  John chapter 15 Let us pray, oh God Almighty, how amazing it is

  to come and sit at your feet, Lord, to dine and Sup with you
• 0:15
  and to be beckoned in to the holiest of holy places.

  I thank you, God, that we can come to the throne room.
• 0:23
  Lord, that there is grace that abounds.
• 0:27
  Lord, we only come in by the blood of Jesus Christ.
• 0:31
  We only have that claim. Father, there is nothing good in
• 0:36
  US. Lord, we are yet unprofitable
• 0:39
  servants. Lord, we enter in boldly in the
• 0:43
  to the throne room of grace God and we are asking for a touch
• 0:48
  today. We're asking God to be healed
• 0:51
  from on high. You are the great physician.
• 0:54
  Lord, heal all of our ailments and infirmities.
• 0:57
  Father in this life and the life to come.
• 1:00
  Lord, we are asking for a sound mind today.
• 1:04
  Lord, we are asking that you would still all of the chaos in
• 1:08
  the waters. Lord, we're asking that we can
• 1:13
  come in and see you, Lord, correctly.
• 1:16
  We want to see your eyes like fire and hair like wool.
• 1:20
  We want to hear your voice like the multitudes.
• 1:24
  Lord, we want to see you seated on the throne, with the rainbow
• 1:29
  around you, in the sea of glass mingled with fire.
• 1:33
  God, we want to see the elders laying their crowns at your
• 1:37
  feet. We want to hear the song of
• 1:40
  eternity, crying. Holy, holy, holy.
• 1:45
  You are holy and you reign from on high.
• 1:49
  You are the Lord God Almighty, and you were, and you are, and
• 1:54
  you are to come. And we do cry Maranatha today.
• 1:58
  Lord, come touch us. Lord, heal us.
• 2:02
  Lord Holy Spirit, fill us and teach us.
• 2:06
  Give us discernment for this hour, Lord, whatever it is that
• 2:10
  you desire to say today to this generation, Lord, I pray that I
• 2:16
  can decrease as you increase. And it's all about you, King
• 2:19
  Jesus, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

  Let's start in verse one. I am the true vine and my Father
• 2:32
  is the husbandman. So Jesus is going to show us how
• 2:36
  we can be one in Him and one with the Father, and we can walk
• 2:42
  lock step, and we can be in full obedience as we walk in the
• 2:47
  Spirit and as we are in tune with Him.
• 2:50
  And we can receive from Him if we will not sear our conscience
• 2:57
  and grieve the Spirit and walk with the Spirit and pray in the
• 3:02
  Spirit, then we're going to be able to finish this race strong
• 3:06
  and bear much fruit. We can be the ones that are
• 3:11
  going out into the harvest. We're we can be the ones who are
• 3:16
  counted worthy to be called by his name.
• 3:21
  Verse 2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he takes away.
• 3:27
  And every branch that bears fruit, he purges it that it may
• 3:32
  bring forth more fruit. So we can see that the tree that
• 3:37
  bears bad fruit and the tree that bears no fruit are cut down
• 3:44
  and cast into the fire. And for us who are grafted in to
• 3:50
  this tree, it is a natural overflow for the fruit to come.
• 3:56
  We do not have to strive, friends.
• 3:59
  It is easy. His yoke is easy.
• 4:03
  He will give you his mind and his heart.
• 4:06
  And as you move and operate in this world, you're going to see
• 4:09
  people the way that he does. You're going to understand
• 4:14
  certain circumstances. You're going to understand
• 4:18
  eternal truths. If we will get connected to the
• 4:22
  vine, you know, we cannot just have a get out of hell free
• 4:27
  theology where we're scared of going to hell.
• 4:31
  We must connect ourselves to the vine.
• 4:33
  We must bear much fruit and it'll be proof that you belong
• 4:38
  to him with the fruit that you bear and the love that you have
• 4:42
  for your neighbor and for your brothers and sisters in Christ,
• 4:45
  for the love that you have and the godliness that you have.
• 4:49
  Friends, we need to be connected to the vine if we want to finish
• 4:52
  this race. Well, three, now you are clean
• 4:57
  through the word, which I have spoken unto you.
• 5:00
  So we need to be washed by the Word.
• 5:03
  We need to renew our minds by the Word of God.
• 5:06
  Friends, this is this continual washing that we need desperately
• 5:11
  and it's a daily discipline that we need to be.
• 5:15
  We cannot just have a dunking in the water, a walking down an
• 5:20
  aisle. We cannot just have a magical
• 5:23
  little prayer and then it's a one and done.
• 5:26
  No, you will prove that you are connected to him by the fruit
• 5:31
  that you bear and by the love that you have for your brother
• 5:35
  and you will have that. Mercies are new every day.
• 5:39
  You will have that, and you will have much fruit, for abide in
• 5:45
  me, and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself
• 5:50
  except it abides in the vine. No more can you except you abide
• 5:54
  in me. You can know all the scriptures.
• 5:58
  You can attend every single Sunday.
• 6:01
  You could attend church. You could sing all of the songs,
• 6:05
  all of the hymns, you can have all of the giving statements
• 6:11
  that reflect, but all that is nothing in comparison to walking
• 6:17
  in the Spirit and walking with Jesus Christ and being connected
• 6:22
  to him. We must be connected to him and
• 6:26
  do not be surprised if the world doesn't understand.
• 6:30
  Do not be surprised if you're walking with the Lord Jesus
• 6:34
  Christ. If people don't understand, they
• 6:38
  did not understand our Lord. And if we will get connected to
• 6:42
  Him. He might tell you to do things
• 6:45
  that others don't understand. But it is OK.
• 6:48
  Blessed are those that are not offended by Him.
• 6:53
  We have to abide in Him. Five, I am the vine, and you are
• 6:57
  the branches. He that abides in me and I and
• 7:01
  Him the same brings forth much fruit.
• 7:04
  For without me you can do no thing.
• 7:07
  So Jesus here is telling us, Jesus here is telling his little
• 7:12
  band of disciples here. He's telling us that we can do
• 7:17
  no nothing apart from him. That if we are moving in our own
• 7:23
  strength and our own understanding, we will be
• 7:26
  confounded 10 times out of 10. If we are leaning on our own
• 7:31
  understanding, we will be thrown into chaos and confusion.
• 7:38
  Jesus's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are much higher
• 7:43
  than our thoughts. And He might lead you in paths
• 7:47
  that are different than how you would operate.
• 7:55
  They might be counterintuitive to your carnal mind, and you
• 7:59
  must be OK with that. You must understand that His
• 8:03
  ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts.
• 8:08
  So as we have the mind of Christ, we can start to
• 8:13
  understand that we move in obedience to Him, even if we are
• 8:20
  misunderstood and ridiculed and mocked.
• 8:23
  We must obey the Father more than we obey Man. 6 If a man
• 8:29
  abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is
• 8:33
  withered, and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and
• 8:38
  they are burned. So those who come to him with
• 8:43
  just a intellectual approach, a scholastic approach, those that
• 8:50
  come to him and they know of him, and these are even the ones
• 8:57
  who say we prophesied in your name.
• 9:00
  We'd done miracles in your name. These are the ones that are
• 9:04
  saying we cast out demons in your name.
• 9:08
  And he's going to say, depart from me, for I never knew you.
• 9:11
  They were never truly grafted in.
• 9:14
  They were never truly part of the tree, part of the vine.
• 9:21
  They were those who came to him for what they could get out of
• 9:26
  this relationship. And do not be surprised when
• 9:30
  people renounce their faith. Do not be surprised when the
• 9:34
  apostate church rears its head. Do not be surprised at the
• 9:38
  falling away of so many because they were never truly His to
• 9:43
  begin with and they are cast into the fire because they bore
• 9:47
  no fruit. The fruit that we bear is
• 9:50
  natural. The fruit that we bear comes
• 9:53
  from a right relationship with God Almighty through His Son
• 9:57
  Jesus Christ, and it will be easy for us to bear this
• 10:03
  abundant fruit. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in
• 10:08
  you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto
• 10:12
  you. So he's saying that whenever we
• 10:14
  are connected to the vine and we ask for anything that is in full
• 10:19
  accordance with God's will and we ask for it in Jesus name, it
• 10:25
  will be given to us and it will be done because it is his will.
• 10:31
  8 Here in is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit, so
• 10:37
  shall you be my disciples. That is the mark friends.
• 10:41
  We love each other and the fruit that we have, and you can see
• 10:45
  this fruit just to drill it down real quick.
• 10:48
  You can see this fruit in the middle of a crisis.
• 10:54
  You can see this fruit when the chips are high and when the
• 10:57
  chips are down. You can see this fruit, friends,
• 11:02
  in all seasons. You can see it whenever you were
• 11:06
  low and when you were high. You can see it when you were
• 11:09
  young and when you were old. You can see it in the middle of
• 11:14
  the storm. We have peace that surpasses all
• 11:18
  understanding. The fruit that we bear is
• 11:24
  sharing our testimony and bringing many into repentance.
• 11:29
  The fruit that we bear is not letting our left hand know what
• 11:34
  our right hand is doing. We don't seek after the applause
• 11:40
  of men. When we do everything for the
• 11:43
  Lord and He sees it and what is done in secret, He will openly
• 11:47
  reward friends. We bear much fruit, and it is
• 11:51
  not for the praise of men. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have
• 12:02
  I loved you. Continue you and my love.
• 12:05
  So He's telling us what is the secret?
• 12:08
  He's saying if we will abide in Him as He is abiding with the
• 12:13
  Father, then we will all be of 1 accord, and we are indwelled
• 12:17
  with the Holy Spirit. And do you not know that you are
• 12:20
  the temple of the Lord? Do you not know that you will
• 12:24
  judge the world? Do you not know you will judge
• 12:27
  the angels? He is telling you that you have
• 12:31
  His presence with you and that you are loved, and you can know
• 12:35
  love because He is love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you
• 12:41
  shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's
• 12:45
  commandments and abide in his love.
• 12:48
  You can see that God is love, and we don't even know what love
• 12:52
  is until we come to Him. What this world calls love is
• 12:59
  not what they call love is vanity, what they call love is
• 13:08
  lust, and what they call love is hatred in comparison to the love
• 13:16
  that the Father shows us. 11 These things have I spoken unto
• 13:21
  you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be
• 13:27
  full do you have joy today? Joy is not happiness.
• 13:32
  Happiness has a lot to do with what happens to you.
• 13:36
  Joy is whenever you have the stage 4 cancer, when you are
• 13:43
  going through the divorce, the loss of a loved one, when you
• 13:47
  are dealing with prodigals, when you are dealing with the loss of
• 13:52
  a limb, when you're dealing with bankruptcy.
• 13:56
  When you're dealing with job loss and you still have Jesus
• 13:59
  Christ and he's walking right beside you.
• 14:02
  When you are homeless and when you are car less and whenever
• 14:07
  you are money less, do you find your worth in your status, your
• 14:14
  reputation, your pride? Do you find it in what people
• 14:19
  think about you? Or do you find your joy in the
• 14:23
  connection that you have with the King of Kings and the Lord
• 14:26
  of Lords, the creator of the universe, and you are loved by
• 14:31
  Him and you can be known by him. That is the joy that we possess.
• 14:40
  I pray that your joy is full today. 12 This is my
• 14:45
  commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
• 14:50
  Jesus laid down his life for us, and that is the love that he
• 14:55
  commands us to do. 13 Greater love has no man than this, that
• 15:02
  a man laid down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends,
• 15:08
  if you do whatsoever I command you.
• 15:10
  So Jesus here is hinting to the kind of death that these
• 15:15
  disciples would have to suffer, the martyrdom that they would
• 15:19
  have to go through, the persecution that they would have
• 15:22
  to go through. And all of these disciples
• 15:26
  suffered horrible deaths. And even John on the island of
• 15:30
  Patmos was isolated from the world.
• 15:34
  And so you can see here that Jesus is telling them, but he's
• 15:38
  also telling you, and he's telling me that if you try to
• 15:42
  save your life, you will lose it.
• 15:47
  But if you lose your life for his sake, you will gain eternal
• 15:52
  life. And what does it profit a man to
• 15:55
  gain the whole world, but to lose his soul?
• 15:58
  And do not fear the one that can take the kill the body, but fear
• 16:03
  the one that can kill the body and cast your soul into hell.
• 16:08
  This is the way of Jesus Christ and the blood of the martyrs,
• 16:14
  the seed of the Gospel. And we must know that Jesus's
• 16:18
  ways are not our ways. Do not expect the abundant life
• 16:23
  to look in the way that you want it to, but blessed are those
• 16:27
  that are not offended by Him. We must understand these
• 16:31
  biblical principles. If you come to the Lord Jesus
• 16:35
  Christ for what you can get out of it, you've missed the mark.
• 16:39
  It is love for Him. It is love for His words and for
• 16:45
  His ways that compel us and propel us into greater heights.
• 16:52
  And all of everything all around you every day points to Him.
• 16:59
  And this is just a snapshot. This is a page in an entire
• 17:05
  library. Friends, this life that you and
• 17:09
  I have, we must get it right on this side because this will
• 17:12
  determine all of eternity for you, friends.
• 17:17
  So do not fear laying down your life for your brother and praise
• 17:23
  God for all those that put themselves on the front lines to
• 17:27
  protect and serve those who are weaker and those who do not yet
• 17:35
  know the Lord Jesus Christ. And if they were to die in their
• 17:39
  sins, they would be eternally separated.
• 17:42
  Thank God for those that choose to lay down their lives, for
• 17:48
  those of us that give us this space and the time to make the
• 17:53
  decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
• 17:56
  And that is the crux of the whole situation of the whole
• 17:59
  matter is God only sees us two ways.
• 18:04
  Either the blood of Jesus Christ covers us from the top of our
• 18:09
  head to the bottom of our feet. The grace of God covers us
• 18:14
  friends, and we will be ushered into His presence immediately
• 18:18
  after we take our last breath, or the wrath of God rests on
• 18:23
  those, even those that are seemingly good.
• 18:27
  There is no good in US, no, all of our righteousness is filthy
• 18:32
  rags. If you were not covered in the
• 18:34
  blood of Jesus Christ, you will not make it there.
• 18:37
  There is no other way. He is the only way, friends, and
• 18:41
  so thank God for those that choose to lay down their lives
• 18:45
  so that people can have the time to be able to make that decision
• 18:50
  so that they don't have to spend eternity separated from God
• 18:54
  Almighty. And we can have eternity by
• 18:58
  placing our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and having a
• 19:02
  relationship with God Almighty through His Son Jesus.
• 19:09
  Put your faith in Him today, Call on the name of the Lord
• 19:12
  Jesus Christ and be saved. Believe in your heart that God
• 19:16
  raised him from the dead and be saved.
• 19:19
  Look upon him today and be saved.
• 19:22
  Friends 15 From now on I call you not servants, for the
• 19:29
  servant knows not what his Lord does.
• 19:32
  But I have called you friends for all things that I have heard
• 19:38
  of. My Father I have made known unto
• 19:41
  you. So here he just gave us a
• 19:44
  promotion. We went from being unprofitable
• 19:50
  servants to friends of the Most High God.
• 19:53
  If we will abide in him and he in us, he will honour us, and he
• 19:59
  will. Speak highly of us to the Father
• 20:03
  when we stand before him, and he'll say, This one is mine. 16
• 20:09
  You have not chosen me, but I've chosen you, and ordained you
• 20:15
  that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit
• 20:18
  should remain, that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in
• 20:23
  my name, he may give it you. So here you can see this
• 20:28
  predestination. Here you can see this election.
• 20:32
  Friends, He chose us before the foundations of the earth.
• 20:40
  He's saying You did not choose me, but I chose you.
• 20:43
  And here is the the beauty of the whole matter.
• 20:46
  Friends, we do have free will and we can freely choose to
• 20:52
  leave the flock. We can freely choose to not
• 20:58
  believe. Just as Judas left, even though
• 21:05
  he was in close concert with the Lord Jesus Christ, it never sunk
• 21:11
  in. And the beauty of free will and
• 21:15
  the beauty of election is this. God lives outside of time and He
• 21:21
  gives you free will, but He already knows what you're going
• 21:24
  to do. He writes about it before it
• 21:27
  even happens because to him it is all happened.
• 21:32
  He sees it all before it ever comes to pass.
• 21:37
  He is omniscient, friends, and he is omnipresent.
• 21:42
  He is everywhere and He's all knowing and He is all powerful.
• 21:47
  He is sovereign and He knows everything that you're thinking
• 21:51
  and feeling. He knows where you're going.
• 21:54
  And we must get out of our own way and quit trying to figure it
• 22:00
  all out. His name is Jesus and it is
• 22:04
  Jesus alone that gets us there. It's not by how intellectual you
• 22:10
  are. It's not by trying to figure it
• 22:12
  all out. Every bit of this word points to
• 22:16
  the Lord Jesus Christ. And if you will put your full
• 22:19
  faith and full trust and full heart in to Jesus Christ, you
• 22:24
  will never be dismayed. And He will give you sound
• 22:28
  doctrine, and he will give you divine counsel, and you'll make
• 22:33
  it there. And he's telling us again, ask
• 22:37
  for it in his name, and it'll be in accordance with the will of
• 22:41
  the Father. And you're going to say to this
• 22:43
  mountain move, and it'll move 17 these things I command you that
• 22:49
  you love one another. There's that commandment again.
• 22:52
  He's bringing it back up. He's showing us how important it
• 22:55
  is. This is the way of the Lord is
• 22:58
  repetition. He will tell us the same thing
• 23:02
  over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
• 23:08
  over throughout your entire life.
• 23:10
  Just stay in the Word. Stay rooted and grounded in the
• 23:13
  Word of God. Even when you get to a place
• 23:16
  that you may not understand yet. Keep pushing forward.
• 23:19
  And it is the repetition that gets it to stick.
• 23:23
  And God knows He designed us, He created us in this way that it
• 23:28
  is repetitive mentionings of the same principle that gets it to
• 23:34
  stick and to go deep down into our DNA.
• 23:39
  And we hide His word in our heart so that we will not sin
• 23:42
  against Him. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it
• 23:48
  hated me before it hated you. Don't be surprised when
• 23:53
  persecution comes, even if it's subtle.
• 23:56
  Don't be surprised when you're asked to give up everything.
• 24:01
  You can see that it hated him for no reason other than the
• 24:05
  goodness of God. And it is because the world is
• 24:08
  hostile to the goodness of God, because they delight themselves
• 24:12
  in evil and they refuse to come to the Lord honestly, and they
• 24:17
  refuse to take him at his word. And they just want to be gods
• 24:21
  themselves. They want this life to go the
• 24:24
  way that they want it to go. And even those that are fearful
• 24:29
  of going to hell, they're not ready, ready to give up their
• 24:33
  autonomy. They're not ready to give up the
• 24:36
  way that they think this life should go or the way that they
• 24:39
  understand this life. And he's saying don't be
• 24:41
  surprised that the world hates you.
• 24:44
  They hated him. 1st 19 If you were of the world, the world
• 24:48
  would love his own. But because you are not of the
• 24:51
  world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
• 24:56
  world hates you. So he's telling us to come out
• 25:00
  of the world. Do not love the world or
• 25:01
  anything in the world. He's telling us to come out of
• 25:06
  all the systems of the world before they close in on us and
• 25:10
  trap us friends. And the problem is, you cannot
• 25:15
  serve 2 masters. You will love 1 and you will
• 25:20
  hate the other. And that is the reality that
• 25:23
  he's Speaking of, that we must love him wholeheartedly.
• 25:28
  Nothing held back and nothing compartmentalized. 20 Remember
• 25:33
  the word that I said unto you. The servant is not greater than
• 25:39
  his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they
• 25:43
  will also persecute you. If they have kept my saying,
• 25:47
  they will also keep yours. So you can see here that Jesus
• 25:51
  is telling them, don't be surprised whenever you're hated
• 25:55
  by this world, that He modeled for us the way that we are to
• 26:02
  live our lives, and He went all the way to the cross.
• 26:06
  He tells us to daily take up our cross.
• 26:09
  He tells us to put our hand to the plow and not look back.
• 26:14
  This is the way of the Lord. Count the cost before you ever
• 26:17
  come to Him, knowing that it could cost you your very life.
• 26:22
  And you must be OK with that. And so many of us, we want to
• 26:27
  try to save our skin. And when there's cowardice and
• 26:31
  we shrink back in fear. And it's easy to say one thing,
• 26:35
  and it's a whole nother to actually put it into practice.
• 26:42
  21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's
• 26:47
  sake, because they know not him that sent me.
• 26:50
  You can see it shaping up all around friends.
• 26:53
  You can see how the church and how Jesus is being marginalized
• 26:59
  and being pushed into a corner. You can see how the the Bible is
• 27:05
  being touted as barbaric and archaic.
• 27:09
  You can see how the world is hostile to the goodness of God.
• 27:15
  It's all shaping up and you can see it all around you.
• 27:23
  And he's saying here, 21 He's saying, But all these things
• 27:28
  will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know
• 27:32
  not him that sent me. They don't know God, They're not
• 27:34
  connected to God. They don't care anything for
• 27:37
  God. They want to be God.
• 27:39
  And it's the sin of Satan. It is Lucifer's downfall is
• 27:44
  pride. Friends 22 If I had not come and
• 27:48
  spoken unto them, they had not had sin, but now they have no
• 27:53
  cloak for their sin. So he's telling us and he's
• 27:57
  telling them and he's telling all the unreached people groups
• 28:01
  and all those that died before they received the gospel of
• 28:06
  Jesus Christ. He's saying that their
• 28:09
  conscience bears witness. It will either excuse or accuse
• 28:13
  them on the day of Christ Jesus. But whenever he comes and we
• 28:17
  present the gospel of Jesus Christ, there is no excuse.
• 28:21
  There is only a decision. And he draws the line in the
• 28:26
  sand and he makes you make a decision and choose you this day
• 28:32
  whom you will serve. But As for me, in my house we
• 28:36
  will serve the Lord. 23 He that hates me hates my Father also.
• 28:44
  You can see it, friends, Jesus is God. 24 If I had not done
• 28:51
  among them the works which no other man did, they had not had
• 28:56
  sin. But now they have both seen and
• 28:59
  hated both me and my Father. So he's saying not only does he
• 29:03
  make the clear pronunciation that he is God, but then he
• 29:10
  says, look, there's no one that can do the things that I do
• 29:15
  unless they are God. And then he tells us that if he
• 29:22
  had not come and did the works, and pronounced to them that he
• 29:27
  was God, then they would have the ability to try and weasel
• 29:35
  their way out. But because he came, and he
• 29:39
  boldly proclaimed, and he showed them, they are without excuse.
• 29:47
  25 But this comes to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that
• 29:52
  is written in their law. They hated me without a cause.
• 29:57
  So you can see here prophecy after prophecy being fulfilled.
• 30:01
  You can see here that Jesus knows the Word because He is the
• 30:05
  Word and the Word became flesh. And you can see here that He's
• 30:10
  fulfilling so many prophecies in his short 33 year lifetime
• 30:16
  before He was put on the cross, put in the tomb, resurrected,
• 30:23
  appeared to many, and ascended to the right hand of God.
• 30:25
  You can see here so many prophecies being fulfilled.
• 30:30
  And He shows that we hate Him without a cause, because He is
• 30:36
  love and He is good. And the only reason that a
• 30:39
  person could hate Him is because they are listening to the Father
• 30:43
  of lies, Satan. 26 But when the comforters come, whom I will
• 30:49
  send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
• 30:53
  proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me. 27 And you
• 30:59
  also shall bear witness, because you have been with me from the
• 31:03
  beginning. So we can see here how the Holy
• 31:07
  Spirit comes. We can see here how He indwells
• 31:11
  us and He gives us power from on high.
• 31:13
  We can see here that the disciples were going to be
• 31:16

  Jesus Christ in this lifetime. We need to be found speaking for

  Him, being His hands and feet and telling people what he's
