- 2:00meets you where you are and gives you what you ask for. Tonight is
- 2:04a special name. We're having two celebrations versus Halloween. Halloween is a celebration
- 2:10observed in many countries on the thirty first of October. It's the eve of
- 2:15the Western Christian Feast of All Saints. It begins the observance of all hollow
- 2:21Time, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the day, including
- 2:25Saints, martyrs and all faithful departy. In popular culture, the day has
- 2:32become a celebration of horror, being associated with the supernatural. Now, many
- 2:38Halloween conditions and traditions were influenced, particularly by Celtic harvest festivals. But in
- 2:46today's culture we are trick or treating, attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins
- 2:52into Jack o'landings, lighting bonfires, and bobbing for apples. But lets not
- 2:58forget the costumes. Now, I've seen some wonderful costumes, from Dracula to
- 3:04Wednesday Adams to Spider Man and Barbie. No, don't hate on the Barbie.
- 3:08We all played with them when we were kids. And fellows you had
- 3:13either the Ken doll or those gi Jo dolls, or maybe even the soldiers,
- 3:17those toy soldiers and little green things. I used to see them all
- 3:21the time around my house. Well at least my brothers played with them.
- 3:24Now, I know Halloween is usually a kid celebration, but I saw some
- 3:29adults who were wearing some nice costumes they had I think today I saw a
- 3:34few that was the Beyonce Alien Superstars, an Aria from The Little Mermaid.
- 3:42Now the teachers, they were definitely keeping it real. A lot of them
- 3:45came dressed in the Disney costumes. And the daycare centers have a few grandchildren
- 3:50in the daycare centers and those babies they were either in little animals. I
- 3:55know my granddaughter was dressed up as a pink blue pig. There was a
- 4:00lot of little farm animals. There were some goats, there was some that
- 4:03was chickens. There was even some maybe ones that was dressed as little dogs.
- 4:09The staff was amazing. They did a great job. The kids had
- 4:14some fun. But the most popular for twenty twenty three just take a guess,
- 4:19take a wild guess of which one it was. Yep, it was
- 4:24the Blue Ivy from the Renaissance World Tour costume that did it in this year.
- 4:30This year. It was amazing to see how many of these kids dressed
- 4:34as Blue Ivy and you had some adults trying to pull it off too,
- 4:38But you gotta get it to the kids. They looked a little better than
- 4:42the adults, but they were doing their thing. And I remember when I
- 4:46was grown up, we used to run throughout the neighborhood, ringing doorbells and
- 4:49getting candy, sometimes hot and behind stuff. Now, some people threw eggs,
- 4:55I won't mention any names of who threw them, and some people t
- 4:59peed home. You were lucky if you didn't get caught. But that's when
- 5:03kids were kids, eating candy and having fun. And when you think about
- 5:09the time going back of dressing in costumes, well, the costumes were different.
- 5:15They were a little you think about it now, a little chreat looking.
- 5:16They had, you know, those masks on. Even back then,
- 5:19they were doing more of the presidential ones. I remember a few of them
- 5:24were Nixon. Some of them were caught he you know, those are the
- 5:27faces. But I wonder if they have the Obama costume with a mask.
- 5:33I think there was a few during his time that they had the Obama and
- 5:38I'm not sure if they had Michelle, but I'm quite sure they had President
- 5:41Obama. I'm still my president. That's what I'm gonna say. He's gonna
- 5:44always be my president. But just thinking about going back in their time,
- 5:48how I used to run and you know, go through the area. We
- 5:53would have not the little trick or treat bags. We would have plastic bags
- 5:58because we had more candy. We were a little older. I would say,
- 6:00maybe ab I'm thirteen or fourteen. Yeah, we were still trick or
- 6:02treating then, and we would run from the house to house. And the
- 6:08thing about it, back then, we knew the house that we were going
- 6:12to, We knew the people. The people kind of knew who we were
- 6:15to you know, you could basically tell who we were with those little costumes
- 6:17that we had, but we knew whose house to go to. We knew
- 6:20Miss I won't say her name, but we knew she had the best candy
- 6:25in the neighborhood. So we would often go to her house and her house
- 6:28was always packed with kids, and sometimes you would even try to go back
- 6:30to get more candy, and she knew who you were, but she always
- 6:34gave us the extra candy. So, you know, we did a lot
- 6:36of traveling around in the community again, throwing eggs, playing with each other.
- 6:43And again that's when kids were kids. That's when it was a little
- 6:46safer to go out into the community and just trick or treat and hang with
- 6:51your friends. And even at that time, the candy was different. You
- 6:57know some of the candy, Well, what was your favorite one? What
- 7:02was your favorite Halloween candy? Was it the Skittles? Was it Hershey mum
- 7:09chocolate? Maybe it was the Snickers. Some people even had Eminem's. Yeah,
- 7:16I see Travida. Yup. The costumes are different these days. And
- 7:19we had the grocery store bag for our candy on somebody saying receas. Yep,
- 7:24they still have the reces I just went shopping and brought some of those.
- 7:28But yeah, we had the grocery store bag. They held a lot,
- 7:31those little bags that's about this big. What was they gonna hold?
- 7:35TUTSI rolls, candy corn yap, candy corn. My mother loves those candy
- 7:40corns. You can never go back with the candy corns. And a good
- 7:44thing about the candy corns this time, I know nobody want to give free
- 7:47candy where it's open, and you know, other people's children have to have
- 7:50them. Chocolate chocolate is the best. They come in little packets now where
- 7:56it's more protective, and I'm really happy that they did that. But my
- 8:01favorite was Payday. I love the Payday now. The thing about it is
- 8:07with the Payday I was able to eat it then, but years later I
- 8:11found out that I have some peanut allergies, so I can't even have that.
- 8:16Yeah, I just can't be eating the peanut ones. But I know
- 8:20the Eminem's peanut or playing they were also good. But I know that it
- 8:24sounds corny. But is anyone still giving out pennies? We used to find
- 8:30it in the bottom of our bag. Yeah, Latian, you love Candy
- 8:33Kane too. They can't be corned too. We used to find pennies in
- 8:37our bags, and back then you would look and say, I don't want
- 8:39no pennies, didn't have enough for a cost, and had the weird sheet
- 8:43with holes for is. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
- 8:46You was a ghost, Casper, here you go. Casper was their friendly
- 8:52ghost. Sometimes they still do that. You know, everybody don't always have
- 8:56the money to do that. But you were innovative and you were creative,
- 9:00and I know you Patreced creative and innovative, so you see where you got
- 9:05it from. It was worth cutting the holes in the sheet. Look where
- 9:07you're at now, you ass that's right. Look where you're at now.
- 9:11So cutting the holes in the sheet, little black eyes, tying it up
- 9:16with string or rope or whatever you had it was okay now. It may
- 9:20not have felt like it was okay back then. Everybody don't have that luxury
- 9:26of going out and buying costumes, and these costumes are expensive. I had
- 9:31to buy two costumes, one for my son and one for my grandson.
- 9:35You have kids breathing with those plastic masks. No, you couldn't breathing them.
- 9:39But again, they are so creative now, and they're expensive. I
- 9:43paid forty dollars for one costume. No, I don't want to hear it.
- 9:46I don't want to see nobody write nothing that you crazy. You brought
- 9:50it when you love your kids. You love your kids and they're gonna wear
- 9:54it next year too. I was a little bopee one years old that was
- 9:58so adorable. The cute little cost rooms that they're dressing up their babies up,
- 10:01and you just see you see sheeps. That was the most fun.
- 10:07Yep, Betrees grown up as a kid, that was the most fun growing
- 10:13up and being able to play and play and safe. But you look at
- 10:16it, you know, with the price of everything going up, you gotta
- 10:20buy the candy, you gotta buy the costume. And the sad thing about
- 10:24it is they want these costumes that are these characters that they see on TV.
- 10:28I'm not shading Disney, but your costumes are expensive. Some families just
- 10:35can't afford it. They honestly cannot afford it, you know, so they
- 10:41do what they have to do. But it's nothing like sitting with your child
- 10:45and making a costume and drawing on the face and using makeup. I guess
- 10:48what the little girls that would be one time you can actually wear makeup.
- 10:52So it was a lot of fun for me growing up the time. It
- 10:56says I love Halloween. My son was the screen care so for three years
- 11:01straight. Hey, you save money. You may have just changed it and
- 11:03add a little something to it, but there's nothing wrong with being that and
- 11:07he probably loved it and thinking about it back then him looking at it now,
- 11:13how does he dress his daughter? How does he dress his son?
- 11:16Is he your father. Do he dresses kids in a different way than the
- 11:20way that you dress them? May or he may not. But again it
- 11:28was expensive. Like I said, my kids are gonna wear the same costume
- 11:31next year for forty dollars. We're gonna get our money's worth out of it.
- 11:33Believe you may, We're gonna get our money's worth out of it.
- 11:37What I want to know is parents this Halloween, please be mindful for those
- 11:45who go out without their children. You have to understand that everybody out there
- 11:52is not trick or treating. This is that season that some people are lurking
- 12:00in areas where they know there's a lot of children, and these kids are
- 12:05walking around by themselves. They're in costumes, they're running around having fun,
- 12:09and they're just not understanding what's going on. You said that he loved it.
- 12:13I bet you he did. I bet you did. Tell me you
- 12:16have pictures. He still loves Halloween and he does make sure that his daughter
- 12:18has a costume. Wonderful. How many of you still have pictures of your
- 12:24kids and those cute little costumes. I call them the black male costumes because
- 12:28you know, you can say how cute they were, but they look like
- 12:30no, no, you're not gonna show that picture. I think I have
- 12:33a few of them talked away, and I think I'm gonna use those for
- 12:35when i need to have something done around the house. I'm going to use
- 12:39those for I guess I could just say black mail. But getting back to
- 12:43being safe out there, you have to monitor your children when they're out there.
- 12:50You have to check their candy when they getting home. I know that
- 12:54this is the dentist famous and favorite time of the year. Well it's my
- 12:58kids for you time of the year too, because they only get to eat
- 13:01candy twice a year. I know somebody say, oh, you know they
- 13:05sneaking, kidd the nook. I can't mind in them and see everything they're
- 13:07doing, but I do know that I only give them permission to eat candy
- 13:13twice a year. That is for Halloween, and that is for Easter.
- 13:18Those only ten times of the year that I figured it was the best time
- 13:22of the year to allow them to eat candy, because I am not trying
- 13:24to put somebody else's child through college or to pay somebody's mortgage with the dentist
- 13:28bill. Trevida You says, yes, those costumes are expensive. They are
- 13:33expensive. Yeah, I just I look, if I can lay away a
- 13:37costume, I'll lay it away. I will lay it away in a minute.
- 13:41It's nothing wrong with putting two ten kids together with a string and saying
- 13:46that you've a telephone operating. You walk with your friend down the block,
- 13:48say something, do something. But the best thing about the Halloween for these
- 13:52kids, I think it's just being out there having fun. Treeda. You
- 13:58said me too, Yep, I get it, I get it. It's
- 14:01to having fun and running around and just I guess it's the candy. I
- 14:07guess it's the candy for them, But for me, it's more so staying
- 14:11in the house with my kids, watching scary movies, sitting in our pajamas,
- 14:16telling scary stories, looking at old pictures. I guess for them,
- 14:22it's also ordering pizza. Now. I do buy candy for them, at
- 14:24least I don't have to go check it all the time. And we do
- 14:30put out candy for other kids, but again, I make sure it's the
- 14:31same candy. Make sure that you have to actually pull it open, not
- 14:37the ones with the little twist on it. Because anybody can do and I'm
- 14:41gonna say anybody can do something with it. They can lace it. I
- 14:43remember back in my time, and I'm not telling anybody to do this,
- 14:46but I'm telling you to check. They used to give our fruit. Hey,
- 14:54Unfortunately, you can't steal the grand baby stickers this year. I'm gonna
- 14:58do that. And that's my grandbaby talking about. See. But I can't
- 15:01take the Snickers because it has the peanuts in it. And you know that,
- 15:03and you know you're wrong. You know you're wrong for bringing up those
- 15:05dag on snickers. But that's all right. I got some. I got
- 15:09some candy upstairs hitting for myself, so you're gonna have to go looking for
- 15:11it. But I'm gonna move away from her because she's just trying to teach
- 15:16me because you know that I can't eat the Snickers this year because of the
- 15:18peanuts, and we went out and bought a lot. It's nostalgia of it
- 15:22for me, Yes, it is. You get to sit back, you
- 15:26get to relax, You get to watch those grand babies now and just just
- 15:31adore them. You just adore them. You still have those pictures. Good
- 15:35for you, Travina. Call it blackmail, Trevina. Use those pictures when
- 15:39you need something. Let them know you're gonna post them on Facebook. You're
- 15:43gonna send them and let their friends see them. Take the pictures of the
- 15:46grand babies too, because they're gonna grow up and you won't need those pictures
- 15:50because you know, the older we get, the more they gonna they gonna
- 15:54want from us. So use those pictures to blackmail, but in a good
- 15:58way, in a good way, you know, rape the watch dishes,
- 16:03Do whatever you have to do. Dangle those pictures over them, because it
- 16:06works. It works with me because a little smarty that got on it just
- 16:08now talking about the grand baby and the peanut snickers. I got you.
- 16:15I got something for you. I have some pictures of you. If i'd
- 16:18have known you it was gonna come on here tonight and do that, I
- 16:21would have got a picture of you and hold it up. But I'm gonna
- 16:22be on the show next next week and the week after that, So I
- 16:26got some baby pictures of you. I don't think you're gonna like it,
- 16:29but I'm gonna show it anyway when you go upstairs and try to look for
- 16:30it. But I got them hitting. See, this is what you get.
- 16:36This is exactly what you get for trying to play your mother. Yoh,
- 16:38you wanna laugh? Got jokes? Okay, I got jokes too,
- 16:41Remember you sleep pard BC's cup. You're talking about all the stuff with the
- 16:45peanuts and the peanut butter. Okay, that's cool, that's all right.
- 16:51Not the black man. Yeah. See, now here's the thing. She
- 16:52wanna be smart. And I know I'm getting off the subject, but she
- 16:56want to be smart. Now watch you apologize real quick. Birthday coming in
- 16:59January? My birthday, mom? No, yep, yep, you knew
- 17:03where I was going with your birthday's coming in January, and you're gonna need
- 17:06a babysitter. See see where those eminems get you? Then see where that
- 17:11peanut goes. Then that's right, yep, I got tricks too. So
- 17:17I want an apology. Come on, you can do it. Be a
- 17:21big girl. Apologize on it. You got on here and try to play
- 17:22me, So apologize on it. I want to see it. I want
- 17:26to see it go right across the string. I apologize, Mommy, I
- 17:29wasn't right. Come on, now, you know you're gonna want to go
- 17:32out, and then you got the holiday coming Christmas, you got the New
- 17:38Year, you gonna want to go out, and your birthday's right behind that.
- 17:41Yep, I'm pulling all of those I'm pulling all of those cards out.
- 17:45Yep. I got you, I got you, and you gonna see
- 17:48here crying. Mom. You know I was just joking on so was I.
- 17:51Good night, have a happy and that's all I'm gonna say to you.
- 17:56And I can hear him laughing through the walls. You can laugh for
- 17:57you want watch what happens. Come Jack, you know what, I'm gonna
- 18:00make it my business to see if I can be on the show on your
- 18:03birthday. And I'm gonna be sitting here relaxing while you sitting in another room,
- 18:07celebrating your birthday in another room. So she gonna call your mother out
- 18:11on those dag on Penis. You know you wasn't right, but that's all
- 18:12right. I got something for you. I got something for you, Yes,
- 18:18I do. Well. Anyway, I'm gonna get back to this because
- 18:21she tried to be sticking take me off of here, but Easter and Halloween
- 18:25were at the time of the year. She's probably trying to get back of
- 18:26it because she was one of my children that couldn't have the candy either.
- 18:29But she should be grateful for it now because I do it with my grands
- 18:33But for the most part, like I said, I stay on with my
- 18:34kids. I ordered some pizza, I watched some crazy movies and my pajamas
- 18:40and we just call it a night. Now we do, you know,
- 18:42have some fun. We make little things. And I should have made some
- 18:45jello this year, but I didn't. You know, jello was just something
- 18:51that wasn't on my mind. Oh weeh wow. Yeah, here we call
- 18:53the best free babysiting Nope, and put a dollar sign behind it. I
- 18:59apologize and large writing Mommy, I'm so very, very very sorry. Dinner
- 19:06is waiting for you. Well, guess what, I'm not even hungry.
- 19:07I lost my appetite. Yeah, January one. I'm a januine baby.
- 19:14She's January the twenty fifth, and I know you not like all the time.
- 19:18I'm definitely the mom to use pictures of my kids. I did it
- 19:22to my daughter for her senior year gohead Travida while she was in high school.
- 19:26I put the picture with the potty seat on the head of a wooo
- 19:32go ahead Travida. Yep. I know I'm gonna be digging through those pictures
- 19:34though. She want to be smart tho. I'm gonna go through those pictures.
- 19:38I'm gonna go through those pictures, and you know what hers is January
- 19:41twenty fifth, yep. But you know what since she opened up her mouth.
- 19:45Oh okay, here's the twenty fourth, since she opened her mouth.
- 19:49I'm gonna get a brother's too. Now, how do you like me?
- 19:55Now, I'm gonna get your brothers too. I'm gonna get them for the
- 19:59same And their birthday is in December. In January, his is the fourteenth
- 20:03and the other one is the twenty second birthdays right around. I'm gonna pay
- 20:10them too. I'm gonna pay them a visit because of your mouth. I'm
- 20:12gonna get there. Mm hmm. Your grandmother always said nothing defies the body,
- 20:18but what comes out of the mouth. So if you ever heard her
- 20:21say that, now you know what she means by that. Remember, nothing
- 20:23defies the body, but what comes out of the mouth. So your body
- 20:27and your mouth will be sitting here on January twenty fifth. As matter of
- 20:32fact, you're gonna be sitting here on December thirty first, right along with
- 20:36me. Well, we got a celebration coming out. Yeah, guilty by
- 20:38association. Yeah, that's what you do. Guilty by association. No,
- 20:44don't try to suck up now to people saying, hey Aquarius, you just
- 20:47forget all about that. That's not even gonna help you. Now, don't
- 20:49come on my shows trying to be nice to people because you messed up.
- 20:53Yeah. See, I'm not gonna get the grandkids because of you. I'm
- 20:57gonna let them slide. I'm gonna I hadn't do what I gotta do for
- 21:00them. I'm gonna let them slide. I'm gonna give them what they deserve.

- 23:19am, but they're not paying me to say it. But they are the
- 23:22best. When I say that, like, family is not just family because
- 23:26it's called the Crew. It's because when this show is over, we still
- 23:30have connections to each other. We connect with each other, we talk to
- 23:34each other, and we want you to be a part of this family.
- 23:37We want you to come and join the crew. Patria, she's one of
- 23:41them. She's part of the family. Trevita is part of the family.
- 23:45Latania is part of the family. My daughter's gonna be up for adoption,
- 23:49so they don't even think she's not even part of my family anymore. So
- 23:52anybody want her, they can take her. Yep, yeah, I'm getting
- 23:56a little salty tonight with her. But yeah, these are our family members.
- 24:00You're seeing them come in, they're popping in and they're supportive. We're
- 24:03supportive to you. You join the Crew, You're gonna be trained throughout the
- 24:07month of January. We have our producer, Miss Angela Thomas Smith, who's
- 24:14gonna be there with you one hundred percent. She's gonna be with you.
- 24:18She's gonna take you through this journey. We're gonna be there supporting you as
- 24:22well. We're gonna be in there. We're you're gonna be doing some mock
- 24:26interviews with us. You know, I'm not gonna give you any more than
- 24:29that. Just come and join us, Join the Crew. You're gonna be
- 24:34happy that you did, because we got a lot of things coming up for
- 24:37next year. We got a lot of surprises for a lot of people.
- 24:42So we want you to be a part of this network, the Crew Network.
- 24:47We are the best. Come live, love and learn with us because
- 24:51we're still learning. We're learning about this wonderful network. We're not adoption.
- 24:56We're learning about each other. But more than that we're learning about ourselves because
- 25:03I've learned a lot about myself. I didn't think I'm gonna be honest,
- 25:07I didn't think that I would ever do a podcast. Now, I'll be
- 25:10a guest on anybody's show. But to sit and to talk to people,
- 25:15I always say I didn't have anything to talk about. People not gonna listen
- 25:18to me. Shoot, my kids barely want to listen to me. But
- 25:21they're grown now, most of them. But I found so many wonderful people
- 25:26that wanted their stories, told so many people that did not have their own
- 25:33voice, and they asked me to use my voice for their voice. And
- 25:36I did, and I'm continuing to do that. We are the change we
- 25:40desired to see in this world, and we want you to be a part
- 25:44of this right here, right now. So while you're sitting here tonight and
- 25:48watching us, you see all the information on there, you can go in
- 25:52d and me, you can speak to the crew podcast. We're on almost
- 25:56every social media network there is seeing I never imagine myself doing it. See
- 26:03a lot of us didn't imagine ourselves doing this, but Angela made it easy.
- 26:08She made it comfortable, and she made us feel like we were family
- 26:14the crew aspiring Author's magazine. I come with four kids and a ninety old
- 26:18men. Know what you didn't see? Now you're gonna put my mama out
- 26:22there? Now you want to go for it. You're talking about my mother.
- 26:26Now, you know you're gonna have some problems. You didn't have to
- 26:29put your grandmother out there, and you didn't have to tell her age.
- 26:32But I'm gonna tell her that you went out there and you put it out
- 26:33there. You so you're selling your grandmother. That's sad, that's it.
- 26:38But I'm gonna tell her what you said. M m watch me and my
- 26:44grandkids is not a part of your package? You by yourself? Mm hmm.
- 26:48Well anyway, See that's some of the stuff that we do here.
- 26:52We have a lot of fun. We do play a lot of jokes on
- 26:55each other, but we're serious. We're serious about you. We're serious about
- 26:59what we do. We want you to join us, watch us on the
- 27:06thirty first. Look, of course we're gonna be bringing in New Year.
- 27:08Oh, you're gonna take my mother. You know what, I can use
- 27:12the vacation. Your go ahead and have her packing your bags. Now you're
- 27:19not packing them fast? Enough because I don't care too much moving around and
- 27:23when you pack your bag, when you pack your bag, you got a
- 27:27one year old. I don't feel like changing pampas. I love her.
- 27:30You can bring her back after she finished all of that pooping in the pampa
- 27:34and the party changing and getting up in the middle of the night. You
- 27:37can take it with you. But when she gets a little older, you
- 27:40can bring her back. Because I love my granddaughter. You see how we
- 27:42do y'all sound like my kids. Hey, this is the way we are,
- 27:48this is what we do here on the crew. I love to have
- 27:52her now. And yeah, my mom's a piece of work. She's a
- 27:56work in progress, though she will be in our She will be ninety nine
- 28:00years old on Valentine's Day, ninety nine years old. So I have no
- 28:08idea what I'm gonna do with her this year for her ninety ninth birthday,
- 28:11but I know it's gonna be something. But I can just imagine her one
- 28:15hundredth birthday. Man, oh man, it's gonna be It's gonna be something,
- 28:19and y'all are invited, but you can't tell her. But I know
- 28:26she's gonna do like she did this year. She's gonna start picking in.
- 28:29Yeah, we celebrate, Yeah we are. You know, we're gonna say
- 28:30it's gonna be big, It's gonna be big ninety nine years. See.
- 28:34I don't want to go any further because if I tell you a little bit
- 28:37more about it than your figure out how old I am. And my daughter
- 28:38bet not saying anything. She want to stay here. Your son was born
- 28:42on Valentine. Oh, okay, she's your new nana. Yes she is,
- 28:48Yes she is. She's everybody's nana. She's everybody's grandma. Now you're
- 28:52gonna have some competition in a minute, because I know somebody's gonna come in
- 28:53here and tell you something about that's her grandmother. No, I ain't gonna
- 28:56tell you who she is, but she's gonna talk on in a minute,
- 28:59and she's gonna tell you that's just her grandmother because she's spoiled. She's her
- 29:03cry baby granddaughter. She spoiled, and her grandmother spoils her if she knows
- 29:10them, or and she's like, who's that is that my granddaughter? Is
- 29:12that my crybaby granddaughter? Yeah? Mom, that's her. She's on here.
- 29:18What she doing, She's doing everything? And I keep telling her to
- 29:22relax. Yep, that's the crybaby granddaughter right there. So we are gonna
- 29:30celebrate her. We're gonna celebrate her or celebrate her, celebrate she enjoyed last
- 29:33year. I have an idea. Who you talking about? Yeah, you
- 29:37guessed it. That's time. She'll cry in a minute. But we love
- 29:42her and you can see why. That's why we want you to join the
- 29:48crew. Now. I'm not gonna promise you that I'm gonna share my mom
- 29:52with you, but you can get to know her because sometimes I interview my
- 29:56mom. She's an author, she's going through just like me, or I'm
- 30:02an author just like her. And she has a lot to say. Believe
- 30:07me, she has a lot to say, and she'll say it too.
- 30:10She's one person. Well I put it like this. She does speak of
- 30:15mine when when she feels like it's necessary to speak of mine, and that's
- 30:19most of the time. But you gotta give me away. Oh yeah,
- 30:23yeah, you know you're going you're gonna. I thought you were packing your
- 30:26bags and did I see somebody say something about a uber you packing your bags
- 30:33but you're still on here? How mm hmm. Yeah, I kind of
- 30:37thought. So you don't want to go no place. You snitching over.
- 30:41You ain't got a jill telling myself. Matter of fact, I'll replay this
- 30:45for and I let her know what you said about her, and I'll let
- 30:48her know. Yet you go have the trees call that uber. You must
- 30:51know how I feel't call that uber Patrees, and I'll give y'all DM you
- 30:55my address, so they make sure that they are on tie. See I
- 30:59would have given her a rocket, them not let her get in an uber.
- 31:00Let her pay for it with a smart mouth. But again, I'm
- 31:06gonna tell you you love an uber. Jesus. She's a piece of word.
- 31:12She is her grandmother's granddaughter. Both of them are piece of work.
- 31:17Matter of fact, both of them under the same sign. So you can
- 31:18imagine what I go through here in the house, Tesla. Please, but
- 31:25you see again, this is why we want you to join us. We
- 31:26have a lot of fun. We will take you to see I thought we
- 31:33were here. She's not a part of the crew. She's just a plus
- 31:37one. How do you take that? You're gonna take her here and she's
- 31:40giving me problems and we together. You see, Latanya, see how you
- 31:48became a turncoat? It was that easy. Mm hmm. She turned you.
- 31:53How did that happen? Two seconds ago you were on my side,
- 31:56But now you're talking about you're gonna take her chill. Oh yeah, you're
- 32:01special. Al right, then y'all a special. That's okay. Remember that
- 32:07when your birthday come, thank you, sweetiedad. Go my baby shaking her
- 32:14head knowing you know how she is. She went there tonight. But you
- 32:21know something that's funny. I don't hear no moving house. The house is
- 32:23quiet, quiet, so she's probably upstairs mopping the floor, washing the dishes.
- 32:31And then you're gonna tell me that she's gotta plate a food ready for
- 32:35me. Yeah, uh huh m. Now I was born this month but
- 32:39not this year, so you can keep your food because right now I'm not
- 32:45even trusting me because you ready to do some numbers on me, talking about
- 32:50you're gonna tell your grandmother and you're gonna take her with you, okay,
- 32:54and she'd be getting on your nerves. You'll be handling about you're gonna take
- 32:57her with you. Let's wait till tomorrow morning when she get up and she
- 33:04feeling herself. Let's see how much you talking about I'm gonna take her with
- 33:09me when she's asking for her coffee, when she's telling you that it's not
- 33:15sweet enow, when she's telling you that she needs hro She in trouble.
- 33:22Yes, she's in trouble. Oh boy, she just don't know how trouble
- 33:25is. She really don't know. And you studying for your boards and you
- 33:30need it quiet, and you're gonna need a ride there. Mm hmm.
- 33:38Yeah, I see you. I see you for who you really are.
- 33:44You showing all your colors, miss Blue. Mm hmm. I got you
- 33:49got something for you too. Now, that's not a threat, that's just
- 33:52the way I speak. And I got into trouble for that one time I
- 33:54said something in the state that I'm living in and I'm from New York,
- 34:00so I speak and the way did I speak. I don't apologize for what
- 34:07I say. But when people say certain things and I say something back,
- 34:13and I give you a response, because that's all it is is a response,
- 34:15you get offended. And I'm not here to offend anybody. But there
- 34:21is a language difference, and I'm not gonna say a barrier. It's a
- 34:24difference. Now I'll say, I'll give you an example from where I'm at.
- 34:30My brother had a female friend come visit him in New York and she
- 34:37was speaking the way I guess she speaks from where she was coming from,
- 34:39and she happened to say to him, I'm gonna dot you in an eye,
- 34:44and I'm gonna bang you. So, being from New York, when
- 34:46you tell somebody you're gonna bang him, what do you think that means?
- 34:51That means that you're gonna shot. That's what I took it as, and
- 34:55that's what everybody else around us took it as. But she gotta pass because
- 35:00she didn't know. Now, I moved to the state that she's in and
- 35:05I went into the store and I asked a gentleman, can I have four
- 35:09wings, chicken wings, and some French fries? He asked me, did
- 35:15I want a chicken box? So I'm looking at him and saying to him,
- 35:20no, I want four wings, chicken wings, and some French fries.
- 35:23And he kept saying that I want a chicken box. I said this,
- 35:25I don't want a box of chicken. And I'm thinking, like a
- 35:28box a chicken from home. It's different than here. So I let that
- 35:31go and I said, well, if that's what it is, then yes,
- 35:35that's what I want. So he asked me, did I want something
- 35:37to drink? And I said, yes, I do want something to drink.
- 35:42Can I get tea with lemon? He asked me, did I want
- 35:46a half in half? So at this point I started getting annoyed because I
- 35:51said, if I wanted a half in half, I would go to the
- 35:52supermarket and I would get a half in half, because to me, the
- 35:55half and half is, you know, the cream that you put in your
- 35:59core field, whatever it is you're gonna have or you're cereal or whatever it
- 36:01is. So I'm looking at him like, no, I want some tea
- 36:06with some women, and he just kept going on with this half and hand.
- 36:08So I said I'm done. I had no idea what he was talking
- 36:12about, but that's what they call it here, so you know I heard
- 36:16him. I still say the way that I want to say it, and
- 36:22that's the way I get along here. Now here's one of the things that
- 36:27I was really baffled about. I was driving my car and my car stalled,
- 36:35so I said that I needed to write Arnold Palmer. They just don't
- 36:38get it. If I was said that, they would have just been looking
- 36:42for the golfer. So I just knew not to even go there with the
- 36:45Arnold Palmer, if that's even if they knew what it was. So my
- 36:49car got stalled, so I said, I need a boost. The gentleman
- 36:53said, you need some help. I said, yes, I need a
- 36:55boost. He said, excuse me, He said, I can give you
- 37:00a hot shot. Now here we go get Being from New York, I'm
- 37:01thinking he's talking about hot I'm thinking about God, how to shoot me.
- 37:06But a hot shot here is what we call a boost, and that's just
- 37:08to get our car jump started. I had no idea what he was talking
- 37:15about. But he jump started my car and I got out of there just
- 37:16as quick as I could, because I had no idea what was going on.
- 37:21That's the language that they spoke here. And when you go to different
- 37:28communities and you go to different states, I feel as though you need to
- 37:30have a dictionary. And it's not an ethnic thing or any race you thing.
- 37:36It's just that you need to know what the lingo is when you're in
- 37:38that state, because they could be bad mistakes. People can take language.
- 37:45See now somebody's saying that, now, see, a jump off could be
- 37:47plenty of things. So I ain't gonna go there with a jump off.
- 37:50So I'm gonna act like you didn't even say that. But I got a
- 37:52feeling that you I know what you meant with the car, But somebody else
- 37:54said something else, somebody said boost. I would have said, no,
- 37:58I don't need you to steal me. You see what I'm saying that we're
- 38:00all from different places, and this is what I'm talking about. People say
- 38:05different things. So he many people think that I have an accent. You
- 38:10know. They'll say, oh, I know you're from New York. I
- 38:12say, no, I'm from Jersey. Because sometimes I feel like they're trying
- 38:15to be a little smart with it. But it is what it is.
- 38:19But now here's something no matter what statum in and my daughter, I'm gonna
- 38:23say it low. My daughter have a problem with me saying it, so
- 38:29she'll say, Mom, I'm going to get something from Chick fil Am.
- 38:36I say that it's chick Fela. Look at the way that it's spelled.
- 38:39It's I I l A. Growing up, you had a pair of fela's
- 38:44on fil A is spelled what I l if I L E T T.
- 38:50That's so for l fl air fish. So I know, and I feel
- 38:53strong about it that I'm saying it right. It's chick Fela. She says,
- 38:59it's chick fila. We say, boost off and jump off here and
- 39:02south and see that's what I'm saying. So I'm glad you told me because
- 39:05now when I come to visit, well, you know what, when I
- 39:07come to business, it's gonna call you to take you to pick me up.
- 39:09I'm not gonna drive because I'll be in all sorts of trouble. I'll
- 39:13probably be going up a street that I'm thinking I can go down and it's
- 39:15probably a one way street. See that's what I'm saying. There you go.
- 39:19I agree. It's like the shoe Fela. There you go. Now,
- 39:22I hope she's listening to that little miss Smarty. Where you at?
- 39:24Now? I say the same thing. It's Fela fi la, so I
- 39:30say, and I sit around people, I say, no, I don't
- 39:32want to need chick feel and they love him. I'm like, well,
- 39:36whatever you said it was, I don't want that, But I say,
- 39:38it's chick feel love. They have good food. Don't get me wrong.
- 39:42I'm not trying to come down there, but that's just the way that I
- 39:44pronounce it. And I'm not saying that I speak proper immages because I don't
- 39:50speak the Queen's English. So if I went over there on London, they
- 39:53would laugh at me because what we speak is broken English. Year and I'm
- 39:58not laughing at anybody the state to a man, I'm just saying that we
- 40:01speak our meanings for certain things are different, and if you don't know,
- 40:07then what you should do is say what do you mean by that? Simple
- 40:13thing? What do you mean by that? And that can reduce a lot
- 40:16of tension between people, and it can reduce a lot of arguments, bussing
- 40:22fighting. Just ask a person what do you mean You don't have to fight,
- 40:28You don't have to argue simple thing, What do you mean by that?
- 40:34It can take care so much just by asking that simple question. Well,
- 40:39it's Halloween. I'm hearing some movement upstairs, so I think the kids
- 40:44either the pizza's here or either somebody's at the door and they're here to get
- 40:50some candy. But I thank you all so very much for joining me tonight.

- 41:42talking about. With this child of mine. She's calling some people freeloaders.
- 41:45But she forgot that. She used to run around out there in them little
- 41:47costumes. I used to get her to begging for candy. So that's what
- 41:51I'm gonna call you, begging for candy, knocking on doors, begging for
- 41:53candy, holding your bag open, looking pathetic. I know I'm your mom
- 42:00us, So why not? Good night? Everybody? Be safe. Basic
