- 0:00Speaker 1: Day bar two on the Out of Bounds show. Uh,
- 0:03Speaker 1: brought to you by Ice Cold, michelob Ultra and Wings
- 0:06Speaker 1: for the Win. We're having a great time here. Uh
- 0:09Speaker 1: just bssing about coach effect. I love the war too.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I liked that you redid coach effect and I love
- 0:16Speaker 1: the war thing because people have loved war in baseball forever.
- 0:21Speaker 1: And then when fantasy baseball and war just came Superball.
- 0:25Speaker 2: How about the uh the instead of the last ten years,
- 0:29Speaker 2: how about the last five years? The Whiskey sixty one
- 0:33Speaker 2: lowest performing program over the last five years in power
- 0:37Speaker 2: for football.
- 0:42Speaker 1: U C l A Mississippi State, No.
- 0:46Speaker 2: A lot more talent? Who in the SEC just makes
- 0:51Speaker 2: you go Auburn.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Auburn. Gosh, Harson and Freeze just.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And Freeze was only minus point eight seven. Harrison just
- 1:02Speaker 2: just smoked it.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Harson was just that was It's gonna be interesting to
- 1:06Speaker 1: see if they should have, you know, just pulled the
- 1:11Speaker 1: belt tight on the waist and said, you know, DJ
- 1:17Speaker 1: is it looks like DJ is really really good on
- 1:19Speaker 1: one side of the ball. This is the weirdest thing
- 1:21Speaker 1: in the world. Whatever happened to Hugh on offense because
- 1:24Speaker 1: of what he did on this and Liberty were good,
- 1:26Speaker 1: we're gonna we're gonna do this one more time. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: right couldn't do it then?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Look at So I just pulled the list of I
- 1:36Speaker 2: asked that to pull me the list of the biggest
- 1:38Speaker 2: boom to busts. Okay, Sadderfield plus three point two five
- 1:46Speaker 2: games at app State, minus point five to six in
- 1:51Speaker 2: the Power four.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Now at Cincinnati.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Okay, Billy Plush plus three games at G five right
- 1:59Speaker 2: now consider uh some Rroll's done it at two places,
- 2:02Speaker 2: and he's a plus three point sixty seven. Okay, So
- 2:05Speaker 2: Billy's plus three minus one and a half at Florida,
- 2:10Speaker 2: huge drop off. Darryl Hazel really good at ken State,
- 2:16Speaker 2: horrible at Purdue, at Wells, I mean Perdue. Yeah, I know,
- 2:20Speaker 2: I know, brutal. Other than Joe Tiller, I know, I'm
- 2:24Speaker 2: Drew Brees the biggest disappointment so far. I think we'd agree. Uh.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And I call these guys outliers because we have a
- 2:33Speaker 2: lot of guys. Most guys that are really high at
- 2:35Speaker 2: the at the group of five, group of six, don't crash.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 2:40Speaker 2: These are really anominalies. Hugh going from plus four at
- 2:43Speaker 2: Liberty to better than minus one at Auburn, is you know, unbelievable,
- 2:51Speaker 2: Parson unbelievable, Soaderfield, Billy Napier. Uh. And then you know
- 2:59Speaker 2: one of and another guy who's on the super hot
- 3:02Speaker 2: seat right now, dude, how good was Mike Norvella Memphis?
- 3:06Speaker 1: Right? Yeah, wasn't he just smoking it? And then you
- 3:10Speaker 1: have Scott Frost. There's number one or up there.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Frost was the biggest disaster of all and it's not
- 3:18Speaker 2: even close. So his his his time at UCF, he
- 3:23Speaker 2: was almost plus five games a year. At Nebraska, he
- 3:27Speaker 2: was worse than minus two. What what I mean he
- 3:34Speaker 2: was basically he was basically Bill Snyder. Yeah, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I mean the blood read for Okay, here here it
- 3:44Speaker 2: is for you.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You love this.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Scott Frost is the poster child for how misleading a
- 3:49Speaker 2: single spectacular season could be.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Well, and we see that bar two like sham Pittman
- 3:56Speaker 1: jumped up in one nine games yeah uh, and then
- 4:00Speaker 1: it was just a matter then they had to re
- 4:01Speaker 1: up him.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Look, look right here in your backyard, good old Larry Fedora.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, he smoked that.
- 4:06Speaker 2: One season parladed into North Carolina had three crappy years
- 4:10Speaker 2: had a huge top twenty five year, they renew him
- 4:12Speaker 2: for another four and he does the same thing again, right,
- 4:16Speaker 2: I mean, you want to talk about one hit Wonders you.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Know, made a fortune rich, Wow, I love it. Larry
- 4:23Speaker 1: Fedora' Southern miss and nor one one big season at
- 4:27Speaker 1: each and that's what you got to think about. Like
- 4:30Speaker 1: Pittman jumped up in one nine, Beamer jumped up in
- 4:33Speaker 1: one nine or ten two years ago, but and eighties
- 4:40Speaker 1: automatically renew him. Yeah, but you don't have to do
- 4:43Speaker 1: that now with that by jumping you don't have to
- 4:45Speaker 1: have a coach where you have to say he's got
- 4:47Speaker 1: a five year deal, a four year deal. But like,
- 4:53Speaker 1: would you renew Jeff Levy if he goes six and six?
- 4:58Speaker 1: You shouldn't you? I mean maybe maybe you keep him.
- 5:02Speaker 1: What's the benefit? Where's the benefit of reupping it? In
- 5:06Speaker 1: the just paperwork? Yeah, it's not, well it's money. Well,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean, the problem is what they had to pay
- 5:13Speaker 1: Sam Pittman and what they had to pay some of
- 5:15Speaker 1: these other guys at Fedora, North Carolina. The problem is
- 5:18Speaker 1: when they have that one season, then you re up
- 5:21Speaker 1: them and then you fire them two years later, you're
- 5:23Speaker 1: still on the hook for a bunch of dough. So
- 5:30Speaker 1: all right, uh Dave Bar two on the Out of
- 5:34Speaker 1: Bounds Show brought to you by Pearl River Resort and
- 5:38Speaker 1: Philip M's Steakhouse. Yeah, Championship golf at Dancing Rabbit Golf
- 5:44Speaker 1: Club and the Bone and Rabbi Philip Ems is fabulous
- 5:50Speaker 1: saffron chowder. We'll sit in the bar. It's gonna be
- 5:53Speaker 1: great looking forward to that. Also, the Steaks and Kessler
- 5:57Speaker 1: Prime Bar two is gonna get so that to tonight,
- 6:01Speaker 1: so that'll be that'll be great. All right. Where do
- 6:05Speaker 1: we want to go from here? Let's see war I
- 6:09Speaker 1: had a question here.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Well, there's there's places we can go, right, I mean
- 6:15Speaker 2: we got Golish and Venables and Clark Lee and I
- 6:18Speaker 2: mean there's just we got a lot.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Okay, we can and we're gonna cover this in shows
- 6:22Speaker 1: later too. Now, let's I want to look at Old
- 6:28Speaker 1: Miss at Florida. Can we do that? Or is that?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Is that too far off the beaten path? Okay? I
- 6:37Speaker 1: just or do we go ahead and do the Old
- 6:39Speaker 1: Miss l s U Super Deep Dive or do we
- 6:40Speaker 1: go Florida since it's the game after we know Bar
- 6:43Speaker 1: two is going to be on deep Dive tomorrow. Okay,
- 6:47Speaker 1: all right, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, we can deep dive live.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That'll be good.
- 6:52Speaker 2: All right, Which way we're going?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Now, what do you think, Well, Mississippi State and miss
- 7:00Speaker 1: play Auburn and now it's Golish. Should we do that
- 7:06Speaker 1: and and frame that up because Levee should have a
- 7:09Speaker 1: chance to win. I mean, the way I see had
- 7:11Speaker 1: Auburn sixty percent chance to win Mississippi State forty when,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I mean that's rough as far two may like run
- 7:17Speaker 1: those numbers a week of it, maybe fifty seven to
- 7:20Speaker 1: forty three. Whatever. My point in that is, it's still
- 7:24Speaker 1: a winnable game at home for Levy. It's not like
- 7:27Speaker 1: Auburn is Maoson seven years, eight years ago where they.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Were, and it's not like Golish has really done anything.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I mean, he had he had a he had he
- 7:38Speaker 2: had one good year. He had two negative coach effected
- 7:40Speaker 2: years and a positive one. Okay, I mean, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 2: you look at his profile and at South Florida and
- 7:53Speaker 2: his first year actually, you know, I'll give it to him.
- 7:55Speaker 2: His first year he was he was minus pointy eight four,
- 7:57Speaker 2: so he was minus one game, six and six. Next
- 8:00Speaker 2: year he was six and six playing this one game,
- 8:03Speaker 2: and last year he was plus two games. But he
- 8:05Speaker 2: didn't beat anybody last year that he didn't out recruit.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I got you right, you know. And then you take
- 8:13Speaker 2: a look at his his ability to generate momentum in
- 8:18Speaker 2: a game. If he doesn't have peak momentum in a game,
- 8:22Speaker 2: he's fifteen fifteen fifteen fifteen, right, and so his career
- 8:28Speaker 2: coach effect after three games UH is plus point twenty four.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So he is since twenty ten. Remember with three years now,
- 8:37Speaker 2: he's qualified right to be in the in the in
- 8:39Speaker 2: the in the look at.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It so far, listeners. He was the head coach at
- 8:44Speaker 1: South Florida for the Bulls for three years and basically
- 8:48Speaker 1: he was pretty just yeah, not not awesome, not terrible. Yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: he is a Auburn job.
- 8:55Speaker 2: He's forty fifth percentile of all head coaches since twenty ten,
- 9:00Speaker 2: and his current coach effect ranks him seventy four out
- 9:10Speaker 2: of one nineteen, so thirty eighth percentile, so below average.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Right now, his floor is a negative one game, his
- 9:18Speaker 2: ceiling is plus two. And so you look at his
- 9:21Speaker 2: projected wins. Now, his projected wins. It's his first year,
- 9:26Speaker 2: and the hardest move in college football is G six
- 9:32Speaker 2: head coach to power.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Fore head coach.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Okay, okay, the easiest one is the opposite way is
- 9:39Speaker 2: Dan going from Florida to UNLB. Guys that go out
- 9:42Speaker 2: of the Power four are usually who they're going to
- 9:47Speaker 2: be right out of the gate. Okay, the guy's going
- 9:50Speaker 2: from Alex Golis from South Florida to Auburn. Yeah, take
- 9:53Speaker 2: away a game, just like that. Take away a game
- 9:55Speaker 2: from everybody, John Summer, all take away a game.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:00Speaker 2: So you look at Alex and his projection with his
- 10:07Speaker 2: with his coach effect is six point eight wins. But
- 10:11Speaker 2: we got to take one away for it being the
- 10:12Speaker 2: first year. So it's five point eight. Now, the market
- 10:15Speaker 2: line is six and a half. That's the over under.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's the total on Auburn right now. That was that
- 10:22Speaker 2: was fan duel and or DraftKings as of a couple
- 10:24Speaker 2: of weeks ago. Okay, so we're at six and a half.
- 10:28Speaker 2: The projection is six point eight, so it's right on it,
- 10:31Speaker 2: but you take one away for it being his first year. Now,
- 10:36Speaker 2: you may say, depending on how you analyze it, if
- 10:39Speaker 2: this is something you want to bet you go. You know,
- 10:41Speaker 2: I bringing over a quarterback. You know what did he
- 10:44Speaker 2: bring from South Florida?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Right?
- 10:49Speaker 2: And everybody loves them?
- 10:50Speaker 1: Right?
- 10:50Speaker 2: So maybe that makes up for it, right, But it
- 10:53Speaker 2: still tells me we're straddling between six and seven wins.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It projects the most likely number for him is six
- 10:59Speaker 2: and six. The next most likely number is five and
- 11:03Speaker 2: seven at twenty four percent, and then seven and five
- 11:06Speaker 2: at nineteen percent. So the Brown might be worth one
- 11:11Speaker 2: more game. But so far in his career we got
- 11:16Speaker 2: two down and one up in terms of coach effecting. Overall,
- 11:20Speaker 2: that averages out to be a pretty sheen Beamrish head
- 11:24Speaker 2: coach right now?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Oh wow? Okay, so there you go. Alex Golish is yeah, mah,
- 11:33Speaker 1: he didn't do anything remarkable Jackson in South Florida.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he had a really good year later.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So by the way, Florida has to go all right,
- 11:40Speaker 1: so you're talking about summerroll, Yeah, you talk about Golish,
- 11:44Speaker 1: Florida has to go to Auburn week three, So you
- 11:50Speaker 1: got summer all, you got the two G five guys
- 11:53Speaker 1: who just made the jump to Power four. Week three
- 11:56Speaker 1: at Auburn, Florida at Auburn yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And if you look at at Goalish, he is
- 12:07Speaker 2: let me look at these numbers here for him. There
- 12:10Speaker 2: was something that I found that was remarkably interesting with
- 12:16Speaker 2: Goalish versus Hypel, depending on what point of the game.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It was at.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So fourth quarter, so Hypel in the and these are
- 12:30Speaker 2: all close games, right third down? Hypel passed one hundred
- 12:35Speaker 2: percent of the time on third down and more than
- 12:38Speaker 2: eight but then flips it to under sixty seven percent.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It's it's the it's the it's the passing. This is
- 12:53Speaker 2: what's interesting because we talked about your better offensive coordinators
- 12:56Speaker 2: running and passing and so forth, and goal is just
- 13:01Speaker 2: way more aggressive on fourth down, uh, and passing on
- 13:08Speaker 2: lower yardage downs.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I wonder if he'll be more conservative in the SEC
- 13:13Speaker 1: or maybe Brown's that good, or maybe he'll just continue
- 13:16Speaker 1: to Yeah what if it's Brown?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Right right? So it's it's gonna be interesting again that.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And it also you're talking about the runner pass. How
- 13:24Speaker 1: much autonomy does the coach give the player to go
- 13:27Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage and figure out if the box
- 13:29Speaker 1: is loaded or if it's a light box. And you
- 13:32Speaker 1: got to you know, a lot of times guys have
- 13:34Speaker 1: a run in a pass play. And what is that
- 13:36Speaker 1: quarterback like, what is his tendency to does he want
- 13:40Speaker 1: to make the box favor him whichever way that is?
- 13:43Speaker 1: I mean, you know, there's all sorts of variables and
- 13:46Speaker 1: things going on.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Right, but look at the Look at the Goalish balance though, right,
- 13:51Speaker 2: so once you hit look at these look at these numbers, though,
- 13:55Speaker 2: Golish and Hypel. Uh, since we're since we're on Auburn
- 13:58Speaker 2: and sticking in the sec third and nine last year,
- 14:03Speaker 2: rush rate or I shouldn't go the other way, I
- 14:04Speaker 2: should go pass rate. Okay, Josh passed eighty nine percent
- 14:08Speaker 2: of the time on.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Third and nine.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Goalish only seventy one percent of the time third and ten.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Josh always passed third and eleven. Josh always passed third
- 14:21Speaker 2: and twelve. Josh always passed Goalish. And this is Brown, right,
- 14:26Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm guessing Brown can run a third
- 14:29Speaker 2: of the time on third and ten, ran the football
- 14:33Speaker 2: with the quarterback third of the time, third and eleven
- 14:36Speaker 2: quarterback third of the time, third and twelve.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Quarterback or draw.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So Goalish is a lot less predictable last year than
- 14:46Speaker 2: Hypel was.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Now.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Hypel may have the ultimate eraser in terms of talent
- 14:51Speaker 2: with that running back right. So to me, million dollar
- 14:55Speaker 2: question is Brown the speed of the SEC? How quickly
- 15:00Speaker 2: that can they adapt? Alex in twenty twenty five, what's
- 15:03Speaker 2: much less predictable and much more aggressive than Josh was.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Will that carry over into the SEC?
- 15:11Speaker 1: And Tennessee fans are frustrated with hypel, which is shut up,
- 15:17Speaker 1: shut I mean he's done it. Getting who you getting?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Who you get? Who's better? OC, that's that's that's a
- 15:24Speaker 1: great question. Who can you actually go get that's better?
- 15:29Speaker 2: And you're also firing your new defensive coordinator.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You paid a fortune, you to help win a national
- 15:33Speaker 1: Jim Leonard No, uh no, the guy that you state
- 15:37Speaker 1: at Penn State. Yeah Knowles, Yeah, Jim Jim Knowles. So
- 15:41Speaker 1: you get rid of that too.
- 15:42Speaker 2: So you got one. So now I don't think he
- 15:45Speaker 2: is that great because his defenses are highly complex and
- 15:50Speaker 2: it takes about.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Three or four years for everybody to catch up to him.
- 15:53Speaker 2: And he got a little lucky at Oklahoma State because basically,
- 15:58Speaker 2: as a starting defensive of eleven was six year COVID
- 16:03Speaker 2: seniors and they'd been in his system forever. So yeah,
- 16:06Speaker 2: he had a top five defense, but there's a little
- 16:08Speaker 2: special circumstance to put all of that together. But again,
- 16:11Speaker 2: when you're getting rid of hype Al the head coach,
- 16:13Speaker 2: you're getting rid of hype Al the play caller, and
- 16:16Speaker 2: he's a national championship level play caller for his career
- 16:19Speaker 2: in my opinion, and you have Knowles who's good, not great,
- 16:24Speaker 2: but still really good and inside the numbers. One of
- 16:29Speaker 2: the things that we have been seeing is it's very
- 16:33Speaker 2: very consistent. The more turnover you have, the harder it
- 16:37Speaker 2: buries your program. At some point you have to just
- 16:40Speaker 2: shut up and eat it and let the guy cook
- 16:44Speaker 2: for a while, just to bring some stability, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 2: like a stoops at Kentucky. Look, he did a good
- 16:50Speaker 2: job with talent, but he never really coached about the
- 16:53Speaker 2: talent his entire career, right, But they were churning through guys.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You just had to say, we've got to hit the
- 17:00Speaker 2: breaks and just balance this. So that's another thing is
- 17:04Speaker 2: we were just talking about what if Jeff goes five
- 17:06Speaker 2: and seven, six and six.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Can you get rid of him?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Sure you can, but that would make what fifth head
- 17:12Speaker 2: coach in seven six years, seven years, eight years?
- 17:16Speaker 1: Stand right?
- 17:17Speaker 2: I mean, we can't get into this cycle.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But if you know that you can't get it done right,
- 17:25Speaker 1: you we got to cut the cord.
- 17:29Speaker 2: So so what's your line in the sands six and
- 17:31Speaker 2: six minimum?
- 17:32Speaker 1: I would think six and six, but but I'm I
- 17:35Speaker 1: also lean that he needs to go seven and five
- 17:37Speaker 1: to retain this to to get another year okay and done.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Anything that should say we should keep him and anything, Well, No,
- 17:46Speaker 1: he's seven and eighteen overall and one in fifteen in
- 17:49Speaker 1: conference play and that's a that's against an interim coach
- 17:52Speaker 1: and Bobby Petrino in Arkansas last year that was you know,
- 17:57Speaker 1: So that's that's that's where we are. If I if
- 18:01Speaker 1: you were if you're a head coach and I was
- 18:06Speaker 1: an athletic director and I walked in and said to you,
- 18:11Speaker 1: bar two, I want you to fire Peak Kaikowski and
- 18:13Speaker 1: hire Will musch Champ. What would you say? Are you
- 18:17Speaker 1: cutting the jack? Yeah?
- 18:20Speaker 2: I mean I O, man, that one hurts.
- 18:23Speaker 1: We're talking about Texas defensive coordinator was fired by Sark
- 18:27Speaker 1: and Sark hired Will mus Champ, who's a bigger name,
- 18:30Speaker 1: especially in this area. And I think the common fan
- 18:33Speaker 1: believes must Champs better than Kaikowski because they can't pronounce
- 18:37Speaker 1: his name, and they they have it, they didn't know
- 18:39Speaker 1: anything about him, or two go ahead, I said, Dave,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I really feel strongly that we need to fire peak
- 18:45Speaker 1: Kaikowski and hire will Mus Champions DC.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Actually that is that is a good little curveball you
- 18:50Speaker 2: threw at me, because I have the defensive coordinator grades
- 18:56Speaker 2: in here since two thousand, When did must chav last
- 19:02Speaker 2: call plays?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Now, that's a good question. Did he call plays for
- 19:06Speaker 1: a year or so with Kirby? Prior to that he
- 19:13Speaker 1: was the South Carolina head coach. Prior to that he
- 19:16Speaker 1: was the Florida head coach. I think he was the
- 19:18Speaker 1: Auburn in Texas DC for a window before going on
- 19:23Speaker 1: as head coaching deal. Yeah, Texas and Auburn or Auburn
- 19:29Speaker 1: in Texas, and then got the Florida job fired, got
- 19:32Speaker 1: the South Carolina fired, and then Kirby hired him at Georgia.
- 19:38Speaker 1: He was in house on the field, and then I
- 19:40Speaker 1: think back in house or something. It's a good question.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I think there was one year with Georgia, but maybe
- 19:46Speaker 1: that's just as much Kirby as it is. You know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: must Sham. I mean, obviously you've talked about how Kirby's
- 19:55Speaker 1: number one along with Venables and I think Kowski since
- 20:00Speaker 1: two thousand.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah, kayak Kowski. Look, Pete was with Chris Peterson. A
- 20:07Speaker 2: lot of people don't know his background.
- 20:09Speaker 1: He was with christ Washington, not a Boise in Washington, Washington.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I knew he was there at Washington.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And he got to Washington in that defense that there's
- 20:17Speaker 2: a reason the defense went to the d and the
- 20:22Speaker 2: players drafted. We were incredible and he did it everywhere, right,
- 20:29Speaker 2: I mean, it was, it was. It was at Boise,
- 20:31Speaker 2: it was at Washington, and I've always felt I remember,
- 20:37Speaker 2: I remember seeing his numbers and it reminded me of
- 20:39Speaker 2: Dave Randa. And when Dave Randa went to l s U,
- 20:41Speaker 2: I was like, Okay, Dave Randa is going to leave
- 20:44Speaker 2: with the national title at l s U because of
- 20:46Speaker 2: l s u's talent. Sure, right, I mean it's just
- 20:49Speaker 2: naturally there in the state and at that program. Uh.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And Dave was able to do that, not so much
- 20:55Speaker 2: head coach, but good DC, great DC and kay Lekowski.
- 21:00Speaker 2: When he went to Texas, I'm like, wow, is he
- 21:02Speaker 2: good enough to overcome Sark being an average head coach?
- 21:07Speaker 1: Okay?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Because oh, while we're on the subject of coach effect.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Steve Sarkisian eleven seasons, zero point zero six coach effects.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, of course he's you.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Want to talk about you want to actually, Steve and
- 21:28Speaker 2: and and Shane Beemer look almost the same on paper
- 21:32Speaker 2: in terms of their effect on time.
- 21:33Speaker 1: So basically Sark coached at Washington Southern Call in Texas
- 21:37Speaker 1: where he had the better talent majority of the time,
- 21:40Speaker 1: and he doesn't take advantage of it.
- 21:43Speaker 2: No, in fact, without the last couple of years at Texas,
- 21:49Speaker 2: which has been really good years, right, he's he's he's
- 21:52Speaker 2: like minus one. He's bad, just not good at all.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And and I did I thought I thought kaye Kowski
- 21:59Speaker 2: could overcome and kay Kowski was carrying it. This is
- 22:04Speaker 2: this is a Texas is a program that has regressed
- 22:06Speaker 2: its offensive scoring efficiency.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Every year for three years.
- 22:10Speaker 2: And the defense is what has been winning football games
- 22:14Speaker 2: in my opinion, at least on paper. But then Steve
- 22:17Speaker 2: came out and said, oh, I'm having to do too
- 22:20Speaker 2: much running the offense and the defense or something like that.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Oh that's why he did say, right, he totally.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Threw him under the bus. And then I was like, oh,
- 22:27Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley, here's your opportunity.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Oh that would have been that would have been filthy.
- 22:32Speaker 1: It would have been Lincoln waving glorious. But then he
- 22:35Speaker 1: goes out Southern Khires.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Gary Patterson has been falling naked through broken glass for
- 22:41Speaker 2: ten years trying to get a job and finally got
- 22:44Speaker 2: somebody to buy.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. Gary Patterson, who was at TCU forever,
- 22:49Speaker 1: is back as a DC for Lincoln Riley, and kay
- 22:53Speaker 1: Kowski's at the beach and nobody.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I don't think kay Kowski's in the NFL, no kidding, yep, yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 2: yeah he is. And I think he is in. I
- 23:07Speaker 2: think he's at Arizona. Just some some random one. Well,
- 23:11Speaker 2: I mean, look at the defensive coordinator Simmons at SMU
- 23:14Speaker 2: went to be a linebacker the Cowboys and that guy
- 23:18Speaker 2: was wicked good too. But Pete Kaitekowski, uh, excellent, excellent
- 23:27Speaker 2: defensive coordinator did it? I mean he posted top five
- 23:31Speaker 2: scoring efficiency defenses at Boise, at Washington and at Texas.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I'd love to know how many guys have done it
- 23:38Speaker 2: three different places.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Will must Chaff hasn'
