into my business and I'm gonna travel.
- 38:43Speaker 2: That's it. That's all.
- 38:46Speaker 1: So I will be talking more about this as I
- 38:49Speaker 1: go through this journey of this, but I thank y'all
- 38:53Speaker 1: for joining me for this episode. I just want to
- 38:55Speaker 1: talk about this. I'm your host, Scott is Ash Marry.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I'm I appreciate y'all and I love y'all. And without
- 39:01Speaker 1: y'all there was no meat. And thank y'all for supporting
- 39:03Speaker 1: the channel. I greatly appreciate it through my morning process.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I appreciate y'all just supporting me and to all my
- 39:11Speaker 1: guests that need to break this down. The pre conversation
- 39:15Speaker 1: is thirty minutes to about an hour, and then the
- 39:17Speaker 1: post conversation is an hour to an hour and a half.
- 39:20Speaker 2: And like I.
